  2. MagicBands can be confusing, and MagicBand+ adds a whole new layer of things to figure out. Tapping our MagicBand+! A lot of people stress over their MagicBand+ batteries running out in the parks, but here’s the thing: you might not need to panic at all. We’ve been hearing a lot of guests talk about their bands “not working” when the lights and vibrations stop, but that’s not actually the case. Let’s go over what your MagicBand+ can and can’t do once the battery dies so you don’t get caught making this very common mistake. Thinking Your MagicBand+ Won’t Work If the Battery Is Dead This is probably the biggest misunderstanding happening with MagicBand+. Guests assume that once the band dies, it stops doing everything. That’s simply not true. MagicBand+ Here’s the real scoop: when the battery is dead, you’ll lose the “plus” features of MagicBand+ like the lights, haptics (the little buzzes), and interactive elements with certain statues, fireworks, and shows. But the base functionality of the MagicBand still works, even without a charge. That means you can still use your MagicBand+ to: Tap into the parks at the entrance Scan into Lightning Lanes (if you bought them for an attraction) Unlock your Disney Resort hotel room door Charge purchases to your room (if you’re staying at a Disney Resort and have charging privileges) Your MagicBand+ will unlock effects around the park! So yes, your MagicBand+ might look like it’s “dead” when the lights don’t flash, but it’s still very much alive when it comes to the essentials. What Actually Stops Working It’s important to separate the extras from the must-haves. The features you lose with a dead MagicBand+ battery are all the newer, fun-but-not-essential ones. For example: No more glowing and vibrating along with nighttime shows like Happily Ever After or Fantasmic! No more interactions with the 50th Anniversary golden character statues across the parks No more lights or buzzes during rides like Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge experiences MagicBands+ In other words, the “show” side of MagicBand+ goes away once the battery runs out. But the utility side of your band is totally fine. Why People Keep Getting This Wrong It’s easy to see why so many guests misunderstand this. MagicBand+ is branded as an upgrade, and the lights and haptics are the most obvious differences from the original MagicBand. So when those stop working, it feels like the whole device is useless. Beauty and the Beast Sing Along The problem is that many people assume the MagicBand+ is just like a phone or smartwatch — if the battery dies, it can’t do anything. But that’s not how Disney designed it. The essential RFID chip (the part that connects to park systems like your park tickets and hotel room access) doesn’t rely on the rechargeable battery. That chip works even when the rechargeable part is drained. What You Should Actually Do If you’re worried about your MagicBand+ running out of juice, here are some tips to keep things stress-free: Charge Overnight: Just like your phone, plug in your MagicBand+ while you sleep. That way it’s fully charged for the morning. Bring the Charger: The charging cable is small and easy to toss in your bag. If you care about the lights and interactive features, you can recharge during a midday break. Don’t Panic If It Dies: Remember, the critical functions still work! You won’t be locked out of your room or stuck at the park gates. MultiCharger for MagicBand+ So while it’s nice to have the interactive features going strong all day, you don’t actually need a full charge for your MagicBand+ to do its job. The Bottom Line People keep getting this MagicBand+ problem wrong because it seems natural to assume a “dead” device can’t do anything. But with MagicBand+, the basics still work even when the extras don’t. Knowing that can save you a lot of stress in the parks. MagicBand+ As always, we’re here to help you avoid the common pitfalls before you set foot in Disney World. That way, you can focus more on making memories and less on worrying about whether your MagicBand+ is going to leave you stranded. Stay tuned to DFB for all your Disney World news! Three Disney World MagicBand Rules You Should Break Will you be using MagicBand+ on your next Disney World trip? Let us know in the comments! 3. “I don’t know why, but I’ve always enjoyed the idea of summer and sun, and all things hot!” — Olaf Summer is often thought of as a care-free time for kids and families, filled with sunny, outdoor recreation and enrichment. But for kids with serious illnesses, this often means days, weeks, or months spent in the hospital, missing out on popular summer activities. So, this season, Disney brought exclusive events, immersive murals, and special deliveries of toys and books to kids in hospitals around the world. These activations are part of Disney’s ongoing support for seriously ill children, following a recently fulfilled $100 million global commitment to help reimagine the patient experience in children’s hospitals and pediatric places of care. Through this work, Disney has delivered comfort and joy to children in nearly 1600 hospitals around the world. Disney Movie Moments & Disney+: Favorite Stories, Films, and Shows With a number of highly-anticipated summer releases, kids in hospitals got to experience Disney movie magic all summer long. Disney and Pixar’s Elio, Marvel Studios’ The Fantastic Four: First Steps, and Disney’s Freakier Friday were all available on Disney Movie Moments for pediatric patients around the world who were unable to visit theaters. In the UK and Ireland, Disney debuted the brand-new “Magic of Movies” campaign and Public Service Announcement (PSA) supporting long-time collaborator MediCinema, a UK-based charity that brings state-of-the-art cinemas to hospitals. Through MediCinema and complimentary access to Disney Movie Moments and Disney+, Disney works to ensure engaging content is available to kids in hospitals to help bring comfort and a sense of normalcy when it’s needed most. Disney Movie Parties: Lilo & Stitch and Elio Disney also hosted parties for children’s hospitals around the world, timed to the release of Lilo & Stitch and Elio. Movie parties consist of themed toys, books, and other fun treats for patients and their families to enjoy, along with watching a new film while it’s still in theaters. Bay Area children’s hospitals and pediatric places of care enjoyed Elio movie parties — and more. Pixar artists visited four facilities, taking drawing requests from patients at the parties and making bedside visits for those watching the film from the comfort of their hospital rooms. Medical professionals at hundreds of additional hospitals in the U.S. and Australia also received a Movie Party in a Box for Lilo & Stitch and Elio, complete with a curated assortment of themed products and activities to host their own local movie parties. Disney Deliveries: Hospital Gowns, Toys, and More Along with Movie Party in a Box, Disney, with the help of Starlight Children’s Foundation, delivered themed toys, books, and games to children’s hospitals across the U.S. and Australia. Additionally, new sets of Mickey & Friends and Star Wars-themed Starlight gowns and pants are now available to Starlight’s network of more than 800 hospitals in the U.S. One of the most stressful experiences in a child’s hospital journey is transitioning from their personal clothes into a hospital gown, so Disney works with Starlight to deliver collections inspired by beloved Disney characters to help provide comfort and familiarity to pediatric patients. For Spider-Man Day on August 1st, The Walt Disney Company Australia and New Zealand and the Fair Fight Foundation also launched a new Supertee: Marvel Edition with ‘Spider-Man’ design. The Supertee is a medical garment intended to help empower and support sick children in Australian hospitals. Spider-Man is the third Marvel Avenger character in the Supertee: Marvel Edition collection, adding to ‘Captain America’ and ‘Captain Marvel’ designs, available since 2022. Magical Moments: Disney Parks Disneyland Resort In July, Disney brought the joy