  1. We have a new addition to this year’s bonus locations at the 2024 EPCOT Flower and Garden Festival! The Canada Popcorn Cart has joined the party! Canada Popcorn Cart This spot is serving up just ONE item this year for the Festival and it’s a boozy option, so let’s check it out! Menu Over at the Canada Popcorn Cart, you’ll find just one drink on the menu for the Festival. Canada Popcorn Cart Menu Of course, you can still get that famous maple popcorn here as well. Drinks We ordered the Peach Smash which is made with Canadian Club Whiskey with lemon, peach purée, and ginger. You can grab this bad boy for $11.50. Peach Smash Despite being called a Peach Smash, the first flavor we were hit with was actually ginger! We didn’t mind, but it’s not what we were expecting with this drink. The peach flavor was a bit more subtle and mostly settled at the bottom of the cocktail, so you might want to give it a good stir. The whiskey wasn’t overpowering, so if that’s a concern you might be okay with this one. It was light and crisp but not heavy like a beer might be. We really enjoyed this! OVERALL If you’re in the mood for a new drink at the Festival, then perhaps you should stop by this popcorn cart and check it out! We thought it was pretty refreshing and would be great for walking around EPCOT on a hot day! Click here to see FULL reviews of EVERY. SINGLE. BOOTH. at the Flower & Garden Festival! 2. It’s happening! The EPCOT’s 2024 Flower & Garden Festival has officially kicked off! 2024 Northern Bloom Outdoor Kitchen We’re talking about the Northern Bloom booth — one of the Outdoor Kitchens (also known as Food Booths) at the park’s springtime celebration! Stop here while enjoying the Festival’s famous Disney topiaries, garden displays, and entertainment. Join us as we review Northern Bloom to see if it lives up to its reputation as a deserving fan-favorite booth once again this year. Menu At Northern Bloom, many items are returning, but this year also brings us two new beers. We can’t wait to dig into the Beef Tenderloin Tips, Seared Scallops, and Chocolate Maple Whisky Cake (yes, we’re wiping some drool off as we write this). There’s also a good selection of beers here, including a Beer Flight. Northern Bloom Menu We can’t wait to dig in! Full Spread at Northern Bloom Eats First up, we grabbed the Beef Tenderloin Tips with mushroom bordelaise sauce, whipped potatoes, and garden vegetables. This is a returning item from last year, but to be honest, we weren’t big fans. One year, this dish was very hearty and savory in the past, and we really liked it! When it reappeared last year, we thought they were a hit yet again — though we do think the whipped potatoes could have been a bit saltier (that could have just been us, though!). So, is the third year the charm here? Beef Tenderloin Tips Turns out…it is! We really enjoyed the Beef Tenderloin Tips. They pull apart really easily, just like a pot roast would. This dish has a lot of flavor, and we also thought the meat had a nice, tangy flavor to it. The mashed potatoes had a lot of butter! We could even taste the buttery goodness underneath all of the sauce. Digging into the Beef Tenderloin Tips! You can grab this tasty dish for $7.25. Next up, we grabbed the other returning item at this booth, the Seared Scallops. These are served with French Green Beans, marble potatoes, and bacon vinaigrette! Yep, you read that right, BACON vinaigrette! Seared Scallop The seared scallops were great as well! They were really buttery and the bacon vinaigrette came through a lot. Unfortunately, we only got one scallop (though the picture showed two) so we were disappointed in that. This was probably just a first-day-of-the-festival mishap. Our lone scallop, but let’s give it a try! Grab the Seared Scallops for $7.75. And finally, we grabbed the other returning item at this booth, the Chocolate Maple Whisky Cake. This is a rich chocolate cake with maple and whisky sauce, and we are excited to see how it measures up this year! Chocolate Maple Whisky Cake LOVE! The Chocolate Maple Whisky Cake was wonderful! Definitely a best of the fest! It is gooey, decadent, and chocolatey. The cake is moist and easy to cut into. It is all the best parts of dessert, and we love it! This cake is also a great option for kids, and we think they will love it too! That ooey gooey goodness! Grab the Chocolate Maple Whisky Cake for $4.50. And to go along with your dishes… Drinks In terms of drinks on this menu, we got the Beer Flight. Why just try one beer when you can try three? The Collective Arts Brewing Beyond Reason Micro Pale Ale and the Collective Arts Brewing Grapefruit Lime Sour are new beer options this year. And returning for a repeat appearance this year is the Glutenberg Blonde Ale. Northern Bloom Beer Flight You can grab this flight for $10.25. Collective Arts Brewing Grapefruit Lime Sour The Collective Arts Brewing Grapefruit Lime Sour was tasty! We would describe it more as a hard cider, but we did enjoy this one! Glutenberg Blonde Ale The Glutenberg Blonde Ale was not one of our favorites, mostly because there wasn’t anything too special about it. It just tasted like a blonde beer, so we weren’t super impressed with it. Collective Arts Brewing Beyond Reason Micro Pale Ale Next up is the Collective Arts Brewing Beyond Reason Micro Pale Ale — this ale has a little bit of flavor to it but overall, it fell flat for us as well. And finally, the fruity wine, the Florida Orange Groves Sparkling Blackberry Wine. This wine could be a bright and crisp delight, or could be a fruit-flavored cough syrup in disguise. So, which side of the spectrum does this wine lean toward? Florida Orange Groves Sparkling Blackberry Wine The Florida Orange Groves Sparkling Blackberry Wine is a nice, sweet blackberry wine. The wine itself is not super heavy on the alcohol and it is very palatable. We think this would be a great wine for walking around the World Showcase and sipping on! You can grab it for $12.00. Overall Overall, we thought this booth had some really great dishes. The Chocolate Maple Whisky Cake is a must-get and one of the best dishes of the festival! We also recommend the Beef Tenderloin Tips and Seared Scallops, although we were disappointed that we only received one scallop. We did not feel like the beer flight was anything special, but if you are a fan of the types of beers in the flight, you would really like this! 3. Swirled Showcase is new to the Festival game. She made her debut at the Food and Wine Festival, and brought her A-game to the Festival of the Holidays, and charmed up during Festival of the Arts… but can she hold her own in EPCOT’s prettiest festival? Swirled Showcase Join us as we review Swirled Showcase to see if it lives up to its reputation as a deserving booth to visit during this Fest to compete for your time, attention, money, and stomach real estate! Menu At Swirled Showcase, practically everything is new because the booth is new to this Festival! 