Everyone knows Delta Airlines for their quality service, operational reliability, and comfortable seats. But our favorite thing about flying Delta is by far the free Biscoff cookies! These guys might be the only reason we fly Delta! ©Delta If you’re also a fellow Biscoff fan, then we have to break some terrible news to you. According to USA Today, Delta is changing its snack policy! If you’re taking a short Delta Airlines flight on or after May 19th, you won’t receive food and beverage service! The Atlanta-based airline will no longer provide any food or beverage service on flights of 349 miles or less. This move will remove snack distribution from around 450 daily flights, which is just under 10% of their routes. ©Delta “Beginning May 19th, Delta is adjusting onboard beverage service to create a more consistent experience across our network,” a Delta spokesperson told USA TODAY. “Even on the small number of flights without beverage service, our crew will continue to be visible, available, and focused on caring for our customers, like they do on every flight.” ©Getty Images Delta will still offer full food and beverage service on flights of 350 miles or more for Delta Comfort and Delta Main Cabin passengers, which is about 14% of its daily flights. And even on flights of 349 miles or less, First Class passengers will still have access to complimentary snacks. They’re the exact same cookies minus the Delta Airlines branding! While they’re not free, you can often find value packs at Costco or Sam’s Club for a great discount. ©Lotus Delta joins other major U.S. carriers that don’t provide in-flight service on short flights. On United Airlines, snacks are only offered on flights over 300 miles. In addition, American Airlines doesn’t offer food and beverages on flights that are under 250 miles. ©American Airlines This isn’t the only change hitting Delta soon. The airline will axe seven popular routes this summer due to rising fuel costs. The routes being affected include: Boston Logan International Airport (BOS) and Lynden Pindling International Airport in Nassau, Bahamas (NAS) Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport (DTW) and Northwest Florida Beaches International Airport (ECP) Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport (DTW) and Sacramento International Airport (SMF) John F. Today is a BIG day for The Walt Disney Company. That’s because the company just released its second quarter 2026 earnings report and had its first earnings call with its new CEO, Josh D’Amaro. ©Disney During the earnings call, we learned some pretty important things about how the company is doing. We learned about theme park attendance, as well as how the company’s streaming is doing, how the company is doing financially, and more. D’Amaro also shared some important details on his goals for The Walt Disney Company in 2026. So let’s take a look at them! According to The Wall Street Journal, D’Amaro wrote a letter of almost 3,000 words to Disney shareholders outlining his vision for the future of the company. In the letter, as well as during the earnings call, D’Amaro stressed four priorities: Investing in creative storytelling During the earnings call, D’Amaro spoke about how creativity is central to the execution of every strategy Disney puts together. This includes investing in existing franchises, but also expanding original ideas and stories. According to Disney’s earnings report, part of this strategy includes “Investing in IP and creativity that breaks through, builds connections, and endures.” This includes Pixar, which has seen a total of eight original films since 2017. This includes Hoppers, which was released earlier this year, but also the upcoming Gatto, which will be released in 2027. ©Disney Disney recently unified its Entertainment content businesses under Dana Walden, the company’s new President and Chief Creative Officer, to support “a cohesive vision across film, television, streaming, and games.” D’Amaro also stressed that storytelling is central to ESPN’s success, and mentioned Disneyland Paris’ World of Frozen, which recently opened, about how the company took a franchise’s intellectual property (IP) to make it an immersive experience for fans. Strengthening Streaming D’Amaro also wants to focus on continuing to strengthen Disney’s streaming platforms. Disney+ and Hulu profits went up 88% in the most recent quarter, thanks to subscriber growth, price increases, and improvements made with advertising. Disney also wants to focus on driving Disney+ growth outside the U.S. and is seeing early success with local original programming. ©Disney The company is also looking to build Disney+ into something beyond a premium streaming video service by making it “more engaging, more personalized, and more central to how fans experience our brands.” This could include creating a super app, where fans can interact with everything Disney on one central platform. Capturing the power of live sports via ESPN Disney is also doubling down on “the power of sports to aggregate live, passionate audiences across our platforms.” Not only does live sports attract new subscribers, but it also offers marketers engaged audiences. Disney believes ESPN is positioned well to serve fans in this aspect. ©Disney Over time, Disney will continue to build live sports into streaming, with ESPN being core to that strategy. In Q2 2026, ESPN had the largest share of linear sports consumption among total viewers, although it was competing against both the Super Bowl and the Olympics. The strategy for ESPN will be continued innovation with a focus on new content partners and distributing through direct and wholesale channels. Delivering on bold growth plans at experience As we’ve seen, there’s been a new focus on expanding U.S. theme parks, with major expansion projects happening at both Disney World and Disneyland. This also includes the growth of Disney Cruise Line, which can be seen with the recent launch of the Disney Adventure, which is based in Singapore. Several more ships will be making their Disney Cruise Line debuts soon. Disney Adventure However, Disney is also starting to think about other experiences that aren’t theme park or cruise-related, including games, stressing that games are a medium where younger audiences tend to go to engage with characters and stories. The report points out that its collaboration with Epic Games is central to these efforts, including Fortnite. In Fortnite, Disney characters are among the most popular. Disney just dropped some MAJOR news that guests planning a 2027 trip NEED to know! Blooming Rose The Disney Dining Plan has long been a favorite offering amongst Disney guests. In fact, many 2026 guests are taking advantage of Disney’s free dining plan offer this year! However, there are even more special offers on tap for next year! While 2026 is still far from over, Disney has already started dropping info on savings for 2027. The first offers 20% on dining for kids (ages 3 to 9) when a guest purchases a package that includes a Dining Plan for their family. Now, admittedly, this is a bit of a step down from the “Kids Eat Free” offer from 2026, but it’s still a massive savings that will add up when booking. Meeting at tables The second is specifically for guests visiting Disney World from the United Kingdom and Ireland, who are eligible for a Free Disney Dining Plan discount. To qualify, they’ll need to book a full-price Walt Disney World package, which includes the hotel and park tickets, for a minimum of five nights and a maximum of 21 nights. The package needs to be booked by November 4th, 2026, for most arrival dates between January 3rd and December 19th, 2027. Fish and Chips Arguably, the best part is that those deals can be paired with a REVAMPED version of the plan, as Disney is introducing a NEW Dining Plan Tier for the first time in years! Before we get to the latest offering, a quick rundown of the traditional tiers that Disney has offered since the COVID pandemic: There’s the Quick Service Dining Plan that offers the basics, as each member of the travel party ages 3 and up receives: 2 Quick-Service Meals Per Night of Stay 1 Snack or Nonalcoholic Beverage Per Night of Stay 1 Resort-Refillable Drink Mug Chicken Tenders at Cosmic Ray’s The Quick Service Dining Plan will cost $62.78 per adult per night, ages 10 and up, and $25.82 per child per night, ages 3 to 9, in 2027. The traditional Disney Dining Plan offers “classic dining options at both quick-service and table-service restaurants,” as everyone in the party ages 3 and up receives: 1 Quick-Service Meal Per Night of Stay 1 Table-Service Meal Per Night of Stay 1 Snack or Nonalcoholic Beverage Per Night of Stay 1 Resort-Refillable Drink Mug Sustainable Verlasso Salmon This plan will cost $99.87 per adult per night, ages 10 and up, and $31.94 per child per night, ages 3 to 9 in 2027. Next year, the plan will be renamed the Table-Service Dining Plan. The reason for that name change? 