We all love Disney World food, but have you heard of this new non-Disney fast food spot? @mollybaz via Instagram It looks like we’re going to have to make our way to Portland, Oregon, because a new plant-based burger joint has just opened up. This wasn’t opened up randomly; it was started by a famous American professional cook — let’s take a look! Have you heard of Molly Baz? She’s an American cook, recipe developer, and food writer. She was a senior food editor at Bon Appétit magazine and appeared frequently in videos for the magazine’s YouTube channel before leaving in 2020. Basically, she knows how to cook a mean dish! @mollybaz via Instagram Now she’s moving onto her next project, building a plant-based fast food restaurant chain! She took to Instagram to make the announcement, captioned “WORLD! MEET @eatfaceplant !!! THE NEW KID ON THE FAST FOOD BLOCK.” @mollybaz via Instagram She shared with her followers that four years ago, the co-founder, Matt Plitch, called her to share his vision for an “exceptional and world-altering plant-based fast food burger joint.” She mentioned he wanted a meat-eater (her) to be Head of Culinary, which is pretty unique. She went on to say his vision was rooted in a “deeply passionate commitment to reversing the trajectory of global warming by reducing beef consumption in the sector that consumes it most.” @mollybaz via Instagram Baz claimed that “99.99% of readily-available plant-based burgers I’ve ever tasted simply aren’t delicious, so that’s where I stepped in,” and she got to work! As great a chef as she is, she admitted that she had no idea how challenging the development of the menu would be. She claimed that she spent more hours working on the menu than on any other project in her career to date. Her main goal: make the food taste as juicy, crave-able, finger-licking, and mouth watering-ly delicious as its real meat competition. @mollybaz via Instagram Four years later, she has accomplished her goal with the opening of Face Plant. She wrote she finally launched “a 100% plant based menu that even I (my own harshest critic) am absolutely bonkers-town buck wild about. BURGERS! SHAKES! NUGGETS! FRIES!” You can tell how excited she is! @mollybaz via Instagram Doors are officially open in Portland, Oregon, and now we’re planning a trip to go. Molly finished her announcement with a bold statement — “this is our 1st location, but it certainly won’t be the last. If you don’t live in PDX, don’t worry, we are heading for every dang city in the states and beyond.” We can’t wait to see what the future holds for Molly Baz’s new fast food chain. Summer means one thing for a lot of families: vacation time! And for a lot of families (especially those of you reading this), that might mean a trip to Disney World. Now, we’re sure you’ve already done a lot of planning for that trip, including figuring out your budget, picking out your hotel, and getting your tickets. We are LESS than a month away from the reopening of a popular EPCOT attraction! Test Track This ride has been closed for over a year, and we recently had the opportunity to preview the attraction before it officially reopens. Test Track closed on June 17th, 2024, and Disney gave this ride a BIG makeover! This attraction will be officially reopening on July 22nd, 2025! The final scene on Test Track! The newly updated Test Track features a brand-new queue and lots of new scenes on the ride itself. The track still features the same movements (although the ride vehicles did get an upgrade!), but the new scenes make the ride feel fresh and different. 8 HUGE Changes at the NEW Test Track 3.0 in Disney World Let’s take a look at what other attractions and locations will be closed this week, July 5th through July 12th, at Disney World! Magic Kingdom Liberty Square Riverboat and Tom Sawyer Island An iconic part of the Magic Kingdom will soon be permanently closed. The last day to experience the Rivers of America, including the Liberty Square River Boat and Tom Sawyer Island, is July 6th. As of July 7th, this area will be permanently closed to make way for the new Cars area, Piston Peak National Park. Rivers of America Piston Peak National Park will be replacing this area of Magic Kingdom, and construction is expected to begin in the area this year. Disney has not yet released an opening date for the new Cars area, but we do know that it will feature two brand-new attractions and be themed to look like a National Park. Playground at Dumbo the Flying Elephant The indoor children’s playground inside the Dumbo the Flying Elephant queue closed for refurbishment on February 24th, 2025. While the playground is closed, the ride is still open and available for kids of all ages to soar through the sky! Dumbo the Flying Elephant The indoor playground is expected to reopen later in 2025. Originally, it was expected to open in spring 2025, but the opening date has been pushed back. This BIG Change Shows What Magic Kingdom Will Look Like When a NEW Land Arrives in Disney World Big Thunder Mountain Railroad On January 6th, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad closed for an extended temporary closure. Big Thunder Mountain Railroad The “Wildest Ride in the Wilderness” will be closed for at least a year and will reopen sometime in 2026. The ride will be undergoing maintenance while it is closed. When it reopens, it will have some “new magic,” according to Disney. We can’t wait to see what changes will be coming to this ever-popular roller coaster! We recently spotted some ride testing happening, which was very exciting, and a train car has arrived! It was still covered in a tarp, but it was exciting to see. Tortuga Tavern Just like Tomorrowland Terrace, Tortuga Tavern is a seasonal restaurant in Magic Kingdom. It has been a bit since we saw it open. Most recently, it was used as a cookie location for Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party. Tortuga Tavern We had previously spotted shrubs around the restaurant as they worked on the flooring. However, all the shrubs have been taken down now. We don’t know exactly when/if this restaurant will reopen, but we will keep you updated if we learn more! We Just