2024 Swirled Showcase Menu This booth is full of new items, and we can’t wait to try everything! Are you ready to dig in? Our reporter went back FOUR TIMES to grab all of these new items so that we could try them all without them melting. Let’s hope they’re worth the extra steps! Eats First up, we’re grabbing what might be the headliner of this booth, the Liquid Nitro Honey-Mascarpone Cheesecake. This Fro-Zone style chilled cheesecake comes with fresh honey, granulated honey, honey mead blueberry compote Presented by National Honey Board. You can get it for $5.25. Liquid Nitro Honey-Mascarpone Cheesecake The first thing we noticed about this dish was the fact that it had a really interesting crystalized thing going on up top. Like, a crystalized sugar coating! Underneath that, there was the cheesecake, and then at the bottom, you have a thicker bit of cheesecake that also sort of feels crystalized. We LOVE this dish because of all of those flavors and textures. Next up, a comfort food classic, the Ice Cream Float for $6.75. This is perfect for a hot day or if you just wanna reminisce about the days of Sock Hops, Sadie Hawkins Dances, and saddle shoes. The Ice Cream Float is Vanilla Soft-serve and Barq’s Red Creme Soda. Ice Cream Float: Vanilla Soft-serve and Barq’s Red Creme Soda Trying this float was a surreal experience. It was everything you could want in an ice cream float. The vanilla and cream soda combination elevated the float to become the epitome of frozen deliciousness. Plus, you can sip it OR eat it with a spoon. It’s PHENOMENAL. Oh my goodness. Best of the fest. Looking for something fruity and refreshing and delightfully dairy-free? Then try the Strawberry Basil Sorbet for $12.50. Strawberry Basil Sorbet This tastes like someone melted down a popsicle at one of the outdoor vending carts and served it as an ice cream. It’s delicious, refreshing, and a winner if you love strawberry. We think that lots of folks could enjoy this one. Okay. For our next two items, we’re calling all the PB&J lovers out there! Swirled Showcase specializes in soft-serve ice cream, and at this festival, there are THREE to choose from: Vanilla, Peanut Butter, and Grape Jelly. Grab your favorite, or be daring and get two of them swirled! Since we pretty much think peanut butter goes with anything, we love the idea of a PB&J swirl, and would never turn down a PB&Vanilla swirl! You can grab them each for $6.50. We tried the Peanut Butter one, and all we have to say is that if you’re a peanut butter fan, you NEED to get this. It’s like licking cold peanut butter from a spoon. It’s so creamy, and delicious, and peanut buttery. We totally wanna try this swirled with the grape jelly one! Peanut Butter Soft-serve And we also tried the Grape Jelly one! It’s DELICIOUS. It was packed with flavor and had a bit of a tartness to it. We absolutely loved it. Grape Jelly Soft-serve And to go along with your dishes… Drinks You thought we were done, didn’t you? Oh, no! We still need to try all of these tasty libations! We’re starting out with the Vanilla Soft-serve with Cantaloupe Liqueur. It’s a float and a cocktail and you can grab it for just $12.50. Vanilla Soft-serve with Cantaloupe Liqueur This tastes a LOT like the ice cream martini in the France Pavilion. It’s cantaloupe liqueur and vanilla ice cream. It’s actually quite yummy. The flavors work well together, but we felt that it was a bit lazy. It’s just liquor and ice cream. Disney could have definitely taken this one up a notch, but it was refreshing overall. If floats aren’t your thing, you can also get the Boulevard Brewing Co. Quirk Strawberry Banana Whip Hard Seltzer for $12. This is a carry-over from Festival of the Arts, so we didn’t grab it this go around. However, we did have the Strawberry Basil Sorbet with Hard Seltzer. Strawberry Basil Sorbet with Hard Seltzer If you’re looking for a dairy-free float option with a little maturity to it, this might just be for you! You can grab this treat for $12. It’s fine. It’s the seltzer version of the melted down fruit bar we mentioned earlier. Nothing to write home about, but still a solid option if you love strawberry! OVERALL All in all, this is a GREAT option if you love ice cream and all things SWEET. Everything we had here was super refreshing, super light, and we’d recommend that you try everything here. We really hope this booth sticks around, as the ice cream options are perfect for those super warm days in late spring! 5. We’ve waited all year for the EPCOT’s 2024 Flower & Garden Festival for one reason, and one reason only….. 2024 Lotus House Outdoor Kitchen The Cheesy Crab Wontons at the Lotus House outdoor kitchen. Stop here at the China pavilion while enjoying the Festival’s famous Disney topiaries, garden displays, and entertainment. Join us as we review Lotus House to see if it lives up to its reputation as a deserving fan-favorite booth once again this year! While we enjoyed the items at this booth, we were mildly disappointed in two of them (even though they were tasty). The Cheesy Crab Wontons here seemed to be lacking in the crab, which was a bit disappointing. We also noted that the Pan-friend Vegetable Dumplings were quite small for the price, which is $2.50 per dumpling (total of $5.50). But let’s dive into the menu and our full review! Menu Lotus House is full of returning items, and we’re gonna eat them all to see if they live up to the deliciousness of our memory and F&G Fests of years past. Menu This booth is full of new items, and we can’t wait to dig in! Full Spread Eats We’ll start our “eats” portion with the returning Spicy Mala Chicken Skewer with creamy peanut sauce. This one has ALWAYS been a hit with us in the past. Last year, it was super peanutty, and the sauce was a little bold and overpowering. However, the chicken was nice and tender, and the sesame seeds added a really good texture mix. We liked the freshness of the green onions, but that sauce is really bold and a little spicy so maybe avoid this if you aren’t particularly interested in those flavors. So what do we think about it this year? Spicy Mala Chicken Skewer Well, this year, we didn’t think it was overly spicy. It had a mild spice, but it was certainly bearable. The sauce was tasty! It was nice and creamy, and it wasn’t super peanut buttery so that was a plus. We don’t consider this a must-try option, but it was good and we know lots of people love it. You can grab this tasty dish for$6.75. Spicy Mala Chicken Skewer Next up, we ordered another returning item, the House-made Cheesy Crab Wontons for $8.25. This is another item we can always count on being delicious — it’s wontons with CHEESE. Cheesy Crab Wontons The cheesy in the name should clue you in on how we feel about it! Of course, we loved these! The creamy, cheesy, and crispiness of these wontons made them the best item we grabbed at this booth. They were delicious. We did wish there was a bit more crab meat in them, so we may not recommend grabbing them if you’re looking for more crab than cheese. House-made Cheesy Crab Wontons Finally, the Pan-fried Vegetable Dumplings are also returning from last year! Pan-fried vegetable dumplings You can get these for $5.50. Last year, we thought the portion size was a bit small, and we agree with that again this year. We also thought they had a great savory flavor. They were light and refreshing for a dumpling. However, at $2.25 per dumpling, we think it’s just a bit too pricey. Pan-fried Vegetable Dumplings And to go along with your dishes… Drinks In terms of drinks on this menu, we got the Mango Bubble Tea. This is a returning item, but we love a nice classic bubble tea — it’s especially refreshing when you’re running around EPCOT all day. Last year we thought this was pretty good. It was super rich and creamy and the boba was chewy and unique. (They’re not the popping kind — they’re just thick, gummy, and chewy.) The boba doesn’t add a lot of flavor but gives an interesting texture. Mango Bubble Tea This year it was not a milk tea, so there wasn’t a creamy aspect to it. But we still really enjoyed it! It was light and refreshing. We found it to be very sweet, and the tapioca boba was a subtle touch without being overly chewy. You can grab this drink for $7.75. The beverage train continues with a new drink! We’re sippin’ on the Dragon Dynasty, which, let’s face it, just sounds cool. This power-named cocktail is made with Baijiu spirit, light rum, dragon fruit syrup, piña colada mix, and soda water and is priced at $14.50. Dragon Dynasty The Dragon Dynasty let