Universal Epic Universe has barely been open a year, and already, we’re starting to see changes! “You wonder next which path to chart; The answer lies within your heart” Of course, we’ve seen restaurant menus change with new snacks added, and merchandise inventory shifts with the seasons, but we’re here to talk about BIG changes. There are some significant updates planned for Epic Universe in the future. How do we know? Well, a new permit was filed! A new commercial permit was filed for the Epic Universe site on March 23rd, 2026. The description of the permit is “Mass grading, utility points of connection, and re-routes for early work purposes of a future attraction known as Project 680.” Gate at Epic Universe What does this mean? Epic Universe will be getting a NEW attraction sometime in the future, and currently it’s being referred to as Project 680. The applicant for the permit is a company called LandDesign, whose past projects include work with SeaWorld Orlando’s parent company and work in the Lake Nona area of Orlando. UPDATE: The permit has since been removed from the website. We’ll keep you updated with any more changes. Wizarding World of Harry Potter Rumors have been flying about expansion plans for Epic Universe since before the park even opened, since there are “expansion pads” of land outside the park’s current boundaries that could be used to add more lands and attractions. Fans have been theorizing what the expansions will be, but no official announcements have come from Universal yet. Super Nintendo World A few months ago, we shared some aerial photos of construction beginning in one of the empty lots. That lot is located next to Super Nintendo World, just outside of Celestial Park. Construction materials had been delivered, and some equipment had arrived on-site. It’s not yet certain if this is the construction zone for which the attraction permit was filed. ©bioreconstruct That lot isn’t the only contender, though. There’s also a sizable lot behind Stardust Racers that could likely connect to either Ministry of Magic or Celestial Park. It has a small zone of access to Isle of Berk as well. ©bioreconstruct We’ll be interested to see what comes of these construction permits, and we’ll be keeping a close eye on Universal for any announcements. If you’re planning a trip to Epic Universe in 2026, you’ll want to be aware of these rules they are enforcing this year. Celestial Park in Epic Universe If you’re planning a visit to Epic Universe, there’s a lot more to think about than just which rides you’re rope-dropping first. Universal Orlando Resort is bringing some seriously next-level attractions, but also a stricter set of rules that could catch unprepared guests off guard. From what you can bring into lines to what you can wear on your face, these policies are worth knowing before you arrive, so your day doesn’t hit an unexpected snag. 1. Leave the Folding Chairs at Home If you were hoping to bring a folding stool or compact chair to make long lines more comfortable, think again. Epic Universe is enforcing a strict no–folding chair policy, which includes those small, collapsible stools people often try to sneak into queues. Even if it fits in a backpack, it won’t be allowed, so you’ll need to plan on standing it out like everyone else. We know the lines can be long at Epic, but you cannot bring these in. Line for Harry Potter and the Battle at the Ministry 2. Costume Rules Are Stricter Than You Think Costumes are part of the fun, but there are clear boundaries. Guests cannot wear costume masks, veils, or anything with long trailing fabric like trains. The goal is to keep visibility and safety in check throughout the park. The one exception? Face coverings worn for medical or health reasons are still permitted, so those won’t be an issue. Constellation Carousel in Celestial Park 3. Weapons (Even Fake Ones) Are a No-Go Leave the swords and prop weapons at home. Epic Universe is not allowing them inside the park. Even themed accessories are regulated. For example, if you’re bringing a wand you made yourself, it must be rounded on both ends and appropriate in appearance. Anything that could be perceived as dangerous or realistic weaponry is likely to be turned away at security. Cosme Acajor Wand 4. The Locker Policy Is Non-Negotiable Some of Epic Universe’s biggest rides come with strict loose-item rules, and yes, they’re being enforced. Attractions like Hiccup’s Wing Gliders, Stardust Racers, and Monsters Unchained require guests to store loose items in lockers before boarding. Meanwhile, Dragon Racer’s Rally uses cubbies instead. If you’re used to keeping your phone or bag with you, this is a big shift, so build extra time into your plans for locker use. Dark