  1. Yeah, yeah, yeah, we know we’re the DISNEY Food Blog, but you’ll find us driving through McDonald’s on a pretty regular basis, too (it doesn’t hurt that the world’s largest McDonald’s is so close to Disney World). McDonald’s Sometimes, we just want to grab a Happy Meal with the latest Disney toy. Sometimes we just crave those fries (which you used to be able to get at Disney World a long time ago). Sometimes, we just want a fast meal that’s usually reliable. Well, if you love McDonald’s as much as we do, you’ll want to know about a new menu item that just dropped. Meet the Daily Double, a burger that select cities have already seen at McDonald’s. Now, though the Daily Double is making its debut in McDonald’s restaurants across the U.S. through the end of 2025. It’s made with two 100% beef patties and topped with melted American cheese, shredded lettuce, slivered onions, mayo, and two slices of tomato. ©McDonald’s So you might be wondering what makes this new because McDonald’s already has a double cheeseburger and a McDouble. The difference between a double cheeseburger and a McDouble is that the regular double cheeseburger has a second slice of cheese. Double cheeseburger @McDonald’s Here’s the McDouble for comparison: McDouble @McDonald’s Meanwhile, the new Daily Double has lettuce and tomato slices (and just one slice of cheese). Yeah, we know…it’s confusing. Anyway, the Daily Double is also a new option for McDonald’s McValue Meal Deal Bundle, which is $6 or $7, depending on the location. That deal includes a choice of an entree plus a 4-piece Chicken McNuggets, small Fries, and a small drink. Stay tuned to DFB for more. WE KNOW – there are SO many great snacks at Disney World! 2. When it comes to dining at a buffet in Disney World, it can be touch and go. Some buffets are excellent and among our favorite foods in Disney World (yes, we’re talking about Boma). Some buffets are the ones we go to mostly just to see characters, meaning the food is usually secondary (Chef Mickey’s, we’re looking at you). Cape May Cafe However, there’s a buffet in Disney World that specializes in seafood, and we rarely see anyone talking about it. So we’re going to head on over to Disney’s Beach Club Resort to have dinner at Cape May Cafe. Atmosphere You’ll find Cape May Cafe just off the lobby at Disney’s Beach Club. Cape May Cafe The atmosphere is very beachy with lots of natural light and beach vibe decor. There is plenty of seating with tables and chairs, as well as booths. Beachy vibes Note that this is a buffet, so servers will come around to take your drink orders, but then you’re on your own to fill plates with food. Buffet But enough about the restaurant — what’s on the menu here?! Menu The Cape May Cafe dinner buffet is $49 per adult and $29 per child. This is an all-you-care-to-enjoy restaurant, though, so you can easily get your money’s worth depending on how much you eat. There’s also a special drink menu where you can order specialty non-alcoholic drinks, cocktails, beer, and wine for an additional price. Drinks menu And now, onto the main event — the food! Eats There is plenty on the buffet to eat, including a lot of seafood. We do need to preface this review by noting that our reporter is allergic to shellfish, so for this dinner, we stayed away from that. But we did make a plate, so you can get an idea of what other kinds of seafood are available on the buffet. Seafood Plate But let’s talk about what we did eat. The Salmon was perfectly cooked, moist, and flaky. We especially liked the sweet chili sauce on it. We could eat a whole platter of this if given the opportunity. Salmon The Pasta Salad of the Day was a plant-based pasta salad. It had a lot of eggplant and mushroom flavor, so it almost tasted meaty. We also liked the tender green beans and peppers in it. Pasta Salad of the Day We felt the same way about the Cornbread. It wasn’t great, but it wasn’t bad either. It was also a little dry. Again, though, this was nothing we couldn’t get anywhere else. Cornbread The Parker House Roll was fluffy with a hint of sweetness. It’s a decent roll, but again, it’s basic. Still, we like this kind of rolls, so no complaints. Parker House rolls The Caesar Salad has a creamy dressing on it, but the dressing didn’t have a lot of flavor. The vegetables tasted very fresh, and we liked the crunchy elements. Caesar Salad Okay, now we have to talk about the Macaroni and Cheese from the kids’ section of the buffet. DO NOT skip out on it. This mac and cheese is white cheddar, and it is wonderfully creamy and cheesy. Pro tip: grab a roll and sop of the leftover cheese sauce — don’t let any of that go to waste! Macaroni and cheese We found the Sirloin to be tender and juicy, as well as well-cooked. It didn’t even need a sauce with it. It has a great beefy taste with a smoky char on the outside. Sirloin The Tofu Rice was a nice surprise because it was good. It had a slight sweetness to it that we weren’t sure about at first, but it grew on us. The rice is cooked well and still has a bit of bite. Then it’s also covered in a creamy sauce with some veggies mixed in. Tofu rice The Seasonal-inspired Salad was also nice. It had a thick vinaigrette dressing on it plus almonds, strawberries, and spinach. Everything about it tasted fresh and it had a nice crunch. The combination of the vinaigrette with the toppings worked well together. Seasonal Inspired Salad Okay, it’s time for dessert! We grabbed the Cranberry Orange Tart, and well, you could tell it had been sitting on the buffet for more than a hot minute. The crust was soggy, but the filling was creamy and had nice orange and cranberry flavors. It was also light with a thin layer of jam on top. We liked the fruitiness, too. Cranberry Orange Tart Now we get to tell you all about the Cheesecake. First up, it’s so CUTE. But it’s also delicious. We loved the creamy texture of the cheesecake filling and the fact that it wasn’t super light or super dense. It was JUST RIGHT. Cheesecake We weren’t so thrilled about the Boston Cream Pie Cupcake, though. This was our least favorite dessert. The cupcake was dry, and the frosting was just way too sweet. We also didn’t get the Boston Cream Pie inspiration for it, though. It’s just a regular cupcake. Boston Cream Pie Cupcake BUT the BonBons…okay, so Cape May Cafe is famous for this dessert, and we get the hype. They’re made with an Oreo cookie on the bottom and then topped with a light and creamy mousse. Then all that is covered with a super thin layer of crunchy chocolate powder. Bonbon We’ll admit that we went back for another one of these. Drinks We also ordered a cocktail to go with our dinner: the Rum Swizzle, made with Mount Gay Eclipse Rum with Tropical Juices and flavors of Guava and Mango for $15.50. Our server told us this was one of the most popular drinks, so we had to try it. Let’s just say you can taste the rum in this drink, although the other main flavors we got were orange, pineapple, and guava. It’s on the sweet side, so you’ll want to stir it up good before you sip. Rum Swizzle Overall, though, this drink is fruity and sweet and has that whole beach and tropical vibe. Nosh or Not This Disney World restaurant is a must-visit if… You like seafood. There is a lot of seafood, including shellfish, on the buffet, and although we couldn’t eat it, we saw people loading up plates with just about all of it and going back for more. You’re staying nearby or visiting EPCOT. Cape May Cafe is in the EPCOT resort area, so it’s very handy to do both EPCOT and the hotels in the vicinity. You’re really hungry. If you want to get your money’s worth, you’ll need to bring your appetite. You should skip this Disney World spot if… You’re allergic to shellfish or don’t like seafood. Although you will find things other than seafood here, seafood is the primary option on the buffet. You don’t eat big meals. This is a buffet, and it’s a little pricey, so if you don’t normally eat big meals, this could be a waste of money for you. You want a quick meal. If you just want to grab a quick dinner somewhere, this is not it. This is a table service restaurant, so although you mostly serve yourself, the meal will still take some time out of your day. Overall One thing we need to note is that if you do have allergies, you’ll need to make sure to bring it up with your server. Checking in online no longer has that option, and the host will tell you to speak to your server. Your server probably won’t bring it up, so be sure to ask for yourself. We will note that if you do have a shellfish allergy, you might want to stay away from here, as a lot of what’s on the menu is shellfish. However, with that being said, if you love seafood, this is a chance to get plates stacked high with your favorite things. We also liked the nice seaside vibe here and didn’t find the restaurant overly noisy. Our server was also very attentive. In the meantime, we’ll be on the lookout for more restaurant updates from Disney World and beyond. Make sure you stay tuned to the Disney Food Blog for the latest Disney news and more! 3. Believe it or not, the 2025 edition of EPCOT’s premier event — the EPCOT International Food and Wine Festival is just about two months away, and we’re feeling…anxious. 