  2. Your next trip to Magic Kingdom might just be a little bit more magical. Big Thunder Mountain Railroad We’ve been waiting and waiting to ride one of our favorite roller coasters with a brand new refurbishment, and we finally have the reopening date. Hold onto your hat because we’re about to ride the wildest ride in the wilderness! Big Thunder Mountain Railroad is reopening in Magic Kingdom on May 3rd, 2026! ©Disney This attraction closed on January 6th, 2025, with the promise of a refurbishment and a touch of new magic in 2026. We’ve been not-so-patiently waiting, and now another ride is back open in Frontierland. Big Thunder Mountain Railroad construction June 2025 The closure brought a refurbishment to “keep the attraction in tip-top shape, ready to delight guests who want to ride the rails for years to come.” Along with general renovations to keep the ride running smoothly, Rainbow Caverns will be added, and “shimmering and illuminating iridescent” will help bring the mountain to life. ©Disney Disney even teased that there’s even more new magic for guests to discover once the attraction officially reopens. What do you think is coming? I’m hoping for projection mapping like the one at Disneyland. Construction at Big Thunder Mountain Railroad The rest of Frontierland is also undergoing a transformation, including Piston Peak, the Cars-themed land replacing the permanently closed Rivers of America, and Tom Sawyer Island. We don’t have an opening timeline yet, but we’re looking forward to the two Cars attractions. Cars Area Concept Art ©Disney You can’t forget about the Disney Villains land coming, too. While this is placed behind Big Thunder Mountain, it will technically be its own land and not part of Frontierland. Disney hasn’t released too much information on it yet, but we couldn’t be more excited for this brand-new concept. Villains Land ©Disney I’m already dreaming of riding Big Thunder Mountain and seeing the new changes. 3. Staying at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa — for many Disney fans — is the ULTIMATE must-do at least once during a Disney World vacation. If you’ve ever wondered what a stay is actually like, look no further — we’re spilling the tea. Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort As one of Disney’s most luxurious hotels, the Grand Floridian can feel like an elusive bucket-list stay. Packed with Victorian-era theming and amenities and restaurants that are often considered world-class, this hotel can provide a Disney experience unlike anything else around the world. During one of our stays, we were able to enjoy the DVC resort studios (which boasts Mary Poppins theming), and there were some seriously impressive elements that have us itching to book another visit. The Theming is EXTRAORDINARY If you’re a fan of the Mary Poppins franchise, this studio room is a sight to behold. The room! Seriously, folks, it’s incredible how many details Disney was able to fit into this room. The wallpaper in the coffee station features characters from Mary Poppins Returns, and you can even spot tiny umbrellas woven into the design! Coffee station Don’t even get us started with the details of the gold chandelier in the main room. It features small glass birds like the ones Mary interacts with. Chandelier Heck, even the vents in the room got in on the fun with hidden Mickeys and more umbrellas! Hidden Mickey AND umbrellas! The artwork next to the TV and sofa shows what looks like Cherry Tree Lane, with Mary Poppins soaring above. Yet ANOTHER nod to the beloved character! Artwork Oh, and how about some more umbrellas! You can spot them on the nightstand lampshade. Lampshade It’s clear that a lot of love and creativity went into these rooms. The Views Are OUTSTANDING You can get this room facing the theme parks, but urs room had a balcony with a view of the Seven Seas Lagoon — and we had zero complaints! At night, we could even see fireworks from Magic Kingdom! Balcony view We could watch the ferry go across the lagoon and even see the Polynesian Resort from our balcony. AND it only takes 15 to 20 minutes to get from the hotel to Magic Kingdom along a very beautiful route, especially during the sunset. And we could never forget the views of the Electrical Water Pageant! All of these views are seriously tough to beat! Even the Bathroom is Luxurious Gold accents, welcoming and bright tones, and other room features quickly let you know that this isn’t an ordinary stay. Front entryway There’s a lot of gold here, and it’s done in a classy way. The nightstand lamps have a delicate gold trim, and the bathroom mirror is even framed in gold with built-in lighting. THAT MIRROR The bathroom — oh boy, could we talk about the bathroom for hours. The vanity area also sports that brushed gold theme, but you also get some beautiful watercolor artwork. It’s tough to find nicer bathrooms in Disney World. The bathroom The shower is spacious, well-lit, and stocked with Disney’s signature hotel products — and we certainly weren’t left wanting. Water closet In fact, our stay felt more like a high-end spa visit. The Room Is Incredibly Functional It’s one thing for the room to look nice, but it actually functions so well that you might never want to leave! The beds have nightstands on either side, each with outlets and built-in shelves. Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort Room And here’s one of our favorite tidbits — the beds are tall enough for luggage to be stowed underneath! Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort Room You’ll also find a small desk, a foldable sofa daybed, and a mini-fridge — ya know, those hotel room offerings that can really save a trip. Sofa folded down into a bed We felt comfortable during our whole stay, and that’s what matters most. The Resort’s Relaxation Offerings The Grand Floridian is home to a spa, but if you don’t want to shell out for a spa day, you can always unwind FOR FREE by the pool! Grand Floridian The hotel offers two pools — the Beach Pool and the Courtyard Pool. The beach pool is the main pool with a waterslide and waterfalls, while the Courtyard Pool is a quieter option. Grand Floridian Courtyard Pool You can also sit on the beach and relax, well. Grab some beach toys or just take in the sun and get your tan on! Grand Floridian beach Relaxation is the name of the game when it comes to the Grand Floridian. The Dining Options are ELITE Dining is also a specialty at the Grand Floridian. Gasparilla Island Grill is one of our favorite quick-service spots in all of Disney World, and you can spot Cinderella Castle in the distance. Gasparilla Island Grill For people who love lounges, this resort is FULL of them. There are bars at Citricos and Narcoossee’s. The Perch is open now, there’s Enchanted Rose, and pool bars, as well. The Perch If you’re looking to meet some Princes and Princesses, 1900 Park Fare offers buffet dining with Disney characters for both breakfast and dinner. Cinderella You can indulge in a little Afternoon Tea at the Garden View Lounge — themed to Alice in Wonderland! Afternoon Tea Tower Of course, the big Michelin Star restaurant here is Victoria & Albert’s. This AAA five-diamond-rated restaurant is one of the most critically acclaimed restaurants in all of Florida, and a meal here is served by two dedicated servers, and guests are treated to personalized menus. There are a few different dining options in different rooms in the restaurant, but regardless of what you choose, you’re in for a once-in-a-lifetime kind of culinary experience. A new look inside the refurbished restaurant ©Disney If you stay at this hotel, get ready to experience some of the best eats in all of Disney World. The Resort’s Location and Perks We briefly mentioned proximity, but we want to reiterate that the Grand Floridian has a GREAT location. As a Monorail resort, you can hop on a train and be at Magic Kingdom in just a few minutes. BEST OF ALL — YOU GET TO AVOID THE TICKET AND TRANSPORTATION CENTER CROWDS! Monorail at the Grand Floridian We also mentioned the beautiful walking path to Magic Kingdom, which is ideal if you want a bit more privacy and time to take in the sights. It’s a pretty walk Honestly, we’ll never forget our DVC resort studio stay at Disney’s Grand Floridian. Detailed, elegant, sophisticated, relaxing, and oh-so-accommodating, the Grand Floridian remains one of the BEST hotels in all of Disney World. What’s your favorite Disney World hotel? 4. Norway doesn’t get nearly enough credit as a snack destination in EPCOT. Kringla Bakeri og Cafe in the Norway Pavilion Sure, everyone knows about the School Bread and the Lefse, but tucked inside Kringla Bakeri og Cafe is a chocolate chip cookie that honestly might be one of the sleeper hits of the entire World Showcase. We grabbed the Triple Chocolate Chip Cookie for $6.49, and we have some thoughts. What You’re Getting The Triple Chocolate Chip Cookie is exactly what it sounds like, but better than you’re picturing. At $6.49, you’re getting a generously sized, loaded cookie that’s packed with what appears to be a combination of milk chocolate, semi-sweet, and white chocolate chips. Triple chocolate chip cookie from Kringla Bakeri og Cafe The mix isn’t random either. Each type of chocolate brings something different to the table, and together they create a layered chocolate flavor that doesn’t feel one-note or overwhelming. And then there’s the salt. Little flecks of salt on top that completely elevate the whole thing. It sounds simple, but that salty-sweet contrast is doing serious heavy lifting here. How Was It, Really? Really, really good. Like, embarrassingly good for a walk-up bakery cookie in a theme park. Pastry case at Kringla Bakeri og Cafe in the Norway Pavilion The cookie was fresh, gooey, and melty, which we’ll partially credit to the Florida sun doing its thing, but the texture held up in a way that felt intentional. The chocolate flavor was rich without being cloying, and the three-chocolate combination worked together rather than competing. It wasn’t trying too hard, which honestly made it even better. Pastry Case at Kringla Bakeri og Cafe in the Norway Pavilion If you’re someone who has maybe skipped the cookie case at Kringla because you were eyeing the pastries, we’re here to tell you to reconsider. This is a cookie worth making a detour for. One Very Important Practical Note This cookie is messy. Like, commit-to-the-bit messy. You’re going to want a significant stack of napkins before you start eating, or you’ll want to station yourself somewhere near the Norway pavilion restrooms, because cleaning up after this one is part of the experience. Napkins and Utensils at Kringla Bakeri og Cafe in the Norway Pavilion Plan accordingly, and you’ll have no regrets. The Verdict For $6.49, the Triple Chocolate Chip Cookie at Kringla Bakeri og Cafe is one of the better cookie values you’ll find anywhere on Disney property. It’s fresh, it’s indulgent, the chocolate balance is genuinely impressive, and that salt on top makes it feel like someone actually thought about what they were doing when they made it. This isn’t a novelty item or a seasonal limited-time thing; it’s a regular menu item that’s been quietly sitting there waiting for you to notice it. Triple chocolate chip cookie from Kringla Bakeri og Cafe Norway is already worth a stop for the savory options and the School Bread, but now you have one more reason to swing through. Just grab the napkins first. More Recent Reviews! 6. Staying at a Disney World hotel comes with tons of perks! We love the convenient location and transportation, along with access to early booking for Lightning Lanes and dining reservations, and so much more. Of course, just staying in the Disney bubble with gorgeous theming and fantastic service is always an added benefit. Magic Kingdom Early Entry One of our favorite perks is Early Entry, which is where we get extra time in the theme parks, but Disney is making some changes to the program you need to know before you book your hotel. For Early Entry, guests staying at a Disney World Resort Hotel get access to the theme parks 30 minutes early, before the park opens to the public. This includes your check-in and check-out days and is a great way to catch an extra ride or two with the lower crowds. You get Early Entry at: Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort Disney’s All-Star Music Resort Disney’s All-Star Sports Resort Disney’s Art of Animation Resort Disney’s Pop Century Resort The Campsites at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort Pop Century Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort Disney’s Port Orleans Resort – French Quarter Disney’s Port Orleans Resort – Riverside The Cabins at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort Port Orleans French Quarter Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge Disney’s Beach Club Resort Disney’s BoardWalk Inn Disney’s Contemporary Resort Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort Disney’s Wilderness Lodge Disney’s Yacht Club Resort BoardWalk Resort Bay Lake Tower at Disney’s Contemporary Resort Boulder Ridge Villas at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge Copper Creek Villas & Cabins at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge Disney’s Animal Kingdom Villas – Jambo House Disney’s Animal Kingdom Villas – Kidani Village Disney’s Beach Club Villas Disney’s BoardWalk Villas Disney’s Old Key West Resort Disney’s Polynesian Villas & Bungalows Disney’s Riviera Resort Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa The Cabins at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort – A Disney Vacation Club Resort The Villas at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa Skyliner at Disney’s Riviera Resort Walt Disney World Dolphin Hotel Walt Disney World Swan Hotel Walt Disney World Swan Reserve DoubleTree Suites by Hilton Orlando Drury Plaza Hotel Orlando Lake Buena Vista Four Seasons Resort Orlando Hilton Orlando Buena Vista Palace Hilton Orlando Lake Buena Vista Holiday Inn Orlando Renaissance