  1. Okay, we cover Disney Cruise Line a lot…because, well, we love Disney and Disney cruises. ©Regent Seven Seas Cruises But other cruise lines are doing some pretty amazing things, too. According to The Orlando Sentinel, luxury cruise line Regent Seven Seas Cruises is getting ready to launch its largest cruise ship yet, Seven Seas Prestige, and it includes the kind of suite that we can only dream about. So what’s this gorgeous ultra luxury suite cost? Just a mere $25,000 a night (yeah, we’ll be right back when we win the lottery). But, hey, if you have $25,000 to throw around, you could book this gorgeous two-level suite that features 8,794 square feet of space. About 5,000 of that space is indoor space, including two bedrooms and two-and-a-half bathrooms. The rest is a massive wraparound balcony. The suite features a main living area, a formal dining room, a bar facing the ocean, another living room, and a full guest suite. WHEW. ©Regent Seven Seas Cruises There’s a floating natural stone staircase AND elevator (!!!) that leads to the second floor, which has a spa-inspired bathroom, a handcrafted Italian bed, a walk-in closet, a dedicated massage room, and a personal gym. Y’all…we would never leave these rooms…EVER. They’d have to drag us off the cruise. ©Regent Seven Seas Cruises If that isn’t enough, the room also comes with a dedicated personal butler, a private car, AND a guide at every port, daily spa treatments, curated linen and pillow menus, caviar service IN THE SUITE, and dry cleaning. Check out this video for a good look at this space: Looking to book this suite for your next vacation? The new ship will set sail out of Miami in December 2026 to visit the Caribbean and South America. If $25,000 is a bit too steep, the ship has other suites (and all have balconies) that start at $6,499 per person. Don’t want to go through all of the stress of booking your Disney World trip alone? 2. Okay, when it comes to deciding on a restaurant in Disney Springs, all bets are off because there are SO many good places to eat. Money Honey Bacon BBQ Sandwich Y’all…we still struggle with the decision. Should we do table service and go to Homecomin’ or Wine Bar George? Do we want to dive into some sushi at Morimoto Asia or nosh on some Italian food at Terralina Crafted Italian? Or do we want quick service and indulge in some savory meats at The Polite Pig, nom on some Indian-inspired foods at eet by Maneet Chauhan, or grab fish and chips from Cookes of Dublin? Well, if you’re in Disney Springs and struggle like we do when looking for your next lunch, we may have just found it for you. Chicken Guy! is always one of our go-to quick service restaurants in Disney Springs…and for good reason. The celebrity-owned chain by Guy Fieri really does have some of the best chicken sandwiches EVER. Well, a brand new sandwich has dropped, the Money Honey Bacon BBQ Chicken Sandwich for $9.99 with special sauce, fried pickles, cheddar cheese, smoked bacon & Money Honey BBQ sauce. AWWWW yeah. Look at that beauty! So this sandwich isn’t anything unique, but we loved it. The bun was fluffy, soft, and buttery. The chicken was juicy with a nice crisp on the outside. You also get two gigantic chicken tenders on the sandwich, so they’re not skimping on the meat here. The fried pickles are also a nice addition — they were tangy with a nice bit of breading and crunch on the outside. And the crispy bacon was…well, it’s bacon! It’s awesome. Tender chicken You definitely get more of the flavor from the BBQ sauce than the special sauce. Now, the Money Honey is a sweet honey BBQ sauce, so you’ll have to like sweet BBQ sauces to appreciate it. The special sauce is creamy and reminds us a lot of Raising Cane’s special sauce. As you can imagine, though, there’s a lot going on here, so this can get messy, but WORTH IT. Should you travel to Disney Springs for this sandwich? Maybe not. But if you’re going to be there anyway, this is a great lunch. Stay tuned to DFB for more. 3. Some days at Disney World, you just want your Mickey waffles delivered straight to your bed. YUM Room service used to be a standard perk at many Disney World hotels, but over the past few years, it’s become harder and harder to find. In fact, only a small handful of places still bring food right to your room. Whether you’re planning a lazy morning, a late-night snack run without leaving your pajamas, or just want to avoid crowds, here’s where you can still get in-room dining at Disney World right now. Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa If you want that classic Disney luxury experience — and the convenience of room service — the Grand Floridian is the last Disney-owned hotel still offering it. Called “Private Dining,” this service runs for both breakfast and dinner. Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa Breakfast is available from 7:00 AM to 12:00 PM, with entrees typically ranging from $15 to $34.99 per adult. Dinner runs from 5:00 PM to 11:00 PM with a similar price range. Menus feature a mix of comfort foods and upscale dishes, so you can go as simple as pancakes or as fancy as filet mignon without leaving your room. ©Disney Considering how park hours and transportation can eat into meal times, this is a major perk for Grand Floridian guests. If you’re coming back late from fireworks or just want to avoid a crowded quick-service spot in the morning, having food delivered straight to your room can feel like a lifesaver. Walt Disney World Swan Hotel While the Swan isn’t Disney-owned, it still has the location and perks of being right in the heart of Disney World — and it offers in-room dining. Guests can use the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin app to place an “In Room Dining” order. Breakfast runs daily from 6:00 AM to 11:00 AM, and dinner is available from 5:00 PM to 11:55 PM. ©Marriott This service covers everything from hearty breakfast plates to full dinner entrees. Food is delivered in takeaway containers, and there’s an automatic $6 delivery fee plus a 22% service charge. And yes — you’ll need to be in your room when the order arrives. The Swan’s location between EPCOT and Hollywood Studios makes it especially convenient if you’re planning a mid-day break or heading back after a late night at the parks. Walt Disney World Dolphin Hotel Just like the Swan, the Dolphin offers the same in-room dining setup through the same app. The hours are identical — breakfast