  1. Though we love spending time in the Disney parks, we love Disney movies just as much. Hollywood Studios After all, that’s how this whole Disney thing got started, isn’t it? Whether you’re a fan of the classics, the new movies, or both, chances are you have a favorite that you just can’t get enough of. It’s rare to hear news about one of Disney’s most iconic, classic films, but we’ve got an update you might want to know about! According to BBC News, Mary Poppins, the classic Disney movie starring Julie Andrews and Van Dyke, has had its age rating raised by British film censors for containing “discriminatory language.” ©Disney A derogatory term originally used by white Europeans about nomadic people in southern Africa is used in the film to refer to soot-faced chimney sweeps. The BBFC said that it now “exceeds our guidelines” for a U-rating. The word is used twice by the Admiral Boom character. ©Disney A spokesperson for the British Board of Film Classification shared a statement and said, “Most recently, the film was resubmitted to us in February 2024 for another theatrical re-release, and we reclassified it PG for discriminatory language. Mary Poppins (1964) includes two uses of the discriminatory term ‘hottentots’. “While Mary Poppins has a historical context, the use of discriminatory language is not condemned, and ultimately exceeds our guidelines for acceptable language at U. We therefore classified the film PG for discriminatory language.” Mary Poppins in EPCOT So, Mary Poppins will now have a PG rating instead of the U it previously held in the United Kingdom. 2. Spike the Bee is BACK at the 2024 EPCOT Flower and Garden Festival and he’s brought back his Spike’s Pollen Nation Exploration Scavenger Hunt with him! And just WAIT until you see this year’s PRIZE! Can you SPOT SPIKE? The 2024 EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival is in full bloom, and this year it runs through May 27th. In addition to the food booths, character topiaries, and Garden Rocks concerts, you can also check out this annual scavenger hunt featuring the cutest bee EVER. Is this activity worth the cost? Come with us to find out! Spike’s Pollen Nation Exploration scavenger hunt takes place throughout EPCOT and lasts for the duration of the festival. The Disney honeybee character named Spike is pollinating his way through the festival, and guests can follow his trail. Look who’s buzzin’ around the Festival! You can buy a scavenger hunt map and stickers from World Traveler, Creations Shop, Port of Entry, Disney Traders, and even some of the festival booths! The map costs $9.99, but you can apply Annual Passholder and Disney Vacation Club discounts. You’ll search for Spike the Bee around EPCOT and place the stickers in the correct spot on the map. Spike’s Pollen Nation Exploration Map Once your map is complete, you can return it to Creations, World Traveler, Port of Entry, or Disney Traders and collect a prize! Back in 2023, the prize was an array of cups and plates featuring Orange Bird, Spike the Bee, Figment, or Snow White! This year’s prize is even BETTER in our opinion — you get to choose a miniature game of corn hole! There are four different designs to choose from: Spike the Bee, Coco, EPCOT logo, and Orange Bird. Seriously, this might be the most excited we’ve ever been for an EPCOT scavenger hunt prize. The PRIZES So, is this fun little scavenger hunt worth $10? Whether or not you complete the map, you can redeem it for a prize. This is a great activity to keep little ones busy, or it’s fun if you’re simply wanting to walk around the park and take in all the sights of the Flower and Garden Festival. No matter what, you’re guaranteed to get a prize while supplies last. We think this is definitely worth the time and money spent, because you can take it at your own pace. And that means it’s time to snack and sip at all of the Outdoor Kitchen Food Booths, check out all the lovely Disney topiaries, and catch a Garden Rocks concert or two! In addition to joining us here on the DFB throughout the Festival, there’s another great tool that can help you find your way around the event so you don’t miss ANY of the Festival fun… we’re talking about this year’s Flower and Garden Festival Passport! The free Festival Passport is a booklet that essentially acts as your guide to the Festival. You can pick one up as you walk into the park or at any of the Festival’s Outdoor Kitchen Food Booths. 2024 EPCOT Flower and Garden Festival Passport Let’s take a look inside the passport! Activities for Kids & Families Your festival passport will also tell you what topiaries you’ll see and where to find ALL of them! This is extremely helpful for finding your favorite characters and photo ops. List of Topiaries GREEN THUMB ALERT! It wouldn’t be a Flower and Garden Festival without the GARDENS, would it? The merchandise page will tell you where to find them. Merchandise Offerings Next is a page telling you about different tours you can take throughout the festival, both guided and self-guided. (For example, The English Tea Garden in the United Kingdom Pavilion has options for both, whereas Behind the Seeds is a guided, extra-ticket tour). And if you love live music, you won’t want to skip the Garden Rocks Concert Series. Held at the America Gardens Theatre, globally known artists perform Fridays through Mondays while local bands perform Tuesdays through Thursdays. 