  1. After decades of Disney travel and dozens of resort stays, we finally joined Disney Vacation Club. Here’s what changed—and why it finally made sense for our family. For years, we told ourselves Disney Vacation Club just wasn’t for us. We’re seasoned Disney travelers. 2. Recently, we got a chance to travel to Hong Kong Disneyland to celebrate their 20th Anniversary, and we got the opportunity to try SO many fun snacks, drinks, and entertainment opportunities that we can’t get over in the United States. Disney Friends Live at the Castle at Hong Kong Disneyland Hong Kong Disneyland is similar to the United States parks in a way that you CAN find Starbucks in the park, which is fantastic if you want something a little more familiar. However, we tried two drinks that we need to see IMMEDIATELY in the States, and we think we’ll throw a fit soon if we don’t! Chocolate and Orange is a flavor combination we see very often in the United States, especially closer to the holidays, so we’re petitioning for Disney World and Disneyland (and honestly, every Starbucks menu, if we’re really being honest) to bring the Orange Mocha Latte to the menu ASAP! Orange Mocha Latte This tastes just like those chocolate oranges you grab during the holiday season, and we thought it was a great crowd pleaser. It was basic in the best way, and anyone who enjoys that blend of chocolate and citrus will likely adore it. However, the drink that REALLY shocked us and we’ve been craving ever since was the Yuzu Cold Brew! Yuzu Cold Brew This was so unique, and it won’t be for everyone, but for us? It hit the spot on the immensely hot day we spent in the park. We thought Starbucks was going to use yuzu syrup, but instead, it was like a yuzu slush, almost like a frozen lemonade. It was floating in the cold brew in place of ice, and it gave the drink a delicious acidic (but not sour!) taste that was so refreshing. You wouldn’t think lemon would go well with coffee, but in this case, the bitter and citrus acidic tastes were fantastic together. More Recent Starbucks News! 4. Looking to save on Disney World hotels? Yeah, it just got real. Chip at Disney’s Riviera Resort We just spotted a handful of Priceline deals on Disney World resorts that can take a chunk off your total stay in early September. If you’re planning a trip right after Labor Day, this could be the discount that makes your dream stay a little more doable. Disney’s BoardWalk Inn – $203 Off Let’s start with the biggest dollar savings. If you’ve had your eye on BoardWalk Inn, this deal takes off over 200 bucks. It’s a deluxe resort with walking access to both EPCOT and Hollywood Studios, which honestly makes it feel like a cheat code. ©Priceline We found these rates for September 5th-8th, and you’ll save enough for a dinner at Trattoria al Forno or Flying Fish! Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa – $158 Off If you’re looking for luxury, this one’s a classic. The Grand Floridian is the most iconic of all Disney World resorts, and while it usually comes with a price tag to match, this deal brings it down just a bit. You’re still paying over $2,100 total for three nights, but hey — every bit helps. ©Priceline I would spend these savings on Beauty and the Beast-themed drinks and a charcuterie board at Enchanted Rose Lounge! Disney’s Contemporary Resort – $124 Off (6.8% Savings) Staying at the Contemporary means walking to Magic Kingdom. That alone makes this deal worth considering. The price after discount comes to $1,696 for three nights — not exactly cheap, but getting that close to Cinderella Castle usually costs more. ©Priceline With this deal, you’ll save enough to get Lightning Lane Multi Pass for a couple days of your trip! Disney’s Beach Club Resort – $119 Off (6.8% Savings) Want that Yacht Club vibe but with a beachy twist? Beach Club Resort is a fan favorite for good reason. This deal cuts the price to $1,622 for the stay and gives you full access to one of the best resort pools on property. ©Priceline This savings can buy your party of four Lightning Lane Single Passes for Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind! Disney’s Yacht Club Resort – $119 Off (6.8% Savings) Right next door, Yacht Club comes in at the same discounted total. It’s a little more polished and grown-up feeling than Beach Club, but the vibe is still relaxed. Same pool, same walking path to EPCOT. ©Priceline I recommend you use this savings for breakfast at Ale and Compass — it’s one of the best breakfasts in Disney World! Disney’s Art of Animation Resort – $119 Off If you’re looking for something more budget-friendly (but still fully Disney), Art of Animation is it. With family suites themed to Cars, Finding