Disney World has some iconic rides! Tower of Terror And let’s be real, the Tower of Terror is a classic. It’s the perfect mix of spooky vibes and heart-stopping drops that makes you wanna scream your head off (in the best way possible, of course). But here’s the thing, Disney adults (myself included) have this weird obsession with scoring a specific row on it. Why? Let’s talk about it! Where you sit on a ride can make or break your experience. As a “seasoned” Disney adult, I’ve ridden the Tower of Terror more times than I can count, and let me tell you, the Front Row is downright magical! Disney’s Hollywood Studios If you’re like me and live for that adrenaline rush, you can’t go wrong with the front row. The front row is the perfect spot for anyone who wants the full, unfiltered experience of plummeting straight down 13 stories. What’s going to happen next…? There’s nothing quite like the feeling of looking out over the park just before you drop, with nothing blocking your view. Plus, you get the best breeze in your face, which is a bonus on those hot Florida days. ©Blogmickey.com But let’s be real, not everyone is like me and in it for the thrill. If you’re a bit more on the cautious side, or maybe just trying to survive the ride because your friends begged you to join, here’s what you’re going to want to do: aim for the very back corners. ©No-guiltdisney.com There’s something comforting about being nestled next to the walls. It makes you feel just a bit more secure. Also, you still get to experience the ride without the full intensity of the front row. Plus, having a wall next to you can make you feel a bit more grounded when the elevator car starts to freefall. ©Disney One more thing to keep in mind is that asking for specific rows is usually welcomed by the Cast Members. Look, they get it, and they want you to have the best experience possible. So, don’t be shy, and make sure to grab the spot that’s going to give you the most enjoyment (or the least amount of heart palpitations). ©Disney So, next time you ride the Tower of Terror, why not switch things up (front row for back corner and vice versa)? This ride is like the gift that keeps on giving in that you’ll have tons of fun no matter where you’re sitting (and each ride is a unique experience). We’ll be sure to keep you updated with more Disney news, so make sure to follow along so that you never miss a thing. Happy June! Not only are we less than a month away from the first official day of summer, but it’s also Pride Month! Pride Mural To celebrate, the Disney parks are offering special food and drink options for the month, like unique cocktails in Disney Springs and sweet treats in Magic Kingdom. Now, there are two special desserts at Disneyland Resort you may want to check out! Right now, at Bing Bong’s Sweet Stuff, Candy Palace and Candy Kitchen, and Trolley Treats in Disneyland and Disney California Adventure, you can try the Rainbow Mickey Apple and Rainbow Mickey Cereal Treat! ©Disney The Rainbow Mickey Apple is a granny smith apple dipped in caramel and milk chocolate, decorated with two marshmallow ears and topped with red, orange, yellow, green, blue, and purple sanding sugars, with white M&M’S chocolate candies. It’s available now for $12.99. Rainbow Mickey Apple We’ll be honest; this tastes just like any other chocolate and caramel apple you’ll find in Disneyland, just with a little extra sugar at the bottom! Know what it reminds us of? Those sand art crafts we made when we were kids! You know, you’d get those clear containers, take some rainbow-colored sand, then dump it in the bottle? Apparently, that was “art”? Either way, it was FUN. We love it! Now, between the rainbow sugar and the rich chocolate, this can get a little messy! Keep that in mind when you check out, and be sure to pick up some napkins. While this isn’t Disney’s most groundbreaking treat, it’s a classic, fun dessert if you’re looking for a simple Disney snack. Plus, it just looks so cute — look at those candy buttons! So cute! Disney also released a Rainbow Mickey Cereal Treat, a Mickey-shaped cereal treat dipped in white chocolate and decorated with red, orange, yellow, green, blue, and purple sanding sugars. You can get this one for $7.49. Rainbow Mickey Cereal Treat Again, just like the apple, this is a standard rice krispie — er, cereal — treat but with a little extra COLOR, thanks to those sprinkles. Adorable! Good news — this was another great treat! Listen, these might not be the flashiest desserts on the market, but sometimes, all we need is a good old-fashioned carnival snack, like a candy apple or a rice cereal treat. Unsurprisingly, this one is pretty sweet and sugary, but most people probably know what they’re getting into when they order this kind of thing. If you’re looking to celebrate Pride and you love rice cereal treats, this will be a great choice! So many colors! Looking for more recent snack reviews? Look no further! More Recent Reviews! Disney World has already undergone some big changes in 2024 (with more to come), but there are even MORE big changes coming in 2025. Beach Club Resort There are a few things changing in 2025 that we’re already aware of. For example, we know that Disney World ticket prices are going up in 2025. Disney CEO Bob Iger also said that a lot of Disney projects would come to fruition in 2025, whatever that means (honestly, he wasn’t very specific). There’s also a big Disney World hotel change coming in 2025, and we’re going to help you plan for that. We recently learned that Disney World’s hotel cancellation policy would change in 2025 for room-only reservations. So if you have a hotel room reservation in 2025, you can now cancel that reservation up to eight days before your arrival date without a penalty. Pop Century Resort So what does this mean? Before 2025, you can cancel in as little as five days without a penalty. So if something comes up before your trip and you can’t make it, you’ll need to let your Disney hotel know at least eight days before you’re set to arrive or you could lose part of your refund for canceling. Caribbean Beach Resort However, the policy for vacation packages will not change: if you booked your hotel as part of a vacation package (which would include your hotel reservation and park tickets), you can cancel the entire package up to 30 days from your arrival date and receive a full refund. If you cancel from two to 29 days before, though, you will lose $200 as a cancellation fee. If you cancel the day before or on the day of your arrival, though, you completely forfeit the entire cost of the vacation package. Disney’s Contemporary Resort So what you can do to plan ahead is for the worst-case scenario. (You know the old saying: “Expect the best, but plan for the worst.)” If you’re worried you may have to cancel your trip last minute (within those eight days), check to see if your credit card has trip cancellation or interruption insurance. Many travel-based credit cards offer this, so if you don’t get all your money back from Disney, you could still recoup your costs through that insurance. ©Chase If your credit card does not cover trip cancellation or interruption, you may want to consider purchasing travel insurance. Sure, it will cost a little extra, but it will also offer you peace of mind if you think something may pop up before your trip and you’re worried about not getting a full refund. Basically, Disney would still keep their portion of what you paid, but the travel insurance would cover everything else as long as you meet certain criteria (pro tips: read the terms carefully before signing up). Both credit cards with insurance and travel insurance policies will also often cover any other travel-related fees you’ve incurred on the trip, including airfare, transportation to and from Orlando International Airport, and more. Orlando Airport The most important thing you can do, though, is be aware of this change in Disney World’s hotel cancellation policy. Make sure to contact Disney World immediately after you discover you can’t make the trip. Don’t put it off or you could end up having to pay for much of the trip anyway, and no one wants that, right? Stay tuned to DFB for more. The ONE Thing People Don’t Want To Admit About Disney