If you’ve ever stepped within the gates of Disneyland park, you’ve surely caught sight of the magic makers who keep the sidewalks clean, the pretzels stocked, and the ride vehicles moving down the tracks. But when the sun sets, the streetlamps shine bright, and the last guest leaves for the night, an unsuspecting team of cast members begins to suit up — oxygen masks, wetsuits and all for a night of making magic beneath the bubbles. Let us introduce you to the Finding Nemo Submarine Voyage diving team, a mighty group of divers who keep the lagoon waters safe for submarine voyagers, Nemo and friends alike. These talented, aquatic-loving cast members share a passion for maintaining the mechanical systems that sit leagues beneath the surface, ensuring the ride remains safe and reliable for guests to enjoy. Learning to Dive into the Magic “I was a machinist at Matterhorn for two and a half years. Then someone came through one day and asked if anybody wanted to learn how to dive,” shares longtime Disneyland diver and Walt Disney Legacy Award recipient Ken Posey, recalling his early days at the resort. “I said, ‘I’ll do it,’ and soon after I started scuba training before moving to work at Finding Nemo Submarine Voyage.” Although he began his Disney days on dry land, Ken quickly fell in love with the unique opportunity to put his passion for solving mechanical puzzles to the test in an underwater world many people never see the depths of. “People don’t realize there are even divers at Disneyland,” Ken says. Years later, the extensive diving skills he learned on the job inspired him to explore some of the world’s most unexpected places, including Australia’s Great Barrier Reef. Ken meets an unexpected friend while diving in the Great Barrier Reef in Australia. All in a Night’s Dive At minimum, two members of the diving team swim through the lagoon waters every night, surveying the attraction for anything that might look out of place. Depending on the night, the team may replace a light fixture, install a new show element, or support a multifaceted ride refurbishment, all while navigating the buoyant environment. “We’re trying to keep whatever the engineers design operating properly,” explains beloved Disneyland diving team member Dave Fisher. “If the attraction is deviating from that, whether it’s a safety precaution or a show element, we’re going to find a way to fix it.” Dave (left) and Ken (right) have been diving together at Disneyland Resort for over a decade. Decades Beneath the Lagoon For Dave, diving at the Disneyland Resort is a privilege that continues to baffle him, even 25 years into his Disney journey. “I get paid to dive,” he says with a wide smile. His passion for underwater exploration began as a hobby in the 1980s, when a friend encouraged him to take a class for fun. Ever since discovering the Disneyland diving team, Dave has been hooked on the feeling of bringing smiles to guests’ faces using a skill he wholeheartedly loves. “We want anyone who comes here, even a 2-year-old who spots Nemo, to be happy,” Dave says. “We want to make the ride safe and give guests the best experience we can.” The next time you climb down the yellow research submarine operated by the Nautical Exploration and Marine Observation Institute (N.E.M.O.), don’t forget the skilled team of cast members who use their fins every night to ensure your vessel remains safe, and that the story swims on. Hey, strawberry lovers! We have a super unique experience you do not want to miss. Jaleo Jaleo in Disney Springs is partnering with Southern Hills Farm for a limited time Strawberry Festival menu until April 3rd. They have a special menu dedicated just to strawberries, all picked locally from Southern Hills Farm. This is such a unique dining experience with some of the BEST food. First, we had the Strawberry Angel for $22. It is made with Smooth Angel’s Envy bourbon with bright lemon, sparkling ginger beet, and a touch of simple syrup with aromatic bitters. Strawberry Angel This had a pretty strong taste with a satisfying burn at the end. As the burn subsided, you could taste the flavors, with the simple syrup being the most prominent. The strawberry wasn’t super strong, but the lemon came through. The whole drink wasn’t too bitter and had a nice sour finish. Then we tried the Texturas de Fresas, which is a selection of strawberry spheres and cones for $16. We were served two: a cone and a sphere. The sphere was like a giant popping pearl! Our server told us to place the spoon in our mouths and slide it out while leaving the sphere on our tongues. Then you can burst it! It was super fun and unique and had a similar taste to a popping pearl, where there’s a burst of flavor with some sweet and sour. It was delicate and delicious. Texturas de Fresas The cone had a satisfying crunch, like an ice cream cone, and was a savory-sweet play with sweet cream cheese and strawberry jam baked together. It was one of our favorites of the night! Texturas de Fresas After that, we had the Gazpacho de fresas, a cold soup with strawberries, tomatoes, cucumber, and green bell pepper, for $11. Gazpacho de fresas This had a super strong strawberry flavor, but there weren’t many other notes. It was closer to room temperature than cold and was our least favorite of the night, but if you just want to be overwhelmed by strawberry, this might be your