from 6:00 AM to 11:00 AM, dinner from 5:00 PM to 11:55 PM — and the menu variety is solid for both meals. ©Marriott Because the Swan and Dolphin share amenities, you can expect a similar level of service. This is a great option if you’re looking for a deluxe-level hotel near EPCOT without Disney’s deluxe price tag. ©Marriott And if you’re the type who likes to plan down to the minute, mobile ordering through the app means you can schedule food to arrive exactly when you want it. Just remember that Disney park days rarely go exactly as planned, so build in a little flexibility. Walt Disney World Swan Reserve The Swan Reserve is the newest of the Swan and Dolphin family and also offers in-room dining via the same app. This hotel’s service runs from 6:00 AM all the way until 11:59 PM daily, meaning you can get breakfast, lunch, and dinner. ©Marriott Like the others, food arrives in takeaway containers with the same $6 delivery fee and 22% service charge. The Reserve is a bit smaller and more boutique-style compared to the Swan and Dolphin, so you may find it feels a little quieter. That can make in-room dining here feel extra relaxing after a long park day. A Few Things to Keep in Mind Room service at Disney World hotels is not what it used to be. Gone are the days when most deluxe resorts offered it, and menus now lean more toward simplified options instead of extravagant spreads. You’ll also want to factor in the delivery fee and service charge, which can make it pricier than grabbing food from a quick-service spot. ©Marriott That said, there are times when it’s absolutely worth it — like when you’re getting back late from Magic Kingdom and don’t want to trek to the hotel food court, or when you’re starting your day with an Early Entry strategy and need breakfast without the hassle. The convenience of staying put, avoiding lines, and enjoying a meal in your own space can be a real vacation saver. Bottom Line Right now, these are your only four options for room service at Disney World: Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa Walt Disney World Swan Hotel Walt Disney World Dolphin Hotel Walt Disney World Swan Reserve If you’re booking a trip and this perk matters to you, it’s worth choosing one of these hotels. And if Disney ever decides to bring back room service at more resorts, you can bet we’ll be the first to let you know. Until then, sometimes the most magical part of your Disney day might just be breakfast in bed. Oh yeah, we’re ready! 5. At Disneyland Resort, there are so many unique opportunities and attractions to experience, it’s sometimes hard to fit everything into one trip. Screamer of the Day! However, sometimes attractions have to be retired to make way for new experiences, and that’s what’s going to happen with Monsters, Inc. Mike & Sulley to the Rescue! in Disney California Adventure. It’ll be closing in early 2026 to make way for the new Avatar land, but that means a super unique opportunity is also going away — so here’s how you can be Screamer of the Day before the ride closes! To be Screamer of the Day, you’ve got to get to Hollywood Backlot as soon as you possibly can — even before the ride opens! This is key because being one of the first people there significantly increases your chances of a magical moment. Get there early! We were all decked out in our Monsters, Inc. gear in hopes we’d get picked, but we’ll be the first to admit that younger kiddos are more likely to get selected as Screamer of the Day. In fact, we tried this experiment twice, and didn’t get picked the first time because it went to a young fan, which was adorable to see! It’s highly sought after! So, what do you get if you’re chosen as Screamer of the Day? Well, you first get to sign your name in the book, which is full of all the past Screamers of the day! Sign your name in the book! You also get to be the very FIRST person on the attraction that day! You’ll be walked by Cast Members through the queue and get to be the first person (along with your party, if you’re with a group) to ride. You’ll also get a Lightning Lane (okay, the real ones are calling it a FastPass) to access the ride later that day. Monsters, Inc. fans need to add this to their bucket list. You can say hi to these guys, too! Remember, you have till the beginning of 2026 to try to be a Screamer of the Day before the attractions go away forever. 6. World Princess Week is coming up soon, from August 23rd to August 31st. To celebrate, Disney World is releasing a series of princess-themed food and drinks. Bubbles of the Sea Now, we’ve already been impressed with some pretty gorgeous treats, like the Rapunzel Berries and Cream Cake, Tiana’s Mint Chocolate Chip Bar, the Moana Mini Cake, and the Colors of the Wind Petit Cake, but the latest princess-themed treat we tried doesn’t quite live up to the high bar we’ve set for the Princesses. Let’s talk about Bubbles of the Sea at The Market in Disney’s Hollywood Studios. First, this drink has some history because it’s not new, although it’s new to this location. In 2023, it was at Fairfax Fare in Hollywood Studios. However, it’s also on the menu at Centertown Market at Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort. So poor Ariel didn’t even get a new drink or snack…this has been recycled from a drink that’s already been available. It’s made with Gold Peak Sweet Green Tea, Lemon Juice, Pineapple, and Guava, topped with Boba Pearls and a splash of Shimmer for $7.29. It’s so boring Another problem we have with this drink is that all the other Princess-themed treats have been SO PRETTY, and this is just so…plain compared to them. Ariel deserves so much better. And even worse is that when you drink it, all the colors combine and you end up with a muddy brownish muck. We also didn’t see any of the shimmer we were promised. Where’s the shimmer? As far as flavors go, we taste mostly the green tea and guava, but barely any lemon or pineapple. However, it’s a sweet drink, and even if you don’t particularly care for green tea, you might be okay with it here. But again, we’re disappointed that Ariel didn’t even get a new or pretty drink or snack this year for World Princess Week. Sorry, Ariel, the human world is a mess, and you deserve better. Stay tuned to DFB for more. REVIEW: We Waited HOURS To Get Our Hands on This Disney World Snack. Was It Worth It?! Have you tried any of the special World Princess Week treats yet? Which is your favorite? Let us know in the comments! The post This Disney World Drink Is Desperate for a Change first appeared on the disney food blog. View the full article
