With a roster of nearly 30 hotels, there’s arguably a stay for every kind of traveler on Walt Disney World property. However, some of the resorts could use a bit of TLC. Dalmatians section Over my 30 years visiting Disney World, I’ve spent a significant amount of time at each of these properties, which run the gamut of Disney’s hotel tiers, from Value through Moderate, all the way to the Deluxe level. All-Star Movies While arguably all three of the Disney All-Star hotels could use a shot of life, there’s no more than All-Star Movies. The resort is built around five Disney properties: Toy Story, Fantasia, Herbie the Lovebug, 101 Dalmatians, and the Mighty Ducks franchise. While the first two are still quite relevant, the latter three are, to be blunt, not. Herbie While we love somewhat obscure Disney, they’re not the best choice for a massive hotel geared at families with young kids. This is especially true for All-Star Movies, since another Value Tier resort — the Art of Animation Resort — has a similar theme, only with films much more relevant to viewers born this century. Art of Animation The Caribbean Beach Resort Disney’s first moderate resort opened in 1988, and it shows. Now, don’t get me wrong, the hotel is kept up well and certainly feels well-maintained, but the overall vibe retains a very late ’80s feel. Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort However, the bigger issue is the hotel’s layout. It’s a large property with infrastructure that can be tough to navigate, and which can feel desolate in certain areas. Caribbean Beach Resort The Boardwalk Finally, there’s the Deluxe entry on the list: The Boardwalk. Accommodation-wise, this Deluxe Resort is one of Disney World’s best; however, the area that could use a bit of life is its literal Boardwalk. The closure of the dueling-piano bar JellyRolls has left a gaping hole in this area’s nighttime entertainment offerings. Until and unless a new venue opens, the area is going to feel a bit lifeless after dark. Jellyrolls Each of these Walt Disney World hotels could use an infusion of new life ASAP! If you’ve been dreaming of a Disney World getaway without wrecking your bank account, you’ll want to hear this. Animal Kingdom Lodge Disney has just dropped an exclusive hotel deal for Florida and Georgia residents, and we’re talking rates as low as $129 a night. That’s right — you can stay on Disney property, get all the perks, and still have plenty of cash left for snacks, merch, and maybe a DOLE Whip (or three). We’ve got the full details on when, where, and how to lock this in so you can make the most of it before the clock runs out. Here’s the Deal If you live in Florida or Georgia, you can save up to 35% on rooms at select Disney Resorts Collection hotels when you stay four or more consecutive nights from August 1st through October 11th, 2025. Shorter stays still get a discount, just not quite as steep — but it’s still worth it. Bay Lake Tower at the Contemporary Resort That means you could grab a Value Resort for as low as $129 a night (depending on the dates and hotel you choose), or go for a Deluxe stay at a fraction of the usual price. The catch? You’ve got to act fast and meet a few requirements, like having your billing address in Florida or Georgia and booking before the offer disappears. Why Staying on Property Matters Sure, you can stay off-site and sometimes pay less, but staying in a Disney Resorts Collection hotel comes with some major perks: Art of Animation You’re surrounded by that over-the-top Disney theming 24/7. Complimentary Disney transportation to and from the parks. Early theme park entry every day. Extra resort activities, pools, dining, and legendary Disney service. Early entry sign! And if you’ve ever tried to hop in your car after a long park day vs. catching a quick Disney bus? You know the difference is priceless. The Savings Breakdown Disney’s sorted the discount into three tiers depending on where you stay and how long. Here’s the quick rundown: Save up to 35% For stays of 4+ nights (up to 30% for shorter stays) at: Bay Lake Tower at Disney’s Contemporary Resort Boulder Ridge Villas at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge The Cabins at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort (DVC) Copper Creek Villas & Cabins at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge Disney’s Animal Kingdom Villas – Kidani Village Disney’s Beach Club Resort & Villas Disney’s BoardWalk Inn & Villas Disney’s Contemporary Resort Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort – King Bed Rooms Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa & Villas Disney’s Old Key West Resort Disney’s Port Orleans Resort – Riverside Disney’s Riviera Resort Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa Disney’s Wilderness Lodge Disney’s Yacht Club Resort Save up to 30% For stays of 4+ nights (up to 25% for shorter stays) at: Disney’s All-Star Sports Resort Disney’s Animal Kingdom Villas – Jambo House Disney’s Art of Animation Resort – Family Suites Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort & Villas & Bungalows Disney’s Port Orleans Resort – French Quarter Save up to 25% For stays of 4+ nights (up to 20% for shorter stays) at: The Campsites at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort Disney’s All-Star Music Resort Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort Disney’s Pop Century Resort How to Book You can book online through Disney’s official site or by calling (407) 939-5277 to speak with a vacation planning expert. A travel agent can also handle it for you if you want someone else to do the legwork. Disney’s Coronado Springs Important fine print: This offer can’t be combined with other discounts. Certain room types are excluded (like Bungalows at the Polynesian and 3-Bedroom Grand Villas). Extra adult charges apply if more than 2 adults stay in Value, Moderate, or Deluxe Studios. Your payment method must have a Florida or Georgia billing address. Theme park admission is not included, and depending on your ticket type, theme park reservations may still be required. Tips for Making the Most of This Deal If you’re planning to go for four nights or longer, you’ll get the biggest percentage off. But even a shorter stay could make sense if you’re eyeing a Value Resort rate like $129 — that’s cheaper than some off-site hotels with far fewer perks. Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort Want to stretch your savings even further? Book weekdays instead of weekends when possible. Choose dates in late August or September when crowds are lower. If you’re not tied to one specific hotel, price out a few to see which tier gives you the best deal for your budget. Our Take Disney hotel rates can be intimidating, but this is one of those rare times where residents get a serious leg up. If you’re local (or close enough to count), it’s worth booking a quick staycation or turning your usual park day trip into a mini vacation. Even if you’ve been holding off because of prices, this offer makes Deluxe resorts a little more realistic and Value resorts an absolute steal. Just remember to book before the window closes — these promos don’t stick around forever. Stay tuned to DFB for even more discounts for your Disney World vacation! When it comes to dining in Disney World, Disney Springs is an amazing place to start! Salt and Straw! It’s Disney’s shopping and dining district with tons of spots for dining and entertainment, all without a park ticket. One of the best spots to grab a unique sweet treat at Disney Springs is Salt and Straw! Each experience at this spot surprises us, so we’re bringing you along with us to test out this month’s