SEE All THE Disney Loungeflys On SALE HERE!!!! A Festive Bag That Actually Feels Special — 50% OFF TODAY ©Amazon Holiday accessories can sometimes feel a little one-note, especially when they lean too heavily on basic prints. If you want something that stands out without feeling over the top, it helps to find a piece with texture and thoughtful details. The Loungefly Disney Mickey and Minnie Holiday Crossbody Bag nails that balance. The padded debossed pattern featuring snow globes, candy canes, and wreaths gives it depth, while the molded Mickey rivet and Minnie ears with a bow add just the right amount of character. It’s festive without feeling costume-like, which makes it easier to wear beyond just one occasion. view ON AMAZON A Wallet That Pulls Double Duty During Halloween — 50% OFF NOW ©Amazon Carrying a full bag isn’t always ideal during Halloween events, especially when you’re juggling snacks, drinks, and maybe even a trick-or-treat bag. That’s where a themed wallet can make a big difference. The Loungefly Disney Minnie Mouse Mummy Halloween Faux Leather Wallet works as both a functional piece and a statement accessory. The glow-in-the-dark mummy wrap adds a fun nighttime detail, and the 3D bow and ears give it that classic Minnie touch. It’s compact but still eye-catching enough to stand on its own. view ON AMAZON The Spooky-Cute Backpack That Does It All ©Amazon Some Halloween bags lean fully spooky, while others go all-in on cute. Finding one that blends both can feel like a challenge, especially if you want something versatile enough for different outfits. The Loungefly Disney Minnie Mouse Pumpkin Mini Backpack hits that sweet spot. Minnie peeks out from a jack-o’-lantern candy bowl that doubles as the front pocket, and the all-over candy and pumpkin pattern keeps things playful. The glow-in-the-dark feature and candy corn scent make it feel extra unique, especially for nighttime events. view ON AMAZON A Sparkly Bag That Transitions With You ©Amazon Not every park day looks the same. Sometimes you want a backpack for convenience, and other times a crossbody feels more comfortable. Having a bag that can switch between both styles makes things a lot easier. The Loungefly Mickey Mouse Glitter Sequin Convertible Mini Backpack & Crossbody Bag is designed for that flexibility. The ombre sequin ears shift from orange to yellow like a sunset, and the glitter details give it a bold, standout look. It’s a great option if you like accessories that feel a little more eye-catching. view ON amazon A Bag That Works From Halloween to Christmas — 51% OFF!!! ©Amazon Seasonal bags are fun, but it’s even better when you can use one across multiple holidays. If you’re trying to get more value out of your accessories, transitional designs are the way to go. The Loungefly Disney Nightmare Before Christmas Jack Mini Backpack is built for exactly that. The sweater-style pattern with pumpkins and ghosts feels festive for fall, while the reversible sequins on the front pocket let you switch between Jack Skellington and a jack-o’-lantern design. It’s playful, interactive, and easy to carry through different seasons. view ON amazon A Must-Have for Atlantis Fans ©Amazon It’s not always easy to find merch for some of Disney’s more underrated films, which makes pieces like this feel a little more special. If you’ve been wanting something that stands out from the usual characters, this is a solid pick. The Loungefly Disney Atlantis Kida Mini Backpack features Kida front and center, with her glowing necklace adding a subtle but striking detail. The side panels highlight the stones surrounding the Heart of Atlantis, which gives the whole bag a cohesive design. It’s a great way to represent a film that doesn’t always get the spotlight. view ON amazon — Selling out fast A Statement Bag for Lion King Fans ©Amazon Sometimes you want a bag that feels more interactive and a little bit bold. Standard prints are great, but moving details and vibrant colors can take things to the next level. The Loungefly Disney Lion King Mini Backpack brings that energy with a design inspired by that classic sing-along moment. The movable ostrich wings add a playful touch, and the bright colors make it stand out in a crowd. It’s the kind of bag that turns into a conversation starter during your park day. view ON amazon — selling out fast Snagging a Loungefly on sale is always a win, especially when the designs are this fun and functional. Whether you’re planning for a holiday party, a Halloween event, or just want something new for everyday wear, these bags offer a mix of personality and practicality that’s hard to beat at these price points. 3. Disney World is constantly changing, and soon there will be some things to watch out for at Magic Kingdom! Magic Kingdom In 2026, we have already seen an entire land permanently close, rides go down for refurbishment, and construction feels like it’s everywhere at Disney World. As things change, guests need to adapt and change their plans and traditions to still get the most out of their vacation — even in the middle of changes. In 2025, Magic Kingdom’s Early Theme Park Entry process changed. Rope Drop is a major way to help your Disney trip when it comes to maximizing. Rope dropping is when you go to the parks before they open to get in line so you can hop right on the rides as soon as the parks open. This can help save you tons of time for popular rides around Disney World, and we have put it to the test many times over the years. Magic Kingdom rope drop crowds Early Theme Park Entry is a perk that Disney resort guests get, and it grants them an extra 3o minutes in the mornings inside the park. In Magic Kingdom, Fantasyland and Tomorrowland open early so resort guests can enjoy the rides before anyone else. Early Entry guests can get in line in those three lands to wait until the rides open at the park. So, say early entry begins at 8:30 AM, the rides in those three lands will still open at 9 AM, but resort guests can get in line for them before anyone else. A great example of this is Tron Lightcycle/Run (which is in Tomorrowland but not included in Early Entry.) Rope Drop Crowds This also had an impact on non-resort guests as well. TRON’s rope drop line will have 30 minutes of guests waiting before non-resort guests can get in line, making the wait time pretty high early in the mornings and not really worth your rope drop time. TRON Lightcycle / Run Soon, there will be even more changes to rope drop as Buzz Lightyear Space Ranger Spin will reopen on April 8th and will be a part of Early Entry. When this reopens, many resort guests are likely going to take advantage of riding this during Early Entry, so you might want to head to it first. Buzz Lightyear That’s not the only ride coming back to the Magic Kingdom lineup! Disney has revealed that Big Thunder Mountain Railroad will reopen with new magic and the shine and polish of an all-over refurbishment in early May! While an exact reopening date has still not been announced, we’re thrilled to know that we won’t have to wait all summer to experience this ride once again. However, this is in Frontierland, which is closed for Early Entry. You’ll want to