There are a lot of unique things you can do in EPCOT that you can’t do in any other Disney World park. For starters, you can eat, drink, and shop around the World without ever leaving World Showcase. You can also visit an aquarium, go on an out-of-this-world adventure, explore the history of communication, and interact with water. There’s just so much to do! A dragon made out of sugar One of our favorite activities was buying sugar art in the China Pavilion, but that activity went away in 2020. However, it returned last month…but now, well, it’s gone away again! OH NO!!!! We recently visited EPCOT and thought we might pop back into the China Pavilion to check out more sugar art at House of Good Fortune. So here’s what it is. Basically, a sugar artist takes sugar and quickly creates a shape out of it before it hardens and dries. And then you can purchase that art on a stick. Plus, it’s also edible because it’s made out of sugar! Look at them making it! Well, when we stopped by the pavilion, we noticed that the station where they had previously been making the sugar art was gone. GONE. So we ended up asking a Cast Member, who told us that it had only been there for the month of April. So if you’d been hoping to get some sugar art for an upcoming trick, well, it won’t happen. It’s so beautiful We’ll admit we’re a bit disappointed that it’s gone, but we hope this means it might come back from time to time (fingers crossed!). In the meantime, we’ll just have to enjoy the China Pavilion without sugar art. We’ll just have to visit House of Good Fortune for shopping for unique Chinese gifts and snacks. Hurricane season lasts about half of the year in Florida, and the weather during that time can impact your vacation plans, particularly if you’re visiting Disney World. Magic Kingdom on a cloudy day In the past, we’ve seen Disney World close its parks and modify operations at its resorts due to particularly nasty hurricanes, and there’s a chance that you could encounter a similar situation during your trip. So what are the important bits to know before you travel to Disney World during hurricane season? We’ve got the top three! 1. The 7-day Rule Before you start panicking and wondering about the status of your vacation, you need to know the 7-day rule. If a hurricane warning is issued by the National Hurricane Center for the Orlando area or your place of residence within seven days of your arrival in Disney World, you may cancel or reschedule your Disney World package without any cancellation or change fees imposed by Disney. Hollywood Studios This also applies to most room-only reservations. If you find yourself in this boat (needing to modify or cancel your trip), you will likely be able to make those updates online via the Disney World website. Phone lines get particularly busy ahead of a storm, so we encourage you to do it on your computer or phone if at all possible. If you booked through a travel agent, they’ll be able to make those changes for you. Fans Share the Wild Reality of Hurricanes in Disney World 2. Booking With Outside Suppliers Now, the first rule is only valid if you’ve booked your trip directly through Disney or used a travel agent who booked directly through Disney. If you used a third-party ticket seller, a tour company, or a major company like AAA, Costco Travel, or Sam’s Club, then you’ll need to defer to their policies. Depending on the rate at which you are booked, your vacation may not be available for modifications or refunds. Rain in EPCOT If there is a hurricane coming to Disney World and you booked with someone other than Disney, you’ll need to reach out to the help line or the person who booked you directly. Disney will not be able to help you with any modifications. This is a very important thing to consider before booking with other companies, because we’ve seen people lose money when they had to cancel trips due to weather, family emergencies, sickness, or a host of other reasons. The Best Essentials for Hurricane Season in Disney World 3. Trips Booked With Discounts The other big “what if” you’ll want to look into is “what if I booked my original trip with a discount?” Perhaps you got a really good deal on a hotel in September, and then a storm comes along that causes you to rebook for a later date. What happens then? Well, if you cancel your trip and you fall under the conditions of #1, then you’ll receive a refund for what you paid so far. If you rebook for different dates, the amount you’ve already paid can be applied to your new reservation. Disney’s Beach Club The important thing to note here is that the offer you booked with may not be available for your new dates. You’re also not guaranteed to have the same resort availability. If the offer isn’t available, Cast Members may be able to assist you in finding new offers (if any) for your updated travel dates. You’ll be responsible for any additional costs for the rebooked vacation. Disney World Expert Advice for Hurricane Season If you keep these three policies in mind, you’ll be able to adjust your plans with ease in case of a hurricane. And sometimes, you don’t have to move your trip at all. We’ve been at Disney World during hurricanes and were well taken care of at our resort during the storm, then went to the parks the next day for low crowds and low wait times. If you’re a California local, you need to hear this! It was just announced that California drivers might soon have the opportunity to get Disneyland-themed license plates. Sleeping Beauty Castle! This is something that has existed for years in Florida, and we are thrilled to see it heading over to California. So let’s dive into how you can grab one of these license plates and the amazing reason why you should. California state officials just announced plans to launch a Disneyland-themed license plate to raise money for children’s hospitals all across California. The California State Treasurer’s Office has stated that to move forward, they need 7,500 people to join the preorder interest list. Partner’s Statue in Disneyland Then they can start the Department of Motor Vehicles’ approval process. Once the number is met, the design review process will start, and they expect to reveal the final design and open presale orders in the next few months. “It’s a small world” in Disneyland These specialized plates will cost $50 for sequential numbers and then $103 if you would like them to be personalized. There will also be annual renewal fees of $40 and $83, depending on whether you purchased the personalization. Pixar Pier at Disney California Adventure Now, let’s get into the most exciting element of this new license plate: they will be raising money for California children’s hospitals! Some BIG things are happening in Magic Kingdom. First, Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin reopened with major changes. Then Big Thunder Mountain Railroad reopened with big changes. A Villains land is being built, while a Cars expansion is currently being constructed in Frontierland. Westward Ho Speaking of which…we’ve been eyeing two spots in Frontierland that we’ve been worried about since the Cars expansion work started. Well, now, we think Disney World has finally confirmed the closing dates for both spots. We previously noticed that Westward Ho, a snack spot in Frontierland, and Big Al’s, a shopping kiosk, were no longer represented on Disney World maps as buildings. This led us to speculation that both might have to close soon to make way for more of Piston Peak, the Cars expansion Disney is currently building in Magic Kingdom. Big Al’s Well, it seems our fears might have been grounded. When we recently checked the Disney World calendar, we noticed that neither Westward Ho nor Big Al’s had hours listed as of June 22nd, which could mean this is the date both locations will permanently close. ©Disney Now, we have to let you know that Disney has not yet confirmed that either of these locations is actually closing. We only know what we’re seeing on the Disney World calendar and map. However, we have studied the concept art for Piston Peak, and we noticed that these locations, which are part of the expansion, were not in any of the artwork we’ve seen so far. ©Disney So we’ve been preparing for these two spots to close, and it seems like it certainly may happen. As to what will happen to the food and merchandise available at these spots? Well, we know the Candied Bacon Skewer, once available at Westward Ho, has been moved over to Golden Oak Outpost, another indication that Westward Ho may be disappearing for good. Disney’s Hollywood Studios theme park is in a state of transformation, with massive projects under construction on both sides of the park: Monsters, Inc. Land on the park’s western edge and the new Walt Disney Studios Lot in the former Animation Courtyard area. ©Disney Both of these projects are reusing or replacing buildings that date back to the park’s original Disney-MGM Studios days, meaning that they are nearly 40 years old at this point. The Former Muppet Courtyard The area once known as the Muppet Courtyard is being transformed into part of Monstropolis from the Pixar classic Monsters, Inc. The former home of the iconic Muppet*Vision 3D… Muppetvision 3D … the Studio 1 store… The Studio 1 Store … Pizzerizzo… PizzeRizzo … and Mama Melrose (which was not Muppet-themed, though it was originally conceived and partially constructed as The Great Gonzo’s Pandemonium Pizza Parlor, a Muppet restaurant that was planned to be as chaotic as its name)…. Mama Melrose’s Ristorante Italiano … are being reappropriated or deconstructed to make up the front of the upcoming land. Muppet*Vision building construction The land’s headline attraction — a hanging coaster based on the film’s iconic door sequence — is being built on land that previously served as a Cast Member parking lot. ©bioreconstruct The Former Animation Courtyard Across the park, the area most recently known as Animation Courtyard is being transformed into the new Walt Disney Studios Lot, which pays homage to the company’s real studio lot in Burbank, right down to the sorcerer’s hat. The area’s main building has held several names over the years. Initially, it was a real working animation studio, a Florida satellite of Walt Disney Animation Studios, where work on films including Mulan, Lilo & Stitch, and Brother Bear was completed. It was also home to the original version of the Magic of Disney Animation attraction, a film/tour attraction that took guests through the studio as part of the park’s original focus on production. The building was later turned into the Star Wars Launch Bay, a themed museum experience that featured Star Wars props, sets, and meet and greets with characters including Darth Vader and Chewbacca. Star Wars Launch Bay Currently, the building is being transformed into a new version of the Magic of Disney Animation, which will feature a new film, Once Upon a Studio theming, sketch classes similar to the original Hollywood Studios, a Mary Blair-inspired playground, and a family-friendly, air-conditioned area. ©Disney The are will also be home to Disney Jr. Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Live!, a live show revolving around Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse searching for Goofy, Daisy Duck, and Pluto as audiences clap, cheer, and dance along as the adventure unfolds.” The show building has hosted several productions over the years, and was once even home to the Catwalk Bar. But the reason we chose this particular lineup of restaurants isn’t just based on personal preference, but also how well we believe each restaurant does catering to different types of guests – from the dedicated Disney fans to the first timers. If your favorite restaurant didn’t make the list, let us know in the comments! The Hollywood Brown Derby 20. Hoop Dee Doo Musical Revue Hoop Dee Doo is located at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort and is one of the most fun ways to spend an evening in Disney World. This is the only dinner theater show inside Disney, and it’s one that’s been around since 1974. Hoop Dee Doo has seen its fair share of changes over the years, but it’s still a good old-fashioned hoedown with singing, dancing, comedy, and all you care to enjoy southern comfort food. Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue You’ll find fried chicken, mashed potatoes, mac and cheese, and if you are over 21, you’ll even receive an ENDLESS selection of sangrias, beers, and wines, too. While the food here is good, it’s not “knock your socks off” good. It’s definitely meant to be a crowd pleaser, but the $70-$78 price tag per person is definitely more about the quantity of the food and the quality of the show. Hoop Dee Doo food While every table will give you a decent view of the show, the higher-priced category 1 (which puts you front and center of things) will definitely give you a better view than the slightly cheaper category 3 (which will give you tables with turnstools where you must swivel to view the show). Strawberry Shortcake It’s also important to note that, if you’re not staying as a guest at Fort Wilderness already, then the resort can be difficult to get to. You can take a bus from any of the theme parks, drive your car (but you will still have to take a bus to get to the restaurant), or take the boat from Magic Kingdom. Plan your transportation to the resort accordingly and make sure you give yourself plenty of time to arrive before the show. Disney recommends showing up at least 30 minutes before, though it’s not a bad idea to try to get there even sooner than that. REVIEW: Is Disney World’s Classic Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue Still WORTH the Price Tag?! Hoop Dee Doo 19. Satuli Canteen Satuli Canteen, inside Pandora in Disney’s Animal Kingdom, is a quick service that we find ourselves coming back to time and again if we’re looking to fill up on hearty, easy-to-share bowls that give us the option to choose our own base, protein, and sauce. We love that the options here definitely go beyond your traditional theme park eats. Chicken Bowl While some of the flavors may be too complex for pickier eaters, adults and kiddos alike can also order items like the cheeseburger pods, as well as “Teylu” All-Beef Hot Dog (very similar to pigs in a blanket), which you can order off the kids’ menu. Satuli also serves a unique spread of breakfast options. Cheeseburger Pod Despite this being a quick service option, Satuli is definitely a pricer quick service than most of the others you’ll find around the parks. And during peak meal times, you might find that Satuli gets pretty packed out. Consider placing your Mobile Order for Satuli at the start of your day. That way, you can choose your preferred pick-up window instead of trying to order at the last second, only to find out that you’ll still have to wait 30+ minutes before your meal is ready. The One Disney World Quick Service Restaurant That’s Practically Perfect to Just About Everyone Satuli Canteen 18. The Polite Pig The Polite Pig at Disney Springs features Modern Barbecue in a variety of wood-fired smoked and grilled items – with ALL boozy drinks served on tap. This is a great choice for all the meat-eaters out there. There are lots of options to choose from – like BBQ meatballs, cedar plank salmon, the butcher board for two, and MORE. Butcher Board Granted, all my plant-based eaters will be more strapped to find an entree they can eat here, but we wouldn’t discount making those à la carte market sides into a meal as is. Because you can build up a nice little veggie-based meal with them — including options such as the BBQ cauliflower, grilled street corn, and crispy brussels sprouts. This restaurant is a favorite, so it does get crowded here, and it’s not the cheapest quick service option. However, The Polite Pig rarely ever lets us down when it comes to quality, quick-service eats. REVIEW: We Went To This Disney Restaurant Just For Corn, And We Have ZERO Regrets Signature Cocktail Flight 17. Morimoto Asia Morimoto Asia is the only signature-style Disney Springs restaurant. Morimoto Asia is a Michelin-recognized restaurant and is also Iron Chef Masaharu Morimoto’s first Pan-Asian restaurant that focuses on Chinese, Japanese, and Korean cuisines. The great thing about this signature location is that, while SEVERAL dishes are rather pricey here, there are more affordable dim-sum style options to try, as well. Morimoto Asia You may also get to enjoy cheaper (and different) dim sum/small plate options during Morimoto’s weekend brunch (on Saturdays and Sundays, starting at noon), or you can find a selection of Morimoto foods to eat in quick service fashion thanks to the Morimoto Asia Street Food window attached to the main restaurant. Full spread at Morimoto Asia If you really love Asian cuisine, I would put the main restaurant on your bucket list — just because the setting is impressive, the variety of menu options is great, and the service here is some of the best. That all being said, if you’re budgeting back for a really nice signature meal and you can only choose one, there are other signature restaurants on our list that we tend to pick over Morimoto. But if you enjoy flavors like ginger, miso, and hoisin, Morimoto will definitely give you a higher-end experience than your local Chinese takeout spot. REVIEW: If You Haven’t Been to This Disney Springs Restaurant, Book a Reservation ASAP Peking Duck 16. Geyser Point Bar And Grill The Geyser Point Bar and Grill over at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge doesn’t get nearly as much recognition as it deserves. If you’re looking for a spot to escape the Magic Kingdom crowds, this is it. You just hop on a boat from the park and ride right on over to Wilderness Lodge for a meal and drink at Geyser Point. It’s a rustic, waterfront, open-air setting with a variety of light bites, entrees, and drink options that you’re only gonna find here. Geyser Point Food The food here isn’t necessarily wildly adventurous, but it sure is different than your classic fried chicken and hot dog options. Small bites include items like shrimp on a wire, charcuterie flatbread, and even plant-based mac and cheese bites. And the hearty items feature entrees like BBQ ribs, multigrain salads, and the bison cheeseburger. Geyser Point Bar & Grill This is definitely the type of restaurant you go to when the weather is picture perfect, but it might not be, like, a go-to when things are starting to get really stormy. It’s also worth mentioning that, much like Hoop Dee Doo, this is yet another resort that is more out in the literal woods. So if you’re not already a Wilderness Lodge guest and you don’t want to make the extra trip this direction just to eat at a further away location with no characters to entertain your kids, this might not be for you. REVIEW: Need a BREAK From Magic Kingdom? Try This Hidden Spot! Bison Burger and Waffle Fries 15. Columbia Harbour House If you are tired of the same old theme park eats across Magic Kingdom’s quick services, then you need to try Columbia Harbour House. This is definitely a place for those who love seafood, both grilled and fried, but have always been apprehensive about eating seafood inside a theme park, because we promise, they do it right. Columbia Harbour House Not only does Columbia Harbour House have solid options when it comes to fish, shrimp, and lobster rolls. We also love the pleather of indoor seating found here. Now, if you are not a huge fan of seafood or if you have a seafood allergy, then this probably isn’t the go-to for you. But we will say that the chicken tenders and hushpuppies from this location are some of our favorites. REVIEW: The PERFECT Magic Kingdom Lunch Option Under $7 tons of seating here 14. Raglan Road If you get nothing else from your visit to Raglan Road, you’re sure to have a good time. Between the river dancing, live music, and seasonal menu selections, Raglan Road keeps things fresh no matter when you go. Raglan Road is an Irish Pub, but all of the Irish entrees and apps take on a more modern approach. The drink menu is expansive here, and you can expect options like beer and whiskey flights, specialty cocktails, various wines, and more. Raglan Road There are three quick things I need to warn you about when it comes to the onstage entertainment here. First, it’s not always happening, but you can check updated show times via the Raglan Road website. Second, if you’re not seated in the main center dining room, you might not be able to see the show. You can request a table near the entertainment when you check in at the host stand, but actually getting the table you requested is never a