  1. We’ve been making our way through the 2024 Disney California Adventure Food & Wine Festival! And we’re about to visit one of the booths we’re MOST excited about. 2024 Nuts About Cheese booth That’s right, folks. The time has come, our raison dêtre has arrived and we are visiting the Nuts About Cheese food booth at 2024 Disney California Adventure Food & Wine Festival. Can you feel the anticipation in the air? Are you ready for all the nuts and cheese you can handle? We’re open to all of it, cheesy nuts and nutty cheeses — come on, Disney, lay it on us! This is our reason for existing! Menu Over at the Nuts About Cheese, just as the name suggests, you’ll find items showcasing nuts and cheeses. 2024 Menu Do you see what we see? Yes, there is an item that lists cheese as an ingredient, but we can find mac and cheese anywhere. And how is Disney showcasing our under-represented friend, the nut? with two items that just have a nutty whisper to them? As big, self-proclaimed cheese fans, we find ourselves disappointed in the menu that promises to be all about nuts and cheese, to be seriously lacking in both nuts and cheeses. But, let’s reserve judgment — maybe Disney really killed it with these dishes. Maybe they can redeem themselves. Eats First up, we grabbed the Big Bad BBQ Pulled Pork Mac and Cheese for $9. Big Bad BBQ Pulled Pork Mac & Cheese with crispy dill pickle onions This dish, as it claims, sports BBQ pulled pork, macaroni and cheese, and is topped with crispy dill pickle onions. BBQ Pulled Pork Mac n Cheese Sooo… how does this mighty fine looking dish TASTE? Well, we found it to be VERY tasty. The pork is cooked nicely and tastes great on its own. It’s seasoned well and the tangy barbecue adds a very pleasant sweetness. BBQ Pulled Pork Mac and Cheese The macaroni and cheese is creamy, delicious, and everything that good mac should be. Just make sure to get EVERYTHING in one bite to get a true explosion of flavor. (That might sound CHEESY but it’s true. ) $9 for mac and cheese is wild, but dare we say that this is worth it? Next, we grabbed the Mickey-shaped Macaron for $7.75. Mickey-shaped Macaron made with SNICKERS bar pieces This dessert is a macaron made with SNICKERS bar pieces. Mickey-Shaped Macaron Let’s look at all of the things we love about this. We love Mickey-shaped anything. We love macarons. We love SNICKERS candy bars. We even might love this fun combination of all of these things. But do we love it at this booth? Mickey-Shaped Macaron Well, it definitely tastes like Snickers! The whole dessert is super heavy and overpowering. It isn’t at all light like a typical macaron. The ganache just totally dominates the taste. Like, we were a few bites into this one and needed a DRANK. The crunch of the nuts was nice, though. Yep, the ONLY NUTS THAT ARE AT THIS NUTS AND CHEESE BOOTH. Anyway, we wouldn’t get this again, but if you can tolerate super rich, decadent chocolate desserts, this might be for you. Mickey-shaped Macaron made with SNICKERS bar pieces This is the NUTS and CHEESE booth. There is hardly any cheese in this beautiful traitor. And the nuts? The pieces of SNICKERS bar offer the most subtle whisper of peanut. A ghostly presence of a nut, barely a nutty impression. This dessert could’ve been so much more! Give us peanut brittle-infused cheesecake, a mini pecan pie, cannoli with sweet ricotta and toasted macadamia nuts. The options are endless and vastly more creative. But Disney opted for the simple, the safe, and Instagrammable (because Mickey-shaped desserts are still adorable). Let’s move on to the drink! Drinks In terms of drinks on this menu, we got the PB&J Whiskey Shake for $16. PB&J Whiskey Shake Redemption, is thy name PB&J Whiskey Shake? It could be! Let’s look at the ingredients! It’s made with Peanut butter whiskey, raspberry liqueur, vanilla ice cream, Joffrey’s Coffee & Tea Co. Mexico Origin Coffee, and peanut butter & raspberry syrups, garnished with a raspberry. PB&J Whiskey Shake Ok, of all of the menu items here, this one may just do justice to showcasing the NUT portion of the Nuts About Cheese claim. Peanut butter whiskey and actual peanut butter in the cocktail could help this infusion of nuttiness overpower the other intense flavors going on like raspberry and coffee. But raspberry and coffee are STRONG flavors! We honestly wish we tasted the raspberry more. The coffee flavor totally takes over. It’s good, but not worth the price. $16 for this tiny drink is theft. OVERALL Are each of these individual items good? Yep. Would we be happy to order them and eat them any ol’ time of the year? Sure. But do they belong at the NUTS ABOUT CHEESE booth? No way. When you claim to be nuts about cheese (and we are the President of the Cheese fan club), we expect some bold cheesy power-players to be headlining the booth! We would come back for the Mac and Cheese, but that’s about it. Save your money on the rest of it. Full Spread 2024 That’s it for this booth, but there’s a LOT more where that came from! 2. One thing’s sure about this returning food booth: the eats and drinks are sure to be… D-Lish!!! 2024 booth The sun is shining, it’s a beautiful day, and we’re hanging out on the West Coast for day one of the 2024 Disney California Adventure Food and Wine Festival in Disneyland Resort! Woohoo! The festival officially started up today and will run through April 22nd. Wondering just what you can eat at the D-Lish booth? Well, we’ve checked it out and now we’re sharing our FULL thoughts. But enough about the logistics, let’s talk about that festival FUN! Now, of course, the fest comes with all sorts of special events, seminars, and more; but we’re focusing on the food (shocker, we know). There are over 10 Festival Marketplaces at this year’s festival, and each one serves up a twist on California-inspired cuisine! Menu Over at the D-Lish booth, this booth is small but mighty! And it’s hosting one our blast from the past Best of the Fest picks from 2020! Menu Now that we’ve taken a look at the menu, let’s dive into the food itself! Eats First up, we grabbed the Carbonara Garlic Mac & Cheese featuring Nueske’s Peppered Bacon for $9. This hearty beauty won over our hearts in 2020, when it was featured at the Garlic Kissed booth. And for good reason. Garlic + Pasta + Cheese + Bacon = DFB heartthrob . All of those key ingredients have returned, but does it hold up to the memory? Carbonara Garlic Mac & Cheese featuring Nueske’s Peppered Bacon The answer is “Yes!” It’s super cheesy (and you know we LOVE that) and