be sure to remember that when it reopens, so you don’t “waste” 30 minutes by waiting on there just to ride it with everyone else. Instead, we suggest booking a Lightning Lane for it if you plan on purchasing Multi Pass. Big Thunder Mountain Railroad To make the most out of Early Entry, we have a few tips for you. Be sure to arrive before Early Entry starts. You can go through security, scan in to the park, and be ready to go by the official start time of the perk. You don’t want to just arrive at the park at the start. Magic Kingdom’s Train Station Next, is to have your priorities in order. Know what your goals are (resort guest or not) and be willing to adjust if one wait time is already a bit too high. You don’t want to waste time trying to get every member of your party on the same page on what to ride there. The line for Seven Dwarfs Mine Train backed up Third, is to have all of your information ready. When it comes to Tron during rope drop, for resort guests it can be a great bet! You might not be able to ride the ride until 9 AM but you can get in line at 8:30 AM and, according to Cast Members, you can start putting your things in the lockers at 8:45 AM. This means you might be ready to hop on those lightcycles as soon as the clocks strike 9 AM. TRON Next for non-resort guests, remember that only Fantasyland and Tomorrowland are open for resort guests, so even though they can get in lines now, Frontierland, Adventureland, and Liberty Square will still be your best bet when it comes to rope dropping. We prefer starting in Adventureland with Jungle Cruise before heading to Pirates of the Caribbean. Line for Pirates of the Caribbean Another recommendation for non-resort guests is to consider choosing Seven Dwarfs Mine Train for your rope drop choice. If you aren’t going the Adventureland route and you want to go on a coaster first thing, Seven Dwarfs Mine Train operates during early entry, so when it’s time for you to head into the parks, this ride won’t have as long a line started by resort guests. It might still be long, but not as long as Tron. TRON Finally, a tip for everyone who is spending an early morning at Magic Kingdom — eat ahead of time. If you’re like me, you get in the zone at rope drop, and you’re solely focused on getting rides done that you forget to eat! I recommend eating a snack in your hotel room before heading to the parks and then Mobile Order breakfast to have it ready for when things slow down. Honey Butter Chicken Biscuit Breakfast Sandwich If this all feels like too much to remember, you can also consider using a travel agent! If you don’t want to go through all of the stress of booking your Disney World trip alone, you can reach out to our friends at Small World Vacations! 7. There are Disney souvenirs… and then there are Disney souvenirs with a vibe. You know the ones. The pieces that look like they were plucked from a fabulous little retro gift shop on Main Street, U.S.A., then teleported directly onto the internet just in time to wreck your budget in the cutest way possible. We’re talking old-school character art, niche fandom energy, and the kind of throwback style that makes you feel a little cooler just by setting it on your couch, tossing it in your car, or slinging it over your shoulder. ©Disney And right now, BoxLunch has some seriously fun vintage-inspired Disney finds on sale, including a Mickey crossbody, a gloriously chaotic Cruella car sunshade, a Fantasia throw, a retro 101 Dalmatians quilt, and a Toy Story denim cosmetic bag. In other words: this sale is serving nostalgia with a side of “well, I guess this is mine now.” DISCLOSURE: This post may contain affiliate links, meaning when you click the links and make a purchase, we receive a commission. Let’s get into the goodies, shall we? 1. Loungefly Disney Mickey Mouse Vintage Crossbody Bag Listen. Mickey merch is everywhere. But vintage Mickey merch? That hits different. This Loungefly crossbody has that old-school Disney look that feels a little more collector, a little less “I panic-bought this in the resort gift shop while standing next to a rack of bubble wands.” It’s the kind of bag that says, “Yes, I enjoy Disney, but I also have taste and possibly a color-coded park bag strategy.” ©BoxLunch This is the kind of souvenir that doesn’t just sit on a shelf looking pretty. You can actually use it. Wear it to the parks. Wear it to brunch. Wear it while pretending your errands are whimsical and not just a series of increasingly annoying stops at Target. It gives retro Disney grown-up energy, which is honestly a public service. Also, something about a good crossbody just scratches the brain right. It’s practical. It’s cute. It makes you feel organized, even if the only things inside are lip balm, receipts, and one rogue granola bar you forgot about three weeks ago. And since this one is currently marked down, the little dopamine goblin in my brain is already doing cartwheels. Buy it here 2. Disney 101 Dalmatians Cruella De Vil Driving Sunshade I need everyone to appreciate how absolutely bonkers this item is in the best possible way. A Cruella De Vil driving sunshade is not merely a car accessory. It is a lifestyle choice. A declaration. A tiny act of vehicular theater. ©BoxLunch According to BoxLunch’s listing, this sunshade features Cruella in her “crazy driving look” and blocks 100% of UV rays, which means it’s both dramatic and functional. Frankly, that’s the dream. It’s giving old Hollywood villain chaos parked in the Publix lot, and I mean that as the highest compliment. This is exactly the kind of niche Disney item that makes affiliate shopping fun. It’s weird. It’s specific. It’s deeply unnecessary in the way that makes it instantly essential. You’re not just buying a sunshade. You’re buying the opportunity to walk back to your car and giggle every single time. And for the 101 Dalmatians fans? This is catnip. Well… dognip. Spotnip? Whatever. You get it. buy it here 3. Disney Fantasia Vintage Poster Throw This one is for the artsy Disney adults, the animation history lovers, the people who see Fantasia and instantly become ten percent more insufferably cool. BoxLunch describes this throw as cozy and designed like a vintage Fantasia poster, and that is precisely why I love it. It’s not just a blanket. It’s decor masquerading as a blanket. The kind of piece you drape over the sofa so guests think you are both cozy and cultured, when in reality you are just trying to watch TV under something soft while eating snacks that should probably be on a plate. ©BoxLunch At about 50 by 60 inches, it’s a very solid “curl up and pretend I live in a charming old cinema” size. And that’s really the magic of vintage-inspired Disney merch. It lets you bring Disney into your everyday life without screaming it from the rooftops. This throw isn’t loud. It’s not neon. It’s not a giant character face staring into your soul from across the room. It’s subtle-ish. Stylish. A little nerdy. A little elegant. A whole lot of “yes, I do have impeccable taste, thank you for noticing.” buy it here 4. Disney 101 Dalmatians Characters Retro Pattern Allover Print Reversible Quilt There’s something about retro 101 Dalmatians art that