5. It’s time! The 2024 EPCOT Flower and Garden Festival is now open, and we bet you’re wondering how bad the crowds were on opening day! Topiaries in China The 2024 EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival kicked off February 28th and runs through May 27th this year. The Festival began on a Wednesday, which could make the crowds a bit better than a Festival that may start on a Friday (when more guests may have already arrived for their weekend trips). But that doesn’t mean EPCOT won’t get busy. So join us now for an honest look at the crowds so you know what to expect. We started our morning bright and early at EPCOT to see what the Festival had to offer! When we got to the entrance, crowds were already lined up. As expected, it wasn’t the worst festival crowds at the entrance that we’ve seen, possibly because it was on a Wednesday. Heavy crowds trying to get in! When we got into the park, we saw a VERY long line at Creations Shop. Those Lug bags are very popular this year, and people were ready to grab the festival merchandise. The line to go into the store was about 20 minutes for us when we got in it, but we guess that it got to around 45 minutes. EPCOT opened at 9AM ET to all guests, but at 8:30AM to Disney World hotel guests with the Early Theme Park Entry perk. While that 30 minutes into the park won’t necessarily help you get a head start on the food booths (many of these don’t open until World Showcase opens, around 11AM), it CAN help you get early access to some great photo opportunities in the park and (perhaps more importantly) the merchandise. Crowds near Creations We’re anticipating that the Lug festival bags will sell out quickly, but hopefully, Disney has lots in storage to keep refilling the stands throughout the day like they did with the Festival of the Arts this year. For the Flower and Garden Festival, the Orange Bird Lug bags are limited to one per person! There are also new Loungefly backpacks and ears that are limited to two per person and Annual Passholder t-shirts are limited to one persone. ©Disney It should be noted, that we were at EPCOT well before the Festival food booths (the main stars of the show) opened. We expect crowds could get MUCH worse as the day goes on, so here’s our pro tip for conquering some of the crowds: GO EARLY! Getting in early and taking advantage of that Early Theme Park Entry time (if you qualify) could be key to helping you enjoy some of EPCOT with lower crowds. While Early Theme Park Entry or even just rope-dropping the Park won’t get you access to everything, you can walk around the open areas, see the Festival topiaries that you have access to, and potentially even grab some Festival merchandise with lower crowds. 6. Disney World days are NOT created equal. Main Street at Disney World Disney World is already expensive as is, and it’s about to get even pricier in 2025. Disney World just released its pricing schedule through October 2025, and we can confirm single-day tickets will be more expensive in 2025 than they were this year. If you’re looking to avoid some of those more expensive days (which can also feature bad crowds), you’ve come to the right place! We’re here to help you navigate the price increases by sharing some 2025 dates you should likely avoid if you’re trying to budget and not overspend on a Disney vacation. Scanning in! The previous price range for single-park, one-day adult tickets used to be $109, but the lowest will be $119 in 2025. To highlight which 2025 dates will have an even higher base, we put together a list based on 1-day, 1-park adult ticket pricing, and, an important note, these prices are just the starting point for the overall day. That means other parks can be more expensive and could later increase in price. The following dates feature ticket prices starting at $169.99 per ticket: February 3rd through February 5th, 2025 February 14th through February 22nd, 2025 March 15th and 16th, 2025 March 28th through March 30th, 2025 April 4th through April 6th, 2025 April 18th through April 20th, 2025 April 25th through April 27th, 2025 ©Disney By comparison, the February dates this year ranged from $139 to $164+, the 2024 March dates range from $154 to $164+, and the 2024 April dates range from $154 to $164+. These dates being pricier than the rest of the year (at least through October) make some sense. February can play host to several national cheer and dance events and tournaments to supplement what has historically been a down period for tourism, and March and April give way to Spring Break vacations, some of the busiest days at Disney World. Spring Break crowds Another important thing to keep in mind when looking at these dates is that those prices are for the cheapest park of the day. If you want to visit a more expensive park, tack on a Park Hopper option, and add Genie+ (and Genie+ surge pricing), your total is going to look vastly different than what we’re showing you. Pirates of the Caribbean The days you should try to avoid aren’t limited to the later winter and spring. Disney only released the pricing through October, but history shows us the holiday season (sometimes including Halloween) can be some of the most expensive days of the year to visit. From Late October all the way through the end of the year, you should expect bigger crowds and higher prices until we reach the new year and the cycle starts all over again. Christmas in Magic Kingdom Want to know a better time to travel to Disney World, we have a full list of the cheapest days to go to Disney World in 2025 here. 7. We just heard a super delicious SECRET! The Gideon’s store in Disney Springs Gideon’s Bakehouse is a fan-favorite bakery located in Disney Springs. It’s famous for nearly-half-pound cookies, GIGANTIC