  1. We knew it was coming, but now the day has finally come — another Disney Springs store is closing, and it’s closing SOON. Francesca’s Back in the middle of January, the company Francesca’s announced that it would soon be closing ALL of its stores around the United States after 25 years of business, and that includes the store in Disney Springs. Previously, we didn’t have a date as to when that closure would take place, but now we do, and it’s coming sooner than we thought. We’ve been seeing sales happen at the Francesca’s location in Disney Springs since the announcement in January, but now we know that this location will be closing on March 29th. That’s not all, though — we called the store in Disney Springs to double check, and they did confirm that their store is closing on March 29th, but so is EVERY will every Francesca’s location will be closing on the same date. Francesca’s Yes, that means that any and all Francesca’s stores you have near you will also be closing their doors on March 29th, so if you want to take advantage of those last-minute sales, you’ve got exactly five days to do so. Drinkware Sale Francesca’s is a women’s clothing boutique, and now, the website is claiming items in the store, including the store’s actual fixtures, are 50-80% off. Previously, you could shop their warehouse sale online, but at this time, that page appears to be showing “Over Capacity,” and it’s unclear if it’s just a temporary glitch or something that’s ongoing. ©Francesca’s Looking for more recent Disney Springs news? 2. Not every Magic Kingdom ride is worth the wait, and some of the most hyped attractions in the park are quietly eating up your precious park time. TRON Lightcycle / Run With so many incredible experiences packed into one place, skipping the wrong rides can mean missing out on something way better. Here’s a breakdown of some rides you can safely pass on and the alternatives that’ll actually make your day. Skip TRON, Ride Space Mountain TRON Lightcycle / Run is one of the newest and flashiest rides in Magic Kingdom, and the hype around it is very real. The problem? The wait times are consistently brutal, and the ride itself is over before you can even process what happened. It’s one of those experiences that’s objectively cool but leaves you standing in the unload area thinking, “That was it?” TRON Lightcycle / Run Space Mountain, on the other hand, is an absolute classic for a reason. You’re never quite sure when it’s going to end or how you’re going to hold it together in the dark, but that’s half the fun. Space Mountain queue Lightning Lane availability for Space Mountain tends to be solid throughout the day, so snagging a pass is usually pretty doable. Trust the icon. Skip Peter Pan’s Flight, Ride Pirates of the Caribbean Peter Pan’s Flight is charming, it’s classic, and the line is almost always an unreasonable commitment for what you get. Unless you’ve locked in a Lightning Lane, standing in that queue for an hour to float over painted scenery for a few minutes is a hard sell. This ride can have very long lines! Here’s the thing, though: both Peter Pan’s Flight and Pirates of the Caribbean have pirates in them. So you can skip one and still feel the theme. Pirates is longer, more immersive, and a seriously underrated ride for how good it actually is. Pirates of the Caribbean The whole family can enjoy it, and the storytelling holds up beautifully. Skip Jungle Cruise, Ride Pirates of the Caribbean This one’s going to ruffle some feathers, but hear it out. Jungle Cruise is a beloved Magic Kingdom staple (and we generally love it), but the jokes cycle through fast, and if you’ve ridden it more than once, you’ve probably heard most of them already. It’s also consistently one of the longer waits in that area of the park. Jungle Cruise Pirates of the Caribbean is air-conditioned, and a big chunk of the queue is covered and/or climate-controlled, which matters a LOT during a Florida summer (which is basically most of the year). The wait can sometimes be half of what Jungle Cruise pulls, sometimes less. Pirates of the Caribbean If you’re choosing between the two, Pirates is the smarter play almost every time. The Bottom Line Magic Kingdom is packed with incredible rides, but not every attraction deserves your time equally. Being strategic about where you spend your wait time is the difference between a day that flies by in the best way and one that ends with tired feet and mild regret. Know your priorities, lean on smart swaps, and you’ll have a way better time. 3. Florida is hot, sweaty, and so humid we wonder if we’ve actually been transported to the tropical Americas, and you simply have to remind yourself that this is where they chose to have a theme park that most people visit during the summer. VentaPak Lightweight Ventilation Backpack Spacer Luckily, we found this product that might not make the entire sun stop beating down on you, but it does provide a little bit of relief that we think is totally worth it in Disney World. DISCLOSURE: This post may contain affiliate links, meaning when you click the links and make a purchase, we receive a commission. Say hello to VentaPak! Clipping on This is a backpack spacer that you slide onto your backpack straps, preventing your backpack from sticking to your back. There’s a little bit of breeze that floats between your back and the backpack during the day, meaning your back isn’t nearly as sweaty as it usually is, and after walking around a theme park all day, you’ll be so happy that you’re less sweaty. A larger backpack It also helps distribute the weight more evenly, and our reporters who struggle with back pain really like to use this on long days in the parks. The way the VentaPak straps onto your backpack, you might feel a little more sweaty under your arms, but that’s a lot easier to hide than your entire back (and hey, your underarms were probably going to be sweaty anyway). VentaPak Lightweight Ventilation Backpack Spacer We know it might look a little silly, but it’s totally worth every penny after you’ve been lugging your backpack around with everyone’s water bottles,s jackets, souvenirs, and more. CHECK IT OUT HERE This is a total hit with us! Make sure you keep following Disney Food Blog for more of our favorite products that make a trip to Disney World so much easier. View the full article