limited-time flavors. Salt and Straw in Disney Springs is known for its sweet, cold treats that might actually shock you! It has flavors like the Strawberry Honey Balsamic with Black Pepper, Salty Donut Guava + Cheese, and Arbequina Olive Oil. (Don’t be confused, we’re still talking ice cream!) Salt and Straw! This spot also has rotating flavors each month, and in August 2025, you can find 5 different flavors in The Farmer’s Market Series. Chocolate Chip Zucchini Bread Decadent chunks of chocolate zucchini bread stirred into gently spiced chocolate chip ice cream Tomato Gelato with Olive Brittle Crushed tomatoes, Arbequina olive oil, and lemon zest come together in a vibrant gelato, studded with bits of black olive brittle Melon and Prosciutto Fresh cantaloupe and candied prosciutto ice creams swirled together, inspired by the classic Italian pairing Peach Jam Miso Blondies Hunks of miso butterscotch blondies folded into toasted coconut cream, ribboned with peach basil jam Pickled Cucumber Sorbet Grillo’s pickle brine, fresh puréed cucumber, and a fragrant bouquet of dill blended into a refreshing summertime sorbet The Farmers Market With flavors like that, you know we had to put them to the test! For the Chocolate Chip Zucchini Bread, it was probably the most tame of the flavors. The main flavors were chocolate chip, but the zucchini bread didn’t necessarily taste like zucchini bread. It reminded us of a pumpkin bread with warm spices. We also loved the Tomato Gelato with Olive Oil Brittle! Stay with us here, but it reminded us of a liquid ketchup. It has a savory, salty tomato taste mixed with the olive oil and a hint of lemon zest. Have some! It’s thin and creamy but with chunks of olive brittle, which makes it sweet and salty. It reminded us of a honey brittle with tomato, which made for some really unique flavors. Is it fair to say we were shocked that we also loved the Melon and Prosciutto! It had a strong cantaloupe flavor swirled with a salty prosciutto ice cream to make a nice Italian flavor. (Anyone else craving the Melon and Prosciutto pizza from Via Napoli now?) The combination was amazing and felt like a brunch offering in a fun, weird way. A scoop! Cast Members at this spot shared that the Peach Jam Miso Blondies flavor has been a big hit with customers, and we can see why! It reminded us of a peach cobbler, and we can see people who love jam being big fans of this. The blondies are nutty and buttery, making the ice cream salty. We’re noticing a pattern here, and we aren’t mad about it. So much flavor! Finally, we tested out the Pickled Cucumber Sorbet. This one was more icy than creamy, which was a departure from the previous flavors. It really reminded us of frozen pickle juice, which could be pretty polarizing. It was briney and made us feel like we peeled a pickle off of a sandwich and bit it. It was refreshing, but if you don’t like pickles, don’t even try it with this one. If you’re pregnant and have a pickle craving, though, this will knock your socks off. Inside Salt and Straw Salt and Straw continues to surprise us each time we stop by in the best ways! When you’re in Disney World, there are a lot of problems that can happen that you may not expect. On the very top of that list is getting sick or injured, and both have happened to us in the parks before! Magic Kingdom It’s never fun — you want to have the best time on your vacation, but sickness and injury can come when you least expect them. Members of our team have had multiple occasions that we’ve been faced with less than ideal situations on vacation, and we’ve learned a lot from it (me personally, I’ve had a low blood sugar episode in the middle of the night, I’ve vowed to do everything in my power to never repeat). Recently, we experienced “Disney Rash” (yes, it’s a real thing), and it is NO joke. What is Disney Rash, you may ask? Well, it’s a seemingly random rash that normally appears on people’s legs, but can also be on arms and other parts of the body. It comes out of nowhere for many people, and it usually looks like red, purple, or brown spots/blotches on the skin. While some people don’t feel any pain with it, others experience burning pain, itching, and/or swelling. Overall, not something you want to deal with on your trip. Millennium Falcon It’s not contagious, and you don’t get it from rides or by touching anything that’s contaminated with something. Disney Rash is actually a form of exercise-induced vasculitis, which means all that walking you’re doing around the parks in the hot and humid climate? Yep, that’s what causes it. Hi, Smee! How can you avoid it? It’s fairly simple in words, but actually remembering to DO it in Disney World is hard. You need to stay hydrated and take lots of breaks, especially in the AC. That’s easier said than done, because when you’re in the parks, you’re running around from attraction to attraction and wanting to make the most of your day, but we’ll be the first to tell you that if you don’t take those breaks and develop your Disney Rash, walking around will be PAINFUL and your body will force you to rest. Magic Kingdom If you do wind up with Disney Rash, elevating your legs and using cool compresses can help reduce the inflammation. However, if you’re in some pretty intense pain or find yourself sick or injured in another way, you can head to the first aid locations that are in each Disney World park. Look out for first aid locations in the parks! You can also get a doctor’s appointment without needing to leave your hotel room through AdventHealth in the My Disney Experience App! No one ever wants to get sick in Disney World, but knowing how to take care of yourself if it does happen is VERY important. International travel can be scary and intimidating, but we’re doing our best to ease those fears and help you travel with the utmost confidence! UK Pavilion We’re not gonna lie — the internet scared us big time about potential pickpocketing happening in Europe. However, we always try to face our fears head-on, so during a recent visit to Europe, one of our reporters tested out some anti-theft products, and we’re recommending our favorites! DISCLOSURE: This post may contain affiliate links, meaning when you click the links and make a purchase, we receive a commission. During her European adventures, our reporter tried three different products, and we’re telling you all about ’em! This Sling Bag Keeps Necessities Safe And Secure ©Amazon The Pacsafe Vibe 150 Sling Pack is a reliable hands-free bag that’s great for travel. It holds up to 2.5 liters — not too big, not too small, and comfortable to wear all day. You also get an added sense of security thanks to the interlocking zippers. BUY ON AMAZON Add Extra Security With These Accessories ©Amazon These S-Biner MicroLocks can secure your keys and zippers while you’re out and about. Our reporter used them on her purse by clipping them to two zipper pulls so a pickpocket couldn’t unzip her bag. These clips are super sturdy and are made with stainless steel, creating tons of resistance that is hard to break through. BUY ON AMAZON This Bag Can Surprisingly Hold So Many Essentials! ©URBN US Retail This Idle Hands Sling from Free People is available online in several different colors and was PERFECT for our reporter’s travels! Traveling to the Disney parks can be stressful, especially when you’re deciding what to wear! I packed my favorite travel pants for Disneyland! I’ve been there loads of times. When it’s hot, you want something that will keep you cool, but also be comfortable to wear, and something you won’t regret wearing halfway through the day. I know a lot of people out there prefer to wear pants over shorts, even