Are you ready to hear the Bluey theme song hummed around Disney’s Animal Kingdom in a couple of weeks? Disney’s Animal Kingdom Starting on May 26th, characters from the beloved show Bluey will be coming to Disney World. Bluey and Bingo will be at a new area called Bluey’s Wild World. The experience will include meet-and-greets with Bluey and Bingo, dance parties, interactive play, Bluey-themed games, and a new petting zoo with Australian animals. However, if you want to check out the new attraction, you’ll need to get familiar with the virtual queue system again! Bluey’s Wild World is opening at the Conservation Station on May 26th, taking over what used to be Rafiki’s Planet Watch. When it opens, Disney confirmed it will use a virtual queue. Conservation Station Guests will need to join the virtual queue to experience Bluey’s Wild World at Conservation Station, the Wildlife Express Train, Jumping Junction, and the Animal Care experiences at Conservation Station. This will be the only way to experience any of the Bluey stuff, as there will NOT be a standby queue available during the initial opening period. Wildlife Express That being said, Disney does actually expect to open a standby queue at a later date, but that date hasn’t been revealed yet. So for now, guests can request to join the virtual queue via the My Disney Experience app at one of two times. The first time will be at 7 AM, and the next time will be at 10 AM. Disney’s Animal Kingdom To request to join the virtual queue at 7 AM, you will need a valid admission and a theme park reservation to Disney’s Animal Kingdom. You do not need to be in Disney’s Animal Kingdom when joining during that first window. To request to join at 10 AM, you will need to be inside Animal Kingdom to join. Starting on May 26th, Bluey characters will appear in the park, getting a new experience at Conservation Station called Bluey’s Wild World. When it comes toDisney World, there are a lot of rules — both official and unofficial — that guests “need” to follow. Early entry sign! However, we’d argue that there are some unofficial “rules” that guests should break at least once! “You ALWAYS Need a Plan” Our first point has some caveats. For better or worse, a day at any Disney World park in 2026 generally requires some hefty planning, including making dining reservations and booking Lightning Lanes (hold that thought specifically) and generally having a very structured plan for the day. However, we’d advise that those who have extended access to the parks — Annual Passholders, those who find themselves at Disney World often, and even simply those who have a long multi-day trip — should take a day with no plan at all. Instead, simply go by vibes as it were. Take the day as it comes, and experience the park as the day evolves. Dumbo “You NEED to Use Lightning Lanes” So, speaking of Lightning Lanes specifically, we’d also advise that those who visit the parks often or those who visit during the comparatively slower periods (late January, the period between spring break season and summer, late August, mid-September) should spend a park day without using Lightning Lanes, instead relying on traditional standby queues. Think of it as a “throwback to 1998” day. Lightning Lane The truth is Lightning Lanes, especially during the slower seasons, aren’t always necessary. If you have a lot of time and a chill day at, say, Animal Kingdom, you likely don’t need Lightning Lanes for that day. “You MUST Rope Drop EVERY Day…” While arriving as early as possible to rope drop at a Disney World park (or taking advantage of 30 minutes earlier Early Entry if one is a Disney World hotel guest) is definitely worth it the majority of the time. However, sometimes it’s also worth skipping out on an early arrival to enjoy some early morning time outside the parks, which can include sleeping in one’s hotel room, spending some time by the hotel pool, or having breakfast at a hotel or Disney Springs restaurant. Adventureland rope drop crowds. “… And You HAVE to See the Fireworks EVERY Night” At the opposite end of the day, there’s no denying that Walt Disney World’s nighttime spectaculars – including Happily Ever After at the Magic Kingdom, Luminous at EPCOT, and Fantasmic at Hollywood Studios – are some of the resort’s best offerings. However, that doesn’t mean that guests need to stay until close to see them each and every night. The big finale! For starters, several Walt Disney World hotels offer tremendous views of the fireworks in much calmer, less crowded environments. The Magic Kingdom’s display is visible from the hotels that surround the Seven Seas Lagoon: The Polynesian Village, the Contemporary, and the Grand Floridian Resort & Spa. Wave Break Terrace Meanwhile, EPCOT’s show is visible from the hotels that surround Crescent Lake, as well as the Riviera Resort. Luminous from Sebastian’s Bistro Beyond that, guests can leave the park early for a meal at one of Disney’s hotels (some of which provide fireworks views) or even simply for a nighttime swim at their hotel. EPCOT Fireworks Views from Topolino’s Terrace “You NEED to Eat a Table Service Meal” While Disney World does offer a slew of delicious table service restaurants that we heartily recommend, guests don’t need to eat at one every single time they’re in the parks. Instead, have a counter