  1. Banana Ball is a fast-paced, entertainment-focused version of baseball pioneered by the Savannah Bananas. The game differs from baseball with fresh new rules, like 2-hour time limits, choreographed dances, and fan interaction. Savannah Bananas at Disneyland The baseball twist is growing in popularity, surging past millions of viewers. But now, this final Banana Ball event of the season, coming to Disney+, will change everything! Banana Ball’s 60-game season will end in a championship game, the Banana Bowl. The event will bring together teams from the Banana Ball league, including the Savannah Bananas, the Party Animals, and more. But this season’s grand finale will be infused with pixie dust – it will air exclusively on Disney+! The Savannah Bananas at Disneyland “For our first season of the Banana Bowl league, we wanted to make the championship larger than life, and that’s what we’re doing,” Savannah Bananas owner Jesse Cole said on Instagram. “We needed a partner that could showcase this game to millions of fans, and that’s what we’re doing. We’re proud to partner with Disney and Disney+, and now we’re going to share this game all over the world to millions of fans.” ©Disney The game will not only air on Disney+, but additionally on Disney’s YouTube for free to fans without Disney+, ensuring everyone can watch it. “Don’t worry, we’re going to keep our fans-first promise,” Cole continued. “The game will be on Disney’s YouTube as well, so everyone everywhere can see it.” Hundreds of fans at Savannah Bananas Day at Disneyland The Banana Bowl’s October 2026 date hasn’t been announced yet, but Jesse Cole let us know that more details will be coming soon. “We’ve got a lot more surprises to announce and more announcements to come, but this is a great start,” Jesse told his Instagram followers. “We’re going to share where we’re going to play, which will be epic, what date it will be, some of the epic performances to put on this game, larger than life, some of the best performances we’ve ever done, and some of the craziest over-the-top trophies. So stay tuned because we’re just getting started!” Jesse Cole, owner of the Savannah Bananas, at Disneyland We’re so excited to watch even more Banana Ball on Disney+. 2. May 26th is one of the most anticipated Disney World days in recent memory, with several major openings including the debut of the new Muppets-infused version of the Rock ’n’ Roller Coaster and the Disney Jr. Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Live! at Hollywood Studios, the patriotic-themed Soarin’ Across America at EPCOT, the launch of the Cool Kids Summer promotion, and the return of the free water park day perk. However, for many parents and kids, all of that pales in comparison to BLUEY! ©Disney That’s right, May 26th will finally see everyone’s favorite Australian Heeler puppy and her family make their Disney World debut at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. However, there’s something important parents of young kids need to know. Animal Kingdom’s Conservation Station will be home to Bluey’s Wild World, where guests will be able to “play and dance with Bluey and Bingo! Play some of (their) favorite games from Bluey episodes with a fun animal twist, like butterfly keepy uppy”, grab the whole family, and “snap some pictures alongside your Blue Heeler pals to remember this one-of-a-kind adventure.” The experience will also feature animals native to Bluey’s home country of Australia! ©Disney However, the issue that families may run into is that Conservation Station is only accessible via the Wildlife Express Train, which only allows foldable strollers onboard. Therefore, parents will need to park their stroller at the station in Africa and take the train to Conversation Station, and pick up their stroller upon their return. This brings up several potential issues, including children needing to be outside of their strollers, as well as the amount of stroller parking required. After all, if Disneyland’s Bluey show is any indication, Bluey’s Wild World is going to be MASSIVELY popular. Not much room for dancing In addition to Bluey’s Wild World, a new Bluey-themed treat is also debuting at the park! Beginning on May 26th, the Fairy Bread Cake will be available at Pizzafari. It’s a vanilla birthday cake dipped in white chocolate with rainbow sprinkles. I’ll be served with a raspberry dipping sauce. Fairy Bread Cake Bluey’s Wild World, the first Walt Disney World experience based on the mega-popular Australian series Bluey, is debuting at Animal Kingdom on May 26th, and parents should be prepared for their kids to be separated from their strollers for an extended period. 3. Disney Springs has seen so many permanent closures this year! First, it was Sprinkles Cupcakes, then Francesca’s, plus Shore, and Johnston & Murphy just closed last week. Disney Springs But now, we finally have some good Disney Springs news – two new stores will open soon! While we don’t know where specifically Cole Haan will be located once it opens, their Instagram did tease Disney Springs’ Town Center. Recent closures in the Town Center area include the footwear brand Johnston & Murphy and women’s clothing brand Francesca’s. Cole Haan has likely leased one of the two storefronts! It would be fitting for them to move into the former Johnston & Murphy storefront, considering its similar audience. Johnston & Murphy Another new store is coming to Disney Springs. A Notice of Commencement permit was filed for the former location of beachy boutique, Shore. According to the permit, a Vuori store will move into the Town Center storefront, but they need to redo the space first. The permit filed is for “commercial tenant improvement,” which means they’ll renovate and modify the space to fit their branding and operational needs. The former Shore storefront Vuori is a California-based athletic wear brand known for its comfortable joggers and athleisure pieces. They operate 40 stores in major U.S. cities, including Los Angeles, Chicago, Denver, New York, San Francisco, and Boston. Their clothing is also sold at retailers like Nordstrom, REI, and Equinox, in addition to the former Shore storefront at Disney Springs. Vuori lovers won’t have to go far to get their new fits! Closing sales at Shore We also previously confirmed that a Vans store will be coming to Disney Springs, so keep an eye out for that, too! 7. A new ride is coming soon to Disneyland Resort and Disney World! Soarin’ Across America Soarin’ Across America is the third iteration of Soarin’, this time celebrating some of the United States’ most iconic landmarks and locales. This version is arriving in EPCOT and California Adventure in honor of America’s 250th birthday, and we just got a sneak peek at some of the locations that will be featured in the new ride film. Disney has shared that this new ride will feature breathtaking views “from sea to shining sea,” and based on this sneak peek, they weren’t kidding! The quality of the images already looks a step above the old version of the ride. ©Disney You’ll see stunning locations like New York Harbor, the New England coastline, and Grand Canyon West. Disney says, “The experience features so many quintessentially American settings… the autumn colors of the heartland; the beauty of our bayous; the great plains of the west; the northern wilderness; and sunlit island shores.” ©Disney “Each scene helps to create a portrait of what we believe makes America so special,” said Tom Fitzgerald, creative director and chief storytelling executive at Walt Disney Imagineering. “It’s a tapestry of urban wonders, natural beauty, and iconic locations that celebrate the spirit of the nation and the 250th anniversary of the United States.” ©Disney A new arrangement of the Soarin’ themes was made by Bruce Broughton. And while you wait in the queue, you can check out the NEW trivia game. The Soarin’ Challenge Across America was made in collaboration with National Geographic and will have you and your crew answering trivia questions about the 50 states. Also, photography from National Geographic has been added to the queue to transform the space into something more visually stunning. ©Disney Remember, this ride opens on May 26th at EPCOT and then on July 2nd at Disney California Adventure. 