2024 Food and Wine Festival As always, the 2025 Food and Wine Festival — which is scheduled to run from August 28th through November 22nd — will be a “culinary adventure across 6 different continents.” However, as stoked as we are for the festival — and the FOOD — some elements have us a bit worried. The Weather As always, when it comes to the Orlando area in late August and early September, it’s going to be HOT during the opening weeks of the Food & Wine Festival. So those heading to the festival will definitely need to stay hydrated with water between their food and drinks. Germany Festival Booth Furthermore, the Fest is taking place right smack in the middle of Atlantic Hurricane Season. While this is normal for Food & Wine, the 2025 Hurricane season is predicted to be very active. According to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, a “confluence of factors, including continued ENSO-neutral conditions, warmer than average ocean temperatures, forecasts for weak wind shear, and the potential for higher activity from the West African Monsoon, a primary starting point for Atlantic hurricanes,” could mead to more activity than normal, which could have effects throughout the event’s run. Jam-Packed Opening Week Crowds Speaking of the Food & Wine Festival’s opening week, it promises to be a PACKED one in Orlando. In addition to the festival’s August 28th launch, the following day will see the start of the three-day Destination D23: A Journey Around the Worlds of Disney event. ©Disney This sold-out, exclusive for D23 Gold Members event, will provide guests the opportunity to “celebrate beloved moments and memories with behind-the-scenes stories, and special guests and performances”, “buckle in for a sneak peek at the company’s boundless future”, and “be among the first to access exclusive shopping opportunities, and experience plenty of surprises at this fan-favorite event!” As if that wasn’t enough, August 28th will also see the opening of Universal’s 2025 Halloween Horror Nights. Universal Orlando Halloween Horror Nights Suffice to say, these three major events will draw a lot of guests to the Orlando area, likely leading to the Festival’s first few days being even more crowded than usual opening festival days. Where are the Seminars? For years, seminars, tastings, and demonstrations were a huge part of what made the Food & Wine Festival special. However, they haven’t been a major part of the event for several years now, and nothing is confirmed for a 2025 full comeback. This is especially confusing since the Flavors of Florida event at Disney Springs IS offering food and drink seminars. Cheese Seminar at Epcot Food and Wine Festival back in 2016. How Will Communicore Hall Be Utilized? Speaking of seminars, where could they be held? Why, Communicore Hall, of course. After all, the massive space was touted as one that would bring “the center of the park to life seasonally as an ever-changing hall to highlight art, live music, food, and more,” especially during Festivals. As of now, however, there’s nothing announced for the space during Food & Wine. CommuniCore Hall While we’re as excited as ever for the Food & Wine Festival, some elements of this year’s fest are giving us anxiety and call for a bit more planning! But don’t worry, we are here to help!! Stay tuned to DFB for more on the 2025 event. 5. There are many perks to staying at a Disney World hotel — you’re close to the parks, get complimentary transportation, and can get Early Entry into every single one of the theme parks on every day of your trip. Cinderella Castle However, if you choose to splurge and stay at a Disney World Deluxe Hotel, you get even MORE perks. One of those is Extended Evening Hours in select parks on certain days. As the year progresses, Magic Kingdom often hosts fewer Extended Evening Hours nights due to its holiday after-hours events, such as Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, which is just around the corner. We’ve got an update though — Extended Evening Hours will return to this park in September! What are Extended Evening Hours, you ask? Well, when the park closes to regular guests, Deluxe hotel guests get to stay in the park and experience the open attractions for a few extra hours at the end of the day. It’s a great way to ride some of your favorite rides with significantly lower wait times and experience a nearly empty park. TRON Lightcycle / Run at night If you were hoping to experience Extended Evening Hours in Magic Kingdom this year, we’re happy to report that they’ll return to the park on September 3rd! At this time, that’s the only date we can see so far for the fall season, but we expect to see additional availability pop up in the future. Check the Disney World calendar often — you never know when more dates may appear. Magic Kingdom However, it’s important to note that this is also when Magic Kingdom will be in the midst of Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party as well, so many nights will be spent celebrating that event. If you want to know the days that will NOT have Extended Evening Hours in Magic Kingdom, you can take a look at the days in September and October that host Halloween parties: September: 2, 5, 7, 9, 12, 14, 16, 19, 21, 23, 25, 26, 28, 30 October: 2, 3, 5, 7, 9, 10, 13, 14, 16, 17, 19, 23, 24, 26, 28, 30, 31 Magic Kingdom at night Don’t want to go through all of the stress of booking your Disney World trip alone? 6. Okay, Star Wars fans, we hear you. We know how much you enjoy visiting Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge in Disney World and Disneyland. Stormtroopers in Rise of the Resistance We also know you’ve got a ton of photos in front of the Stormtrooper room in Rise of the Resistance and probably quite a few of R2-D2 in the queue of Star Tours. You’ve probably collected a lot of cool merchandise, too, from action figures to lightsabers to LEGO sets. Well, if you get thirsty during your visits to Disney World and Disneyland, you might reach for a Coke — and now that Coke could be in a special Star Wars bottle. Disney has just announced a brand-new collaboration with Coca-Cola, which will bring new Star Wars bottles to markets around the world. ©Disney There will be a total of 30 special Star Wars cans and bottles for purchase, but three exclusive designs will only be available at Disney World and Disneyland: The Mandalorian and Grogu, First Order Stormtrooper, and Chewbacca. ©Lucasfilm/Coca-Cola You’ll be able to find the other Star Wars bottles around the world, though. These bottles include: Coke: Lando Calrissian, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Queen Amidala, Kylo Ren, Ahsoka Tano, Darth Maul, K-2SO, Boba Fett, Poe Dameron, The Mandalorian, Cassian Andor, General Grievous, and Emperor Palpatine Zero Sugar Coke: Darth Vader, Yoda, Princess Leia, Anakin Skywalker, Luke Skywalker, Chewbacca, Han