of the 70th Celebration at Disneyland Resort to Children’s Hospital of Orange County (CHOC). Patients and families were invited to make crafts, play games with Disneyland Ambassadors and Disney VoluntEARS, draw with a Disney sketch artist, and meet Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Goofy, and Pluto. A few weeks later, CHOC hosted its annual CHOC Walk in the Park presented by Disneyland Resort, welcoming over 7,000 participants to take part in a 5k route through both Disneyland park and Disney California Adventure park — raising a record-breaking $2.9 million to support the hospital’s vital programs and research. Since the Walk began 35 years ago, more than $46 million has been raised through this event alone. Disney has a long legacy of support for CHOC, dating back to Walt Disney’s time on the hospital’s founding board and his fundraising efforts to help bring CHOC to life. This has grown into a longstanding relationship between Disneyland Resort and CHOC that continues today. Hong Kong Disneyland Resort In celebration of Hong Kong Disneyland’s 20th anniversary, the resort hosted magical parties at several local hospitals. Over 300 young patients, families, and medical staff at Tuen Mun Hospital and Hong Kong Children’s Hospital got to enjoy these enchanting events. The resort also launched “PlayWell with Disney,” an initiative that features colorful decor, mini-game booths, singing and dancing performances, and character visits. Additionally, eight public hospitals in Hong Kong are receiving Disney-themed murals and Disney Mobile Movie Theatres with complimentary Disney+ access. Reimagining Spaces: Disney Mural Installations Along with those in Hong Kong, Disney murals were installed this summer for four additional hospitals in Asia and Europe. In Japan, Disney unveiled murals and interactive wall art to brighten the Proton Beam Therapy Center at University of Tsukuba Hospital for kids being treated for pediatric cancer. Designed by Disney artists and featuring familiar characters from beloved stories, Disney murals and art are placed in important areas across patient floors to help ease anxiety and bring comfort and joy to children and their families. Disney’s Legacy of Support In 2018, Disney committed $100 million to help reimagine the patient experience in children’s hospitals, and has since created scalable, meaningful impact for children and families. From the very beginning, Disney teams across the company, including the world-renowned Walt Disney Imagineers, worked with a global network of experts to identify unique experiences Disney could provide to ease the fear and anxiety of a hospital stay. Hospitals received enchanting installations, themed hospital gowns, complimentary access to Disney+ and new theatrical releases, toy deliveries, hospital visits, and more — all of which continue to be made available to pediatric places of care around the world. The impact on the individual patient’s experience is often cited as one of the most meaningful outcomes of Disney’s work. While there are millions, each individual moment of comfort, empowerment, joy, or hope has made a lasting impact on kids and their families, when it’s needed most. 7. Ah, Disney Springs — we love how many dining options you have! We never feel like we’re out of choices. Time to try some new treats! If you’re craving dessert, there are multiple different options you can choose from, but one of our favorites is Vivoli il Gelato, which is home to lots of sweet treats, not just gelato. We headed over to try FIVE new treats on the menu, and we’ve gotta admit, some of them are more adventurous than we thought they’d be! First up was the Corona Sorbetto for $7.25. This one is definitely for the more adventurous crowd as it’s beer-forward right from the start—you can actually taste the hops in the gelato. It really does taste like beer ice cream, which might not be your favorite if you’re expecting something sweeter, but if you’re a beer person, it’s pretty wild. Corona Sorbetto We’d call it a must-try for any beer enthusiast in your group, especially if they’re into Corona, since that beer has such a distinct tart flavor. This is the kind of thing you get just to say you tried it—and maybe to treat a friend who loves beer, because when’s the next time you’ll see a Corona ice cream on the menu? It’s interesting! That said, if this isn’t a flavor you already know you like, you might be thrown off. It’s not bad—it’s just not a flavor people are used to in gelato. Personally, we can imagine a dark beer like Guinness with chocolate translating better, but the Corona sorbetto works as a bold contrast, and that’s where the fun comes in—it’s going to surprise some people in the best way, and others in the worst way. Worth a try if you love Corona! Then we grabbed the Lemoncello Spritz for $13.25, which was really refreshing! It hit us right away with that limoncello brightness, but it was softened by the gelato. The best way we can describe it is like a limoncello float—except instead of being heavy like ice cream, it feels lighter, almost closer to an iced tea in sweetness and texture. Lemoncello Spritz We’d definitely call this a midday summer drink. If you’re into sparkling citrus sodas like Orangina or San Pellegrino, you’ll get the same vibe here. The limoncello flavor is dialed back from its usual intensity, but it still has that real fruit punch that makes those beverages so addictive. So refreshing! What surprised us most is that it wasn’t overly sweet, even though it’s literally an alcoholic drink topped with vanilla gelato. It stays refreshing instead of cloying, and that balance makes it a lot easier to keep sipping. We loved it! Taking a break from the drinks, we grabbed the Guava Cannoli for $8.25, and this is one of the more standard choices here — what you see is what you get. A crisp, crunchy shell filled with guava cream. It’s tasty, but definitely falls on the “safer” side compared to some of the wilder flavors we tried. Guava Cannoli If we had to nitpick, the cream filling is just a little grainy, and the cannoli itself can be a bit tricky to eat cleanly. But the shell flavor is exactly what you’d expect, and their recipe feels really fresh. For cannoli fans, this is a solid option with a fun twist. The guava brings a tart, fruity punch that makes it stand out from a classic vanilla cream filling. Just keep in mind—it’s very fruit-forward. If you’re not into fruit flavors, you’ll probably want to skip it. Classic with a twist! Then it was time for the Tres Leches Tiramisu, which will cost you $10.75. Our immediate reaction was pure ecstasy. This is one of those desserts where you see someone else take a bite and instantly think, “I’ll have what she’s having!” If you’re a fan of decadent, rich flavors — so indulgent they almost feel impossible to finish alone — you’re going to love the challenge this one throws at you. Tres Leches Tiramisu The first wave of flavor is a mix of vanilla, buttercream, moist vanilla cake, and tres leches cream, with warm spice notes and just a touch of cinnamon. What we love is how it keeps unfolding. Our reporter always describes desserts like this as a treasure chest — the deeper you dig, the more surprises you uncover. Texture and temperature balance are huge for our reporter, and this nails it. Everything works in harmony without being overwhelming. It’s the kind of dessert that sticks in your brain and lands right on the crave list. Incredible! Finally, it was time for the Pumpkin Spice Affogato for $11! Our reporter’s first words were literally: “Oh, interesting.” It’s a little bitter from the espresso — think pumpkin spice latte turned into a dessert. The espresso pours over the gelato, so instead of being a hot drink, it cools into something surprisingly refreshing. Pumpkin Spice Affogato What we really loved is that the pumpkin flavor tastes more like actual pumpkin pie filling rather than the spice blend that Starbucks has made famous. If you want coffee that tastes like pumpkin, not just pumpkin spice, this is it. As the gelato melts, it leaves behind a kind of pumpkin pie foam that’s