World Hotels Do you have a Disney World trip planned for 2025? Let us know in the comments! For the second week in a row, Walt Disney World wait times across the resort mostly trended downward over the past 7 days. Kali River Rapids Even eternally busy attractions like Avatar: Flight of Passage and Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure saw slight decreases this week, which is interesting. However, one water ride saw a MASSIVE leap, which is a big hint that summer and its temperatures are almost here. Yep, Kali River Rapids in Disney’s Animal Kingdom is one ride that sees relatively low waits throughout the majority of the year. The ride takes you on a river journey that leaves you SOAKING WET. Yep, prepare to get splashed on this one. When temperatures are on the rise, the wait times for this attraction typically are, too. It’s honestly refreshing in that brutal heat! Have you ever felt like breaking into song and dance while acting like a kid around Disney World? Disney’s Hollywood Studios The Disney parks are some of the rare places in the world where you can act goofy by skipping, dancing, and hugging random strangers (a.k.a our favorite characters). Sometimes, it just feels good to be a kid again. It’s even better when Disney throws completely out-of-the-blue, random dance parties. These don’t happen very often except at exclusive events like Jollywood Nights, but we happened to stumble upon one smack dab in the middle of Hollywood Studios during a regular park day! Seriously, y’all! We were floored to see these two out dancing the day away while a DJ was set up on the stage mixing some tunes. We haven’t seen street entertainment like this in Disney World in quite some time, especially with these two rare characters. To say this wasn’t on our bingo cards for 2024 is an understatement. It’s a DANCE PARTY! It was so fun and special to party with these two! We had a blast! We occasionally see Phineas and Ferb at special events or in cavalcades, so seeing them on a regular day in Hollywood Studios at a dance party was pretty magical. Get your groove on! The giant stage that is currently set up in Hollywood Studios is likely there for a private event on June 5th. And you’ll never guess who the stage is for — MAROON 5! So, if you’re planning to be in Hollywood Studios on June 5th, you should know that the park will be closing early that day for the SAP Sapphire & ASUG Annual Conference. You can really see the SCALE here You never know what you might stumble upon while you’re in Disney World, so keep your eyes peeled while you wander around the parks for rare opportunities and characters! This past week has been BUSY, y’all! Disney’s Hollywood Studios Disney gave us a sneak peek at the Country Bear Jamboree, Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, a new foodie guide for Pride month, and we noticed the RE-OPENING date for a very popular ride! There has been a lot of news coming from Disney with more likely on the way. As we enter June, we know we’re in for a busy month ahead. Tiana’s Bayou Adventure and the festival areas CommuniCore Hall and Plaza in EPCOT are all opening this month. With so much happening in June, why will everyone be going to Hollywood Studios on July 27th? Let’s find out! Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster closed on January 8th, but it’s officially opening once again on July 27th, according to the available times on Disney’s website! Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Last year, when the ride closed around this time (on February 20th, to be exact), it reopened on May 26th. This year’s closure has been significantly longer, but we know that many of us Disney fans will be flocking to the park on July 27th so we can finally ride this roller coaster that we’ve missed so much! This Might Be the Best NEW Part of Disney’s Hollywood Studios and I’m Ready To Debate This Fact But let’s take a step back from June and July and talk about what will be re-opening and what will remain closed this week, June 1st through June 8th, in Disney World! Magic Kingdom Tiana’s Bayou Adventure Splash Mountain is permanently closed — this ride is being renovated to become Tiana’s Bayou Adventure! The new ride will be themed to The Princess and the Frog. Tiana’s Bayou Adventure in Magic Kingdom The ride in Disney World is set to open on June 28th! Annual Passholders, DVC members, Cast Members, and D23 Gold Members will all have opportunities to be among the first to ride the new ride. The walls finally came down on May 30th, and we got a better view of all the signs and details that are part of this new ride! Tiana’s Bayou Adventure sign Critter Co-Op and Tiana’s General Store will also be opening in Magic Kingdom near Tiana’s Bayou Adventure around the same time that the ride opens. Critter Co-Op We have also seen Disney Imagineers test riding the ride, and we spotted a few Cast Members riding it in their new costumes! Cast Members riding Tiana’s Bayou Adventure We learned lots of new information about this ride, including a hint that there will be Splash Mountain Easter Eggs throughout the attraction! Along with the opening date, Disney has also recently shared a look at new characters coming to the ride. Are you excited to ride Tiana’s Bayou Adventure? Sign Revealed, Construction Walls Down at Tiana’s Bayou Adventure Ride in Disney World! If you miss Splash Mountain or want to celebrate the new ride, you should check out our DFB t-shirts! We have a Splash Mountain Farwell Tour shirt… DFB Exclusive! …and a Tiana tee as well! Check out our new Tiana-inspired merch! You can shop both tees (and lots of other Disney merch) at our online store. Click here to shop our DFB merchandise store. Country Bear Jamboree Country Bear Jamboree closed on January 27th, 2024 for refurbishment. When we recently visited Magic Kingdom, we noticed that the sign for the show has now been covered up! ©Disney Disney announced that a NEW show is coming to Country Bear Jamboree, with the bears learning an all-new act. The new show is set to open sometime this summer. With Country Bear Jamboree and Tiana’s Bayou Adventure closed, that leaves just Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, Tom Sawyer Island, and the Walt Disney World Railroad open in Frontierland. Disney Files NEW Permit for Country Bears Retheme at Magic Kingdom Tomorrowland Terrace Tomorrowland Terrace is a quick-service restaurant that’s remained closed since the 2020 pandemic-related closures, but even before that, this spot was only occasionally open. Beautiful view from Tomorrowland Terrace Once in a while, you’ll see the dining room open as a rest area (and it’s still being used for the Magic Kingdom Fireworks Dessert Parties), but it’s usually all roped off and empty. Disney hasn’t announced when this spot could finally reopen, but we’ll be watching for updates. If you’re looking for a nice spot to work in Disney World, this could be it! FULL Look at Magic Kingdom’s Massive Expansion Plans EPCOT Restaurant Marrakesh Restaurant Marrakesh is still closed in the Morocco pavilion of EPCOT’s World Showcase, and there’s no word yet on when it might reopen as a dining location. However, the restaurant kind of opened on May 1st. It will be functioning as an Annual Passholder lounge from May 1st through June 26th. Restaurant Marrakesh building Even though we’re still waiting for the full restaurant to reopen, Annual Passholders will be able to enjoy the air conditioning, charging stations, and complimentary food and beverages. There may even be opportunities to meet “special friends” throughout V.I.Passholder Days, according to Disney. We still don’t know if it is permanently closed or if it could reopen as a restaurant, but we’ll take what we can get. American Heritage Gallery The American Heritage Gallery is located in the American Adventure Pavilion in EPCOT. It temporarily closed on May 28th and will remain closed briefly through June 6th. American Heritage Gallery Starting on June 7th, the gallery shows operating hours again, so you may be able to walk through the gallery again, but it will have its official grand opening on June 9th. The gallery will house a new exhibit featuring 60 oil paintings by President George W. Bush. These paintings