There are TONS of classic snacks around Disney World, but believe it or not, sometimes the most famous snacks are not the best treats on our list. Mickey Pretzel We’ve tried them all — the classic snacks and the obscure ones, and we’re here to help you decide what will and won’t be worth spending your snack budget on when you’re in the park. If you’re heading to EPCOT, you may choose to grab a classic Mickey Pretzel or a churro. But we’re saying NO. Instead, we’re recommending the Mickey Cinnamon Roll from Kringla Bakeri Cafe. The Mickey Cinnamon Roll costs $7.49 and is your standard cinnamon roll…Mickey-shaped! It’s like what you’d pick up at the store, so picture a classic, cinnamon-y treat. It’s got a nice cinnamon flavor in between the dough, but it’s important to know that it does NOT come iced! A Cast Member asked if we’d like icing added, and we, of course, said YES. Mickey Cinnamon Roll! This is just regular icing, so there’s no extra flavor to it other than just sweet sugar. Luckily, it held up really nicely in the heat. Look at this little beauty! It held up really well in the heat It’s big, so it’s certainly shareable, but it’s a little bit stiffer than the famous Gaston’s Cinnamon Roll that you’ll find in Magic Kingdom. It’s iconic and stands the test of time, and you can’t go wrong with Mickey-shaped food, right? The inside Looking for more recent reviews? Check out our posts below! More Recent Reviews! Universal: 3rd Horror Nights house possesses haunted artwork
Disney4me posted a topic in Disney News
The story of Spanish artist Sergio Navarro, who lives in a haunted manor where paintings come alive, will be the basis for a haunted house at Halloween Horror Nights 2025 at Universal Studios, HHN creators shared. The maze — named El Artista: A Spanish Haunting — is the third of 10 HHN houses to be revealed and the first of the year featuring original content. The reveal came during a panel discussion at a Spooky Empire event Friday. Also discussed — sometimes coyly — were an overall event theme, the use of “Five Nights at Freddy’s” and the possibility of a stage show. In the El Artista storyline, Navarro is having a career dip, so he moves into a country manor for inspiration. It’s set in the 1880s. “Unbeknownst to him, the manor’s grounds are infested by the spirits of artists that came before him and also moved to the manor, and there’s a deeper sense of evil rooted deep within the manor grounds that exists mostly inside the conservatory,” show director Ramon Paradoa explained. “This deep sense of evil overtakes Sergio’s mind, influencing his art, forcing him to paint these horrifying things that come to life,” he explained. Paradoa discussed the look of the house and special effects planned. “We wanted to really run the gambit on the different kinds of creatures and attackers we can see within the environment of a ghost story. You have spectral entities, apparitions of ghosts that belong to the manor, the artists of the past,” he said. “But then we wanted to play with what if we had some creatures that were poltergeist creatures, creatures that possessed Sergio … and came to life and used his artwork as vessels for themselves to have tangible bodies.” The Pepper’s ghost effect will be used repeatedly in the house, Paradoa said. “You’re going to physically see ghosts trying to burst through paintings, pushing through the canvas of paintings and you may or may not see ghosts walking through walls,” he teased. “That’s just some of the examples of how we’re really trying to push those boundaries from an effects standpoint, to make it feel like you were walking alongside Sergio, as this haunting is going from bad to worse.” As an overall inspiration for this year’s HHN, creators and designers looked to the roots of the horror genre, landing on gothic textures such as stained glass, vines and gargoyles, they said. “As soon as you cross through those turnstiles, you are going to be hit with those gothic tones and textures,” said Lora Sauls, assistant director of entertainment creative development and show direction at Universal Orlando. “You are going to make your way towards the Music Plaza Stage and that tone and texture and maybe the characters that surround you, the scenic elements, everything is going to carry that theme all the way through your journey,” she said. “If you chose to take that right down Hollywood Boulevard, that theme is still there in a different way, but still taking on those tones, textures, environments, stained glass within that conservatory wall.” Those tones will be repeated within the soundtrack and lighting across the theme park, Sauls said. The two previously announced houses were based on “Fallout,” a videogame and Prime streaming series, and Jason