honestly delicious. We’re big fans! If you’re into pumpkin spice, especially in coffee form, this is a must-try. It feels like a collector’s edition version of a seasonal drink, and it’s sweet but no sweeter than your average Starbucks latte. If you’re more of a pumpkin pie person than a pumpkin spice person, you’ll still get what you want here. If you don’t like either? Skip it. But if you do, you might be missing out on one of the best seasonal desserts AND coffee drinks you’ll find at Disney Springs. Give it a try! We know that this is a safe space to share our Disney love, so we’re sharing just fun, random things that can add a bit of magic to everyday life. Unofficial Disney Parks Cookbook ©Amazon One of the most underrated ways to add that Disney vibe to your house is by making your own park snacks at home! While you might be thinking “There’s no way it will taste the same,” we would be you’re wrong, thanks the the unofficial Disney cookbook. It has 100 Disney-inspired recipes from including items like the fresh fruit waffle from Magic Kingdom, Ronto Wraps from Hollywood Studios, and the Night Blossom from Animal Kingdom. You will be surprised how easy some of these are and how nice it is to have a taste of the theme parks in your house. 9. Okay, when it comes to food, we cannot deny that Disneyland goes HARD. Not only with all the amazing seasonal snacks, but also with the year-round snacks and restaurants. Yep, we are BIG fans of Disneyland food. Baymax! We recently stopped by the Lucky Fortune Cookery in Disney California Adventure to check things out there, and now we’re bringing you a full review. It it worth a stop on your next trip to the Happiest Place on Earth? Let’s find out! Atmosphere You’ll find Lucky Fortune Cookery in San Fransokyo Square. It’s one of several outdoor dining spots in the area, and of course, is themed to the area. Lucky Fortune Cookery You can either walk up to the main window to place your order, or you can place a Mobile Order and pick it up at the Mobile Order pick-up window. We like the lanterns above the pick-up windows. Pick-up windows We will note that San Fransokyo has a huge seating area shared by all the restaurants here, but when it gets busy, it can be hard to find a table. But enough about the restaurant — what’s on the menu here?! Menu The food and drinks at Lucky Fortune Cookery are inspired by Asian flavors, although you’ll find some items that are mash-ups of Mexican meets Asian. So while you can get Teriyaki Chicken here, you can also Beef Birria Ramen. This is also the home of the Baymax Macaron. Drinks include a variety of teas, as well as a few alcoholic beverages Menu And now, onto the main event — the food! Eats First up, we grabbed the new Honey Walnut Shrimp Wrap for $13.99. It’s Fried Shrimp tossed in Sweet Honey Sauce, White Rice, Candied Walnuts, Slaw, Green Onions, and Sesame Seeds. Although it’s called a wrap, it’s sized more like a burrito. The shrimp is like a tempura breaded shrimp with a nice sweetness to it. The rice is well-cooked, but what blew us away was the sweet honey sauce. We also liked the crunch from the walnuts. The wrap comes with a side of garlic chips, and they were okay. The garlic taste is faint, but they’re otherwise flavorless. The texture gives us pork rind vibes. Honey Walnut Shrimp Wrap The Beef Birria Ramen is $15.99 comes with Consomé and is served with House-made Birria, Soft-boiled Egg, Monterey Jack, Cilantro, Roasted Corn, Onions, and Radish. We really wanted to like this because almost all the birria we’ve had in Disneyland has been STELLAR. But this was just way too salty. However, the meat was moist and flavorful, and the noodles were cooked to perfection. Beef Birria Ramen The egg was soft-boiled to perfection. We also appreciate the portion size for the prize. But it’s just off, and the saltiness was just too much. This generally gets great reviews from guests, so we could’ve gotten a bad batch or something. Great noodles The Pot Stickers are Vegetable and Chicken Pot Stickers for $8.99. We would just like to say that they’re the perfect savory snack. For starters, the crispy pot stickers have a lot of tasty filling. However, the sauce is also AMAZING with its zesty flavor. This is a snack we’d highly recommend if you just want to grab something to go. Pot Stickers Of course, we’re not going to leave here without grabbing the Baymax Macaron. This adorable snack is filled with Chocolate-Hazelnut Spread and Buttercream for $7.79. And it never disappoints. On a scale of one to ten, we’re giving this an 11. Baymax Macaron The buttercream and hazelnut spread is SO good, like Ferrero-Rocher good. The macaron as a whole also has the right amount of sweetness. Drinks To drink, we picked up the Passion Fruit-Orange-Guava Punch for $7.29. It’s POG juice punch, so we were already pretty sure we’d love it. It’s so refreshing with the passion fruit and guava the most forward flavors of the drink. We’ll be honest…we could not stop chugging this. Passion Fruit Orange Guava Punch We’re going to need more of this ASAP, and we’re starting a petition for everyone to try it. Nosh or Not This Disneyland restaurant is a must-visit if… You want a quick bite to eat. This is a great spot to get food quickly, so when that hanger comes on, you can satisfy it. Using Mobile Order can make it even faster. You want something beyond regular theme park food. The flavors here are not your standard theme park flavors. This is Asian-inspired food that’s a step up from hamburgers and hot dogs. You like Asian flavors. This is Asian-inspired food, after all, so those flavors are all here. You should skip this Disneyland spot if… You want a guaranteed place to sit. We’ve dined in San Fransokyo Square often, and we find ourselves having to search for a table every time. You want a table service experience. This is a quick service spot, so you’re not going to get the kind of service you would find at a table service restaurant. The weather isn’t great. If it’s cold, hot, or raining, you’ll be stuck eating outdoors. Although the tables in the area are covered, you might not want to eat outdoors. Overall Overall, we liked most of what we tried here, save for the Beef Birria Ramen, and being that it’s popular, we might have just visited Lucky Fortune Cookery on the wrong day. But everything else was a stand-out for us, and we will always come back for the Baymax Macaron and the POG punch. In the meantime, we’ll be on the lookout for more restaurant updates from Disneyland and beyond. 11. Not all snacks are fair game in Disney World! Ice Cream Martini For some treats, you’ll need exclusive access — not just a park ticket but maybe a ticket to a special event or a certain kind of membership. In the past, there have been some snacks that we’ve had to show ID to order, and today, we’ve rounded up the full list! If you’ve got to show your ID — whether that be your driver’s license, passport, or something else — to order a snack, generally, there is one of two reasons. Either the snack is 1) alcoholic, and therefore you have to be 21 years old to order, or 2) it’s only available to a select group of people, like Annual Passholders. So let’s look at those categories to see some of the most popular snacks you’ll have to show ID to get! Adults-Only Snacks There are a number of snacks around Disney World that you can make alcholic if you’re interested in something that’s not just a straight-up regular drink. For the purposes of this list, we’re not including items that are entirely liquid or slushes, since those fall more into the beverage category. First up, we’ve got the popular Ice Cream Martini available at L’Artisan des Glaces in the France Pavilion. It comes with two scoops of ice cream (your choice of flavor), with a shot of Grand Marnier, Whipped Cream Vodka, or Rum. You can buy one of these for $14.95. Ice Cream Martini with white chocolate ice cream and whipped cream vodka If you’re more of a gelato fan, you can also find alcoholic creations at Gelateria Toscana. Here they have the Amalfi, Bronte, and Martini Mania, which are all float-style treats with different gelato