us down. It was good, but the other drinks overshadowed it and were more memorable. It has a sweet flavor and doesn’t take like alcohol, which might be good if you’re looking for an adult beverage but you don’t want the strong alcohol flavor. It’s a good drink, just nothing too special like the other options here. Dragon Dynasty And finally, our last item from this outdoor kitchen that has a permanent spot in our hearts — the Lucky Peach. Say it with us now, “Awwww….” Doesn’t it just sound precious? If cocktails had eyeballs, this one would have those big, puppy-dog, Anime eyes that make your soul weep. It is made with Peach whiskey, oolong tea, honey, lemon juice, and soda water and is priced at $14.25. Lucky Peach We surprisingly LOVED this drink. We didn’t think we would care for the whiskey in it, but we enjoyed every sip. It is super sweet and fruity. It didn’t have a strong whiskey flavor, so that helped us like it. It was a great drink! Lucky Peach Another returning beverage that you can get at this booth is the Tropical Moon for $14.00. This cocktail is made with Smirnoff Vodka, Triple Sec, passion fruit, soda water, and white boba pearls. We didn’t try this drink this year. OVERALL The Lotus House booth is good, but it’s not a stand-out, best-of-the-fest booth for us. You’ll likely enjoy your options, but we think there are better picks. You can see our full reviews of each booth at the link below to find out which we would recommend instead! Click here to see FULL reviews of EVERY BOOTH at the 2024 EPCOT Flower & Garden Festival! 6. Could some immediate change be coming to Disneyland? Sleeping Beauty Castle in Disneyland It’s no secret that the Disneyland Resort has been planning an expansion for a few years now with the DisneylandForward project proposal. Ever since the January 2024 Anaheim City Council meeting where Disney went more in-depth on the expansion’s potential plans, budget, and community offerings, we’ve gotten even more clarity on what DisneylandForward is all about. Recently, more information has come to light with news of Disney looking to purchase some more local land. According to The Orange County Register, Disneyland officials are looking to buy three (3) local streets, including the popular Magic Way. Magic Way Pedestrian Bridge Disneyland officials have stated that the 1,150-foot road on the west side of the Disneyland Resort is mostly used by resort guests and that 99% of vehicle trips on the street are Disney-related. Per The Orange County Register, Disney acquired data after community feedback during the January council meeting that concluded “less than 100 non-Disney users” use the street to bypass traffic during peak hours per day. DisneylandForward concept art ©Disney Disney is looking to buy Magic Way in addition to Clementine Street and Hotel Way from the city of Anaheim. DisneylandForward’s $40 million budget to buy city streets is one small piece of the minimum $1.9 billion investment Disney has committed to the Disneyland Resort and the city in exchange for theme park resort expansion flexibility. These street purchases would, according to Disney representatives, result in better pedestrian and bicycle crossing options. DisneylandForward Expansion Map 1©Disney A vote on the DisneylandForward proposal could be coming quickly. The Orange County Register noted that the Planning Commission is expected to vote on the proposal during its next meeting on March 11th, 2024. Menu If there’s one thing to know about the Jardin de Fiestas Outdoor Kitchen, it’s that it rarely relies on the tried-and-true. Instead, this food booth featuring Mexican fare loves to switch things up with NEW items, which is exactly what you’ll find on the menu this year. The three food items — the Sope de Chilorio, the Tamale de Rajas, and the Flan de Guayaba — are ALL NEW! Jardin de Fiestas Menu We’ve also got two new drinks to check out, even though they’re still in keeping with a classic cocktail. This year’s takes on the typical margarita include the Lychee Margarita the Floral Margarita. You may opt for a Craft Mexican Draft Beer, as well. Clearly, there’s plenty of new stuff to check out here, so let’s waste no time… Eats The Sope de Chilorio presents Guajillo pepper-braised pork on fried corn shells. The dish, which costs $8.50, is complete with black beans, shredded cabbage, crema Mexicana, queso fresco, and chives. This may be a new Best of the Fest item for us! It was bean-forward, so if you’re not a fan of beans keep that in mind. It was nicely spiced without being spicy and the cabbage provided a nice crunch. The sope was lightly fried and crunchy while still being soft, and the braised pork had a rich, complex flavor from the peppers but wasn’t spicy. It was pretty tender, too! Sope de Chilorio The Tamale de Rajas features poblano peppers, corn, and cheese together in masa. Poblano cream sauce, crema Mexicana, pickled carrots, and onions with chives are the finishing touches. It’s $8.75. We enjoyed the tamale, though not as much as the sope. The poblano peppers provided a fresh taste with no spice, and the poblano crema tied the whole dish together. The pickled onions and carrots helped cut through the richness of the masa dough, but ultimately we still preferred the sope. Tamale de Rajas For dessert, you can pick up the Flan de Guayaba for $6.50. This year, Jardin de Fiestas presents a Vanilla flan finished with guava coulis, whipped cream, and fresh fruit. Flan de Guayaba This was a fun take on your typical flan. Flan is a controversial texture for some people, so if you’re not into custard or jelly-like consistencies, this is probably a skip for you. The flan itself was sweet and had a nice vanilla flavor, but the guayaba (guava) coulis helped elevate it a bit. Drinks Say “CHEERS!” The new Lychee Margarita is here! This cocktail is crafted with Centinela Blanco Tequila, lychee liqueur, citrus juice, and agave nectar, and you can grab it for $14.50. This was light and sweet, but ours melted pretty quickly on a hot day like today. Ours wasn’t too heavy on the tequila flavor, so this might be a good option if you want a lighter cocktail. Lychee Margarita So, what exactly makes up the new Floral Margarita ($14)? The unexpected combo here is Cherry liqueur, mezcal, hibiscus tea, and lime juice. We loved the smokiness of this drink thanks to the mezcal, and the combination of the cherry liqueur with the hibiscus tea makes this a complex, well-rounded cocktail. Floral Margarita Don’t forget that you can also try a Craft Mexican Draft Beer for $6/6oz or $10/12oz. OVERALL So, is this booth worth a stop? We think so! That sope de chilorio is definitely a Best of the Fest contender for us, and we enjoyed the tamale and flan as well. The cocktails were good, though we don’t consider either to be our favorites, so we wouldn’t go out of our way for just these. 