  1. We’re Disney Adults. Of course, we have some weird habits and confessions! Magic Kingdom’s Cinderella Castle We spend a lot of time in the Disney World parks (we’re there every day), and we watch a TON of Disney movies (Disney+ is our comfort zone), so we’re pretty deep into the Disney fandom bubble. And when you’re as much of a die-hard fan as we are, you end up with some confessions you need to get off your chest! DISCLOSURE: This post may contain affiliate links, meaning when you click the links and make a purchase, we receive a commission. We’re Park Snobs When we asked our team about their Disney confessions, one of the most common is that we’re all park snobs in some way or another! One person on our team said they pretty much only go to EPCOT during their vacations, while another said she’d be fine with not ever going to Magic Kingdom. Shocking, right?! Disney’s Animal Kingdom But when you visit as much as we do, you really get to know what you like! If you’re a laid-back park experience kind of person, Animal Kingdom might be your vibe. If you’re just here for the food and drinks, it’s EPCOT. Thrill ride, Star Wars, and Pixar fans will want Hollywood Studios, while people who crave nostalgia will probably head to Magic Kingdom. Millennium Falcon Especially for us locals, we find ourselves getting into the habit of visiting the same parks over and over during our free time. Whoopsie! We Totally Have Crushes on Fictional Characters Like I said, we watch a LOT of Disney movies. Crushes on actors? Maybe not. But crushes on the fictional characters they portray? 100%! Here comes the smolder! From Kylo Ren to Captain America to even Flynn Rider and Prince Eric, we’ve developed plenty of (totally normal and completely okay) attachments to some of our favorite fictional friends. And when we get to see those same characters in the parks? Well, that’s just the icing on the cake! We’re Not Always the Best at Packing Park Bags We know exactly how to pack the perfect park bag, but we’re human, and we totally forget things all the time! We’ve been caught on more than one occasion in the parks without a phone charger and had to shell out the $30 for a FuelRod on the spot. It wasn’t pretty! Especially when you can get TWO FuelRods on Amazon for $35!! Fuel Rod machine We’ve also visited First Aid our fair share of times for things as simple as Band-Aids or Ibuprofen. Don’t be like us — double-check that packing list before you leave the hotel room! Or better yet, before you leave home! Here is a small first aid kit that you can throw in your park bag. We Sometimes Skip the Must-Dos Yes, we absolutely love the Festival of Fantasy Parade and Happily Ever After and Luminous — the Symphony of Us and Fantasmic. But when you’ve seen the fireworks and parades and stage shows at least half a dozen times, you sometimes realize that you could use that park time to get other things done! Happily Ever After We’ve been known to use fireworks times to knock out a few extra rides, stroll through an empty park, or visit the gift shops when they’re not as busy. We definitely still recommend all these offerings as must-dos for your first trip, but when it’s your 50th…do Disney however you’d like! Fantasmic! So there you have it — the confessions from our team of Disney adults! We’ll keep you in the loop with more Disney news and updates, so stay tuned to DFB. 3. It’s almost time to head over to Disney’s Hollywood Studios for some CHANGES! The AT-AT was misting the guests down below! That’s right! 7. We are so beyond excited for the new Frozen-themed land! Aren’t you? ©Disney Just in case you haven’t heard, Disney’s NEWEST theme park expansion, Fantasy Springs at Tokyo DisneySea Park, is opening on June 6th, 2024, with three immersive lands: Rapunzel’s Forest, Peter Pan’s Never Land, and Frozen Kingdom. If you’re anything like us, one thing we’ve been waiting to do is eat in Arendelle, and that’s exactly what we’ll be able to do in the new restaurants coming there. But now we’re wondering what’ll be on the menu? Well, let’s take a wild guess together! Fantasy Springs is located between the Lost River Delta and the Arabian Coast lands in Tokyo DisneySea. The Fantasy Springs entryway will have an archway featuring characters like Peter Pan, Rapunzel, Anna, and Elsa. ©Disney What we know so far is that the land will also have TWO restaurants: the Royal Banquet of Arendelle and Oaken’s OK Foods. Royal Banquet of Arendelle ©Disney The Royal Banquet of Arendelle is a quick-service restaurant that seats about 570 guests, located inside the Arendelle Castle. You will be able to use Mobile Order there. ©Disney Disney said, “Guests who visit this restaurant will be able to join the celebratory banquet and enjoy an offering called ‘Arendelle’s Royal Set.'” This meal is served to guests in a basket and has a full spread of appetizers, entrées, and dessert.” ©Disney At Oaken’s OK Foods, you can grab Oaken’s Yoo-Hoo Bread (Cardamom & Meat), which is “a variation on the cardamom rolls, a Scandinavian specialty.” The bread is filled with spiced meat and lingonberry jam. ©Disney But what else will be on the menus for these two spots? Well, we decided we’d put together a list of things we would like to see happen. First up, we’re thinking that there’s got to be some kind of representation for Kristoff here, and since we know he’s all about the reindeer, how about some kind of stew? Let’s call it “Kristoff’s Hearty Reindeer Stew.” Perhaps it’s a warm and hearty stew packed with vegetables, meat (or plant-based alternatives), and fluffy dumplings, which sounds great for a cold winter day in Arendelle. ©Disney Concept art of Anna and Elsa’s Frozen Journey Next up, let’s talk about Olaf. Picture this: “Olaf’s Hot Chocolate” It sounds perfect, right? We’re imagining that it’s a rich and creamy hot chocolate topped with mini marshmallows and a chocolate Olaf figurine. Would there be a more delightful way to get warmed up from the inside out? ©Disney Now we can’t forget about our boy Sven. So how about we add “Sven’s Carrot Cake” to the menu? We’re thinking of a moist carrot cake decorated with an adorable fondant Sven figurine. We saw Disney serve this treat at Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party in Disney World back in 2019! http://www.disneyfoodblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/11/wdw-magic-kingdom-2019-holiday-mvmcp-pecos-bill-tall-tale-inn-svens-carrot-cake-2-473x600.jpgSven’s Carrot Cake One last one for Kristoff, how about this for a snack? “Kristoff’s Ice Picks” would be pretzel sticks dipped in white chocolate and decorated with sprinkles, so they could look like Kristoff’s ice-harvesting tools. ©Disney Those are just some ideas we have for a Frozen menu. Disney, call us! Fantasy Springs is set to open on June 6th, 2024, and we hope we have the actual menus for these restaurants before then! We can’t wait to learn more about the new themed lands at Fantasy Springs! Don’t believe us? Check out this INSANELY cool food heading to Hong Kong Disneyland this month! We’re no strangers to amazing food in Hong Kong Disneyland, but these new eats coming to the parks are on another level. If you love Duffy and all his cute friends, you’ll love these new Duffy and Friends Desserts! Some of them look like waffle pops… ©Disney …while others are donuts and small cakes! ©Disney If you love apple pie, the Apple Pie A La Mode is not to be missed. 10. Going on a Disney Cruise is very different from vacationing in the Disney parks. The Disney Wish While the parks are usually go, go, go, a Disney Cruise is much more laid back. That includes when you head to Disney’s private island, Castaway Cay. While you can go snorkeling, parasailing, bike around the island, etc., you can also just lie on a towel and relax! You can also meet some of your favorite characters on the island, but if you do, you should know that there’s been a change recently! Mickey and Minnie are ready to swim the day away in new outfits that represent the iconic colors of Disney Cruise Line. Not only does he have the waves on his hat, but the details on his shirt also pay tribute to the first time we saw him on the water as Steamboat Willie. Minnie, on the other hand, has the ship’s wheel on her belt! ©Disney Meanwhile, Daisy’s ready to relax on the beach in her lounge wrap dress complete with nautical details, and Donald’s ready to snorkel with his underwater pals, like the ones seen on his floaties. ©Disney Goofy’s ready to play all the sports he can in his practical outfit, and Pluto’s celebrating all the other animals on the island and the ship. ©Disney But Chip and Dale are ready for an adventure like no other — they’ve used materials found around Castaway Cay to make their own homemade pirate costumes! But they’ve got their swim trunks and life jackets on, because their adventure may just take them to the sea. ©Disney We love these new outfits, but we’ll definitely miss the old ones and all the memories they held as well. 16. I’m a Disney World reporter, and I do some pretty weird things for my job! The Flower & Garden Festival is HERE! I take WAY more pictures of my food than any normal person, and it often means that strangers are staring at me in the parks. I’ve eaten at plenty of table service restaurants by myself, carried Tupperware in my park bag for snack leftovers, and memorized countless merchandise displays and Mobile Order menus. But on the first day of the EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival, you could’ve found me in one really unexpected place! We’re leaving the winter season here in Florida, and on the first day of the Flower & Garden Festival (which was February 28th), it was unseasonably warm. Our team was in the parks all day, trying every single food booth at the festival, but we were definitely battling the elements a little bit — my phone overheated no fewer than three times because of the sun! EPCOT This is a pretty common problem in Disney World in the summer, and usually, I can head into a gift shop that’s air-conditioned for a few minutes to let it cool down. But when you’re in the middle of a festival booth review, the show must go on! At the time, I was sitting with my full spread in World Celebration, and the only shade nearby was under a high-top table. (A high-top table that had a hidden secret! But more on that in a minute.) My view for part of my day Yep, that’s right! I spent probably 25 minutes of my day sitting on the curb in the shadow of this table so that my photos and videos would send to our writer and social media teams. And ultimately? It worked! Unconventional solutions, my friends. 