2027 will see the introduction of the NEW Disney Deluxe Table-Service Dining Plan, which will include: Two table service entrées, dessert (lunch and dinner only), OR full buffet. Guests under 21 years of age can choose one non-alcoholic beverage with their Quick Service and Table Service meal. Guests 21 and older can choose either one non-alcoholic beverage (including specialty beverages where offered) or one single serving mixed cocktail, beer, or wine. One quick service meal, including entrée OR combo meal. One snack/nonalcoholic drink One Resort refillable drink mug per person, per package Oysters Rockefeller The new plan will cost $163.01 per adult per night, ages 10 and up, and $46.85 per child per night, ages 3 to 9. It looks like we’re going to have to retrain ourselves, because Virtual Queue is coming back to Disney World! Hollywood Studios Disney’s Hollywood Studios is undergoing a lot of construction for upcoming projects. Monstropolis is progressing rapidly, and we’re getting ready for the opening of both the Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets and the Walt Disney Studios. Disney announced that Annual Passholder previews are coming for The Muppets rollercoaster, and the virtual queue is coming with it. Annual Passholder previews are coming for Rock ‘n’ Rollercoaster Starring The Muppets on May 21st, 22nd, and 23rd. Disney confirmed that Annual Passholders will have to join a virtual queue in order to get a chance at riding the ride. Rock ‘n’ Rollercoaster Starring The Muppets For these previews, the virtual queue is going to have three windows of opportunity for Passholders to join. The first virtual queue will open at 7 AM for Passholders with a Hollywood Studios reservation. The second virtual queue will open at 11 AM for Passholders with a reservation to any park for that day. However, you’ll need to scan into whatever park holds your reservation before heading to Hollywood Studios. The third, and final virtual queue, will open at 3 PM for Passholders with valid admission — no park reservation is required. Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets Make sure you’re on the My Disney Experience app, and you’re ready when the times hit. Virtual queues can fill up very fast, and it might leave you with nothing. Once it’s full, it won’t reopen till the next window. Once all those are full, you’ll have to wait for the next day. Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets Virtual Queue was briefly at Hollywood Studios for Star Wars Day on May the 4th. The virtual queue was being used for shopping experiences to get exclusive merchandise. So, you may have had the chance to get yourself a little used to the system, if you participated, since Disney World hasn’t used this system for a little while now. May the 4th With the virtual queue system coming back for The Muppets rollercoaster Passholder previews, it has us wondering if it’s coming back for anything else. The new version of Millennium Falcon Smugglers Run, featuring Mando and Grogu, debuts on May 22nd, but there hasn’t been any word of a virtual queue to preview that. ©Disney Looking very far ahead in the future, some of the new lands at Hollywood Studios, Animal Kingdom, and Magic Kingdom could be using a virtual queue for previews. Disney hasn’t said anything yet (which makes sense considering they aren’t close to done), but it wouldn’t be surprising. We’re not anticipating virtual queue will be used for everyday guests when those lands open, but it’s been used in the past for attractions, so there’s always that possibility. Encanto is coming to Animal Kingdom! For now, we’ll focus on the virtual queue that is coming for Rock ‘n’ Rollercoaster Starring The Muppets, before the attraction officially opens for guests on May 26th. Remember, the virtual queue will be for Annual Passholders only! Once the attraction opens to the public on the 26th, Disney has confirmed that they are not using virtual queues. ©Disney We can’t wait for the new version of the popular roller coaster to open. When it comes to dining at Disney World, you’ve got a TON of options, and that’s especially true if you’re heading into EPCOT! There are dozens of restaurants, a mix of quick service and table service, and so many of them have cuisine from all around the world. Eton Mess We recently stopped by Rose & Crown in the UK Pavilion to see what was cookin’, and now we’re bringing you our FULL review. Is stopping here worth the time you could be spending riding Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure or Test Track? Let’s find out! Atmosphere Rose & Crown is a cozy, small restaurant that you’ve likely walked right past many times. You can often find bar patrons spilling out the front doors, giving the impression that this is only a bar, but that’s not true! There’s a whole restaurant inside, where you can sit down and enjoy some classic British eats. Rose & Crown The dining room has a warm, cozy atmosphere with lots of wood fixtures and traditional decorations, so much so that you’ll really feel like you’ve been transported over to the United Kingdom! It’s not overly bright or overwhelming, though — the magic is in the details, so you’ll want to look closely for them. Inside As this spot isn’t the largest, and it’s often a stop for many people drinking around the world, this spot can often get pretty noisy, especially if the pianist is playing! This is especially true as it gets later on in the evening, so if that’s potentially an issue, we recommend making your dining reservation for earlier in the day. It’s cozy This time, we got to sit outside, which offers a lovely view of the water. So you can imagine this is also a great spot to reserve if you want to watch Luminous: The Symphony of Us, EPCOT’s nighttime show. Outdoor seating But enough about the restaurant — what’s on the menu here?! Menu The menu here isn’t overly large, so if you’re looking for something that has LOTS of options for everyone in your party to find something perfect, this may not be the best fit. For an appetizer, you can grab either the Coronation Salad or Scotch Egg, and there are just four entrees on the menu: Fish and Chips, Bangers and Mash, Cottage Pie, and Tikka Masala. Menu To top the meal off, you can select Sticky Toffee Pudding and/or Eton Mess for dessert. While there is a kids’ menu, they’ll get a House Salad as their appetizer, either Grilled Chicken or Fish and Chips for their entree, and then a Fruit Salad or Chocolate Caterpillar Cake for dessert. Eats First up, we grabbed the Cottage Pie for $30. It’s made with Braised Beef, Root Vegetables, English Peas, Jus, and Mashed Potatoes with Irish Cheddar. This has replaced the Shepherd’s Pie on the menu, but it’s very similar. The only real difference is that the meat is more like a pot roast kind of meat, rather than ground beef, like it was before. The braised beef is nice and tender, too. Cottage pie The potatoes are fluffy, and with the cheese on top, and then you have that salty and gooey crust. There’s a nice texture from the carrots and peas. Overall, this is a hearty, comforting dish that can make you feel nostalgic, even if you’ve never had it before. These aren’t super unique flavors, but they are familiar and beloved. It’s hearty We also wanted to try a new dessert here, the Eton Mess. This is a traditional English dessert with Strawberries, Whipped Cream, and Meringue for $9. It’s believed to have been created at Eton College and is usually served at the annual Eton College cricket match when playing Harrow School. So this dessert has a WHOLE history going on for it. This is also the plant-based option for dessert at Rose & Crown. It’s simple and light, and if you’ve had a heavy meal, it’s perfect. What it looks like The fresh strawberries were in a syrup, so they’re sweeter than tart. The meringue is fluffy and offers a nice complement to the strawberries. Even if you’re not looking for a plant-based dessert, this is a nice option. It’s light and refreshing Finally, we had to try the new kids’ dessert, the Chocolate Caterpillar Cake. So this cake is based on a similar cake sold in Marks & Spencer, a U.K. department store (there, it’s called Colin the Caterpillar). It’s generally a lot bigger than this one, and a popular cake for kids’ birthdays. It’s got chocolate mousse with a chocolate shell, M&Ms, and a chocolate biscuit on the bottom. The chocolate shell has a nice snap, and then inside is a creamy, fluffy mousse. Chocolate Caterpillar Cake The chocolate cookie has a nice crunch and adds a lovely texture. Kids are going to love this Like in the actual U.K., we can imagine this will be VERY popular with the kiddos. But, honestly, we enjoyed it, too! Nosh or Not This Disney World restaurant is a must-visit if… You’re looking for traditional British fare while you’re at Disney World. This cozy little pub tucked into EPCOT’S United Kingdom pavilion offers a hearty, delicious menu of British favorites, including Shepherd’s Pie and Fish and Chips. And, of course, plenty of beer! You want World Showcase Lagoon views. Rose & Crown offers both indoor and outdoor seating, and the outdoor seating has excellent views of World Showcase Lagoon. You can also purchase a Fireworks Dining Package for this location with dedicated views of Luminous. You want familiar eats in a pub-like setting. While there are plenty of unique options around EPCOT, there’s something to be said for dining somewhere that might be a bit more familiar to you while you’re on vacation. You should skip this Disney World spot if… You’re looking for a wide variety of choices on the menu. While the food at Rose & Crown is delightful, there aren’t many options available. If you want more variety, consider booking a reservation somewhere like Garden Grill or Biergarten. You want to dine somewhere more unique. Chances are, you want to try something different while you’re on vacation. Rose & Crown offers more favorites that you might be familiar with, so if you want something more unique, consider Shiki-Sai: Sushi Izakaya or Space 220. You’re looking for a quick and light bite to eat. The dishes here are hearty British fare, which means you might be feeling fuller than you’d like when walking around a theme park after your meal. If you’ve got a jam-packed day, or it’s immensely hot outside, that may not be what you’d prefer. Overall Rose & Crown Dining Room might have a small menu, but every dish we’ve tried here has always been solidly good. It’s also nice to be able to sit by the water and