Designed a CUSTOM Hat at the NEW Store in Magic Kingdom Disney’s Animal Kingdom It’s Tough to Be a Bug It’s Tough to Be a Bug is officially closed for good. This attraction in Disney’s Animal Kingdom once invited you to join the bug kingdom on an adventure. While the show didn’t usually make it to the top of favorite attractions in Disney World, it has now officially closed to make way for a new show. It’s Tough to Be a Bug is permanently closed It’s Tough to Be a Bug closed on March 17th. The show is permanently closed to make way for a brand-new show, “Zootopia: Better Zoogether!”, expected to debut in winter 2025. TriceraTop Spin, Chester & Hester’s Dinosaur Treasures, and Fossil Fun Games The first round of closures began in DinoLand U.S.A. on January 13th, 2025. TriceraTop Spin, Chester & Hester’s Dinosaur Treasures, and Fossil Fun Game were closed down, and construction has begun on the brand-new land themed to the Tropical Americas, Pueblo Esperanza. The walls have been up since the closure, and things have been disappearing from behind the walls. Almost everything has been taken down behind the walls, including the large green dinosaur. DinoLand Construction It is definitely a sad sight, but we are also excited to see Pueblo Esperanza! DINOSAUR, Restaurantosaurus, the snack stands, and The Boneyard remain open. The Boneyard will be closing for good on September 2nd, 2025. Disney hasn’t announced an official closing date for the rest of DinoLand. However, they have announced that “2025 is your year to visit before it goes extinct!” Disney’s Animal Kingdom Is Planning a Dramatic Attraction Overhaul — Here’s Everything We Know Disney’s Hollywood Studios Muppets Courtyard including Muppet*Vision 3D, PizzeRizzo, and Mama Melrose’s Ristorante Italiano Muppet*Vision 3D AND PizzeRizzo closed on June 8th, and Muppets Courtyard has been walled off so construction can begin on the new Monsters, Inc. land. Mama Melrose’s Ristorante Italiano has been closed since May 11th. Construction Walls up in Disney’s Hollywood Studios Don’t worry, the Muppets won’t be missing from Disney’s Hollywood Studios forever. The Muppets will eventually be taking over Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster in 2026. We Reviewed Our 10 Favorite Snacks in Disney’s Hollywood Studios Disney Springs Starbucks on the West Side The Starbucks on the West Side of Disney Springs is temporarily closed for refurbishment. Hello, summer. Okay, we’re not going to lie, summer is the season when we are basically RACING to the Mexico Pavilion in EPCOT for a nice, refreshing, cold margarita. Choza de Margarita The margarita is one of those cocktails that just gets better when it feels like a million degrees out and sweat is pouring into your eyes. However, someone at Choza de Margarita thought, “Hey, how can we make this margarita even MORE refreshing?” and came up with the idea of putting a popsicle in it. So we had to check it out because that is seriously a novel idea. Meet the Mango Poptail Margarita. For $22, you get a margarita with mango puree and a strawberry popsicle in it, along with a lime wedge and a Tajin chile powder rim. No lie! They put the popsicle inside the margarita. And that might seem WILD, but get this…it works. Granted, it’s kind of basic with the flavors, but it’s tasty and refreshing. It’s not like the strawberry ice pop is anything special, and it’s about the same as the ones you get from the snack carts. But put it in a margarita, and, to quote Mickey Mouse, “OH, BOY.” Mango Margarita Poptail The mango flavor has that bit of tequila flavor coming through, and then the strawberry popsicle kind of melts into the mango flavor, and it’s actually quite nice and refreshing. Yeah, it’s basically a strawberry mango margarita, but putting it together this way makes it fun. It’s also something that EVERYONE was asking us about when we were carrying it around EPCOT. So new trendy drink alert, y’all! A popsicle in a margarita? While you’re here, be sure to pick up some food, too — the tostadas here SLAP, as do the empanadas. We’ll be keeping an eye out for more fun drinks in Disney World, so stay tuned to DFB for more. WE KNOW – there are SO many great snacks at Disney World! When it comes to dining at Disneyland you’ve got a TON of options. Want something quick and easy? They’ve got plenty of options! Something middle of the road and comforting? Yep, that’s available too. And if you’re looking for something upscale and luxurious, no problem there. California Adventure We recently stopped by Shawarma Palace in Disney California Adventure to see what was cookin’, and now we’re bringing you our FULL review. Is it worth a stop on your next trip to the Most Magical Place on Earth? Find out here! Atmosphere The Avengers have asked the folks from their favorite “shawarma joint” in NYC to fulfill everyone’s cravings by opening a second location on Avengers Campus! Shawarma Palace This is a food cart, so there’s very little seating around. You’ll want to take your food and sit on a bench or curb nearby, which feels more authentic to New York in our eyes! Shawarma Palace But enough about the restaurant — what’s on the menu here?! Menu Shawarma-inspired snacks feature “New York’s Tastiest” warm chicken wrap with garlic and tahini sauces, and a vegetarian Impossible Victory Falafel. And for breakfast, the Impossible Breakfast Sha-warm-up is up for grabs. Breakfast at Shawarma Palace While we’ve tried both lunch options before, we figured it was time for an updated review to see if anything had changed. Without further ado, onto the food! Eats First up, we grabbed the New York’s Tastiest for $14.49 . This is a Chicken Shawarma Wrap with Garlic Tahini, served with Fresh Vegetables and Cucumber Tzatziki Sauce. This is served with some vegetables (aka a super small salad) as well as Tzatziki Sauce. There was supposed to be some garlic tahini on it, but we didn’t taste it at all. Without the Tzatziki Sauce, the wrap would be extremely dry, and the chicken itself has a weird grainy texture to it that was pretty off putting to us, and it was pretty dry and bland. However, the little side salad it came with was very tasty — the dressing is delicious and has a sour vinaigrette taste. Unfortunately the lettuce was very wilted, which made this meal very disappointing overall. New York’s Tastiest We also got the Plant-Based Impossible’ Victory Falafel which is Falafel and Cauliflower with Garlic-Hummus Spread in a Pita Wrap, served with Plant-based Yogurt Tahini Sauce for $14.49. Plant-Based Impossible’ Victory Falafel The Tzatziki Sauce is definitely needed for this wrap because without it, it would be very dry. We love the taste of the cauliflower, but they are a bit too mushy for our liking. The Impossible Falafel, however, is very tasty — they’re soft and moist and spiced very well! It has a little kick to it, but not unpleasant or unbearable. We do need to point out that the menu stated that it would have a garlic-hummus spread, but ours did not come with it.Beware too that the longer it sits, the bread tends to get dry. Overall, it’s not anything that will blow your socks off, but it’s a decent. Nosh or Not This Disneyland restaurant is a must-visit if… You’re looking for a good plant-based option You’re a big Marvel fan You need something easy for on-the-go You should skip this Disney World spot if… You’re looking for a meal that will impress you You want to be able to sit down, especially indoors You’re not interested in Marvel Overall This stand has the ability to be really good, but it’s just not! The plant based wrap was by far better than the chicken wrap, but everything just looks tired and old, the chicken is dry and the salad is wilted. We had them around 1:30, and since the cart doesn’t open until 11, we thought they should be fresher than they were. Both wraps In the meantime, we’ll be on the lookout for more restaurant updates from Disneyland and beyond. Make sure you stay tuned to the Disney Food Blog for the latest Disney news and more! We’ve got a Disney World spot for you if you love sweets and treats! Disney Springs Disney Springs at Disney World has SO many good restaurants, kiosks, and shops with tasty treats. One in particular is literally in the name of the shop, and that’s Goofy’s Candy Co. We recently went there to get not one, not two, not three, but FOUR new treats (yes, we have a sweet tooth)! Check out what we got. Goofy’s Candy Company has all sorts of candies and confections. You’ll find slushies, candy apples, fudge, gourmet cotton candy, and so much more. The smell inside the shop is worth the visit alone. Be careful bringing your kids in here, they’re going to be asking for EVERYTHING! Goofy’s Candy Co. Like we said, we couldn’t help ourselves and got four new treats. We’re going to break them down to you, starting with the Orange Cream Fudge Pie and Key Lime Fudge Pie for $6.99 each! When they say fudge pie, they literally mean it. It’s like they took a tiny graham cracker, made some fudge, and then just pressed it into the tiny graham cracker shell. Key Lime Fudge Pie! Unfortunately, these had sort of a weird flavor — they just tasted very artificial. They’re accurate in terms of the description, but just very fake versions of those flavors. Yes, you’re looking at an orange cream fudge treat, but don’t expect fresh Florida oranges here. Orange Cream Fudge Pie! They don’t really taste like real pies, either, but we weren’t really expecting that — even though we wanted them to taste a little better than they did. Look at them — they look really cute, and they look like they’d be good! Key Lime Fudge Pit piece The texture was very interesting, to say the least. We think we’d like it more with chocolate, or peanut butter fudge, or just a different fudge that isn’t fruit-based. The texture reminded us of the first couple of bites of a stick of gum — chewy and soft. Orange Cream Fudge Pie piece Next, we tried the Orange Cream S’more and the Key Lime S’more for $6.99 each. They are actually similar to another Disney s’more, the PBJ s’more, from Zuri’s Sweet Shop in Animal Kingdom. These are like regular s’mores on the inside, with a graham cracker and marshmallow. The outside is a white chocolate layering flavored to either orange cream or key lime. Key Lime S’more! The white chocolate melted extremely fast on the key lime s’more, but not quite as fast on the orange cream one. The flavors felt a little fake on both of the s’mores; you could tell it was a little artificial. It was hard to get past that flavor, to be completely honest. Our best comparison taste-wise would be like Fruity Pebbles. Orange Cream S’more! The graham crackers in both treats were stale, and broke into crumbles when you got into them. The marshmallow itself was also very tough. It was hard to chew and pull apart — it wasn’t stale, just very difficult to eat. We don’t think we’ll be getting these again. Take a look at the inside! Overall, we thought the treats looked very cute, but we were a little disappointed. If you want GREAT s’mores, go to Zuri’s Sweet Shop at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. Okay, so there are just some flavors that naturally go together, and Disney World knows how to make that work, y’all. Zuri’s Sweets! Corn Dog Nuggets AND Plastic Cheese? Perfect Match. Corn Dogs and…Pickles? Well, who would’ve thunk it, but it works. Peanut Butter and Jelly? Well, one of our favorite all-time Disney World milkshakes brings those flavors together. Well, if you want even more Peanut Butter and Jelly goodness, a NEW sweet treat just dropped in Disney’s Animal Kingdom…and y’all, we’ll just tell you now…it’s a winner. We popped on over to Zuri’s Sweets Shop in Animal Kingdom recently to see what was new there. And lo and behold, a new snack called out to us (yes, we heard angelic music when eyes landed on it). It’s the Peanut Butter & Jelly S’more for $6.29. It’s made with Graham Crackers and Marshmallow with Peanut Butter, Strawberry Jelly, and a Chocolatey Coating. And, yes, this baby lives up to the hype. First, we LOVE peanut butter, so we’re already in love with this thing. Peanut Butter & Jelly S’more But the layers of fillings are done so perfectly that you’ve got them all coming together for a virtual party in your mouth of creamy deliciousness with a nice crunch from the