  1. Disney is holding out hope that shareholders will vote in their favor at the upcoming annual meeting. ©Disney | Walt Disney Company Headquarters The Walt Disney Company is in the middle of a proxy battle with activist investor, Nelson Peltz, who is petitioning to get a seat on the Company’s Board of Directors. Disney and CEO Bob Iger have urged stock owners to vote against Peltz using the help of cartoon allies and Walt Disney’s grandchildren. But, it’s the shareholders who could end up being the winners in this battle. Disney shareholders could cash in on the proxy battle, according to Business Insider. Amid the chaos, investors are being enticed by online auctions in which they can sell their proxy votes. The marketplace is called the Shareholder Vote Exchange and one bidder on the site is offering as much as $100,000 for 500,000 proxy votes, which amounts to $0.20 per vote. Walt Disney Company Headquarters ©LA Times Individual investors own more than one-third of Disney’s 1.8 billion shares, more than the typical company. Cofounder and chief operating officer of Shareholder Vote Exchange, Steven Xu, confirmed the bid was from a current shareholder. Trian and Blackwells have not responded to requests on whether or not one of them is the bidder in question. ©Getty Images Despite being on shaky ethical ground, buying shareholder votes is legal. This marketplace, in particular, advertises itself as being a way for “regular” investors to generate income by monetizing shareholder votes. Ultimately, though, there’s no guarantee that the marketplace will have an impact on the Disney board vote. ©Trian Partners Disney has previously stated that “the Board does NOT endorse the nominations of Nelson Peltz and James Rasulo put forth by Trian Fund Management, L.P. and its affiliates, led by Nelson Peltz and supported by former Disney executive Isaac Perlmutter (collectively, the “Trian Group”).” The notice went on to say, “The Board recommends that shareholders do not vote for the Trian Group nominees and that they reject a related proposal from the Trian Group to amend the Company Bylaws.” Disney also made it clear that the Board “does not endorse the nominations of Craig Hatkoff, Jessica Schell and Leah Solivan put forth for election as directors by Blackwells Onshore I LLC, Blackwells Capital LLC and Jason Aintabi (collectively, the “Blackwells Group”).” ©Disney We’ll have to wait and see what will end up happening at the annual shareholders meeting on April 3rd, but in the meantime, stay tuned to DFB for the latest Disney news. 2. If you love The Family Madrigal, we’ve got some BIG news to share with you. Mirabel Now, we already know that Disney has spoken about including Encanto in the retheme of DinoLand U.S.A. in Disney’s Animal Kingdom. You can also meet Mirabel in Magic Kingdom now and see Bruno in the Disney Adventure Friends Cavalcade. Well, it looks like Encanto is coming to Disney World in ANOTHER way. The Disney Auditions site is currently holding a casting call for local talent for a “new experience celebrating Disney’s animated film, Encanto.” It is listed, though, as a limited-time offering, but the listing says it will be performed live at Disney World. So what could it be? It sounds like a show, right? ©Disney The audition notice says Disney is looking for “Two male or female-presenting hosts who sing, demonstrate exceptional storytelling, and, most importantly, can captivate the audience with their infectious and high-energy personalities.” It also sounds like Disney prefers actors who are bilingual and have comedy chops. Bruno! So if this IS a show, what kind of show could it be? Maybe something like an Encanto sing-along? (Seriously, SIGN US UP.) Or is it something else? Also, it’s only a limited-time experience, so does that mean this might be something seasonal, like for around fall and Halloween time? Also, WHERE is this experience going to be? We have SO many questions. ©Disney We can gather that if they’re seeking two hosts and not character lookalikes, we won’t likely be seeing performances by Encanto characters, but something else. We have questions, DISNEY! You can’t tease us like this!!! We’ll keep an eye out for more details about this mysterious Encanto show coming to Disney World, and share with you when we have more information. So stay tuned to DFB for more. 3. It’s no secret that we get excited about Disney World food, especially NEW Disney World food. Sanaa We’ve had a TON of that already, too, what with Women’s History Month bringing us all kinds of female-forward snacks, while the green dye has come out for loads of St. Patrick’s Day treats. We’ve also got bunny butt snacks and other treats to look forward to for Easter. Now, though, one of our FAVORITE Disney World restaurants has revealed some brand new desserts! Over at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge is Sanaa, a restaurant we LOVE. Now, we know that everyone goes there for that AMAZING bread service, BUT you might want to visit Sanaa for some brand new desserts, too. That includes the Giraffe Tower Mousse made with Banana cake, peanut butter mousse, banana mousse, and caramel with Tanzanian peanut brittle crunch. YUM. ©Disney There’s also a new ice cream dessert, the Black Sesame Sundae made with Black sesame ice cream, roasted spiced pineapple, tea caramel, milk crumble, and raspberry crisps. Sounds amazing, right? ©Disney The Wilde-best Wildebeest may have the best dessert name EVER. It’s made with flourless chocolate cake, milk chocolate custard, and chocolate fudge-coated cocoa nibs. ©Disney The Ankole Cake is a Spiced chocolate cake, baobab curd, coconut gel, meringue ‘horns,’ STARR African Rum-macerated citrus. Also, can we just talk about the presentation of these desserts? A PLUS, Disney! ©Disney There’s even a dessert that is SURE to please your little ones or picky eaters. Timon’s Grub is made with Banana pastry cream, whipped cream, sliced bananas, graham cracker bugs, gummy worms, and chocolate rocks. Timon would certainly approve! ©Disney So be sure to make that advance dining reservation at Sanaa (trust us, it’s worth leaving the parks for) to try out some new sweet treats. 4. I travel to Disney World SO many times a year that I can’t even keep count. No, seriously! Cinderella Castle I’m lucky in the sense that I have a very strange, very cool job working here at DFB. This job just so happens to result in me sitting on an airplane somewhere between Texas and Orlando A LOT. If I had to guess, I’d say I visit Disney World maybe 20 times a year? But I’d have to do some serious math to figure it out! Anyway, today I’m spilling a major secret with you. You’ve maybe heard the words “boyfriend air” floating ominously somewhere online, but I’m here to scare you with two new phenomena — theme park air and airplane air. Traveling can be SO harsh on your skin, but don’t panic –I’m here to save the day with a few recommendations! DISCLOSURE: This post may contain affiliate links, meaning when you click the links and make a purchase, we receive a commission. No one should be panicking over a breakout in that iconic Cinderella Castle pic they paid a gazillion dollars to get! Here are four of my favorite skincare products that have totally saved my skin! Salicylic Acid Daily Gentle Cleanser My favorite cleanser–-ESPECIALLY for removing makeup after a day in Disney World! The first step in my skincare routine may be avant garde, but I highly suggest finding a friend who’s more into skincare than you and then copying their routine. (Yes, that’s step