  3. We hope you brought your appetite, because a TON of new menu items just dropped at a Disney World hotel restaurant. Contempo Cafe When it comes to deciding where and what to eat at Disney World, how do you choose?! From fancy, sit-down meals that cost an arm and a leg to snack stands and everything in between — the choices can be overwhelming. But, over at Disney’s Contemporary Resort, Contempo Cafe is serving up some NEW breakfast and lunch items that we couldn’t wait to tell you about. We stopped by Contempo Cafe to check out some new menu items that just dropped! There are a few breakfast items to try, along with some sweet treats and loaded fries. Let’s kick things off with the Cinnamon Sugar Croissant Muffin, which you can get for $4.79. Cinnamon Sugar Croissant Muffin We LOVED this thing. It’s completely coated in cinnamon sugar, but it’s light enough that it doesn’t linger or overpower whenever you actually bite into it. The croissant muffin just kind of flakes off in layers, which is such a fun texture. The center of it is filled with chocolate ganache, which is the only part that’s really thick and harder to cut through. So once you reach that, you might have a little bit more of a resistance to your bite, but it won’t last for long because it’ll melt in your mouth. LOTS of ganache For something a bit heartier, we picked up the Bacon, Egg, and Cheese Multigrain Croissant for $8.99. Bacon, Egg, and Cheese Multigrain Croissant It’s hard to go wrong with a breakfast sandwich, and this was very, very good. The bacon was light and crispy with just a little bit of chew to it. The eggs are nice and fluffy, and the cheddar cheese is already melted onto them, which is a bonus. It’s delicious. It is a little messy, though, trying to pick it up and eat it because it’s on a croissant, so the eggs tend to fall out. It’s also served with a very heaping portion of potato tots, which were nice and crispy. A solid breakfast option! Next up, we tried the Passion Fruit-Raspberry Tart, which you can get for $6.79. It’s a vanilla tart shell with raspberry and passion fruit curd, and whipped cream. Passion Fruit-Raspberry Tart This was a great fruity treat. It reminded us of a cheesecake with the passion fruit curd. It was really good for what it was, but we don’t know that we would necessarily want to go out of our way for this. It’s very pretty, so it does get points for that. We didn’t taste too much of a prominent passion fruit flavor; it was mostly just tropical tasting with a hint of tartness from the raspberry. Fruity and delightful We also grabbed the Banana Cream and Caramel Trifle. This was $5.99 and is layers of banana “whipped cream,” streusel, and caramel. This is a plant-based dessert. Banana Cream and Caramel Trifle This was an item on the Chef Mickey’s menu, but it was so popular over there that they decided to bring it to Contempo Cafe as well. It’s kind of like a banana pudding dessert mixed with apple pie filling, thanks to the caramel. The streusel added a much-needed crunch to break up the texture. The banana is nice and fluffy and kind of melts in your mouth too, and combined with the caramel is a really fantastic combination. Delicious For lunch, we picked up the new Loaded Cheese Fries for $6.49. These are French fries topped with bacon, cheddar, scallions, jalapeños, and house-made ranch dressing. Loaded Cheese Fries We’re happy to say that we can confirm the loaded cheese fries are, in fact, as good as they look. However, they were still putting the finishing touches on the menu, so ours only came with the melted cheese and bacon. It’s hard to go wrong with loaded cheese fries, and they hit the nail on the head with these — even for only being cheese and bacon. They were really, really good. The fries were crispy with some soggy bits here and there from sitting under the cheese, but we didn’t mind at all. It’s a melted cheddar situation here, so don’t expect any plastic cheese. The bacon was crispy and chewy in some parts, and this was just a salty bomb of goodness. We wish there had been the addition of the scallions and jalapeños, so consider yourself lucky if they’re available when you try these fries! SO good For our final dessert of the day, we had the Key Lime Cupcake for $5.99. It’s a vanilla cupcake with Key lime curd, graham cracker crumbs, and whipped cream. Key Lime Cupcake We weren’t expecting to like this as much as we did! This was light and not too heavy, even though