Solo, BB-8, C-3PO, R2-D2, Finn, Rey, Grogu, and an Imperial Stormtrooper ©Disney But that’s not all. 7. EPCOT is one of the best parks at Disney World to grab a souvenir from! EPCOT When it comes to souvenir shopping at Walt Disney World, EPCOT’s World Showcase is an absolute goldmine. With pavilions representing 11 different countries, you’ll find everything from authentic Japanese snacks to hand-painted Italian ceramics — and just about everything in between. It’s the kind of place where you could easily spend hours browsing and still feel like you’ve only scratched the surface. Out of all the unique finds tucked into this global marketplace, one souvenir stood out above the rest. I spent $70 for this in EPCOT, and I’d do it again in a heartbeat. Tucked inside the Mexico Pavilion, past the margaritas and market-style shops, is one of the most underrated souvenir spots in all of Disney World — the ring carvers. It’s a small stand that’s easy to walk right by if you’re rushing to your next Lightning Lane return time, but trust me: stop. Because what they offer is a custom, handmade keepsake that feels way more personal than the usual plush or pin. Ring Carver The process is simple but surprisingly fun. You fill out a form, choose your ring style, pick a word, name, or initials, and they carve it for you right there. It’s fascinating to watch, and the detailed work is impressive. The rings vary in price from $59- $100 for Sterling Silver, and they even have solid 14 KT gold options as well, from $299 to $799. It took about 45 minutes for ours to be ready because of orders ahead of us. If you have to wait, just check out the surrounding countries, and it’ll pass the time! Exploring World Showcase with the anticipation of picking up something made just for me added a little extra magic to the day. There are so many options There’s something really special about getting a souvenir that’s not just from Disney World, but made while you’re there. The whole thing felt personal, memorable, and way more meaningful than I expected for the price. Whether you’re looking for a unique gift or just want something different than the usual merch, this is it. I spent $70 for this in EPCOT — and yes, I’d 100% do it again. 8. Celebrities are just like us…well, they’re just like us if we had all that money, fame, and the ability to do what we want when we want. But like us, they do love Disney World, and they visit often. Cinderella Castle Neil Patrick Harris has been to EPCOT so often that he has his own table at La Cava del Tequila. Josh Gad has been spotted visiting the parks a few times, too. Even Charlize Theron and Sydney Sweeney have been spotted in Disney World. Jason Kelce and his family are there A LOT. Well, now, another celebrity recently had some fun in the parks. Formula 1 driver and celebrity Romain Grosjean just posted some photos from his recent visit to Disney World. From 2009 through 2020, Grosjean competed for France in Formula 1 racing. From 2021 through 2024, he competed in the IndyCar Series. He’s also a Disney fan and even posted the obligatory Cinderella Castle selfie during his recent visit. ©Romain Grosjean He visited Disney World with his wife, Marion, and the two spent time meeting some pretty cool characters, like Jack Sparrow. ©Romain Grosjean There was also a meal at Crystal Palace, where the pair got to meet a few characters, too, including Tigger! Tiggers are, after all, wonderful things! ©Romain Grosjean The couple also made it over to Disney’s Hollywood Studios to visit Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, where they hopped on Rise of the Resistance and got that money shot with the Stormtroopers (like who DOESN’T get that photo, right?). ©Romain Grosjean Recently, Disney and Formula 1 announced a new collaboration with Mickey & Friends that will begin in 2026, so Grosjean fits RIGHT in! 11. We’ve got big news out of EPCOT, and we have a feeling a lot of you won’t exactly be happy about it. EPCOT Test Track is getting ready to reopen VERY SOON, but we just found out that ANOTHER ride change will be coming to EPCOT at the end of the summer. If you’re a big fan of Spaceship Earth, you need to know that it’s temporarily closing at the end of summer. Disney just announced that Spaceship Earth will temporarily close for refurbishment beginning on August 25th. At this time, there’s no specific reopening date, but we know it is expected to reopen “later in the year.” We’re certainly hoping it won’t be too long — BIG Spaceship Earth fans over here. EPCOT This isn’t the only closure happening in the resort around this time. Buzz Lightyear Space Ranger Spin in Magic Kingdom will also close on August 4th and won’t reopen until 2026 due to the extensive refurbishment it’s undergoing. This ride is about to be MAJORLY UPGRADED. Stay tuned for more details! ©Disney Additionally, when this Spaceship Earth closure begins, construction will likely begin on the new Piston Peak land in Magic Kingdom (meaning the Liberty Square Riverboat and Tom Sawyer Island will be CLOSED), construction will continue on the Villains Land also coming to Magic Kingdom, DinoLand continues to become the new Pueblo Esperanza land, and Muppets Courtyard is behind walls to become the new Monsters, Inc. Land. Phew! That’s a lot of CHANGE, right?! Tropical Americas construction Other than the Spaceship Earth closure, there’s no other construction scheduled to happen in EPCOT at this time, which is a relief! It’ll be the only park that doesn’t have tons of construction walls around the park, but we’re always on the lookout for more projects and announcements. More Recent EPCOT News! CONFIRMED: Disney Announces Full Schedule for Destination D23 Event Disney confirmed that there will be panels about Disney attractions, entertainment, and experiences (including some details about Disney’s cruise ships), so it’s safe to say that at least one of the upcoming presentations will cover the new and exciting plans on the horizon. 12. So you’re rolling into EPCOT with a stroller, thinking you’ve got this whole day mapped out — and then you hit the Mexico Pavilion and everything falls apart. Mexico Pavilion There’s a weird, very specific rule at this World Showcase stop that throws off a lot of guests. It’s one of those “I wouldn’t have known this unless someone told me” kind of situations. If you’re planning to meet Donald Duck or take your kids on the Gran Fiesta Tour, this is the stroller warning you’ll be glad you got. You Can’t Park Your Stroller at the Mexico Pavilion Let’s just get right to it. Even though it might feel like everyone else is doing it, you’re not actually allowed to park your stroller in front of the Mexico Pavilion. That includes the spot right by the Donald Duck meet-and-greet. Donald meeting guests in Mexico Yes, we know, the path right there is wide. There’s open space. It looks like stroller parking should go there. But Cast Members will ask you to move your stroller if you leave it in this area — and if you step into the pyramid or hop into the Donald line, chances are high you’ll come back out and your stroller will have been relocated. (Or worse, you’ll have to go find it because it’s been moved somewhere mysterious.) Mexico Pavilion Instead, the official stroller parking for this area is…in Norway. Norway Pavilion Yep, really. You’ll need to wheel your stroller next door and leave it by the Norway Pavilion before heading back over to Mexico. It’s not a huge walk, but it can feel challenging if you’re already wrangling little kids, trying to make a Lightning Lane window, or chasing after Donald like he’s the last character on earth. But Why Though? We know what you’re thinking: Why can’t stroller parking be right by the attraction or character you’re heading to? Especially when literally every other pavilion seems to let you park closer? Mexico Pavilion construction walls It’s mostly about space and safety. That area outside the Mexico pyramid gets super congested, especially with the meet-and-greet right in the middle of it. Add in families parking strollers, guests