service meal or two. Maple-Mustard Glazed Salmon Some of our favorite quick-service eateries include the New England seafood of Magic Kingdom’s Columbia Harbour House, Regal Eagle Smokehouse’s selection of American BBQ at EPCOT, Hollywood Studios’ Woody’s Lunch Box (try the Totchos AKA tater tots, topped with chili, sour cream, cheese, green onion, and Fritos), and the Satu’li Canteen in Animal Kingdom’s Pandora. TOTCHOS! Next time you’re heading to the “Most Magical Place on Earth,” maybe consider breaking one of these unwritten “rules” during your trip. We’re getting closer and closer to the opening of Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets at Hollywood Studios, and to say we’re excited would be a MAJOR understatement. ©Disney On May 26th, Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets will be opening, and we’re pretty excited for their takeover of G-Force Records. We’re on the hunt for every single update we can get about this new ride, and Disney just delivered. Get ready, because a new snack stand called FØØD by Swedish Chef is opening along with the ride! Disney shared that the fan-favorite spot (formerly home to KRNR) is rolling out a refreshed look along with an updated menu featuring all-new snacks and drinks designed to keep the good vibes going long after the ride is over. While we don’t have a look at the menu just yet, a foodie guide will be coming soon. KRNR The Rock Station From the one image we do have, it looks like there will be some sort of twisted churro with sprinkles and what looks like a chocolate dipping sauce. We’re hoping this snack stand will have a mix of sweet and savory treats (and we REALLY hope those corn dog nuggets stick around!). KRNR Corn Dog Nuggets The new spot will be opening on May 26th, along with the refurbished ride, so you KNOW we’ll be there to check it out and review all the new snacks. Just when we thought it couldn’t get any better, Universal’s Epic Universe is about to upgrade its merchandise collection available at the park! Epic Universe! Although it’s unrelated to Epic Universe coming up to its first anniversary, the park is getting new merchandise on the shelves, and we’re so excited! One of our favorite things to buy when we’re at Disney World is Disney Lug Bags. Well, Lug bags are officially coming to Epic, and we’re freaking out! We just saw on Lug’s official Instagram account, @luglife, that the company announced Lug bags will officially be coming to Epic Universe in the future. The way they worded it was, “An Epic Adventure Begins Soon.” @luglife via Instagram Unfortunately, there is nothing else that came with this announcement. There has not been a date announced for when the bags will drop, nor any opening timeline. On top of that, there hasn’t been any announcement or tease as to how the Lug Bags will be themed. Lug Bags for DAYS All we know is that the bags are coming “soon”, but that can mean a wide range. That being said, we’re SUPER excited to see them at Epic Universe eventually. Could we get Super Mario bags? Harry Potter? How to Train Your Dragon? Who knows, but we can’t wait! Disney Lug Bags! If you’re staying at a Disney World Resort in the future, you’ll want to check out the refurbishment calendar before you go on your vacation! Disney’s Beach Club Often, Disney World resorts get scheduled for construction to update common areas, makeover the hotel rooms, or just do general maintenance in common areas. Disney World’s website will include this information on the resort pages, so you know what to expect. And if you’re staying at Beach Club soon, there’s a construction timeline update we have to share! Work on the exterior of the buildings at Disney’s Beach Club Resort has been happening for a little while, now. This project included an update to the porte cochere at the hotel entrance a few months back, but it continues to affect many other areas of the resort. Now, the project timeline has been extended through late 2027. Beach Club Construction When we’ve visited recently, parts of the hotel have been covered in scaffolding. This work is fairly visible, and Disney warns that it will impact views from various areas around the hotel — meaning your room view may not be as magical as you’d hoped. You may also be required to take alternate paths to get around the resort. Beach Club You may see and hear construction work in the area during daytime hours if you’re visiting. Make sure to heed all signage and practice caution near construction zones. We’ve seen the timeline for this particular project shift its ending date several times, so if you’re considering this hotel, you’ll want to double-check the website before booking to see if the refurbishment dates are still set through late 2027. Beach Club Lobby The good news is that the main offerings at Beach Club are still available! One of the biggest draws for this resort is the Stormalong Bay Pool, which it shares with Yacht Club. Also, this hotel is home to Cape May Cafe, which hosts a character breakfast with Minnie Mouse and pals, and the fan-favorite Beaches & Cream Soda Shop, where you can find the giant Kitchen Sink Sundae (it serves FOUR people!). Kitchen Sink Another big draw of Beach Club is that it’s the closest you can actually stay to any of the theme parks. Room 1501 (and surrounding rooms) at