it was a cupcake. Just as you would expect in a key lime pie, the whipped cream on the outside is nice and fluffy. It’s got some crumbled graham cracker bits to it that also have a little bit of a candy feel to them. The Key lime curd was sweet with that iconic tartness you’d expect, and we appreciated how well it paired with the whipped cream and vanilla cupcake. This was a hit for us! We’re obsessed We’ll be on the lookout for more new eats and treats to review around Disney World and beyond. In the meantime, make sure you stay tuned to DFB for the latest news! 4. While we generally love Disney Springs, there are things about the shopping district — and things people do there — that make us CRINGE. Disney Springs Disney World’s shopping district has one of the resort’s most interesting histories, which has led to a sprawling development full of restaurants, retail, and architectural flourishes where Disney says guests are “sure to discover Happily Whatever You’re After.” And while we love almost everything the area offers, there are definitely some things and behaviors that give us the ick. Remember Pleasure Island There was a time when part of Disney Springs, specifically the area currently known as The Landing, was the adult playground Pleasure Island. Pleasure Island While we miss the nightlife area as well, we can’t help but cringe and feel bad when we see a guest who hasn’t been to Disney World in years searching fruitlessly for the nightclubs and revelry they remember. Looking for the Monorail At least Pleasure Island actually existed at one point. The same can’t be said for a Disney Springs Monorail line. Monorail There was a time during the development of the Buena Vista Shopping Village (the earliest use of the land) when a Monorail extension was planned; however, it was never built due to cost and logistical concerns. During the area’s subsequent transformations — into Pleasure Island, Downtown Disney, and eventually Disney Springs — no Monorail extension ever came Parking Dodgers So, believe it or not, parking at Disney Springs is free (Yeah, it always surprises us too). However, some guests try and take advantage of this by parking for free at Springs, then making their way to the theme parks — thus avoiding paying for theme park parking. Orange Garage parking sign NOTE: There is NO direct bus transportation from Disney Springs to any of Walt Disney World theme parks, so these “parking dodgers” will hop on a bus (or a boat if applicable) to a Walt Disney World hotel, then, in turn, take a bus to one of the parks. Seems like an awful lot of work… Disney Bus Packed Weekends Given the fact that Disney Springs is full of shopping and dining options and doesn’t charge for entry, the are draws in a lot of local visitors along with guests staying at Walt Disney World. While this is obviously a good thing for both locals who enjoy the area and Disney Springs’ businesses, it can lead to MASSIVE crowds on weekends, especially during busy seasons like summer, spring break, and around the Holidays. Disney Springs can get pretty busy! Next time you’re at Disney Springs, make sure to keep your eyes out for some of these CRINGE elements. Stay tuned to DFB for more on Walt Disney World. 9 Cringey Things That Make Me Rethink Walking Into EPCOT Ever Again Join the DFB Newsletter to get all the breaking news right in your inbox! 7. The Hall of Presidents has reopened at Walt Disney World, and the re-election of Donald Trump has prompted an unusual rearrangement inside the Magic Kingdom attraction. For the first time since the attraction debuted with the theme park in 1971, a U.S. president is serving nonconsecutive terms. So, an animatronic figure representing Trump is back at the front of the stage after spending four years on the back row while Joe Biden held court and lived in the White House. The attraction closed in late January for rearrangement and possible refurbishment. It reopened with little fanfare Sunday, just ahead of the Independence Day holiday weekend. The face of Trump’s figure represents the president’s current look. In previous incarnations of the Hall, some observers complained about the animatronic’s likeness, some floating the notion that it looked like Hillary Clinton. Disney World has not specified what changes were made during the 2025 downtime. But a statement from Walt Disney Imagineering indicates that the company will “routinely refresh animatronics” during refurbishments. The