  1. When it comes to surviving Disney World, water is our number one priority! We need a good water bottle! Having a water bottle in Disney World might feel like a hassle to some, but it really is the number one way to survive the heat and keep trekking through your park day! While we have a large water bottle collection, there is one that stands above the rest! DISCLOSURE: This post may contain affiliate links, meaning when you click the links and make a purchase, we receive a commission. Simple Modern Water Bottle The Simple Modern! This water bottle is SO cute and offers a great subtle touch of Disney. It’s pretty large and functional. It doesn’t keep the water as cold as we would have liked, especially compared to the other brands we’re going to talk about. The water temperature would hold for a few hours, but if you’re looking for ice-cold water, it’s not going to do that for the entire day. It did make our trip easier, but it also might not fit into the side of every backpack. The lid! It didn’t sweat throughout the day, and the top was easy to use! It was spill-proof, which we appreciated, but it didn’t stand out to us as much as the others! Grab on Amazon Hydro Flask The Hydro Flask! Next up is the Hydro Flask! This one is a bit smaller compared to the ones we’re testing, so if you need something smaller, this might be your guy. The slim design makes it better for cup holders, backpacks, and more because it doesn’t take up as much space. Its top is easy to flip up and down and locks securely to keep it from spilling! The top! It held our water for over 6 hours, staying cold on the side of our bag while being exposed to the sun the entire time. It didn’t sweat, but the straw wasn’t working like we would have wanted it to. When you try to sip from it, we had a hard time sipping from a tilted angle. We were only able to get a full sip if our face was completely above the straw and not tilted like you might be more naturally inclined to do with a cup. Grab on Amazon Yeti Water Bottle Our Yeti! This water bottle gets a resounding YES from us! This one was pricier compared to the others, but it is so good. It’s vacuum insulated, so it kept our water cold for hours. It holds only 2 ounces more the the Hydro Flask, but the bulkier design helps keep the water colder when exposed to the sun directly outside of my bag. It also comes with a second straw as a replacement or to swap out between cleanings, which was nice, and it has a registered warranty with it. The top! The flip top is easy to maneuver and has an air flow valve to keep the water stream flowing through your sips. The handle is static and doesn’t flip down. That might bother someone who’s looking for a more flushed design. We really, really liked this one’s functionality. Grab on Amazon Owala We love our Owala water bottle! If you’ve been around, you’ve heard about our love of Owala water bottles! It’s totally a favorite brand that proves itself time and time again. It’s got a great design that comes in lots of different colors. It’s also got a soft close spout to it that locks with another layer to keep it spill-proof while you’re carrying it around and especially in your bag. It doesn’t sweat on the outside and keeps your drink cold along with your ice for several hours, even on some of the hottest days. The inside! There’s not a lot of fault we can find with these. Their size is slim but ideal to hold quite a lot without the extra bulk. They’re easy to take apart and clean for reuse, plus they’ve even stood up to even the hardest drops on the ground. Grab on Amazon Stanley Our Stanley! Our number one spot goes to the Stanley water bottle! We love everything about this one! The handle flips down on both sides for easy carrying, and the top has a very flush design to it. It’s slimmer like the Hydro Flask but hefty enough to really do what it says in keeping the water cold and even keeping ice in your drink for several hours. Stanley IceFlow We think our favorite feature is the lid to it — it completely comes apart so you can really dig into clean it. There’s nothing we would change about this water bottle, and that’s pretty impressive for us! Grab on Amazon There are so many amazing ways to stay hydrated in Disney World, but you can catch us with our Stanley and our Owala almost every day! Be sure to stay tuned to DFB for more Disney necessities and finds! 