look out over EPCOT. The servers are very attentive and well-informed on the dishes, as well as their significance to the U.K. Dining here feels cozy, while the food feels hearty, and it almost feels like coming home after a long day at the park. WHAT is going on with the crowds in Disney’s theme parks?! Are they getting worse? Or are things slowing down, perhaps providing you with a glorious little window to visit without feeling like you’re being squished by hundreds of people around you? Well, we’ve got a bit of insight. Ronto Roasters On May 6th, 2026, Disney released its earnings report and held its earnings call for the second quarter of fiscal year 2026 (Q2 of FY 2026). Thanks to this report, we got a peek behind the curtain when it comes to the finances at Disney. AND it gave us an interesting look at attendance trends at Disney’s theme parks. For context, during the last earnings call (Q1 of FY 2026), attendance at the domestic parks was up 1% in the quarter, and per capita spending was up 4% in the domestic parks. Domestic parks brought in about $6.9 billion in revenue, and international parks account for about $1.7 billion. Galaxy’s Edge So just how did this go in Q2? Well, Disney revealed that for Q2 of FY 2026, attendance has actually gone down! So many people! Compared to the prior-year quarter, domestic park attendance has gone down 1%, while per capita spending at the domestic parks was up 5%. Disney believes that the current dip is due to reduced international travel and the “macroeconomic uncertainty consumers are facing today.” Despite the decrease in attendance, the report states that “current demand at our domestic parks and resorts is healthy.” And they expect attendance to remain positive year-over-year. Magic Kingdom means LOTS of walking Disney is working on a variety of projects for the theme parks that could bring in more crowds (and increase spending) in the coming years. At Disney World alone, we’re looking at a Villains land in Magic Kingdom, a Cars-themed space in Magic Kingdom, a Monsters, Inc. space in Hollywood Studios, Pueblo Esperanza in Animal Kingdom, a brand-new hotel, and much more. It will be interesting to see just how these impact attendance and other financial figures in the coming years. ©Disney Even with this dip, the crowds in Disney can be intense, so if you’re looking to beat some of the crowds, you may want to consider visiting during those times when Disney World tends to be a little bit emptier. Or, you can look into paying for Disney’s Lightning Lane service to help you skip the standby lines. It’s that time again, friends. Disney has dropped some huge announcements you do NOT want to miss, and we’ve got all the details right here. Cinderella Castle On May 6th, 2026, Disney held its earnings call (and released its earnings report) for the second quarter of fiscal year 2026 (Q2 FY 26). Importantly, this is the first earnings call held under the leadership of Disney’s NEW CEO — Josh D’Amaro — since Bob Iger stepped down from his CEO position as of March 17th. While most of the quarter took place under Iger’s leadership, it’s still interesting to see D’Amaro taking over the reins. In this call, we got updates on Disney’s financial position as a whole, just how the theme parks are doing, what things are looking like financially when it comes to Disney’s movies, and MORE. So now, let’s dive into ALL the updates! 1. Overall Financial Position Let’s start with an overall view of the company’s finances. Through this earnings call and report, Disney revealed that in Q2, the company saw “stronger-than-expected” revenue growth, which outperformed prior guidance. Revenues increased 7% for the second quarter to $25.2 billion from $23.6 billion in Q2 fiscal year 2025. The Walt Disney Company Income before income taxes increased 9% to $3.4 billion from $3.1 billion in Q2 fiscal 2025, while total segment operating income increased 4% to $4.6 billion from $4.4 billion in Q2 fiscal 2025. Diluted earnings per share (EPS) decreased to $1.27 from $1.81 in Q2 fiscal 2025, and adjusted EPS increased to $1.57 from $1.45 in Q2 fiscal 2025. Those are some strong numbers! Now, let’s see just how each of the different divisions within the Company did this past quarter. 2. Disney+, Streaming & Entertainment Now, it’s on to the world of the movies, streaming, TV shows, Hulu, and all that fun. For Q2, Disney reported revenues of $11.7 billion, up 10% from the same time last year, along with an operating income of $1.3 billion, up 6%. AMC at Disney Springs During Q2, Disney released Pixar’s Hoppers in theaters. But there’s much more to come in the next few months. 2026 will also see the release of The Mandalorian & Grogu on May 22nd, Toy Story 5 on June 19th, the live-action Moana on July 10th, Hexed on November 25th, and and Avengers: Doomsday on December 18th. Disney Experiences — Theme Parks, Cruise Line & Merchandise Now, let’s tackle the Disney Experiences division. This is the division that covers Disney’s theme parks around the world, Disney Cruise Line, and Disney merchandise. During this past quarter, Disney was BUSY with the debut of the Disney Adventure cruise ship, the reopening of Frozen Ever After in EPCOT with some updates, and the opening of Disney Adventure World at Disneyland Paris Resort. Disney Adventure Cruise Ship For Q2 of FY 2026, Disney reported revenues of $9.5 billion, an increase of 7% over Q2 fiscal year 2025. Operating income came in at $2.6 billion, which was up 5% from the same time last year. Global guests (which aggregates domestic and international parks attendance along with passenger cruise days) grew 2% compared to the prior-year quarter. Attendance at the domestic parks declined 1% when compared to the prior-year quarter, which Disney partly attributes to “continued softness in international visitation.” Meet Mickey at Red Carpet Dreams The rest of 2026 is sure to be a busy one when it comes to this division. Disney has already reopened Big Thunder Mountain Railroad in Magic Kingdom with some updates. The new Soarin’ Across America is set to debut on May 26th. A new Bluey experience is coming to Animal Kingdom, Cool KIDS’ Summer is returning with all kinds of special offerings, the Muppet-retheme of Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster will debut soon, the Walt Disney Studios area in Hollywood Studios will open, a new mission will come to Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run, and MORE. During the last quarter, Disney announced a deal with the NFL in which the NFL will be a minority owner of ESPN. And it was revealed that the Savannah Bananas will have a 25-game exclusive package with ESPN and Disney+ for 2026. In terms of Q2, Disney reported that revenue was at $4.6 billion for the quarter, up 2% from the same time last year. Once you’ve visited Disney World a few times (or a lot of times), you start to develop a few personal “rules.” Some are all about strategy (because rope drop is basically a must for some), some revolve around food (we’re looking at you, DOLE Whip), and others are tied to Disney’s technology, like MagicBands making park days smoother and more convenient. MagicBand+ display in Magic Kingdom But here’s the thing: some of the most common MagicBand “rules” might actually be doing the opposite by costing you extra money and adding unnecessary hassle. As Disney World continues to update its technology, it’s worth rethinking how we use these wearable devices. Whether you’re planning your very first trip or you’re a seasoned park pro heading back for visit number fifteen, here are three MagicBand rules that Disney experts know are meant to be broken. Rule #1 to Break: “You Need a New MagicBand” One of the most unnecessary costs when planning a Disney trip is thinking you need to buy a brand-new MagicBand every single time you visit. In reality, your older MagicBands can still do the job just fine! Original MagicBands and MagicBand+ styles usually have batteries that last for several years — typically around 2 to 3 years based on our experience. Even once that battery runs out, the built-in RFID chip continues to handle basic features like park entry and Lightning Lane redemption. So yes, that older MagicBand in your drawer may still be ready for another park day. MagicBand+ If you’re set on adding a new one to your collection, there’s a smarter way to save. Be sure to check out Disney Character Warehouse outlet stores around Orlando, where you can often find MagicBands at a much lower price. As a reminder, Disney World resort guests no longer receive the discounted price when ordering a MagicBand+ as they did previously. MagicBand+ Rule #2 to Break: “Always Buy the Latest MagicBand+” When Disney introduced MagicBand+ in 2022, it felt like the must-have upgrade — more features, more interactivity, and supposedly even more magic. But for many guests who rushed to buy one, the big question quickly became: Is the “plus” really worth the extra price and effort? MagicBand+ The biggest downside? Battery life. Unlike traditional MagicBands, which can last for years without ever needing a charge, MagicBand+ requires regular charging. A fully charged battery usually lasts about 1 to 1.5 days, so you’ll likely need to plug it in every night at your hotel. Because apparently, vacation relaxation now includes fighting over outlet space in the resort room. MagicBand+ Solve the Outlet Problem With This! MultiCharger for MagicBand+ To solve the outlet space issue, we use this MultiCharger for MagicBand+ and MagicBands. Charge all your MagicBands using only one outlet in your hotel room while on a Disney trip. Outlets are scarce in all hotel rooms, so don’t get caught in a situation after a perfect day at Disney World, where you don’t have enough outlets in your Disney Resort Hotel Room to charge all your phones, tablets, and MagicBand+. Have this device ready. view ON AMAZON So what are you paying extra for? MagicBand+ lights up and vibrates during nighttime shows and unlocks interactive experiences like the Batuu Bounty Hunters game in Galaxy’s Edge. While those features sound fun, many Disney fans find them pretty minor and not exactly worth the higher price tag or the daily charging routine. Bounty Hunters You may want to stick with a standard MagicBand if you’d rather avoid charging one more device on vacation, have no interest in the Star Wars: Batuu Bounty Hunters game, prefer a less tech-heavy park experience, or you’re traveling with a larger family where those upgrade costs can add up fast. MagicBand+ Rule #3 to Break: “Everyone Needs a MagicBand” Disney (and from what you read online) might make you believe that MagicBands are essential to the Disney World experience. Those colorful wristbands have become almost as iconic as Mickey ears for many visitors. It may not feel like it, but we ARE halfway to Halloween, believe it or not! Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party is around the corner! Before we know it, Disney World will be covered in Halloween decorations, and it’ll be time to start heading into Magic Kingdom for Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party — one of the most anticipated events of the year! If you’re thinking of heading to the party this year, you’re likely gearing up to grab tickets when they go on sale for all guests on May 12th (they’re currently on sale for those with Disney World hotel reservations!). Before you hit checkout, however, these are the things we NEED you to know! Check Your Calendar (Then Check It AGAIN) We can’t tell you how many times we hear about guests who are so excited to book their tickets that they don’t check their calendars first. Once they’ve already checked out and are feeling great that they got their tickets for that date before they sold out, then they look at their calendar and realize they won’t be available and need to change their dates. At that point, you need to call Disney to request the switch, and there’s no guarantee it’ll even be allowed, and other dates may be sold out as well. Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party To avoid this, we recommend FULLY checking your calendar at least a few days in advance of when you plan to purchase your tickets. We don’t just mean a quick glance, either. We mean you sit down, look at every single day you plan to be gone to attend the event, think about your travel plans, and make sure it can work. As some dates can sell out fast, we also recommend having 2-3 backup plans in place for other dates, that way you don’t get stuck if the one you were looking at is already sold out! Really Research The Event Believe it or not, Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party isn’t for everyone! While you and I may feel like it’s one of the best ways to spend the Halloween season in the parks, for other people, it may not be their cup of tea. To make sure this won’t happen to you, we recommend reading through the whole page Disney has dedicated to the event on their website to really see if all the offerings are up your alley. Hocus Pocus Villain Spelltacular This event is home to lots of special entertainment, trick-or-treating all over the park, exclusive meet and greets, snacks you won’t be able to grab any other time, but still, it’s sometimes not a fit. We also recommend watching videos and reviews from previous years to get a feel — good news, though, we’ve been EVERY year for at LEAST the past decade, so we’re your one stop shop! Can You Stay Up Late? Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party officially takes place from 7 PM to 12 AM each night, but guests with a party ticket can enter Magic Kingdom as early as.4 PM. That means it’s going to be a LATE night, and it’s important to take into account if you can/want to stay up that late. Whether it’s because you yourself don’t prefer to be up that long, or you’re thinking that other members of your party (especially kiddos) won’t be able to, it may not be a good fit. Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party These tickets are NOT cheap, so, in our experience, to make the most of that price, you’re going to want to stay in the parks for as long as possible to really experience the whole event. Lots of party offerings happen later on in the night, and you can get in line for attractions right up until 12 AM, so while it’s not a full day, there is a LOT you can do to make your ticket worth it. But if you choose to leave the park at 10 PM? You may leave feeling like your ticket wasn’t worth it. Plan For The Next Day As we said, this is a LATE night, so we also recommend planning in advance to give yourself rest the next day. The day after the party will NOT be the time to rope drop and spend a park day open to close, or make an 8 AM dining reservation. Instead, we recommend factoring in a rest day, or at the very least, allowing yourself to sleep in and spend a chill morning at your hotel before heading into the parks later in the day. Jack Skellington and Sally at Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party Now, you may think it’s best to go, go, go, and make the absolute most of your vacation, which we understand! But, we speak from experience, you’ll end up exhausted and unable to actually enjoy the rest of your trip, and then you may feel like the whole TRIP wasn’t worth it, solely because you’re exhausted and not allowing yourself to rest. Watch Out For Those Uber Popular Dates This year, Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party runs from August 7th through October 31st, 2026, and there WILL be dates in there that are more expensive, and therefore more popular, than others. If you’re looking to AVOID those most popular dates, October as a whole will be the month to avoid, but especially as it gets later into the month. Additionally, Friday nights and weekends will be more popular than dates during the week. We’ve got some big news in Disney’s live-action film world! The Hollywood Reporter has reported that Diego Luna, most known in the Disney world as starring as the titular character in the Star Wars series Andor which earned him Emmy, Golden Globe, and Critics Choice Awards nominations, will be joining the cast of the live-action Tangled. His character, however, is a role that was specifically created for the feature film, meaning that none of us will be familiar with the character from the original animated film. ©Disney Tangled will begin filming in Spain this June, which is just a few short weeks away. Michael Gracey will be directing the feature, which will have large musical numbers just like the original, but it’s unclear if Luna’s character will be expected to sing and dance. Kristin Burr via her company, Burr! Productions, Jennifer Kaytin Robinson and Michael Montemayor are the screenwriters, and Jessica Virtue is the executive VP of production who is overseeing the project for Disney Live Action. ©Disney Looking for more recent Disney media news? When it comes to dining at Disney World, you’ve got a TON of options. That’s VERY true over in EPCOT, where you’ve got dozens of restaurants with unique cuisine from all around the world in World Showcase. That’s far from all the restaurants in the park, though, because you’ve also got the spots up at the front of the park. Time to eat at Garden Grill! We recently stopped by Garden Grill for breakfast to see if there’s really a big difference (other than the menu offerings and price) between dining here early in the day vs. for lunch and dinner. Is it worth it to save some money dining at this character meal for breakfast and potentially struggle to get a reservation, or are they about the same? Let’s find out! Atmosphere The Land pavilion, where this restaurant is housed, is all about connecting with nature and highlighting the beauty of the world all around us. Garden Grill is no different! It sits on the top floor of the pavilion (which is the floor you enter on), and there’s something extra special about this restaurant — it rotates! Garden Grill Don’t worry, it doesn’t spin fast at all. It’s just enough to where you’ll look up from eating and all of a sudden realize your surroundings are different. The back of the restaurant also overlooks Living with the Land, one of two rides in the pavilion that shows you how EPCOT grows food. Looking out over Living with the Land! There’s an inner ring and outer ring of the restaurant, and while you may get better views of the ride in the outer ring, you’ll still get a pretty good view if you’re in the inner ring. The characters will also come around and see you no matter where you’re sitting, which is also a very special part of this experience. You’ll get to say hello to Chip, Dale, Mickey, and Pluto, and see all of them dressed in their adorable farm outfits. Hi, Mickey! But enough about the restaurant — what’s on the menu here?! Menu This is a prix-fixe menu that’s served family style, meaning that you’ll get a plate (or multiple if you’ve got a lot of people in your group) of the different offerings on the menu, but you can ask for more of anything you’d like. Yes, they really mean that! If you want more of ONE item, you just ask, and they’ll make it happen. Our full platter! But how does it all taste? Let’s get into it! Drinks To drink, we picked up the Legacy Mimosa for $20.50, which is made with Uncle Nearest 1884 Small Batch Tennessee Whiskey, Grand Marnier Liqueur, Chateau Ste. Michelle Sparkling Wine, and Minute Maid Orange Juice. Legacy Mimosa This is a very