walking up the ramp, and folks trying to snap pics of the pyramid, and it becomes a traffic jam waiting to happen. Disney’s solution? Keep it clear. Mexico Pavilion And honestly, once you know this rule, it’s easy to plan around. But if you don’t know, it feels like a weird, random gotcha moment — especially when you see dozens of other people doing exactly what you were about to do. Here’s What We Recommend Instead Park in Norway Before You Get to Mexico: When you’re walking around World Showcase, just make it a habit: heading to Mexico? Detour through Norway, park the stroller there, and then walk back. It adds maybe 2 minutes, and it saves you the stress of being asked to move it (or having it moved without your knowledge). Don’t Assume “Well, Everyone Else Is Doing It” Means It’s Allowed: This one’s sneaky because a lot of guests leave their strollers near the Mexico Pavilion without realizing they’re breaking a rule. But Cast Members do monitor this area, and sometimes you’ll come back and your stroller is just gone. Or worse, you’ll get that awkward “Hi, sorry, you’ll need to move this over to Norway” convo while you’re mid-meltdown or snack situation. If You Forget, Just Be Nice and Move It: Nobody likes getting flagged for breaking a rule at Disney World—especially when it’s an unmarked rule like this. But the Cast Members aren’t trying to ruin your day; they’re just keeping things safe and moving. If you accidentally park too close, just roll with it (literally) and take your stroller to the proper area. Mexico Pavilion Bonus Tip: Use the Opportunity for a Pit Stop in Norway Since you’ll already be over there, Norway’s a great spot to regroup before tackling the rest of the World Showcase. Bathrooms, snacks, and that iconic Frozen Ever After ride are right there. Frozen Ever After It’s a Small Rule, But It Can Save You a Big Hassle This isn’t a big, flashy rule you’ll find in a guidebook or on a planning website. But it’s the kind of detail that can totally throw your plans if you’re not expecting it. Nobody wants to backtrack with a tired toddler or wonder where their stroller ended up because they didn’t know to park in Norway. So now you know. Mexico Pavilion = no stroller parking. Norway = your stroller’s temporary home. In the meantime, stay tuned to DFB for the latest Disney news and more. 13. Disney World’s resorts are packed with hidden gems that even some die-hard fans miss. AbracadaBar Locals definitely have their favorite quiet corners, and they’re not exactly shouting about them from the rooftops. But hey, we think you deserve to know — so we’re spilling the tea on four under-the-radar hotel spots that are perfect for a breather, a bite, or just a little escape from the park chaos. The Solarium at Disney’s Beach Club Resort This is one of those spots you walk by 100 times without realizing it’s open to you. The Crescent Solarium The Solarium is tucked near the lobby of Disney’s Beach Club Resort, and it’s basically a giant sunroom with cozy chairs, quiet vibes, and barely a soul around. It’s bright, peaceful, and seriously feels like someone’s fancy beach house lounge. Whether you’re taking a break from EPCOT or just hopping over from the BoardWalk, this is a perfect place to catch your breath. Bring a book, a snack from Beach Club Marketplace, and thank us later. Voyageurs’ Lounge at Disney’s Riviera Resort The Riviera is known for its high-end vibes and rooftop dining, but there’s another little treasure that flies under the radar. Voyageur’s Lounge Voyageurs’ Lounge is located just off the lobby, and it has a calm, library-like feel with travel-themed decor, old books, and plenty of comfy seating. It’s quiet, elegant, and somehow always cool inside—even in the middle of summer. This is where you go when you want a grown-up moment at Disney. Bonus tip: stop by Le Petit Café right next door, grab a pastry or espresso, and make this your chill zone between Skyliner rides. The Lesser-Known Fireplace at Wilderness Lodge You might not exactly be searching for a comfy, crackling, toasty fireplace while you’re vacationing in Orlando (you know…the SUNSHINE state), but you should. Wilderness Lodge Fireplace Wilderness Lodge has an abundance of fireplaces, but the one that really grabs all the attention is the 82-foot-tall showstopper in the center of the lobby. HOWEVER, right above the entrance doors and on the SECOND FLOOR of the resort, there’s a secret (and UBER cozy) alcove where you can find a peaceful fireplace, chairs to sit and read for a spell, and a breathtaking view across the lobby. It’s quiet, hidden in plain sight, and perfect for people-watching or just taking a break from the parks. ©Disney Tourist Blog Citricos Lounge at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa You don’t need a reservation, and you don’t need to dress up — just walk in and order something delicious. Cítricos Lounge Citricos Lounge might be the best-kept dining secret at the Grand Floridian. It shares a space with Citricos, the resort’s upscale Mediterranean-inspired restaurant, but the lounge area is first-come, first-served and totally chill. You can order straight off the full Citricos menu and the cocktails are next level. It’s elegant but low-key, and a fantastic alternative if you’re craving something special but didn’t snag a table at one of the popular sit-down spots. AbracadaBar at Disney’s BoardWalk Inn Here’s one you probably have heard of, but the backstory is what makes it really special. Before Abracadabar became the magician-themed lounge it is today, this space was actually a candy shop called Seashore Sweets. Seashore Sweets That wasn’t even the original plan. Back in the ‘90s, this was supposed to be a lounge all along — intended to serve guests at both Flying Fish and (RIP) Spoodles. But then-CEO Michael Eisner thought a salt water taffy shop would be a better fit for the turn-of-the-century Boardwalk theme. Cool idea on paper. In reality? Not ideal placement — sandwiched between two restaurants and literally sharing their restrooms. Fancy dinner one minute, wandering into an ice cream shop looking for a bathroom the next. Seashore Sweets finally closed in 2016, and a few months later, Abracadabar opened. And honestly, it feels like it was meant to be there all along. AbracadaBar The vibe is moody, magical, and full of little hidden nods to turn-of-the-century magicians. The drinks have fun names, the theming is next-level, and if you go at the right time of day, it’s a pretty chill hangout spot. The bar practically tells a story the more you look around—exactly what a Disney lounge should do. There you go — five Disney World hotel spots locals don’t want everyone flocking to. These aren’t just “nice places to sit.” They’re actual hidden gems that make a big difference when you need a break from the crowds, the noise, or just want to feel like you’ve stumbled onto something exclusive. You don’t have to be a guest at these resorts to check them out, so take advantage while they’re still relatively secret. In the meantime, stay tuned to DFB for the latest Disney news and more. 14. Now is a GREAT time of year to head to Disney Springs, because there are even MORE dining options than usual! Disney Springs Now through August 10th, you can experience Flavors of Florida in Disney Springs, which is where multiple of the most iconic and popular restaurants in the district introduce exclusive menu offerings to celebrate summer! We’ve been trying LOADS of the different offerings today, and these are just some of the ones you’ll want to consider adding to your “must-try” list. Chicken Guy! Chicken Guy! is one of our favorite spots in Disney Springs, especially for picky eaters. During Flavors of Florida, you can try the new Key Lime Shake for $6.99. This is Creamy vanilla ice cream blended with Key lime custard and graham cracker crumbs, topped with whipped cream. Key Lime Shake We loved the pieces of graham crackers throughout the shake, because they added a great texture. It’s extremely smooth, sweet (but the key lime flavor isn’t overpowering), and