guarantee. Lastly, the entertainment does get LOUD. So if you wanted to eat somewhere that’s gonna allow you to have a nice conversation with your group, Raglan Road isn’t gonna be that sort of restaurant most of the time. REVIEW: FINALLY! We Found a Place To Get Lunch in Disney World for Under $20 — and It WON’T Let You Down Irish dancers at Raglan Road 13. Shiki Sai Sushi Izakaya Yes, you might know Shiki Sai Sushi Izakaya at EPCOT as the restaurant with the $300 sushi boat! Now granted, the sushi boat is the most expensive item you can order at Shiki Sai. There are a lot of other items here that’re a lot less expensive, including individual sushi rolls, shareable plates, rice and noodle bowls, and a rotating list of seasonal options, as well. Sushi Boat Much like Morimoto Asia, Shiki Sai stands out from your typical Asian restaurants back home thanks to its unique flavors and atmosphere — you might even get to see virtual fireworks during your meal! But we will say, if you’re coming here strictly for some mind-blowing sushi — the sushi here is GOOD, but nothing that truly stands out from other high-end sushi restaurants outside the Disney bubble. I Spent $300 For This in EPCOT, and I’d Do It Again in a Heartbeat Wagyu Nigiri 12. Homecomin’ At Disney Springs If you are on the hunt for Disney’s best fried chicken, you’ve got to check out Chef Art Smith’s Homecomin‘, over in Disney Springs. Homecomin’ focuses on the whole “farm to fork” vibe with its southern specialities and Floridian influences. Homecomin’ And while there are several good options on the menu here (like the Key West shrimp cocktail, Cuban sandwich, variety of a la carte sides, and hummingbird cake), the variety of fried chicken options — for lunch, dinner, and weekend brunch — is really what makes this place shine. Meatloaf Main Plate at Chef Art Smith’s Homecomin’ And speaking of shine… don’t forget about the Shine on Tap! Homecomin’ offers five different moonshine cocktails, or you can order the shine flight to sample them all. We will tell you that the food at Homecomin’ isn’t all heavy, but a lot of it is, so come hungry! REVIEW: Homecomin’ at Disney Springs Just Got Even BETTER With This New Burger Moonshine Flight 11. ‘Ohana We need to preface this one — ‘Ohana for dinner has… not been our favorite experience as of late. It used to be in one of our top spots; however, recently, we found it slipping. But, ‘Ohana for breakfast is still a pretty solid spot! Ohana’s Best Friends Breakfast is the only character dining experience property-wide, where you’ll be able to meet Lilo and Stitch during your meal. Stitch at ‘Ohana Breakfast is served to your table in various family-style skillets featuring classic morning staples like Scrambled Eggs, warm biscuits, and Mickey-shaped waffles — PLUS Stitch waffles! You’re also going to see some more unique tropical flavors amongst the skillet options, such as Hawaiian-style Ham with Pineapple Compote, Pork Breakfast Sausage Links, and Fried Island-style Potatoes. Breakfast at ‘Ohana But it’s the Freshly Made Pineapple-Coconut Breakfast Bread that we REALLY can’t get enough of here. That bread is light, fluffy, fresh, and VERY sweet, with little chunks of pineapple baked throughout. And the lightly drizzled icing on top? Dreams come true. REVIEW: Disney World Fans Often SWEAR by This Restaurant, but Does It Live up to the Hype? ‘Ohana bread pudding 10. California Grill The California Grill at the Contemporary Resort is a Michelin-recognized restaurant inside Disney World. This particular signature restaurant is situated at the tippy top of the Contemporary Resort, so that, if you’re here around dinner time, you can actually watch the Magic Kingdom fireworks either from your window-side table or from the private outdoor balcony. The view from Disney’s Contemporary Resort The prix fixe menu at California Grill is always rotating out to keep up with what’s market fresh. But we will say the cost of this restaurant has increased over the past few years. Once upon a time, before Disney World’s 50th anniversary celebration kicked off in 2021, the whole menu was à la carte. Now, the prix fixe meal here (including an appetizer, entree, and dessert) will cost you $99 per adult minimum. Though it might still be worth it for the elevated eats and fireworks views. REVIEW: Disney World Just Changed Its Iconic Goat Cheese Ravioli…But We Have GOOD NEWS! Dining room with shades 9. Karamell Kuche I know, I know — Karamell Kuche inside EPCOT’s Germany Pavilion isn’t technically a restaurant. But hear me out, if given the choice, we would pick snacking on the fresh caramel treats at Karamell Kuche over eating at most table service restaurants around EPCOT. Karamell-Küche Karamell Kuche is a charming caramel shop that lures you in with the sweet smell of warm, buttery caramel. Then, once you’re inside, you’ll find the sweet-smelling culprits behind the glass display case, from candy squares to caramel cookies, to caramel-covered apples, and more. We also love that you can Mobile Order your sweets here for dessert on the go! REVIEW: This Hidden EPCOT Snack Never Lets Us Down Caramel Carrot Cake Whoopie Pie 8. Les Halles Boulangerie Pâtisserie The DFB team strongly believes that this is the best quick service you’re going to find in all of EPCOT. Les Halles Boulangerie-Patisserie is tucked away inside the back of the France Pavilion. While there can be a long line, the wait tends to be well worth it when you reach the bakery display cases and realize that you’ve got a LOT of options to choose from, and at decent prices too. Quite the line! If you’re looking for something more substantial — to satisfy breakfast, lunch, or dinner — the savory section of the menu includes several different house-made sandwiches, as well as some more unique items like the Quiche Lorraine and Bisque de Homard. And for dessert, your sweet tooth is so not gonna be let down! There are LOTS of pastries and sugary treats for you to try — including croissants, beignets, tarts, eclairs, macarons, and more. The biggest problem with this quick service is its lack of space. Indoor seating is very limited, so be prepared to take your champagne and $5 full-sized baguette on the go. WARNING: Don’t Judge This EPCOT Snack By Its Looks Jambon Beurre 7. Le Cellier Steakhouse Le Cellier Steakhouse, over at the Canada Pavilion, is a long-time favorite signature restaurant of mine. Le Cellier continues to provide stellar quality steaks, poutine, cheddar cheese soup, and a variety of other innovative yet hearty dishes. But, after years and years of returning to this place for updated DFB reviews, our thoughts about it still remain the same. New York Strip Steak The vibes are GREAT for a romantic date-night setting, and the quality of the meat goes way beyond typical theme park standards. But Le Cellier still isn’t the best fit for those who’ve got little ones in their group who won’t or don’t want to sit in a dark restaurant with no Mickey and Minnie in sight. REVIEW: 2 NEW Menu Items Just Dropped at Le Cellier in EPCOT and We Have THOUGHTS Le Cellier can feel crowded 6. Cinderella’s Royal Table Okay, the most popular restaurant in ALL of Disney World… Cinderella’s Royal Table at Magic Kingdom. We will be honest — the food at Cinderella’s Royal Table, whether you come here during breakfast, lunch, or dinner, isn’t BAD, but it’s really not worth the $76 per person price tag for breakfast, or the $89 per person price tag for lunch and dinner. Our meal at Cinderella’s Royal Table What makes the price more worth it is the fact that you’re dining inside THE Cinderella Castle, meeting your favorite Disney princesses, and taking part in a wishing star ceremony. It’s a bucket list experience, for sure. And it’s a bucket list experience that can absolutely be worth the investment, and to see your kid’s face light up. But when it comes to the overall food quality? Don’t set expectations too terribly high. We Reviewed the Hardest Dinner Reservation You Can Get in Magic Kingdom Aurora at Cinderella’s Royal Table 5. Trader Sam’s Grog Grotto Trader Sam’s Grog Grotto over at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort is an enchanted, tropical bar with fun theming. In case you’re not familiar with the Trader Sam’s backstory, Trader Sam is a famous head salesman (whom you hear about while you’re on the Jungle Cruise in Magic Kingdom) who turned into a mystical artifacts gift shop owner. Poor Sam needed a place to store all of the stuff he’s collected from his travels all over the globe, and that’s what the Grog Grotto is… a tucked-away storage unit where anything could happen. Trader Sam’s Grog Grotto The speciality cocktails are what activate the interactive enchanted elements around the room. There’s more than great drinks here. A variety of island-inspired apps are served here, as well — like kalua pork tacos, pan-fried dumplings, a Thai chicken flatbread, and more. Trader Sam’s Recently, Disney extended the hours for this popular lounge. So now, instead of opening at 3PM daily, it opens at 11AM. That being said, this place is still mighty popular, and it doesn’t take reservations, so when you join the walk-up waitlist (in person or on the app), it might still be a bit before you’re called back. REVIEW: There’s a Reason This Disney World Lounge Always Has a Line Out the Door Full spread at Trader Sam’s Grog Grotto 4. Boma Boma at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge is a buffet, but it also isn’t JUST a buffet. It’s a whole cultural experience. Boma takes African food influences as well as American food influences to build a buffet spread that can satisfy adventurous and picky eaters alike. Lunch and dinner offer up options like Durban chicken, tamarind BBQ pork ribs, sweet corn pudding, butternut squash soup, and more. Boma Breakfast is typically more in our wheelhouse since you can still get a mix of African AND American style eats for a much cheaper price point — $39 per person instead of $58. And breakfast will hook ya up with fresh carved ham, turkey bobotie (which is an African-style quiche), deviled eggs with smoked salmon, simba waffles, and a whole lot of other unique options that’ll make going up for a second, third, or even fourth plate a whole lot more tempting. Time for dessert! Boma is NOT a character dining experience, but if you want a similar