fresh graham crackers. These are the flavors you’ve loved since childhood, after all, with a few added flavors, like marshmallow and chocolate, which just takes everything up a notch, making for a decadent treat. Also, the chocolate this sandwich is dipped in? It’s the good stuff. However, it will melt, so you want to eat it FAST. And, hey, if you saw us licking our fingers after we ate it…mind ‘ya own business. Perfect layers of flavor But y’all…there’s ANOTHER S’more treat that just arrived here. The Banana S’more for $6.29 is made with Graham Crackers and Marshmallows with a Banana-flavored Chocolatey Coating. If you’ve ever lived in the South and had a Banana Moon Pie…well, THIS is what it reminded us of. It’s got that chewy marshmallow center with the graham crackers on the bottom and top and dipped in white chocolate with a banana flavor. Banana S’more Now, yes, this isn’t truly inventive, considering we can grab the banana moon pie in a grocery store, but if you happen to be in Animal Kingdom looking for a fun snack, this certainly fits the bill. However, if you’re just grabbing one treat here, the Peanut Butter & Jelly S’mores should be your first choice. Side note: We think Disney missed an opportunity to add peanut butter to this treat, too, because peanut butter and banana is also a great flavor combo. SO yummy Stay tuned to DFB for more. We’re sharing the items we won’t be buying again in Magic Kingdom to help you learn from our mistakes! Cinderella Castle After countless trips to Walt Disney World, including our fair share of trial-and-error purchases, our Disney expert team has learned exactly what’s worth spending money on — and what’s just not. We’ve made the mistakes so you don’t have to. Here are five things we absolutely never buy anymore in Magic Kingdom. 1. Balloons Those giant Mickey balloons are a pain. They might look magical floating above Main Street, but the reality is they’re awkward to carry, especially when you’re juggling snacks, maps, or wrangling kids. Even clipped to a stroller, they have a way of bouncing into your face (or someone else’s) when you’re walking. And after the novelty wears off — usually before lunch — you’re stuck managing a massive balloon for the rest of the day. It’s also good to note that you cannot take balloons inside Disney’s Animal Kingdom or Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge for the safety of the animals. Balloons 2. Bubble Wands Every child’s dream and potentially, every parent’s mild regret. Bubble wands are adorable, and the kids go wild for them for about 30 minutes. After that, you’re stuck with a pricey toy that constantly needs refills, which cost extra. If you have more than one kid, prepare to buy multiple. You can grab cheaper ones before your trip to save you money and time! Ariel Bubble wand in Magic Kingdom 3. Rain Gear It’s Florida, which means it’s probably going to rain. But buying ponchos or umbrellas inside the parks? We say skip. We’ve been there when you are caught in a sudden downpour, racing into a shop, paying an absurd amount for a thin plastic poncho that feels like wearing a sticky trash bag. And umbrellas? They’re bulky, overpriced, and in those Florida storms, they won’t hold up. Now, we always pack rain gear ahead of time. You’ll get better quality for a fraction of the price, and you’ll be ready when those inevitable clouds roll in. Our Tips and Tricks for Conquering Rainy Days in Disney World Don’t forget your rain gear! 4. Bottled Water Buying bottled water throughout the day in Magic Kingdom adds up fast. It’s hot, you’re walking miles, and staying hydrated is a must, but there’s absolutely no reason to keep shelling out $5 every time you need a drink. We bring our own reusable bottles and refill them at water fountains or ask for free cups of ice water at any quick-service restaurant. It’s a game-changer and one of the easiest ways to save money in the parks. Water Bottle Refill Station By TRON 5. Anything Large That giant stuffed Mickey might seem like a fun souvenir. That is until you realize you’re about to ride Space Mountain and have nowhere to put it. We’ve learned (the hard way) to never buy anything bulky early in the day. Unless it fits in a locker or easily tucks under a stroller, it becomes a logistical nightmare. You’ll be stuck carrying it, squishing it into tight ride queues, or paying to ship it home. If you must have it, grab it at the end of the day or have it sent to your Disney resort if you’re staying on property. The Cinderella Castle toy As much as we adore the magic of Disney, not everything sold inside the parks is worth your time or money. With a little planning, you can avoid these common pitfalls — and have more fun (and fewer regrets) on your next Magic Kingdom adventure. Welcome, Foolish Mortals. Yep, you already know what this post is about, right? Haunted Mansion in Magic Kingdom We’re obsessed with Haunted Mansion and all things Haunted Mansion, which is why we’ve studied some of the effects used on the ride, as well as become very acquainted with its slightly chaotic history. That means when we see a new Haunted Mansion merchandise drop, we’re running to the store. Well, we just found some new Haunted Mansion souvenirs in Disney Springs, so if you love Haunted Mansion as much as we do, you might want to “head” there ASAP (you’re going to love this pun later, we promise). So you’re going to want to visit Disney Ever After in Disney Springs. Why? Because you know those customizable headbands where you can add the plush heads of your favorite Disney characters? Well, some new heads have materialized at that store…and they’re the heads of Ezra… Ezra …Phineas… Phineas …and Gus, the three Hitchhiking Ghosts. Gus Yep, it’s official, a ghost can actually come home with you…on your head. LOVE If you’re not familiar with how these headbands work, you’ll first pick a base headband for $9.99. Then you’ll choose the character heads you want on your headband for $11.99 each. Then you just attach the heads to your headband and you’ve got your very own unique representation of your favorite Disney characters (in this case, the Hitchhiking Ghosts). Create Your Own