There are a lot of hidden food gems throughout Disney World, and you might just stumble across a few during your trip. Some of these gems are at Disney World Resorts, and you might not want to travel to another resort to try them out. If you’re staying at the hotel, there are some restaurants you won’t want to skip, and we found one of them. Caribbean Beach We headed to Spyglass Grill at Caribbean Beach Resort to try out a few menu items, and we’re bringing a full review straight to you. If you’re staying at Caribbean Beach, do you need to try this spot? Let’s find out! Atmosphere Spyglass Grill is located to the side of the pool in the Trinidad section. It’s a small space with limited seating, but you can always get your meal to go to eat poolside or back in your room. Spyglass Grill If you do choose to sit at the restaurant, there are large fans on top, and when we visited, we felt the cool air from the kitchen flow into the space. Looking for more tables? A few steps away, you can find two large picnic tables for larger groups or those who want a quieter spot. Guests can also purchase Resort Refillable Mugs here, or fill up the ones they previously purchased elsewhere. Seating! While the space might be small, don’t knock it off your list quite yet. Let’s chat about the menu! Menu On the menu, you’ll find American favorites as well as some Caribbean-influenced options. It’s a quick-service restaurant where you can also place a mobile order. Breakfast is served from 7 AM to 11 AM, and lunch and dinner are from 11 AM to 10 PM. Inside! We tried their lunch and dinner options today, and on the menu, we saw familiar quick-service options, such as chicken strips, burgers, and sandwiches, along with some unique dishes that we knew we had to try. There are even desserts, a kids’ menu, and plant-based options. You can grab specialty Joffrey’s Coffees here and hold an item from the bakery, too. Enough about the menu, let’s eat! Eats First up, we had the Mojo Pork Tacos for $9.99. This dish comes with three tacos, topped with pickled vegetable slaw, cilantro-lime crema, cotija cheese, and pico de gallo, accompanied by a side. We were offered French fries! Mojo Pork Tacos This was so flavorful and juicy, and the coleslaw on top adds a fantastic crunch. They’re certainly very savory, and with three tacos, we think this is certainly shareable. Honestly, it totally blew us away, and we look forward to when we can get these again! Delicious! Then we had the Trinidad Crispy Yuca Bowl for $15.79. This plant-based meal features plant-based chorizo served over black beans, accompanied by pico de gallo and cilantro lime tofu crema. Trinidad Crispy Yuca Bowl This is HUGE, so it’s absolutely worth the price, and it’s also incredible! The Yucca fries were fantastically crispy on the outside but fluffy on the inside. The amazing toppings on top make the fries a little mushy in the middle, but in the best way. The vegan crumble has a little bit of spice to it, but not too much, and it was very enjoyable. We would get these again in a heartbeat, and think lots of people, even those who don’t eat vegan, would love it! We’re OBSESSED! For dessert, we got the Lemon Meringue Croissant for $5.99. This snack is from the bakery case and is a butter croissant filled with lemon curd and topped with toasted meringue. Lemon Meringue Croissant This is the perfect texture, like a lemon meringue pie. The filling itself is creamy, and isn’t too gelatin-like. Now, it is more of an artificial lemon taste, but we didn’t mind that. Incredible! We will admit that the croissant was a little chewy, but again, we weren’t put off by that! Again, it’s a great size, and we’d absolutely recommend! Drinks To drink, we grabbed the Guava Lemonade for $5.79. It’s made of Minute Maid Premium Lemonade and was a fun twist on the classic drink. Guava Lemonade It has a fantastic guava taste to it but isn’t too tart, which we appreciated. Is it anything necessarily special? No, but we think it’s super refreshing on a hot day and we’d get it again. Nosh or Not You need to stop by Spyglass Grill if… You are staying at Caribbean Beach You want a quick-service option to grab while you’re staying at the resort You love dishes that are Caribbean-inspired and are looking for filling meals You might want to skip if… You aren’t staying at Caribbean Beach and don’t want to go to the effort of travelling there You want a full-service, sit-down meal You don’t want to have to take your food somewhere else to get a covered table Overall We thought Spyglass Grill was a hidden gem for Disney World Resort quick-service restaurants! Our meals were big and filling, with great flavors, and there’s something on the menu the whole family should enjoy. While it can be a bit of a hassle to get to if you aren’t staying on property (you can take the Skyliner over if you know this is on your list!), for guests staying at the resort, we wouldn’t pass this up, especially on pool days or check in days. Caribbean Beach Resort While we’re still dreaming about our meal, make sure you keep following Disney Food Blog for more food reviews. Driving to Disney World just got MORE expensive! Disney World entrance We’re constantly keeping up with the latest travel trends and the best ways for you to reach your upcoming vacation in Orlando. If you’re planning on driving to Disney World soon, you could be paying MORE for the same trip you’d already budgeted for thanks to changes that go into effect on July 1st! In an article by Orlando local news WESH 2, Orlando drivers will be paying more to get around the city’s roads. Following an assessment performed by the Central Florida Expressway Authority (CFX) has decided to adjust the tolls to keep up with rising costs. As a result of their findings, beginning July 1st, the prices for CFX-operated roadways with tolls will increase between $0.02 and $0.05, and each road’s new pricing will be reflected on the digital toll displays. ©EPASS How does this factor into your next vacation? Well, The Central Florida Expressway Authority operates a total of 125 miles of roads within Central Florida including SR-408 (East-West Expressway), SR-414 (Apopka Expressway), SR-417 (Central Florida Greenway), SR-429 (Western Beltway), SR-451, SR-453, SR-538 (Poinciana Parkway), and parts of SR-528 (the Beachline Expressway) some of which might sound familiar to your route as you’re entering into Orlando for your Disney World trip. WESH has also reported that since CFX does not receive state or local tax funding, these increased toll prices will offset the cost of the company’s 5-year work plan. This recently approved plan includes improvements to the toll roadways, such as System Expansion Projects (making up the majority of this budget), Existing System Improvement Projects, and Interchange Projects. ©CFX However, if you’re worried about the increase in tolls for roads frequented by subsequent trips, or as an Orlando local, you’re not without options to save. CFX has a volume toll discount program for drivers who use E-Pass to pay for their tolls, which could help you save up to 25% on your toll balance. E-Pass customers who accumulate 40 and 79 transactions per month can save 20% while other E-Pass customers who accumulate more than 80 transactions per month can save 25%. The full terms and conditions on how to take advantage of the extra savings and be sure you’re enrolled can be found on the CFX website. ©CFX Don’t go away — there’s plenty more Disney World, Universal, and Orlando news you need to know about. New eats and drinks have been popping up all over Disney Springs for the annual Flavors of Florida event, and we may have discovered some of the BEST yet! Who’s hungry? Flavors of Florida is happening now at Disney Springs, and it’s filled with some of the best flavors and recipes built with locally-sourced Floridian favorites. Not