The daily Flag Retreat ceremony at Disneyland Park’s Town Square on Main Street U.S.A carried special significance this week as the park recognized World War II veteran Charles Cram, who recently celebrated his 100th birthday. A Witness to History A Santa Monica native, Charles served as a Pharmacist’s Mate Second Class in the U.S. Navy during World War II. A decorated combat medic attached to the 5th Marine Division; he was among those who fought at Iwo Jima — one of the most pivotal battles of the Pacific. Charles’ time in the U.S. Navy at age 17. Courtesy of Charles Cram. On Feb. 19, 1945, Charles, then just 17 years old, landed on Iwo Jima along with his company of 250 Marines. After four days in Iwo Jima, Charles personally witnessed the raising of the American flag atop Mount Suribachi—a moment captured in one of the most iconic photographs of World War II and later memorialized at the Marine Corps War Memorial in Arlington, Virginia. Charles earned the Silver Star, Bronze Star, and Purple Heart for his bravery and combat injuries. U.S. Navy veteran Charles Cram witnessed the historic raising of the American Flag on Mount Suribachi during the Batlle of Iwo Jima on February 23, 1945. Photograph by Joe Rosenthal, Associated Press (Public Domain). “We would see the flag go up on Mount Suribachi because Suribachi apparently was 500-700 feet up in the air. There was an ex-volcano. We thought that was going to be the end of the war, but it wasn’t.” Charles stated. “I didn’t know what I was witnessing at that moment, but I was in the middle of history.” Honoring an American Hero at Disneyland Resort Disneyland cast members warmly welcomed Charles and his family where they enjoyed Sleeping Beauty Castle and a special viewing of The Celebrate Happy Cavalcade. Donald Duck, known for boosting morale among U.S. service members during World War II through animation, unit art, and patriotic storytelling, also greeted them. During an emotional moment in the Sleeping Beauty Castle Gardens, Charles was presented with a special gift; a shadow box with an American Flag that had been flown over the iconic theme park in appreciation for his valiant service to our nation. 100-year-old World War II veteran Charles Cram presented with a Flag flown over Disneyland in his honor by Disneyland Ambassadors Michele Mary and Oralia Felix. In the glow of the late afternoon sun on Main Street, U.S.A., people assembled around the Town Square flagpole to take part in a special ceremony celebrating Charles. Since Disneyland’s earliest days, the daily Flag Retreat in Town Square has been an enduring tradition. Security cast members have faithfully raised and lowered the American flag each day. The ceremony features moving musical performances from entertainment cast, including the Disneyland Band and Dapper Dans, adding emotion to this cherished event. This tradition stands as a testament to the lasting spirit of liberty, made possible by the dedication and sacrifices of veterans like Charles Cram. “Celebrating our father’s 100th birthday at Disneyland is a once-in-a-lifetime gift for our family,” said Candace Audick, daughter of Charles. “As a proud member of the Greatest Generation, a decorated war hero, and the heart of our family, he’s our rock star. To see him here — surrounded by his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, with that same twinkle in his eye from when we visited as kids over 65 years ago — is simply priceless. This moment, filled with love, legacy, and joy, is one we will cherish forever.” Disney’s Enduring Tradition of Honoring U.S. Military Service Admiration for the U.S. Armed Forces is an important part of The Walt Disney Company’s century-long tradition of recognizing U.S. military service that began with founders Walt and Roy O. Disney’s own service to their country during the First World War. Since Disneyland opened in 1955, daily Flag ceremonies have recognized veterans and service members from across the country. One of the many ways Disneyland continues to honor military service is specially priced promotional theme park tickets for active and retired U.S. Military members (and their spouses) in 2026. Offers are valid through a U.S. Military base ticket office, and eligible service members/veterans can purchase via GOVX.com with a valid Military ID. The Walt Disney Company remains committed to honoring service members, veterans, and their families, which is even more special as Disney Celebrates America, a company-wide celebration commemorating the 250th anniversary of the United States’s 250th anniversary. Pin trading is one of the most beloved traditions at Disney World, and once you get hooked, it’s hard to imagine a park day without a growing collection of enamel pins ready to swap. Pin trading is so fun! But the experience