feature service members and veterans who have served since 9/11 that the President has gotten to know personally. The collection will be called Portraits of Courage: A Commander in Chief’s Tribute to America’s Warriors. IYKYK: Why EPCOT Experts Go to THIS Restaurant for the Best Free Water Disney’s Hollywood Studios Voyage of the Little Mermaid Well, it’s official — Voyage of the Little Mermaid is permanently closed in Disney World. We had suspected this was the case for some time (as it hasn’t actually been open for a few years now), but now the permanent closure has been confirmed. Voyage of the Little Mermaid Disney is going to introduce a NEW show in this spot, though it will still be themed to the animated movie The Little Mermaid! The new show will be called “The Little Mermaid — A Musical Adventure” and is coming to Disney’s Hollywood Studios in Fall 2024. ©Disney It will be a “fully reimagined theatrical production inspired by the Walt Disney Animation Studios classic.” REMINDER: Hollywood Studios Closes EARLY One Day This Week Blizzard Beach Blizzard Beach had its last open day on March 16th, 2024 before it closed for refurbishment. Blizzard Beach has nine attractions that we won’t be able to enjoy this week. Blizzard Beach While Blizzard Beach closed, Typhoon Lagoon opened on March 17th, 2024. The two water parks often rotate off and on for being open. Disney has not given a timeline for this new closure or how long Typhoon Lagoon will be open. We’ll be watching for any updates, though! Extra, extra, read all about it! Seriously, we’re sure Disney World hasn’t had a wink of sleep because they’ve dropped so many new updates this week. If you’ve missed out, this is your chance to catch up! I’m back again with another round of WHAT’S NEW UPDATES AT DISNEY WORLD, a rundown on all the epic news and updates that happened at Disney World this past week. This week, we got the 4-1-1 on not one, but TWO highly-anticipated attractions and a BRAND NEW souvenir available now! Are y’all ready? Okay, let’s go! All of this week’s updates happened over in Magic Kingdom! We got an update on Country Bear Musical Jamboree! We learned in September 2023 that the show would be closing for a revamp, and that Nashville singers, producers, and musicians were involved. And we know that “The Bare Necessities” is one of the Disney tunes being used in the new show. But we just got more info — and we’re sharing it here now! ©Disney Now that that’s out of the way, Walt Disney Imagineering just dropped a new episode of its YouTube series, “We Call It Imagineering.” This episode focuses on soundscapes in the parks and on attractions. We got to see some scenes INSIDE Tiana’s Bayou Adventure ride — and you can read about that and see the photos right here! But we also got to go inside some Nashville recording sessions for the NEW Country Bear Jamboree show! Click here to view the post with the video! In the episode, we learned that the new show will open with Trixie singing “Try Everything” from Zootopia. Trixie will be voiced by Emily Ann Roberts, a country and gospel singer who rose to fame as a contestant on “The Voice.” Emily Ann Roberts in the studio with producer Mac McAnally. And we got to see Grammy winners Allison Russell and Chris Thile recording “A Whole New World” from Aladdin for the show! Allison Russell and Chris Thile We can’t wait to hear these songs in person! Click here to see what else is new in Magic Kingdom! We spotted a NEW Tiana’s Bayou Adventure souvenir! Tiana’s Bayou Adventure in Magic Kingdom will soon be having early previews for select Disney World visitors and then open to the public on June 28th. Ahead of that opening, we recently learned that beignets will be available again in Magic Kingdom to celebrate the ride’s opening (ALL the beignets, y’all). We’ve even seen a sneak peek at some new merchandise. But right now, you can pick up ANOTHER Tiana’s Bayou Adventure-themed treat at Disney World. ©Disney Joffrey’s has announced that a brand new coffee blend, Tiana Bayou Beignet, is now available FOR PURCHASE in Disney Springs at the Joffrey’s location at The Landing. Yep, you can officially buy the FIRST Tiana’s Bayou Adventure treat just by visiting Disney Springs. Joffrey’s If you can’t get to Disney World to pick this new coffee blend up, though, you can order it online, too, from Joffrey’s website. So be sure to try it out! That even includes blends specific to Disney World hotels. Pro tip: Joffrey’s tends to have shorter lines than Starbucks, so if you want a coffee fix and don’t want to wait in line, go to one of Joffrey’s locations (located throughout the parks and Disney Springs). We got a SNEAK PEEK of Tiana’s Bayou Adventure details! We’ve gotten glimpses of ride testing, the characters you’ll meet along the way, and we’ve even gotten a sneak peek of the on-ride photo. As the opening date grows nearer, we get even more updates on the ride — small little details that have us getting even more excited. Now, Disney has released details behind the water tower! ©D23 Disney said, “Topped with a larger-than-life tiara fit for a princess and standing at 32 feet tall, the water tower is an integral part of the next chapter of Tiana’s story. The structure features the Tiana’s Foods co-op logo and special nods to characters from Walt Disney Animation Studios’ The Princess and the Frog film. Look closely at the right-hand side of the crown for this starry tribute … Je t’adore! Je t’aime!” ©Disney Disney Imagineers worked alongside Icarus Exhibits, a local business, to bring the water tower to life. Disney said that the icon fits seamlessly into the story of Tiana’s Foods and is fit for royalty. Icarus is a design and build company located just down the road from Disney World that specializes in “creating intentional, themed designs that bring immersive environments to life.” We can’t wait to see how it ties in with Tiana’s story. Calling all our food friends all across the galaxy! We have exciting news coming from Docking Bay 7! Docking Bay 7 Dining room Docking Bay 7 is the main quick service location in Galaxy’s Edge in Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and it has a lot of interesting, unique eats for guests to enjoy. While that means it’s often not the greatest choice for picky eaters, adventurous eaters have a field day here! The menu is about to change, though as two new offerings are being added soon! Disney has announced that two new eats are coming to Docking Bay 7 in Hollywood Studios on June 3rd! The first is the Black Spire Mousse, a new dessert that is made of white chocolate jogan fruit mousse atop a brownie pistachio brittle served with blue milk sauce, pineapple cream, and hibiscus sponge topped with a chocolate Black Spire coin. ©Disney The other snack coming to the restaurant is the Felucian Falafel and Hummus Garden Spread, which is chickpea falafel, roasted beet hummus, and beet-tomato-cucumber relish topped with garlic toum sauce. It is served with a grilled pita. ©Disney Some plant-based eaters are concerned that the Felucian Falafel and Hummus Garden Spread will replace the current Kefta plant-based offering, but Disney has not confirmed or denied if these new offerings mean any current menu items are going away. Kefta Additionally, these new offerings have only been announced for Hollywood Studios, and there’s no word yet on if we’ll also see them arrive at Docking Bay 7 in Disneyland’s Galaxy’s Edge. Docking Bay 7 Spread Also in Galaxy’s Edge, you’ll find Ronto Roasters, another quick service location that’s most known for their breakfast and lunch Ronto Wraps. You can also stop by the Milk Stand to grab that iconic Blue and Green Milk, but just remember, it’s not for everyone! Both of these locations have little to no seating though, unlike Docking Bay 7, so keep that in mind as you’re planning out your day. Ronto Roasters Looking for more recent Hollywood Studios news? Close your eyes. Picture a tropical, relaxing hotel with tiki drinks and a gorgeous waterfront location. Are you picturing Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort? It’s a VERY popular Disney hotel, and for good reason! Just LOOK at it. Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort This resort is just a Monorail ride away from the Magic Kingdom (and EPCOT!). It’s got an EPIC pool, TONS of great food options, and Magic Kingdom fireworks viewing locations. But soon, there will be even MORE reasons to visit this hotel. That’s right — a NEW part of the hotel will soon open. Let’s talk about it! Disney announced that NEW rooms are coming to the Polynesian Village Resort. We’ve been keeping our eyes on the construction progress for AGES, and this new building is really coming along. Recent construction check-in Disney revealed that the new building is called the Island Tower. It will be part of the Disney Vacation Club (DVC) hotel collection, but you don’t have to be a Vacation Club member to book a room! These new villas will sleep two to nine people and feature studio rooms, one- and two-bedroom villas, and two-bedroom Penthouse villas. Expect some gorgeous Deluxe rooms right near Magic Kingdom, with that classic Polynesian feeling. ©Disney Mark your calendars! The new Island Tower will open this December (2024), and you can start reserving rooms VERY soon. In fact, you can see some key booking dates below: June 4th: Disney Vacation Club members can make early rental reservations by contacting Member Services at (800) 800-9800. Disney Vacation Club members will be able to make points-based reservations at a later date. June 5th: Walt Disney World Annual Passholders can start booking rental reservations by contacting (407) 934-7639. June 6th: All guests can make reservations on the Disney World website or by contacting (407) 934-7639. ©Disney As you can see from Disney’s concept art, this hotel will have a light, natural color palette with lots of texture in the decorations. Disney explained that this addition will “complete the vision created by Disney Imagineers decades ago while embracing the rich culture from the Polynesian Islands.” ©Disney If you’re interested in being among the FIRST to stay in this new hotel, make sure to set aside some time this June to book a room. Don’t forget, DVC members, you are the FIRST to have access to new reservations on June 4th. In the meantime, we’re always on the lookout for the latest Disney news, so stay tuned for more. Picture this: it’s a bright, sunny day in Magic Kingdom. June 28th, to be exact. You arrived early enough to rope-drop the park, meaning you’re among the FIRST inside the park. What an honor! Cinderella Castle OK, Cast Members are starting to let you make your way past Cinderella Castle. Where are you heading? Left? WRONG. Most days, we see a good majority of the Magic Kingdom rope-droppers make a beeline to the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train in Fantasyland. Most days, we also recommend going the OTHER way, to avoid getting stuck in that Fantasyland crowd. But on June 28th, that advice isn’t gonna work. Seven Dwarfs Mine Train Going left takes you to Adventureland or Liberty Square. Both lands have plenty of popular attractions, like the Haunted Mansion, Pirates of the Caribbean, and the Jungle Cruise. But between those two lands is Frontierland. And THAT, friends, is where the problem lies. Frontierland Frontierland is home to the NEW Tiana’s Bayou Adventure ride. This ride replaced Splash Mountain — but don’t worry; that classic big drop is still there. Tiana’s Bayou Adventure The new attraction will pick up the story of The Princess and the Frog “after the final kiss, and join Princess Tiana and Louis on a musical adventure – featuring some of the powerful music from the film – as they prepare for their first-ever Mardi Gras performance.” We’ve seen a LOT of ride previews, which you can see HERE, but there’s one important reason we’re talking about June 28th. FROGS!! Tiana’s Bayou Adventure will officially open to EVERYONE in Magic Kingdom on June 28th, 2024. Yes, there are several ride previews happening BEFORE June 28th (look out for our full coverage), but if you’re not an Annual Passholder, Cast Member, D23 Member, or Disney Vacation Club Member, you’ll need to wait until the end of June to experience this ride. ©Disney We anticipate a LOT of people will be headed straight for Tiana’s Bayou Adventure on June 28th to see the big new ride in action. There’s one important caveat here, though, that is VERY important to know before you try to rope-drop this attraction. ©Disney Disney World will use a Virtual Queue/Boarding Pass system for the opening phase of Tiana’s Bayou Adventure. This will be accessible via the My Disney Experience app. Now, this is important, so listen closely. A traditional standby line is NOT currently being offered, though Disney hinted, “We expect to open a standby queue soon after the attraction’s opening.” Ride vehicles So, while you could hightail it to the new ride, being the first to see it won’t do much. Instead, you’ll have two daily opportunities to request to join the virtual queue — one at 7AM and the second at 1PM. Click here to learn more If you see everyone running (or fast-walking, if they follow the rules) to the left on June 28th, don’t follow the crowd. Instead, reserve that Virtual Queue spot and go enjoy the rest of Magic Kingdom! Work smarter, people. Tiana’s at night Wanna learn more about this new ride? We have a TON to share! We have a confession: We’re addicted to Loungefly mini backpacks. We love Loungefly bags So here’s the thing. These mini backpacks are the perfect size for visiting the parks, and we’re in the parks every day. We need a place to put all our essentials, including our phone, water bottle, portable charger, snacks, sanitizing wipes, sunblock, and everything else you need for a day in Disney World. But Loungefly bags have a big problem: there’s no organization inside the bags at all. But we have a solution! DISCLOSURE: This post may contain affiliate links, meaning when you click the links and make a purchase, we receive a commission. Do you have an Amazon Prime account? If not, don’t worry — you can sign up for a free Amazon Prime trial RIGHT NOW. Did someone say FREE shipping? So here’s the thing, when you’re using a Loungefly bag, you just kinda have to throw all your stuff in it. So when you have to open the bag to find something, you have to dig through all that stuff that’s just loose in the bag. That’s annoying, right? Get the Mini Backpack Organizer Loungefly organizer So that’s where the mini backpack organizer comes in. It’s a separate insert that has tons of pockets, slots, a zipper bag, and more to keep your bag organized, meaning you can sort and find things inside your bag a LOT easier than without one of these babies. ALL our stuff is organized now We actually have one of these, and we’ll honestly tell you that it’s a game-changer. It makes using a Loungefly backpack so convenient, but get this — if you decide to switch up bags (like we do often), you can just pull the insert out WITH YOUR STUFF IN IT and just pop it into the new bag. Not all Walt Disney World rides are created equal. EPCOT There are many types of Walt Disney World riders. Some may prefer state of the art coasters and thrill attractions, while others like slow-moving, heavily-themed ride experiences. No matter what kind you prefer, Disney World likely has something for you. However, there are some rides across the resort that wouldn’t elicit any tears from us if they disappeared forever. That doesn’t necessarily mean they’re bad rides is bad either – though they may be – but it could also simply be that they’re redundant, or taking up space that impedes on guest flow and park development. Tomorrowland Speedway Much like its Disneyland cousin Autopia, there was a time when the Tomorrowland Speedway – – which has also gone by the name Grand Prix Raceway – – made sense as a Disney attraction. The speedway gave kids the chance to feel like they were “driving” and providing a scene view of Tomorrowland. However that time has passed. The ride currently feels vastly out of date, the smells from the fumes are unpleasant, and the attraction’s footprint takes up a MASSIVE plot of land between Tomorrowland and Fantasyland that could be better served with new attractions for one or both of those lands. Tomorrowland Speedway The Magic Carpets of Aladdin The Magic Carpets of Aladdin make our list less for the ride itself – – it’s a fine