Trump figure may motion more than it did before. Its head moves left and right as the roll call of his predecessors continues. It gestures toward Abraham Lincoln, seated nearby, when his name is called. Before the curtain falls at the end of the 25-minute program, the Trump figure — dressed in a dark suit and blue tie — gives a thumbs-up motion. Biden’s figure is now on the back row, installed between Andrew Jackson and Franklin Pierce. The roll call, presented in chronological order, goes directly from Barack Obama to Biden, skipping the first administration of Trump. The president’s figure then repeats the oath of office. Grover Cleveland, the first president to serve nonconsecutive terms, also has just one mention in the roll call. Cleveland’s second term was over in early 1897, more than seven decades before Magic Kingdom opened. The format of the attraction has varied over the years. Some “presidents” have had speaking parts; a few modern leaders have recorded audio for Disney’s use. The current version of the attraction begins with a wide-screen movie featuring historical challenges of the country framed by the strengths of specific presidents. The film discusses bitter elections, wars, economic hardships, terrorism and other issues. The program includes speeches by the animatronic versions of Lincoln and George Washington, both of which move from sitting to standing before speaking. Email me at dbevil@orlandosentinel.com. 10. We’re cueing up the zydeco tunes because Princess Tiana’s celebration will continue beyond the parks. That’s right, Walt Disney Imagineering (WDI) is excited to announce Tiana’s Joyful Celebration! In collaboration with The Children’s Museum of Indianapolis, Tiana’s Joyful Celebration is a traveling exhibition that extends Princess Tiana’s story to a fully immersive museum experience. Beginning March 7, 2026, the exhibition will first launch at The Children’s Museum of Indianapolis and then starting in 2027 travel to 12 additional cities near you during a nationwide tour. Help Tiana Prepare for Her Community Celebration The Tiana’s Bayou Adventure attraction launched at both Walt Disney World Resort and Disneyland Resort last year. In the spirit of the attraction, the exhibition will take visitors on a journey where they discover a series of fun, interactive, multi-sensory experiences inspired by the music, food and people of New Orleans. In this magical adventure, Princess Tiana is celebrating her community by throwing a parade. Tiana’s friends, critters included, have been working hard in Tiana’s childhood neighborhood to prepare for the big day. But when the day arrives, they learn that their timeslot begins earlier than anticipated and need the entire community and critter friends to put the finishing touches on the floats to make it in time. Guests will receive a call for assistance, learning Tiana needs help with décor, music, food, costumes and more. Everyone must come together and contribute their unique talents–a bit of their special spice– to pull the parade together on time. From music and crafts to cooking and community spirit, you’ll be immersed in the diverse and vibrant world of New Orleans’ Mardi Gras celebrations as you help Princess Tiana. The shared vision of WDI and The Children’s Museum of Indianapolis aims to celebrate culture and embrace creativity through uniting the storytelling of one of Disney’s beloved princesses and educational excellence to create an unforgettable family experience. 12. Magic Kingdom visitors making their final pilgrimages to the theme park’s Tom Sawyer Island and Rivers of America are witnesses to the latest phase of Walt Disney World’s expansion plans. The resort is gearing up that part of Frontierland for new attractions based on “Cars” characters, and there’s also a land featuring Disney villains in the works nearby. Tom Sawyer Island and Rivers of America – and its Liberty Belle riverboat – staples since 1973, are going away to make room. Disney fans can be nostalgic and look askance at these kinds of changes, said Michele Atwood, owner of The Main Street Mouse, a theme-park website, and author of Disney-related books. She doesn’t think the island itself going away is what unnerves fans. “I think it’s the idea of the landscape of the park, how people get used to seeing the boat. They get used to seeing the island, the water and the aesthetic,” she said. The man-made island, nestled between Big Thunder Mountain Railroad