favorite. We also tried the Ensalada de fresas, tomate, aguacate y queso de cabra for $14. This is a salad of strawberries, tomatoes, avocado, goat cheese, and sherry dressing. Ensalada de fresas, tomate, aguacate y queso de cabra Now this, on the other hand, was packed with an exciting range of flavors. Everything worked together really well, but each had its own individual moments to shine. It was a lovely combination of sweetness from the strawberries and tomatoes, offset by the saltiness of the goat cheese and dressing. It was a confident dish that might sound a little strange, but is a total hit. We loved trying the Pinochos de fresas, sandia y tomate for $10 with strawberry, watermelon, and tomato skewers with sherry dressing. Pinochos de fresas, sandia y tomate We think this was another confident dish with contrasting flavors that worked together, too. We liked to eat it in one bite, where the flavors really got to work together. The strawberries and tomatoes were sweet and placed right in the middle of the spear of salty ham with those spiced Tajin-coated watermelon pieces… it was so good. They all compressed together as you slide it off the spear, and another one of our favorites. Then we had the Hamachi crudo con fresas for $17, which is yellowtail crudo with strawberry consommé, pickled white strawberries, white soy, and sesame. Hamachi crudo con fresas We thought this was on the plainer side. The strawberry consommé was sweet but didn’t have an overwhelmingly strong flavor, and we couldn’t really taste the white strawberries or the difference between the white soy and sesame. There were a lot of fish, but we’re not sure about the price. Our final savory bite was the Coca de queso idiazabel y mermelada de fresas for $12, an olive oil and rosemary cracker topped with strawberry marmalade and grated idiazabal cheese. Coca de queso idiazabel y mermelada de fresas Now this was a really unique dish! It weirdly reminded us of pizza where the cheese was shaved on top, so it basically melted in your mouth. The texture of the cheese was very unique, and overall, it was sweet, with some people at our table saying they would want it for dessert. The cracker had a nice crunch and had a great punch of flavors. Finally, we ended with the Fresas con nata for $10, a traditional Spanish dessert of strawberries and cream. Fresas con nata This was probably one of the simplest but most effective dishes we had. It was “simply” strawberries and cream, but more traditional to a Spanish dessert. The strawberries were peeled, which provided a nice and smooth texture. On top of the cream were pieces of salt and olive oil, and we loved how the saltiness balanced the sweetness of the strawberries. The orange liquieri complented the strawberry flavor, and we would totally get this again. Wow! That was a fantastic meal, and if you want to try it, make sure you catch it before April 3rd. We have shocking snack news — that may point to even bigger changes coming to Disney World. That’s some thick bacon! One of our favorite snacks at Magic Kingdom has MOVED to a new location. In the past, Westward Ho was where you’d want to stop to get a big ol’ skewer of candied bacon, but that snack has officially been moved over to Golden Oak Outpost — and we think we might know why. For a while now, rumors have been swirling that Westward Ho and Big Al’s would be closing as part of the upcoming Piston Peak expansion at Magic Kingdom. While Disney hasn’t announced anything officially, both locations have been removed from the park map on the My Disney Experience app. In addition, a Cast Member at Big Al’s told us that while they weren’t sure of a closure date yet, they do know that it will happen at some point in the future. Westward Ho A Cast Member at Westward Ho confirmed much of the same — while there’s no date set officially, they can feel that the countdown has begun. Recently, they heard that the list of locations for trainers was updated, and Westward Ho was no longer on the list. The Cast Member we spoke to did tell us that she heard a rumor they could be moved to Liberty Square, but there’s no confirmation of that at this time. Big Al’s So, when we saw that the Golden Oak Outpost menu had been updated to feature the candied bacon skewer, it made plenty of sense to us. Golden Oak Outpost We’ll be sad to see these spots go, that’s for sure, but we hope similar Piston Peak-themed spots will take their place when the land opens. We’d hate to be down a merchandise location AND a dining spot for good. It also has us a little concerned about other spots in the land — we hope they won’t close for good, but it’s possible they may need to close periodically to be rethemed to Piston Peak, or just repainted to fit in more with the new land. ©Disney While Frontierland isn’t being replaced by Piston Peak, it will shrink a little bit to make way for the changes. Piston Peak is a new Cars-themed land coming to Magic Kingdom that will include two new attractions — a rally race-themed ride, as well as a family-friendly ride for smaller racers. The area is themed around National Parks, which will hopefully help it blend in with the nearby Big Thunder Mountain Railroad (also under a lengthy refurbishment) and Tiana’s Bayou Adventure. ©Disney We’ll be on the lookout for even more snack changes in Magic Kingdom and beyond. In the meantime, make sure