during the summer, and I totally get that. If you’ve been looking for a new travel outfit essential that’s perfect for nearly any occasion, look no further than these pants I got on Amazon for just $26! DISCLOSURE: This post may contain affiliate links, meaning when you click the links and make a purchase, we receive a commission. These Lepunuo Wide Leg Pants Are My Obsession! ©Amazon The Lepunuo Wide Leg Pants are under $30 on Amazon, and ever since I’ve bought them, I’ve brought them on almost every trip. My requirements for travel wardrobe are that my items are neutral so I can mix and match, they’re comfortable for long days, and I want to be able to wash and tumble dry them with no chance of wrinkles. These pants fit all those criteria, plus they’re lightweight (which also means they fold down very small!) and dry quickly, in case I get caught in the rain. The paper bag waist is flattering on lots of body types, including my plus-size body. You can dress them up or down, and there are lots of colors and prints available. I personally own these in black and khaki, and I have two pairs of each (four total), so that I always have one clean. ©Amazon Another one of my coworkers also owns these, and she says they keep her cool when it’s hot, and block a breeze when the temperature drops. They’re flowy enough to pass for a skirt, but they have pockets and zero maintenance, and they’re so comfy they could pass for pajamas, which I totally agree with! She also added in that she’s not someone who really enjoys “getting ready,” but she’s gotten tons of compliments from people who put lots of effort into their outfits, and that says something for sure! Grab them here! Same Style, Slightly Lower Price ©Amazon If you’re looking for something similar but want a bit of a lower price, check out the OLRIK Women’s Plus Size Pants! These are very close in style, including the same type of tie around the waist. These pants come in over 20 colors and patterns, which means they can go with almost everything! Grab them here! We can’t recommend these enough, and if you choose to grab them, we hope you love them as much as we do! Be sure to stay tuned to DFB for all the latest recommendations and more! Every wish is special, and this one marked a huge milestone…the 170,000th Disney wish, on Disneyland’s 70th anniversary. There’s no more fitting way to celebrate Disneyland’s 70th anniversary than seeing a wish come true! While undergoing treatment for leukemia, 13-year-old Madison (Maddie) read The Imagineering Story and watched Behind the Attraction on Disney+. This inspired her wish: to meet the Imagineers who bring the parks to life, and one day become an Imagineer herself. What Maddie didn’t know was that her wish would be the 170,000th Disney wish granted with Make-A-Wish… just in time for Disneyland’s 70th anniversary. To share this momentous occasion, Make-A-Wish America President and CEO Leslie Motter and Disney Experiences Chairman Josh D’Amaro met with Maddie at Walt Disney Imagineering headquarters and surprised her with the news and a plaque commemorating her milestone wish. After the momentous kick-off, Maddie and her family received a full tour and VIP treatment, including meeting with Imagineers who work on ride technology, Audio-Animatronics figures, Disney Live Entertainment, and many other disciplines. She also got an exclusive viewing of historical sketches, artwork and archives at the Imagineering Resource Center before wrapping up the day meeting none other than Baby Groot! One of Maddie’s favorite moments of the day was a Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance panel hosted by five Imagineers that worked on the attraction: Asa Kalama, John Larena, Greg Johnson, Ugo Okwumabua, and Chris Mais. Madison learned about the creation of the attraction, the technology that brings the entire experience together and other behind-the-scenes tidbits. As an aspiring future mechanical or electrical engineer (not to mention a huge Star Wars fan), this experience, alongside her visit with Imagineers inside our Ride Studio, were true highlights of Day 1. Day 2 began with a bang… or, rather, a rev of the engine! Maddie and her family were up bright and early to meet Imagineer Emily (Emo) O’Brien, who was the principal interior designer for Cars Land at Disney California Adventure Park for a walkthrough of Radiator Springs Racers, the attraction Maddie was most excited to experience at Disneyland Resort! From there, Maddie headed to Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, where Josh and Thomas Mazloum, Disneyland Resort President, brought along a few unexpected friends… Oskar and Red, two of the BDX Droids! Madison later had the chance to ride Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance with two of the Imagineers she met at the panel the previous day, and Imagineer Nick Ross, former project manager for Milennium Falcon: Smugglers Run. Day 2 wrapped with Madison participating in The Celebrate Happy Cavalcade, where she was honored as Disney’s 170,000th wish kid! The final moment culminated in a tour of Walt’s apartment – leaving the family to enjoy an evening of 70th Anniversary parades and spectaculars. Before beginning her wish trip, Maddie shared with us that she hoped to meet as many Imagineers as possible and ask them to sign her copy of The Imagineering Story by Leslie Iwerks, a book about the history of Imagineers that she read throughout treatment. Imagineers were definitely up for the challenge and came together to execute tenfold. Throughout her two-day visit, Maddie not only had her book signed by each Imagineer she got to meet throughout her time at Imagineering and Disneyland, but Imagineers from both the Glendale and Anaheim campuses each compiled an additional autograph book full of well wishes, notes of inspiration, sketches, signatures and more. To top it all off, Leslie Iwerks herself met with Maddie in Cars Land on the second day of her wish to say hello and sign the cover of Maddie’s copy of The Imagineering Story. Disney is proud to be the world’s largest wish granter for Make-A-Wish, granting a wish every hour of every day. Since the very first official wish was granted at Disneyland Resort nearly 45 years ago, Disney has now helped fulfill 170,000 wishes globally with Make-A-Wish, delivering happiness when it’s needed most to wish kids and their families around the world. We are thrilled to continue making wishes like Madison’s come true. If you’ve wandered down the candy aisle at Walgreens in the past year, you might have noticed the rise of peelable gummies. They went viral last year in fun flavors like banana and mango — the kind of quirky, gimmicky candy you can imagine a kid peeling apart with sticky fingers before popping it in their mouth. You know this went into my cart immediately. Well, Walgreens has decided to keep the trend rolling… and maybe push it off a cliff. On a recent trip to a Walgreens in Florida, I spotted a display of peelable gummies in all kinds of flavors: lychee, kiwi, cotton candy, pumpkin (because of course), and — the one that made me stop in my tracks — sweet potato. Three small bags for $5. Naturally, I had to try the sweet potato. Here’s the thing: I love candy. Nerds Gummy Clusters could honestly be the key to my heart. But I’ve never fully understood the point of peeling a gummy. You eat the peel and the inside anyway, so why slow things down? Plus, I’m not a fan of getting my hands all over candy before eating it. Usually I skip the peel step entirely. Sweet potato in gummy form? Ummm, we’re taking this a little too far. The sweet potato gummies looked pretty enough — purple on the outside, orange