Universe, centering on the “Friday the 13th” villain. Halloween Horror Nights begins at Universal Studios on Aug. 29. The Spooky Empire event ended with an audience-driven Q&A with the panel, and questions included the possibility of a stage show and the inclusion of “Five Night at Freddy’s,” a 2023 film that Universal has indicated via social media — without detail — would be included in HHN. “We have officially announced that ‘Five Nights at Freddy’s’ will be part of Halloween Horror Nights on both coasts [including at Universal Studios Hollywood],” said Mike Aiello, senior director, entertainment creative development at Universal Orlando. “We have not officially said how that will be part of the event, but it will be in the event. And what I can tell you, it’s going to be cool. It’s going to be fun. … The characters will look identical to how they appear in the Blumhouse ‘Five Nights at Freddy’s’ film.” Aiello did not confirm a “Nightmare Fuel” show or other production, but explained their purpose within the event, referring to house alternative as “palate cleansers.” “We want to be able to present something that allows someone who maybe doesn’t want to get scared all night, that they can sit down and enjoy some level of spectacle within the event … anything that kind of breaks you away from the scare zones and the haunted houses, where we want to try and find ways that we can engage that guest,” he said. Oh, DOLE Whip, how we love you so. And there are so many amazing ways to enjoy it. Not only do you come in a variety of flavors, but we can often swirl those flavors together (although sometimes the classic Pineapple DOLE Whip just hits the spot). Tamu Tamu Refreshments Then there are all the DOLE Whip floats you can get in Disney World. Now, we’ve had our favorites, but a new DOLE Whip float has entered the chat…and let’s just say it’s got our attention! So join us as we head over to Disney’s Animal Kingdom to try it! Over at Tamu Tamu Refreshments (in the Africa section of Animal Kingdom), you can now get the DOLE Whip Pineapple Orange Soda Float for $6.49. And trust us, you will want to make the trek to this small snack stand in Animal Kingdom to get it. To quote our reporter, “this thing is like a citrus explosion in your mouth.” Yep, it’s THAT good. You’ve basically got orange Fanta soda mixed with that delicious, creamy, and tart pineapple DOLE Whip and those flavors just combine in the best way possible. Pineapple Orange Soda Float It’s tangy, it’s tart, AND it’s bubbly — there’s so much good things happening with this float. We also loved how it has a little bit of creamy foam where the soda meets the DOLE Whip. There’s also a strawberry drizzle on top that brings out the citrus flavors even more and adds a good hint of sweetness. We’re even impressed with the portion size because you get plenty of it. ALL the best flavors Overall, 10 out of 10, y’all. Don’t want to go through all of the stress of booking your Disney World trip alone? Reach out to our friends at Small World Vacations! Well, there’s a HUGE holiday right around the corner — and we bet a lot of folks are going to be coming to Disney World to celebrate. EPCOT Yep, we’re talking about the 4th of July and with the holiday landing on a Friday this year, we’re expecting that weekend to be full of people saluting all things America. Now, Disney World does celebrate the 4th every year and we’ve already confirmed the special 4th of July fireworks show in Magic Kingdom, but now Disney has confirmed that EPCOT’s 4th of July fireworks will be returning this year, too. If you don’t feel like navigating the crowds in Magic Kingdom for the special 4th of July fireworks there, you might have better luck in EPCOT. Disney has confirmed that Heartbeat of Freedom will be returning to EPCOT on July 4th, 2025 for its once-a-year performance. ©Jeff Krause So what exactly IS Heartbeat of Freedom? Well, it’s a special fireworks show that EPCOT will have right after its regular nighttime show, Luminous — The Symphony of Us. So if you’re in EPCOT that night, be sure to stick around after Luminous for some special celebratory fireworks! While you’re at it, be sure to visit the American Adventure Pavilion earlier in the day. You might be able to see some of your favorite characters dressed up for the holiday. Mickey and pals Then you can pop into the pavilion and hear the Voices of Liberty perform patriotic songs…check the My Disney Experience app for showtimes. Voices of Liberty If you get hungry, pop on over to Regal Eagle Smokehouse, which is named after Sam, the Eagle, the most patriotic Muppet of them all! Disney World has so many food options that it’s hard to know where to begin when planning your trip. Lucky for you, we’re here