2. Did you know that there’s a new restaurant coming to the Disney World resort? Swan and Dolphin Bourbon Steak by Michael Mina is coming to the Walt Disney World Dolphin Hotel on July 26th, with a soft opening on the 24th and 25th, and we just got a sneak peek at some of the menu items that are coming to this steakhouse. Here are just a few of the options you can expect to grab at this new spot! Bourbon Steak by Michael Mina is a reimagined modern take on the quintessential American steakhouse featuring premium cuts of beef, seafood infused with global flavors, delicious signature desserts, as well as world-class beverage offerings. We got a sneak peek at some of the dishes that will be offered when the restaurant opens on July 26th, 2025. Keep in mind that these aren’t the actual sizes of the dish you will get, they are small samples. You won’t just be getting a quarter-sized piece of fish for $42, we promise! Let’s kick things off with some drinks! We got to try a few of the drinks, including Polite Company which is on the menu for $14. This is a non-alcoholic option that is made with Lyre’s Italian orange, lemon, passion fruit, and Fever Tree ginger beer. This drink is very citrusy and tastes kind of like an alcoholic fruit punch with a bit of froth to it. Polite Company We also tried the Hugo Spritz which is an alcoholic option. It costs $16 and is made with St. Germain elderflower, mint, cucumber, and prosecco. This drink was lighter and spritzy. It reminded us a bit of a Mojito as it had a lot of mint flavor in it. Hugo Spritz Next up was the Ring of Fire, which you can get for $16. It is made with Ilegal mezcal, Aperol, lime, pineapple, ginger, aleppo, and togarashi. You will have to like a smoky mezcal drink to like this one. It is smoke forward without being overwhelmingly smoky, but it still does have some fruity flavors to it. We also tasted a lot of the ginger and pineapple. Ring of Fire Now, let’s try some appetizers! We started off with the Bacon-Wrapped Scallops. This dish features Bing cherry, turnip, Marcona almond, and a madeira emulsion. This will cost $24. The scallop was cooked well and was wonderfully tender and buttery. The sweetness of the cherry balances wonderful with the almond flavor. It is wrapped in crispy bacon with a bit of chew to it, and we could eat these ALL day! Bacon-Wrapped Scallops We also got a chance to try Michael Mina’s Tuna Tartare. It is made with quail egg, pine nut, mint, Asian pear, garlic, trio of chili peppers, and habanero-sesame oil. It is on the menu for $24. While we enjoyed this appetizer, it wasn’t our favorite that we tried. It has a much milder flavor compared to the other dishes we tried. However, if you are a fan of tuna tartare, we think you would really enjoy this! Michael Mina’s Tuna Tartare Now, let’s get a sneak peek at some of the entrees. We got to try the Miso Broiled Seabass. It features baby squash, shishito pepper, and ginger dashi. You can get this for $42. We were also so impressed with this dish! The fish was buttery, and it had a thin layer of sweetness on it. It falls of the fork it was so tender. Another hit in our opinion! Miso Broiled Seabass Up next, was the Slow Roasted Prime Rib. This dish is limited availability and features a blue cheese popover, fresh horseradish, and black truffle au jus. It is on the menu for $58. We are on a roll so far, as the prime rib was also fantastic. The blue cheese popover and horseradish added a nice zing to this dish. The prime rib was cooked well; it was tender while still having a bit of a chew to it. We were licking our plates on this dish. Slow Roasted Prime Rib We also got to try a Grilled Mushroom with Bourbon Sauce; however, we didn’t spot this one on the menu just yet. You can grab Roasted Mushrooms with Garlic-Herb Butter as a side! The mushroom we tried was covered in bourbon sauce and the mushroom had a wonderful char on it. With the bourbon sauce on top, you don’t get a lot of the mushroom flavor, so it almost ends up tasting like a soft piece of steak. Grilled Mushroom with Bourbon Sauce Finally, for dessert, we got to try the Bourbon Steak Chocolate Bar. It is made with peanut butter crunch and chewy chocolate brownie. It is on the menu for $15. We finished our meal with a bang! This had a peanut butter center and was surrounded by chocolate. It was soft and creamy, and the perfect combination of peanut butter and chocolate. Bourbon Steak Chocolate Bar We’re looking forward to coming back and trying out even more of what this restaurant has to offer! We recommend making reservations sooner rather than later, because we’ve got a feeling this will be a pretty popular spot. More Recent Reviews! 3. Dining at Disney World can get complicated FAST. So where’s the best place to turn when you’re not looking to stay put for long? What if you’re looking for a walkable snack to take with you while you’re spending time in the ride lines? Don’t worry — we’ve got you covered! Thirsty River Bar and Trek Snacks We recently stopped by Thirsty River Bar & Trek Snacks at Disney’s Animal Kingdom to find out if a few of our old favorites still reign supreme here, and now we’re bringing you our FULL review. Is this little hole-in-the-wall snack and drink outpost worth a stop on your next visit? Find out here! Atmosphere Thirsty River Bar and Trek Snacks is a walk up bar and food counter that serves up drinks and snacks in a grab-and-go fashion for adventurous “trekkers” on their way to or from Expedition Everest in Animal Kingdom’s Asia. Thirsty River Bar & Trek Snacks Drinks include specialty cocktails and inventive mocktail creations. And the