  1. Everyone, calm down, it’s ALMOST time to rock ‘n’ roll once more! ©Disney We are just days away from the opening of Rock ‘n’ Rollercoaster Starring The Muppets on May 26th! Disney has been teasing us with first looks, merchandise sneak peeks, and new snacks to help hold us over until the big day. Now, we just got a FIRST LOOK inside the attraction’s preshow, and we are thrilled to be VIPs once again! If you thought I was excited before this moment, I am now sitting on the edge of my seat in anticipation for this ride! I seriously can’t wait to see the full preshow when the ride opens in just a few days. Behind Scooter, you can see a video feed into different recording booths with several celebrity names like Kelly Clarkson, Def Leppard, and more. Camilla the Chicken Love Rollercoaster – The Electric Mayhem ft. Jennifer Hudson & Questlove Rock! Rock! (Till You Drop) – The Electric Mayhem ft. Def Leppard Walking on Sunshine – The Electric Mayhem ft. Kelly Clarkson ©Disney The story of the ride will follow you as you’re about to be treated to a VIP tour of G-Force Records, which is under new management by The Muppets! Scooter’s uncle, real estate tycoon and owner of the Muppet Theatre, J.P. Grosse, is in charge, and the studio has gotten a makeover. On the same day as your tour, the Electric Mayhem is about to headline their biggest Hollywood concert ever… but they’re WAY too busy groovin’ inside G-Force! ©Disney Because they’re the Muppets, chaos ensues, and it’s now up to Kermit, Miss Piggy, and more pals from the Muppets to find a way to get Electric Mayhem to the concert! This preview is exactly what I needed before heading into the weekend. I can’t wait to see more of what this new attraction has to offer once it’s finally time to rock with the Muppets! 4. Growing up, every summer vacation, I looked forward to one magical day when my mom would come and knock on my door and ask if I wanted to go shopping at Old Navy. This was almost my unofficial start to the school break, because yes, I did need new flip-flops. Yes, I did need at least three different American Flag t-shirts for the year. Yes, I did need shorts, skirts, and a bathing suit or two. I remember leaving the Old Navy at the local mall with just bags upon bags of goodies. Well, guess what. As an adult, I can still capture this summer break shopping spree magic, and still do it with Old Navy — now with 100% more Disney. Dare, I say it’s even better now? Following the launch of 2025’s Old Navy x Disney Americana collection, it’s back for a second time. This means more Mickey Mouse, more summer memories, and more reasons for me to venture out to the local Old Navy at the nearby mall. Old Navy x Disney: The American Collection 2026 In 2025, Mickey Mouse became the first character ever to appear on Old Navy’s iconic American Flag t-shirt. The first collection, featuring a wide variety of styles and designs, not only featuring Mickey Mouse, but also some of his best friends, quickly went viral in my closet. I might have even insisted that the entire communications department supporting Disney Parks Blog buy the hot dog t-shirt (we all did; we still wear the t-shirt). The new collection expands the idea of summer fun, with all-new pieces, updated silhouettes, and expanded categories that feel both nostalgic and trendy for the entire family. I can’t take a stroll around Disneyland without seeing some of the 2025 collection, so I’m excited to see what pieces become park-going favorites for this year. If you see me wandering around Main Street, USA, wearing the Reversible Bucket Hat and sipping on a cold brew…no, you didn’t. As a big Old Navy enthusiast, this collection checks so many boxes for my summer wardrobe. I’ve always loved Old Navy because their pieces feel effortless and wearable while still being full of personality — and this one just happens to be full of Mickey Mouse. The clothes fit my real life, whether I’m heading to work or heading out to Disneyland, and the prices make it easy to say yes to a little style refresh whenever I need one. It’s that magical mix of good staples and wallet-friendly finds that keep me coming back season after season. And in this case, summer collection after summer collection. Don’t know where to start your own shopping cart first? I’ve got you covered with some of my favorite picks. Even though I would have been first in line to shop it regardless, Old Navy extended an invitation to me to stop by the store at the Irvine Spectrum Center in Irvine, California, to check it out. Who doesn’t love a bright and early first look to get a peek at what’s dropping (right now! It’s available online and in stores!) to add to my closet. What I’m shopping for myself I actually let out a little gasp the first time I saw the Mickey Mouse Fit & Flare Cami Mini Dress. I’ve already got one (or two) Fit & Flare dresses in my closet, but now adding one with a subtle Mickey Mouse touch? Summer perfection. It’s perfect for a hot day walking around Disneyland Resort, or even heading towards the beach. The Cotton Scarf is also immediately going into my cart. And that’s just the first of many accessories. The Logo-Graphic T-Shirt is also a must-buy because have you seen what’s on the back? Complimenting last summer’s hot dog shirt, this year it’s a burger(!!). It also comes in sizes for little ones, so that the whole family can match. More things I’m picking up for myself, regardless if someone is going to match with me, include the Mickey Mouse Short-Sleeve Cropped Raglan Fleece Sweatshirt. I wasn’t originally going to grab the Oversized Graphic Raglan Sweatshirt, but I took one look at it in the store and realized it needed to be added to my closet. The Raglan sweatshirts are just so cozy and perfect for everyday. I also love the little Mickey Mouse graphic on the front, which is subtle enough for every summer event. It does sometimes get cold at night while I’m watching the Disneyland fireworks… I also can’t pass up a new tote for summer, and the