to help you out! We know the best (and maybe not so great) restaurants and meals that you’re going to want to try. Welcome to Disney World We went to STK Steakhouse at Disney Springs to try their “Steak Night America” prix fixe menu (available Sunday through Thursday for $69 per person), and honestly? It might be one of the best hidden deals in Disney Springs. You just have to know to ask for it, because there is zero signage and no mention of it on the regular menu. Is this secret steal worth the trek? Let’s find out. Atmosphere Before we get started, you may be asking how you pronounce STK! It is not pronounced steak (although this is a steakhouse with plenty of steak options on the menu), but you instead pronounce all the letters individually. STK Steakhouse STK is no average steakhouse! This two-story restaurant has a rooftop terrace and sleek ambient lighting, and they want you to feel like you can kick back and relax. “Escape the ordinary when you dine at this ultra-modern steakhouse offering incredible cuisine and an upbeat vibe.” Sign us up! Enough about the space, what’s on this prix fixe menu? Menu STK’s standard menu is… pricey. Like, every-entrée-is-$50 pricey. Apps and sides are extra. Sauces? Also extra. And while the food was good, nothing really screamed “worth $300 for two.” But the prix fixe deal? Well, that’s the game-changer. ©STK The “Steak Night America” menu includes: One appetizer per person One entrée per person One shared dessert A bottle of Prosecco or red wine for the table For the specific eats, we chose the Lil’ Brgs, Jalapeño Pickled Shrimp Cocktail, 6oz filet, Miso Glazed Chilean Sea Bass, Asparagus, Mac & Cheese, and Bag O’ Donuts. Mac & Cheese All for $69 per person, which is a massive value compared to ordering à la carte. But you have to ask for it. It’s not listed, mentioned, or advertised anywhere in the restaurant. We had to ask our server directly, and they brought out a separate sheet with the prix fixe options. So yeah, it’s kind of a secret menu — and we’re very happy to blow the lid off it for you. Yum! We’re getting hungry. Let’s eat! Eats For our first appetizer, we had the Lil’ Brgs. Two small but mighty sliders made with wagyu-style beef, topped with a creamy sauce and served on buttery brioche buns with black sesame seeds. Lil’ Brgs These had great flavor and a luxe touch — but at $10 each on the regular menu? No thanks. As part of the prix fixe? Yes, please. For our next appetizer, we had the Jalapeño Pickled Shrimp Cocktail. It comes with 4 prawns, cocktail sauce, and lemon. Jalapeño Pickled Shrimp Cocktail These are big, juicy shrimp served over ice — still cold even after all our photo-taking. The cocktail sauce packs real heat (in a good way), and the portion felt fair for a starter. Bonus: the spice was bold enough to stand out but didn’t overpower the shrimp. We had the Miso Glazed Chilean Sea Bass for the first entree. It comes with sautéed bok choy, ginger, crispy shallots, and Thai basil. Miso Glazed Chilean Sea Bass This was a total surprise hit. The sea bass was firm, not flaky, and the miso glaze added a ton of umami-rich flavor. It didn’t taste overly fishy (a huge plus), and the little side of sautéed bok choy rounded out the dish nicely. If you’re not feeling steak, this is a strong alternative. For the second entree, we got the 6oz Filet for $59. Steak purists will be happy here. 6oz Filet This filet had a solid sear, was cooked exactly to temp, and was seasoned just right. But it came all by itself on the plate — literally just the steak and two stray pickled onions. It needed a sauce, and thankfully, the peppercorn sauce we added was smooth, flavorful, and held onto the steak perfectly. The steak itself? Not mind-blowing, but very solid. For our sides, we got the Asparagus and the Mac & Cheese. Each entrée comes with one side. Asparagus The asparagus was lemony and crisp, topped with breadcrumbs that gave it a nice punch. The mac & cheese was creamy and rich — not the dry baked kind, but gooey in all the right ways. Served in a cast iron skillet, it was hearty and felt generous for a “side.” Mac & Cheese For dessert, we got to enjoy the Bag O’ Donuts. These were the highlights of the night. Six warm doughnut holes rolled in cinnamon sugar, served with raspberry, chocolate, and caramel sauces. Bag O’ Donuts The raspberry was tart and delicious, the caramel was too thick to dip but still tasty, and the chocolate tasted like Hershey’s syrup (which could go either way depending on your vibe). The doughnuts were fluffy and perfectly cooked. If you’re sharing this dessert, you won’t fight over the last one — there are six! Drinks The prix fixe includes a full bottle of wine or Prosecco — not a glass, not a pour, a whole bottle. We