beer selection offers some fun finds like Tiger Beer Asian Lager, Victory Golden Monkey Draft, and even Kungaloosh Spiced Excursion Ale — a brew created especially for Animal Kingdom’s Nomad Lounge, which you can enjoy in to-go fashion here. Drinks to go The snacks you can grab here mostly feature park staples like popcorn and ice cream novelties. (Yes, you can even grab a Mickey Bar here with your drink!) Snack side But enough about the restaurant — what’s on the menu?! Menu Over at Thirsty River Bar you’ll find the window that serves the alcoholic drinks. In their offerings, you’ll find Specialty Cocktails, Beverages, Beer, and Wines… ©Disney …while at Trek Snacks you can pick up Snacks, Desserts… ©Disney …and other Beverages. ©Disney And now, onto the main event — the food! Eats Hold on tight because the first thing we knew we had to grab was a Mickey Pretzel with cheese for $7.99. This is your classic Mickey shaped salted pretzel served with a side of cheddar cheese sauce. Mickey Pretzel It’s a classic Disney World snack for a reason, and it’s not hard to see why. This salty pretzel is just the right amount of salt and chewy pretzel bread to keep your snack craving satisfied. Pretzel halves We’ll also never turn down an opportunity to pick up some cheese sauce to accompany our friendly snack. Cheddar Cheese It will be offered to you included with your Mickey Pretzel, and while you’re under no obligation to take it, we’ll always recommend you try it! It’s a perfect blend of savory flavors that will really get your tastebuds going. So delicious! The cheddar cheese sauce is the perfect way to level up your snacking experience but we’ve got to warn you that you might find yourself scrapping the bottom of the cheese cup to savor every bit! Drinks To drink, we picked up the Avalanche Frozen Blue Margarita for $15.50. This is made with Jose Cuervo Gold Tequila, Blue Curaçao, Ginger, Sweet-And-Sour and Lime Juice. Avalanche Frozen Blue Margarita This has been a favorite of ours for awhile and it’s not hard to see why! It’s a sweet yet salty blue margarita that has a hint of a blueberry taste to it. We opted for salt on the rim of this one and as it melted in the sun, the salt mixed with the drink and began to foam a bit at the top which aesthetically gave a satisfying fizzle. Salty and smooth It was a refreshing drink that has a sneaky lime tequilla aftertaste that will leave you wanting more! We also decided to pick up the Himalayan Ghost for $15.50. This is made with Snow Leopard Vodka, Guava and Minute Maid® Premium Lemonade. Himalayan Ghost This drink was great and tasted like a grown-up’s lemonade dream! The guava flavor mixed well with the Minute Maid Lemonade and blended beautifully with the vodka. Fruity It’s a little heavier though than the other drink we opted for during this review so if you’re looking for a drink that’s a bit more alcohol forward, this is definitely the drink we would suggest first! Nosh or Not This Disney World restaurant is a must-visit if… You’re looking for some of the BEST alcoholic drinks in Animal Kingdom! We consistently rave over these drinks and after trying them for yourself, you’ll find it’s easy to agree. You need a snack break somewhere that can appeal to everyone. Whether you’re looking for kids, the light snacker, mocktail drinker, or refreshing alcoholic beverage these connected restaurants truly are a one stop shop for snacks! You’re looking to stay around the back of the park for awhile. If you’re not looking to trek all the way back to the front of the park, this is the prime location to scope out for the most popular drinks and snacks. You should skip this Disney World spot if… You’re looking for more unique snacks. Admittedly, the snacks served here are some you can get almost anywhere around the park. If you’re looking for something more unique, you’ll probably be more satisfied stopping elsewhere. You’re looking for a break indoors. This entire connected restaurant is completely outdoors. If you’re looking for seating in the shade, AC, or ducking inside a building for a while, you won’t find it here. You want a satisfying meal over a snack. While they are restaurants, these are more grab and go style options. They’re not capable of serving full meals or heftier snack options which you’re more likely to find at a quick service or table service restaurant instead. Overall Overall, it’s a great restaurant that offers a little bit of something for almost everyone. In addition to the alcoholic drinks served at Thirsty River, you can also opt for some creative mocktails or pick up a familiar water or soda at the shared Trek Snacks. It’s real estate landing it in the heart of the Asia area of Animal Kingdom helps keep it a welcomed stop for those looking for the nearest drink and snack shop who aren’t looking to make a journey away from the area. Snack time! In the meantime, we’ll be on the lookout for more restaurant updates from Disney World and beyond. Make sure you stay tuned to the Disney