one!!) Everyone has different skin types and different products that will work for them, but I stayed in one of those amazing Royal Rooms recently at Disney’s Port Orleans Resort-Riverside with DFB Milly. I tried out her recommend products, and upon seeing the noticeable difference in my skin despite our differing skin types, IMMEDIATELY stocked up! Luckily, step one’s complete because I’ll be that friend for you! The first thing I want to do after a long flight is wash my face and get rid of that dirty airplane air feeling (you know the one)! This cleanser seems to instantly brighten my face and make me feel SO much better. It helps get rid of that oily, dirty feeling and makes me feel like I have a cleaner, better version of my normal skin. My real skin, but better! It especially does the job after a loooong day in the parks where you’re sweating in the Orlando sun! Grab it from Amazon Dr. Jart+ Ceramidin Liquid Moisturizing Toner I am nothing without this toner. Listen, take it from me — toner will CHANGE your life! It’s difficult to find the right one when you’re new to the idea of balancing out and protecting your skin. A lot of toners feel … alcoholic. They can feel very sterile and drying, and I don’t like that feeling! Who would? This toner is a moisturizing toner, so it feels very soft and luxurious and makes my skin feel happy rather than stripped of nutrients. It really gives your skin that glow that you want from skincare! Grab it from Amazon Dr. Jart Ceramidin Cream Dry skin’s worst enemy OKAY, Y’ALL! THIS is the kind of product that you cut open with scissors when you’re running out of it and keep scraping your money’s worth out of. It’s that good. This moisturizing cream acts as a barrier for your skin and really locks in that moisture! It’s the perfect base for the rest of my skincare and makeup routine. Grab it from Amazon Dr.G Medi UV Ultra Up Sun Plus, SPF 50+ PA+++ 50ml If nothing else, let this be the one thing you take to Disney World! Forget your packing cubes, Minnie Ears, Google searches of “what shoes should I be wearing to Disney World” … THIS is the most important thing you should be thinking about when planning your Disney vacay. SPF. That Orlando sun is NO JOKE! Especially in EPCOT, which seems to take a firm stance against shade via trees. This SPF has been my tried and true sunscreen. Sunscreen can feel oily, icky, and all sorts of things nobody wants to feel ever, especially in Disney World. This sunscreen does not do any of those evil, sabotaging things! It doesn’t break me out, it doesn’t create a white cast, and it leaves me feeling refreshed and glowy! There’s no tint to it — it’s white — but it perfectly blends into my skin. Grab it from Amazon And there you have it! I like to keep it simple and let my skin be skin! Of course, the most important product is the product that works for YOU, and the product that you’ll actually use. This is just what works for me! Be sure to follow along for more Disney advice and news so that you’re always in the loop! Looking for more Disney essentials I love? 5. It’s a new month in Disney World — and you know what that means! Salt & Straw Well, the month of March is Women’s History Month, so we’re already trying out some new women-inspired treats in Disney World. Plus St. Patrick’s Day snacks have arrived. PLUS Easter snacks are everywhere, too. Best month ever? Well, there’s also something else to look forward to this month: new cupcake and ice cream flavors in Disney Springs. So Salt & Straw is known for its unusual ice cream flavors, and the month of March is all about Cereal! Yep, that breakfast staple is being made into Cereal-sly Delicious ice cream. The Pots of Gold & Rainbows has returned this year. This is a flavor based on Lucky Charms with whole-grain cereal made into cream with sweetened milk with rainbow marshmallows stirred in. ©Salt & Straw You can also get the Peanut Butter Brownie Cereal Puffs ice cream, made with chocolate and sweet cream churned together and then marbled with a mixture of peanut butter. This ice cream is made with Pandan combined with OffLimits Zombie Pandan cereal in a buttery glaze folded into ice cream flavored with coconut and muscovado. These flavors are available through April 4th at Salt & Straw in Disney World and Disneyland. ©Salt & Straw Now, let’s head on over to Sprinkles in Disney Springs at Disney World to see what cupcake flavors are baking this month! The Cookie Cupcake is returning. It’s a Chocolate chip studded yellow cake lined with a cookie crust, topped with brown sugar frosting, and dusted with cookie crumbles. You can grab this cupcake through March 10th. ©Sprinkles Celebrate all things Barbie with the Barbie Pink Velvet Cupcake, made with pink velvet cake with a white chocolate ganache core topped with pink cream cheese frosting and a Barbie decoration. 6. You may think you have your go-to spot for a quick bite in Magic Kingdom, but we’re here to challenge that idea a bit. Caramel Apple-Pecan Hand Pie Deciding on just where to eat on a day out at the park can be tough, especially if you just want something that’s pretty basic, quick, and won’t sit too heavy on your stomach. While we’ve had some great light bites and sweet treats to try out here recently, sometimes you just want a full meal to keep you satisfied, and we may have found the perfect option for you! Strolling through Fantasyland in Magic Kingdom can feel like no man’s land for food sometimes. Sure we’ve got places to try out for food like Pinocchio’s Village Haus that’s nearby or even a neighboring stop at Storybook Treats for a quick ice cream treat. However, we were really in the mood for more of a meal and didn’t want to stop for too long or wait around to get a table inside at Pinocchio Village Haus so we settled for a meal at The Friar’s Nook. The Friar’s Nook “Settled” is an interesting choice of words here, isn’t it? We pass by this particular restaurant in Magic Kingdom all the time, but it’s not a spot we really feel like we need to stop! So, recently on a sunnier day than we had been having, we decided to take a quick break from our regular park walk to stop by and pick up a meal. Atmosphere This is a quick service restaurant and mostly is just a “hole in the wall” place. The counter is built right into the side of the wall, and you’ll walk up to the line to place an order or place it using My Disney Experience’s mobile order feature. (If you haven’t used mobile order before, we really recommend it! You can read all about it right here!) This place is almost hidden Once you’ve placed your order, you may notice a small self-service utensil and condiments stand just off to the side of the ordering counter. Self-serve utensils and condiments Once you’ve grabbed your order you’ll want to be quick or scope out a spot in advance because the only seating for this restaurant can be found outdoors and is fairly limited to round tables. This becomes very crowded throughout the day, and if you’re placing an order at a peak dining time, you may find yourself eating a bit further away from where you originally planned. Menu The menu here is fairly basic and will mainly consist of various versions of hot dogs, tots, and one dessert option… Main entrees … but you’ll also find a small selection of beverages, sodas, water, and a few kids’ meal options. Menu board This is the menu you’ll find when you walk up to the counter, but there is a smaller menu near where you walk by outside of the restaurant that will give you a teaser of what’s available. We happened to visit at lunch, but this