and Haunted Mansion, is a tree-lined setting with trails to hike, caves to explore and a wooden fort that spurs old-fashioned imagination. It contrasts with the modern version of Magic Kingdom and its money-making Lightning Lanes, MagicBands and dessert parties. Guests cross the Barrel Bridge at Smuggler’s Cove on Tom Sawyer Island at Magic Kingdom. (Joe Burbank/Orlando Sentinel)“It is a nice little spot for kids, but Disney doesn’t talk about it ever,” Atwood said. “It’s not like one of those places that gets hyped up, so people forget it’s there.” Sunday is the final day to experience the outgoing Magic Kingdom attractions. Disney World also is working on new attractions at Animal Kingdom, where Tropical Americas will take over for DinoLand USA, and at Hollywood Studios, where a planned land inspired by “Monsters, Inc.” recently ousted the theater for MuppetVision. The Jim Henson creatures are moving to new roles, eventually, within a re-imagined Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster on the other side of the park. “I’ve never seen us doing more at Walt Disney World than we’re doing right now,” WDW President Jeff Vahle told members of the media in March. “Everytime I walk someplace, I see we’re digging someplace new.” A 'Monsters, Inc.' land will be built at Disney's Hollywood Studios theme park and will include a suspended coaster that goes through the door-line Laugh Factory. (Walt Disney Co.)Universal Orlando’s completion of Epic Universe theme park in May could lead to speculation that the new Disney World projects are in response. But Dennis Speigel, CEO of International Theme Park Services, thinks removal of Tom Sawyer Island has been part of Disney’s long-range plan. “I think that is because it’s such a prime location,” Speigel said. “Yeah, it was a great nature place where you could kind of get away and run and hide, but that’s what the minority of the people want,” he said. “They want some action. And they want new attractions that are exciting.” The success of Cars Land at Disney California Adventure park could have encouraged the Magic Kingdom plan, although the new rides won’t be clones of the originals. The characters will be in a new setting dubbed Piston Peak National Park. Disney World’s Frontierland has been pivoting away from its Old West theming. Splash Mountain morphed into Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, and the long-standing Frontierland Shootin’ Arcade closed last summer. The Country Bear Musical Jamboree was retooled with more Southern twang in its playlist. After Walt Disney Co. announced in 2023 that it will spend $60 billion on its global theme parks, armchair Imagineers bolstered talk of an additional WDW theme park, the so-called “fifth gate.” The time may not be right for that, said Jorge Ridderstaat, associate professor at UCF’s Rosen College of Hospitality Management. “It’s a whole ecosystem of decisions that need to be made,” he said. Among the financial factors are the time and expense of infrastructure, the job market, stockholder satisfaction, sustainability and the global travel cycle, he said. A new park would need to fit with the existing Disney parks, he said. There’s also the prospect of overbuilding. Could eight theme parks actually be enough for the theme park capital of the world? “Nowadays, discussions about ‘over-touristification,’ they’re coming up, and that’s something that they need to consider as well,” Ridderstaat said. “You don’t want to be the villain in that spectrum,” he said. Disney officials have made no public noise about plans for a fifth gate. The Central Florida Tourism Oversight District recently approved a plan that could include a major park addition by 2045, but that was more theory than proposal. A smaller, multi-prong approach makes sense now, Ridderstaat said. “I think it’s a good idea to start with expansions of your rides, of your product right now, as like a counteraction against Universal,” he said. “You don’t want to risk losing your fan base because of lack of reaction, lack of novelty,” he said. Since Epic’s grand opening in late May, Disney World has added two stage shows at Hollywood Studios. The revamped Test Track attraction reopens this month at Epcot, where there’s a new adults-only lounge. Magic Kingdom’s new nighttime parade called “Disney Starlight” debuts July 20. The addition of “Cars” and other popular intellectual properties come with revenue opportunities such as