There might be nothing worse than finishing watching a season of a TV show, looking up when the next season premieres, and finding out it’s canceled. ©Paramount Paramount+ has removed a lot of shows from its platform, including a wildly popular one. Don’t worry — you might be able to watch it somewhere else. According to Deadline, South Park is no longer available on Paramount+. All 26 seasons of the show have been removed from Paramount+, although some specials remain. The seasons are still available to stream on HBO Max with no removal notice. ©Comedy Central Season 27 was originally set to premier on Comedy Central on July 9th but has since been pushed back to the 23rd. In a recent merge, Comedy Central was purchased by Paramount so there’s confusion of why it’s been removed. Paramount is quick to remove shows from its streaming services, including its own originals. Grease: Rise of the Pink Ladies which was made for Paramount+ in 2023 was removed from streaming. The creator, Annabel Oakes said she was “devastated at the complete erasure of our show,” according to the Hollywood Reporter. ©Paramount+ The creators of South Park, Trey Parker and Matt Stone, signed a deal with Comedy Central in 2021 to run South Park through season 30, which is set to conclude in 2027. The deal was reportedly valued at approximately $900 million. ©Comedy Central At the end of 2024, Paramount removed many Nickelodeon shows from its streaming platform, including Doug, Blue’s Room, and Big Time Rush. It feels like more titles are being removed from Paramount than being added. Make sure to keep following Disney Food Blog for more TV and movie news. For Tiana’s necklace, the word “visionary” is engraved on the back. It has a 14k gold finish and a sparkling crown on top. It features clear crystals around the side with the Kendra Scott icon charm on the backdrop. Buy from the Disney Store Cinderella Necklace ©Kendra Scott If you love a classic princess, this one is for you! This Elisa pendant necklace is inspired by Cinderella. In 2026, the Muppets are going to take over Hollywood Studios’ Rock ’n’ Roller Coaster, and we NEED to hear these songs in some capacity! ©Disney In the fall of 2024, Disney shocked Muppets fans, who were already in mourning over the then-just-announced closure of Muppet*Vision 3D and PizzeRizzo, that the characters would be added to the Rock ’n’ Roller Coaster. At the time, Disney said that the Muppets would be “teaming up with some of music’s biggest stars for a rockin’ music festival!” So, what songs should make up that music festival? Well, we have some ideas! “The Muppet Show Theme (Meet the Muppets)” Where else can we begin than with The Muppet Show’s opening theme? The song’s iconic opening lines, “It’s time to play the music, it’s time to light the lights, it’s time to meet the Muppets…” feel like the perfect lead-up to the coaster’s launch if you ask us. The Muppet Show ©Disney “Mickey Mouse March” The muppets are built on satire, and their previous attraction didn’t steer clear of playing some gentle fun with Disney. If you were lucky enough to see Muppet*Vision 3D, you know some of the biggest laughs revolved around references to Mickey Mouse, and it would be fitting to cone that in the new coaster, perhaps with a “K-E-R-MIT-F-R-O-GEEEE” version of the march in the ride’s preshow. Rizzo dressed as a certain Disney character during the Muppet*Vision preshow. A Muppet Parody of an Aerosmith Song Speaking of parodies, it would only feel appropriate for The Muppets to reference the former stars of the attraction — the “Bad Boys of Boston” themselves, Aerosmith — with a Muppet-ized version of one of their iconic songs somewhere in the rethemed coaster Aerosmith in the preshow. “Hot to Go” as Sung by Miss Piggy Dating back to their 1970s heyday, The Muppets have long embraced lampooning current popular culture, and we’d like to see that tradition continue with Piggy channeling her inner Chappell Roan. After all, Disney did license the song for use in a Freakier Friday trailer. Miss Piggy is no stranger to musical numbers. “Rock and Roll All Nite” as covered by Doctor Teeth and the Electric Mayhem Since the ride’s poster indicates that Doctor Teeth and the Electric Mayhem will be involved in the attraction, it makes sense to include one of their iconic covers. Specifically, we went with this 1970s KISS classic since it matches with the character’s 70s heyday and literally keeps the “ROCK” in Rock ’n’ Roller Coaster. “Rainbow Connection” And finally, how can we not want the most iconic of all Muppet songs included on their first ride? Now, granted, the song wouldn’t work for any thrilling portions of the attraction (though the well-known cover by alt-rock favorites Weezer and Paramore singer Hayley Williams might fit the bill), but the tune might be perfect to play as guests are disembarking from the attraction. ©Disney It remains to be seen what type of music the Muppets will perform on Rock ’n’ Roller Coaster, but we REALLY hope at least some of these songs make the cut. Stay tuned to DFB for more on this new attraction! “You Could Fit So Many Muppets in That Theater.” Disney Fans React to NEW Villains Show in Hollywood Studios Join the DFB Newsletter to get all the breaking news right in your inbox! Alright, all you Triple T enthusiasts, it’s time to gather around for an update! Let’s go to Tiny Train Town! That’s right, we’re heading back to the Tiny Train Town for our weekly news report. I, Madam Mayor, personally stopped by the village this week to see what’s new in the itty bitty city, and I’ve got some hot goss to share! This week, my first stop was to check on the infamous jug band! Ever since last year’s assault and battery scandal, the Jug Band 2.0 seems to be doing quite well. The members get along pretty well these days, and I’ve even noticed a small fan club forming! During my most recent visit, they had two audience members present (plus one dog!). Is that the band I see? Little Suzie was up to her usual antics — climbing to the top of the town’s watchtower. However, it’s EXTRA dangerous right now because the city is