cake slices, and unique cold brew flavors. Today ONLY, you can get a NEVER-BEFORE-SEEN treat, but only if you know the secret code! Gideon’s announced on Instagram that there’s a secret cake slice available at both the Disney Springs and East End Market locations! We love Gideon’s Bakehouse The secret slice won’t be on display (cause it’s a SECRET, of course), so to get it, you need to tell an employee “Steve Hates Sprinkles.” That might seem like an odd secret passcode, but it’s actually true. The owner of Gideon’s Bakehouse — Steve Lewis — does hate sprinkles on his desserts. Steve Lewis of Gideon’s Bakehouse Although Steve is not a fan of sprinkles on treats, he said that the amazing team at Gideon’s created the Banana Split Cake (which DOES have sprinkles on it), and it was so delicious that he let the sprinkles thing slide. ©Gideon’s Bakehouse This secret Banana Split slice is made of layers of strawberry, vanilla, and chocolate cake, smothered in banana buttercream, filled with housemade candied peanuts, and topped with a chocolate-covered cherry. WOW. ©Gideon’s Bakehouse Here’s the catch: you need to get this cake TODAY, because it won’t be available after the shops close tonight!⁣ Depending on what time of day you visit, you may need to join a virtual queue to go inside, and the wait could be multiple hours long. You’ll need to visit the bakehouse and talk to the employees outside to join the queue. Usually there’s just a standby line in the morning and later at night, but keep in mind that if you go at night, you run the risk of the secret cake slices being sold out. 8. It’s been a little bit since we last heard of an update about the Disney Treasure ship, but this one’s quite exciting! A Haunted Mansion lounge is coming soon! It wasn’t too long ago that Haunted Mansion fans went bananas over the news that the beloved attraction would be making a first-of-its-kind appearance at sea with a themed parlor and we even got a sneak peek at some of the unique merchandise you’ll be able to purchase onboard the ship. Now, Disney is revealing another cool hidden detail that you’ll be able to spot (and impress your friends with your extensive Disney knowledge)! The latest update for the ship gives us another detail about the highly anticipated Haunted Mansion Parlor. Haunted Mansion Parlor, Disney Treasure ©Disney A familiar-looking sculpture is looking to make its way to join the happy haunts that are set to board the Disney Treasure ship. Walt Disney Imagineering at Disney World is hard at work preparing this melting bust for transport to the ship. If at first glance you seem to think to yourself, “Hey, I’ve seen that one before!” you very well may have… just not quite like this. ©Disney This mysterious bust is inspired by the Disney Legend Rolly Crump, who worked on the original Haunted Mansion attraction at Disneyland (and the news of this bust’s addition happens to have been released on his birthday)! ©Disney “Rolly” was actually a nickname given to him by Walt Disney himself during his early days with The Walt Disney Company, and he was an integral voice and creator of the original Haunted Mansion attraction. Now, 60 years after the attraction’s debut, the Haunted Mansion Parlor will become the next chapter of the Haunted Mansion saga for Disney Cruise Line voyagers to experience at sea. The entire atmosphere of the parlor will have Rolly’s unique brand of charm, and little bits of eccentricity, and aims to be a “proud continuation of his legacy, celebrating the weird and the fantastical.” Rolly Crump via ©LA Times Part of Rolly’s earliest concepts for a “Museum of the Weird” inspired what we now know today as the Haunted Mansion. His original drawings and vision included a character affectionately known as the “Candle Man” who appeared to be melting like a candle. A small nod to this “Candle Man” can actually be spotted in Disney World’s Haunted Mansion ride in the attic scene (but you’ll have to look closely!). Candle Man It seemed fitting that the design for Rolly’s memorial bust would be inspired by his own creative genius, so the sculpture will appear dripping on the side of his face along with a memorial plaque that will read, “BROTHER ROLAND- FOREVER REVERED FOR EMBRACING THE WEIRD.” Be sure to look for Rolly’s bust as a cool easter egg to spot when you set sail on the Disney Treasure ship and enter the Haunted Mansion Parlor. We think this is a very fitting nod to one of the original creative giants behind one of the most beloved attractions for Disney. 9. We spy with our little eyes, a booth hiding behind some construction walls! What’s going on back there? While traversing EPCOT we had come across a mysterious booth behind construction walls near Journey Into Imagination with Figment in EPCOT. We were definitely curious, and we are happy to report we can officially confirm what is behind the walls! Why is this booth here and what does it mean? Have no fear because this booth area is READY to open TOMORROW! This area was previously walled off and the walls have finally come down and we got a peek inside! After what seemed like forever, this area will be open for Flower & Garden! This reopened area will be home to the Florida Fresh booth. Here is a quick peek at the menu for the Flower & Garden Festival: Food Items: Grilled Warm Water Lobster Tail with Key lime butter (New) Cubanito with mojo-marinated pork belly, ham, Swiss cheese, pickles, and stone ground mustard sauce (New) Florida Strawberry Shortcake (Plant-based) (Garden Graze Food Stroll) Beverages: Cucumber-Watermelon Slushy (Non-alcoholic beverage) Cucumber-Watermelon Slushy with Gin Read our Florida Fresh booth review from last year! However, we will be back tomorrow for the OPENING of the EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival and get you REAL close! The booth is looking FRESH and ready to serve guests tomorrow! We do have to break some bad news though, while this area is getting ready to open up, we spotted some more construction walls today blocking a pathway from World Nature to World Showcase. 