Nemo, The Lion King, and The Little Mermaid, this is a solid choice for families. Three nights now comes to $1,635. ©Priceline Disney’s Old Key West Resort – $129 Off Old Key West doesn’t always get the spotlight, but it has big rooms and laid-back vibes. This discount brings the three-night total to $1,761. If you like having space to breathe, this one should be on your radar. ©Priceline Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa – $109 Off Saratoga is right near Disney Springs, so if shopping and dining are on your must-do list, this is a win. Three nights will run you $1,486 after the discount. ©Priceline Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge – $97 Off Yes, you can wake up to giraffes outside your balcony. Animal Kingdom Lodge still feels like one of the most immersive resorts on property. With this Priceline deal, the total drops to $1,381. Not bad for a literal savanna view. ©Priceline Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort – $36 Off If you want Skyliner access but don’t want to spend deluxe-level money, Caribbean Beach is worth a look. The discount is smaller here, but you’ll still save a bit. Total: $900. ©Priceline Disney’s Port Orleans Resort – French Quarter – $48 Off This resort is cozy, charming, and usually flies under the radar. It’s also one of the smallest moderate resorts, which means fewer crowds and a more relaxed pace. Three nights will cost $967 after the discount. ©Priceline Disney’s Port Orleans Resort – Riverside – $31 Off Riverside has the same New Orleans vibe but with a little more spread-out layout. Not a huge discount, but still a nice perk if this resort’s on your list. Final price: $820. ©Priceline Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort – $19 Off This one’s the lowest percentage off, but Coronado still has a lot going for it. It’s got a more adult feel compared to some other resorts. Three nights will run you $715. ©Priceline To be clear: These are Priceline deals, and they may not stick around for long. Prices can shift or disappear completely depending on availability, so if one of these resorts has been sitting on your Disney bucket list, now’s a smart time to check it out. Don’t miss out on Priceline’s exclusive savings on Disney World hotel rooms from July 8th through July 11th. Stay tuned to DFB for all your Disney World news and discounts! 8. Head’s up, if you’re planning on flying for your next vacation, you could have accidentally packed a few BANNED items in your luggage! MCO Airport Security Between planning your flight and navigating your way around the airport, you’re already feeling exhausted, but delaying your time going through the security line just to get to your gate could make you your own worst enemy. TSA has made several changes recently, and we’re giving you the scoop on a few popular items you’ve thought to bring along that are actually BANNED from flying. We get it — you’re packing “all the things” in preparation for a vacation away from home. Making sure you have everything accounted for before, during, and after your actual vacation is essential to your success (and probably your sanity, if we’re being totally honest). However, you’ll want to be careful of what you’re packing, even with seemingly innocuous items, because it could be the very thing that causes some trouble for you when going through airport security. Welcome to the Orlando International Airport TSA’s list of banned items isn’t something you’ve probably thought to browse regularly, so we’re giving you a heads up on a few things you’ll want to be sure to leave behind before you travel! 1. Loose Lithium Batteries Loose spare lithium batteries like the ones you might use for cameras, drones, and even the most seemingly small items could get you in trouble if you’re not packing them correctly. You won’t be able to pack these in your checked luggage; however, you CAN carry them on the plane with you in your carry-on bag! Phone Charger! Even though they’re allowed to be carried in a carry-on bag, you’ll still want to be certain they’re stored safely to prevent short-circuiting. This is extremely important to keep in mind if you’re planning on traveling with your cameras, equipment, and small devices like rechargeable battery packs, and need to store your extra batteries (especially for photography). 