we love the texture the crunchy topping gives it. The bacon adds a nice saltiness. So cheesy! After our savory walk down memory lane, reminiscing about cheesy, bacony, mouthfuls, we saddled up for a little something sweet and NEW for this both. For dessert, we grabbed the Olive Oil Cake for $7. The Olive Oil Cake is glazed with lemon curd, topped with vanilla bean Chantilly, and finished with fresh candied lemons, strawberry crunch, and lemon-lime gelée. What better to help cut through the rich cheesy, salty, and rich pasta dish, than with a sweet and tart citrusy dessert?! Olive Oil Cake This cake has so much wonderful flavor with a mix of tart and sweetness. It’s refreshing and really tastes like spring. The cake is dense but moist. The vanilla bean Chantilly cream is light and airy and adds just an extra hint of sweetness. Confession time: we couldn’t stop eating this cake. Yes, D-Lish, we WILL be back. So what about something to wash this food down with? Drinks And last but not least, we needed a little something to wash it all down with. We grabbed the Huckleberry-Citrus Cooler for $7. The Huckleberry-Citrus Cooler is non-alcoholic but still gives us those “treat yo’self” vibes. It is made with Gold Peak Black Tea, huckleberry and agave syrups, grapefruit soda, and lemon and orange juices garnished with an orange wedge. Perhaps the perfect drink to sippin’ on while you are in a rocking chair on your front porch watching the sunset. Huckleberry Citrus Cooler It really is delicious and so refreshing. You get a nice tart lemonade flavor, but it’s still on the sweeter side. Both flavors balance each other out, though. We’re thinking this drink might be SUPER popular. OVERALL We’re just going to tell you that if you only visit ONE food booth at this year’s festival, make it this one. Everything here was a 10 out of 10 for us and we’re already making plans to return later. Get the mac and cheese, get the cake, get the drink. Trust us. 3. EPCOT is one of our favorite Disney World parks to spend time in. EPCOT There are so many incredible pavilions to explore, foods to eat, shows to see, and of course — rides to ride! But, not every day in EPCOT can be perfect, and folks got to experience that firsthand when a ride was evacuated due to an emergency recently. Frozen Ever After was evacuated due to an emergency in the building on February 29th. Cast Members were stationed out front to advise folks they’d have to come back later if they wanted to ride. They were also providing experience redemption passes (basically rain checks) for people with Lightning Lanes. Evacuated But, it seems like whatever the emergency was got cleared up pretty quickly as wait times started showing not too long after we stopped by. Frozen Ever After In situations like this, it’s always important to remember to listen to Cast Members as they’re trained to keep everyone safe and know just what to do if an emergency arises. On the flip side, if a ride you were planning on going on is suddenly closed, don’t worry — chances are it’ll be back up and running soon! And, if you purchased a Lightning Lane but a ride is down, stop by Guest Relations and they can usually help you out. 6. Things are always changing in Disney World. Animal Kingdom Rides close. New rides get built. Entire lands get reimagined. New foods pop up ALL the time (our FAVE new things, obviously). But even from day to day, things can change, like hours for showtimes, parades, and even rides. Well, there’s a big change coming up with one ride in Disney World that we need to warn you about. So, as you may know, Kilimanjaro Safaris in Disney’s Animal Kingdom generally closes earlier than the park does. That’s because the ride closes before sunset because it gets too dark. Now, this hasn’t ALWAYS been the case and, at one point, you could take a safari at night, but over the past few years, Disney has decided it’s best for the animals, Cast Members, and visitors this way. Giraffe during Kilimanjaro Safaris Well, Daylight Saving Time starts on March 10th, which means we’ve been expecting the hours for Kilimanjaro Safaris to change after that since it will be getting darker later. We checked on the Disney World website and saw that the ride closes at 5:45PM on March 9th and then closes later, at 6:45PM on March 10th. ©Disney However, the hours seem to change again later. On March 17th, the ride closes at 6PM. We’re not entirely sure what’s up with that, but we wanted to give you a heads up, just in case. ©Disney Now, these hours COULD change before then. We recommend checking those hours before you head to the park so you can make sure you get to the ride (if it’s a priority) before it closes. You can check hours on the Disney World website or through the My Disney Experience app. Zebra! This is a ride that we will ALWAYS recommend in Animal Kingdom, and the beauty of it is that it’s never the same twice because you NEVER know what the animals are going to do. You’ll get to see animals in a habitat as close to their natural habitats as possible while getting some interesting details about their lives on the savannah. Stay tuned to DFB for more. 8. The EPCOT Flower & Garden Festival is underway and we are REALLY enjoying it! Spaceship Earth We spent the first day of the festival getting photos of ALL the cool new merchandise, eating ALL the food (so much food, y’all), and checking out the festival entertainment. One of our favorite parts of this festival, though, id the gorgeous displays of topiaries throughout EPCOT — these plant-based works of art always wow. However, one of this year’s NEW topiaries, showed us its SHINING secret last night! This year, six NEW character topiaries made their debut at the festival. One of those topiaries is the Wish topiary, which features Asha, Star, and Valentino from Disney’s most recent animated movie. The topiaries are surrounded by mushrooms and other plants. ‘Wish’ topiary in EPCOT Just like in the movie, Asha is looking up to the stars to guide her — well, one particular star. Little did we know, though, that THIS Star has a secret. Once the sun sets and the lights go down in EPCOT, this star GLOWS. Yep, this year, Disney gave us a glowing topiary. So if you find yourself in EPCOT during the Flower & Garden Festival, be sure to check out this fun topiary at night! As we said, this display has three of six NEW topiaries joining the festival this year. You can also see topiaries featuring Groot… Groot! …and Miguel and Dante from Coco. 9. We love staying at Disney World hotels! Don’t you? Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort The hotels at Disney World offer so much fun, magic, and immersion no matter which option you choose (value, moderate, or deluxe). They really are great — except for the times when they’re not! So we wanted to find out what your thoughts were about the cringiest things you’ve ever seen in Disney World hotels. We asked and boy, did you deliver! We reached out to our followers on Facebook to ask: “What’s the CRINGIEST thing you’ve ever seen in a Disney World hotel?” The results were pretty varied. We had quite a few people leave their opinions in the comments! What do you think? Now, let’s dive into some of the top results! 1. Judging Others Can you believe it? Some folks just can’t handle the sight of families having a blast together in The Most Magical Place On Earth. Overwhelmingly, many of you shared instances of witnessing others being judged for simply enjoying precious moments with their families. Remember, folks, it’s all about spreading joy and creating memories! (136 cringe-worthy mentions) Relax and play a game at Coronado Springs! This response sums it all up: “People judging others for having a wonderful time with their families. Like aren’t we all here to have a great time? Let people have and thoroughly enjoy their moment. Some people can only afford to go once in a lifetime, and I think it’s important to respect that. ” 2. Mirror, Mirror on the Wall This next one definitely takes the silver medal. Picture this: you’re stepping out of the shower, feeling refreshed, only to catch an unexpected glimpse of yourself in the mirror. Yep, we’ve all been there! (90 cringe-worthy mentions) Mirror These two responses sum up those feelings perfectly: “I once caught my reflection in the mirror as I stepped out of the shower” and “My reflection in the bathroom mirror. For a second, I thought I was in the Haunted Mansion.” 3. Shorts or Swimsuits? Moving on to a slightly more public situation, we know that Disney is all about expressing yourself, but some attire choices leave us scratching our heads. Shorts shorter than bathing suit bottoms? Now that’s a fashion statement we weren’t prepared for! (54 cringe-worthy mentions) Fuentes del Morro pool This response sums it up perfectly: “Shorts so short you can see their whole lower butt cheeks. I know it’s hot but come on.” 4. Unorthodox Uses for Pillowcases Okay, so this might sound like a silly question, but pillowcases are meant for pillows, right? Well, I guess that’s not the case for everyone, apparently! It turns out that some guests get a bit, shall we say, creative with their pillowcase usage, and let’s just say it’s not what you’d expect. (52 cringe-worthy mentions) Extra Pillow and Blanket This might just be the winning response: “Oh honey…. I used to work in Housekeeping … I could tell you some cringe stuff! Like guests that had such disrespect they would use the pillowcases as baby wipes… There was so much ridiculous stuff people did.” 5. Hygiene Hazards In the battle against germs, some guests seem to have thrown in the towel. Seriously, we thought washing your hands after using the restroom was basic hygiene 101! Yet, some guests seem to have missed the memo. Please, for everyone’s sake, make sure to wash up after using the facilities! (41 cringe-worthy mentions) Sink These two responses sum up those feelings perfectly: “People walking out of the restroom and not washing their hands” and “so true. Then they hold onto the same ride restraints and railings on queues. Disgusting.” 6. The Not-So-Magical Bill While not technically “cringey,” it’s definitely a reality check after a magical (and expensive) Disney vacation. (37 wallet-wrenching mentions) ©Shutterstock This response sums it up perfectly: “You mean besides the bill? ” Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort Those were just some of your thoughts on the cringiest thing you’ve ever seen in a Disney World hotel and we’d love to find out more from you! 11. We are excited to bring you a FIRST LOOK at a BRAND-NEW resort in Orlando! Let’s check out Evermore Resort! Evermore Resort has SO much to explore so let’s get into it! Evermore Orlando Resort is a project 5 years and 1 billion dollars in the making! We were invited to take a peak into some of the available houses and flats, and check out the expansive grounds of the resort! Accommodations There are A LOT of options for accommodations at Evermore Resort. You can rent a house ranging from 5-11 bedrooms, 4 bedrooms flats, 2 or 4 bedroom villas OR hotel rooms located at the Conrad Orlando. Gorgeous landscaping throughout! We had the opportunity to tour a 9-bedroom and 11-bedroom house, as well as a 4-bedroom flat. Without further ado, let’s check out the digs! 9 Bedroom Rental House Starting off strong with NINE bedrooms! This house can sleep up to 26 people and there is a bathroom for EVERY bedroom! Front entrance to 9-bedroom house Not to mention that the houses each have their OWN, PRIVATE salt-water pool in the backyard. There is lots of great deck space outside as well. That pool is DEFINITELY calling our name! Private Saltwater Pool with spacious outdoor space Inside, you will find a HUGE kitchen that is stocked with all your kitchen-wares. Just add food and some love! Or if you don’t feel like cooking, you can take advantage of the “Evermore to Your Door” service and choose from a variety of options: having a chef cook FOR YOU in your kitchen, have a staff member stock your fridge for you, have ready-to-eat catered meals delivered or have prepared meals that just need to be heated up delivered! HUGE, fully-stocked kitchen! Off of the kitchen is a main seating area and dining room. This area is perfect for large groups! There are two dining table, and each table can comfortably fit 10 people. The sofa could squeeze in a BUNCH, all depending on how comfortable you are with having no personal space! Great dining and seating area on the first floor! As well, something we were WAY too excited for: a washer and dryer! These appliances are lifesavers and having clean, laundry just makes our heart happy! We also thought it was great that all of the staff is employed by the resort, and they keep an inventory of parts to fix anything that may come up! No more worrying about a refrigerator that isn’t getting cold or a leaky faucet! AND a washer & dryer, rejoice! Now, moving on to the bedrooms! This house has nine bedrooms, and they were all a GREAT size! Each one has a bathroom, a closet and lots of