on the inside, giving them a trendy ube vibe. But the moment I opened the bag, I knew I was in trouble. The smell? Like Thanksgiving sweet potato casserole… if it had been made in a chemistry lab. The taste confirmed my fears. Imagine brown sugar, cinnamon, and sweet potato flavoring — but artificial in a way that even pumpkin spice haters would find excessive — layered onto a chewy gummy texture. It just didn’t work. Speaking of pumpkin, I tried that one too. Same problem: overly artificial fall spice plus gummy chew equals no thanks. Some flavors just don’t belong in gummy form, and for me, sweet potato is at the top of that list. And gummy pumpkin? Walgreens, I see what you’re doing here — riding the wave of a viral candy trend. But this? This is not it. Stick to the fruity peelables, and leave Thanksgiving flavors to pie where they belong. Disney Just Released a Trash Can Full of Candy — and We’re Obsessed Keep following us here at DFB for more food news! Have you tried any — ahem — unusual gummy candy flavors? For decades, filmmakers and Imagineers have worked together to perfect the art of taking the company’s iconic characters and stories beyond the silver screen. Major acquisitions like Pixar (2006), Marvel Studios (2009) and Lucasfilm (2012) have spurred even more opportunities to deliver classic and new stories to fans in incredible ways. As new stories are created and films produced, Disney teams around the globe come together to bring those stories to life. The years or months long process often culminates with the collective story and experience hitting theaters, the parks, cruises and products on the same day — giving fans a multitude of ways to be part of the story. This is connective storytelling that only Disney can create. Marvel Studios’ The Fantastic Four: First Steps is no exception. For a limited time, guests may encounter The Thing, Mister Fantastic, the Invisible Woman, or the Human Torch from The Fantastic Four as they make select appearances outside the Tomorrowland Theater in Disneyland Park in Anaheim, Calif. Beginning with the film’s release in July 2025, Disneyland Park guests have stepped into the 1960s-inspired, retro-futuristic world to meet Mister Fantastic, Invisible Woman, Human Torch, and The Thing, along with their robot assistant H.E.R.B.I.E. Guests at Hong Kong Disneyland Resort and Disneyland Paris also can see members of Marvel’s first family. We spoke to David Lightbody, who heads up Disney Live Entertainment, and Kyle Laughlin, leader of Walt Disney Imagineering Research & Development (R&D), about how teams across the company came together to take The Fantastic Four: First Steps from the big screen to the parks. How early do park teams begin to work with filmmakers to bring the characters to these parks day and date with the movie premiere? Lightbody: It’s incredibly exciting to collaborate with the filmmakers to bring to life the stories and characters they create for the big screen in our parks. We partner with them early on, while they are still in development or in production, to ensure we can deliver the most authentic guest experience that translates from the set to the parks. As is often the case, Imagineers and Disney Live Entertainment cast members got the chance to visit the set of the film to get a feel for the environments, sets, props, and more, providing amazing inspiration to design and create experiences true to the source material. What is the most important factor in creating a seamless transition from the big screen to the parks? Lightbody: The partnership with the filmmakers is so key, as we want guests to have similar emotions with the parks experience as they do when they see the film — through the story, characters, themes, or even music. With The Fantastic Four: First Steps, we had the opportunity to lean into all of these with these parks’ experiences. For example: in Disneyland and Hong Kong Disneyland it was essential to bring these characters to Tomorrowland, which felt more in line with the design and aesthetic of the film. Music plays such an important role in our experiences, and Michael Giacchino’s score for this film is the perfect fit for our parks and experiences worldwide. For a limited time, guests may encounter H.E.R.B.I.E., the Fantastic Four’s faithful robot assistant, outside the Tomorrowland Theater in Disneyland Park in Anaheim, Calif. What did it take to bring H.E.R.B.I.E. to life? Laughlin: Just like in the film, H.E.R.B.I.E. started as an experiment — only this time, the experiment was ours. The R&D team jumped at the chance to bring this character to life using the latest in robotic self-balancing technology. We collaborated closely with the film’s design team to make sure every detail translated from screen to real-world and even partnered with the original voice talent to keep things as true to character as possible. What’s wild is how quickly it all came together — from concept to park-ready in just 90 days. Fastest we’ve ever done it. And honestly, seeing H.E.R.B.I.E. roll through the parks in real life? It’s just plain cool. How many cast members did it take to bring The Fantastic Four: First Steps to life in these parks? Laughlin: It was an amazing collaboration across Disney Experiences to bring these characters and experiences to Disneyland Resort, Disneyland Paris, Hong Kong Disneyland, and Disney Cruise Line. So many talented individuals joined together from Walt Disney Imagineering, WDI R&D, Disney Live Entertainment, Operations, Food & Beverage, Merchandise, and Disney Photo Imaging to create these experiences for our guests, and we have amazing partnerships with our marketing and synergy teams across the company. So, it would not be an exaggeration to say that hundreds of people had a part in this incredible effort. For more details on all the ways to see Fantastic Four heroes in our parks, see the Disney Parks Blog story. For a limited time, guests may encounter The Thing from The Fantastic Four as he makes appearances outside the Tomorrowland Theater in Disneyland Park in Anaheim, Calif. The post From the Big Screen to the Parks: ‘The Fantastic Four: First Steps’ appeared first on Disney Experiences. If you’re traveling to the United States, you will now have to pay a “visa integrity fee”. Grab your passport! This new fee applies to all visitors who need nonimmigrant visas to enter the country. There is a possibility that travelers can get the fee reimbursed; however, the $250 fee cannot be waived beforehand. According to CNBC, a $250 fee is about to hit travelers. The new visa integrity fee has been detailed in a provision of the recently enacted One Big Beautiful Bill Act. Do you travel often? The details about the new fee are few and far between. A spokesperson from the U.S. Travel Association stated that the lack of details has led to “significant challenges and unanswered questions regarding implementation.” There are details that are known, like the cost of the fee. It will be at least $250 in the 2025 fiscal year, which ends on September 30th, 2025. Air travel The secretary of Homeland Security is able to set the fee higher after the fiscal year ends, meaning the visa integrity fee can and most likely will be adjusted for inflation. In addition to the price, we know that the fee applies to “all visitors who need nonimmigrant visas, which includes tourists, business travelers, and international students.” Under the Visa Waiver Program, some visitors from locations including Australia, Japan, and many nations in Europe might not need visas. Orlando International Airport The fee will need to be paid when your visa is issued, and anyone whose visa request is denied will