2. Replica Weapons and Toy Guns Trying to travel with a few pranks or toy weapons? I wouldn’t. TSA’s strict policy for anything that even remotely looks like a weapon, even if it’s a toy, could land you in hot water quickly. That’s right — toy guns, prop weapons, and even bubble guns are banned from being stowed away in your carry-on luggage. Pirates of the Caribbean Bubble Sword This is especially important to keep in mind for families of little pirates or action stars (in their own imaginations) traveling to theme parks or traveling during holidays, where gifts are often exchanged. Just remember, these items can easily get confiscated during TSA security screenings, so you might want to think twice before you let the kids pick out that toy sword souvenir if you’re flying. 3. Alcohol Over 140 Proof Alcohol in carry-on bags is allowed to be brought on the plane with you if the bottle is under 3.4 ounces, but there’s another part of the label you’ll need to check! Don’t forget to check the label on those bottles! The lesser-known fact about these alcohol bottles is that anything over 140 proof is completely banned by TSA. This includes high-proof spirits like grain alcohol and some strong rums. TSA has forbidden these higher proof liquids due to flammability potential, and they’re completely banned from your luggage — not even putting them in your checked baggage will save them. If you’re going to be flying home after your vacation (especially if you’re cruising and planning on picking up a few foreign spirits), be sure to check each bottle carefully before you make your purchases. 4. Smart Luggage with Non-Removable Batteries Smart luggage can be a huge convenience when traveling, especially if you’re toting around a suitcase with built-in USB ports and tracking features. But just like we touched on earlier, if the lithium battery can’t be removed, TSA won’t allow it through security or even onto the plane. Orlando Airport Airlines have also been instructed not to accept them into checked luggage for safety reasons. Always be sure you can remove these batteries (and store them safely in your carry-on bag) before you fly with smart bags. 5. Wrapped Gifts TSA has no issue (for the most part) with you toting your gifts while flying. However, it will become an issue if you decide to wrap the gifts you’re packing before you board your flight! They might get thrown to the Jungle Cruise residents Technically, TSA DOES allow you to bring gifts through security; however, don’t be surprised when you go to check your wrapped presents only to find they’ve been unwrapped. TSA agents have the authority to unwrap gifts if the contents need further screening. It’s a common occurrence to watch someone at the security screening seething in annoyance when their carefully wrapped gift is opened on the spot. As an alternative, we suggest using gift bags for your gifts or wrapping them once you’ve reached your destination. 6. Certain Foods If you’re planning on packing snacks for your trip, you’ll want to pay close attention to TSA’s rules! You won’t be taking your EPCOT festival soup back with you so easily More often than not, TSA treats food items like liquids. Remember, spreadable foods like peanut butter, hummus, and dips over 3.4 ounces aren’t allowed in carry-ons. The same goes for canned foods with liquid in them, like you’d expect to find in a can of soup or stew. It’s easy to assume food you’re packing with you is safe, but just remember, if it can be spread or poured, it probably needs to go in checked baggage. But, don’t worry — those Mickey-shaped snacks are our favorite solution for a quick snack! We’re always keeping up with the latest travel news and trends! 9. With a brand new spectacular lighting up the night at the Magic Kingdom, many guests have begun asking when another iconic aspect of the Magic Kingdom after dark could return. Cinderella Castle Dream Lights 2018 In July 2025, Disney premiered Starlight at the Magic Kingdom. The new parade, which Disney calls a “dazzling nighttime parade that celebrates magical moments from Disney stories—each touched by starlight” is the first presentation of its kind at the Magic Kingdom in just about a decade, carrying on the legacy of The Main Street Electrical Parade and Spectromagic!. Some guests are hoping that the new infusion of nightlife at the Magic Kingdom – which will continue through the Holidays – could lead to another beloved nighttime element of the park returning, no matter how unlikely. From 2013 through 2019, the Dream Lights lit up the Magic Kingdom during the Holiday Season. Thousands of light were strewn across Cinderella Castle, bathing the structure in a welcoming icy glow that, ironically, warmed the hearts of many. I saw the Dreamlights in person on one of my visits to the Walt Disney World Resort, and can personally attest to how moving they could be. During the 2013 season, the lights were ceremoniously lit each night with a show that starred Mickey, Minnie, and friends. The following year, the show was changed to one revolving around Queen Elsa from