space! One of NINE bedrooms! The bathrooms were so nice as well! Bathroom sizes did differ a bit, but they all had plenty of space to get yourself ready for the day! Lovely bathroom! This bedroom has two beds in it with an attached bathroom! Two beds in one! Time for sleepover activities! And some more bathroom shots because we loved the red accents in this one! Lots of cabinet space and provided bathroom supplies! The red just pops so nicely! We won’t show you pictures of EVERY single bedroom in this house, but know that they were all very spacious, bright and had a great bathroom! The houses are THREE stories tall, so let’s head upstairs and see what awaits! The second floor has its very own seating area with a TV AND PING-PONG TABLE! Bring on the ping-pong competition! Second floor seating area with a ping-pong table! Up the last flight of stairs we go, and into another seating area! This one also has a TV and a hidden surprise around the corner! Third floor seating area, with a surprise! ARCADE GAMES! We think this is such a cool addition and I am sure the kiddos in your group will love playing on these machines! Who’s ready for some games? The third floor also boasts a shuffle-board table for even more competitions! So excited for a shuffle-board table! Additionally, this floor also had a bunk bedroom with attached bathroom! We think this room would be SO much fun for the kiddos! Bunk beds galore! And a quick peek into the attached bathroom for the bunk beds! The sinks are so fun looking! There is so much space in this house and we loved that each bedroom had its own bathroom. There are three separate seating areas and also lots of entertainment for the kids! 11-Bedroom Rental House Now moving onto the 11-bedroom home! This house can sleep 32 people. This one is very similar to the 9-bedroom homes and all the bedrooms/bathrooms look very similar. Although this house has one AMAZING addition, so keep reading! 11-Bedroom House First Floor Seating Area Outside there is also a lovely hammock for relaxing and dreaming about your plans for the day! I can see it now, a book in hand and feet propped up! There was also this cornhole set and a swing chair that was SO great! We could swing in that thing ALL DAY! Cornhole and a swing seat are a winning combination! It is now time for the greatest addition to the 11-bedroom house! Are you ready for it? Drumroll please………A SLIDE!!!!! How awesome is that?!? This slide takes you from the third floor down to the second floor and we thought this was so cool. Whhhaaattt?!?! So fun! This house also had lots of great space and we really think the addition of a slide is AMAZING! The slide is only in the 11-bedroom homes though! 4 Bedroom Flat Now moving on from the houses, we got to tour a 4-bedroom flat next! The flat we toured was located overlooking the Evermore Bay and was inside of a five-story building. No worries though, they had elevators! We are headed into the far building! The inside is very similar to the houses but look at that VIEW!! It was mesmerizing and we could probably sit out there all day long! We just can’t get over that view! The kitchen was also a really great size for the flat and is also stocked with the kitchen essentials! A beautiful kitchen! The bedrooms in the flat were also a great size and have their own bathroom! Plus, peep that view outside the window, GORGEOUS! Bedroom with a view! The bathrooms in the flat are equally as impressive and each bedroom has a bathroom attached to it! Even more bathroom shots! We thought the flats were a great, smaller option. Plus, the ones that overlook Evermore Bay have a FABULOUS view! Check out our tips for planning the BEST Disney World Vacation! Resort Amenities Now onto the AMAZING amenities available at Evermore Resort! While the houses and flats are gorgeous, the Evermore Bay is spectacular! This bay is filled with 17 MILLION GALLONS of water and has 2/3 miles of beach front. The beach complex is 20 acres, and all the activities are included except renting a cabana. If you need me, I will be at Evermore Bay! While hanging out at Evermore Bay you can also use complimentary kayaks and paddleboards to explore! There is also a family waterslide with four side-by-side slides you can race down! There is LOTS of seating and even an adorable beach bar VW to get your favorite cocktail! Grab a drink, take a seat, and relax! You can choose from a multitude of seating areas and get ready to relax the day away! The Landing Next up we are heading over to The Landing! This is one of the main buildings at Evermore and houses their banquet hall, Twin View Restaurant, Food Hall, and Guest Services! There is lots to see so let’s head in! The Landing We are starting off in the banquet area of The Landing which can be rented out for events and weddings! Banquet Hall ready to host your event! Next is the Twinview Restaurant! This restaurant serves three meals a day, and even if you are not staying at the resort, you can book a dinner reservation here through Open Table! Twinview has a modern Florida menu that is a constantly rotating menu. One of the executive chef’s hopes for the dining at Evermore is indulgence and this restaurant is made to do just that! A look inside Twinview! Then we headed over to The Food Hall area! This area is only for Evermore Guests but provides a fantastic place to grab some food from a variety of options! You can grab some pizza at Props Pizza, chow down on a burger at Craft Burgers, grab a wrap at Thats a Wrap! or a cup of coffee from Sandhill Provisions. The Food Hall There are also two different fitness centers in Evermore Resort. This fitness center is located in The Landing and has a large selection of gym equipment. Evermore Resort runs daily fitness classes, and you also have access to on-demand fitness classes in your room or in the fitness centers. One of two fitness centers Additional Information If you are not staying at Evermore Resort, there are still a few activities you can take advantage of! You can dine at the Twinview Restaurant for dinner (reservations can be made on Open Table) and you can also visit the Conrad Orlando’s restaurants and spa. Only Evermore Resort guests can use The Food Hall, Evermore Bay or additional activities offered at the resort. Beautiful! Unfortunately, the Evermore Resort does not provide transportation to the Disney Parks. There is a trolley that runs within the resort to quickly move you around the resort, but you will need to drive/uber/etc. in order to get to the parks. Each house does have its own unique address which makes scheduling an Uber pick-up easier! Resort trolley to transport you around the resort The staff at the resort were all incredible! They were all super friendly and more than willing to help out. The Evermore Resort has great accommodations and amazing amenities. It is located close to the Disney Parks, as well as other Orlando attractions. I wish this could be my view always! We were so impressed by the massive Evermore Bay, and it provides gorgeous views! From kayaking to delicious food, there is lots to explore at the Evermore Resort! Check out our list of the best Disney resorts for 2024! 