  7. There are two types of Disney Adults out there — those who were born and raised in the fandom, and those who chose it in their older years. AJ’s book! And if you’re part of the first group, then you’ve been having some magical moments throughout your whole life. Today, we’re sharing some of the most iconic experiences Disney Adults had as kids! First, if you’re a Disney Adult, it’s a given that you were once obsessed with one specific Disney movie. Whether it was Cars, Beauty and the Beast, or Alice in Wonderland, you probably watched that film on repeat until your parents could quote the entire thing from top to bottom. Who else LOVES ‘Beauty and the Beast’? If your family went to Disney World on vacation, there are probably some peak childhood moments you remember from those trips. Stepping inside Mickey and Minnie’s houses was iconic for many, while others fondly remember playing the wild games inside Innoventions at EPCOT. Innoventions, we miss you! Of course, we probably all have pictures of our younger selves standing awkwardly in front of Cinderella Castle with siblings, eating a rapidly melting Mickey bar, or giving the biggest hug to our favorite character (back in the days when they used to roam the parks more freely!). Magic Kingdom Because of all those memories associated with your trips growing up, maybe you shed a few tears when you watched Illuminations at EPCOT for the last time, or maybe you seriously debated writing a letter to The Walt Disney Company when they decided to take away Muppet*Vision 3D. But those memories and strong feelings of attachment to something magical? That’s what draws us together as a community! MuppetVision 3D Theater So for those of you who consider yourselves parts of the Disney Adults community, or those who don’t quite call themselves Disney Adults but are fascinated by the history and psychology of it all, we have just the thing for you! Our founder here at DFB, AJ, wrote a brand-new book called Disney Adults, and it delves into all these topics. ‘Disney Adults’! This book explores our rather unique subculture, delving into the “why” and “how” of Disney Adults. It’s full of anecdotes from people who’ve lived the life, and stories from fans who were captured by the fun of a fantasy land and an anthropomorphic mouse. It’s the ultimate vacation read, especially if your vacation is taking you to The Most Magical Place on Earth. ‘Disney Adults’ by AJ Wolfe So if you haven’t gotten yourself a copy, what are you waiting for?! It’s available now in bookstores, on Amazon, and even as an audiobook. Stay tuned to DFB for more Disney news and updates! Click Here to See the NEW Snacks in Disney World Inspired by This Book! 8. It’s that time again! ©The Walt Disney Company Each week, we dive into the biggest breaking news from the Walt Disney Company so we have a full recap of what’s going on within the Disney world. (Get it? Disney World?) This week had tons of fun surprises, so let’s dive right in! It’s been a big week for Disney, especially in the U.S. parks! Let’s start in Florida before catching a flight over to Anaheim. Beak and Barrel Opening Date The biggest news of this week is easily that we finally have an opening date for Magic Kingdom’s new Pirates Lounge! The new lounge, called the Beak and Barrel, will open on August 29th, 2025. ©Disney Disney has shared that this lounge is a “first-of-its-kind experience will extend the story of Pirates of the Caribbean.” We’ve gotten sneak peeks inside the new lounge, but this week Disney also gave us a glimpse at the new menu. Plunderer’s Punch ©Disney Inside, Pirates of all ages can gather to “tell their tales,” while enjoying some “grogs and grub.” There will be new drinks like The Treasure Trove, Kraken’s Catch, and a Salty Seas mARRRgarita. Plus, there will be new bites like Kraken’s Catch, which is a cold salad with octopus tentacles marinated in lemon and lime juice and paired with olives, bell peppers, avocado, and Piquillo pepper-almond foam. ©Disney This spot will be open for after-hours parties as well. We are grabbing our eye patches and hooks as we speak! This new lounge starts taking reservations on August 14th, 2025, for anyone hunting for treasure. The Beak and Barrel — Pirates of the Caribbean Tavern at Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom Halloween Decorations Are Here… Kinda Are you ready for spooky season? We know we are! One sign that Halloween is getting closer is when Magic Kingdom dons its annual holiday makeover. This week, we finally got a hint that Fall is close because we spotted the first Halloween decorations in Magic Kingdom! The first sign of spooky season! At the TTC and outside of Magic Kingdom, signs for Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, along with hay bales, pumpkins, and fall leaves, have appeared! The Magic Kingdom after-hours party kicks off on August 15th, 2025, so we are eagerly awaiting even more pumpkins and ghouls to start appearing around the park. A sign in front of Magic Kingdom! Last year, Disney transformed Magic Kingdom only 4 days before the party began, so we know it should be any day now. We’re eagerly awaiting for the party to start so we can see all of the exclusive entertainment, try all of the limited-time snacks, and hop in those short lines for popular attractions. Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party in Disney World’s Magic Kingdom Disneyland Ride Closures Finally, stopping over in Disneyland, two popular rides are closing soon! First, the annual closure of the Haunted Mansion is taking place. It began on August 9th, 2o25, and will remain until August 22nd, when the ride reopens at the Haunted Mansion Holiday. Haunted Mansion Holiday This annual overlay is a huge signal of the holiday season beginning in Disneyland! Jack Skellington, Oogie Boogie, Sally, and more characters from The Nightmare Before Christmas take over the classic attraction for a hauntingly good time. This overlay is super popular, and if it stays as long as last year, we will have roughly half the year with these characters. Jack Skellington The second closure was a bit more unexpected! Big Thunder Mountain in Disneyland is closing on September 2nd. Beginning on September 2nd through mid-September (the furthest the calendar goes at the time of writing), the ride has no operating hours, indicating an upcoming closure. Big Thunder Mountain at Disneyland Disney has yet to share details on the nature of the closure and how long it will last. This also means that both U.S. versions of the attraction will be closed at the same time since Magic Kingdom’s version has been closed since January 2025 and will remain closed until sometime in 2026. Big Thunder Mountain Railroad in Disneyland! We’re eager to see how long the closure will last and what changes will occur. Learn more about the Big Thunder Mountain closure here. These are just a few of the major changes happening across the Disney Parks, and we can’t wait to see what next week brings! As always, be sure to keep following DFB for more Disney news and updates. 