went with the Prosecco, and it was crisp and refreshing. Not fancy, but more than fine for the price. If you’re dining à la carte, there’s a huge cocktail menu and an extensive wine list, but again, it adds up fast. Nosh or Not You need to add STK to your Disney World itinerary if… You want one of the best hidden-value meals in Disney Springs. You’re okay with loud music and a trendy vibe. You love steak and appreciate a well-cooked fish dish. You’re celebrating or just want to feel a little fancy for a night. STK might not be for you if… You’re hoping for a traditional steakhouse atmosphere. You have mobility issues — the location and layout can be tricky. You don’t like having to ask for deals (and might miss the prix fixe). You’re on a tight budget — the regular menu is expensive. Overall STK isn’t a must-do for every Disney Springs visitor. Honestly, if every entrée cost $10 less and apps and sides were $4–6 less, it’d feel fair. But as it stands, the best reason to dine here is absolutely the prix fixe. Dining room “Steak Night America” is a hidden gem. If you don’t know about it, you’ll miss it — and the restaurant’s not advertising it, so now you know because we’re telling you. Ask for it. Use it. Save your money. And get those doughnuts. Bag O’ Donuts Would we come back and order à la carte? Probably not. But would we go out of our way for this prix fixe again? Absolutely. You can plan down to the minute, pack all the matching shirts, and book the dining reservations 60 days out — but even that won’t save you from some of the sneaky July mistakes people make at Disney World. Walt Disney World entrance From permanent closures to surprise reopening dates, there are big changes happening across the parks in July. Here’s what you need to know before you get stuck standing outside an attraction that’s not coming back. Planning Around Tom Sawyer Island or the Riverboat If you’re the kind of Disney World guest who loves to explore the quiet corners and take a breather from the chaos, this one’s going to sting. Tom Sawyer Island and the Liberty Square Riverboat are permanently closing on July 7th. Yep — permanently. As in, not coming back. Tom Sawyer Island This might not seem like a big deal at first glance, but these two attractions were often key for low-key Magic Kingdom mornings or letting little ones burn some energy. If you had them on your itinerary as your “let’s avoid the crowds” strategy, go ahead and pivot now. You don’t want to spend time walking over to Liberty Square only to find construction walls and a whole lot of nothing. If you want a chill alternative, the PeopleMover in Tomorrowland or Carousel of Progress might be your new best bet. Banking on the Hall of Presidents to Be Open It’s July. It’s hot. You’re in Magic Kingdom. You need somewhere to sit down in the air conditioning for twenty minutes, that’s not a food court. In the past, the Hall of Presidents was the go-to. Not this summer. Hall of Presidents The Hall of Presidents is currently closed with no official reopening date. So, unless something major changes, don’t count on escaping the heat there. We have seen the waiting area of the attraction open from time to time. It’s a good spot to cool off, but doesn’t have any seats. Instead, plan to hit up attractions like the Enchanted Tiki Room or the Country Bear Musical Jamboree. Both will get you in the AC without the disappointment of a closed door. Expecting to Ride Astro Orbiter “Any Day Now” We’ve all been there — scrolling through your Disney app thinking, “Surely Astro Orbiter will be back open by our trip next week.” It won’t. Astro Orbiter Astro Orbiter is closed for refurbishment until “Summer 2025,” but Disney has not released an exact reopening date yet. So don’t hold out hope for a last-minute surprise. It’s one of those rides you might not think about until you’re standing in Tomorrowland at sunset wanting that classic above-the-skyline photo —and realizing you’re out of luck. If you want a similar vibe, try Dumbo over in Fantasyland for a flying experience that’s still operational (and often overlooked by adults). Heading to Hollywood Studios Like It’s Business As Usual Here’s the harsh reality: Hollywood Studios has lost a chunk of its charm this summer. Muppet*Vision 3D? Closed. PizzeRizzo? Closed. Mama Melrose’s Ristorante Italiano? Also closed. Former Muppets Courtyard blocked Muppet Courtyard officially shut down in June 2025. And for longtime fans of this section of the park, it’s kind of a gut punch. Muppet*Vision 3D was a reliable place to cool off and laugh at something silly for 15 minutes. Mama Melrose was a dependable (and air-conditioned) sit-down meal. Now? That whole corner of the park is in transition. Blocked off! If you’re