only is this limited-time event built with meals and drinks that can appeal to all kinds of taste buds, but there are even a few sweet treats, and exclusive culinary demonstrations you can attend for FREE featuring notable chefs from Disney Springs restaurants. So when we noticed one of our favorite new restaurants at Disney World added a few new offerings just for this event, we couldn’t keep ourselves from stopping by! The highly anticipated Summer House on the Lake addition to Disney Springs has quickly risen in the Disney World restaurant ranks as one of our all-time favorites. In between its down-home, tranquil vibe and delicious dishes, it’s hard not to immediately fall in love with this place. It’s an ideal restaurant for those looking for a place to catch up with friends, plan a low-key evening out with loved ones, or take on a relaxing meal solo while savoring all the flavors one by one. Summer House on the Lake And, while we could easily pop in here to order one of our usual favorites from their regular menu items, it’s their newest additions for Flavors of Florida that really had our interests piqued! Flavors of Florida has become an annual event showcasing culinary dishes, drinks, treats, snacks, and everything in between made from Florida-grown and sourced ingredients that highlight the best of the flavors “The Sunshine State” has to offer! And this year, they’ve returned with over 90 offerings exclusive to this event across 45 restaurants just at Disney Springs! Looks just like a giant Florida room at home As we made our way through the dining room and found our table, we were seated with both the regular lunch menu… Table setting …and another slim menu highlighting these events’ offerings! Immediately, we knew EXACTLY what we were ordering. Flavors of Florida menu So we placed our order and waited for everything to arrive (and it didn’t take long at ALL)! First to arrive at the table was our drink, the St. Augustine Strawberry Refresher. This drink is made of a bright, tropical blend of Florida vodka, Aperol Liqueur, lime juice, DOLE Pineapple Juice, and strawberry purée and will cost you $17. St. Augustine Strawberry Refresher This drink is really, really nice. You can definitely taste a little bit of that pineapple and lime at the forefront, which gives it almost a zesty, sour kick to it initially — and then you taste the Aperol and the strawberry flavor on the back end of it. The Florida cane sugar vodka almost mimics a gin-forward approach to it against the Aperol, which was nicely accomplished. But what really helps set this drink apart (and one of the features we loved most about it) is how it foams at the top. Love this one! The mint garnish stuck on the very top of it gives the drink a fresh feel to its presentation and flavor. We could easily see this as a drink to sip while sitting on your back porch or at a gathering with friends. Next to arrive were the ‘Devil Crab’ Croquettes! These beauties are deviled crab cakes made with sweet, flaky blue crab and topped with a bright, garlicky mojo aïoli, and this dish costs $15.95. Devil Crab Croquettes It tastes just like a croquette made with crab meat, similar to what you would imagine it to be at first sight. One side of the crab is still hard-shelled, and the belly is much softer, which is where you’ll likely dig into the meat that awaits you. As for how it tastes, it almost has a paté consistency to the deviled crab cake found inside — we couldn’t distinguish any large pieces. Inside of the crab We could certainly taste and appreciate the crab meat’s flavor against the red and green peppers that gave a nice audible crunch with each bite, though. It wasn’t anything too briny or overly fishy tasting, and we really liked it! Ideally, we would have held on to our lemon halves and squeezed them over each bite rather than coating it before digging in if we had it to do all over. Try it with the sauce While each crab was good on its own, we really loved the enhanced flavor we got when we dipped our bites into the aïoli sauce. The garlic mojo taste created an herbaceous element to the otherwise singularly noted flavor of crab croquette, and that’s when we started savoring each forkful. You could easily order this one as an appetizer to share with somebody, as you’re waiting for your food, or if you’re looking for a lighter meal, make it your main course. And last, but certainly not least to arrive, was the ‘8th Street Frita’ Burger. This dish is made of prime beef chorizo and served with crispy potatoes and salsa de tomate. You’ll also have a choice of seasoned fries, and we chose the truffle fries to accompany our burger. This meal will cost you $17.95. 8th Street Frita Burger This dish is an interesting one. While the bread could scream “sandwich,” there’s real meat inside of it, just like you would find in a burger. When we tried this burger, its flavor didn’t taste much like beef chorizo, but seasoned ground beef as a charred burger, almost reminiscent of a hamburger steak. The grilling and mild smokiness to it resulted in charred tastes you might find on a charbroiled burger patty, which was a true gift to add to the flavor profile radiating off of this burger. Inside of the burger The crispy potato pieces and melted cheese on top complement the burger well, but the star of the show here is the salsa de tomate. It adds a roasted tomato presence to the burger’s flavor, almost like chipotle without the heat. It was familiar, and yet hard to place at the same time, but we enjoyed it. All of this was followed up by crisp onions along the bottom bread under the burger patty. We also got a choice of seasoned fries to accompany the burger, and we chose the truffle fries. Truffle Fries While these babies aren’t exactly new, they’re some of our favorites to order here due to the shaved toppings and truffle mixed into the bottom of the French fries. They’re cooked just right — not too soft to make them super flimsy and not overcooked to be hard and brittle. Ours was also served with a small spot of ketchup to dip them in. With a side of ketchup for dipping There are plenty more Flavors of Florida to discover during this limited-time event! Be sure you get to Disney Springs before it all ends on August 10th! A new Florida law goes into effect on July 1st, 2025, that could seriously impact the roads and your future vacations. Florida is changing! House Bill 351, also known as the “Super Speeder” law, establishes that “dangerous excessive speeding” is a criminal offense under the state. This new bill could lead to more punishments based on excessive speeding, so we’re breaking down everything you need to know. If you live in Florida or you’re traveling there, you need to know about House Bill 351. The Florida Sentate states that, “The bill creates a criminal offense for “dangerous excessive speeding” if a motor vehicle driver exceeds the speed limit by 50 miles per hour (mph) or more, or operates a motor vehicle at 100 mph or more in a manner that threatens the safety of other persons or property or interferes with the operation of any vehicle.” Be careful on the road! If you’re driving 50 miles over the speed limit or you’re driving over 100 mph in a dangerous way, you can now be more severely punished in Florida. The bill further explains that anyone who commits this crime will be punished as follows. Upon a first conviction, up to 30 days in jail, a fine of $500, or both. Upon a second or subsequent conviction, up to 90 days in jail, a fine of $1,000, or both. A person convicted of a second or subsequent violation of dangerous excessive speeding within five years after the date of a prior conviction for such an offense must have his or her driving privilege revoked for at least 180 days but no more than one year. Orlando Sign It also states that any driver who commits this infraction must appear in