in the process of replacing the guardrails. Seriously, guys, can we get the doors and stairs blocked off so kids can’t get up here during major construction projects?! It sounds like I’m going to have to go around and fire some people! Somebody get her down! If you’ve been following along with recent updates from the Triple T, you know that we have quite a few engaged couples at the moment. In fact, there are SO many that the little chapel is booked full through the fall. However, during my tour, I discovered this run-down old church in the foothills of the mountains. I’ll be recommending this to our local wedding planner as a potential venue for restoration — the views and wedding pictures here would be spectacular! Another wedding chapel, perhaps? Last but not least, I headed over to the railyard to check out the trains. But sadly, they’d all been temporarily retired due to inclement weather. When those winds and rains get too strong, our village becomes a veritable ghost town with no transportation in or out. TBH, it sounds like a relaxing day to me, but sometimes our citizens feel a little stranded. Alas, a slow day. And that’s a wrap on my visit to the TTT this week! Stay tuned to DFB for more updates on what to do in EPCOT. Stay tuned to DFB for more news and updates from Disney World! The anarchy within is mostly created by natural occurrences, like giant squirrels, wind, rain, and relatively godzilla-sized lizards who frequent the town; but we find it fun and entertaining to make up fictional stories about what COULD be happening. We are grateful to the folks who create and maintain this Tiny Train Town for Disney World, as it’s one of our favorite parts of EPCOT and always has been. Driving to Disney World Just Got SO Much Easier!
Disney4me posted a topic in Disney Food/Restaurants
We love Orlando, but we don’t always love driving around the city. If you’ve driven to Disney World recently, you might know about the insane amount of construction when trying to get to the Most Magical Place on Earth. Luckily, some of this is changing! Magic Kingdom Entrance Starting Saturday, July 19th, three new ramps connecting the highway to the Daryl Carter Parkway will be opening. Orlando Sentinel has reported that on Saturday, “drivers can use one eastbound or one westbound I-4 off-ramp to Daryl Carter Parkway at new Exit 70, as well as an eastbound I-4 on-ramp from Daryl Carter Parkway.” ©Orlando Sentinel The Florida Department of Transportation states that these new ramps will help alleviate traffic congestion in the area near Disney Springs and other parts of Disney World. In 2024, Orlando welcomed 75 million visitors, a record that is expected to be surpassed in 2025 with the opening of Epic Universe, Universal Orlando’s new third park. WELCOME to Epic Universe! In March, the Florida Department of Transportation opened the “diverging diamond” Daryl Carter Parkway overpass, which was recently reconstructed. This helped prepare for the ramps to open. Currently, the diverging diamond moves traffic to the left side of the road at one light and then to the right for the second signal,” eliminating left turns across oncoming traffic.” This allows for twice the number of vehicles to move through at the same time and cuts crash risks in half. The new ramps are part of the Florida Department of Transportation’s I-4 Beyond the Ultimate project, which started in 2022 to overhaul I-4 and improve it for increased traffic. There are two other projects still in the works for Beyond the Ultimate, which are set to be completed by 2028. Driving to Disney World We’re going to be keeping an eye on more road updates in Orlando, especially if it’s going to affect your travels to Disney World, so make sure you keep following Disney Food Blog for more. We’re very close to it being fall at Disney World, and with fall, it brings a lot of exciting things around the Disney parks. Halloween at Disney World! In August, we will see Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party return to Magic Kingdom. Soon, Main Street will be full of Mickey pumpkin wreaths and delicious fall treats. Over at EPCOT, we will also see the International Food and Wine Festival kick off on August 28th. As a new season starts, we can look forward to new decor, new snacks, and even new popcorn buckets! Magic Kingdom can expect to get a new spooky popcorn bucket on the first day of the Halloween party! In 2024, we saw Scary Teddy as a bucket. While we don’t have details just yet on 2025’s version, we know that it will likely be popular. The lines for these party-exclusive buckets can be long, so if you’re hoping to snag this year’s bucket, be sure to head there to grab yours towards the beginning of the party! Scary Teddy in 2024 With EPCOT’s Food and Wine Festival starting in August as well, we aren’t sure if there will be a festival-exclusive popcorn bucket. In 2023, we saw a Food and Wine bucket that included a special themed carrying strap. However, in 2024, we did not see a new bucket. Could there be a new one coming to EPCOT soon? Possibly, but we wouldn’t put all of our eggs in that basket. 2023 EPCOT Food & Wine Picnic Basket Popcorn Bucket Here are the popcorn buckets that are currently available at Disney World: Spaceship Earth Mickey Balloon Popcorn Bucket at EPCOT Mickey Mouse Bucket at Disney’s Hollywood Studios Salvaged Clone Trooper Helmet at Disney’s Hollywood Studios Pumbaa Popcorn Bucket at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Standard Refillable Popcorn Bucket at multiple locations Mickey! Secretary of Homeland Security Kristi Noem announced that the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) will open security lanes dedicated to families and military service members, according to NBC News. ©AP “Families on the Fly” will create dedicated security lines for families with small children, while the “Honor Lane” will expedite security checkpoints for military service members and their families. In addition, families with small children will get a $15 discount for TSA pre-check enrollment, while TSA will begin offering Gold Star families