10. Everyone is talking about the new world’s largest cruise ship — Royal Caribbean’s Icon of the Seas. But did you know that its sister ship was on the way? Royal Caribbean’s Star of the Seas Royal Caribbean’s Star of the Seas was set to make its debut in August 2025. In fact, the initial sailings for this cruise went on sale in December. But now, travelers are learning that the ship will be delayed, and the initial sailing has been canceled. Royal Caribbean notified travel agents today that the new ship’s inaugural sailing on August 17th, 2025, has been canceled. “After a review of the work that remains to be done, we’re unfortunately forced to delay the ship’s delivery date,” Royal Caribbean said in an email. Star of the Seas will travel to Royal Caribbean’s private island, Coco Cay. The new inaugural sailing for the ship will begin on August 31st, 2025, and travelers who had booked the August 17th cruise can automatically transfer to the new sailing. If that doesn’t work for them, Royal Caribbean is offering sailings on alternative ships during the week of August 17th, or full refunds. “Chill Island” is the name of the pool deck on Star of the Seas. When the Star of the Seas sets sail, its home port will be Port Canaveral in Florida, and it will sail on 7-day Caribbean itineraries. The ship will have six waterslides, a combination ropes course/sky walk/thrill ride, and seven pools — including an infinity pool suspended 135-feet above the ocean. AquaDome on the Star of the Seas If you were booked on the canceled cruise, you should contact your travel agent or Royal Caribbean for more information and to change your plans. Peter Pan’s Never Land will include two new rides — Peter Pan’s Never Land Adventure and Fairy Tinker Bell’s Busy Buggies. ©Disney And there will be a Peter Pan-themed restaurant! Lookout Cookout is a hideout built by the Lost Kids, and you can join them there for a meal! The restaurant is built with parts of a shipwreck that had washed ashore at Never Land. 12. Disney just released information about ticket prices for 2025, and the cost to visit The Most Magical Place on Earth has definitely increased. But exactly how MUCH have ticket prices gone up? We have all the data right here. Cinderella Castle in Magic Kingdom Each year, Disney announces updated prices for theme park tickets, and we always do the math to find out which days got more expensive, which days got cheaper, and which didn’t change at all. In addition, we’ve created a list of the most expensive and cheapest days to visit the parks! Note that the prices we’re working with here are the starting ticket prices, which means the lowest possible rate. Usually, this is the price for Disney’s Animal Kingdom, so you can expect prices for the other parks to be a bit higher. Animal Kingdom Overall, the price range of tickets will go up in 2025. In 2024, the starting prices ranged from $109 to $164. In 2025, the starting prices will be between $119 and $169. EPCOT We saw increases on these starting prices, but note that Park Hopper tickets have also increased in price. Hollywood Studios Here’s a look at ALL the price changes, month-by-month: January Ticket Price Changes In January, most days will see a price increase from 2024 to 2025. A few days will decrease in price or stay the same, but over half of the days will get more expensive. January Ticket Price Changes If you’re visiting in January, it looks like the best time to go will be the 6th, 7th, or 13th. February Ticket Price Changes In February, almost every single day will see a price increase in 2025. February Ticket Price Changes Only one day will decrease in price: February 24th. March Ticket Price Changes March is a similar picture: Most days will increase in price, while only a few will stay the same price. March Ticket Price Changes There will be no days with cheaper prices in 2025 compared to 2024. April Ticket Price Changes In April, all but two days will increase in price in 2025. April Ticket Price Changes With so many price increases, it seems that Disney is expecting April to be a popular month in the parks. May Ticket Price Changes May is another popular month for Disney World — with some schools getting out for summer break, we often see families spending their vacation in the parks. May Ticket Price Changes In May 2025, most days will see price increases. June Ticket Price Changes Although some June days got cheaper in 2024, there will be no price decreases this month in 2025. June Ticket Price Changes The summer months are notoriously busy in Disney World! July Ticket Price Changes July is the first month so far to have EVERY SINGLE DAY see a price increase in 2025. July Ticket Price Changes Some of the price increases are pretty significant, too, jumping from $139 to $154. August Ticket Price Changes August has more variety in the changes, with a few days seeing the same prices as 2024 and some even showing decreases. August Ticket Price Changes This month tends to be a mixed bag when it comes to crowds: It’s still summer break, but school is starting in some areas, so usually fewer