Orlando Resort and Spa Shades of Green at Walt Disney World Resort Signia by Hilton Orlando Bonnet Creek Waldorf Astoria Orlando Wyndham Garden Lake Buena Vista Wyndham Lake Buena Vista Four Seasons May is a big month for Disney World because so many new attractions are opening, which totally changes how we do Early Entry. Let’s take it park by park, so you know which attractions are available. Magic Kingdom We don’t yet have the exact opening date, but Big Thunder Mountain Railroad is set to reopen sometime in early May. We expect this ride to return to the Early Entry list, but since it’s been closed for over a year while they replace the entire track and add new Rainbow Caverns, it’s not officially on the list right now. ©Disney When Big Thunder Mountain Railroad reopens, the ride is going to be popular, so it can be a great choice for Early Entry to get in line before the park officially opens to the public. We also wanted to mention that, even though Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin reopened in April, it is likely to remain a popular choice since it was also closed for a lengthy refurbishment. Buzz Lightyear Space Ranger Spin Here are all the available rides for Early Entry: “it’s a small world” Astro Orbiter Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin Dumbo the Flying Elephant Mad Tea Party Peter Pan’s Flight Prince Charming Regal Carrousel Seven Dwarfs Mine Train Space Mountain The Barnstormer The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh Tomorrowland Speedway Tomorrowland Transit Authority PeopleMover Under the Sea ~ Journey of The Little Mermaid Walt Disney’s Carousel of Progress Hollywood Studios On May 22nd, Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run will get new updates, including the addition of the Mandalorian and Grogu! You’ll also be able to choose which adventure you want to take, and the whole ride should feel like a welcome refresh. Smugglers Run is already a part of Early Entry, but keep in mind that this could be a much busier option. New missions will be added to Millennium Falcon: Smugglers run in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disneyland Resort and Walt Disney World Resort featuring the Mandalorian and Grogu. We also wanted to give a quick shoutout to Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring the Muppets, which is set to reopen this summer. Now, we wouldn’t call May a summer month, and it’s likely Disney would have already announced its opening with the other attractions, but it’s a good one to keep your eye on in case it opens early. ©Disney Walt Disney Studios, the new area replacing Animation Courtyard, will be opening on May 26th. While we don’t expect this to be part of Early Entry, if you want to spend some time in the area, it might be better to use Early Entry for your top attractions to make sure you get those out of the way so you have more time to enjoy Walt Disney Studios later in the day. “Olaf Draws” Concept Art ©Disney The rides currently available for Early Entry are: Alien Swirling Saucers Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring the Muppets — Opening Summer 2026 Slinky Dog Dash Star Tours – The Adventures Continue Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror Toy Story Mania! EPCOT You’ll definitely want to circle May 26th in your calendar because it is a big deal this year! In EPCOT, Soarin’ Across America will open. The current version, Soarin’ Around the World, will close on May 13th, and then the new version will open on the 26th. Since this ride is available during Early Entry, you’ll want to be aware that you can’t go for 14 days, so other attractions may be busier. ©Disney Check out all the rides available: Frozen Ever After Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind Mission: SPACE Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure Soarin’ Around the World Spaceship Earth Test Track The Seas with Nemo & Friends Animal Kingdom Animal Kingdom is currently undergoing a massive transformation, with many attractions closed as the changes are underway. On May 26th (we told you that date would be important!) Bluey’s Wild World will be opening at the Conservation Station. We are not expecting this to be part of Early Entry (most shows and character experiences are not), but you might want to cross off some bigger rides off your list so you have more time to have fun with Bluey and Bingo. Bluey and Bingo Here are the Early Entry rides in Animal Kingdom: Avatar Flight of Passage Expedition Everest Na’vi River Journey Zootopia: Better Zoogether! The best way to stay on top of all of the changes is to keep an eye on the Disney World app. If there are rides you know you’ll want to go on and you have access to Early Entry, you might want to prioritize them. Sometimes, rides don’t open for Early Entry even if they’re scheduled to, so having a backup isn’t a bad idea, either. 7. Starbucks just released new drinks that we had to try! Obviously, we headed to Magic Kingdom‘s Main Street Bakery, because coffee tastes better when walking down Main Street, U.S.A. Iced Mango Cream Matcha These two new Starbucks drinks are available nationwide, so you can grab them at your neighborhood Starbucks, too. Spoiler alert – this purple coffee could change your life, too! First, we tried the Iced Mango Cream Matcha for $6.45. This is Starbucks’ classic Iced Matcha Latte topped with a mango cream cold foam. The mango cold foam was so strong that the matcha wasn’t very present, and it cut the earthiness typically found in a matcha latte. This tasted like a sweet mango with only a small hint of matcha. If you love mango, then we’d strongly recommend this, but if you’re looking for a strong matcha taste, this won’t be your cup of tea. Iced Mango Cream Matcha Next up was the Iced Ube Coconut Macchiato for $6.45. This is espresso, milk, and vanilla topped with ube coconut cream cold foam and coconut flakes. This drink is a lot like your standard Starbucks caramel macchiato with lots of layers, but when we got it, all the layers immediately disappeared. It seems like this is made with a new coconut cold foam and not their standard cold foam, which sank to the bottom very fast! It looks pretty, but if you only get macchiatos for their layers, you probably won’t be a fan of this drink. Iced Ube Coconut Macchiato For the taste itself, the ube adds an awesome purple color, but just a tiny hint of sweetness and not much flavor. The main flavor of the drink is coconut, so it tastes like a coconut latte with a fun, purple presentation. The drink was also thicker than Starbucks lattes usually are, since the coconut cold foam started to mix in the drink itself. We enjoyed the creamy texture, but the thickness might not be for everyone. This was very refreshing and perfect for the warmer months! Iced Ube Coconut Macchiato We loved trying these new Starbucks drinks. Stay tuned to Disney Food Blog for more Disney food reviews! 