Food Blog for the latest Disney news and more! 4. There is big restaurant news at Disney World right now, and I am ready to book a reservation and start reviewing some new menu items. Bourbon Steak Bourbon Steak, the newest restaurant to open at Disney, is set to open on July 26th, but they just dropped a huge surprise. On July 24th and 25th, Bourbon Steak will have a soft opening before its grand opening on the 26th. That means if you didn’t snag a reservation for the first few days, you can head down and try it for yourself. Look at the decorations! The restaurant is open from 5 PM to 11 PM, but please note that during the soft opening, the hours may differ slightly. During a soft opening, your dining experience may also be longer than usual as staff members become accustomed to new systems and chefs become familiar with the menu. Booths We got an early preview of the restaurant, and it’s gorgeous! The room is bright and welcoming, and we can’t wait to try the full menu. During our preview, one of our favorites was the Prime Rib, which was covered in blue cheese and au jus. It had a zing from the blue cheese and horseradish, but it wasn’t too thick, and the ribeye felt like it was melting in your mouth! Our samples Bourbon Steak officially opens on July 26, and reservations can be made on OpenTable. It’s located in the Swan and Dolphin Resort, where Shula’s Steakhouse used to be. If you’re already staying at the resort, it might be worth checking out the restaurant tonight and tomorrow. It can also be a great dinner option for those in the EPCOT resort area or EPCOT itself. 7. A NEW restaurant is opening in Disney World in just a few short days! Bourbon Steak by Michael Mina is coming to the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Resort on July 26th, 2025. ©Walt Disney World Dolphin Bourbon Steak will offer a reimagined modern take on the quintessential American steakhouse. We were lucky enough to get a sneak peek at this new restaurant before it officially opens to the public, and we’re bringing you our FULL thoughts! Chef Michael Mina is a renowned chef who owns more than 40 restaurants worldwide. He has multiple Michelin stars and currently has other restaurants in Florida, including Bourbon Steak in Aventura and Prime 54 in Miami Beach. We’re excited to see what Chef Mina is bringing to Orlando! Bourbon Steak This restaurant replaced Shula’s Steak House at the Swan and Dolphin. We’re pleased to note that there was a 100% retention rate among staff who were at Shula’s and have now moved over to Bourbon Steak. We’re ready to go in! Reservations for Bourbon Steak by Michael Mina are available on OpenTable.com for dates starting July 26th, 2025. This restaurant was themed initially to the 1972 Miami Dolphins “Perfect Season.” Look at the decorations! The booths look incredibly comfortable, and we love the dark teal accents throughout the room. We thought it felt brighter and more welcoming compared to the original, darker lighting. Booths Look at this gorgeous presentation board, too. We can’t wait to see all the steaks delivered on this. Bourbon Steak board We can’t WAIT until Bourbon Steak officially opens its doors. 9. Anyone else here an avid Target shopper? Target Whether we’re shopping online for a new outfit or strolling the aisles aimlessly while adding home goods to our shopping carts, we’ve spent quite a few hours shopping Target’s merchandise. But now, Target might be losing a few fans due to a new policy change. CNN reports that Target is making a change to its price match guarantee. The retailer is now updating its price match policy to remove Amazon and Walmart as competitive locations. Let’s go shopping! Previously, the policy noted that if a customer purchased an item and then found the product cheaper at Walmart, Amazon, or another Target location within 14 days, then the customer would be able to receive a refund. Now, the policy will be updated starting July 28th, and it will no longer include Amazon and Walmart price matching. Target Book Section Now, the refund option will only be valid if a customer finds an item at a different Target location or on the Target website for cheaper. Target has offered the current price match guarantee since 2013, although Amazon has never had something similar, and Walmart ended its program in 2019. Target This could be related to Target’s rough financial results last quarter, when the company reported a drop in sales. We’ll be interested to see how this policy change affects their business going forward. Stay tuned to DFB for more updates. Click Here to Check Out the New Disney-Themed Collection at Target! 