front of a “designated official at a mandatory hearing.” While this new bill does mean that you can be arrested, it only authorizes and does not require an officer to note the excessive speeding on your ticket. Florida While speeding is already a civil offense, HB 351 makes it so that excessive speeding is a criminal, arrestable offense. If you are charged more than once with excessive speeding within 5 years can also lead to your license being suspended temporarily. The intent of this law is to lead to safer roads and harsher punishments for anyone making the roads more dangerous. Be cautious when driving. The Haunted Mansion is one of Disney’s most iconic attractions, filled with details and history that we could talk about for hours. One of our favorite parts of the Haunted Mansion at Disneyland is its annual switch to The Nightmare Before Christmas version! Haunted Mansion Holiday The Haunted Mansion Holiday version of the Haunted Mansion takes guests through the mansion with a Jack Skellington twist. We look forward to this every year, and we think we know when the classic version is shutting down to make way for this temporary overlay. We’re always checking the Disneyland calendar for the quiet details, such as when attractions are opening and closing. Currently, it appears that the Haunted Mansion will be closing on August 11th, as the calendar does not show any available dates or hours after that date. ©Disney At Disneyland, Halloween starts on August 22nd, and closing around August 11th gives Disney enough time to make the switch. Jack Skellington There are listed times for Sunday, August 10th, but once August 11th hits, we don’t see any available hours. Haunted Mansion Holiday You’ll be able to ride Haunted Mansion Holiday from August 22nd, 2025, to January 7th, 2026, so if you were deciding when to travel to the West Coast and celebrate the 70th anniversary along with all the holiday fun, this is a great time to do so. Haunted Mansion Holiday If you’re looking for more Halloween fun at Disneyland, you can currently grab tickets for the Oogie Boogie Bash, their after-hours Halloween party. The party runs on select nights from August 17th to October 31st and is a great way to meet spooky characters and stock up on candy. Although it’s not very “Halloweeny”, we thought this Coco shirt gave off fall vibes. Plus, who doesn’t love Disney Pixar’s Coco?! The tee features the Familia with Miguel, Mama Imelda, and Hector. INIU Portable Charger INIU Charger This INIU Portable Charger is one of our favorite chargers on the market from a financial value standpoint. This wired charger is packed with power but thin enough to fit in a pocket, wallet, or fanny pack, which makes carrying it around the park much easier than some other bulky charger alternatives. SHOP HERE Frogg Toggs Frogg Toggs Poncho We have tried A LOT of ponchos at Walt Disney World over the years, and this is BY FAR our favorite. This poncho – available on Amazon in multiple colors, including this striking hot pink – had several features that we simply adored. The material allowed the rain to slip right off, and between that and the lack of sleeves, we didn’t feel steamed or hot underneath. On top of that, the pinch was large enough that our backpack was able to fit underneath it comfortably, while still keeping the bag and our back completely covered from the rain. FROGG TOGG Poncho If all that wasn’t enough, the poncho even comes with a waterproof storage bag, meaning we were able to quickly pack it up and throw it in our backpack as soon as the storm ended without worrying about anything in there getting wet. You can’t really be angry while queuing up at SeaWorld Orlando for “Baby Shark Mini Live Show.” You asked for this. There are tons of strollers. Wandering kids fall into bushes. None of the preschoolers will look at mommy whilst getting their umpteenth pictures taken. To be clear, it’s not a newborn, real live, swimming shark in the show, but the animated Baby Shark character and family who went viral a decade ago with an earworm song and dance. Demand remains. On opening day, 45 minutes before showtime, the line of young families stretched from Seaport Theater to the pearl diving tank. More evidence: The “Baby Shark Dance” video is the most-watched YouTube entry ever — more than 16 billion views. (In a distant second place is “Despacito” by Luis Fonsi featuring Daddy Yankee, with 8.7 billion.) Here’s what to know before you go. (Pro tip: You don’t need to bone up on the lyrics.) Soggy sing-along It’s not all just that one do-do-do-do-do-do song, and even that’s not as pervasive as one might expect. The show has a half-dozen tunes, including one tailored to SeaWorld and its animal residents that’s on-point with the theme park’s conservation messages. Other ditties are familiar songs that somehow have the eels on a bus going round and round. Baby Shark is joined by Pinkfong and a few dancers during the SeaWorld show, which will be at the park through Sept. 2. (Dewayne Bevil/Orlando Sentinel)Stage presence The cast consists of four costumed characters – Baby Shark, Daddy Shark, Mommy Shark, and Pinkfong – and three human dancers/singers, who encourage crowd participation. Since sharks aren’t typically land dancers, the Shark family costumes include a curved tail up front and then (human) legs covered in black leotards. They have a good amount of free motion. The choreography for all is pretty ambitious and the degree of difficulty increases as the show continues. As an adult, it was interesting/amusing to watch the Shark family members back up their bulky costumes into the offstage area. The stage also features a screen where additional animated creatures are seen, and they interact with the live crew. Child’s play The audience is, duh, young. They were reasonably engaged, considering the circumstances. They rushed the stage for the dance-along portion near the end. Children are encouraged to participate. For a moment, I thought they might be told “MAKE SOME NOISE.” but cooler heads prevailed. The show is more than 20 minutes, longer than we might expect the attention span to be. It has a couple of fake-out endings. Even when the song said “It’s the end, do-do-do-do-do-do,” it wasn’t. Cautionary tail “Baby Shark Mini Live Show” has the potential to be a very special after-school special. B.S. floats off in the ocean – and off stage – for a bit. He has good reasons, including the desires to have fun and make friends. Off he goes with an orange fish. What could go wrong? There is mild parental panic, especially after octopuses are involved, but it’s not too traumatic for audience members. (Spoiler: Daddy Shark saves the day.) In theory, young audience members learn not to wander off. Where and when The Baby Shark show is in the park’s Seaport Theater. Times vary daily, so check SeaWorld Orlando app or website. (It may only be once or twice in a day.) It shares the space with Rescue Tails, a series of animal success stories. The show remains through Sept. 2, and character meet-and-greets will begin in August, according to SeaWorld’s website. Email me at dbevil@orlandosentinel.com. BlueSky: @themeparksdb. Since its opening in 2019, Rise of the Resistance has been one of the most popular attractions at both Walt Disney World and Disneyland. However, that doesn’t mean that there aren’t things fans want changed about the ride. Stormtroopers in Rise of the Resistance The massive Star Wars attraction — which combines two ride-style experiences, heavy theming, and massive environments into one of the most immersive offerings in any theme park — draws long waits, but often falls victim to technical issues and downtimes, which was a common refrain of complaint when we asked our readers what they would change about the ride. A large number of readers complained about now often the ride is in “B-Mode”, including