merchandise, Ridderstaat said. “You can sell more than just park tickets,” he said. Adding another Disney park isn’t out of the question, Ridderstaat said. “I think they will do all their kinds of research to see if it’s not only economically feasible but also acceptable for people – younger generations, as well, for example,” he said. Satisfying the old and new theme park factions is tricky, Atwood said. “I really think Disney’s struggling to find some sort of balance into appeasing their die-hard fans, but also creating new fans with the next generation of, you know, kids wanting to go to Disney,” she said. “But on the flip side of that, you never see a kid not want to go to Disney,” she said. Starbucks Magic Kingdom The drink will be available in the U.S. at Starbucks cafes from July 1st through 7th, while supplies last. 19. Let’s head to Aulani! Aulani Aulani is Disney’s resort in Hawaii, and we recently stopped by to see if the resort is still as good as we remember, so we’re checking out everything! Next up on our list is a little something sweet. Disney’s Aulani Resort takes a tropical paradise and adds a bit of Disney magic to it! There are so many restaurants, experiences, and Disney friends to say hi to while you’re here. We tested out two desserts during our beach strolls, starting with something from Papalau’s Shave Ice stand! Papalua Shave Iced This stand is in the shadow of the beautiful resort, where you can find several different flavors to add to your shaved ice! The stand is open from 11 AM to 5 PM each day, but make sure to double-check that on your trip. This stand is outside, so it could be subject to weather changes. The menu! We grabbed the most famous menu item, which is the colorful Mickey Ears Shave Ice for $7! You can also add on a snow cap of sweetened condensed milk or vanilla ice cream, but we kept it simple this time. How to get your Mickey Ice! We tried the Lychee, Blue Raspberry, and Banana flavors for our Mickey Ice, and we think this is a must-get! The shaved Mickey Ice! It’s so delicious and light and refreshing on a hot Hawaii day. It’s such a classic Hawaiian option with a fun Disney spin. We loved how many flavor options there are, so almost anyone can find something they like. The ice was frozen so well that we didn’t lose a Mickey ear, which is very different from how quickly things melt in the Florida heat. A closer look! They really load you up with the syrup when you order the flavors, and we do recommend picking flavors that are different colors because it means that on the lines between the flavors, a whole new color appears, making it look really pretty! We also stopped by Little Opihis to grab another sweet treat because one on our Disney trip just isn’t enough! Little Opihis! This is another beachside snack stand where you can find Dole Whip, ice cream, fruit on a stick, boba milk teas, and more! We grabbed the Pineapple Dole Whip Waffle Bowl for $11, and you can choose between topping it off with Mickey, Minnie, Moana, or Stitch. The menu! We went with our best alien buddy Stitch and the pineapple and watermelon swirl flavor. The bowl is topped with palm trees and Mickey sprinkles! It was a big portion and definitely shareable. The pineapple dole whip is that classicly, tart, tangy, and sweet flavor. How cute is this? The watermelon reminded us of a watermelon Jolly Rancher flavor, so a bit on the sweet side. In the future, we’ll probably just stick to the traditional pineapple alone. It was a great way to cool down on a hot day! 20. Are you ready to enter the Twilight Zone? Tower of Terror No, we’re not talking about the Tower of Terror ride at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. We’re talking about the brand-new movie that’s in the works! That’s right, another classic Disney ride is being brought to the big screen, and we have an update. World-renowned actress Scarlett Johansson, the producer of the Tower of Terror film, is now working on developing the story of the iconic Disney World attraction, according to Entertainment Weekly. “It’s a hard nut to crack. Harder than you think, because the ride itself, there’s some lore to it, but it’s… I don’t want to say thin, but it is, kind of!” Scarlett Johansson says. The lobby! She continued to speak on the storyline of the ride, stating it “doesn’t have much to dig into” when turning it into a full-length movie. Which is fair to say, considering it’s being based on a four-minute-long attraction. That