Disney World is constantly changing, and 2026 is shaping up to be a HUGE year for Hollywood Studios. Disney’s Hollywood Studios entrance Between a beloved ride getting a complete reimagining and a whole area of the park transforming into something brand new, you’re going to notice some big differences the next time you visit. If you thought Hollywood Studios couldn’t get more exciting after the additions of Galaxy’s Edge and Toy Story Land, just wait. Let’s break down the two major changes coming to the park in 2026. Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Gets a Muppet Makeover For decades, Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith has been a fan favorite at Hollywood Studios. With its high-speed launch, upside-down loops, and iconic “backstage pass” storyline, it’s been a must-do for thrill seekers since it opened in 1999. But in 2026, this classic ride is saying goodbye to Aerosmith and hello to a brand-new theme. Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Disney has officially announced that the attraction will permanently close in 2026 to make way for Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring the Muppets. That’s right — Kermit, Miss Piggy, Fozzie, and the gang are movin’ right along to Sunset Boulevard. ©Disney Here’s what we know so far: the ride system itself is sticking around, so you’ll still get that heart-pounding launch and those wild inversions, but the storyline, visuals, and soundtrack will all be completely reimagined. Instead of racing to an Aerosmith concert in a stretch limo, you’ll now be joining the Muppets for a chaotic, laugh-filled adventure. If you’ve ever seen a Muppets movie, you know things don’t exactly go smoothly when this crew is involved, and we can only imagine how that translates to a roller coaster. ©The Jim Henson Company While some longtime fans will definitely miss the Aerosmith theming, the Muppets are a perfect fit for Hollywood Studios, especially since their presence in the park has been slowly shrinking over the years. This new version of the coaster not only gives the Muppets a major spotlight but also breathes fresh life into one of the park’s only thrill rides. Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster area entrance on Sunset Boulevard If you’re planning a trip before the closure, make sure you ride Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith while you still can. And if you’re planning for 2026 and beyond, get ready for one of the most unique coaster experiences Disney has ever created. Animation Courtyard Transforms into The Magic of Disney Animation The second major change coming to Hollywood Studios in 2026 is happening in the Animation Courtyard, and honestly, it might be the biggest glow-up the area has ever had. Animation Courtyard Currently, the space is home to Star Wars: Launch Bay, Disney Jr. Play and Dance!, and The Little Mermaid — A Musical Adventure. While Launch Bay has been a cool stop for Star Wars fans, the land hasn’t had the same pull as other areas of the park, and Disney is ready to give it a full transformation. Star Wars Launch Bay Starting in 2026, Launch Bay will become The Magic of Disney Animation, an area dedicated to celebrating the heart of Disney — animation itself. The redesigned courtyard will look like a slice of the Walt Disney Studios Lot in Burbank, complete with buildings inspired by the original campus. Oh, and if you were a fan of the giant Sorcerer Hat icon that once stood in the center of Hollywood Studios, you’re in luck — you’ll see it return on top of this new animation hub. ©Disney Inside, guests can step into an interactive experience that feels like walking into the world of Disney Animation. You’ll see portraits that come to life before your eyes, take part in animation classes where you can sketch your own character, and explore hands-on activities inspired by classic films. The Drawn to Wonderland playground will give kids a chance to climb, play, and explore oversized sets inspired by Mary Blair’s original Alice in Wonderland concept art. Think giant flowers, whimsical instruments, and imaginative play spaces that feel like stepping into a painting. ©Disney But it won’t just be for kids. Disney has teased that this will be a place for families to relax, snack, and meet some surprise characters. You might catch Mickey and friends enjoying the area, or even spot other Disney favorites “digging in the grass” or “soaking up the sun” nearby. As part of this transformation, Disney Jr. Play and Dance! will permanently close in September 2025 to make way for the new experiences, but