8. A visit to Singapore could lead you to some incredible eats! Singapore eats! We recently traveled out to Singapore to sail with the Disney Cruise Line’s newest ship — the Disney Adventure –, and we were fortunate enough to do a little bit of exploring (and dining) on the mainland before setting sail. As such, we’re taking you on a little culinary tour of some of the notable dishes we tried in Singapore! Let’s start with some hotel eats! We stayed at the Marina Bay Sands, and breakfast by the pool is a must! Marina Bay Sands We had dumplings, which were perfectly prepared and packed with plenty of filling. They weren’t too spicy, but they had a nice amount of heat. This was absolutely delicious! Dumplings We also tried an açai bowl — and we’re not joking around when we say this might have been one of the best we’ve ever had. It was super creamy, really refreshing, wonderfully fresh and juicy, and oh so memorable. The peanut butter added a nice thickness that really kind of tied the dish together and made it more filling. The dragonfruit was so purple and flavorful — something unlike anything we’ve ever had back in the States. We’re so happy we tried it! Yum! We didn’t have a ton of time to explore, so of course we indulged in a little room service! We got two of the Japanese and Chinese breakfasts (full-service breakfast meals), and they were SO good! The sets came with a coffee of choice AND a juice of choice (we tried freshly squeezed watermelon juice). Each was savory, filling, and comforting (plus they were a great deal and could be split by two people)! Marina Bay Sands At Maxwell Hawker Center, the Hainanese chicken was absolutely incredible! It was actually recommended by Anthony Bourdain at one point on his show, so it’s a pretty popular dish that tourists love to try. The chicken won’t be familiar to a lot of American palates, but it was super juicy and tender. The rice was cooked perfectly — fluffy and filling. The sauce on top was savory and just coated in a really glossy flavor that we loved. If you ever make your way out to Singapore, you’ve gotta try this! Hainanese Chicken and Rice During our brief visit, we made sure to head over to Universal Studios Singapore, where we stopped by Super Hungry Food Stand in the Minions Land, and we tried a few things. Super Hungry Food Stand Stuart’s Japanese Curry Karaage was pretty good! The chicken was pretty chewy and needed more crunch, but it was flavorful and juicy. The curry was nice and spicy (not hot, just flavorful) with lots of veggies that were soft. The curry was aromatic, flavorful, and slightly sweet. We quite liked this! Stuart’s Japanese Curry Karaage The Unlucky Ducky Creamy Chicken Stew weirdly reminded us of chicken pot pie! It was creamy and familiar with lots of veggies and chicken. The chicken was also chewy, and we could see there being a texture issue for others. The little targets were edible (which was neat), but they were colder than we would’ve liked. Unlucky Ducky We also tried the Chili Crab Minion Mantous, and these buns were surprising. We expected them to have filling, but they didn’t! They were light and fluffy, similar to a bao bun but flatter. The crab dip on the side was similar to a sweet and spicy sauce with a subtle crab flavor that really came through in a nice way. Chili Crab Minion Mantou Over in Far Far Away (the Shrek land), we also tried the Shrek Waffle, which was SO tasty. It was just a sweet, vanilla waffle — but it was made fresh to order. It was hot, crispy, and soft on the inside. It also came with your choice of Ben & Jerry’s ice cream on the side (we went with Chunky Monkey). Shrek Waffle And there you have it! 9. When it comes to Disney World’s theme parks, there’s arguably none better known for its dining than EPCOT. From the cross-cultural restaurants of the World Showcase to the park’s annual International Food & Wine Festival, cuisine is arguably its calling card. Galaxy Spritz However, from our experience, the hardest reservation to get in the park isn’t at a restaurant set in one of World Showcase’s eleven themed international pavilions. In fact, it’s not set on Earth at all. Space 220 first opened at the park in September of 2021, and in the nearly 5 years since, the restaurant has become one of EPCOT’s most popular. Space 220 Guests first board a “space elevator” that mimics taking them 220 miles above the Earth to the Centauri Space Station, where they’ll dine. Once seated, the restaurant’s massive panoramic windows — actually screens — provide simulated daytime and nighttime views of the Earth inside the dining area. Not a bad view The restaurant’s menu offers a prix fixe selection — two courses during lunch, three courses for dinner — featuring modern American cuisine. Lunch costs $55 per person, and includes one Lift-Off appetizer… ©Disney … and one Star Course entree. ©Disney For an additional cost, Satellite Sides and Super Nova Sweets are available. ©Disney Moving from lunch to dinner, the cost jumps to $79 a per adult but now includes a Super Nova Sweets dessert. The Lift-Offs…. ©Disney … and Star Course entrees somewhat differ for dinner. ©Disney Dinner also offers some additional supplemental options. ©Disney There are also kids’ menus available for both courses, which cost $29 for lunch and $35 for dinner, as well as a menu of Atmospheric Spirits cocktails… ©Disney … and an array of beers and wine. If you want to know more about Space 220 — or to learn more about any Walt Disney World restaurant — check out our Guide to Disney World Dining, which pulls it all together with information on every eatery so you can stop stressing and focus on the fun without feeling like you’re missing a thing! Like other Disney World restaurants, guests are able to book 60 days beginning at approximately 6:00 AM EST (though you can start refreshing at 5:45 AM EST) online and beginning at 7:00 AM EST over the phone. Of course, if you’re staying at a Disney World hotel, you’ll actually be able to book for the whole duration of your trip (up to 10 days) beginning 60 days before your arrival, so you could conceivably book up to 70 days out. This is key to scoring a table Space 220. However, if you’re unable to snag one, there’s still a way to see the interior of the Centauri Space Station. Space 220 Lounge Space 220 also features a lounge with its own menu of Flight Bites, which has seen a great deal of evolution over the years. ©Disney During our most recent visit, we really enjoyed the Blue Moon Cauliflower, which is made with Tempura-fried Cauliflower, Housemade Hot Sauce, and Bleu Cheese Dust. It had a light, crispy batter on the outside, with saucy cauliflower on the inside, while the buffalo sauce added a nice kick. Blue Moon Cauliflower We paired that with the Gamma Burst Cocktail, which is made with Grey Goose Strawberry and Lemongrass vodka, Midori Melon Liqueur, and Strawberry Popping Pearls. It’s a fruity and tropical concoction that fans of sweet and refreshing cocktails will enjoy. Gamma Burst Of course, no meal is complete without dessert, and we decided to sample the best of all worlds (no, couldn’t resist the pun) by trying the Flight 220 sampler, which currently includes Cosmic Cheesecake (featuring a chocolate mousse base with a chocolate shell ), Cookies and Cream Macaron (a nice and crunchy macaroon filled with a fluffy cookies and cream mousse and a salted caramel filling in the middle), and Strawberry Saturn (a strawberry mousse filling surrounded by a white chocolate shell with a white chocolate ring and strawberry crumble that is light, milky, fluffy, and creamy, almost like eating strawberry milk, that’s what this is like). Flight 220 Whether you’re able to score a full table service reservation for Space 220 or simply check out the lounge, odds are your experience will be out of this world. 