it’s hard to beat this deal! It’s easy to walk around with as you shop and explore, and if you’re a fan of key lime pie, this is certainly one to try out. Earl of Sandwich Over at Earl of Sandwich, you can grab TWO new treats! The first is the Earl’s Big Flounder Sandwich for $10.99, and it’s Breaded flounder fillets, tartar sauce, and dill pickles topped with Earl’s Signature Coleslaw. Earl’s Big Flounder Sandwich We’ll say, the breaded founder fillets are good here, but the texture is a little strange since the breading is more like a Tostino’s Pizza Roll. There’s also a LARGE amount of coleslaw on here, so if you’re a fan of fish with coleslaw, you’ll be a fan, but otherwise, you may want to pick some of it off. We think it was a little too adventurous for our taste, and we would have preferred it to be a little more traditional seafood-esque, but if you love all these ingredients, we say give it a try! Good, but not our favorite You can also grab the Key Lime Cheesecake Danish for $9.99, which is an Oven-baked pastry with a light Key lime cheesecake filling. Key Lime Cheesecake Danish This was fantastic! It’s buttery, flaky, and the inside is just underbaked enough that it makes it the perfect soft texture. We will say that there’s only a small tidbit of the key lime flavor — it’s more like a cheese danish. However, we feel $9.99 is too expensive for a treat of this size, even though we loved it. Delicious, but too expensive If you’re planning on getting it, we say it’s worth it, but it’s a TRUE treat because of that price. Amorette’s Patisserie Over at one of our favorite dessert spots, think about picking up the Orange Mousse for $8. This is Orange mousse layered with orange jam, citrus chiffon and a Grand Marnier-soaked hazelnut financier. Orange Mousse The main orange mousse tastes like an orange dreamsicle that is coated in chocolate, then it’s filled with an orange marmalade. The orange flavor is strong, but it’s a lighter flavor, not a smack you in the face kind of orange flavor. It’s sweet, not overly tart, but we’re not sure how we feel about the mousse — it’s kind of like a jello texture but with creaminess to it. A lot of flavors going on here! The moist cake on the bottom has nuts in it and has a strong spiced hazelnut flavor. However, we don’t think it goes well with the rest of the treat, because it overpowers the flavor. It was good, but we don’t think it’d be something that we’d get again. Coca-Cola Rooftop Bar If you’re looking for a refreshing drink, grab the Tangy Watermelon Sunrise for $12.50! It’s made with Lemonade, watermelon purée, chamoy sauce, and topped with a lemonade/pickle juice foam. Tangy Watermelon Sunrise This thing is SPICY! It’s tangy, will make your mouth pucker, but we LOVED it! It’s nonalcoholic, but if you were to add some mezcal to this, you’d have yourself a watermelon margarita. The watermelon is very subtle and soft, similar to a watermelon Jolly Rancher. Definitely has some spice to it! However, if you don’t do well with spice, we wouldn’t recommend — it’ll BURN the back of your throat, and you may not be able to sip on it for very long. eet by Maneet Chauhan There’s a new drink available at eet for the event! Hank’s Gulf Coast Sunset is $15.95 and is made of Vodka, orange juice, candied orange syrup, and a splash of grenadine. What’s extra special about this drink is that they have different little octopi that go on top! We got to choose ours, but we’re unsure if that’s normally the case, or if one will be chosen for you. Look at all of them! This tastes like an alcoholic orange Dreamsicle. It’s very sweet, and the most prominent flavor is the orange juice; however, you can clearly taste the sharpness from the vodka. We only drank a little bit of it before we started feeling it, so it IS pretty strong. You barely taste the grenadine, but it is there ever so slightly, especially on the back end. Hank’s Gulf Coast Sunset You can kind of taste it on the back end. If you enjoy sweet drinks, this one is for you (or if you just really love the little animals)! Sunshine Churros We also grabbed the Orange Jelly Churro Donut for $7.99! This is a churro donut shaken in sugar, topped with orange marmalade jelly, a dollop of whipped cream, and an edible orange gummy slice. Orange Jelly Churro Donut This was good, but nothing too special. It’s essentially a round churro filled with orange marmalade. The churro was actually fantastic — crispy and sugary on the outside and soft and fluffy on the inside. It takes about 3 minutes to make it, and we’re not sure if it was made to order, but it did taste pretty fresh. The orange marmalade was sweet and filled with orange peel, but it’s probably just the marmalade you can get in a jar from the store (not that that’s bad, it’s just not homemade), and it paired well with the churro. 15. The Disney Parks are certainly always evolving, and “The Most Magical Place On Earth” is about to undergo a pretty big change! Cinderella Castle Disney Starlight: Dream the Night Away is Magic Kingdom’s newest nighttime parade, and is set to debut at the theme park on July 20th, 2025. This new parade will use “the latest technology to tell new stories about the characters you love” in a spectacle inspired by other Disney nighttime parades like the Main Street Electrical Parade and SpectroMagic. Featuring lively Disney music, live performers, and vibrant floats carrying characters like Tinker Bell, Peter Pan, Isabella from Encanto, Moana, the Disney Princesses, and so much more, this new parade will be a bit different from the Magic Kingdom parades of old — creating TWO major changes. While parades aren’t a new concept at Magic Kingdom, Disney Starlight will be a bit different than some others thanks to a few changes Disney is making to accommodate the new show. For starters, the parade is switching directions from a normal parade route. ©Disney Instead of ending on Main Street, U.S.A., Disney World confirmed the parade will START on Main Street, U.S.A., and travel towards Frontierland. The parade route is essentially the same as other parade routes — simply in reverse. So expect similar blocked off areas and the same rules and regulations. The major difference here is that if you camp out along Main Street, this time you’ll be seeing the parade FIRST rather than having to wait as it makes its way towards you. ©Disney The biggest change this parade will cause, however, has to do with Disney World Annual Passholders. Beginning July 20th, Annual Passholders visiting Magic Kingdom at any time of the day (including after 2 PM) MUST have a theme park reservation. Disney is expecting Magic Kingdom’s demand to go up thanks to Disney Starlight, and is adjusting as such. Disney World Annual Pass Of note, this rule change only impacts Magic Kingdom, so don’t worry about entering Disney’s Animal Kingdom, EPCOT, and Disney’s Hollywood Studios after 2 PM without a theme park reservation. Park hopping is also unaffected, so if you go to one of the other three parks and want to go to Magic Kingdom in the afternoon or evening after going to your first park, you’re perfectly fine to do so. Park hopping will still be subject to availability, though — and if Magic Kingdom is as busy as Disney thinks it will be, this will be something you’ll need to be aware of. Magic Kingdom park entrance crowds Disney Starlight will take place nightly at 9 PM and 11 PM at Magic Kingdom (except on evenings Magic Kingdom hosts Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party or evenings with inclement weather) and will feature floats inspired by “Disney and Pixar stories such as Moana, Peter Pan, Encanto, Frozen, Pinocchio and more.” Disney Starlight debuts July 20th in Magic Kingdom ©Disney We’ll be there on July 20th, covering the new parade! 