you stay tuned to the Disney Food Blog for the latest news and more. I’ve been going to Disney World for decades, and now I’m a Disney mom making magic for my two kids. Magic Kingdom Let me tell you, I’ve learned a few things since stepping into this new role. If there’s one thing to know about me, it’s this: I will absolutely pay for convenience if it makes my vacation easier. Disney trips are meant to be magical, not exhausting, and anything that helps keep my family happy and meltdown-free is worth it in my book. Which is why I will never skip buying Lightning Lanes. Here’s the reality: taking young kids to Disney World can be a lot. You’re managing emotions, hunger, hydration, overstimulation, and expectations all at once. It’s basically a full-time job… although the perk is doing it while eating a Mickey bar. So when something like Lightning Lane exists to make the day smoother, I’m all in. Kilimanjaro Safaris Lightning Lane For those who might not be as familiar, Lightning Lane is Disney’s paid system that allows you to skip the regular standby lines for select attractions. Instead of waiting 45 minutes, an hour, or sometimes longer, you can reserve a return time and enter through a much shorter line. And as a mom with two kids under the age of four, that is everything. Even a 20-minute wait can feel like an eternity with little ones. Kids get bored quickly. They’re tired, they’re hot, they’re overstimulated, and suddenly that “short” line turns into a meltdown waiting to happen. Lightning Lane helps us avoid that spiral. It keeps the day moving, keeps the energy up, and honestly, keeps everyone happier. Slinky Dog Dash Lightning Lane It also gives me a sense of control in what can otherwise feel like a chaotic day. I can plan around our Lightning Lane return times, build in snack breaks, and make sure we’re not spending the majority of our trip just standing in lines. That alone makes it worth it for me. Now, I won’t pretend there aren’t downsides, because there absolutely are. The biggest one? Kids don’t care about your carefully planned schedule. Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway Lightning Lane You might have the perfect Lightning Lane time booked, but when that window rolls around, your toddler might need a nap. Or it’s suddenly lunchtime. Or they’re just done. Completely overwhelmed. Not in the mood. Not interested in riding anything. And when that happens, it can feel frustrating to “waste” something you paid for. That’s why I’ve had to learn balance. As much as I love the convenience of Lightning Lane, I also try to set realistic expectations for our days in the parks. I usually go in with a short list, maybe three must-do attractions, and anything beyond that is a bonus. Flexibility is key when you’re traveling with little kids, and no amount of planning can override their needs in the moment. Lightning Lane There’s also no denying that Lightning Lane can get expensive, especially for a family. It adds up quickly. But for us, it’s a priority, so we budget for it ahead of time. I’d rather allocate money toward making our days easier and more enjoyable than risk spending a big portion of our trip dealing with long lines and cranky kids. Haunted Mansion Lightning Lane At the end of the day, Lightning Lane isn’t about doing more; instead, it’s about enjoying what we do get to experience. It helps us stay present, avoid unnecessary stress, and actually soak in the magic with our kids instead of constantly managing the next meltdown. So no, you probably won’t catch me skipping Lightning Lane anytime soon. For this Disney mom, the convenience, flexibility, and sanity it brings are well worth the cost, even if it doesn’t always go perfectly. If you’re planning your own Disney trip, be sure to follow us at Disney Food Blog for more tips and tricks to help you make the most of your time in the parks. For the first time in forever…uh, we can’t find Anna and Elsa? Anna and Elsa in Festival of Fantasy If you have a total Frozen lover in your life (or, uh, you’re the Frozen lover) and you’re heading to Disneyland soon, you might struggle to find the two sisters. Starting on April 27th, there are no showtimes available for Anna & Elsa’s Royal Welcome, which is where they meet in Disney California Adventure. The calendar goes out until May 3rd, but currently does not show any meeting dates after April 27th. Disney California Adventure While Disney hasn’t released the dates for an official refurbishment, we can usually find information on the Disneyland website where they update the calendar without a formal announcement. Other attractions that will be closed around April 27th include: Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters Disneyland Monorail Jungle Cruise Roger Rabbit’s Car Toon Spin Silly Symphony Swings Toy Story Midway Mania! Toy Story Midway Mania While Anna and Elsa might not be available, there are two other sisters you can see — Bluey and Bingo! “Bluey’s Best Day Ever” has started in the Fantasyland Theatre, and this show invites you into the world of Bluey. There are fun games, characters, and plenty of dancing. Bluey! Don’t forget to check out the special Bluey-themed food, too, at Troubadour Tavern. Our favorite is the Pizza Girls Baked Potato, which has pepperoni, sausage, bacon bits, marinara, mozzarella, alfredo sauce, and a parmesan herb topper. Since