13. A Ripley’s-themed miniature golf course is planned for Icon Park on Orlando’s International Drive. The course — named Ripley’s Crazy Golf — will be an indoor, glow-in-the-dark experience with “surprising sights that make each hole feel like its own otherworldly adventure,” a Ripley news release says. “We’ve taken everything people love about our attractions, imagination and oddities, and brought it to the putting green. It’s outrageous. It’s unpredictable. It’s crazy in the best way possible!” Jim Pattison Jr., president of Ripley’s Believe It or Not! World Entertainment, said in the release. The mini-golf course will be located next door to the Museum of Illusions at Icon Park, and it’s expected to open in the winter of 2025. There’s currently a Ripley’s Crazy Golf attraction operating in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Tickets cost $18.99 at that location, and there are bundled-ticket offers for nearby Ripley attractions. Ripley already has two attractions open on I-Drive, a Believe It or Not Museum (the building that looks like it’s going into a sinkhole) and the neighboring Mirror Maze attraction. They are less than a block from the future mini-golf course. Orlando is also home to the corporate headquarters of Ripley Entertainment, which has more than 100 attractions worldwide. 14. There’s a sneaky little perk buried in your Disney vacation package that most people totally miss. Disney’s BoardWalk If you’re in the process of booking a 2025 Walt Disney World Resort vacation package, you might already know about the basics—hotel, tickets, park days, all that good stuff. But what you might not know is that Disney tosses in something called “Magical Extras.” And buried in those extras? Legit restaurant discounts you’ll actually want to use—at two of our FAVORITE spots in all of Disney World. Let’s break it down so you don’t miss this easy win. Wait… What’s a Magical Extra? When you book a Walt Disney World vacation package through the Walt Disney Travel Company, they bundle in some bonus perks. They call them “Magical Extras.” Sounds like a throwaway, but here’s the thing—they’re not. They include actual discounts at restaurants, shops, and even entertainment. We’re talking real savings on real food at places we’d actually recommend. ©Disney Now, not every Magical Extra is earth-shattering. But some of them are absolutely worth paying attention to—especially if you’re looking to splurge without the guilt. Here are two of the biggest winners: The BOATHOUSE at Disney Springs Yes. This one. The BOATHOUSE is one of those places we keep coming back to, and not just for the food. It’s a total vibe—waterfront dining, dream boats bobbing in the dock, even those vintage amphicars floating by while you sip your cocktail. It’s upscale without being stuffy, and the menu is solid across the board. Fresh seafood, killer steak, truffle fries—just trust us on this one. The BOATHOUSE Now here’s where the Magical Extra comes in: you can score 10% off your food at The BOATHOUSE when you show your Magical Extras Savings Card (you’ll get this with your vacation package materials). This is not one of those “off-menu, only-if-you-order-a-steak-at-2PM-on-a-Wednesday” deals. It’s 10% off food, full stop. Just be at Disney Springs, show the card, and boom—discount. A couple things to note: It’s food only (drinks not included). You do need to book a vacation package to qualify, so keep that in mind if you’re just buying tickets à la carte. The BOATHOUSE If you were planning to go to The BOATHOUSE anyway—and we think you should—this is basically free money. The Cake Bake Shop Restaurant at Disney’s BoardWalk If you haven’t heard of The Cake Bake Shop yet, that’s okay. It’s one of the newer additions to Disney’s dining lineup, but we’re already big fans. The Cake Bake Shop Imagine a French bakery met a storybook tea party and decided to throw a Pinterest-worthy lunch. That’s the vibe here—think shimmering chandeliers, pastel everything, and one of the most photogenic dessert cases on property. We wish we could get them all But don’t be fooled by the dainty décor—this place doesn’t play when it comes to flavor. The lunch menu has hearty options like quiches, sandwiches, and salads (and yes, cake… lots of cake). Plus, it’s one of the few places where you can book afternoon tea in an actual sit-down setting. It’s fancy, but still approachable. Caprese Sandwich Here’s the deal: You get 10% off your lunch OR one bakery item between noon and 4 PM with your Magical Extras card. Couple caveats to remember: Discount doesn’t apply to alcohol, merch, or private events. You can’t double dip (it’s either lunch or one bakery item). Timing matters—this discount is only good from 12PM to 4PM. Millionaire Sundae So if you were already planning a BoardWalk day or looking for a chill lunch outside the parks, this is an easy win. So, Is It Worth It? Look, these aren’t jaw-dropping, 50%-off-your-entire-meal deals. But they’re still smart ways to shave a little off your Disney dining bill—especially at restaurants that are actually good. If you’re booking a vacation package anyway, there’s no reason not to use these. Ten percent might not sound like a ton, but it adds up—especially at places where a single entrée can run $40+. And at Disney prices? Every little bit counts. For all kinds of Disney World restaurant