When it comes to dining at Disney World, you’ve got a TON of options. That’s VERY true over in EPCOT, where you’ve got dozens of restaurants with unique cuisine from all around the world in World Showcase. That’s far from all the restaurants in the park, though, because you’ve also got the spots up at the front of the park. Time to eat at Garden Grill! We recently stopped by Garden Grill for breakfast to see if there’s really a big difference (other than the menu offerings and price) between dining here early in the day vs. for lunch and dinner. Is it worth it to save some money dining at this character meal for breakfast and potentially struggle to get a reservation, or are they about the same? Let’s find out! Atmosphere The Land pavilion, where this restaurant is housed, is all about connecting with nature and highlighting the beauty of the world all around us. Garden Grill is no different! It sits on the top floor of the pavilion (which is the floor you enter on), and there’s something extra special about this restaurant — it rotates! Garden Grill Don’t worry, it doesn’t spin fast at all. It’s just enough to where you’ll look up from eating and all of a sudden realize your surroundings are different. The back of the restaurant also overlooks Living with the Land, one of two rides in the pavilion that shows you how EPCOT grows food. Looking out over Living with the Land! There’s an inner ring and outer ring of the restaurant, and while you may get better views of the ride in the outer ring, you’ll still get a pretty good view if you’re in the inner ring. The characters will also come around and see you no matter where you’re sitting, which is also a very special part of this experience. You’ll get to say hello to Chip, Dale, Mickey, and Pluto, and see all of them dressed in their adorable farm outfits. Hi, Mickey! But enough about the restaurant — what’s on the menu here?! Menu This is a prix-fixe menu that’s served family style, meaning that you’ll get a plate (or multiple if you’ve got a lot of people in your group) of the different offerings on the menu, but you can ask for more of anything you’d like. Yes, they really mean that! If you want more of ONE item, you just ask, and they’ll make it happen. Our full platter! But how does it all taste? Let’s get into it! Drinks To drink, we picked up the Legacy Mimosa for $20.50, which is made with Uncle Nearest 1884 Small Batch Tennessee Whiskey, Grand Marnier Liqueur, Chateau Ste. Michelle Sparkling Wine, and Minute Maid Orange Juice. Legacy Mimosa This is a very well-balanced mimosa with a kick. The whiskey and Grand Marnier come together to add depth and more orange flavor without overwhelming you with that orange taste. You can still taste the sparkling wine, the whiskey, and the Grand Marnier, which makes for a more robust brunch cocktail. Eats The Chip & Dale Harvest Feast will cost you $49 for adults and $33 for kids 3-9, and comes with a loaf of Cinnamon Bread, fresh fruit (ours was watermelon), Mickey waffles, Backyard Grilled Steak, bacon, scrambled eggs, and skillet potatoes. Starting off with the Cinnamon Bread, this doesn’t look very gooey on the outside, but the inside hides layers of cinnamon that are so ooey-gooey and delicious. It’s almost like monkey bread in the middle, so tearing it apart is the best way to eat it, in our opinion. It wasn’t dry in the slightest and was a fantastic way to start off the meal. Cinnamon Bread We also got a plate of Watermelon along with the Cinnamon Loaf to start the meal, and this was so incredibly juicy and fresh, it tasted like it had just been cut that morning! It was so refreshing, especially on a summer day. The fruit can change, depending on the season, but if you get watermelon, rest assured, we don’t think you’ll be disappointed. Watermelon Then it was time for the actual skillet itself. The steak was the star of the show here, as it was so tender and perfectly cooked to a medium rare. Every bite was incredibly well seasoned and absolutely delicious, and it went so well with the scrambled eggs and the creamy skillet potatoes. The steak was the star! The potatoes are perfectly cooked and seasoned in a hash brown style with lots of creaminess baked in. We preferred to mix them in with the scrambled eggs, as those were pretty plain, so it added a bit more flavor to them. Skillet Potatoes The bacon is perfectly crunchy, not too soft or undercooked, but if you’re a fan of floppier bacon, this may not be the best fit for you. It also went well with the scrambled eggs, if you want a bit more flavor for them, but don’t want to combine them with the potatoes. Bacon We can’t forget about the Mickey Waffles, of course! They’re classic for a reason, and we think it’s a great way to finish off this savory platter with a little something sweet. And if you want more than two waffles, you can ask for them! Mickey Waffles! But is all this, plus the character dining experience, worth the cost? Nosh or Not This Disney World restaurant is a must-visit if… You’re looking for a fun meal with classic characters. Chip ‘n’ Dale’s Harvest Feast at Garden Grill Restaurant is hosted by the friendliest chipmunks around… and they’re joined by none other than Mickey Mouse and Pluto! These four characters provide ample entertainment that kids (and many adults) will likely love. You’re REALLY hungry and want a hearty meal to keep you full. Garden Grill serves up an all-you-care-to-enjoy Harvest Feast — and a feast it certainly is. The food is served tableside in skillets here, and it’s an all-you-can-eat feast with your family for Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner. You want a unique dining experience at a rotating restaurant. Since the earliest days of EPCOT, this restaurant has had many different styles, but has always been Disney World’s only rotating restaurant! Talk about something you can’t experience anywhere else on property. You should skip this Disney World spot if… You want a quick meal that won’t break the bank. While Garden Grill isn’t the most expensive prix fixe meal at Disney World, it doesn’t come cheap, especially for lunch and dinner. You’ll also be greeted by multiple characters throughout your meal, which can add some time to your reservation. If you’re looking for something quick in a similar atmosphere, try Sunshine Seasons, which is right downstairs! You’re not a fan of character meals. While we do enjoy the food here — it’s classic American fare that leans Southern — the main draws are the characters and the rotating restaurant. If you’re not after those vibes, consider finding somewhere else to eat. If you’re after some REALLY good and unique eats, check out Spice Road Table or Le Cellier. You’re looking for more unique eats. The menu here is probably similar to something you can find back at home, and with so many unique restaurants at EPCOT and Disney World, you might want to opt for something a little different than you’re used to. Overall This restaurant remains a very strong choice in EPCOT, especially for a hearty breakfast that’s fun, will appease a lot of people’s palettes, and is pretty centrally located in the park. If you know there’s something on the plate you/your family won’t eat a lot of, you can also let your server know ahead of time, and they’ll accommodate! And if you’re concerned about wasting food, there’s no need to stress — all food leftover is composted, so nothing goes to waste. Hi Chip! Disney World wouldn’t