13. From fluttering butterflies to buzzing bees and more, pollinators play a powerful role in keeping our planet healthy — and at Disney, they’re getting a little extra love this Earth Month. Around the world, Disney cast members, Imagineers, scientists, and storytellers are coming together to protect pollinators and the habitats they depend on — all part of our Disney Planet Possible commitment to help create a healthier planet for people and wildlife. From long‑term research programs to hands‑on guest experiences (and even honey you can taste), nearly every destination has a pollinator story to tell. So, let’s take a global tour of how Disney is celebrating and supporting these tiny heroes. Local Students Create Pollinator Habitats for Cotino, the first Storyliving by Disney community Pollinator pods planted at Cotino in Rancho Mirage, California In California’s Coachella Valley, local high school students recently took part in hands-on conservation work to support the native desert ecosystem in Rancho Mirage. Through a collaboration between The Living Desert Zoo and Gardens and Cotino, the first Storyliving by Disney residential community, students in the zoo’s Desert Defender Career Exploration Camp created 17 pollinator pods to support local wildlife. The pods, small seed balls made from native plant seeds, clay and compost, were planted at Cotino by the students, linking classroom learning to real-world conservation efforts in their own community. Desert Defenders is a community education initiative led by The Living Desert and supported by Storyliving by Disney. The program engages schools and neighborhoods across the Coachella Valley through creative, hands-on projects such as building pollinator gardens and exploring ways to reduce waste and protect desert habitats. By supporting programs like these, Disney helps encourage students to learn about conservation and take an active role in protecting the desert environment they call home. Disneyland Paris Apiaries and Honey Over in France, Disneyland Paris has had its very own beehives since 2012. In fact, there are now 40 domestic beehives across the resort, helping reinforce natural pollination and support local biodiversity. Across the resort, nearly five acres of flower-filled meadows also serve as a refuge and food source for pollinating insects. They even produce their own honey from an apiary at Davy Crockett Ranch and other locations. These bee yards provide a safe shelter where bees can thrive and reproduce during swarming season — the time when the queen bee and a group of bees leave their nest to form new colonies. Sustainability is also at the heart of the program. Only surplus honey is harvested, ensuring the bees still have plenty of food to last all winter long! Local Honey at Disneyland Resort’s Napa Rose If you haven’t heard, Napa Rose has recently reopened at Disneyland Resort and features exciting selections that highlight seasonal produce and pay homage to California wine country cuisine with global influences. But did you know that the honey used in this restaurant is coming from nearby pollinators? Yes, that’s right — the honey is locally sourced by beekeepers right in the heart of Southern California. Wildflowers and Monarch Migration at Walt Disney World At Walt Disney World, the Disney Conservation team has led pollinator research and monitoring programs, helping scientists better understand butterfly and bee populations, migration patterns and the health of ecosystems they call home. From adding 14+ acres of wildflower meadow around solar arrays, to creating pollinator gardens with native milkweeds and flowering plants in the parks and resorts, to tagging monarch butterflies to track their movements, the team is always hard at work innovating to move the science forward and save species. And as a founding member of the Florida Butterfly Monitoring Network, Disney Conservation has monitored butterflies in the conservation areas of Walt Disney World for over 20 years and published papers on the results. This long‑term research helps inform conservation strategies that protect pollinators far beyond Disney’s parks, supporting biodiversity and habitats around the world. Through its leadership of the Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA) Saving Animals from Extinction (SAFE) program for North American monarch butterflies, Disney has also brought together more than 100 AZA institutions and program collaborators across the United States and Canada to engage audiences, increase collaboration, and improve the species’ conservation status in North America. Supporting Butterflies in our Backyards and Beyond The Disney Conservation Fund has supported nonprofit organizations working with communities around the world to protect pollinators — from birds, to bees, to butterflies, and bats. This includes more than a decade of support toward University of Florida’s work to reverse the decline and aid the recovery of 45 at-risk butterfly species in Florida and California. This team’s efforts have engaged more than 40,000 people in conservation education and outreach programs, planted nearly 30,000 wildlife-friendly native plants to help restore important habitats for species, reintroduced more than 47,000 captive-bred butterflies to the wild, and even helped increase the population of critically endangered Schaus’ swallowtail butterflies in Florida from only four individuals in 2012 to more than 1,700 by 2021. A recent grant from the Disney Conservation Fund will also support Monarch Joint Venture’s efforts to restore and connect 15 miles of monarch butterfly habitat across important migratory routes in California’s Bay Area and Central Valley over the next two years. Disney VoluntEARS Grow Impact For the last five years, Disney VoluntEARS have also helped support declining monarch butterfly populations by planting and caring for appropriate pollinator-friendly plants for their region, providing more than 7,000 hours of service. As monarch populations have declined in recent decades, especially following the 2025 Los Angeles fires, planting butterfly‑friendly plants at home is an important way to help their populations recover and continue to grow. Their efforts will continue this year, helping grow a brighter future by providing vital nectar resources and host plants to lay