Universe Lockers 5. Face Paint Comes With Limits Planning to go all out with face paint? There’s a catch. Only partial face painting is allowed, and it can’t cover more than half your face vertically. This ties into identification policies, especially when it comes to purchasing alcohol. If team members can’t verify your identity, they can refuse service. Guests may even be asked to modify or remove face paint or makeup if it interferes with identification. Long before I stepped onto the field as a Savannah Banana, Disney was a huge part of my world growing up. What began as childhood trips to Walt Disney World in Florida, filled with childlike wonder and a jolt of excitement, has turned into a lifelong connection rooted in creativity, community, and connection with Disney and Banana Ball fans around the world. Today, you could say I’m a very proud “Disney adult,” and I’m happy to step up to the plate and share my love for the food, rides, characters, and key moments that have shaped my Disney journey over the years with fans on social media. Curious how it all came together from first pitch to the present-day ahead of this year’s Savannah Bananas Day at Disneyland Resort? Read on to discover how Disney became part of my story, and why this fandom keeps bringing me back inning after inning. My Love for Disney Parks Continues to Grow Stronger Like so many Disney-loving kids around the world, my passion for Disney began at a young age. Woody was always my No. 1 favorite character, and as plenty of my family members can attest to, I dressed up as him for several Halloweens growing up. When I was young, I visited Disney World with my whole family, carrying an autograph book filled with characters’ signatures and a little journal where I would write down my favorite moments from each trip. I rediscovered these notebooks a few years ago, and while my elementary school handwriting was very tough to read, the pages brought my early love for Disney magic to life, proving that it has been a major part of my personality from the very beginning. During Bananas games, we see special moments created for fans every single day, whether we are traveling on the road or hosting a marquee matchup in Savannah. That same feeling comes to life throughout the Disney parks, where moments big and small are created for guests and serve as an authentic reminder of how special Disney truly is. Of course, Disney is about the rides and the food, which I can point to on so many of my trips as an adult. But what always brings me back is seeing the parks through the eyes of a kid, taking me back to my own childhood. Watching one of the characters kneel down to hug a child, causing the kid to burst into happy tears while their parents’ hearts soar with happiness? That’s what it’s all about, and it’s why my love for these parks has only continued to grow stronger over the years. Planning a Disney Day is a Dream My favorite thing in the entire world is to create fun content for our fans. My favorite place to be in the entire world is Disney. Bringing these two things together truly takes me to a happy place, and over the years, I have been lucky enough to pick up a few tips and tricks during my many visits to the parks. When I’m playing in the parks, I love embracing a spontaneous sense of fun, while still making sure that I’m able to tailor and plan out my day if I have any content ideas. One tip that I encourage everyone to try on their next vacation: take it easy on your first night and head to Disney Springs at Walt Disney World or Downtown Disney District at Disneyland Resort before jumping into the parks. It builds a sense of excitement about going into the parks without being inside just yet, and it’s something that I do every time I visit Disney World or Disneyland Resort. Tough to say, but here we go: The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror, Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind, Kilimanjaro Safaris, and Avatar Flight of Passage. Disney Pin Trading Remains a Huge Passion Believe it or not, pins have been a huge part of my life since I was a kid. For those who don’t know, Cooperstown, New York, is home to the National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum and Cooperstown Dreams Park, a must-do youth baseball experience for 12U baseball families across the country. Travel teams from across the United States compete in tournaments here every year, and every single team brings their own “team pin” to trade with players and coaches from all these different teams. The only problem? I never had the chance to play in that tournament. To fill the void, I’d go to Disney with my family and start securing pins of my own, often featuring Mickey Mouse and some of