Small Plaid Tote Bag is perfect for wherever I’m headed. But, for today’s shopping adventure, everything fit nicely in the Large Tote Bag, outfitted with perfect patches on the side. It’s got a pocket on the inside to keep everything organized, whether I’m headed to the park to pick up some snacks or a nearby BBQ. What I’m shopping for others As an aunt to some adorable little ones, it’s going to be hard to resist buying absolutely everything. The little plaid shirt and short combos, for toddlers, and both boys and girls? Immediate buy. It also comes in adult sizes, too, for the whole family to match. I might also be just a little jealous that the Jelly Fisherman Sandals featuring Minnie Mouse are only available for babies. My summer to-do list includes taking my nephews to the pool, so I grabbed the Swim Rashguard Bodysuit for babies. The striped Mickey Mouse pattern is so cute, so this is another opportunity to match the whole fam because it’s available as a woman’s one-piece, too. I also want to take a moment and really appreciate the Cardigan Sweater. It comes in the color “sea salt,” which is perfect as it is, but features the most delicate Mickey Mouse design I’ve ever seen. It’s also not too heavy, while still being warm enough to layer over something…like perhaps one of Old Navy’s classic American Flag shirts? I was eying this for my sister for all our summer park trips, but I might just have to grab one for myself. Shop the collection now in stores and online! Happy summer. 7. Bluey is officially becoming a permanent part of Disney World, and if you’ve got little ones at home, this is the kind of news that stops the scroll. Bluey and Bingo! The beloved Australian animated series has captured the hearts of kids and parents alike over the past few years, and Disney is leaning all the way in. Here’s everything you need to know about Bluey’s Wild World at Animal Kingdom before you start planning your visit. How to Get In: The Virtual Queue One of the most important things to know before you go is that Bluey’s Wild World will use a virtual queue when it opens, so you won’t be able to just walk up. Conservation Station You’ll need to grab a boarding group through the My Disney Experience app, and there are two windows to do it: 7 AM or 1 PM. For the 7 AM window, you don’t have to be inside the park, but you do need valid admission. For the 1 PM window, you need to be inside Animal Kingdom. Disney has said a standby queue will open at some point, but plan for the virtual queue for now. Getting There: The Wildlife Express Train To reach Conservation Station, you’ll board the Wildlife Express Train near Harambe Market in the Africa section of the park. The ride gives you a behind-the-scenes peek at the animal care facilities connected to Kilimanjaro Safaris, so it’s genuinely worth the trip even before the Bluey fun starts. Wildlife Express Meeting Bluey and Bingo Once you arrive, Bluey’s Wild World delivers a full experience, not just a photo line. You’ll get to meet both Bluey and Bingo, play classic games from the show like Keepy Uppy and Magic Asparagus, and take part in a dance party. ©Bluey The whole thing wraps up with a bubble shower, which honestly sounds like a perfect ending for any age group. The whole experience is designed to feel like you’ve stepped into an episode, and from what Disney’s described, it delivers on that. Jumping Junction: Australian Animals The former Affection Section has been reimagined as Jumping Junction, a shared habitat where you can see kangaroos and wallabies up close. Former Affection Section It’s a smart connection that makes the experience feel cohesive rather than just slapping a character on an existing attraction. Food, Merchandise, and More Disney is going all in on the Bluey theming across the park. At Pizzafari, look for Fairy Bread Cake, a vanilla birthday cake dipped in white chocolate with rainbow sprinkles, plus a frozen Fruit Salad-inspired drink called Wackadoo Fruit Freeze and Bluey’s Berry Lemonade. Fairy Bread Cake Over at Isle of Java, you can grab Pretzel’s Pretzels with cheese and blueberry-mustard dipping sauces. For merchandise, Bluey gear will be available at both Island Mercantile on Discovery Island and at Conservation Station itself, with plush headbands and a Create Your Own plush arriving later this summer. ©Disney Bluey’s Wild World at Conservation Station opens May 26 as part of Cool KIDS’ SUMMER at Walt Disney World, and it’s shaping up to be one of the most well-rounded new additions Animal Kingdom has seen in a while. 8. When booking your vacation to the Disneyland Resort, you still need to make a reservation for either Disneyland Park or Disney California Adventure. Disneyland Before, booking a reservation on the Disneyland app would open a separate browser window to the Disneyland website to make park pass reservations for your upcoming trip. However, thanks to a new change on the Disneyland app, making park pass reservations just got a whole lot easier. Let’s take a look! If you check out the Disneyland App and click on the “+” button at the bottom of the screen, then click on the “Make a Park Reservation” link, you can now make a theme park reservation directly through the app. You’ll find a button for guests with tickets or Magic Key passes to make reservations. You’ll also find a button for resort hotel guests to link their reservations to their tickets so they can make a park pass reservation. ©Disney Click on the “Reserve” button, and it’ll give you the option to create your party and ticket, as well as to link a ticket or Magic Key pass to your reservation. It’s a super easy step-by-step process that’s laid out for you in the app. Just follow the simple instructions, and you’ll be good to go. Disneyland Before this change, the reservation system would send you to your mobile device’s browser to complete the park pass reservation process from there. Something Disney World guests are still familiar with. However, now it’s done entirely in the app, making it that much easier to reserve the parks for you and your party. 