10. Disney World is constantly toying around with its restaurant menus, and we often see some of our favorite snacks return…or worse…get taken off menus entirely. Peanut Butter Whoopie Pie Now, we’ve witnessed this recently in Magic Kingdom: Columbia Harbour House stopped offering hush puppies for a while, but they eventually came back. We also lost our minds when Sleepy Hollow got rid of the original waffles for Mickey waffles, but those, too, sort of came back. Now, we’ve witnessed the disappearance of one of our favorite snacks in EPCOT…and y’all, we may not be okay. The Peanut Butter Whoopie Pie at Sunshine Seasons (that we LOVED) has been replaced by a Mickey-shaped Pistachio Macaron. The macaron, which is $5.79, is one of those big macarons, so at least it’s a decent value. However, y’all, that Peanut Butter Whoopie Pie was EVERYTHING. Okay, we’re going to need a moment. The Macaron The Peanut Butter Whoopie Pie was a chocolate whoopie pie with peanut butter filling and shaved chocolate pieces, topped with whipped cream and powdered sugar. Plus, it was cheaper than the new macaron…the whoopee pie was only $4.29. Do you know how hard it is to find good snacks in Disney World UNDER $5? Peanut Butter Whoopie Pie We now feel like Disney has punked us. Granted, the macaron is quite nice — the outside of the macaron was light, sweet, and so fragile, just how it’s supposed to be, but it will still leave a bitter taste in our mouths because of what it replaced. We did ask a Cast Member and were told that this is the offering Sunshine Seasons will now have instead of the Peanut Butter Whoopie Pie, which could be gone…forever. We will miss the Peanut Butter and Chocolatey goodness But here’s the thing: this snack has come and gone before, so surely it’s not gone forever? Please say it ain’t so, Disney. Anyway, please give us a moment to grieve during this difficult time, and stay tuned to DFB for more. 11. If you’re heading to Epic Universe, Universal Orlando’s newest park, and planning to do whatever it takes to ride Harry Potter and the Battle at the Ministry but ALSO don’t want to wait hours and hours, there are a few times during the day that you will NOT want to get in line. 300 minutes = 5 hours Thankfully, we watch Epic Universe wait times every day — yes, even when we’re not in the parks — so we keep up with all the latest data. I can personally say that even when I’m not physically there, I study these wait times so you can feel confident knowing that you’ll be prepared for your upcoming vacation. If you want to avoid those wildly long wait times, here’s the WORST time to ride this popular attraction! Based on the wait times data that we log every single day, the biggest rule of them all is that Battle at the Ministry is NOT the ride to rope drop. As it turns out, everyone goes to rope drop this attraction, so some of the highest wait times are right in the morning. Basically, if you aren’t staying at a Universal Orlando hotel and can’t get early entry into the park, we recommend waiting until later in the day. Battle at the Ministry Queue Alright, so the morning is out, how about the middle of the day? While our data shows that the middle of the day is better than the morning, it’s not the best time to ride. This attraction doesn’t seem to see a dip in wait time during the typical lunch time, so if you’re still willing to wait 1.5-2 hours, then midday could be good, but if you want the lowest wait time, there’s only one choice. Harry Potter and the Battle at the Ministry You guessed it — the best time to ride Battle at the Ministry is the very END of the day! We mean, the last 1-3 hours of the park day, where it often drops to 60-70 minutes or lower. However, this is very risky, because since this ride has so much new technology, it can sometimes be finicky and go down pretty often. If it goes down at the end of the day, there’s a chance it may not come back up, leaving you without the chance to ride at all. Harry Potter and the Battle at the Ministry We only recommend waiting until the end of the day if one of these applies to you: You CANNOT STAND waiting in long lines, and doing so ruins your day You’ve ridden the attraction before on a previous trip or day Missing the attraction wouldn’t make or break your trip You should also keep in mind that sometimes they close the line early. We’ve seen it close 1-2 hours before the park day ends, so keep an eye on it and check if the wait time says “at capacity” or “closed for the day.” Line for Harry Potter and the Battle at the Ministry Keep in mind, too, that while this ride is one of the few that stays open when bad weather hits, the wait time is BOUND to soar when a storm rolls in, so avoid it if you can! Most rides are closed when bad weather strikes, but this might be a great time to grab food instead of running to one of the open rides. It’s a popular ride If you NEED to ride and don’t care who you do it with, you can also try the Single Rider Line! In this line, your group will be split up at the loading station, but you can wait in line together, which can help you experience the attraction with shorter waits. More Recent Epic Universe News! 13. Staying in a Disney World hotel gets you a lot of perks, but staying at a deluxe Disney World hotel comes with a few extra perks. Main Street at night Of course, you get free tickets to a water park for the day of your arrival. In addition, you have access to Disney World’s expansive transportation system to make your way around the resort. Then there’s Early Theme Park Entry for all parks. Deluxe Disney World hotel guests also get Extended Evening Hours, and