be able to run without the hard work of all the amazing Cast Members! ©North Carolina Zoo They truly are the reason behind the magic, and one of the most beloved Cast Members is officially leaving the company. It was just announced that Dr. Mark is ending his long career with Disney. Dr. Mark Penning has worked at Disney World for 14 years as the Vice President of Animals, Science, and Environment for Disney Experiences. In this role, he worked directly with Animal Kingdom, Animal Kingdom Lodge, and The Seas with Nemo and Friends. He has also earned Cast Member fame through his fun behind-the-scenes content on Instagram! @drmarkatdisney on Instagram He has over 80,000 followers and often posts about fun animal updates and when the new babies are born! However, after a long time at Disney, he is officially stepping down to start a new role as the Director of the North Carolina Zoo. ©Dr. Mark via Twitter (@drmarkatdisney) He will be taking on this role over this summer and has released a statement saying, “I am very excited to be moving to the beautiful state of North Carolina and joining the fabulous team at the North Carolina Zoo,” Penning said. “I have long admired the zoo with its stunningly picturesque setting, modern animal habitats, engaging experiences for visitors, and talented team of zoo professionals. They have created a world-class destination where families can connect with nature and with each other and experience the joy and wonder of being outdoors. Memorial Day is right around the corner (yes, somehow it’s May and Memorial Day Weekend is just a few weeks away — where has the time gone?), and that means crowds could be about to ramp up in Disney World again. Guest Relations Cast Member at Disney Springs This is especially true since the holiday also falls right around the time when some kids get out of school for the summer, and many families begin their holiday with a Disney trip. With all that in mind, knowing things may be more crowded for that weekend, we just want to make sure we’re all prepared — it’s POSSIBLE, but not guaranteed, that Disney could bring back their new unpopular bus rule in Disney Springs. In case you missed it, back near Easter, when spring break crowds coincided with the holiday crowds, Disney implemented a new rule for their buses leaving from Disney Springs. With this new rule, guests could only take the buses to hotels from Disney Springs if they have a hotel or dining reservation. It only stuck around for about a week, and then when crowds died down after Easter, the rule went away. Cast Members checking MagicBands However, a Cast Member did tell us at the time that it was possible the rule could come back during other busy times of year, and in our eyes, Memorial Day weekend crowds mashed with summer crowds? Yep, that might be grounds to bring it back, which means we could see this go into effect around Saturday, May 23rd, to Monday, May 25th. To enforce the rule, Disney had Cast Members stationed ahead of stanchions at each section of bus stops, checking MagicBands and the My Disney Experience App for guests’ reservations. This essentially cut out all chance of resort hopping, which we know is a bummer for many people, especially if they’re enjoying a day outside of the parks, but still on Disney property. Blockades put up If this is the case and the rule does go back into effect, there are a few ways we recommend working around it while you’re on vacation. It may take a little more time than usual, but in the long run, it may be better than spending money on a rideshare to get where you need to go. Our top recommendations are: Head to the parks first (even if you don’t walk inside), and then take a bus from there to any of the hotels Get yourself to the TTC (Ticket and Transportation Center), where you can then enjoy the hotels on the Monorail loop, or take the EPCOT Monorail to get access to the Skyliner resorts Disney Skyliner We’ll keep an eye out and be sure to let you know if we see this rule come back into play, so stay tuned to DFB! 5 Checked Bag Rules Airports Are Enforcing in 2026 Join the DFB Newsletter to get all the breaking news right in your inbox! These days, a lot of people are going to Disney World on a tight budget, and we totally get it. Magic Kingdom’s Cinderella Castle Disney World vacations keep getting more expensive year after year, and if you want to continue visiting and enjoying the magic with your family, you sometimes have to find creative solutions that help lighten the budget. That’s what we’re here for! We’ve gathered up some of the best solutions for planning a Disney trip on the cheap, and if you follow these, you can make your vacation much more affordable. Transportation Starting out with transportation, we’ll cover the priciest of the “cheap” options first. If you need to fly to get to Disney World, the best way to save money is with a budget airline. Some of our team’s go-tos when we need to save money are Frontier, Allegiant, and Breeze Airways. You can often find one-way flights for less than $100 per person when deals are running, but you do have to be careful of hidden fees. Budget airlines may charge extra for anything from carry-on baggage to seat selection. ©Breeze Airways Also, if you’re flying, you need to budget for airport transportation. One of the cheapest options out there is Mears Connect — it starts at $32 round-trip for adults and $26 round-trip for children. This is a shuttle service similar to the old Magical Express that will take you to your Disney Resort. Perhaps the cheapest option of all is using public transportation. It usually only costs a few dollars, and the bus system can take you around much of the Orlando area, but you’ll need to navigate the complex map of bus lines and deal with the woes of public transport. For the most direct option, you probably want to book a rideshare. Prices can vary for Uber and Lyft depending on the time of day, so this one is a bit harder to budget for. However, you’ll get to go directly from the airport to the hotel or wherever you’re staying. Mears Connect If you’re skipping flying altogether and driving to Disney World, you could save some significant dough (as long as gas prices aren’t too high!). Driving a car also allows you a bit of flexibility with transportation throughout your trip, and makes things simpler if you’re staying off-property. Here, the main costs you’ll need to consider are fuel and parking fees. If you’re not staying at a Disney World Resort, it costs $35 per day to park at the theme parks…and that’s just standard parking. Magic Kingdom parking Parking is free at the parks and hotels for Disney Resort guests. However, when staying at non-Disney hotels or other locations off Disney property, you will need to double-check and see if your hotel has an overnight parking fee. Those can add up quick! Learn More About Driving to Disney World Here Accommodations Now, on to hotels! The cheapest way to stay at a Disney Resort is to choose one from the Value category. Prices vary a bit within that group, but the All-Star Resorts tend to be the most affordable. The three hotels are themed to sports, movies, and music, and their prices for a standard room range from about $150/night to $300/night, depending on when you stay. The good news is that there are hotel discounts offered throughout the year in Disney World, and you can typically find ways to save on this rate. All-Star Music Resort If you’re