and spirit combinations. Gelateria Toscana Heading over to Hollywood Studios, Epic Eats has an alcoholic Root Beer Float with Stoli Vanil Vodka. You can order it for $16.50. Epic Eats At the Milk Stand in Galaxy’s Edge, did you know you can order “adult” versions of the iconic Blue Milk and Green Milk? The Blue Milk Cooler for $17 comes with Bacardi Rum , and the Green Milk Cooler for $17 comes with Corazon Blanco Tequila. Green and Blue Milk Coolers Tamu Tamu Refreshments in Animal Kingdom offers boozy versions of Dole Whip. Here, you can snag the Dole Whip Pineapple Cup with Parrot Bay Coconut Rum for $12.50 or the Dole Whip Pineapple Orange Soda Float with Rum for $13.50. Pineapple Orange Soda Float (the regular version) For a slightly different Dole Whip option, you can get the Dole Whip Pineapple Juice Float with Rum for $15.50 at Trilo-Bites in DinoLand, U.S.A. Trilo-Bites At Port Orleans Resort — French Quarter, you can order an alcohol-filled version of beignets! The Baton Rouge Beignets are $12.99 at Scat Cat’s Club — Cafe and come with two beignets jazzed up with your choice of Baileys Irish Cream Liqueur, Kahlúa Liqueur, or RumChata Liqueur. Baton Rouge Beignets And of course, we can’t forget about the exclusive lounge in EPCOT, where you have to show ID to even enter! GEO-82 is located inside Spaceship Earth and it’s a 21+ dining location, so technically, everything on the menu here requires you to show ID. Chef’s Selection Charcuterie at GEO-82 But what about the snacks that require you to show ID, even though they’re not alcoholic? Members-Only Snacks When we think of non-alcoholic treats that require you to show your ID, the main thing that comes to mind are Annual Passholder-exclusive snacks. One of these options is the AP-exclusive beverages that you can often find at Joffrey’s locations around the parks. They change seasonally and by location, so make sure to ask what’s available at the kiosk you visit. The Just Keep Swimming AP exclusive drink Also, whenever new Annual Passholder magnets drop in the parks, they often come with a matching exclusive snack. We’ve seen offerings like Dole Whip floats, ice cream sundaes, and fun beverages to match the magnets — just pay attention to the Passholder Buzz section of the My Disney Experience app. Rafiki Wildberry and DOLE Whip Orange Float Finally, there are often exclusive Passholder treats when Disney World offers Annual Passholder Appreciation Month. This typically falls in the early summer (around May or June), and comes with a variety of perks. Cruella Ice Cream Sundae in Disney World So there you go — a list filled with snacks that you’ll have to whip out that driver’s license to order in Disney World! We’ll make sure to keep you updated if more exclusive treats drop in the parks. Stay tuned to DFB for more Disney World snacks news! Best Snacks in Animal Kingdom for 2025 — Click Here! 12. Stop everything! There’s a new cake slice at The Cake Bake Shop at Disney’s BoardWalk that’s only around for a limited time! A new cake slice! This spot is great for special occasions, as it is pretty expensive, but we have to admit — these treats are GOOD! We’re rarely disappointed here, and as it turns out, this new cake is one of the best we’ve had, and we think EVERYONE should try it! The newest addition to the menu is the Southern Style Caramel Cake is available for $22 a slice. This may be our favorite cake we’ve ever had from here, according to our reporter, who usually tries the cake slices here. We loved that it’s more of a crumb cake texture. While that does mean it’s not as moist as others, we think it makes it different in a really great way. Southern Style Caramel Cake The cake has notes of vanilla, maple, and caramel, and the caramel frosting makes the whole cake rich without being too heavy, which is impressive. It was just heavenly! Unless you know you’re not a fan of caramel or cake in general, we think this is great for everyone to try — a real crowd winner, if you ask us! Consider us impressed! We’re not quite sure how long this will be around, but we do know it’s available for a limited time, so we recommend grabbing it sooner rather than later to be on the safe side. We’re expecting it to be here for the fall, but once winter hits, new flavors might take its place. More Recent Reviews! 13. If you’ve ever been walking through the World Showcase and have been hit with the most delicious smell, you might be walking through the Germany Pavilion by Karamell-Küche. This caramel shop features Werther’s Original Caramel and is home to some of our favorite EPCOT snacks. Get ready to dive in! Karamell-Küche just dropped three new treats, and even with hundreds of snacks sitting at EPCOT for the Food & Wine Festival, we might still be sneaking into the Germany Pavilion for these treats. First, we had the Bananas Foster Caramel for $5.79. This is a Werther’s Original Banana-flavored Caramel Square with Banana Chip and toasted Brown Sugar. Bananas Foster This was a true representation of its name! It definitely tasted like Bananas Foster, and it reminded us more of fudge. It’s going to sit in your mouth for a minute as you chew through it, so you can just enjoy the flavor. The banana chip on top was crispy, but as soon as you bit in, you got that fresh banana flavor. Our teeth hurt from the sweetness, but we would get this again. So fudgy Then we had the Caramel Gourmet Pretzel for $5.29. This Crunchy Pretzel is covered in Werther’s Original Caramel, Apple Oat Topping, and White Chocolate Drizzle. Caramel Pretzel The pretzel was so gooey, especially after sitting in the sun for a minute. The pretzel was crunchy and a bit tougher to cut, and though it is tiny, it is mighty in flavor. It was divine! We loved the white chocolate drizzle on top, and we wish it came in a baggie so we could always have one with us. SO good Finally, we tried the Caramel Pumpkin Butter Bar for $5.29, which is Pumpkin Slices, and Pumpkin-favored Werther’s Original Caramel layered into Butter Shortbread. This was our favorite! We think this was our personal favorite of all three! There was a crunchy and buttery bottom, and it felt like eating pie crust with a pumpkin pie cinnamon filling. We’re so glad the cinnamon was there to bring in a different flavor beyond pumpkin, and this is truly the representation of fall. Our dishes These three treats are here for the fall season, so make sure you head to EPCOT to dive into some of the most delicious caramel you’ve ever had. 14. Big changes are coming to Disney World, and some of them might sting a little. Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Disney has already been in the middle of a huge transformation across multiple parks, and now it looks like two more fan-favorite attractions will soon be added to the closure list. Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith and DINOSAUR are both scheduled to close in 2026, though Disney hasn’t given us official closure dates yet. The timing here is critical, because both rides are tied to massive park transformations — one featuring The Muppets and the other tied to the new Tropical Americas land at Animal Kingdom. Here’s what you need to know about these two closures and what’s coming next. Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster has been a staple of Disney’s Hollywood Studios since 1999, but its time with Aerosmith is officially coming to an end. Disney has already confirmed that the coaster will be reimagined into Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets, opening in 2026. The problem? We still don’t have an official closing date for the current version of the ride. Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Why does that matter? A re-theme of this scale takes a lot of time. The track layout may remain the same, but everything from the queue and storyline to the ride vehicles needs to be redesigned and rebuilt. Since Disney already announced that the Muppets version will open in 2026, the coaster will almost certainly need to close in the early part of 2026 to stay on track. That means time is quickly running out for Disney to give guests a last-chance window to experience the Aerosmith version before it officially heads backstage. ©Disney Disney just dropped a ton of new details about the Muppets makeover, and the vibe is completely different from the current attraction. The new storyline will follow Dr. Teeth and the Electric Mayhem as they try to get to a huge Hollywood concert on time. Guests will snag VIP passes, tour the recording studio (now hilariously under Muppet management), and then race across town in a Muppet-style limousine to reach the big show. Rock ‘n Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets ©Disney Even the iconic giant guitar out front will get a makeover, complete with a vibrant psychedelic design inspired by the Muppets’ chaotic energy. Inside the queue, expect to see penguin audio engineers, Scooter frantically trying to wrangle the band, and plenty of Easter eggs for longtime Muppet fans. And of course, the on-ride soundtrack will feature some seriously rocking Electric Mayhem hits to keep the adrenaline pumping. ©Disney So while it’s exciting to see what’s ahead, it also means that if you love the current version of Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster, your days are numbered. DINOSAUR Over in Animal Kingdom, DINOSAUR has been holding strong in DinoLand U.S.A. since the park opened in 1998. But this ride has been on borrowed time ever since Disney announced the transformation of DinoLand into Tropical Americas — a brand-new land inspired by the regions that influenced Encanto and Indiana Jones. Dinosaur in Animal Kingdom As part of this transformation, Disney already confirmed that DINOSAUR would be closing in 2026 to make way for a new Indiana Jones attraction. This will not be a copy-and-paste version of rides we’ve seen before, but rather a brand-new adventure unique to Animal Kingdom. Imagineers are already deep into construction across the land, with permits being filed for DINOSAUR and even minor set updates to keep it running smoothly until it officially closes. @Disney The challenge here is timing. Tropical Americas is scheduled to open in 2027, which doesn’t give Disney a lot of wiggle room. In order to gut the DINOSAUR building and install a completely new ride, they’ll need to close the attraction by early 2026. That means guests are guaranteed to only have the rest of 2025 to ride DINOSAUR before it goes extinct. DINOSAUR Right now, the land is closing in phases. The Boneyard Fossil Fun Site is closing on September 2nd, 2025, and Restaurantosaurus is expected to wrap up operations by the end of 2025. That leaves DINOSAUR as one of the final pieces of DinoLand standing before the big transition begins. The Boneyard! When Pueblo Esperanza (the name of the new land) opens, it will feature two headlining attractions: the new Indiana Jones ride and the first-ever Encanto ride. Add in a carousel, a massive quick-service restaurant inside a Spanish-style hacienda, and a lush rainforest setting, and Animal Kingdom will look very different from what we see today. What This Means for You The biggest takeaway is this: if either Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster or DINOSAUR are on your Disney World must-do list, 2025 is the year to prioritize them. By early 2026, both will likely be closed to make way for their replacements. Disney has not yet announced official closure dates, but based on the construction timelines, it won’t be long before we have answers. Once those dates are released, expect crowds to surge as fans rush to ride these attractions one last time. Dinosaur It’s always bittersweet to say goodbye to Disney rides, especially ones that have been around for decades. But the good news is that both replacements — Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets and the Indiana Jones adventure — promise to bring fresh energy, updated technology, and plenty of fun for future generations of park goers. For now, we’ll keep a close eye out for Disney’s official announcements and let you know the moment those closure dates are confirmed. 15. Disney World has had a busy week! Halloween decorations in Disney World! They dropped tons of news, updates, and inside looks at new projects headed to Animal Kingdom, Magic Kingdom, Hollywood Studios, and MORE! We’re doing a full news wrap-up right here for the three biggest announcements from this week. Let’s dive into the biggest news right here! If we’re being honest, we’ve been covering Disney news for 15 years, and this week still threw us for a loop! Ahead of D23, we knew that news was coming, but we didn’t anticipate that it would be before the Disney fan event. No matter when it comes, though, we will happily take it and enjoy it all! Let’s start off over in Hollywood Studios. The Muppets Coaster Updates We finally have new updates on Disney’s upcoming Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster retheme! Disney announced that the Muppets would be taking over the famous coaster in November 2024, and they really haven’t shared much since then… until now! ©Disney Disney did previously confirm that the coaster will open in 2026, but now we know the famous cherry red guitar will be getting a psychedelic makeover, and the piano below it will feature a new golden key as a nod to Dr. Teeth himself. They confirmed the storyline of the new ride starts with the Electric Mayhem, who are headlining their biggest concert ever, but no one can find the band. They also confirmed G-Force Records will be looking a little different because the Muppets have officially taken over, with some help from Scooter’s uncle, real estate tycoon and owner of the Muppet Theatre, J.P. Grosse. ©Disney On the ride, we will be given VIP passes (we love that idea!), which means we can come inside the recording studio, where we will discover the Electric Mayhem recording with the penguins acting as their audio engineers. Scooter is trying to convince the band to stop their jam session and is asking YOU to help the band get to the concert venue in time. Disney has confirmed that Scooter and the penguins will be animatronics! ©Disney We have been pretty nervous about this retheme, but this concept art has made us super excited for the attraction to open in 2026. Learn MORE About The New Muppets Coaster Here Opening Date for Zootopia: Better Zoogether We finally have an opening date for Animal Kingdom’s newest attraction! Zootopia: Better Zoogether will finally open on November 7th, 2025. ©Disney This show will be located in the Tree of Life theater and is replacing the classic (and kinda scary) It’s Tough To Be A Bug show! Judy Hopps, Nick Wilde, and more characters from Disney Animation’s Zootopia in a show that “will take guests on an adventure through different biomes seen in the film.” The all-new 4D show begins when you arrive at the main stage just in time for Zoogether Day festivities! Zoogether Day ©Disney Ginnifer Goodwin and Jason Bateman are returning as Judy Hopps and Nick Wilde, PLUS Shakira is returning as Gazelle! 