9. The Walt Disney Company encompasses so many industries that it can be hard to keep up with all the company’s big announcements. After all, there are theme parks and cruise ships, television, streaming, movies, and sports to keep up with. ©Disney Well, when it comes to television, Disney makes a lot of big announcements during its annual Upfront, which is when Disney presents its upcoming programming schedules to advertisers, which in turn allows those advertisers to buy time “up front.” Well, Disney’s 2026 upfront included a TON of announcements about what you can expect on Disney’s TV networks and streaming. Let’s start with some big events coming up in 2026 that Disney will be hosting. The first big announcement is that Conan O’Brien will return to host the 99th Academy Awards in 2027. 11. After months of patiently waiting, Soarin’ Across America has finally begun previews in EPCOT! Soarin’ Across America The newest version of the popular flying ride officially opens on May 26th, in honor of America’s 250th birthday. Ahead of the official opening, Disney is hosting Cast Member and Annual Passholder previews, where we got a chance to check out the changes. We have officially soared across America! During Cast Member previews began on May 15th, and we were among some of the first to check out the attraction. Ahead of its opening, Disney teased new locations from “from sea to shining sea,” and they weren’t kidding! Be warned — there are spoilers ahead! Soarin’ Across America To start off, they updated the signage outside and bits of the queue. They added new signage as well as posters for new locations around the world. Queue updates! There’s even a NEW trivia game added to the queue. The Soarin’ Challenge Across America was made in collaboration with National Geographic and will have you and your crew answering trivia questions about the 50 states. The Soarin’ Challenge The pre-show started off with some fun new updates that really got the crowd laughing. The preshow! Once we were seated and the ride began, it started off with a band — literally! The beginning opens with a big surprise with a rocket on the screen as you’re being raised into the skies, getting ready to take flight. The rocket! The transitions between each scene didn’t feel as dramatic as other iterations of the ride. Soarin’ Across America features scenes from New York Harbor, the New England coastline, and Grand Canyon West. How gorgeous! Plus, you even spot some gorgeous views of Mount Rushmore, because what’s more American than that? We even flew over the Hollywood sign! Mount Rushmore! It’s also not a Soarin’ attraction without some signature scents! During our rides through, we noticed a grass scent in the prairie scene, a strong water smell in Louisiana, and a tropical flower for the Hawaii section. We think it might be hibiscus. We are in love! One thing we noticed was that the use of animals remained prevalent in many of the scenes. We spotted animals like eagles, moose, horses, and birds. The Moose! The ride did feature some less dramatic movements compared to previous versions, meaning we feel like the seats don’t dip or rise as frequently. This is probably because the scenes aren’t as dramatic, even though they are gorgeous. There were still some big dips, though! We need to go here ASAP! The ride still ends in EPCOT, but this time, Spaceship Earth has an American flag projected onto it. And yes, they use fireworks to make a little “hidden” Mickey! How cool! Disney previously shared that, “The experience features so many quintessentially American settings… the autumn colors of the heartland; the beauty of our bayous; the great plains of the west; the northern wilderness; and sunlit island shores.” Each scene was selected because of its classic American beauty, which all contribute to “create a portrait of what we believe makes America so special.” A nice nighttime view! We think this is a beautiful new addition of the ride! Previews will continue with Annual Passholder previews, which are on May 19th and 20th. Annual Passholders can join the regular standby queue for the ride during normal operating hours to experience the preview. No reservation or virtual queue needed here. ©Disney | Filming for Soarin’ Across America The ride opens on May 26th at EPCOT and then on July 2nd at Disney California Adventure. Disney hasn’t announced how long the attraction will be around for, so don’t hesitate if you want to see some great American beauty. This is just one of the MANY attractions and changes that kick off on May 26th, so be sure to stick around with DisneyFoodBlog for more Disney news, updates, recommendations, and more. 13. We finally know when Vision is returning to the Marvel Cinematic Universe! ©Disney After years of speculation, Disney and Marvel confirmed at this year’s Upfront presentation that the long-awaited VisionQuest series will premiere on Disney+ on October 14th. The series will see the return of Paul Bettany, who originated the character in 2015’s Avengers: Age of Ultron, and went on to appear in several more Marvel films before costarring in 2021’s WandaVision with onscreen paramour Wanda Maximoff, portrayed by Elizabeth Olsen. ©Marvel Studios The events of that series have been explored in the follow-up Agatha All Along as well as the film Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness, but Bettany himself has yet to reappear in his White Vision persona since the finale of WandaVision. ©Marvel In addition to the returning Bettany, the series will also mark the return of James Spader’s Ultron – whose cinematic origin is deeply tied to Vision’s – to the MCU for the first time in over a decade. The cast also includes Henry Lewis, Jonathan Sayer, James D’Arcy, Orla Brady, Emily Hampshire, and Ruaridh Mollica. Terry Matalas, best known for Star Trek: Picard, as well as 12 Monkeys and MacGyver, will serve as showrunner for the series. ©Disney While Disney is explicitly labeling VisionQuest as “the final installment in the trilogy” that began with 2021’s WandaVision and continued with 2024’s Agatha All Along, it is worth noting that the series is premiering only months before the theatrical release of Avengers: Doomsday in December, and conceivably could tie into that film’s storyline in as-yet-announced ways. ©Disney Paul Bettany’s Vision is making his long-awaited return to the MCU in VisionQuest, premiering this October on Disney+. 