10. A little birdie told me that there’s something new at The Citrus Blossom this year… The Citrus Blossom Okay, make that a LITTLE ORANGE BIRD. You see, this beloved bird from the Sunshine Tree Terrace in Magic Kingdom has made a home for himself at the EPCOT Flower and Garden Festival, too, and it’s here at The Citrus Blossom (one of the event’s Outdoor Kitchen Food Booths) where we’ll find our little pal… as well as all sorts of citrus-y snacks and sips. We’re bringing you our reviews of EVERY SINGLE BOOTH at this year’s Festival (along with checking out all the Festival’s entertainment, Disney topiaries, Garden Graze food crawl, and more), so please join us at The Citrus Blossom as we check things out! Menu There’s a mix of returning and NEW items at The Citrus Blossom! When it comes to food, both the Orange Sesame Tempura Shrimp and the Lemon Meringue Pie are back this year. The Citrus Blossom Menu Sips are where it’s at for the new items! In addition to the new Key Lime Wine Slush, you’ll find three new beers on the menu: an Orange Twist Imperial Ale, a Lemon Drop Shandy, and the Tangerine Express Hazy IPA. You can also grab all three with the Beer Flight. Let’s dig in… Eats The Orange Sesame Tempura Shrimp is glazed with an orange-chile sauce. It costs $7.00. Orange Sesame Tempura Shrimp This item made our Best of the Fest last year, so we were especially excited to try it again! Well, once again, this is absolutely our favorite food item here. It’s perfectly fried without being greasy. It has such a great crunch that we just can’t get enough of. Although it’s a bit pricy at $7, you ARE getting 5 decent-sized pieces, so we think it’s totally worth it. Orange Sesame Tempura Shrimp The orange chili sauce is what takes this dish from great to GREATEST EVERRRR. It’s not at all spicy. It’s just a sweet chili sauce with a nice orange tang that pairs PERFECTLY with the shrimp. We simply do not have words for how good this sauce is. This is a best of the fest item for us. Orange Sesame Tempura Shrimp Sauce Prefer something sweet with your citrus? The Lemon Meringue Pie might be more up your alley. Lemon Meringue Pie Lemon curd, lemon mousse, and toasted meringue comes together for this dessert dish, which is $4.75. TBH, it didn’t knock our socks off last year. This year, we thought that it was absolutely beautiful, and the mousse was delicious, but the pastry at the bottom was disappointing. It’s too hard — so hard we couldn’t cut it. If you really like lemon meringue, this could be a great option for you but we just think there are better options elsewhere. Lemon Meringue Pie So, there you go for the eats! But, honestly, it’s one of the drinks that we’re especially excited to try this year… Drinks NEW to The Citrus Blossom is the Key Lime Wine Slush! This drink, coming in at $12.00, has replaced the Orange Sunshine Wine Slushy from previous years. Key Lime Wine Slush “Key Lime,” you say? And “Wine” along with that? Yep, we’re in. We really loved this at first. It was like drinking key lime pie in liquid form and we were in love. However, the more we drank it, the more we found that it was overly sweet and acidic. We couldn’t finish it. If you LIKE super sweet drinks, though, this could be a great option for you. Key Lime Wine Slush As promised, the Orange-Lemon Smoothie has returned, as has the souvenir Orange Bird sipper cup that comes along with it! Together, they cost $15.00. This drink is ALWAYS a winner for us. It tastes like drinking an orange creamsicle and it’s just so refreshing and perfect for anyone who likes orange flavors. Orange-Lemon Smoothie in 2023 This drink is non-alcoholic… but it’s not just a great sip for the kiddos! BTW, a bit of background… the Orange Bird Sipper created QUITE A STIR when he made his Flower & Garden Festival debut — in sipper form –at the 2019 event. He’s received a few makeovers over the years, but no matter what form the sipper takes, it is ALWAYS a hit! (Basically, the Little Orange Bird Sipper was the biggest souvenir deal of ALL EPCOT FESTIVALS EVER… before the Figment Popcorn Bucket hit the scene, that is. ) Orange Bird Sipper in 2023 Anyhoo… let’s get back to it — it’s BEER TIME! Options this year are Southern Tier Brewing Company’s Orange Twist Imperial Ale, Left Hand Brewing’s Lemon Drop Shandy, and Stone Brewing’s Tangerine Express Hazy IPA. All three are priced at $5.75 for 6 ounces, or $9.75 for 12 ounces. Beer Flight Options All three brews are new to the Festival, and you can try all three with the Beer Flight for $10.25, if you like. Beer Flight First up, let’s try the Lemon Drop Shandy! This one is super lemony and acidic. Like, Alka-Seltzer acidic. Not our fave. Anyway… Left Hand Brewing Lemon Drop Shandy Next, it’s time for the Orange Twist Imperial Ale. We found this to be very similar to a Blue Moon with a bit more of an orange flavor. Orange Twist Imperial Ale Last but not least, we have the Tangerine Express. This was our favorite! It’s a classic IPA with citrus notes. If you like beers and ciders, you’ll like this one. Tangerine Express OVERALL Overall, we think this is an awesome booth. It has a lot of solid options, like the tempura shrimp, IPAs, and orange slush, and we have a feeling we’ll return over and over again this year for a taste of the booth. If you love all things citrus, you TOTALLY need to stop here. The Citrus Blossom Full Spread Oh, my friends… we’re not done yet! 12. If you know what we mean when we say FRUSHI, then you’re already a fan of this booth at the 2024 EPCOT Flower and Garden Festival! 2024 Hanami Booth We’re of course talking about Hanami, a classic and fan-favorite booth at the Festival. It’s time to find out if this year’s menu is worth a stop on your springtime culinary trip around EPCOT! Let’s go! Menu Over at Hanami, you’ll find several new items this year and the popular Frushi, in addition to four new drinks! You’ll find a savory Steam Bun and a Ramen Cup. 2024 Hanami Menu You can sip on four new drinks this year including, a Watermelon-Strawberry Lemonade, a Cherry Blossom Green Tea Pilsner, Sake with Strawberry and Watermelon, and Pineapple Nigori Sake. Now that we’ve taken a look at the menu, let’s dive into the food itself! Eats First up, we grabbed the Steam Bun that’s new this year. It’s filled with filled with vegetables and plant-based soy meat and is priced at $8.50. Steam Bun filled with vegetables and plant-based soy meat The Steam Bun is really interesting, but we have to note that although it is filled with veggies and plant-based soy meat, the plant-based icon doesn’t appear next to its listing in the Festival Passport, so this dish may not be 100% plant-based. However, it is SO nice. We would have not known the meat was soy at ALL. The bun itself was like biting into a cloud. Cross section Next up is the other new item for this year, the Ramen Cup for $8.50 — Ramen salad shaken in a cup with fresh vegetables, grilled chicken, and dashi broth with chili oil and yuzu. This is not the ramen you ate in college! In fact, we are IN LOVE with this ramen. Ramen Cup It’s served cold, but that is EXACTLY how it should be served. The vegetables are light and bright. We thought the grilled chicken was just fun, but you don’t get a lot of it. The Dashi broth is savory and very robust. We didn’t get a lot of the chili oil and yuzu flavors, but this is EXACTLY what we needed to eat on a hot Florida day. Ramen cup And, for dessert, there’s the Frushi for $7.75. This “fruit sushi” is made with Strawberry, Pineapple, and Cantaloupe wrapped in Sweet Rice and Pink Soy Wrap served with Whipped Cream, Drizzled Berry Sauce, and Toasted Coconut. This is a super popular festival item, but our reporter just didn’t think it was THAT interesting. Frushi Granted, this is a great way to introduce someone to sushi who might feel intimidated by fish-based sushi. We also found the rice a little hard on this. Frushi We’ll say this is still a fun festival staple, but honestly…*whispering* we would totally get that Ramen cup instead of the Frushi. It’s an unpopular opinion, but we had to share it! Drinks This year, Hanami is serving up FOUR new drinks! First, there’s the Watermelon-Strawberry Lemonade for $6.75. This drink was SO refreshing, and we would order it again. It’s nice to have a really good non-alcoholic drink option for people who don’t want the booze. It’s light, sweet, and fresh. Watermelon-Strawberry Lemonade And, this year Hanami has two sake choices on the menu — both new! The first is the Ichigo Breeze Cocktail for $7.75 which is made with Sake with Strawberry and Watermelon, and then there’s a straight-up sake choice, the Ozeki Pineapple Nigori Sake for $9.75. We got the Ichigo Breeze Cocktail, and it’s pretty much the same as the Strawberry Watermelon Lemonade, but with Sake added. We liked that the sake didn’t really add a big difference to the taste of the drink, so it’s pretty cool you can get both a boozy and non-boozy version of this drink here. Ichigo Breeze Cocktail For all the beer drinkers out there, you can check out the new Orange Blossom Brewing Co. Cherry Blossom Green Tea Pilsner. This is new for 2024 and the price is 6 oz for $5 and 12 oz. for $9.50. OVERALL So we’d have to say this booth is mostly a big hit for us, but we think the popular Frushi might be the LEAST interesting thing on the menu. We would certainly return here for the other two food items, as well as the drinks. We also really like that there’s a cocktail here that has its own non-alcoholic version for those people who don’t want the booze. Click here to see FULL reviews of EVERY. SINGLE. 