  1. Disney World just released new details for Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party in Magic Kingdom, and we’re so ready to get spooky over here. It’s Stitch! We go every single year, and we’re always on the hunt for new details and changes from year to year. Well, we think this year is going to be pretty fun because this new change involves our favorite blue alien. There will be a new Masquerade with Stitch in Tomorrowland! You can join Stitch and his pals Lilo and Angel at the Rockettower Plaza Stage, where Stitch is hosting an ever-changing masquerade. He’s been digging through Lilo’s costume trunk, and when he tries on new accessories, the party will switch themes, making the party playfully unpredictable all night long. Stitch and dancers! That sounds awesome! Disney dance parties are some of the best, and we’re excited to see the different themes and how they change throughout the night. There has to be an Elvis one, right? Elvis Stitch! Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party is a separately ticketed event (so your day ticket won’t work here!), where you can enter the parks at 4 PM for the party, which starts at 7 PM. Dates run from August 7th to October 31st, with dates closer to Halloween typically being more expensive. Not-So-Scary Here’s a full look at all the party dates in 2026: August 7, 11, 14, 18, 21, 23, 25, 28, 30 September 1, 4, 8, 11, 13, 15, 18, 20, 22, 24, 25, 27, 29 October 1, 2, 4, 6, 8, 9, 13, 15, 16, 18, 22, 23, 25, 27, 29, 31 Jack Skellington and Sally at Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party Don’t want to go through all of the stress of booking your Disney World trip alone? 6. This summer is set to be BIG in Disney World, for a number of different reasons! Disney Springs! Disney World usually has SO much going on, but this year? That’s been taken to a whole new level. We’re talking new attractions, experiences, rides, and so much more. Sometimes, it feels a little hard to keep up with it all. If you’re heading to Disney World this summer and need a bit of help keeping track of everything, we’re here to help break it down. In Disney Springs ALONE, these are the six things you can expect to see change this summer! Six Ravens Starting off strong, while we don’t have an exact opening timeline for it just yet, we’re really hoping to see Six Ravens open up in Disney Springs sometime this summer! ©Six Ravens This new shop is brought to us by the same creators of Gideon’s Bakehouse, but this spot will focus on hand pies called Coffyns. These will be homemade yeast rolls, complete with fillings created in partnership with other Central Florida chefs. While Gideon’s Bakehouse is all about the sweets, this spot will be savory-focused and will only be a few doors down from the iconic cookie and cake shop. Vans In a similar vein, we also know we’re getting a new Vans shop in Disney Springs sometime soon! Vans is coming soon! Again, this shop also doesn’t have an opening timeline, and since we only just saw the signs indicating what is on the way back in March, it’s entirely possible it won’t be open in time for summer. You can bet we’re crossing our fingers, though! LEVEL99 We DO know that LEVEL99 will be opening in Disney Springs this summer, though no official date has been set. Future location of LEVEL99 LEVEL99 is a “real-world, challenge-based, social entertainment” that features both physical and mental challenges for adults. It’s fun, fast-paced, slightly intense, and we think it’ll be a HUGE hit in Disney Springs. It’s basically a giant, futuristic arcade and entertainment center with over 60 challenge rooms and duels — what more can we ask for? Dance Party! Over at Disney Springs Marketplace on select nights, kiddos will love getting to take part in the new Dance Party on its way! Disney Springs It’ll feature songs from Descendants: Wicked Wonderland and Camp Rock 3 to celebrate the upcoming releases of both films on Disney+. As this is part of the Cool KIDS’ SUMMER event, we can guess that this will begin sometime around May 26th and end around September 8th. Flavors of Florida and Orlando’s Magical Dining While there are new monthly additions to Disney Springs restaurant menus each and every month, summer will be extra special thanks to the Flavors of Florida event! Flavors of Florida Dates aren’t totally set in stone for this event, but you can bet we’ll be keeping a close eye on the latest information to pass it right on to you. If you’re someone who loves Disney dining and exploring new eats, trust us when we say that this event is not one to miss! In a similar vein, Orlando’s Magical Dining usually comes back in August, and while dates haven’t been announced for this event this year either, we’re also keeping our eyes out. 7. It’s almost summertime at Disney World, and you know what that means? It means rain…rain…and MORE RAIN! Shoe Covers If you’ve been in Florida during the summer, you know how unpredictable the weather can be. You need to bring those essential items that will keep