2024 Florida Fresh Full Spread Our reporters will go to some pretty wild lengths to bring you content from the parks (I wasn’t the only one sitting under a table that day!), and we’re happy to do it! You guys make our job so much fun! In my defense, the Florida Fresh booth wasn’t physically open yet, so they didn’t have their own tables. And as an added bonus, while I was sitting underneath the table, I noticed that this seating area comes with purse hooks. How neat is that?! Now you won’t have to sit your purse or Loungefly on the ground! You can find these tables in the newly opened World Celebration area of EPCOT. Table hooks! 17. We have seen a lot of changes happen in Disney World over the past few years, such as new rides like TRON Lightcycle / Run and the transformation of EPCOT. There have been rumors swirling of a new Disney World theme park for YEARS, and it would be unlike anything Disney has done before. Cinderella Castle It was recently announced that Disney would be investing $60 billion in the parks and other areas of the company like Disney Cruise Line. And one of the “Blue Sky” projects Disney has been discussing over the past year and a half sounds a lot like these rumors we never expected to actually happen! For at least the past 7-8 years, the Internet starts buzzing about the idea that Disney World had plans to build a Disney Villains-themed park, tentatively named Dark Kingdom, every so often. The discussions often turn to ideas like the park’s icon being Maleficent’s Castle, and attractions based on Ursula, Jafar, Gaston, and the Evil Queen. ©Disney Maleficent’s Castle But here’s the thing — no one has ever confirmed that Disney was ever planning this park. In fact, it’s pretty likely they weren’t. As Disney Historian Jim Hill told Thrillist in 2017, “The idea of the Dark Kingdom seems to have basically come from the internet, with no basis on anything concrete.” So, why are these rumors circulating again? Well, as we mentioned earlier, Disney has made some big announcements in the past few months about investing billions and billions of dollars in capital projects over the next decade. And, they have some big competition coming in Orlando — Universal is opening a brand new theme park, Epic Universe, in 2025. The Cronos at Epic Universe ©Universal So naturally, some people are wondering if Disney World will build another theme park. They’ve got the land, they’ve committed to spending a WHOLE LOT of money, and some experts think they will announce that “fifth gate” any time now. So if they did, would it be Dark Kingdom? Probably not. But if that statement disappoints you, all is not lost. Disney HAS been talking about its Villains quite a bit lately — but as an expansion of Magic Kingdom, not a separate theme park. Villains in Mickey’s Boo To You Parade At the D23 Expo in 2022, Disney shared some Blue Sky Projects. These projects are ideas that MIGHT be implemented in the park in the future. Specifically, ideas of an expansion focused on what lies beyond Big Thunder Mountain Railroad were discussed. ©D23 Disney teased a few ideas of what could go beyond Big Thunder, like a Coco or an Encanto-themed land, but the idea that got many Disney fans talking was a possible VILLAINS-THEMED LAND! Possible Land Expansion in Magic Kingdom ©Disney Magic Kingdom is known for fantasy and magic, and while we sometimes catch villains out and about, there has never been a specific area or land dedicated to villains. This is something many Disney fans have been asking for and the announcement of the possibility of a villain’s land has some people excited. Villains Land Teased While Disney released some of the Blue Sky artwork, there is no confirmation that this land will happen. As of right now, they are just ideas. The good news is that Chief Creative Officer, Walt Disney Imagineering, Bryce Vaughn, shared that the expansion plans for Magic Kingdom are “the largest ever”, which gives us hope that maybe one or all of these Blue Sky ideas could be added. Potential Villains-Themed Land In the past, Magic Kingdom has hosted a Villains Night After Hours event. This event is similar to after-hours events that are currently being hosted in Magic Kingdom. The event had limited capacity to allow guests to have shorter wait times to experience popular attractions. Guests also had popcorn, bottled drinks, and ice cream novelties included in the price of the After Hours ticket. The difference between this and normal After Hours events was the villain-themed entertainment. So far no dates have been announced for the return of “Disney Villains After Hours at Magic Kingdom Park.” Disney Villains After Hours Party 2020 There is one place in Disney World that the villains have taken over, but not everyone has access to it. On the top floor of Disney’s Bay Lake Tower, there is a lounge called Top of the World. In 2020, when the parks shut down, the villains needed a place to stay and they took over the lounge and made it their own. When the lounge re-opened in 2022, the Villains had to vacate but they left behind certain villainous decor as well as their own spin on a new menu. The lounge was renamed to Top of the World Lounge – A Villains Lair. To enjoy this lounge, guests must be Disney Vacation Club Members. Top of the World Lounge – A Villain Lair Between After Hours events that have not returned and a Villain-themed lounge only for Disney Vacation Club Members, the villains do not have their own space in the parks. As mentioned before, Blue Sky projects are just ideas that might happen, and Disney has yet to confirm if the villains will get their own land beyond Big Thunder Mountain in Magic Kingdom. 