The Little Mermaid — A Musical Adventure will stay put as a staple of the courtyard. Families who love the Disney Jr. shows can look forward to updated character experiences woven into the new animation area. ©Disney This reimagining finally gives Animation Courtyard the identity it’s been missing. Instead of being a bit of a catch-all corner of the park, it’s going to become a must-visit hub celebrating the magic that started it all — Disney animation. ©Disney Hollywood Studios in 2026 is going to feel like a whole new park. Between a thrilling Muppet-filled roller coaster and a reimagined Animation Courtyard that celebrates Disney’s creative roots, there’s plenty to look forward to. Whether you’re a die-hard thrill seeker or just looking for a new space to play and relax with your family, the park is set to deliver in some major ways. Until then, keep it right here at DFB for the latest Disney news! 4 New Rules For Magic Kingdom in 2026 Are you taking a trip to Disney’s Hollywood Studios in 2026? Which change are you the most intrigued by? Let us know in the comments. The post 2 Ways Disney's Hollywood Studios Will Be Totally Different in 2026 first appeared on the disney food blog. Outsiders now can go inside Orlando’s latest theme park via a televised special titled “Inside the World of Epic Universe.” The 45-minute program, which originally aired on NBC, is now available through the Peacock streaming service. It’s hosted by actor Joe Manganiello, who gives a guided tour that includes special guests including Warwick Davis, Bowen Yang and the stars of the live-action version of “How to Train Your Dragon.” Viewers see director Steven Spielberg multiple times. If you followed the development of the Universal Orlando park, there’s not much new here. But there’s plenty of colorful footage of the attractions serving as reminders in case it’s been a while since your visit. Still, it’s not a blow-by-blow travelogue. Some rides – including Stardust Racers roller coaster – are limited to quick cameos, and centerpiece Helios Grand Hotel is seen but not heard about. Overall, it’s a positive spin involving Comcast corporate cousins. The timing might seem odd to Orlandoans since the park debuted three months ago, but farflung possible Epic visitors are probably more of the target audience. There are scenes from the park’s construction era, staged promotional footage, backstage animatronic scenes (barefoot Dracula alert) and the pre-opening, star-studden celebration. Still, we a few moments of interest to share. (Wait, was that a “real” flying dragon outside?) Battle-ready Manganiello and Davis take a walk-through of the queue for Harry Potter and the Battle at the Ministry. They sit down to absorb the surroundings. “It’s pretty uncanny, really, because this location exactly matches the set we shot on … the scale, the detail. It’s all identical,” Davis said. He also drops the fact about 175,000 custom-made tiles were used in the queue. Later, viewers see the duo get into the ride vehicle and struggle a little with the seat belts. Nico Parker (left) and Mason Thames, stars of upcoming 'How to Train Your Dragon,' arrive on the 'celestial carpet' as part of the Epic Universe grand opening ceremonies in May 21. (Stephen M. Dowell/Orlando Sentinel) Berk, big-time The How to Train Your Dragon – Isle of Berk section of the park gets a lot of real estate, figuratively, during the program. It’s bright, broad and so real-looking that it might look AI-generated. Mason Thames and Nico Parker, stars of the “Dragon” movie released in June, were big-eyed after passing through the Berk portal. “This is way bigger than I thought it would be,” Parker said. They also were enthusiastic about actually being allowed on the rides, and their front-row experience aboard Hiccup’s Wing Gliders coaster appears in the special. They also spent time with the Toothless meet-and-greet animatronic and at the stage show. Authenticity again was considered a marvel “It’s very true to what we were actually in,” Thames said of the park’s Great Hall restaurant. “It’s like we never left [the set],” Parker said. Monster mash Spielberg is interviewed in a screening room and also seen at Epic’s construction site alongside Mark Woodbury, chairman and CEO of Universal Destinations & Experiences. “My eyes were pinching themselves,” Spielberg said. “I was humbled just to see it for the first time.” As creative consultant for Universal Destinations & Experiences, he had a voice. “I was pushing for some kind of ride experience that would collide every one of these famous monsters together in one huge scary