free TSA pre-check. TSA lines at MCO The new “Families on the Fly” policy has begun a pilot program at an Orlando airport, near Disney World. “This means that when families come into our airports and enter our TSA security checkpoints, they will have dedicated lanes specific for families,” Noem said. “They’ll be expanded areas that will give them the benefit of recognizing that they have children with them, and will help make sure that we have the ability to take care of them and their families as they go through this expedited process with their kiddos.” Security at MCO The “Honor Lane” opened in Nashville in June and is available at 11 different airports, with plans to expand near more military bases soon. “These tokens of gratitude are just a small amount of what we can do in this country to honor those who serve in our military, but also them and their families, and recognize their sacrifice,” Noem said. Walt Disney World is introducing a fresh parade, a staple of the theme park experience for decades, but one that’s evolving with technology and modern audiences. Disney Starlight: Dream the Night Away officially debuts at Magic Kingdom on Sunday night. Theme-park parades serve as a come-together moment for visitors, encouraging them to spend more time – and more money – in the parks. But today’s parade-goers want to see a show. “Expectations have changed because now these parades are not just parades. They are immersive theatrical events. They have advanced lighting, audio, scenic, character design, choreography that are the level of Broadway or higher,” said Ryan Stana, chief executive officer of RWS Global, a company that designs experiences for the attractions, leisure and sports industries. “The bar has been raised for everyone to deliver more — and more interesting,” Stana said. Disney Starlight: Dream the Night Away parade kicks off at Magic Kingdom with the Blue Fairy, and her powers affect the floats that follow. (Courtesy Walt Disney Co.)Disney Starlight has been more than two years in the making, said Katie Marks, producer with Disney Live Entertainment. “The last time that we built one that was specific for the Magic Kingdom was SpectroMagic, which was back in the early ‘90s,” she said. “So we knew that we had a lot of opportunity there to really take a look at what is out there in the market today.” Most evident: the lighting that runs the length of the parade. “One of the great features of this parade is that we’re really able to control every single pixel that you see on every single float, which is a real milestone for us,” Marks said. The new parade is fronted by the Blue Fairy, whose light is seen throughout, all the way back to the final float, a train (a character whimsically named Whimsy) pulling Mickey Mouse with Minnie Mouse and friends. Sprinkled among the lighting effects are other characters such as Elsa, Moana, Miguel, the Madrigal family and assorted Disney princesses and princes. Like many park parades, the Starlight processional will be a hot spot for character spotting. New starry costumes have been whipped up for Mickey, Minnie and Goofy as the new Magic Kingdom parade approaches. (Olga Thompson/Walt Disney Co.)The new parade’s lighting effects also extend to on-ground performers. The “twinkle level” of their costumes can be adjusted, Disney says. “Another thing that we looked at from a technology standpoint … is video incorporated into some of these floats,” Marks said. “There’s a lot of really great video technology that you will see in this parade, with some product that is relatively new, some video screens that allow us to create shapes that we may not have been able to create in the past,” she said. Bringing up the rear: on-screen Jiminy Cricket, a character who waved goodbye to spectators at the end of SpectroMagic. Starlight’s music is billed as an all-new score that incorporates classic Disney melodies. “We wanted it to be big and grand and gorgeous, but also funny, sweet and thrilling. Classic stories and new stories, iconic moments that I hope will really resonate with our guests,” Tara Anderson, show director with Disney Live Entertainment, said in an episode of “We Call It Imagineering,” a YouTube series. “Starlight is not just nostalgic, it’s historic because it really reawakens the traditions that are the touchstones for generations of guests,” Stana said. “Disney knows how to make us feel like kids again, and that’s what a parade like this is built for,” he said. Characters from the "Encanto" film get the float treatment in Disney Starlight parade. (Courtesy Walt Disney Co.)Magic Kingdom hasn’t had a regularly scheduled nighttime parade since 2016, when the run of the Main Street Electrical Parade ended. But this style of entertainment has continued in multiple Orlando parks. Disney’s Festival of Fantasy parade will still run in its customary midafternoon slot at Magic Kingdom. SeaWorld Orlando currently stages two daily character-heavy parades, Sesame Street Party Parade plus Shamu and Crew. Universal Studios Florida introduced Mega Movie Parade last summer. There are also seasonal parades for holiday events, including Halloween, Christmas and Mardi Gras. “There are guests that come for the rides, and they’ll often leave talking about those rides. But also they talk about the fact they got to see their favorite character dancing in front of them in a parade with music soaring,” said Michael Aiello, senior director of entertainment creative development at Universal Destinations & Experiences. “It presents kind of this almost cinematic and emotional experience,” he said. A "Jurassic World" float topped by a T. Rex figure rolls through the streets of Universal Studios Florida theme park during the Mega Movie Parade last year. (Dewayne Bevil/Orlando Sentinel)Mega Movie features units inspired by films in the Universal family such as “Back to the Future,” “E.T.: The Extra-Terrestrial” and “Ghostbusters.” Each section has related characters and actors, including walk-along ghostbusters, performers on faux hoverboards and the mayor of Amity Island, a nod to “Jaws.” The parade ends with a “Jurassic World” float topped by an in-motion T. Rex figure. The big guy is a hybrid of puppetry and animatronic, Aiello said. “How are we blending the ways we can tell our story?” he said. “Technically, it’s that technology blended with the old tried and true, the old smoke and mirrors, because that T. Rex — although massively technical — there’s someone inside that, puppeteering it, which I think is so cool … and not many people even realize.” Mega Movie replaced Universal’s Superstar Parade, which concentrated on animated films but ended in 2022. “For Mega Movie, we wanted to widen the net. We wanted to make sure we were featuring components that everyone in the family could be excited to see. It’s why we’ve got nostalgia mixed with contemporary,” Aiello said. The parades are major people-pleasers, said Ryan Miziker, chief creative officer at California-based Miziker Entertainment Inc., which produces shows and parades on a global scale. “There’s two sides of the parade route, so that’s 2 miles of front-row seats that people have, and that’s really unusual. Everyone has the possibility of having a front-row seat,” Miziker said. The events fall into the parks’ memory-making strategies, he said. “What Disney does is that they rely on having a big kind of emotional impact, so that the things that you do during the course of your stay, you remember, and you enjoy experiencing them,” he said. “To be able to process 10,000 people … that’s a huge benefit,” Miziker said. “It really sort of allows parks to justify the cost of the parade because they know that a lot of people are going to see them and remember them.” Synchronized sound coordinated via wireless network zones, projection mapping and massive LED projects are among the worldwide global trends, Miziker said. And then there are drones. “We have heard pitches for drones for years now with parades,” Miziker said. Drone use is challenging because of restrictions about flying over audiences, he said. “However, we’re working on a project right now that utilizes drones in a way that hasn’t been seen before that I think will be a huge innovation and something that’s going to be really cool to be seen,” he said. “We approach this creative challenge, bringing as much innovation and technology and surprise elements as possible, because, you know, the demand is there,” Miziker said. This year has been a HUGE year for change in Disney World. Muppets Courtyard has closed in Disney’s Hollywood Studios to make way for a Monsters, Inc. land. In Magic Kingdom, Tom Sawyer Island and Rivers of America have closed to make way for a new Cars expansion (plus a Villains land is coming to the park, too). Parts of DinoLand, U.S.A. have already closed in Disney’s Animal Kingdom to make way for a new Tropical Americas-themed land. Test Track will reopen soon In EPCOT, Test Track has been closed for over a year so that it could get a completely new theme and upgrade. Well, that ride is reopening soon, and that’s going to change how you use Lightning Lanes in EPCOT. We’re going to break it down for you. On July 22nd, Test Track will reopen, and Lightning Lanes will change in EPCOT. Here’s what to expect. First, Test Track will be added to Lightning Lane Multi Pass as a Tier 1 attraction. Soarin’, which is currently a Tier 1 attraction, will then become a Tier 2 attraction. Test Track So here’s how that works: Disney World visitors can preselect one Tier 1 Lightning Lane in advance, as well as two Tier 2 Lightning Lanes. The three Tier 1 Lightning Lanes to choose from include Frozen Ever After, Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure, and Test Track. The Tier 2 Lightning Lanes include Disney and Pixar Short Film Festival, Journey Into Imagination with Figment, Living with the Land, Mission: SPACE, The Seas with Nemo & Friends, Soarin’, Spaceship Earth, and Turtle Talk with Crush. Note that Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind is still a Lightning Lane Single Pass attraction. Soarin’ Lightning Lane This could change your strategy for your Lightning Lane preselections in EPCOT, especially if Test Track is a priority. Note that you can still book Lightning Lanes on the day of your EPCOT visit after you’ve scanned into your first Lightning Lane for all attraction tiers. Frozen Ever After Lightning Lane Remember that Disney World hotel guests can preselect Lightning Lanes seven days in advance of the first day of their trip, while everyone else can book three days in advance. If you’re heading to EPCOT on or after July 22nd, though, you’ll want to make note of these changes. Stay tuned to DFB for more. “Make It FastPass Again” — Lightning Lane Multi Pass Needs 5 BIG Changes in Disney World Join the DFB Newsletter to get all the breaking news right in your inbox! If you’re heading to Disney World today, we’ve got a word of warning for you! Cinderella Castle It’s certainly no secret that the summertime can be extremely hot in Central Florida — but the National Weather Service issued a major heat risk warning for the area on July 18th, 2025, that you need to know about if you’ll be spending any time at Disney World. Heads up if you’re heading to Disney World today — it’s a scorcher out there! The National Weather Service has issued a Level 3 (out of 4) Major Heat Risk warning for much of Central Florida. EPCOT! This means that there is a Major Risk of heat-related illnesses for much of the population, especially those without effective cooling or hydration. In addition, there’s a warning that there is “little to no relief at night,” and that fans and open windows at night will not be enough — air conditioning is necessary. ©National Weather Service The NWC recommends drinking plenty of water and wearing lightweight, light-colored clothing. Try to avoid doing outdoor activities during the hottest parts of the day — head to lunch or an indoor ride if you’re at Disney World. Make sure you take breaks and stay out of the heat if you’re starting to feel its impacts. ©National Weather Service Heat index values of up to 108 are expected, with hot temperatures and high humidity leading to