this week, Extended Evening Hours will be returning to Magic Kingdom on August 13th. Extended Evening Hours gives Disney World deluxe hotel guests two extra hours in a theme park after the park officially closes. That means you get extra time in Magic Kingdom to really experience the park at night (warning, though: Fantasyland is DARK at night). Cinderella Castle at night Extended Evening Hours also means shorter lines for rides, and trust me, I’ve been to Magic Kingdom for Extended Evening Hours, and it is SO NICE when everything, including Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, is practically a walk-on. Plus, you’ll get to ride TRON Lightcycle/Run at night with a shorter line — and it was MEANT to be experienced at night. So it’s one hotel perk you’ll certainly want to take advantage of. TRON Lightcycle / Run If you will be taking advantage of Extended Evening Hours in Magic Kingdom, here’s a full list of what’s open during that time: “it’s a small world” Astro Orbiter The Barnstormer Big Thunder Mountain Railroad Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin Country Bear Musical Jamboree Dumbo the Flying Elephant Haunted Mansion Mad Tea Party The Magic Carpets of Aladdin The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh Mickey’s PhilharMagic Monsters Inc. Laugh Floor Peter Pan’s Flight Pirates of the Caribbean Prince Charming Regal Carrousel Seven Dwarfs Mine Train Space Mountain Swiss Family Treehouse Tomorrowland Speedway TRON Lightcycle / Run Under the Sea — Journey of The Little Mermaid Walt Disney’s Enchanted Tiki Room Seven Dwarfs Mine Train To find out which parks have Extended Evening Hours on which dates, you can consult the calendar on the Disney World website or My Disney Experience app. Stay tuned to DFB for more. 4 Magic Kingdom Meals We Avoid at All Costs Do you take advantage of Extended Evening Hours when you visit Disney World? 14. The Magic Kingdom may be Walt Disney World’s oldest – and most popular – theme park, but the food offerings at the “Most Magical Place on Earth” leave a lot to be desired. A bite In the many years I’ve been visiting the Magic Kingdom, I’ve had a lot of meals at the Magic Kingdom, as has the rest of the DFB team. Over that time, we’ve tried table service, quick service, snack carts, and everything in between. Some things we’ve loved, and others, well… Be Our Guest Be Our Guest might be one of the most perplexing dining establishments at Walt Disney World. Thematically, it’s one of the most impressive spots at the resort, and certainly a must for Beauty and the Beast fans in that regard. The Grand Ballroom in Be Our Guest Restaurant However, the restaurant’s food offerings have evolved a lot of the years, not often for the better, all while transitioning to an expensive prix fixe menu. Plus, the Beast doesn’t even appear anymore. Steak Frites Tony’s Town Square Tony’s Town Square isn’t terrible, but given its location — in Town Square, the first restaurant that guests see when they enter the Magic Kingdom — it should be better. Its Italian food menu Is basically Olive Garden-level offerings. Plus, the Lady and the Tramp theming is very light. Tony’s Pinocchio Village Haus Two words: Vegan Pizza. While the overall quality of the quick service offerings at this Fantasyland restaurant has varied over the years — specifically, some of the seasonal offerings have been surprisingly good — the Plant-Based “Cheese” Pizza is not something we’re rushing to have again. It is great to have a plant-based pizza option for sure, we just wish it was a bit better. Plant-based “Cheese” Pizza Quick Service Burgers Obviously, burgers are a go-to food offering for a reason, as they’re easy to grab and convenient to munch on in a theme park. However, the Magic Kingdom’s quick service burgers leave a lot to be desired overall. They’re often under-seasoned and usually dry in our experience. Don’t expect any color! We avoid these Magic Kingdom meals any chance we get. Stay tuned to DFB for more hot Disney World takes. Seriously, WHY Do These 3 Things Even Exist at Disney World?! Which Magic Kingdom meals do you avoid at all costs? Let us know in the comments below. The post 4 Magic Kingdom Meals We Avoid at All Costs first appeared on the disney food blog. 15. We’ve been known to host a pity party, a sobfest, or a complete crashout a time or two in Disney World. Disney’s Hollywood Studios When things aren’t going your way and the entire world seems to be against you (Disney World, that is) on vacation, it’s inevitable that there will be some tears amongst your travel party. And if you just seriously need a place to cry it out, we’ve got you. We’ve made this list for Magic Kingdom and EPCOT, but now we present to you the best places to cry in Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Star Wars Launch Bay Kicking off the list, we’ve got to mention Star Wars Launch Bay, which is sadly closing for good on September 25th, 2025. Until then, you’ll be able to enter this exhibit/character meet area, where it’s dark, it’s air-conditioned, and benches abound. Sounds like a great place to explore your feelings. Star Wars Launch Bay It’s pretty easy to find a quiet bench tucked away in a corner where you can let out a few sobs and do so in relative privacy. The climate-controlled atmosphere doesn’t hurt, either. Tower of Terror What better place to cry than somewhere that’s already a little bit spooky? Tower of Terror is a great spot to host your next sobfest because there are plenty of places to sit near the ride’s exit, and it’s already fairly somber and gloomy back there. Hollywood Studios And if you’re a weenie about drop towers like I am? Well, then you might just be crying ON the ride as well. We’ve definitely witnessed that a time or two (or 20). Toy Story Mania Exit Another great secluded spot to have yourself a good cry is at the exit of Toy Story Mania. If you’ve ridden this attraction since Toy Story Land opened, then you know that the exit queue is LENGTHY, but thankfully, it’s lined with benches and shade. Toy Story Mania exit And in general, we’ve found that the people getting off the ride will mostly ignore you if you’re sitting on a bench in the exit area. There’s a little bit of anonymity in a crowd, after all. Let it all out, guys. The Hollywood Brown Derby Probably the best place to cry in style is at the Hollywood Brown Derby! This upscale sit-down restaurant has a delicious menu, a wide variety of beverages, and cozy seating. If you end up in a corner booth, you’ll even have some relative privacy. Hollywood Brown Derby Honestly, crying over a Cobb Salad doesn’t sound so bad, especially if we order dessert afterwards. Good food can cure many sorrows. In Front of the Former Muppets Courtyard Perhaps the most likely place you’ll be crying — if you’re a Disney Adult — is in front of the former Muppets Courtyard. WHY oh why did they have to get rid of our beloved Muppet*Vision 3D?! Muppets Courtyard behind walls Don’t worry, you’ll definitely be in good company crying over here, since quite a few Muppets fans are sad to see this area go. But while you stand there, maybe you can keep an eye on the construction for the new Monsters, Inc.