just works. The black-and-white puppy pattern, the mid-century energy, the old-school Disney charm, and the fact that puppies are inherently a winning strategy. It’s all very powerful. And this reversible quilt? Dangerous. Because once you start buying Disney bedding, it becomes very easy to justify transforming your home into a carefully curated nostalgia nest. First, it’s a quilt. Then it’s themed mugs. Then it’s a throw pillow. Then suddenly your guest room has lore. ©BoxLunch This quilt is currently on sale, and the title alone tells you everything you need to know: retro pattern, allover print, reversible. That’s a triple threat. That means you get the fun of a fandom-forward design, plus a little flexibility when you want to switch things up without actually exerting any real effort. We love low-lift whimsy in this house. Also, can we take a moment for the specific joy of useful merch? There is a special kind of satisfaction in buying something that scratches the collector itch and serves an actual purpose. It’s a comfort item, a decor piece, and a conversation starter. That’s not retail therapy. That’s retail multitasking. buy it here 5. Disney Pixar Toy Story Denim Cosmetic Bag This one is cute in a very sneaky way. A Toy Story denim cosmetic bag feels like the kind of thing you toss in your cart because it’s practical… and then two days later you realize it has become your new emotional support pouch. Suddenly, it’s holding makeup, chargers, pens, travel meds, hair ties, loose receipts, and approximately seventeen items that absolutely do not belong there but have somehow found a home. ©BoxLunch And honestly? That’s the beauty of a good cosmetic bag. This one taps into Toy Story nostalgia without going full toddler birthday party. The denim gives it that casual, vintage Americana vibe that fits the franchise weirdly well. It feels playful, but not childish. Nostalgic, but not try-hard. Like Andy’s room grew up, got organized, and decided to be chic about it. ©BoxLunch It’s also on sale right now, which makes it even more tempting for anyone who loves a souvenir that can pull its weight. Because yes, a cute collectible is fun, but a cute collectible that helps corral your purse chaos? That’s basically hero behavior. buy it here Why We’re Into These Kinds of Disney Finds The best Disney souvenirs are the ones that don’t just get admired once and then disappear into a drawer. They’re the ones you use. The bag you reach for. The blanket you keep on the couch. The quilt that makes your room feel more fun. The cosmetic pouch that holds your nonsense. The sunshade that makes your car look like Cruella borrowed it during a nervous breakdown. That’s the sweet spot. These vintage-inspired pieces also hit a very particular Disney fan nerve. They feel a little more personal. A little more specific. Less “generic souvenir wall,” more “I have curated taste and an extremely active inner child.” They’re for the people who love the deep cuts, the retro art, the throwback posters, the classic characters, and the thrill of finding merch that feels just a tiny bit unexpected. Basically, these aren’t just things. They’re tiny serotonin delivery systems. Final Add to Cart Thoughts If your Disney style leans more retro than rhinestone, this BoxLunch sale is a pretty delightful little rabbit hole. From the vintage Mickey crossbody to the Fantasia throw to the absolutely unhinged Cruella sunshade, these finds feel fun, specific, and just weird enough to be irresistible. And since they’re currently on sale, there’s an even stronger case for treating yourself to a little old-school Disney magic before these exclusives disappear. Disney Merchandise Moral of the story? Sometimes the internet is a dangerous place. Especially when it’s full of discounted Disney merch with vintage flair and absolutely zero respect for my financial boundaries. We’re always on the hunt for the latest and greatest Disney souvenirs and essentials, so don’t forget to stay tuned to the Disney Food Blog for more! View the full article

  10. While the main point of a Disney World vacation is to visit the resort’s four theme parks, there are some days when it’s better to do NOTHING but kick back and enjoy one’s hotel. Pool at Polynesian These Do-Nothing Days usually consist of spending time relaxing at one’s hotel and taking advantage of its amenities, including pools, walking trails, bodies of water, and dining establishments. While some guests may initially recoil at the idea of “wasting” one of their vacation days outside of the parks, there are some definite benefits. Enjoying the Pools As we mentioned above, one of the best uses of a Do-Nothing Day is the ability to take advantage of your hotel’s pool. From heavily themed slides and spacious bathing areas to funky pool bars and even elements that bring them close to being a full-on water park, numerous Disney hotels across all three price tiers offer outstanding feature pools (and other, more docile, quiet pools) that guests should take a day to enjoy. The Dig Site Rest Your Body Speaking of relaxing in the pool, one of the best uses of a Do-Nothing Day — especially in the middle of your trip — is to rest your body after a few theme park days, so you’ll be feeling relaxed for your final few theme park days. This is especially true for us 90s kids, who are getting older whether we like it or not. Beau Soliel Pool Chairs Kids Can Still Get Their Character Kicks As part of the returning Cool Kids Summer promotion — which runs from May 26th to September 8th — Disney characters will be appearing in scheduled meet & greets at select Walt Disney World hotels. First introduced in 2025, this game-changing perk allows guests to experience character encounters that were previously park-exclusive on days when they choose not to leave their hotels. This can be especially helpful for parents who want to have a bit of a cool-down day at their resort, while still being able to appease kiddos who are yearning for some Disney magic. Character Meet and Greet sign at Disney’s Port Orleans Resort Dine at a Hotel or Disney Springs Restaurant After spending a few relaxing hours by the pool, you can cap your Do-Nothing Day by dining at an out-of-park restaurant, either in your own hotel, at another, or even at Disney Springs. So, what’s the best way to choose said restaurant? Our Guide to Disney World Dining pulls it all together so you can stop stressing and focus on the best meal for your family. 