African-style buffet PLUS character meet and greets included, you may wanna book reservations for Tusker House inside Animal Kingdom PARK instead! REVIEW: Hands Down, This is Still The One of BEST Breakfast Options in Disney World We really loved this meal! 3. Garden Grill Garden Grill Restaurant at EPCOT is known for its comfort-classic menu AND characters. The food is served in family-style skillets. This meal will fill your group up with substantial items like cornbread, steak, turkey, mashed potatoes, mac and cheese, and garden fresh salad (that comes straight from the EPCOT greenhouses as featured in the Living with the Land boat ride). Garden Grill skillet Meanwhile, breakfast will give you more of a traditional morning spread with pastries, fresh fruit, eggs, bacon, skillet potatoes, and Mickey-shaped waffles. Breakfast at Garden Grill Garden Grill is also a character dining experience — where you’ll meet Chip and Dale, Pluto, and Farmer Mickey. This is one of the more relaxed character dining experiences on property, as it is one of the small restaurants, and you will be able to see the characters multiple times. Do note that the restaurant spins. Not like Mad Tea Party spinning, but the dining room does slowly rotate during your meal, giving you multiple unique angles of the Living with the Land boat ride from a bird’s eye view. REVIEW: As If We Needed ANOTHER Reason To Go to Garden Grill at EPCOT Mickey at Garden Grill 2. Victoria And Albert’s This might be the most expensive restaurant that you eat at in Disney World, but we have to give credit where credit’s due. Victoria and Albert’s at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort is more than the sum of really good food. It’s a pure love letter to all the food connoisseurs out there. Victoria and Albert’s Victoria and Albert’s is basically three formal restaurants in one because you can choose from one of three rooms that’ll give you a different experience and price point, depending on what you select. There is the Dining Room is gonna be your least expensive option, but if this tells you anything, that’s still $295+ per person. The dining room features a Chef’s Tasting Menu with 8-10 courses that change up regularly, depending on what’s fresh and in season. Victoria & Albert’s Dining Room The Queen Victoria’s Room is a more secluded option where you’ll also enjoy the Chef’s Tasting Menu, along with a slightly expanded list of offerings and even more courses to taste. This option starts at $375+ per person. Queen Room at Victoria & Albert’s And finally, the most expensive and exclusive option is the Chef’s Table. This is where you’ll dine on a special menu catered specifically to your tastes, preferences, hopes, dreams, and dietary restrictions. But one of the best parts about dining at the Chef’s Table is that you’ll have a table with a front-row view of the kitchen so you can watch as your meal is prepared in front of you in real time, and you’ll have a chance to chit-chat with the chefs responsible for crafting your menu for the evening. But it will cost you $425+ for this one-of-a-kind dining experience. REVIEW: We Ate the MOST EXPENSIVE and EXCLUSIVE MEAL in Disney World. Here’s What It Was Like. Watch a working kitchen 1. Nomad Lounge Anyone shocked that a lounge took the top title today? I’ll tell you one thing… the DFB team sure isn’t. Because all of us LOVE this place. Nomad Lounge is attached to Animal Kingdom’s signature restaurant, Tiffins. Nomad Lounge allows us to try some small bites that come straight from the Tiffins kitchen, while also sipping on some of the best handcrafted cocktails Disney resort-wide. Nomad Lounge lunch Nomad Lounge also serves a specialty deep amber ale, called the Kungaloosh Spiced Excursion, that’s brewed EXCLUSIVELY for Disney World! The atmosphere at Nomad Lounge speaks to all the wanderers, travelers, and nomads-at-heart. Inside seating features soft curtains, warm hues, and banisters hanging from the ceiling that highlight the imagineers who traveled to other countries to help make Animal Kingdom into what it is today. Outdoor seating But outside seating is a wraparound porch with plush furniture, gorgeous waterfront views, and peace. Just peace in the midst of a hectic Disney World vacation. And if it’s slightly drizzling while you’re sitting on the porch? Immaculate vibes. Everyone knows Delta Airlines for their quality service, operational reliability, and comfortable seats. But our favorite thing about flying Delta is by far the free Biscoff cookies! These guys might be the only reason we fly Delta! ©Delta If you’re also a fellow Biscoff fan, then we have to break some terrible news to you. According to USA Today, Delta is changing its snack policy! If you’re taking a short Delta Airlines flight on or after May 19th, you won’t receive food and beverage service! The Atlanta-based airline will no longer provide any food or beverage service on flights of 349 miles or less. This move will remove snack distribution from around 450 daily flights, which is just under 10% of their routes. ©Delta “Beginning May 19th, Delta is adjusting onboard beverage service to create a more consistent experience across our network,” a Delta spokesperson told USA TODAY. “Even on the small number of flights without beverage service, our crew will continue to be visible, available, and focused on caring for our customers, like they do on every flight.” ©Getty Images Delta will still offer full food and beverage service on flights of 350 miles or more for Delta Comfort and Delta Main Cabin passengers, which is about 14% of its daily flights. And even on flights of 349 miles or less, First Class passengers will still have access to complimentary snacks. They’re the exact same cookies minus the Delta Airlines branding! While they’re not free, you can often find value packs at Costco or Sam’s Club for a great discount. ©Lotus Delta joins other major U.S. carriers that don’t provide in-flight service on short flights. On United Airlines, snacks are only offered on flights over 300 miles. In addition, American Airlines doesn’t offer food and beverages on flights that are under 250 miles. ©American Airlines This isn’t the only change hitting Delta soon. The airline will axe seven popular routes this summer due to rising fuel costs. Today is a BIG day for The Walt Disney Company. That’s because the company just released its second quarter 2026 earnings report and had its first earnings call with its new CEO, Josh D’Amaro. ©Disney During the earnings call, we learned some pretty important things about how the company is doing. We learned about theme park attendance, as well as how the company’s streaming is doing, how the company is doing financially, and more. D’Amaro also shared some important details on his goals for The Walt Disney Company in 2026. So let’s take a look at them! According to The Wall Street Journal, D’Amaro wrote a letter of almost 3,000 words to Disney shareholders outlining his vision for the future of the company. In the letter, as well as during the earnings call, D’Amaro stressed four priorities: Investing in creative storytelling During the earnings call, D’Amaro spoke about how creativity is central to the execution of every strategy Disney puts together. This includes investing in existing franchises, but also expanding original ideas and stories. According to Disney’s earnings report, part of this strategy includes “Investing in IP and creativity that breaks through, builds connections, and endures.” This includes Pixar, which has seen a total of eight original films since 2017. This includes Hoppers, which was released earlier this year, but also the upcoming Gatto, which will be released in 2027. ©Disney Disney recently unified its Entertainment content businesses under Dana Walden, the company’s new President and Chief Creative Officer, to support “a cohesive vision across film, television, streaming, and games.” D’Amaro also stressed that storytelling is central to ESPN’s success, and mentioned Disneyland Paris’ World of Frozen, which recently opened, about how the company took a franchise’s intellectual property (IP) to make it an immersive experience for fans. Strengthening Streaming D’Amaro also wants to focus on continuing to strengthen Disney’s streaming platforms. Disney+ and Hulu profits went up 88% in the most recent quarter, thanks to subscriber growth, price increases, and improvements made with advertising. Disney also wants to focus on driving Disney+ growth outside the U.S. and is seeing early success with local original programming. ©Disney The company is also looking to build Disney+ into something beyond a premium streaming video service by making it “more engaging, more personalized, and more central to how fans experience our brands.” This could include creating a super app, where fans can interact with everything Disney on one central platform. Capturing the power of live sports via ESPN Disney is also doubling down on “the power of sports to aggregate live, passionate audiences across our platforms.” Not only does live sports attract new subscribers, but it also offers marketers engaged audiences. Disney believes ESPN is positioned well to serve fans in this aspect. ©Disney Over time, Disney will continue to build live sports into streaming, with ESPN being core to that strategy. In Q2 2026, ESPN had the largest share of linear sports consumption among total viewers, although it was competing against both the Super Bowl and the Olympics. The strategy for ESPN will be continued innovation with a focus on new content partners and distributing through direct and wholesale channels. Delivering on bold growth plans at experience As we’ve seen, there’s been a new focus on expanding U.S. theme parks, with major expansion projects happening at both Disney World and Disneyland. This also includes the growth of Disney Cruise Line, which can be seen with the recent launch of the Disney Adventure, which is based in Singapore. Several more ships will be making their Disney Cruise Line debuts soon. Disney Adventure However, Disney is also starting to think about other experiences that aren’t theme park or cruise-related, including games, stressing that games are a medium where younger audiences tend to go to engage with characters and stories. The report points out that its collaboration