  4. We’ve long known that Chef Art Smith’s Homecomin’ in Disney Springs is one of our favorite spots to eat, especially for brunch, but a lot of people forget just how incredible their lunch and dinner menu is as well. This burger is EVERYTHING We ourselves do the same from time to time, so when we heard there was a new burger available on the menu, we knew we had to go check it out, just to see if it would live up to the hype we nearly always feel about this spot. And WOW, let’s just say, this burger was so good, we think we’ll be dreaming about it for WEEKS. Chef Art Smith’s Homecomin’ is a hard spot to snag reservations for, especially for breakfast and brunch, but if all you can find is lunch and dinner, don’t be discouraged, because this menu is just as brilliant. We stopped by recently to grab the Southern Burger for $24, which is two all-beef patties topped with American Cheese, pecan-smoked bacon, two fried green tomatoes, pimento cheese, arugula, and a truffle aioli, served on a brioche bun with a side of crispy fries. This thing was AMAZING From the first bite, our first thought was WOW, because all the flavors combined beautifully. The star of the show was the pimento cheese since it was in the sauce with the truffle aioli, which was also delicious. The arugula pairs nicely as well, so it gives the burger a fresh taste. All the flavors were strong individually, but all combined wonderfully. In fact, it reminded us of that scene in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory where they’re trying the candy that tastes like Thanksgiving dinner. The pimento cheese and the Truffle aioli are the strongest flavors, though, so you’ll certainly need to enjoy those to like this burger! So many flavors! The tomato itself provides a fantastic crunch and is seasoned very well. The burger patties themselves were also super juicy and had a perfect texture — firm without being overly so. We would absolutely get this again and feel that burger enthusiasts will be BIG fans, and we hope it’ll stick around on the menu for quite some time. More Recent Reviews! 5. If you’ve ever wandered through the Walt Disney World Dolphin and thought, “You know what this evening needs? A fancy cocktail, some crab nachos, and a brief moment where I pretend I’m the kind of person who casually says things like ‘Let’s split the tuna tartare,’” then congratulations, bluezoo is calling your name. ©Disney Todd English’s bluezoo, tucked inside the Walt Disney World Dolphin Hotel in the EPCOT Resort Area, has long been one of those under-the-radar grown-up Disney World dining spots that feels just a little more polished, a little more date-night, and a little more “let’s leave the stroller traffic behind for two seconds.” The restaurant is a AAA Four-Diamond signature dining location known for coastal cuisine with international and New American influences, plus a sleek underwater-inspired design that leans elegant instead of kitschy. In other words: it’s seafood with a glow-up. And now? There’s an extra little plot twist. This spring, bluezoo is offering Happy Hour twice daily, with one window from 4PM to 6PM and another from 10PM to 11PM. Yes, twice. As in, you get a pre-dinner chance to save and a late-night chance to swoop in for a post-fireworks sip. Frankly, this is the kind of double-feature energy we support. bluezoo If you’re not super familiar with bluezoo, here’s the quick-and-snappy version: This is celebrity chef Todd English’s signature restaurant at the Dolphin, and it’s built around seafood, big flavors, and a menu that tries to do a little more than the standard “here is your fish, goodbye.” The current menu still highlights dishes like the restaurant’s customizable “simply fish,” whole fish meunière, peppercorn-crusted ahi tuna, crab fried rice, and seafood towers if your vacation mood is less “quick bite” and more “release the shellfish.” Smoked Fish Cake by bluezoo at A Taste of Swan and Dolphin Even the lounge menu has some tempting little siren songs. During the standard happy hour, you’ll find discounted drinks like the Zooberry and Serenity, along with happy hour bites including shrimp cocktail, tuna tartare, crab nachos, Olive’s flatbread, and tempura green beans. That is a pretty solid lineup for anyone who wants something more elevated than “grab a bag of chips and power through.” And honestly, that’s where bluezoo really shines. ©Disney This is not the place you go because you need the cheapest meal in the EPCOT resort area. This is the place you go when you want your evening to feel a little cooler, a little calmer, and maybe a little more adult than the average park day. We have said for years that bluezoo feels like a true experience, it is a sensory event and a great grown-up escape where the team clearly puts thought into both flavor and presentation. It’s stylish without being stuffy, and inventive without trying so hard that dinner turns into a science project. ©Disney And even after all this time, it’s still a strong option, especially for ambiance and seafood fans, but expectations matter. If you go in looking for a relaxing, upscale night with some well-chosen bites and cocktails, you’ll probably have a much better time than if you go in expecting the culinary moon and stars to descend directly onto your table. And that’s exactly why this happy hour