their eggs on this spring. From butterflies to bees and beyond, these are just a few of the ways Disney is helping pollinators thrive. This story is part of our 30-day countdown to Earth Day celebrating the Disney Conservation Fund’s 30th anniversary — follow along at thewaltdisneycompany.com/disney-planet-possible, and don’t forget to stream Secrets of the Bees on National Geographic, with episodes streaming on Disney+ and Hulu. 14. Sometimes, there are big ride changes like Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin and Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, where Disney has given us months to overanalyze every single thing. Other times, Disney pops something up overnight, and it’s a total surprise to us. Expedition Everest When we were in Animal Kingdom recently, we had to ride one of the best roller coasters on property and find the yeti, but in line, we noticed a new change that Disney definitely did not warn us about. On Expedition Everest, they added a new safety video to the monitors! Check it out! It’s fun (and helpful), and it’s the little things like this that help keep the rides fresh and new. You’ll have a little bit of time to check it out While we didn’t get too much time in front of them since we wanted to keep the line moving, it definitely caught our attention. What a fun addition We also found out it’s the 20th anniversary of Everest! What a massive achievement, especially with all the changes in Animal Kingdom right now. Time to celebrate! One major change is that DinoLand U.S.A. is being renamed Pueblo Esperanza, a Tropical Americas-themed land. ©Disney || Tropical Americas Land coming to Animal Kingdom It will feature an Encanto attraction (the very first!) where you get to go inside Casita. ©Disney DINOSAUR is also being turned into an Indiana Jones attraction. While it uses the same technology as the ride in Disneyland, this one will have a different storyline that we’re looking forward to seeing for ourselves. New Indiana Jones Ride ©Disney You can’t forget about the Disney animal carousel, too. This will be a super fun, family attraction for everyone to enjoy. A carousel featuring the resident wood carver’s favorite animals. ©Disney We’re always on the lookout for new changes in Disney World, so make sure you keep following Disney Food Blog for more! 7 MAJOR RIDE CHANGES HIT DISNEY WORLD IN 2026 — HERE’S THE FULL LIST Join the DFB Newsletter to get all the breaking news right in your inbox! 17. It’s officially time to go to infinity and beyond, because Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin has finally reopened at Magic Kingdom! Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin soft opening After Cast Member previews and a surprise soft opening, this popular Tomorrowland ride is welcoming Space Cadets once again. We stopped by Magic Kingdom to check out the crowds and wait times, and we certainly weren’t the only ones! It’s official! Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin has reopened at Magic Kingdom after a lengthy closure. This ride got quite a refresh with new vehicles, blasters, targets, and more. When we checked out the ride as part of a preview, we LOVED everything about the updated changes. We headed into Magic Kingdom this morning to check out the crowds and wait times over at Space Ranger Spin, and it turns out, LOTS of people were excited about the ride’s reopening! Rope drop wasn’t bad When we got into Tomorrowland, though, it suddenly became much more crowded! Everyone wants to ride today! We went to get in line for Buzz, which looked busy, but not too bad at first. Looking okay! But to find the end of the line, a long part of it extended beyond the queue and under the PeopleMover, Getting longer… Until we finally found it, stretching towards Carousel of Progress! The Cast Member confirmed that the wait time is 45 minutes or less. Found it! As far as wait times go, it looks like Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin has peaked at 45 minutes this morning. Since Lightning Lanes for the ride are almost sold out for the day, we’re expecting it to get more crowded as the day goes on. Only 45 minutes! One of the biggest (and most celebrated) changes to the new version of Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin is the replacement of the original, fixed blasters with new ones that can be picked up and aimed in any direction. Previously, you had to fully spin your ride vehicle to aim your blaster at the targets, but now, you can pick up your blaster and point it where you want it to go. This is an extremely welcome change, and we’re not the only ones who think so. Buzz We’ll be on the lookout for more Buzz Lightyear updates and beyond. 18. Space Rangers, this is Star Command. You are clear for takeoff. Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin One of our beloved and nostalgic attractions in Magic Kingdom is officially back open, which means we need to start our hand stretches and target shooting to be the first in our family to hit Galactic Hero. Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin is officially open in Tomorrowland. This ride has been under a lengthy refurbishment, during which it was completely updated, and it feels so fresh and new (with all of your favorites still there). Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin The ride vehicles have been updated… Hop on! …and now have digital screens with your points live updating in front of you. You can also see the symbols along the bottom, which show which level you’re at. Digital Screens Speaking of levels, you can now get more than 999,999 points, which means you can go to infinity and beyond! You’ll be a Galactic Hero if you get 1,000,000, but you can also get more points. Does this make the title of Galactic Hero a little less exciting? A smidge, but 1,000,000 is a huge achievement in any world. Scores THE ULTIMATE GUIDE TO GETTING GALACTIC HERO STATUS ON THE NEW BUZZ LIGHTYEAR’S SPACE RANGER SPIN We’ve been OBSESSED with the new handheld blasters. It’s a complete game-changer since you can pick up the blaster and move it around to shoot. The button is also a normal trigger on the front, versus that super difficult button on top. It’s so much easier to score points! The blaster also vibrates when you hit a target, so you have an idea of when you score points. Point and shoot! Another incredible change is that in the cart, each balster is a different color: red or green. This way, you know what you’re pointing at and actually know if you’re close to the target. Let’s ride Buzz Lightyear! The targets have also been updated. Make sure you keep your eye out for the flashing white targets — those are the ones with the most points. New target! Please say hi to Buddy! He’s our newest friend who teaches you how to shoot your blaster in the beginning. He is incredibly adorable, and his nametag is such a fun feature. He greets you right at the beginning of the game. It’s Buddy! Now, because this ride was closed for so long, it’s going to be popular. Expect long waits for the ride while everyone gets their chance to ride with the new updates (and probably afterward because the updates are AWESOME). You can choose to ride this attraction during Early Entry, which is where Disney World hotel guests get an extra 30 minutes in the park before it officially opens to the public. It might be a good choice to ride it during Early Entry or at the end of the night before the park closes. Don’t forget to check out the gift shop It’s also a part of Lightning Lane Multi Pass, but keep in mind that it will likely sell out fast, so you’ll want to pick Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin as your first selection for the day. 30-minute wait during soft opening Welcome home, Space Rangers! 