but entertaining experience,” he said, pretty much describing Epic’s Monsters Unchained: The Frankenstein Experiment. Meeting Ygor Manganiello, Yang and Matt Roberts (who creates the Las Culturistas podcast with Yang) encounter characters on the streets of Dark Universe, including the Invisible Man and Ygor, carrying a severed hand. The latter also is pivotal in the Monsters Unchained ride. “Are you the same Igor as Dr. Frankenstein or is this just a generational thing?” Yang asked. (Answer: “The Ygor family has worked for the Frankenstein family for generations.”) Even more Epic The program also includes sound bites from stars such as Vin Diesel, Michelle Yeoh and Bryce Dallas Howard, each of whom have resumes containing Universal franchises. Just when you’ve heard plenty of Epic wordplay in the past few months, Davis ups the ante in closing. “It should be called Epic Epic Universe.” Manganiello has the last words: “The most exciting thing … they’re only just getting started.” Hmmm, what does Joe know? Peacock isn’t done with its Epic storytelling. A three-part docuseries called “Epic Ride: The Story of Universal Theme Parks” will be seen on the streamer later this year. When it comes to dining in Disneyland, you’ve got a TON of options. Want something quick and easy? You’ve got it. Something middle of the road and comforting? Yep, that too. And if you’re looking for something upscale and luxurious, you can find that as well. Time to have some wine and cheese! We recently stopped by Mendocino Terrace at Disney California Adventure to see what was cookin’, and now we’re bringing you our FULL review. Is it worth a stop on your next trip to the Happiest Place on Earth? Find out here! Atmosphere Mendocino Terrace is located in Performance Corridor at DCA, and if that doesn’t sound super familiar, head on over to Mater’s Junkyard Jamboree in Radiator Springs and look across the way — you’ll spot it! Time to wine taste! It’s a pretty small lounge, tucked right near Wine Country Trattoria, Sonoma Terrace, and Magic Key Terrace. Mendocino Terrace But enough about the restaurant — what’s on the menu here?! Menu Mendocino Terrace specializes in three things: wine, cheese, and beer. And that’s exactly what’s on the menu! For food options, you’ve got a Cheese Plate, and non-alcoholic beverages are made up of sodas, water, and Sparkling Apple Cider. ©Disney There are multiple different White Wine and Rosé and Sparkling Wines from all over the world to try, plus a special emphasis on different areas of California. ©Disney Finally, you’ll find a list of Red Wines and Ports, as well as Bottled Beer and Cider from all over the world as well. It’s a great spot to go if you want to try something new! ©Disney And now, onto the main event! Eats As it’s the only food item on the menu, we knew we had to grab the Cheese Plate for $10 to try. This is the Chef’s selection of Cheese and Fruit, served with Crackers. Cheese Plate The Cast Members we spoke to couldn’t tell us exactly what these cheeses were, but the triangle one was dusted with coffee beans which added a bitter taste that went beautifully countered the light and creamy taste of the cheese. The other cheese had been soaked in Cabernet which gave it light hints of dark cherry, and it was nuttier overall. Yum! We think it’s a good pairing with wine for sure, but we wouldn’t come over here just for it. Drinks To drink, we picked up the Sebastiani Cabernet Sauvignon 2022. The Cast Member told us that this is their house brand and one of the more popular options. We really enjoyed this! It was smooth with a sweet blackberry taste, and it paired very well with the cheese. Sebastiani Cabernet Sauvignon 2022 We paid $24 total for both the glass of wine and the cheese plate, and overall, we think it was a great deal! It was a fantastic way to get out of the crowds for a little bit and relax. We highly recommend if you’re wanting a unique experience in the park and want to take a quick break. Nosh or Not This Disney World restaurant is a must-visit if… You’re a big fan of wine You especially love wine and cheese pairings You want somewhere you can get out of the crowds for a bit You should skip this Disney World spot if… You’re not a wine drinker You’re on the go and don’t want to stop to pause for too long You’re not over in Disney California Adventure Overall We think this is a great spot for a quick break on your busy park day, and if you love wine and cheese pairings, there’s no better place inside the park itself. We loved it! In the meantime, we’ll be on the lookout for more restaurant updates from Disney World and