12. Heading to EPCOT soon? You can experience the International Flower & Garden Festival! Flower & Garden Festival This year’s festival runs from February 28th through May 27th, and we were there on the first day to try ALL the food booths and all the new eats (plus some returning favorites!). We battled our way through dozens of dishes with varying prices, and we’re here to tell you that if you’re on the Disney Dining Plan, this festival might be a great place to get some bang for your buck! The Disney Dining Plan is an add-on for vacation packages at Disney World that allows you to purchase your meals and snacks in advance. With your Dining Plan, you’re given a specific number of “credits” per person, per day to use on meals and snacks. To get the most value out of your dining plan, the best thing to do is to spend those credits on the most expensive items possible. EPCOT And at EPCOT? Well, many of the festival food items can be purchased using your snack credits. We’ve rounded up a list of the best value snack credits at the 2024 EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival! Veal Tenderloin from EPCOT Farmers Feast At Farmers Feast, the menu rotates throughout the festival, but during the Early Bloom Menu (which is available February 28th-March 30th), you can grab the Veal Tenderloin with spring pea risotto featuring Ben’s Original International Grains Arborio Rice and red wine syrup. Veal Tenderloin This dish comes out to $8.50, making it a great use of a snack credit! Grilled Warm Lobster Tail at Florida Fresh During the first day of the festival, Florida Fresh’s booth hadn’t yet opened, but they were serving the Florida Fresh menu inside the Odyssey Pavilion. There, we got to try the Grilled Warm Lobster Tail with Key lime butter. Grilled Warm Water Lobster Tail with Key lime butter This is one of the most expensive food items at this year’s festival, priced at $11.25. Steam Bun at Hanami Heading over to the Japan Pavilion, they’ve got a couple of good values this year! The first is the Steam Bun filled with vegetables and plant-based soy meat. Steam Bun filled with vegetables and plant-based soy meat This item is brand-new this year and it’s available for $8.50. Ramen Cup at Hanami Also at Hanami, you’ll find the Ramen Cup, which is ramen salad shaken in a cup with fresh vegetables, grilled chicken, and dashi broth with chili oil and yuzu. This is another brand new festival item! Ramen Cup The portion on this cup is pretty solid, and it’s $8.50, so it’s a great use of a snack credit. Sope de Chilorio at Jardin de Fiestas At the front of the World Showcase in the Mexico Pavilion, you’ll find Jardin de Fiestas! This booth has a new item called the Sope de Chilorio in 2024. It’s made with Guajillo pepper-braised pork on fried corn shells with black beans, shredded cabbage, crema Mexicana, queso fresco, and chives. Sope de Chilorio This is now available at Jardin de Fiestas for $8.50. Tamale de Rajas at Jardin de Fiestas Also available at the Mexico Pavilion booth is the Tamale de Rajas. It’s made with Poblano peppers, corn, and cheese in masa topped with poblano cream sauce, crema Mexicana, pickled carrots, and onions with chives. Tamale de Rajas This one is a little bit more expensive, priced at $8.75. House-Made Cheesy Crab Wontons at Lotus House One of our returning favorites is the House-made Cheesy Crab Wontons in the China Pavilion. We’ve had these many times at Lotus House, and we keep coming back for more! Cheesy Crab Wontons This year, they’re available for $8.25 and we got three with our order. Not the largest portion of the items on the list, honestly. Spicy Hot Dog at Pineapple Promenade Another returning item that we’ve seen at the festival for several years in a row now is the Spicy Hot Dog with pineapple chutney and plantain chips. You’ll find this at Pineapple Promenade in the front of World Showcase! Spicy Hot Dog If you’re a hot dog fan (or a pineapple fan, I guess!) you can grab this for $8. Arrabbiata at Primavera Kitchen The Italy Pavilion is known for having festival booths with expensive items, but in this case, it pays off for those using the Dining Plan! For Flower & Garden, you can get the Arrabbiata for $9.25. Arrabbiata It’s made with pennette pasta, spicy tomato sauce, and buttery shrimp and it’s brand-new this year! 13. When you’re traveling to Disney World, you’re very likely planning months, maybe even years, in advance. ©Costco A lot of this could be saving up for your trip — not just for staying on property or for the park tickets, but also saving for souvenirs, dining reservations, and of course, the plane tickets to get there (or gas to drive)! If you’re planning your Disney World trip and you’re a Costco member, these are some deals you need to know about — gift card deals, that is! First off, you can get a discount on Disney gift cards at Costco! They do come and go off Costco’s web site and the prices change from time to time, but you can usually get at least 5% more for your money by buying a Disney gift card through Costco! ©Disney Costco members can often save on packs of gift cards, and some of these can really come in handy when you’re planning for your trip! For example, if you’re flying Southwest, grab a $500 Southwest Gift Card for just $449.99! ©Costco That’s a $50 (10%) savings, and you can redeem up to 5 of them, so it’s a great way to save money on flights! Combine this with one of Southwest’s frequent airfare sales, and you’ve really got a great deal going. Check it out! If you plan to dine at some table-service restaurants while you’re in Disney World, specifically Rainforest Cafe (located just outside Disney’s Animal Kingdom and in Disney Springs), T-Rex Cafe at Disney Springs, or Yak and Yeti Restaurant in Animal Kingdom, you’ll want to grab a two-pack of Landry’s Gift Cards that total $100 for only $79.99! ©Costco All of these restaurants