setup is such a smart move. For one thing, it gives you a way to try bluezoo without going all-in on a full signature dinner. The lounge and bar is a great way to enjoy the restaurant’s atmosphere and menu at a lower commitment level, especially if you want a taste of the experience without building your whole night around it. Happy hour makes that even easier. bluezoo Backyard BBQ Roasted Chicken This could be a great fit for: Couples looking for a date-night warm-up before dinner elsewhere. Friends doing a progressive dining night around Crescent Lake. Seafood fans who want a more refined snack-and-sip stop. Adults sneaking away from the theme park chaos for an hour. And, very importantly, the night owls in your group who want a cocktail and an app after EPCOT fireworks instead of calling it a night like responsible people. EPCOT That second happy hour window from 10PM to 11PM is the real ringer here. Disney World does not exactly suffer from a shortage of places to get a drink, but a late-night happy hour at a signature-adjacent lounge in the EPCOT resort area? That’s a fun little loophole in the evening. If you’re staying at the Swan, Dolphin, BoardWalk, Yacht Club, or Beach Club, this could be an especially easy add-on to your night. The bottom line is that bluezoo has always been one of those spots that works best when you know exactly what it is. It’s not trying to be character dining. It’s not trying to be loud. It’s not trying to hand you a giant novelty dessert in a souvenir bucket shaped like a sea creature. It’s an upscale seafood restaurant and lounge with a polished atmosphere, a menu full of coastal favorites, and now, this spring, two daily happy hour windows that make it a lot easier to pop in without the full signature-dining splurge. Zooberry So yes, if your Disney World travel style includes the occasional oysters-and-cocktails detour, bluezoo just got a lot more interesting. Choosing where to eat at Disney World can feel weirdly like applying for a second job, except this one comes with less pay and more spreadsheets. You’ve got menus to stalk, reviews to decode, and dining reservations that disappear faster than a basket of bread at a table of Disney Adults. That’s where our Guide to Disney World Dining comes in. We pulled all the useful stuff into one place so you can stop overthinking every meal and get back to the part of vacation you actually came for. 6. If there’s one thing you should know about us here at DFB, it’s that we’re BIG fans of loaded fries. YUM! We’ve tried dozens of different varieties of loaded fries in Disney World over the years, and some of them have been standouts that we order over and over again. One of the best spots to visit if you’re a loaded fry enthusiast is The Daily Poutine in Disney Springs, and we stopped by to try one of their seasonal options! The Daily Poutine is located near World of Disney in Disney Springs, and it has a full menu of gourmet frites and poutine options, but they also typically have at least one seasonal flavor. Right now, you can order the BBQ Brisket Poutine for $12.99. The Daily Poutine These fries are topped with smoked brisket, sweet BBQ sauce, and coleslaw. The brisket was surprisingly fatty and tender, especially for a place that doesn’t specialize in BBQ. The fries are their signature thick-cut frites, and they were crispy and fluffy — absolutely delicious. BBQ Brisket Poutine The BBQ sauce was leaning more towards a tomato flavor, sweet with not really any smokiness or “bite” to it. The coleslaw was very fresh and crisp, with a subtle hint of cilantro. The portion here was rather sizable, and actually looked larger than the portion that was pictured on the sign. FRIES Ultimately, we really enjoyed these, and we would get them again! If you’re a fan of BBQ flavors or loaded fries, this would be an excellent treat to share or to grab for lunch. 8. Disney World food can add up fast, and relying on park snacks alone isn’t always the easiest or most practical option. Uncrustables Between long park days, picky eaters, and early mornings, having your own stash of go-to snacks can make a huge difference. The good news is that with a little planning, you can bring items from home that are easy, affordable, and actually enjoyable to eat. Uncrustable Think Chex Mix, Goldfish, beef sticks, fruit bars, and anything your kid already loves. 9. We recently set off on a NEW adventure across the galaxy, and it’s almost time for more Disney World fans to do the same! Let’s go! We got to experience the newly revamped Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin in Magic Kingdom during a preview, and it’ll be reopening to the public on April 8th. The ride has seen some significant changes, but there’s one change Disney’s contemplating that could make fans very disappointed! We recently learned from a Cast Member at Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin that the free “Galactic Hero” stickers may not be returning when the ride reopens! An official decision hasn’t been made yet, but their future is in jeopardy because the way the ride is scored has been changed. These blasters are removable! In the old version of this ride in Magic Kingdom, the score for each blaster would max out at 999,999. If you maxed out the score, you would achieve the legendary title of “Galactic Hero” (according to the end of the ride scoreboard). Those who scored 999,999 could take a picture of their score, then present that photo at the ride’s gift shop to get a free Galactic Hero sticker. We are Galactic Heroes! We even saw some instances where they ran out of stickers, and celebration buttons were given in their place. Galactic Hero However, with the revamp of the ride, scores are no longer capped at 999,999 — you can now score more than 1 million. Along with that, 1 million points is the bar you