families are in the parks compared to June and July. September Ticket Price Changes September is a breath of fresh air! This month will see several price decreases. September Ticket Price Changes In fact, the month is split pretty evenly between price increases and decreases. October Ticket Price Changes In October, we’re back to the price increases, with almost every single day showing a price increase. October Ticket Price Changes The only day that’s staying the same price is October 6th. So far, Disney has only released pricing information through October, but we will update this post when November and December are added. Now, let’s take a look at the most expensive and cheapest days to go to Disney World in 2025: The Most Expensive Days To Go to Disney World in 2025 Tickets on these days start at $169 and go up from there: February 3rd-5th (in 2024, these were $139+ to $144+) February 14th-22nd (in 2024 these were $149+ to $164+) March 15th-16th (in 2024 these were $154+ to 159+) March 28th-30th (in 2024 these were $159+ to $164+) April 4th-6th (in 2024 these were $159+) April 11th-13th (in 2024 these were $154+ to 159+) April 18th-2th (in 2024 these were $159+ to 164+) April 25th-27th (in 2024 these were $149+) October 13th (in 2024 this was $154+) The Cheapest Days To Go to Disney World in 2025 Tickets on these days start at $119. Note that this is the base price — tickets for some parks may cost more than others: August 19th-22nd (in 2024 these were $109+ to $129+) August 25th-28th (in 2024 these were $109+ to $134+) September 2nd-4th (in 2024 these were $109+ to $149+) September 9th-11th (in 2024 these were $109+ to $129+) September 15th-18th (in 2024 these were $109+ to $139+) September 23rd-25th (in 2024 these were $109+ to $139+) Overall, if you’re looking for the cheapest time to visit Disney World in 2025, September is a great month to go! 13. We’re getting so excited for this year’s EPCOT Flower & Garden Festival! A new topiary Display for this year And the colorful character topiaries might be our favorite part! We’ve already spotted a super cool, musical topiary that’s brand new for this year’s festival but another new topiary just caught our eye! Last year we spotted a dazzling display featuring the sisters Isabella, Luisa, and Mirabel from Encanto prominently displayed at EPCOT’s front entrance welcoming in its visitors. This year, another spectacular display has taken this prime spot — and it’s gorgeous! ‘Wish’ topiary in EPCOT Say hello to Asha, Star, and even Valentino from Disney’s animated film, Wish. This movie debuted late last year and and along with it, EPCOT got a festival show featuring the original songs from the film, and even a dedicated meet and greet for Asha. Asha from the new movie ‘Wish’ Let’s take a closer look at the details! Asha can be seen front and center of the whole piece holding Star, who appears to be bursting with energy and delight! Asha She’s surrounded by mushrooms and wildlife on each side… Mushroom details … but to her right (our left), you can even spot her trusty sidekick goat, Valentino, mid-bounce! Valentino This year Disney chose another stunning display to really grab hold of EPCOT’s visitors and welcome them into the park and the festival vibes. We can’t wait for the festival to officially begin. We’ll be out on the opening day of the festival covering all of the entertainment offerings, tasty foods and delicious sips, be sure to stay tuned as we bring you along with us! 14. If you’re on any part of the internet that specializes in wellness, then you’ve probably seen massage guns! Cinderella Castle Yep, we’re talking about the handheld devices that look like glorified meat tenderizers. They supposedly aid in recovery and all that jazz if you live an active lifestyle. They’re always popping up on our feeds, and they got us thinking… We’re at Disney World every day, and that’s a LOT of walking. We decided to treat ourselves to a massage gun as a silly little treat. Except… we ended up loving it. DISCLOSURE: This post may contain affiliate links, meaning when you click the links and make a purchase, we receive a commission. We were knee-deep into our regularly-scheduled Amazon scroll when we realized that the massage gun was on sale. Did we particularly NEED a massage gun? Well, no. BUT we figured it wouldn’t hurt anything. (That’s our mindset a LOT of the time when it comes to spending money.) We ended up loving the massage gun SO MUCH that we decided to share it with all of you avid Disney World visitors. Even if you aren’t in Disney World or über active all the time, we think you’ll REALLY enjoy this. Grab the Amazon Massage Gun ©Amazon This massage gun changed our lives. Truly. It’s quiet, it has 6 different attachments for different areas of your body, and it’s great for literally ANYONE. Like, you don’t have to be a superstar athlete to find some sort of use out of this. One of the best parts about it is that it’s re-chargable, and once it’s charged, you don’t need it to be plugged in as you’re using it. It has multiple speeds and intensities, but we like to keep it on the low settings. Grab it from Amazon Cassie used it on her most recent trip to Disney World after an uncomfortable night of sleep left her with a sore neck and shoulders. She described it as an ASMR feeling that you get when someone is playing with your hair. Who wouldn’t want that feeling all the time?! She also said she thought that this would be great for anyone who isn’t used to walking a whole lot, or anyone who is a bit older and gets sore easily. Magic Kingdom Grab this for your next Disney World trip to keep in your hotel room — you won’t regret it. Plus, if you enjoy the runDisney events, it could be even more useful. It’s also pretty compact and easy to pack! We’re always on the lookout for things to make you more comfortable and to help make your Disney World trip a breeze. 