does leave a lot of room for creativity to expand on the story, which Scarlett touches up on. “That’s part of the mystery of the ride. It’s been a fun project to work on because it’s a blue-sky project. It has also proved to be a hard nut to crack. But we’ll crack the case of it. It’s taking shape!” Courtyard at Tower of Terror The ride at Disney World is based on Rod Serling’s Twilight Zone TV series. You know the story: five guests enter the Twilight Zone after being in an elevator at the Hollywood Tower Hotel that is struck by lightning. Fun fact, this also isn’t the first movie to be made after the attraction. Disney released a movie called Tower of Terror that released in 1997. Maybe we shouldn’t ride this elevator! This isn’t the first time Disney has turned iconic park attractions into movies, and it definitely won’t be the last! Rides like Haunted Mansion and Jungle Cruise have been adapted into movies after the rides were built. Taking Disney park goers deeper into those stories. Are we missing another? Oh, right, Pirates of the Caribbean was also based on the fan-favorite attraction! Pirates of the Caribbean The success of the Pirates of the Caribbean movie franchise inspired changes to the original attractions. Due to the popularity of everyone’s favorite pirate, they added Jack Sparrow to scenes in the ride. It makes you wonder if changes would be made to the Tower of Terror based on whether the film is successful. Hollywood Studios We’re excited to see what story the Tower of Terror movie will tell. 21. When it comes to dining at Disney World, you’ve got a TON of options. Want something quick and easy? You’ve got it. Something middle of the road and comforting? Yep, that too. And if you’re looking for something upscale and luxurious, you can find that as well. The Artist’s Palette We recently stopped by The Artist’s Palette at Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort to try a NEW dessert, and now we’re bringing you our FULL review. Is it worth a stop on your next trip to the Most Magical Place on Earth? Find out here! We stopped by The Artist’s Palette at Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort to try the NEW Banana Chocolate Chip Bread for $7.29. Sounds pretty self-explanatory to us! Banana Chocolate Chip Bread The best way to describe this is banana bread with chocolate chips — we know, you weren’t expecting that. But that is really what it is. It is decently moist, and you can really taste both the banana flavor and the chocolate chip flavor. This is a decent-sized loaf of bread, and we could see this being a great thing to buy some of and eat off a slice or two whenever you want a snack if you’re staying at this hotel or nearby. LOTS of chocolate chips There are lots of chocolate chips mixed in, so it definitely feels more like a dessert, but there isn’t any judgment here if you want to make this your breakfast or snack! It’s very tasty and lives up to its name 100%. Not a great treat to come all the way out to Saratoga Springs for, but it is a great option if you are staying here. This was tasty! 22. If there’s one thing we know at Disney Food Blog, we KNOW dessert. Ice cream, cakes, pies, and literally everything in between, we’ve eaten our fair share of desserts around Disney World. Disney Springs We love just about anything that’s Oreo-flavored (or cookies and cream, we aren’t picky), and we headed to Disney Springs to try a new dessert that feels like we’ve opened a fresh pack of cookies. Over at Vivoli il Gelato, you can enjoy the Oreo Tiramisu for $10.50. This tiramisu is made with a mascarpone cream with layers of coffee-soaked Oreos. Oreo Tiramisu First off, GORGEOUS! This dessert was so cute served in its own little cup that perfectly fit our spoon. We could see those stunning layers filled with cream and Oreos. Waiting for us to take one! When we took a scoop with our spoon, it created perfect little craters and stayed easily on our spoon. The cream was thick but fluffy with air bubbles lifting it up inside. It was so smooth, which was perfectly paired with the texture of the soaked Oreos. Beautiful! The coffee-soaked Oreos were soft but still had a bite. The coffee flavor wasn’t too strong to overpower the chocolate, but it was subtle on the back of each bite. With crumbles on top, it added a bit of crunch as we enjoyed the deliciously smooth mascarpone cream and coffee-soaked Oreos. It also had a perfect level of sweetness — not too