spinner, and the Magic Carpet ride vehicles are really cute in a vacuum – -and more for reasons of redundancy and placement. While we’re not against repeated ride systems in theory, having essentially four identical spinners (2 Dumbos and Astro Orbiter in addition to Magic Carpets of Aladdin) seems like overkill. Plus, while the aforementioned Dumbos have their own perfectly themed area in Storybook Circus and Astro Orbiter sits high atop Tomorrowland, The Magic Carpets of Aladdin are carelessly plopped in the middle of Adventureland. This creates a massive chokepoint leading to crowds, and breaks the thematic setting of the area since the ride doesn’t really match any of the land’s architecture. Magic Carpets of Aladdin Dinosaur Put down your pitchforks and torches and let us explain. Yes, we know that there are a lot of fans of this Animal Kingdom original attraction. However, when removing nostalgia goggles, the ride is past its prime, and simply not our dino (yeah, we went there). Some of its effects have never worked properly, and many of the ones that once did had fallen into disrepair over the years. Plus, fairly or not fairly, the fact that the ride is a direct track clone of Disneyland’s Indiana Jones Adventure means that Dinosaur will always be compared to that iconic attraction. Considering the fact that Dinosaur is all-but-confirmed to be replaced by Indiana Jones during the upcoming Tropical Americas expansion at Animal Kingdom, it seems we’re not the only ones to feel that the attraction needs to go extinct soon. Dinosaur While every Walt Disney World ride has its fans, including these three, we wouldn’t be sad to see any of them disappear. In a couple of cases, we even believe their removal would be overall beneficial to the resort as a whole. We’ve got questions about BOTH of Hollywood Studios’ nighttime projection shows. Hollywood Studios at Night In recent years, there have been two nighttime projection shows presented at Hollywood Studios — Disney Movie Magic and Wonderful World of Animation. However, right now we’re slightly confused about what’s going on with both of them! First up, there’s Wonderful World of Animation. The nighttime show is described by Disney as featuring “spectacular sequences celebrating themes like magic, family, adventure, romance, and friendship. Each theme is brought to life through unforgettable moments from beloved films—like Sleeping Beauty, The Incredibles, Coco, and many more” projected onto the Chinese Theater facade. But, currently, it has no shows scheduled through June 6th. Wonderful World of Animation While there’s no official reason for this, it seems like the obvious answer is that the massive stage currently erected in front of the Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway facade (for a private event being held at the park, which will include a performance from Maroon 5 on said stage) would make the show impossible. Disney Fear not, if you want to see the show however, as Disney’s calendar indicates Wonderful World of Animation is returning on June 7th, so we’re not worried about its long-term future in the least. Disney The same can’t be said for Disney Movie Magic, which usually runs before Wonderful World of Animation. The projection show has been running in some form or fashion since 2017 and features scenes from live-action Disney films projected across the theater’s facade. Disney Movie Magic While the show has been suspended in the summer months in previous years due to later sunset times, this time the show has been COMPLETELY scrubbed from Disney’s website and the My Disney Experience app. When you click on the show on Disney World’s website, you get Stitch saying “Someone ate the page!” (We’re not pointing fingers though.) Stitch ate Movie Magic? If you’ll be at Hollywood Studios over the next few days and want an entertainment option, the park’s other nighttime entertainment offering, Fantastic!, is running as normal. It is located at the Hollywood Hills amphitheater in the Sunset Boulevard section of the park near the Tower of Terror. Fantasmic! We’re not sure what’s officially going on with either of these Hollywood Studios shows, but we’ll be keeping our eyes and ears out for any news and updates, especially for Disney Movie Magic. Stay tuned to DFB for further Hollywood Studios updates. Months after its closing, Disney’s Star Wars Hotel is STILL a hot topic of conversation. Bunk Bed in a Galactic Starcruiser cabin The Star Wars Galactic Starcruiser is going to go down as one of the most fascinating projects undertaken by the Walt Disney Company. Some would argue it was an ahead of its time, unforgettable interactive experience that immersed users in the Star Wars universe. Others may refer to it as an overpriced boondoggle that underdelivered on its premise. What can’t be denied is that it “failed” in the sense that it closed forever just 19 months after opening. So, is there anything Disney could have done differently? Well, maybe. Before we get into some thoughts on what Disney could have changed, here’s a quick reminder what a voyage on the Starcruiser was like. Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser A stay at the hotel was structured like a stay on a luxury cruise liner. In-universe, the hotel was themed to be the Halcyon, a large space-faring ship that traversed the Star Wars galaxy. The two-night experience — which cost a whopping $4,800 minimum for two people (the price did include all activitis and dining, in addition to your room) — would begin with boarding the ship at 1:00PM on the first day of your “voyage.” Crowds in the Galactic Starcruiser’s Atrium Over the next two days, you’d encounter characters (both physically and on the Datapad app that provided the narrative backbone of the experience) launching you into various branching storylines linked to the Star Wars saga across different areas of the “ship” including a visit to the ship’s bridge, cargo bay, engine room, Lightsaber training, and your meals in the Crown of Corellia Dining Room and the Sublight Lounge. On the second day of your stay, you’d take an early morning “space journey” to Batuu (AKA Galaxy’s Edge at Hollywood Studios). This wasn’t just any typical visit to the park however, as you’d be transported to the park in an enclosed bus that was designed on the interior to look like apace vessel. You’d arrive in the land through a special entrance, slightly before the park was open for the day, and experience Galaxy’s Edge in a way that would be almost impossible as a day guest, all the while continuing on “missions” assigned through your Datapad that furthered the on-going narrative. After returning to the ship, the story would climax with a final encounter with the First Order that tied together many of the story threads that had been building throughout the trip. Departure was at 10:00AM the following morning. Characters on the Starcruiser Now, there were MANY who loved their experience on the Starcruiser, and lament its loss to this day. However, there are many more who never even considered booking a Galactic Starcruiser stay. So what could Disney have done? Now, there are small changes that could have been made to the voyage and experience, from which characters appeared to how story elements were introduced and etc. However, we believe that more would have been necessary. There have been many debates about whether the Galactic Starcruiser was “worth” the price. However, even if it was by the numbers, we believe that the sticker shock of spending “$2,800 for two nights at a hotel” was something many potential guests could never get past (even if the Galactic Starcruiser was much more than a hotel). Now, lowering the price substantially was likely a non-starter, so our thought is that Disney could have beefed up the overall package. Magic Kingdom Things may have turned out very differently for the Galactic Starcruiser had Disney attached two nights at a Walt Disney World value resort (with the option of upgrading to moderate or deluxe resorts for an additional fee) plus two days of theme park tickets to the package. It would have turned the two-day Star Wars hotel experience into a 4-day Walt Disney World vacation that simply featured the Starcruiser stay, we believe