the Kylo Ren animatronic at the ride’s climax not working. Reader Jason brought up, “Working cannons,” referencing the massive moving artillery that has been shut down intermittently during the ride’s years of operation, allegedly due to foundation damage caused by the force of their movement. Rise of the Resistance Reader Juan also wrote in with a complaint about the ride’s somewhat unreliable operation. Their wish was for the ride to “actually be open at rope drop” because “EVERY time I have been to DHS at rope drop (7:45 or earlier) gotten through the tapstyles, hoofed it that long way, with a brisk walk, avoided people running like madmen, and finally arrived at RoTR to find cast members in front saying the ride was down and they didn’t know when it would reopen. You couldn’t even line up early and wait for official opening time like you can at or RnRC or any other ride. EVERY time. Maybe I’m just unlucky but it became an inside joke with my family.” Rise of the Resistance entrance. Not every desired change had to do with maintenance and closures, however. Several readers brought up the attractions Cast Members, who are supposed to be in character as members of the villainous First Order. Reader Deborah wrote, “I want to see the cast members that wait with you to enter Kylo’s interrogation room act in character while you’re in there to make it more realistic. I want them to stroll up and back, accusing us of stuff”, while reader Jim added “Definitely some more effort from the actors/cast members. Maybe a better rotation to get fresh acting on a regular basis.” Meanwhile, reader Sabrina picked a bone with the ride’s actual story structure, saying they’d like to see Rise of the Resistance “actually have an ending and not be like ‘not what you were hoping for, but hey, you’re resistance now.’ For me, it seems incomplete.” Rise of the Resistance Cast Member While most of these changes seem to be fixing negatives, one final reader had a more positive wish. Reader Amanda said they’d “love to see an on-ride PhotoPass!” added to the attraction. Rise of the Resistance Rise of the Resistance is one of the most popular Disney rides in the world right now, but there are still some changes many of our readers would like to see! If you’re planning a trip to Universal Orlando during hurricane season (hello June through November), it’s worth knowing which hotels will keep you safest and sanest when the storm rolls in. ©AllEars.net We’ve actually stayed through a hurricane at Universal and have a few top picks based on experience. These hotels don’t just hold up during bad weather — they actually go out of their way to keep guests comfortable, entertained, and well-fed. Cabana Bay Beach Resort Let’s just start with our go-to: Cabana Bay. One of our reporters stayed here with her dog during a hurricane her first year living in Orlando, and honestly, it was the perfect choice. The buildings are solid — we’re talking concrete and stucco — and she was in the main building, not one of the tower rooms that has more windows. That made a big difference for peace of mind when the wind kicked up. ©AllEars.net The hotel was totally prepped for the storm. They had character meet-and-greets, games in the lobby, complimentary popcorn, and even console games like Xbox and PlayStation set up to keep kids busy. They discounted meals for guests to grab and take back to their rooms (which was a lifesaver), and while the bowling alley was booked solid, they were super nice about keeping a waitlist and calling people if something opened up. ©AllEars.net Originally, she was booked in an ADA-accessible room since that was all that was left online. But when she arrived, they moved her into a standard room to keep that one available for someone who needed it. Honestly, that level of awareness and flexibility from staff during a hurricane? A+. Plus, the price wasn’t crazy either. Loews Portofino Bay Hotel If you’re looking for a more luxe option, Portofino Bay should absolutely be on your radar. This one’s built like a fortress — thick walls, minimal exterior windows in guest rooms, and a layout that gives “old-world Italy,” not “weather emergency.” ©Loews It’s quiet and has enough dining and recreation options that you won’t feel stuck. Plus, with the full-service spa and fitness center, it’s easier to stay relaxed while the storm does its thing. There’s also a Starbucks right on site. Trust us, having caffeine access during a weather lockdown is something you’ll be grateful for. Hard Rock Hotel This one’s a solid middle ground. It has more of that trendy, energetic vibe but still gives you the safety and convenience you want when things get rough outside. The building design doesn’t have a ton of glass-heavy architecture, which helps during high winds. And the on-site amenities are some of the best — restaurant variety, shops, fitness center, and pool area (when it’s not pouring sideways outside). Universal Orlando Hard Rock Hotel If you’re stuck inside for a day or two, it’s not a bad place to be. Also, the hotel staff are pros when it comes to storm protocols. They’re usually great about updates, meal access, and helping families with stuff to do indoors. Loews Royal Pacific Resort Royal Pacific has a tropical island vibe, but don’t let that fool you — it’s still a well-built hotel that can ride out a storm. Guest rooms tend to have limited exterior exposure, and like the others, there’s a full range of restaurants and amenities right on site. ©AllEars.net The dining here is especially convenient in a hurricane scenario — indoor seating, decent variety, and staff who know how to pivot quickly when weather hits. There’s also the bonus of refillable drink mugs. During a hurricane, even small comforts like that help more than you’d think. What To Look For When Booking During Hurricane Season Prioritize buildings with solid, concrete construction and fewer floor-to-ceiling windows. Stick to main buildings rather than towers when possible. Look for hotels with multiple dining options, indoor recreation, and entertainment. Don’t be afraid to call and ask how the hotel typically handles hurricanes — the good ones will have a plan ready and are happy to talk about it. If you’re traveling with pets, Cabana Bay is especially pet-friendly and prepared. Final Thoughts Nobody wants a hurricane during their Universal trip, but if it happens, you can still be in a good spot. We’ve been through it, and having the right hotel made it way less stressful than it could’ve been. Whether you’re after budget-friendly, family-focused, or upscale chill, Universal Orlando has hurricane-ready hotels that can take care of you when the skies turn gray. ©AllEars.net As always, be sure to keep following DFB for more theme park news and updates. 