Headband So to create a headband with all three Hitchhiking Ghosts, you’d spend around $46, which is, yes, a bit more than a standard pair of Minnie Ears, but for being able to customize a headband, that’s not a bad price AT ALL. Also, HOW FUN, right? Plus, you can swap out the heads and create new headbands as much as you want. Stay tuned to DFB for more. When it comes to streaming services, things are changing…and fast… ©Amazon It doesn’t even seem like it was that long ago when Netflix was about the only streaming service on the market, but now there are TONS to choose from, including Disney’s own Disney+ and Hulu. Amazon’s Prime Video also offers streaming (although, honestly, who has Prime just for streaming — it’s all about that free shipping, right?). Amazon also owns a free streaming service, Freevee, but we’ve got some bad news for those who use it: Freevee will be shutting down for good soon. According to CNBC, Amazon will be shutting down Freevee, a free ad-supported streaming service, in August, which is a stand-alone free streaming TV service. Freevee’s content will then be consolidated into Prime Video. ©Freevee Freevee opened its doors in 2019 and was originally owned by IMDb, a site Amazon bought in 1998. Freevee offered original shows and some Prime Video content with ads for free through its app. That app will be going away in August. “Prime Video is the new exclusive home for Freevee TV shows, movies and Live TV,” stated a notice sent out to Freevee users. ©Amazon Amazon had previously stated that it had plans to shutter the service. When the app shuts down, current Freevee users will be able to watch shows and movies on Prime Video for free without a subscription to Amazon’s Prime loyalty program, per CNBC. ©Hollywood Reporter Amazon launched ads on Prime Video in 2024, although Prime members can watch content without ads for an additional $2 per month. Most streaming services have now embraced ad-supported tiers as part of their subscription options, including Disney+ and Netflix. Stay tuned to DFB for more. EPCOT’s World Showcase is one of the most unique and immersive experiences at Disney World — where else can you stroll through 11 different countries in a single afternoon? EPCOT From sipping frozen margaritas in Mexico to grabbing fresh baguettes in France, it’s a dream for parkgoers who love culture, food, and a little globe-trotting magic. But with all that exploring comes a few sneaky rules and logistics you’ll want to know ahead of time — especially if you’re rolling in with a stroller. The Mexico pavilion is known for great food, frozen drinks, and, of course, our favorite duck in a sombrero. However, there is a rule that is constantly being broken in this pavilion. It’s causing some chaos, and we’re here to help you make sure you don’t do this illegal activity. It’s Donald! We’re talking about strollers. You see, there are designated areas to park your stroller inside the Disney parks. This helps with safety, the follow of traffic, and crowds. However, Mexico is one of the countries where we see the most where this rule is not being followed. Now, is it truly “illegal”? No, but it is breaking a rule at Disney, and you’re stroller could be moved. Stroller Parking Let’s talk about where this happens the most. Next to the pyramid inside the pavilion, to the left as you are walking to Norway, there is a path that leads to the pyramid as well as the meet and greet area for Donald. Many guests park their strollers here to either go inside the pyramid or to visit Donald; however, this is not stroller parking. @Disney Right now, there are construction walls up blocking most of this area; however, the path to the pyramid is open. When we visited EPCOT recently, strollers were blocking this handicap ramp as well, making it very difficult for others to access inside. This area is not acceptable for stroller parking, and if you find yourself tempted to park here, please think again. Not acceptable stroller parking Instead, to the left of the pyramid, you’ll be able to find stroller parking. If this area is full, there is also parking right over in Norway, just a quick walk away. Just because it looks like “everyone else is doing it” doesn’t mean it’s okay to park your stroller anywhere. A lot of guests leave strollers there without realizing it’s against the rules, but Cast Members are watching — and sometimes that stroller relocates, or you get that awkward “Hey, you need to move this to Norway” talk right when you’re dealing with a meltdown or snack crisis. Correct Stroller Parking If you forget, no worries—just be cool and move it. Cast Members aren’t out to ruin your day; they’re just keeping things running smoothly and safely. Walt Disney World is in a state of transition. New, exciting experiences are debuting, old favorites are disappearing, and construction on a new future for the resort has begun to take shape. Construction Walls featuring Artwork for Tropical Americas All of that may have you asking: “Is it smart to go to Disney World right now?” Let’s start with the Reasons that it DOES Make a lot of Sense to Visit Walt Disney World Right Now. NEW Additions This summer has seen several NEW additions to Walt Disney World. These include: Entering GEO-82 GEO-82: The new Spaceship Earth-themed, 21+ lounge at EPCOT is a “sophisticated hideaway nestled within the iconic geodesic sphere at EPCOT that’s home to Spaceship Earth” where guests can “experience global flavors blended with culinary artistry in classic cocktails and small plates.” The establishment pays homage to the attraction through its name – a reference to Spaceship Earth’s shape and opening year – as well as “the storied history and enduring legacy of this timeless EPCOT icon” through its theming and decorative elements. Test Track: Speaking of EPCOT, one of the park’s highlight E-Ticket attractions has returned after a year+ in refurbishment. The latest version of the ride, dubbed Test Track V3 by fans, officially opens to the public on July 22nd after a month-long preview period. The new iteration captures the unique charm of early EPCOT dark rides, including referencing Horizons and which will surely make it quite popular throughout the rest of the year. Water Parks: The summer of 2025 marks the first summer when Disney’s latest perk – including free water park access on check-in day to Disney World hotel guests – is available. Not coincidentally, the summer marks the first time that both Blizzard Beach and Typhoon Lagoon will be operating simultaneously. Blizzard Beach Say Goodbye to Old Favorites While there’s plenty new to experience, you also should take the opportunity to take final rides on DINOSAUR at Animal Kingdom and the Rock ’n’ Roller Coaster at Hollywood Studios, both of which are closing in on their final days of operation. Dinosaur The former will serve as the home of a new Indiana Jones attraction in Animal Kingdom’s new Tropical Americas and the latter to become home to the Muppets. Both will be open through the end of 2025 before closing in 2026. Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Potentially Lower Crowds Due to economic issues, including tariffs and inflation, as well as other societal and political factors, both domestic and international tourism to the Orlando area are projected to trend downward later this year, perhaps leaving busy periods including the bus days of summer, and the Halloween and Christmas seasons. However…. Main Street during Halloween Reasons It May Be Smart to Wait: Economic Uncertainty Those same economic and societal factors that may lead to some lower crowds may be a reason to hold off on visiting Disney World right now, especially for international travelers. EPCOT Construction: There is currently a major construction project ether ongoing or just about to ramp-up at all four of Walt Disney World’s theme parks, cutting off pathways, and leading to a somewhat disrupted guest experience. Construction Walls Future Projects Much of that construction is dedicated to major new projects, including the Cars-themed Piston Peak and Villains Land, both at Magic Kingdom, Tropical Americas at Animal Kingdom, and Monsters, Inc. at Hollywood Studios. While all of these lands are exciting, none are coming soon, and for some visitors, it may be worth pushing a visit into the future to pair with their openings. Piston Peak ©Disney Is it smart to go to Disney World right now? In some ways, yes, in others it might be better to wait until 2026 or beyond. SHANGHAI (AP) — A giant 26-meter (85-foot) Lego figure named Dada welcomed visitors to the new Legoland resort in Shanghai. The resort, which opened Saturday, is the first in China. It is one of 11 parks across the world and was built with 85 million Lego bricks. Among the main attractions is Miniland, which replicates well-known sights from across the world using Lego bricks. It features landmarks across China like Beijing’s Temple of Heaven and Shanghai’s Bund waterfront. There’s also a boat tour through a historic Chinese water town built with Lego bricks. “My first impression is it is a good recreation, like a real fairyland of Lego,” said Ji Yujia, a Lego fan who was there on opening day. The resort was developed in conjunction with the Shanghai government by Merlin Entertainments and the LEGO Group. Visitors were greeted by performances featuring Legoland characters. Tickets range from $44 (319 yuan) to $84 (599 yuan). —- Corrects to say that Legoland in Shanghai is not the largest in the world. View the full article

We recently stopped by Aulani, the Disney Resort in Hawaii, and we are in love! Aulani We’ve checked out the rooms, tried the desserts, said hello to Mickey, and enjoyed the beach! Next on our list of to-dos, we’re dining at The Olelo Room, and we’re bringing you along with us! The Olelo Room is a lounge located at Disney’s Aulani Resort that serves up appetizers, grab-and-go options, cocktails, and mocktails! The live music and decor are designed to immerse guests in Hawaiian culture. We grabbed a seat at the bar to dive right in. Our seat at the bar! The theme is dedicated to the Hawaiian language, with the word “Olelo” being the Hawaiian word for “language.” The walls were filled with Hawaiian words to teach you what you were looking at and enjoying during the meal. The bar itself even lit up periodically with different letters during our dinner. The menu! Of every Aulani experience we had, this one felt the most “Disney.” It reminded us of something similar to Nomad Lounge in Animal Kingdom. The bartenders were fantastic, just like the rest of the service at the resort. The decor! The menu was really unique in our opinion, and this location is where you’re going to find the more upscale cocktails at this resort. They had their own exclusive cocktail and mocktail menu, which really impressed us! The drink menu! To start, we grabbed the Lychee En Voyage for $17. This was probably our favorite cocktail on the entire trip! It was made of Kai Lychee Vodka, Giffard Lichi-Li Liqueur, lychee nectar, and lemon juice. The lychee vodka was perfectly balanced with the lychee fruit. Lychee en Voyage The lemon juice addition cut through the sweetness with some tartness, and we couldn’t have enjoyed it more. It felt upscale and is easily something we will daydream about after the trip. Next up, we grabbed the Island Cruise Mocktail for $10. Island Cruise Mocktail This mocktail has strawberry purée, cream of coconut, lemon juice, and is topped with soda water. It reminded us of a coconut strawberry soda in the best way! We also appreciated that it felt like a true mocktail for adults rather than just a strawberry drink for kids. It was refreshing, fruity, and sweet. A closer look! For our food, we grabbed the Moriawase Platter for $36. It came with ahi, salmon, and a Hamachi Sashimi assortment. There was also marinated daikon and Mickey wasabi on the side. Moriawase Platter This was so high quality! The fish was super high quality and reminded us of something we would find at Morimoto Asia in Disney World. It was beautifully cut and prepared sushi with a wonderful freshness. Sushi feels like a must-have on any Hawaii trip, and this didn’t disappoint. A closer look We also tried the Pua’A Kalua Gratin for $16. The dish was made up of kālua pork, cream cheese, Maui onion, Parmigiano-Reggiano