gets even better when you’re actually set up for it. With the right gear, you’re not just carrying pins around the parks. You’re organized, ready to trade, and showing off your collection in style. Here are three essentials that make pin trading at Disney World a whole lot easier. DISCLOSURE: This post may contain affiliate links, meaning when you click the links and make a purchase, we receive a commission. A Pin Bag that Delivers Our pin-displaying sling bag! One of the trickiest parts of pin trading is balancing a bag full of park essentials with a growing collection of pins. You want something light, comfortable, and easy to access without unloading your entire pack every time someone wants to trade. That’s exactly what the Cherry Sauce Oxford Pin Sling Bag delivers. Back of the bag It slings comfortably over your shoulder, carries all your park day basics, and features a clear front pocket with an insert specifically designed to display your pins. Just attach them to the insert, slide it into the pocket, and your collection is on full display without the pins going anywhere. There’s even an extra pouch for more pins or coins, the strap is adjustable for either side of your body, and it comes in multiple colors so you can make it your own. Take a look at it before your next park day. view ON amazon This will help You Protect Your Pins PinFolio Go Pin Display Bag When you’re deep into pin trading, keeping your traders separate from your keepers is genuinely important. Nothing is worse than accidentally trading a pin you actually love or having unprotected pins scratching against each other all day. The PinFolio Go solves that problem with a compact binder that holds up to 40 one-inch pins, features self-healing foam pages that keep pins secure without traditional pin backs, and comes with a clear vinyl divider to separate your traders from the ones you want to keep. PinFolio Go Pin Display Bag It even has a detachable shoulder strap and a zipper closure, so it works as a standalone bag or tucks easily into a Loungefly backpack. At 8 inches by 5 inches, it’s a perfect size for the parks. You can grab one for your trip right here. view ON amazon Just in Case You Need a Replacement ©Amazon Here’s something that every pin collector eventually learns the hard way: pin backs go missing (constantly). Between trading, showing off your pins, and just moving through a busy park, they slip off more often than you’d expect. Keeping a set of replacement pin backs in your bag is one of those small moves that saves a lot of frustration. ©Amazon These rubber mouse ears pin backs are both functional and a little bit magical, with the iconic Mickey silhouette keeping things on-theme. They push on securely and work with Disney pins and other novelty collectible pins, and each pack comes with 12, so you’ll have plenty on hand. These are a must-grab before any pin trading trip. view ON amazon Pin trading is one of those Disney traditions that gets more fun the more prepared you are, and having the right setup makes a real difference in how much you enjoy it. Whether you’re a first-timer or a seasoned collector, these three essentials will keep your pins safe, organized, and ready to trade. The wait is almost over! Buzz Lightyear Space Ranger Spin After a long, LONG wait, the newly reimagined version of Buzz Lightyear Space Ranger Spin opens in just one week. The new ride will feature new blasters, targets, ride vehicles, and a brand-new character. Are you ready?! The agents at Small World Vacations know how to save money on your Disney Vacation! When you book your trip with Small World Vacations, their experienced agents monitor your reservation for possible future savings. They also compare discounts and figure out which one works best for your travel party, dates, resort, and touring plans. And they share expert tips and first-hand advice with you about your magical vacation. We can’t believe it! Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin will officially open next week, on April 8th. We’ve gotten the chance to check out the brand-new version of the attraction already, due to the soft opening that took place, but the OFFICIAL date is right around the corner. Soft opening preview sign If you make your way to the Magic Kingdom, they might still be running it for a soft open, but it’s not guaranteed. Soft open! The reimagined Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin features some awesome new elements and features. One of them is the brand-new ride vehicles. Not only do they have a new look, but the vehicles now have digital monitors that provide real-time scoring updates. The display will show you your score as well as your rank! New ride vehicles Then there are the new handheld blasters! The blasters have new lasers, new lighting, new sound