not need to pay the $250. The bill provision also clarified that this new fee is in addition to your other visa fees. It will also need to be paid in addition to the “Form I-94 fee.” That fee has increased from $6 to $24, also thanks to the One Big Beautiful Bill Act. The Form I-94 fee will need to be paid “by anyone who is required to submit a Form I-94 arrival and departure record, which applies to most travelers.” Window seat If you are looking to get reimbursed for the visa integrity fee, any visa holders will need to stick to the conditions of the visa. That will include things like “not accepting unauthorized employment” and “not overstaying the visa validity date by more than five days.” Travelers will be reimbursed after the travel visa expires. Orlando International Airport At the time of writing, the fee hasn’t been implemented, and it isn’t clear when it will be. The U.S. Travel Association also stated it is unclear how travelers will pay the $250. A spokesperson for the association said, “The bill directs the DHS Secretary to charge the fee, but DHS does not own the visa application, issuance, or renewal process — so where and when would DHS collect the fee?” Orlando International Airport A Department of Homeland Security spokesperson stated, “The visa integrity fee requires cross-agency coordination before implementation.” Several types of visas are applicable for several years, so it is assumed many people will not seek reimbursement. A spokesperson for the U.S. Congressional Budget Office stated the “CBO expects that the Department of State would need several years to implement a process for providing reimbursements. On that basis, CBO estimates that enacting the provision would increase revenues and decrease the deficit by $28.9 billion over the 2025‑2034 period.” MCO Airport The fee is intended to “restore integrity in our nation’s immigration system,” according to a spokesperson from the Department of Homeland Security. We are eager to see when the fee will be implemented and it the fee will cost more in 2026. Be sure to keep following DFB for more travel news and updates. 3 Things Airlines Wish You’d Stop Doing When You Travel to Disney World Will this new fee impact you? Tell us in the comments. We’re going to level with you — the amount of lies and ridiculous Disney conspiracies some folks believe is getting out of control. Magic Kingdom The Disney Parks — for as long as they have existed — have been subject to conspiracies, wild claims, and flat-out lies. Whether due to folklore, boredom, misunderstandings, or fibs told for the fun of it, Disney Adults have had enough and are calling out these lies and conspiracies. Going over every single Disney lie would take forever, but seven truly stand out, and we’re setting the record straight on these fallacies. 1. Walt Disney’s Frozen Head Is Stored In A Disney Park There have been several variations of the “Walt’s head is cryogenically frozen” lie. All of them are incorrect. ©Disney Whether it’s his whole body or just his head, the rumor that part of or all of Walt Disney is cryogenically frozen and stored either underneath Cinderella Castle in Magic Kingdom or somewhere in Disneyland is just absurd. When Walt Disney passed, his remains were cremated, and they now reside at a designated site in Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Glendale, California. His death certificate was signed by a licensed mortuary attendant, his family has verified his death, and his daughter, Diane, has even said, “There is absolutely no truth that my father, Walt Disney, wished to be frozen. I doubt that my father had ever heard of cryonics.” ©Disney Of course, people won’t let silly facts get in the way of a juicy rumor. In fact, just a few weeks after Walt’s death in 1966, a reporter for a tabloid claimed that he snuck into the hospital where Walt was being treated and claimed that he saw Walt in a cryogenic cylinder. Now, apparently, he’s just waiting for technology to catch up so he can be “defrosted”. However, we assure you that if you go hunting the Disney World utilidors (underground tunnels) for frozen heads, all you’ll find are storage spaces, break rooms, and other normal Disney means of operation. If you dig below Pirates of the Caribbean at Disneyland, you’ll be left disappointed when you don’t discover a secret chamber. 2. No One Dies At Disney There’s been a longstanding rumor that Disney doesn’t ALLOW guests to die on property at any of their resorts/parks. This has been factually disproven, but the rumor does make a little bit of sense. Expedition Everest The lie is that Disney has a secret policy where they declare people dead after they’re off-site. Unfortunately, people HAVE tragically died at both Disneyland and Disney World. Several accidents have happened over the decades, both including ride disasters and medical emergencies. Cast Members have been involved in fatal accidents as well. You might not hear about them nonstep because Disney has some great PR, but they’re still on the public record. Disneyland’s Rivers of America Many times, something will happen at the parks that causes someone to be declared deceased off-site, and in that case, sure, they didn’t technically die at Disney. But, it’s sad to say, there have been a number of fatalities that have happened on-site that are easy to look up with a quick Google search. 3. Turkey Legs Aren’t Made Of Turkey Alright, we’re not going to spend too much time on this one because it’s beyond ridiculous, but the notion that Disney’s turkey legs are actually emu because they’re so big is silly. Turkey Leg If you’re not familiar with turkeys, they can be very big — surprisingly so. This rumor probably started as a joke, but that’s all it is. It wouldn’t make sense for Disney to spend tons of resources on cooking up emu legs when turkey is a popular poultry that is easily accessible and a common delicacy. 4. One Of The Haunted Mansion Busts Is Modeled After Walt Ah, finally, a harmless fib! We make our way to the Haunted Mansion attraction at Disney World and Disneyland to settle a rumor. No, the Singing Bust in the graveyard scene that sort of looks like Walt is NOT modeled after him. Singing busts We admit, one of the Singing Busts (also known as the Mellomen) does have a striking resemblance to Walt, but it’s actually modeled after singer Thurl Ravenscroft! Ravenscroft is the well-known voice actor behind characters like the Frosted Flakes mascot, Tony the Tiger. He’s also behind the hit “You’re a Mean One, Mr. Grinch.” Haunted Mansion in Disneyland Another fun fact: you can hear him sing “Grim Grinning Ghosts” alongside the rest of the quartet! 5. The “Andy’s Coming” Trend Still Works A while back, a Disney trend went viral when Toy Story characters would drop to the ground and not move when someone yelled, “Andy’s coming!” However, this is no longer the case. Buzz Lightyear Referencing the movies’ plot point of the toys pretending to be inanimate in the presence of humans, this trend became too popular for its own good. Instead of it happening infrequently, everyone and their mother started shouting “Andy’s coming!”, creating an unsustainable workout for the characters. Woody and Jessie Disney had to make an official policy against the characters doing this, and now “Andy’s coming!” is a thing of the past. Lines Are Always Long For Everything We’re going to come to Disney’s defense in the next two points. Starting us off is the lie that the Disney Parks are packed without a moment’s peace — featuring long lines for EVERYTHING. Disney’s Hollywood Studios Yes, the Disney Parks are usually pretty packed, and it’s not hard to find long wait times. But visiting and finding short waits and not a ton of foot traffic is not exactly a miracle, either. Magic Kingdom There are tons of variables at play that could create short wait times. The date you visit matters (holidays, weekdays vs. weekends, month, events, etc., all influence park attendance). Weather matters (storms can scare away guests). Time of day matters (you might find short or no lines in the morning or late at night). It’s all about timing your visit to find optimal park attendance numbers — or simply getting lucky. 