you dry…but what about your shoes? Let us introduce you to one of our favorite essentials that we bring on every Disney World trip! DISCLOSURE: This post may contain affiliate links, meaning when you click the links and make a purchase, we receive a commission. Get the Silicone Waterproof Shoe Covers Silicone Waterproof Shoe Covers Let us show you our Silicone Waterproof Shoe Covers! We’re not ashamed to admit it, we’re happy we broke down and bought a pair of these suckers, even if they look a little goofy. They really did the trick, despite us lowkey having ZERO faith in them at first glance. Easy does it! They actually do what they’re billed to do! It may be in your best interest to size up to alleviate any discomfort from the zipper top. But these really do work on a wet and rainy day. Silicone Waterproof Shoe Covers They work, but they’re not 100% fool proof, so you need to pay attention when you put them on. If you’ve got an open gap to the top, then you’re leaving room for rain to get in. When we walked against the rain instead of with it, we could tell rain was getting in simply because it was hitting our legs and trickling down. They look ridiculous…but hear us out. With as often as it rains in Florida, and to keep from having to deal with wet, smelly shoes during your trip or when packing up afterwards, these are absolutely worth it! It honestly made our trip so much easier. Oh, and the price is great as well. 9. Y’all, it’s happening!!! ©Disney We’re screaming and crying because this is the BEST look we’ve gotten at the new Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets in Hollywood Studios, and if you weren’t excited before, I think these photos might turn that around. We just got a clear look at the iconic guitar outside the attraction. Disney has been working on repainting the classic red into a psychedelic color scheme that looks like it’s straight out of The Electric Mayhem. Looking great! There are still a lot of walls blocking the area, but we’re just getting SO excited. The colors look sharp and so bright, and we’re definitely going to need a PhotoPass stop right in front of it. We can’t wait to ride Disney already repainted the car outside the attraction, too, which definitely looks like they gave Animal a can of spray paint (in the best way, of course — we think Animal is an incredible painter). Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring the Muppets The attraction opens on May 26th, which is less than a month away. We feel like we’ve been waiting forever, so we’re thrilled it’s finally happening. The set list for the ride was released, which includes: Song 2 — The Electric Mayhem Born To Be Wild — The Electric Mayhem ft. Camilla the Chicken Love Rollercoaster — The Electric Mayhem ft. Jennider Hudson & Questlove Rock! Rock! (Till You Drop) — The Electric Mayhem ft. Def Leppard Walking on Sunshine — The Electric Mayhem ft. Kelly Clarkson ©Disney We even got a look at inside the queue and loading zone, which is filled with lots of Muppet easter eggs, so you should probably rewatch a bunch of the movies and TV shows if you want to catch all the details. Of course, anyone can enjoy it without knowing the full background, but there’s something so fun about spotting the details everyone might be missing! Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets Queue ©Disney We’ll be there when the ride opens to share all the details with you, so make sure you keep following Disney Food Blog for more Disney news you just can’t miss. LACOVIA Mini Fan The misting fan creates a small stream of mist from the center ring just under the fan, but it’s not the strongest, so you need to spray it relatively close to your face. While the water reservoir is small, filling it to the top lasts us for a week of spraying often. It also includes a dropper for the water reserve, so it’s easier to fill, and it’s small enough to take with you on the go. 11. During Disney Week of Wishes, we’re celebrating the extraordinary power of a wish — and the incredible Make-A-Wish kids who inspire us every single day. Did You Know? A Disney wish is granted every hour of every day! All week long, Disney Experiences around the world are coming together with Make-A-Wish to help make wishes come true for children facing critical illnesses. This page will be updated throughout the week with stories of courage, happiness, and imagination as Make-A-Wish kids and their families experience unforgettable moments across Disney Parks, resorts, and beyond. Since the first official wish was granted at Disneyland 45 years ago, Disney has worked with Make-A-Wish to grant more than 175,000 life-changing wishes around the world.  