11. Welcome back to Perfect Pairings, where Laura and I bravely head into EPCOT with open minds, empty stomachs, and a very serious commitment to snacks. This time, we’re tackling Garden Graze at the EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival to sample five plant‑based bites that made it to our must-eats list. And what’s a festival bite without the perfect sip? With the help of Katie, our recipe maven from Disney Eats, we’re breaking down what we ate, what we drank, and exactly why these pairings work so well. Stay tuned, because after you’ve strolled through with us to discover the perfect food and drink pairings and gathered all your passport stamps, I’ll show you the complimentary Garden Graze festival treat. How to Complete Garden Graze at EPCOT Grazing through EPCOT is easy — you’ve trained for this. Just pick up a festival passport and try at least five of the qualifying menu items scattered around the park. Garden Graze Menu Items: Poke Bowl at Nectar Hosted by AdventHealth Coconut Panna Cotta at Nectar Hosted by AdventHealth Grilled Street Corn on the Cob at Beach Grub Lumpia at The Citrus Blossom Lemon Tart at The Citrus Blossom Coconut-Chocolate Flan Bizcocho at La Isla Fresca Seasonal Fruit Parfait at Refreshment Outpost Hosted by Coca-Cola Potato Pancakes at Bauernmarkt: Farmer’s Market Here’s the hardest part of spending your day eating amazing food: Each time at checkout, make sure to ask the cast member to stamp your passport. You could eat every single item on the list, but if you forget the stamp, you’re basically just enjoying a snack like a person without a grazing mission … and where’s the glory in that? The best part is you can repeat a Garden Graze menu item you love and earn another stamp for it, even across different visits. So, if you want five servings of street corn … we don’t judge here at Disney Parks Blog. Once you’ve collected five stamps, head over to the redemption location for your prize and feel very accomplished (and likely full). Chef Tony Talks Perfect Pairings Before heading out to the Flower & Garden Festival, I got some insight into perfect festival pairings from Chef Tony, the chef de cuisine for the festival. Tony told us that the menu items you’ll be tasting this year likely started with a quick sketch, “I carry a small sketchbook with me at all times to jot down notes, make quick drawings of food, and capture inspiration through photos.” His team then develops the concept, scales it to an Outdoor Kitchen serving size, and takes care of every detail. Tony said, “[We] plan every step of the execution—from preparation to elegant finishing touches, such as fine sea salt or custom-grown microgreens.” Tony also let us know that the culinary and beverage teams work very closely to develop festival food and drink pairings. Tony said, “We have created dishes inspired by beverages, and beverages inspired by entrées. Our team collaborates closely and regularly tastes these items together to achieve the optimal pairing and guest experience.” And finally, Tony talked to us about how the culinary team taps into cast member knowledge to make sure that international dishes bring authentic flavors around World Showcase. “The most effective way to achieve authenticity in a dish or flavor profile is to collaborate with someone who has the relevant heritage or experience. At EPCOT, we are fortunate to have a culturally diverse cast that represents communities from around the world. Often, we don’t have to look far to find expertise.” Nectar Hosted by AdventHealth Location: Near The Land Our Pairing: Poke Bowl and a refreshing non-alcoholic Frozen Island Escape smoothie This cute kiosk is found right next to the butterfly garden, so after you’ve met a few new winged friends, flutter over to this outdoor kitchen. The Poke Bowl featured a bed of soft sticky rice with a delightful mix of edamame, avocado, mango, pickled red onions, and seaweed salad. There was a generous sprinkling of furikake on top, finished off with a drizzle of house-made umami sauce. All three of us loved the fresh flavors. Katie said between bites, “Each bite hits a slightly different note in the best way. The sprinkle of furikake adds that savory, toasty magic, and the sauce pulls everything together, so it tastes balanced and satisfying.” And for a touch of sweetness, the Frozen Island Escape smoothie came through with just the right fruity flavors, Minute Maid Peach and Mango. To keep it chilled, an Outshine Frozen Mini Fruit Pop was stuck right in the top! As it slowly melts, it blended into the smoothie, adding little bursts of extra fruity flavor and turned this drink into part beverage, part treat. Katie and Rain enjoy a lemonade, some corn, and the great outdoors. Beach Grub Location: Walkway between World Showcase and Imagination! Pavilion Our Pairing: Grilled Street Corn on the Cob with a non-alcoholic Strawberry-Basil Lemonade The Grilled Street Corn on the Cob has filled my Instagram feed since the start of the fest. Handheld, juicy, and packed with flavor … let’s just say I’ve been influenced. The whole cob was coated with savory garlic spread and features Boursin Dairy-Free Garlic & Fine Herbs Cheese. The corn is grilled outside here in the open air by Beach Grub, right next to Playalong Bay presented by Smucker’s, creating a cool picnic vibe. The corn is a full-sized cob, and we were so right about our lemonade pairing. Laura also raved about this famous hand-held snack. “The grilled street corn completely lives up to the hype. It has a really bold garlic flavor and a creamy finish. And don’t miss the extra corn inside the foil wrapping!” We paired the corn with the Strawberry-Basil Lemonade, betting on a savory-sweet combo. This refreshing drink has Minute Maid Premium Lemonade with strawberry-hibiscus syrup garnished with basil. Katie said of the pairing, “The rich, garlicky corn brings bold flavor that begs for something bright to balance it out. The Strawberry‑Basil Lemonade delivers exactly that, with crisp citrus and subtle herbal notes that cut through the richness and refresh the palate between every bite.” I came back the next week to eat this flan again; a dream snack for a lactose-intolerant girl. La Isla Fresca Location: Between France & Morocco Our Pairing: Coconut-Chocolate Flan Bizcocho and the Bold Rock Paradise Orchard Hard Cider The Coconut-Chocolate Flan Bizcocho has a smooth coconut custard on top of a soft chocolate cake, bathing in a pool of passion fruit caramel. For those who want a plant-based alternative to traditional flan, this is a rare treat. Laura said, “The chocolate brings the deep flavors, and the coconut custard brings that silky, beachy vibe. I like how the passion fruit caramel is a whole other layer of flavor to each bite.” Katie loves a good cider from Bold Rock, and the Paradise Orchard Hard Cider didn’t disappoint. “Pairing this new hard cider with the Coconut-Chocolate Flan Bizcocho is such a good move, because it gives you that bright sip to play against the dessert’s chocolate-and-coconut richness.” The garden party is on at the Refreshment Outpost this year! Refreshment Outpost Hosted by Coca-Cola Location: Outpost between China and Germany Our Pairing: Seasonal Fruit Parfait with the Boyd & Blair Lavender Martini There’s so much chilled fruit in the Seasonal Fruit Parfait, which will always serve you well on a Florida afternoon, and the gentle heat of the sweet chili sauce snuck in with each bite. The creamy DOLE Whip Mango combined so well with the cold fruit chunks. Katie really enjoyed the lavender touches in the Boyd & Blair Lavender Martini, “The lavender is fragrant without being overpowering. It’s floral, yes, but grounded. The cocktail itself stays crisp and smooth from start to finish.” Laura said, “This drink feels like stepping into a garden party. It’s the kind of relaxing and refined drink you sip slowly. It’s elegant and has