willing to step outside the realm of Disney-owned hotels, we need to introduce you to the hidden gem that is the Disney Springs area. Near Disney Springs, there are a few hotels that are known as “Official Walt Disney World Hotels” that offer some of the same perks as the Disney-owned Resorts, and they’re right there on property. Pricing for these hotels is often under $200 a night. They do have resort fees, though, so you’ll need to factor that into your budget. But even with the fees, you can typically stay in a nice room very close to Disney Springs for cheaper than a Disney hotel. Drury Plaza Hotel Another good option is Disney World’s Good Neighbor hotels. These are hotels that are off Disney property but still in the area, and you can purchase ticket and hotel packages for them through Disney to secure a deal. This list of hotels includes some major name brands, and they sometimes offer transportation to the parks, though it could come at a fee. There will also be resort fees for staying at these hotels that you’ll need to factor in. Pricing varies, but you can still often stay at a Good Neighbor hotel for cheaper than you can stay on Disney property. Delta Orlando Of course, about the cheapest you can go is with something like an Airbnb or a budget hotel in the Disney World area. Here, you’ll have to do all the research to find the best deal, though you get more flexibility with your accommodations (more bedrooms and bathrooms if you need them). When shopping off property, make sure to find out if your rental comes with additional fees or parking charges, check out the distance to the parks, and factor in the cost of getting to Disney World property. Staying in Airbnbs can be a great way to immerse yourself in a residential neighborhood when you travel. You have to be careful with off-property options because occasionally, they can become just as expensive as staying in Disney World when you consider the pros like free Disney transportation or Early Theme Park Entry time in the parks. Why I Will Only Stay in a Non-Disney Hotel From Now On Tickets Okay, you’ve made it to Disney World, and you’ve got your place to stay. What about actually getting INTO the parks? When it comes to tickets, there are typically fewer “hacks” to get the price lower, though there are still a few methods you could try. First, make sure you’re purchasing the right tickets for your budget. If you’re doing a longer stay, go for one park per day, no Park Hopper. It’s a pricey add-on that doesn’t often get used. Even if you’re in Disney World for just a weekend, consider cutting out one or two parks so you don’t have to hop — it can waste a lot of your park day going from one park to another, and time is money, baby! Pandora Ticket deals aren’t quite as common as hotel deals, but sometimes Disney will sneak them into the Special Offers page. The most common deals are for Florida Residents or military personnel, but one offer we’ve seen a few times in recent years is the 3-day, 3-park ticket. This ticket typically gives a discounted rate with one day of entry each to EPCOT, Hollywood Studios, and Animal Kingdom. No Magic Kingdom entry, but you could buy that ticket separately or just skip that park if you’re in for a short trip. Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance More on the “hack” side of things, there are a few major retailers that sell Disney gift cards at a discounted rate from time to time. We’ve purchased them in the past at Sam’s Club, Costco, and Target. If you purchase those gift cards, then use them to purchase your tickets online, you’d technically be saving money on your tickets! Sam’s Club sometimes has discounted gift cards as well. Our biggest tip to keep in mind here is that you need to make sure you’re purchasing general Disney gift cards, NOT gift cards for Disney+. They are not the same! Learn More About the Gift Card Tips Here! Dining Throughout your trip, one big expense that you’ll encounter is dining. Eating in the Disney parks can be incredibly expensive and add up quickly (especially if you’ve got a group of snackers!), so you may want to consider trying to cut back on that part of your budget. The good news is that Disney World parks allow you to bring in your own food and snacks, so you can pack lunches and bring prepackaged treats for waiting in long lines if you’d like. One great way to pull this off is to place an Amazon Fresh delivery for groceries to arrive at your accommodations. They deliver to Disney Resorts and a variety of places off property, and you can get your favorite breakfast items, easy-carry snacks, and grab-and-go lunch options without having to bring them in your suitcase. ©Amazon And if you have some free time on your arrival or departure day, you can try to dine at restaurants off Disney World property. There are quite literally thousands of places to eat in the Orlando area, and you could have a sit-down meal much cheaper at many spots. One of my personal favorite hacks was to grab lunch or breakfast from the McDonald’s on Disney World property. It’s a bit more expensive than other McDonald’s locations, but it was still cheaper than ordering from Disney quick service restaurants (use the app to get deals!). The McDonald’s is located in the Animal Kingdom area, next to the All-Star Resorts. McDonald’s When you’re in the parks, this is another great way to use those discounted Disney gift cards. Save a little money on snacks and dining here and there. Learn More About Amazon Fresh Here! Souvenirs Finally, let’s chat about souvenirs! They’re technically the least necessary of the Disney purchases, but they’re a part of any vacation, nonetheless. To avoid relentless spending in the parks, you could purchase some Disney-themed items online via Amazon or Disney Store sales before your trip. Then the gifts could “magically” appear overnight in the hotel room at the start of your vacation for your kids. ODOCARE Minnie Ears from Amazon If you prefer to do your shopping in the area, many major retailers like Walmart and Target have souvenir sections in their Orlando-area stores. There, you’ll find mugs, autograph books, lanyards, ponchos, t-shirts, ears, hats, and pretty much any other basic souvenir. Sure, you might still want to get something directly from the parks, but there’s no need to spend too much on an autograph book in Disney World when you can get it for less. Let’s go to Target! So there you go — some of our best tips for saving and having the cheapest Disney vacation possible. As someone who LOVES to stay at a Disney World Deluxe Resort, I’ll let you in on a secret — I will choose this one hotel over those! Swan and Dolphin Resort If you’ve never seriously considered the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Resort, it’s time to change that. While they aren’t owned by Disney, they are operated by Marriott and are officially classified as Walt Disney World Deluxe Resorts, which means they come with many of the same perks as Disney’s top-tier hotels. Let’s dive into why you need to add this resort to your list. The Location These sister resorts sit right in the heart of Disney World, located in the EPCOT resort area between EPCOT and Hollywood Studios. That means you can stroll to EPCOT for a festival day, head back to your room for a midday break, or leave Hollywood Studios after park closing without standing in a long bus line. The ability to walk to two major parks dramatically changes the pace of your trip and adds flexibility that many other deluxe resorts simply can’t match. Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Guests can take a complimentary water taxi to EPCOT or Hollywood Studios, with boats departing approximately every 15 to 20 minutes. It’s a relaxing and scenic way to start or end the day. Complimentary bus transportation is also provided to all four theme parks and Disney Springs, running roughly every 20 to 30 minutes. You’re fully connected to the rest of Walt Disney World without sacrificing ease of access. Swan and Dolphin bus at Animal Kingdom The Food Another standout feature is dining. The Swan and Dolphin complex offers one of the largest collections of restaurants at any Disney-area hotel. From signature dining experiences to casual table-service restaurants, lounges, quick-service options, and coffee spots, there is an impressive variety without ever leaving the resort area. Bourbon Steak These hotels also carry Dr. Pepper — which is a small thing in comparison, but it’s one of the only places you can find this soda at Disney World! Room Service Unlike almost all of the Disney-owned hotels, the Swan and Dolphin also offer room service, which I cannot stress what a true deluxe amenity that can be a game-changer after a long park day. The menu comes from several of the restaurants in the hotels, so the food is fantastic! This has to be one of the most underrated perks of staying at the Swan and Dolphin. The food menu The Price Now let’s talk about cost because this is where the real surprise comes in. For a six-night stay in June, the Swan Resort totaled $2,143.81. For the same dates, a stay at Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa came to $2,318.43. That’s about $175 more to stay at Saratoga Springs, a Disney-owned deluxe resort that does not offer walkable access to two parks, has fewer dining options on site, and does not provide room service. To experience this new destination at Disneyland Paris from a truly unique perspective, we explored World of Frozen alongside Frozen 3 directors Jennifer Lee and Trent Correy of Walt Disney Animation Studios, whose connection to this story runs deep. As we walked together, they shared personal tips for discovering Arendelle: From easy-to-miss details to experiences they consider absolutely essential. Inside World of Frozen: How Arendelle Comes to Life Seeing World of Frozen through Jennifer’s and Trent’s eyes adds a layer of meaning that goes far beyond world-building. For Jennifer, the experience was especially profound. World of Frozen represents a story she created and continues to develop, now standing — quite literally — before her. Her first impression was the sheer scale of the land. World of Frozen unfolds slowly and intentionally, drawing guests deeper and deeper until they truly believe they have crossed into Arendelle. From there, she suggests visiting Anna and Elsa at Rencontre Royale, browsing the nearby shops, and then slowing down for a meal. Nordic Crowns Tavern, she noted, is the perfect pause — a place to take in the portraits, textures, and storytelling details that surround you. Trent’s approach is the complete opposite. His first stop is food, and as much of it as possible. Only after that does he recommend boarding Frozen Ever After, followed by finding a quiet bench to sit, observe, and soak in the smaller moments happening all around. Together, their unique styles highlight something essential: there’s no wrong way to experience Arendelle. However, there’s one experience they insist on without exception: “A Celebration in Arendelle.” Wherever it fits into the schedule, they advise stopping everything and being there. Three weeks after World of Frozen opened at Disneyland Paris, the impact of months of preparation is unmistakable. Long before the gates opened, cast members stepped into the unknown through immersive training — becoming citizens of Arendelle, ready to play their role in the show and welcome guests with confidence, heart, and Disney storytelling from Day One. Where the Magic Begins On opening day, cast members welcome the first guests with an ease that makes a brand‑new world feel instantly familiar. That feeling is intentional. As Disneyland Paris ushered in a bold new era with the opening of World of Frozen at the heart of Disney Adventure World, every moment was designed to feel seamless from the start. You have to rewind to where every great opening truly begins: Day One — when future cast members learn they’re not just opening a land, but stepping fully into its story. It Takes a Village Every kingdom needs its people. And before World of Frozen could welcome its first guests, Disneyland Paris set out to assemble the right cast to bring Arendelle to life. Doing that called for a community as thoughtful and layered as the kingdom itself. Nearly 15 months before opening day, Disneyland Paris launched an ambitious recruitment effort — combining internal mobility, targeted recruitment, and a European casting tour to welcome more than 1,200 cast members into new roles and opportunities. The search intensified in summer 2025, with thousands of candidates auditioning for roles across the new land. Just 350 were selected to become Arendelle’s future villagers — each chosen to help shape a world built on warmth, story, and a sense of camaraderie. This effort was part of a much larger moment for the resort. As Disney Adventure World took shape, more than 1,000 cast members joined — reflecting the scale, ambition, and readiness required for a new era at Disneyland Paris. And once the teams were in place, the focus naturally shifted — from who would open the land… to how they would inhabit it — together. The Invitation: Becoming a Villager, Not Just a New Hire One month before Arendelle opened its gates on March 29, 2026, more than 350 cast members were officially welcomed as villagers of Arendelle during a dedicated celebration at Disneyland Paris. Future cast members received what became known as the “letter from the village.” It wasn’t just a job offer. It was an invitation to something bigger: becoming a villager of Arendelle. The objective was to make cast members feel part of the story and part of the same village, far beyond getting a job. That distinction mattered — because from the very beginning, the goal was clear: when guests arrive for the first time, Arendelle should already feel like home. The invitation itself was, as you’d expect, regal, making recipients feel beyond special. Fredrik, royal emissary of Queens Anna and Elsa, greeted the new villagers with: “Dear friends, it is with great joy and emotion… I extend a warm welcome to each and every one of you…” Cast Member Dorine Hermier, Attractions Operator & Trainer, describes being chosen for the opening guest flow team at World of Frozen as a “heart-stopping surprise.” Adding that she felt “speechless, excited, honored, and already imagining the magic ahead.” Each new villager also received an official name badge identifying them as Arendellians, creating the emotional foundation to welcome guests with authenticity from their very first step into this storied world. Before learning the specifics of Arendelle, cast members first learn why their role matters — how every interaction shapes a guest’s story, especially on opening day, when many guests are experiencing Disney for the very first time. And from Day One, during their Traditions onboarding, cast