effects, and now have a vibration effect. Our favorite change to the blasters, however, has to be that they can be removed from the vehicle and moved around. These blasters are removable! Speaking of blasting, the ride has all-new interactive targets that react and light up when hit. These ones will actually show you if you’re hitting them by flashing green, making scoring that much easier. Buzz We saved the best change for last, because the ride is bringing a brand-new character to the Magic Kingdom, and we’ve already fallen in love with him. The ride introduces us to Buddy, a robot who will train you at the beginning on how to take down the evil emperor Zurg. Our new favorite character in Tomorrowland? At this point, “excited” is an understatement for the rides’ re-opening next week! We can’t wait to hop back on and aim for Galactic Hero. Mobile Order is more popular than ever right now, which means return times can fill up fast and leave you stuck waiting longer than you want. ©Disney When you’re hungry in the parks, that delay can feel like a major disruption to your day. Luckily, there’s a super-easy trick that can help you work around it and even get your food sooner. Here’s exactly how it works and why you’re going to want to start doing this on your next trip to Walt Disney World. The Trick That Changes Everything Here’s what to do the next time a mobile order return time isn’t working for you. Go ahead and take whatever time is currently being offered and process the order anyway. Seriously, just place it even if the window feels inconvenient. © Disney || Mobile Order Once your order is placed, you’ll see the option to modify your return time. That’s where the magic happens. Earlier slots that weren’t showing up before will sometimes become available after you’re already in the system, and you can snag one of those instead. Why This Actually Works Disney’s mobile order system updates in real time as other guests cancel, modify, or complete their own orders. By locking in a spot first, you’re essentially keeping yourself in the running as availability shifts. Instead of refreshing the app over and over, waiting for the perfect time to appear, you’ve already got a foot in the door and can swap when something better opens up. Pinocchio Village Haus on Mobile Order ©Disney This is a strategy that’s been working consistently, especially for snagging a “prepare now” window that just wasn’t there a few minutes earlier. The Best Part: It’s Completely Risk-Free You have nothing to lose by trying this. Disney allows you to cancel your mobile order at any point before you tap “Prepare My Food,” which means if you decide to head somewhere else entirely, you can cancel without any penalty. No charges, no hassle. ©Disney So go ahead and place the order, check back for a better time, and if the whole plan changes, just cancel and move on. The system is more flexible than most guests realize. The Bottom Line Mobile ordering at Disney World is already a game-changer, but using it strategically takes the experience to a whole new level. Placing your order early and modifying the return time is one of those small tricks that makes a big difference, especially on a busy day when every minute counts. Our order is ready! Keep following DisneyFoodBlog for more tips, updates, and insider tricks that can make your park days smoother and more fun. Disney World has some great hotels and they make it pretty sweet to stay there! Grand Floridian Resort Disney offers you perks for staying at their hotels, like Early Theme Park Entry, Extended Evening Hours, advanced Lightning Lane booking, and free water park tickets, just to name a few. There are also occasionally promotions you can participate in, like Free Dining, where Disney will add a Dining Plan to your package for no additional cost. Pretty great, huh? But it all comes with a price point. We know Disney resorts can be pricey, but we’re thinking that this upgrade to your resort is totally worth it! Upgrade to a Preferred Room If you are staying at a resort that offers standard rooms and preferred rooms, such as Pop Century, you should think about upgrading to a preferred room. When we checked, it was an additional $31 per night, but note that this could change. So what do you get with that extra money? Pop Century In a standard room, you’ll have views of the resort or parking lot. In a preferred room, you’ll have views of “courtyard or landscaping,” according to Disney. You will likely be placed closer to transportation, the lobby, or dining areas. Pop Pool While this might not seem like that much, let me tell you that the convenience of being close to those things will be a game-changer, like when you are running to catch the bus to the parks or are walking back at night from a long park day. Disney World