-themed land. The Slinky Dog Dash Queue Last but not least, we know we’ve shed some tears in the Slinky Dog Dash queue before, ESPECIALLY when we were stuck in it for 2+ hours. This queue is cute, but dang is it hot, cramped, and uncomfortable! Certainly not a ride you want to be waiting for in the middle of a summer day. And don’t even get us started on the tears that’ll fall when you inevitably get told the ride is shutting down for weather issues…after you’ve already clocked 90 minutes in line. Slinky Dog Dash queue That’s our full list — now, whatever you do, DO NOT cry while sharing a table with strangers at Oga’s Cantina. Let’s not make things awkward, people. Keep following DFB for the latest tips for your Disney World vacation! We’ve got you covered with the latest. Click Here to See the List for EPCOT! Have you ever cried in these places? 16. Disney Cruise Line is getting bigger all the time, and it seems like Disney has been announcing a lot of new ships recently. ©Disney However, we’re really excited about the next ship to set sail in the Disney fleet, the Disney Destiny, which will make its maiden voyage on November 20th (which is coming up SOON). Now this ship, which is themed around heroes and villains, has reached a major milestone — the Disney Destiny has officially left the shipyard and floated out to the harbor. Float out is one of the biggest milestones in the construction of a ship, as well as a maritime tradition. It basically means that the ship is a step closer to setting sail for the very first time. And now the Disney Destiny has floated out into the harbor from the Meyer Werft Shipyard in Papenburg, Germany. ©Disney Hero Minnie was on hand to lead the ship, which has a stern featuring Spider-Man and his Spider Bots. This is the first time a Marvel character has ever been on the stern of a Disney Cruise ship, so that’s SUPER exciting. ©Disney The Disney Destiny will also feature a few other firsts. The very first The Lion King theatrical dining experience, Pride Lands: Feast of The Lion King, will be on board. A new Pirates of the Caribbean-inspired lounge, Cask and Cannon, will also be onboard. Cruella de Vil will get her very own piano bar, De Vil’s Piano Lounge. The first-ever Doctor Strange-themed lounge, the Sanctum, will be devoted to the mystical arts. Cocktails and glasses coming to De Vil’s The ship will also feature a brand new show exclusive to the ship, Disney Hercules — The Heroic New Musical. Two fan-favorite shows will also be available onboard: Frozen, A Musical Spectacular, and Disney Seas the Adventure. ©Disney We’ll be keeping an eye out for more Disney Destiny updates, so stay tuned to DFB for more. 18. EPCOT’s World Showcase is full of unique food, drinks, and experiences — but some of the “hacks” Disney adults swear by have officially crossed into over-the-top territory. EPCOT The idea of hacking your way through a Disney day is appealing. Who doesn’t want to save time, save energy, or score that perfect experience with just the right insider tip? The problem is, not all hacks age well — and some are actually making your trip more stressful instead of easier. We’ve seen a few EPCOT strategies that were once clever but have gotten… let’s just say a little out of hand. Here are the ones we think you might want to rethink. Pairing a Dining Reservation with a Nearby Lightning Lane This one sounds genius when you’re planning from home. “We’ll do our Lightning Lane for Frozen Ever After at 3:00, then we’ll walk right over to Chefs de France for our 3:30 reservation!” In theory, it’s efficient. In reality, Disney timing is rarely that tidy. Chefs de France Rides break down. Queues take longer than expected. Crowds slow you down. Before you know it, you’re power-walking across the park, hoping you make it within your dining reservation’s grace period. It’s stressful, and it can throw off the rest of your day. Give yourself more breathing room than you think you’ll need — future you will be grateful. Everyone in the Group Trying for the Same Dining Reservation It’s true that having multiple people search for Advance Dining Reservations at the same time can improve your odds. The problem is, we’ve seen it cause system glitches. Sometimes nobody ends up with the reservation because the system thinks you’re double-booking. ©Disney If you want to try this strategy, make sure only one person actually hits “confirm” once a slot pops up. Otherwise, you risk turning a promising hack into a frustrating miss. Drinking Around the World on the Last Day of Your Trip We’ve fallen for this one more than once. The idea is that you end your Disney vacation with an epic “drink around the world” sendoff. But the reality is… less glamorous. Ichigo Breeze Cocktail You’re already tired from the trip. You probably have packing and travel the next day. Adding a dozen drinks into the mix often leads to feeling rough on your flight home. We love drinking around the world on a regular EPCOT day, but doing it right before heading home is one hack we’re retiring for good. Staking Out the “Perfect” Fireworks Spot We get it. Luminous: The Symphony of Us is beautiful, and you want that prime viewing angle. But grabbing a spot an hour (or more) before the show means you’re spending a big chunk of your evening standing around. Luminous: The Symphony of US The lagoon is huge, and there are plenty of good sightlines that don’t require camping out like you’re waiting for concert tickets in 2002. Unless you’re going for a super-specific angle for photos or video, you can show up closer to showtime and still enjoy a great view — without losing all that park time. Eating All Your Festival Foods in One Go Planning your festival food crawl in advance sounds efficient. You map out the booths, decide what you’ll get, and even plan the order. The problem? Real life in EPCOT doesn’t follow spreadsheets. 