cheese, and lomi lomi tomato, served with naan bread. Our reporter had three words: “OH MY GOSH!” Pua’A Kalua Gratin This was incredible! It was a bit heavy, but we think it might have been the best dish we tried on the entire trip. This reminded us of something your friend’s dad would make for the Super Bowl, and then you’ll dream about it all year. The dip was creamy and cheesy. The dip! The flavors married together beautifully and were perfect on top of the warm naan bread. If you need more naan bread, you can ask your server and they’ll bring you more, which is worthy of a 5-star rating in our book. The naan! Overall, the Olelo Room was a big hit in our book! We think this is a great spot if you’re looking for upscale drinks and small plates during your Aulani stay. This dining location had some of the most memorable eats and drinks of our entire trip, and we can’t wait to go back. Big changes are creeping into Magic Kingdom this Halloween. Halloween in Magic Kingdom If you’re heading to Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party in 2025, there are a few surprises you’ll want to know about before you start planning costumes and park strategies. From meet-and-greets to construction zones, Disney is shaking things up this year. Let’s break down four big changes we’re expecting—and how they might impact your night of spooky fun. Mickey and Minnie Are Tag-Teaming Their Meet and Greet Usually, Mickey Mouse holds down the fort solo at Town Square Theater, but this year, he’s bringing along a special guest — Minnie! For the first time during Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, guests will be able to meet both Mickey and Minnie together in their Halloween best at Town Square Theater. Mickey at Town Square Theater This is a big deal. Dual-character meet and greets at Magic Kingdom are rare, especially with characters as iconic as these two. We’re expecting the lines to be long, but the photo ops will be worth it. If you want a picture with both Mouse stars in their Halloween finest, make this one of your first stops. Minnie at the “Mickey & Friends” Meet and Greet And yes, they’re expected to debut new costumes just for the party, so don’t be shocked if their outfits are some of the most snapped photos of the night. Storybook Circus Turns Into a Kid-Friendly Haunt If you’re heading to the party with little ones, you’ll want to swing by Storybook Circus. This area is getting a full makeover for the 2025 party and will be transformed into a whimsical, family-friendly haunt. Think bright colors, silly ghosts, low-key music, and age-appropriate decorations. Storybook Circus This transformation is clearly Disney’s way of creating a more intentional space for younger guests who might be overwhelmed by the darker elements in other parts of the park. It’s also a smart move to spread out the crowds a bit. We’re not expecting major ride overlays here, but you can bet there will be themed activities and maybe even some exclusive snacks. It’s a nice touch that keeps the “not-so-scary” vibe strong and gives families with younger kids a spot to hang out, especially early in the evening. A ZOMBIES 4-Inspired Dance Party Is Coming Disney is leaning hard into its Disney Channel fanbase this year with a brand new dance party inspired by ZOMBIES 4: Dawn of the Vampires. Whether you’ve seen the ZOMBIES franchise or not, this one’s probably going to be loud, high-energy, and full of strobe lighting, vampire vibes, and undead dance moves. ©Disney We’re expecting it to be located somewhere in Tomorrowland, where past dance parties have taken place. These events are always fun to drop into for a few minutes (especially if you’re looking to escape a snack coma or just want a breather between parades). But if you have teens or tweens in your group who are into the ZOMBIES series, you’ll probably want to block off some time for this. Zom-Beatz Dance Party Costumed dancers, character appearances, and a ZOMBIES-heavy playlist are pretty much guaranteed. And let’s be real—it’s a party. Disney style. Frontierland’s Gonna Look… Rough Starting July 7, 2025, Disney is launching a major overhaul of the Frontierland area to make room for the new Piston Peak expansion — a Cars-themed land that’s replacing Tom Sawyer Island, the Liberty Square Riverboat, and the Rivers of America. Piston Peak ©Disney Translation: Frontierland is going to be covered in construction walls during the Halloween party season. Construction This part of the park usually has strong Halloween vibes, especially with the Cadaver Dans singing their ghostly tunes and that stretch of trail near Country Bear Jamboree being a perfect trick-or-treat loop. But with all this work happening, don’t be surprised if pathways are rerouted, views are blocked, and things feel a little…chaotic. The Cadaver Dans Now, we don’t know exactly how much of Frontierland will be accessible during the party, but it’s safe to assume this area will be less picturesque than usual. Keep that in mind when planning your party photos or trying to time your route for the Boo-To-You Parade. Here’s a Quick Recap of What We Know About the 2025 Party Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party runs on select nights from August 15th to October 31st, 2025, and the fun officially kicks off at 7:00PM, wrapping up at midnight. Tickets cost between $119 and $229, depending on the night you go. Space Mountain overlay for MNSSHP (2024) And yes, plenty of the fan-favorite experiences are definitely coming back: The Boo-to-You Parade (featuring the Sanderson Sisters trio, Haunted Mansion ghosts, and Disney villains galore) Trick-or-treating around the park Special character meet-and-greets with rare costumes and exclusive appearances Halloween overlays on select rides like Space Mountain, Mad Tea Party, and Monsters, Inc. Laugh Floor Disney’s Not-So-Spooky Spectacular fireworks, hosted by Jack Skellington himself The Hocus Pocus Villain Spelltacular, starring the Sanderson Sisters, live on the Castle stage The Cadaver Dans Barbershop Quartet will be haunting Frontierland again (construction zone and all) Disney Jr. Jam dance party is also returning at Cosmic