heading to Hollywood Studios in July, don’t bank on using this area as your dining or break stop. Get familiar with other dining options now. We recommend ABC Commissary or Docking Bay 7 for decent meals without needing a reservation. And if you’re looking to sit down and chill, plan ahead and grab a table at places like Hollywood Brown Derby — but know they book up fast. Visiting EPCOT Before July 22nd? You’ll Miss Test Track We get it — Test Track is a fan favorite. And if you’re heading to EPCOT in July, you’re probably planning to hit it early or late in the day to skip the line. Bad news: Test Track is closed for refurbishment until July 22nd. New Test Track sign! The new version will finally reopen that day, and trust us, if you’re going before then, it’s a big bummer. Don’t make the mistake of building your entire EPCOT itinerary around it. Instead, rework your plans to focus on Soarin’, Mission: SPACE, or Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind. Test Track will be back soon — but not in time for that early July trip. Bottom Line There’s a lot changing across the Disney parks this July, and it’s easy to miss the fine print if you’re not glued to the updates. The mistake most people will make is assuming their old favorites will still be there when they arrive. Don’t let that be you. Check the closures, make backup plans, and prep for a slightly different Disney World than you might remember. In the meantime, we’re always on the lookout for the latest Disney news, so stay tuned for more. We just got a huge progress update on the new Frozen Land coming to Disneyland Paris! @DisneylandParis Instagram The Kingdom of Arendelle is set to open at Disneyland Paris in 2026. The new area will allow guests to step into the world they see in Disney’s iconic animated film, Frozen. Disney Imagineering just dropped a big update on the progress, and we’re here to share it with you! A huge milestone was just hit for the Disney Imagineering team tasked with the Frozen project in Paris. They’ve officially added water to the Frozen Ever After ride — yes, for the first time in forever! This shows huge progress on the construction of the ride as it nears completion. However, there’s also something else that’s very special about the water in the attraction. Frozen Ever After in Disney World Disney Imagineers held a ceremony adding water from other Frozen-themed rides from Disney Parks around the world. They added water from EPCOT, Hong Kong Disneyland, and Tokyo DisneySea. They even added water from Norway, the country Frozen is based on. This is a sweet tradition started by Walt Disney back in 1966, when he opened “it’s a small world.” Walt invited international representatives to pour water from rivers and oceans around the world into the attraction. That tradition was carried on by Imagineers for the Kingdom of Arendelle. Frozen Ever After at Hong Kong Disneyland Resort Imagineers noted that there is still lots of work to be done on the attraction, but they’re excited to show what they’ve put together for guests to experience starting in 2026. The Frozen Ever After ride is not unique to Disneyland Paris, as it is also featured in EPCOT and Hong Kong Disneyland. Frozen Ever After Disneyland Paris will introduce a completely new and reimagined park in 2026 called Disney Adventure World. It’s going to include so many fun lands and attractions that have never been seen before in a Disney Park! It will include a brand-new ride that will be inspired by Disney Pixar’s UP, a Tangled Spin ride, and Disney’s first-ever ride themed after The Lion King. ©Disney We can’t wait for the new Disney Adventure World; it’s exciting to think about how close we’re getting to 2026 for the grand opening. When it comes to dining reservations in Disney World, we’ve tried all kinds of hacks! Raglan Road full spread From last-minute bookings and Walk-Up Waitlists to using outside websites to snag those sit-down meals, we’ve got quite a few tips. But now, there’s a new partnership that could be a GAME CHANGER for dining reservations in Disney World. Uber and OpenTable have announced a new partnership to change the way “people discover, reserve, and travel to their favorite restaurants.” The new partnership combines Uber’s delivery network with OpenTable’s trusted reservation platform to create a new one-stop shop. ©Disney This new dining offering will be available to millions of people in the U.S., Canada, Mexico, the UK, Ireland, and Australia, and it will roll out in late 2025. The Uber Eats app will now have a “Dine Out” feature where you can find the perfect reservation. Uber One members will get priority at some of the most premier dining locations in town. Uber area sign at EPCOT And if you book via