8. We practically live at EPCOT during the Food & Wine Festival, and these are the hacks that never let us down! 2024 EPCOT Food and Wine Festival You know we LOVE the EPCOT Festivals! And, with its focus on a few of our favorite things, the EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival will always have an extra-special place in our hearts. This year’s EPCOT Food & Wine Festival is scheduled to run from August 27th through November 21st, 2026, and we’re already daydreaming about all of the incredible flavors we’re going to try! We want to make sure you have the BEST time at this year’s event, so we’re sharing the seven Food & Wine hacks that work every time! DISCLOSURE: This post may contain affiliate links, meaning when you click the links and make a purchase, we receive a commission. Share Dishes to Try More There is SO much to eat and drink around the EPCOT Food & Wine Festival! For reference, at the 2025 event, there were a total of 30 Marketplace Food Booths located throughout the park, meaning there are literally HUNDREDS of festival food items to choose from! Mexico Booth at Food & Wine Festival 2025 With so many different options, you might wonder how you’ll find the space in your stomach — or budget — to get everything on your must-try list… which is exactly why this tip is so helpful! Considering the overwhelming number of dishes available, we’ll often split our festival food with other people in our party. Flavors From Fire Booth Food & Wine Festival 2025 Sharing will allow you to save some of your appetite for other dishes, and, as long as the people you’re traveling with are on the same page, you can also take turns buying to stretch your budget farther! Divide & Conquer Speaking of sharing, if you’ve got your eye on items from two different booths that are relatively close to each other, you can wait in one line and have your friend wait in the other to save time. French onion soup style dumplings at the EPCOT Food and Wine Festival This tip can be extra helpful during times that the food booth lines tend to get particularly long, like at peak meal times, weekends, holidays, the first day of the festival, etc. The line for the Italy Booth Just make sure you’ve got a plan for where to meet up when you’ve both grabbed your dishes, in case your hands are too full to call or text! Budget With a Gift Card We know from experience that the cost of eating and drinking around the festival food booths can sneak up on you FAST. When we want to stick to a specific budget, our go-to hack is to buy a Disney gift card to use for our Food & Wine purchases, so we can make sure we don’t overspend. Get your Disney Gift Cards! The food booths all accept Disney gift cards as payment (barring any unexpected system outages, which are rare but have happened temporarily in the past!), so you can easily make sure you don’t go over budget by only using your gift card for your festival purchases. Plus, the remaining balance is typically printed on the bottom of the receipt, so you can keep track of how much you have left with no manual calculations needed! Disney gift cards! You can buy Disney gift cards at the park, or as an extra budgeting bonus, you can also find them at several retailers at a discount, which is basically free money for your trip! For example, Sam’s Club will occasionally offer savings on Disney gift cards for members. Sam’s Club sometimes has discounted Disney gift cards Shop at Sam’s Club Also, Target Circle Card holders can typically save 5% on many third-party gift cards, including Disney! Disney Gift Cards! Snagging a discounted Disney gift card makes this Food & Wine budgeting hack a one-two punch! Shop Disney Gift Cards at Target Get Hot Dishes Early or Late in the Day Even though the majority of the event is technically during the fall season, don’t be fooled — the temperatures can still be super steamy during the Food & Wine Festival, especially if you’re there during August or September! When the heat and humidity are still hanging around, we plan our day so we can get any hot dishes on our must-try list like soups, pot pies, etc., either right when the booths open or at the end of the day when the sun (and hopefully temperature) has gone down. Cheddar and Bacon Soup As delicious as these dishes are, it can definitely take away from the enjoyment when you’re eating them in the midday heat. During those peak temperature times, we typically opt for items that are frozen, chilled, or at least not served steaming hot! Guinness Baileys Coffee Shake in 2023 Take a look at the weather forecast as your trip gets closer and adjust your festival plans accordingly! Bring a Tray Have you seen pictures of EPCOT guests huddled around a trash can, using it as a makeshift table? This situation isn’t as rare as you might think (and we’ve definitely been there ourselves)! There are limited tables available around the park, and it can be tough to find an empty one, especially on busy days & peak meal times. Festival tables get PACKED on busy days & peak meal times! Having a tray can be super helpful both for carrying your dishes and for use as a makeshift table when the crowds are at their peak. You can find some budget-friendly options online before your trip, like this 8-Pack of Serving Trays from Amazon. The trays are 15 inches by 10 inches, so you can slide them right into your backpack, stroller, or tote bag! ©Amazon Our tray has saved us from disaster countless times, especially when we’re buying multiple items from the same booth. We’ve seen what can happen when people try to juggle multiple food dishes and drinks while searching for a table — spoiler alert: the EPCOT pavement often ends up eating well in those situations! Shop Trays on Amazon Bring a Refillable Water Bottle Speaking of things we bring from home, a refillable water bottle is one of our non-negotiable park bag essentials! Of course, with the Florida heat and humidity, plus all of the walking we do around Disney World, we always suggest having a refillable water bottle on hand. But that suggestion goes double when it comes to the Food & Wine Festival! Water Bottle Most of the EPCOT festival food booths don’t have free water available like the quick service restaurants typically do, so you’ll want to have your own water on hand to stay hydrated. Pack your water bottle! Plus, you can even add an extra Disney touch with your water bottle choice! We love our Owala Disney Princess Water Bottle because it’s just the right amount of Disney