13. Hello there from the EPCOT Flower & Garden Festival! We’re making our way around the World Showcase, checking out all there is to see, do, and EAT! Miguel and Dante from “Coco”! So, imagine our surprise when we made our way over to one booth, in particular, only to find that it was CLOSED! Luckily, we quickly found out what the deal was — here’s what you need to know. Well, we thought this booth would be ready to open today after the construction walls came down in EPCOT, but it looks like things aren’t quite ready over at the Florida Fresh booth! Florida Fresh Booth We made our way over here to check out the menu and try some of the items and were surprised to find a closed booth with a Cast Member stationed out front. They advised us that the booth wasn’t quite ready for visitors, but in the meantime, the Florida Fresh eats could be found inside the Odyssey building temporarily. Line for Florida Fresh at the Odyssey Here is a quick peek at the menu for the Flower & Garden Festival: Food Items: Grilled Warm Water Lobster Tail with Key lime butter (New) Cubanito with mojo-marinated pork belly, ham, Swiss cheese, pickles, and stone ground mustard sauce (New) Florida Strawberry Shortcake (Plant-based) (Garden Graze Food Stroll) Beverages: Cucumber-Watermelon Slushy (Non-alcoholic beverage) Cucumber-Watermelon Slushy with Gin The Flower & Garden Festival is HERE! 14. CAUTION: You may become extremely hungry if you keep reading! Refreshment Port It’s time for the 2024 EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival, and we’ve got a lot to see, do, and EAT! -From Outdoor Kitchens (also known as Food Booths) to the Festival’s famous Disney topiaries, garden displays, and entertainment — there’s never a dull moment. Join us as we review Refreshment Port to see if it lives up to its reputation as a deserving fan-favorite booth once again this year! Menu At Refreshment Port, we spy a new item that is a new approach to the rotating poutine variation! 2024 Refreshment Port Menu This booth is full of new items, and we can’t wait to dig in! Eats First up, we grabbed the new Plant-based Buffalo Chicken Tender Poutine. This is plant-based buffalo chicken bites served on top of crispy potato barrels (tater tots) with ranch and plant-based blue cheese crumbles. You can grab this tasty dish for $10 And don’t forget, this Plant-Based item is part of the Garden Graze food stroll, so be sure to get your passport stamped! Plant-based Buffalo Chicken Tender Poutine We LOVED this dish. We think it is one of the best plant-based dishes that the festival has to offer. The potato barrels were super crispy and helped with the texture of the dish. We also liked that it came with both ranch and blue cheese crumble. Both the ranch and the blue cheese balanced each other’s flavors. We will say that the buffalo sauce was not super spicy, but the ranch helped cool that buffalo flavor off. We would 100% get this again! And to go along with your dishes… Drinks In terms of drinks on this menu, we’ve got a returning cocktail and a new hard cider to whet our whistles! We’re starting out with the returning cocktail, the Frozen Mojito with Boyd & Blair Rum. Last year we thought this mojito was bright, crisp, and delicious! A great choice on hot days, but unfortunately melts very quickly. The citrusy taste is a bit tart as well. Frozen Mojito with Boyd & Blair Rum This year when we got the cocktail it was not as frozen as we had hoped it would be. We were pleasantly surprised with how strong the cocktail was since the beverages are normally pre-mixed. There was a kick of mint and a bit of a sour and tart taste. You can grab this cocktail for $13. If mojitos aren’t your thing, you can also get the Villa Maria Earth Garden Sauvignon Blanc for $6.50. Next up, we’re getting the new beverage, the Country Boy Brewing Orange Cream Hard Cider. Country Boy Brewing Orange Cream Hard Cider We think this drink is a good introductory drink for those who might just be starting to like cider or beer. This drink is on the sweeter side and reminded us of a citrus-cream soda with a tickle at the end since it is cider. You can grab this hard cider for $12. OVERALL Normally when we see the menu for Refreshment Port we are super excited to try the new items, but are often let down. This was NOT the case this time around. We highly recommend the Plant-based Buffalo Chicken Tender Poutine and think it is one of the best plant-based foods at the festival. Even if you are not a plant-based eater, you would like this dish and we would go back for it! Full spread Click here to see FULL reviews of EVERY BOOTH at the 2024 EPCOT Flower & Garden Festival! 15. WELCOME to a place we very much look forward to visiting each year at EPCOT’s Flower and Garden Festival! Farmers Feast (2023) We’re talking about EPCOT Farmers Feast— one of the Outdoor Kitchens (also known as Food Booths) at the park’s springtime celebration! Make sure you stop here while you enjoy the Festival’s famous Disney topiaries, garden displays, and entertainment. Join us as we review Farmers Feast to see if it lives up to its reputation as a deserving fan-favorite booth once again this year! Menu So, here’s the thing with EPCOT Farmers Feast…this menu isn’t particularly big, but we have some high expectations here! Farmer’s Feast This is a special booth that has time-released menu items! Yep, depending on when you visit, you can experience a whole new set of bites and nibbles! Since we’re here for the first day of the festival, we’ll be able to try the options from the Early Bloom Menu! ©Disney Eats The first menu is called the Early Bloom Menu, and it will be available from February 28th through March 30th and we’re digging in! Look at all this FOOD! Aaah, the Veal Tenderloin! These are served with spring pea risotto featuring BEN’S ORIGINAL INTERNATIONAL GRAINS Arborio Rice and red wine syrup. This is a new addition at this year’s Festival. Veal Tenderloin You can grab this dish for $8.50. In terms of texture, be prepared: in our dish, the meat was thick and chewy. Honestly, it left a lot to be desired. We had high hopes for the spring pea risotto — in fact, we typically enjoy most risotto dishes — but this one was NOT it. The flavor was overly herby, to the point that we found it hard to eat. If you don’t mind a bold, herby pea flavor, you might not mind this one, but if you ask us, there are better dishes at this year’s festival. Veal Tenderloin It almost wouldn’t be the Flower & Garden Festival without the Strawberry Rhubarb Upside-Down Cake! This has consistently been a “best of the fest” contender — and for good reason! Strawberry Rhubarb Upside-down Cake The Strawberry Rhubarb Upside Down Cake is served with crème fraîche whipped cream for $4.75 and has been one of our favorites for several festivals, now. In