with Epic Games is central to these efforts, including Fortnite. In Fortnite, Disney characters are among the most popular. Disney just dropped some MAJOR news that guests planning a 2027 trip NEED to know! Blooming Rose The Disney Dining Plan has long been a favorite offering amongst Disney guests. In fact, many 2026 guests are taking advantage of Disney’s free dining plan offer this year! However, there are even more special offers on tap for next year! While 2026 is still far from over, Disney has already started dropping info on savings for 2027. The first offers 20% on dining for kids (ages 3 to 9) when a guest purchases a package that includes a Dining Plan for their family. Now, admittedly, this is a bit of a step down from the “Kids Eat Free” offer from 2026, but it’s still a massive savings that will add up when booking. Meeting at tables The second is specifically for guests visiting Disney World from the United Kingdom and Ireland, who are eligible for a Free Disney Dining Plan discount. To qualify, they’ll need to book a full-price Walt Disney World package, which includes the hotel and park tickets, for a minimum of five nights and a maximum of 21 nights. The package needs to be booked by November 4th, 2026, for most arrival dates between January 3rd and December 19th, 2027. Fish and Chips Arguably, the best part is that those deals can be paired with a REVAMPED version of the plan, as Disney is introducing a NEW Dining Plan Tier for the first time in years! Before we get to the latest offering, a quick rundown of the traditional tiers that Disney has offered since the COVID pandemic: There’s the Quick Service Dining Plan that offers the basics, as each member of the travel party ages 3 and up receives: 2 Quick-Service Meals Per Night of Stay 1 Snack or Nonalcoholic Beverage Per Night of Stay 1 Resort-Refillable Drink Mug Chicken Tenders at Cosmic Ray’s The Quick Service Dining Plan will cost $62.78 per adult per night, ages 10 and up, and $25.82 per child per night, ages 3 to 9, in 2027. The traditional Disney Dining Plan offers “classic dining options at both quick-service and table-service restaurants,” as everyone in the party ages 3 and up receives: 1 Quick-Service Meal Per Night of Stay 1 Table-Service Meal Per Night of Stay 1 Snack or Nonalcoholic Beverage Per Night of Stay 1 Resort-Refillable Drink Mug Sustainable Verlasso Salmon This plan will cost $99.87 per adult per night, ages 10 and up, and $31.94 per child per night, ages 3 to 9 in 2027. Next year, the plan will be renamed the Table-Service Dining Plan. The reason for that name change? 2027 will see the introduction of the NEW Disney Deluxe Table-Service Dining Plan, which will include: Two table service entrées, dessert (lunch and dinner only), OR full buffet. Guests under 21 years of age can choose one non-alcoholic beverage with their Quick Service and Table Service meal. Guests 21 and older can choose either one non-alcoholic beverage (including specialty beverages where offered) or one single serving mixed cocktail, beer, or wine. One quick service meal, including entrée OR combo meal. One snack/nonalcoholic drink One Resort refillable drink mug per person, per package Oysters Rockefeller The new plan will cost $163.01 per adult per night, ages 10 and up, and $46.85 per child per night, ages 3 to 9. It looks like we’re going to have to retrain ourselves, because Virtual Queue is coming back to Disney World! Hollywood Studios Disney’s Hollywood Studios is undergoing a lot of construction for upcoming projects. Monstropolis is progressing rapidly, and we’re getting ready for the opening of both the Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets and the Walt Disney Studios. Disney announced that Annual Passholder previews are coming for The Muppets rollercoaster, and the virtual queue is coming with it. Annual Passholder previews are coming for Rock ‘n’ Rollercoaster Starring The Muppets on May 21st, 22nd, and 23rd. Disney confirmed that Annual Passholders will have to join a virtual queue in order to get a chance at riding the ride. Rock ‘n’ Rollercoaster Starring The Muppets For these previews, the virtual queue is going to have three windows of opportunity for Passholders to join. The first virtual queue will open at 7 AM for Passholders with a Hollywood Studios reservation. The second virtual queue will open at 11 AM for Passholders with a reservation to any park for that day. However, you’ll need to scan into whatever park holds your reservation before heading to Hollywood Studios. The third, and final virtual queue, will open at 3 PM for Passholders with valid admission — no park reservation is required. Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets Make sure you’re on the My Disney Experience app, and you’re ready when the times hit. Virtual queues can fill up very fast, and it might leave you with nothing. Once it’s full, it won’t reopen till the next window. Once all those are full, you’ll have to wait for the next day. Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets Virtual Queue was briefly at Hollywood Studios for Star Wars Day on May the 4th. The virtual queue was being used for shopping experiences to get exclusive merchandise. So, you may have had the chance to get yourself a little used to the system, if you participated, since Disney World hasn’t used this system for a little while now. May the 4th With the virtual queue system coming back for The Muppets rollercoaster Passholder previews, it has us wondering if it’s coming back for anything else. The new version of Millennium Falcon Smugglers Run, featuring Mando and Grogu, debuts on May 22nd, but there hasn’t been any word of a virtual queue to preview that. ©Disney Looking very far ahead in the future, some of the new lands at Hollywood Studios, Animal Kingdom, and Magic Kingdom could be using a virtual queue for previews. Disney hasn’t said anything yet (which makes sense considering they aren’t close to done), but it wouldn’t be surprising. We’re not anticipating virtual queue will be used for everyday guests when those lands open, but it’s been used in the past for attractions, so there’s always that possibility. Encanto is coming to Animal Kingdom! For now, we’ll focus on the virtual queue that is coming for Rock ‘n’ Rollercoaster Starring The Muppets, before the attraction officially opens for guests on May 26th. Remember, the virtual queue will be for Annual Passholders only! When it comes to dining at Disney World, you’ve got a TON of options, and that’s especially true if you’re heading into EPCOT! There are dozens of restaurants, a mix of quick service and table service, and so many of them have cuisine from all around the world. Eton Mess We recently stopped by Rose & Crown in the UK Pavilion to see what was cookin’, and now we’re bringing you our FULL review. Is stopping here worth the time you could be spending riding Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure or Test Track? Let’s find out! Atmosphere Rose & Crown is a cozy, small restaurant that you’ve likely walked right past many times. You can often find bar patrons spilling out the front doors, giving the impression that this is only a bar, but that’s not true! There’s a whole restaurant inside, where you can sit down and enjoy some classic British eats. Rose & Crown The dining room has a warm, cozy atmosphere with lots of wood fixtures and traditional decorations, so much so that you’ll really feel like you’ve been transported over to the United Kingdom! It’s not overly bright or overwhelming, though — the magic is in the details, so you’ll want to look closely for them. Inside As this spot isn’t the largest, and it’s often a stop for many people drinking around the world, this spot can often get pretty noisy, especially if the pianist is playing! This is especially true as it gets later on in the evening, so if that’s potentially an issue, we recommend making your dining reservation for earlier in the day. It’s cozy This time, we got to sit outside, which offers a lovely view of the water. So you can imagine this is also a great spot to reserve if you want to watch Luminous: The Symphony of Us, EPCOT’s nighttime show. Outdoor seating But enough about the restaurant — what’s on the menu here?! Menu The menu here isn’t overly large, so if you’re looking for something that has LOTS of options for everyone in your party to find something perfect, this may not be the best fit. For an appetizer, you can grab either the Coronation Salad or Scotch Egg, and there are just four entrees on the menu: Fish and Chips, Bangers and Mash, Cottage Pie, and Tikka Masala. Menu To top the meal off, you can select Sticky Toffee Pudding and/or Eton Mess for dessert. While there is a kids’ menu, they’ll get a House Salad as their appetizer, either Grilled Chicken or Fish and Chips for their entree, and then a Fruit Salad or Chocolate Caterpillar Cake for dessert. Eats First up, we grabbed the Cottage Pie for $30. It’s made with Braised Beef, Root Vegetables, English Peas, Jus, and Mashed Potatoes with Irish Cheddar. This has replaced the Shepherd’s Pie on the menu, but it’s very similar. The only real difference is that the meat is more like a pot roast kind of meat, rather than ground beef, like it was before. The braised beef is nice and tender, too. Cottage pie The potatoes are fluffy, and with the cheese on top, and then you have that salty and gooey crust. There’s a nice texture from the carrots and peas. Overall, this is a hearty, comforting dish that can make you feel nostalgic, even if you’ve never had it before. These aren’t super unique flavors, but they are familiar and beloved. It’s hearty We also wanted to try a new dessert here, the Eton Mess. This is a traditional English dessert with Strawberries, Whipped Cream, and Meringue for $9. It’s believed to have been created at Eton College and is usually served at the annual Eton College cricket match when playing Harrow School. So this dessert has a WHOLE history going on for it. This is also the plant-based option for dessert at Rose & Crown. It’s simple and light, and if you’ve had a heavy meal, it’s perfect. What it looks like The fresh strawberries were in a syrup, so they’re sweeter than tart. The meringue is fluffy and offers a nice complement to the strawberries. Even if you’re not looking for a plant-based