14. Your Disney+ subscription is pulling a lot more weight this summer. ©Disney From exclusive gaming content to Disney World hotel discounts and even free premium streaming perks, Disney quietly rolled out a batch of limited-time bonuses that fans are definitely going to want to claim ASAP. Some of these offers are only available for a few months, and a few are tied to major upcoming Disney releases and events happening right now. If you’ve been paying for Disney+ just to rewatch Marvel movies and queue up comfort shows before bed, it’s officially time to dig into the extras. Here’s a full breakdown of the newest Disney+ subscriber perks available in May 2026. Disney World Hotel Discounts Are Back for Summer This one’s probably going to get a lot of Disney adults opening up the vacation budgeting spreadsheet again. Disney+ subscribers can now access a special summer room offer at Walt Disney World Resort, with rates starting at $99 per night plus tax at Disney’s All-Star Sports Resort. There are also discounted rates available at select Disney Resorts Collection hotels for longer stays. ©Disney The deal applies to stays of two nights or more on most nights from June 21 through August 15, 2026, which covers a huge chunk of summer travel season. If you’ve been waiting for a reason to plan a quick getaway before fall crowds arrive, this is a pretty solid excuse. Disney hotel discounts under $100 a night do not show up every day anymore, especially during the summer. Even value resort fans know that pricing has gotten more competitive lately, so this perk stands out. Read MORE About the Hotel Deals Happening Now HERE! D23 Fans Can Save on Gold Membership Upgrades If you’ve been thinking about upgrading your D23 membership, Disney+ subscribers can currently get 20% off select D23 Gold plans for a limited time. ©Disney The discount applies to D23 Gold Essential, Choice, and Complete memberships through August 31. For dedicated Disney fans who love collectibles, exclusive events, early access opportunities, and member-exclusive merchandise, this could be the perfect time to upgrade. D23 memberships have become a much bigger deal over the past few years, especially as Disney continues expanding fan events and exclusive offerings. Spotify Premium Is Free for 3 Months This perk honestly feels perfect for summer. Disney+ subscribers can grab a three-month free trial of Spotify Premium right now, which means ad-free playlists for road trips, Disney park prep sessions, gym runs, or your inevitable “Songs That Make Me Feel Like I’m in EPCOT” playlist. ©Disney Spotify Premium still feels like one of those subscriptions people either absolutely swear by or keep telling themselves they don’t need while listening to five ads in a row. A free three-month trial is a nice way to test-drive it without committing immediately. There is limited eligibility and terms apply, so existing Premium users may not qualify. Calm Premium Is Offering a 6-Month Free Trial Disney is also leaning into wellness perks this month, which actually makes a lot of sense for May’s Mental Health Awareness Month. Subscribers can claim a six-month free trial of Calm Premium through August 13. The app includes guided meditations, sleep stories, stress management tools, and relaxing audio content designed to help users recharge a little. ©Disney And honestly, if you’ve ever attempted a four-park Disney day in July, you already know the value of learning how to breathe through chaos. This is one of the more unexpectedly useful perks in the lineup because it extends beyond Disney fandom and into everyday life. Six months is also a surprisingly generous trial period compared to most subscription offers. Marvel Rivals Players Can Unlock an Exclusive Loki Costume Marvel fans are getting a pretty fun bonus right now thanks to Marvel Rivals. Disney+ subscribers can score a free timed-exclusive Loki costume inspired by Marvel Studios’ The Avengers, and honestly, it looks like the kind of skin everyone’s going to be showing off online this summer. ©Disney+ The costume comes in a custom Disney+ inspired colorway, which makes it feel a little more collectible than your average in-game cosmetic. If you haven’t tried Marvel Rivals yet, it’s a free-to-play team-based PVP shooter where you can battle as some of the biggest Marvel characters. The timing here also lines up with the new “Path to Doomsday: The Avengers Mode,” which is helping build hype for Avengers: Doomsday, arriving in theaters on December 18, 2026. Disney clearly knows Marvel fans love a good crossover moment. This offer is available through July 30, 2026. These perks are a solid reminder that your Disney+ subscription goes well beyond streaming. The combination of gaming content, travel savings, and wellness tools adds real value to what a lot of people already pay for every month. 