to rep our favorite characters, but still subtle enough that we use it outside of the theme parks all the time! ©Amazon There are tons of different designs to choose from, including Rapunzel, Ariel, Belle, Tiana, and Moana-themed options. Each of them features the princess’s signature color scheme, plus a small icon that references them, like a lantern for Rapunzel, or a seashell for Ariel. Find it on Amazon Map Out Your Must-Try Items Ahead of Time As we mentioned before, there are literally HUNDREDS of different menu items available at the Food & Wine Festival booths. That’s why it’s important to have a plan before you start making your way around the booths! Full spread at the Festival Favorites booth! We know all too well how easy it is to get excited and stop by the very first booth you pass, and then the second, and then the third… But if you just go all-out at the first booths you pass, you’ll probably end up being out of room and/or budget to get your “dream dishes” when you pass them later. Pineapple Cheesecake That’s why we suggest doing your research ahead of time! Take a look at the menus for the booths and check out our reviews to see what items you think deserve a spot on your must-try list. Having a handful of dishes that you know you definitely want to get will help make sure you don’t miss out on anything big, plus it can help you decide whether or not to stop by some of the other booths you’re on the fence about as you make your way through the festival. Belgian Waffle with Berry Compote We publish reviews of ALL the dishes at every Food & Wine Festival booth, so you can cross-reference our notes to see what sounds perfect for your palate! Hawai’i Spread We also share a list of our festival favorites each year for a quick view of the highlights. Here’s a look at what made the list of our favorite items from the 2025 Food & Wine Festival! As usual, we’ll be at the first day of the Food & Wine Festival to try ALL the dishes and report back with full reviews on everything, so stick with us at DFB for our favorite — and not-so-favorite — items from the 2026 festival! 9. Today is a big day at Disney World, because EPCOT will look totally different soon with the closure of a popular attraction. Soarin’ Around the World Soarin’ Around the World is officially closed at EPCOT! But don’t worry, it’s because a NEW version of the ride is coming soon. Soarin’ Around the World closed on May 14th so the attraction could be converted to Soarin’ Across America. Soarin’ Around the World isn’t gone for good, but Disney hasn’t announced when it will return to EPCOT just yet. Soarin’ Across America may be a limited-run for Cool Kid Summer, ending on September 8th, or it could last into the fall or winter season. We’ll be sure to keep you updated on when Soarin’ Around the World will come back! Soarin’ Around the World Seating Between now and May 25th, Disney will be hard at work switching Soarin’ Around The World over to a brand-new version, Soarin’ Across America. According to permits filed by Walt Disney Imagineering, the week-and-a-half-long closure will notably involve installing set elements. This likely means the signage out front of the ride will be updated to reflect the changes. When we stopped by Soarin’ today, we saw that the signpost has been covered in blue with white stars, with a new red-and-white banner on top! So patriotic! Soarin’ Across America will celebrate the 250th Anniversary of the U.S.! This brand-new version of Soarin’ will soar riders across both coasts of the U.S., highlighting some of the country’s iconic landscapes and cityscapes. Locations you’ll visit include New York Harbor, the Grand Canyon, Mount Rushmore, and the New England coastline. Soarin’ Across America will officially open on May 26th at EPCOT in Florida. ©Disney While we’re sad to see Soarin’ Around the World go, we can’t wait to ride the new Soarin’ Across America. 11. Summertime at Disney World is here, which means it’s time to start getting ready for Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party! 2025 Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party map The official dates for the 2026 Halloween party have been announced, and you can now book the days you wanna go! The question is…what days should those be? If you’re planning on going to MNSSHP this year, we didn’t put together a list of the dates you should go on, but rather a list of the dates you should NOT go on! Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party is a VERY popular ticketed event where guests can celebrate spooky season at Magic Kingdom. People go for the exclusive entertainment, scary good snacks, limited-time experiences, exclusive merchandise, and, of course, the trick-or-treating around the park. A sign in front of Magic Kingdom! The Halloween party runs on select nights from August 7th to October 31st this year, with ticket prices varying based on the date. There are a lot of dates for you to choose from within the three months. However, we do believe there are dates that you should avoid. Halloween in Magic Kingdom First, let’s look at the full list of dates and their prices. You’ll find the list below: August August 7th – $159 August 11th – $119 August 14th- $119 August 18th – $129 August 21st – $139 August 23rd – $139 August 25th – $144 August 28th – $149 August 30th- $149 Halloween at Magic Kingdom September September 1st – $149 September 4th – $154 September 8th – $154 September 11th – $159 September 13th – $159 September 15th – $164 September 18th – $169 September 20th – $169 September 22nd – $169 September 24th – $174 September 25th – $179 September 27th – $179 September 29th – $184 Mickey’s Not So Scary! October October 1st – $189 October 2nd – $199 October 4th – $199 October 6th – $199 October 8th – $204 October 9th – $209 October 13th – $209 October 15th – $214 October 16th – $219 October 18th – $219 October 22nd – $219 October 23rd – $224 October 25th – $224 October 27th – $224 October 29th – $224 October 31st – SOLD OUT Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party We think based on the dates listed, the ones you should avoid are October 8th through October 29th. Firstly, the end of October is by far the busiest time. Everyone loves to come during the actual Halloween season. Secondly, those dates are a lot pricier than they have been in any other year. 2024 Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party Map The party nights have a lot to offer guests, with entertainment being the headliner. We love seeing the Cadaver Dans and their scary good singing. Of course, the big events are the Boo To You Parade and Disney’s Not-So-Spooktacular Fireworks! Boo To You Parade Stitch will also be there this year, hosting a new dance party at the Rockettower Plaza Stage in Tomorrowland. He’s going to be joined by his friends Lilo and Angel as they celebrate Halloween with all the guests. 