restaurant does serve a separate menu for breakfast options, too. Drinks We decided to order a ginormous meal, so of course we needed something to wash it down with. We opted for the Strawberry Lemonade Slush which cost us $6.49. Strawberry Lemonade Slush This drink tastes like a Minute Maid strawberry lemonade drink. It’s a bit tangy or tart like you would anticipate out of the Minute Maid lemonade but mixing it against the strawberry helps balance that bite down a bit. We really enjoyed this drink and questioned why we hadn’t ordered this one as a quick snack to walk around with more often. This drink could make a great “cool down” drink for someone on a super hot day. The only fault we could find with it was that it melts pretty quickly, and this particular day wasn’t terribly hot — so you’ll want to watch for that when you order one because ours came filled to the brim. Eats Then it was time to turn our attention to the food! We ordered several of the entree items which included the Curry Brat Tots, Bacon Mac & Cheese Hot Dog, and for dessert, we settled on the Caramel Apple-Pecan Hand Pie. Our full meal So, let’s break this down one by one starting with the Curry Brat Tots first. These are tots topped with chopped bratwurst, curry ketchup, and apple slaw for $11.49. Curry Brat Tots The curry ketchup is what really sets this dish apart! The bratwurst pieces are soft and meaty, and the crunch of the slaw against the crunch of the tots topped in the curry ketchup (which you can smell before it hits your mouth) is excellent! I was a bit nervous about trying this one because I’m not a huge curry fan, but it tasted great mixed in with the ketchup. A quick bite The curry is mixed in really thoroughly and although you can smell it, it’s a very mild taste. We also wouldn’t be mad if Disney decided to offer the curry ketchup as a standalone condiment like our beloved plastic cheese sauce. Next up it was time to try out the Bacon Mac & Cheese Hot Dog. This entree is served just as it sounds with a side of tots for $12.79. Bacon Mac & Cheese Hot Dog This is a pretty popular version of hot dog for Disney. The hot dog is thicker like a Nathan’s dog, and the bread is nice and soft (until it’s sat out for a bit). Cross section of the hot dog The mac and cheese is creamy, and while we were concerned this would be super messy to eat — it held together surprisingly well! The bacon bits are thicker cut without a lot of fat to them. But we’re not done with this dish just yet. We’ve still got to talk about the tots. TOTS! There’s nothing super special about these tots. There’s not a ton of flavor to them besides a very distinct potato taste but we appreciated that they weren’t overly salty or greasy. So soft Finally, it was time for something sweet, so we were able to try out the Caramel Apple-Pecan Hand Pie for $5.99. This sweet treat is made of the hand pie drizzled with vanilla custard. Caramel Apple-Pecan Hand Pie We LOVED this thing! The apple chunks are like what you would find in those apple pie pizzas and it has the cinnamon gel surrounding it like baked cinnamon apples typically have. Inside of the hand pie The caramel and cinnamon sugar outside the crispy crust was just divine. It was just hard enough to hold the pie together, but also fell apart pretty easily when bitten into or cut. Overall Overall, this was actually a meal that surprised us. There were items that we absolutely loved like the Caramel Apple-Pecan Hand Pie, Strawberry Lemonade Slush, and others that we liked elements of like the curry ketchup on the Curry Brat Tots. This meal passed our test Where this meal fell flat for us was the lack of variety because tots are practically the only side served with these entrees here, and your most exciting hot dog choice is the Bacon Mac & Cheese Hot Dog that’s already served at multiple quick service restaurants around other Disney World parks. Nosh or Not? You should stop here to eat if… You really enjoy a weird hot dog! The menu is mostly made of hot dog creations so if you consider yourself a hot dog enthusiast it’s worth trying at least once. You’re looking for something quick and easy. There’s not a lot of fluff to this restaurant’s menu and it won’t keep you in one spot for long making it ideal for a grab-and-go option. You’re over the regular hamburgers and fries. It can feel like you can get a burger and fries almost anywhere in Magic Kingdom, so venture out here and switch it up. We’d recommend stopping for food somewhere else if… You’ve got a picky eater in your party. While there are hot dogs on the menu they’re pretty weird toppings outside of a traditional hot dog and your pickiest eaters may say “no way.” You’re just not that into hot dogs. If a hearty hot dog doesn’t sound like a good choice to you, you’ll do better choosing somewhere else. You’re really looking to eat AND take a break. As we mentioned earlier seating here is VERY limited and the entire restaurant is outdoors. If you’re already burning up and really looking for a place to sit for a while and cool off, this spot won’t be ideal for you. 9. Want to go to Disneyland? Want to go to Disneyland a LOT? Sleeping Beauty Castle in Disneyland Well, if that’s the case, you may want to consider becoming a Magic Key Holder (the Disneyland equivalent of an Annual Pass). Now, these passes are in HIGH demand PLUS Disney only puts them on sale occasionally. However, Magic Key passes went on sale yesterday and we’ve got an update to share with you about that! As of yesterday, all four types of passes were available for purchase. However, as of today, the Imagine Key is completely sold out. When we took a look at the website this morning, we noticed a message stating the following: The Imagine Key is currently available for renewal only. However, the other three passes are still available: Believe Key, Enchant Key, and Inspire Key. ©Disney If you are considering a Magic Key, we recommend going ahead and getting online to grab them. Sales were temporarily paused last night but will start again today at 10AM PT. You’ll need to log in in to your Disneyland account and head to the Magic Key Sales page. You’ll be put into a virtual waiting room. ©Disney Note that you can also submit your email address to get notified when it’s your time to enter the queue. You’ll find that option at the bottom of the virtual queue page. You can then leave the virtual queue and wait for the email, which will also have the link you can use to access the sales page. We’ll be keeping an eye out for other passes selling out (which is likely), so stay tuned to DFB for more. If you’re looking to get your hands on a Magic Key, good luck! 10. Disney CEO Bob Iger had a meeting on March 5th with analysts at the Morgan Stanley Technology, Media, and Telecom Conference. ©Disney In that meeting, Iger discussed a variety of topics concerning the Walt Disney Company. From the theme parks to a new video game universe, Iger explained that the company is officially in the building phase. Within all of the information he discussed, we noticed a quick statement that has gotten our hopes up. During the meeting, Iger mentioned that Disney has enough land for 7 more parks around the world and they are working on 3 new Disney Cruise Line ships. Expansions and cruises are in the future of Disney, as we’ve known since the company put aside $60 billion for it. ©Disney Well, one Disney park resort is currently in the process of getting an expansion and updates — Disneyland Resort. The Disneyland Forward project is working on changing the land use around Disneyland. They’re working to change areas such as parking lots into usable land for entertainment and park experiences. ©Disney While plans are in the works for expansions at the Disneyland Resort, some light was shed on the idea during the meeting. According to Iger, a potential new Avatar land could be coming to Disneyland! Iger stated, “We have one Avatar-based land, Pandora, in Florida. We’re going to put a second one in California.” Similar to what was created in Disney’s Animal Kingdom park in Disney World, could make its way to California. Pandora in Animal Kingdom Not only is he thinking California needs its own Pandora, but he went on to say, “That doesn’t mean we can’t put one somewhere in Asia or somewhere in Europe, for instance.” It sounds like Avatar could be making its way around the globe! 