such an earthy flavor when sipped alongside the parfait.” Our orange slice table in the Citrus Blossom lounge was perfect for a Lumpia moment. The Citrus Blossom Location: Odyssey Our Pairing:Lumpia with plant-based pork and the beer and hard cider flight The afternoon at EPCOT was heating up, so it was a great time to partake in some air conditioning and eats inside the Odyssey. The Lumpia with plant-based pork was presented as three spring rolls with a side of yuzu sweet-and-sour, next to a bed of green papaya salad. We each dedicated ourselves to a roll, and Katie had to give her approval, “The Lumpia with plant-based pork is perfectly savory, in these bite-sized spring rolls just begging to be dunked into the zingy yuzu sweet-and-sour sauce. I wouldn’t know this was plant-based if someone hadn’t told me.” Laura said, “This refreshing green papaya salad adds just the right pop of crunch and brightness. It helps the whole plate feel light yet satisfying.” Beverage Flight (beers/cider): ACE Cider Orange Groves Hard Cider (New) Central 28 Beer Company Grapefruit Pale Ale (New) BrewDog Brewing Company Five Limes Cerveza (New) What better to go with three cute rolls than three cute drinks? I encourage you to try each brew as you bite, but the Central 28 Beer Company Grapefruit Pale Ale reigned as our pick for pairing with the lumpia. Katie said of our favorite pairing, “The bright citrus notes of the pale ale cut perfectly through the savory richness of the plant‑based pork lumpia, making every bite taste even more crisp and balanced.” When we say ‘reward’, we mean it; this is one of our favorite swirls yet. Our Sweet Reward in a Souvenir Cup Location: Pineapple Promenade Near Port of Entry Treat: Vanilla Soft-Serve and DOLE Whip Pineapple For me, this one is pure happiness in dessert form; I can’t have a lot of lactose in my diet, so a creamy plant-based treat is always the dream. The Vanilla and DOLE Whip Pineapple is a perfect mix of creamy and tangy, with the vanilla keeping things smooth and the pineapple bringing just enough zing to make every bite refreshing. This treat is served in a souvenir Garden Graze cup that will keep me thinking back to our day each time I use it at home. A well-deserved reward for all our dedicated grazing through the gardens. 14. Disney World is in a state of transformation, with massive construction projects, refurbishments, and ride closures dotting the resort’s landscape. Of all these projects, there’s perhaps no transformation eliciting reactions at the moment quite like the Muppets takeover of the Rock ’n’ Roller Coaster. The guitar The coaster first opened in 1999 and has featured American rock band Aerosmith since its inception. However, in 2024, Disney announced that the attraction would be rethemed to feature the Muppets, who had recently been announced as being evicted from their longtime attraction, MuppetVision*3D, to make room for Monsters, Inc. at Hollywood Studios. When we shared a post documenting the long lines that accompanied the Aerosmith version’s last day on March 1st, we received a litany of responses that… questioned (to put it mildly) the decision. @TheCody_716 expressed their opinion bluntly, writing, “The Muppets idea is a flop. I can’t believe they didn’t do A Goofy Movie, even High School (Musical) using the limo as a theme to rush to prom or graduation, or even Radio Disney with Disney music as a whole. The Muppets was a TERRIBLE decision,” while @countmcdantes wrote, “This is what a deaf C Suite looks like. Ravaging an established ride that so many love because they can figure out what to do with other aspects of their IP.” Ouch. Other readers took a more melancholy tone. @khan145527 wrote of the reaction to the closure, “Power of memories, some in this line remember their late dad, how it was his favorite ride, remember how they rode it in 2002 with their siblings who loved it. One last time, reliving these memories.” @Pathogen0 expressed their own love for the ride, writing, “Thank you, Aerosmith, thank you for all the memories and all the thrills and for the love in a roller-coaster.” Aerosmith’s presence on the Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster was a major change for Disney at the time. However, not every response was angry or sad. As @stevemcniven pointed out, “I mean it’s gonna functionally be the exact same ride, just new overlay. Seems strange to spend hours saying goodbye to… Aerosmith, who haven’t been relevant for decades.” Opinions on the ride have remained split since the closure, as evidenced by the responses we received to a Facebook post detailing the new paint job that Disney added to the hanging convertible at the ride’s entrance. Reader Jack fell on the angry side, writing, “It’s a shame! Muppets are NOT an appropriate rebrand. Another rock band, yes. The Muppets, no!” The classic Rock ‘n Roller Coaster Reader Sonya expressed a similar sentiment on a related post featuring the new look car, writing, “I don’t like the Muppets. It should still be a rock music ride.” However, they were rebuked by fellow reader Justin, who pointed out that, “It’s still going to be a rock music ride. The Electric Mayhem plays harder rock than anything by Aerosmith.” ©Disney Meanwhile, reader Gabe expressed the opinion that “Nobody asked for Muppets Rock ’n’ Roller Coaster.” Unfortunately for Gabe, several readers did very much express excitement, with Kari writing, “Looks great!!”, and John exclaiming, “Wow, that looks awesome.” The NEW car! In a different post, reader Stephen defended the choice, writing, “With all due respect to Aerosmith and the original theme- I’m a Muppet guy first and foremost, and I cannot wait for this transformation! I’m sure they will work in an Easter egg or two to pay homage to the original ride that we all loved!” ©Disney As you can see, opinions on social media are still split — to say the least — about the upcoming Muppet takeover of the Rock ’n’ Roller Coaster. 15. Some big things are coming to Disney World. We’re getting new lands, expansions, updated rides, and more. In EPCOT, the BIG transformation is complete, but that doesn’t mean that EPCOT isn’t about to get something exciting: an updated version of Soarin’. Soarin’ Around the World This year marks the 250th anniversary of the U.S., and Disney plans on celebrating by updating Soarin’ Around the World to Soarin’ Across America. The updated ride will feature brand new scenes, but a new permit suggests that the ride may be getting even MORE big changes. Disney has filed a new permit for Soarin’ for installing set elements, which suggests that some other changes are coming to Soarin’ beyond the new film. The work will be done by Icarus Exhibits, a company that specializes in custom theming for “fully immersive elements.” The company’s portfolio includes elements for TRON Lightcycle / Run, Toy Story Land, Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, Rapunzel’s Tower in Magic Kingdom’s Fantasyland, and more Disney properties. ©Disney | View of the Grand Canyon in the new version of Soarin’ Soarin’ is predominantly a screen attraction, so it’s unclear what kind of set elements might be added to the ride, but if we had to guess, this could be for an update to the ride’s queue. Disney has not yet provided many details about the Soarin’ update, but the ride will close on May 13th to make way for the updates. ©Disney The ride will reopen as Soarin’ Across America on May 26th, 2026, so whatever changes are happening, they will be done in just a few short weeks, according to Disney World’s schedule. We’ll keep an eye out for more Soarin’ updates, so stay tuned to DFB for more. 18. There’s no denying the appeal of visiting Disney World during a special time of the year. New Year’s Eve Fireworks However, reality is that there are certain days that will likely be better spent in the comfort of a Disney World hotel. 