the snack has been available, we have had three in two days, so that really tells you how much we love it. Here at Disney Food Blog, we’re Disney experts who have been to every Disney park, cruise, and event, which means that we travel. A lot! Southwest Airlines This month, we’ve spent about three or four full days just on various airplanes. We won’t lie to you, flying can be rough. But this $20 gadget has made our long-haul flights 10x easier! DISCLOSURE: This post may contain affiliate links, meaning when you click the links and make a purchase, we receive a commission. This travel neck pillow saved our flight! This travel pillow is so convenient – it’s a neck pillow and eye mask in one. The eye mask is one of the best we’ve tried; it blocks out so much light. We struggle to sleep on planes because of how bright they can be, so this was a game-changer! And the pillow is the best part. ©Amazon The pillow attaches easily to your airplane headrest and stays on for our whole long-haul flight. This was also so secure, both to our seats and around our heads. It offers 360º support, which connects to the seat and wraps the pillow around your head. This kept our necks straight and avoided the stiffness we’d usually get while sleeping on airplanes. It even rolls up and comes with a handy dandy carrying case, which is so convenient since we travel often for work! ©Amazon We’d recommend this travel pillow to anyone who wants to sleep on their next flight. Seriously, we slept in this just as well as we do in our own bed! And the best part? It’s on sale right now for less than $20! It’s such a steal considering how much better this makes our flights. view ON AMAZON We’re always on the hunt for the latest and greatest Disney souvenirs and essentials, so don’t forget to stay tuned to the Disney Food Blog for more! I have a favorite restaurant in Disneyland, and you might not have ever heard of it, but it’s likely you’ve seen it on one of Disneyland’s most iconic rides. Pirates of the Caribbean The Blue Bayou Restaurant is attached to Pirates of the Caribbean, and Disney is temporarily closing both for a refurbishment. The Blue Bayou Restaurant in Disneyland will be closing on May 4th and is tentatively scheduled to reopen in late May. Alongside this closure, Pirates of the Caribbean will also be closing for a refurbishment. While Pirates of the Caribbean is listed as a ride that will be closed for refurbishment starting on May 4th, we don’t see any current reopening dates. Blue Bayou If you didn’t know, Blue Bayou is part of the Pirates of the Caribbean ride! While you’re on your boat, if you look over to the right after you board the boat and are floating through the bayou, you can see the restaurant. Bluey has hit Disneyland and with it, massive, MASSIVE, crowds. Bingo and Bluey A brand new Bluey experience debuted at Disneyland, and apparently, we aren’t the only fans of the Heeler family, because the crowds were unlike anything we’ve seen before. “Bluey’s Best Day Ever!” is a super fun show in the Fantasyland Theatre, and not only are Bluey and Bingo here to play, but there are also tons of dancers, interactive games, and it’s every kid’s (cough, cough, and adults) favorite show brought to life. It was packed! There are currently shows at 9:30 AM, 10:50 AM, 12:10 PM, 1:50 PM, and 3:10 PM. When we were there on opening day, and y’all, it was wild. It felt very unorganized because we didn’t think anyone expected these crowds. They cut the line after the second show to make sure they could fit everyone in the theater. Some people who were lined up since the first show started were able to watch it during the last show, and they were lined up all the way to the castle. Make sure you get there early We also learned that there are two different shows to watch. One is a storytime, and the other was a game show, and while it will normally alternate back and forth, we think that due to technical difficulties, they played a bit out of order. There also wasn’t much of a dance party atmosphere, but we think it was because it was so busy that there wasn’t much room to dance. We’re hoping once the shows have been out for a little bit, the crowds die down, and there’s room to dance. The dancers are also supposed to come out and play games with everyone after the shows, which also didn’t happen, but we’ll be keeping our eye out to see when everything settles down. Not much room for dancing You can find exclusive Bluey snacks at Troubadour Tavern, and we also saw massive lines here. They have a Bluey sipper and a popcorn bucket, which we expect to sell out fast. Bluey is in Disneyland! If you’re someone who needs to see the Bluey show and grab the snacks, you’ll want to make sure you get to Disneyland early. From parking to security to everything in between, Bluey has brought a crowd, so you’ll want to make sure you’re in line early for your best chance of getting into the show and securing your snacks and popcorn bucket. The Universal Orlando Resort had a HUGE 2025, with the openings of the Epic Universe theme park and its three hotels: Stella Nova, Terra Luna, and the Helios Grand. One might think that, between those additions and Universal opening a new kids-oriented resort in Texas and a new major attraction in Hollywood in 2026, the Florida resort might be taking a back seat this year. They’d be wrong. Universal