heat-related illnesses. At Disney World, make sure you take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose-fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning or evening, and take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke. If you begin to feel faint at Disney World, look for a nearby Cast Member and take a seat. Unfortunately, getting heatstroke at Disney World is pretty common, and Cast Members are trained to get you assistance if you need it. It’s also a great time to take a midday nap back at your hotel! Disney’s Hollywood Studios If you’re heading to Disney World today, make sure you stay hydrated and cool! Take breaks in the air conditioning when you can and make sure you drink plenty of water. Sunscreen is a must as well — you don’t want to get a sunburn on your vacation. We’ll be on the lookout for additional weather updates you need to know about at Disney World. Disneyland just turned 70 years old, y’all! And to celebrate, the park is having a HUGE 70th Anniversary Celebration that will last until next year. Disneyland 70th anniversary That means, you have at least a whole year to check out the return of the Paint The Night parade, as well as all the 70th Anniversary decor, PLUS enjoy some special 70th Anniversary snacks and drinks. Speaking of which, we just discovered a new 70th Anniversary DOLE Whip treat, so OBVIOUSLY, we had to try it and share our thoughts with you. Let’s head on over to Adventureland to visit The Tropical Hideaway, Disneyland’s main spot for picking up that most FAMOUS of Disney snacks, the iconic DOLE Whip. However, we came here to snag a Pineapple Upside Down Sundae made with DOLE Whip Pineapple, Caramel Drizzle, and Pineapple Upside-down cake with a Maraschino Cherry served in the all-new Disneyland 70th Celebration Cup for $10.69. Pineapple Upside Down Sundae Okay, we have a warning about this sundae: the cake tends to get soggy in it, so if you’re not a fan of soggy cake, you might want to stick with a regular DOLE Whip. We’ve had similar snacks before with bigger chunks of cake that didn’t get soggy, but, yep, this is soggy DOLE Whip-soaked cake. There are a lot of pineapple chunks, cake pieces, and caramel, though, and we really loved the caramel layer on the bottom. Soggy cake As you can see, you can also get this in a special 70th Anniversary souvenir cup. However, you can get the cup with any flavor of DOLE Whip, including the brand new Peach DOLE Whip flavor we so recently became obsessed with. Peach DOLE Whip So be sure to grab that cup the next time you’re craving a DOLE Whip in Disneyland. We’ll also be covering ALL the 70th Anniversary Celebration snacks and drinks, so stay tuned to DFB for more reviews. Want to Learn More About Disneyland? Check Out the Links Below! If there’s one thing you should know about us here at DFB, it’s that we LOVE dining in EPCOT. EPCOT There’s just something special about eating around the World Showcase or exploring one of the fun themed restaurants in the front of the park. The food here is just special! And one of our favorite places to dine — Chefs de France — recently changed its menu. Today we’re taking you along to try out the new eats! Atmosphere Chefs de France is located in the front of the France Pavilion at EPCOT. In fact, it’s the most prominent restaurant in the whole pavilion! Chefs de France You check in for your meal under the awning at the entrance of the restaurant, and you’ll be called inside once your table is ready. Come on in The indoor space is home to multiple dining rooms, and they’re all STUNNING. There’s a lot of natural light in this space due to the many windows along the wall. Beautiful windows The tables here are set elegantly, with our napkins and silverware waiting for us. Have a seat! Now, it’s time to try out the eats! Menu The menu has changed a little bit since our last visit here, and we’re hoping to try out some of the newer items today! As you can guess, the restaurant serves French fare, with appetizer options like escargots and French Onion Soup. The menu For entrees, you can snag one of the seafood dishes, like Fruits de la Mer or the salmon filet, as well as other options like pork shank, Ratatouille, or Boeuf Bourguignon. And to wrap up your meal for dessert, they serve classics like macarons, Crème Brûlée, and cream puffs. The menu If you’re looking to dine on a budget, you can also try their prix fixe Menu Français, which comes with an appetizer, entrée, dessert, and beverage, all for $67.95. We opted to order dishes individually because the Annual Passholder discount cannot be applied to the prix fixe menu. Eats We started with Bread Service, which we think is the best way to start a meal. Bread Service You get a whole baguette with a light, sourdough-like tanginess, served with butter and chunks of salt. The bread is nice and crispy, but the inside is so soft and fluffy, and the contrast of the two textures gives it a great chew. The bread is baked fresh from Les Halles, also located in the France Pavilion, and you can taste the freshness. The fluffy inside We grabbed the Cassolette d’escarpots de Bourgogne au beurre persille (Escatgot) for $17.95. This is a casserole of Burgundian escarpots baked in parsley and garlic butter. Escargot Yum! This dish is delightfully salty, but the garlic and butter are the primary flavors we tasted. It felt like they were swimming in butter, and we’re here for it! Some of the snails were a bit slimier than others, but the texture is chewy, especially paired with the light and fluffy pastry on top. The parsley rounds out the flavor, and the whole dish is light and a perfect way to start our meal (okay, and we were kind of obsessed with the tiny fork). We know snails can be intimidating, but these are amazing! For the entree, we snagged the Poulet Cordon Bleu, which is $39.95 and brand-new here! Breaded Chicken breast, smoked ham, potato puree, peas, and bechamel all come together to make this dish. Poulet Cordon Bleu We wish we could eat this every day! The chicken was stuffed with salty ham and covered in a thin, crispy crust. We dunked each bite