18. Disney World just dropped a hotel deal that sounds fake in the way all suspiciously good Disney deals sound fake: $99 per night at a Disney World hotel. Standard Room Yes, really. Not $99 for a commemorative popcorn bucket. Not $99 for half a lounge chair near a Value Resort pool. A full-on Disney World hotel room. But there is a catch, because of course there is. This is Disney World. The fine print doesn’t whisper, it tap dances in a blazer. Disney+ Perks members can currently book select Walt Disney World hotel rooms for summer 2026, with the lowest advertised rate starting at $99 per night, plus tax, for Standard Rooms at Disney’s All-Star Sports Resort. The offer is valid most nights from June 21st through August 15th, 2026, and requires a 2-night minimum stay. And that brings us to the real question: should you actually stay at All-Star Sports? Disney’s All Star Sports Resort Because All-Star Sports is one of those Disney hotels people either defend like it personally raised them or roast with the fury of a guest who waited 38 minutes for a bus while holding a melting Mickey bar. It’s loud. It’s basic. It’s sports-themed with the subtlety of a foam finger to the face. But for $99 a night? Suddenly, those giant baseball bats start looking a little more charming. The $99 Deal, Minus the Confetti Cannon Here’s what Disney+ subscribers need to know. The lowest rate applies to Disney’s All-Star Sports Resort Standard Rooms on select dates within the larger summer promo window. For stays most nights from June 21st to July 1st, July 5th to July 8th, and July 12th to August 5th, 2026, Standard Rooms at All-Star Sports start at $99 per night, plus tax. But not all nights in the promo period are $99 nights, because the spreadsheet goblin demands tribute. You can combine it with other deals, including hotel discounts For stays most nights from July 2nd to July 4th, July 9th to July 11th, and August 6th to August 15th, 2026, All-Star Sports Standard Rooms start at $109 per night, plus tax. Still cheap, but slightly less “screaming into the group chat” cheap. The offer is available to Disney+ subscribers enrolled in Disney+ Perks, and proof of a Disney+ subscription is required. The Disney+ subscriber must stay in the room; advance reservations are required, and consecutive-night stays have a 2-night minimum and 14-night maximum. The deal also cannot be combined with other discounts or promotions, with the exception of the 2026 Kids Dining Plan Offer. Murphy Bed Translation: this is a real deal, but it is not a magical coupon you can fling at any reservation and expect Cinderella’s mice to apply it retroactively. FULL TOUR: Two Hotels in One ON Disney World Property? Yes, Please! First, Let’s Address the “Most Hated” Part Is All-Star Sports actually Disney World’s most hated hotel? That depends on which corner of the internet you wandered into and whether someone recently lost a bus argument. All-Star Sports has a reputation. It is the most aggressively Value Resort of the Value Resorts. It has giant sports icons, motel-style outdoor corridors, lots of families, lots of groups, and the general energy of a middle school field trip that found Pixie Dust and caffeine. Disney’s All-Star Sports Resort It is not elegant. It is not restful in the “quiet lobby with a signature candle and a pianist” way. It is not where you go if your dream vacation includes sipping wine on a balcony while gazing wistfully at Seven Seas Lagoon. Disney’s All-Star Sports Resort It is where you go when you want a bed, a shower, Disney transportation, Early Theme Park Entry, and enough leftover money to buy snacks with the recklessness of a raccoon in a churro cart. And honestly? That has value. What You Actually Get at All-Star Sports All-Star Sports is a Disney Value Resort located in the Animal Kingdom Resort Area. It is themed around baseball, basketball, football, surfing, and tennis, with oversized icons and Disney characters worked into the sports décor. Standard Rooms sleep up to four adults and one child under age 3 in a crib, with one queen bed and one queen-size table bed. Rooms include basics like a beverage cooler, Wi-Fi, hairdryer, in-room safe, iron, and ironing board. Queen bed That table bed setup is actually one of the biggest practical upgrades at the All-Stars. During the day, you can fold it up and use the table. At night, it becomes a second bed. Is it luxury? No. Is it more functional than two beds consuming the entire room like upholstered sea monsters? Absolutely. You also get access to Disney transportation, though at All-Star Sports, that means buses. No Skyliner. No monorail. No boat. Just bus life, baby. Hope you packed patience and deodorant. All-Star Sports has two pools, Surfboard Bay Pool and Grand Slam Pool, plus a children’s water play area, arcade, playground, Movies Under the Stars, jogging trail, and quick-service dining. Grand Slam Pool The main dining option is End Zone Food Court, which serves quick-service staples like burgers, pizza, pasta, Mickey waffles, desserts, and other family-friendly options. It is a Mobile Order-friendly quick-service food court with meals generally in the $14.99-and-under range for adults. End Zone Food Court So no, you are not getting California Grill. You are getting “I need breakfast before EPCOT, and nobody talk to me until I’ve had caffeine.” And sometimes that is the correct restaurant category. The Pros: Why This Deal Might Be a Steal The biggest pro is obvious: price. A Disney World hotel room under $100 per night is increasingly rare, and this deal puts you on Disney property for less than many off-site hotels, especially once you consider resort fees and parking charges that can sneak up on you elsewhere like budget vampires in khakis. All-Star Sports Lobby At All-Star Sports, you get the core Disney Resort benefits. That includes Early Theme Park Entry, so you can get into the parks 30 minutes early each day of your stay, subject to capacity. For 2026 arrivals from May 26th through September 8th, Disney Resort hotel guests also get water park admission on check-in day, included with their stay. Early Entry That water park perk matters. If you can arrive early enough, drop your bags, and head to Typhoon Lagoon or Blizzard Beach, you can turn your travel day into something more than “we ate airport pretzels and yelled at the GPS.” Happy Landings Another big pro: All-Star Sports is a sleep-and-shower hotel. That sounds like an insult, but it is not. Some Disney trips are not resort trips. Some Disney trips are “rope drop, snack, Lightning Lane, snack, collapse, repeat.” If you plan to spend most of your time in the parks, paying