18. You know we are BIG fans of Disney Cast Members. Sleeping Beauty Castle in Disneyland Cast Members are truly the reason for Disney park magic. They do incredible work every single day. So we get excited anytime we get new Cast Member news. Disney recently shared a look at some new Cast Member costumes, and we can’t help but be giddy about the upgrades they’re getting! They make magic come alive with Magic Shots, and they can make anyone look amazing in front of Sleeping Beauty Castle. 20. It’s really no secret that here at the Disney Food Blog, we love Dole Whip. Pineapple Dole Whip and Vanilla soft serve swirl Sitting right next to the Enchanted Tiki Room in Adventureland, Aloha Isle Refreshments is the classic location that many Disney World fans associate most with Dole Whip. We stopped by recently to review the offerings there, and decided to eat everything on the menu! Before we dive into the review, let’s set the record straight. While an Enchanted Tiki Room show was an opening day attraction in Magic Kingdom, Dole Whip was NOT on the menu in Disney World back in October 1971. In fact, Dole Whip wasn’t even created until 1984! Before that, Disney World sold pineapple juice and pineapple spears in Adventureland — but no Dole Whip. Now, let’s get back to our most recent trip to Aloha Isle Refreshments! Atmosphere This is an outdoor snack stand, and there’s usually a wait. When we arrived around 11AM on a recent weekday, there was a cast member at the front of the line, directing folks to the cash registers to order to try to disperse people evenly. Aloha Isle Refreshments Once we reached the counter, it was not a long wait to order and receive our treats — the whole thing probably took about 8 minutes. There are no tables at Aloha Isle, and many people choose to eat their Dole Whip treats while on the move. But if you’re looking for a table, you might find outdoor seating at Tortuga Tavern or a stand-up table in the alcove nearby. There’s usually a line at Aloha Isle Refreshements! Menu As we promised, we ate everything at Aloha Isle for this review! But in all fairness, there are just six items on the menu. They include three different Dole Whip soft serve flavors: coconut, pineapple, and vanilla, two floats (with Dole Whip), a pineapple upside down cake (with Dole Whip), and fresh pineapple juice — a nod to Dole’s roots in the Magic Kingdom! The Aloha Isle Refreshments menu Prices here range from $4.29 for the juice to $7.99 for the Tropical Serenade Float. Now let’s try some frozen stuff! Eats First up, we tried the cup of Dole Pineapple Juice available for $4.29. Pineapple Juice from Aloha Isle This is a small cup — the size of Disney World kids meal cups, and, well, it was pineapple juice. If you enjoy pineapple juice, you’ll like it, and we understand the nod to Disney history in serving it here, but we can’t think of too many reasons to order it when you have so many other options! Also, we’d just like to state for the record that we’re jealous of this cup that the pineapple juice comes in at Pineapple Lanai at the Polynesian Village Resort. Look at that pretty cup! This makes it look way prettier! Now on to the frozen stuff! You can get a cup of soft-serve for $5.99 here. Flavors available are pineapple, coconut, vanilla, or a pineapple-vanilla swirl. We got the swirl! Dole Whip Pineapple-Vanilla Swirl This cup is everything good about Dole Whip — the classic pineapple flavor mixed with creamy vanilla to temper the acidity of the fruity side of things. As you can see, they really pack the soft-serve in the cups here, and we feel like $5.99 is a pretty good value. We also gave the coconut soft-serve a try! Coconut soft-serve at Aloha Isle Now I am crazy for coconut, and especially coconut ice cream. I’ve tried them all, and I’m here to repeat once again that this is the best coconut frozen treat you will find anywhere. Too many coconut-flavored things are light on the actual flavor and wind up just tasting sweet, but this one packs that punch I am looking for. Again, this is a good value in Disney World at $5.99. Let’s move on to that Pineapple Upside Down Cake, because my coworker and I who went on this Dole Whip adventurer have a HACK for you! So many cakes! The Pineapple Upside-down Cake is priced at $6.99, and it typically comes topped with pineapple Dole Whip. BUT, cast members told us you can get any of the soft serve flavors on top — pineapple, vanilla, swirl or COCONUT. We went for the traditional pineapple here, but you had best believe I will be back for a Pineapple Upside-down Cake topped with COCONUT soft-serve soon! Pineapple Upside-down Cake from Aloha Isle Refreshements Both of us really enjoyed the combination of the soft-serve and the cake here. The cake had pineapple chunks baked right in to the top, and that full bit of the soft-serve, fruit and cake was bliss. We did note that the cake on its own would probably be too dry to be enjoyed without some sort of topping. The cake did have the buttery brown sugar topping we’re accustomed to on traditional upside-down cakes. And we get it — with the sweet pineapple soft-serve that probably would have been too much! Whew, we’re in the home stretch here, but there’s still more frozen, fruity desserts to taste. Now we bring you the Tropical Serenade Float. The Tropical Serenade Float The Tropical Serenade name here is a nod to the original show in the