15. When you go to Disney World, you probably get excited to ride all the rides and rank your favorites. The food is probably our favorite part about the Disney parks, but the rides are a close second. Rock ‘N’ Roller Coaster Sadly, there are some trips you may take where your favorite rides aren’t running, which can be a real drag if you have been eager to ride it. Rides close down in Disney World for lots of reasons, but routine refurbishments are very common, and we’re happy they are because they ensure the best and safest rides for us. So, if you’re planning a trip in March, be prepared for these next few rides and attractions to be closed. Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith A fan-favorite thrill ride in Disney’s Hollywood Studios closed for a lengthy refurbishment on January 8th. Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster is an exciting, indoor coaster that you blast around on listening to Aerosmith hits. Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster At first, we didn’t know how long it would be closed, but the ride’s website eventually stated that it would reopen again this coming summer. It’s not uncommon for this ride to go through lengthy refurbishments. We saw the same thing in 2023 when it closed in January and reopened in May. It’s possible that will happen again, but it will for sure be closed in March. Country Bear Jamboree No, Country Bear Jamboree is not a ride, but it is a very popular attraction that we felt deserved to be on this list. The Country Bears have taken a break from performing for a major overhaul. Bear with us! The show closed on January 27th, 2024, and Disney has announced that it will reopen with an all-new show featuring new songs this summer. So if you’re headed to Magic Kingdom in March, just know that you might spot one of the bears walking around, but you won’t be able to catch their show. Tiana’s Bayou Adventure By now we’re all probably familiar with the new ride taking over the old Splash Mountain, Tiana’s Bayou Adventure. Lots of construction progress has been happening recently, which is great news since this ride will also be opening this summer in Disney World! Tiana’s Bayou Adventure As we eagerly await to find out just what this bayou adventure will entail, we’re keeping a close eye on the progress. So keep that excitement up as we get closer to opening day! Kali River Rapids Kali River Rapids in Disney’s Animal Kingdom is another ride that often closes during the winter for refurbishment. The ride closed on January 8th, and Disney mentioned that it would reopen in mid-March. Kali River Rapids We checked the ride’s website recently and noticed that times are now showing up for the water ride on March 15th! So if you’re going to be in Animal Kingdom before March 15th, know that this ride will still be closed. But for any trip on or after March 15th, get ready to get wet! Tree of Life Hopefully, these closures don’t put too big of a kink in your plans! Disney does its best to ensure that we all stay safe and have a fun experience at their attractions. We’re always checking for closures, so keep following DFB for more Disney news! How Many Rides Can You Get On Per Day With Genie+ in Disney World?! We Dig In! 19. If you need another reason to add an international Disney trip to your 2024 plans, we’ve got PLENTY for you now! ©Disney We’ve been following the updates of Fantasy Springs at Tokyo DisneySea since its announcement, and we screamed with excitement when the concept art was released! While that gave us our first “peek” at what was to come, it seems that Disney is now ready to share EVEN MORE details with us than ever before. Here’s everything you need to know about Fantasy Springs so far! Disney has just announced new details about all the things coming to Fantasy Springs. This new expansion will be 8th themed land at Tokyo DisneySea, and it’s set to open on June 6th, 2024. ©Disney To talk about Fantasy Springs more in-depth, you’ll probably need to know the lay of the land before we get any further. Fantasy Springs will be made up of “magical springs that will lead to a world of Disney fantasy” and are inspired by popular Disney animated films. You’ll be able to step inside the Frozen Kingdom for the first time, experience Rapunzel’s Forest (and spot her incredible artwork all around you), and even set off for adventure inside Peter Pan’s Never Land. ©Disney That’s not all that will be new though, Disney is also adding ANOTHER incredible hotel, Tokyo DisneySea Fantasy Springs Hotel, to accommodate even more incoming visitors. To enter Fantasy Springs visitors will need a Standby Pass (which is available for free) or a Disney Premier Access (which is available as a paid option for eligible attractions) to experience all the new land will have to offer. Let’s take a closer look at all the new details from each section of the land! Frozen Kingdom Frozen Kingdom picks up the Frozen story where we last left off in the film with all of us invited to visit the kingdom of Arendelle. ©Disney You’ll be able to board a boat on Anna and Elsa’s Frozen Journey. This slow-moving boat ride will take you through the storyline of the Frozen film and you’ll get an opportunity to immerse yourself in the heartwarming tale of realizing