18. The Mexico Pavilion at EPCOT is one of those places that feels like you’ve stepped into an entirely different world. Mexico Pavilion at EPCOT Inside, you’ll find dim lantern lighting, bustling shops, and the sound of a mariachi band echoing in the background, all under a sky that’s permanently painted twilight. But as magical as this spot is, it also comes with a few quirks that can turn your outfit choice into a total win—or a total regret. That’s why we’re breaking down five unspoken outfit rules you’ll want to keep in mind before you set foot in the Mexico Pavilion. Don’t Wear Heels The pavilion is undeniably gorgeous, but let’s talk flooring. Between the cobblestone-style pathways and the dim indoor lighting, this is not the place to test your balance on stilettos or wedges. It’s just not worth the risk of twisting an ankle while trying to navigate the shops or heading toward the Gran Fiesta Tour. Inside the Mexico pavilion in EPCOT We’ve seen plenty of guests rocking heels in EPCOT, and while they may look cute in photos, they don’t always survive the night without a limp. Trust us—you’ll still get stunning photos in sneakers or flat sandals, and your feet will thank you later. Avoid Long Dresses If you’ve ever wandered through the indoor marketplace area of the pavilion, you know how tight it can get. Add in dim lighting, uneven floors, and crowds shuffling around in every direction, and suddenly your flowing maxi dress isn’t so magical anymore. Inside the Mexico pavilion in EPCOT The last thing you want is for your hem to get stepped on—or worse, for you to trip over it yourself while trying to hop in line for a margarita. Shorter dresses, skirts, or even cropped pants will give you the freedom to move comfortably without worrying about an unexpected tumble in the dark. Layer Up Here’s something most people don’t realize until they’re inside: the Mexico Pavilion is cool. Like, surprisingly cool compared to the sweltering Florida heat you’ve just walked in from. The perpetual twilight sky and indoor air conditioning create a chillier vibe that can actually make you shiver if you’ve been baking in the sun all day. EPCOT’s Mexico Pavilion A light jacket, cardigan, or shawl can be a game-changer here. You won’t want to carry around a bulky hoodie in the middle of August, but something lightweight you can toss in your bag is perfect. It keeps you comfortable indoors without overheating you when you step back into the Florida sun. Bright Colors Fit the Vibe If there’s one pavilion where bold colors belong, it’s Mexico. The architecture, the décor, the merchandise—it’s all about vibrant reds, oranges, yellows, turquoise, and pinks. Wearing something bright not only makes you feel like you’re part of the festive atmosphere, but it also looks incredible in photos against the warm-toned backdrops. It’s so VIBRANT Sure, you can never go wrong with Disney classics like black-and-white outfits or your favorite character tee, but if you want your EPCOT pictures to pop, this is the spot to break out that fiery red dress, a colorful button-down, or even just a turquoise accessory. You’ll blend right in with the pavilion’s energy while standing out in your photos. No Super Tight Shoes Even if you skip the heels, you still want to think carefully about your footwear. Between any uneven flooring and the time you’ll spend browsing shops or waiting in line for Gran Fiesta Tour, your feet will get tired quickly if you’re wearing stiff or overly tight shoes. Showing off his space This is definitely the time to go with comfort over fashion. Breathable sneakers, cushioned sandals, or anything with some flexibility are your best bet. Your feet will still be stylish enough for photos, and you’ll be able to enjoy exploring without constantly looking for the nearest bench. Mexico Pavilion The Mexico Pavilion is one of EPCOT’s most unique and atmospheric stops, but it’s also one of the trickiest when it comes to outfits. From cobblestone floors to cool indoor air, there are plenty of little details that can make or break your comfort here. Stick with these five unspoken outfit rules, and you’ll be able to focus on enjoying the margaritas, the music, and the magic without worrying about your wardrobe. Stay tuned to DFB for more Disney World tips! The Unspoken Rule You Should Follow at the Land Pavilion in EPCOT What’s your go-to outfit when you visit the Mexico Pavilion in EPCOT? 20. Welcome aboard the Tomorrowland Transit Authority PeopleMover — your quiet and carefree highway in the sky. We invite you to sit back, relax, and enjoy your grand circle tour of Tomorrowland. PeopleMover During your ride on the PeopleMover, the narrator tells you about the different attractions around Tomorrowland in Disney World. A fan favorite part of the spiel is “Paging Mr. Morrow — Mr. Tom Morrow. Please contact Mr. Johnson in the control tower to confirm your flight to the moon.” Well, Mr. Morrow is making a special appearance soon! Since the teasers have started, fans are already guessing what they think it will be. Some of the other YouTube videos have shown us behind-the-scenes looks at new and upcoming attractions or shows. We recently saw one for Disney Starlight: Dream the Night Away, the new nighttime parade at Magic Kingdom. ©Disney When Tiana’s Bayou Adventure was being built, we saw the animatronics before they made their way to the bayou. ©Disney They’ve even shown clips from the new Disney Destiny Hercules show, which has me wanting to book a cruise immediately. ©Disney Cruise Line Some commenters are guessing an update to Tomorrowland in either Magic Kingdom or Disneyland. Tomorrowland at Disneyland Others think there might be something new coming to EPCOT, given references like Spaceship Earth and World of Motion. ©Disney The whiteboard behind Mr. Morrow has a list of upcoming projects that we’ve been following for a while, including Walt Disney: A Magical Life, Disney Starlight, Disney Cruise Line Destiny and Adventure, and Beak & Barrel. There are tons of projects in the works right now, and Disney just dropped major updates on Buzz Lightyear Space Ranger Spin, Beak & Barrel, Zootopia: Better Zoogether coming to the Tree of Life, and Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster starring The Muppets. ©Disney Do you think the update will be on some of these projects or bigger ones we haven’t received updates on? With Destination D23 around the corner, this is usually the place to make huge announcements around the parks, but now we’re wondering if we’ll get all the information early! Tom Morrow is originally from the Disneyland attraction, Rocket to the Moon, where he was the robot that was the spacecraft mission’s director. While the attraction isn’t around anymore, we love the reference in the PeopleMover every time we ride it. ©Disney We’ll be watching Mr. Morrow on Monday, trying to find any new details coming to Disney Parks, so make sure you’re following Disney Food Blog for more! 21. It’s almost time for the 2025 EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival! 2024 Food and Wine Festival We’ve been going to this festival for decades now and covering it here at DFB for more than 10 years, and throughout that time, we’ve kept an eye on which booths are the most popular. Many return year after year, and if there’s one that’s guaranteed to be busy, it’s The Alps. The Alps is located in the Germany Pavilion each year, usually right next to the Germany booth, and it has been at the festival since 2019. Even though it has only been around for a few years now, it’s one of the booths that consistently has a loooong line, even sometimes when it’s not a peak meal time. The Alps queue in 2023 Do you know why The Alps tends to be so popular? Well, it’s down to one word — CHEESE. This booth is home to the famous Raclette, which is a Swiss dish where cheese is heated up and then scraped (all melty and gooey ) over a bed of potatoes or other accoutrements. Warm Swiss Cheese Raclette At The Alps booth, you can get two different versions of this dish — one with ham and one without. Both dishes come with baby potatoes, cornichons, and a baguette. Usually, the Raclette is part of Emile’s Fromage Montage, the cheesy scavenger hunt you can complete during the Food & Wine Festival. Look at that HAM! In the past, our reviews have described The Alps booth as a must-visit, and the Warm Raclette has made our “best of the fest” list several times over. The cheese is strong and some might call it stinky, but it has that punchy cheesy flavor that complements the more tame potatoes and bread that are served alongside it. It’s best to eat this dish hot and fresh before the cheese has had time to firm up; that way, it’s more like a delicious fondue. Warm Raclette with Ham at The Alps in 2022 It also tends to be one of the festival’s cheaper items, and it’s pretty filling, so you get some bang for your buck. Are you starting to understand why people line up for this booth all day long? It’s a crowd-pleaser option that brings fans back again and again. Warm Raclette Swiss Cheese with Baby Potatoes, Cornichons and Baguette in 2023 So if you’re hoping to visit The Alps booth during the festival this year, be prepared to wait in a long line. But the good news? We can almost guarantee it’ll be worth it once you have that cheesy goodness in your hands. (Well, not literally in your hands — they serve it to you in a paper dish.) 22. Disney World never stays the same for long. It’s closed! Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin is officially closed for a major overhaul, and when it returns in 2026, it won’t just be a touch-up. Disney has revealed several big changes coming to the ride, and we think these are the kinds of updates that could completely change how you experience one of Tomorrowland’s most classic attractions. From a brand-new character to interactive technology and reimagined ride vehicles, the future of Space Ranger Spin looks very different. Let’s break down the four updates you’ll want to know about and why they matter way more than you think. A Brand-New Character Joins the Adventure This might sound small, but it’s actually a huge deal. For the very first time, riders will meet Buddy, a brand-new robot designed by Walt Disney Imagineering and Pixar Animation Studios. Buddy’s role is simple but important: he’s there at the very start of the ride to prepare Space Rangers for their mission. He’ll run through system checks, give words of encouragement, and even help guests warm up their blaster skills before blasting off to take on Zurg. ©Disney Why does this matter? Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin has always been fun, but it didn’t have much in the way of storytelling. With Buddy, Imagineers are layering in more character-driven immersion—similar to how you meet Hondo before flying the Millennium Falcon in Galaxy’s Edge. It’s a small touch that can make the whole ride feel more complete and modern. Plus, Buddy was created specifically for this attraction, which shows Disney is investing in original ideas rather than just reusing familiar Pixar characters. That’s exciting for the future of Tomorrowland. New Ride Vehicles That Change the Game Another big update is the redesign of the ride vehicles, and these aren’t just getting a new paint job. The star cruisers will now be themed to match the colors of Buzz Lightyear’s suit and Star Command, creating a more cohesive visual look. But the real upgrade is in the functionality: each vehicle will come with built-in video monitors that show real-time scoring updates throughout your mission. New ride vehicle for Buzz Lightyear Space Ranger Spin This may sound like a cosmetic change, but for fans who love competing for that perfect Galactic Hero score, this is game-changing. Right now, players don’t know their score until the very end, but these monitors mean you’ll be able to track your progress in real time and adjust your strategy mid-mission. That adds a whole new level of competitive play and replay value to the ride. Plus, the vehicles themselves are being reimagined with a clamshell-style design, which makes them easier to load and gives each cruiser a sleek, futuristic look. Handheld Blasters with Serious Upgrades If you’ve ever ridden Space Ranger Spin, you know one of the biggest frustrations: those blasters fixed to the ride vehicle don’t exactly give you the best aim. That’s all changing with the refurbishment. Starting in 2026, each ride vehicle will come with two handheld blasters, designed so guests can aim more freely and accurately. ©Disney Not only are these blasters handheld, but they’re also packed with upgrades. Each one will have an always-on laser (so you can finally see where you’re aiming), new lighting and sound effects, and even vibration feedback when you hit a target. On top of that, each cruiser will have two different colored blasters—one red and one green—so it’s easier to tell whose laser is whose. ©Disney This change is massive because it makes the ride more approachable for everyone. Younger riders will actually be able to participate without struggling to aim, and seasoned players will have a better chance at hitting high-value targets. It’s a win-win that makes the game more fun for all skill levels. Interactive Targets That React When Hit The last big change may sound subtle, but it’s arguably the most exciting for gameplay. The old Z targets inside the attraction are being completely replaced with new interactive versions. These will light up, rotate, and even react with sound effects when hit by your blaster. ©Disney For a ride that’s been criticized in the past for feeling a little dated compared to newer interactive attractions like Toy Story Mania, this is a major step forward. Suddenly, your actions have a visible effect on the ride environment, which makes the experience feel more alive and immersive. This also gives Imagineers a lot of room to add hidden scoring opportunities, secret targets, or even special effects that trigger during the mission. It could completely transform the way you play the game. Why These Updates Matter On the surface, these may just seem like small tweaks to a fan-favorite ride, but together, they represent something bigger: Disney is investing in making Tomorrowland feel more relevant again. Space Ranger Spin has been around since 1998, and while it’s been a reliable staple, it’s long needed an update to stay competitive with newer interactive rides in the parks. Space Ranger Spin With Buddy adding new storytelling, handheld blasters and interactive targets creating a more dynamic gameplay experience, and updated ride vehicles enhancing both immersion and competition, Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin is evolving into a next-generation version of itself. It’s not just a refurbishment—it’s a reinvention. And for fans, that matters because it shows Disney isn’t just keeping the ride alive, they’re giving it the kind of attention and creativity that could keep it popular for decades to come. When the attraction reopens in 2026, don’t be surprised if it becomes one of the most in-demand rides in Magic Kingdom. Closed for Refurbishment In the meantime, make sure you stay tuned to DFB for the latest Disney news! 23. Listen, I love mystery bags. Mystery pin sets, Wishables, Munchlings, I’m here for a little surprise when I open a small package. Over in the Japan Pavilion in EPCOT, we found a new mystery trinket that we think is going to be popular. Mystery time! The Japan Pavilion is one of the best places to shop in EPCOT. It’s filled with so many fun items and every time I need a gift for someone, I head straight here. Pause the gift giving because you’re going to want to keep these all for yourself. Over in Gachapon Corner, we found these adorable vending machines that look like they’re straight from Japan (well, they probably are!). In the Japan Pavilion We paid and then turned the dial, creating an incredible nostalgic experience, and received our little toy. There are lots to choose from, and we went for a Hello Kitty one. So many options The toys come unassembled so you get the joy of building it and then BOOM, you get a little figurine. Will you be collecting them all? Gotta assemble! This little guy is named Cinnamoroll, who is a white puppy, and it looks like an ice cream sundae themed to the beach. Too cute! Okay, we love him From the machine we tried, there were four different options, so we might just have to come back and try to get them all. Should we collect all four? While you’re there in the Japan Pavilion, you should check out the Mitsukoshi Department Store, too. There’s a pearl picking experience, tons of cute stuffed animals from your favorite shows and video games, and some super fun snacks to try in the back. Inside Mitsukoshi With the EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival coming up, we’re getting ready to explore the World Showcase in search of food booths with new treats to try. Maybe our little Cinnamoroll will come with us during our adventures! Make sure you keep following Disney Food Blog for more Disney news to make your next visit the best one yet. 25. There have been a lot of closure announcements for Disney World! However, we FINALLY learned when a closed experience will be reopening. Disney’s Animal Kingdom It’s Tough to Be a Bug closed back on March 17th, and Disney has