this hotel are literally just a few hundred steps away from the International Gateway entrance to EPCOT. On a day reporting in the parks, I once counted those steps out loud — it’s 245 steps away from the EPCOT Skyliner station, if you were wondering. Disney World has a NEW ticket option, and fans are divided about it! Magic Kingdom If you’re going to Disney World this summer and looking for a way to save money on your tickets, the new afternoon ticket might be just what you’re looking for. But even though it’s more budget-friendly, it definitely has some pros and cons to consider. After 2PM Ticket To start, what is this new afternoon ticket? Well, it’s the After 2PM Ticket, a date-based ticket with start dates from May 26th through July 29th, 2026, so it’s only available for the summertime. Each day of the ticket, you can use it to access one of the four Disney World theme parks…but only after 2PM. Scanning in! You can purchase either a 2-day or a 3-day After 2PM Ticket. The 2-day ticket must be used within four days of the selected start date, and the 3-day ticket must be used within five days of the selected start date. You can only visit one park per day with this ticket, and no Disney Park Pass reservations are required. Mickey Mouse For the 2-day ticket, prices range from $234.99-$315.81 per person, depending on the dates you select. The 3-day tickets range from $346.86-$461.50 per person. Is Disney World’s New Afternoon Ticket Deal Worth It? Magic Kingdom So, who is this ticket for? Well, starting at Magic Kingdom, you might want to use this After 2PM Ticket if you’re the type of person who doesn’t like to get up early and do rope drop in the park. Crowds can be rough here midday, but if you can hang until park close, you’ll get shorter wait times post-fireworks. And speaking of fireworks, it’s a decent deal if that’s a priority to you, as opposed to the entertainment that happens earlier in the day. If you get into the park at 2PM and it’s open until 10PM or 11PM, that’s still eight or nine hours you can spend knocking out your to-do list. Magic Kingdom You should probably skip this type of ticket in Magic Kingdom if you want to prioritize the characters or daytime parades and cavalcades. Showtimes for those things can vary, and sometimes they happen before 2PM. Characters typically wrap up their day (if they meet outside) before dinnertime, so you wouldn’t get many chances to meet them. Magic Kingdom is also a popular park for families with littles, and if your kids have a strict bedtime, this is probably not the ticket for your group. Finally, you might want to skip the After 2PM Ticket in Magic Kingdom if you’re hoping to maximize your day and do all the rides — it’s the park with the most rides, so you’ll need pretty much the whole day if you want to accomplish it all. When it’s festival season, it’s incredibly popular for Annual Passholders to just pop into this park for dinner, and you could do the same! Also, ride wait times drop significantly in EPCOT in the evenings (since most people head to World Showcase), so you could use this ticket to do rides with lower waits. EPCOT You should probably skip using this ticket in EPCOT if you want to hit up the front AND back of the park. EPCOT is absolutely massive, and doing the ride and attraction-heavy neighborhoods of World Celebration, World Nature, and World Discovery, along with doing the food-heavy World Showcase in the same day, will require more hours than this ticket will give you. Hollywood Studios At Hollywood Studios, this ticket could be a good idea if you want to hit a few of the big rides or if you’ve got a group that can hang until park close. If you’re really interested in seeing Fantasmic, this ticket could give you that opportunity, but if you’re not as keen on nighttime entertainment, the After 2PM Ticket gives you a prime opportunity to hit up high wait time attractions like Slinky Dog Dash, Rise of the Resistance, and the new Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets. Slinky Dog Dash in Hollywood Studios Similar to Magic Kingdom, you should skip using the After 2PM Ticket here if daytime entertainment is important to you, you want to see a lot of characters, or if you want to do ALL the rides. There are several theater shows at this park that run during the day, and if you use the After 2PM Ticket, you’ll have to pick and choose one or two of them to see. The park hours here are situated so that this park closes earliest, and that might make you think that the After 2PM Ticket is a bad choice for this park. However, those last few hours of the day at Animal Kingdom are when crowds drop significantly. You might be able to get more done from 2PM-6PM here than you would from 8AM-2PM. Pandora But if you truly are concerned about “bang for your buck,” this park gives the least value for the afternoon ticket. Also, like Hollywood Studios, there are multiple stage shows here that have showtimes ending around 5PM, so you might not get the chance to see them all. Disney World is home to the best cake slices around. Don’t ask us why this is such a hotspot for massive cake slices filled with so much icing, but we will take advantage of it every single time we can. Here we go! We headed to Gideon’s Bakehouse at Disney Springs to try a new cake slice that has arrived, and