news, tips, reviews, and more, stay tuned right here at DFB! 15. Reach out and find your Happily Ever After! Happily Ever After Is the best fireworks show to ever grace Magic Kingdom stuck in your head now? Perfect, because I know it’s stuck in my head. If going to watch Happily Ever After is on your Disney World itinerary, read this before heading to the castle. On Sunday, August 31st, Happily Ever After is changing its time. It’s usually at 10 PM, but will be at 9:30 PM on August 31st. Happily Ever After in Magic Kingdom The times for Disney Starlight: Dream the Night Away, the new nighttime parade that recently debuted at Magic Kingdom, have not yet been posted. However, the parade typically runs at 9 PM and 11 PM, so we’ll be monitoring the times to see how they’re affected on August 31st. Disney Starlight The park hours will be from 9 AM to 10 PM, so it will close a little bit earlier than usual. Keep this in mind if you’re planning a Magic Kingdom day. Magic Kingdom On Monday, September 15th, the Happily Ever After show times are also being adjusted. The fireworks will start at 9 PM on that Monday, and, as Disney Starlight times are not currently available, we are unsure of the show’s exact start time. SO many fireworks Starting around September 1st, Magic Kingdom park hours will usually be from 9 AM to 10 PM, as they are on September 15th. Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party is also taking place from August 15th to October 31st, so keep in mind that during those party nights, the park will close early around 6 PM to accommodate the specialty ticketed event. Boo-To-You Parade Disney Starlight and Happily Ever After will also not be running during party nights for both Mickey’s Not-So-Scary and Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party, so if you want the iconic firework moment, make sure you’re planning on your Magic Kingdom day to be different than a party night. 18. The Muppets takeover of the Rock ’n’ Roller Coaster has proved controversial amongst some Disney fans, but the truth is it may be one of the best things to happen to the Muppets in years! ©Disney When Disney surprisingly announced that the Muppets would be bumping Aerosmith from the coaster last year, fan reaction was somewhat conflicted, with many pointing out that it was awkward for the kid-friendly Muppets to be tied to a thrill ride, and even questioning how they could thematically fit in the park’s Sunset Boulevard area. While there is arguably some merit to these complaints, we’d argue that the potential good greatly outweighs them. Keeps the Muppets in Hollywood Studios First and foremost, the Muppet takeover of the Rock ’n’ Roller Coaster keeps the Muppets in Hollywood Studios. With the removal of Muppet*Vision 3D, PizzeRizzo, and the entirety of the former Muppet Courtyard, there was a chance that the characters – who have been an integral part of the park since its earliest days as the Disney/MGM Studios – could have been gone from the park for good. Relatedly… Can we just move all of this over to the Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster area? Larger Presence? During the park’s early years, The Muppets were a major part of Hollywood Studios. The characters were central to advertising campaigns, and Muppet merchandise was available throughout the park, including at a dedicated Muppet store near the Muppet*Vision exit. The former Stage 1 Company Store However, in recent years, that store has been closed and what was once a bountiful amount of merchandise and advertising had slowed to a trickle. However, with the Muppets being front and center on one of the park’s premier attractions, they’ll likely be in the top tier of Hollywood Studios characters once again. How CUTE is this?! We may see a lot more like this SOON! Younger Fans Speaking of that premier attraction, while the “appropriateness” of the Muppets being used for a thrilling coaster has been questioned, there’s no denying that the attraction appeals to a younger demographic that may be unfamiliar with the characters, and could potentially come away very interested in Kermit and Co. Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Maybe More Muppets? If the Muppets’ takeover of the Rock ’n’ Roller Coaster is successful and well-received, there’s a strong chance it could lead to a larger presence at the park, potentially with concepts like a Muppet restaurant or even the hoped-for-by-many return of Muppet*Vision 3D maybe being back on the table. Muppet*Vision 3D The Muppet takeover of the Rock ’n’ Roller Coaster might be leading to a NEW golden age of Muppet offerings at Hollywood Studios. Stay tuned to DFB for more thoughts on Disney World’s evolution. “You Could Fit So Many Muppets in That Theater.” Disney Fans React to NEW Villains Show in Hollywood Studios Join the DFB Newsletter to get all the breaking news right in your inbox! 