eliminating much of the overall sticker shock factor. Plus financially, Disney would likely make up any extra costs simply by having guests on property — and in their parks — for two extra days. The Starcruiser Bridge There were arguably many “mistakes” made that led to the “failure” of the Galactic Starcruiser, however we believe that fleshing out the package into a “full” Disney World vacation may have helped the hotel survive and thrive. It has been quite an exciting day so far! Tiana’s Bayou Adventure sign Disney shared the first full ride through video of Tiana’s Bayou Adventure in Magic Kingdom, and we can’t wait to go down into the bayou and help Tiana find a band for her big celebration. However, Tiana is in a bit of a pickle already because those who were supposed to ride Tiana’s Bayou Adventure as part of early previews haven’t been able to. Today, June 1st, contracted Cast Members and Walt Disney Imagineering Cast Members have been given the opportunity to ride Tiana’s Bayou Adventure early. However, we managed to walk by the ride today and learned that these Cast Members were being told that the ride is currently down. Oh no! Previews are closed for now The ride has, apparently, been down all morning. Now, as you might know, official Cast Member previews don’t start until Monday, June 3rd, but today was for this specific group, while June 2nd will be exclusively for those Cast Members who work in Magic Kingdom. Monday will include all Cast Members, as well as their guests. UPDATE: We noticed the ride was back up and running again when we wandered by it around 2:50PM. Tiana’s Bayou Adventure is closed to previews right now The story of Tiana’s Bayou Adventure picks up after the events of The Princess and the Frog. At the end of that movie, Tiana finally opened the restaurant of her dreams, but in Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, she owns a whole company, Tiana’s Foods. During the ride, Tiana will tell you that she’s trying to throw a party for the people of New Orleans, but she needs a vital ingredient — a good band! Y’all, this is New Orleans — music is EVERYTHING, so Tiana sends you on a mission to find some of the best musicians in the bayou. ©Disney Along the way, you’ll see Louis, who will guide you through the bayou and introduce you to some of its critters, many of whom are musically inclined. Eventually, though, you’ll meet Mama Odie, who will use some of her special magic to help in your search. ©Disney Ultimately, you find the band and the party comes together as one of the swingiest parties New Orleans has ever seen. Tiana shows up to the party in a stunning 1920s evening gown (we still can’t get over that dress) and we’re all invited. ©Disney Early previews will continue over the next few weeks for Cast Members, Disney World Annual Passholders, Disney Vacation Club members, and D23 Gold members. Tiana’s Bayou Adventure opens to the public on June 28th. If you’re ready to ride, don’t forget to grab our commemorative t-shirt for Tiana’s Bayou Adventure. Never Lose Sight! Sometimes you just gotta dig a little deeper into some of the amazing details Disney World puts into their rides and attractions. Luckily for us, one of the most stunning surprises within Tiana’s Bayou Adventure was glaringly obvious (but that doesn’t make us swoon over it any less)! Tiana’s Bayou Adventure sign Disney World recently released a full ride-through of its newest attraction, and it makes us so eager to finally get to take a ride in person soon. While some might not have to wait until its official opening on June 28th thanks to special previews of the ride, we’re inviting you to take a closer look at one of the BEST surprises in the ride that was worth keeping a secret for so long! First of all, we’ve just got to say we’ve seen Tiana in some incredible outfits so far! We didn’t think it could get any more iconic than her signature green ball gown that she’s sporting by the end of her feature film (don’t get us started on Lottie’s blue dress she has her put on at the beginning of the film, too). When the ride concept for Tiana’s Bayou Adventure was first teased, we got our first glimpse at an all-new adventure outfit she would be initially sporting before hosting her grand Mardi Gras celebration for her friends and family! ©Disney And she absolutely kills the look! We didn’t think that she could be any more captivating… until we spotted her in full glam during her party at the end of the ride. We don’t know which look we love more for her! Tiana is all dressed up to entertain her guests bopping along to the newly put-together Zydeco musical stylings of the band of critters she rounded up with Louis’ (and a bit of Mama Odie’s) help. “Drop on in” with Princess Tiana this summer as Tiana’s Bayou Adventure opens in Magic Kingdom Park on June 28. The new attraction at Walt Disney World Resort in Lake Buena Vista, Fla., invites guests to join beloved characters and all-new friends on a thrilling adventure, all set against the music and excitement of a New Orleans celebration. (Olga Thompson, Photographer) Tiana’s dressed in a gorgeous gold and green sparking gown that even features an art deco-styled bodice… ©Disney …with a long flowing, shimmering, full-length skirt! ©Disney Her look is made even more complete when you consider how beautiful her hair is styled in loose finger waves (appropriately popular for the time). And, did you also take a closer look at the gorgeous crown on her head? It’s also gold and light green and styled in an opening lily flower just like in her movie! ©Disney We’re certainly stunned at how incredibly the creative team dressed her to impress and can totally see why it was important to save this outfit as one of the best surprises of the entire ride. We’re talking about EVERYTHING we’ve spotted in Tiana’s Bayou Adventure so far! Be sure to stay tuned with us at Disney Food Blog for all the latest news and updates! We go to Disney World every single day, and that means we’ve gotten pretty good at navigating the parks! Cinderella Castle We know the less-crowded walkways, the best bathrooms, and of course, all the shortcuts. If you’re heading to Magic Kingdom soon and you want to use some of our secrets, then we’ve rounded up a list of the BEST shortcuts in the park…with maps! Kicking off this shortcut list in Frontierland, we’ve got a pathway you’ve probably trodden if you’ve been to the park a couple of times — the Rivers of America Boardwalk. This raised wooden sidewalk cuts away from the main thoroughfare and is a great way to get around the crowds during parades or busy times of the day. Plus, it’s beautiful and scenic! The boardwalk pathway! Walking all the way around from Frontierland to Adventureland can be a pain, and that’s why Disney has two small shortcuts between the lands! The first is next to Aloha Isle and Frontier Trading Post, and the second is between The Diamond Horseshoe and Skipper Canteen. The second one gets a little crowded because it’s also home to a bathroom, but these can be major time-savers when you’re trying to get somewhere quickly. Cuts from Adventureland to Frontierland One of my personal favorite shortcuts is the small bridge that cuts from the front of Adventureland to the backside of Ye Olde Christmas Shoppe. This is another great one to take when avoiding the parade crowds, and it leads to a nice, secluded seating area in Liberty Square. To Liberty Square! One of the first shortcuts any Disney fan learns about is cutting through The Emporium! Mind you, this only works well when the gift shop is empty-ish, but it’s a nice time-saver when Main Street, U.S.A. is busy. All the shops on the left side of the street are connected, and then you just exit through Casey’s Corner at the end. Through The Emporium! If you’re trying to get to Tomorrowland from Main Street, U.S.A., you don’t need to go all the way through the hub! The fastest way to get there is to cut through Tomorrowland Terrace, a restaurant that’s only open to host fireworks dessert parties. There’s a pathway that takes you through the restaurant and then past Tomorrowland’s iconic purple wall, dumping you out right at the land’s entrance. Through Tomorrowland Terrace One of the best shortcuts in the park is the one