Orlando Less than a year after Epic Universe’s opening, the Orlando Resort is already staging an encore, with a massive project at Universal Studios Florida, construction at Islands of Adventure, and even something NEW coming to Epic! Let’s begin at the resort’s original theme park, Universal Studios Florida, where a massive project is underway at the front of the park. The summer of 2025 saw the closure and quick demolition of the Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit roller coaster, with construction on a replacement beginning soon after. For months, speculation spread like wildfire about the ride’s theme, with everything from Ghostbusters to the long-awaited return of Back to the Future being rumored. However, in January of 2020, Universal confirmed that the coaster would be a clone of Fast and the Furious Hollywood Drift, which is scheduled to open at Universal Hollywood later this year. ©Universal The attraction, which promises to “put guests in the driver’s seat of the high-speed thrills of Universal Pictures’ Fast & Furious universe like never before”, will feature 360-degree drifting and a 170-foot vertical spike that will shoot guests nearly 17 stories in the air. It is scheduled to open in 2027. The opening of the ride will also lead to the closure of Fast & The Furious: Supercharged, which has set off a new set of rumors about what will be replacing that attraction. @bioreconstruct via X Next door at Islands of Adventure, changes are coming to one of the park’s remaining opening day areas. Back in September, Universal Director of Public Relations Kristen Smith said in an emailed statement to the Orlando Business Journal that, “In the coming months, there will be construction activity in Lost Continent as part of site planning to ensure the area is ready for any future developments.” Several months later, in December, Universal filed a construction permit for work in the area using “special equipment.” The permit lists Intamin Ltd. — the company behind Hagrid’s Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure and the Jurassic World Velocicoaster, among many other well-known rides — which definitely makes it sound like the project could be a major one. ©Universal While Universal has yet to confirm what, if any, major addition or retheme is coming to the Lost Continent, rumors abound that it may be one of several intellectual properties, including Nintendo’s Legend of Zelda franchise, Pokémon, or even Wicked. ©Pokémon Finally, there’s Epic Universe. Expansion has been on the table for the park since the beginning, with expansion pads scattered through the park. Over its first year of operation, several construction permits and trademark filings have hinted at new additions coming quickly. These include: In November of 2025, Universal filed a construction permit for a 150,000 square foot building, which is larger than a typical backstage warehouse. The permit specified site utilities and foundation work, which suggests this isn’t just infrastructure. While Universal hasn’t confirmed what this building will be, the sheer size alone has people speculating that it could be tied to a future expansion, perhaps between Super Nintendo World and Dark Universe, or near the Wizarding World. Speaking of Potter… In early 2026, theme park photographer extraordinaire Bioreconstruct shared images of a new construction fence and building materials on-site in Celestial Park. Their location suggests potential work – either to the Wizarding World or of Celestial Park itself – in either the expansion pad behind Stardust Racers or the one next to the Ministry of Magic portal. A further construction permit was filed for work at the front of the park near Super Nintendo World. This smaller footprint of the building described in this permit – about 40,000 square feet – suggests it’s not for an attraction, but rather for additional retail or dining. In December of 2025, Universal filed a trademark for “Universal Celestial Goodnight,” complete with a logo that features stars and a crescent moon. Given the name and logo, many have speculated that the title may be in relation to a nighttime show coming to Celestial Park. Currently, Epic Universe does offer a rather low-key nighttime fountain show, but early concept art for the park actually showed fireworks. ©Universal Despite opening Epic Universe just last year, Universal is not resting on its laurels, as physical construction, construction permits, and trademark filings indicate major things coming to all three of the Orlando Resort’s theme parks. Stay tuned to DFB for more on the resort’s evolution. Uh, hey Disney? Have you been meaning to update us on something? Art of Animation We stay up to date on everything happening at Disney World, and one way we do that is by checking permits filed by Disney. Well, we just found a bunch of permits all dedicated to one of our favorite, larger than life resorts: Disney’s Art of Animation Resort! While Disney hasn’t listed any renovations or closures on their website, which is where they post a majority of the upcoming changes so you can prepare before booking your Disney World trip, these permits have us thinking something is brewing. Disney has filed six permits for “mechanical work,” and while this isn’t a super exciting permit, it sounds like something is being worked on behind the scenes. Art of