OpenTable, you can get a discount on the Uber ride to your restaurant. Also, members of OpenTable’s loyalty program will be getting more ways to use their points, with the ability to put them towards Uber and Uber Eats. ©OpenTable Finally, they’ve announced that, “In select markets, OpenTable VIPs can enjoy a complimentary six-month Uber One membership — that means $0 Delivery Fee on Uber Eats, access to exclusive perks, and more.” More information about this partnership will be released in the future, so keep watching for more announcements from Uber Eats and OpenTable. ©OpenTable If you’re heading to Disney World, we love using the OpenTable website to snag reservations at several non-Disney-owned restaurants. A big holiday is coming up soon — and we’re looking forward to seeing how Disney World celebrates. Fireworks at Magic Kingdom Yes, the 4th of July is right around the corner, and, of course, the big thing that EVERYONE uses to celebrate is fireworks. Now, of course, there are special fireworks in Magic Kingdom for the big day, but if you’ll be visiting Orlando or live in the city, there are some new fireworks rules you need to be aware of this year. According to The Orlando Sentinel, new fireworks restrictions are on the way for Orange County after citizens of the Waterfront Estates neighborhood complained about loudly exploding mortars being fired nearby. The new rules were recently adopted by Orange County Commissioners and will do what they can to discourage offenders by making it easier to ID and punish them. The law is expected to go into effect before the 4th of July, a day that the state of Florida allows the public to shoot fireworks. 4th of July in Magic Kingdom The county ordinance concerning fireworks will now require a $100 permit for “public display of fireworks or pyrotechnics.” It also allows deputies to issue cease-and-desist orders if the ordinance is violated. The old rules required the deputy to witness the violation to issue a citation. Now, a video or citizen complaint will be accepted as evidence of rule violations. Frontierland dance party Deputies can write a warning or citation with penalties escalating from $200 for a first offense, $400 for a second, and $500 for anything after that, plus a mandatory court appearance. Orange County Commissioner Mayra Uribe has clarified that the new rules are intended to prevent behavior that infringes on the property rights of others and not on fireworks to celebrate a wedding or gender reveal. Of course, this rule doesn’t impact the fireworks in Magic Kingdom, so you’ll be free to enjoy them as you’d like. Stay tuned to DFB for more. Okay, so you know how excited we were when Blue Ribbon Corn Dogs finally opened in Disney World last year. Blue Ribbon Corn Dogs Now, we’ve been big fans of Blue Ribbon Corn Dogs in Disneyland for YEARS, and we’ve even tried the viral Pickle Corn Dog that EVERYONE was talking about at one point (and we liked it). But having a Blue Ribbon in Disney World means we get to try even MORE varieties of corn dogs, and a new corn dog just arrived at the location on Disney’s BoardWalk that we NEED to talk about because it’s CHEESY (and you know how we feel about cheese…we LOVE IT). Meet the Crispy Cheddar Melt Dog, which is made with alternating cheddar cheese and beef hot dog dipped in cornmeal batter and rolled in panko bread crumbs, served with a cilantro garlic-mayo and a bag of chips. Oh, Blue Ribbon, you had us at CHEESE. Now, this thing is $15.50, so it’s a little pricey…but it’s also a pretty big corn dog. Crispy Cheddar Melt Dog The cornmeal batter is nice and crispy, and the panko bread crumbs add a nice extra crunch. On the inside, the cornmeal is a little softer, and then there’s this beautifully-cooked, juicy hot dog that’s cut up into different chunks with melted cheddar cheese between each chunk. BRILLIANT. There’s some kind of mad science going on here, and we are HERE FOR IT. Anyway, when you bite into it, you get a taste of hot dog and then cheese…and it’s all just AMAZING. It’s beautiful Okay, the sauce, though, is really good, too. It’s herby and has that cilantro taste…which you might want to be warned about if you’re one of those people who think cilantro tastes like soap. We also liked that this is a thicker, almost paste-like dipping sauce, so it stays on the dog when you dip it. Now, we will say we didn’t get a lot of garlic flavor from it. The dipping sauce So, yeah, this corn dog is almost $16, and we’d order it again because we think it’s worth the upcharge over the regular $10 corn dog. That’s one thing we love about Blue Ribbon…they like to really experiment with unique flavors, and it often just works. Stay tuned to DFB for more. Magic Kingdom is going through a lot of changes