  1. Epic Universe is shaping up to be a game-changer for theme park fans, but that doesn’t mean every “upgrade” fits every park-goer. Epic Universe While plenty of guests love the idea of grabbing a refillable mug and getting unlimited soda, I passed. And I passed for a few really specific (and honestly practical) reasons that might help you figure out whether this add-on is right for you, too. Let’s break it down I Just Want Water, and I Can Bring My Own Bottle Refillable mug? Cool idea. But if I’m being honest, I don’t need all the bells and whistles — just give me water and I’m good. Epic Universe has made it super easy to fill up your own bottle with filtered water with their refill stations throughout the park. Water Bottle Refill Also, the freestyle machines are accessible for everyone, even if you don’t have a refillable cup. I’ve brought my own insulated water bottle and was thrilled to see how simple it was to stay hydrated without paying extra. Coca- Cola Freestyle Machine When it’s 90 degrees and I’m melting, I’m not reaching for soda — I want ice-cold water. And not having to commit to a mug I barely use? That’s a win. I’m Not a “12 Cups of Coke” Kind of Person Let’s be real: if you’re going to drop $12–$15 on a refillable mug, you kind of need to be a heavy soda drinker to get your money’s worth. My ol’ reliable refillable mug! Sometimes, I just want one Coke. Not six. Not even three. And I don’t love the idea of just drinking soda because I paid for it. If I get one refill and I’m done for the day, I’m now holding a $12 reminder that I overspent. Epic Universe Refillable Frestyle Cup If your plan is to ride a few coasters, grab dinner, and head out, you’re probably not going to get more than two refills in. That’s around $2–$2.50 per drink if you split it out, which is fine, but not a deal. I’d rather just buy a fountain drink once if I want one and call it a day. I Might Not Be in the Park Long Enough to Justify It This one might be the biggest dealbreaker for me. We tend to pop into Epic Universe in the late afternoon or evening, especially during summer when it’s cooler and crowds are starting to thin out. That means we’re usually there for maybe three or four hours max. How To Train Your Dragon — Isle of Berk In that window, we’re not stopping every half hour for a drink. Maybe we grab one while waiting in line, and then another at dinner. That’s it. Again, that puts us in that two-refill territory — still not worth the full mug price. Epic Universe Refillable Frestyle Cup The refillable mugs are a better value for people who arrive early, stay all day, and like to sip on soda, Powerade, or tea constantly. That’s not how we do the parks, so the math just doesn’t add up. Sometimes I’d Rather Try the Cocktails and Mocktails Epic Universe is packed with incredible drinks, and we’re not just talking soda. Lobe Blaster Every new land has its own themed bars and lounges, and the specialty cocktails and mocktails are a huge part of the experience. From glowing drinks in Celestial Park to immersive concoctions in How to Train Your Dragon’s land, it’s the kind of stuff you want to try at least once (or twice… or three times). First Light Mocktail And none of those are included in the refillable mug. So if I’m spending money on drinks in the park, it’s going toward those fun, unique creations, not unlimited lemonade. Final Thoughts Look, refillable mugs aren’t a bad deal — but they’re definitely not a one-size-fits-all situation. If you’re in Epic Universe for a full day, plan to stay in the same park, and love soda, go for it. But for folks like me who just want some cold water and maybe a single fizzy drink, the math — and the value — just doesn’t make sense. 3. There is LOTS of construction happening in Disney World right now! Progress is being made on the new Lakeshore Lodge being built by Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground, work is being done in the former Muppets Courtyard to bring the new Monsters, Inc. Land to life in Disney’s Hollywood Studios, walls have gone up around the Rivers of America in preparation for the new Cars area coming to Magic Kingdom, and workers are hard at work on Pueblo Esperanza coming to Disney’s Animal Kingdom. DinoLand Construction We have been keeping an eye on the Pueblo Esperanza construction from inside Disney’s Animal Kingdom. So far, a lot has been demolished and leveled in preparation for a Tropical Americas-themed land. Now, we’re getting an even better look at what’s been happening at Animal Kingdom, thanks to Bioreconstruct. Pueblo Esperanza is a NEW Tropical Americas-themed land coming to Disney’s Animal Kingdom in 2027. This new expansion will be an 11-acre land that will replace DinoLand, U.S.A. Pueblo Esperanza will be home to two signature attractions — an Encanto ride featuring the Madrigal family and a new Indiana Jones adventure ride! Additionally, it will be home to one of the largest quick-service restaurants in Disney World, a carousel ride, and a play area. Overview of Pueblo Esperanza coming to Disney’s Animal Kingdom While there is still a lot of work to be done until this new land opens in 2027, @bioreconstruct just posted some fantastic photos of the construction progress from above! The first photo is a general overview of the area. In the bottom of the photo, you can spot The Boneyard play area and the construction walls that can be seen from inside