Whether they’re stepping into immersive adventures, meeting beloved characters, or seeing their biggest dreams come to life, each wish is a powerful reminder that true heroism is found in bravery, hope, and heart. Check back all week long as we continue to share new stories from around the globe, each one celebrating the magic that happens when a wish comes true. April 27, 2026: Walt Disney World Rededicates the Newly Reimagined Wish Lounge In honor of Disney Week of Wishes, Walt Disney World recently rededicated the newly reimagined Wish Lounge at Magic Kingdom, a special space reserved exclusively for Make‑A‑Wish families to rest, recharge, and spend time together during their visit. At the center of the rededication celebration was Paxton – 6 years old, with a wish to visit Walt Disney World. He stood alongside his family, Disney Experiences Chairman Thomas Mazloum, Walt Disney World President Jeff Vahle, and cast member and former Make-A-Wish kid Abigail to celebrate the magic the lounge will create for all of the wish families to come. The moment became even more special when Paxton’s favorite characters, Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse, surprised the group, turning the celebration into an unforgettable memory. Cast member Abigail, whose own wish trip brought her to Walt Disney World over a decade ago, first visited the Wish Lounge during her wish. After experiencing the lasting impact of her own trip, she knows how life-changing a Disney wish can be for kids with critical illnesses. Today, Abigail creates that magic herself and helps bring wish‑granting moments to life for other families as part of the more than 7,000 wishes granted at the resort each year. “As part of the entertainment team, I help kids and their families meet their favorite characters,” said Abigail. “It’s so special to be able to do that because that’s what the cast members did for me on my Make-A-Wish trip. So it really is a full-circle moment.” Recently refreshed with new artwork and thoughtful design details inspired by wish‑granting moments from beloved Disney stories, the Wish Lounge reflects the heart of a Disney wish, offering families a quiet, welcoming retreat during a day full of magic. Now open to wish families from around the world, the newly reimagined Wish Lounge stands as a place of comfort, hope, and joy, and a meaningful reminder of the impact wishes have every single day at Walt Disney World. 14. Do you need a Lightning Lane strategy for Disney’s Animal Kingdom? I’ve got you covered! Attraction Sign at Animal Kingdom directing Guests to Standby Line and Lightning Lane Entrances We’ve used the various Lightning Lane systems in this park dozens of times (maybe even hundreds, at this point!), and we’ve got our strategy down to a SCIENCE. So here, I’m breaking down everything you need to know about Lightning Lanes in Animal Kingdom, and how to navigate your day with or without them. Do You Need Lightning Lanes in Animal Kingdom? The first question you’ve got to ask is “do you actually need to use Lightning Lanes in Animal Kingdom?” And unlike Magic Kingdom or Hollywood Studios, where there are a bunch of high wait times for popular attractions, this park is a bit easier to navigate. Honestly, in most cases, we tell people that they might not need to purchase a Lightning Lane option for Animal Kingdom. Kali River Rapids Lightning Lane sign in Disney’s Animal Kingdom This park doesn’t have very many rides, and several of them are easy to hop in line for during rope drop hours or at the end of the day. As long as you go into your park day with a strategy, you can probably conquer Animal Kingdom without Lightning Lane, given that it’s not the most crowded seasons of the year. However, if you want to use Lightning Lanes to make your day easier and your waits shorter, we’re here to break it all down. 50 Amazing Things You Never Knew Were in Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lightning Lane Multi Pass Starting out the list of Lightning Lane options, we have Lightning Lane Multi Pass. This option is one price to access all but one Lightning Lane in the park. The price typically ranges somewhere from $16-$32 per person, per day for Animal Kingdom (pre-tax). You can purchase Lightning Lane Multi Pass up to 7 days before your trip if you’re staying at a Disney Resort, and you can purchase up to 3 days before your visit to the park if you’re staying off-property. when and if you should use it, how much it typically costs, note that there are no tiers at this park, list all the Multi Pass options and which order you should choose them in Lightning Lane Entry With Lightning Lane Multi Pass, you’ll be able to choose 3 selections at the time of booking, then as you scan into a Lightning Lane in the park, you “free up” that slot and can book another. Unlike the other parks, there is no “tier” system for booking Lightning Lanes at Animal Kingdom, so you’re free to select any 3 options from the list for your initial choices. Na’vi River Journey In Animal Kingdom, the following attractions are available to book through Lightning Lane Multi Pass: Expedition Everest – Legend of the Forbidden Mountain Feathered Friends in Flight! Festival of the Lion King Finding Nemo: The Big Blue… and Beyond! Kali River Rapids Kilimanjaro Safaris Naʻvi River Journey Zootopia: Better Zoogether! Lightning Lane for the Festival of the Lion King