must meet to be considered a Galactic Hero. The scoreboard has been updated at the end of the ride to reflect this. We’re always checking our score! Since there’s no longer a maximum score, the Galactic Hero stickers are still “under discussion.” This new version of the ride may provide more opportunities for people to score higher, meaning that Disney would possibly need more stickers on hand if they did offer them. Buzz is back! Ultimately, we’ll have to wait and see when the ride officially reopens if they are offered. We’ll make sure to report back! 13. Since before Epic Universe even opened at Universal Orlando, people have been asking when Annual Passes might be an option. As of now, only single-day tickets to Epic Universe are available (while multi-day ticket packages are an option, they still only allow one visit to the park per package). Epic Universe! Now that Epic Universe is coming up on its first anniversary, Universal is sending out surveys to find out what sort of Annual Pass and other ticket options people might be interested in — and we’ve got all the details. According to a source who received the survey, Epic Universe is considering multi-year Annual Passes and more. A variety of options were presented, including discounted tickets, multi-year Annual Pass options, and bundle tickets. Epic Universe Quite a few options were presented, but here are the highlights: A 2-year, locked-in Annual Pass; a 3-year, locked-in Annual Pass; a 4-year, locked-in Annual Pass Annual Passholders could have the option to purchase a bundle that would let them visit Epic Universe on 3 days of their choice in a 3-month window There could be an add-on to Annual Passes that would allow access to Epic Universe on 10 days in the 12-month pass window Weekend only Annual Pass Or, Annual Passholders could purchase a multi-day bundle that lets them select access in a 3-month window Isle of Berk The survey then went on to ask about: Discounted date-based tickets for Annual Passholders Epic Universe access available as an upgrade (the Annual Passholder price would roughly double) Annual Passholders being able to purchase ticket bundles at a lower per-day price than the discounted date-based tickets Dynamic Express Pass (as early as 2 PM on some dates) Benefits Stacking (for those in Backlot Club, Universal Visa Cardholders, or Peacock Subscribers) Gifting passes through a digital gift card Exclusive entry Play more, save more (personalized renewal based on your park spending and number of visits) Bring a friend on select dates, in-app challenges for rewards, and escalating anniversary benefits based on how long a Passholder has had their pass Dark Universe The survey also noted that with multi-year Annual Passes, guests would be required to make a theme park reservation to help Universal manage capacity, given the continued high demand for Epic Universe. Super Nintendo World Since Universal is coming up on its first anniversary, it makes sense that Universal would be looking into expanding ticket options. While nothing has been officially announced or confirmed, this does give us some hope that some sort of Annual Pass is coming to Epic Universe sooner rather than later. Ministry of Magic Keep in mind that this is just a survey, and doesn’t mean that any of the Annual Passes or other offers mentioned are actually coming to Universal or Epic Universe. We’ll be on the lookout for additional updates regarding the potential for Annual Passes to come to Epic Universe. In the meantime, make sure you stay tuned to the Disney Food Blog for the latest Disney news and more. Read more: DFB's complete guide to Universal’s Epic Universe >> What do you think of this news? 14. Disney fans are many things. Passionate. Opinionated. Armed with screenshots. Spiritually incapable of letting go of one very specific retired dining experience. Full Spread And this week, the people have spoken. Disney World just revealed that Jessie’s Roundup: A Rip-Roarin’ Revue! is coming to The Diamond Horseshoe in Magic Kingdom as part of Cool KIDS’ SUMMER, which runs May 26 through September 8, 2026. Disney says the limited-time offering will bring Jessie, Woody, Bullseye, and more Toy Story pals into the space for songs, dancing, games, and other playful activities. Important note here: this is being presented as an entertainment experience, not a traditional character meal. Woody & Jessie at Magic Kingdom And honestly? Most readers are into it. But also? They have notes. A whole legal pad of notes. A spiral notebook. A corkboard with red string. Because while plenty of fans think the Toy Story crew at Diamond Horseshoe sounds fun, the overwhelming reaction can basically be summed up like this: “Sure, fine, we like this. But why are these characters not in Toy Story Land? And while we’re at it, why are you making us remember all the stuff you got rid of?” Roundup Rodeo BBQ In other words, Disney may have stumbled into a summer win, but fans are still out here keeping receipts. What Exactly Is Happening at Diamond Horseshoe? For summer 2026, Disney is transforming The Diamond Horseshoe into a Toy Story-themed hoedown-style interactive show space. You can expect a high-energy roundup with familiar Toy Story characters, plus music, games, and family activities. This is all part of the larger Cool KIDS’ SUMMER push across Walt Disney World, which is aimed at families traveling during the summer season. That means if you were picturing a reservation-only sit-down meal where Woody pours your sweet tea and Jessie signs an autograph book while you chew your mac and cheese, pump the brakes, cowboy. That is not what Disney has announced. In fact, one of our readers cut right to the chase: “To clarify, this is not character dining. They are closing the restaurant during the summer and just using the space, essentially for