Deluxe prices for a room you only visit while unconscious may be financially bonkers. All-Star Sports is also great for families who want Disney theming without paying for the fancier resort experience. Kids often love the giant icons, the pools, the food court, and the very unsubtle “YOU ARE AT DISNEY” energy. And let’s not pretend adults are above this. We’ve seen grown people lose composure over a themed trash can. The Cons: Why You Might Regret It Now for the part where we ruin the fairy tale with practical shoes. All-Star Sports can be loud. It is popular with families, and sometimes sports groups, and All-Star Resorts can host larger sports groups, especially All-Star Sports, which can make the resort noisier. If you are a light sleeper, noise-sensitive, or someone who becomes spiritually unwell when teenagers run past your door at midnight, this may not be your kingdom. The rooms are also small compared with higher-tier Disney resorts. They are functional, renovated, and clean, but they are not spacious. Four adults in one room can work, but you will all become intimately familiar with each other’s packing habits. Someone’s suitcase will live under the sink area. Someone will overpack. Someone will say, “Where are my socks?” six times. This is the natural order. Washroom Transportation is another big consideration. All-Star Sports relies on bus transportation, and during off-peak times, buses may be shared with the other All-Star Resorts, which can add to travel times, although All-Star Sports is typically the first pickup. Bus stop at All-Star Movies There is also no table-service restaurant, no fancy lounge, no pool slide, no hot tub, and no romantic resort ambiance unless your love language is “giant football helmet.” And that is fine, if you know what you are booking. The danger is booking All-Star Sports because it is cheap, then expecting Wilderness Lodge. That way lies disappointment, resentment, and dramatic muttering at the bus stop. Are the Dates Actually Good? This deal falls during summer, which is a tricky little creature. The good news? Summer 2026 has some tempting reasons to visit. Disney is pushing summer offers. Cool KIDS’ SUMMER runs from May 26th through September 8th, and families traveling during this period can potentially pair their resort stay with the check-in day water park perk. ©Disney The less charming news? It is summer in Florida. We are talking heat, humidity, afternoon storms, and the kind of weather that makes your hair enter its villain era by 10:13 AM. If you are booking late June, July, or early August, you need to be realistic. This is not a “leisurely stroll around World Showcase in a linen shirt” climate. This is “hydration strategy, portable fan, midday break, and backup socks” territory. Tree of Life That said, the All-Star Sports price can actually help you build a smarter summer trip. If you are paying $99 a night, you may feel less guilty about leaving the parks midday for a nap, swim, or cold shower. You are not trying to “maximize” a $700-per-night room. You are using the hotel as a budget-friendly recharge station with Mickey-adjacent energy. The best $99 dates are also not over the Fourth of July holiday itself. The $99 tier skips July 2nd through July 4th, when the All-Star Sports rate rises to $109 per night. If you can travel after the holiday window, you may be able to grab the better rate and avoid some of the holiday chaos. Who Should Book This Immediately? This deal makes the most sense for travelers who want to stay on Disney property for the lowest possible price and do not need resort luxury. Book it if you are a parks-first traveler. Book it if your hotel priorities are clean room, working AC, Disney transportation, and a place to crash after 27,000 steps. Book it if your kids will love the big, colorful theming, and you will love not needing to sell a kidney to stay onsite. All Star Sports It is also a strong option for budget-conscious families, quick weekend trips, solo travelers, friend groups, and anyone who wants to spend more of the trip budget on food, tickets, Lightning Lane, souvenirs, or “emergency” EPCOT festival snacks. You may also want to consider it if you were already planning a Disney+ subscription or already have one. The barrier to entry is low compared with Annual Passholder or Florida resident discounts, though you still need to enroll in Disney+ Perks and make sure the subscription requirement is handled correctly. Who Should Skip It? Skip All-Star Sports if you need quiet. Skip it if you want a resort that feels like a vacation destination all on its own. Skip it if you want multiple transportation options, a table-service restaurant, a lounge, a pool slide, or a lobby that whispers, “You are sophisticated now.” Football is about the get a lot more Disney-fied! Also, skip it if you have a family that needs more space. A Standard Room can sleep four adults, but “can” and “should” are not always the same enchanted word. If you have older kids, multiple adults, or anyone with strong opinions about bathroom counter space, you may want to price out a family suite at Art of Animation or another resort. And if the dates do not work for you, do not force it. A cheap hotel rate is only a good deal if it fits your actual trip. If you have to rearrange flights, miss work, travel during unbearable heat, or choose dates that make your family crankier than a denied boarding group, that $99 rate starts looking less magical. So, Is All-Star Sports Worth $99 a Night? Yes, with a giant neon asterisk. At $99 per night, All-Star Sports is absolutely worth considering. It gives you a Disney Resort hotel room, onsite perks, transportation, Early Theme Park Entry, access to the check-in day water park perk during the summer 2026 window, and a price that is honestly pretty shocking for Disney World in the year of our lord, premium popcorn buckets. Goofy at All-Star Sports But it is only worth it if you understand what All-Star Sports is. It is not a hidden Deluxe Resort. It is not secretly the Polynesian wearing a baseball cap. It is a Value Resort with loud theming, bus transportation, compact rooms, quick-service dining, and the occasional chaos aura of a traveling sports tournament. For some guests, that is a nightmare in cleats. For others, it is the cheapest ticket to staying inside the Disney bubble. And for $99 a night? We are willing to forgive a lot. Not everything. We are not saints. But a lot. Disney World dining planning is not for the faint of heart. 