members learn to create a world where everyone belongs. For a big opening like World of Frozen, this foundation is everything. Training without the Land Here’s the unique challenge of preparing for a major opening: you need cast members to understand the story, geography, tone, and guest expectations for a place that — at least for part of the process — may still be behind construction walls. This was the case for Arendelle. Disneyland Paris leaned into immersive learning moments to bridge that gap. Cast members were immersed into Arendelle’s world — roles included welcoming visitors at Nordic Crowns Tavern, guiding guests on a journey toward the Ice Palace, supporting the Royal Encounter, and creating themed souvenirs. Even the selection and early preparation carried story-driven touches: the focus wasn’t simply on staffing positions, but on preparing cast members to deliver an exceptional guest experience. Along the way, more than 14 new training programs were developed — focused on storytelling, operations, leadership, and guest experience — so when cast members finally stepped into the land, it already felt familiar. Stepping Into the Story: Inside the 3‑Day Cast Event As opening day approached, Disneyland Paris needed a way to immerse cast members in a world still coming to life. The answer was Journey Into Disney Adventure World – A Cast Life Event, a three‑day, expo‑style experience designed to help cast members understand, inhabit, and confidently represent the stories they would soon share with guests. Hosted at Disney Village Dôme in late November of 2025, the event welcomed more than 5,000 cast members, offering one of their first opportunities to step inside the future of Disney Adventure World. The venue itself became a preview — transformed with towering artwork, themed environments, scale models, and interactive stations that made the new worlds feel tangible. Storytelling set the tone from the start. A dramatic opening moment, led by Queen Elsa, brought the space to life and signaled that this was more than an overview — it was an invitation to explore. Throughout the experience, cast members moved through immersive zones that revealed every layer of the new world. Merchandise inspired by Scandinavian design appeared alongside life‑size recreations from future lands, with Disney characters popping in to surprise and welcome participants. Nearby, chefs shared early tastings and development stories from Nordic Crowns Tavern and The Regal View Restaurant & Lounge — underscoring that storytelling extends to flavors and details, too. One standout moment brought a future attraction directly into the space: a gondola from Raiponce Tangled Spin. Stepping inside, cast members could imagine the Festival of Lanterns overhead — forming an emotional connection to a story they would soon help bring to life. The first reveal of World of Frozen cast costumes — complete with Nordic patterns and thoughtful details — offered a tangible glimpse of what lay ahead. It was also where future opening‑day teams began meeting one another, realizing they would share the responsibility of welcoming the first guests together. By design, the Cast Life Event wasn’t about memorizing facts. It was about building familiarity, emotional readiness and pride — so when cast members stepped inside on opening day, it already felt familiar. When Cast Feel it, Guests Believe It For an opening of this magnitude, it is important that cast members across the resort feel connected to what’s coming and proud of what’s being built. That’s why the build-up to opening included cast-exclusive previews and moments designed to create excitement and an emotional connection. Dorine recounts how the months leading to opening became “so much more than preparation” — including an unforgettable cast-exclusive event and opportunities to experience Disney Adventure World before anyone else. One standout moment she shares was the general rehearsal of “Disney Cascade of Lights,” where cast members were invited to see the show firsthand during an unforgettable evening. Dorine remembers feeling overwhelmed. “I had tears in my eyes,” she recalls, as the show’s first lights and music came alive over Adventure Bay. That pride matters, because it changes the way cast members speak about the experience: not as a list of facts, but as something they’ve lived — and can’t wait to share with guests. The Big Opening Moment On March 29, as World of Frozen officially opened, a shared excitement filled every step into Arendelle. The day carried emotion from the very start. Cast members lined Adventure Way, eager and proud as guests crossed into the village for the very first time, with children from Make‑A‑Wish warmly welcomed at the front of the celebration. Kortney Casper’s journey to Batuu marked a defining chapter in her leadership story. During her time as a Guest Show Operations lead at Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, Kortney helped bring the immersive world of Batuu to life by encouraging cast members to fully step into the story—creating personal backstories and sharing them with Guests each day. “We’re really redefining what it means to play in the land,” Kortney said at the time. “We have the luxury of creating our own backstories within the Star Wars canon.” That creative freedom — made possible through close collaboration between Walt Disney Imagineering, Lucasfilm, and park operations — allowed Kortney to lead by example, supporting her fellow cast members and helping ensure every Guest interaction felt authentic, confident, and unmistakably Disney. It’s an experience she continues to carry with her today as a Stage Manager at Disneyland Resort, where she keeps creating magic. In a galaxy far, far away, Ben Johnson brings the stories of Batuu to life — blending exceptional guest service with the spirit of the Force. In his role at Droid Depot in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, Ben helps Guests assemble and activate their own droids, turning a lifelong passion for the Star Wars universe into real‑world magic each day. Perhaps no one has more fun getting into character than Jungle Cruise skippers, and Sara is no exception. In fact, she followed her father’s footsteos into this role at Disneyland Resort. In 1985, Sara’s father began his Disney career as a skipper on the attraction, leading guests on adventures for niles and niles. One of Walt Disney World’s most popular restaurants is about to close for a months-long closure right in the middle of the busy summer season. Perfectly cooked As part of a larger refurbishment project at the Yacht Club, two of the resort’s most popular restaurants — Yachtsman Steakhouse and its connected Crew’s Cup Lounge — are both closing for months-long closure this year. The Crew’s Cup Lounge — a “cozy outpost” featuring a wide selection of beers, wine, cocktails, and a menu of lounge favorites, including the delectable Prime Rib Sliders — shuttered on February 23rd for a refresh that is scheduled to end in May, though Disney World’s Calendar is currently showing hours beginning June 1st. Prime Rib Sliders Then, on May 11th, the popular Yachtsman Steakhouse — a New England nautical-themed eatery featuring a menu of steaks, seafood, and other dishes — will be closing for a refurbishment of its own that is scheduled to end in August. Yachtsman Steakhouse While Disney hasn’t revealed many details about potential changes to the