are owned by Landry’s so you can use these gift cards while you’re in the park! It’s a great way to have a nice meal (especially over at Yak and Yeti, which we recommend over Rainforest Cafe and T-Rex), and save some money while you’re at it. Check it out! Now, as a reminder, Costco can pull these deals whenever they want, so while they’re available at the time of writing this post, things can change fast! We encourage checking out Costco’s website to see what gift card deals they currently have available and seeing if any will be beneficial to your trip. And don’t forget that going in person may mean you see gift cards that aren’t available online. ©Shutterstock As always, stay tuned to DFB for all the latest Disney news! 15. We love visiting Disneyland on any normal day, but we especially love visiting when it can benefit a charity. Disneyland Disney works with many different charities, such as Give Kids The World, to help support them in their important missions. If you’re looking for a fun day in Disney that will also help benefit a charity organization, the CHOC Walk has officially set its 2024 date! Disneyland Resort’s popular 5K event, CHOC Walk in The Park, is returning again this year and has set its date — Sunday, July 21st, 2024! This charity walk benefits the Children’s Hospital of Orange County (CHOC) and has been a tradition for 32 years. ©Disney This is the first time the event will take place in July, but fundraisers will still travel on the 3ish-mile course through both parks, coming across exciting surprises before the parks open to day guests. Based on previous counts, this event is expected to bring in 350-400 teams, including participants from the United States, Canada, Mexico, Australia, and Japan! Disneyland So why move the event to July? Jessica Miley, senior vice president and chief development officer for CHOC, said, “By moving the event to late July, we hope to help families join us by avoiding conflicts with back-to-school activities or planned August family vacations,” as well as help them avoid the higher possibility of rain or storms. 16. If you follow along with Walt Disney Company news, you’re probably familiar with Disney’s attempts to better relationships with India. Disney World When Disney bought 21st Century Fox, it also acquired the Star India network. That gave Disney a new audience of over 700 million people. India has proven a challenge for Disney, though, particularly after the company lost streaming rights for the Indian Premier League cricket matches. Disney is trying to improve business in India, though. Reportedly, the company is in discussions with Reliance Industries, the company that beat Disney for those rights. The two companies seem to be considering combining their businesses in the country, giving 51% ownership to Reliance. Now, we’ve gotten an update on the situation! According to Reuters, Reliance and Disney announced an $8.5 billion entertainment merger, creating an “billion entertainment juggernaut far ahead of rivals in the world’s most populous nation.” Reliance is headed by Asia’s richest man, Mukesh Ambani, and will contribute $1.4 billion in the merger, holding a more than 63% stake. Disney will own the rest, the companies said in a joint statement. Hi, Mickey! This allows Disney a shot to retain users in India as well as right the financial strain caused by Disney’s loss of cricket media rights. The merger values Disney’s business in India to be lower than in the past, when Disney attained the Star India Network. Then, Disney was valued at roughly $15 billion, and now, it’s valued at around $3 billion. Although, a senior Disney source told Reuters that the value of Disney’s assets in India was closer to $4.3 billion when accounting for synergies. Cinderella Castle The merged entertainment industry will have 120 TV channels, two streaming platforms, and TV and streaming cricket rights for key tournaments. This is expected to create a “sports behemoth” in India, with over 750 million expected viewers. Cinderella Castle An analyst at India’s Prabhudas Lilladher, Jinesh Joshi, said, “This merger will give Reliance great bargaining power when it comes to negotiating advertisement contracts … For Disney, coming together with a bigger player, in terms of (financial) pockets, will give it a cash cushion.” Magic Kingdom “Reliance has a deep understanding of the Indian market and consumer,” Disney CEO Bog Iger said in a statement, and the deal will allow “us to better serve consumers with a broad portfolio of digital services and entertainment and sports.” ©Disney With this merger officially taking place, we’re left to wonder if Disney will continue to build a reputation in India. It’s already suspected among Disney fans that a new park could be put in India, but we’ll just have to wait and see. We’ll be sure to keep you updated with any and all Disney news, so make sure to follow along so that you’re always in the loop and never miss a thing. Looking for more Disney streaming news? 21. We’re a little under a month away from Disney’s annual shareholder meeting. Walt Disney World On April 3rd, shareholders will have the opportunity to vote for Disney’s next Board of Directors. Currently, Disney has recommended their 12 nominees, but they are amidst a proxy battle with activist investors Nelson Peltz (of Trian Group) and Jay Rasulo (former CFO of the Walt Disney Company). While most of the battle has taken place between Disney and those two parties, a third group often gets cast into the shadows: Blackwells Capital. Formerly, Blackwells filed their official proxy statement for the shareholders meeting, which recommended that the media giant split up its real estate into independent public real estate investment trusts. Then, cash and interests could be distributed to shareholders. Now, Blackwells has shared another way that Disney could boost shares. Partners statue in Disney World According to U.S. News and World Report, Blackwells is suggesting that Disney come up with an artificial intelligence (AI) strategy. They stated that doing so could “lift the U.S. media and entertainment conglomerate’s stock price by as much as 129%.” Animal Kingdom In a presentation given on Monday, February 26th, Blackwells said, “Disney must produce an artificial intelligence strategy, and share elements of that strategy with its shareholders.” Disney’s Hollywood Studios Blackwells didn’t acknowledge Disney’s investment in new technologies or the fact that Disney is already viewed as a global leader in