Hotel Upgrades Fans Think We Should Stop Buying Upgrade from a Moderate to a Deluxe Resort This upgrade is a bigger jump in price, but for your party, it might be worth it! We took a room at Disney’s Port Orleans Resort — Riverside, a moderate resort, and compared it to the same type of room at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge, a deluxe resort. It was a $268 difference per night. We know this is a big difference, but hear us out… Port Orleans Resort — Riverside This might be a good upgrade for families who are looking to spend more time relaxing at the resorts. We can see more theming and more amenities at Deluxe Resorts. Deluxe resorts often have more pools and more dining options. Disney’s Wilderness Lodge They also get a perk that value and moderates don’t… Extended Evening Hours. That’s right, you get more time in the parks for free! Learn More About Extended Evening Hours Here! Choosing a DVC Room If you are planning to stay at a Deluxe Resort, check to see if they have any Disney Vacation Club (DVC) rooms available. You do not have to be a DVC member to stay in these studios and villas. For example, a resort view room at Wilderness Lodge is $723 a night without any discounts applied. For that exact same price, you could stay in a deluxe studio at Boulder Ridge or Copper Creek, DVC properties located at the hotel. Copper Creek Villas With a studio, you get one bed, with a sleeper sofa and a kitchenette that includes a mini fridge and a microwave. This might be better for your party if you don’t need two beds like in the standard rooms. The kitchenette could be a big help! Seating Area of Copper Creek Villa Those are our suggestions if you are looking to upgrade your Disney vacation. For more Disney World tips, be sure to follow us at DFB! Spring in Disney World means many things, but for one, it means lots of new snacks are on their way into the parks for the season! Time for a new treat! Fortunately, Disney hasn’t released ALL the new treats at one time, so we can take our time heading to them and giving them our full attention. We heard there was a new shake over at Beaches & Cream Soda Shop, which can also be snagged at the To-Go Window, and while we enjoyed it overall, we have to admit that the reality looked NOTHING like the photo! Beaches & Cream Soda Shop is a table service dining spot, meaning that you need a reservation (or one is highly recommended), but the To-Go Window doesn’t require any advance planning, other than looking at the hours of operation. You can walk right up and order from the menu, but keep in mind that the menu from the window is different from the restaurant itself, as not everything is available! If you’re not staying at an EPCOT area resort, you can walk on over straight from the International Gateway in EPCOT, which is between the UK and France pavilions. Beach & Cream To Go! We stopped by to try the new Spring Shake for $16, which is a Vanilla Shake with Orange-Tangerine Syrup, Condensed Milk, and Orange Sprinkles topped with an Orange Macaron. Before we show you the actual shake itself, you need to see the promotional photo, because then you’ll see how different it is from what we were given. The promotional photo Our shake didn’t have that whipped cream on top of it at all, and the macaron was almost buried beneath the rim of the cup. Overall, we don’t feel it affected the taste, but it definitely was a bit of a shock when it looked pretty different from the photo. Spring Shake The orange flavor in here mostly gives us the vibe of orange creamsicle, though there were some sips where we got a hint of that medicinal orange taste. That medicinal taste was VERY present in the macaron, so unless you’re a fan of that, we recommend skipping that part. We don’t think we’d get the shake again, but if you’re a really big fan of orange, or your kids are, we think you may enjoy it; otherwise, we think there are better options around, even just here at the window. The macaron had a very medicinal taste Looking for more recent snack reviews? Check out our posts below! More Recent Reviews! When it comes to dining at Disney World, you’ve got a TON of options. Want something quick and easy? You’ve got it. Something middle-of-the-road and comforting? Yep, that too. And if you’re looking for something upscale and luxurious, you can find that too. Baja Tacos at Paradiso 37! We recently stopped by Paradiso 37, Taste of the Americas at Disney Springs, to see if the restaurant’s reputation is still accurate. Now we’re bringing you our FULL review. Is it worth a stop on your next trip to the Most Magical Place on Earth? Find out here! Atmosphere Paradiso 37 is located in Disney Springs within The Landing. This spot is near Jock Lindsey’s Hangar Bar. The table service offers up Latin fare and bites inspired