dessert, this is a nice option. It’s light and refreshing Finally, we had to try the new kids’ dessert, the Chocolate Caterpillar Cake. So this cake is based on a similar cake sold in Marks & Spencer, a U.K. department store (there, it’s called Colin the Caterpillar). It’s generally a lot bigger than this one, and a popular cake for kids’ birthdays. It’s got chocolate mousse with a chocolate shell, M&Ms, and a chocolate biscuit on the bottom. The chocolate shell has a nice snap, and then inside is a creamy, fluffy mousse. Chocolate Caterpillar Cake The chocolate cookie has a nice crunch and adds a lovely texture. Kids are going to love this Like in the actual U.K., we can imagine this will be VERY popular with the kiddos. But, honestly, we enjoyed it, too! Nosh or Not This Disney World restaurant is a must-visit if… You’re looking for traditional British fare while you’re at Disney World. This cozy little pub tucked into EPCOT’S United Kingdom pavilion offers a hearty, delicious menu of British favorites, including Shepherd’s Pie and Fish and Chips. And, of course, plenty of beer! You want World Showcase Lagoon views. Rose & Crown offers both indoor and outdoor seating, and the outdoor seating has excellent views of World Showcase Lagoon. You can also purchase a Fireworks Dining Package for this location with dedicated views of Luminous. You want familiar eats in a pub-like setting. While there are plenty of unique options around EPCOT, there’s something to be said for dining somewhere that might be a bit more familiar to you while you’re on vacation. You should skip this Disney World spot if… You’re looking for a wide variety of choices on the menu. While the food at Rose & Crown is delightful, there aren’t many options available. If you want more variety, consider booking a reservation somewhere like Garden Grill or Biergarten. You want to dine somewhere more unique. Chances are, you want to try something different while you’re on vacation. Rose & Crown offers more favorites that you might be familiar with, so if you want something more unique, consider Shiki-Sai: Sushi Izakaya or Space 220. You’re looking for a quick and light bite to eat. The dishes here are hearty British fare, which means you might be feeling fuller than you’d like when walking around a theme park after your meal. If you’ve got a jam-packed day, or it’s immensely hot outside, that may not be what you’d prefer. Overall Rose & Crown Dining Room might have a small menu, but every dish we’ve tried here has always been solidly good. It’s also nice to be able to sit by the water and look out over EPCOT. The servers are very attentive and well-informed on the dishes, as well as their significance to the U.K. Dining here feels cozy, while the food feels hearty, and it almost feels like coming home after a long day at the park. WHAT is going on with the crowds in Disney’s theme parks?! Are they getting worse? Or are things slowing down, perhaps providing you with a glorious little window to visit without feeling like you’re being squished by hundreds of people around you? Well, we’ve got a bit of insight. Ronto Roasters On May 6th, 2026, Disney released its earnings report and held its earnings call for the second quarter of fiscal year 2026 (Q2 of FY 2026). Thanks to this report, we got a peek behind the curtain when it comes to the finances at Disney. AND it gave us an interesting look at attendance trends at Disney’s theme parks. For context, during the last earnings call (Q1 of FY 2026), attendance at the domestic parks was up 1% in the quarter, and per capita spending was up 4% in the domestic parks. Domestic parks brought in about $6.9 billion in revenue, and international parks account for about $1.7 billion. Galaxy’s Edge So just how did this go in Q2? Well, Disney revealed that for Q2 of FY 2026, attendance has actually gone down! So many people! Compared to the prior-year quarter, domestic park attendance has gone down 1%, while per capita spending at the domestic parks was up 5%. Disney believes that the current dip is due to reduced international travel and the “macroeconomic uncertainty consumers are facing today.” Despite the decrease in attendance, the report states that “current demand at our domestic parks and resorts is healthy.” And they expect attendance to remain positive year-over-year. Magic Kingdom means LOTS of walking Disney is working on a variety of projects for the theme parks that could bring in more crowds (and increase spending) in the coming years. At Disney World alone, we’re looking at a Villains land in Magic Kingdom, a Cars-themed space in Magic Kingdom, a Monsters, Inc. space in Hollywood Studios, Pueblo Esperanza in Animal Kingdom, a brand-new hotel, and much more. It’s that time again, friends. Disney has dropped some huge announcements you do NOT want to miss, and we’ve got all the details right here. Cinderella Castle On May 6th, 2026, Disney held its earnings call (and released its earnings report) for the second quarter of fiscal year 2026 (Q2 FY 26). Importantly, this is the first earnings call held under the leadership of Disney’s NEW CEO — Josh D’Amaro — since Bob Iger stepped down from his CEO position as of March 17th. While most of the quarter took place under Iger’s leadership, it’s still interesting to see D’Amaro taking over the reins. In this call, we got updates on Disney’s financial position as a whole, just how the theme parks are doing, what things are looking like financially when it comes to Disney’s movies, and MORE. So now, let’s dive into ALL the updates! 1. Overall Financial Position Let’s start with an overall view of the company’s finances. Through this earnings call and report, Disney revealed that in Q2, the company saw “stronger-than-expected” revenue growth, which outperformed prior guidance. Revenues increased 7% for the second quarter to $25.2 billion from $23.6 billion in Q2 fiscal year 2025. The Walt Disney Company Income before income taxes increased 9% to $3.4 billion from $3.1 billion in Q2 fiscal 2025, while total segment operating income increased 4% to $4.6 billion from $4.4 billion in Q2 fiscal 2025. Diluted earnings per share (EPS) decreased to $1.27 from $1.81 in Q2 fiscal 2025, and adjusted EPS increased to $1.57 from $1.45 in Q2 fiscal 2025. Those are some strong numbers! Now, let’s see just how each of the different divisions within the Company did this past quarter. 2. Disney+, Streaming & Entertainment Now, it’s on to the world of the movies, streaming, TV shows, Hulu, and all that fun. For Q2, Disney reported revenues of $11.7 billion, up 10% from the same time last year, along with an operating income of $1.3 billion, up 6%. AMC at Disney Springs During Q2, Disney released Pixar’s Hoppers in theaters. But there’s much more to come in the next few months. 2026 will also see the release of The Mandalorian & Grogu on May 22nd, Toy Story 5 on June 19th, the live-action Moana on July 10th, Hexed on November 25th, and and Avengers: Doomsday on December 18th. Disney Experiences — Theme Parks, Cruise Line & Merchandise Now, let’s tackle the Disney Experiences division. This is the division that covers Disney’s theme parks around the world, Disney Cruise Line, and Disney merchandise. During this past quarter, Disney was BUSY with the debut of the Disney Adventure cruise ship, the reopening of Frozen Ever After in EPCOT with some updates, and the opening of Disney Adventure World at Disneyland Paris Resort. Disney Adventure Cruise Ship For Q2 of FY 2026, Disney reported revenues of $9.5 billion, an increase of 7% over Q2 fiscal year 2025. Operating income came in at $2.6 billion, which was up 5% from the same time last year. Global guests (which aggregates domestic and international parks attendance along with passenger cruise days) grew 2% compared to the prior-year quarter. Attendance at the domestic parks declined 1% when compared to the prior-year quarter, which Disney partly attributes to “continued softness in international visitation.” Meet Mickey at Red Carpet Dreams The rest of 2026 is sure to be a busy one when it comes to this division. Disney has already reopened Big Thunder Mountain Railroad in Magic Kingdom with some updates. The new Soarin’ Across America is set to debut on May 26th. A new Bluey experience is coming to Animal Kingdom, Cool KIDS’ Summer is returning with all kinds of special offerings, the Muppet-retheme of Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster will debut soon, the Walt Disney Studios area in Hollywood Studios will open, a new mission will come to Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run, and MORE. During the last quarter, Disney announced a deal with the NFL in which the NFL will be a minority owner of ESPN. And it was revealed that the Savannah Bananas will have a 25-game exclusive package with ESPN and Disney+ for 2026. In terms of Q2, Disney reported that revenue was at $4.6 billion for the quarter, up 2% from the same time last year. Operating income was reported at $652 million, which was down 5%. ©Disney ESPN will certainly be busy in the coming months as they prepare for ESPN’s first Super Bowl production in 2027. Once you’ve visited Disney World a few times (or a lot of times), you start to develop a few personal “rules.” Some are all about strategy (because rope drop is basically a must for some), some revolve around food (we’re looking at you, DOLE Whip), and others are tied to Disney’s technology, like MagicBands making park days smoother and more convenient. MagicBand+ display in Magic Kingdom But here’s the thing: some of the most common MagicBand “rules” might actually be doing the opposite by costing you extra money and adding unnecessary hassle. As Disney World continues to update its technology, it’s worth rethinking how we use these wearable devices. Whether you’re planning your very first trip or you’re a seasoned park pro heading back for visit number fifteen, here are three MagicBand rules that Disney experts know are meant to be broken. Rule #1 to Break: “You Need a New MagicBand” One of the most unnecessary costs when planning a Disney trip is thinking you need to buy a brand-new MagicBand every single time you visit. In reality, your older MagicBands can still do the job just fine! Original MagicBands and MagicBand+ styles usually have batteries that last for several years — typically around 