been hard at work transforming the area into a BRAND-NEW show. We have been eagerly awaiting an opening date that is more precise than “winter 2025,” and we officially have that date! It’s Tough to Be a Bug is closed for good. This attraction in Disney’s Animal Kingdom once invited you to join the bug kingdom on an adventure. While the show didn’t usually make it to the top of favorite attractions in Disney World, it has now closed to make way for a new show. ©Disney It’s Tough to Be a Bug closed on March 17th to make way for a brand-new show, “Zootopia: Better Zoogether!”, expected to debut on November 7th, 2025. The show begins when you arrive at the main stage just in time for Zoogether Day festivities, where you’ll spot some new and familiar faces, including Heidi Howler, a wolf who hosts the Zoogether Day LIVE! broadcast. ©Disney Let’s take a look at the other attractions and locations that will be closed this week, from August 23rd through August 30th, at Disney World. EPCOT Spaceship Earth You only have a few days left to ride this iconic EPCOT attraction! Spaceship Earth will be closing for routine refurbishment beginning August 25th, 2025. While it will only be a temporary closure as the attraction is expected to reopen later this year, it will still be a few months or so without Spaceship Earth. Spaceship Earth We aren’t expecting any major changes to the attraction, just general maintenance and routine work. It is definitely going to be sad experiencing the start of the EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival without being able to ride Spaceship Earth, though. REVIEW and FIRST LOOK at a Brand-New EPCOT Food & Wine Festival Treat Magic Kingdom Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin A popular Tomorrowland attraction is now closed! Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin has closed for refurbishment as of August 4th, 2025, and isn’t expected to reopen until 2026. While the ride is closed, it will be getting some upgrades! New ride vehicle! Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin will be getting a new ride scene, new ride vehicles, a new character, and enhanced gameplay elements. Some of those gameplay elements include handheld blasters (soon you can shoot whenever you want!) and reactive targets. We recently got the chance to take a look at the new ride vehicle and test out the new blasters, and we have to say we were impressed! Liberty Square Riverboat and Tom Sawyer Island An iconic part of the Magic Kingdom is now permanently closed. As of July 7th, the Rivers of America, including the Liberty Square River Boat and Tom Sawyer Island, are closed for good to make way for the new Cars area, Piston Peak National Park. There are some construction walls up in the area now, and we have seen workers on Tom Sawyer Island. The river has also started to be drained! Rivers of America Piston Peak National Park will be replacing this area of Magic Kingdom, and construction is expected to begin in the area this year. Disney has not yet released an opening date for the new Cars area, but we do know that it will feature two brand-new attractions and will be themed to look like a National Park. NEW LOOK at the Ride Vehicles for Disney’s Buzz Lightyear Attraction in Magic Kingdom Big Thunder Mountain Railroad On January 6th, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad closed for an extended temporary closure. The “Wildest Ride in the Wilderness” will be closed for at least a year and will reopen sometime in 2026. ©Disney The ride will be undergoing maintenance while it is closed. When it reopens, it will have some “new magic,” according to Disney. Recently, Disney announced some of the new magic! Riders will see “spectacular natural caverns full of phosphorescent pools, shimmering and illuminating iridescent stalagmites (the ones on the floor) and stalactites (the ones on the ceiling)” — the Rainbow Caverns! ©Disney We can’t wait to see what other changes might be coming to this ever-popular roller coaster! We have spotted some ride testing happening, which was very exciting, and a train car has arrived! It was still covered in a tarp, but it was exciting to see. Tortuga Tavern Tortuga Tavern is a seasonal restaurant in Magic Kingdom. It has been a bit since we saw it open. Most recently, it was used as a cookie location for Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party. Tortuga Tavern We had previously spotted shrubs around the restaurant as they worked on the flooring. However, all the shrubs have been taken down now. We don’t know exactly when/if this restaurant will reopen, but we will keep you updated if we learn more! Disney Reveals FIRST LOOK at Signs for Beak and Barrel at Magic Kingdom Disney’s Animal Kingdom TriceraTop Spin, Chester & Hester’s Dinosaur Treasures, and Fossil Fun Games The first round of closures began in DinoLand U.S.A. on January 13th, 2025. TriceraTop Spin, Chester & Hester’s Dinosaur Treasures, and Fossil Fun Game were closed down, and construction has begun on the brand-new land themed to the Tropical Americas, Pueblo Esperanza. The walls have been up since the closure, and things have been disappearing from behind the walls. Almost everything has been taken down behind the walls, including the large green dinosaur. Pueblo Esperanza Construction It is definitely a sad sight, but we are also excited to see Pueblo Esperanza! DINOSAUR, Restaurantosaurus, the snack stands, and The Boneyard remain open. The Boneyard will be closing for good on September 2nd, 2025. Disney hasn’t announced an official closing date for the rest of DinoLand. However, they have announced that “2025 is your year to visit before it goes extinct!” Don’t Forget! An Animal Kingdom Attraction Is Permanently Closing in TWO WEEKS Disney’s Hollywood Studios Muppets Courtyard, including Muppet*Vision 3D, PizzeRizzo, and Mama Melrose’s Ristorante Italiano Muppet*Vision 3D AND PizzeRizzo closed on June 8th, and Muppets Courtyard has been walled off so construction can begin on the new Monsters, Inc. land. Mama Melrose’s Ristorante Italiano has been closed since May 11th. Muppets Courtyard behind walls Don’t worry, the Muppets won’t be missing from Disney’s Hollywood Studios forever. The Muppets will eventually be taking over Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster in 2026. Disney Reveals NEW Concept Art for Muppets Roller Coaster at Hollywood Studios Disney Springs Starbucks on the West Side The Starbucks on the West Side of Disney Springs is temporarily closed for refurbishment. It closed on March 3rd, and it is expected to reopen in mid-summer. Starbucks is currently closed Have no fear, though — you can still get your Starbucks fix in Disney Springs! Head over to the Disney Springs Marketplace location, which will be open during the refurbishment. Caffeine headaches are not allowed in Disney Springs! We Created a New Secret Dining Experience in Disney Springs Disney World Hotels Cabanas Leisure Pool – Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort One of the pools at Disney’s Coronado Springs will be temporarily closed for maintenance. From August 17th through August 24th, 2025, the Cabanas leisure pool at Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort will be closed for routine maintenance. The pool will be unavailable during this time, and guests may hear construction noise. Coronado Springs The good news is that there are still plenty of pools to use! The Lost City of Cibola pool, as well as the Casitas and Ranchos leisure pools, will still be available during the refurbishment of the Cabanas leisure pool. Jellyrolls — Disney’s BoardWalk Jellyrolls at Disney’s BoardWalk officially closed on April 19th, 2025. This entertainment venue has provided our team with countless memories, and we know many others are also sad to see it close. Jellyrolls had its final farewell performance on April 19th and closed its doors forever on Disney’s BoardWalk. Jellyrolls However, this isn’t the end for Jellyrolls, as the bar has said they are “making a move.” We don’t know many details about that move yet, but we will keep you updated.