well-balanced mimosa with a kick. The whiskey and Grand Marnier come together to add depth and more orange flavor without overwhelming you with that orange taste. You can still taste the sparkling wine, the whiskey, and the Grand Marnier, which makes for a more robust brunch cocktail. Eats The Chip & Dale Harvest Feast will cost you $49 for adults and $33 for kids 3-9, and comes with a loaf of Cinnamon Bread, fresh fruit (ours was watermelon), Mickey waffles, Backyard Grilled Steak, bacon, scrambled eggs, and skillet potatoes. Starting off with the Cinnamon Bread, this doesn’t look very gooey on the outside, but the inside hides layers of cinnamon that are so ooey-gooey and delicious. It’s almost like monkey bread in the middle, so tearing it apart is the best way to eat it, in our opinion. It wasn’t dry in the slightest and was a fantastic way to start off the meal. Cinnamon Bread We also got a plate of Watermelon along with the Cinnamon Loaf to start the meal, and this was so incredibly juicy and fresh, it tasted like it had just been cut that morning! It was so refreshing, especially on a summer day. The fruit can change, depending on the season, but if you get watermelon, rest assured, we don’t think you’ll be disappointed. Watermelon Then it was time for the actual skillet itself. The steak was the star of the show here, as it was so tender and perfectly cooked to a medium rare. Every bite was incredibly well seasoned and absolutely delicious, and it went so well with the scrambled eggs and the creamy skillet potatoes. The steak was the star! The potatoes are perfectly cooked and seasoned in a hash brown style with lots of creaminess baked in. We preferred to mix them in with the scrambled eggs, as those were pretty plain, so it added a bit more flavor to them. Skillet Potatoes The bacon is perfectly crunchy, not too soft or undercooked, but if you’re a fan of floppier bacon, this may not be the best fit for you. It also went well with the scrambled eggs, if you want a bit more flavor for them, but don’t want to combine them with the potatoes. Bacon We can’t forget about the Mickey Waffles, of course! They’re classic for a reason, and we think it’s a great way to finish off this savory platter with a little something sweet. And if you want more than two waffles, you can ask for them! Mickey Waffles! But is all this, plus the character dining experience, worth the cost? Nosh or Not This Disney World restaurant is a must-visit if… You’re looking for a fun meal with classic characters. Chip ‘n’ Dale’s Harvest Feast at Garden Grill Restaurant is hosted by the friendliest chipmunks around… and they’re joined by none other than Mickey Mouse and Pluto! These four characters provide ample entertainment that kids (and many adults) will likely love. You’re REALLY hungry and want a hearty meal to keep you full. Garden Grill serves up an all-you-care-to-enjoy Harvest Feast — and a feast it certainly is. The food is served tableside in skillets here, and it’s an all-you-can-eat feast with your family for Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner. You want a unique dining experience at a rotating restaurant. Since the earliest days of EPCOT, this restaurant has had many different styles, but has always been Disney World’s only rotating restaurant! Talk about something you can’t experience anywhere else on property. You should skip this Disney World spot if… You want a quick meal that won’t break the bank. While Garden Grill isn’t the most expensive prix fixe meal at Disney World, it doesn’t come cheap, especially for lunch and dinner. You’ll also be greeted by multiple characters throughout your meal, which can add some time to your reservation. If you’re looking for something quick in a similar atmosphere, try Sunshine Seasons, which is right downstairs! You’re not a fan of character meals. While we do enjoy the food here — it’s classic American fare that leans Southern — the main draws are the characters and the rotating restaurant. If you’re not after those vibes, consider finding somewhere else to eat. If you’re after some REALLY good and unique eats, check out Spice Road Table or Le Cellier. You’re looking for more unique eats. The menu here is probably similar to something you can find back at home, and with so many unique restaurants at EPCOT and Disney World, you might want to opt for something a little different than you’re used to. Overall This restaurant remains a very strong choice in EPCOT, especially for a hearty breakfast that’s fun, will appease a lot of people’s palettes, and is pretty centrally located in the park. If you know there’s something on the plate you/your family won’t eat a lot of, you can also let your server know ahead of time, and they’ll accommodate! And if you’re concerned about wasting food, there’s no need to stress — all food leftover is composted, so nothing goes to waste. Hi Chip! Disney World wouldn’t be able to run without the hard work of all the amazing Cast Members! ©North Carolina Zoo They truly are the reason behind the magic, and one of the most beloved Cast Members is officially leaving the company. It was just announced that Dr. Mark is ending his long career with Disney. Dr. Mark Penning has worked at Disney World for 14 years as the Vice President of Animals, Science, and Environment for Disney Experiences. In this role, he worked directly with Animal Kingdom, Animal Kingdom Lodge, and The Seas with Nemo and Friends. He has also earned Cast Member fame through his fun behind-the-scenes content on Instagram! @drmarkatdisney on Instagram He has over 80,000 followers and often posts about fun animal updates and when the new babies are born! However, after a long time at Disney, he is officially stepping down to start a new role as the Director of the North Carolina Zoo. ©Dr. Mark via Twitter (@drmarkatdisney) He will be taking on this role over this summer and has released a statement saying, “I am very excited to be moving to the beautiful state of North Carolina and joining the fabulous team at the North Carolina Zoo,” Penning said. “I have long admired the zoo with its stunningly picturesque setting, modern animal habitats, engaging experiences for visitors, and talented team of zoo professionals. They have created a world-class destination where families can connect with nature and with each other and experience the joy and wonder of being outdoors. Memorial Day is right around the corner (yes, somehow it’s May and Memorial Day Weekend is just a few weeks away — where has the time gone?), and that means crowds could be about to ramp up in Disney World again. Guest Relations Cast Member at Disney Springs This is especially true since the holiday also falls right around the time when some kids get out of school for the summer, and many families begin their holiday with a Disney trip. With all that in mind, knowing things may be more crowded for that weekend, we just want to make sure we’re all prepared — it’s POSSIBLE, but not guaranteed, that Disney could bring back their new unpopular bus rule in Disney Springs. In case you missed it, back near Easter, when spring break crowds coincided with the holiday crowds, Disney implemented a new rule for their buses leaving from Disney Springs. With this new rule, guests could only take the buses to hotels from Disney Springs if they have a hotel or dining reservation. It only stuck around for about a week, and then when crowds died down after Easter, the rule went away. Cast Members checking MagicBands However, a Cast Member did tell us at the time that it was possible the rule could come back during other busy times of year, and in our eyes, Memorial Day weekend crowds mashed with summer crowds? Yep, that might be grounds to bring it back, which means we could see this go into effect around Saturday, May 23rd, to Monday, May 25th. To enforce the rule, Disney had Cast Members stationed ahead of stanchions at each section of bus stops, checking MagicBands and the My Disney Experience App for guests’ reservations. This essentially cut out all chance of resort hopping, which we know is a bummer for many people, especially if they’re enjoying a day outside of the parks, but still on Disney property. Blockades put up If this is the case and the rule does go back into effect, there are a few ways we recommend working around it while you’re on vacation. It may take a little more time than usual, but in the long run, it may be better than spending money on a rideshare to get where you need to go. Our top recommendations are: Head to the parks first (even if you don’t walk inside), and then take a bus from there to any of the hotels Get yourself to the TTC (Ticket and Transportation Center), where you can then enjoy the hotels on the Monorail loop, or take the EPCOT Monorail to get access to the Skyliner resorts Disney Skyliner We’ll keep an eye out and be sure to let you know if we see this rule come back into play, so stay tuned to DFB! 5 Checked Bag Rules Airports Are Enforcing in 2026 Join the DFB Newsletter to get all the breaking news right in your inbox! These days, a lot of people are going to Disney World on a tight budget, and we totally get it. Magic Kingdom’s Cinderella Castle Disney World vacations keep getting more expensive year after year, and if you want to continue visiting and enjoying the magic with your family, you sometimes have to find creative solutions that help lighten the budget. That’s what we’re here for! We’ve gathered up some of the best solutions for planning a Disney trip on the cheap, and if you follow these, you can make your vacation much more affordable. Transportation Starting out with transportation, we’ll cover the priciest of the “cheap” options first. If you need to fly to get to Disney