the past, we thought the strawberry and rhubarb topping tasted very fresh and not too sweet, but just sweet enough to balance out the little bit of tartness you get with each bite of fruit. We’ve loved how the sweetness of the cake and cream balance the refreshing tartness of the rhubarb, and all of the textures blend and compliment each other with a pleasant combination of soft, moist, and a slight crunch. This year, Disney did it again! We keep coming back to this dessert, and it keeps making us smile. Give it a try! Strawberry Rhubarb Upside-down Cake All festival long, you can enjoy Grilled Street Corn on the Cob for $5.75. Don’t be fooled — unlike some of the street corn we’ve had at previous festivals, this one is NOT spicy! Grilled Street Corn on the Cob In fact, the Grilled Street Corn on the Cob was generously coated with a savory garlic spread and plant-based cheese. We were pleasantly surprised by this one. It’s got plenty of that cheese and garlic spread to give you a flavorful bite. This was a serious win! Yum! This dish is also eligible for a stamp if you’re attempting to complete the Garden Graze food crawl. And to go along with your dishes… Drinks Raise a glass of Hibiscus Lemonade Cocktail for $12. This cocktail features Islamorada Brewery & Stillery Hibiscus Gin. We had this drink at the festival back in 2021 and again in 2023, and we thought it was the epitome of the Flower & Garden Festival. It was light and refreshing with a strong floral flavor. This year, it tasted just as we remembered! It tasted like sweet, tart lemonade mixed with violet sake. It was delightful! Hibiscus Lemonade Cocktail And new this year is the Frozen Lemon Tea Cocktail for $12. Frozen Lemon Tea Cocktail This cocktail is made with Bärenjäger Honey & Bourbon. It reminded us of a bourbon slushy in the BEST way! We tasted the subtle hints of the lemon tea, too, making this a nice, well-rounded drink. If you like bourbon, give this one a try! OVERALL This booth has some serious WINS and one item worth skipping. If you visit this booth, we recommend the Street Corn, Upside Down Cake, and both cocktails. In terms of the Veal Tenderloin, we think this one missed the mark. But hey, that’s the beauty of this booth — the menu will continue to evolve throughout the festival! Yep, the best news is that even if none of these bites appeal to you, you can come back in a few weeks and try the next items on this rotating dining menu! 16. It’s an especially beautiful time to be at EPCOT! 2024 Trowel & Trellis Outdoor Kitchen Why? Because the 2024 EPCOT Flower and Garden Festival is in FULL SWING, and we’re bringing you our reviews of EVERY SINGLE BOOTH at this year’s Festival, along with checking out all the Festival’s entertainment, Disney topiaries — (YOU GOTTA SEE GROOT!), Garden Graze food crawl, and more), so you don’t miss a thing! We’re heading to the Trowel & Trellis Outdoor Kitchen to see if it’s worth a stop on YOUR trip around the Festival this year… Menu For eats, the IMPOSSIBLE Farmhouse Meatball is back this year at Trowel & Trellis this year, as are the Soy-glazed Sticky Ribs. New (ish… we’ll explain…) to the booth is the Chocolate Mousse Terrarium! 2024 Trowel & Trellis Menu That said, ALL of the drinks are new to Trowel & Trellis: these include the Raspberry and Lemon Herbal Tea (which can be purchased with or without gin), Surreal Brewing Co. Natural Bridges Kolsch Style Non-Alcoholic Beer, and Brew Hub Strawberry Heatwave Berliner. Full Spread Here we go… Eats The plant-based IMPOSSIBLE Farmhouse Meatball is plated with lentil bread, spinach, marinated vegetables, and creamy herb aïoli. IMPOSSIBLE Farmhouse Meatball It’s one of the eligible items for those participating in the Garden Graze this year, and it costs $6.00. It was VERY good! You can tell it’s impossible meat as it’s very spiced, but not in a bad way. You can taste the vegetables that are on it, and they add some crunch. IMPOSSIBLE Farmhouse Meatball The aioli on top was a nice, earthy addition to the meat. We also really enjoyed the lentil bread which tied everything together nicely, and it was very soft. Overall, we think that it has best of the fest potential for plant-based meals. The Soy-glazed Sticky Ribs with green onions and peanuts are returning for $7.00; however, you may not be familiar with it as part of the Flower and Garden Festival. Soy Glazed Sticky Ribs You see, this dish made its original appearance a few years ago at the EPCOT Food & Wine Festival! And WOW, did it ever impress. So, what about NOW? It was PHENOMENAL. We genuinely loved these ribs. They were very savory. You can taste the soy a bit, and ours came with some jalapeños and peppers that weren’t listed on the menu. Soy-glazed Sticky Ribs Overall, we loved these as they were very sticky and sweet. Another best of the fest in our opinions. So, earlier we mentioned that the Chocolate Mousse Terrarium, which is made with matcha crumble and chocolate “soil,” is new-ISH, and you can pick it up for $5.50. Here’s the thing… Chocolate Mousse Terrarium This appears to be an updated version of what was previously the Chocolate Pudding Terrarium, and TBH, it has typically looked prettier than it tasted. So we’re definitely curious as to how this year’s mousse-based version comes across… Chocolate Mousse Terrarium We thought this year’s version was actually very cute! The little flower on top was adorable. The matcha crumble on top was very light. It did have a matcha flavor, but it was quite subtle. The chocolate filling was creamy, smooth, and rich. It was sweet but not too sweet. One word of warning, though, it will melt in the sun and get runny. Chocolate Mousse Terrarium It’s definitely another best of the fest for us! Let’s get to sippin’! Drinks The new Raspberry and Lemon Herbal Tea features Twinings Raspberry & Lemon Herbal Tea and Simply Limeade. It can be ordered as a non-alcoholic beverage for $4.50, though of-age guests may opt to try it with Conniption Kinship Gin for $12.00. We will likely try this drink in the future after the first day, so check back to see if we did. The new Surreal Brewing Co. Natural Bridges Kolsch Style is a non-alcoholic beer option at the Festival! Surreal Brewing Co. Natural Bridges You can try it for $5.75 for a 6-ounce pour, or $9.75 for 12 ounces. Honestly, we did not enjoy this NA beer at all. We found it to be VERY bitter. NA beer It had some light citrus undertones (maybe), but the boldest flavors we got from it were sour and bitter. They do make you show your ID when you purchase this even though it’s non-alcoholic, because it does contain a very small percentage of alcohol. Finally, the Brew Hub Strawberry Heatwave Berliner is new this year. We opted to not try it, but it certainly looked delicious! This one is also $5.75 for a 6-ounce pour or $9.75 for 12 ounces. OVERALL Don’t discredit this booth because of the NA beer! All of the food here was AMAZING and will all make our best of the fest list. If you want some tasty snacks, you should definitely stop by Trowel & Trellis. Full Spread at Trowel & Trellis There’s still SO MUCH MORE to check out at the EPCOT Flower and Garden Festival, so on we go! 17. Even though Moana is relatively new as far as the Disney Princesses are concerned, she is absolutely among the most popular. Journey of Water — Inspired by Moana Fans of the movie and character were STOKED in 2023 when Journey of Water, Inspired by Moana opened in EPCOT and a live-action remake of the film was announced. At the Q1 earnings call for fiscal 2024, fans and shareholders alike were stunned by the announcement of Moana 2! Well, the announcement in itself wasn’t the shocking part. The SHOCKING part is the fact that the movie will debut in theaters THIS November. Yes, like, 