the park. To the left is “Finding Nemo: The Big Blue…and Beyond!” and to the right is the DINOSAUR ride building. @bioreconstruct on X The next photo is looking at the construction site from the side. In this photo, DINOSAUR would be at the bottom of the photo. You can see lots of vehicles and work in progress. @bioreconstruct on X You can even see that workers are adding in elevation change to this construction area. It is believed that this area will be home to the new Encanto ride coming to Pueblo Esperanza, as the Indiana Jones ride will be replacing DINOSAUR. At the top of the picture is the building for “Finding Nemo: The Big Blue…and Beyond!” and the DINOSAUR ride building is in the bottom of the photo. @bioreconstruct on X May as well take a look at it from one more angle! This photo is looking into Animal Kingdom. The walls at the top of the photo are the walls you can see from inside the park and the white roofs just beyond them is The Boneyard. @bioreconstruct on X Additionally, they posted an aerial photo of the Imagineering offices at Animal Kingdom, along with models of exteriors to the left of the photo. The exterior models are “small sections of features of upcoming attractions.” Weathering is tested and color selections can be seen. @bioreconstruct on X Like we said, Disney is still in the early stages of construction, but we always love taking a look at the progress! Closures for this construction is happening in phases. TriceraTop Spin, Fossil Fun Games, and Chester & Hester’s Dinosaur Treasures at Animal Kingdom all permanently closed as of January 13th. The Boneyard play area will permanently closed on September 2nd, 2025. Closing dates for the rest of DinoLand, U.S.A. including DINOSAUR and Restaurantosaurus have not been announced yet. Although, Disney has stated in regard to DINOSAUR that “2025 is your year to visit before it goes extinct!” DINOSAUR Stay tuned to DFB for all your Disney World news! 4. We recently said goodbye to Muppets Courtyard in Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and we’re anxiously awaiting the arrival of the Muppets at Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster. Monsters, Inc. Concept Art — Posted June 2025 in Hollywood Studios In the meantime, Disney has been busy building a brand new Monsters, Inc. land in the old Muppets Courtyard. We’ve previously seen some aerial photos of the work being done, as well as seen just how huge the new Monsters, Inc. ride will be, as well as where it will be located. Well, now we’ve got a construction update on the Monsters, Inc. land with new aerial photos. As we mentioned, we’ve previously seen the location for the new Monsters, Inc. ride, which will be Disney’s first suspended roller coaster EVER (and we are SO excited). The new ride will recreate the doors scene from the first Monsters, Inc. movie, and honestly, IT’S ABOUT TIME WE GOT THIS RIDE. Some new aerial photos by @bioreconstruct give us a new close-up look at the location where the ride will go, which is a Cast Member parking lot that has recently been cleared for construction. ©bioreconstruct We also know just where the show building is going in that space. These yellow lines indicate the Monsters, Inc. ride’s show building space. So it looks like the show building won’t take up the whole space of the former parking lot, but it still looks like the space that isn’t the show building might still be part of the new land. ©bioreconstruct So what does the rest of Monsters, Inc. land look like right now? Well, Muppets fans…brace yourselves because this could hurt a little. We previously noticed that the Miss Piggy fountain is now officially gone (although we really hope she turns up somewhere else because that fountain was EPIC). Some signs and things have also been removed, and the land is starting to look a little bare as it gets ready for its transformation. ©bioreconstruct Here’s a look at the land from another angle. ©bioreconstruct Another aerial photo shows demolition work being done in front of what was once PizzeRizzo (the sign still seems to be up for that restaurant, though — rat pizza is gone, but not forgotten). ©bioreconstruct Disney has not revealed an official timeline for the new land’s opening, but it looks like construction progress is moving right along. We’ll be keeping an eye out for more construction updates, so stay tuned to DFB for more. 9. EPCOT’s Food & Wine Festival is amazing… until you realize you’ve spent 30 minutes in line for a tiny plate of festival goodness and nowhere to set it down. 2024 Food and Wine Festival The truth is, this festival is one of the best events Disney puts on, but it can also be chaotic, crowded, and completely overwhelming if you’re not prepared. That’s why we’re sharing the actual tricks that make a huge difference — the ones seasoned festival-goers swear by but most people overlook. If you’re heading to EPCOT for the festival, there’s one move that will instantly level up your whole experience — and a couple of smart add-ons that make the day smoother, tastier, and way more fun. Bring a Tray — We’re Serious We’re not kidding when we say this is the move that separates first-timers from pros. We always bring a tray! You know how it goes — you order that super-hyped dish from the Japan booth, then spot the drink you’ve been dying to try at the Mexico booth, and suddenly you’re carrying two plates, a drink, your