over the next few years — so much so that it’s sometimes hard to keep track of them all. Cinderella Castle Astro Orbiter has been put back together following a months-long refurbishment, we have a closing date for Tom Sawyer Island and the Liberty Square Riverboat to turn into the new Piston Peak land, and we know that Villains Land construction is underway behind Big Thunder Mountain Railroad (which is also under construction right now), but believe it or not, that’s not all! There’s also a change coming to the Walt Disney World Railroad you won’t want to forget. With the news of upcoming closures to Tom Sawyer Island and the Liberty Square Riverboat on July 7th (meaning the last day to experience them is July 6th), we were concerned that all that construction work would completely close the Walt Disney World Railroad. After all, when TRON Lightcycle / Run was under construction, that’s exactly what happened. Liberty Square Riverboat However, Disney announced that the Walt Disney World Railroad will remain open during construction on the new land; BUT, only part of the route will be operating starting July 7th, 2025. Since traveling to the Frontierland Station would run guests right through the construction area, Disney will only be running the railroad in what’s called “shuttle mode.” Main Street Station This means that the train will only run from the Main Street station and the Fantasyland station, so while it’s not the whole attraction, it will save you a lot of steps if you’re trying to get from the front of the park to the back! Our theory is that closing the Frontierland Station will prevent guests from seeing not only the Piston Peak construction, but also what’s going on with Villains Land. Walt Disney World Railroad However, Disney is turning some of the benches around on the train, which means you can choose to sit forward OR backward, no matter which direction you’re going. Expect a drastic change for one particular airline company SOON. ©JetBlue With ongoing economic uncertainty making headlines lately, travelers are leaving no stone unturned when it comes to scoring the best prices on everything from hotel stays to theme park tickets, and even flights. However, with more people opting to hold off on that next trip a while longer, one budget airline is having to make major cuts to its current operations. Cost-cutting just got serious for a popular airline. As the demand for air travel has decreased, several budget airline companies have found themselves in a predicament. Thanks to a sudden decrease in demand for air travel, JetBlue is nixing several flights, per Fox Business . ©JetBlue Fox Business has reported JetBlue’s CEO Joanna Geraghty sent an internal note to several staff members on Monday stating it’s “unlikely” that the company will reach a break-even operating margin for this fiscal year. The internal notes went on to say, “We’re hopeful demand and bookings will rebound, but even a recovery won’t fully offset the ground we’ve lost this year and our path back to profitability will take longer than we’d hoped.” ©JetBlue In 2024, Gheraghty (who was previously the company’s president) was moved into the CEO position in hopes of turning things around financially after the COVID-19 pandemic hobbled JetBlue’s profitability. In fact, JetBlue hasn’t posted an annual profit since it started with a $1.4 billion loss in 2020. @JetBlue Airways In the meantime, JetBlue will continue to reduce its flying capacity to match the weaker demand of air travelers, especially on Tuesdays and Wednesdays when traffic appears to be the lowest, and in markets where it operates multiple flights for a single route. The majority of these reductions, however, are already reflected in the airline’s current operating schedule. JetBlue is also actively looking into winding down underperforming routes and shifting available flights to more profitable ones. JetBlue is expected to announce further changes to flight routes, including cancellations, over the next few weeks. ©JetBlue Cutting flights isn’t the only measure JetBlue is willing to pull back on right now. Additionally, the budget airline company is also pausing plans to restyle some of its A320 classics and will instead opt to park them at the end of the summer due to the reduced flying. Jet Blue also aims to boost efficiency among its leadership by combining or restructuring certain roles and reducing some optional in-person and non-operational virtual training programs. ©Getty Images But JetBlue doesn’t aim to cut back in all of its positions. While things might sound scary for the airline, they’re still holding strong on efforts to increase frontline workers and support center positions. We’ll continue to update you as we learn more.