Of these options, Na’vi River Journey is the clear first pick. It books up the fastest and has the longest wait of the attractions listed. Along with it, good options for your initial three picks include Kilimanjaro Safaris (the park’s flagship ride that often has a 30-60 minute wait), Zootopia: Better Zoogether! (the newest attraction on the list and fairly popular), or Kali River Rapids (if it’s hot outside, this one is BUSY). A giraffe on Kilimanjaro Safaris After those, Festival of the Lion King is the best choice of the theater shows because its theater often fills up. Using Lightning Lane there means you’ll get a better seat and make it into that particular show. Just keep in mind that Lightning Lanes typically have 60 minute return windows, but for shows with dedicated showtimes, they’re often shorter than that. Expedition Everest could also be a good second-round pick if you’re a thrill junkie. This ride, however, doesn’t usually get a super-long wait because it loads quickly, and it also has a fairly effective single rider queue. Here’s the Full Guide to Lightning Lane Multi Pass in Disney World Lightning Lane Single Pass Moving on to the next option on our list, it’s time to talk about the most popular ride in the park! Lightning Lane Single Pass is a single-use Lightning Lane for each park’s most popular attraction(s), and in Animal Kingdom, you can use this to ride Avatar Flight of Passage. Yes, that’s the ride where you board a banshee and fly over Pandora. It’s VERY popular. Flight of Passage entrance Flight of Passage often has waits of over an hour, and it can get a multi-hour wait on busy days. The queue is also fairly brutal because a large portion of it involves standing in the sun outdoors. Those things add up to make Single Pass a very popular purchase at Animal Kingdom. Like Multi Pass, you can buy this one 7 days before your trip if you’re staying at a Disney Resort and 3 days before your park visit if you’re not. When you purchase, you’ll select a return window during which you’ll go to the ride entrance and scan in at the Lightning Lane. The price for this typically ranges from $16-$19 per person, per day (pre-tax). “And, uhh… FLY!” Probably the most popular Lightning Lane strategy for Animal Kingdom is to skip purchasing Multi Pass and only purchase Single Pass. That alone could save you more than an hour of park time. If you’re planning to visit during a busy season, the Single Pass for Flight of Passage can sell out ahead of time, so know if you plan to purchase it when your booking opens. See Our Guide to Using Single Pass in Disney World Here! Lightning Lane Premier Pass Finally, there’s Lightning Lane Premier Pass, Disney World’s fanciest Lightning Lane offering. This one will run you anywhere from $139-$199 per person, per day (pre-tax), and it allows access to ALL Lightning Lanes in the park, without having to reserve times to visit attractions. Expedition Everest Lightning Lane The beauty of this system is that you simply purchase it (7 days in advance for Disney Resort guests, 3 days in advance for those who aren’t) and then use it. You can scan into any of the Lightning Lanes at any time the attraction is open with one Lightning Lane access per attraction, per day. It’s easy to use, but it’s very expensive. Pandora Really the only times we’d recommend purchasing this is if you’re visiting Animal Kingdom during a particularly busy season, or if you have the space in your budget and want to have as smooth an experience as possible. Using Premier Pass would likely make it easy to do the entire park in half a day, so it could fit well for that purpose if you have the funds. See Our Complete Guide to Premier Pass Here! Tips for Doing Animal Kingdom Without Lightning Lanes Now, on to the good stuff! If you’re not interested in spending the money on Lightning Lanes for Animal Kingdom, you definitely don’t have to! Here are my suggestions for navigating the park without it. The main key here is maximizing your time in the park. Animal Kingdom is typically pretty quiet when it first opens in the morning (it opens earlier than the other parks) and it also tends to calm down quite a bit at the end of the day (since there aren’t many attractions in the park right now, people leave early). Therefore, you’ll want to concentrate the most popular rides during those times. Disney’s Animal Kingdom Pandora is the most popular part of the park right now, so you’ll either want to use Early Theme Park Entry and rope drop Flight of Passage, followed by Na’vi River Journey, or do them in the last two hours of the day when wait times drop. You can get in line for rides right up until park closing time, no matter the wait time. The floating mountains in Pandora Other popular attractions to knock out when wait times are low are Zootopia: Better Zoogether! and Kilimanjaro Safaris. The safari typically closes early, so that’s not one you’ll want to save until the very end of the day (check the day’s operating hours in the My Disney Experience app). For Expedition Everest, I recommend using the single rider queue if your party is fine with splitting up, and Kali River Rapids isn’t usually too long of a wait unless it’s the hottest part of the day. Zootopia: Better Zoogether The theater shows are best saved for the middle of the day when attraction wait times are high. They have limited showtimes, so make sure to check the app for those as well. The middle of the day is also a great time to squeeze in some character meet-and-greets. Carl and Russell With those tips in mind, you can totally conquer Animal Kingdom without Lightning Lanes, but if you choose to use the system, make sure you use it wisely! 