phone, and maybe a fork in your mouth because all the tables are full. If that sounds chaotic, that’s because it is. Fire Taiko Roll from the Japan Marketplace Booth Bringing a tray with you is a total game-changer. It gives you a flat surface for your food and drinks, and lets you carry multiple items without risking a sauce spill all over your shirt. It also makes it easier to grab what you want from a booth and then find a quieter spot to enjoy it. And when tables are full (which they usually are), you won’t have to stalk a trash can just to find a place to set your food down. Get a Tray! People use all kinds of trays — plastic cafeteria trays, small baking sheets, even foldable ones that fit in backpacks. It doesn’t have to be fancy. It just needs to be light, easy to wipe off, and big enough to fit a couple dishes and a drink. You’ll get curious looks, sure, but you’ll also get jealous ones. And your hands will thank you. Don’t Wing It — Make a Food Plan Ahead of Time It’s tempting to show up and “just see what looks good,” but trust us: that’s the fastest way to waste time, money, and stomach space. The Fry Basket Menu 2024 Menus are posted online before the festival starts, and you can bet we’re over here analyzing every booth and ranking the standouts for you. Scroll through those menus before you go and decide what dishes you absolutely want to try, and which ones you’re okay skipping. Not only does this help with budgeting and pacing, but it also keeps you from standing in the middle of World Showcase trying to decide if that Canada cheddar soup is worth sweating in July for (spoiler: it’s not quite as magical in the heat). 2024 Australia Menu Also, and this is important — don’t book dining reservations on your festival day. Sit-down meals take up way too much time and space in your stomach. Food & Wine is the meal. If you’re going to eat a $40 steak somewhere, let it be four incredible small plates instead. Avoid the Weekends If You Can The best thing you can do for your sanity is to plan your festival day for a weekday, especially earlier in the day. Crowds in EPCOT Weekends at the EPCOT Food & Wine Festival get packed. We’re talking shoulder-to-shoulder, line-around-the-booth crowds that make it hard to even see the menu, much less get near the register. Locals love this festival just as much as tourists do, and they flock to EPCOT on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays. If you’ve ever been in line behind someone ordering one of everything for their entire group while holding a giant drink in each hand, you know what we’re talking about. Yep, it’s busy Visiting on a Tuesday or Wednesday afternoon is a completely different vibe. Booth lines are shorter, Cast Members have time to chat, and you can actually enjoy your food without being bumped into every 30 seconds. It’s not always easy to swing a weekday off, but if you can make it happen, it’s absolutely worth it. Want a Concert Seat? Book an Eat to the Beat Dining Package If one of your favorite artists is playing at the Eat to the Beat Concert Series, don’t take your chances on standby seating. Disney brings in some seriously popular acts (we’re looking at you, Hanson and Boys II Men), and those shows fill up fast. Eat to the Beat 2022 The easiest way to guarantee yourself a seat is to book an Eat to the Beat dining package. You’ll get a reserved seat for the concert and a meal at a participating EPCOT restaurant. You can score a reserved seat by buying an Eat to the Beat dining package! If you still want to eat your way through the festival, look for the Regal Eagle Smokehouse option — it’s quick service, which means you can grab something casual and still lock in your concert seat. Just know that option is very limited and sells out fast, so act quickly once booking opens. Bottom Line You don’t need to over-engineer your day to have fun at the Food & Wine Festival, but a few simple tricks can completely change your experience. Bring a tray so you’re not juggling plates like a street performer. Make a food plan so you’re not wasting time or money. Avoid weekends like the plague. You’ll eat better, feel less stressed, and walk away with fewer regrets. 2024 Food and Wine Festival There is so much to look forward to at the Food & Wine Festival, and we’re just counting down the days until we can run from food booth to food booth to try everything new. 10. We’ve all smelled it, and we all know it’s not pixie dust. On Main Street, U.S.A. Disney World days are long, sweaty, and exhausting — and that’s when everything’s going right. You can plan your heart out, show up bright and early, and still find yourself melting by noon. And while we can’t control the Florida heat, we can beg Disney to do one small thing that would make everyone’s day better: start selling deodorant or deodorizing wipes in more places. Like, every single store. Because We Can All Be Pretty Smelly. We’re not here to shame. Things happen! You forget a step in the morning rush to make your Lightning Lane. Your travel-size deodorant exploded in your bag. Or maybe you didn’t expect to start sweating like you’re in a hot yoga class just by walking from the bus to the front gate. It’s fine. We’ve been there. The temperatures can get quite high over here! But here’s the thing — once you realize you forgot deodorant, you’re stuck. It’s not like there’s a CVS in Fantasyland. Sure, First Aid might have