a dance party.” That distinction matters because fans heard “Toy Story characters” and “restaurant” in the same sentence and their brains immediately leapt to the obvious conclusion: So…character dining? Nope. Not this time. And that little detail is exactly why the comments section took off like Bullseye after an espresso. The Main Vibe: People Like This, But They Want It Somewhere Else The biggest theme in the reader responses was not that people disliked the idea. Quite the opposite. A lot of folks think it sounds adorable. Several readers responded with pure excitement, with comments like “That’s awesome!,” “Yayyy how exciting,” “This is great,” and “I bet this would be sooo fun!” But mixed in with the enthusiasm was a much louder chorus singing the same tune: Why is this happening in Magic Kingdom instead of Disney’s Hollywood Studios? Howdy, Partners! Step Inside Roundup Rodeo BBQ! One reader wrote, “You know what would be crazy??? To put Toy story characters in their restaurant in Hollywood studios.” Another asked, “Why oh why aren’t these exact characters at RoundUp Rodeo!?” Yet another added, “Why? They need to be at Woody’s Round Up BBQ. That makes more sense.” And there it is. The central grievance. The main beef. The rootin’, tootin’ identity crisis at the center of all this. Roundup Rodeo BBQ Because from a pure theme-and-location standpoint, fans are not exactly wrong here. Roundup Rodeo BBQ already exists in Toy Story Land at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. It is literally a restaurant built around the idea that you’re shrunk down to toy size and dropped into Andy’s rodeo playset. If there were ever a place where guests would expect to interact with Woody and Jessie over a meal or a show, that would be the one. Instead, Disney is putting the summer Toy Story entertainment offering in Frontierland at Magic Kingdom, inside a restaurant with old-timey saloon energy. It’s not completely off-base. Cowboys do, in fact, cowboy. But it still feels like Disney put the right characters in the wrong group project. One reader perfectly captured the mood: “It feels like someone at Disney asked Ai where they should put the Toy Story characters and then didn’t fact check the answer.” Brutal. Funny. A little too real. Fans Also Want Disney To Go All the Way A lot of the comments weren’t just about location. They were about commitment. Because if you’re going to bring Toy Story characters into a restaurant space, fans would really love for Disney to stop flirting and put a ring on it. Make it a meal. Make it a full experience. Make it make sense. Plant-based options One reader said, “They should totally make it a character meal …. And they can play along with guests when Andy is here!” Another pleaded, “Please don’t make it an extra pay to see character dining experience. Hope it is more like the shows they had there before where they were just on going you can grab food dine and leave.” And honestly? That’s the sweet spot Disney fans are craving. They do not necessarily want every new experience to become a maxed-out premium upcharge with a $79 adult price tag and a side of logistical despair. They want something fun, immersive, family-friendly, and easy to access. Something that feels like old-school Disney entertainment, where you could stumble into a surprise, laugh a little, dance a little, and not have to treat it like a military operation. Roundup Rodeo BBQ That nostalgia is all over these responses. People are not just reacting to this specific announcement. They’re reacting to the broader feeling that Disney keeps building almost-right ideas while fans keep remembering the version that felt more complete. And Then Came the Nostalgia Avalanche This is where the comments turned from “interesting park debate” into “family therapy session with rhinestones.” Because once readers started talking about what this Toy Story offering should be, they quickly pivoted into what they miss. Some wanted the can-can dancers back at Diamond Horseshoe. A couple of readers came right out with “Bring back the Cancan dancers!!” and “Blah blah blah blah… bring back the can-can dancers!” Can-Can Dancers Others went broader. One reader wanted Pizza Planet brought back and made to actually look like the movie version. Another said they’d rather see characters return to Trattoria al Forno before anything else. And then, towering above the rest like a cowboy boot planted firmly on our collective emotional windpipe, came the comment that basically became the thesis statement of this whole post: “Bring Back Mickeys Backyard BBQ. Nothing beats that’s!!” There it is. The winner. The champion. The all-caps emotional support memory. Mickey’s Backyard BBQ sign For newer Disney fans, Mickey’s Backyard BBQ was a long-running Fort Wilderness dinner show Disney previously listed in official dining-plan materials as a seasonal offering. It had barbecue, music, dancing, and a rowdy, family-style atmosphere that many longtime visitors still remember fondly. Disney no longer offers it, but clearly, some fans have never emotionally checked out of that queue. And really, can you blame them? Because that comment says everything. Fans are not anti-change. They’re not even anti-Toy Story at Diamond Horseshoe. They’re just carrying the ghost of Disney dining past around in a sequined tote bag. Why This Announcement Still Matters Even with the location complaints and nostalgia spiral, this is still a meaningful summer addition for a few reasons. First, it gives families one more kid-focused, lower-stakes interactive offering in Magic Kingdom during a very busy season. Summer in Disney World can be hot, chaotic, and occasionally feel like you’re being slow-roasted inside a popcorn cart. So having an indoor, character-powered, high-energy activity where kids can dance around and burn off some wiggles is not nothing. The Diamond Horseshoe Second, it adds another layer to Disney World’s broader Cool KIDS’ SUMMER lineup. Beyond the Diamond Horseshoe Toy Story revue, Disney is also bringing in Bluey and Bingo at Animal Kingdom, GoofyCore at CommuniCore Hall in EPCOT, Disney Jr. Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Live! at Hollywood Studios, plus dance parties at Disney Springs and extra character fun at the water parks. Resort hotel guests at Pop Century, Art of Animation, Caribbean Beach, and Port Orleans Riverside will also find added family activities like scheduled character appearances, story time, pool parties, and campfires. The Diamond Horseshoe So if your family is heading to Disney World this summer, this isn’t just one random pop-up in Frontierland. It’s part of a larger strategy to make the parks and resorts feel a little more playful, a little more interactive, and a little more aimed at younger kids and multigenerational groups. Third, even the criticism here is kind of a compliment. Fans aren’t saying, “No one wants Toy Story characters.” They’re saying, “We want more of this, and we want Disney to do it smarter.” That’s actually useful feedback. The demand is clearly there. The passion is clearly there. And if Disney is listening, the message from readers is blindingly obvious: Toy Story deserves a more permanent, more logical, and more immersive dining or entertainment home. So What Do Fans Actually Want? If we boil all these reactions down into one giant plastic sheriff badge of truth, here’s what fans seem to want: They want Toy Story characters in a Toy Story setting. They want interactive dining or entertainment that feels fully baked. They want Disney to stop making them explain its own theming choices back to it. And maybe, just maybe, they want the company to stop retiring beloved experiences and then acting surprised when people keep bringing them up ten years later like a family grudge at Thanksgiving. That’s why this comment section is so good. It’s not just people whining into the digital void. It’s a snapshot of how Disney fans think. They’re excited. They’re nostalgic. They’re picky. They’re occasionally unhinged. They can hold two thoughts in their heads at once: “This sounds fun” and “I still haven’t forgiven you.” Frankly, that’s the most Disney fan thing imaginable. Final Rodeo of Thoughts Disney may have found a cute summer hit with Jessie’s Roundup: A Rip-Roarin’ Revue! at Diamond Horseshoe. There’s plenty here that sounds charming for families, especially during a summer packed with Cool KIDS’ SUMMER entertainment across the parks and resorts. Jessie in Frontierland! But our readers made one thing very clear: this announcement did not just open the saloon doors for excitement. It also kicked open the old memory vault. Because yes, fans are happy to see Woody, Jessie, Bullseye, and friends getting more love. Yes, they think kids will have fun. Yes, some are already mentally booking the trip. But underneath all that excitement is the same spicy little heartbeat: put these characters where they make the most sense, give us the fully themed experience we know you could make, and while you’re at it, don’t think for one second we’ve forgotten Mickey’s Backyard BBQ. As one reader so beautifully, chaotically, and absolutely correctly put it: “Bring Back Mickeys Backyard BBQ. Nothing beats that’s!!” And honestly? That’s not just a comment. That’s a movement. And we get it! Planning your Disney World dining can feel like being handed 47 menus, three reservation windows, six snack opinions, and a ticking clock. 15. If we could only name one restaurant we could eat forever at in Disney Springs, we could probably pick Chef Art Smith’s Homecomin’. There is something about the sweet tea and the Southern bites that keep us coming time and time again. Let’s go to Homecomin’ So, to absolutely no one’s surprise, when we heard they’d dropped a new menu item, we scadaddle over there as quickly as we could to give it a go. Y’all, we’re pretty sure you’re going to love this as much as we do. Everyone, gather around and say hi to the Peanut Brittle Cocktail for $14. This is made with praline liquor, Skrewball Peanut Butter Whisky, salted cream, and coffee. Peanut Brittle Cocktail This totally reminded us of a Tim Hortons Iced Capp, but with alcohol in it. When we ordered, the bartender recommended that we get it iced, and that was definitely the way to go. When you get it at first, the alcohol sits on the bottom, and the cream sits on top, so you have to stir it all together. It went down smoothly and wasn’t overly strong when mixed together. Lots of cream We weren’t massive fans of the peanut bits on top because when you stir them in, you end up sucking up peanut bits, which wasn’t the best texture ever. It wasn’t overly salty, which was nice, and overall it was just a good, classic drink you can easily sip on at brunch or dinner. Homecomin’ We’re going to be dreaming of this drink with a side of biscuits for a while, so make sure you keep following Disney Food Blog for more of the best reviews for your upcoming trip to Disney World. 16. Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin is set to reopen on April 8th with a BUNCH of changes. Buzz The ride is getting new blasters, new ride scenes, a new character, and more. We got the chance to check out the ride before it officially opens as part of a preview, and while we LOVE the new changes, we did spot something that we think might be a problem going forward — and it all has to do with the new blasters. One of the biggest (and most celebrated) changes to the new version of Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin is the replacement of the original, fixed blasters with new ones that can be picked up and aimed in any direction. Previously, you had to fully spin your ride vehicle to aim your blaster at the targets, but now, you can pick up your blaster and point it where you want it to go. This is an extremely welcome change, and we’re not the only ones who think so. New ride vehicles However, it seems as though the new blasters may pose an entirely NEW problem for this ride. While we loved the changes overall, our only complaint was that the blasters are a bit hard to get back into their holsters at the end of the ride. We struggled with ours for a bit before eventually getting it back into the holster. It easily could have just been that we weren’t used to it yet, but it wasn’t as intuitive as other, similar rides we’ve been on. Buzz is back! As an example, Men In Black: Alien Attack at Universal Orlando features a similar blaster situation, but from our experience, it’s much easier to place them back into their holsters at the end of the ride. ©Universal While the Buzz blaster issue isn’t a huge deal in the long run, we can easily see it being a problem for people who are trying to quickly get off the ride — potentially just leaving the blasters hanging instead of putting them back. Ultimately, we’ll have to wait and see how things go when the ride officially opens, but this is definitely something to be aware of before you blast off to infinity and beyond! 22. If there’s one thing Disney fans know, it’s this: never underestimate the power of a wildly popular IP, especially when it comes to two Australian pups. Bluey and Bingo! Bluey is official at the Disney Parks, and she made a big splash! The recent debut of Bluey’s Best Day Ever at Disneyland Park proved exactly that, drawing massive, overwhelming crowds that quickly turned a joyful experience into a logistical headache. Now, with Bluey heading to Disney’s Animal Kingdom, there’s a big question on everyone’s mind — will Disney World be ready, or are we about to see history repeat itself? Disneyland’s Bluey Debut When “Bluey’s Best Day Ever!” opened on March 22nd at Disneyland, the response was intense. The show, hosted in the Fantasyland Theatre, featured multiple showtimes throughout the day, interactive elements, and appearances from Bluey and Bingo. On paper, it sounded like a dream. In reality, opening day quickly spiraled into chaos. You Won’t Believe the CROWDS for Disney’s New Bluey Attraction Bluey’s Best Day Ever Guests flooded the area early, and it didn’t take long for things to become wild. There are currently shows at 9:30 AM, 10:50 AM, 12:10 PM, 1:50 PM, and 3:10 PM. When we were there on opening day, and y’all, it was wild. It felt very unorganized because we didn’t think anyone expected these crowds. They cut the line after the second show to make sure they could fit everyone in the theater. Some people who were lined up since the first show started were able to watch it during the last show. Lines stretched far beyond the theater, with our reporter seeing it reach all the way to Sleeping Beauty Castle. Bluey and Bingo How Disney World’s Bluey Experience Will Be Different Over at Disney World, things will look a bit different, but not necessarily easier. “Bluey’s Wild World” is set to debut on May 26th at Conservation Station inside Rafiki’s Planet Watch at Animal Kingdom. Unlike Disneyland’s theater-based show, this experience will be more free-flowing and interactive. Due to that exact setup, we are concerned. ©Disney Guests will be able to meet Bluey and Bingo, participate in games inspired by the show, dance along, and even explore animal exhibits tied to Australia. It’s a more immersive setup overall, and notably, it’s being placed in a part of the park that doesn’t typically see heavy foot traffic. That might sound like a good move on Disney’s part (and in many ways, it is), but it also introduces a major logistical twist: the only way to get there is via the Wildlife Express Train. That single transportation point could become the biggest bottleneck of all. Wildlife Express A Warning for Disney World Guests Let’s be real, Bluey is huge right now. If Disneyland’s opening day taught us anything, it’s that demand will likely exceed expectations. And at Animal Kingdom, that demand is going to funnel through a very specific path. The Wildlife Express Train could quickly become a crowd control tool. Disney may limit how many guests are allowed to board at a time to prevent Conservation Station from becoming overwhelmed. That means long lines not just for the Bluey experience, but to even reach it. Believe It or Not, Disney’s Animal Kingdom Is About to Get Even More Complicated Conservation Station Even guests who have no interest in Bluey could feel the ripple effects. Increased crowds in that area could shift wait times, alter park flow, and force families to rethink their usual Animal Kingdom strategies. This isn’t just a new meet-and-greet — it’s a potential game-changer for how the park operates during peak hours. The popular attraction, Kilimanjaro Safaris, is located right next to the Wildlife Express and is already a pretty crowded area due to the stroller parking and guests exiting the ride. We could see the line for the train and general traffic from the Safari, making this area a crowded one very soon. The Wildlife Express Tips for Navigating Bluey’s Opening Day If you’re planning to visit Animal Kingdom around May 26th or after, preparation will be key. First, consider heading to the Wildlife Express Train as early as possible. It has not been shared if Bluey’s Wild World will be open during Early Theme Park Entry, but even if not, we recommend heading that way to be some of the first people on the train. Wildlife Express Second, keep expectations flexible. Based on Disneyland’s experience, there may be unexpected delays, changes, or adjustments as Cast Members figure out crowd flows in real time. Patience will go a long