15. When you think of Disney World food, you probably don’t think of croissants, but we can confidently say that Disney World has a croissant for everyone. Whether you’re looking for a croissant sandwich, a peanut butter and jelly croissant, or even a cookie dough croissant, Disney has one! Cookie Butter Croissant So when we saw that Disney released a new Cookie Butter Croissant, we had to try it! Because the only thing better than a croissant is a yummy Biscoff cookie. The Cookie Butter Croissant is $6.49 at the Everything Pop Food Court. It’s a classic croissant stuffed with cookie butter and marshmallow cream, then topped with vanilla icing and crushed Biscoff cookie pieces. Cookie Butter Croissant The croissant is super flaky, even with the massive amount of cream. The cookie butter cream is thick, with a spiced sweetness just like regular cookie butter! The marshmallow filling is soft and gooey. This was absolutely stuffed with filling, leaving lots of rich cream with every bite. The vanilla icing on top was sweet and tangy, reminiscent of cinnamon roll icing, which complemented the cinnamon and spices of the cookie butter. Cookie Butter Croissant We’d recommend this to any cookie butter fan, but it’s a great sweet treat even if you’re not the biggest cookie butter fan. Combined with the vanilla and marshmallow flavors, the cookie butter isn’t too strong. Our only caveat is that because there’s so much filling, it’s not ideal for messy eaters, so we’d recommend grabbing a fork and knife with it! Everything Pop We loved this new croissant at the Pop Century Resort. Stay tuned to Disney Food Blog for more Disney World food reviews! 16. When it comes to finding great dining, Disney Springs probably can’t be beat. Plus, the shopping and dining district has a little something for everyone, including a first class wine bar (with equally great food), a gourmet chocolate shop, a donut shop, and more. Pork Belly Bahn Mi When it comes to quick-service restaurants in Disney Springs, we’re big fans of The Polite Pig, which does BBQ dishes just beautifully. However, this month, The Polite Pig decided to change things up a bit and has a special sandwich dish to celebrate Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month. So we headed to The Polite Pig to check it out. The Polite Pig just dropped a new Chef Special, the Pork Belly Bánh Mì with three-pepper cherry glazed bulgogi pork belly, spicy pickled veggies, and baby arugula on a toasted baguette. It’s served with an Asian Noodle Salad with lo mein, shiitake mushrooms, napa cabbage, shaved red onion, and soy ginger vinaigrette. So you get a sandwich AND noodles for $23! The sandwich Let’s start with the Pork Belly Bánh Mi, which we expected to be kinda’ Americanized in a BBQ way, but it wasn’t. It’s not exactly a traditional bánh mi, but it’s close. You’ve got pork belly that’s crunchy on the outside and tender inside. The arugula, pickled carrots, and pickled jalapeños add some nice texture, plus the jalapeños add a hint of spice that works well with the sweet glaze on the meat. The bread, though, was a little chewy and hard to bite through. SO tasty The Asian Noodle Salad is a cold noodle salad with a nice kick offered by the pickled carrots and some dry spices. The noodles were thick and doughy, and were a great side for a hot day. Asian Noodle Salad So is it worth $23? Well, we didn’t think so, but at the same time, you DO get a side with the sandwich. It is a nice, unique offering in Disney Springs, so if that’s what you’re looking for, you might want to order it. We’ll keep an eye out for more new food in Disney World, so stay tuned to DFB for more reviews. REVIEW: Sorry, Cake Bake Shop! 18. A lot is happening behind the scenes at Walt Disney World right now, and your resort stay could look a little different depending on when you visit. Beach Club From pool closures to full-scale refurbishments, Disney has quietly confirmed a wave of updates affecting nearly a dozen properties across the resort. If you’ve got a trip on the books, this is exactly the kind of information you want in your back pocket before you arrive. Here’s a full breakdown of what’s new, what’s ongoing, and what to expect at each location. Newly Announced Updates All-Star Movies Resort All-Star Movies is entering a refurbishment window starting in late May 2026 and running through the end of January 2027. Disney hasn’t shared specifics on exactly what’s getting the refresh, but if you’re booked at this value resort during that stretch, it’s worth keeping an eye out for any updates closer to your travel dates. All-Star Movies Grand Floridian Resort and Spa Big news for Grand Floridian fans: the Grand Floridian Cafe will temporarily close for a refresh from mid-July through October 2026. The good news is that brunch won’t disappear entirely. It’s just moving over to Citricos for the duration. All other dining spots at the resort will stay open, so your options are still solid even while the renovation is underway. Ongoing construction in select areas, including the covered entrance, is also expected to continue through early 2027. Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort and Spa Saratoga Springs Resort and Spa Saratoga Springs has a layered situation going on. Refurbishment work across different areas, including the Treehouse Villas, will continue through mid-September 2026. The Turf Club Lounge will be closed from mid-April through early August, though the Bar and Grill will stay open with a pop-up bar and modified menu to keep things running. Then, in early August, the Turf Club Patio closes, and by mid-August, the Bar and Grill itself closes for a stretch through early September, with the Lounge reopening to pick up the slack. It’s a rolling closure situation, so the experience will vary depending on exactly when you’re visiting. Disney’s Saratoga Springs Ongoing Updates Animal Kingdom Lodge Refurbishment work at Kidani Village is wrapping up, running now through May 2026. After that, attention turns to Jambo House, where work will run from May 2026 through January 2027. If you’re planning a stay and want to choose between the two buildings, timing matters. Animal Kingdom Lodge Beach Club Resort Visible exterior maintenance is underway at Beach Club and will continue through late 2027. For those planning a visit in the near term, the Tidal leisure pool will also be closed through early May for routine maintenance. Bleach Club BoardWalk Inn BoardWalk is in the middle of a multi-area refurbishment running now through late 2026. Disney hasn’t laid out a specific project list, but guests can expect some areas to look a little rough around the edges while work is in progress. Boardwalk Inn Contemporary Resort This one’s got a few moving parts. Refurbishments are ongoing in select areas, including Bay Lake Tower and the main A-frame atrium, running now through late 2027. The Bay Cove Pool, water play area, and whirlpool spa at Bay Lake Tower are currently closed through early May, though the Bay Lake Pool, the Cove Bar, the feature pool, and the main water play area remain open. There’s also exterior elevator landing repair work happening at Bay Lake Tower, which means the Skyway Bridge connecting Bay Lake Tower to the Contemporary Main Tower is closed Monday through Friday from 9 AM to 5 PM. It reopens daily after 5 PM and stays available on evenings and weekends. Bay Cove Pool construction sign Fort Wilderness Campground Construction near the Meadow Swimmin’ Pool area is continuing through mid-2026. Both the Meadow and Wilderness Swimmin’ Pools remain open, but seating around the Meadow pool may be limited, and guests should expect to see and hear some activity nearby. Meadow Swimmin’ Pool Port Orleans Resort Riverside Guest room refurbishments are happening throughout the resort in different phases, and this one has a long runway: work continues