popular Yacht Club location, the fact that Yachtsman’s refurbishment is scheduled to last 3 months would suggest it could look pretty different inside once they reopen. Yachtsman Steakhouse Other Dining Closures The Yachtsman and its lounge aren’t the only hotel eateries that guests won’t be able to enjoy as normal this summer, as several more will see refurbishments and closures as well. Saratoga Springs three Turf Club eateries will rotate refurbishments over the summer months: The Turf Club will be closed from April to August, while the Turf Club Bar & Grill remains open with a modified menu. The Turf Club Patio will have a brief closure from early through mid-August. Then, the Turf Club Bar & Grill will be closed from August to September, with the Turf Club Lounge remaining open. Turf Club Bar & Grill The Grand Floridian Cafe — naturally located at the Grand Floridian — is scheduled to be closed from July through October. During this period, the cafe’s brunch will be offered at Citricos. Seating at the Grand Floridian Cafe The Yachtsman Steakhouse at Disney’s Yacht Club Resort is closing on May 11th for a refurbishment that is scheduled to last through sometime in August, one of several dining closures this summer. From flight prices to checked bag rules, 2026 has been a strict and tougher year for traveling! Baggage claim! We have been getting a lot of news regarding flights in 2026, and it doesn’t look like there are any signs of it slowing down. Based on how everything has gone this year so far, there are some things you need to be aware of if you’re bringing a checked bag. Prices Have Gone UP As jet fuel prices have gone up, checked baggage prices have also gone up. Almost every airline has increased the cost of bringing a first and second checked bag onto a flight. Delta Air Lines now charges $45 for the first checked bag, and the $55 for the second. Southwest Airlines charges $45 instead of $35 for the first checked bag, with the second checked bag costing $55. Baggage claim at MCO! United Airlines charges $50 for the first checked bag, and JetBlue charges $39 for the first checked bag during off-peak travel times, or $49 during peak times like the summer and major holidays. Finally, American Airlines charges $45 for the first checked bag and $55 for the second, while a third checked bag will cost $200. Baggage claim Weight Flights have been getting stricter this year, especially when it comes to checked baggage. If you have a flight this summer, make sure to pay attention to your bag’s weight. The standard maximum weight for checked bags on flights is 50 lbs, and airlines are buckling down on that a little more. We recommend weighing your bag on a scale at home before you make your way to the airport! Orlando Airport New Rule About Batteries! There have been new rules being put in place on bringing lithium-ion batteries onto flights. Strict portable charger policies are becoming “industry standard among major carriers, following a string of fires sparked by lithium-ion batteries onboard flights operated by several different airlines last year.” American Airlines requires travelers to keep any portable charges that they have with them visible and within reach while being used. American Airlines Passengers will be limited to two portable chargers that do not exceed 100 watt-hours each. The airline also noted that any portable chargers that contain lithium-ion batteries intended to charge personal electronic devices can not be stored in overhead bins and cannot be recharged during the flight. So, be aware when you’re packing portable chargers, and which kind you’re packing. American Airlines Carry-On Size We’ve been in situations where we had a bag that was larger than the regular carry-on size, but we were using it as a carry-on. When we got to our gate, we ended up having to check the bag. Again, flights are seemingly getting more strict. So pay attention to the size of your carry-on when you leave for the airport, because they may make you check it, even if it’s a tiny bit bigger than the average carry-on. United Airlines Full Flights Lastly, be aware that busy flights are 100% overestimating how many carry-on bags there are when boarding passengers. They almost always ask people to volunteer to check the carry-on at the gate. If you know you want yours in the overhead bin, it may be best to make sure you’re in an early boarding group. Magic Kingdom is about to get spooky, and y’all, we are HERE for it. Magic Kingdom at night during Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party tickets are officially on sale, which means it’s time to plan your fall trip to Disney World because if you want to dress up and collect a wild amount of candy, now’s the time to grab the tickets. Tickets for guests staying at a Disney World hotel have officially gone on sale as of May 5th. Tickets will be available for all other guests on May 12th. Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party runs on select nights from August 7th to October 31st, and some nights sell out faster than others, like opening night, and dates closer to Halloween (since not everyone dreams of Halloween in the middle of August). If you want some of those more prized dates, you’ll want to be ready to grab them on May 12th. Cruella de Vil Your ticket gets you into the parks at 4 PM, and the party doesn’t start till 7 PM but runs till midnight. Getting in early lets you enjoy the park before it closes for the party, so you can grab food (which we highly recommend) and ride attractions that will be closed later. It’s a nice way to extend your park day a bit to get more bang for your buck. Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party! Prices range from $119 to $229, which is more expensive for nights closer to that coveted October 31st. Annual Passholders and Disney Vacation Club Members can save $10 per ticket on select nights in August and September. So much entertainment Now onto the fun! Disney Cruise Line is deepening its commitment to making a real difference in the communities it calls home with a major expansion of The Play Project, a community-led initiative that’s bringing new energy to youth sports and play spaces across The Bahamas. This next chapter will deliver upgraded facilities to even more islands — now with new collaborators, including ESPN — with refurbished baseball fields, basketball courts, and track and field grounds in Eleuthera, Nassau, and Abaco. The goal is to create more places for kids to be active, compete and simply be kids. “Through The Play Project, our teams are working with community leaders in Eleuthera, Nassau and Abaco to provide youth with safe places to play, learn and connect,” said Joey Gaskins, regional public affairs director for Disney Cruise Line. “This next phase builds on the magic and momentum of our first year by expanding to more communities while introducing new sports and strengthening bonds between Disney and our port communities.” Impact Over a Year in the Making The mission began when Disney Cruise Line opened Disney Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point in 2024. Seeking to create vibrant spaces for Bahamian youth, Disney teamed up with the global nonprofit love.fútbol and local residents to design essential play spaces. In its inaugural year, efforts were focused on South and Central Eleuthera. Six primary schools — P.A. Gibson, Deep Creek, Tarpum Bay, Rock Sound, Wemyss Bight, and