something if you ask, but most guests aren’t even aware of that option, and they’re definitely not going to hoof it all the way across the park just to check. Wouldn’t it be great if there was just…a little shelf in the Emporium with a few travel-size basics? Like deodorant. Or wipes. Or both. This Isn’t a Big Ask Disney already sells tons of helpful things in their stores — sunscreen, ponchos, pain relievers, baby wipes, body spray (sometimes), mints, lip balm, even blister bandages. But actual deodorant? Rare. You might find it at your resort’s gift shop, but if you’re already in the parks, that’s not helping you. Essentials And let’s be real: Deodorizing wipes would be even better. You could discreetly freshen up in a restroom, do a quick underarm reset, and get back to hugging Mickey without making him question his life choices. These wipes already exist in the real world. They’re compact, effective, and would fit right in next to the breath mints and hand sanitizer. Just toss a few into the shop near Big Thunder or at Creations in EPCOT. Easy win. Everyone Wins Here This isn’t just about your own comfort — it’s about the comfort of everyone around you. Crowded queues, packed shows, shoulder-to-shoulder parades… these are already intense environments. And we all know the combination of heat, sweat, and stress doesn’t smell like roses. Animal Kingdom Crowds The people who know they forgot deodorant? They’d buy it in a second. Nobody wants to be that person in line. Having wipes or a stick of deodorant easily accessible would take the panic out of an “oh no” moment and let people handle the situation quickly and quietly. No drama. No judgment. Final Thought We love Disney World. We’ll keep sweating through it, no matter what. But if we could buy just one thing in the parks to make that sweat a little more bearable? It’s deodorant. Or wipes. Or honestly, both. Degree deodorant We know we’re not the only ones thinking this — so Disney, if you’re listening, this is us politely begging you to consider a tiny addition to your park shops that would make a huge difference for guests and cast members alike. It’s a small step for you. It’s a big leap for our noses. 12. Picture this: you’ve just arrived at your favorite Disney World attraction and located the stroller parking area for your stroller. You are in a hurry, so you park and go, accidentally leaving some snacks out. Have you ever wondered what happens to your stroller and any snacks you might have left in the stroller parking area? Well, your stroller and the stroller snacks may be getting some company! Strollers in Magic Kingdom You may be providing a feast without even knowing it! With how much there is to do in Disney World, it can be helpful to enjoy some snacks on the go. However, we highly recommend bringing some storage containers for those snacks, as you may be feeding unexpected guests otherwise! If you have been to Disney World, you have likely seen a wild animal enjoying a feast from a stroller. Families often leave various food items open without even thinking about it, and animals are more than willing to take advantage. It can be so easy to be in a hurry and forget about that cup of Cheerios you left in your stroller. Well, we spotted a crow that was VERY satisfied with those Cheerios in EPCOT recently! The crow was enjoying its snack! If you are snacking on the go, make sure you seal up your snacks unless you are okay with some animal visitors. We spot all sorts of animals taking advantage of food in strollers. We have seen squirrels and other birds making themselves at home. Who doesn’t love some Cheerios? It is definitely not the end of the world if an animal steals some of your food — although it is probably not the healthiest thing for them and then you will be without your snack. However, we wanted this to serve as a quick reminder to pack away snacks when you are parking your stroller. Also, make sure you are taking any and all valuables with you! 14. A NEW Night at the Museum movie is in the works! According to Deadline, 21 Laps has begun a reimagining of Night at the Museum for 20th Century Studios. The Night at the Museum franchise was incredibly successful, and it appears that movie producers want to see if that remains the case. ©20th Century Studios The third and most recent live-action Night at the Museum movie, Night at the Museum: Secret of the Tomb, was released in December 2014. There has also been an animated Night at the Museum film called Night at the Museum: Kahmunrah Rises Again, which was released in December 2022. The movie franchise focuses on a night watchman at a natural history museum. Everything seems normal, until the exhibits come to life after dark. The first three movies all focused on the same night watchman, Larry Daley, who was played by Ben Stiller. The animated movie is about Nick Daley, who is following in his father’s footsteps as the night watchman. The movies in the series include Night at the Museum, Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian, Night at the Museum: Secret of the Tomb, and Night at the Museum: Kahmunrah Rises Again. ©Walt Disney Pictures While the specifics of the new movie in this franchise haven’t been released, it has been stated that the film will tell a new story set at the museum, featuring all-new characters. This new movie will be written by Tripper Clancy, who has worked on films and shows such as the Die Hart franchise, I am Not Okay With This, and Bolivar. Shawn Levy (who directed the first three Night at the Museum movies and produced the animated film) and Dan Levine will produce the movie for 21 Laps, with Emily Morris overseeing the project for the company. ©20th Century Studios 21 Laps hasn’t released expected dates for this new Night at the Museum movie, but the movie is still in the early stages of production. 