Animation ‘Cars’ section Currently on the website, there aren’t any construction projects related to this listed, which means guests staying at the resort may not see or hear construction (and if there is something, it’s rarely during the night), so we’re thinking it is work in backstage areas. So should these permits stop you from booking a trip to the Art of Animation? No, that’s probably not necessary, but it’s something to keep an eye out for since everything can change at Disney fast. Disney’s Art of Animation Resort Now, there is a pretty big refurbishment that will affect your stay at Art of Animation. One of the great things about the resort is access to the Skyliner, but from January 24th, 2027, to January 30th, 2027, the Skyliner will be closed for a refurbishment. While it may seem like a one week refurbishment won’t be that major, if you’re staying at the resort during that week, you’ll need other transportation plans. Skyliner Station at Disney Pop Century Resort and Disney’s Art of Animation Resort There will be a complimentary bus service instead of the Skyliner routes, but keep in mind that these will likely be busy since there are other resorts that won’t have access to the Skyliner. You might want to look at driving yourself, taking a rideshare, or a Minnie Van. Bus Transportation at Art of Animation Resort We’re going to be keeping an eye on these changes because this could mean something big is in the works. We’re getting closer to the official opening of the NEW version of Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin in Magic Kingdom — we’ve only got until April 8th to go! Let’s ride Buzz Lightyear! Cast Member previews are currently happening, so while people have been on the ride, pictures and videos of the inside have been officially cleared to share online. Guests alike have been seeing all the details inside and seeing if the ride being closed for months has been worth it. Much to our surprise, we think we might have found something that most Disney fans agree with. We love to ask our readers what they think of the changes and get the opinion of true Disney Adults, and honestly, we’re struggling to find negative comments. Usually, there are plenty of comments questioning the changes, asking for more, and overall not being convinced the money was spent in the right place, but for Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin, everyone might be agreeing — Disney did a good job with this. Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin Maybe we can all agree that the ride was in need of some major refurbishments, or you’ve tried the blasters in Disneyland, which have always been held, and thought, “yeah, Disney World needs this too.” Or maybe you’ve been begging for a fresh coat of paint for years and more new targets. It also probably doesn’t hurt that you can finally see where you’re pointing, too, with each blaster in the vehicle having a different color. Buzz Lightyear Space Ranger Spin is BACK! It could also be that Disney took a ride that’s known to be popular and a huge part of so many people’s childhood, and didn’t really change it! Yes, there are new blasters, targets, and even a brand-new character named Buddy, but at heart, the ride looks the same. Most scenes are the same, it’s still almost entirely in blacklight, and you can still earn Galactic Hero (and beyond!). Point and shoot! Disney fans are the first group of people to speak out about negative changes throughout the park, and we’ve seen this with massive changes, like Piston Peak, the Cars-themed land, which has taken over Tom Sawyer Island. Even though Tom Sawyer Island and the Rivers of America have been closed since July 2025, we still see comments on how people wish Disney wouldn’t change the area. Construction for Tom Sawyer Island This makes us very hopeful for the reopening of Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, which is expected this May. The Wildest Ride in the Wilderness has been closed for over a year and has gotten a completely new track, along with the addition of the Rainbow Caverns. Since the heart of the ride is staying the same, and I think we can all agree that the track was getting a little rough, maybe everyone will be glad to see this classic ride return without much negative commentary. ©Disney Make sure you tell us what your thoughts of the attraction are in the comments, and make sure you keep following Disney Food Blog for more. It’s snack time in Disney World! Okay, you know us, and it’s ALWAYS snack time in Disney World. We’re never going to turn down the chance to eat a little something when we’re there. Edna Mode Petit Cake Well, one of our favorite snack spots in Disney Springs is Amorette’s Patisserie, and we’re especially fond of their little themed petit cakes because not only do they always look AMAZING, but they’re often pretty tasty, too. Well, a new petit cake just arrived at the patisserie, and we made sure we checked it out. Amorette’s Patisserie just dropped a new limited-time snack, the Edna Mode Petit Cake. Yes, Edna from The Incredibles has her own cake, and we are here for it! This cake is $24 and is made with Orange Curd, Blackberry Panna Cotta, and Vanilla Chiffon Cake. First, LOOK at these details. Our favorite part was the little chocolate glasses on top (although they were starting to melt in the sunshine!). In true