Green Castle — received revitalized play spaces. This massive undertaking in 2025 was fueled by the hands-on dedication of more than 230 Disney VoluntEARS, who worked alongside Bahamian officials, teachers, and students to create what has become a community-led success story. One year later, The Play Project has created more than 32,000 hours of annual play for local children. As The Play Project moves into its second year, this successful model in Eleuthera has served as a blueprint for growth, allowing the initiative to expand into Nassau and Abaco and continue its mission of bringing the magic of play to students across The Bahamas. New Partners, New Possibilities Disney Cruise Line tapped into the power of The Walt Disney Company to bring ESPN’s “Take Back Sports” initiative to help drive support for The Play Project. “Take Back Sports” aims to reverse the decline in youth sports participation by dismantling barriers such as rising costs and providing free programming to ensure that sports remain within reach, inclusive, and — most importantly — fun for the next generation of athletes. “The Walt Disney Company and ESPN are working to make youth sports more accessible,” said Kevin Martinez, vice president of ESPN corporate citizenship. “We’re thrilled to support young athletes with resources so kids can take advantage of the many life skills that sports have to offer.” In The Bahamas, this initiative aims to reduce barriers to youth sports, providing resources to athletes, parents, and coaches alike, and the introduction of ESPN and “Taking Back Sports” will help to amplify local stories of resilience and joy. Team Spirit and Homeruns in Eleuthera This year, The Play Project returned to where it all began, revitalizing even more spaces in South and Central Eleuthera. Whether it’s resurfacing baseball fields at Tarpum Bay or installing new playgrounds at Emily G. Petty and Emma E. Cooper schools, the goal remains the same: creating a lasting legacy of play. “Disney Cruise Line continues to show its commitment to communities in Central and South Eleuthera with the expansion of the Play Project initiative,” said Hon. Clay Sweeting, Minister of Works and Family Island Affairs and Member of Parliament for Central and South Eleuthera. “Programs and corporate engagement like this are an important part of the incredible economic development Eleuthera is now experiencing.” Looking Toward a Bright Future The momentum won’t stop in Eleuthera. Disney Cruise Line and international non-profit love.fútbol will also lead community “build days” in Abaco and Nassau this summer. “We see play as a powerful platform for creating lasting impact for children and the places they call home,” said Manoel Silva, chief operating officer of love.fútbol. In Nassau, DCL is collaborating with the Buddy Hield Foundation for a total revitalization of the sports spaces at Woodcock Primary School, culminating in a community basketball tournament hosted by Bahamian NBA star Buddy Hield to tip off the opening of the new facilities. From repaved courts and professional painting to new volleyball poles and basketball rims, the school will be transformed into a vibrant hub for student athletes. By August 2026, students across the Bahamas will have access to even more rewarding play environments. A new version of a popular ride is coming to EPCOT, and it’s opening soon! ©Disney Soarin’ Across America is set to open in EPCOT on May 26th. This ride pays homage to the 250th Anniversary of the United States of America, and it features scenes from across the USA. But before it opens to the public, you may get a chance to preview the ride! Disney announced that there will be Annual Passholder previews for Soarin’ Across America on May 19th and 20th. To participate in this preview, Annual Passholders may join the regular standby queue for the ride during normal operating hours. ©Disney The queue is subject to capacity and will be closed to daytime visitors who are not Passholders. To enter, you must have a valid Annual Pass and present it at the ride. Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets Courtyard Well, not tonight, but very soon. Hollywood Studios has just announced Annual Passholder previews for Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets, and we’re about to jump out of a cannon like Gonzo and start this party! Annual Passholder previews are set for May 21st, 22nd, and 23rd, with the official opening being on May 26th. Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets — Opening May 26, 2026! You’ll want to make a theme park reservation for the dates so you can join the virtual queue at 7 AM on the same day. There will be three opportunities to join the queue each day: one at 7 AM, 11 AM, and 3 PM, but they’re all a little bit different. The details include: 7 AM virtual queue for Passholders with a Hollywood Studios reservation 11 AM virtual queue for Passholders with a reservation to any park for that day (don’t forget you’ll need to scan in to the park with your reservation before heading to Hollywood Studios) 3 PM virtual queue for Passholders with valid admission. No park reservation is required. ©Disney You do not need to have scanned into the parks to enter the virtual queue, but you’ll want to make sure you’re on your app and ready because virtual queues can fill up super fast. Happy Star Wars Day, everyone! May the 4th be with you! Star Wars time! We’re checking out all the Star Wars snacks and popcorn buckets you can get right now in Disney World. From tiny lightsabers to chocolate X-Wings and more, here’s your full guide to Star Wars snacks in Disney World. First, we started in Hollywood Studios, where we tried the Your Chosen Path Cupcake for $6.79 at Backlot Express. It’s a cookies and cream supcake with marshmallow buttercream, a white chocolate X-Wing, and milk chocolate rocks. Inside, there’s a secret lightsaber color that will reveal itself once you start eating. Your Chosen Path Cupcake This treat melts fast, so be ready to eat it quickly! The cookies and cream frosting is rich and sweet and truly tastes like real Oreos. The small milk chocolate rocks on top added a nice crunch, and the chocolate X-Wing was a fun white chocolate treat. It doesn’t quite blend into the flavors, but we enjoyed the Star Wars twist. The frosting on the bottom had a subtle vanilla flavor that felt a bit thicker, but overall, this cupcake was very messy but very fun. It was filling and an easy one to share around the table. Ours was red on the inside At the Milk Stand, we tried the Pink Milk for $9.79, a plant-based rice milk with sweet, fruity notes. Pink Milk This was so fun! We’ve had the blue and green milk for years, but this was such a fun twist. It almost tasted like a candy without the tartness. In a way, it reminded us of bubblegum but with a more strawberry and fruity flavor. It’s the same consistency as the other milk, too, and is a lighter take on the other flavors. It’s like a slushy We also have the Pink Milk Cooler with Rum for $18, which is the same drink as the Pink Milk but with an alcoholic twist. Pink Milk Cooler This tasted just like the other pink milk but with rum! The alcohol is served on top, so you’ll want to mix it before drinking. The fruity flavors were more muted since the alcohol really came through, and we thought the drink was smoother and less sweet than the traditional version. If you want in on the fun but don’t feel as connected to