16. Airports are already weird enough—turns out, there are some TSA rules that make them even weirder. MCO Airport If you think you know what’s allowed in your carry-on, you might want to think again. While we’re all out here double-checking if our full-size toothpaste is under 3.4 ounces, TSA’s quietly green-lit some pretty unexpected stuff. So next time you’re heading to the airport (maybe even for that magical Disney trip), you might just want to pack a little differently…because these TSA rules are wild. Lock Picks Are (Weirdly) OK Yep, we’re starting here because…what?! While your shampoo is apparently a national security threat, TSA says that lock-picking tools are fair game in carry-ons—as long as no single piece is longer than 7 inches. Now, before anyone gets ideas about turning into a real-life heist movie character, let’s be clear: this doesn’t mean you’re allowed to use them mid-flight (and definitely not at your hotel room door if you forgot your key). ©Amazon This rule is actually more for the hobbyists — yes, that’s a thing. Lock-picking is a legitimate skill, often practiced by engineers and hobbyists for fun (and yes, legally). Just remember: while TSA may give you a green light, local laws in the state you’re flying to might not. So do a quick check of those before you casually toss your toolkit in your carry-on. You Can Bring Antlers (Seriously) We’re not making this up. Deer and elk antlers — real ones — are allowed in both checked and carry-on luggage. We’ll just pause for a second while you picture someone wrestling a full set of antlers into an overhead bin. Because yep, that’s the catch: They have to fit either up there or under the seat in front of you. If they don’t, they’ll be going underneath the plane. ©Amazon This rule feels oddly specific, but if you’re a hunter, taxidermy collector, or maybe bringing back a souvenir from a rustic gift shop in Montana, this one’s for you. Just make sure they’re clean and packed in a way that won’t poke the person sitting next to you. Live Lobsters and Fish? Yep, You Can Fly With Them This might be our favorite “wait…what?” of the list: TSA allows live lobsters in your carry-on. Not frozen. Not cooked. Alive. You just have to pack them in a clear, spill-proof plastic container and expect a visual inspection at the checkpoint. (Let’s be real — imagine being behind that person in line.) ©Amazon Also included under this rule? Live fish and live coral. And yes, they can even be transported in water. TSA just needs to see them clearly and verify that your container isn’t going to leak all over the X-ray machine. ©Amazon This might sound like a wild detail to even care about, but it actually comes up more than you’d think — especially if you’re flying out of places like New England where bringing home a live lobster is a whole thing, or if you’re coming home from a tropical vacation with a new aquarium buddy. Why Should Disney Travelers Care About This? Honestly, even if you’re not flying with lock picks, antlers, or aquatic pets, knowing these TSA quirks helps you rethink what else might be allowed. If TSA’s cool with literal crustaceans and deer antlers, then maybe you don’t need to panic as much about that awkward souvenir or unusual gift you’re packing. That personalized lightsaber? Good to go (just don’t try to duel with it on the plane). Your Droid? Yep — though he will need to go through screening just like you. Droid in Galaxy’s Edge We’ve seen people toss out perfectly fine items at airport security just because they didn’t know the rules. Don’t be that person. Check the TSA site or use their “What Can I Bring?” tool before you leave, especially if you’re packing anything even remotely out of the ordinary. So yeah — TSA rules can be surprising, confusing, and sometimes hilarious. But if they’re letting lobsters through, maybe we all just need to relax a little about our extra pair of shoes or oversized Mickey ears. Be sure to check back in with us soon at DFB for even more travel news, changes, and more. 18. Disneyland holds such a special place in our hearts! Disneyland! The original Disney theme park is turning 70 years old, bringing with it tons of new offerings and snacks to try! While it is fun to celebrate with new treats, we still love those park staples. Unfortunately, it looks like some of these staples are going to cost us more with tons of new price increases! Some of our Disneyland favorites are going to cost us a bit more on our next trip to Anaheim! Starting off in Disney California Adventure, San Fransokyo is taking on quite a few of the price increases. Cocina Cucamonga Mexican Grill‘s Horchata Agua Fresca is changing from $6.49 to $7.29. Horchata Agua Fresca Cool as a Cucumber Cocktail is going from $17 to $18, and the Classic Lime Margarita is changing from $15.5 to $17! 