20. Is there anything sweeter than having an iced cold coffee in Disney World? There are a few simplicities in life that bring us quite as much joy as an ice latte in the theme parks. The NEW Disney Starbucks Tumbler It’s true that you can’t spend every day in the parks (for most people), so we like to search for little ways to bring those happy moments home to us. That’s where these NEW Disney x Starbucks accessories come in. During one of our latest stops in Disney’s Hollywood Studios, we couldn’t help but notice two NEW Starbucks items that we can’t stop thinking about! The first is something we already know will become a park bag staple for us. It’s the Fabric Cup Sleeve. The cup sleeve This little sleeve is $16, and it’s designed to hold your iced Starbucks beverages. This is one of those little luxuries that we can’t get over. It helps keep your hands from getting too cold, and it keeps any condensation from the cup off your things. The back On one side, you can see the Starbucks logo, and on the other is a gorgeous green castle, Minnie ears, balloons, and more. These sleeves are designed for 16-ounce cold cups. We have wanted these for YEARS, so this is a dream come true. We need one ASAP The other thing we are obsessed with is from the same collection, and it’s a new Starbucks Tumbler! The new cup! This cup is $34.99 and features the same design as the cup sleeve. The color scheme is green, pastel purple, and a super light green background. The green castle takes center stage and is surrounded by sparkles and theme park iconography. The back! On the back, you can see “The Starbucks Coffee Company” written along the back, which we really love. There are also several coffee cups above the small Starbucks logo at the bottom. The lid! The top has a flip lid for you to sip your water, coffee, or preferred beverage from. We found these items in Celebrity 5 & 10 on Hollywood Boulevard in the theme park. We’ve also spotted them in EPCOT, so keep your eyes peeled in the theme parks. At the time of writing, these items aren’t available online, but we expect to see them there soon. As always, be sure to keep following DisneyFoodBlog for more Disney news and finds. 6 NEW Disney Starbucks Tumblers Now Online Join the DFB Newsletter to get all the breaking news right in your inbox! 23. Disney World has been a sea of construction over the last year, and there really is no end in sight. There are tons of projects in development, like Villains Land, Piston Peak, Pueblo Esperanza, and more. While some have said that 2026 is the year to skip the parks, Disney is sharing that they’re just as busy as ever. Cinderella Castle Disney CFO Hugh Johnston recently appeared at the 2026 MoffettNathanson Media, Internet & Communications Conference, where he discussed the future of Disney, expansions, and the theme parks’ capacity. Spoiler alert: the guests are still filling the parks and prices aren’t dropping any time soon. According to CFO Hugh Johnston, the Disney theme parks are packed these days. During the conference, Johnston touched on a multitude of topics, including Disney’s long-term growth and its commitment to consistent performance. During the panel, a question was asked about the balance between attendance growth and capacity of the parks, specifically Disneyland and Disney World. They also touched on the balance between attendance growth and pricing in the future. ©Disney Johnston started by sharing that it won’t be one or the other over the next several years, but they’re going to be focusing on growing both attendance and pricing. He said, “Necessarily, it needs to be both.” He continued to touch on the reality of having “a big fixed asset” by saying they use “promotional activities to make sure we’re filling the parks every day.” EPCOT Crowds in May 2026 He also shared that the “capacity utilization on these parks is really, really high, almost all the time.” He attributed the high capacity to the different discounts and promotions they use throughout the year. Johnston continued to share, “Without expansion, we don’t necessarily have the ability to grow attendance massively because it’s already filled up.” Rope Drop Crowds So what does that mean for us on our vacations? The crowds aren’t dying down any time soon. He did say that they could “jam more people into the parks,” but that choice would lead to guest dissatisfaction, which would then be bad for the brand. He shared that adding capacity to the parks, it creates more opportunities. Magic Kingdom lines in April 2026 He made sure to confirm that it doesn’t mean production is slowing down. He did say that when they put in a new attraction, they see a clear surge in demand for it, and that leads to filling up ride capacity and then the theme parks “really, really quickly without having to discount.” Crowds for the reopening of Big Thunder Mountain Sadly for us, he also confirmed that opportunities like new ride openings “actually offers some ability to charge more because essentially, you’re offering something new that wasn’t there before.” So no, prices won’t be going down any time soon. Not that this is a huge shock or anything, especially with all of the new attractions and lands they are currently developing. Wait times for Big Thunder Mountain Johnston continued to share that they have the ability to grow attendance as they expand capacity. He said, “I would expect to see both pricing and attendance growth over any 3- or 4-year time frame.” While these comments