10-months-from-now November. While we’re SUPER excited, we’re also a bit… concerned. Disney shared that the new movie stems from what was originally planned as a Disney+ series that was announced in 2020. So, while we’re assuming that the animation and artwork is already done for the film, and it has been confirmed that Dwayne Johnson is in talks to return for his role as Maui, those are basically the only details that Disney gave us as far as production goes. ©Disney Well, aside from a trailer that lasted about 17 seconds. On Instagram, Auli’i Cravalho did confirm that she would return to voice Moana. But like, that’s ALL that has been confirmed as casting goes. ©Disney So, isn’t it a bit concerning that Disney still hasn’t confirmed all casting?! Of course, if the animation is complete for the film it probably doesn’t take as long to record the voice acting to go along with said animation. But then again, we’re not animators or film producers. ©Disney Whew. We’re trusting in the magic of Disney with this one. We have our fingers crossed that the release date won’t get pushed back. We’ll be sure to keep you updated with more Disney news, so make sure to follow along so that you’re always in the loop and never miss a thing. Looking for more Disney movie news? Click here! 18. Brightline is going to get an EXPANSION in Florida! ©Brightline We’ve seen how successful the train company was when they added a station to the Orlando International Airport. Honestly, we feel like these trains can be a big game changer when it comes to travel. They’re even getting ready to take their services to the West Coast to help connect major cities over there. That hasn’t stopped them from making moves in Florida, though! It sounds like Brightline is planning to build ANOTHER station on Florida’s east coast — let’s talk about it! We’ve seen Brightline taking Florida by storm — chances are, if you are in the area you may have seen some of their high-speed trains passing through. Their goal is to make train travel modern and eco-friendly. They provide intercity routes throughout the state of Florida for distances that can be too far to drive, but too short to fly. They have been changing the game for day trips, and we think we know where our next day trip destination will be! ©Brightline According to TCPalm, in December 2023, the city of Stuart, Florida, applied to have a Brightline train station built in their city. They were among a few different applicants, and they received some good news this week. ©Brightline According to city officials in Stuart, Florida, they will be getting a NEW Brightline train station built in their downtown district. This is HUGE news, as it expands options for passengers when they’re deciding where they’d like to spend their day. According to the South Florida Sun Sentinel, they got word of this happening on Monday, February 26th; however, Brightline hasn’t made a statement of their own yet. Brightline Orlando Train Station Nonetheless, we are SO excited to have another stop on the Brightline route. Right now, the train connects Miami, Aventura, Fort Lauderdale, Boca Raton, West Palm Beach, and Orlando. With so many great destinations to choose from, this new addition will make our choices EVEN HARDER — but we can’t wait. ©Brightline We’re keeping an eye out for all updates on this project, so keep checking in with us at DFB for Brightline news and updates. 19. Nothing is ever truly “free” — right? Do you fly to Disney World? We get it — a Disney World vacation isn’t exactly as cheap as a picnic in the park. With a trip setting you back thousands of dollars, you’re likely looking to save anywhere you can. Fortunately, we’re here to help! From finding deals to delivering tips, we’ve got you covered. In fact, we have a few tips that could help you fly FOR FREE! The saying goes that nothing is ever truly free — and the saying is mostly right. With that said, below, we’ve listed out a few ways to fly to Disney World that really are absolutely free, or are pretty dang close. Let’s take a look! Gift Cards and Gift Miles ©Costco Want to fly absolutely free — no strings attached? To quote the Mandalorian, “This is the way.” Asking for airline gift cards and gift flier miles is the easiest way to achieve free flights. From personal experience, this is a great way to relieve one major piece of stress from a Disney World vacation. Companion Passes Just a few companions enjoying a nice picnic at Disney World Companion passes allow you to accompany a frequent flier on a flight itinerary for free (except for taxes and fees). Multiple airlines have programs like this, such as Southwest Airlines. Southwest’s Companion Pass, for example, gives unlimited companion flights whenever you purchase or redeem points for a flight. To qualify for this pass, a frequent flier has to fly 100 qualifying one-way flights or earn 135,000 qualifying points in a calendar year. A Companion Pass is then awarded for the following full calendar year, plus the remainder of the year in which they earned it. Southwest also allows Companion Pass Members to change their designated Companion up to three times each calendar year. This is a pretty good deal and if you haven’t made friends with a frequent flier yet, better get on it! Frequent Flier Points Soarin’ We’re now getting into the “you gotta spend money to earn money” territory. Frequent flier miles help you get the most out of your favorite airline. These credits are earned by flying airlines over and over again and will ultimately result in free airfare. Let’s say you fly the same airline to Disney World a few times are year or consistently over the span of a few years. Eventually, those trips will accumulate some usable miles that you can then apply to your next Disney World trip! Each airline has different policies and quirks regarding its rewards and frequent flier programs, so be sure to do your homework before signing up. Airline Credit Cards and Flexible Travel Credit ©Visa Airlines will often partner with credit card companies to offer loyalty programs. Your real-life purchases could turn into flight credits and, eventually, free flights. Often, airline credit cards will also offer signing bonuses that could jumpstart you on your way to a free flight fairly quickly. Many non-airline credit cards also offer travel credit cards that offer points you can use in their respective travel portals. These credits can be applied towards flights or lodging and are good to use for trips to Disney World or wherever your heart takes you! Each card has different parameters and annual fees, so be sure to read the fine print before committing to a new credit card. Dining Rewards Programs Be Our Guest Restaurant’s Grand Ballroom Did you know that you can be incentivized to dine out? Many airlines offer dining rewards programs, which reward you for eating at certain restaurants with flight miles per dollar spent. If you’re one to dine out frequently, you should look into your favorite airline’s dining rewards program to see which restaurants it covers and the details of the rewards! And there you have it! 20. When we first learned that Disney would be bringing Soarin’ Over California BACK to Disney World for a limited-time run to celebrate Disney’s 100th anniversary, we never guessed it would last this long. Soarin’ But, sadly, the time has come for us to once again say goodbye to Soarin’ Over California. Yes, it’s true — Soarin’ Around the World is back in EPCOT. As of February 28th, Soarin’ Over California is no longer in EPCOT — instead, the “normal” version of the ride, Soarin’ Around the World, is back. Soarin’ Around the World is back Disney announced that Soarin’ Over California would be around for the company’s 100th anniversary, but the update stuck around long after the festivities ended. We had been wondering if Disney would take the original version of the attraction away again, and now it seems it’s finally happened. Soarin’ Over California It’s interesting to note that Disney has updated this attraction on the first day of the EPCOT Flower & Garden Festival, though no word has been shared on whether or not the two have anything to do with each other. 