19. Big news coming from Southwest Airlines! Southwest! Southwest Airlines has finally added a new destination for the first time in forever. Well, maybe not forever, but the first time since 2021! Let’s take a look at the news in detail. Southwest Airlines is looking to grow its network in the upcoming year. In 2026, the airline will be getting new service at Cyril E. King International Airport (STT) on St. Thomas. That means the U.S. Virgin Islands will be added to the carrier’s tropical destinations in the Caribbean. Southwest Planes Bob Jordan, the President, Chief Executive Officer, and Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors at Southwest Airlines, stated, “We are listening closely to what our Customers want—from new products and loyalty benefits to new destinations.” He continued on saying, “We want to make Southwest Airlines the easy and obvious choice every time, and this is another meaningful step in our ongoing transformation.” Southwest at MCO Southwest Airlines isn’t stopping there, as St. Thomas is the first of THREE new destinations planned for 2026! The airline is planning on making more announcements this summer. ©Southwest Airlines It will be the ninth island destination in the Atlantic Basin offered by the airline. 21. So, here’s something we didn’t expect—Disney World fans are suddenly changing their minds about booking Disney Cruises. Disney Wish We know, right? For a long time, the vibe was that the parks were it — the ultimate Disney experience. But now? There’s a shift happening. New ships, bold themes, and even cruises sailing out of Singapore are making Disney adults stop and rethink everything they thought they knew about Disney vacations. Let’s talk about what’s changing minds — because there’s a lot to be excited about. The New Ships Are Just Cooler, Period Disney Cruise Line is expanding, and the new ships coming up aren’t just adding to the fleet—they’re shaking things up. Take the Disney Destiny, for example. She sets sail on November 20, 2025, and here’s the kicker: Yu don’t just hop on and head to the Caribbean. You pick a side — Heroes or Villains. ©Disney Cruise Line The entire theme of the ship is built around the “dynamic duality” in classic Disney stories. Disney Imagineers have designed this ship with the idea that every great tale has its light and dark, and now you get to step into that world — literally. It’s not just decor, it’s an immersive design where your stateroom, dining, and entertainment lean into the side you choose. That kind of storytelling? That’s not something you get with a castle selfie. With 360-degree lighting effects that fill the room with life and color, the Grand Hall of the Disney Destiny will react to the presence of some of the most legendary villains, rogues and mischief makers of Disney and Marvel lore. One such transformation will take place with the arrival of Loki, the fan-favorite character from Marvel Studios’ films and the “Loki” television series, who will create chaos throughout the voyage with grand proclamations, questionable storytelling, surprise competitions and more. (©Disney) Plus, the Destiny is sailing to Castaway Cay and Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point in The Bahamas. Four- and five-night cruises mean it’s not a massive time commitment, but you still get a fresh kind of Disney magic — no waiting for parades or hunting down a snack mobile app required. Find out MORE about the Disney Destiny HERE! Singapore Is Calling… and Disney Fans Are Answering Now, here’s something that would’ve sounded wild a few years ago: Disney Cruise Line is headed to Southeast Asia. The new Disney Adventure will launch out of Singapore on December 15th, 2025, and offer 3- and 4-night sailings. And while the idea of international travel might feel intimidating (especially when you’re used to the Orlando bubble), this is one of those rare situations where Disney actually makes it easier. ©Disney Because you know what to expect. You’ll get the familiar Disney-level food, service, and lodging. For some Disney fans, that’s the dream: stepping out of their comfort zone without fully leaving it behind. ©Disney So yeah, sailing in Singapore is a big step — but it’s one that comes with Mickey-shaped waffles and Disney trivia nights. Suddenly, a long-haul flight doesn’t sound so bad. Find out MORE about the Disney Adventure HERE! Disney Cruise Logistics Are Less Stressful Than the Parks Right Now Let’s be real: Planning a Disney World trip takes work. It’s spreadsheets, 7AM wake-up calls, and strategizing park passes and dining reservations like you’re training for the Olympics. Now compare that to a cruise. You book it. You show up. You eat what you want, when you want. Your entertainment is waiting for you — no Lightning Lane needed. Marceline Market on the Disney Wish Cruise Ship And there’s something to be said for sitting by a pool watching the ocean while a cast member hands you a Dole Whip. If you’ve ever stood in a two-hour line for Cosmic Rewind and thought, “There has to be an easier way,” well… this might be it. There’s Still Plenty of Disney Magic, But With a Side of Actual Relaxation A big reason Disney adults are making the switch? Cruises feel more like a vacation. You still get character meet-and-greets, Broadway-style shows, themed dining, and all the Mickey-shaped treats your heart desires — but without the five-miles-a-day foot pain. Tiana! And now that ships like the Wish, Treasure, Destiny, and Adventure are expanding what “Disney magic” even looks like, the cruise experience is hitting a new