way. Third, think strategically about timing. Midday will likely be the busiest, so aiming for earlier or later in the day could improve your chances of a smoother experience. Rafiki’s Planet Watch We don’t know the exact hours of the experience yet, but when Disney releases them, we’ll be sure to let you know! And if meeting Bluey and Bingo isn’t a must-do for your group, you may actually want to avoid Rafiki’s Planet Watch altogether. Finally, stay informed. Disney may implement virtual queues or other crowd management systems depending on demand. Rafiki’s Planet Watch entrance Disneyland’s Bluey debut showed just how powerful this franchise is and how quickly things can change for a new experience. Disney World has the advantage of learning from those early missteps, but the unique layout of Animal Kingdom presents its own set of challenges. If you’re planning to experience Bluey’s Wild World, go in with a plan, expect crowds, and be ready to adapt. 23. There are so many new projects in Disney World right now that you might have forgotten about a brand new hotel coming in 2027. I know we might be distracted by Pueblo Esperanza and Monstropolis, but there’s literally a new hotel, Lakeshore Lodge, and we can only dream about the new rooms, food, pools, and all the details to discover. Lakeshore Lodge Concept Art ©Disney It will be a Disney Vacation Club resort located close to Disney’s Fort Wilderness and “inspired by the majesty of nature and its enduring influence on Disney artists.” Ready to see the newest look? Thanks to @bioreconstruct on X, we’ve gotten new aerial looks of the resort, and it’s definitely coming along. You can see the pool and what we believe is a lazy river being built. There’s still a long way to go; the majority of the building is done, but outdoor work still needs to be completed. ©bioreconstruct It’s expected to have around 900 rooms, and to put that in perspective, Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort has 867 rooms. The main area in front looks like a parking lot (and seems to be where the project’s construction workers have been parking). We haven’t been given many details, like the type of restaurants or any other updates, but we’re pretty excited for it to open so we can check it all out for ourselves. While it is set to open in 2027, we haven’t received an exact opening date, and we wouldn’t exactly be surprised if it got pushed back. ©bioreconstruct For transportation, we believe there will be boat routes, and they have just installed bus shelters. We’re hoping this boat takes us straight to Magic Kingdom, and buses will help you get to the other parks and Disney Springs, too. This is technically a Magic Kingdom area resort, and it even looks like there will be A-frame waterfront cabins. 24. When it comes to dining at Disney World, you’ve got a TON of options. Want something quick and easy? You’ve got it. Something middle-of-the-road and comforting? Yep, that too. And if you’re looking for something upscale and luxurious, you can find that as well. eet by Maneet Chauhan We recently stopped by eet by Maneet Chauhan at Disney Springs to check out some new menu items, and now we’re bringing you our FULL review. Is it worth a stop on your next trip to the Most Magical Place on Earth? Find out here! We stopped by eet by Maneet Chauhan to check out some new eats and drinks, starting with the Cookies n Creme Martini for $14.95. This is made with a mix of whipped cream vodka, cake vodka, and white chocolate liqueur, topped with whipped cream and cookie crumbs. Cookies n Creme Martini This drink was STRONG. It’s essentially three different alcohols mixed together with whipped cream on top — so you’ll definitely need to like the taste of alcohol in order to appreciate this. Imagine cookies and cream blended up with vodka, except without the texture of cookies and cream. It was a bit on the sweet side, and we could see how someone might like this, but it just wasn’t our favorite. A strong drink We also grabbed the Chole/Chana Masala Nachos for $14.95. These are tri-color tortilla chips topped in our signature bubble’s seasoning and layered with rich spiced chickpea chole, raita, tamarind & mint chutneys, fresh kachumber, crispy boondi, cilantro, and a touch of chaat masala. Nachos On social media, these were advertised as Chole Nachos, but when we ordered them, the menu sign called them Chana Masala Nachos — we confirmed they are one in the same. These are totally covered in spices and sauces, creating a real explosion of flavors. The seasoning on the tortilla chips was salty and spicy, and the red sauce on top was made of those same spices. We appreciated the raita on top, because it added a creaminess that helped to cut down some of the spices. There was a great crunch to the toppings, but after a while, they made the chips a little soggy. Such is the price you pay with loaded nachos like these, though. A LOT going on here And, to round everything out, we also recently tried the Queen Bee cocktail for $15.95. This is made with apple vodka, peach schnapps, pineapple juice, and cranberry juice with honey boba pearls — and it comes with a cute little bee friend! Queen Bee This was very delicious — sweet but not overbearing. We could definitely taste the pineapple juice and the green apple the most, with a hint of peach, but we didn’t taste a ton of alcohol, which we appreciated. The popping pearls were also very good, adding some sweetness on top. We wish that it were served with a more appropriate straw for popping pearls, but that would be a pretty big straw for an alcoholic drink. The highlight for us was the silly little bee. Very refreshing on a hot day — we would definitely recommend it to other people. We’re obsessed. In the meantime, we’ll be on the lookout for more restaurant updates from Disney World and beyond.