7 Hurricane Season Tips from a Disney World Expert Who Lives in Florida Join the DFB Newsletter to get all the breaking news right in your inbox! Big changes are hitting EPCOT soon! EPCOT! Test Track is finally reopening on July 22nd, 2025, after being closed for over a year for a total reimagining! Disney has confirmed there will be no virtual queue when the ride reopens, but how will this opening impact other attractions in the park? We’re breaking it down here! In case you missed the news, we can finally race with Test Track again! (Well, almost!) The iconic EPCOT attraction has gotten a total makeover, and we were recently able to ride the new version of the ride to check out all of the changes. Test Track We are really pleased with all of the changes we’ve seen, and new changes aren’t just coming to the ride! When it comes to skipping lines with the Lightning Lane system, Test Track will be moving to the First Tier of the system, and Soarin’ will drop down to Tier 2. Soarin’ If you’re new to Lightning Lanes in Disney World, when using Lightning Lane Multi Pass, you can pre-book 3 lines to skip before your park day. If you’re a Disney World hotel guest, you can book 7 days in advance. If you’re staying off property, you can book 3 days in advance. When you’re booking in advance, you can choose one selection from Tier 1 and two selections from Tier 2. Test Track’s Lightning Lane Thanks to the switches, EPCOT’s Lightning Lane tiers look like this: Guests may choose ONE attraction from the following Tier 1 list: Test Track Frozen Ever After Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure Guests may choose TWO attractions (or all 3) from the following Tier 2 list: Soarin’ Around the World Disney & Pixar Short Film Festival Journey Into Imagination with Figment Living With the Land Mission: SPACE The Seas with Nemo and Friends Spaceship Earth Turtle Talk with Crush The final scene on Test Track! Disney also confirmed that there will be no virtual queue when the ride reopens. Once it’s fully open, you can grab a Lightning Lane (if they aren’t sold out for the day), you can stand in the traditional queue, or you can hop in the single rider line. Lightning Lane Multi Pass is bookable for Test Track as of June 30th, 2025, for those heading to Disney World next month with longer resort stays. The new queue for Test Track Test Track will not offer a Lightning Lane Single Pass once it reopens. The Single Pass will stay with Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind. Some of Disney World’s “worst” restaurants have surprised us in the best way possible. Space 220 We know, we know — there are a few spots around Disney World that have earned a reputation for being a little… underwhelming or really divisive. But that didn’t stop us from digging deeper and trying some snacks that completely changed the game. These are hidden gems — tucked away in places you probably wouldn’t expect to find anything worth writing home about. Let’s talk about the four snacks that made us stop mid-bite and go, “Wait, this is from where?” The Grey Stuff at Be Our Guest (Magic Kingdom) Let’s get one thing straight: we LOVE the Grey Stuff. It’s exactly as delicious as Lumiere promised. But you won’t find it listed as “The Grey Stuff” on the menu — it’s technically part of the Dessert Trio under the name “Chocolate Tart.” The Grey Stuff on a Chocolate Tart Here’s the breakdown: it’s a crisp chocolate tart shell filled with that iconic Grey Stuff mousse. And while the tart shell adds a nice crunch and depth of flavor, we’re going to be honest — we kinda wish they’d just skip the shell and give us a giant swirl of Grey Stuff in a bowl. That smooth cookies-and-cream flavor is what we’re really here for. Still, if you’re dining at Be Our Guest, this dessert makes the whole meal feel a little more worth it. It’s easily the best part of the trio and one of the few things that keeps us coming back to this otherwise hit-or-miss restaurant. Garlic Bread with Parmesan Fondue at Tony’s Town Square (Magic Kingdom) Let’s be real — Tony’s doesn’t exactly have a fan club. It’s one of the most consistently critiqued sit-down spots in Magic Kingdom. So imagine our shock when this garlic bread came out and totally rocked our world. YUMMM It’s technically called “Garlic Bread with Parmesan Fondue,” but we’re calling it what it really is — a redemption arc. The bread is golden and crispy on the outside, soft and pillowy inside, and comes in a generous portion. The real MVP, though, is the parmesan fondue on the side. It’s melty, cheesy, salty in all the right ways, and just begging to be poured all over the bread. This is the kind of snack that has you re-thinking everything you thought you knew about a restaurant. If you’ve sworn off Tony’s in the past, this dish alone might get you to give it another shot. Foot-Long Mozzarella Sticks at Tony’s Town Square (Magic Kingdom) Yep — Tony’s again. We were skeptical, too. But these giant mozzarella sticks are exactly what they sound like: cheesy, crispy, and absurdly long in the best way. They’re served with a spicy creamy tomato sauce that, to be honest, kind of caught us off guard. When Disney says “spicy,” they usually mean mildly seasoned. This time? The heat was legit. They’re a foot long! We were reaching for water after just one dunk. So here’s your heads up: if you don’t like spicy, ask for the sauce on the side, or swap it out for marinara (yes, that’s totally an option — just ask a Cast Member). But if you’re a cheese lover and can handle a little kick, this is a super satisfying shareable snack. It’s everything you want from a mozzarella stick, just… more of it. Way more. The Capella at Space 220 (EPCOT) Space 220 has been kind of hit or miss, especially with all the hype it had when it first opened. The food can feel a little out-there (pun intended), and the prices aren’t exactly casual. But then we met The Capella. SO pretty! This dessert completely caught us off guard. It’s a maple mousse with orange curd, cranberry orange blondie, and chai cream — and somehow, all of those flavors work. The chai and cranberry orange combo tastes like something off a holiday table, and the maple mousse brings this creamy warmth that ties it all together. It’s sweet, spiced, tangy, and comforting in a way you don’t expect from a restaurant themed around outer space. Of all the desserts we tried at Space 220, this was the one we couldn’t stop thinking about. If you’re grabbing a drink at the lounge or just want to pop in for a quick bite, make this your dessert pick. Space 220 So, what’s the takeaway here? Never underestimate a Disney World restaurant — even the ones with a “bad” reputation. Sometimes all it takes is one snack to totally flip the script. If you’re park-hopping and looking for something new to try, these dishes might just surprise you too. Summer House on the Lake in Disney Springs They’ve just added a new menu item that we’ve been seeing on the internet for months now, and we were waiting to see when a restaurant in Disney World would join in on the trend. You can now get a Dubai Chocolate Cookie at Summer House! ©Summer House on The Lake What is Dubai Chocolate, you may ask? It’s traditionally a chocolate bar containing a filling made with pistachios and kadayif. It became popular on TikTok when users began ordering it from Dubai and trying it on camera. It’s known for its rich and unique flavor, and is often very hard to find in the United States. ©Summer House on the Lake Now you can find a cookie version of this treat at Summer House, and we recommend grabbing it sooner rather than later when you’re visiting Disney Springs, because if it’s anywhere as popular as it is online, we have a feeling there will be quite the demand for it. You’ll find it at the Cookie Bar across all Summer House locations! ©Summer House on the Lake Looking for more Disney Springs news? Check out our posts below! More Recent Disney Springs News! We are getting closer to the start of EPCOT‘s most popular festival! 2024 Food and Wine Festival The 2025 EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival is one of the most anticipated events of the year, inviting guests to eat, sip, and stroll their way around the globe from August 29 through November 23, 2025. With more culinary booths, live entertainment, and exclusive festival merchandise, this annual celebration is a must-do for food lovers and Disney fans alike. But here’s the best part—you don’t have to overspend to enjoy it. If you’re planning to visit the 2025 EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival and want to do it without spending a fortune, we’ve got great news. We are sharing which days are the most affordable to visit EPCOT this fall, and savvy travelers can save significantly just by picking the right dates. From late August through early November, there are specific weekdays when ticket prices are noticeably lower, making it the perfect opportunity to sip, snack, and stroll through World Showcase without breaking the bank. EPCOT Food & Wine Festival The absolute cheapest dates fall in late August and throughout September at $137, including tax. Specifically, August 28th, as well as September 2nd through 4th, September 9th through 11th, September 15th through 18th, and September 23rd through 25th, are all considered the lowest-price days. These mid-week dates typically offer the best value because they land after the summer rush but before the start of the busy holiday season. Since most kids are back in school and crowds tend to be lighter, Disney often drops prices during these weeks to encourage attendance. 