by the Americas. Paradiso 37 Inside, you’ll find lively decor with tons of color and upbeat music. You can also find live music nightly at this restaurant, as well as waterfront views. How pretty is this?! There are lots of seating options like bar seating, booths, traditional table tops, and more. It’s pretty open! You can also find lots of greenery around the restaurant, which makes it feel even more lively. Greenery! Plus, this spot is known for its towering tequila bar with over 30 different kinds of tequila. Bar seating! But enough about the restaurant — what’s on the menu here?! Menu This menu offers a pretty wide variety of foods, including items like nachos, burgers, empanadas, tacos, pasta, ribs, and more. The front of the menu! You can also find desserts, specialty cocktails, lots of margaritas, and more. The back of the menu! And now, onto the main event — what we tried out! Drinks To drink, we picked up the Bahama Mama for $16. This is made with RumHaven coconut rum, Pineapple juice, Orange juice, grenadine, and Myers’s Dark rum floater. The Bahama Mama! This drink was dangerous in the best way! There is very little alcohol taste in this beverage. The rum flavor was masked by all the juices mixed in the drink. It’s tropical, fruity, and very popular, according to our waiter. While it didn’t taste heavily of rum, it was still fairly strong, so this is great for anyone looking for a nice alcoholic beverage without the pinch of alcohol. The toppings! We also love that there were berries and an organic slice on top for some extra presentation and sweetness. Eats First up, we grabbed the Cuban Yucca Fries for $20.00. These were made with yucca fries loaded with mojo roasted pork, cilantro garlic sauce, pink sauce, corn salsa, pickled red onion, and queso. The Loaded Yucca Fries! These were pretty tasty! The main flavor here was the pulled pork. It was meaty and smoky, although there wasn’t a lot of flavor from the corn or sauces on top. Even the yucca fries really didn’t offer a standout taste when eaten with the pork. Look at those toppings! The fries were crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside, which we really enjoyed. When we did get a taste of the sauces, we loved how flavorful and bright they were. That being said, we would have liked to see more of the sauce on this appetizer. Have a bite! Next, we grabbed the Baja Fish Tacos for $29.00. These tacos come with flour tortillas filled with crispy battered fish topped with sweet chili aioli, P37 house-made mango salsa, and tropical coleslaw. The Baja Fish Tacos These were a nice balance of savory and sweet! The mango salad had a nice, bright, and strong flavor on top of the fish, which was much appreciated. The coleslaw adds a nice crunch to the soft tacos and mango salsa. The fish didn’t have an overly strong flavor, although it was a little lukewarm when we were able to try it. How pretty! We would have liked to see more fish in the tacos themselves because the small pieces of meat were overwhelmed by the coleslaw and mango salsa. They were also pretty messy to enjoy. They fell apart as we took bites, and we ended up eating it mostly with a fork. These were unique, but if you’re looking for a protein-heavy taco, this might not be it. They’re nice and bright! For our dessert, we tried out the Mexican City Churros for $14. These were Cinnamon Sugar Churros drizzled with Caramel and Chocolate Sauce! The churros! These were pretty straightforward! They were sweet and on the smaller side, but the presentation was nice! They were fresher than what you experience in the Disney World theme parks, which we can really appreciate. They were nice and sweet, but there wasn’t anything that was super unique about them. A little dip! This is a nice shareable dessert, but if you’re looking for something to knock you off your feet we recommend trying something else. Nosh or Not This Disney World restaurant is a must-visit if… You need last-minute reservations You like a large menu for variety Or you love trying different kinds of tequila and margaritas You should skip this Disney World spot if… You’re looking for super unique meal options You like dishes that offer a punch of flavor Or you’re looking for a relaxing table service meal Overall This Disney World restaurant has had the same reputation for a few years now, and our latest visit confirms that it remains the same. It offers some tasty cocktails and great vibes, but the dishes tend to leave us wanting more. This can be a great stop for an easy, last-minute meal or for anyone who loves live music and good cocktails. If you’re looking for a stellar overall meal, you might want to consider some other Disney World table services. The full spread! In the meantime, we’ll be on the lookout for more restaurant updates from Disney