My Disney Experience is a pretty robust app that lets you do just about everything you need when you visit Disney World. You can use the app to check in to your hotel room, unlock your hotel room door, connect to your MagicBand, act as your ticket into the parks, check wait times, book Lightning Lanes, and so much more. My Disney Experience App The app also lets you pay for food via mobile order, as well as pay for merchandise through mobile checkout, but if you want to use a gift card to pay for those things, it’s always been kind of a hassle when using the app. Well, Disney FINALLY fixed that problem and you can set the app to pay with a gift card by default now. Previously, if you wanted to use a gift card to pay for something through the My Disney Experience app, you’d have to manually add in the gift card number every time you wanted to use it. That’s why we’ve previously suggested saving the gift card number in a notes app so you can copy and paste it into My Disney Experience. Gift Card! But that has now changed (and seriously, this is something we’ve been wanting for a LONG time). Well, now both My Disney Experience AND the Disneyland app (yep, Disneyland got included in this update, too) now allow you to add Disney gift cards as your default payment method. Here’s how it works: Click on the three lines on the far right bottom of the My Disney Experience app screen. Scroll down and choose MyDisney Wallet under “Account” Click on “Add a Payment Method” Choose Disney Gift Card Type in the 16-Digit gift card number and details Click on “Save payment card information to MyDisney Wallet” Click on “Confirm.” ©Disney SO easy, right? Then the gift card will be used when you make a purchase through the app. However, this doesn’t yet work with purchasing Lightning Lane options, but, hey, at least we’re getting there with other things! It’s not even Christmas in July yet, but Disney already has us excited for the holiday season with some major Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party announcements. Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmastime Parade Just today, Disney has announced party dates, ticket prices, and entertainment lineups, but that’s not even all of it – there will also be three menu items exclusively for the Christmas party! Carne Asada Loaded Fries at Pecos Bill Tall Tale Inn & Cafe are coming back. These are French Fries topped with chipotle queso, caramelized onions, avocado salsa, and queso fresco. Carne Asada Loaded Fries When we tried it last year, these weren’t our favorite. They’re very seasoned and were delicious themselves, but the carne asada was very tough and had a very strong smoky chili pepper flavor. The Chipotle queso was similar to plastic cheese with a bit of chipotle flavor. We liked the creaminess the queso fresco added, and the avocado salsa verde added additional creaminess, and chili pepper and chipotle were definitely the overwhelming flavors in this dish, but the meat just wasn’t great because it was so tough. Carne Asada Loaded Fries Another returning favorite is the Snowflake Ornament at Pinocchio Village Haus, which is coconut-eggnog mousse in a white chocolate shell with sugar décor. The snowflake! Disney World loves a mousse dessert, and while many can be good, this one wasn’t our favorite. There was very little cake on this one, and the only real flavor came from the bits of coconut shavings, which also added a bit of texture to the dessert. This felt more like a cheesecake than a mousse, which some people might like. Overall, it was super cute, but the flavor was only fine. The inside! Lastly, the Hazelnut Carriage Cake at Cinderella’s Royal Table will also make a comeback. This is a spiced poached pear topped with vanilla bean mousse and sugared cranberries. We haven’t tried this one yet, but we’re hoping to get our hands on it this holiday season! Cinderella’s Royal Table We’ll be sure to keep you updated on more holiday food at Disney World. Some may say it’s summertime, but Disney World would say we’re officially halfway to the holidays. Magic Kingdom on Christmas Day Thanks Disney, now we can’t stop thinking about special holiday treats, Christmas music on Main Street U.S.A., the big trees at each of the four parks, all the Christmas lights and decorations. But it’s the middle of summer right now! Why are we thinking about all this? Well, because Disney as revealed when the holidays are coming to Disney World. Disney is getting tons of Christmas news out, because on top of this holiday news, we also got the official dates for this year’s Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party! The annual holiday party at Magic Kingdom which will run on select nights from November 8th to December 22nd. Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party The party is a one-of-a-kind holiday experience. You’ll get to enjoy some of your favorite rides with much lower waits, see exclusive entertainment, meet rare characters, and enjoy free cookies and hot chocolate throughout the night. Mickey’s Once Upon A Christmas Parade But wait…there’s MORE! Disney also announced the official dates for Jollywood Nights at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. That party will run on select nights from November 7th to January 5th. It will be on select Saturdays, Mondays, and Wednesdays. Disney Holidays in Hollywood Jollywood Nights is a fantastic Christmas event that takes place every year at Hollywood Studios. It includes specialty entertainment, exclusive character meet-and-greet, unique and fun experiences, and exclusive treats. Welcome to Jollywood Nights! We currently have no word on EPCOT’s Festival of the Holidays, which usually starts a little later than the holidays at the other parks. Considering that the dates for the 2026 EPCOT Food and Wine Festival are August 27th through November 21st, 2026, we’ll be seeing the holidays at EPCOT a couple of weeks after every other park. 2025 EPCOT Festival of the Holidays We can’t believe we’re already talking about the most wonderful time of the year! Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party is a seasonal Magic Kingdom event that requires a separate ticket, and it’s officially coming back this year! Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party This yearly event typically features special shows like Mickey’s Most Merriest Celebration, Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmastime Parade, Minnie’s Wonderful Christmastime Fireworks, Club Tinsel, and Disney Junior Jingle Jam. But, if you’re planning a visit to the party this year, you’re going to want to know about this ticket price increase! Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party tickets have received a price increase for 2026! Depending on the date you choose, you’ll now have to pay more if you want to experience this special event this year. Welcome to Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party! In 2025, Very Merry tickets ran between $169 and $229 per ticket, plus tax. This year, tickets will cost from $189 to $229 per ticket. Tickets go on sale on July 9th for guests staying at Disney World hotels, the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin, and Shades of Green. All other guests can purchase tickets as of July 16th. Frozen Holiday Surprise Disney has not released a full breakdown of ticket prices for each date yet, but we expect to see that when tickets go on sale and will update you with the full info. These parties do sell out, especially those early November dates (because they’re cheaper) and the ones right before Christmas (because, well, Christmas). Remember, your best chance at short lines for rides and premium fireworks views is honestly going to be at the party. Happy Holidays…or rather, happy halfway to the holidays! Disney just dropped a TON of updates about the holiday season in Disney World, and we couldn’t be more excited. Mickey’s Most Merriest Celebration We are ready for cooler weather, snoap, holiday decorations in the parks, SANTA, and more. Of course, we’re even MORE excited about Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party, and now we have a ton of NEW details about what to expect at this year’s party, including everything that’s coming BACK to the party in 2026. Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party is returning in 2026, and we’re going to tell you about everything that has been confirmed for this year’s party, so let’s get started. Dates Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party happens on select nights during Disney World’s holiday season from 7 P.M. to midnight, although those with a party ticket can enter Magic Kingdom as early as 4 P.M. Here are this year’s dates: November 8, 9, 12, 13, 15, 17, 19, 20, 24, 25, 27, 29 December 1, 3, 4, 6, 8, 10, 11, 13, 15, 17, 18, 20, 22 Cinderella! Tickets tend to sell out quickly, so you might want to pick a couple of dates when deciding. Tickets Tickets for Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party go on sale on July 9th for those staying at Disney World hotels, the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin, and Shades of Green. For everyone else, you’ll be able to buy tickets on July 16th. Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party Adult ticket prices range from $189 to $229 per ticket in 2026, plus, Annual Passholders and Disney Vacation Club Members can save $10 per ticket on select evenings. Entertainment There is SO much to see and do at Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party, including a lot of exclusive party entertainment. Disney has confirmed that Minnie’s Wonderful Christmastime Fireworks will return this year. This fireworks display includes projections, special effects, fireworks, and more. Minnie’s Wonderful Christmastime Fireworks at Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party! Mickey’s Once Upon A Christmastime Parade will also return to the party this year, first at 8:30 P.M. and again at 11 P.M. Pro tip: check out the second parade because it’s usually less crowded than the first. Note that Disney has not confirmed these parade times, but these are the times the parades have been held in the past. Mickey’s Once Upon A Christmastime Parade Mickey’s Most Merriest Celebration is a special show that takes place on the Cinderella Castle stage. It features singing, dancing, and holiday songs. You’ll have the opportunity to catch this show multiple times throughout the evening. Mickey’s Most Merriest Celebration Frozen Holiday Surprise brings some of your favorite Frozen characters to Cinderella Castle to celebrate the holidays. The show’s climax features Elsa adding shimmering and sparkling new details to Cinderella Castle to make it a frozen nighttime spectacle. Frozen Holiday Surprise You’ll also want to keep your eyes peeled for Disney characters in holiday outfits. You’ll even see rare characters that aren’t usually out in the parks during the day. Disney has not yet confirmed a full list of characters appearing at this year’s party, but you’ll find them on the party map or My Disney Experience app. The Seven Dwarfs meet and greet Snow will also fall on Main Street, U.S.A., and Club Tinsel, a dance party at Rocketeer Plaza Stage in Tomorrowland. You’ll also find snow falling during Disney Junior Jingle Jam, a dance party with Disney Junior characters at Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Cafe. Snow! You’ll find these freebies at select quick service restaurants throughout the park (they’ll be marked on your party map, and each location will have a giant candy cane inflatable in front). Big news for the holiday fans out there! You can start planning your holiday trip now, because Disney has finally released the dates for this year’s Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party! Minnie’s Wonderful Christmastime Fireworks at Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party! This annual party is one of the best ways to enjoy the holiday season in Magic Kingdom and experience some of your favorite rides with much lower waits. Not to mention, you get the chance to see exclusive entertainment, meet rare characters, and enjoy free cookies and hot chocolate/apple cider throughout the night. Here’s when you can expect to enjoy the party this time around! Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party runs on select nights from November 8th to December 22nd, including: November 8, 9, 12, 13, 15, 17, 19, 20, 24, 25, 27, 29 December 1, 3, 4, 6, 8, 10, 11, 13, 15, 17, 18, 20, 22 Tickets for this event ranged from $169 to $229 in 2025, and will range from $189 to $229 for 2026. Oh, the dread! We love it when Disney makes new announcements, and we might get distracted by the sparkling lights and Christmas trees. If you look a little closer, we see something we don’t like very much — a price increase. Disney Holidays in Hollywood Disney released ticket info for Jollywood Nights coming to Hollywood Studios. We were so excited to start planning our dates and tickets. While we’re very excited for this year’s event, we also got to see the ticket prices, and they’re not our favorite. This year, tickets to Jollywood Nights range from $169 to $199. In 2025, tickets ranged from $159 to $199. That’s a $10 increase on the cheapest days. The party runs on select nights from November 7th to January 5th. It’s the first time it’s going through January! Jollywood Nights But do tickets have more value this year? Last year, the party officially ran from 7:30 PM to 12:30 AM, but you could enter the park at 5:30 PM, letting you ride some extra rides, grab more snacks, and enjoy Hollywood Studios before it transforms into a party. It’s the same for 2026. Powerline Max Sometimes there are some free gifts included, like an ornament or a pack of marshmallows, but for the most part, you’re still buying more things on top of your ticket price. From snacks to merchandise, all of these are additional costs you’ll want to factor in. Extra costs! We’re not exactly surprised by an increase, since we usually see some sort of increase in special event tickets and normal park tickets, but it’s always a bummer, especially when it doesn’t feel like there’s an increase in value. Yes, it’s busy and a bit colder than usual, but once you see the lights twinkling around Disney World and all the Christmas trees, you’re going to realize you need a trip every single year. Disney just announced everything confirmed for Jollywood Nights this year, and yeah, you’re going to want to grab a ticket! Here’s everything confirmed for the 2026 Jollywood Nights in Disney World! Entertainment Who’s ready for a little Muppet fun? Disney Holidays in Hollywood is set to return, hosted by none other than Kermit the Frog and Miss Piggy. A brand-new Universal theme park is opening in Fisco, Texas, on July 1st, but thanks to early previews, we got a great look at what’s to come. Universal Kids Resort Universal Kids Resort has seven lands, all themed to fun characters and movies, with everything being geared towards kids. There’s also a 300-room hotel attached, equally as themed. Now that pictures and videos are out for the theme park, fans are starting to share their opinions, and let’s just say…we’re not quite sure what to say! When we went to our social media to see what people were saying, y’all didn’t hold back. One commenter said, “We think they were forced to open by a certain date, so they rushed and skimped on everything possible to make the deadline…maybe that means they’ll improve/add to it as time goes on?” Some of the views Someone else said, “Very disappointing from Universal.” It’s hard not to compare this newest Universal park to Epic Universe, Universal’s other most recent park, which opened in 2025. It is a fully immersive theme park with some pretty cool rides, but some are not feeling the same love for Universal Kids Resort. Trolls Critter Crawl There were quite a few comments about the whole feeling and look of the park. One said, “This looks like a parking lot.” Another said, “This resort looks so unshaded, I love Universal, but this does not look like something I would take my kids to because it’s just pure pavement and sun.” Another said, “It’s giving…a carnival.” Del Mar Others pointed out problems with specific rides. One person said, “The Barnacle Bus looks like a ride at a shopping mall.” Barnacle Bus With a whole SpongeBob land, there were a lot of comments comparing it to SpongeBob episodes. “This looks like the playground Mr. Krabs made to draw families into the Krusty Krap for the summer,” said one commenter. Mrs. Puff’s Boating School Another commenter said, “Wow, this place has the charm of a prison camp.” Bello Bay Some people were saying that it’s really meant to be a local theme park and not one to travel to, but the lack of shade is concerning in the Texas heat. There were also a lot of concerns about how almost every ride is a spinning ride. Hair in the Clouds When anything Universal or Disney is announced and welcomed to the world, there’s going to be a mix of comments. Many commenters seemed excited when the park was announced and concept art was shared, but once pictures and videos began being shared on social media, it seemed a lot of the hype had gone down. Minions Splash Pad The resort will open on July 1st, and we’ll just have to see how it’s received once more families get a chance to check it out. Will Universal make changes?