2024 Canada Booth For those who can’t make it in September, there are still great low-cost options later in the festival. October 6th is a standout day with ticket prices at $169.34, including tax. This is one of the more affordable days in October, especially considering that prices typically surge on weekends and near Halloween. November also brings a few solid budget-friendly opportunities, particularly from November 3rd through 6th, where tickets are $174.66, including tax. 2024 EPCOT Food and Wine Festival Passport Choosing these cheaper days doesn’t just save money — it can also lead to a better overall experience. Lighter crowds mean shorter lines at food booths, easier access to dining reservations, and more room to explore everything the festival has to offer. If you’re looking to enjoy the 2025 EPCOT Food & Wine Festival without paying premium prices, aim for a weekday visit during one of the confirmed low-cost date ranges. With a bit of smart planning, you can enjoy all the flavors, fun, and flair of the festival at a fraction of the cost. The Fourth of July is quickly approaching, and Disney World has already started offering exclusive treats! Of course, we had to grab some of them to try them out. Mickey and Pals We grabbed two special treats for July 4th, and we are letting you know if you should add them to your Independence Day plans. Now is the perfect time to finalize your snacking plans for the Fourth of July! Our first stop is Sleepy Hollow Refreshments in Magic Kingdom. Here we are grabbing the Red, White, and Blue Waffle for $8.99. The waffle is topped with mixed berries, vanilla ice cream, whipped cream, and festive sprinkles. You can also get this treat in funnel cake form as well! Red, White, and Blue Waffle This waffle is exactly the same waffle you can get on the normal menu, but with a scoop of vanilla ice cream and some fun sprinkles. We are still so excited that our round waffles are back at Sleepy Hollow — they previously changed them out to Mickey waffles, but they just weren’t as good. The waffle was crispy and not overly sweet. The mixed berries add a lot of sweetness and freshness to the waffle, as well as a bit of a crunch. Red, White, and Blue Waffle Now, for the additions. The vanilla ice cream is creamy and cold (and melts VERY fast in the Florida heat!). It has that crispy vanilla flavor and we felt like there was a good ratio of ice cream to waffle. The sprinkles didn’t add a lot of flavor, but they do add a slight crunch. They are such a fun and festive addition to the waffle, though! Red, White, and Blue Waffle Next up, we are heading over to Amorette’s Patisserie in Disney Springs for our next July 4th treat. We are grabbing the Patriotic Cake Bar for $8. It is vanilla chiffon combined with passion fruit, orange, and guava juice — also known as POG! However, we did not taste ANY POG in our treat. Patriotic Cake Bar The cake bar we got was a vanilla cake bar covered in white chocolate icing. No passion fruit, orange, OR guava juice could be tasted in ours. However, we still really enjoyed this treat! It is definitely on the sweet side, and we thought it looked great. It is a fun treat for Independence Day, and it has lots of classic vanilla flavor. Although, beware of the blue coloring, we became a blue mouth monster for a bit! Patriotic Cake Bar These special treats are available now through July 5th to celebrate Independence Day! So, if one of these treats caught your eye, make sure you plan your trip to Disney World soon. You can also get a Berry Shortcake from Columbia Harbour House or a Red, White, and Blue Slushy from Liberty Square Market. Berry Shortcake Don’t forget! You can also catch special fireworks shows at Magic Kingdom and EPCOT. “Celebrate America! A Fourth of July Concert in the Sky” will be playing on July 3rd and July 4th in Magic Kingdom. Over in EPCOT, you can see “Heartbeat of Freedom” after the “Luminous the Symphony of Us” nighttime show. 4th of July Fireworks in Magic Kingdom Stay tuned to DFB for all your Disney World food news! We KNOW Disney World dining, and we literally visit EVERY restaurant multiple times to give you the latest reviews! Disney Springs We recently stopped by STK Steakhouse in Disney Springs to check out its happy hour menu, and now we’re bringing you our FULL review. Is it worth stopping by for or should you skip this offering for something else? Find out! Atmosphere STK Steakhouse is an ultra-modern signature dining experience in Disney Springs. The 14,000-square-foot space is two stories and features “sleek ambient lighting, a DJ in the main dining room, an indoor fire pit lounge, and a stunning rooftop terrace.” STK Steakhouse The exterior resembles a refurbished train station from the early 1900s, and the outside features some outdoor tables in case seating inside becomes limited. Outdoor seating The inside provides plenty of ambiance! Projecting elegance, the tables are all very inviting and get you pumped for your meal. Table The downstairs dining room is adorned with floral fixtures and mood lighting, all accompanied by a bar area. Dining room There’s also an upstairs indoor dining room with a second bar, which is considered a bit more casual and relaxed. There’s also the open patio dining area on the second floor. STK Atmosphere But enough about the atmosphere — it’s all about the eats! Menu STK offers Brunch, Lunch, and Dinner services along with its Social Hour menu, which we tried during our most recent visit. The main menus are all pretty sizeable, offering plenty of steak, seafood, chicken, and said options (just to name a few) among a bevy of sides. Keep in mind: the prices can get pretty high here. Some steaks exceed well over $100! That’s where the Happy Hour Menu comes into play… Happy Hour menu The Happy Hour menu is available Monday through Friday from 3 PM to 6:30 PM and Saturday and Sunday from 3 PM to 5:30 PM. The restaurant also offers a Late Night Happy Hour Sunday through Thursday from 10 PM to close. When seated, we received the full dinner menu with a Happy Hour section. Of note, our server asked that there be no modifications to drinks during Happy Hour. It can be a busy time for the bartender, so they request no modifications. Happy Hour menu Happy Hour beverages include “Signature Cocktails, Chimay Bottle, and Select Wine by the Glass (bonanza cabernet by caymus | justin rosé | caposaldo moscato). You’ll also find plenty of $3 eats like the Oysters on the Half Shell, $6 eats like the Short Rib Quesadilla and Lil’ Shroom Cheeseburger & Truffle Fries, $9 eats like the Japanese A5 Wagyu Taco and STK & Frites, and the $19 Happy Surf & Turf. Regular menu Enough talking about the food — let’s eat! Eats For our Happy Hour dining experience, we tried the Mushroom Arancini, Pastrami Salmon Cones, Japanese A5 Wagyu Taco, and the STK & Frites! Full spread First up, we grabbed the Mushroom Arancini for $3…THREE DOLLARS! This is made with four mushroom arancini (rice balls), beautifully plated and topped with creamy cheese. They are deep-fried to a really nice crisp, and the mushroom gives them a great savoriness. Mushroom Arancini Steakhouses generally have a limited selection of vegetarian