my other favorite characters (looking at you again, Woody!). Fast forward all these years later, I began noticing so many of our fans wanting to trade things like bracelets and pins at games. That sparked my interest in Disney pin trading all over again and kicked off a newfound passion that I now get to share with fans. How cool is that? It’s a super fun atmosphere to be able to hunt for the coolest and most exclusive pins, especially when they’re rare and hard to find. The world always needs more joy, and it is a blast to be able to make connections with pin fans around the world. My North Star? A Mickey pin where he’s playing baseball with a “Go Bananas” printed across the top. It now lives on a small Disney pin pad that I have at home, and it’s staying there forever. Energy and Dedication Are Part of the Disney Dream Follow your energy. Our team talks about this heading into each of our games, whether we’re in Savannah, New York, Anaheim, or anywhere across the country. Our committed fanbase brings an incredible level of passion and excitement that helps fuel our squad, and that same infectious enthusiasm was certainly felt at last year’s event at Disneyland. We were able to do a lot of cool things last year at Savannah Bananas Day but being able to cheer and dance along Main Street, U.S.A., last year was definitely a highlight. And yes, even though it’s only a year old, Celebrate Happy by The Jonas Brothers is already my favorite song of all-time after our music video was filmed at Disneyland last year. Recently, our team had the chance to play at the Superdome in New Orleans, and it reminded me so much of my last visit to Walt Disney World, where I stayed at Disney’s Port Orleans Resort – French Quarter. The attention to detail, food, and immersive feeling completely surrounds you, making you feel like you’re in the heart of the city. That same energy is something that I feel every time I visit the parks, whether it’s experiencing an attraction like Tiana’s Bayou Adventure (take a look above at our team picture) or sharing a special moment with fans along the way. Disney continues to feel like the perfect place to celebrate, connect, and let loose with the energy and passion of those around you, and the feeling never gets old. Celebrating Savannah Bananas Day at Disneyland 2026 Last year’s Savannah Bananas Day was unforgettable, but we took things to the next level this year with even more events, entertainment, and chances to connect with our loyal fans. This year, we brought performances to Disney California Adventure park and Disneyland park, making sure people at both parks got the full Bananas experience. You may have even spotted us dancing or filming TikToks across the resort today. Disney continues to hold a special place in my heart, from childhood memories as a kid who grew up loving Toy Story and Woody to the special moments like this that I now get to share with our fans. Disney World’s old Genie+ era is officially retired, packed into a crate, and wheeled backstage. The current setup is Lightning Lane Multi Pass, Lightning Lane Single Pass, and Lightning Lane Premier Pass. So if you’ve still got FastPass or Genie+ floating around in your brain like an outdated park map, it’s time for a refresh. Lighting Lane Disney now lets guests using Lightning Lane Multi Pass choose up to three experiences and arrival windows in advance, while Lightning Lane Single Pass covers certain headliners that are not part of Multi Pass. D23 In late March 2026, Disney announced details on this year’s Legends ceremony, which will take place at the D23 Event and will once again be hosted by longtime Disney-affiliated host Ryan Seacrest. The 2026 class of Disney Legend inductees includes: Chris Berman: A longtime ESPN personality well known for hosting NFL Primetime and bestowing alliterative nicknames on athletes. Jerry Bruckheimer: A legendary Hollywood producer well known for countless hit films, including the Pirates of the Caribbean and National Treasure franchises. Susan Egan: Broadway actress who originated the role of Belle in the Broadway musical adaptation of Beauty and the Beast, and provided the voices of Megara in Hercules and Rose Quartz in Steven Universe. Eric Goldberg: Longtime Disney animator best known for being the lead animator of the Genie in Aladdin, amongst countless other memorable characters. Anne Hathaway: Academy Award-winning actress known for numerous memorable roles, including in The Princess Diaries franchise for Disney. He was named president of Disney in 2000, and succeeded Michael Eisner as CEO in 2005. During his initial tenure, Iger spearheaded the acquisitions of LucasFilm, Marvel, and 20th Century Fox. Iger first stepped down from the role in 