11. Disney Channel Nite is a real thing that officially exists in Disneyland! Yes, really! This one is for all you Kim Possible, Hannah Montana, Phineas & Ferb, and Camp Rock fans, and let us tell you, the event is a total BLAST! ©Disney This nostalgia-based Disneyland After Dark event brought together some of the most cherished Disney Channel entertainment, characters, and photo ops from the ’90s and early 2000s. Let’s take a look at some of the eats that were offered throughout the night and where you could find them! Disney Channel Nite officially kicked off at Disneyland, and with that came some brand-new snacks. During the night’s festivities, you’ll be able to choose from 2 exclusive dining package options at either Cafe Orleans or River Belle Terrace. ©Disney Let’s start by telling you about what you’ll get at Cafe Orleans. For $35 per adult, you’ll be treated to some savory, casual eats with a French Quarter flair at the New Orleans Square restaurant. A regular kids’ meal will be available for little ones, and you can make reservations for this experience between 8 and 11:30PM. Your dining package will include a 3-course, prix fixe meal and a river view that everyone can enjoy. ©Disney You’ll be treated to one entree of your choice, two sides… ©Disney …and a dessert! ©Disney Over at River Belle Terrace, you’ll also be treated to a full-course meal however, your pricing will vary depending on what menu items you choose. You won’t need reservations to enjoy this dining package, either. Just simply walk up and place your order! Here, you’ll be able to sip and eat leisurely through your dining experience with a gorgeous riverfront view. ©Disney This dinner will offer you a choice of one entree, dessert, and beverage with your dining package. ©Disney But there’s a LOT to see and do during Disney Channel Nite, so you might not want to spend your valuable time on a big meal. Luckily, there are PLENTY of treats and snacks available around the park. Make sure to pick up an event guide when you arrive! Look at all these SNACKS! Some of these treats are available to Mobile Order, too, so make sure to download the My Disney Experience app! What are you ordering?! We could spend our entire night eating our way around the park, but there are other things to see and do, people! But we are the Disney Food Blog, after all, so don’t you worry — we tried some exclusive treats you NEED to see. YUM! OK, this first one was a no-brainer. Disney created Loaded Dino Nuggies, which are french fries and dinosaur-shaped nuggets topped with nacho cheese and buffalo ranch sauce, garnished with sliced Fresno chiles, bacon bits, and green onion. You can try it for $12.99! You can get this snack at The Golden Horseshoe or Stage Door Cafe. Dino Nuggies! You had us at Dino Nuggies. These nuggets were warm and cheesy, with a bit of a tangy and spicy flavor from the buffalo ranch. The sliced chiles added a kick of heat, too, so keep that in mind if you’re spice-averse. We’re ready to dig in! The bacon provided a nice, salty addition that mixed perfectly with the cheese. Cheese and bacon? Of course we’re going to like it! That said, the fries here aren’t anything special; they’re just basic quick-service Disney fries. Even the nuggets themselves weren’t exactly the BEST dino nuggs we’ve ever had — they tasted like cheap frozen nuggets. But hey, you probably aren’t ordering this and expecting any chef-quality chicken. At the end of the day, they’re dino nuggets, people. This is making us hungry! Up next, we tried the Bouncing Beary Beignets from the Mint Julep Bar. For $4.99, you can try two Mickey-shaped beignets with blueberry sugar and a berry icing drizzle. Bouncing Beary Beignets Whew — this was interesting. Our beignets tasted JUST. LIKE. a gummy bear, but with the texture of warm beignets. The berry icing drizzle was slightly sour, so if you like sour candy, you might want to try this. Our beignets had a strong berry candy flavor that was a little artificial but didn’t bother us. Again, you probably have a good idea of what you’re getting here. This isn’t the place for a gourmet beignet. We’re here to celebrate our inner child! How fun! We’re covering everything that’s going on at Disneyland’s Disney Channel Nite so be sure to stay tuned with us at Disney Food Blog for all of the exciting events from the night! 5 UPDATES Hiding in the NEW MAP of Disneyland’s $1.9 Billion Expansion Want to Learn More About Disneyland? 12. Changes are inevitable, but are they always good? Are you ready for the changes? Sure, Disney World has always had to change and grow over the years, and that’s true about any industry really. But we wanted to find out what your thoughts were about the changes that haven’t had the most positive impact on your Disney World vacations. We asked and boy, did you deliver! We reached out to our followers on Facebook to ask: “What Disney World change has had the biggest NEGATIVE impact on your vacation?” The results were pretty varied. We had quite a few people leave their opinions in the comments! What do you think? Now, let’s dive into the results! 1. Discontinuing FastPasses We have a clear winner here. The vast majority of you expressed a deep disappointment with Disney World for discontinuing FastPasses, and greatly prefer them to the new system. (Hundreds of you made this response. Basically, too many to count.) It’s Tough to be a Bug These two responses sum up those feelings best: “Much preferred when everyone had 3 fast passes for free” and “Loved the old Fast Pass system and getting to schedule those rides ahead of time!” FastPass FastPass made its debut at Disney World in 1999 as a free way to skip the lines in Disney World. Certain rides had FastPass machines out front. You would scan your Disney World ticket, and a piece of paper with a return time was printed. You could then return to a special, much shorter line for the ride during that return time. Eventually, FastPasses went digital, and you were able to book a few of them in advance of your trip to help plan your days. FastPass Entrance at Seven Dwarfs Mine Train FastPass did not return when Disney World re-opened after the pandemic-related closure in 2020. Instead, Disney introduced Genie+ — a digital “skip the line” program that offers many of the same benefits of FastPass, but instead of the free service, Genie+ currently costs between $20 and $39 per day. And speaking of Genie+ … 2. Genie+ In second place, and in the same vein as our first one, you say Genie+ has wrecked your vacations. (Hundreds of you responded this way.) Genie+ These two responses sum up those feelings perfectly: “Getting up before 7 to schedule a first ride for Genie + or attempt to get virtual rides.” and “Genie ended our annual