4th of July 4th of July is ALWAYS a crowded day at Disney parks, and considering the holiday falls on a Saturday in 2026 and it marks America’s Semiquincentennial (AKA the country’s 250th birthday), things will be especially jammed. In other words, even if you’ll be at Disney World during the first week of July, you’re likely better off spending the day relaxing by your hotel pool. Plus, if you choose your hotel right, you’ll be able to see one of the fireworks displays right from your hotel. Parking tram crowds on the 4th of July Christmas Day While many guests choose to spend the Christmas holiday at Walt Disney World, it may be nice to spend Christmas Day itself at your hotel. You can have a full Christmas morning in your room, even decorate a bit, and relax most of the day, enjoying the amenities and laid-back environment. Disney’s Wilderness Lodge Resort Then you can grab a holiday dinner from the resort’s restaurant. Plus, if you don’t want to sit down at said restaurant, certain Table Service restaurants at Disney hotels offer Mobile Order Table Service To Go. You can mobile order the same way they would at a theme park, pick up your food at the restaurant during your selected arrival window, and carry your meal to another area of the hotel or your room to eat. ©Disney If you’re having trouble deciding which hotel offers the best Holiday dinner for your family, our Guide to Disney World Dining has all the information you’ll need to make the best festive choice! New Year’s Eve Even July 4th’s crowds generally pale in comparison to the massive crowds that pack the Magic Kingdom and EPCOT on New Year’s Eve. Whereas you can have a nice — comparatively quiet — dinner at your hotel, plus — once again, depending on which hotel — see one of the midnight fireworks shows. Skyliner crowds at EPCOT on New Year’s Eve However, one word of warning, you may need to make sure you’re at your own hotel, as in previous years, prime fireworks viewing spots like the Polynesian’s beach (which is usually open to the public) have been available exclusively to the hotel’s guests on New Year’s Eve. ©Disney Tourist Blog If you’re planning on spending some major days in Disney World this year, a few of them may be better spent at a Disney World resort. 19. It’s almost time for the gates to open at World of Frozen, the newest and most anticipated expansion coming to Disneyland Paris. Beginning March 29, 2026, the resort’s newly reimagined second park, Disney Adventure World, will welcome one of the most immersive lands created, bringing Walt Disney Animation Studios’ Frozen to life. Every detail found here is absolutely worth melting for. From Elsa’s shimmering Ice Palace high atop the North Mountain to the cozy charm of Arendelle Village, the land feels like stepping directly from screen to reality. Below is your guide to the iconic locations and immersive experiences waiting for you when World of Frozen opens. Step Inside Arendelle Castle For the first time in forever, you can step inside Arendelle Castle at Disney Adventure World and feel as though you’ve wandered straight into the animated films. The familiar stone façade rises gracefully beyond the water and the castle’s iconic bridge welcomes everyone into the kingdom. Subtle glimmers of Elsa’s Ice Magic decorate the exterior with icy, delicate wintery touches. Inside, the story continues. As you make your way to greet Anna and Elsa at A Royal Encounter, take a moment to chat with the portraits lining the hallway. You might recognize a familiar face — hang in there, Joan! Where Anna Met Hans Down by the water, you’ll find the exact spot where Anna and Hans experienced their whirlwind meet-cute in the first Frozen film. The boat Anna falls into, and from which she is “rescued” by the Prince of the Southern Isles, is docked right in Arendelle Bay. It’s a perfect screen to reality recreation of one of the movie’s most memorable moments. Love Is an Open Door We’ve been waiting our whole lives to finally stand before the clock tower and lighthouse where Anna and Hans dance through Love Is an Open Door. These landmarks rise proudly in Arendelle Village, instantly transporting you back to that starry-eyed scene from the film. And at the top of every hour, be sure to listen closely — the familiar notes of Do You Want to Build a Snowman? echo through the kingdom from the clock tower. Elsa’s Ice Palace One of the most breathtaking sights in the land is Elsa’s Ice Palace, towering above Arendelle. Covered in thousands of crystal-like details that catch the light, the palace shimmers over the entire kingdom. It’s a stunning piece of craftsmanship that instantly transports you into the story and reminds you why this world has captured so many hearts. Meeting Olaf Discover the place where Olaf first met Anna, Kristoff and that “funky looking donkey” named Sven during their journey to the North Mountain. You can see this location brought to life on Frozen Ever After, where Olaf and Sven return among the shimmering trees of the ice forest — another screen to reality transformation. Let It Go on Frozen Ever After On Frozen Ever After, your journey leads to one of the movie’s most iconic scenes: the moment Elsa unleashes her Ice Magic during Let It Go. As your boat glides into the Ice Palace, shimmering ice forms around you, snow swirls in the air and Elsa’s anthem fills the space. Marshmallow and the Snowgies At the frosty finale of Frozen Ever After, you’ll encounter Marshmallow standing guard in all his towering, snow packed glory. Surrounding him are mischievous Snowgies, first introduced in the Disney Animation short Frozen Fever, giggling and bouncing their way through the snow. Friendship Fountain At the heart of Arendelle Village sits Friendship Fountain, one of the many touches of Elsa’s Ice Magic found throughout the land. Its delicate frozen fractals represent the act of true love that saved Anna in the first film — a reminder of the unbreakable bond between the sisters. A Purr-fect Detail We’re not kitten when we say World of Frozen is filled with delightful details. One of the sweetest Easter eggs is shared between Disneyland Paris and Hong Kong Disneyland. Inside Nordic Crowns Tavern, look above the doorway and spot one of the adorable cats from the Disney Animation short Olaf’s Frozen Adventure. The second cat appears at the Golden Crocus Inn at Hong Kong Disneyland — a purr-fect connection. Every corner of World of Frozen has been crafted with extraordinary care, heart and storytelling. With iconic locations from Disney Animation’s Frozen bringing the movie from screen to reality, it’s a chance to walk inside the world we have loved for over a decade. It’s about to be that much cooler at Disneyland Paris now that World of Frozen is opening on March 29, 2026. 