2 to 3 years based on our experience. Even once that battery runs out, the built-in RFID chip continues to handle basic features like park entry and Lightning Lane redemption. So yes, that older MagicBand in your drawer may still be ready for another park day. MagicBand+ If you’re set on adding a new one to your collection, there’s a smarter way to save. Be sure to check out Disney Character Warehouse outlet stores around Orlando, where you can often find MagicBands at a much lower price. As a reminder, Disney World resort guests no longer receive the discounted price when ordering a MagicBand+ as they did previously. MagicBand+ Rule #2 to Break: “Always Buy the Latest MagicBand+” When Disney introduced MagicBand+ in 2022, it felt like the must-have upgrade — more features, more interactivity, and supposedly even more magic. But for many guests who rushed to buy one, the big question quickly became: Is the “plus” really worth the extra price and effort? MagicBand+ The biggest downside? Battery life. Unlike traditional MagicBands, which can last for years without ever needing a charge, MagicBand+ requires regular charging. A fully charged battery usually lasts about 1 to 1.5 days, so you’ll likely need to plug it in every night at your hotel. Because apparently, vacation relaxation now includes fighting over outlet space in the resort room. MagicBand+ Solve the Outlet Problem With This! MultiCharger for MagicBand+ To solve the outlet space issue, we use this MultiCharger for MagicBand+ and MagicBands. Charge all your MagicBands using only one outlet in your hotel room while on a Disney trip. Outlets are scarce in all hotel rooms, so don’t get caught in a situation after a perfect day at Disney World, where you don’t have enough outlets in your Disney Resort Hotel Room to charge all your phones, tablets, and MagicBand+. Have this device ready. view ON AMAZON So what are you paying extra for? MagicBand+ lights up and vibrates during nighttime shows and unlocks interactive experiences like the Batuu Bounty Hunters game in Galaxy’s Edge. While those features sound fun, many Disney fans find them pretty minor and not exactly worth the higher price tag or the daily charging routine. Bounty Hunters You may want to stick with a standard MagicBand if you’d rather avoid charging one more device on vacation, have no interest in the Star Wars: Batuu Bounty Hunters game, prefer a less tech-heavy park experience, or you’re traveling with a larger family where those upgrade costs can add up fast. MagicBand+ Rule #3 to Break: “Everyone Needs a MagicBand” Disney (and from what you read online) might make you believe that MagicBands are essential to the Disney World experience. Those colorful wristbands have become almost as iconic as Mickey ears for many visitors. It may not feel like it, but we ARE halfway to Halloween, believe it or not! Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party is around the corner! Before we know it, Disney World will be covered in Halloween decorations, and it’ll be time to start heading into Magic Kingdom for Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party — one of the most anticipated events of the year! If you’re thinking of heading to the party this year, you’re likely gearing up to grab tickets when they go on sale for all guests on May 12th (they’re currently on sale for those with Disney World hotel reservations!). Before you hit checkout, however, these are the things we NEED you to know! Check Your Calendar (Then Check It AGAIN) We can’t tell you how many times we hear about guests who are so excited to book their tickets that they don’t check their calendars first. Once they’ve already checked out and are feeling great that they got their tickets for that date before they sold out, then they look at their calendar and realize they won’t be available and need to change their dates. At that point, you need to call Disney to request the switch, and there’s no guarantee it’ll even be allowed, and other dates may be sold out as well. Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party To avoid this, we recommend FULLY checking your calendar at least a few days in advance of when you plan to purchase your tickets. We don’t just mean a quick glance, either. We mean you sit down, look at every single day you plan to be gone to attend the event, think about your travel plans, and make sure it can work. As some dates can sell out fast, we also recommend having 2-3 backup plans in place for other dates, that way you don’t get stuck if the one you were looking at is already sold out! Really Research The Event Believe it or not, Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party isn’t for everyone! While you and I may feel like it’s one of the best ways to spend the Halloween season in the parks, for other people, it may not be their cup of tea. To make sure this won’t happen to you, we recommend reading through the whole page Disney has dedicated to the event on their website to really see if all the offerings are up your alley. Hocus Pocus Villain Spelltacular This event is home to lots of special entertainment, trick-or-treating all over the park, exclusive meet and greets, snacks you won’t be able to grab any other time, but still, it’s sometimes not a fit. We also recommend watching videos and reviews from previous years to get a feel — good news, though, we’ve been EVERY year for at LEAST the past decade, so we’re your one stop shop! Can You Stay Up Late? Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party officially takes place from 7 PM to 12 AM each night, but guests with a party ticket can enter Magic Kingdom as early as.4 PM. That means it’s going to be a LATE night, and it’s important to take into account if you can/want to stay up that late. Whether it’s because you yourself don’t prefer to be up that long, or you’re thinking that other members of your party (especially kiddos) won’t be able to, it may not be a good fit. Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party These tickets are NOT cheap, so, in our experience, to make the most of that price, you’re going to want to stay in the parks for as long as possible to really experience the whole event. Lots of party offerings happen later on in the night, and you can get in line for attractions right up until 12 AM, so while it’s not a full day, there is a LOT you can do to make your ticket worth it. But if you choose to leave the park at 10 PM? You may leave feeling like your ticket wasn’t worth it. Plan For The Next Day As we said, this is a LATE night, so we also recommend planning in advance to give yourself rest the next day. The day after the party will NOT be the time to rope drop and spend a park day open to close, or make an 8 AM dining reservation. Instead, we recommend factoring in a rest day, or at the very least, allowing yourself to sleep in and spend a chill morning at your hotel before heading into the parks later in the day. Jack Skellington and Sally at Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party Now, you may think it’s best to go, go, go, and make the absolute most of your vacation, which we understand! But, we speak from experience, you’ll end up exhausted and unable to actually enjoy the rest of your trip, and then you may feel like the whole TRIP wasn’t worth it, solely because you’re exhausted and not allowing yourself to rest. Watch Out For Those Uber Popular Dates This year, Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party runs from August 7th through October 31st, 2026, and there WILL be dates in there that are more expensive, and therefore more popular, than others. If you’re looking to AVOID those most popular dates, October as a whole will be the month to avoid, but especially as it gets later into the month. Additionally, Friday nights and weekends will be more popular than dates during the week. We’ve got some big news in Disney’s live-action film world! If you’ve been waiting for more Tangled news, don’t worry, there’s a new update waiting for you! ©Disney Previously, we’ve known about Kathryn Hahn joining the cast as Mother Gothel, Teagan Croft coming on board as Rapunzel herself, and Milo Manheim being cast to play Flynn Rider, but now there’s a NEW cast member that’s been announced. What role will he be playing? Well, none of us really know! The Hollywood Reporter has reported that Diego Luna, most known in the Disney world as starring as the titular character in the Star Wars series Andor which earned him Emmy, Golden Globe, and Critics Choice Awards nominations, will be joining the cast of the live-action Tangled. His character, however, is a role that was specifically created for the feature film, meaning that none of us will be familiar with the character from the original animated film. ©Disney Tangled will begin filming in Spain this June, which is just a few short weeks away. Michael Gracey will be directing the feature, which will have large musical numbers just like the original, but it’s unclear if Luna’s character will be expected to sing and dance. Kristin Burr via her company, Burr! When it comes to dining at Disney World, you’ve got a TON of options. That’s VERY true over in EPCOT, where you’ve got dozens of restaurants with unique cuisine from all around the world in World Showcase. That’s far from all the restaurants in the park, though, because you’ve also got the spots up at the front of the park. Time to eat at Garden Grill! We recently stopped by Garden Grill for breakfast to see if there’s really a big difference (other than the menu offerings and price) between dining here early in the day vs. for lunch and dinner. Is it worth it to save some money dining at this character meal for breakfast and potentially struggle to get a reservation, or are they about the same? Let’s find out! Atmosphere The Land pavilion, where this restaurant is housed, is all about connecting with nature and highlighting the beauty of the world all around us. Garden Grill is no different! It sits on the top floor of the pavilion (which is the floor you enter on), and there’s something extra special about this restaurant — it rotates! Garden Grill Don’t worry, it doesn’t spin fast at all. It’s just enough to where you’ll look up from eating and all of a sudden realize your surroundings are different. The back of the restaurant also overlooks