2025 Trowel & Trellis Spread Weather, crowd patterns, and your appetite will shift throughout the day. By the time you get to stop number three, you might be too full to enjoy it — or you might be craving something totally different. Loosen your schedule and let your taste buds guide you in the moment. Lapping the World Showcase Twice in a Day This hack usually comes from the idea that you’ll “scout” the booths on the first loop, then go back for the ones you want. It’s smart in theory… but exhausting in practice. You’ll do a ton of walking around the World Showcase The World Showcase is deceptively large, and EPCOT is already one of Disney’s most walking-heavy parks. Doing two full loops adds thousands of steps, and by the second round, you might be dragging instead of savoring the day. If you want to scope things out first, try breaking it into halves instead of going for the double marathon. It’s a lot of steps around the World Showcase Some of these EPCOT hacks started out as smart ways to get more from your day, but once they became overused, they lost their magic. Sometimes, the best way to enjoy the World Showcase is to keep it simple, leave room for spontaneity, and skip the strategies that make your trip feel like a competitive sport. Don’t forget to follow DFB for more Disney tips and tricks. These Disney Adult Animal Kingdom Hacks Are Getting Out of Control What “hacks” do you think have officially gone too far in EPCOT? 21. For all its fun and pixie dust, even Disney World has its not-so-magical moments. We asked, and Disney Adults aren’t holding back about the eyesores they wish would disappear. Contemporary Resort In fact, when we asked Disney Adults to spill the tea on what they consider the most hideous things in the parks, past and present, they didn’t hold back. From resort architecture that feels more 1970s airport than fairy tale, to attractions that are underwhelming, these are the design missteps and visual nightmares that still make fans cringe. Disney’s Contemporary Resort For all its history and status as an opening-day icon, Disney’s Contemporary Resort doesn’t exactly win any beauty contests among Disney adults. One reader put it bluntly: “I know how iconic it is, but it’s so ugly and so loud.” With its stark, concrete-heavy exterior and the open atrium in the middle of the hotel filled with gift shops, Chef Mickey’s, and Contempo Cafe, it gives more “airport terminal” feel than a relaxing vacation escape. Did we mention the monorail that cuts right through it? Sure, it’s a piece of Disney history, but some fans think it’s long overdue for a visual glow-up. Disney’s Contemporary Resort Mission Space Mission: SPACE was supposed to be EPCOT’s thrilling answer to space exploration, but despite a facelift the exterior got a few years ago, it’s still struggling to win over fans. Many would argue the ride hasn’t aged well. Its aesthetic and design are very early 2000s, and the ride’s storyline of an astronaut training simulator doesn’t hold up well compared to the heavily themed and immersive rides, lands, and attractions that have come to dominate the theme park space over the last two decades. Mission Space Wonders of Life Pavilion Once a hub of futuristic fun and educational charm, the Wonders of Life Pavilion now feels more like a forgotten relic than a celebration of wellness and science. Tucked away in EPCOT, this golden dome has been sitting in limbo for years, a shell of what it used to be. Though Disney had originally wanted to turn it into the Play! pavilion, those plans have all but vanished over the last 5 years. What was once a vibrant corner of EPCOT is now a big “what’s going on here?” question mark. The Wonders of Life Pavilion Sorcerer’s Hat at Disney’s Hollywood Studios Now, this might stir the pot, but one reader shared that the Sorcerer’s Hat at Disney’s Hollywood Studios was an eyesore. They wrote, “Ruined the OG vibe of MGM,” while another reader said. “Was glad to see it go.” When it appeared in 2001, the Sorcerer’s Hat was meant to be a magical centerpiece. The hat awkwardly blocked the view of the park’s iconic Chinese Theater, disrupting the original symmetry and cinematic atmosphere that made the park special. It was removed in 2015; however, there is a new one coming back to the parks. The original Sorcerer Hat at Hollywood Studios The hat is coming to “The Magic of Disney Animation,” a new transformation at Star Wars: Launch Bay. This new space will invite guests to experience the magic of Disney animation through drawing classes, a playground inspired by Mary Blair’s concept art from Alice in Wonderland, and watch portraits come to life before their eyes. 23. We don’t want you to be caught off guard by closures at Disney World! It can be easy to lose track of all the closure announcements recently, but we are here to help! Disney’s Hollywood Studios We don’t want any disappointed kiddos (or adults) due to not knowing about a planned ride closure. Of course, you can’t anticipate ALL the closures, and you might run across unplanned closures during your Disney World vacation, but we want you to be as prepared as possible. Let’s take a look at what is scheduled to be closed this week! There is A LOT of planning that goes into a Disney World trip. We know how much work it is, and the anticipation of your upcoming trip can be so exciting. If you are heading to Disney World this week, we want to make sure you know about all the planned closures. Let’s take a look at the attractions and locations that will be closed this week, from August 9th through August 16th, at Disney World. Magic Kingdom A popular Tomorrowland attraction is now closed! Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin has closed for refurbishment as of August 4th, 2025, and isn’t expected to reopen until 2026. While the ride is closed, it will be getting some upgrades! Closed for Refurbishment Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin will be getting a new ride scene, new ride vehicles, a new character, and enhanced gameplay elements. Some of those gameplay elements include handheld blasters (soon you can shoot whenever you want!) and reactive targets. Liberty Square Riverboat and Tom Sawyer Island An iconic part of the Magic Kingdom is now permanently closed. As of July 7th, the Rivers of America, including the Liberty Square River Boat and Tom Sawyer Island, are closed for good to make way for the new Cars area, Piston Peak National Park. There are some construction walls up in the area now, and we have seen workers on Tom Sawyer Island. Rivers of America Piston Peak National Park will be replacing this area of Magic Kingdom, and construction is expected to begin in the area this year. Disney has not yet released an opening date for the new Cars area, but we do know that it will feature two brand-new attractions and will be themed to look like a National Park. EVERYONE STAY CALM! The First Signs Of Halloween Have Been Spotted In Magic Kingdom Big Thunder Mountain Railroad On January 6th, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad closed for an extended temporary closure. Big Thunder Mountain Railroad The “Wildest Ride in the Wilderness” will be closed for at least a year and will reopen sometime in 2026. The ride will be undergoing maintenance while it is closed. When it reopens, it will have some “new magic,” according to Disney. We can’t wait to see what changes will be coming to this ever-popular roller coaster! We have spotted some ride testing happening, which was very exciting, and a train car has arrived! It was still covered in a tarp, but it was exciting to see. Tortuga Tavern Tortuga Tavern is a seasonal restaurant in Magic Kingdom. It has been a bit since we saw it open. Most recently, it was used as a cookie location for Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party. Tortuga Tavern We had previously spotted shrubs around the restaurant as they worked on the flooring. However, all the shrubs have been taken down now. We don’t know exactly when/if this restaurant will reopen, but we will keep you updated if we learn more! You’ll See This New Disney Sweatshirt Everywhere in Magic Kingdom This Fall Disney’s Animal Kingdom It’s Tough to Be a Bug It’s Tough to Be a Bug is officially closed for good. This attraction in Disney’s Animal Kingdom once invited you to join the bug kingdom on an adventure. While the show didn’t usually make it to the top of favorite attractions in Disney World, it has now officially closed to make way for a new show. It’s Tough to Be a Bug is permanently closed It’s Tough to Be a Bug closed on March 17th. The show is permanently closed to make way for a brand-new show, “Zootopia: Better Zoogether!”, expected to debut in winter 2025. TriceraTop Spin, Chester & Hester’s Dinosaur Treasures, and Fossil Fun Games The first round of closures began in DinoLand U.S.A. on January 13th, 2025. TriceraTop Spin, Chester & Hester’s Dinosaur Treasures, and Fossil Fun Game were closed down, and construction has begun on the brand-new land themed to the Tropical Americas, Pueblo Esperanza. The walls have been up since the closure, and things have been disappearing from behind the walls. Almost everything has been taken down behind the walls, including the large green dinosaur. Pueblo Esperanza Construction It is definitely a sad sight, but we are also excited to see Pueblo Esperanza! DINOSAUR, Restaurantosaurus, the snack stands, and The Boneyard remain open. The Boneyard will be closing for good on September 2nd, 2025. Disney hasn’t announced an official closing date for the rest of DinoLand. However, they have announced that “2025 is your year to visit before it goes extinct!” Disney Files NEW Permit for Changes at DINOSAUR Ride in Animal Kingdom Disney’s Hollywood Studios Muppets Courtyard, including Muppet*Vision 3D, PizzeRizzo, and Mama Melrose’s Ristorante Italiano Muppet*Vision 3D AND PizzeRizzo closed on June 8th, and Muppets Courtyard has been walled off so construction can begin on the new Monsters, Inc. land. Mama Melrose’s Ristorante Italiano has been closed since May 11th. Muppets Courtyard behind walls Don’t worry, the Muppets won’t be missing from Disney’s Hollywood Studios forever. The Muppets will eventually be taking over Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster in 2026. NEWS: Disney Files Permit for “Site Modification” Changes at Hollywood Studios Disney Springs Starbucks on the West Side The Starbucks on the West Side of Disney Springs is temporarily closed for refurbishment. It closed on March 3rd, and it is expected to reopen in mid-summer. Starbucks is currently closed Have no fear, though — you can still get your Starbucks fix in Disney Springs! The Lost City of Cibola pool as well as the Casitas and Ranchos leisure pools, will still be available during the refurbishment of the Cabanas leisure pool. Jellyrolls — Disney’s BoardWalk Jellyrolls at Disney’s BoardWalk officially closed on April 19th, 2025. 24. It’s hard to believe that it’s almost time for the EPCOT Food and Wine Festival, but it’s coming up soon on August 28th. Chefs de France We are ready to dive into all the incredible food the festival always brings to the park, as well as check out the Eat to the Beat concert series. However, we were really surprised when Disney recently announced the return of a popular breakfast buffet for the festival in the France Pavilion. Well, we’re here to remind you about that buffet and let you know that reservations open SOON. As a special event during the EPCOT Food and Wine Festival, you’ll be able to book a breakfast buffet at Chefs de France where you can “Indulge in a traditional French breakfast experience that transports you straight to the cafés of Paris.” That breakfast includes all-you-care-to-enjoy pastries, croissants, baguettes (ALL THE BREAD, y’all), cheeses, meats, and more. You’ll be able to book reservations starting on August 12th. Croque Monseiurs in 2019 at the breakfast buffet We haven’t seen this buffet since 2019, and when we went to it then, we really loved it. The food is fantastic, and it’s a great value at $64.95 per person. Now, it’s only available on Fridays and Saturdays during the festival from 9 AM through 10:30 AM, so you’ll need to keep that in mind. Palmier Pastry at Chefs de France Breakfast We will warn you, though…if you’re planning on eating at the festival food booths and you book this breakfast, you might fill up so much that you won’t WANT to check out the food booths. So this could be a good thing to book on an extra EPCOT day you might have in your trip. Or you could just pace yourself at the buffet (trust me, this is easier said than done).