passes and park attendance. We use our DVC now as a resort-only stay.” 3. Removing Magical Express In third place, and this one hurt, we found that you were affected by Disney’s decision to remove Magical Express (about 165 of you). Remember Magical Express? I think this comment sums it up: “The loss of the Magical Express!! That just started you right off with Disney vacation vibes!!” Also, this one is perfect: “Magical express and luggage delivery! It used to feel so magical when hopping on the plane. Hearing “Have a magical day” Inside a Magical Express Bus In case you never had this magical experience, Magical Express was a free service for Disney resort guests that provided transportation to and from Orlando International Airport, and luggage handling. You didn’t even have to go to baggage claim and wait for your suitcases. You tagged them before you left home, and when you landed, you hopped on a bus. Your luggage would show up in your hotel room later. That’s magic if we’ve ever heard it! We miss you, Magical Express! This service ended at the end of 2022, so now you have to arrange your own transportation and pay to get from the airport to Disney World. You have the options of taking private transportation — like a taxi, rideshare, or the Mears Connect Driven by Sunshine bus service, or renting a car. 4. Taking Away Extra Magic Hours for All Resort Guests A fair number of you expressed a mix of emotions about the change Disney implemented to end Extra Magic Hours and restrict Extended Evening Hours to only those in Deluxe resorts (About 75 of you). TWO sets of Extra Magic Hours for Magic Kingdom on some dates One of you mentioned: “Extra magic evening hours for Fancy resorts only! ” Also, you mentioned this too: “I miss we had a choice of extra magic hours in the morning or evening.” Magic Kingdom Extra Magic Hours were available to guests of any Disney World hotel, and were offered before the park opened and after the park closed on different days for different parks. For example, on any given day you may have had the option of entering Magic Kingdom an hour before it officially opened for the day, or staying in EPCOT two hours after is closed. This perk allowed you to be in the parks with fewer guests, and therefore, shorter lines. Extra Magic Hours were put “on hold” by Disney during the pandemic-related closures in 2020. Eventually, a similar program of Early Theme Park Entry — hotel guests can enter any park 30 minutes early any (and every) day of their stay — and Extended Evening Hours — hotel guests get extra hours in certain parks on certain nights — was introduced. EPCOT after dark But there was one major change to the Extended Evening Hours — they are only available to people staying in Disney World’s DELUXE hotels. If you’re staying in a lower-priced moderate or value resort, the only “extra” time you get in the parks is in the morning — and that’s what people miss! 14. Disney Adults are part of quite a community! Welcome to the Magic Kingdom! We relate to many things that others might not understand. Here are five things that are totally normal to Disney Adults but might be weird to everyone else. How many do you relate to? Disney Adults sometimes do things that other people might find weird, but it is totally normal to us. These are five things that most Disney Adults can relate to! Decorating Their House With Disney Touches You may have a picture of the castle or maybe a Disney-themed clock on your wall. You might have Disney-themed plates, towels, or even utensils. This is totally normal to Disney Adults because, of course, you would decorate your house to remind you of the parks! ©Golden Oak Realty There is so much Disney merchandise that is perfect to make a house feel more like a home! Why not bring the magic back to where you live? This May Be the Most Unhinged Disney Souvenir We’ve Ever Seen Making Mickey-Shaped Food Disney Adults know that everything tastes better Mickey shaped! It is not surprising for Disney Adults to try and make Disney recipes of their favorite foods and shape them like Mickey! We love Disney food! Some of us even own Mickey-shaped waffle makers or ice cube trays! 24 Disney World Snacks To Try in 2024 Carrying a Disney Themed Purse Disney is constantly releasing new bags. Some Disney Adults will use a Loungefly as their daily bag. You might even own a Dooney and Burke or Gucci Disney bag. We love Disney so much that of course, we carry around Disney bags! Orange Bird Lug Bag Sometimes these bags cost a small fortune so why not get daily use out of them?! Disney World Souvenirs To Buy BEFORE You Get to the Parks Crying During the Fireworks It is the end of a park day and the fireworks are about to start. You hear Jordan Fisher sing “Ready to Begin” and you have already started to tear up. Happily Ever After We can’t blame you, there is something about the music, projections, fireworks, and atmosphere that can make Disney Adults get a little misty-eyed. Learn More About Disney World Fireworks Shows Going to the Same Spot for Vacation Some people like to travel to different places for their vacations, but Disney Adults like to keep it consistent and return to the same spot over and over again for their vacation. Spaceship Earth There is something about the anticipation of a Disney trip that makes Disney Adults want to come back for each vacation. Don’t worry, we are guilty of this. If we want to travel the world we might plan the trip around visiting an international park or maybe taking a Disney cruise. 15. We have some amazing team members on the DFB crew, and some of them used to work at Disney World! Spooktacular Dancers Specifically, a few of our coworkers worked in Magic Kingdom, but for some of them, it’s been a few years. We asked all our former Cast Members if they could tell us some juicy secrets they learned as Magic Kingdom Cast Members, and BOY did they deliver! The following secrets are top-notch, so grab your popcorn and get ready for the tea! Characters Can Communicate IN Character Have you ever been watching one of Disney’s incredible shows and wondered what would happen if something happened on stage to one of the characters, but they had no way of letting the crew know? (No? Okay, maybe that’s just an anxious thought of ours…moving on.) Well don’t worry — all characters have a secret signal that they can give if they’re in distress and need to go off stage. Beauty and the Beast Live on Stage This is for all characters no matter where they are. These signals are mostly used on stage, where the stage crew can easily see them and take action quickly and efficiently, without the audience knowing. What may warrant such an emergency depends on the person, but it could be if someone has hurt themselves during the show, they’re suddenly not feeling well, or feel unsafe for one reason or another. Check out all the live entertainment you can find at Disney World here! There are Multiple Rooms Now, we don’t want to go into this one in too much detail because ruining the magic is NOT something we ever want to do. However, if you’ve ever noticed that the family in front of you isn’t leaving when you head inside to meet a character, that’s because there’s more than one room. Rapunzel in Disney World That’s really all we’ll say here! Disney uses more than one room during meet and greets to help the line move a little faster, especially on busy days or for very popular characters. Now, this is really only the case for indoor character meet and greet locations, since outdoor ones usually aren’t “rooms” to begin