Edna fashion, this cake is bold and dramatic, darling. The details! Okay, so we love how Amorette’s puts together all these flavors. The cake itself is dense, and the flavors are subtle. Instead of tasting each individual flavor, they sort of blend together for a fruity and acidic flavor that sets this apart from a regular vanilla cake. Layers of flavors The black fondant on the outside is very plain, and we thought it detracted from the cake, but fondant is kinda’ one of those things you either love or hate. We’ll be reviewing even more new food and drinks in Disney World, so stay tuned to DFB for more. For the first time in forever…we get to ride on a new ride! Let it gooooo! Disneyland Paris is opening World of Frozen on March 29th, and we’ve been able to preview the land to bring all the best details back to you so you can have the best visit ever. Frozen Ever After is one of the attractions coming to the land, and we know what you’re thinking — this isn’t new! Well, no, Frozen Ever After isn’t new, but each park does it just a little bit differently from the queue to the boats, so let’s take a peek as to what’s happening in Disneyland Paris. First, let’s take a look at the outside of the building. You enter the queue through a clock tower with Anna and Elsa figures up top! Look how pretty Elsa’s ice castle is to the left. Time to ride! All aboard! We get to climb into the boat to head into the world of Arendelle. Like other Frozen Ever After iterations, the queue takes you right into the city of Arendelle. We loved how pretty the loading area is! SO pretty! For the plot, this ride is very similar to other iterations of Frozen Ever After. You start by meeting Olaf and Sven. Time to skate! Then you’ll head to the trolls’ home… The trolls! …we sing with Anna and Kristoff… The best Disney couple, sorry! …and enter Elsa’s ice palace! We found Elsa! But where’s Samantha? Then we were flung by the Snowgies, but guys, this is the big difference – this drop is so much bigger than EPCOT’s Frozen Ever After. We got soaked! I want to adopt a Snowgie Then we met up with Anna, Elsa, and Olaf back in Arendelle! Back in Arendelle! Wow! That ride was so much fun, and we always love getting to see Anna, Elsa, and Olaf. You never know what sort of Disney news will drop at any given moment! ©Disney From iconic lands beginning to fade away to company executive change-ups and even multimonth closures, the amount of Disney news we cover each week is surprising! It can be a lot to keep up with, so we’re wrapping it all up by breaking down the three biggest news stories from this week. CEO Changes As of March 18th, 2026, Josh D’Amaro — formerly the Charmian of the Disney Experiences division of the Company — is Disney’s new CEO. The baton has been passed down from Bob Iger. Josh D’Amaro at Destination D23, 2023 ©Disney During the 2026 Disney Shareholder Meeting held on March 18th, 2026, Disney addressed the transition from Iger to D’Amaro. Iger came on and had nothing but kind words to say about D’Amaro as he takes over the role. Iger said, “I believe in Josh D’Amaro,” along with “I will be cheering on Josh, Dana, and all of you as I sail off into the sunset.” After a long career, Iger is heading home and is ready to retire. We’re excited to see what Josh will do as the new CEO! “I Believe in Josh D’Amaro” Bob Iger Steps Down as New Disney CEO Takes Over NEW Cruise Ship We also got a huge announcement out of Disney Cruise Line — there’s a NEW ship coming our way, and it’s called the Disney Believe! ©Disney This new ship will focus on “powerful tales of characters who believe in themselves and their dreams,” and include IP and details from Encanto, Frozen, Snow White, Moana, The Little Mermaid, and more. It’s expected to set sail in 2027, which means we only have one more year to wait! Disney Announces NEW Cruise Ship Movie Sequels For those who loved the Lilo & Stitch live-action film that released in 2025, we’ve got fantastic news — Disney just announced when the sequel film will be on its way! However, we do have quite a while to wait, as it won’t release until May 26th, 2028. We’ll be anxiously awaiting the day it releases, that’s for sure! ©Disney That’s not the only film we found out will be coming to theaters in 2028, though. Disney also revealed that Incredibles 3 is on the way! This new film will come out on June 26th, 2028, so just about a month after the new Lilo & Stitch film. We’ll be in the theaters a lot that summer, it seems, but we’re not complaining! ©Disney We’ll be on the lookout for even more Disney news you need to know about. It is an important time of year for Disney Cruise Line, and all you Disney Cruise Line lovers out there! For the longest time, we talked about DCL’s newest ship, the Disney Adventure, and awaited its maiden voyage on March 10th. We got to be on board for that first sailing, and are catching up on telling you all about it! It’s time to set sail! The Disney Adventure sets sail from Singapore and cruises through Southeast Asia on 3 and 4-night voyages. Before you can get on the ship, though, you’ve got to check in at the port, and in Singapore, things are different than in the United States. Now that we’ve had a chance to check it out, we have lots of pics and tips to share with you! Someone still needs to pinch us, because we can’t believe we’re in Singapore getting ready to