22. I hate to be the one to break this to you, but if your favorite place to head to in Hollywood Studios is an indoor show where kids get to run around with their favorite Disney Jr. characters, you might have missed your chance. Disney is working on a new transformation in Hollywood Studios, but did they just close an attraction without giving guests one last chance to see it? Disney Jr. Play and Dance! closed on May 27th to welcome the temporary Get Animated! dance party for Cool Kid Summer, which was originally supposed to run till September 1st, 2025. Changes are coming! Get Animated! is a DJ-led dance party that takes place throughout the day. You can hang out and dance with characters like Timone, Vampirina, Pluto, Fancy Nancy, and Mickey from Roadster Racers. Get Animated! Now, Get Animated! is being extended till September 24th, before the building is permanently closed on September 25th. Disney Jr. Play and Dance! doesn’t seem to be reopening…ever! Get Animated! If you haven’t heard the news about Hollywood Studios, all of Animation Courtyard is being changed to The Magic of Disney Animation. This new space will let guests learn more about Disney animation with drawing classes, different animation departments represented, and an indoor playground (and I’m really looking forward to that indoor playground). ©Disney Get Animated! and Star Wars: Launch Bay will close on September 25th to make room for new experiences coming in 2026. However, don’t worry, The Little Mermaid — A Musical Adventure will remain open during the construction process. The Little Mermaid — A Musical Adventure Did you want to catch Disney Jr. Play and Dance! one more time? Right now, it doesn’t look like you’ll have a chance. The attraction is closing without giving guests one last chance to explore it. ©Disney In “The Magic of Disney Animation,” a new Disney Jr. show is set to debut, and although Disney has not released any details yet, I’m excited to see which characters will be returning. The space will also be home to numerous meet-and-greets, allowing for even more characters to join the lineup. It’s always a sad day when a Disney attraction permemently closes but the promise of new experiences are on the horizon. Make sure you keep following Disney Food Blog for more! 23. Skyliner fans, you’re gonna want to hear this. Skyliner If you’ve ever relied on Disney’s Skyliner to float you between resorts and parks with ease, you know just how much of a game-changer it can be. But there’s a rare hiccup in the system that pops up on specific nights — and if you’re staying at Disney’s Riviera Resort, it could totally throw off your plans. This isn’t something most people know about, so let’s break it all down before it catches you off guard. The Route Change Most Guests Don’t Know Exists Most nights, the Disney Skyliner works like clockwork. It starts running one hour before Early Theme Park Entry for EPCOT or Hollywood Studios and keeps going until 90 minutes after those parks close. That gives you plenty of time to wrap up your night, grab a snack, take some photos, and glide back to your resort without a rush. Skyliner at Riviera But there’s one exception that can really mess with your expectations — and your return trip. On nights when EPCOT hosts Extended Evening Hours, the Skyliner closes one hour after those hours end. That alone might not seem like a huge deal…until you find out how the route changes during that window. Here’s the curveball: The Skyliner will ONLY offer service between EPCOT and Disney’s Riviera Resort during that time. Riding the Skyliner with the Riviera in view That means the main Skyliner hub at Caribbean Beach, plus the lines to Pop Century and Art of Animation, will be completely offline. So if you were planning to take the Skyliner back to your resort after Extended Evening Hours and you’re not staying at Riviera? You’re out of luck. You’ll need to use alternate transportation — and let’s just say the bus lines at EPCOT around that time are not for the faint of heart. Why This Matters if You’re at Riviera Resort Here’s the silver lining: if you’re staying at the Riviera, this rare change actually works in your favor. Disney’s Riviera Resort You’ll still be able to hop on a gondola and glide back to your room from EPCOT even after Extended Evening Hours end. But if you’ve got dinner plans at Caribbean Beach or a late-night craving for a bite at Pop Century, you won’t be able to get there by Skyliner. You’ll have to walk, bus, or find another route altogether. Skyliner Again, this limited service only works in one direction — from EPCOT to Riviera. So don’t try to hop on at Riviera hoping to ride to Caribbean Beach or over to Hollywood Studios. That part of the route will be closed. If you’re someone who likes to resort-hop or you’ve booked dinner somewhere off the Riviera line, you’ll want to plan accordingly on these nights. Wait, When Are Extended Evening Hours Again? Good question — Extended Evening Hours aren’t every night and are typically reserved for Deluxe Resort guests. They’re also usually posted a month or two in advance, so