20. It’s time to save the universe alongside our friend, Buzz Lightyear. Now I take being a Galactic Hero very seriously, so the first step of this mission included visiting Tomorrowland and connecting with the cast members and Disney Imagineers who know this attraction best. I’m happy to report that the attraction truly feels like a natural extension of the classic but with new enhancements that make the experience even better. So, get your notepad ready because we’re breaking down what’s new, how scoring works, and the different strategies guests can use to reach Galactic Hero. Now, more than ever, there are multiple ways to prove you’ve mastered the mission. Do you want to maximize your score? Keep these tips in mind on your next mission: Quick Tips for High‑Scoring Space Rangers: Aim for the center of every target to make each shot count. Harder‑to‑hit targets are worth more points, so don’t be afraid to go for the challenge. Watch for targets that light up or look different. These targets are worth extra. Try different strategies! There’s more than one path to Galactic Hero. A Familiar Mission with New Updates Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin at Disney World’s Magic Kingdom remains the classic attraction guests know and love, with many of the attraction’s legacy “secret” high-value targets (in addition to new ones that you should keep your eyes out for ). The experience is designed to feel intuitive and welcoming, making it easy for new recruits to jump right in while giving seasoned riders plenty to rediscover. Now what’s different, you ask? Brand New Scene: Guests are greeted by an all‑new character: a friendly robot named Buddy, created by Walt Disney Imagineering and Pixar Animation Studios to join the Star Command team. As a support‑bot, Buddy helps prepare departing Space Rangers, and this is a great warm-up opportunity if you want to practice your aim before the true test begins. New Ride Vehicles and Hand-Held Blasters: Star Cruisers received a fresh new look inspired by the colors of Buzz Lightyear and Star Command, along with onboard video monitors that deliver real‑time scoring updates and other exciting features. Each vehicle is also equipped with new handheld blasters designed for better aim, making it easier for guests of all ages to jump into the action. With always‑on lasers, two distinct blaster colors per Star Cruiser, and new lighting, sound, and vibration effects, players can clearly see where they’re aiming, if their aim is correct, and when they hit the target. Interactive Targets: The targets have been upgraded with new technology to let you know when you’ve hit them. You’ll also find that a few targets will randomly have a white or multicolor ring around them. That’s an important thing to look out for depending on your game strategy. Watchout Tip: Check your blaster color! You’ll see either red or green. This color will also appear on a target whenever you hit the center so that you know you were successful. Why Farther Targets Are Worth More Points Now if you’re trying to get as many points as possible, I’d recommend aiming for targets that are further away. The greater the distance or more challenging to hit, the more they’re worth. Before you take the shot, double check that you’re aiming for the center. These new details offer a fun, competitive edge that reminded me of Toy Story Mania! battles with my brother at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. You might even want to stretch beforehand because I was rubbing my arm (where my bicep should be) by the end of it. I told you we don’t mess around with Galactic Hero status at Disney Parks Blog, and my first run through…cough cough…practice round…is no different. Over here, we practice how we want to play. Boost Your Score with Standout Targets As you travel throughout the attraction, keep an eye out: you may spot a few targets that randomly illuminate with a white outer ring. Those targets are worth double their normal value when that happens, and it stays that way until they’re hit! This boost is helpful on your mission, and even bigger when the ring is multicolor instead of white. The multicolor-ringed target is the most rare and valuable target in the game. It appears at random, in only one location at a time, and if it isn’t hit within a few seconds, it vanishes and reappears somewhere else. I can report that I hit a multicolor-ringed target, and it was the best part of my day. I still stand by that statement because what followed included a major limited-time bonus mode, not just for me, but for all guests in the vicinity! You are the hero of the game at this point because all targets in the scene are worth significantly more points for a brief period. This phase doesn’t last long, so stay focused and adapt on the fly. You’ll notice this bonus period is starting to end when the outer ring begins to count down by extinguishing counterclockwise. Why Every Target Counts at the End of the Mission The excitement doesn’t stop when the final shot is fired. As the mission comes to a close, every distinct target you’ve hit is tallied and contributes to a bonus added just before your final rank is revealed. That means consistency really pays off. Hitting more unique targets throughout the attraction can deliver a satisfying score bump right at the end, rewarding Space Rangers who stay engaged from start to finish. Choose Your Path: There’s More Than One Way to Level Up Galactic Hero remains the top rank, but there’s no longer just one way to get there. Some Space Rangers rely on precision and difficult shots, while others focus on adaptability and timing. Any one of these strategies offers a legitimate path to saving the universe, giving well-prepared and repeat guests the opportunity to chase legendary status in their own way, with their own style. The ‘Secret Target’ Strategy The original secret high-value targets remain with some new ones to discover, too. Their value has decreased, but the new hardware makes them easier to hit, and they can still be the backbone of a high score. Guests who memorized the locations from the original attraction can blast those targets repeatedly and quickly rack up points. And keep a lookout for some new secret target locations. Illuminated Targets Keep your eyes on the outer ring. Targets with a white outer ring are worth double their normal value, and a rare multicolor-ringed target is the single most valuable target in the game. Hitting it puts you well on your way to Galactic Hero and triggers a bonus limited-time mode with substantial scoring returns. Bonus For Targets Hit While this alone isn’t enough to reach Galactic Hero, this reward keeps in mind the players who try to hit as many targets as possible. At the end of the game, a score bonus is distributed based on the number of distinct targets you hit throughout the game, rewarding a wide-ranging play style. Incoming Transmission: You’re Ready to Save the Universe With refreshed gameplay and multiple paths to success, Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin gives the rider more ways than ever to level up. Every mission is a new chance to prove you’ve got what it takes, for those chasing a personal best or setting their sights on Galactic Hero. As we all know, “to infinity and beyond”! 