level. It’s not just nostalgia anymore. It’s adventure, story-driven theming, and curated fun for grown-ups too. ©Disney Cruise Line Let’s not forget that these ships have adult-only areas that actually feel like escapes. Quiet Cove pool, specialty dining at Palo or Remy, and lounges that are made for winding down, not hyping up. For longtime parkgoers, that’s a massive shift. Disney Cruise Line is basically saying, “We know you love Disney, but you also deserve a break.” So yeah, if you’re aiming for a specific ship, date, or room category, waiting will cost you — either in dollars or experience. We find that the BEST way to book a Disney cruise and know you’re getting the best deal available is to use a travel agent who specializes in Disney — we recommend Small World Vacations! You can grab a free quote from them right here! If you’re even kind of cruise-curious, now’s the time to start looking at what’s coming. Bookings are already open for the Disney Destiny, and the Disney Adventure is going to open up a whole new side of Disney travel. Whether you’re team Heroes or team Villains — or just team “I need a vacation that doesn’t involve a rope drop alarm” — Disney Cruise Line might just be your next best move. 22. Magic Kingdom is going through it right now. Cinderella Castle Big Thunder Mountain Railroad is closed until 2026, Tom Sawyer Island is closed forever, and the Disney Villains are currently plotting their takeover. With all of these changes, we’re on the hunt for construction changes in the park, and we’ve found them! Since Tom Sawyer Island, the Rivers of America, and the Liberty Belle all closed forever on July 7th, 2025, Magic Kingdom won’t be the same. Piston Peak, a Cars-inspired land, will be replacing these icons. While we are excited about this new land, we are not excited about the years and years of walls in our future. Unfortunately, the wall years have officially begun, but before we dive into that, we are excited to say that the Liberty Belle has been spotted! ©Bioreconstruct We have been dying to know what happened to the beloved steamboat, and @bioreconstruct has found her! The Liberty Belle is currently staged in the Magic Kingdom service canal. It’s located behind Big Thunder Mountain, and as sad as this makes us, we’re happy to see her resting after over 50 years of service. ©Bioreconstruct Now, back to the construction updates, our first thought was “walls…walls as far as the eye can see.” Starting in Liberty Square, the walls begin leading all the way up to the Haunted Mansion, cutting off part of the attraction’s queue. Walls near the Haunted Mansion The lines for the Haunted Mansion were sneaking past these walls, even stretching into Frontierland at one point in the day. The walls continued down into the Liberty Belle loading dock. So. Many. Walls. Once you get to the dock, there are walls and shrubbery to make it clear this area is formally closed off. Honestly, we really wish they had left this open and tossed some tables in the area for a bit of shade. Walls behind the loading dock As you continue into Frontierland, the walls go until you hit the boardwalk that takes you along the water. Then, you finally have a break where you can still see what the island currently looks like. The Frontierland cut off! In this open section, you can see the 9th wonder of the world! The back sideeee offffff walllssssss! (Get? A Jungle Cruise joke? Nevermind.) The back side of the walls! You can really see just how far the walls stretch across Liberty Square from this angle. We just aren’t fans Once you get into Frontierland, the walls begin again, starting on the bridge leading to Big Thunder Mountain. You can also see the back side of these walls while the boardwalk is open. Walls begin again! You can still see the drop from Tiana’s Bayou Adventure on the other side of the bridge, so no worries there! The other side of the wall! The walls continue down in front of Big Thunder Mountain, totally blocking the view of Tom Sawyer Island. In front of Big Thunder Mountain You can see the backside of these walls from afar to give you an idea of how far they stretch. They cover the docking area for Tom Sawyer Island and the exit area. A look from afar! While we aren’t personally thrilled that these walls are most likely here for the next few years, we are excited about Piston Peak! The new area will bring two brand new attractions, a new character, shopping, and more. Disney has given us some good insights into what to expect when the new area finally opens. Piston Peak ©Disney Disney hasn’t shared an opening timeline for the new area, so get ready for Wall Disney World to be around for a while. 