through August 2027. If you’re booking here, it’s business as usual for the most part, with some noise and activity possible depending on where your room lands. Port Orleans Riverside Wilderness Lodge and Copper Creek Villas and Cabins Exterior refurbishment at Wilderness Lodge is continuing through late 2026, with the security kiosk expanding from late March through mid-October. The entrance stays open, though lane closures may pop up occasionally. Wilderness Lodge Yacht Club Resort Exterior maintenance at Yacht Club is ongoing through late 2026, and the Admiral leisure pool was closed starting in mid-January and will remain closed through early May. Guests may also need to navigate alternate paths of travel while work is active. Yachtsman Steakhouse is also closing in May 2026 for a refresh, with a target reopening by August 2026. If a steakhouse dinner is on your Disney itinerary, plan around that window. Disney’s Yacht Club Polynesian Village Resort There’s a lot happening at the Polynesian right now. The boat dock closed on May 11th for routine maintenance and will remain closed through late June, with boat transportation suspended until June 5th. During that window, guests can reach Magic Kingdom and the Grand Floridian via the monorail or the walking path between the resorts. Beyond the dock, construction is ongoing in select areas of the Polynesian Village Resort and the Polynesian Villas and Bungalows, with Disney confirming that work is expected to continue through 2026. Guests should expect to see and hear construction activity starting at 9 AM daily. Exterior sections of the resort are also getting attention, which means views of Seven Seas Lagoon from certain spots, including ‘Ohana, may be partially or fully obstructed. If catching the fireworks is on your list, your best bet is an earlier dinner reservation and then heading down to the beach to watch from there. The dock is closed! The Bottom Line Twelve properties, one very long list of updates. The good news is that Walt Disney World is being fairly transparent about what’s happening and when, which gives you the chance to plan around closures, adjust expectations, or simply book with your eyes open. In most cases, the bulk of the resort experience stays intact even during active refurbishment. But knowing about a closed pool or a favorite restaurant going dark for a few months can make a real difference in how you plan your trip. 19. When guests step into Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, they’re transported to Batuu — a remote outpost where every sight, sound, and detail helps tell the story. And one of the most flavorful ways that story comes to life is through dishes that feel like they came straight from the Black Spire Outpost. Behind the scenes, Chef Maria Colon Cabrera, head chef for Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, helps shape the guest experience by making sure every bite feels like it belongs on Batuu — from ingredients and color to the way a dish is plated and named. As the Star Wars universe continues to grow, including the upcoming Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu, Chef Maria and her team keep asking the same question: What would you really eat in a bustling galactic marketplace? A Disney Journey that Grew with the Galaxy As a second-generation cast member, Maria’s path began long before Batuu welcomed its first travelers. Both of her parents built fulfilling Disney careers before retiring from the company. “Knowing my parents are proud means everything to me. Leading a team here and creating something so meaningful feels incredibly full circle,” Maria shared. She never expected her career would lead her to help guide the culinary team at Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge where she balances creativity, storytelling, and her craft in a place where even a garnish can be part of the world-building. “Joining the opening team for Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge was unlike anything I’ve ever experienced,” Maria said. “As a Star Wars fan, seeing it built from the ground up, from dirt to props to menus, was truly a once in a lifetime thing.” Supporting her every step of the way is her wife, Olivia, whom she met while they were both working at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Today, Olivia continues her own Disney journey as a leader at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park. Food as Storytelling on Batuu Menu development often starts with dozens of ideas, then gets refined through tastings and story conversations. The team considers what guests already love, what might be served in a galactic outpost on the edge of Wild Space, and how small changes can transform familiar comfort food into something that feels right at home on Batuu. Sometimes that means using color in unexpected ways. Sometimes it means rethinking ingredients to reduce waste. And sometimes it means adding a twist that makes guests pause and snap a photo before taking a bite. “Pot roast, carrots, and potatoes are classic comfort food,” Maria said. “But what’s the Batuu twist? Add turmeric for a warm golden color. Suddenly it looks like something you’d find in a trader’s stall in Black Spire Outpost. Food is a big part of the story at Galaxy’s Edge. If it doesn’t make sense for Batuu, it doesn’t belong.” Chef Maria with one of her dishes, the Shaak Pot Roast with Kublag Mash:  Birria pot roast with turmeric-garlic mash and roasted carrots  Collaboration Beyond the Kitchen One of the most rewarding parts of Maria’s role has been collaborating with Lucasfilm, ensuring that dishes not only look and taste right, but also align with the broader Star Wars universe. “It’s an honor,” she said. “We’re continuing the story they envisioned for Batuu through food.” That collaboration can extend to naming dishes, refining presentation, and adjusting the small details that keep Batuu authentic to the universe. And for fans, it’s especially fun when something you’ve tasted in the parks feels like it could be right at home alongside your favorite characters on screen. Leading with Curiosity and Care For Maria, leadership is as important as creativity. Many of the cast members on her team who helped open Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge are still creating and learning together today. She takes pride in helping cast grow their skills, try new ideas, and bring their own backgrounds and perspectives to the land. “You don’t know your potential until you try,” she said. “Don’t be afraid of making mistakes. Learn from them and be better than you were yesterday. The best storytelling happens when many voices help shape the experience.” That mindset reflects not only her leadership style, but also her own journey from a part-time cook to helping lead one of the most immersive culinary teams at Walt Disney World. As guests celebrate Star Wars stories on screen and in the parks, Chef Maria and her team will keep doing what they do best behind the scenes: creating flavors that feel authentic to Batuu — and making the galaxy taste a little closer than ever. 21. Walt Disney World is certainly known for its iconic attractions, dining, entertainment, and resorts, all packed with the signature storytelling you’ve come to know and love. Yet beyond the parks lies a diverse lineup of golfing experiences for players of all ages and