World, the best way to save money is with a budget airline. Some of our team’s go-tos when we need to save money are Frontier, Allegiant, and Breeze Airways. You can often find one-way flights for less than $100 per person when deals are running, but you do have to be careful of hidden fees. Budget airlines may charge extra for anything from carry-on baggage to seat selection. ©Breeze Airways Also, if you’re flying, you need to budget for airport transportation. One of the cheapest options out there is Mears Connect — it starts at $32 round-trip for adults and $26 round-trip for children. This is a shuttle service similar to the old Magical Express that will take you to your Disney Resort. Perhaps the cheapest option of all is using public transportation. It usually only costs a few dollars, and the bus system can take you around much of the Orlando area, but you’ll need to navigate the complex map of bus lines and deal with the woes of public transport. For the most direct option, you probably want to book a rideshare. Prices can vary for Uber and Lyft depending on the time of day, so this one is a bit harder to budget for. However, you’ll get to go directly from the airport to the hotel or wherever you’re staying. Mears Connect If you’re skipping flying altogether and driving to Disney World, you could save some significant dough (as long as gas prices aren’t too high!). Driving a car also allows you a bit of flexibility with transportation throughout your trip, and makes things simpler if you’re staying off-property. Here, the main costs you’ll need to consider are fuel and parking fees. If you’re not staying at a Disney World Resort, it costs $35 per day to park at the theme parks…and that’s just standard parking. Magic Kingdom parking Parking is free at the parks and hotels for Disney Resort guests. However, when staying at non-Disney hotels or other locations off Disney property, you will need to double-check and see if your hotel has an overnight parking fee. Those can add up quick! Learn More About Driving to Disney World Here Accommodations Now, on to hotels! The cheapest way to stay at a Disney Resort is to choose one from the Value category. Prices vary a bit within that group, but the All-Star Resorts tend to be the most affordable. The three hotels are themed to sports, movies, and music, and their prices for a standard room range from about $150/night to $300/night, depending on when you stay. The good news is that there are hotel discounts offered throughout the year in Disney World, and you can typically find ways to save on this rate. All-Star Music Resort If you’re willing to step outside the realm of Disney-owned hotels, we need to introduce you to the hidden gem that is the Disney Springs area. Near Disney Springs, there are a few hotels that are known as “Official Walt Disney World Hotels” that offer some of the same perks as the Disney-owned Resorts, and they’re right there on property. Pricing for these hotels is often under $200 a night. They do have resort fees, though, so you’ll need to factor that into your budget. But even with the fees, you can typically stay in a nice room very close to Disney Springs for cheaper than a Disney hotel. Drury Plaza Hotel Another good option is Disney World’s Good Neighbor hotels. These are hotels that are off Disney property but still in the area, and you can purchase ticket and hotel packages for them through Disney to secure a deal. This list of hotels includes some major name brands, and they sometimes offer transportation to the parks, though it could come at a fee. There will also be resort fees for staying at these hotels that you’ll need to factor in. Pricing varies, but you can still often stay at a Good Neighbor hotel for cheaper than you can stay on Disney property. Delta Orlando Of course, about the cheapest you can go is with something like an Airbnb or a budget hotel in the Disney World area. Here, you’ll have to do all the research to find the best deal, though you get more flexibility with your accommodations (more bedrooms and bathrooms if you need them). When shopping off property, make sure to find out if your rental comes with additional fees or parking charges, check out the distance to the parks, and factor in the cost of getting to Disney World property. Staying in Airbnbs can be a great way to immerse yourself in a residential neighborhood when you travel. You have to be careful with off-property options because occasionally, they can become just as expensive as staying in Disney World when you consider the pros like free Disney transportation or Early Theme Park Entry time in the parks. Why I Will Only Stay in a Non-Disney Hotel From Now On Tickets Okay, you’ve made it to Disney World, and you’ve got your place to stay. What about actually getting INTO the parks? When it comes to tickets, there are typically fewer “hacks” to get the price lower, though there are still a few methods you could try. First, make sure you’re purchasing the right tickets for your budget. If you’re doing a longer stay, go for one park per day, no Park Hopper. It’s a pricey add-on that doesn’t often get used. Even if you’re in Disney World for just a weekend, consider cutting out one or two parks so you don’t have to hop — it can waste a lot of your park day going from one park to another, and time is money, baby! Pandora Ticket deals aren’t quite as common as hotel deals, but sometimes Disney will sneak them into the Special Offers page. The most common deals are for Florida Residents or military personnel, but one offer we’ve seen a few times in recent years is the 3-day, 3-park ticket. This ticket typically gives a discounted rate with one day of entry each to EPCOT, Hollywood Studios, and Animal Kingdom. No Magic Kingdom entry, but you could buy that ticket separately or just skip that park if you’re in for a short trip. Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance More on the “hack” side of things, there are a few major retailers that sell Disney gift cards at a discounted rate from time to time. We’ve purchased them in the past at Sam’s Club, Costco, and Target. If you purchase those gift cards, then use them to purchase your tickets online, you’d technically be saving money on your tickets! Sam’s Club sometimes has discounted gift cards as well. Our biggest tip to keep in mind here is that you need to make sure you’re purchasing general Disney gift cards, NOT gift cards for Disney+. They are not the same! Learn More About the Gift Card Tips Here! Dining Throughout your trip, one big expense that you’ll encounter is dining. Eating in the Disney parks can be incredibly expensive and add up quickly (especially if you’ve got a group of snackers!), so you may want to consider trying to cut back on that part of your budget. The good news is that Disney World parks allow you to bring in your own food and snacks, so you can pack lunches and bring prepackaged treats for waiting in long lines if you’d like. One great way to pull this off is to place an Amazon Fresh delivery for groceries to arrive at your accommodations. They deliver to Disney Resorts and a variety of places off property, and you can get your favorite breakfast items, easy-carry snacks, and grab-and-go lunch options without having to bring them in your suitcase. ©Amazon And if you have some free time on your arrival or departure day, you can try to dine at restaurants off Disney World property. There are quite literally thousands of places to eat in the Orlando area, and you could have a sit-down meal much cheaper at many spots. One of my personal favorite hacks was to grab lunch or breakfast from the McDonald’s on Disney World property. It’s a bit more expensive than other McDonald’s locations, but it was still cheaper than ordering from Disney quick service restaurants (use the app to get deals!). The McDonald’s is located in the Animal Kingdom area, next to the All-Star Resorts. McDonald’s When you’re in the parks, this is another great way to use those discounted Disney gift cards. Save a little money on snacks and dining here and there. Learn More About Amazon Fresh Here! Souvenirs Finally, let’s chat about souvenirs! They’re technically the least necessary of the Disney purchases, but they’re a part of any vacation, nonetheless. To avoid relentless spending in the parks, you could purchase some Disney-themed items online via Amazon or Disney Store sales before your trip. Then the gifts could “magically” appear overnight in the hotel room at the start of your vacation for your kids. ODOCARE Minnie Ears from Amazon If you prefer to do your shopping in the area, many major retailers like Walmart and Target have souvenir sections in their Orlando-area stores. There, you’ll find mugs, autograph books, lanyards, ponchos, t-shirts, ears, hats, and pretty much any other basic souvenir. Sure, you might still want to get something directly from the parks, but there’s no need to spend too much on an autograph book in Disney World when you can get it for less. Let’s go to Target! So there you go — some of our best tips for saving and having the cheapest Disney vacation possible. As someone who LOVES to stay at a Disney World Deluxe Resort, I’ll let you in on a secret — I will choose this one hotel over those! Swan and Dolphin Resort If you’ve never seriously considered the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Resort, it’s time to change that. While they aren’t owned by Disney, they are operated by Marriott and are officially classified as Walt Disney World Deluxe Resorts, which means they come with many of the same perks as Disney’s top-tier hotels. Let’s dive into why you need to add this resort to your list. The Location These sister resorts sit right in the heart of Disney World, located in the EPCOT resort area between EPCOT and Hollywood Studios. That means you can stroll to EPCOT for a festival day, head back to your room for a midday break, or leave Hollywood Studios after park closing without standing in a long bus line. The ability to walk to two major parks dramatically changes the pace of your trip and adds flexibility that many other deluxe resorts simply can’t match. Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Guests can take a complimentary water taxi to EPCOT or Hollywood Studios, with boats departing approximately every 15 to 20 minutes. It’s a relaxing and scenic way to start or end the day. Complimentary bus transportation is also provided to all four theme parks and Disney Springs, running roughly every 20 to 30 minutes. You’re fully connected to the rest of Walt Disney World without sacrificing ease of access. Swan and Dolphin bus at Animal Kingdom The Food Another standout feature is dining. The Swan and Dolphin complex offers one of the largest collections of restaurants at any Disney-area hotel. From signature dining experiences to casual table-service restaurants, lounges, quick-service options, and coffee spots, there is an impressive variety without ever leaving the resort area. Bourbon Steak These hotels also carry Dr. Pepper — which is a small thing in comparison, but it’s one of the only places you can find this soda at Disney World! There are also coffee places located in the hotels that also have mobile ordering. So you can grab your coffee on the way to the parks? Sign me up! Room Service Unlike almost all of the Disney-owned hotels, the Swan and Dolphin also offer room service, which I cannot stress what a true deluxe amenity that can be a game-changer after a long park day. The menu comes from several of the restaurants in the hotels, so the food is fantastic! This has to be one of the most underrated perks of staying at the Swan and Dolphin. The food menu The Price Now let’s talk about cost because this is where the real surprise comes in. For a six-night stay in June, the Swan Resort totaled $2,143.81. For the same dates, a stay at Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa came to $2,318.43. That’s about $175 more to stay at Saratoga Springs, a Disney-owned deluxe resort that does not offer walkable access to two parks, has fewer dining options on site, and does not provide room service. World of Frozen is officially open at Disney Adventure World, and stepping into Arendelle for the very first time felt nothing short of extraordinary. To experience this new destination at Disneyland Paris from a truly unique perspective, we explored World of Frozen alongside Frozen 3 directors Jennifer Lee and Trent Correy of Walt Disney Animation Studios, whose connection to this story runs deep. As we walked together, they shared personal tips for discovering Arendelle: From easy-to-miss details to experiences they consider absolutely essential. Inside World of Frozen: How Arendelle Comes to Life Seeing World of Frozen through Jennifer’s and Trent’s eyes adds a layer of meaning that goes far beyond world-building. For Jennifer, the experience was especially profound. World of Frozen represents a story she created and continues to develop, now standing — quite literally — before her. Her first impression was the sheer scale of the land. World of Frozen unfolds slowly and intentionally, drawing guests deeper and deeper until they truly believe they have crossed into Arendelle. She was struck by how seamlessly the environment connected. In one moment, Elsa’s Ice Palace glimmers in the distance, then turn a corner, and Arendelle Castle appears as if it has always been there. Trent felt that same sense of immersion immediately. Having served as an animator on the first film, overseeing animation of Olaf on the sequel, as well as directing the short film, Once Upon a Snowman, and now joining Jennifer as director of the third, he found himself encountering quiet moments of recognition scattered throughout the land. How to Experience World of Frozen: Tips for Your First Visit When it comes to planning a first visit to World of Frozen, Jennifer and Trent have very different strategies — which somehow makes their advice even better. Jennifer’s ideal day begins with Frozen Ever After, immersing herself in the story right away. From there, she suggests visiting Anna and Elsa at Rencontre Royale, browsing the nearby shops, and then slowing down for a meal. Nordic Crowns Tavern, she noted, is the perfect pause — a place to take in the portraits, textures, and storytelling details that surround you. Trent’s approach is the complete opposite. His first stop is food, and as much of it as possible. Only after that does he recommend boarding Frozen Ever After, followed by finding a quiet bench to sit, observe, and soak in the smaller moments happening all around. Together, their unique styles highlight something essential: there’s no wrong way to experience Arendelle. However, there’s one experience they insist on without exception: “A Celebration in Arendelle.” Wherever it fits into the schedule, they advise stopping everything and being there. Both filmmakers shared how emotional it was to watch “A Celebration in Arendelle,” particularly when seeing Olaf. Jennifer described the experience as unexpectedly moving, capturing Olaf’s warmth and humor so perfectly that it felt like reconnecting with a part of herself. Three weeks after World of Frozen opened at Disneyland Paris, the impact of months of preparation is unmistakable. Long before the gates opened, cast members stepped into the unknown through immersive training — becoming citizens of Arendelle, ready to play their role in the show and welcome guests with confidence, heart, and Disney storytelling from Day One. Where the Magic Begins On opening day, cast members welcome the first guests with an ease that makes a brand‑new world feel instantly familiar. That feeling is intentional. As Disneyland Paris ushered in a bold new era with the opening of World of Frozen at the heart of Disney Adventure World, every moment was designed to feel seamless from the start. You have to rewind to where every great opening truly begins: Day One — when future cast members learn they’re not just opening a land, but stepping fully into its story. It Takes a Village Every kingdom needs its people. And before World of Frozen could welcome its first guests, Disneyland Paris set out to assemble the right cast to bring Arendelle to life. Doing that called for a community as thoughtful and layered as the kingdom itself. Nearly 15 months before opening day, Disneyland Paris launched an ambitious recruitment effort — combining internal mobility, targeted recruitment, and a European casting tour to welcome more than 1,200 cast members into new roles and opportunities. The search intensified in summer 2025, with thousands of candidates auditioning for roles across the new land. Just 350 were selected to become Arendelle’s future villagers — each chosen to help shape a world built on warmth, story, and a sense of camaraderie. This effort was part of a much larger moment for the resort. As Disney Adventure World took shape, more than 1,000 cast members joined — reflecting the scale, ambition, and readiness required for a new era at Disneyland Paris. And once the teams were in place, the focus naturally shifted — from who would open the land… to how they would inhabit it — together. The Invitation: Becoming a Villager, Not Just a New Hire One month before Arendelle opened its gates on March 29, 2026, more than 350 cast members were officially welcomed as villagers of Arendelle during a dedicated celebration at Disneyland Paris. Future cast members received what became known as the “letter from the village.” It wasn’t just a job offer. It was an invitation to something bigger: becoming a villager of Arendelle. The objective was to make cast members feel part of the story and part of the same village, far beyond getting a job. That distinction mattered — because from the very beginning, the goal was clear: when guests arrive for the first time, Arendelle should already feel like home. The invitation itself was, as you’d expect, regal, making recipients feel beyond special. Fredrik, royal emissary of Queens Anna and Elsa, greeted the new villagers with: “Dear friends, it is with great joy and emotion… I extend a warm welcome to each and every one of you…” Cast Member Dorine Hermier, Attractions Operator & Trainer, describes being chosen for the opening guest flow team at World of Frozen as a “heart-stopping surprise.” Adding that she felt “speechless, excited, honored, and already imagining the magic ahead.” Each new villager also received an official name badge identifying them as Arendellians, creating the emotional foundation to welcome guests with authenticity from their very first step into this storied world. And from Day One, during their Traditions onboarding, cast members learn to create a world where everyone belongs. For a big opening like World of Frozen, this foundation is everything. Training without the Land Here’s the unique challenge of preparing for a major opening: you need cast members to understand the story, geography, tone, and guest expectations for a place that — at least for part of the process — may still be behind construction walls. This was the case for Arendelle. Disneyland Paris leaned into immersive learning moments to bridge that gap. Cast members were immersed into Arendelle’s world — roles included welcoming visitors at Nordic Crowns Tavern, guiding guests on a journey toward the Ice Palace, supporting the Royal Encounter, and creating themed souvenirs. Even the selection and early preparation carried story-driven