that travels between Storybook Circus and Tomorrowland. You can enter either by The Barnstormer or by TRON Lightcycle / Run and walk all the way between the two lands. The path is usually pretty quiet and has some nice views — it’s also the easiest way to get to Tomorrowland from the Fantasyland Train Station. From Tomorrowland to Storybook Circus So there you go, some of our favorite shortcuts in Magic Kingdom! Hopefully, these will help you save some time during your next trip to the park. We’re just a few weeks away from the grand opening of Tiana’s Bayou Adventure in Disney World! Tiana’s Bayou Adventure sign We’ve already gotten some major sneak peeks into what the ride will offer, including new music, new animatronics, and a special storyline. We’re gearing up for ride previews coming soon for select groups, but if you want to get a first look inside the ride…Disney released a full ride-through video! Disney Parks posted a full ride-through of Tiana’s Bayou Adventure on YouTube, so you can check out the whole thing before it opens on June 28th! It probably goes without saying, but spoiler warning for those who don’t want to know what happens. Check it out below. When watching the video, there was one part of the ride that really caught our attention! As part of the storyline, you go searching for musicians in the bayou to play at Tiana’s party, and you find quite a few talented band members. But midway through the ride, to continue your search, Mama Odie shrinks you down to an itty bitty size! ©Disney In the ride-through, we suddenly found ourselves the same size as the toadstools and leaves! It’s a little bit trippy, considering this is the part of the ride where the ceiling is lower and everything feels a teeny bit more cramped. ©Disney More musicians turn out to be hiding in this miniature space, including a bongo-playing frog. Do the blacklight effects and weird mushrooms make anyone else feel like they’re walking through Alice in Wonderland? Pretty psychedelic if you ask us! ©Disney Perhaps the best part of the “shrunk-down” section is when you encounter the fireflies dancing all around you! They’re joining the bayou jamboree as well, playing their tune and singing along. ©Disney But as you start to climb that big hill and come out of the low-ceilinged rooms, Mama Odie decides it’s time to grow you back to your proper size so you can attend Tiana’s party. With the help of her snake sidekick, we grow once again and get ready to “DROP in” to the festivities. ©Disney Ultimately, the “shrunken” vibes are a fun way to play up the smaller rooms at the bottom of the mountain, and it was a twist we weren’t really expecting. It does make you realize just how much smaller that space is, so it’s definitely a bit confusing for the eyes. ©Disney We’ll make sure to keep you updated with any more details from Tiana’s Bayou Adventure and all the news you need to know before the ride opens! We can’t wait to check it out for ourselves and answer all of your burning questions. Stay tuned to DFB! You can experience part of Tiana’s Bayou Adventure from the comfort of your own home! ©Disney We’re less than a month away from the highly anticipated grand opening of Tiana’s Bayou Adventure – – and just days away from previews beginning – – and now Disney has released an essential part of the attraction for everyone to enjoy. On May 30th, Disney released “Special Spice,” the brand new song from Tiana’s Bayou Adventure on streaming services. The new track was written by PJ Morton, who also produced the song with Brandon N. Caddell, and features vocals from The Princess and the Frog’s Tiana actress Anika Noni Rose. Rose also returned to voice Tiana’s dialogue throughout the attraction. The finale of Tiana’s Bayou Adventure ©Disney The track is an exuberant celebration life, featuring lyrics like: “It’s a joyful celebration! You don’t need an invitation. It’s joyful; this band just can’t be beat because your special spice makes us— because your unique spark makes us— because your special spice makes us complete. Because your special spice makes life complete.” In speaking about the song on a episode of Disney’s Youtube series We Call It Imagineering, Moore spoke of how excited he was to pen a song for a Disney attraction while riding Tiana’s Bayou Adventure for the first time. “Just as a kid, I’ve always been inspired by the big songs of Disney. For me and my sister, it started with Little Mermaid, singing those songs. So it’s just always been a part of our lives. I always feel like they were so well written, you know timeless. So as a young songwriter I always said I wanted to write timeless things. Never in my wildest dreams did I think it would happen this way. You know an attraction is just such a different thing, a physical thing that lives.” He went on to talk about “Special Spice itself, saying of the song,“We knew we wanted a celebration, we knew we wanted something that would welcome people in… Honor what’s been there, but you also have to introduce something new and fresh to it. You have to get lyrics that speak to everyone and speak the right way, so it was a fun process for me as a songwriter.” ©Disney — Musician PJ Morton riding Tiana’s Bayou Adventure for the first time. Rose said of the song, “It’s a free, happy, bouncy song to take you on this journey.” Photo by Jamie McCarthy/Getty Images for Tony Awards Pro – © 2021 Getty Images “Special Spice” follows on the long and proud Disney tradition of new original songs debuting with new attractions, and seemed poised to become a staple of the parks for years to come. When you’ve got about 40 restaurants to choose from at Magic Kingdom, what do you do? Crispy Chicken Dumplings You’ve got quick service, table service, and a whole bunch of food carts. The FOMO can get pretty real. But what happens if you want a snack, and not just any snack — a snack under $10? Well, do not worry because we’ve got your back! We’ve literally eaten every snack there is on the property so that we would be able to give you a list of how they all rank. Let’s go! As we said, if there’s a snack that’s less than $10 on the menu at a location in Magic Kingdom, we’ve had it. So, let’s waste not a single second and rank all of them from best to worst! Cheeseburger Spring Rolls You’ll find these at the Spring Roll Cart which is near the entrance of Adventureland (on the Cinderella Castle side). Cheeseburger Spring Rolls The Cheeseburger Spring Rolls are meaty and cheesy and taste like a fast food cheeseburger that’s surrounded by a golden, crispy shell instead of a bun. They are by far our favorite snack in Magic Kingdom. We rank them a 10/10. Kids Meals We’re listing the kids’ meals at the Magic Kingdom so highly because they will give you a decent amount of food for under $10 — including a main entree, a snack, and a drink. Kids Meal You’ll find these all over the park, but the ones we’re highlighting are the ones found at Pecos Bill Tall Tale Inn (The Chicken Rice Bowk), Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Cafe (Kids Chicken Strips), and Columbia Harbour House (Shrimp Skewers or Grilled Salmon). We rank them all of these a 10/10. Fresh Fruit Waffle Sandwich You’ll find these at Sleepy Hollow Refreshments. Nutella and Fresh Fruit Waffle Sandwich This sandwich is a classic Belgian waffle topped with a slather of rich, chocolatey-hazelnut spread (ie: Nutella) and then smothered with fresh strawberries, blueberries, and banana. Is your mouth watering yet (because ours sure is!)