skills levels, where every swing, putt, and tee time feels truly above par. From championship fairways surrounded by Florida’s natural beauty to playful mini golf adventures infused with Disney charm, there are plenty of ways to fit a round into your next Disney World vacation. Whether I’m squeezing in some swings between battles on Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin and a toast inside The Beak and Barrel, Disney World offers multiple ways to play, each with its own unique blend of challenge and charm. Grab your clubs and your favorite brand of golf balls and get ready to head to the first tee. But before you go, here’s a closer look at the golf courses and mini golf locations you can explore across Disney World. Golfing Across Disney World Disney’s Magnolia Golf Course Disney’s Palm Golf Course Disney’s Lake Buena Vista Golf Course Disney’s Oak Trail Golf Course Winter Summerland Miniature Golf Fantasia Gardens and Fairways Miniature Golf More Ways to Enjoy Golf at Walt Disney World Tee Off at Disney’s Magnolia Golf Course Named after the sweeping magnolia trees surrounding you in the greenery of the Florida landscape, Disney’s Magnolia Golf Course is a relaxing getaway on your next Disney World golfing trip with family, friends, co-workers, or fellow Disney fans. Before heading to Magic Kingdom for late-night attractions and nighttime entertainment, swing by Magnolia for 18 holes and enjoy a blend of traditional course design with creative Disney storytelling. Known for its towering trees, wide fairways, dozens of sand bunkers, and challenging water hazards (11 of 18 holes boast them), each hole at the Magnolia features a Disney-themed name borrowed from a classic Disney storyline or character, paired with a quote from either Walt Disney or Arnold Palmer. This course stretches across 7,505 yards, and along the way, be sure to grab a bite or drink at Chip ‘n’ Dale’s Deli (adjacent to the course putting green) or at select Disney character-themed refreshment carts roving around the course. Plan to arrive at least 30 minutes prior to your tee time in order to enjoy the full Disney Golf experience, including a nice warm-up with some stretching on our full-service driving ranges. Before stepping into the first tee box at Magnolia to pull off your best McIlroy impression, here’s some additional key information to know: What To Know About Disney’s Magnolia Golf Course Location? 1950 West Magnolia Palm Drive, Lake Buena Vista, Florida 32830. What’s Nearby? Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort, Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, and Magic Kingdom Park. Required Attire? Grumpy’s Gauntlet at Disney’s Magnolia Golf Course Recently, four fully reimagined holes debuted at Disney’s Magnolia Golf Course, collectively known as Grumpy’s Gauntlet. Located near the tail end of the back nine, Magnolia holes No. 14, 15, 16, and 17 present a challenging, Disney-inspired test of your skills as you wind down your round and make your way back toward the clubhouse. Each of these holes demands strategic club selection and precise, yet confident putting to navigate your way around massive bunkers, tricky doglegs, and some of the course’s most undulated greens. Take a look at each of the four holes below, including my personal favorite No. 14, and don’t forget to share a selfie with Grumpy’s statue when you arrive at the teeing ground. Holes to Play in Grumpy’s Gauntlet No. 14 (Par 4) – The Backside of Water [506 yards from the back tees] No. 15 (Par 5) The Dinglehopper [597 yards from the back tees] No. 16 (Par 4) An Element of Fun [456 yards from the back tees] No. 17 (Par 3) The Big Green [231 yards from the back tees] Completed the gauntlet and looking to commemorate your round? Be sure to customize and print out your very own certificate as a testament of your perseverance on GolfWDW.com! Swing Away at Disney’s Palm Golf Course Next to Disney’s Magnolia Golf Course, Disney’s Palm Golf Course invites you to swing, drive, chip, and putt your way through 18 holes set within the natural landscape of Central Florida’s woodlands. This course was redesigned in 2013, introducing entirely new green complexes, reshaped tree lines, and a refreshed bunker design that brought a modern edge to this historic layout. Measuring 6,840 total yards from the blue tees, this 18-hole championship golf course weaves together scenic lakes, towering palm trees, tropical sands, and sloping greens; in fact, water hazards come into play on nine holes, while 59 bunkers across the property demand careful shot selection and a creative gameplan from casual golfers and seasoned pros alike. Strong iron play and a confident driver are key to scoring well under par on Palm, which features four par 5s across its 18 holes. A huge reward for players who balance power with precision and creativity, get ready to earn a green jacket of your own in a scenic setting that can only be found at Walt Disney World. What To Know About Disney’s Palm Golf Course Location? 1950 West Magnolia Palm Drive, Lake Buena Vista, Florida 32830. What’s Nearby? Book a Tee Time at Disney’s Lake Buena Vista Golf Course Tucked away near Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa, Disney’s Lake Buena Vista Golf Course offers an 18-hole championship design that blends a classic course layout with scenic views of Central Florida waterways. Soon, this course is set to be enhanced even further with upgrades (including renovated greens, chipping area modifications, upgraded irrigation systems, and new drainage systems) coming this summer, all aimed to elevate the playability and course conditioning across The Happiest Place on Turf. A former home to several big-time events over the years on the PGA Tour, the LPGA Tour, and during USGA events, this course measures 6,718 yards from the championship tees, winding through rolling fairways, mature pine trees, and a picturesque lake setting that comes into play on several holes. Precise shot-making is heavily rewarded on this course for experienced golfers, yet it remains &very playable an especially well-suited for more inexperienced players easing into an 18-hole round. Another great part about this course? The ideal proximity to Disney Springs, making it easy to transition from the fairways to shopping, dining, or an evening stroll around the marketplace once the round has wrapped up. Before heading over to Disney Springs for a drink at Jock Lindsey’s Hangar Bar or a dinner reservation at Summer House on the Lake, learn more about this dynamic setting: What To Know About Disney’s Lake Buena Vista Golf Course Location? 2200 Golf Drive, Lake Buena Vista, Florida 32830. What’s Nearby? Disney Springs, Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa, Disney’s typhoon Lagoon Water Park, and Disney’s Old Key West Resort. Required Attire? Perfect Your Iron Play at Disney’s Oak Trail Golf Course A 9-hole walking course with rolling greens and exciting challenges, Disney’s Oak Trail Golf Course is ideal for quicker gameplay and fast competition. This course’s short layout makes it an appealing option for golfers looking to play without the length and time commitment of an 18-hole course, situated right next to Magnolia. Oak Trail is a great option for young families heading to Disney World for a fun daytime outing, featuring junior tees for younger golfers. Holes on this course range from 132 to 517 yards from the white tees, while holes No. 5, 6, and 7 are located near a deep canal and a picture-perfect pond. As you make your way around this walking-only course, keep an eye out for some of Central Florida’s most recognizable wildlife. The course is part of the Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary Program, meaning golfers may spot native species such as turkeys, armadillos, deer, ospreys, and hawks, all while playing through a setting designed to support and preserve natural habitats. What To Know About Disney’s Oak Trail Golf Course Location? 