Enchanted Tiki Room. On Disney World opening day, the show was known as “Tropical Serenade.” This float is $7.99 and is coconut soft-serve, pineapple-orange-guava (POG) juice, and an Upside-down Pineapple Cake Pop. Again with that coconut soft-serve we love, and with the POG juice, you’re just getting all the tropical flavors. But that cake pop … we were basically just asking ourselves why it is there. It’s dipped in a candy coating and rolled in sweetened flaked coconut. Inside, it’s a pile of mush. We didn’t get any flavor at all from this — it’s just a gummy, sweet thing that we don’t need here. Dare we say it was just in the way? Don’t get us wrong, we would get this float again, but we will order it without the cake pop garnish. It’s adding nothing at all here. Now, we’ve reached the end of our Dole Whip journey here with the Pineapple Float for $6.99! Pineapple Float from Aloha Isle This one is super pineapple-y — pineapple Dole Whip and pineapple juice. You have to REALLY like pineapple to finish this. We do really like pineapple, but we think this float is actually a little more tasty with the contrast of the vanilla soft-serve or swirl to add a little creaminess and a secondary flavor here. With pineapple on pineapple, this is a one-note snack. Overall Aloha Isle Refreshments remains a go-to snack location in Magic Kingdom, and Dole Whip remains a must-have snack. But we’re surprised by how much we enjoyed the coconut soft-serve here, and recommend that if you’ve always stuck with the classic pineapple, you try the coconut at least once. The standouts here were the Pineapple Upside-down Cake and the soft-serve cups. The floats are good, too, but there’s a little too much there to finish. They would be great to share, thought! Nosh or Not? Stop by Aloha Isle Refreshments for a treat if you … Are looking for a frozen treat on a hot day. Want a classic Disney snack. Love tropical flavors. You can skip Aloha Isle Refreshments if you … Do not like pineapple, coconut, and other tropical flavors. Have already tried Dole Whip and don’t think it’s a must-have on every trip. 21. Spring is just around the corner, and so is another holiday for Disney to celebrate! St. Patrick’s Day Cone at Swirls On The Water We were already anticipating a few new treats and snacks to debut for Spring, Easter, and St. Patrick’s Day and we decided it was time to take advantage of the warmer weather and set out to Disney Springs to try a few! And believe us when we say we’re SO glad we did! It’s finally March and Disney World has started releasing a whole lineup of treats to celebrate the upcoming St. Patrick’s Day holiday. We decided to spend an afternoon out at Disney Springs to visit Swirls on the Water and try out their latest lineup of treats New treats! They’ve released so many new seasonal treats that it’s almost a complete menu switch, so, naturally, we couldn’t say no to a few sweet offerings and decided (for the sake of research) we’d take one for the team. Here’s a breakdown of everything we tried! First up, we tried out the latest Dole Whip Sampler for $7.99. This dole whip flight came with three combinations of pineapple-flavored Dole whip swirled with vanilla soft-serve and garnished with a pineapple wedge, pistachio and chocolate soft-serve swirled together, and banana and toasted marshmallow swirled together to complete the flavor trio. This one is made of banana soft serve and toasted marshmallow soft serve swirled in a waffle bowl with caramel sauce, banana whipped cream, and topped with caramel-coated crisp pearls. We’re NOT joking when we tell you this was hands down our favorite flavor we’ve ever tried here to this point! If you had the pleasure of trying out the bananas foster milkshake at Magic Kingdom during Celebrate Soulfully last month, we’re calling this its sequel! Bananas Foster Sundae This banana-flavored soft serve is so creamy against the whipped cream that has a hint of banana flavor to it too. The banana pieces are completely covered in the caramel foster but they’re not as big (or as fresh) as we had in the shake — which turned out to be our only gripe with this treat. Could eat our weight’s worth of this stuff The extra caramel drizzle with the caramel-coated crisp pearls just hammered the caramel flavor home and we really appreciated that this was presented to us in a regular bowl with the waffle bowl to keep it from getting too messy. At first glance, you may feel like you could take this one on by yourself but you could soon discover that you probably could have split it between two people fairly easily. Overall, we think Swirls On The Water knocked it out of the park with their latest release of treats and we’re excited to see what they come up with next! 22. It might seem too early to say this, but the 2024 hurricane season is nearly upon us. Magic Kingdom during Hurricane Idalia 2023 Each year Florida prepares for its annual hurricane season, and naturally, this year is no different. Disney World is always prepared during a hurricane and typically makes your stay in one of the hotels fun and memorable (as well as safe, of course). But there are some differences between this year and other years in terms of predictions and outlook for what’s to come. Eric Burris, the chief meteorologist of WESH News, shared his insight into the predictions for the coming season, and how this year may be different from the recent past. WESH News began making