18. Well, it’s finally happened. New Test Track sign! In June 2024, Test Track closed in EPCOT to make way for a reimagined version of the ride. Now, it’s STILL going to be called Test Track, but Disney promised the ride would be a lot different. Well, the new version of Test Track is HERE and we got to ride via an early preview ahead of its reopening …and let’s just say we have some thoughts. So let’s talk about Test Track BEFORE the re-theme. The previous version of the ride had a pre-show area where you could design a car for testing to see how your design fares on the driving course. Then you’d ride your car and at the end of the ride, you were told how well your design did. Well, the ride’s theme has changed! One of the first things you’ll notice that’s different is the ride’s sign OUTSIDE the ride. New sign Other than that, the rest of the entrance is very similar to the previous version. You’ve got a Single Rider Entrance, the Standby Entrance, and the Lightning Lane. Ride entrance Remember that whole interactive thing in the queue where you design your car? Well, that’s completely gone now. But the queue is still pretty cool. Queue You’ll find some sweet futuristic concept car models in the queue, though. Our future ride Here’s a look at the loading area. Loading area The ride vehicles have also been updated and look a lot like their old World of Motion counterparts (this was the ride that preceded Test Track in this pavilion). New ride vehicles Okay, let’s go! And we’re off! The new ride also features six new show scenes celebrating vehicles and their makers plus a new outdoor scene celebrating technological advances in transportation. It’s “Fun to Be Free” from the original World of Motion plays as an instrumental after the narrator says the words “It’s Fun to Be Free,” but the original lyrics are not performed. The new show scenes depicting homes and home life have a real 1990s Innoventions vibe. We’re getting Innoventions vibes We have to also point out that there’s a new ride smell, too. It’s sort of like a pine smell, but not like Pine Sol. It’s more like a nice candle pine scent. We know Disney is all about those scents. The new scenes are very reminiscent of old school EPCOT and we think hardcore EPCOT fans are going to appreciate that. There’s a pine scent The ride does mention something about horizons or a new horizon as a throwback to another classic long-gone EPCOT attraction, Horizons. The scene before you head outside is a GORGEOUS dome projection of a futuristic city. This is PEAK EPCOT, y’all. LOVE this The exterior part of the ride hasn’t changed much, but there is a sign now that shows you how fast you’re going, which we thought was pretty cool. If you were worried about the ride being slower, well, it still hits 65 mph, making it the fastest ride in Disney World. Still the fastest ride in Disney World. Also gone are those interactive games that were at the ride’s exit. However, you’ll still be able to see your ride photo at the end. Don’t forget your ride photo One thing that hasn’t changed is the ride’s sponsor. General Motors is still the ride’s sponsor — the company has sponsored all iterations of the Test Track ride since 1999. After you look at your ride photo, you can check out the General Motors showroom. General Motors showroom We feel like this is a nice modern upgrade from the previous version of the ride. Is it as good as the original with the crash test dummies? Maybe not, but nostalgia will always have us longing for that version of the ride. Honestly, we thought this was a worthy update, though. We were excited to ride this new version of Test Track and can’t wait for everyone else to get a chance to ride it when it reopens on July 22nd. Stay tuned to DFB for more. 19. Whether you’re heading to Disney World, hopping on a cruise, or squeezing in a quick weekend road trip, travel is chaotic enough without adding “forgot to pack smart” to the list. Welcome to Disney World! We’re always keeping an eye out for products that make your life easier when you’re away from home, and these seven picks do exactly that. If you’re traveling at all this year, these are the travel essentials you’ll want to have on hand. DISCLOSURE: This post may contain affiliate links, meaning when you click the links and make a purchase, we receive a commission. Travel Hangers Yes, we’re recommending hangers. Trust us—if you’ve ever tried to hang dry a shirt in your hotel room using a weird door handle or a shower rod, you know. Travel Hangers These foldable coat hangers are compact enough to toss in your luggage without taking up much space, but they’re sturdy enough to actually hold your clothes (even the heavier stuff). Travel Hanger They’ve got a non-slip texture, so your wet shirts won’t slide right off. They come in a 10-pack, fold down super small, and are perfect for Disney trips, cruises, RVs, or even just organizing your suitcase outfits once you arrive. View on Amazon Loop Switch 2 Adjustable Ear Plugs ©Amazon We all love the Disney magic, but sometimes you just need a break from the noise. That’s where these Loop Switch 2 earplugs come in. You can switch between three different noise-reduction levels with a tiny dial right on the earplug—no app, no batteries, no drama. Use Quiet Mode for blocking out noise on the plane or in the hotel. Switch to Engage Mode to carry on convos without pulling them out. Or pop into Experience Mode when you want to tone things down at a parade or live show without muting the fun entirely. View on Amazon BAGSMART Travel Toiletry Bag BAGSMART Travel Toiletry Bag Let’s be real — digging through a toiletry bag that turned into a black hole during TSA check-in is the worst. This BAGSMART bag solves that. It has a wide opening up top and stands up on its own, so your shampoo and lotions don’t spill all over everything. Bagsmart Toiletry Bag There’s even a section for wet items in case you toss in a damp toothbrush last minute. We love this one for trips that involve hotel stays, because it actually makes getting ready feel organized (and less like a scavenger hunt). View on Amazon One Beat Flat Plug Power Strip Flat Plug Power Strip Ever tried charging five devices with only one outlet in your hotel room? Yeah, not happening. This flat plug power strip turns one outlet into seven usable charging ports (3 regular outlets, 2 USB-A, and 2 USB-C). It’s cruise-approved, has no surge protector (which is important for cruise rules), and the cord is braided and durable, so it doesn’t fray in your bag. It’s especially great for families who have lots of gadgets—phones, tablets, watches, MagicBand+ chargers…you get it. View on Amazon JISULIFE Handheld Portable Turbo Fan ©Amazon Florida heat doesn’t play, especially in the summer. This handheld fan from JISULIFE is turbocharged, has five speed settings, and it’s quiet. So yes, you can use it while waiting in long lines without annoying everyone around you. It runs up to 16 hours on one charge and can be used handheld or a tabletop fan. It’s also small enough to clip to your park bag, and honestly, it just makes the heat way more tolerable. View on Amazon BAGAIL 8 Set Packing Cubes ©Amazon Packing cubes might feel like overkill—until you try them. These BAGAIL cubes come in a set of eight, and they’re lightweight, durable, and help you actually find your clothes without flipping your whole suitcase inside out. There’s mesh so you can see what’s in each one, and the zippers are smooth and easy to use. They’re perfect for Disney trips where you want to pack by outfit or day (or separate your park gear from your pool gear). View on Amazon Travel Backpack Carry-on Backpack This backpack is approved as a personal item by airlines, but it feels like a mini suitcase. It’s got a padded laptop compartment, built-in charging hole, a dry-wet section, and a hidden anti-theft pocket in the back for your valuables. You can wear it or tuck the straps away and carry it like a duffel. It even comes with two clear waterproof toiletry bags that are TSA-friendly. Perfect for flying, road trips, or even just as your park bag if you like to roll prepared. 