20. In case you forgot, Disney is building a theme park on Yas Island in Abu Dhabi. While Disney hasn’t shared many details, the Chief Executive Officer of Miral, the company working with Disney to build the park, has shared an update. ©Disney According to Mohamed Abdalla Al Zaabi’s LinkedIn post, the two companies recently met to discuss next steps. Al Zaabi met with Tasia Filippatos, who recently became President and Managing Director of Disney Parks International, in London. The LinkedIn post said, “Tasia brings with her a remarkable depth of global experience and a proven track record in shaping world-class destination experiences, underpinned by a strong strategic vision for the future of the industry.” ©LinkedIn The post also said, “Our discussions were both insightful and forward-looking, reinforcing the importance of strong international partnerships in driving innovation and excellence across the industry. As we continue to advance our collaboration on #DisneyAbuDhabi on #YasIsland, we at Miral are excited about the opportunities ahead to create a truly iconic destination for the #UAE and the region, that brings #Disney storytelling to life in new and inspiring ways.” ©Disney This theme park will be the seventh Disney theme park and the first in the United Arab Emirates. Miral has worked with companies to build other theme parks in the area, and this time, Miral will fully develop and build the new resort while Disney and its Imagineers will lead creative design and operational oversight. ©Disney In the initial announcement, Al Zaabi said the park will be the “most innovative” and “most advanced” theme park yet. It will also be an indoor theme park, and if the entire park is planned indoors, it will be a first for Disney. The park will also “combine Disney’s iconic stories, characters, and attractions with Abu Dhabi’s vibrant culture, stunning shorelines, and breathtaking architecture,” according to Disney. We’ll continue to share updates about the park here, so make sure you keep following Disney Food Blog for more. 21. There’s some massive news in the AI world, as Disney was preparing to step into a deal with Sora, part of OpenAI. ©SORA Back in December, Disney announced a new partnership with OpenAI for the company to become “the first major content licensing partner on Sora,” and we were preparing to see Disney step into the three-year licensing agreement. However, in a turn of events, Disney has now backed out of the OpenAI deal after the company announced its shut down of Sora. According to The Hollywood Reporter, just months after Sora was launched, OpenAI will now shut down its Sora AI video app. In a statement announcing the change, the company stated, “We’re saying goodbye to Sora. To everyone who created with Sora, shared it, and built community around it: thank you. What you made with Sora mattered, and we know this news is disappointing. We’ll share more soon, including timelines for the app and API and details on preserving your work.” ©Getty Images In response to this, a source familiar with the matter has stated that Disney is also exiting the deal it signed with OpenAI last year. Disney stated they would invest $1 billion in the company and agreed to license some of its characters for use in Sora. Now that Sora is no longer, while the company isn’t getting out of the AI video business, Disney will no longer be working with the company. Disney CEO Josh D’Amaro When Sora first launched back in 2025, it quickly had to backtrack after its launch and give Hollywood studios and talent more control over their IP and likenesses on the platform. This is an interesting turn of events, as Disney was planning to integrate the Sora technology into the tech into Disney+ itself. Now that they’re no longer part of this deal, the question remains if something similar will be added in the future. ©Disney A Disney spokesperson is quoted saying, “As the nascent AI field advances rapidly, we respect OpenAI’s decision to exit the video generation business and to shift its priorities elsewhere. We appreciate the constructive collaboration between our teams and what we learned from it, and we will continue to engage with AI platforms to find new ways to meet fans where they are while responsibly embracing new technologies that respect IP and the rights of creators.” We’ll continue to keep you updated on all the latest news regarding this news and other related updates, so stay tuned to DFB. 23. If you’re in the mood for a sweet treat, The Cake Bake Shop Bakery has you covered and then some. The Cake Bake Shop Bakery This bakery is connected to The Cake Bake Shop Restaurant on Disney’s BoardWalk, and it’s home to some massive (and fairly pricey) treats. We have loved most of the things we have tried here, and now it’s time to review three more treats! Peanut Butter Crunch Cake Starting our list is the Peanut Butter Crunch Cake for $22. This was layers of chocolate cake with peanut butter buttercream, chocolate ganache, and crunchy chocolate pearls between the layers. Peanut Butter Crunch Cake Honestly, this cake was SPECTACULAR. That chocolate was rich and sweet, and the ganache complemented the peanut butter nicely. The peanut butter buttercream was our favorite part though — a delightful peanut butter flavor and some excellent texture from the crunchy pearls that made it more unique. Look at those layers! The cake itself was moist and thick, and, as usual, very high quality. The whole thing is sprinkled with edible glitter, which just makes it all the more magical. YUM We highly recommend this treat if you’re a chocolate and PB lover. Wowzers, y’all! Coconut Cream Pie Switching directions to a completely different flavor palette, we have the Coconut Cream Pie for $12. It’s coconut cream custard in a vanilla wafer cookie pie crust. Topped with freshly whipped cream and toasted coconut. A whole tray of them. They’re served in little cups, and most of the top that’s visible is whipped cream. In fact, about half of the serving height was whipped cream. Once you get past that layer, there’s a layer of vanilla custard, which was sweet and lightly vanilla-flavored, but not too special overall. Coconut Cream Pie At the bottom, you get a layer of coconut flakes blended with graham cracker crust. This has a very coconut-forward texture to it, so if you’re averse to that, you’ll definitely want to avoid this treat. But it was definitely the most interesting layer texturally and flavor-wise. Honestly, this snack would be best if you mixed the custard and crust layers together. Lots of whipped cream on top! Ultimately, it didn’t really feel like a pie, per se. It was more like a parfait or trifle. It was nice for coconut fans, but probably not the top item we’d choose from their menu. White Chocolate Pearl Latte Last but not least, we’ve got the White Chocolate Pearl Latte for $9. This is made with Ghirardelli white chocolate, French vanilla and almond syrups, steamed whole milk, topped with whipped cream and pearl sprinkles. Boy, is it a BEAUTY! White Chocolate Pearl Latte But sadly, the flavors didn’t quite live up to our expectations. Really, only the French vanilla and coffee flavors come through, with the almond and white chocolate getting lost. The whipped cream on top didn’t add much to the overall effect, especially because the drink was served iced, and honestly, with the iced version, the sprinkles were kind of a choking hazard. The sprinkles are very hard and sink to the bottom of the cup, so when you drink through the straw, they come shooting up the straw into your mouth unannounced. It was a little alarming. Topped with sprinkles! We were most impressed by the cake here, but of course, it is The Cake Bake Shop. We’ll be back in the future as they release more new items! 