Frozen. The lights remained a major part of the park’s Holiday Season offerings through 2019. They did not return in 2020 during the height of the COVID Pandemic. However, the lights were also absent after most other elements of the resort’s Christmas offerings returned in 2021. We miss these lights! Why? Well, there are likely two intertwined reasons: Projections and Money. First off, in recent years, the majority of Disney nighttime shows now heavily involve projections on Cinderella Castle, and the large amount of physical lights hanging over the castle would interfere with these intricately designed presentations. As far as money, it frankly likely cost a lot to hang and remove the lights, and is likely much more cost-effective to stick with projections. Cinderella Castle Despite these practical considerations, many fans still yearn for the return of the Dream Lights, expressing their desires through social media posts. Stay tuned to DFB for more on the resort’s evolution. 3 Major Changes We’re Expecting for Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party in Disney World Join the DFB Newsletter to get all the breaking news right in your inbox! 10. Do you love keeping up with all things Disney World? EPCOT We do too! That’s why we’re in the parks every day, keeping our eyes peeled and ears open to see what changes are happening in the parks. Based on Disney World’s history, we can confidently say we’re going to be getting some major Disney news soon, and we’re sharing why we think so right here. We have been covering EPCOT festivals for over a decade, so we know a thing or two about them. EPCOT’s International Food and Wine Festival is kicking off on August 28th, 2025, and it will run from November 22nd, 2025. We’re a little less than a month away, which means big news is coming our way soon! 2023 EPCOT Food and Wine Festival Leading up to a festival, our team is constantly watching for booths to start popping up in EPCOT, hints at the new merchandise, and for menus to drop! We’ve already started seeing booths materialize in the park, like the Belgium Booth, which is returning in 2025. Belgium Booth — Coming Back in 2025! The biggest news we’re expecting soon, though, is those new menus! Traditionally, Disney drops the menus for each festival a few weeks before the event (sometimes only 2 weeks) so you can start mapping out which bites and sips are must-dos for you. Full Spread at the Belgium Booth in 2024 As we inch closer and closer to the opening day of the festival, we also know we’re one day closer to getting the menus so we can devour and go over each item, ingredient, and detail so we know what’s the same, what’s changed, and what’s new! It can feel like a lot if you’ve never been to a festival before because there are literally dozens of snacks, entrees, drinks, and desserts, so sort through, but it doesn’t have to be. We’ve worked on our DFB Food and Wine Festival Guide for years, so you know what is really worth your time and money. There are SO many options at this festival, so we keep our guide right on our phone for easy scrolling and viewing when it comes time to plan and snack around the World Showcase. We are chomping at the bit for the new menus to drop, and you can be sure we will share them as soon as they’re out in the world! As always, be sure to keep following DFB for the latest Disney news and updates. Disney Announces NEW Breakfast Buffet for 2025 EPCOT Food & Wine Festival IT'S WINE & DINE TIME! 11. Universal Orlando has announced the final two haunted houses planned for the 2025 edition of its Halloween Horror Nights, with mazes based on the world of WWE and the 2023 film “Five Nights at Freddy’s.” In the house named WWE Presents: The Horrors of the Wyatt Sicks, HHN guests will meet up with Uncle Howdy and the “one of the most disturbing groups in WWE history,” a Universal news release says. “Ramblin Rabbit, Mercy the Buzzard, Abby the Witch and Huskus the Pig will be waiting to take bloody retribution on a world that has abandoned them.” Also on hand: the Fiend, looming in the shadows. In wrestling circles, the Wyatt Sicks is named in honor of Bray Wyatt, a WWE wrestler who died of heart problems exacerbated by COVID in 2023. Wyatt was born in Brooksville and was a star at Orlando-based NXT in 2012-13. He wrestled at WrestleMania at Camping World Stadium in 2017. “Five Nights at Freddy’s” had been identified months ago as a part of Horror Nights, but its house was not made official until Tuesday. Expect a setting of Freddy Fazbear’s Pizzeria and full-scale replicas of Freddy, Chica, Bonnie, Foxy and Mr. Cupcake, Universal says. The characters were created in collaboration with Jim Henson’s Creature Shop. “Five Nights” is the highest-grossing Blumhouse film, an adaptation of a 2014 videogame. The film stars Josh Hutcherson, Elizabeth Lail and Matthew Lillard, who are also in the cast of “Five Nights at Freddy’s 2,” which is set for release in December. 