22. Your shoes get all the credit, but your socks are doing the real work. ©Bombas After a full day at Disney World, covering anywhere from eight to twelve miles on pavement, your feet are going to tell you exactly what they think of your gear choices. The difference between happy feet at park close and a blister situation by lunchtime often comes down to one overlooked detail: what’s actually inside your shoes. DISCLOSURE: This post may contain affiliate links, meaning when you click the links and make a purchase, we receive a commission. The Reason Your Feet Are Wrecked by 2 PM ©Amazon Most people pack their Disney bag with snacks, sunscreen, and portable chargers, and then grab whatever socks are sitting at the top of the drawer. It seems like a small decision, but you feel it for the entire day. Heat, sweat, and repetitive motion are a brutal combination, and standard cotton socks tend to hold moisture against your skin, which is exactly how blisters start. ©Amazon The Bombas Women’s Originals Ankle Socks are built with Extra Long Staple Cotton that stays breathable in summer heat and warm on cooler days, plus moisture-wicking properties that keep things dry even during the long hauls between Magic Kingdom and EPCOT. The Honeycomb Arch Support System provides a subtle cushioned hold right where your foot needs it most, and the Seamless Toe design eliminates the annoying ridge that causes friction over time. There’s also a Blister Tab at the back to protect your heel from rubbing against your shoe. ©Amazon These socks have earned the nickname “Most Comfortable Socks in the History of Feet,” and after a ten-hour park day, you’ll understand why. Take a look at them before your next park day. view ON amazon The Version Your Travel Partner Needs Too ©Amazon It would be a shame to sort out your own sock situation and leave the other half of your travel crew to suffer through the afternoon. The same logic applies regardless of who’s wearing them. ©Amazon The Bombas Men’s Originals Ankle Socks are built with the same core features: Extra Long Staple Cotton, moisture-wicking construction, the Honeycomb Arch Support System, a Seamless Toe, and a Blister Tab. They come in classic, understated colors that go with basically anything in a park-day wardrobe. Beyond the comfort factor, Bombas has a one-for-one donation model, meaning every pair purchased results in a pair donated. So you’re solving your own blister problem and doing something good at the same time. Grab a pair for whoever you’re dragging through the parks. view ON amazon The right socks sound like a small thing until you’re two hours from park close and your feet are screaming. At $18, Bombas are genuinely one of the easiest upgrades you can make before a Disney trip, and they’re the kind of purchase you’ll remember every single time you lace up. 24. Larger-than-life Rapunzel and Tiana Classic Doll box installations arrived at Disney Springs — and yes, guests can actually step inside them. But the best part? This is a photo op with purpose. The life-size displays are inspired by Disney’s new Classic Doll box packaging, which is 100% plastic-free. In fact, the new packaging design will help avoid the use of over 110,000 pounds of plastic per year. That’s equal to the weight of about 11 elephants (compared to the 2020 packaging design)! From April 6-26, guests are invited to channel their inner princess and step inside this life-size doll box experience, just in time for Earth Month. Click the image above to get a video peek at the life-size doll boxes Step Inside the Magic This immersive photo moment gives Disney Springs guests the chance to become the star of the story. They can pose solo, snap a photo with friends and family, or even capture a magical moment with the help of Disney PhotoPass. And the magic doesn’t stop there. The dolls featured in the installation are available just next door at Once Upon a Toy. The new plastic-free packaging is available for Disney’s Classic Dolls at select Disney stores and Disney Parks locations in North America and on DisneyStore.eu and DisneyStore.com.au. Designed with Play — and the Planet — in Mind Not only do the updated boxes help us avoid the use of plastic; they are also made from certified, sustainably sourced paper. “At Disney, we always start with the story — creating authentic character experiences that resonate with guests and fans. Our packaging is where that story begins. With our Classic Doll packaging, we saw an opportunity to rethink the guest experience through the lens of both sustainability and design. The new Classic Doll packaging reflects a more holistic approach — eliminating plastic, reducing material use, and bringing back direct visibility to the doll,” said Stefanie Majoras, Vice President of Global Merchandise Sourcing and Supply Chain Optimization at Disney. This is just one step in our journey, all part of our ongoing efforts to take meaningful and measurable action to support a healthier planet for people and wildlife, a commitment we call Disney Planet Possible. More dolls and products will continue to roll out with reduced-plastic and plastic-free packaging in the future. Plastic-free packaging is now available for Classic Dolls across 15 Disney characters, including: Elsa, Anna, Ariel, Aurora, Belle, Cinderella, Jasmine, Merida, Moana, Mulan, Pocahontas, Rapunzel, Snow White, Tiana, and Tinker Bell — with even more characters coming later this year. “This is just one project in a focused ongoing effort to develop packaging solutions with efficiency and sustainability at the forefront of design efforts,” said Steven Saco, Technical Packaging & Supply Chain Engineering at Disney. This Earth Month, this larger-than-life photo moment is one example of how Disney is working to reduce waste and create more sustainable products and experiences. We’re also celebrating the Disney Conservation Fund’s 30th anniversary by spotlighting 30 of Disney’s biodiversity conservation and environmental sustainability stories.