7. All Theme Park Food Is Bad Theme parks have a reputation for offering overpriced slop. And while we understand the stigma, the Disney Resorts certainly feature TONS of delicious meals, snacks, drinks, and desserts. Delicious! From the world-class restaurants at Disney World’s hotels, parks, and offerings at Disney Springs, to the consistently phenomenal eats at Disneyland, Disney features some of our favorite food in the ENTIRE WORLD! Santa Maria Grilled Tri Tip From fancy Michelin Star restaurants to affordable, yet tasty festival snacks, the Disney resorts have it all, and you’re likely to find something for every palate. Heading to Disney World this week? First of all, I’m jealous, and secondly, something strange is happening this week that I’ve rarely seen in the parks. Hollywood Studios Over in Disney’s Hollywood Studios, park hours are changing pretty drastically for one day this week. If you’re heading to the park this weekend, you need to pay VERY close attention to the park’s closing time, because it’s HOURS earlier than usual. August 16th is this coming Saturday, and instead of the park being open until 9 PM like normal, it’ll close early at 6 PM. While it’s not clear what the reasoning is for this closure, it’s possible it’s due to a private event or company renting out the park for a few hours. Hollywood Studios In other parks, we see early closing times due to parties like Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party and Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party, and we know we’ll see earlier closing times in DHS during the holiday season this year due to Jollywood Nights. Hollywood Studios So what should you do? Well, if you’ve got a Park Hopper ticket, we actually recommend heading over to Hollywood Studios on the 16th, because it’s likely the park will actually be less busy. Most people prefer to have a full day in the park, especially if they don’t have a Park Hopper ticket, so they’ll choose to visit a different park altogether on Saturday. Therefore, you and your Park Hopper ticket may actually get you shorter lines, less crowded areas, and an overall pretty awesome day in the park. If you’re headed to EPCOT soon, you need to know about this popular ride’s closure! EPCOT We’ve been going to Disney World on a daily basis for years, so closures are nothing new in our book. While they might not be new, they can mess up your vacation plans if they catch you off guard, so here’s your reminder about a big EPCOT closure starting soon. If you’re a fan of EPCOT classic attractions like us, Spaceship Earth is probably “a must-do” when you’re hitting the park. This ride is inside the park’s icon, and it’s the first ride many people hit up as soon as they’re in the park. Beginning on August 25th, the famous attraction is closing for refurbishment! Spaceship Earth This classic attraction will be closed for an undisclosed amount of time, but Disney did confirm the ride will open “later this year.” We’re hoping this closure won’t last too long, as fans of the attraction. We aren’t anticipating many major changes to the attraction outside of regular updates. Spaceship Earth! This ride closure joins many ongoing projects around Walt Disney World! Over in Magic Kingdom, Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin is closed until 2026 for major changes coming to the attraction. Magic Kingdom is also currently working on the addition of Piston Peak, which is a Cars-inspired land coming to the park. Piston Peak ©Disney In Hollywood Studios, Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster will be changing from Aerosmith to the Muppets in 2026! Disney hasn’t confirmed an official closing date for this popular coaster, but they did confirm the Muppets will be taking over next year. In the same park, they’re currently building Monsters, Inc. Land, which doesn’t have an opening timeline at the moment. ©Disney Finally, Animal Kingdom is the park that really kicked off all of the construction fun with the addition of Pueblo Esperanza! This new land is replacing DinoLand U.S.A. and will feature new rides inspired by Encanto and Indiana Jones. They’re also adding a brand-new Zootopia show, which is opening in Winter 2025. ©Disney || Tropical Americas Land coming to Animal Kingdom Luckily for us, the Spaceship Earth closure is only going to be for a limited time, and we aren’t losing another Disney World attraction permanently. As always, be sure to keep following DFB for more Disney updates and reminders. Ride, Restaurant, and Resort Closures and Construction at Walt Disney World When is your next Disney trip? August may seem like the most exciting month for Disney fans this year, and while I find that to be true as a lifelong Disney fan myself, September is also a busy time! Hollywood Studios Attractions are permanently closing, new experiences are opening, and you could miss Magic Kingdom fireworks if you don’t know about the latest update. I want you to have the best trip possible, so let’s get into the biggest changes hitting Disney World in September 2025! Heading to Disney World soon? Be sure to check out our planning worksheets. You can click the image below to get our list and make sure you don’t forget a thing! Here’s an overview of what you can look forward to in September at Disney World! Say Goodbye to The Boneyard The beginning of the month marks another permanent closure and another difficult goodbye. The Boneyard in DinoLand is officially closing on September 2nd! The Boneyard September 1st is the final day to take advantage of this paleontology-themed play area that has been popular with kiddos for years. It’s been open since the park opened in 1998, so it’s another tough one, even though it’s not a major attraction. The Boneyard But it’s out with the old and in with the new! The new Pueblo Esperanza land is set to open in 2027 with Encanto and Indiana Jones attractions, one of the largest quick-service restaurants in all of Disney World, and so much more. We’ll miss DinoLand, but honestly, I’m pumped to see the new area come together. Pueblo Esperanza Market Concept Art ©Disney For now, this area of the park will be a construction zone. Luckily, you have until 2026 to ride DINOSAUR, so be sure to pay Dr. Seeker and the Iguanadon a visit! Disney Is Building Pueblo Esperanza RIGHT NOW. Here’s What You Need to Know! Breakfast Buffet Returns to EPCOT’s Chefs de France! The EPCOT Food & Wine Festival kicks off on August 28th, but there’s something new coming soon! On September 5th, Chefs de France will begin offering an all-you-care-to-enjoy breakfast buffet with pastries, croissants, baguettes (SO. MANY. CARBS. ), cheeses, meats, and more on certain days. Hooray!!! Chefs de France We haven’t seen this buffet since 2019, and when we went to it then, we really loved it. The food is fantastic, and it’s a great value at $64.95 per person. It’s only available on Fridays and Saturdays during the festival from 9 AM through 10:30 AM, so you’ll need to keep that in mind for your planning. Palmier Pastry at Chefs de France Breakfast As of August 12th, reservations are open for this experience, and we expect them to