World and beyond. Make sure you stay tuned to the Disney Food Blog for the latest Disney news and more! While there’s plenty of fun to be had at the Disneyland Resort during the day, nighttime comes with its own set of limitations. Disneyland Park Disneyland’s rules always seem to be changing, but one thing has always remained a constant — the theme park resort utilizes curfews. Despite having more relaxed hours than its Florida counterpart, Disneyland still has closing times and time limits for several offerings all over the resort. Last year, I brought up several curfews that Disneyland imposes on its guests, and in 2026, many of those same curfews — as well as others you should be aware of — will also be in effect. It’s important that you’re aware of these 4 Disneyland Resort curfews before your visit so you avoid any sticky situations Theme Park Curfews Last year, I emphasized that the parks generally close later in California than they do in Florida — especially during peak seasons. Disneyland Park is open later than Disney California Adventure most of the time — but you do need to be aware of separately-ticketed events that close the parks early for regular guests. Disneyland While theme park hours generally range between 9 PM and midnight (with Disneyland usually open until 11 PM or midnight and California Adventure open until 9 PM or 10 PM), keep in mind that parties can close Disneyland at 8 PM while California Adventure may close at 6 PM for events like Oogie Boogie Bash. Oogie Boogie Bash Entrance Crowds A general rule of thumb is that California Adventure will almost always close before Disneyland. However, when parties and after-hours events are scheduled, whichever park is running its normal operations will usually be your best bet for late-night rides and a normal park-going experience. Always, always, always check the Disneyland calendar before your trip and get familiar with the park hours before you even get to Disneyland. Downtown Disney Curfew The Disneyland Resort theme parks generally stay open about an hour after close for shoppers to get their final purchases in, and Downtown Disney does the same! This shopping, dining, and entertainment district remains open 1 hour after the LAST park closes — so if Disneyland closes at midnight like it normally does during the summer months, Downtown Disney will be available to you until 1 AM. As I previously mentioned, always check the Disneyland app to see how late the district is open, as times will fluctuate. World of Disney Downtown Disney Additionally, the Disneyland Monorail — when it’s up and running — will close its doors for the evening EARLY alongside Disneyland’s closure. This mode of transportation connects Tomorrowland to Downtown Disney, so it makes sense that it no longer runs after Disneyland closes its doors. Disneyland at night With all that said, it can close a little early, so we recommend not staying until close if you intend on using it. It also ceases operation during fireworks spectaculars, so it’s a better idea to use the monorail during the day or early evening, or you’ll risk not being able to use it at all. Parking Curfew If you drove to Disneyland, you really need to be aware of this next curfew. Disneyland parking structures and lots generally close 1 hour after the latest theme park closing time. Mickey & Friends Parking Structure There’s often a 3 AM hard closure, and no overnight parking is allowed except for hotel guests. This includes areas like Mickey & Friends, Pixar Pals, and the Toy Story parking lots/structures. Once again, when in doubt, check the app or the Disneyland website for times, or simply ask a Cast Member when parking about the specifics for that day. Hotel Pool Curfew If you’re looking to get a night swim in at Disneyland, it’s totally possible, but within reason. The Disneyland Hotel On those warm summer Southern California evenings, the weather can easily be in the 70s, 80s, or even 90s — ideal for a night swim. Disney’s three hotels each offer pool hours that usually let guests swim into the evening. Times usually range from 8 PM to 10 PM, so you’ll need to check with your hotel before heading to the pool. Views Keep in mind that inclement weather can cause pool closures, and refurbishments happen from time to time. While refurbishments are usually scheduled ahead of time, other factors can close a pool early, so always be ready for that last-second possibility. GCH Craftsman Bar is located right next to the Grand Californian’s main pool, with most tables just feet from the water! Disneyland’s curfews are largely the same in 2026, but times have slightly shifted over the years, and they can easily shift throughout this year, as well. We’ll be covering all the latest Disneyland rule changes and resort updates, so make sure you keep it posted right here at DFB to stay in the know! Planning a Disney World trip without checking ride closures first can seriously mess with your plans. Let’s go! Refurbishments are a totally normal part of how Disney keeps its attractions running smoothly, but they can still catch you off guard if you’re not paying attention. As we head into April 2026, a few attractions around Disney World will either remain closed or be in the middle of major changes. If any of these rides are must-dos for your group, you will definitely want to know before your trip. Here are three Disney World rides that will be closed for refurbishment in April 2026. Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin Over in Tomorrowland at Magic Kingdom, Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin shut down on August 4th, 2025 for a large enhancement project. The attraction is officially scheduled to reopen on April 8th, 2026, but previews and soft openings have started taking place, so you may get lucky! The updates coming to this ride are actually pretty exciting. Buzz One of the biggest additions is a brand new character named Buddy, a friendly robot created by Walt Disney Imagineering and Pixar Animation Studios. Buddy will appear in a new opening scene where Space Rangers can get ready for their mission with system checks, encouragement, and even a little target practice before blasting off. We love Buddy! The ride vehicles themselves are also getting a big upgrade. Star cruisers are being redesigned with new colors inspired by Buzz Lightyear and Star Command, and they will now include onboard video monitors that show real-time scoring updates. ©Disney Blasters are also getting a major change. Instead of the mounted blasters the ride has used for years, each vehicle will now have handheld blasters designed to make aiming easier. The new blasters include always-on lasers along with vibration and sound effects, so riders will know immediately when they hit a target. Speaking of targets, the old static Z targets are being replaced with interactive versions that light up and react when they are hit. All of these changes should make the ride feel much more modern once it officially returns on April 8th, 2026. Big Thunder Mountain Railroad Big Thunder Mountain Railroad is currently in the middle of a major refurbishment project that started all the way back on January 6th, 2025. Disney has confirmed that the attraction will remain closed until sometime in Spring 2026 while Imagineers work on track replacement and other enhancements. Work continues on Big Thunder Mountain Railroad. Frontierland is already seeing some huge changes as Disney continues its work on the upcoming Cars-themed area called Piston Peak. That project includes plans to fill in the Rivers of America and begin the early stages of a much larger transformation for the land. Disney has also shared that the updates to Big Thunder Mountain Railroad will help improve how the ride connects with nearby areas like Liberty Square and the future Villains Land expansion. Big Thunder Mountain Railroad If Big Thunder Mountain Railroad is one of the rides your group always prioritizes, this is something you will want to keep in mind when planning your day at Magic Kingdom. The good news is that when Disney takes this much time to work on an attraction, it usually means the finished result is going to feel noticeably refreshed. Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith Rock ’n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith officially closed on March 2nd, 2026, which means guests visiting in April will not be able to ride the attraction in its original form anymore. However, the coaster itself isn’t going away. Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Instead, Disney is transforming the ride into a brand new version featuring the Muppets. The updated attraction is expected to open sometime in Summer 2026! ©Disney The story will center around the Electric Mayhem band preparing for their biggest concert ever. Guests will enter the recording studio where the band is in the middle of a jam session while the penguins handle audio engineering duties. Scooter will be trying to get the band to the concert venue on time, and that’s where riders come in. ©Disney During the high-speed ride through Los Angeles, guests will be rocking out to Electric Mayhem as they race to make the show. Disney has also teased that the attraction will include a brand new Muppet animatronic! ©Disney We’ll be watching for official reopening dates and additional details as Disney releases them. Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort is one of the most iconic stays at Walt Disney World, known for its tropical vibes, popular restaurants, and unbeatable location on the Monorail loop. Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort Many guests already know to grab a seat inside Trader Sam’s Grog Grotto for interactive drinks and Jungle Cruise-inspired fun, or to swing by Tambu Lounge for those fan-favorite ‘Ohana noodles without the full reservation. And if you’ve spent any time in the lobby, you may have even spotted the Hidden Mickey tucked into the stone floor. But there’s one thing a surprising number of guests don’t know, and it could cost you valuable time on your Disney vacation. You might think of the monorail as a big perk of staying at the Polynesian because you can take it to two of Disney’s parks — Magic Kingdom and EPCOT. But what you might think is a perk is actually costing you time. If you’re heading to EPCOT from the Polynesian, it might seem natural to hop on the Monorail right at the resort. After all, it’s convenient and iconic. But here’s the catch: the Monorail line at the Polynesian doesn’t go directly to EPCOT. Monorail at the Polynesian Instead, you’ll board the Resort Monorail, which makes multiple stops before you can even think about transferring. From the Polynesian, you’ll stop at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, then continue on to Magic Kingdom Park, and then to Disney’s Contemporary Resort. Only after all of that will you finally arrive at the Transportation and Ticket Center (TTC), where you’ll have to disembark, switch lines, and wait again for the EPCOT Monorail. That’s a lot of stops and a lot of time. These Hotels Will GUARANTEE You More Park Time in Disney World EPCOT Monorail Here’s the more efficient move that many guests overlook: walk to the Transportation and Ticket Center instead. There’s a clearly marked walking path from the Polynesian that takes you straight to the TTC. From there, you’ll go through security once and board the EPCOT Monorail directly with no extra loops, no unnecessary stops, and no wasted time doubling back. Walk the path to save time! For guests staying in the main buildings of the Polynesian, this walk is often quicker than waiting for and riding the Resort Monorail route. It’s especially helpful in the morning when you’re trying to rope drop EPCOT or make an early dining reservation. The only exception? If you’re staying farther out, like at the Island Tower, the walk may be longer and less convenient, so it’s worth weighing your location before deciding. Views from the Island Tower Timing can make a big difference here. During peak hours, Monorails can be crowded, and missing one can add even more delay. By walking to the TTC, you’re cutting out multiple variables and giving yourself a more direct, predictable route to EPCOT. It’s a simple shift, but one that seasoned Disney pros swear by. Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort At the end of the day, it’s all about working smarter, not harder, when navigating Disney transportation. This is one of those tips that can actually save you time and stress. If you’re on vacation in Disney World right now, you’re not the only one! Cinderella Castle It’s Spring Break season, baby! The week leading up to Easter and the week following Easter are some of the most crowded days of Spring Break season, and the people have definitely shown up in Magic Kingdom in full force. Let’s take a look! We took a lap around Magic Kingdom on the morning of Tuesday, March 31st to see what the crowds were like, and boy were they a little overwhelming. Here’s a shot of Frontierland with everyone heading to their next to-do list item! Frontierland Tomorrowland wasn’t much better! There are several popular rides in this land, and visitors were hustling all over to get to them. You’ll probably be doing a good bit of bobbing and weaving if you’re in the parks today. Wow, PEOPLE Speaking of popular rides, Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin soft opened early after its lengthy refurbishment. We spotted the ride open over the weekend, but it looks like the soft opening is continuing today! Keep in mind that during a soft opening, the ride is not guaranteed to operate as normal. Buzz was open! When we stopped by, the wait time was 45 minutes. That’s honestly not too bad, especially for the crowd levels today! The ride will officially reopen on April 8th. Buzz queue Even in the middle of the morning, Main Street, U.S.A. was pretty packed! This was past the rope drop rush, around the ideal arrival time for those who slept in during their vacation. Crowds on Main Street, U.S.A. We went up on the Main Street, U.S.A. Train Station to get a POV from that direction, and things are just as busy from this angle! Work continues on the repainting of Cinderella Castle this morning, so you may want to wait until later in the day to grab a castle photo — nobody wants the equipment in the background.