a normal slushy, this is a fun, adult version. Another treat we tried here was the Kerkoiden Blue Cake for $5.29, which is made with a spiced vanilla shortbread cookie with ginger cream cheese icing. Kerkoiden Blue Cake The blueberry flavor really came through, reminding us of a blueberry muffin! The cookie has a layer of icing on top with a sweet vanilla flavor, adding a smooth sweetness that blends well with the blueberry. This is a pretty messy snack, and your hands might be dyed blue at the end, but it was a nice, affordable snack to keep you going throughout your Star Wars day. A simple, but tasty, cookie Heading to Docking Bay 7, we tried the Moof Juice with Rechargeable Lightsaber Swizzle Stick for $15.99. This is Simply Fruit Punch, Simply Orange with Pineapple, and Chipotle-Pineapple served with your choice of rechargeable lightsaber swizzle stick. Moof Juice with Rechargeable Lightsaber Swizzle Stick Perfectly refreshing! It wasn’t too sweet, and we think it’s one of the better alcohol free drinks you can grab around Galaxy’s Edge. The juice flavors all blended together with a strong citrus taste, and we think kids are really going to enjoy this one. Plus, you get a pretty cool lightsaber. At Disney Springs, we grabbed the Bright Suns Chocolate Mousse for $9, which is a milk chocolate mousse, lemon curd, tangerine, and brown butter cake at Amorette’s Patisserie. Bright Suns Chocolate Mousse A chocolate lover’s dream! The brownie is dense and fudgy with a full of dark chocolate shots, while the mousse is very light and chocolatey. The dark chocolate decoration is very delicate and will start melting as soon as you touch it. The brownie was a bit difficult to eat since it’s pretty dense, but it was still great to eat. Brownie time! New popcorn buckets were released, too! We grabbed the Salvaged Protocol Droid Popcorn Bucket, which looks like a droid head. May the 4th be with you! Yes, we’ve made that joke all day, and no, we’re not tired of it yet. Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge There is no better place to celebrate Star Wars Day than by going to Disney Parks! Now, we’re not the only people who want to celebrate this iconic holiday in the theme parks, and that means the crowds have arrived like the Millennium Falcon. Starting us off in Hollywood Studios in Disney World, it was BUSY, but that’s to no one’s surprise. Here’s a look at the marketplace… Marketplace …and Ronto Roasters (gotta get those Ronto Wraps!). Ronto Roasters Busy, busy. Galaxy’s Edge Wait times weren’t too wild. We saw Rise of the Resistance get up to 95, but later in the day, it was only at 80 minutes. Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run was around 40 minutes, too. Our underrated favorite, Star Tours, was a walk-on (per usual). ©Disney A lot of the crowds come for the evening, when there’s a lightsaber meetup. When it gets dark, everyone lights up their lightsabers in front of the Millennium Falcon. Check out the pictures from last year! Lighting up the night with lightsabers Over in Disneyland, the crowds looked very similar (partly because the lands look so similar). Disneyland We definitely felt the crowds in the walkways. A bit hard to walk through There were quieter moments while walking around, which we appreciated. Again, people are likely waiting to come till the evening, so it’s a bit darker (and cooler) out. Moments of calmness Wait times looked very similar in Disneyland, with Rise of the Resistance being at 75 minutes, but Smugglers Run was only 15 minutes, while Star Tours was at 25 minutes, so a bit of a switch-a-roo. You may be tired of hearing the words “major changes,” “closures,” and “Disney World” all in the same sentence, but we’re here, yet again, to warn you that in just ONE week, a massive change is going to take place in Magic Kingdom that you need to know about! The Diamond Horseshoe Disney World’s Cool KIDS’ SUMMER event is set to begin on May 26th and run through September 8th, and as part of the event, numerous additions are coming to the four theme parks. Over in Magic Kingdom, there’s one restaurant that’s about to close to make room for a summer experience, which means this will be your last week to dine here for quite some time! Many people walk straight by The Diamond Horseshoe in Magic Kingdom’s Liberty Square section. If people are craving the Thanksgiving-type meal all year, they usually head straight to Liberty Tree Tavern. That restaurant is delicious, don’t get us wrong, but The Diamond Horseshoe has the EXACT same menu, but often has way more reservations available. The Diamond Horseshoe The ambiance of the restaurant is intended to bring diners back to the Wild West saloons of days past, where cowboys would gather for a good, hearty meal, as well as some entertainment. Despite not being talked about often, it has very rarely let us down, and remains a hidden gem in the park. Diamond Horseshoe However, beginning next week, on May 16th, it’ll be closing to make way for a new experience arriving for Cool KIDS’ SUMMER. Jessie’s Roundup will feature beloved Toy Story characters like Woody, Jessie, and other friends as they encourage guests to participate in some “energetic fun.” Woody and Jessie! Now, this new experience will NOT involve eating, so the entire restaurant portion of this will be going away for the summer. Instead, you’ll be able to participate in crafts, dancing, and maybe even some yodeling from May 26th through September 8th. Disney hasn’t announced too many details about this new experience, despite being less than a month away from opening, but we’re still keeping our eyes out for the latest news to let you know more as soon as we hear it. We go to Disney World almost every day, which means we’re always on the lookout for new gear and travel essentials that should make it into your park bag. We wore poncho pants in Disney World We’ve tried everything from water bottles to rain hats to mobile chargers to neck fans. Let’s talk about rain gear, though. Now, we’ve already discovered that shoe covers and ponchos are VERY handy to have in the theme parks, but what about poncho pants? No, really…those are a thing that exists, and we tested them in Disney World. Get the Disposable Rain Pants, aka Poncho Pants Wearing our poncho pants Okay, for starters, rain is going to happen in Disney World, and you want to stay dry. So on the surface, poncho pants seem like a great idea. So we got this eight-pack of blue and clear poncho pants, but y’all…the material is SO thin. We’re talking produce bag thin. Eight-pack of poncho pants Another problem with these pants is that the leg is not open. It’s sealed. The legs are long enough to fit someone at least 7 feet tall, so you’ll want to cut the pants to length before you use them. However, they could be sealed so you can wear them over your legs and your shoes, but we really don’t think the plastic would last if you had them wrapped around your shoes. Poncho Pants Once you’re wearing the pants, they will certainly keep your legs dry, but that comes at a price. The price is that these will make your legs sweat because they are HOT. Plastic doesn’t breathe, and you’re going to be losing a lot of water weight when you’re wearing them. This doesn’t make them ideal for wearing in Disney World. They don’t breathe So you have to ask yourself…do you want your legs dry or sweaty? Considering these could dehydrate you pretty quickly, our vote is for wet legs.