might be newer, the sentiment isn’t. Disney has been open about a drop in attendance, but a growth in guest spending more than in the past. In 2022, they even confirmed guests were spending 40% more than they were in 2019. Disneyland Crowds Despite the high capacity, Disney recently reported a 1% drop in attendance numbers during the second quarter of 2026. They also confirmed that spending per capita was up 5%. That means there are technically fewer guests, but they’re all paying more. Morning crowds at EPCOT Disney has continued to justify price increases thanks to all of their new additions to the parks, which are part of a previously announced $60 billion expansion. At Disney World alone, they’re working on a Villains land in Magic Kingdom, a Cars-themed space in Magic Kingdom, a Monsters, Inc. space in Hollywood Studios, Pueblo Esperanza in Animal Kingdom, a brand-new hotel, and much more. Piston Peak Construction These new attractions, rides, and more don’t necessarily mean that Disney is going to start “jamming” more people into the parks in the immediate future. What we can anticipate is higher prices for the same number of people. As previously stated, Johnston confirmed they will be focusing on both attendance and pricing over the next few years, so don’t hold your breath for price drops and empty theme parks any time soon. Construction Walls in Hollywood Studios We’re eager to see exactly how these huge expansions to the parks will impact crowds, pricing, satisfaction, and more. 24. Animal Kingdom is in an interesting state right now. Thanks to the construction of the upcoming Tropical Americas land, the park ride count has been temporarily cut, and wait times for its most popular rides have gone up. ©Disney However, there’s a way to ensure a perfect ride day at Disney World’s most recently opened theme park in under five minutes, long before stepping through the entrance gates. The key to ensuring a perfect ride at Animal Kingdom right now begins with Lightning Lane Selections for both Multi Pass and Single Pass, so let’s quickly run down how those systems work: Lightning Lane Multi Pass allows guests to plan ahead of their visit and choose up to 3 Multi Pass experiences and arrival windows in a theme park each day (7 days in advance of their stay for Disney hotel guests and 3 days in advance for non-hotel guests). Lightning Lane Single Pass allows guests to “Save time in line with a Lightning Lane Single Pass for one of our most in-demand attractions—those not available with Lightning Lane Multi Pass.” Single Passes are eligible to be purchased at the same time as their Multi Pass equivalents. Kilimanjaro Safaris Lightning Lane So, when you’re choosing your Animal Kingdom Lightning Lanes, you should log on to Disney’s website or the MyDisney App and ensure everything is set up with your account about 5-10 minutes before your window officially opens. Once it does, your first move should be securing a Lightning Lane Single Pass for Flight of Passage, the park’s busiest ride and its only Single Pass offering. Line for Flight of Passage in Pandora Next, purchase Lightning Lane Multi Pass and shoot for the park’s three other currently operating premier attractions: N’aVi River Journey, Expedition Everest, and Kilimanjaro Safaris. During this construction period, Animal Kingdom has no Multi Pass Tier system, so you can use all three passes on these three attractions. Expedition Everest This will lock in all four of Animal Kingdom’s major attractions for your visit. Plus, if you plan on park hopping to another park once your time at Animal Kingdom is complete, you can start booking Lightning Lane Multi Passes for your park of choice as you use your Animal Kingdom ones. Slinky Dog Dash Lightning Lane If you’re making your way to Animal Kingdom while Tropical Americas is under construction, spending a few moments selecting Lightning Lanes days earlier could be your key to the perfect day at the park. 25. Disney’s Hollywood Studios is VERY busy right now, and we’re not talking about crowds. There are a TON of construction projects happening in the park, including the building of a new Monsters, Inc. land, a reimagining of Animation Courtyard into The Walt Disney Studios, and a big ride change coming to Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge. Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run Speaking of which, that big ride change is happening SOON, and you’ll want to be aware of it for several reasons: it’s going to bring a lot of Star Wars fans to the park, and it’s going to feel like a completely different ride. Yes, Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run is changing next week! On May 22nd, Millennium Falcon Smugglers Run will have a brand new mission that features the Mandalorian and Grogu, in honor of the release of The Mandalorian and Grogu movie. The story still starts with Hondo Ohnaka, but the new story will have him telling you about a new bounty he wants you to collect by “borrowing” the Millennium Falcon and going on a mission with Din Djarin and Grogu. Hondo animatronic This new mission will take you to some brand new locations, including Bespin’s Cloud City, Tatooine, Beggar’s Canyon, the remains of a Krayt Dragon, and what’s left of the Death Star. Each mission will feature its own location, and that will be chosen by the engineer position on the ride, who will also be communicating with Grogu while in flight. COOL. Death Star ruins on the new version of Smuggler’s Run ©Disney What’s even cooler about this ride change is that the ride will not be closing in order to add these changes. Disney is updating the ride by staggering the changes so they’re ready by May 22nd. If you’ve been on Millennium Falcon Smuggler’s Run recently, you might have already started noticing some changes, including in the pre-show. ©Disney We’ll be in Hollywood Studios on May 22nd to get you ALL the details about the Millennium Falcon Smuggler’s Run changes, so stay tuned to DFB for more.