Living with the Land, one of two rides in the pavilion that shows you how EPCOT grows food. Looking out over Living with the Land! There’s an inner ring and outer ring of the restaurant, and while you may get better views of the ride in the outer ring, you’ll still get a pretty good view if you’re in the inner ring. The characters will also come around and see you no matter where you’re sitting, which is also a very special part of this experience. You’ll get to say hello to Chip, Dale, Mickey, and Pluto, and see all of them dressed in their adorable farm outfits. Hi, Mickey! But enough about the restaurant — what’s on the menu here?! Menu This is a prix-fixe menu that’s served family style, meaning that you’ll get a plate (or multiple if you’ve got a lot of people in your group) of the different offerings on the menu, but you can ask for more of anything you’d like. Yes, they really mean that! If you want more of ONE item, you just ask, and they’ll make it happen. Our full platter! But how does it all taste? Let’s get into it! Drinks To drink, we picked up the Legacy Mimosa for $20.50, which is made with Uncle Nearest 1884 Small Batch Tennessee Whiskey, Grand Marnier Liqueur, Chateau Ste. Michelle Sparkling Wine, and Minute Maid Orange Juice. Legacy Mimosa This is a very well-balanced mimosa with a kick. The whiskey and Grand Marnier come together to add depth and more orange flavor without overwhelming you with that orange taste. You can still taste the sparkling wine, the whiskey, and the Grand Marnier, which makes for a more robust brunch cocktail. Eats The Chip & Dale Harvest Feast will cost you $49 for adults and $33 for kids 3-9, and comes with a loaf of Cinnamon Bread, fresh fruit (ours was watermelon), Mickey waffles, Backyard Grilled Steak, bacon, scrambled eggs, and skillet potatoes. Starting off with the Cinnamon Bread, this doesn’t look very gooey on the outside, but the inside hides layers of cinnamon that are so ooey-gooey and delicious. It’s almost like monkey bread in the middle, so tearing it apart is the best way to eat it, in our opinion. It wasn’t dry in the slightest and was a fantastic way to start off the meal. Cinnamon Bread We also got a plate of Watermelon along with the Cinnamon Loaf to start the meal, and this was so incredibly juicy and fresh, it tasted like it had just been cut that morning! It was so refreshing, especially on a summer day. The fruit can change, depending on the season, but if you get watermelon, rest assured, we don’t think you’ll be disappointed. Watermelon Then it was time for the actual skillet itself. The steak was the star of the show here, as it was so tender and perfectly cooked to a medium rare. Every bite was incredibly well seasoned and absolutely delicious, and it went so well with the scrambled eggs and the creamy skillet potatoes. The steak was the star! The potatoes are perfectly cooked and seasoned in a hash brown style with lots of creaminess baked in. We preferred to mix them in with the scrambled eggs, as those were pretty plain, so it added a bit more flavor to them. Skillet Potatoes The bacon is perfectly crunchy, not too soft or undercooked, but if you’re a fan of floppier bacon, this may not be the best fit for you. It also went well with the scrambled eggs, if you want a bit more flavor for them, but don’t want to combine them with the potatoes. Bacon We can’t forget about the Mickey Waffles, of course! They’re classic for a reason, and we think it’s a great way to finish off this savory platter with a little something sweet. And if you want more than two waffles, you can ask for them! Mickey Waffles! But is all this, plus the character dining experience, worth the cost? Nosh or Not This Disney World restaurant is a must-visit if… You’re looking for a fun meal with classic characters. Chip ‘n’ Dale’s Harvest Feast at Garden Grill Restaurant is hosted by the friendliest chipmunks around… and they’re joined by none other than Mickey Mouse and Pluto! These four characters provide ample entertainment that kids (and many adults) will likely love. You’re REALLY hungry and want a hearty meal to keep you full. Garden Grill serves up an all-you-care-to-enjoy Harvest Feast — and a feast it certainly is. The food is served tableside in skillets here, and it’s an all-you-can-eat feast with your family for Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner. You want a unique dining experience at a rotating restaurant. Since the earliest days of EPCOT, this restaurant has had many different styles, but has always been Disney World’s only rotating restaurant! Talk about something you can’t experience anywhere else on property. You should skip this Disney World spot if… You want a quick meal that won’t break the bank. While Garden Grill isn’t the most expensive prix fixe meal at Disney World, it doesn’t come cheap, especially for lunch and dinner. You’ll also be greeted by multiple characters throughout your meal, which can add some time to your reservation. If you’re looking for something quick in a similar atmosphere, try Sunshine Seasons, which is right downstairs! You’re not a fan of character meals. While we do enjoy the food here — it’s classic American fare that leans Southern — the main draws are the characters and the rotating restaurant. If you’re not after those vibes, consider finding somewhere else to eat. If you’re after some REALLY good and unique eats, check out Spice Road Table or Le Cellier. You’re looking for more unique eats. The menu here is probably similar to something you can find back at home, and with so many unique restaurants at EPCOT and Disney World, you might want to opt for something a little different than you’re used to. Overall This restaurant remains a very strong choice in EPCOT, especially for a hearty breakfast that’s fun, will appease a lot of people’s palettes, and is pretty centrally located in the park. If you know there’s something on the plate you/your family won’t eat a lot of, you can also let your server know ahead of time, and they’ll accommodate! And if you’re concerned about wasting food, there’s no need to stress — all food leftover is composted, so nothing goes to waste. Hi Chip! Disney World wouldn’t be able to run without the hard work of all the amazing Cast Members! ©North Carolina Zoo They truly are the reason behind the magic, and one of the most beloved Cast Members is officially leaving the company. It was just announced that Dr. Mark is ending his long career with Disney. Dr. Mark Penning has worked at Disney World for 14 years as the Vice President of Animals, Science, and Environment for Disney Experiences. In this role, he worked directly with Animal Kingdom, Animal Kingdom Lodge, and The Seas with Nemo and Friends. He has also earned Cast Member fame through his fun behind-the-scenes content on Instagram! @drmarkatdisney on Instagram He has over 80,000 followers and often posts about fun animal updates and when the new babies are born! However, after a long time at Disney, he is officially stepping down to start a new role as the Director of the North Carolina Zoo. ©Dr. Mark via Twitter (@drmarkatdisney) He will be taking on this role over this summer and has released a statement saying, “I am very excited to be moving to the beautiful state of North Carolina and joining the fabulous team at the North Carolina Zoo,” Penning said. “I have long admired the zoo with its stunningly picturesque setting, modern animal habitats, engaging experiences for visitors, and talented team of zoo professionals. They have created a world-class destination where families can connect with nature and with each other and experience the joy and wonder of being outdoors. Memorial Day is right around the corner (yes, somehow it’s May and Memorial Day Weekend is just a few weeks away — where has the time gone?), and that means crowds could be about to ramp up in Disney World again. Guest Relations Cast Member at Disney Springs This is especially true since the holiday also falls right around the time when some kids get out of school for the summer, and many families begin their holiday with a Disney trip. With all that in mind, knowing things may be more crowded for that weekend, we just want to make sure we’re all prepared — it’s POSSIBLE, but not guaranteed, that Disney could bring back their new unpopular bus rule in Disney Springs. In case you missed it, back near Easter, when spring break crowds coincided with the holiday crowds, Disney implemented a new rule for their buses leaving from Disney Springs. With this new rule, guests could only take the buses to hotels from Disney Springs if they have a hotel or dining reservation. It only stuck around for about a week, and then when crowds died down after Easter, the rule went away. Cast Members checking MagicBands However, a Cast Member did tell us at the time that it was possible the rule could come back during other busy times of year, and in our eyes, Memorial Day weekend crowds mashed with summer crowds? Yep, that might be grounds to bring it back, which means we could see this go into effect around Saturday, May 23rd, to Monday, May 25th. To enforce the rule, Disney had Cast Members stationed ahead of stanchions at each section of bus stops, checking MagicBands and the My Disney Experience App for guests’ reservations. This essentially cut out all chance of resort hopping, which we know is a bummer for many people, especially if they’re enjoying a day outside of the parks, but still on Disney property. Blockades put up If this is the case and the rule does go back into effect, there are a few ways we recommend working around it while you’re on vacation. It may take a little more time than usual, but in the long run, it may be better than spending money on a rideshare to get where you need to go. Our top recommendations are: Head to the parks first (even if you don’t walk inside), and then take a bus from there to any of the hotels Get yourself to the TTC (Ticket and Transportation Center), where you can then enjoy the hotels on the Monorail loop, or take the EPCOT Monorail to get access to the Skyliner resorts Disney Skyliner We’ll keep an eye out and be sure to let you know if we see this rule come back into play, so stay tuned to DFB! 5 Checked Bag Rules Airports Are Enforcing in 2026 Join the DFB Newsletter to get all the breaking news right in your inbox!