you’ll want to check the official park calendar when planning your trip. Extended Evening Hours sign Sometimes you’ll see them falling on Mondays or Wednesdays, but it varies by season and crowd levels. If you see Extended Evening Hours on the EPCOT schedule during your stay, go ahead and expect this Skyliner route change to be in effect that night. Bonus Tip: Skyliner Refurbishment Is Back in 2026 Speaking of planning ahead — the annual Skyliner refurbishment is coming back in 2026. After skipping the usual January downtime in 2025, Disney has announced that the Skyliner will be closed January 25th through 31st in 2026 for scheduled maintenance. The Skyliner closes temporarily in January All lines will be fully shut down during those dates — that means no access between EPCOT, Hollywood Studios, and any of the connected resorts. Disney will offer complimentary bus transportation to cover the gap, but those buses tend to get way more crowded without the Skyliner running. Alternative transportation options If you’re staying at Art of Animation, Pop Century, Caribbean Beach, or Riviera Resort because of the Skyliner convenience, you might want to consider rebooking to a resort that has alternate options like the Monorail or boat service — or even one where you can walk to EPCOT. Skyliner closed And if you’re sticking with your current plans, just build in extra travel time, especially in the mornings. With all those extra guests on the buses, wait times will stretch. Bottom Line If you’re staying at Disney’s Riviera Resort and plan to take advantage of EPCOT’s Extended Evening Hours, the Skyliner will only be running between EPCOT and Riviera — no other stops. That can be super convenient if you’re heading back to your room, but a surprise headache if you’re trying to get anywhere else. Make sure to bookmark those Extended Evening dates, make a backup transportation plan just in case, and always check posted hours before you count on a Skyliner ride. 24. “Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer” will be the theme of the upcoming carved-ice display and holiday festivities at Gaylord Palms Resort. Expect very shiny noses, secret slides and a larger-than-life Bumble for the 2025 edition. It’s the first appearance by Rudolph at the Kissimmee resort’s annual event known as “ICE!” although the theme has been used at others within its hotel chain. But it will have a new look and an emphasis on photo-ready moments. “We completely redesigned the entire attraction,” said Niko Nickolau, entertainment director of Gaylord Hotels. “This year is we really, kind of dove into this new design with interactive photo spots that are carved by the ice sculptors, really allowing the guests to become part of the scene.” That will include a pop-up space that will let visitors appear between Rudolph and Yukon Cornelius, the Arctic prospector from the 1964 television special. They’ll also be able to pose within the hand of Bumble, the abominable snow monster, and get into a icy bin from the Island of Misfit Toys. Other characters amid the ice: Hermey the Elf, Clairce and Santa Claus. “‘Rudolph’ is iconic. I mean, you look at the top 10 Christmas movies, you can’t get through No. 3, without saying, ‘Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer,'” Nickolau said. The popular slide room of “ICE!” returns, along with a secret slide, an element that was introduced last year when the theme was “Elf.” The Island of Misfit Toys is incorporated into the 'ICE!' event. (Gaylord Hotels)“We want it to be very tactical. We want it to be very experiential. So when you go through with your kids, those 30 minutes are really great, high-quality, memory-making family time,” Nickolau said. The core of “Ice!” continues to have its traditional elements: 2 million pounds of ice, hand-carved by 40 artisans from Harbin, China, for 40 days. Visitors walk through the 20,000 square feet of display space in parkas to ward off the chilly air, said to be set at 9 degrees. LED lighting and coloring help create the effects. Although the start of the event is four months away, ice blocks are already being prepared for the event at facilities in Dallas and Atlanta. Gaylord Palms visitors will be able to get close to Bumble, have a photographic moment. (Gaylord Hotels)Gaylord Palms’ holiday programming also includes the Naughty or Nice Escape Room, Snow Factory (inner tubes on ice plus snowball building), Reindeer Games Scavenger Hunt, story time with Mrs. Claus, Elf Training Academy, atrium light show titled “Here We Glow A-Caroling,” “The Greatest Story” musical, a holiday gift shop and the new Jack Frost Chocolate Factory, where visitors make a pair of chocolate snowflake treats. Also news this year is a stage show called “Pomp, Snow & Cirqueumstance,” which is produced in the Gaylord Palms atrium. It includes acrobats, magicians, aerial acts and more characters. “It’s a lot of fun,” Nickolau said. “It has music, magic and cirque.” “ICE!” runs from Nov. 14 through Jan. 7.