innovative entertainment. Just last year, Disney formed an AI Task Force to study AI and strategize how it could be used across the company — from media to in-park entertainment. Spaceship Earth Further, this suggestion follows the first quarterly earnings call of fiscal 2024, where Disney announced a partnership with Epic Games, the creators of Fortnite. This $1.5 billion investment will bring a never-before-seen gaming experience to Fortnite, and Disney CEO Bob Iger alluded to a metaverse world where entertainment, shopping, and even gameplay would be possible. ©Disney The partnership announcement proceeds Disney’s partnership with the all-new Apple Vision Pro virtual reality experience, as well as Disney’s Holo Tile — a virtual reality “treadmill” experience. Disney describes the Holo Tile floor technology as the “world’s first multi-person, omni-directional, modular, expandable, treadmill floor.” This could be combined with another sort of virtual reality experience (like Apple Vision Pro) to make the user really feel like they’re part of a different universe. ©Disney Lanny Smoot shows off the Holo Tile floor he invented. So, a lot of Disney fans are scratching their heads at Blackwells’ suggestion that Disney isn’t ALREADY in the works of bringing AI and further innovation to the parks. Now, that’s not to totally disregard the second part of Blackwells’ suggestion: that Disney SHARE the AI strategy with shareholders. It’s safe to say that yes, Disney’s shares WOULD likely be boosted if they shared with the public a solidified strategy that demonstrated how AI would be implemented into the parks and film production. We’ll just have to tune in to the April 3rd shareholders meeting to see how things play out. We’ll keep you updated with any and all Disney news, so make sure to follow along so that you never miss a thing. Looking for more shareholder news? Click here! 22. Listen, while Disney World is a magical place, it’s still a public place, which means some embarrassing things can happen. Magic Kingdom Our readers have shared their nightmare Disney situations with us before, and we’ve been in a lot of the same embarrassing situations that you guys have found yourselves in. But it’s been a while since we’ve shared some of our own personal stories, so here are some *lovely* embarrassing stories from our team to give you a laugh. AJ just made a video about some mistakes she made in Disney World, and you can watch it right here! Sometimes Audience Participation Isn’t Always Wanted Over at Monsters Inc. Laugh Floor in Magic Kingdom, there’s a lot of audience participation that goes into the show, especially if you’re seeing the Halloween or Christmas overlays that happen during the park’s special after-hours events. The show will randomly select guests to participate, which is how one of our team members found herself red in the face and all eyes on her. Monster’s Inc. Laugh Floor During the holiday overlay one year, she was asked to talk about the town she lives in and describe it so the monsters could sing a song about it. You know when someone asks you a question you know the answer to, but under pressure the answer flies out of your brain? That was a bit of what it was like for our team member! TRON is Confusing, Okay? TRON Lightcycle / Run is Disney World’s newest ride, located in Magic Kingdom, and while the ride vehicles are super cool (you sit on them in a leaning forward, like you’re riding a motorcycle), they’re a little confusing. And one of our own found herself a little confused getting on the ride for the first time. TRON Lightcycle / Run To keep it short, she tried to get on the Lightcycle backwards. When she realized it wasn’t working well, a Cast Member instructed her to turn around, asking her, “How did you think you were going to grab the handle bars?” Telling us the story, she said, “I DIDN’T think! Clearly!” Always. Look. Where. You. Sit. This next story happened to one of our writer’s boyfriends, but we’re still counting it. When he went to Disney World for the first time, he wore light-colored shorts and just happened to sit on melted ice cream…brown ice cream. Mickey Bar! The worst part is, they didn’t notice for THREE HOURS! The moral of the story? Always look before you sit down! Roller Coasters in Rain? Maybe Not A Great Idea. If there’s no lightning in the area, outdoor rides will stay open in the rain. In this case, you may get to ride a roller coaster like Big Thunder Mountain Railroad in the rain! As cool as that sounds, beware. Big Thunder Mountain Railroad One of our writers and his wife decided to ride Big Thunder Mountain in the pouring rain, because why not? Well, neither of them can tell you what the ride looks like, because the rain was so heavy, it was PAINFUL hitting them as they rode! So they wrapped their hoods around their faces to protect themselves and just held on. He says that after that, his wife wasn’t too happy with him the rest of the day. Splash Mountain Gets You REALLY Soaked (Don’t Say We Didn’t Warn You) That same writer had a different story for us, this time over at Splash Mountain in Disneyland when it was open (we figured we’d include it because it could have happened in Disney World just as easily!). Disneyland Splash Mountain on Final Day of Operation On a hot day, our writer got in line for Splash Mountain and was seated in the front row. Needless to say, he got SO soaked, that his entire outfit was ruined (and we mean ENTIRE outfit). He headed over to the Adventureland Bazaar and had to buy an entire new outfit — flip flops that consistently slid off his feet for the rest of the day, Tiki-themed shorts that ended up being too big, and an expensive sweatshirt (that he says he still wears, so not a total loss). In his words, “I looked like an idiot who thought I was at the beach the rest of the day.” Bananas in Bag? BAD IDEA. This last story also takes place in Disneyland, but in the Haunted Mansion line, so again, it could just as easily happen in Disneyland. Haunted Mansion in Disneyland At the time, our writer was 17 and visiting Disneyland for the first time. She had done meticulous planning, and knew that bringing snacks into the park was a good idea. Wanting to be a little healthy, she had grabbed a banana from the hotel breakfast and stuck it in her bag (see where this is going?). Well, in the Haunted Mansion line, she went to put her water bottle back in her bag, not thinking, and SMUSH. There goes the banana, all over the inside of her bag. So she rode the whole attraction