somehow, cake keeps getting better at Disney. Say hello to the Blueberry Lemonade Cake Slice for $11. This is a lemon curd swirl cake with fresh blueberry jam, graham cracker crust crumble, and a vibrant blueberry buttercream. The slices are available on Wednesdays and Saturdays in May, and there’s no food coloring in them (so yes, that pinkish purple is pure freshness!). Blueberry Lemonade Cake The lemon and the blueberry go so well together! The cake itself was squishy, moist, and perfectly baked, and the frosting was blueberry-flavored without being overly sweet. It was beautifully creamy, and the jam seemed to be a bunch of fresh blueberries squished together (in the best way). Look at the fluffiness! We loved how the lemon really stands out against the strong flavor of the blueberry, so you truly get the best of both worlds. The whole slice wasn’t too sweet, and whether you decide to share or keep it all to yourself, we think for $11 it’s a great price, too. Equal layers of icing and cake Now we have to warn you about Gideon’s: while we absolutely love the bakery, so does everyone else, and there is usually a line. This is not a place that you can quickly run in and grab something, so be prepared to wait a bit (and maybe grab some cookies while you’re there, since you do deserve it after waiting in line). Gideon’s Bakehouse Mmm, there might be nothing better than diving into a big slice of cake during a Disney World trip, and we’re going to keep trying more! Disney World is constantly trying to find ways to entice us into planning a trip… Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort …and then trying to find ways to make us “plus up” that very trip. Think about it — they get you hook, line, and sinker with the cutesy commercials on TV and social media and soon you’re booking a stay at a Disney Resort. But then, you’re also spending extra on the Dining Plan, the Lightning Lanes, and all the experiences that you hope will make your trip “magical.” Well, in the past several months, they’ve been targeting folks who already have trips booked! If you’re staying at a Disney Resort soon, you may find an email in your inbox from Disney, offering you the chance to upgrade your hotel room at a discount. The email states that this is a “limited-time opportunity” and that selections and prices may change, so you need to act fast. ©Disney The offer is based on your current reservation, and when you click on the “View Your Offer” link, you’ll be led to a page on the Disney World website that shows you a selection of hotel rooms more expensive than the ones you have currently booked. They’ll be available at discounted prices, but we urge you to pause before you book! Port Orleans — French Quarter From our experience with this offer, the rooms aren’t always a better deal (if ever) than what you can book on your own on the Disney World website. Yes, they may be a smidge cheaper than rack rates, but if you look at prices on the website with any other current special offers applied (like seasonal room discounts), you likely won’t be saving anything on your trip. Riviera Resort This is a pretty clever marketing ploy from Disney, getting people to upgrade their rooms last-minute. We imagine the “hurry!” language causes quite a few split-second upgrade decisions and sells more of those Deluxe Resort hotel rooms. After all, it’s a lot easier to pay a couple hundred bucks more when you’re a few days out than to justify the price during the initial booking process when you see the big number with everything all together. Pop Century So if you get one of these emails, make sure you check prices on the Disney World website outright before you jump at the offer. It might not be the sweet deal that you think it will be. Is it a dream of yours to make magic at Disney World? Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party map Well, right now Disney Live Entertainment is accepting online submissions for dancers and actors for shows that are returning for the Christmas season this year! If you’re a talented performer, you’re going to want to check out the auditions for these roles. Disney Live Entertainment is looking for dances who for both Mickey’s Most Merriest Celebration and Disney Jollywood Nights’ Holidays in Hollywood. That’s not all, as Disney is also looking for actors for Frozen Holiday Surprise. Contracts for all three shows will start in mid-September 2026 and run through early January 2027. That covers Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party, Jollywood Nights, and the full holiday season at Disney World! Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party So, three different shows, and a bunch of different things that Disney is looking for. Let’s take a look at the roles in detail! Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmastime Parade Mickey’s Most Merriest Celebration Auditions Mickey’s Most Merriest Celebration is coming back to Magic Kingdom at the Cinderella Castle Stage as part of Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party. The show features Mickey and his friends having a Christmas celebration. The show is filled with classic holiday songs, new songs, characters, vocalists, and dancers. Mickey’s Most Merriest Celebration What Disney needs for the show are male and female presenting dancers with exceptional technique and performance quality! Candidates must be proficient in musical theatre-jazz, Latin, and country styles. Knowledge of partnering and dance lifts is a plus. Mickey’s Most Merriest Celebration Holidays in Hollywood Jollywood Nights is looking for performers as it comes back for another year at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. The show in need of talent is Holidays in Hollywood, which takes place at the Theater of the Stars. The show is all about vintage Hollywood television specials, with a Disney twist. Disney Holidays in Hollywood The show features some of your favorite Disney characters, including Kermit the Frog, Miss Piggy, Tiana, Belle, Minnie Mouse, and Mickey Mouse. Not only that, but the show could feature potentially YOU. The cast is filled with singers, dancers, and live jazz musicians. Mickey! For this show, Disney is looking for male and female presenting dancers with exceptional technique and performance quality. Candidates must be proficient in musical theatre-jazz and swing. Disney Holidays in Hollywood Frozen Holiday Surprise Lastly, Frozen Holiday Surprise is returning to Magic Kingdom, featuring Anna, Elsa, Kristoff, and Olaf on stage in front of the Cinderella Castle for a live holiday show. However, for this show, Disney is looking for ACTORS! Submissions for Frozen Holiday Surprise are open to actors local to Central Florida only. Frozen Holiday Surprise If you’re interested in acting in Frozen Holiday Surprise, see if you match the descriptions below: Anna (5’3″–5’7″): Elsa’s younger sister and Princess of Arendelle. Quirky, a bit awkward at times, and fun-spirited with great comedic timing. Elsa (5’3″–5’7″): The elegant Queen of Arendelle. Sincere and caring, with a confident stage presence. Kristoff (5’10″–6’2″): The rugged yet warmhearted ice harvester of Arendelle. Quick-witted with great comedic timing. This is a big opportunity! For those unaware, the Walt Disney World Swan and Walt Disney World Dolphin are not Disney-owned hotels, despite being located on Walt Disney World property. So, it’s safe to say they are seriously a great place to stay during a Disney World vacation! The Swan & Dolphin are home to over 20 restaurants and lounges that offer “something for everyone, from the most passionate foodie, to those seeking a quick, yet satisfying meal”, including both Mickey Waffles and DOLE Whip! Let’s begin with Mickey Waffles, which can be found at Java inside the Walt Disney World Swan Hotel. Available for $7.50 from 6:00 AM to 11:00 AM, the iconic waffles come with cinnamon, powdered sugar, and maple syrup. Mickey Waffles from Java at Swan While these are the same Mickey Waffles you’ll find at other restaurants on Disney property, the advantage comes from their convenience. They’re a quick grab-and-go-style item you can enjoy on your way to the parks. No sit-down meal, no dining reservation, no major planning. Just Mickey Waffles in their purest form! Mickey Waffles from Java at Swan Waffles shaped like the “Big Cheese” aren’t the only major Disney snack you can grab at the hotels, though. Over at the Dolphin’s Fuel, you can find a customizable Frozen Yogurt and DOLE Whip station! DIY DOLE Whip Classic Pineapple DOLE Whip is one of the six flavors available here, with others including Chocolate, Vanilla, Strawberry, New York Cheesecake, and Caramel Corn. In other words, you can mix 1-2 flavors with 10 different toppings to choose from, like say New York Cheesecake and Pineapple Dole Whip with sprinkles and nuts on top…and sorry about that, started channeling my inner Homer Simpson for a second there. Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party runs on select nights from August 7th to October 31st in Magic Kingdom, and tickets are officially on sale. Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party This after-hours event is packed with trick-or-treating, rare characters, special entertainment, and exclusive snacks. Dates sell out far before the end of the Halloween season, and we’re keeping track of all the sold-out dates for the 2026 season. For 2026, the current sold-out dates include: October 31st, 2026 So much entertainment Halloween night is usually the first date to sell out since people love to spend the actual holiday inside the parks, but Halloween fun starts as early as August in Disney World. By October, the weather is just a smidge cooler, and wearing costumes in the Florida heat is a little bit easier. Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party runs on: August 7, 11, 14, 18, 21, 23, 25, 28, and 30 September 1, 4, 8, 11, 13, 15, 18, 20, 22, 24, 25, 27, and 29 October 1, 2, 4, 6, 8, 9, 13, 15, 16, 18, 22, 23, 25, 27, 29, and 31 Tickets range from $119 to $229 per ticket, with the more expensive tickets being closer to Halloween. Annual Passholders and Disney Vacation Club Members are eligible for a $10 on select nights from August 7th to October 2nd, so don’t forget to use your discount if you can! Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party The party starts at 7 PM and runs till midnight, but guests can enter Magic Kingdom at 4 PM, which means you can get a few more hours in the parks. You can use this time to grab dinner, ride some attractions, or experience anything else that might be closed during the party.