beyond. Make sure you stay tuned to the Disney Food Blog for the latest Disney news and more! You’ve probably seen the crowds at Disney World — the shoulder-to-shoulder Main Street mornings, the 25-minute wait for Dole Whip, the family in matching shirts who all cut across your path at the exact wrong time. But here’s the thing: I go to Disney World every day for my job, and I know the one secret to finding empty parks. Magic Kingdom Ready? Here it is: go when it rains. Yep, that’s it. Rain. The forecast calls for showers and suddenly half the crowd vanishes. Locals stay home, some tourists cancel their park day, and those who do show up often leave as soon as the first raindrop hits. And that’s when the magic begins. Why Rainy Days at Disney Can Be the Best Days Most people think “rain = ruined day.” But in reality, Disney World is built for weather — it’s Florida, after all. The rain usually doesn’t last all day, and while everyone else is huddled in their hotel rooms, you can be walking onto rides that normally have 45-minute waits. Magic Kingdom is my personal favorite for rainy days. It’s got the most indoor attractions, from Haunted Mansion to Space Mountain to the Carousel of Progress. You can easily fill your day hopping from one covered ride to the next while the park feels practically empty. Rainy day at Magic Kingdom And here’s the kicker: outdoor rides don’t close for rain — they only close for lightning. So you can still ride Dumbo in the drizzle if you don’t mind getting a little damp. My Crowded Day vs. My Rainy Day Here’s where the difference really hits. I’ve been in Magic Kingdom on some of the busiest days of the year, and even with the best strategy, the best Lightning Lane, and all the insider knowledge in the world, there have been days when I’ve only managed to ride 5–6 attractions from rope drop to fireworks. That’s the reality of a packed park — long lines, bottlenecks, and lots of time waiting instead of riding. Tomorrowland in the rain Now, compare that to one of my favorite rainy days. The park was soaked, the ponchos were out, and a lot of guests bailed early. I stayed. By the end of the night, I had ridden every single ride in Magic Kingdom. No Lightning Lane. No crisscrossing the park at lightning speed. Just steady walk-ons and short waits. It felt like I had the park to myself. That’s the power of embracing a rainy day—it can flip your whole experience from frustrating to fantastic. Outdoor Rides That Do Close for Lightning When lightning is in the area, Disney puts safety first. Outdoor attractions shut down temporarily, but they usually reopen as soon as it’s safe again. Here are the rides you can expect to close during lightning: Big Thunder Mountain Railroad (closed now for refurbishment) Seven Dwarfs Mine Train Tiana’s Bayou Adventure Dumbo the Flying Elephant Astro Orbiter Tomorrowland Speedway Jungle Cruise Magic Carpets of Aladdin Outdoor stage shows & cavalcades Other parks have their lightning-sensitive rides, too (think Test Track, Slinky Dog Dash, Expedition Everest). But if you’re looking for the smoothest rainy day, Magic Kingdom still wins. What to Pack for a Rainy Disney Day If you’re prepared, a rainy day in the parks can be way more fun than a “perfect” sunny one. Here’s my go-to rainy day kit: A good poncho – Trust me, the $15 plastic bags they sell in the park aren’t it. Bring your own sturdy one that you can reuse. Waterproof shoes or sandals – Squelchy sneakers are no fun. Extra socks – I’ll pack two changes, because nothing saves a day like fresh socks. Waterproof shoe covers – Yes, they look silly. But you’ll be laughing when your feet are dry. A small umbrella – Just don’t be that person who whacks people in the crowd with it. A Ziploc bag or waterproof pouch – Perfect for your phone, park map, and other essentials. Pro tip: toss everything in a lightweight backpack. You’ll still be hands-free, and you won’t be that person trying to juggle bags in the rain. We have tested THOUSANDS of dollars worth of gear for the parks, and one thing you DEFINITELY need is the poncho we reviewed here! So next time you see rain in the forecast, don’t cancel your Disney plans — lean into it. While everyone else stays home, you’ll be zipping through rides, ducking into cozy shows, and maybe even doing the unthinkable: riding everything in Magic Kingdom in one day. Halloween is in full swing over at Disneyland Resort, and we couldn’t be more excited! Minnie is looking spook-tacular! Not only is Oogie Boogie Bash happening, but you can also celebrate the holiday by grabbing some of the special snacks around the