into the bechamel sauce, and it was just perfection. The potatoes were smooth and buttery, and the peas burst in our mouths in a lovely way. We’re going to have a hard time resisting the urge to order this every time we visit. Inside And to wrap up the meal, we snagged the Gateau aux 3 chocolats, glace a la vanille. This is $14.95, and it replaced our beloved chocolate tart that used to be on the menu. It’s made with a three-layer chocolate mousse cake and served with vanilla ice cream on the side. Chocolate on chocolate This was a perfect way to round out our dinner. The chocolate was rich and creamy, and the layer of cake on the bottom was moist and fluffy. The vanilla ice cream has strong vanilla flavors with cake crumbles on the side, and we thought the ice cream was the real standout. We’re not sure we love it as much as we loved the chocolate tart. While we certainly enjoyed this chocolate-heavy dessert, we’ll probably try something else for our next visit that’s a bit more unique. It was so pretty, too So, how did everything stack up? Nosh or Not This Disney World restaurant is a must-visit if… You’re looking for an upscale dinner with high-quality dishes You love traditional French dishes and the salty, buttery flavors that come with them You want to try dishes you’ve always heard of, and want them to be as authentic as possible You should skip this Disney World spot if… You’re looking for a more affordable dining option You prefer lighter dishes You want more familiar dishes or less authentic options (hey, we get it!) Overall We’re always dreaming about Chefs de France, and after this meal, we’re already looking at booking another reservation. The Poulet Cordon Bleu is new to the menu and was worth every penny. With the appetizers and dessert, the whole meal was well balanced and a delicious stop in EPCOT. In the meantime, we’ll be on the lookout for more restaurant updates from Disney World and beyond. Heads up! A major Disney World change is happening soon, and Disney just issued a warning about it. ©Disney Disney Starlight: Dream the Night Away is a NEW nighttime parade debuting on Main Street in Magic Kingdom on July 20th. But this parade is expected to be extremely popular, so Disney is making a significant change to its Park Pass Reservation system. Ahead of those changes, Disney has shared an update on the My Disney Experience app and website. Starting on July 20th, Annual Passholders visiting Magic Kingdom at any time of the day (including after 2 PM) MUST have a theme park reservation. Disney anticipates there will be some heavy crowds during and shortly after the premiere of Starlight, so this is how they intend to manage that capacity for the time being. ©Disney A new warning has been posted on the Disney World website that says, “For a limited time, starting July 20, 2025, Passholders visiting Magic Kingdom park at any time of day (including after 2:00 PM) must have a theme park reservation.” ©Disney Typically, Annual Passholders only need park pass reservations for Magic Kingdom on Saturdays and Sundays after 2 PM. At EPCOT, Hollywood Studios, and Animal Kingdom — nothing has changed. This new update only applies to Magic Kingdom beginning on July 20th, 2025 for a limited time. ©Disney If you missed your chance or forgot to make a park reservation for Magic Kingdom on July 20th, keep in mind that you can still park hop. Just book a reservation at any of the other three parks and then hop over to Magic Kingdom. Don’t forget that park hopping is subject to availability, so if Magic Kingdom is at capacity before you get there, you might be out of luck. ©Disney This new parade will take place at 9 PM and 11 PM, except on nights with specialty parades, such as Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party. Unlike other Magic Kingdom parades, this one will begin on Main Street and will end in Frontierland — usually it’s the opposite. ©Disney Disney Starlight will feature beloved characters from Walt Disney Animation Studios and Disney Pixar films, and some will be making their nighttime parade debut! As it begins, Disney Starlight will be “brought to life by the magic of the Blue Fairy” from the Disney animated classic, Pinocchio. Parade viewers will see Disney characters from Walt Disney Animation Studios films such as Encanto, Frozen, and Peter Pan. (You’ll see Wendy, too!) ©Disney We can’t WAIT to see Disney Starlight when it debuts at Magic Kingdom, and we’ll be bringing you our FULL coverage when we do. Disneyland is celebrating a HUGE milestone — the 70th anniversary of the park! Birthday button So far, we’ve seen the return of some beloved shows, as well as limited-time entertainment, colorful decor, special food and beverages, exclusive merchandise, and more! While we were spending time in the park on its official anniversary, July 17th, we happened to notice a new DOLE Whip flavor we had never seen before — so of course, we had to try it! While we were enjoying the 70th anniversary festivities at Disneyland, we noticed there was a NEW DOLE Whip flavor at Tropical Hideaway — so of course, we had to grab it. It’s not technically a 70th anniversary treat, but you can get it in a 70th Souvenir Cup for an upcharge. Introducing the PEACH DOLE WHIP! We grabbed ours for $7.29. PEACH DOLE WHIP! Any time there’s a new DOLE Whip flavor, we get excited — and this is no different. This is quite good if you are a peach lover. If you are only so-so on the peach flavor, you probably will not enjoy this. The flavor here is pretty natural peach — there’s less powerful peach flavor than peach gummy candy like a peach ring, but it packs more of a punch than biting into a fresh peach. It is the same texture as the other DOLE Whips — slightly less creamy than soft serve, but still remarkably creamy for a non-dairy treat. As peach fans, we REALLY liked this and hope it sticks around! It’s not as classic as pineapple, but still fruity and refreshing, and a fun new addition to the DOLE Whip lineup. Souvenir cup We’ll be exploring more of Disneyland’s new 70th anniversary celebrations and offerings! In the meantime, make sure