sweet, not too bitter, just right. Obsessed One element we were amazed by was how it didn’t melt! Maybe we’re just used to ice cream in the Florida heat, but most cool, refreshing desserts don’t last long in the sunshine. This held up well, and because it was served in a cup, it was easy to eat. You could also walk around Disney Springs eating it, which rarely happens with desserts in Orlando! Whether you choose to share or keep all of yourself, we thought the portion size was lovely. It held up so well in the sun! Oreo lovers are going to want to head to Disney Springs and try this delicious dessert, and in the meantime, make sure you keep following Disney Food Blog for all the food reviews you need for your next visit to Disney World. 23. August is just around the corner, which means we’re that much closer to EPCOT’s biggest festival of the year! 2024 Food and Wine Festival Disney has just started dropping details on this year’s Food and Wine Festival — including confirmed foods, the full line-up for Eat to the Beat, merchandise, and more! Among the new stuff, Disney is also bringing back TWO of their popular park hunts — but at a price increase. It’s almost here, Disney fans! EPCOT’s Food and Wine Festival will begin on August 28th and run through November 22nd. Every year, EPCOT’s big festival brings food booths around World Showcase and beyond, featuring diverse cuisines from all around the world. The festival is a great place to enjoy concerts, activities, and TONS of food and beverages. 2024 Belgium Booth What’s a Food and Wine Festival without Disney’s biggest chef, Remy?! Remy, from Disney Pixar’s Ratatouille, has been a big part of the festival for a while as a part of “Remy’s Hide & Squeak Scavenger Hunt”! Remy’s Hide and Squeak Hunt invites guests to join in finding Remy, as he “hides” throughout World Showcase. Look out for Remy! The activity is fun for the whole family to work together and see if they can find all the spots where the little chef is hidden. You will be able to purchase a map and stickers at select locations throughout the park. This is to keep track of your progress. Remy will be hiding in different World Showcase pavilions, collecting specific ingredients (who knows what he’s cooking up). France pavilion Once you’ve found Remy’s hiding spots in each pavilion and completed the scavenger hunt, there will be a special prize waiting for you! Last year, Remy’s Hide and Squeak Scavenger Hunt was $9.99. However, the activity is getting a price increase to $11.99 for this year. Pluto’s Pumpkin Pursuit 2024 That’s not the only activity receiving a price increase for the Food and Wine Festival. Pluto’s Pumpkin Pursuit will also increase from $9.99 to $11.99. Similar to the Ratatouille-inspired activity, this scavenger hunt invites you to search for Disney-themed pumpkins throughout the park. Pluto’s Pumpkin Pursuit No one likes a price increase, but what we do like is that Disney also confirmed that Emile’s Fromage Montage will return in 2025! This is a cheese crawl of cheesy dishes from food booths around the park. Get your festival passports and collect the stamps to earn a complimentary treat! Right now, we don’t know what the full cheesy food list is, but we’re sure we’ll hear something soon. We do know that these snacks will be available: Milled & Mulled: Fall Fruit Cheesecake featuring Boursin® Fig & Balsamic Cheese with Pomegranates and Candied Pecans Brazil: Pão de Queijo: Brazilian Cheese Bread Greece: Griddled Cheese with Pistachios and Honey Spain booth We can’t wait for the Food and Wine Festival to indulge in all that it has to offer. We’re going to keep an eye out for more news to drop. So, make sure to stay tuned with the Disney Food Blog! 24. You might have heard of how incredible EPCOT’s food options are, but now it’s time to celebrate Hollywood Studios! This park offers a variety of great quick-service and snack options, as well as full-service sit-down restaurants. With so many options, where do you start? Disney’s Hollywood Studios We headed to BaseLine Tap House on Grand Avenue to try out a few snacks and bring you a full review. Do you need to stop by this popular restaurant, or should you skip it on your Hollywood Studios day? Let’s find out! Atmosphere BaseLine is a small bar restaurant on the corner of Grand Avenue. It has a limited number of tables inside, and a larger patio outside. You’ll order at the counter, grab your items, and take your food to go or