hurricane predictions several years ago, and last year (2023), Eric Burris was able to accurately predict how all named storms went and when they made it to the land. He predicts “hot spots” based on past patterns of weather. You can see the 2023 predictions made along with the storms that rolled through below. ©WESH For the predictions this year, Burris began using a program in October and November of 2023 that runs through weather patterns in the area. Based on the data this system gathered, Burris has given us a look at the predicted hot spots for the upcoming hurricane season. The red shows the hot spots — areas that could potentially see impact from hurricanes. ©WESH Burris indicated that most of the weather that Florida has been experiencing this winter has seen some commonalities, it’s starting in the Gulf of Mexico and moving E or NE. He shared that the Gulf now in March has temperatures that are typical of May, indicating that the warm waters may have a big influence on this year’s weather and hurricanes. ©WESH These flow patterns and hot spot predictions are showing the greatest threat Burris has forecast since he began these long-range outlooks. So what’s the big difference this year? La Niña. The past El Niño patterns have pushed down tropical weather, but now that we’re moving into a La Niña year, tropical storms and weather patterns are gaining momentum. This year could see stronger and more frequent storms. ©WESH This year, Burris is predicting return dates for South Florida to be May 19th through 24th, July 5th through 10th, and August 21st through 27th. ©WESH There are potential return dates for the Gulf Coast to the low Carolina coastline of June 10th through 25th, August 6th through 12th, and September 22nd through 29th. ©WESH The possible return dates for the low Gulf Coast of Florida are June 3rd through 7th, July 20th through 24th, and September 4th through 9th. ©WESH It’s important to remember that these are all predictions, and Mother Nature will take the lead as we get closer to summer. But use this information to help you prepare for any upcoming trips to Disney World! Always be prepared for rainy weather in Florida and know that with La Niña coming in later this year, it may be rainy than normal. Don’t forget to pack umbrellas and ponchos. 23. Toto, we’re not in Disney World anymore. ©Phantasialand This ride is nothing like the rides we see at Disney World. While we’ve been seeing some thrill rides being added to the parks, nothing that we’ve seen at Magic Kingdom can stack up to this theme park attraction we just found. It truly looks so thrilling, but also terrifying, depending on who you ask. Let’s take a trip and see what this new theme park ride is all about (although you can’t blame us if we actually keep our eyes closed the whole time — we’re scared!)! We’re heading over to Phantasialand in Germany (no, not the one in World Showcase) — to see what their ride, Talocan, is all about. This ride came on our radar when the theme park posted a TikTok about it — and we haven’t been able to stop thinking about it since. This ride looks thrilling, terrifying, and extreme. For some, this ride could be a nightmare, but to others — this could be a thrill ride from their dreams. Talocan is a suspended top spin ride that opened in the park in 2007. Since then, it has been delivering thrills to any of the parkgoers who dare to get on. ©Phantasialand Why is this ride so extreme? Well, it puts guests back to back and spins around on its own axis — and has a TON of random sequences it can put you through, so no ride is ever the same. Plus, throughout the ride, you’ll see (and feel) water and fire coming towards you. How thrillingly terrifying is that?! ©Phantasialand Not only is the ride concept thrilling, but the theming has blown us away! Talocan is themed to be an Aztec temple and features a lot of elements and some myths of Mexico. Throughout the ride, you’ll be hearing from Tlāloc, the god of rain, in your ear. Who knows what he might say! ©Phantasialand The idea of going on a ride that spins you upside down and features fire bursts and water fountains is something we’re going to have to think about for a while. While we decide our feelings about wanting to ride it, we’re also keeping our eyes open for any Disney news! Keep checking in with us to see what we find next! 24. When it comes to Disney World, there are a few things that fans argue about. EPCOT Which Magic Kingdom fireworks show is best? What’s the proper order to do the Disney World parks? Monorail or ferry boat? But by far the most popular debate we’ve heard over the years has to do with EPCOT. Should you start your World Showcase trip in Canada or Mexico? For years, people have debated the best strategy for eating and drinking “around the world” in EPCOT. Start in Mexico with margaritas and tacos? Or start in Canada with poutine and beer? It’s the age-old argument. However, one big addition in the EPCOT area has changed the whole debate! Mexico pavilion in EPCOT International Gateway has long been considered EPCOT’s “secret” back entrance that was used mostly by people staying in the EPCOT resort area. Those hotels include Yacht Club, Beach Club, BoardWalk Inn, and the Swan and Dolphin Resorts. However, in 2019, the International Gateway got a big change that significantly increased traffic! International Gateway In 2019, the Disney Skyliner station opened at International Gateway, meaning that now, hotel guests from the Riviera Resort, Caribbean Beach Resort, Pop Century Resort, and Art of Animation Resort could all enter the park through the back gate easily. This update means that most people from those hotels are starting midway through World Showcase instead of at the front of the park. Disney World Skyliner For those hotel guests, it’s no longer a debate of whether you should start in Mexico or Canada — it’s a debate of whether to turn left out of International Gateway and start in the UK Pavilion or to turn right and start in France! And for many, the decision is more obvious. Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure The France Pavilion is home to Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure, which is an incredibly popular ride, so it’s beneficial to head there first thing in the morning before the line gets long. France also has the delicious Les Halles Boulangerie-Patisserie and Crêpes a Emporter, which are great choices for breakfast. So nowadays, we’re seeing more and more people kicking off their World Showcase adventures in France! France Pavilion in EPCOT If you’re hoping to eat and drink around the world and you’re starting from International Gateway, some of the more popular choices in France are treats from Les Halles (like the baguette, the lobster bisque, or a delicious pastry) and the Grand Marnier Orange Slush from Les Vins de Chefs de France. If Les Vins isn’t open for the day yet, there are several beverage options at both Les Halles and Crêpes a Emporter. Grand Marnier Slush Now that the Skyliner has changed things up a bit, do you think we’ll see this classic EPCOT debate change? Where do you start in the World Showcase? Make sure to tell us in the comments! In the meantime, stay tuned to DFB for all the EPCOT news and tips. 24 Snacks You Need in Disney World in 2024 — Click Here! The Disney California Adventure Food and Wine Festival celebrates the bounty of California with food, beverages, and special events. This year’s fest runs from March 1st through April 22nd, which means you’ve got over a month to check out the best this festival has to offer. Speaking of which, we’re bringing you our BEST of the 2024 DCA Food & Wine Festival! It wouldn’t be a true Disney festival unless we were there to try allllllll the NEW eats and some returning favorites, too! Since we’ve tried everything, we feel pretty confident about bringing you our BEST of the 2024 Disney California Adventure — so get ready, ’cause it’s time to dig in! BEST New Items for 2024 Impossible Beef Stroganoff at Earth Eats The IMPOSSIBLE Beef Stroganoff for $9 comes with egg noodles tossed in a mushroom cream sauce with IMPOSSIBLE beef and sour cream. Now, that’s a lot of stuff to convert to a plant-based diet, so how does it hold up? IMPOSSIBLE Beef Stroganoff This was EXCELLENT. We thought it could use more of the creamy sauce, but that’s a minor detail we can overlook. The mushrooms are the star, though, and the flavors aren’t too bold for a stroganoff. It’s like an upgraded beef stroganoff, and it’s nice to see Disney really making some vegetarian options that are SO good. Check out our full review of Earth Eats here! Watermelon Cucumber Mojito at Earth Eats The Watermelon Cucumber Mojito for $17 is made with white rum, watermelon liqueur, mojito and cucumber syrups, watermelon purée, and lime juice, topped with Topo Chico and garnished with a watermelon spear with Tajín twist. This sounds like a Cancun beach vacation converted into a drink — so obviously, we had HIGH expectations for it! Watermelon-Cucumber Mojito We’re happy to report that this drink EXCEEDED our expectations. It is SO refreshing, even with the tajin kick. The watermelon flavor is what you mostly taste, meaning this is the perfect summer drink. There’s just a hint of cucumber, so it only adds a little bit of flavor. However, you do need to be okay with a bit of spice to enjoy it. Check out our full review of Earth Eats here! Shrimp Papas Locas at Peppers Cali-Ente The Shrimp Papas Locas are made with cheddar-bacon potatoes, jalapeño cheese sauce, and chipotle shrimp. You can snag it for $8.75. Shrimp Papas Locas We’re SO glad that this new item earned a spot on the menu! It had such GREAT flavors! The shrimp was cooked to perfection and the salsa on top added the perfect freshness to balance out the potatoes with cheese sauce. Speaking of cheese, there was a lot of it, and we certainly weren’t mad about it. We would gladly order this dish again: it packs a TON of flavor! Read our full review of Peppers Cali-Ente here! Peach Cobbler Cocktail at Golden Dreams The new Peach Cobbler Cocktail for $17 is made with moonshine, peach and amaretto liqueur, peach nectar, condensed milk, vanilla and cinnamon syrups, and lemon juice garnished with frozen peaches. Honestly, if Southern hospitality and charm could be concentrated into a cocktail, this might be it! Peach Cobbler Cocktail It basically tastes like a boozy peach cobbler. That sweet peach flavor is the most prominent, and the cinnamon gives it that rich dessert taste. The moonshine in this drink makes it pretty strong, but all the sweet, fruity flavors make the drink go down smoothly. This was a WINNER — we loved this one. See our full Golden Dreams review here! Kiwi-Apple Lemonade at Cluck-a-Doodle-Moo The non-alcoholic Kiwi-Apple Lemonade, which is $7, is made with Minute Maid Lemonade and apple