21. Disney executives come and go within the company. ©The Walt Disney Company Some, as we know, are outstanding in their positions and it can be tough to see them go. While they depart the company to bigger and better endeavors, others come in to fill their shoes. That’s the case for a Disney president who is moving on and someone new comes to take their place in the live-action movie business. According to Deadline, Sean Bailey, Walt Disney’s President of Motion Picture Studios, is leaving the company after 15 years of great success. Sean Bailey has most recently turned Disney’s animation movie collection into a multibillion-dollar live-action movie success. Sean Bailey Getty Images via Deadline The person taking Bailey’s place, effective immediately, is David Greenbaum, who is currently serving as Searchlight co-president. Searchlight is the company responsible for the new movie Poor Things, which is in the running for Best Picture and other Oscar categories. When Greenbaum takes over for Bailey (after the Disney production of Tron: Ares), he will receive the title President, Disney Live Action, and 20th Century Studios. David Greenbaum Getty Images via Deadline Steve Asbell will stay on as President, 20th Century Studios, but he will report to Greenbaum, in his new position. Bailey joined Disney as the producer of Tron Legacy, and he will stay on for a bit to produce Tron: Ares, a cool full-circle career. During his time at Disney, Bailey also took on the role of producing live-action movies for Disney+ when the streaming platform began. He was part of Lady and the Tramp, Pinocchio, Hocus Pocus 2, and more. He is leaving to explore entrepreneurial endeavors. Lady and the Tramp statues in Magic Kingdom Greenbaum will be a new asset to the Disney live-action section as he brings a look at fresh and original ideas. Some of the top titles that he worked on are movies such as Black Swan, The Shape of Water, The Grand Budapest Hotel, and more. Both gentlemen are looking forward to their future endeavors in Disney and out for Bailey. TRON: Legacy ©Disney We’re looking forward to seeing what the future of Walt Disney movies has in store. 22. The Walt Disney Company is no stranger to criticism. Disney is in the middle of two major lawsuits with Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, all while facing opposition from activist investor Nelson Peltz and his ally, former Disney CFO Jay Rasulo. Disney’s annual shareholders meeting will take place on April 3rd, 2024, and ahead of the meeting, both Disney and Peltz have been campaigning for control of the Board of Directors. ©Getty Images On April 3rd, Disney shareholders will have the opportunity to vote for the new members of Disney’s Board of Directors. Nelson Peltz hopes to make significant changes to Disney’s current Board, but Disney has made it clear they do not endorse Peltz’s ideas. Disney has taken a hard stance against Peltz and his allies and even went so far as to publish an eight-point page debunking Peltz’s claims. Let’s see what Disney has to say. The Walt Disney Company created a “Fact vs Fiction” page on its website (filed under “Our Growth Strategy”). The page starts with a statement from Disney: “The truth matters. Shareholders rightfully expect directors to base their statements on facts. The activists and their nominees have not lived up to this expectation.” ©Disney From there, Disney goes on to highlight eight false claims and opposing statements to debunk each false claim. Point one discredits the idea that Nelson Peltz has the media expertise necessary to deserve a spot on Disney’s Board of Directors. Disney uses Peltz’s own quote on CNBC to prove Peltz does not have media experience. ©Disney Disney also discredits Jay Rasulo’s media experience, noting that “his perspective on the media industry is stale.” ©Disney Point three comes after Peltz’s shares. Disney states, “Shareholders should ask Trian, if it speaks for them, why it continues to sell down its stake, including selling over 500,000 shares between September 30, 2023, and December 31, 2023.” ©Disney Disney goes on to cite a Bloomberg headline to nullify Peltz’s claim that he has been caught in a
”Disney mousetrap.” According to Disney, Peltz was able to profit from Disney shares in 2023. ©Disney The campaign continues by highlighting three more false claims, including: Mr. Peltz claims the Boards on which he has sat have, on average, outperformed the S&P by 900bps annually. Trian claims Disney has refused to engage with Mr. Peltz. Trian claims Disney’s Board is closed to new ideas and refuses to heed input from shareholders. ©Disney Each point is followed by a statement to disprove Peltz’s narrative. At one point, Disney states, “[Peltz] and Trian’s other nominee Mr. Rasulo offer no additive relevant experience to our independent, highly qualified Board.” ©New York Times Nelson Peltz of Trian Partners Disney’s campaign ends with the allegedly false claim that “Disney+ is an emerging streaming business that has been poorly managed.” Here, Disney attempts to disprove this idea with a graph indicating that Disney+’s losses have decreased between 2023 and 2024. Note that the date of Disney’s next earnings call has yet to be announced. ©Disney Disney urges shareholders to vote at the upcoming shareholders meeting, stating, “Your vote matters.” Peltz and his allies have not directly responded to Disney’s campaign, but we will keep our eyes out for additional updates. 24. Because we’re in Disney World so often, there’s not a lot that gets past us. Especially when those things are a bit weird. Coffee-flavored soda So when we spotted a weird beverage at a popular Disney Springs restaurant that really got our gears turning, we just couldn’t satisfy our curiosity until we decided to take one for the team and try it out. On a recent trip out to Disney Springs, we happened upon something that really piqued our curiosity. While stopping by Vivoli Il Gelato, we thought we would be scanning their selection of frozen treats but found ourselves thoroughly invested in the very last thing we could have anticipated. Vivoli il Gelato After taking a closer look at the beverage options, we found a weird combination and knew we just HAD to put it to our test. Beverage options So, we purchased the canned drink and anticipated the worst to set in quickly. This Kimbo Sparkling Coffee drink cost us $5.50 and really is like a coffee-flavored soda. Kimbo Coffee Soda When we popped the tab on this can and took that initial gulp of flavor we were shocked. The initial flavor mimics the bitterness of coffee, and then you feel the carbonation set in. At first, it’s almost like something went wrong like when orange juice goes bad and feels carbonated, but then, you taste the sweetness and that makes up for it. Did it catch your attention too? Overall, we found it fairly refreshing. If you love drinking carbonated water and soda this would be another fun way to consume the carbonation you crave AND get some caffeine in too! And if you were wondering, it’s dairy-free and plant-based making it a great option for environmentally conscious folk. We’re always looking to try out new food and drinks that we spot around Disney World so be sure to stay tuned with us as we keep you current on all the strange and unusual offerings we encounter!