16. For over 75 years, the artists at Walt Disney Imagineering have crafted Disney’s theme parks, resorts, and rides. Artists like Rolly Crump, Tony Baxter, and Marc Davis – among hundreds of others have imbued the company’s rides and attractions with grandeur, magic… and secrets? Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind From references to past attractions that have been replaced to tributes to other Imagineers, these tiny references are hidden inside some of Disney’s most famous rides. Most of them aren’t even noticeable to the naked eye, but for guests who know where to look, they add another layer to Imagineering’s rich history. Toad Hall Still Stands The Magic Kingdom’s Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh somewhat controversially, replaced Mr. Toad’s Wild Ride over 30 years ago. However, a reference to the former attraction is still present. As you’re heading into Owl’s house on the Fantasyland attraction, look to your left, and you’ll notice a photo of Mr. Toad handing the deed for the attraction over to Owl. Portrait of Mr. Toad in The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh 20,000 Leagues Sails On The 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea Submarine Voyage was a staple attraction at Walt Disney World from its opening day in 1971 through 1994. These days, the site that was once occupied by the massive attraction is currently home to Under the Sea – Journey of the Little Mermaid. On the latter attraction’s queue, a carving of the iconic Nautilis can be seen embedded in the rockwork. Can you see it? “No One’s Gonna Stop Rock & Roll – or Ellen’s Energy Adventure – from Existing!” Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind has several references to both its immediate predecessor, Ellen’s Energy Adventure, as well as the Universe of Energy. These include: A column inside the ride featuring script written in the fictional Xandarian language. If you translate it to English, the top left says Ellen, the top right says Alex (as in Alex Trebek — who was also featured in the ride), the bottom left says E=MC squared, and the bottom right says dino. In addition, if you look closely at a set of ship schematics featured in the second pre-show room, at the bottom right, you can see the old Universe of Energy symbol. During the ride, you can also hear a bit of what sounds like an electric guitar version of the old Universe of Energy theme song as the Guardians “fly” into space right at the start of the ride. Listen for when the Celestial says, “What is that noise?“ just before the launch. Finally, during the reverse launch, there’s another reference to some dialogue straight from Ellen’s Energy Adventure, which involved Ellen mishearing Bill Nye talking about the Big Bang. If you listen closely, you’ll hear Star-Lord say “Big Bang!” followed by Drax asking, “Ding dang?” Can you see it? It’s Mary Blair’s World After All The legendary Mary Blair was the creative spearhead behind the iconic look of “it’s a small world”, designing the whimsical doll-like, color palette, and overall design sense that would be used for the ride. As Imagineer Rolly Crump put it, “I knew it was only going to work if everything looked like Mary Blair. As far as I was concerned, this is a Mary Blair ride.” ©D23 Crump and his team took things even further, inserting a tribute to Blair into the Disneyland attraction (yes, this is a cheat) itself with the inclusion of a doll located atop the Eiffel Tower in the French section with the likeness of Blair and a costume inspired by her clothing choices. ©Disney Disney Imagineers have a long history of dropping hidden secrets and references into many of the company’s attractions. Irish dancers at Raglan Road They are also offering special entrees for the month, like: Teeling Blackpitts Pork Ribs for $22 – Half rack of slow‑cooked pork ribs, brushed with a Teeling Blackpitts Irish whiskey glaze that brings a warm peat‑smoked sweetness, caramel depth, and a lingering whisper of charred oak. 19. This is Halloween, this is Halloween! That’s what we’re singing right now because Disney is hinting at spooky news coming soon. Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party! We’re about halfway to Halloween season at Disney World and Disneyland, which means Disney is going to start announcing details about Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, special treats and offerings, and anything else that comes with one of the best holidays. This teaser has us SUPER excited for what’s to come. Disney Parks Blog, Disney’s official blog, has turned Halloween with a message that we will get a “full reveal” on April 28th. ©Disney Below, there are two tarot-looking cards, and if you scroll over them, there’s a hidden message. If you put together all the capital letters, it says “AUGUST,” which is when the Halloween season starts in Disney World. We know, we know, super early, but you need time to get in all the fun! ©Disney The second card contains a riddle stating that special items are coming based on the trinkets in the photo. If you look closer, you can see fun details like a tiny Maleficent, the symbol from Agatha All Along, the poisoned apple, a pumpkin king, Ursula, and so much more. I don’t know about you, but as the biggest Agatha All Along fan, I’m hoping we get some references in Disney World, since they usually do something in Disneyland for her! ©Disney Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party is an after-hours event in the park that requires a special ticket in addition to your day ticket. It typically gets you into the parks around 4 PM, with the party starting around 7 PM. Once the party starts, you can check out special entertainment like parades and fireworks shows, trick-or-treat, and meet the coolest characters. Erica also shared “For context, his favorite food is burgers and pizza and mine is probably chicken nuggets and a crispy coke. We’re very ordinary people who never go out to fancy places”. When AJ threw this question out to our team we were quick to responsed because honestly — we LOVE talking about Disney food! The Hollywood Brown Derby So where did our team say? The Cake Bake Shop Restaurant by Gwendolyn Rogers was one of the top choices. While it is fancier than a quick service, we love the chicken tenders here! The menu has a ton of options, from sandwiches, salads, and burgers. The atmosphere is stunning here and would be a date night to remember. Read About Our Cake Bake Review Here! 23. Southwest Airlines has been making a lot of changes recently, including removing its free checked-bag perk and switching to assigned seating. Now, Southwest Airlines has added a NEW perk, and wine lovers are going to be excited about this one. Southwest just announced its new Sip and Ship Program, which will allow passengers to bring home a case of wine from their favorite wine country destination. The best part? The case of wine flies for free! ©Southwest Airlines No special membership required and no checked baggage fees. That’s right, you can bring home an entire case of wine for free when you fly on Southwest Airlines. Of course, there are a few caveats, so let’s dive into the details of this new perk. If you are a wine lover, the new Sip and Ship program is for you! With the program, you can check a case of wine for free when you travel within the United States from a participating airport. The participating airports are all across the West Coast and the Pacific Northwest wine regions. Here is a look at the participating airports: California Burbank Fresno Long Beach Los Angeles Oakland Ontario Orange County/Santa Ana Palm Springs Sacramento San Diego San Francisco San Jose Santa Barbara Sonoma County Idaho Boise Oregon Eugene Portland Washington Seattle/Tacoma Spokane Southwest Airlines at MCO If you are departing from one of the above participating airports, you can bring one properly packaged case of wine up to 12 bottles. The case must weigh 50 pounds or less and fall within Southwest Airlines’ standard sizing limit. You must also be at least 21 years or older. If you meet all of these requirements, then you can check a case of wine for FREE. Make sure your wine is packed in a sturdy, leakproof container, and bring it unsealed to the Help Desk for inspection by a Customer Service Agent. The agent will ensure it is properly packed, then seal and label the case for you. Southwest Airlines Then just like that, you will be on your way to your final destination with an entire case of wine to enjoy later! 24. We’ve eaten at every single Disney Springs restaurant (well, all restaurants in Disney World, for that matter), and sometimes it can be so hard to choose where to eat. That’s why we’re constantly going back to each restaurant and trying their new food to see if it’s worth a stop. Pastor Pork Tenderloin City Works just dropped new menu items, and we’re diving in. Should this be your go-to at Disney Springs? Let’s find out! We started off with the Lavender Margarita for $15.95, which features Lunazul Blanco, Cointreau, lavender syrup, agave syrup, and a housemade sour mix. Lavender Margarita What a way to start off our meal! This drink was very, very sweet, which we loved. It was very smooth and only burned once the alcohol hit your chest, so it was a lighter drink. The sour mix didn’t really come through, but the lavender was subtle and not as floral as you might expect. The agave flavor