true love (that can thaw a frozen heart). ©Disney This version will be similar to what we have at Disney World with Frozen Ever After however, it will also feature a few more of the songs from the movie like “Love Is An Open Door,” “Do You Want To Build A Snowman,” and “For The First Time In Forever.” This is a ride that will be compatible with the paid option of Disney Premiere Access to enjoy. Rapunzel’s Forrest Here you’ll be able to visit Rapunzel’s childhood home straight from the Tangled film. ©Disney You’ll be able to ride Rapunzel’s Lantern Festival, which is the first Disney attraction to feature Rapunzel’s story. ©Disney This ride will allow you to embark on a romantic gondola tour aboard a boat-shaped vehicle. Along your ride, you’ll spot Rapunzel gazing out her tower singing “When Will My Life Begin” as Flynn Rider watches on. And, you’ll even get a chance to see their relationship unfold after Rapunzel escapes her tower to have her “best day ever” and watch as the pair falls in love during the Lantern Festival singing, “I See The Light.” This attraction will also be compatible with the paid option of Disney Premiere Access. Peter Pan’s Never Land In Peter Pan’s Never Land Adventure, you will join Peter Pan, Tinker Bell, and the Lost Kids on an epic adventure! During the ride, you’ll race through Never Land to rescue John (Wendy’s brother) from Captain Hook and his pesky band of pirates. After Peter Pan announces to you that John has been kidnapped, you’ll board a boat and set off on an adventure. ©Disney Then, Tinker Bell will sprinkle fairy dust on your boat, allowing you to take flight! During your ride, you’ll find familiar characters from the film like Wendy, Michael, the mermaids, and Tiger Lily before discovering the villainous Captain Hook aboard the Jolly Roger and watching as the epic pirate battle unfolds before you. This attraction will also be compatible with Disney Premiere Access. Another attraction can be found at Fairy Tinker Bell’s Busy Buggies. This attraction will be located in Pixie Hollow, the neighboring fairy valley in Never Land where Tinker Bell and her fairy friends live. ©Disney Here you’ll board a Busy Buggy (an invention of Tinker Bell’s no doubt), and explore the fairy valley and its changing seasons. Once aboard you’re shrunk to fairy size! Everything from flowers and mushrooms to painting utensils and even pieces of nibbled cheese will be so much larger in size than you’re used to. The attraction’s boarding area is a delivery service location where you’ll board the Busy Buggy and help Tinker Bell deliver items to those waiting for them. ©Disney You’ll even get a chance to see how the seasons change throughout Fairy Valley so hang on tight! We’ll continue to update you as we learn even more about Disney’s newest expansion land and its opening day, so be sure to stay tuned with us for the latest! 20. Imagine this, you’ve just snagged a delicious frozen lime margarita with that salt that you love so much around the rim. You waited 15 minutes just to get your hands on it, and you are one happy camper. You and your family start strolling around EPCOT and approach the newest attraction, Journey of Water — Inspired By Moana. Margarita, anyone? Journey of Water is a new walk-through experience that allows you to kinda of go at your own pace. It’s nice during the day but is stunning at night. Sounds like the perfect place for a drink, right? Well apparently, WRONG. As I approached with my marg, I was quickly turned away by a Cast Member and told that I had to finish my drink before entering the attraction. I was so shocked by I quickly went off to the side and let the rest of my party proceed through the attraction so we wouldn’t hold anyone up behind us. I was pretty surprised by this rule and the fact that we didn’t know it. So in order to confirm for you all, we had some reporters go back and ask a Cast Member if drinks are allowed on the attraction. We were able to confirm that is indeed the case — drinks aren’t allowed. Journey of Water — Inspired by Moana Now, this wouldn’t have shocked us if you can’t eat and drink practically everywhere in EPCOT. That’s pretty much what the park is associated with at this point, especially when a festival is happening and you’re constantly trying new things on the go. As you can see, I really regretted buying my marg when I did and wish I would have gone through Journey of Water beforehand. Instead I found myself unable to really enjoy it since I quickly slurped it down. Journey of Water, Inspired by Moana Since this was such a huge shock to us, we thought we’d give you all a heads up on this drinking rule so you don’t find yourself in a similar situation. These aren’t the only strange drinking rules in EPCOT. You can check out a few more below. I.D. Rules in EPCOT 6 Surprising Rules About Drinking in Disney World! 