options, but we thought this was a great veggie alternative! ONLY 3 DOLLARS?! Next, we tried the STK & Frites for $9. This dish is served with three strips of filet mignon over fries with a bearnaise sauce. STK & Frites This decadent offering really encapsulates how elevated this Happy Hour truly is. The filet is so tender, flavorful, and beautifully cooked that it doesn’t need the bearnaise, but — fortunately — that’s delicious, too! This was our FAVORITE thing we ate during the Happy Hour! Our favorite Next up, we tried the Japanese A5 Wagyu Tacos for $9. This dish includes two generously filled wagyu tacos topped with sour cream, pickled onions, red pepper, and garnished with root vegetable strips (our server said it was Yucca, but it doesn’t lend much in the way of flavor — just a fun look and texture). Japanese A5 Wagyu Tacos WOW! It’s surprising to see A5 Wagyu on a Happy Hour menu and at THAT price, and we’re so glad they’re included! These tacos are delicious with a nice kick on top of the flavorful beef. BUT, if you really want to experience the flavor of A5 Wagyu, this probably wouldn’t be how you’d want to go about it because the toppings (especially the sour cream) are so plentiful that they overpower the meat somewhat. That said, it’s another impressive dish to level up your Happy Hour! Wagyu for Happy Hour?! Finally, we ordered the Pastrami Salmon Cones for $6. These cones are filmed with something akin to a salmon mousse with bits of salmon and pastrami. We really weren’t sure what to expect here, but it was like a little artisanal dish. The filling wasn’t as light as a mousse, as you do get a few chunks of salmon — which is why it’s such a weird mind trick when you taste pastrami instead! It’s different with each bite. Pastrami Salmon Cones These little cones feature plenty of mystery bites (will you taste salmon or pastrami?) and they’re packed with flavor, but for a night out with friends, these are too small. You can get a lot more bang for your buck with the other items we tried. So tiny! We also want to note that you can also get a Lil BRG (wagyu beef, special sauce, sesame seed bun) with Truffle Fries for $6 during Happy Hour. The appetizer portion of Lil BRGs is $29 per the printed menu we received (online, the price is listed at $19, so I would trust the paper one over the online). You can check out our review HERE! Drinks We also got the Guava Berry Kiss cocktail for $9! This drink is regularly priced at $23, so this is a massive discount! The drink is made with Hendrick’s gin, strawberry, reàl guava, and fresh lime. This looks like your basic pink drink, but it’s so not. Even though the flavors aren’t complex, the reàl guava elevates it into something unique. The bright strawberry comes through well, and it’s all wonderfully fresh (you can see and taste the seeds from the strawberry puree). Both fruits nicely complement the floral notes of the gin. Guava Berry Kiss Overall, this drink is nice and light, going down really easily — so remember to pace yourself! Nosh or Not Hit up STK’s Happy Hour if… Fine dining is on your to-do list. You’re an adventurous eater. You want the same STK quality but at a much cheaper rate. You should skip STK’s Happy Hour if… You’re on a budget but want a more filling experience. You can easily order in bulk here, but without moderation, prices can still quickly add up. You’re more into theme park or fast food cuisine. The menu here is certainly more adventurous, and we could see it struggle a bit with picky eaters. You want the FULL STK experience. If you’re looking for that vibrant dinner setting, try back during the Late Night Happy Hour. Otherwise, expect something a bit more laid back. Overall You’re experiencing the terrific flavors of STK at some honestly great prices. And you could go about this in a few ways — just try a few things for light bites as you eat around a few Disney Springs spots, or purchase several items and make a meal of it with plates to share. Even if you just get a cocktail, we’re talking about a handcrafted cocktail for $9, when many pool bar drinks around Disney World run $16.50 – $18.50. It’s a “treat yo self” experience for far less than the usual “treat yo self” price. STK Happy Hour Have you tried STK’s Happy Hour menu? When it comes to dining at Disneyland, you’ve got a TON of options. Want something quick and easy? You’ve got it. Something middle of the road and comforting? Yep, that too. And if you’re looking for something upscale and luxurious, you can find that as well. Disney California Adventure We recently stopped by Carthay Circle Restaurant at Disney California Adventure to see what was cookin’, and now we’re bringing you our FULL review. Is it worth a stop on your next trip to the Happiest Place on Earth? Find out here! Atmosphere This restaurant is inspired by the movie theater where Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs premiered. Carthay Circle Restaurant The inside of the restaurant is a movie palace with dark features and intricate details. The inside! There are several kinds of seating like this two-top where we were seated. Our table! You can also be seated in a booth also with those dark, detailed features. The booth! It’s sophisticated, lively, and perfect for a long break from the park. It isn’t loud, but it’s perfectly chatty for relaxed conversation. The service is always impeccable, and this visit was no different! Another look at the restaurant! But enough about the restaurant — what’s on the menu here?! Menu At this restaurant, you can find an extensive cocktail list. It features drinks like the classic martini, negronis, sidecars, and more! The drink menu! For the food, you can find American-inspired entrees. For lunch, you can try out the Two-Course Pre-Fixe Meal for $59 per adult and $19 per child. The menu! And now, onto the main event — the food! Eats First up, we grabbed the Farmers Market Stone Fruit & Burrata Toast! It’s part of the $59 pre-fixe course. This is made with prosciutto and a tomato compote. Farmers Market Stone Fruit & Burrata Toast The colors on this dish were amazing and bright! We were super excited to try both this and our entree ever since we saw them, and it didn’t disappoint. The stone fruit tasted like a cherry, just a little earthier and simpler rather than sweet. A closer look! The focaccia bread toast had a bit of a herby and cheesy flavor that paired well with the prosciutto and tomato compote. The toast had a nice and crispy layer on the outside with a fluffy inside. The burrata was cool with a whipped texture. It reminded us of light and creamy cheese. Have a bite! Everything here complemented each other really well! While we have enjoyed other appetizers here in the past, we think this one is hard to beat. So yummy! For our entree, we grabbed the Santa Maria Grilled Tri Tip with ranchero black beans, roasted poblano chilies, and fresh corn! Santa Maria Grilled Tri Tip We ordered it to be cooked to Medium, and the restaurant cooked it perfectly with a warm pink center while still being tender. In the future, we might order it medium rare so it’s a bit juicier. That being said, it was still full of flavor and easy to chew. It was cooked perfectly! The corn, beans, and chiles added to the California vibes of this dish, considering tri-tip is native to California and Santa Maria — hence the name of the dish. The corn was sweet, while the beans didn’t add much to the already meaty flavor from the tri-tip. The chilies added more of a sweet flavor than a spice, like we expected. Have a bite! We would happily get both of these dishes again! Drinks To drink, we picked up the Carthay Mai Tai for $21. This is made with Surfrider Rum, Luxardo Maraschino and Orgeat Syrups, pineapple, and fresh citrus juices. It’s topped with Myer’s Original Dark Rum, garnished with an orange wedge and a Luxardo cherry. The