you stay tuned to the Disney Food Blog for the latest Disney food reviews, news, and more. See More DOLE Whip Reviews Here! Want to Learn More About Disneyland? We asked Orlando Sentinel readers for their votes in several major theme park categories, and the results are in with a lot of Epcot, Magic Kingdom and Wizarding World(s) of Harry Potter mentions. The final tallies weren’t too crazy, and participants got around town to make a list of favorites. There’s also a handful of categories for dislikes, unless queasiness is considered a good thing. We’re sharing the top three vote-getters in each category, and, just for grins, follow up with my opinions. Among the mild surprises, readers unclenched on Splash Mountain issues and embraced Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, are fans of Disney’s Animal Kingdom eateries and carry deep Mission: Space feelings. This exercise was held in the earliest days of Epic Universe, so we are waiting for more people to get through its portals before tossing those attractions into the mix (stay tuned for your chance to vote those in at the end of the summer). In the meantime, butterbeer cheers to your Orlando theme park favorites. Ricardo Ramirez Buxeda/Orlando SentinelUniversal's VelociCoaster at Islands of Adventure is at the top of the Theme Park Ranger's roller coaster list. (Ricardo Ramirez Buxeda/Orlando Sentinel)Favorite roller coaster READERS: Top pick was Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind at Epcot. A distant second was Jurassic World VelociCoaster at Islands of Adventure, which edged out IOA sister attraction Hagrid’s Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure for the runner-up crown. DB: VelociCoaster tops my coaster list with SeaWorld Orlando’s Mako nipping at its heels. Magic Kingdom visitors are accompanied by a ghostly figure in a Haunted Mansion doom buggy. (Courtesy Walt Disney Co.)Favorite dark ride READERS: Magic Kingdom’s Haunted Mansion is the dark favorite. Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey at Islands and Magic Kingdom’s Space Mountain are next on the list. DB: I have almost no quibble with Haunted Mansion, but the Amazing Adventures of Spider-Man ride, an Islands of Adventure original, sets the standard. But hold on, Tower of Terror at Hollywood Studios is also top notch. The famous tune — and life policy — from "The Lion King" is a popular parody on shirts come Epcot's Food & Wine season. (Orlando Sentinel file)Favorite must-do / most recommended READERS: Eating and drinking around the World (Showcase), a home-made T-shirt fave, gets the must-do nod. Cosmic Rewind and the Hagrid ride also finished favorably. DB: For years, I’ve said if you go to Magic Kingdom and don’t do Haunted Mansion, did you really do Magic Kingdom? Favorite animatronic READERS: The figures in Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance at Hollywood Studios top the chart, followed by the robotic families in Magic Kingdom’s Carousel of Progress and the multi-arm shaman in Na’vi River Journey at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. DB: Let’s give it up for the ensemble animatronic cast of Skull Island: Reign of Kong at Islands of Adventure. There’s an intriguing shawoman (and a wiggly worm thing) in the queue, Terapusmordax hanging around and the sniffing mega-Kong head that ends the experience. Festival of the Lion King at Disney's Animal Kingdom takes the top spot with readers. (Orlando Sentinel file)Favorite stage show READERS: “Festival of the Lion King” at Disney’s Animal Kingdom earns the most applause, followed by Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular at Disney’s Hollywood Studios and The Bourne Stuntacular at Universal Studios. DB: “Lion King” is emotional (you can feel the love tonight), athletic (tumble monkeys) and educational (learn what a giraffe sounds like). Disney's Haunted Mansion was popular when it opened with the Magic Kingdom in 1971, and it remains popular today. (Orlando Sentinel File)Favorite original (there when the park opened) ride READERS: It’s a tie — with an asterisk — between longtime Magic Kingdom attractions Haunted Mansion and Pirates of the Caribbean. Next up is E.T. Adventure, the last original ride standing at Universal Studios. DB: Oh, readers. Bless your hearts. Pirates is not an original MK attraction. It just feels like it because it opened in 1973, two years after Magic Kingdom debuted. The Mansion is a strong pick, but Spider-Man at IOA is too. The Great Movie Ride at Disney's Hollywood Studios closed Aug. 13, 2017. (Orlando Sentinel file)Favorite no-longer-with-us ride READERS: The Great Movie Ride, which closed at Hollywood Studios in 2017, has the most misty-eyed fans. Runners-up include Jaws, which left Universal Studios in 2012, and Magic Kingdom’s madcap Mr. Toad’s Wild Ride, which exited in 1998. DB: Feeling sentimental about Dueling Dragons, a pre-Potter coaster at Islands. (It was renamed Dragon Challenge and then dismantled in 2017 to introduce the Hagrid ride.) And although it wasn’t a ride, this feels like a good time to mention “IllumiNations: Reflections of Earth,” the end-of-night spectacular that closed at Epcot in 2019 after a 20-year run. JOE BURBANK, ORLANDO SENTINELReaders picked the queue for Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey ride at the Wizarding World of Harry Potter, at Universal's Islands of Adventure in Orlando, as their favorite. (Orlando Sentinel file)Favorite queue READERS: Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey wins the most hearts with its tour of Hogwarts. Beyond that, it’s Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance at Hollywood Studios (stormtrooper alert) and Haunted Mansion again. DB: For the variety within the halls of Hogwarts, we agree on Forbidden Journey. Hot take: If I suddenly were Disney Czar, I’d be entertaining options to the stretching room “there’s always my way” climax. Orlando Sentinel readers chose Disney's Dole Whip treat as their favorite theme park frozen snack. (Courtesy Walt Disney Co.)Favorite frozen snack READERS: Dole Whip, a Magic Kingdom