21. The maze of construction walls STRIKES AGAIN in EPCOT! EPCOT construction walls EPCOT has a reputation for being a confusing maze of temporary construction walls because Disney has been updating and refurbishing various parts of this park for YEARS now. We finally saw a big chunk of those construction walls come down when the World Celebration Gardens opened in late 2023. Now, however, NEW construction walls have gone up, and they’re blocking one of the most popular shortcuts in the park. Today, we noticed that new construction walls have been put up in the World Nature section of EPCOT. Oh NO! The walls are blocking the shortcut that runs from World Nature to World Showcase. Here’s a look at which shortcut is now blocked on a map (please enjoy our amazing artistic skills): (Artistic skills by Lydia) ©Disney For reference, we’re looking at the zoomed-in part of the EPCOT map that’s close to the Imagination pavilion. Here’s a zoomed-out map of EPCOT — the section where the shortcut is closed is right next to the Imagination pavilion, in the middle/left part of the map. ©Disney So for now, if you find yourself in World Nature and you want to go to World Showcase, you’ll need to take an alternate route! The fastest way to get there is to cut through the World Celebration gardens. Here is our beautiful map showing you that redirected path: (Artistic skills by Sara) ©Disney Of course, that path has you going right at World Showcase, which we know is controversial. You can definitely choose to go left instead (starting at the Mexico pavilion) once you arrive at the crossroads. Mexico Pavilion Several shortcuts and pathways have been closed, reopened, and closed again in EPCOT recently. For a while, one of our favorite shortcuts to get from the entrance back to World Nature was closed, but luckily that one has reopened since then! EPCOT EPCOT’s massive transformation has been years in the making, but it’s nearing completion! The World Celebration Gardens (including the Walt the Dreamer statue) are now open… Gardens near Journey of Water …and the new CommuniCore Hall and CommuniCore Plaza festival areas should open this year! We’re hoping that they’ll open in time to be used for the Food & Wine Festival later this summer. CommuniCore Hall Stay tuned to DFB for more updates on the latest Disney news! 22. We’re two months into 2024, and it’s already time to start planning those 2025 Disney World vacations! Magic Kingdom Yep, 2025 Vacation bookings JUST opened, even though it’s only February. This came as quite a surprise to a lot of Disney fans, as booking typically doesn’t start until later in the spring. For example, 2024 bookings opened on May 31st, 2023. We aren’t complaining, though. This just means we have EXTRA time to get our ducks in a row for 2025. Overall, tickets saw price increases throughout the year. However, there are, of course, still CHEAPER times to go. Let’s talk about it! Keep in mind that these prices are for dates from January 2025 through October 2025, as those are the only dates currently available on Disney’s website. The cheapest tickets for 2025 fall at $119 while the most expensive tickets fall at $169. In 2024, the cheapest tickets fell at $109 while the most expensive ones fell at $164. Disney World So… When can we expect to see those cheaper tickets? Well, we don’t see any significant or consistent price decreases until later in the year — in August. This makes sense, as August typically marks the end of vacation season with a lot of Americans going back to school. Here’s a look at the calendar: ©Disney August is in second place for the months with the most dates with the lowest ticket prices of the year, which fall at $119. While there are more $119 days in 2025, they’re few and far between. August is the month that has these low prices the most consistently. Check it out! August 19th — $119 August 20th — $119 August 20th — $119 August 21st — $119 August 22nd — $119 August 25th — $119 August 26th — $119 August 27th — $119 August 28th — $119 September is the winner! September has the MOST dates at $119! ©Disney Here’s a list: September 2nd — $119 September 3rd — $119 September 4th — $119 September 9th — $119 September 10th — $119 September 11th — $119 September 15th — $119 September 16th — $119 September 17th — $119 September 18th — $119 September 23rd — $119 September 24th — $119 September 25th — $119 Still, the lowest price of 2025 which is a $10 increase from the lowest price of 2024: $109. $10 per ticket can really add up, especially for larger parties, so it’s honestly a great thing that Disney let us know off these changes SOONER. That means we have plenty of time to budget! Oh, and if you do decide to visit Disney World during August, be prepared for some HEAT. This is one of the HOTTEST months of the year in Central Florida, and you’ll want to make sure to plan some comfortable and breezy outfits as well as extra supplies to stay hydrated. 23. Even in the Most Magical Place on Earth, things can still sometimes go wrong. EPCOT You hope it won’t happen to you, but it’s best to be prepared no matter what ends up happening on your trip. From missed reservations to ride malfunctions and more, expecting the unexpected is always a good plan in Disney World. And, some folks at EPCOT today certainly experienced what we’d call unexpected. The Land Pavilion was evacuated in EPCOT on February 27th around 12:30PM. Cast Members shared that fire alarms had gone off and the entire building was evacuated. Cast Members were stationed out in front of the pavilion, answering guests’ questions and, ultimately, stopping them from going in. They shared that this wasn’t a drill, so the situation is being taken very seriously. Land Pavilion evacuation Anyone who had a Lightning Lane for a ride inside the pavilion during the evacuation was given an Experience Redemption (A.K.A. a “free” Lightning Lane pass) to use later in the day since they had to deal with the inconvenience. The Cast Members didn’t share any more information, so if you’re thinking about heading to the Land Pavilion right now — don’t! We’re not sure how long it will be closed, but will keep you updated with the latest information. Cast Members Stay tuned to DFB as we continue to bring you updates on this situation and the latest news from Disney World.