with. But now you know — that family in front of you did NOT just disappear into thin air! Here’s where to find ALL the character meet and greets in Disney World! There’s a Subway in the Utilidor! It’s true! There is a Subway in the Utilidor, but we’re talking about the restaurant, not an underground train! Now, we don’t have any photos of it since that’s very much not allowed, but you’ll just have to trust our amazing former Cast Members. ©Disney | Obtained via News 6 Orlando And if you’re not feeling like Subway, don’t worry. You’ll also be able to find burgers, chicken tenders, and more in the Mouseketeria. Now, this is all the same quality food you’ll find above the Utilidor at the Magic Kingdom restaurants, meaning it’s not gourmet, but it’s pretty good! The Utilidor Isn’t Underground Speaking of underground, that’s actually not true — the Utilidor is built at a normal level, but the majority of Magic Kingdom is built on the second story! Obtained via AllEars.net So while the Utilidor is under the park, it’s not underground at all. Now, the Utilidors don’t span the entirety of Magic Kingdom park, but it does touch all 5 lands to allow Cast Members easy access without park guests seeing a Tomorrowland Cast Member “out of place” in Frontierland. So parts of Magic Kingdom are built on the first story, but it’s certainly hard to tell where as you walk around! There’s A “Glow Cage” Down There Ever wonder where Disney keeps some of that back stock merchandise in Magic Kingdom? The answer is the Utilidors, and one of our former Cast Members has given us the very funny mental image of what they called “Glow Cages.” Bubble wands! These Glow Cages were made up of a plethora of glow wands, necklaces, sippers, and bubble wands…all behind literal bars. It’s like they were in jail or something! According to our former Cast Member DFB writer, she said it was always her favorite thing to see. Check out our ultimate packing list for toddlers in Disney World (bubble wands are 100% on this list)! Cast Members Celebrate Holidays in the Utilidors! We’re talking about the Utilidors a lot, but that’s because most of us will never see them! One of our former CMs also shared with us that on the first nights of Magic Kingdom’s Halloween and Christmas parties, the Cast Members will celebrate in the Utilidors! Trick or Treat! At these events, Cast Members can take photos with characters (a VERY rare occurrence down there) and get a goody bag. For Halloween, our former Cast Member got some full-size candy bars, and for Christmas, a special ornament! Identity Theft Is a Real Problem And lastly, and probably the funniest — if Cast Members forget their name tag at home, they’ll be given one that says “Chris from Orlando” (regardless of their gender), or another name tag that isn’t theirs. Snack cart name tag One of our former Cast Members shared that when she forgot hers, she was either given “Jorge” or “Abbey from Arkansas.” Now, this may not seem like a big deal, but if that Cast Member receives a Cast Compliment that day from a guest, they may not receive it because that’s not their actual name! Cinderella Castle We’re always here to bring you the latest and greatest Disney stories and news, so stay tuned to DFB! Every Disney Cast Member is BEGGING you not to break this one rule! 16. The Walt Disney Company is in the middle of a proxy battle with activist investor, Nelson Peltz, who is petitioning to get a seat on the Company’s Board of Directors. Trian Partners nominated Peltz to be elected to the Board, but the current board does not endorse him. ©Disney | Walt Disney Company Headquarters Both Disney and CEO Bob Iger have urged shareholders to vote against Peltz and pals in the upcoming shareholder meeting on April 3rd, with some help from cartoon allies and Walt Disney’s own grandchildren. But now, Peltz has penned a new memo detailing just how poor of a job he thinks Iger is doing. Trian nominated Peltz and former Disney CFO James Rasulo to the Walt Disney Company board back in December. They released a statement reading, in part, that the group “Believes the Disney Board’s lack of focus, alignment, and accountability has resulted in chronic underperformance at one of the world’s most iconic companies.” And now, Nelson Peltz has released a 133-page white paper detailing what he considers to be Disney’s and Iger’s “failures.” ©Getty Images According to the white paper, the recommendations are “aimed at turning around Disney’s shareholder returns, which have trailed most of its peers.” Because of this, Trian is urging shareholders to vote for Peltz and Rasulo. “For more than a year, Trian has described its thoughts on strategies and goals, some of which Disney has now implemented, such as reducing excess costs, reinstating a dividend, and making the Parks business a bigger part of Disney’s growth strategy,” the memo says. “We are now making our 100+ page presentation public with our comprehensive views.” ©Trian Partners The proposals in the report include taking more “shots on goal” and increasing creative risks outside of core franchises like Netflix does. Disney should, per Trian, “explore allocating more budget dollars across lower-cost, easier-to-produce projects to further balance Disney’s higher-cost franchise content; prioritizing ‘retention’ content spend should diversify away the risk of expensive streaming flops.” Not only that, but Trian says Disney should make fewer movie sequels, stating that, in their opinion, “Sequels are less risky film ventures to produce, but do not drive long-term benefits in the same way that new IP can.” ©Disney As far as ESPN goes, Trian recommends that the new standalone streaming service be launched with a bundle partner like Netflix or Amazon, or that ESPN should “harvest cash out of its linear business to selectively reinvest in ESPN+ and higher growth parts of Disney’s business (such as Disney+).” ©ESPN Merging Disney+ and Hulu product content to cut costs would create cost efficiencies near $1 billion, Trian says, and that Hulu integration on Disney+ should be phased out, along with Hulu + Live TV being “a loss-leading product that has struggled to scale and adds limited strategic value.” ©Disney Disney has previously specified that “the Board does NOT endorse the nominations of Nelson Peltz and James Rasulo put forth by Trian Fund Management, L.P. and its affiliates, led by Nelson Peltz and supported by former Disney executive Isaac Perlmutter (collectively, the “Trian Group”).” The notice went on to say, “The Board recommends that shareholders do not vote for the Trian Group nominees and that they reject a related proposal from the Trian Group to amend the Company Bylaws.” Disney also made it clear that the Board “does not endorse the nominations of Craig Hatkoff, Jessica Schell and Leah Solivan put forth for election as directors by Blackwells Onshore I LLC, Blackwells Capital LLC and Jason Aintabi (collectively, the “Blackwells Group”).” ©Disney We’ll have to wait and see what will end up happening at the annual shareholders meeting on April 3rd, but in the meantime, stay tuned to DFB for the latest Disney news. 17. A LOT of big changes are in store for The Walt Disney Company as CEO Bob Iger wraps up 15 months of his second stint as chief of the company. ©Disney On Tuesday, March 5th, Iger met with analysts at the Morgan Stanley Technology, Media, and Telecom Conference to discuss highlights from the past 15 months as well as the next direction for the Company. While much of what he said were things we already knew based on his discussion