20. As we continue to listen to guests, we’ve made updates at Disneyland Resort and Walt Disney World to make planning your vacation simpler. Now, it’s easier than ever to find dining reservations for whatever you’re craving on a whim or visit that bucket list location you’ve been dreaming about for your next Disney trip. Updates to Make Planning Easier Use an enhanced availability calendar to view all available reservations for a single location for those hard-to-get spots View all available reservations at all locations across a date range to make planning dining easier for your vacation Filter and sort dining availability based on your preferences, including more specific time frames that work for you and nearby locations These features improve on guest-favorite enhancements to simplify the planning experience, and are now available on the Disneyland app* for Disneyland and the My Disney Experience app for Disney World, or on the web at Disneyland.com or DisneyWorld.com. Learn how to make the most of your next visit with these new features, no matter how your crew chooses to explore all the dining Disney Parks have to offer. For the Bucket-List Dining Spot View all dates with available reservations any dining location Improved labeling for Character Dining So, you’ve got one specific dining location at the top of your family’s must-do list. Now, searching on the app makes it simple to see all dates with available reservation timeslots at any individual restaurant on a handy calendar. Select your dining location and party size to see an overview of which dates have reservations available, indicated with a green dot. Then, plan your vacation accordingly. This is a great feature for guests looking to dine at some of our most popular locations — even those hard-to-snag dining spots. Bucket list dining reservation: acquired! For character dining experiences, look for the Mickey icon and a label on available reservation times. For the Plan Every Detail in Advance Family Search availability for ALL dining locations across a date range Custom time slider to target exact dining times You’re the one in the family who has an hour-by-hour spreadsheet in the works immediately after your trip is booked. Trip planning gurus, this update has your name all over it. The expanded search by date range allows you to view availability for ALL dining locations across multiple dates, rather than only one location across a date range. Use the tabs at the top to look at different dates within your search range. We’ve also updated the time range search to find more specific times that fit with your plans. To customize the time, move the slider in your search to select your range down to the hour. Remember: Disneyland Resort guests can start booking dining reservations up to 60 days in advance. If you’re staying with us at a Disney Resort hotel at Disney World, start booking 60 days in advance for your entire length of stay (up to a 10-night stay). For the Go-With-The-Flow Group Join a walk-up list or place a mobile order from select Disney World table service locations when searching for same-day dining reservations Improved sorting and filtering for nearby locations Your group lets pixie dust (and your stomachs) guide where you go next at the parks. Now when you search for same-day dining reservations, easily join a walk-up list or place a mobile order to-go at Disney World table service locations that offer it. Improved sorting and filtering means you can search by theme park and nearby resort areas to narrow down your options by location, or filter by Disney Springs at Disney World or Downtown Disney District at Disneyland. If you’re using a Disney Dining plan at Disney World, there’s a filter for you, too! Filter by which locations accept credits and how many you’ll need. Cool new feature alert: Whether you need to see what your menu options look like or get a general overview of the vibes, check out the new media gallery to get a visual sneak peek. Look for the ring around a location’s thumbnail photo to open the gallery (Disney World only). There’s nothing like a visit to a Disney park. Whether you’re celebrating everything the Disneyland Resort 70th Celebration has to offer or experiencing all the fun of Cool Kid Summer at Walt Disney World, it’s easier than ever to experience dining in a way that works best for you and your family. Stay in-the-know with Disney Eats for the latest in what’s tasty, and be sure to download the Disneyland app or the My Disney Experience app (for Disney World) when you’re ready to start planning. *Message, data and roaming rates may apply for the use of the Disneyland app. Availability subject to handset limitations and features may vary by handset or service provider. 21. The stream of haunted houses for Universal’s Halloween Horror Nights continues to trickle out, and Friday’s announcement sounds like a cool relief for folks living through another Florida summer. The maze, the seventh announced for the 2025 event, is called Galkn: Monsters of the North, and it looks cool, in the literal way. “In a remote northern village, a wicked being rises from the dead, bringing a horde of monsters and demons from the fjords to wreak havoc on the townspeople.,” reads a post on Universal Orlando‘s social media platforms. “You’ll face icy, horned, winged and wolfish fiends that gradually merge into one giant horror. Then you’ll try to escape the belly of the beast.” It’s the fifth (and final) original house announced within a week for HHN, which begins at Universal Studios Florida theme park on Aug. 19. Previously announced originals include Grave of the Flesh (featuring flesh-eaters); Dolls: Let’s Play Dead (created by twisted little girl); Hatchet and Chains: Demon Bounty Hunters (spawn of Sinister Sinema 2); and El Artista: A Spanish Haunting (spooky paintings). For mazes tied to existing intellectual properties, there will be “Fallout,” inspired by a videogame and Prime streaming series, and Jason Universe, born out of “Friday the 13th” characters. Universal officials says “Five Nights at Freddy’s” will be part of 2025 Horror Nights, but a house has not been announced for that movie. There will be 10 mazes in this year’s HHN, plus five scare zones and as-yet-unannounced live entertainment. 22. Disney Springs holds a special place in our hearts! Disney Springs Disney’s shopping and dining district is home to some of our favorite restaurants, snacks, and bars! It also has one of our favorite events, Flavors of Florida, which is happening right now! Come with us to try one of the newest meals from our favorite festivals. Disney Springs has so many amazing foods and drinks that it can be hard to keep up with them all! Right now, the Flavors of Florida event is adding to all of the delicious bites from June 27th through August 20th, 2025. The event showcases more than 90 limited-time dishes and drinks from 45+ restaurants! 2025 Flavors of Florida Event Guide One of those restaurants is D-Luxe Burger, so we stopped by to check out their limited-time burger! This quick service serves up gourmet hamburgers, chicken burgers, veggie burgers, artisan gelato shakes, and more. D-Luxe Burger We grabbed the new Glowing Oak Burger for $15.49! It’s made with two signature-blend, pressed, beef patties topped with pimento cheese, a fried green tomato, bacon, and jalapeno jam. All served on a cheddar-chive biscuit! The special menu signs! To start off, this burger was… a lot…but we think it was a lot in a good way! Before we tried it, we were concerned about how the biscuit bun would hold the actual burger, but it did a really good job. That being said, the burger was a bit on the dry side, meaning it wasn’t overly juicy. The Glowing Oak Burger The biscuit is very buttery, but the cheddar and chives weren’t a super prominent flavor. The burger patties are more of a smash burger thickness, but there are two, so you still have a lot of burger. The patties were also nice and juicy once you bit into them. A closer look! The pimento cheese was creamy and cheesy. Plus, it melts a bit on the burger patty, making it really delicious. The jalapeño jam is sweet and vinegary. It isn’t spicy at all, but you can taste the jalapeño flavor with no heat. The fried green tomato was lightly battered and was very tender