Mai Tai! This was heavy on the cherry and pineapple flavors, giving it a strong tropical vibe! There were hints of orange throughout, but the pineapple and cherries were definitely the stronger flavors here. A closer look! The rum was mixed in really well. You could taste it a bit, but we’re warning you to be careful. It’s probably stronger than you think! It’s a refreshing drink, perfect if you’re looking for something fruity or tropical. Nosh or Not This Disneyland restaurant is a must-visit if… You need a break from the chaos of the park Want an upscale dining experience Or love a prix-fixe dining menu! You should skip this Disneyland spot if… You’re in a rush On a budget Or want a more relaxed dining experience. Overall We love the Carthy Circle Restaurant, and these new items just reiterate those feelings! This prix-fixe dining experience changes seasonally. It’s a great spot to get some amazing food and have a more adult, upscale experience in Disney. It was delicious! In the meantime, we’ll be on the lookout for more restaurant updates from Disneyland and beyond. Make sure you stay tuned to the Disney Food Blog for the latest Disney news and more! Disney World’s original park is getting some NEW attractions, and we’ve got the details! Cinderella Castle Magic Kingdom is set to have some major overhauls and some new additions in the coming months and years. There are new rides and entertainment options on the horizon, and we’re breaking down the full list of offerings — here’s everything we know! Cars Rally Race Ride Starting out this list, we’ve got the two rides coming to the new Cars-themed section of Magic Kingdom. Tom Sawyer Island, the Liberty Square Riverboat, and the Rivers of America are closing to make way for a Frontierland expansion dedicated to the hit Pixar films. And one of the rides that’s coming to the Cars-themed Piston Peak is a rally race-style attraction. @Disney For this attraction, you’ll race through the mountains on wild terrain along mountain trails as you dodge geysers and splash through mud holes. The queue for this ride will be housed in the visitor lodge area of Piston Peak National Park, and the Imagineering team is using a customized production vehicle with sensors all over to gather data on how it feels to drive on varying terrain. ©Disney Disney has already shared concept art of some of the ride vehicles. Each car will have its own personality along with its own name and number. How fun! ©Disney Imagineer Michael Hundgen explained, “Our primary goal is creating an emotional experience for our guests. For this Cars attraction, we need to invent a new type of ride vehicle. No one builds these in a factory because it has to do so much more than just carrying you from one place to another. We have to create a car that conveys a feeling when you ride in it.” ©Disney In preparation for this ride, Disney Imagineers even created their own outdoor track to better understand off-roading. Now that’s dedication! Cars Family-Friendly Ride But there’s another ride in this new area! Disney shared that the second ride will be geared toward “smaller racers” and will be fun for the whole family. The queue for this ride will be housed in the park ranger lodge. Cars Area Concept Art ©Disney In the queue, you’ll meet a brand-new character created for the ride — Ranger J. Autobahn Woodlore. He’s a nod to Ranger J. Audubon Woodlore, the park ranger from Disney’s Humphrey the Bear and Donald Duck cartoons. Ranger J. Autobahn Woodlore ©Disney We’ll get an Autobahn animatronic in the pre-show, where you’ll learn more about Piston Peak’s history. But so far, Disney hasn’t shared too many details about the ride itself. We’ll be interested to get additional information in the future. Villains Land Attractions Speaking of things that Disney hasn’t shared much information about, we have the two NEW attractions coming to Villains Land in Magic Kingdom. This new land will be located in the area beyond Big Thunder Mountain Railroad and will feature a variety of Disney Villains, as well as two “major attractions.” Villains Land ©Disney When you zoom into the concept art for the land, it looks like there are roller coaster tracks in the bottom middle of the photo. So far, that’s the only hint we’ve gotten. We’re hoping to hear more about the Villains Land offerings from Disney in the near future. Disney Starlight But you know what’s guaranteed to come in the near future? Disney Starlight: Dream the Night Away! This new nighttime parade premieres at Magic Kingdom on July 20th, 2025, and will show at 9PM and 11PM. ©Disney As it begins, Disney Starlight will be “brought to life by the magic of the Blue Fairy” from the Disney animated classic, Pinocchio. She will lead the parade, which will also include Disney characters from Walt Disney Animation Studios films such as Encanto, Frozen, and Peter Pan. ©Disney Disney has so far shared concept art of several floats, including ones with Disney Princesses, as well as those inspired by Moana and Wish. The finale float is a nod to the Main Street Electrical Parade. ©Disney Of course, it wouldn’t be a new parade without a fantastic score! The soundtrack includes some snippets of popular Disney songs. And since the parade takes place at night, you know those costumes are going to SHINE. There are lights all throughout the floats and the costumes, including those worn by Mickey and friends. Disney Starlight debuts July 20th in Magic Kingdom ©Disney We can’t wait to check this one out in person soon! Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin One ride that’s getting some major changes in Magic Kingdom is Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin. The ride will temporarily close starting on August 4th, 2025, to get a new scene, tech updates, and new ride vehicles. ©Disney The new ride vehicles will come with video monitors to better keep track of your scoring, as well as handheld blasters that can be removed from their holsters (think like the Disneyland version of the ride!). As you shoot at the targets, they’ll light up and react, so you know when you’ve hit one. ©Disney There will also be a new scene on the ride featuring a friendly robot named “Buddy.” He’ll teach you how to play the game and allow you some practice shots before you take off on your intergalactic journey. Thankfully, the blasters will also now have always-on lasers that come in two different colors for the riders in each vehicle. ©Disney The ride is set to reopen in 2026 with these updates. Big Thunder Mountain Railroad Currently, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad is closed for a year-long refurbishment. During this time, the ride is getting a number of updates, including a smoother track and “a little bit of new magic.” Big Thunder Mountain Railroad is currently closed But perhaps the biggest change to this ride will be the area around it — Disney is already starting to prep for Villains Land to go behind the classic roller coaster, so it’s no wonder the refurbishment is so long! We’ll be interested to see how the landscape changes. Walt Disney World Railroad Finally, we’ve got to share the changes coming to the Walt Disney World Railroad. Since there’s quite a bit of construction planned for the Frontierland area, the railroad will be operating in “shuttle mode” starting on July 7th, 2025. Walt Disney World Railroad During this time, the train will run from the Main Street, U.S.A. station to the Fantasyland station and back. There will be no stopping at the Frontierland train station. Also, Disney is turning some of the benches around on the train, which means you can choose to sit forward OR backward, no matter which direction you’re going. Main Street, U.S.A. station That’s a wrap on the list of attractions changing or opening in Magic Kingdom! We’ll keep you updated if there are any more announcements.