fill up quickly since it is so limited. Want to learn everything about the festival this year? Check out our full Food & Wine Festival guidebook below! Everything You Need to Know About This Year’s EPCOT Food & Wine Festival Blizzard Beach Set to CLOSE Right now, something very rare is happening in Disney World. BOTH water parks are open at the same time! For the past few years, Typhoon Lagoon and Blizzard Beach played tag when it came to which park was open, and in September, this trend may return. Blizzard Beach Although no official closing date has been announced, hours are not showing for Blizzard Beach starting on September 8th. Based on what we’ve seen in the past, this is likely when the park will close for its annual refurbishment. Blizzard Beach Typhoon Lagoon still posts hours through September, so if you want to take advantage of the free check-in day water park perk, this is where you’ll get to enjoy that! Yes, on check-in day at your Disney World hotel, you can go visit the water parks for no extra cost! Learn all about that perk here. REVIEWS: What to Eat (And What to AVOID) at Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon Water Park Fireworks Change in Magic Kingdom Fireworks in Magic Kingdom are a quintessential part of any Disney World trip, but you could miss them entirely if you’re not paying close attention! That’s why I’m here — to let you know that Happily Ever After is changing its showtime in September! Happily Ever After fireworks in Magic Kingdom After switching to a 9:30 PM showtime on August 31st, the showtime will change to 9 PM on September 15th. As the sunset gets earlier, Disney will continue moving the fireworks time, so this makes sense with what we’ve seen in previous years. But if you didn’t know about this change, you would risk missing them! Believe me, you do NOT want to miss Happily Ever After. Crowds waiting for Happily Ever After Be sure to check the My Disney Experience app for the most up-to-date information. Sometimes, there are weird anomalies or weather that push the show, so it’s important to check on the day you hope to see the show, too. 3 Disney World Fireworks Rules You Should Break Permanent CLOSURE Hits Hollywood Studios In an announcement that even caught Disney experts by surprise, Disney revealed that Animation Courtyard (as we know it) would be closing in September. Yes, that’s right — ANOTHER closure! Animation Courtyard However, this makeover is one that Disney fans have been asking for. This quiet area in Hollywood Studios is turning into “The Walt Disney Studios,” and it will be taking inspiration from the Burbank area with special nods to the Walt Disney Studios Lot! Star Wars: Launch Bay will be turning into “The Magic of Disney Animation,” which is inspired by Walt Disney Animation Studios and will even feature Mickey’s famous Sorcerer Hat on top of the building. The new building will let you into the studio, “as the animators have temporarily stepped away,” and characters come to life and take over! This is heavily inspired by “Once Upon A Studio” and will even have moments where portraits come to life. Disney even teased that ” you’ll even pencil in some time to learn how to draw your very own character sketch.” ©Disney In addition to this overhaul, Disney is also adding a new “Drawn to Wonderland” playground inspired by Disney Legend Mary Blair’s concept art for Alice in Wonderland. This playground will be full of oversized flowers with musical instruments, a Mad Tea Party playset, and a Tulgey Wood exploration area! ©Disney While these are exciting changes for many, it does mean the closure of Animation Courtyard and Disney Jr. Play and Dance. These attractions will close on September 25th, making the 24th the last day. It’s also important to note that Disney Jr. Play and Dance changed to Get Animated! earlier this year, and Get Animated! has been extended through September 24th. That means Disney Jr. Play and Dance permanently closed earlier this year — we just didn’t know it yet. Disney Jr The Little Mermaid show will remain open during this time. The show received some major updates and opened in May. You know we’ll be keeping track of all the construction over here, so stay tuned for updates! SeaWorld Orlando is planning an “ultimate challenge,” inviting visitors to experience all eight of its roller coasters Saturday, which also is National Roller Coaster Day. SeaWorld is the city’s most coaster-heavy theme park, and its lineup ranges from Super Grover’s Box Car Derby (a junior coaster in Sesame Street Land) to Journey to Atlantis, a hybrid ride with both a splashdown and a coaster rail stretch, to Mako, the dramatic hypercoaster that is Orlando’s speediest, traveling up to 73 mph. The first 2,000 challenge participants will receive a lanyard for tracking their progress, and people who complete all eight coasters will receive a 2025 national Roller Coaster Day poster. There will be a check-in table near guest services at the front of the park on Saturday. Hours are 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. (Park hours Saturday are 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.) Other SeaWorld coasters include Manta, Kraken, Pipeline, Ice Breaker and Penguin Trek, which debuted last summer. The coasters all have height restrictions, and for half of them, riders must be at least 54 inches tall. In addition, SeaWorld Orlando pass members can get a behind-the-scenes tour of Kraken on Saturday. The floorless coaster is marking its 25th anniversary. Radiator Springs Racers Disney often closes rides temporarily for maintenance and routine refurbishments, and one of the most popular attractions at Disney California Adventure is about to close for an unknown amount of time. Here’s what you need to know about the upcoming closure of Radiator Springs Racers! Radiator Springs Racers at Cars Land will be temporarily closed starting August 18th, 2025, for a scheduled refurbishment, with no current reopening date from what we can see on the Disneyland calendar online. Radiator Springs Racers It looks like this ride will be undergoing some scheduled maintenance. Typically, Disney will temporarily close attractions in order to keep them running efficiently, but it does mean they may need to be closed for a while. As of now, it’s looking like this closure will last for at least one month. During the closure, crews will be resurfacing sections of the track to make the ride smoother than a fresh coat of paint — and it’s not just the pavement getting some polish. Guests might also experience improvements to audio, lighting, and behind-the-scenes tech that’ll help everything run more reliably when it reopens. Radiator Springs Racers And, while the rest of Cars Land will remain open during this closure, keep in mind that the shortcut between Cars Land and Avengers Campus is still blocked off due to construction on the upcoming Avengers attraction. That detour will remain in place through summer 2026, so plan your route accordingly. Cars Land in Disney California Adventure Don’t forget that over at Disneyland Park, the annual closure of the Haunted Mansion is taking place. It began on August 9th, 2o25, and will remain until August 22nd, when the ride reopens as the Haunted Mansion Holiday. Haunted Mansion Holiday We’ll be on the lookout for additional ride closures you need to know about at Disney California Adventure and beyond. Magic Kingdom just lost another Lightning Lane Multi Pass option, and it’s a big one. Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin Lightning Lane sign Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin has closed for an extended refurbishment, which means you now have ONE fewer skip-the-line option at this park. Between this closure and the ongoing Big Thunder Mountain Railroad refurb, the Magic Kingdom Lightning Lane Multi Pass list is shrinking fast. Let’s break down exactly what’s changed, what’s still available, and how you can adjust your park day strategy. What’s Going On with Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin? On August 4th, Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin officially shut down for a refurbishment that will last into 2026. That’s not a typo — you won’t be blasting away at Emperor Zurg again for quite a while. This is a pretty major change for Magic Kingdom because Buzz was one of the Tier 2 attractions available for Lightning Lane Multi Pass, giving guests an easy, mid-tier option to skip a line. It’s closed! The closure means one less choice for those lower-tier reservations, and when you combine that with Big Thunder Mountain Railroad’s absence from the Tier 1 list (also closed into 2026), the pool of attractions you can book ahead of time with Multi Pass just got smaller. Big Thunder Mountain Railroad If you’ve been in the parks lately, you know these small changes can totally shift how busy certain rides get. When one attraction is out of the mix, that demand has to go somewhere, and that “somewhere” is now going to be other rides on both the Tier 1 and Tier 2 lists. What is the Lightning Lane Multi Pass Again? If you’re new to all this, here’s the quick rundown. Lightning Lane Multi Pass is an optional, paid service available through the My Disney Experience app. It lets you reserve access to the Lightning Lane (that’s the skip-the-line queue) for multiple attractions in advance. You choose from two tiers of attractions in each park — one “big ticket” Tier 1 pick and two additional picks from the Tier 2 list. Lightning Lane at Seven Dwarfs Mine Train Think of it as the modern replacement for the old FastPass system, except now it costs extra and comes with more strategy involved in picking your lineup. What the Magic Kingdom Multi Pass List Looks Like Now With Buzz Lightyear out of commission, here’s what’s left. Tier 1 (choose ONE): Jungle Cruise Peter Pan’s Flight Space Mountain Tiana’s Bayou Adventure Tier 2 (choose TWO or more): The Barnstormer Dumbo the Flying Elephant Haunted Mansion “it’s a small world” Mad Tea Party The Magic Carpets of Aladdin The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh Mickey’s PhilharMagic Monsters, Inc. Laugh Floor Pirates of the Caribbean Tomorrowland Speedway Under the Sea – Journey of the Little Mermaid Pirates of the Caribbean Lightning Lane Normally, Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin would be on that Tier 2 list, giving you another solid choice in Tomorrowland that’s family-friendly and indoors (aka, air-conditioned bliss). Without it, that means more guests will likely head to Pirates, Haunted Mansion, or Pooh for their second-tier selections. How This Impacts Your Park Strategy The first and most obvious change: standby waits for some Tier 2 attractions are probably going to creep up. Haunted Mansion and Pirates are already high-demand rides in the summer, and losing Buzz is only going to make those lines longer. Lightning Lane for Laugh Floor If you’re building your Multi Pass plan, here’s what we recommend: Prioritize your Tier 2 picks carefully. If you want Haunted Mansion or Pirates, lock those in early before they’re gone. Don’t ignore the “kiddie” rides. Dumbo, Barnstormer, and Pooh can have deceptively long waits, especially mid-day. If you’re traveling with younger kids, these might be worth securing ahead of time. Think about location. With Buzz closed, there’s a gap in Tomorrowland Lightning Lane options. If you were planning a morning in Tomorrowland, expect to use standby for Space Mountain unless it’s your Tier 1 pick. What’s Coming to Buzz When It Reopens The closure isn’t just for a quick touch-up — this is a full refresh. When Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin reopens in 2026, you can expect: ©Disney A brand-new character, “Buddy,” to prep you for your mission. Updated interactive targets for more dynamic gameplay. Completely redesigned ride vehicles with colors inspired by Buzz and Star Command. Onboard video monitors to track your real-time score and give extra game features. Handheld blasters instead of fixed ones, making it easier to aim. The blasters will have an always-on laser and come in two colors so you can see exactly who’s hitting what. ©Disney That’s a lot of upgrades, so while the wait feels long now, it should definitely be worth it for Space Ranger fans. The Bigger Picture Magic Kingdom is in a season of big changes, with multiple headliner attractions down for extended periods. While some of these updates will bring exciting new experiences, the immediate effect is a tighter Multi Pass lineup and more competition for the best spots. If you’re heading to the park before 2026, you’ll want to: Get familiar with the current attraction lists. Be ready to adjust your touring plan based on what’s closed. Make your Lightning Lane Multi Pass selections as soon as your booking window opens. Everyone, stay calm! It’s finally spooky season in Walt Disney World! Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party kicks off this week on August 15th, with tons of new treats, live entertainment, and more! Over in Magic Kingdom, the Halloween decorations are appearing, and we are too excited that one of the best times of the year is finally here. Let’s check out all of the decor around the park! Can you hear us singing “This is Halloween” from where you’re sitting, because we are screaming it! We have been covering the Disney Parks for 15 years, and we don’t know if we’ve ever seen a Magic Kingdom “transformation” take quite this long. Last week, we noticed signs that the Halloween decor was drawing near at the TTC and Magic Kingdom, but the park hadn’t made the full transformation yet. The first sign of spooky season at the TTC! During our park walk today, Disney finally gave us what we have been begging for! At the beginning of Main Street, we spotted so many fall colored banners! Fall on City Hall! While we are pumped to see these banners, we can’t help but wonder where are the Mickey pumpkins?! Traditionally, Disney does an overnight flip when bringing in holiday decorations, but this year it seems like they’re taking it bit by bit. We love the Fall vibes! We won’t lie, our entire team was so sad when we didn’t spot a single Mickey Pumpkin in the park. Where are the pumpkins? We’re hoping maybe tomorrow is the day that the full transformation is completed. Banners on the train station While we are still waiting on a few familiar faces to pop up, we are so excited that Fall has finally arrived in any capacity. At the time of writing, there are also no Jack-O-Lanterns to welcome you at the ticket tap in before you enter the park or additional Pumpkin people on Main Street. Nothing to see here! Fingers crossed they appear before Mickey’s Not So Scary begins on August 15th. If you don’t know, Not-So-Scary is a special ticketed event that takes place in Magic Kingdom after the normal park hours. Mickey’s Not So Scary! You can expect to find lower crowds, rare characters, specialty snacks, and limited-time entertainment! Plus, it’s the only time adults can wear full costumes in Disney World! It runs on select nights from August 15th through October 31st. We have our costumes and tickets at the ready to check it all out later this week. 2024 Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party Map As always, be sure to keep following DFB for more Disney news and updates!