juice together with kiwi and Granny Smith apple syrups. It’s all garnished with a lovely purple orchid! Non-alcoholic Kiwi-Apple Lemonade Um, YUM! This was absolutely delicious! It looks as good as it tastes — our drink was super refreshing, and the flavors work so well together. Read our full Cluck-a-Doodle-Moo review here! Raspberry Almond Cake at Uncork California This is a new item this year and is simple, classic, and elegant — just what you’d expect from a wine booth. It’s an almond cake with raspberry mousse and fresh raspberries. We thought it tasted almost like a muffin top with delicious raspberry flavor sprinkled throughout! The cake was dense but very moist, and the mousse on top was fresh and tart. The raspberry flavor really shines through. Raspberry Almond Cake You can pick this treat up for $7.50. Read our full review of Uncork California here! Cheeseburger Bao at California Craft Brews The Cheeseburger Bao for $8.50 comes with Thousand Island dressing, grilled onions, pickle, and tomato relish. We were super excited to see this menu item because we LOVE the Cheeseburger Pods at Satu’li Canteen in Disney World, and this is giving us some strong Cheeseburger Pod vibes…so does it measure up? Cheeseburger Bao This cheeseburger pod is essentially a Big Mac in a bao bun, and that’s what we love about it! We really enjoyed the grilled onions inside which added great flavor. The bun is thick, but light in taste. If you love a good Big Mac, you’ll really enjoy this cheeseburger bao. Check out our full review of California Craft Brews here! Frozen Mangonada Beer Slush at California Craft Brews The Frozen Mangonada Beer Slush for $18 is made with Brewery X Baja Boi, mango purée, rock melon syrup, grapefruit juice, and mango-chamoy glaze. Frozen Mangonada Beer Slush This bad boy is BIG. It might be your best bang for your buck at this booth and maybe at the festival in general. It is a refreshing play on a true mangonada. The beer flavor is hidden by the mango and chamoy, and overall the flavors are well-balanced. It would be a great pick for a hot day! Check out our full review of California Craft Brews here! Big Bad BBQ Pulled Pork Mac & Cheese at Nuts About Cheese The Big Bad BBQ Pulled Pork Mac and Cheese for $9 sports BBQ pulled pork and macaroni and cheese, and it’s topped with crispy dill pickle onions. We found it to be VERY tasty. The pork is cooked nicely and tastes great on its own. It’s seasoned well and the tangy barbecue adds a very pleasant sweetness. Big Bad BBQ Pulled Pork Mac & Cheese with crispy dill pickle onions The macaroni and cheese is creamy, delicious, and everything that good mac should be. Just make sure to get EVERYTHING in one bite to get a true explosion of flavor. (That might sound CHEESY but it’s true. ) $9 for mac and cheese is wild, but dare we say that this is worth it? Read our full review of Nuts About Cheese here! Olive Oil Cake at D-Lish The Olive Oil Cake for $7 is glazed with lemon curd, topped with vanilla bean Chantilly, and finished with fresh candied lemons, strawberry crunch, and lemon-lime gelée. Olive Oil Cake This cake has so much wonderful flavor with a mix of tart and sweetness. It’s refreshing and really tastes like spring. The cake is dense but moist. The vanilla bean Chantilly cream is light and airy and adds just an extra hint of sweetness. Confession time: we couldn’t stop eating this cake. Yes, D-Lish, we WILL be back. Check out our full review of D-Lish here. Huckleberry Citrus Cooler at D-Lish The Huckleberry-Citrus Cooler for $7 is non-alcoholic but still gives us those “treat yo’self” vibes. It is made with Gold Peak Black Tea, huckleberry and agave syrups, grapefruit soda, and lemon and orange juices garnished with an orange wedge. Perhaps the perfect drink to sip on while you are in a rocking chair on your front porch watching the sunset. Huckleberry Citrus Cooler It really is delicious and so refreshing. You get a nice tart lemonade flavor, but it’s still on the sweeter side. Both flavors balance each other out, though. We’re thinking this drink might be SUPER popular. Check out our full review of D-Lish here. BEST Returning Items for 2024 There weren’t a ton of returning bests this year, mostly just because there were so many new dishes at the 2024 festival! But there were definitely a couple of stand-outs that we have to mention. Carbonara-Garlic Mac & Cheese at D-Lish This dish moved to D-Lish from Garlic Kissed this year! The Carbonara Mac and Cheese is cheesy, crunchy, rich, and has tons of flavor thanks to the garlic and the bacon. You can grab it for $9. Carbonara Garlic Mac & Cheese featuring Nueske’s Peppered Bacon If you’re a mac and cheese aficionado or just can’t get enough garlic, give this one a try. Check out our full review of D-Lish here. BBQ Beef Brisket Slider at Cluck-a-Doodle-Moo We loved the BBQ Beef Brisket Slider at Cluck-a-Doodle-Moo. This slider features Fiscalini Farmstead Smoked Cheddar with dill pickles on salt & pepper on brioche. This slider is $9. BBQ Beef Brisket Slider with smoked white cheddar and dill pickles on salt and pepper brioche This is a GREAT sandwich. We got a generous portion of brisket, and we loved the smoked cheddar flavor that accompanied the meat. The pickles on the sandwich gave a nice crunch. The salt and pepper brioche bun was soft and fresh and complimented the brisket perfectly. Check out our full review of Cluck-a-Doodle Moo here.