staple, leads the way. Mickey Bar, found in multiple Disney World locations, is second, followed by Universal’s ever-flowing butterbeer. DB: Chocolate gives Mickey Bar the edge. Guests try out butterbeer at the Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal Orlando theme park. (John Raoux/Associated Press)Favorite themed drink READERS: Say cheers to butterbeer, followed by “anything from Trader Sam’s” and the Night Blossom sold at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. DB: I’ll agree to a butterbeer option. As it turns out, most of the beverages I consume at the parks are available at Publix and Starbucks. Readers chose Le Cellier Steakhouse as their favorite sit-down restaurant. (Ricardo Ramirez Buxeda/Orlando Sentinel)Favorite sit-down restaurant READERS: Le Cellier Steakhouse at Epcot’s Canada pavilion is the favorite, eh? Also on the menu of top eateries: Tiffins at Disney’s Animal Kingdom and Mythos at Islands of Adventure. DB: Skipper Canteen, the Jungle Cruise-inspired eatery at Magic Kingdom, has a good blend of theming, seating and escaping from the MK masses. Lauren Delgado / Orlando SentinelThe blueberry cream cheese mousse at Satu'li Canteen, a restaurant in Disney's Pandora — The World of Avatar in Animal Kingdom. (Orlando Sentinel file)Favorite quick-service restaurant READERS: Split decision between Magic Kingdom’s Columbia Harbour House and Satu’li Canteen at Animal Kingdom. Third is Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Cafe at Magic Kingdom. DB: Unusual entrees, serenity and air-conditioning make Satu’li Canteen a winner. Epcot International Food & Wine Festival tops the list for readers for special events at a theme park. (Courtesy Olga Thompson/Walt Disney Co.)Favorite special event READERS: Epcot International Food & Wine Festival tops the list, followed by Universal’s Halloween Horror Nights and Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party at Magic Kingdom. DB: When I pay a special price for an event, I want to feel special, and Not-So-Scary achieves that with an atmosphere that’s not like another day in the park. (You could say the say about HHN, but that one prompts me to walk in a defensive position.) In Peter Pan's Flight at Magic Kingdom theme park, a revised scene now features the Neverland Tribe's harvest celebration. (Courtesy Olga Thompson/Walt Disney Co.)Favorite kids ride READERS: Peter Pan’s Flight, another Magic Kingdom original, wins the kids ride vote, followed by E.T. Adventure from Universal Studios and the Barnstormer roller coaster at Magic Kingdom. DB: Seconding the motion for Peter Pan’s Flight, loving the lift-off, little London, Tick-Tock and Hook. Here we go. (Hmm, there are echoes of this at E.T., too.) Tiana's Bayou Adventure at Disney's Magic Kingdom leads the list for favorite water ride. (Joe Burbank/Orlando Sentinel)Favorite water ride READERS: Voters still think Tiana’s Bayou Adventure at Magic Kingdom is a splash. Islands of Adventure is home to two runners-up: Jurassic Park River Adventure and Dudley Do-Right’s Ripsaw Falls. DB: Jurassic Park has a multi-whammy ending of dino danger, steep decline, showy splash and cue the theme song. (For a proper drenching, we send folks to nearby Popeye & Bluto’s Bilge-Rat Barges.) The Wizarding World of Harry Potter, at Universal's Islands of Adventure, is the favorite themed land of readers. (Joe Burbank/Orlando Sentinel)Favorite themed land READERS: Wizarding World of Harry Potter is head of this class. Next up: World Showcase of Epcot and Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Hollywood Studios. DB: Wanted to say Galaxy’s Edge just for Millennium Falcon, but there’s just so darned much Potter these days. Joe Burbank/Orlando SentinelReaders choose the "Happily Ever After" show at Disney's Magic Kingdom as their favorite night show. (Joe Burbank/Orlando Sentinel)Favorite night show READERS: “Happily Ever After” makes people happy at Magic Kingdom, voters say. See also “Fantasmic!” at Hollywood Studios and the Hogwarts light shows at Islands of Adventure. DB: “Happily Ever After,” which melds pyro, projections and modern classics “How Far I’ll Go” (written by Lin-Manuel Miranda), “Love Is an Open Door” (Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez) and “Go the Distance” (Alan Menken and David Zippel). Epcot's Mission: Space attraction will make you the most queasy, say Orlando Sentinel readers. (Joe Burbank/Orlando Sentinel)Ride makes you the most queasy READERS: Voters resoundingly hold their hands over their mouths while pick Mission: Space, the Epcot spin fest. Runner-up stomach-turners: The Incredible Hulk Coaster at IOA and Epcot’s Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind, ironically their top coaster pick. DB: Going off the board for Dr. Doom’s Fear Fall, the drop tower experience at Islands. I’ll just sit over here and hold the purses. Universal's Fast & Furious Supercharged attraction is a close second to Epcot's Mission: Space in the "I'll Never Ride That Again" category.(Joe Burbank/Orlando Sentinel)I’ll-never-ride-that-again ride READERS: Nausea wins again with Mission: Space at the top spot. Then it’s Fast & Furious – Supercharged, a maligned ride at Universal Studios and Cosmic Rewind again. DB: Issues beyond queasiness for Mission: Space are claustrophobia, centrifugal force facelifts and fear of contact lenses flying out of eyes. Joe Burbank / Orlando SentinelReaders chose Fast & Furious - Supercharged as their most hated ride. (Joe Burbank/Orlando Sentinel)Most hated ride READERS: Fast & Furious – Supercharged was the most likely attraction to cause fury, according to the poll. Nausea must persist into this category, too, as Mission: Space was second. We’ll blame earworms and precious children from around the globe for the third-place standing of “it’s a small world,” another Magic Kingdom opening-day attraction still on endless loop. DB: Hate is such a strong word. So let’s retool to “I don’t get it but others really, really love it” with Living With the Land, the slow boat ride/greenhouse tour in the World Nature neighborhood of Epcot.