is nice and refreshing, and once we added a bit of lime, it brought in a subtle, sour twist. It was a solid choice and very enjoyable. Then we also had the Spicy Watermelon Paloma for $15.95, which has Camarena Silver, lime juice, chili simple syrup, watermelon syrup, and grapefruit soda. Spicy Watermelon Paloma The three words that come to our mind are sweet, sour, and spicy! It burns right at the top of your throat in the best way. We’re not sure whether the spice comes from the chili garnish or the simple syrup, but it was definitely there. The watermelon syrup was the other dominant flavor, which was offset by the sour grapefruit soda and lime juice. For our entrée, we had the Pastor Pork Tenderloin for $30.95, which came with marinated pork tenderloin, grilled pineapple salsa, white onion, cilantro-lime rice, adobo sauce, and micro cilantro. Pastor Pork Tenderloin While the tenderloin was a little hard to cut through, it was pretty juicy on the inside. Not quite as tender as we hoped, but we liked the black pepper seasoning on the outside, which was fairly strong. The pork didn’t have much of a crust, but overall, we enjoyed the flavor. The adobo sauce was a highlight, as it perfectly complemented the pork with its spice. The spice isn’t too hot, but it elevated the flavor and paired well with the sweet pineapple salsa. The rice was fluffy, but the price was where we felt a little lost. Most of the dish is rice, and $30 is a lot for the entree, which did have good flavor but didn’t blow us away. Juicy but a bit tougher than we would like Finally, we ended with Funfetti Funnel Cake for $12.45. This is a funnel cake with vanilla ice cream, orange cream cheese frosting, berry jam, and fruity pebbles, so no sprinkles here! Funfetti Funnel Cake The funnel cake was crunchy and fluffy, and we really enjoyed the ice cream. The berry jam was the dominating flavor and overpowered the orange cream cheese frosting. The fruity pebbles added a fun crunch, too. Was it wildly unique? No, but it was a fun option that the whole table could enjoy. Lots of fruity pebbles Overall, we’re not sure we would run back for the Pastor Pork Tenderloin, but we did enjoy our Lavender Margarita and funnel cake. In general, City Works has many comforting, familiar dishes and usually has room for larger parties, so it can be a great place to stop by, even if you don’t order the new menu items. New menu These dishes are only available now through June 16th, so if something is striking your fancy, make sure you get over to City Works soon. 25. There are few things more exciting than the start of a Disney World vacation. The anticipation, the planning, and the travel all culminate with arrival at one of Disney’s hotels and enjoying all the perks that go along with them. The Monorail INSIDE Contemporary Resort However, there are a few things any guest checking in needs to keep in mind, especially when it comes to one of Disney’s newest – and most popular – resort perks. In January 2025, Disney introduced a new water park perk for hotel guests, which gave each member of their party admission to one of Walt Disney World’s water parks — Blizzard Beach or Typhoon Lagoon — on their check-in day. Blizzard Beach The perk proved popular, especially during the summer months, when Disney had BOTH water parks open simultaneously for the first time in years. Typhoon Lagoon While the first iteration of the offer ended with the dawning of 2026, it will be returning as part of the Cool Kids Summer promotion from May 26th to September 8th. Typhoon Lagoon So, it’s a slam dunk given that you should take advantage of the free water park ticket on your check-in day, right? Well… maybe. The water park is undeniably beneficial for some Disney World guests, but whether you’re among them is another matter. There are some things you need to consider, starting with what time you are scheduled to arrive at your hotel. Will it allow the needed turnaround time to get ready and head to the water park with enough time to enjoy it? The parks are usually open until 6:00 PM, at the latest 7:00 PM during peak times. So, if you’re flying, for example, a flight arriving at MCO any later than 11:00 AM may be too late. Blizzard Beach Beyond timing, you may also want to take your travel day into account. A flight – or long drive, for that matter – that allows you to arrive early enough to get to your hotel and, in turn, to one of the water parks on time, it’s likely to have been a very early and very tiring day. It may be more relaxing to grab a bite and spend time at the hotel pool after travel day. Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort Courtyard Pool A few further tips for your check-in day: Look up dining and transportation options before arrival to have an idea of your plans. Be prepared for your room to potentially not be ready if you arrive too early. Pop Century’s lobby Next time you’re checking into a Walt Disney World hotel, be sure to heed these warnings about your check-in day so your trip starts on the right foot.