with a bit of sweetness to it! A look at the inside of the burger! The bacon was nice and fatty, which added extra depth to the burger. It felt like the epitome of a Southern Cheeseburger in the best way! It was a lot, but it worked really well together. It was heavy enough that it could be split between two people if you got a side of fries as well. We loved this! This is just another treat that has blown us away from the Flavor of Florida event, and we can’t wait to munch on these Sunshine State-inspired eats all summer long. 23. When it comes to dining at Disneyland Resort, you’ve got a TON of options. Want something quick and easy? You’ve got it. Something middle of the road and comforting? Yep, that too. And if you’re looking for something upscale and luxurious, you can find that as well. Disneyland We recently stopped by Hearthstone Lounge at Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel to see what was cookin’, and now we’re bringing you our FULL review. Is it worth a stop on your next trip to the Happiest Place on Earth? Find out here! Atmosphere The Hearthstone Lounge is at Disney’s Grand Californian resort. It’s known for its dark and cozy vibes where you can curl up with a drink by the fireplace. The fireplace! It also has large windows and a big walk-up bar where you can grab a quick bite or a drink to go. It’s not a huge dining area, but it’s chatty and lively without being overwhelming. Seating Some of the seating is a traditional tabletop, while other options include couches or booth seating. Each table has warm, subtle lighting with dark, glossy tables to keep the atmosphere cozy. Our table! But enough about the restaurant — what’s on the menu here?! Menu When it comes to the menu, Hearthstone offers hearty appetizers, artisan pizzas, and desserts. You can also find craft cocktails and specialty beverages, as well as bottled mineral water. The menu! The restaurant also features an extensive wine and beer list for anyone looking for several options. Yum! In addition to the starters and pizzas, you can also find salads, sandwiches, and hearty entrees like the New York Prime Steak, Truffle Mac and Cheese, and the Slow Roasted Prime Rib. The food! And now, onto the main event — the food! Eats First up, we grabbed the Chorizo Poutine for $24. This is made with seasoned steak fries, chorizo gravy, white cheddar curds, and sweet & hot peppers! The Chorizo Poutine This thing was huge! It was easily our favorite of the night. The steak fries that weren’t covered by the toppings were nice and crispy. The chorizo had a decent spice to it, which we appreciated. It wasn’t overwhelming, but if you don’t like spice, it might be too much. A look at the fries! The chorizo has a nice pork flavor as well, which adds some great depth. The peppers were sweeter than hot. It was all topped with sharp cheddar cheese, but because of all of the flavors, it didn’t stand out too much. Some cheese and chorizo! For our main entree, we tried the Short Rib Lasagna for $36! It has spinach pasta dough, braised beef short rib, bechamel, a trio of cheese, mascarpone, and tomato ragu. It’s gorgeous! Luckily for us, the short rib was tender with a rich and savory beefy flavor! It was overly cheesy, which might be too much for some people (like it was for our reporter.) The ratio of short rib pasta and cheese wasn’t as even as we would have liked it to be. A look at the inside The short rib was the best part of this dish to us, so we would’ve liked for it to shine a bit more. The sauce was more so chunks of tomato and a very more for more of a liquid base, which made it hard to get lots of tomato flavor with each bite. We can see this one being a great way to warm up on a cool evening. Have a bite! For a little something sweet, we grabbed the Cookie Butter Crème Brûlée for $15. Wow! It’s made with vanilla crème brûlée, chantilly cream, and cookie butter biscotti. We are big creme brûlée fans, and this was no exception. It was really just a traditional crème brûlée with a slight caramel flavor. The vanilla was perfectly rich, and the chantilly cream made it even lighter and fluffier. Have a bite! We would recommend scooping the crème brûlée with the biscotti to make it even better. Drinks To wash it all down, we grabbed the 70th Celebration Cocktail for $22. It’s made with Michter’s American Whiskey, Domaine Canton Ginger Liqueur, lemon juice, honey syrup, ginger ale, and bitters. The 70th Celebration Cocktail This was essentially a Moscow mule but with whisky! There wasn’t any actual mint in the drink, but they used mint leaves as a garnish, which added hints of fresh mint with each sip. This was sweeter than a traditional mule, thanks to the honey syrup. A closer look at the mint! There were hints of toffee and caramel from the whisky as well. If you’re a fan of Old Fashions or Moscow Mules, we would recommend this! It’s here to celebrate Disneyland’s 70th Anniversary, so it won’t be around forever. Nosh or Not This Disneyland restaurant is a must-visit if… You’re looking for a relaxing atmosphere Want an easy walk-up beverage Or need a hearty, comforting meal You should skip this Disneyland spot if… You’re not already at the Grand Californian Hotel Want something quick Or want to stay on a budget Overall This spot is one we love to hang out at every time we’re at the Grand Californian, and these new items prove that it’s still worth stopping by! We can’t wait to head back soon when we need a break from the parks. In the meantime, we’ll be on the lookout for more restaurant updates from Disneyland and beyond. 24. Flavors of Florida has officially kicked off at Disney Springs, and we’re bringing you our reviews of the BEST eats and drinks you need to try. Flavors of Florida From June 27th to August 10th, 2025, eateries and restaurants all around Disney Springs are showcasing MORE THAN 90 limited-time dishes and drinks from 45+ restaurants for this event — including Gideon’s Bakehouse, which is serving up some sweet treats. Let’s check them out! Gideon’s Bakehouse is serving up two exclusive Flavors of Florida treats, so of course, we got them both! We’re kicking things off with the Key Lime Ice Box Pie, which you can get for $10. It’s made with layers of Key lime curd with a Key lime cream filling and graham cracker crust. Key Lime Ice Box Pie This guy does not do well in the heat, so they recommend eating it immediately after you get it, and it’s easy to see why. There is a sweet and crumbly graham cracker crust on the bottom, and then it is topped with a Key lime custard — almost like a mousse. It is very light and airy and has a great amount of Key lime flavor. There is some tartness to it, and it is also very sweet. Then it is drizzled with some Key lime curd and topped with graham cracker crust crumbles. This was a treat There is also a bit of the curd between the crust and the mousse. The curd has a very strong Key lime flavor and is silky smooth. We loved how much Key lime flavor there was in this guy, and the lighter consistency of the filling is very interesting. It is definitely lighter than a normal Key lime pie. The crust is sweet and a bit crunchy, and we really enjoyed it, and also wish there was a bit more filling to crust ratio. Overall, this was a really tasty Key lime treat if you are okay with a lighter filling. Just be sure to eat this right after you get it! It melts quickly! We also grabbed the Lemon Cold Brew, which is $6.50 for a small size. This is locally roasted coffee beans and house-made lemonade. Lemon Cold Brew Our reporter, who tried this, didn’t quite know how lemonade and cold brew would work together, but it really surprised her! It is definitely more cold brew in the cold brew to lemonade ratio, and the lemonade ends up tasting like a lemon syrup rather than full-on lemonade. You still have the bitterness of the coffee, but we didn’t taste a lot of sourness from the lemonade. It is a very sweet lemon flavor, and it is a fairly light flavor. You can taste it, but it doesn’t whack you in the taste buds. You can get it in a small or large size.