12. Believe it or not, the 2025 iteration of Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party is almost here… and some new “rules” are coming along with it! Jack and Sally I’ve been writing about Disney parks for half a decade, and during that time I’ve seen numerous changes come to Disney’s premier Halloween event. This year is no exception, leading to some new unofficial “rules” that will be key to having a hauntingly good time at this year’s Halloween bash. Don’t Get Spooked By the Price Let’s start with purchasing tickets. This year, Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party takes place on August 15th, 17th, 19th, 22nd, 24th, 26th and 29th, September 2nd, 5th, 7th, 9th, 12th, 14th, 16th, 19th, 21st, 23rd, 25th, 26th, 28th and 30th, and October 2nd, 3rd, 5th, 7th, 9th, 10th, 13th, 14th, 16th, 17th, 19th, 23rd, 24th, 26th, 28th, 30th and 31st. Depending which of those dates you’re going, party tickets may cost you more than 2024. Wristband distribution Tickets for the 2025 installment of Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party range from $119 to $229, depending on the date. In comparison, 2024’s tickets ranged from $119 to $199, also depending on the date. Meaning that while the cheapest dates remained the same, the most in-demand dates increased by $30. Hail the New Pumpkin King! One of the highlights – and longest waits – of Mickey’s Not-So-Scary-Halloween Party’s past has always been the meet & greet with Jack Skellington and Sally from The Nightmare Before Christmas. However, Disney has upped the ante this year, redesigning Jack to more closely resemble his image from the film. Jack and Sally in 2024 Catch Mickey & Minnie Together Speaking of meet & greets, this year’s party offers an opportunity that guest MUST take advantage of. For the first time ever, Mickey and Minnie will meet guests together in their new Halloween costumes! via Disney Parks on Instagram Don’t Skip the Special Rides While guests attending Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party may skip many of the available rides to instead spend their time trick-or-treating or experiencing exclusive entertainment like the Not-So-Spooky Spectacular, the Hocus Pocus Villain Spectacular, and the Boo-To-You Halloween Parade, it’s important to remember that three attractions will have special Halloween presentations during the event. Guests can: Experience Space Mountain in pitch-black darkness while listening to spooky tunes. Go for a spin at Mad Tea Party as special lighting effects provide a unique ambience. Get a kick out of fun jokes presented with a Halloween twist at Monsters Inc. Laugh Floor. Special lighting and music at Mad Tea Party If you’re heading to Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party this year, be sure to keep these new “rules” in mind to have a spooktacular time. 13. Disney Adult. Disney fan. Disney-obsessed. Whatever you call yourself, you’re going to want to mark August 29th to 31st in your calendar and keep your phone notifications on. We love Disney announcements We know it feels like Disney drops news about parks and movies randomly throughout the year (and they sometimes do!), but a lot of the announcements come at one specific point of the year, and that time is almost upon us. The Destination D23: A Journey Around the World of Disney is right around the corner, and this is the event where Disney spills the tea on all the projects they’ve been working on. My favorite part is the Disney Parks announcement, but they also give news about movies, Disney Cruise Line, and other Disney-related news. ©Disney Destination D23 will be at Disney World this year in Coronado Springs Resort. Destination D23 is typically a bit smaller than the traditional D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event in California. ©Disney What kind of information are we expecting? As someone who has watched D23 conferences for years and likes to keep track of all the new information, I have an idea of what to expect to hear. ©Disney Because it’s the smaller of the expos, I would be surprised if Disney announced huge things like new parks, new lands, and possibly even new rides. I think Disney will focus on updates on current projects since they released so many projects for D23 in 2024. Some of the projects I would love to hear updates on are: The Monsters, Inc. themed land in Hollywood Studios ©Disney The retheme of Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster to include the Muppets ©Disney Puebla Esperanza, the Tropical Americas-themed land in Animal Kingdom A new attraction themed after the Walt Disney Animation Studios film “Encanto” follows Antonio the day after he received his magical gift – the ability to communicate with animals and is situated in the new Tropical Americas land coming to Disney’s Animal Kingdom. Piston Peak, the Cars land coming to Magic Kingdom Piston Peak ©Disney Villains land behind Big Thunder Mountain Villains Land ©Disney These ideas are only for Disney World, too! Projects are happening at Disneyland, international parks, the cruise lines, movies, and shows… ©Disney Of course, we could be wrong on all of this! Disney might announce all new projects, not update others, or cancel other things. Who knows? Only Disney knows what Disney will do, and we’re just here for the ride. What do you hope they announce at D23? Tell us your predictions in the comments and make sure you keep following Disney Food Blog for more! 20. Holiday magic is supposed to feel exciting — not like a stress test. Fireworks for Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party is one of Disney World’s biggest holiday events, and we usually look forward to it all year. But heading into the 2025 season, we’re feeling a little more anxious than usual. Between rising prices, minimal updates to the experience, and major closures across Magic Kingdom, this year’s party is shaping up to be more frustrating than festive. Let’s break down exactly why we’re worried about MVMCP this time around. Same Party, Higher Price Tag It’s hard to justify a bigger price tag when the experience stays exactly the same — and that’s pretty much what we’re seeing this year. MVMCP in 2025 is clocking in at a record high of $229 on the most expensive nights. That’s a $10 bump from last year, and while $10 may not seem like a huge jump on paper, it stings when nothing else about the event has changed. ©Disney We’re talking about the same parade, the same fireworks show, the same character meets, and the same cookies. Yes, we still love those cookies, but we were hoping for something new. A fresh overlay, a new float, maybe an exclusive treat or a reworked show element to keep things feeling special. But so far, Disney hasn’t announced anything like that. Fireworks for Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party When you’re dropping over $220 for one night in the park, there should be something that makes it feel like you’re getting more than last year. Right now, that’s not the case. Construction Chaos There’s no avoiding it—Magic Kingdom is in a bit of a mess right now. Several key attractions are closed, and that means fewer options for guests to enjoy during the party. If you’re someone who likes to squeeze in rides between parades and cookies (and who doesn’t?), this year is going to feel more limited than usual. Walls near the Haunted Mansion in Magic Kingdom Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin is closing in August and won’t reopen until 2026. Big Thunder Mountain Railroad is also down for a lengthy refurbishment. And in a pretty big shift, both Tom Sawyer Island and the Liberty Square Riverboat are now permanently closed to make way for the upcoming Cars-themed land, “Piston Peak.” Big Thunder Mountain Railroad So while you’re still paying more, you’re also getting less in terms of attractions. With some of these ride closures affecting capacity, we’re expecting longer lines for the few big attractions that are open during the event. The Magic Feels a Bit Stalled Every year, we hope MVMCP will get a little upgrade. It doesn’t have to be a total overhaul — just something to make it feel like Disney is still putting that extra sparkle on it. But this year, we’re not seeing much effort to keep things fresh. FREE Cookies and Cocoa! The event has been running in its current form for years, and while it’s a solid offering, there’s definitely room for innovation. But MVMCP is holding steady with the same setup. Santa!! We know the party can evolve, and that’s the kind of change keeps the event exciting. But this year, we’re seeing a lot of “copy and paste” vibes, and it makes us nervous that Disney might be relying too much on nostalgia to carry the event, rather than actually enhancing it. Should You Still Go? Look, we’re not saying don’t go. MVMCP can still be a magical experience — especially if it’s your first time or you’ve got holiday-loving kids who want to meet Santa Goofy. The snow on Main Street, the lights, the entertainment — it’s all still there, and it is still MAGICAL. But we are saying to go in with clear expectations. Don’t expect anything new. Expect higher prices. Expect some areas of the park to be blocked off or closed. And if you’ve been before, be prepared for a little déjà vu. We’ll keep our fingers crossed that Disney surprises us with a late announcement or two, but for now? We’re a little nervous. And we want you to be prepped, not disappointed. 