1950 West Magnolia Palm Drive, Lake Buena Vista, Florida 32830. What’s Nearby? Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort, Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, and Magic Kingdom Park. Required Attire? Golfers may wear shoes with metal spike alternatives, or tennis shoes. Proper golf attire is also required; denim is not permitted. Carts? Not available at this location. Pull carts can be rented as an alternative. Pro Shop and Rentals? Available at this location for both right- and left-handed golfers. Reservations and Tee Times: Click here. FootGolf at Disney’s Oak Trail Golf Course A dynamic fusion of soccer and golf, FootGolf is exclusively offered at Disney’s Oak Trail Golf Course for guests of all ages. Instead of clubs, players kick a regulation-sized soccer ball across the golf course, aiming to score eagles or birdies (or potentially even an albatross for some former soccer players) on shortened length holes with 21-inch diameter cups. Rules are very similar to the rules of golf, including traditional scoring and golf course features such as bunkers and hazards that create a fun experience for families looking to get outdoors on their family trip to Disney World. Ready to dive into this unique sport? Here’s some things to know about the experience at Oak Trail: Tee times can be booked to play 9 holes of FootGolf either in front of or behind those playing a traditional round of 9-hole golf on Tuesday, Wednesday, Saturday, or Sunday afternoons. For a group of four, expect a 9-hole round to take approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes. No soccer cleats! Stick with traditional shoes you’d wear on a golf course. Sink Some Putts at Winter Summerland Miniature Golf Located in the resort area near Disney’s Animal Kingdom and Blizzard Beach, Winter Summerland is the perfect escape from a jam-packed agenda across Walt Disney World, blending family-friendly mini golf with signature Disney fun. There is a ton of lore behind this mini golf course. Late one Christmas Eve as Santa Claus was flying back to the North Pole, he discovered snow in Florida. After scanning this peculiar sight, he decided to build a vacation paradise for his off-duty elves, who constructed two distinctly different golf course experiences: the sandy Summer Course and the snow-filled Winter Course. While the weather may fluctuate from time-to-time in Central Florida, the result of Santa’s offseason project was two distinctly different mini golf experiences. Visiting this location many times as a kid, I would certainly recommend adding this to your Disney World itinerary for a nice break away from the parks if you have toddlers, preschoolers, tweens, and teens in your travel group! What To Know About Winter Summerland Miniature Golf Location? 1548 W Buena Vista Drive, Lake Buena Vista, Florida 32830. What’s Nearby? Disney’s Blizzard Beach Water Park, Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort, and Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park. Reservations and Tee Times: Walk-ups available or call (407) WDW-PLAY. The Summer Course If flip flops and tank tops are more your style, enjoy fun in the sun amid surfboards, sandcastles, and ornaments hanging from palm trees in a beach-themed wonderland at the 18-hole Summer Course. Along the way, putt around peppermint-striped inner tubes and snapping clamshells, while trying to secure the lowest overall score in your group by the end of the round. Tread lightly as you prepare for your last putt on No. 18 – you do not want to wake up a sleeping Santa buried in the sand at this tropical golfing destination! The Winter Course As a lover of the holidays myself, I’ve always enjoyed a little “Christmas in July,” per se. Add that in with my love of sports, and you’ve got the perfect cost-friendly addition to my own Disney World vacation. Putt your way toward the North Hole on the 18-hole Winter Course while dodging sprays from Squirty the Snowman, who gleefully sprays water at players when golf balls pass beneath him. Additional obstacles include giant peppermints, hockey sticks, and a melting castle, challenging players to overcome adversity amongst the wintry fun. With a putter at your side and jolly vibes all around, this course is a perfect midday golfing escape for athletic youngsters looking to kick in their competitive instincts in a snow-filled wonderland. Mark Your Scorecard at Fantasia Gardens and Fairways Miniature Golf Inspired by the magic, music, and might of Walt Disney Animation Studios’ Fantasia and located just steps from the EPCOT Area Resorts at Walt Disney World, Fantasia Gardens and Fairways Miniature Golf offers two distinct 18-hole courses: one designed for family-friendly fun and another offering a scaled-down test for more competitive golfing groups. Iconic moments from the film come to life at the Fantasia Gardens Miniature Golf Course through clever obstacles, fanciful fountains, musical theming, and intricate details. Along the way, spot five whimsical scenes featuring the mysterious Yen Sid, tutu-clad hippos, pirouetting ostriches, and marching broomsticks ready to douse golfers who pass by. Meanwhile, sand traps, water hazards, and sloping greens make the Fantasia Fairways Miniature Golf Course an exciting challenge for more experienced putters, with par-3 and par-5 holes ranging from 63 to 109 feet long. This layout might be the most “difficult” mini golf course at Walt Disney World, presenting a one-of-a-kind putting experiences with nearby views of The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror at Disney’s Hollywood Studios and Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Hotels. What To Know About Fantasia Gardens and Fairways Miniature Golf Location? 