touches: the focus wasn’t simply on staffing positions, but on preparing cast members to deliver an exceptional guest experience. Along the way, more than 14 new training programs were developed — focused on storytelling, operations, leadership, and guest experience — so when cast members finally stepped into the land, it already felt familiar. Stepping Into the Story: Inside the 3‑Day Cast Event As opening day approached, Disneyland Paris needed a way to immerse cast members in a world still coming to life. The answer was Journey Into Disney Adventure World – A Cast Life Event, a three‑day, expo‑style experience designed to help cast members understand, inhabit, and confidently represent the stories they would soon share with guests. Hosted at Disney Village Dôme in late November of 2025, the event welcomed more than 5,000 cast members, offering one of their first opportunities to step inside the future of Disney Adventure World. The venue itself became a preview — transformed with towering artwork, themed environments, scale models, and interactive stations that made the new worlds feel tangible. Storytelling set the tone from the start. A dramatic opening moment, led by Queen Elsa, brought the space to life and signaled that this was more than an overview — it was an invitation to explore. Throughout the experience, cast members moved through immersive zones that revealed every layer of the new world. Merchandise inspired by Scandinavian design appeared alongside life‑size recreations from future lands, with Disney characters popping in to surprise and welcome participants. Nearby, chefs shared early tastings and development stories from Nordic Crowns Tavern and The Regal View Restaurant & Lounge — underscoring that storytelling extends to flavors and details, too. (In fact, culinary teams tested more than 30 mashed potato recipes before finalizing the Nordic Crowns menu!) Other stations offered behind‑the‑scenes insight into entertainment and technology. Models, storyboards, and interactive elements previewed upcoming shows, including the nighttime spectacular Disney Cascade of Lights, helping cast members understand not just what guests would see — but how those moments would feel. One standout moment brought a future attraction directly into the space: a gondola from Raiponce Tangled Spin. Stepping inside, cast members could imagine the Festival of Lanterns overhead — forming an emotional connection to a story they would soon help bring to life. The first reveal of World of Frozen cast costumes — complete with Nordic patterns and thoughtful details — offered a tangible glimpse of what lay ahead. It was also where future opening‑day teams began meeting one another, realizing they would share the responsibility of welcoming the first guests together. By design, the Cast Life Event wasn’t about memorizing facts. It was about building familiarity, emotional readiness and pride — so when cast members stepped inside on opening day, it already felt familiar. When Cast Feel it, Guests Believe It For an opening of this magnitude, it is important that cast members across the resort feel connected to what’s coming and proud of what’s being built. That’s why the build-up to opening included cast-exclusive previews and moments designed to create excitement and an emotional connection. Dorine recounts how the months leading to opening became “so much more than preparation” — including an unforgettable cast-exclusive event and opportunities to experience Disney Adventure World before anyone else. One standout moment she shares was the general rehearsal of “Disney Cascade of Lights,” where cast members were invited to see the show firsthand during an unforgettable evening. Dorine remembers feeling overwhelmed. “I had tears in my eyes,” she recalls, as the show’s first lights and music came alive over Adventure Bay. That pride matters, because it changes the way cast members speak about the experience: not as a list of facts, but as something they’ve lived — and can’t wait to share with guests. The Big Opening Moment On March 29, as World of Frozen officially opened, a shared excitement filled every step into Arendelle. The day carried emotion from the very start. Cast members lined Adventure Way, eager and proud as guests crossed into the village for the very first time, with children from Make‑A‑Wish warmly welcomed at the front of the celebration. That enthusiasm carried through every moment — from Frozen Ever After to A Celebration in Arendelle, from heartfelt greetings to confident, in‑story storytelling — resulting in an opening day that felt seamless and joyful because it was built from Day One. These cast members don’t just work in Arendelle; they are its residents, genuinely thrilled to bring this extraordinary place to life for everyone who visits. World of Frozen is a powerful reminder that big opening moments aren’t built only with steel, stone, and snow-dusted rooftops — they’re built with people who embrace the story as if it were their own. And the possibilities ahead are just as exciting. Cast members don’t just work at Disney — they are a part of our stories. Kortney Casper’s journey to Batuu marked a defining chapter in her leadership story. During her time as a Guest Show Operations lead at Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, Kortney helped bring the immersive world of Batuu to life by encouraging cast members to fully step into the story—creating personal backstories and sharing them with Guests each day. “We’re really redefining what it means to play in the land,” Kortney said at the time. “We have the luxury of creating our own backstories within the Star Wars canon.” That creative freedom — made possible through close collaboration between Walt Disney Imagineering, Lucasfilm, and park operations — allowed Kortney to lead by example, supporting her fellow cast members and helping ensure every Guest interaction felt authentic, confident, and unmistakably Disney. It’s an experience she continues to carry with her today as a Stage Manager at Disneyland Resort, where she keeps creating magic. In a galaxy far, far away, Ben Johnson brings the stories of Batuu to life — blending exceptional guest service with the spirit of the Force. In his role at Droid Depot in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, Ben helps Guests assemble and activate their own droids, turning a lifelong passion for the Star Wars universe into real‑world magic each day. Perhaps no one has more fun getting into character than Jungle Cruise skippers, and Sara is no exception. In fact, she followed her father’s footsteos into this role at Disneyland Resort. In 1985, Sara’s father began his Disney career as a skipper on the attraction, leading guests on adventures for niles and niles. Thirty years later, Sara is continuing her dad’s lively legacy, bringing joy to guests and cherishing the unique history of the attraction. At Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: BREAKOUT!, Anthony takes on the role of a Tivan Group employee, guiding guests through the Collector’s Fortress before they’re recruited for a top‑secret rescue mission. With a passion for storytelling, Anthony goes above and beyond to bring the experience to life — creating happiness through his special connections with guests inside the Collector’s ever‑evolving collection. Every day at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, Tori helps guests feel welcomed, oriented, and ready to explore. One of Walt Disney World’s most popular restaurants is about to close for a months-long closure right in the middle of the busy summer season. Perfectly cooked As part of a larger refurbishment project at the Yacht Club, two of the resort’s most popular restaurants — Yachtsman Steakhouse and its connected Crew’s Cup Lounge — are both closing for months-long closure this year. The Crew’s Cup Lounge — a “cozy outpost” featuring a wide selection of beers, wine, cocktails, and a menu of lounge favorites, including the delectable Prime Rib Sliders — shuttered on February 23rd for a refresh that is scheduled to end in May, though Disney World’s Calendar is currently showing hours beginning June 1st. Prime Rib Sliders Then, on May 11th, the popular Yachtsman Steakhouse — a New England nautical-themed eatery featuring a menu of steaks, seafood, and other dishes — will be closing for a refurbishment of its own that is scheduled to end in August. Yachtsman Steakhouse While Disney hasn’t revealed many details about potential changes to the popular Yacht Club location, the fact that Yachtsman’s refurbishment is scheduled to last 3 months would suggest it could look pretty different inside once they reopen. Yachtsman Steakhouse Other Dining Closures The Yachtsman and its lounge aren’t the only hotel eateries that guests won’t be able to enjoy as normal this summer, as several more will see refurbishments and closures as well. Saratoga Springs three Turf Club eateries will rotate refurbishments over the summer months: The Turf Club will be closed from April to August, while the Turf Club Bar & Grill remains open with a modified menu. The Turf Club Patio will have a brief closure from early through mid-August. Then, the Turf Club Bar & Grill will be closed from August to September, with the Turf Club Lounge remaining open. Turf Club Bar & Grill The Grand Floridian Cafe — naturally located at the Grand Floridian — is scheduled to be closed from July through October. During this period, the cafe’s brunch will be offered at Citricos. Seating at the Grand Floridian Cafe The Yachtsman Steakhouse at Disney’s Yacht Club Resort is closing on May 11th for a refurbishment that is scheduled to last through sometime in August, one of several dining closures this summer.