22. It’s almost time for the Disney Destiny to set sail! ©Disney The newest Disney Cruise Line ship is setting sail on November 20th, 2025. The new ship is themed to heroes and villains, meaning we’ll get to see tons of our favorite baddies and champions on board. One of those heroes is Hercules in the cruise line’s newest Broadway-style show, and we just got another new look at what we can expect to see on stage! After seeing this, we are more excited than we thought possible! They also confirmed that after the cast completes these final rehearsals in Toronto, they will travel to Germany to prepare for the show’s debut in November. We are genuinely so blown away by the size of these puppets! Throughout the rest of the story, characters from the movie will be represented in new ways. For example, the Muses will be guiding the audience through the show as storytellers. The multi-headed Hydra will also be making an appearance as another massive puppet. ©Disney Disney Hercules was made exclusively for the Disney Destiny, and it will play alongside shows like “Frozen, A Musical Spectacular” and “Disney Seas the Adventure.” We are too excited to see this amazing new show being brought to life. 23. There might be no one more excited for Monsters, Inc. to come to Hollywood Studios than me. It’s been one of my favorite Pixar movies for a long time, and seeing it come to life and walking down the streets of Monstropolis is a dream come true. ©Disney While we’re many years off from being able to hop on the attractions and meet Mike and Sulley, we got a closer look at the space, and we’re screaming with excitement (see what I did there?). Currently, it looks like most of the construction work is going towards the hanging door roller coaster. This area used to be a Cast Member parking lot, but is being used to expand the area, and Bioreconstruct on X has been able to get pictures! ©bioreconstruct on X They’re tearing up the ground both in the middle, where the building would be, and the outer perimeter. This area looks HUGE! ©bioreconstruct on X Here’s a great angle at it expanding from the original Muppets Courtyard. To the left of the white building are parts of Galaxy’s Edge. ©bioreconstruct on X Anything happening in the actual courtyard? No crazy updates here. It’s still very much Muppet themed (except for the Miss Piggy fountain, which they tore out very early in the process). A lot of the ground is being taken up and worked on. ©bioreconstruct on X MuppetVision is beautifully intact. This building will likely host the new show coming to the area, so we’re expecting minimal interior changes. Right now, Gonzo is still hanging off the clock tower, and the marquee sign still stands! ©bioreconstruct on X There’s no opening timeline on the land and beyond the idea of a show and the hanging door coaster, Disney hasn’t given us huge insight into what to expect. With Destination D23 around the corner, we’re hoping (okay, begging) that we’ll receive new concept art and details. ©Disney In the meantime, make sure you’re following Disney Food Blog for more Disney news! 25. While you might think of Disney World for all the best theme park snacks, you might be sleeping on Universal Orlando. We found two snacks that we knew we had to try. Thunder Falls Terrace We headed to Thunder Falls Terrace, right by the Jurassic Park River Adventure, to try some snacks. This Jurassic Park-themed restaurant offers plenty of seating and air conditioning, and now has two more snacks that are causing a roar. We started with the InGen Empanada Dog Combo for $17.49. This is a spiced beef empanada and Nathan’s Famous hot dog, served with tomato, red onion, aji amarillo, and cilantro garlic sauce, accompanied by fries. InGen Empanada Dog Bam! This hot dog had a bit of spicy kick that we really enjoyed. The empanada beef and the beef hot dog seemed to be competing for who had the better meat (spoiler: we loved them both). The hot dog was beefy, juicy, and had a lot of flavor. We also loved the empanada, with all the sauces and how well it was cooked. It’s so big! One major issue we faced was keeping everything together. With all of the items, the beef leans to one side, so that side becomes a bit weaker and makes it harder to hold. While we’re not surprised that a hot dog with so many toppings can be messy, it’s always a bit disappointing when we have to eat it with a fork.