24. Nothing can ruin my trip to Disney World more than sitting in the middle of a ride and realizing this space is just too dang small. I’ll be vibing and enjoying myself when all of a sudden, I can’t find the exit, there are people everywhere, and the walls are caving in. Yeah, not really magical in my opinion. Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure Queue Because of my distaste for small spaces at Disney World, I’ve made a list of rides or attractions I just won’t do because of them. Does it mean I never do them? No, but I come prepared with headphones, a book, and plenty of anxiety medications. So if you’re like me, here are some rides I would avoid in Disney World. Mission: SPACE It actually gets closer than this Have you ever wanted to feel like an astronaut, cram yourself into a tiny capsule with three other people, and come face-to-face with a wall? No? Then you probably want to skip Mission: SPACE. It doesn’t matter if you choose green or orange; they’re both going to squish you into a capsule (and you will literally see the walls coming closer to you), and paired with an over-the-head harness, this is always a skip. Always. Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure Please! I do not want to feel like a rat This is one of those rides where the theming is almost too good. I want to give special appreciation to Walt Disney Imagineering for figuring out how to make a queue feel like you’re a rat in the sewers of Paris, but this is a feeling I typically try to avoid. The queue has a ton of twists and turns, and you can barely see ahead, and while I don’t have major issues on the ride, I’ll try to buy a Lightning Lane or only ride when the line is short since I do not want to be a rat crawling under a kitchen. Pirates of the Caribbean How I feel Pirates is on the same vibe as Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure. You’ll come across very tall walls made of stone and cement, and it will feel like you’re crawling down a cave and entering a private cell. While I do appreciate that the queue is fairly wide, it’s also very dark and has some switchbacks where you feel on top of one another. Again, I don’t usually have problems on the ride, but the queue is not my friend. Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring the Muppets How about some different harnesses? This version of Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster will be coming in summer 2026, but it will be the same ride mechanism as its predecessor, so I have a pretty idea of what’s in store. There are very few over-the-head harnesses at Disney World, and since this is the only ride with a loop, it’s been blessed with a claustrophobic harness. It’s tight. It’s bulky. It’s never a good time. Maybe seeing Kermit and the gang will make me forget about it? Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run Inside Smuggler’s Run Who doesn’t want to smother themselves in a pod with five other people and fly a hunk of junk in the galaxy? Well, I really do like this ride, and there is a fair amount of space between the seats, but keep in mind that you are literally climbing into a small space capsule. It’s also pretty stimulating and bumpy depending on how good your pilot is, and this queue is also pretty dark. If you can brave it alone, the Single Rider line might get you through the queue faster, but you won’t have your support buddy with you. Rise of the Resistance Rise of the Resistance I promise I love Star Wars — I just can’t stand their queues. Rise of the Resistance is probably one of the most impressive Disney rides I’ve ever been on, but the queue is brutal. You’ll be packed with a bunch of people like sardines (or uh, stormtroopers) and you’ll weave back and forth through a cave-like queue. There are twists and turns and high walls, and it can feel a bit trapping, especially as they shove as many people as possible into the preshow rooms. The actual ride portion? Very enjoyable, and even once you’re past the first preshow, it’s pretty fun, but getting to that point might be a bit of a struggle. Inside Rise of the Resistance I love Disney theming as much as the next person, but I also want to feel like I can breathe and move around inside. These aren’t hard-set rules, and depending on the wait time or how I’m feeling that day, I might brave the queues if I’m with the right person. These are just a few rides to keep on your radar before you charge right in. Make sure you keep following Disney Food Blog for more of the best tips and tricks for your next Disney World vacation. 25. When it comes to dining at Disney World, you’ve got a TON of options. Want something quick and easy? You’ve got it. Something middle-of-the-road and comforting? Yep, that too. And if you’re looking for something upscale and luxurious, you can find that as well. Epic Eats We recently stopped by Epic Eats at Disney’s Hollywood Studios to grab a little pick-me-up, and now we’re bringing you our review! Is it worth a stop on your next trip to the Most Magical Place on Earth? Find out here! Epic Eats serves up funnel cakes (with some seriously epic options for topping!), soft serve ice cream, and ice-cold beverages, including what brought us by on this visit — the Cold Brew Float! This treat is made with Joffrey’s Cold Brew Coffee Flavored with Madagascar Vanilla Served with Vanilla Soft-serve, and you can grab it for $6.79. Cold Brew Float This is a coffee lover’s dream — and possibly even for non-coffee lovers, too! At first, the cold brew is pretty strong, but as the ice cream starts to melt a little bit and is mixed into the cold brew, that’s when this gets REALLY delightful. Imagine a sweet, vanilla iced latte, but with the added creaminess of vanilla ice cream. SO good when mixed The vanilla flavor is pretty prominent, thanks to the combination of the vanilla cold brew and the ice cream. The way that the ice cream and cold brew mix together did create a bit of a strange texture, but it was more like a Starbucks Frappuccino — a little on the icy side rather than being smooth. Still, it tasted just fine and is something we’d definitely get again, especially if we’re looking for a caffeine pick-me-up on a hot day. This is a great treat In the meantime, we’ll be on the lookout for more restaurant updates from Disney World and beyond.