1205 EPCOT Resorts Blvd, Lake Buena Vista, Florida 32830. What’s Nearby? Walt Disney World Swan, Walt Disney World Dolphin, Disney’s BoardWalk Inn, Disney’s Yacht Club Resort, Disney’s Beach Club Resort, EPCOT, and Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Reservations and Tee Times: Walk-ups available or call (407) WDW-PLAY. More Ways to Enjoy Golf at Walt Disney World Beyond the fairways and putting greens, Disney World offers even more ways for golfers to sharpen their skills, celebrate marquee moments, and take home a piece of the experience. From professional lessons to commemorative achievements, these additional perks add extra layers to this well-rounded golfing destination. Golfing Lessons at Disney World There’s a ton of additional ways to save and play across Walt Disney World, but one of the things that I really want to do on a future vacation to the resort is to book a golf lesson with a PGA professional! Disney World Golf Lessons range from 45-minute lessons to half-day and full-day golf schools, including video analysis, group lessons, skill development, and more. Keep in mind that your own clubs can always be shipped directly to the resort at reduced prices, allowing you to have convenience and reliability during your next trip. For full details on lesson options and availability, check out all the latest info at GolfWDW.com. Hole in One Club at Disney World As my friends can surely attest to, my iron play can be a little unpredictable at times, but one ultimate golfing goal remains the same: finally marking my first ace and earning a spot in the Hole in One Club at Walt Disney World. This exclusive honor celebrates golfers who have reached a crowning milestone on one of the Disney World courses. Players who card a hole-in-one can celebrate their achievement on GolfWDW.com with a personal certificate and the opportunity to be featured on the website, joining a legacy that spans more than 50 years of Disney golfing history. While visiting, be sure to also visit any of the Walt Disney World Golf Pro shops for all the latest styles and accessories (featuring merchandise exclusive to the Disney World Golf shops with Disney characters like Mickey Mouse, Donald, Duck, Grumpy, and more). Frequent golfers may also want to explore The Player’s Club Pass, available across Walt Disney World golf courses. Whether you’re driving it through the middle of the fairway, enjoying some putting practice on The Greatest Green Ever Played, or battling it out on one of the resort’s mini golf courses, there’s plenty of golfing memories waiting to be created across Walt Disney World. From first tee to final putt, enjoy your next athletic achievement on the greens of Disney World, offering a fresh way to make new vacation memories in Orlando. 22. Okay, it’s a lot to keep up with all the openings, closures, and construction happening in Disney World right now because there are SO many projects going on at once. We’re getting new lands, expansions, new rides, and so much more in three of Disney World’s four parks. Soarin’ Around The World Well, EPCOT has already had its big transformation, and things have been quiet there, but as of today, a popular ride will be closing to make way for a new version, so we wanted to remind you about it. Today is your last day to ride Soarin’ Around the World. When we visited the ride, the current wait time was a whopping 55 minutes. We expect that could go even higher today. A new musical score will accompany the flight, which will also feature a new smell (bring back the orange groves!). ©Disney We’re assuming there might even be a new flight safety introduction with your flight attendant, Patrick. Disney has not confirmed if this will be new, but the announcement for Soarin’ Across America trailer featured our favorite flight attendant front and center. ©Disney If you’re a Disney World Annual Passholder, you can attend a preview for Soarin’ Across America on May 19th and 20th. 25. For most of 2026, the Magic Kingdom has felt more like a massive construction zone than it has Disney World’s premier theme park, between the large sites where Piston Peak and Villains Land will thrill guests in a few years and the recently completed refurbishments of Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin and Big Thunder Mountain. Main Street However, even with these projects, there’s still a lot going of exciting things on at Disney World’s first theme park this June that guests should be aware of. Extended Evening Hours Extended Evening Hours offer two extra hours to guests staying at Disney Deluxe Tier or Deluxe Villa resorts. after the park closes to the general public. The park offered varies by day, with the Magic Kingdom’s June dates being June 3rd, 10th, 17th, and 24th. Evening in the Magic Kingdom After Hours Events Extended Evening Hours aren’t the only way to get extra time in the park during June. These separately ticketed events allow guests to enjoy beloved attractions with lower wait times, and exclusively experience the Disney Enchantment fireworks spectacular, and enjoy snacks, included in the cost of this ticketed event. The Magic Kingdom will play host to After Hours events on June 1st, 22nd, and 29th. After Hours Passholder Perks The V.I.Passholder “summer celebration,” which features limited-time offerings and perks just for Passholders across the resort, will run throughout the full month of June, including the following at the Magic Kingdom: From May 26th – July 31st, Passholders can get 20% off at Be Our Guest Restaurant (lunch only) and The Crystal Palace (lunch and dinner), valid Monday to Thursday only from May 1st through July 31st. A new exclusive popcorn bucket from designer and illustrator Ashley Taylor celebrates all 4 Walt Disney World theme parks and features several characters in their Passholder magnet appearances. They are also available at other sites at Disney World, including the Magic Kingdom Park’s City Hall Popcorn Cart Exclusive V.I.Passholder merchandise, including a Zip-Up Hoodie, a Tee, a Loungefly Crossbody Bag, a Baseball Hat, and even a Corkcicle Canteen, has been available at EPCOT’s Creations Shop since May 1st, and will also be available at the Emporium. Disney World Annual Passholder Popcorn Bucket BONUS: In addition, guests visiting the Magic Kingdom in June can also experience some of the major additions that have debuted at the park in the last several months: April saw the reopening of Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin after a months-long refurbishment. The revamped attraction features new ride vehicles, complete with new, removable blasters, refurbished “Z” targets throughout the ride, and a new opening scene featuring the original robot character named Buddy, which ensures that “departing Space Rangers are fully prepared for their mission (by) enthusiastically providing encouragement, final system checks on their Star Cruisers, and a chance to hone their blaster aim.” The following month, the Big Thunder Mountain Railroad opened after its own year-and-a-half-long refurbishment with updated tracks and trains that “preserve the attraction’s classic storytelling and trademark hootin’ an’ hollerin’ energy” while improving the ride experience. These changes – and a “comprehensive review from their safety teams” have even allowed Disney to lower the ride’s height requirement from 40 inches to 38 inches. May also saw The Diamond Horseshoe – one of the Magic Kingdom’s oldest and longest neglected eateries – come back to life with the Toy Story-themed Jessie’s Roundup show during the Cool Kids Summer promotion. Led by “everyone’s favorite yodelin’ cowgirl” Jessie, guests “craft, dance, and yodel their day away” with Woody and friends in a “high-spirited Western revue!” The show will make the first live entertainment in the Diamond Horseshoe in over two decades. From the Magic Kingdom’s opening in 1971 through 2004, the restaurant – which has alternated between table service and quick service throughout its history – has hosted several incarnations of the Diamond Horseshoe Revue… and Goofy’s Country Dancin’ Jamboree. One of those things is certainly not like the other. Special character meet & greets are also happening during Early Entry as part of the Cool Kids Summer promotion. Big Thunder Mountain Railroad Despite part of the park being a massive construction zone, there’s still a lot going on in the Magic Kingdom this June.