Ray’s, perfect for your youngest partygoers Hocus Pocus Villain Spelltacular So yes, while there are some changes in store, this year’s party still has all the ingredients to be an unforgettable night. You’ve got spooky parades, over-the-top fireworks, exclusive snacks, rare characters, and now some brand-new experiences to add to the mix. Whether you’re in it for the candy, the vibes, or the photos, Mickey’s Not-So-Scary is still the Halloween event to hit in Disney World. Black Tap Craft Burgers & Shakes We recently stopped by Black Tap Craft Burgers & Shakes at Downtown Disney. We’re here to tell you if we think it’s worth a stop on your next Disneyland trip! Atmosphere The sit-down restaurant has a very chill and modern feel to it. You can choose to sit outside, or inside at a table, or at the counter. We think this could be a good place to go to with friends or family. It offers unique craft burgers and shakes, and its location in Downtown Disney gives you lots to do before and after eating. Black Tap! But enough about the restaurant — what’s on the menu here?! Menu Black Tap offers guests both classic shakes and their specialty “Crazyshakes”. There’s a vast variety of flavors to choose from, so there really is something for everyone here. You’ll even see they have special edition shakes, like the Mickey Mouse one! Black Tap menu The place also offers a ton of appetizers, wings, and specialty craft burgers — which is what they’re known for. ©Disney We all know what you came here for, though, so let’s get to the food! Eats First up, we grabbed the Texan BBQ Wings with Hot Fries for $28. This was six wings with sweet BBQ and scallions served with house buttermilk-dill. Texan BBQ Wings The wings were tender and came right off the bone! The BBQ sauce was full of brown sugar and sweet flavors. The dill house ranch was creamy and tangy, and the light tang was the perfect complement to other creamy and sweet flavors going on! They also served the Hot Fries with this as a half order. The fries were ok The fries weren’t as much of a hit for us. We found they were a little soggy from the ranch and pickles sitting there. Maybe it was because we took a while to get to them, but just something to be aware of. Regardless of that, we weren’t huge fans of the flavors. The ranch really overpowered both the flavor of the spices AND the fries. On top of that, these were pretty messy. Next, we had the Fried Mozz for $13.50. This was served with smoky chipotle tomato sauce. Fried Mozz! The outside was pretty crispy with a kind of buttermilk-y and salty flavor. Inside was the mozzarella, which had a kind of milky/creamy cheese flavor to it. Surprisingly, the dip was our favorite part of this! It had that sweet and savory marinara flavor, mixed with a light smoky flavor. Bonus points for the sauce because there was more cheese in it! After that, it was time for the main dish. We tried the Black Truffle Burger for $25. This was Wagyu beef, Havarti cheese, baby arugula, Truffle-Yuzu Vinaigrette, black garlic peppercorn aioli, shaved parmesan, truffle oil, served with lettuce, tomato, a pickle, and French fries. Black Truffle Burger When we ordered this, the Cast Member actually suggested we order the Wagyu beef medium well. We ended up getting it done medium, and it was honestly a perfect medium. The patty had a fattier taste than your normal beef patty, it was juicy and nearly melted in my mouth! We had no complaints on the patty, it was top tier! The dish was so good! All of the veggies on the burger were fresh, and they added a nice refreshing crunch to go with the rich and fatty patty. The peppercorn aioli was a little hard to taste, and the same goes for the parmesan or havarti. You should try this! The cheese flavor was still there, but it was second to the beef and truffle flavors this had going on. The truffle had a savory, almost meaty flavor going on. Other than the fact that we found the bun was a little too small for the patty, we really enjoyed it! Drinks To drink, we had to pick up the Special Edition CrazyShake featuring Disney Mickey Mouse for $25.50. It was a strawberry shake with a vanilla frosted rim with Mickey Mouse-shaped sprinkles topped with a house-made Mickey Mouse-shaped crispy treat, white and red rock candy, whipped cream, red sprinkles, and a cherry. Look at this thing! Ok, we know it looks absolutely crazy, it really does! However, there weren’t a lot of unique flavors with this thing. It was mostly just strawberry ice cream (which was pretty fresh and vibrant). The whipped cream also soaked down into the ice cream, which added hints of vanilla throughout the strawberry ice cream. The Mickey crispy treat was just ok, and the Mickey design had a pretty artificial sugary chocolate taste to it. You may think $25 is a lot for this…and you’d be right! This isn’t worth the high cost, in our opinion. It still tasted good, but the toppings are mostly for looks, and it’ll get melty and messy quick. We would just get a normal shake instead. Nosh or Not This Disneyland restaurant is a must-visit if… You’re looking for a spot in the nice Downtown Disney District. Downtown Disney has lots to offer — if you’re looking to explore the area or maybe do a little shopping, stop by here for a bite. You’re in the mood for a milkshake! This place is known for its craft shakes, and there are so many different flavors to try. There is a to-go window where you can get a shake if you aren’t wanting to sit down for a full meal. You should skip this Disney World spot if… You want something more budget-friendly! This spot was a little on the pricier side for some items, but maybe that’s just Disney. You want something more “Disney”! You’re at Disneyland, so we get it, you want a more “Disney” themed dining spot. Most of them are in the parks, but the hotels offer dining as well. So if you want it to feel more Disney, try the hotels! Overall Overall, it was a nice place to eat at. They offer great craft foods and drinks, and a wide variety of options for guests. It is a little on the pricier side, so prepare for that. In the meantime, we’ll be on the lookout for more restaurant updates from Disney World and beyond.