of the four key building opportunities that Disney has for 2024, we did get some extra confirmation that Disney had some BIG plans in the future. Let’s talk about it! To begin, Iger did address that The Walt Disney Company, like most other media giants, were met with extreme disruptions over the past few years. From a global pandemic to writer and actor strikes, it’s safe to say that most businesses faced hardships. Iger said that when he was asked to return to the Company in 2022, he realized right away that “it was a company that needed a lot of fixing.” ©Disney So, in order to do the fixing, Iger restructured the Company from inside out. We saw this with thousands of job layoffs last spring, which Iger said at the time was to reallocate finances to focus on streaming and the digitalization of the Company. Streaming was something that Iger said multiple times was his utmost priority. ©MasterClass At the Q1 earnings call for fiscal 2024, Iger shared that his focus on streaming would prove to be a success by Q4 of 2024. Because of a refocus on the production studios, creativity, the acquisition of Hulu, and a partnership with Warner Bros. and Fox, Iger is confident that the company is out of a “fixing” phase and entering a “building” phase. ©Disney So… What can we expect to see in this building phase? Well, Iger wants to turbocharge growth in the theme parks. Iger said, “We could build seven new, full lands around the world if we wanted.” While we already knew that Disney had expansion plans in place for both Disney World and Disneyland, it just makes a big difference to hear it confirmed by Iger! ©Disney We’re already expecting a DinoLand, U.S.A. re-theme in Disney’s Animal Kingdom as well as expansions that could include IP from Tangled, Frozen, and more! At the conference, Iger even mentioned that a Pandora-themed land like in Animal Kingdom could soon come to Disneyland. ©Disney He said that currently, Disney owns enough property to do so — and so much acreage near Disneyland California that the park could be expanded by 50 percent. On top of this, Disney is in the works of building three new cruise ships and expanding Disney Cruise Line, focusing on reaching an audience in Asia with the addition of the port in Singapore. Disney Cruise Line Iger assured listeners that there was plenty of intellectual property to mine, and just as much physical room to develop the ideas and bring them to life. Iger’s hope is that by expanding the theme parks and Cruise Line, there will be higher demand and therefore a higher return on capital. Cinderella Castle As for when those lands and expansions will begin to take physical form… we’ll just have to wait and see. Already, we have massive changes coming to Disney World with a new section of Polynesian Village Resort underway as well as the upcoming opening of Tiana’s Bayou Adventure. 19. St. Patrick’s Day is right around the corner (right before Easter this year!), and you know that means Disney is celebrating! ©Disney We’ve been excited about these snacks since they were first announced, and we’ve already tried a few of them, but there were still three more we needed to grab! We snagged all three over the weekend and are here to tell you if they’re worth your money, or if they’re cuter on the poster. First up was the End of the Rainbow Crème Brûlée made with chocolate and coffee crème brûlée with Bailey’s Irish Cream Whipped Cream for $7.25. It’s only available at Amorette’s Patisserie in Disney Springs. End of the Rainbow Crème Brûlée We really enjoyed this! It’s rich and creamy, but doesn’t feel too heavy. The chocolate flavor totally knocked our socks off, and really helped to deepen the coffee flavor. So cute! In fact, we really think the coffee helps make this treat as good as it is. The Bailey’s Irish Cream added that extra hint of flavor to each bite, which we loved. The caramelized sugar on top really added to the toasty notes of the dessert, and overall, we highly recommend this! However, while it’s small, it is very rich, so it may be best to share! You have through March 17th to give it a try. Delicious too! Also in Disney Springs at Swirls on the Water is the Dole Whip Sampler with DOLE Whip® Pineapple swirled with Vanilla Soft-serve garnished with a Pineapple Wedge, Pistachio Soft-serve with Chocolate Soft-serve garnished with Shamrock Sprinkles, and Banana Soft-serve Swirl with Toasted Marshmallow-Caramel Sauce and Caramel Crisp Pearls. The whole thing is available for $7.99. Dole Whip Sampler Out of all the flights we’ve had here, this one by far was our reporter’s favorite! The usual vanilla and pineapple weren’t anything out of the normal, but the pineapple garnishment was a nice touch. Pineapple and Vanilla The chocolate and pistachio were incredible! The chocolate was rich and creamy against the lighter pistachio and both flavors really melded together well. They also kept a decent consistency with each other, so it wasn’t like one side was more melty than the others (which was really nice). The shamrock sprinkles were cute, but just there for decoration and didn’t add any flavor. Chocolate and Pistachio But the winner here by a mile is the bananas foster. If you’re a fan of the banana ice cream on the Disney Cruise Line, this is as close as you can get to that! Its flavor is simmered down a bit by the caramel, so the banana isn’t as aggressive, but man is it decadent! The crispy pearls were also coated in a caramel flavor and it almost reminds us of a wafer added to the bananas foster soft serve — a fantastic addition in our eyes. Bananas Foster Lastly, over at Gasparilla Island Grill at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort, you can grab the Irish Cream Cheesecake for $6.49. This is Bailey’s Irish Cream cheesecake with Chantilly cream and gold ‘coins’. The whole flight is available through April 30th! Irish Cream Cheesecake This is certainly a very creamy and thick treat. The cream cheese flavor is strong, but the cheesecake is delicious and has a great texture. The base is also soft and it’s all easy to scoop. So cute! Overall, we think this treat is delicious! However, if you’re looking for a strong Bailey’s flavor, this one isn’t for you. Plus, watch out for those gold ‘coins’ — they fall all over the place. You can grab this one through March 31st. Yum! 20. Calling all Pirates of the Caribbean fans! Pirates of the Caribbean in Magic Kingdom Whether you are a fan of the films or the Pirates of the Caribbean rides in Disney Parks, this news is sure to be exciting. There’s currently a Pirates of the Caribbean-style theme park that is in the early stages of development! Portions of the Pirates of the Caribbean movies were filmed in Wallilabou, St. Vincent. Now, developers in St. Vincent want to capitalize on being a filming location for the movies, so they’re building a pirate theme park! © St. Vincent Times || Set from Pirates of the Caribbean According to the St. Vincent Times, “Tourists and locals alike are expected to get a sense of the set used by Captain Jack Sparrow in the iconic Pirates of the Caribbean film, which was shot in Wallilabou, St Vincent, by 2025.” This sounds like the theme park will take inspiration from some of the sets that were built in St. Vincent for the movie. ©Disney St.Vincent’s Minister of Tourism, Carlos James, said that this project will start construction this year in 2024. He also said that this project will help boost tourism in the future. © Government of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines || Carlos James While this is super