to a nearby table. BaseLine Tap House This spot usually has a pretty long line, but don’t be fooled, with only three options for snacks and the rest being drinks, the line moves pretty quickly. It’s open from 10:30 AM to 9:00 PM and is here to serve California brews and wine. Order at the counter This is a great spot to relax and unwind for a little while. We will say, some of the tables are high tops, so it might not be the easiest place if you have small children. There are a few booths, but they can fill up quickly! The good news is that you can always treat it as a grab-and-go spot as well. Now that we’re here, what’s on the menu? Menu This restaurant serves a few small plates and plenty of alcoholic drinks! They have an extensive menu of craft beer on tap, including IPAs, flights, ciders, ales, and many more. BaseLine offers a few wines and cocktails as well. Beer on tap This might not be the place to grab a full meal, but we love the snack options that are different than what we can find in other places in the park. When you need a pick-me-up before a bigger meal, this is the place to be. Outdoor seating Enough about the menu, let’s eat! Eats We started with the Bavarian Pretzel for $10. This is a large pretzel served with beer-cheese fondue and spicy mustard. Bavarian Pretzel This pretzel is so big! It’s a great shareable size, and you can even ask for two sides of cheese instead of the mustard if you want. There is a lot of salt on top of each bite, and we gotta say, these are definitely better than the traditional Mickey pretzel you can get in every park. We thought it was a bit dry due to its thickness, and while we loved the flavor of the beer-cheese fondue, it came with a skin on top that we didn’t love. Cheese sauce The mustard was spicy with a great bite, and we alternated between the cheese and the mustard with each bite. Due to its large size, you may want to add a few more cups of sauce to make it easier to share. Inside Then we had the California Cheese and Charcuterie Plate for $13. This dish comes with Point Reyes original blue cheese, Mt. Tam Brie, Midnight Moon goat cheese, sopressata salami, sliced bresaola, blueberry compote, onion jam, and bread and butter pickles, served with lavash. Cheese board Mmm. Who doesn’t love a cheese board? This board had tons of options, including three different cheeses, two different meats, and plenty of accompaniments. We enjoyed finding new combinations, and for $13, it was a significant amount and again, super easy to share. Our biggest complaint? We needed more crackers! Crackers With all the meats and cheeses, there was not enough bread to make this shareable, but if you get the Bavarian Pretzel, you can combine the two. This addresses the issue of the lack of bread and the dryness of the pretzel. Win-win! Blue cheese Drinks To drink, we had the Barrilitos Strawberry Hibiscus Soda on Tap for $4.99. Barrilitos Strawberry Hibiscus Soda We’re glad that BaseLine offers alcohol-free options, even though it’s known for its beer. Right after the first sip, we knew this was going to be a strong one. It had a harsh artificial taste and reminded us a bit of drinking cold medicine. That being said, once the ice melted, we were able to try a bit more of the other flavors, but we’re still not sure we would order this one again. Nosh or Not You’ll want to head to BaseLine Tap House if… You’re looking for a quick snack and drink on your Hollywood Studios day You want affordable, shareable dishes You prefer traditional snacks that are fan favorites without being too out of the box You should skip this spot if… You want more dining options and seating You are looking for a wider variety of menu items You don’t care much for drinks, and pretzels and cheese boards aren’t your thing BaseLine Overall Should you head to BaseLine Tap House? Well, depends on what you’re looking for. We love this spot for its shareable snacks and unique brews, but if you’re looking for more unique dishes or a full meal, this might not be your spot. We think the ultimate hack here is to order both the pretzel and the cheese board for the ultimate combination! They have a wide selection of beers on tap to try, making it perfect for those looking to grab a drink during their day at Hollywood Studios. We’re obsessed with trying all the food around Disney World, so make sure you’re following Disney Food Blog for more food reviews and everything you need to know before your next vacation.