check out the newest Disney Cruise ship. The Disney Adventure has a focus on heroes and villains with seven themed areas featuring Disney, Pixar, and Marvel stories. In fact, the godfather of the ship is Iron Man himself, Robert Downey Jr. We’re here! Before you even arrive at the Marina Bay Cruise Centre, you need to know that, depending on how you arrive for the cruise, that will change how you’re going to get your luggage tags. We encourage you to check on the website for official details, but they will not come to you in the mail before your trip. If you are doing ground transportation from the airport, you’ll get them at the airport, but otherwise, they will print them for you when you get to the cruise terminal and attach them to your bags. When we stepped out of the car, that’s the first thing that happened! We’re so ready It’s also important to note that you won’t be able to have anything hanging off your checked bags (the bags they’ll bring to your stateroom for you), and nothing can be on the outside. For us, that meant we had to take our water bottle (that was in an outside pocket) and our neck pillow (which was hanging off our bag) with us. We’ve never run into this issue sailing in the U.S. with DCL, so it seems to be a unique rule here. Luggage Drop It’s also extremely important that you have your Port Arrival Form downloaded onto your phone, or have it physically, and it has to be a version that says what time your arrival is. We noticed that the wifi and service were pretty slow for us, and we had trouble pulling it up. While we had it saved in our Apple Wallet, it didn’t say the essential time! We also noticed they weren’t scanning your paper at most of the checkpoints, until you get closer to the front, so if you don’t have it ready, then you’re REALLY close to boarding and might run into issues. Be sure you’ve got it downloaded! While we could connect to the ship’s wifi relatively quickly inside the port, the Navigator App wasn’t up and running yet, since the ship hadn’t set sail, which means we couldn’t pull up our Arrival Form on there, unless we disconnected from the wifi, which slowed things down pretty immensely. Again, just have it downloaded, and you’ll be okay! Be ready before you get in line! We were able to get in line at noon for a 1 PM arrival time, so we do recommend getting to the port about an hour early. We moved slowly through some spots, up until about 12:25 PM, when our line was allowed to start going through security. We were then through security and officially beginning to check in by 12:30 PM! Even though it says not to arrive before your scheduled time, it appears that you may be allowed through early. We’re finally at Disney’s newest park, Disney Adventure World! The newly reimagined Disneyland Paris gate has 14 brand-new restaurants in just one area of the park. Cafe Luminosity Adventure Way is the central hub of Disney Adventure World, inspired by iconic adventures across the Disney and Pixar universes. It features a Tangled ride along with some awesome new restaurants. Café Luminosity piqued our interest the most, because this restaurant is known for its hot dogs! Café Luminosity serves a signature hot dog with four variations: the Authentic Onions & Mustard, the Cheddartastic, the Cucumber, and the MagnifiCurry. The menu We only had time to pick one, so we went against our usual vibe (which would’ve had us choosing the Cheddartastic, because CHEESE) and went with the Cucumber made with Turkey sausage and a tomato-onion-coriander mixture. First things first: we were told this is the best spot in Adventure Way, but we’re going to disagree, but then again, we’re not sure what a French hot dog is supposed to taste like. The one we had came in a bun that was crunchy and stale. The Cucumber The hot dog was actually turkey, and like a lot of turkey, it was on the bland side. But it’s pretty much there to be a vessel for the toppings, right? The cucumbers were more floppy than crunchy, but they did have a slight sweetness that we liked. The tomato, onion, and coriander mixture was also bland, and you really only got a hint of flavor from the onion. Again, there was a hint of sweetness, but it wasn’t enough. Close-up Truthfully, we felt the hot dog had all the elements that could’ve made it good, but it somehow missed the mark for us. Disclosure: In nearly all circumstances, Disney Food Blog writers and photographers pay full price for their own travel, hotel, food, beverage, and event tickets. We do this because it’s important to us as journalists to ensure not only that we give you unbiased opinions, but also that you can trust us to do so since we’re paying our own way. On rare occasions, when we are invited by a company to attend a preview as media, and when we choose to accept that invitation, we will always make you, our readers, aware of that situation. Today, we were invited by Disneyland Paris to attend their media preview of Disney Adventure World. Note that when we attend events as media we are 1) Not required to review that event/food on any of our channels, and 2) Not required to review that event/food favorably. You can always count on DFB to give you a 100% unbiased and honest review of any event that we attend, food that we eat, or beverage that we drink. You can see more in our Disclosure Policy. Thank you for reading. — AJ View the full article