exciting news, we noticed that there is no mention of a partnership with Disney or that Disney has agreed to license the rights to the films. It has been said that “the design concept will incorporate the Pirates of the Caribbean movie motif.” This sounds more like it will be a pirate theme park that will use inspiration from the movies and sets, but you might not see those Disney-owned IP aspects in the park, like Jack Sparrow. Captain Jack hangs out near the Pirates of the Caribbean attraction This park is set to have a “state-of-the-art themed park, restaurant, a full-on area, a pool, and, naturally, beach access for persons coming by sea.” We think the location could be near a cruise ship dock since they are looking for a location that could accommodate “persons coming by sea.” © WIC News || Set from Pirates of the Caribbean No concept art has been released quite yet, which leaves us to our imagination! We hope that this park includes pirate-themed rides. Could you imagine being in charge of captaining a pirate ship through the seas? This could be a similar experience to Millennium Falcon: Smuggler’s Run but make it pirate-themed! Could this park have its own iteration of the iconic Pirates of the Caribbean ride? We have seen different iterations of the ride across the globe, like in Shanghai so St. Vincent’s theme park could potentially craft their own boat ride. Pirates of the Caribbean The announcement said that the theme park is hoping to have a pool, which makes us wonder if there will also be a resort or a water park for guests to enjoy. It would be fun to get to immerse yourself in the pirate experience by staying at a themed hotel near the theme park. © iStock|| Set from Pirates of the Caribbean There are so many possibilities for what this park could look like. 23. Even in the Most Magical Place on Earth, sometimes things can still go wrong. Cinderella Castle No matter when you visit the parks, it’s always important to be prepared. From missing a reservation to ride malfunctions and even transportation problems, there are multiple ways your trip could go awry. And, folks heading to the Magic Kingdom this morning got to experience that firsthand. Luckily, when situations like this arise Disney typically has a backup plan (or multiple!) allowing for people to still get to where they’re going. If the ferry boats are down, you still have the buses or monorail to get to Magic Kingdom. For other parks, smaller boats, the Skyliner, and ride share are also options. 24. Traveling and planning your trip can be stressful, especially after you just enjoyed your relaxing vacation! The last thing you want to deal with is the craziness of an airport. Orlando International Airport We’re here to help you avoid some mistakes we’ve made before, and up your chances of having a stress-free flight home from the Orlando Airport! Orlando International Airport is the 11th busiest airport in the country, and things can get hectic when flying out of MCO. Security lines can get shockingly long at certain dates and times, and if you need to park — the parking garages fill up often. Flights from Orlando can be delayed by winter weather at your destination, and afternoon thunderstorms during Florida’s rainy season can make getting out on time in the afternoon and evening tricky. Orlando International Airport We’ve made these three big mistakes multiple times — and we’re warning you today to do as we say, not as we do! Not Checking FlightAware If you are ever wondering where your plane is or if your flight has any delays or changes, you need to be checking FlightAware. FlightAware is a great tool to track your flight and get important information. You can use FlightAware online via their website or by using their mobile app. We recommend using the app because it will save your recent searches! ©FligtAware This is also a great tool to share your flight information with people who might be picking you up from the airport, or for loved ones to see the status of your flight. Make sure to check for any updates or changes to your flight — especially on your day of travel! Not Reserving a Security Time OK, this is the BIG one! Did you know there is a FREE way to skip the lines at security at Orlando Airport? Yep! We understand that not everyone flies enough to pay for the services that let you get through security faster, like TSA PreCheck and Clear. But in Orlando, you can make a reservation for security by using MCO Reserve powered by CLEAR. MCO Reserve is open from 5AM to 5PM. If your flight is set to depart between 6:30AM and 8:30PM, then you are eligible to use this service. Now if you already have paid for TSA PreCheck or CLEAR+, you can join those special lines at the airport, and you won’t need to do this. ©Orlando International Airport You can make a reservation for you and your party three days before your flight is set to depart — so we recommend setting an alarm to remind yourself in advance of your travel! You may forget when you’re immersed in your vacation! This service is not always available for each airline, but we think it’s always worth checking! Not Checking the MCO Website Did you know you could check security wait times and parking availability on the MCO Website and app? Looking at average security times can help you plan when you should arrive at the airport. Sometimes garages at MCO close due to capacity so it is important to check ahead of time to help avoid the panic of not knowing where to park. You can even reserve parking ahead of time to help you plan on where to park. © MCO If you are active on X (formerly Twitter), the airport’s account, @MCO, is also quick to post updates on traffic delays and other issues you may encounter — like this recent security issue that shut down some roads and terminal areas. We hope these tips will help make your next flight from Orlando Airport smooth sailing! We’ll keep you up to date on any changes at Orlando Airport, so be sure to follow us here at DFB! 25. With each of the EPCOT festivals comes exclusive, limited-time souvenirs that just seem to get cuter and cuter with each passing year. (Oh, and more popular.) 2024 Flower and Garden Festival EPCOT’s Flower and Garden Festival began on February 28th, and it brought LOTS of cute souvenirs. However, there was one in particular that seemed to be the star of the show! In January, Disney Lug bags started popping up in the parks. The Skeeter Lug bags are especially popular — they’re compact crossbody bags that look like Disney characters. An Orange Bird one was released for the Flower and Garden Festival, and believe us when we say that they are POPULAR. When EPCOT opened on February 28th, there was already a 45-minute wait (!!!) for the Creations Shop, where the Flower and Garden Festival Merchandise was being sold. When we got inside, the Cast Members had already restocked the Orange Bird Lug bag once. Orange Bird Lug Bag Since then, the bag has been restocked a few times in person. Plus, it arrived online to the Disney Store a few days ago! Except… it sold out about as quickly as it arrived. Disney restocked it online, but then it sold out again in MINUTES. Yep. IT’S SO CUTE It doesn’t show up as being sold out online, but when we go through the entire checkout process, it stops us just before we’re about to pay for the bag. Drats! ©Disney If you’re desperate for this bag, though, you can snag it on eBay. Resellers have it available for prices ranging from $80 to around $125. ©Google results We’ll be sure to keep you updated if we notice that this bag has been restocked again.