knowing there was a gross smushed banana in her bag, which made the ride slightly less enjoyable. Magic Kingdom So the next time you trip over something in the parks, or spill something on your outfit, don’t worry, WE’VE BEEN THERE! And so have tons of the other guests around you! The embarrassment will pass, and soon it’ll become a funny memory that you and your family can laugh at together. As always, stay tuned to DFB for all the latest Disney stories, news, and more! 23. Is anyone interested in an around-the-world cruise? ©Holland America To us, that sounds like the ultimate world adventure! We LOVE being able to travel, and hearing about this cruise really piqued our interest. While we are able to travel around the world at EPCOT on a regular basis, sometimes visiting countries other than Norway, Italy, or France sounds very appealing. Now, it is possible to visit 39 (!!!) different countries on a SINGLE cruise. Now, this is something we HAVE to talk about. Holland America is a cruise line that is familiar with long-term cruises. They have plenty of cruises advertised on their website — some ranging from as short as 17 days to as long as 133 days. With this in mind, they have some pretty epic sailings to offer guests. ©Holland America Per USA Today, a cruise they have announced for 2026 is a world cruise that includes stops in 39 different countries. This cruise will be 132 days long, so make sure you pack accordingly! ©Holland America As if this cruise wasn’t special enough, throughout all of the countries you visit, you will be making stops at every single continent. Throughout the 39 countries you will visit, you’ll be hitting 47 ports to step off the ship and explore the area. ©Holland America The cruise disembarks from Fort Lauderdale, Florida, and takes you on a unique journey around the world. You’ll journey throughout South America, take in the scenery of Antarctica, and then you’ll continue your journey. Guests on this cruise will then sail around Australia, Southeast Asia, Northern Europe, and MORE. After this journey, guests will end up back in Fort Lauderdale to be reunited with their friends and family while they attempt to get their land legs back. ©Holland America This voyage will be taking place on Holland America’s Volendam ship, which can carry 1,432 passengers. This cruise will disembark on January 4th, 2026, so if you want to take part, make sure you keep that in mind! ©Holland America Tickets for this cruise aren’t on sale just yet, but we’ll be looking out for when they do. 25. Connections Cafe & Eatery is a standard quick service location in EPCOT, but they have something special for this year’s 2024 Flower & Garden Festival. Connections Cafe & Eatery Come with us to see what Connections Cafe & Eatery has to offer for the park’s springtime celebration! Come by here while enjoying the Festival’s famous Disney topiaries, garden displays, and entertainment. Are these festival eats worth the stop? Let’s find out. Let’s take a look at what’s new this year and what’s returning to Connections Cafe & Eatery for the Flower & Garden Festival! Menu At Connections Cafe & Eatery, we spy a cute returning treat and two new items! If you’ve got an appetite, Connections Cafe has you covered with its Hot Honey Chicken Sandwich. Connections Menu Looking for a new sip? Try the Blood Orange-Hibiscus Margarita! Connections Menu The Orange Bird Liege Waffle is back! Connections Menu Let’s dig in! Eats First up, we grabbed a new item, the Hot Honey Chicken Sandwich. Hot Honey Chicken Sandwich This is a Southern-fried chicken sandwich with hot honey and pickles on a brioche bun and served with fries. Hot Honey Chicken Sandwich The chicken sandwich is really good, but there is a catch — it’s not hot! Not even “Disney-hot”! When we tried it, we didn’t taste even the slightest amount of heat, which could be a benefit for some risk-averse eaters. Looking for that promised heat… Our chicken could’ve been a little crispier in some parts, but overall, we thought it was very tasty! The sandwich is dripping in honey which makes it super sweet and incredibly flavorful. The pickles on the bottom and the mix of veggies and slaw on top provide delightful flavors as well as an excellent crunch texture, all while giving the sandwich a nice freshness. Yum! Overall, we thought this was one of the better options on the Connections menu and is a full meal in a festival where full meals are hard to find. You can grab this tasty dish for $12.49. Next up, we grabbed the adorable returning Orange Bird Liege Waffle. Orange Bird Liege Waffle The Liege Waffle is a staple at this location, but for the Flower and Garden Festival, it gets an Orange Bird makeover! The Orange Bird Liege Waffle is back from last year’s festival. Last year, we thought it deserved points for style because it is CUTE, but in terms of flavor — it’s…well…kinda just your regular Liege waffle. That’s not necessarily a “bad” thing because the liege waffle is one of our favorite breakfast-y treats in EPCOT, thanks to that yummy brioche dough. Orange Bird Liege Waffle We actually enjoyed this little guy a bit more this year! The treat is pretty sweet but the waffle is incredibly light and fluffy — like eating a cloud! The icing was also sweet but not overwhelming and the sprinkles texture are fine, but neither help nor harm the treat overall. We would still recommend the Liege waffle with starwberries over this one, but it’s still pretty good. You can grab it for $4.19. And to go along with your dishes… Drinks In terms of drinks on this menu, we’ve got one new item to sip on! We’re trying the Blood Orange Hibiscus Margarita. Blood Orange Hibiscus Margarita This cocktail is made with Teremana Tequila with hibiscus, blood orange syrup, and orange juice. Blood Orange Hibiscus Margarita The margarita is a mix of interesting flavors (in a good way) and hides the alcohol well enough to make it more accessible to people who don’t want to be overwhelmed with the taste of alcohol in their drinks. It’s very light and refreshing, but does some have tartness due to the blood orange. It still has that taste of alcohol, but this could be one of the lighter drinks you find at the festival. You can grab this margarita for $15. OVERALL Connections Cafe & Eatery does just enough with its festival offerings this year to satisfy both the appetite and the palate. While nothing is standout, these Flower & Garden offerings are tasty and made even better by the fact that they are readily available via mobile order.