? We rank these a 9.5/10. All-American Sundae You’ll find these at Plaza Ice Cream Parlor. All American Sundae at Plaza Ice Cream Parlor The All-American Sundae is an $8 treat made with Old-fashioned Vanilla and Chocolate Ice Cream, then topped off with Hot Fudge, Peanut Butter Drizzle, Whipped Cream, and a Cherry. (You CAN’T forget the cherry!) We rank them a 9/10. Hushpuppies You’ll find these little beauties at Columbia Harbour House. Don’t those hushpuppies look amazing? We’re including them so high on our list because they’re just $5. Also, they’re so SATISFYING. These puppies are nice and crispy on the outside, and thick and doughy on the inside. These deep-fried golden cornmeal balls are complete with whole corn pieces inside, which add just a hint of sweetness to this otherwise savory snack. We rank them an 8.5/10. Warm Cinnamon Roll You’ll find these at Gaston’s Tavern. Warm Cinnamon Roll The saying is true that no one serves up breakfast like Gaston. These cinnamon rolls are huge, easy to split, and covered in a thick and creamy maple-flavored icing, and at just $7, they’re hard to beat. We rank them an 8.5/10. Peanut Butter Cookie Pie You’ll find these at Main Street Confectionery. Peanut Butter Cookie Pie This huge, soft, thick peanut butter cookie is topped with chocolate frosting and sprinkled with a handful of Peanut Butter M&Ms. There’s also a bunch of peanut butter chips baked throughout the cookie base, which adds some nice texture and even MORE peanut butter flavor! We rank them an 8/10. Rapunzel Sundae You’ll find this one at Storybook Treats. Rapunzel Sundae The Rapunzel Sundae at Storybook Treats is a Shortcake topped with DOLE Whip Lemon, Wild Berry Soft-serve, Berry Compote, and colorful Sugar Flowers. We rank it an 8/10. Dole Whip Pineapple Upside Down Cake You’ll find this one at Aloha Isle. Pineapple Upside-down Cake from Aloha Isle Refreshements This one is arguably the best way to enjoy a dole whip at Magic Kingdom. It comes topped with your choice of Dole Whip pineapple, vanilla soft serve, or a swirl of the two. But no matter which topping you pick, it’ll always cost you about $7. We rank it an 8/10. Tropical Serenade You’ll find this one also at Aloha Isle. The Tropical Serenade Float The Tropical Serenade is made with a generous serving of Coconut soft serve swirled into a cup filled with POG juice (Pineapple, Orange, and Guava). It’s also topped off with an upside-down Pineapple Cake Pop, tucked right into the soft serve. We rank it an 8/10. Citrus Swirl It’s actually called the “Orange Cream Soft-serve Cup” on the menu (it used to be called the Citrus Swirl) and you can find it at Sunshine Tree Terrace. Citrus Swirl This frozen dessert is made of Dole Whip Orange, swirled together with vanilla ice cream (Think of a dreamsicle in a cup). It’s been a long go-to snack of ours whenever we’re looking for something cool, refreshing, tart, sweet, creamy, and fruity — since the Citrus Swirl has it all for just a little over $5. We rank it an 8/10. The Grey Stuff Cupcake You’ll find these over at Gaston’s Tavern. Try the Grey Stuff. It’s delicious! It’s a chocolate cupcake topped with “the grey stuff” (cookies and cream-like frosting) and then sprinkled with little crispy pearls. The chocolate cake is really moist, and the crispy pearls give it a nice layer of “crunch.” We rank it a 7.5/10. Caramel Apple Pecan Hand Pie You’ll find this over at Friar’s Nook. Caramel Apple-Pecan Hand Pie If you’re looking for a savory option for less than $10, look no further. The Caramel Apple-Pecan Hand Pie is a fried, empanada-like dessert pastry filled with caramel apple-pecan and drizzled with vanilla custard sauce — all for around $6. It’s light and flaky, and the apples are very tender. It’s also a very sugary treat (FYI). We rank it a 7.5/10. Candied Bacon Skewer You’ll find this over at Westward Ho. The bacon meal Basically, everything you need to know about this one is right in the name. It’s bacon on a stick. It’s also served with a side of potato chips for about $10. We rank it a 7/10. Cheshire Cat Tail You’ll find this over at Cheshire Cafe. The Cheshire Cat Tail For those looking for a sweet pastry that’s only about $6, this will be your treat. It is a tail-shaped twisted pastry, filled with chocolate chips and topped with squiggles of pink and purple icing — to look just like the Cheshire Cat’s hind-quarters accessory, straight from Alice in Wonderland. This pastry is gooey, chocolatey, and flaky with just the right amount of sweetness. We rank it a 6.5/10. Sticky Bubble Bread You’ll find this one at The Lunching Pad. Sticky Bubble Bread The Sticky Bubble Bread is a Sweet Bread rolled in Cinnamon, Caramel, and Warm Spices for about $6. This bread is moist, it has strong spiced flavors without being too overly sweet. It’s also very easy to pull apart which makes it easy to share, too. FYI: You can only get it until 10:30 AM, so you have to hurry. We rank it a 6.5/10. Tomato Basil Soup You’ll find this one at Pinocchio Village Haus. Tomato Basil Soup The tomato basil soup here costs about $4 and is savory, buttery, creamy, and tomato-y, too! (Also, how many great snacks can you find for less than $5?) We rank it a 6.5/10. Frozen Mint Julep Lemonade You’ll find this one at Casey’s Corner. Frozen Mint Julep The Frozen Mint Julep Lemonade at Casey’s Corner is a blended mint julep with lemonade, fresh mint leaves, a cherry, and an extra slice of lemon on top. It’s an extremely refreshing drink for around $7. We rank it a 6.5/10. Cream Cheese Warm Stuffed Pretzel You’ll find this one at The Lunching Pad. Sweet Cream Cheese Pretzel This unsalted pretzel is lightly dusted with breadcrumbs and filled with a ribbon of super-soft cream cheese. (Not cream cheese icing — actual cream cheese like you’d layer on a bagel.) The sweetness of this pretzel is just enough to satisfy a sugar craving without being too sugary. We rank it a 6.5/10. Cold Brew Float You’ll find this one at Auntie Gravity’s Galactic Goodies. Cold Brew Float Auntie Gravity’s in Tomorrowland may just have the best cold brew in all of Magic Kingdom, and the Cold Brew Float is about $7 and is made with your choice of ice cream (either chocolate, vanilla, or caramel) and Joffrey’s specialty cold brew blend. We rank it a 6.5/10. I Lava You Float You’ll find this one at Sunshine Tree Terrace. I Lava You Float The I Lava You Float from Sunshine Tree Terrace in Adventureland is a sweet orange Dole Whip mixed with strawberry Fanta, passion fruit syrup, and popping candies for a little over $7. It’s a unique Dole Whip that think everyone can get behind, but it can get a little too sweet (just FYI). We rank it a 6/10. Chili Cheese Fries You’ll find these at Casey’s Corner. Chili cheese fries For around $6.50, you can get an order of chili cheese fries, topped with Walt’s Chili and shredded cheese. The fries are thin, crispy, and usually have a good amount of salt on them. Also, Walt’s Chili is a classic Disney staple, and it pairs really well with the salty/crispiness of the fries. We rank them a 6/10. Sausage and Gravy Tots You’ll find these over at Friar’s Nook. Sausage Gravy Tater Tots The Sausage and Gravy Tots at The Friar’s Nook are crispy tater tots with salty, hot gravy poured over the top — all for around $6. If you’re a fan of the Breakfast Totchos you’ll find at Woody’s Lunch Box in Hollywood Studios, these are the closest you’ll find at Magic Kingdom. We rank them a 6/10. Desert Pear Lemonade Pirate Slushy You’ll find these over at Tortuga Tavern. Desert Pear Lemonade Pirate Slushy The Desert Pear Lemonade Pirate Slushy from Tortuga Tavern in Adventureland reminds us of the violet lemonade at the EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival (albeit, with no flower accent on top and a much bigger portion for around $6.50). This slushy is tart and sweet and is a large portion size, so you might wanna split it with someone. We rank it a 5.5/10. Lemonade and Sweet Tea Slushy You’ll find these over at Golden Oak Outpost. Lemonade and Sweet Tea Slushy If you’re an Arnold Palmer fan, this is the slushy for you. It’s refreshing, slightly tart, and manages to keep the sweetness toned down without losing any of that brewed-up flavor. We rank it a 5.5/10. Baseball Brownie You’ll find these at Casey’s Corner. Baseball Brownie We know this one is a pre-made Disney World brownie, but don’t sleep on it because it’s actually pretty satisfying! It’s on the fudgy side rather than being fluffy like a cake and the baseball icing is just plain old adorable. We rank it a 5/10. Joffrey’s Doughnuts You’ll find these all over the parks, but let’s focus on the kiosk in Tomorrowland. Joffrey’s Birthday Donut The main draw with these doughnuts at Joffrey’s is that they are HUGE (think as big as your face huge) and they cost around $6. Overall, they’re a great treat to share, just don’t expect these doughnuts to be unique like what you might find at Everglazed Doughnuts in Disney Springs. We rank them a 5/10. Donuts for breakfast?