2020, passing on the CEO title to Bob Chapek. He remained with the company, serving as He then was Executive Chairman until his formal retirement from the company on December 31, 2021. However, as controversy surrounding Chapek’s tenure continued to grow, Iger made a shocking return to the company and its CEO position on November 20th, 2022. Iger held the post until March 17th, 2026, when he passed the CEO title to Josh D’Amaro. The ceremony is scheduled for Sunday, August 16th, the final day of the event. When Adventure Bay opens at Disney Adventure World on March 29, guests will be welcomed into an entirely new era of storytelling made possible only at Disneyland Paris. As the sun sets each evening, the grand lake will take center stage and transform into “Disney Cascade of Lights,” a groundbreaking spectacular featuring hundreds of drones, choreographed fountains, projections, water screens, and pyrotechnics. From the earliest days of development, the team at Disney Live Entertainment knew they wanted to tell a story that felt distinct. Together, they centered their narrative on something both timeless and universal: heroes. Not just the iconic Disney characters we’ve grown up with, but also the everyday heroes in the audience who do incredible things in their everyday lives. This idea became the creative heartbeat of the show. But bringing that vision to life on a lake surrounded by guests required a whole new way of thinking. A lake for a stage meant the “actors” of the show would be figurative — fountains, lights, water screens, pyrotechnics and, for the first time in a Disney Parks nighttime spectacular, a fleet of aquatic drones. Brand-New Aquatic Drones Elevate the Performance Early virtual programming helped outline the flow of the show, but when the team finally transitioned to seeing it live on the lake, that’s when the story found its soul. Together they finetuned cue after cue, from lighting and media to pyro. Absolutely nothing was left unturned, with every detail carefully shaped to ensure each moment lived up to the team’s vision. While aerial drones provide soaring imagery, the brand-new aquatic drones push the boundaries of nighttime entertainment in an exciting new direction. Skimming just above the surface of the water, they bring the show closer to the audience than ever, deepening the sense of immersion. Disneyland Paris is no stranger to drone technology, but this new approach introduced a unique challenge as the drones would need to perform in damp conditions and in close proximity to pyrotechnics. To meet that demand, the standard drones were upgraded to be more durable and waterproof. The entire show is anchored by a sweeping orchestral score recorded at Abbey Road Studios in London, giving it a cinematic richness and an unexpected immersion that envelops the audience no matter where they stand. A Signature Song Makes Its Nighttime Debut At its heart is the show’s original song, We Can Be Heroes, an anthem celebrating the hero within each of us and one of the earliest creative elements to take shape. From the first demo, the team knew the song had emotion, texture, and embodied the heroic spirit. If you love horror and are already making plans for Halloween this year, we’ve got some big news. Mr. Cupcake at Freddy Fazbear’s Pizzeria, an example of the event’s unique treat offerings from the 2025 event. Now, we’ve already learned a little bit about this year’s Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Orlando, including the theme for 2026, as well as a brand new haunted house that will debut this year. Well, now, we’ve got even MORE big news: Universal just released the full list of dates for this year’s event. The theme for this year’s Halloween Horror Nights is Infernal Carnival of Nightmares, and it will be hosted by Jack the Clown and Dr. Oddfellow. The two will also star in a brand new haunted house, Jack & Oddfellow: Chaos & Control. Torture Faire Scare Zone The event will run from August 28th through November 1st, but now we have a full list of dates for this year’s Halloween Horror Nights. Starting in August, the event will run from August 28th through 30th. Prices for those dates for single-night tickets are $114 per ticket. ©Universal In September, you’ll be able to attend Halloween Horror Nights every Wednesday through Sunday of the month. Depending on the night, ticket prices range from $88 to $114. As expected, tickets for weekends are generally more expensive than tickets on weekdays. ©Universal The schedule is the same for October: every Wednesday through Sunday. Ticket prices start to go up this month and range in price from $91 to $10. Note that it’s cheaper to go on Halloween than on the two Saturdays prior to Halloween. ©Universal There’s one final event on November 1st, for those folks who just want to keep the Halloween spirit alive just a little while longer (and we get it). Ticket prices for November 1st are $100. ©Universal Other ticket options are available, including Multi-Night tickets, the Frequent Fear Pass, the RIP tour, and more. Tickets are available now, so if you have plans on attending, you’ll want to grab them quickly, as many dates will sell out. Usually, it’s weird to think about the holiday season so early in the year, but if you’re planning a Disney World vacation, it’s a different story! Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmastime Parade Disney makes holiday announcements MONTHS in advance so that fans can plan their trips and purchase their tickets with time to spare. We typically see these holiday celebration announcements a little later in the year, but right now, we’ve got a hint about a popular offering returning! A new listing was made on the Disney Auditions website looking for inline skating performers to join Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmastime Parade in 2026! This likely means that the beloved Christmas parade will be coming back this year. ©Disney To take this role, you’ll need to have weekly availability beginning late September through January 1st. Submissions are accepted now through May 17th. The skaters! The parade typically performs twice a night during Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party in Magic Kingdom, then runs during the daytime the week of Christmas. Disney hasn’t yet announced the dates for the Christmas party in 2026, but we’ll be on the lookout. Once Upon a Christmastime Parade We’ll keep our eyes peeled for any other audition postings that could give us hints for the holiday season. A major new themed expansion is coming to the United Kingdom… and we’re not talking about Universal! ©Kynren The summer of 2026 will see the opening of Kynren: The Storied Lands. An expansion of the original Kynren attraction – which opened in 2016 – the will “use live-action shows to educate visitors about Britain’s history and myths.” Located in Bishop Auckland, County Durham, the original Kynren uses 90-minute performances that depict “vital moments in British history and myth spanning 2000 years,” including the Roman conquest of Britain, King Arthur’s search for the Holy Grail, and Winston Churchill’s “Finest Hour” speech during WWII. ©Peter Haygarth The upcoming expansion is set to build on that with several distinct themed areas and shows, including: First, there’s the Trusty Stead, a horse stunt show adapted from Fina and the Golden Cape, which will feature medieval knights clashing on horseback, a fearless female warrior showing off her courage in a breathtaking display of horsemanship and daring stunts, enormous sets, stunning special effects, and the real Auckland Palace as the backdrop. This “powerful equestrian spectacle” will blend emotional storytelling with world-class horsemanship, daring stunts, and cinematic scale to create a “medieval world shaped by power, injustice, and courage.” The show’s protagonist is “a young woman whose life is torn apart — and the extraordinary bond she forges with a wild horse that will change her destiny forever.” The Legend of the Wear, a water-based stunt show based on the local legend of the Lambton Worm, featuring water effects, fight scenes, and stunts on a large lake, apparently including a monstrous, cursed creature that emerges from the water. The Lost Feather, a bird show featuring 300 birds, is staged in a purpose-built 3,600-seat arena with a massive stage inspired by a bird’s nest. The show is described as a visually stunning free-flying bird show centered around the relationship between birds and humanity. A Viking-themed area where warriors clash and fires rage as part of a multi-sensory demonstration of the legendary warriors. A Victorian Imaginarium, where guests will enter a “Victorian library where imagination has escaped from the pages.” As they wander through an outdoor storytelling maze, guests will “encounter curious characters, inventive minds and theatrical surprises inspired by the wonder and creativity of the Victorian age.” This area will eventually tie to a larger Victorian Village planned for a future phase of development (currently targeted for 2027, subject to planning approval). ©Kynren In addition to the village, further proposed future expansions include: The Lone Centurion — a dramatic Roman-era spectacle exploring the power, conflict, and legacy of Roman Britain. Tales of the Tudors — a vibrant theatrical experience set during one of England’s most fascinating historical periods, filled with intrigue, pageantry, and drama.