23. EPCOT’s newest lounge is a total vibe — and honestly, we’re obsessed. GEO-82 GEO-82 Lounge has brought a whole new level of cool to World Celebration. It’s sleek, it’s calm, and the drinks are on a different level than most Disney World bars. But as much as we’re loving it, there are a few things that have us wishing it could just go that extra inch and be perfect. So let’s talk about the little issues that are kinda driving us nuts. Only Two Mocktails? We get that this is a cocktail lounge first, but we were hoping for more love for the non-drinkers out there. Right now, the mocktail section is…two drinks. That’s it. A Walk Through the Garden Mocktail And look, they’re not bad—but in a place that clearly put so much thought into its beverage menu, it’s disappointing to see the zero-proof options get such minimal attention. Manhattan in the Morning Mocktail at GEO-82 Whether you’re sober, pregnant, on a break, or just want something refreshing without the alcohol, you shouldn’t feel like an afterthought. Geo-82, give us more mocktail magic. You’ve clearly got the skills. No Walk-Ups Allowed If you’re used to grabbing a drink on a whim at Disney lounges, this part’s going to throw you: There’s no walk-up list for Geo-82. It’s reservations only. Check-in We’re not saying it has to be a free-for-all, but come on — most lounges at Disney at least offer a waitlist. Even if it’s a long one, the option’s there. And yeah, there’s a chance they might add one once the opening hype settles down, but for now, this setup makes it feel way more exclusive than it needs to be. The Prices Hurt We know — Disney drinks aren’t cheap. That’s not news. But something about Geo-82’s pricing still makes us wince. Featured Cocktails When you’re spending $20+ for a single cocktail, even a really good one, it better blow your mind. These drinks are creative and well-crafted, no doubt about it. But it’s a tough pill to swallow when you’re already shelling out hundreds just to be in the park. We’re not saying make it cheap — we’re just saying we felt that receipt a little too hard. Now We Expect This Level of Mixology Everywhere This is a weird problem, but we’re standing by it. The drinks at Geo-82 are really, really well done. Like, the kind of complex flavors and quality ingredients you’d expect at a trendy downtown cocktail bar. Crafting the cocktail That’s great—until you go to another Disney lounge and get something that tastes like it came from a pre-mix jug. Geo-82 has raised the bar, and now we want that everywhere. Sorry, not sorry. It’s So Chill, It’s Hard to Leave This place is a literal escape from the chaos of the park. It’s cool, quiet, and just the right amount of fancy. And honestly, that’s the problem—we didn’t want to leave. Brown Butter Old Fashioned Going from the calm, curated vibes of Geo-82 straight back into the heat, crowds, and sensory overload of EPCOT is jarring. It’s almost too good at what it does. You might find yourself wishing you could just stay there all day, which is a weird problem to have…but it’s real. Exclusive Disney Select Bourbon Flight We’re saying all this because we really like Geo-82. It’s one of the most stylish, well-designed lounges Disney has ever opened, and it’s bringing something new to the EPCOT experience. But we also know how close it is to being flawless — and we want that for it. So yeah, we’re rooting for you, Geo-82. We’re not mad. We’re just a little thirsty… for more mocktails, more flexibility, and maybe a tiny drop in drink prices. Make sure you stay tuned to the Disney Food Blog for the latest Disney news and more! 24. We are just ONE week away from the reopening of a popular EPCOT attraction! We have been waiting OVER a year for the updating of this ride, and the time has almost arrived for its reopening. EPCOT The attraction has been hosting previews for a few weeks now and has also been opening up in short, surprise spurts for other guests to experience the attraction. But it just one week, the attraction will be open to all guests! Test Track closed back in June 2024 for reimagining, and the new Test Track 3.0 is officially opening to all guests on July 22nd, 2025. Disney has already confirmed that there will be NO Virtual Queue when the ride reopens. There will be three ways to ride: standing in the standby line, reserving a window with Lightning Lane Multi Pass, or with Lightning Lane Premier Pass. Test Track With recent ride openings like Tiana’s Bayou Adventure and TRON Lightcycle / Run, Disney has utilized a Virtual Queue to help manage the demand for the attraction. However, Disney has decided not to use the Virtual Queue for Test Track. We anticipate that the attraction will likely have a long wait, but it seems as though Disney doesn’t anticipate the wait getting wild and crazy. Of course, we will be keeping a close eye on the attraction when it reopens and providing you with a full report. The new queue for Test Track We were able to preview the new Test Track 3.0 before it officially opens. The updated attraction includes a brand-new queue, new ride vehicles, and new on-ride scenes. The track itself has remained the same, but the scenery around the track has all been updated. The final scene on Test Track! Currently, Disney World Annual Passholders can also take advantage of opportunities to preview the ride by joining a virtual queue at 7 AM or 1 PM on select days. You can join the 7 AM queue if you have a park pass reservation to EPCOT and a valid Annual Pass. You can join the 1 PM queue without having to be in the park! Preview dates will take place on July 13th, 14th, 15th, 16th, 18th, and 19th. Annual Passholders can preview Test Track this week! If you are looking for help with planning your Disney World vacation, reach out to our friends at Small World Vacations! They have YEARS of experience planning Disney World vacations and can help take away the stress of planning your vacation. Their services are also completely FREE! Test Track officially opens for all EPCOT guests on July 22nd, 2025. We will be there to bring you full coverage of the opening! Stay tuned to DFB for all your Disney World news! FIRST LOOK!