resort throughout the day. We’ve tried 14 of the snacks around Disneyland, and are here to help you decide if they’re worth your money, or if they’re better to skip! Disney California Adventure Studio Catering Co. Starting out strong, we grabbed the Oogie Boogie Burrito for $14.49. This is made with carne asada, French fries, spicy blue tortilla chips, pico de gallo, guacamole, and crema. Oogie Boogie Burrito This was incredible! So much so that we’ll be thinking about it forever and will be craving it immensely when it’s gone. This burrito has so much flavor and texture — the crunch from the spicy blue chips works perfectly with the creamy texture of the tart guacamole — and there’s also a good amount of heat. Delicious! It is the perfect amount of food for a small meal or a big snack — we can’t recommend it enough! Cozy Cone Motel Next up was the Pumpkin Pie Churro for $6.99, which is a classic churro topped with pumpkin cream and pie crust pieces. Pumpkin Pie Churro If you love the classic Disneyland Churro and want a tasty pumpkin flare, this will do it! It’s pumpkin forward and has that seasonal pumpkin pie taste, and hits the spot. We have no complaints, and recommend it 100% for pumpkin fans. Outdoor Vending Locations At the outdoor vending locations around the park, you can find the Oogie Boogie Chocolate Chip Cookie for $7.75. Oogie Boogie Chocolate Chip Cookie This is such a picture perfect cookie and it’s also pretty great when it comes to taste as well. It’s not technically a chocolate chip cookie, though — it’s more chocolate with chocolate and frosting. It’s very rich but isn’t anything super special. If you want something pretty classic, we recommend, but beware that it melts FAST! Paradise Garden Grill We tried two different options here, starting with the Loaded Chicken Quesadilla with achiote chicken and roasted peppers & onions, topped with chipotle crema, guacamole, and pico de gallo for $14.49. Loaded Chicken Quesadilla This was hands down the best thing our reporter has ever had at Paradise Garden Grill! It’s massive and completely worth the price. We’ve never had a quesadilla that was so loaded with so much filling and flavor! The sauces added to the flavors and the quesadilla as a whole had just the right amount of heat, but if you’re sensitive to heat, beware this one. Delicious! Also available here for the season is the Buñuelos Biónico for $9.99. This is fried tortilla chips coated in cinnamon and sugar, loaded with fresh fruit, toasted coconut, and sweetened condensed banana milk. Buñuelos Biónico We feel like this may be a little overpriced for what you get, but the taste of the treat is on point! The fresh fruit is perfect on a hot day, and the sweet condensed banana milk is refreshing and goes so well with the other ingredients. It may not be the best for picky eaters, but we were big fans! Señor Buzz Churros Here you can grab the Strawberry Horchata Churro, which is a classic churro rolled in horchata sugar, topped with horchata whipped topping, caramel sauce, and fresh strawberries. Strawberry Horchata Churro This was unexpectedly delicious! It looked pretty generic with caramel and strawberries, but it all came together and was delicious. The horchata sugar was great, and the flavor of the whipped cream was refreshing! There were enough strawberries for each bite, but it wasn’t overpowering, and while it didn’t totally remind us of fall, we did enjoy it. Terran Treats Finally, we grabbed the Celestial Chocolate Churro for $7.50, which is a churro rolled in cocoa sugar, topped with pistachio cream, chocolate sauce, crispy phyllo dough crumbles, and crushed pistachios. Celestial Chocolate Churro This, unfortunately, was just flat out not worth it. The whipped cream flavor was off to us — it’s supposed to taste like pistachio cream, but it has a really artificial flavor and totally threw us off. We don’t recommend this one at all and suggest skipping it. Disneyland Park The Golden Horseshoe First up in Disneyland was The Bride Sundae for $9.99, which is brownie cake, vanilla ice cream, cookies and crème chocolate crumble, whipped topping, and chocolate sauce. The Bride Sundae While it wasn’t insanely pretty, this was very good and we recommend it to those looking for a rich and chocolate-y dessert! The rich vanilla ice cream seeped into the brownie cake which had a soft and moist texture with a rich chocolate flavor. Our only complaint is that we would have liked to have some more oreo crumbs, as we only had two bites with it, but otherwise, we think this is a great, simple treat for chocolate lovers. Popcorn Stand near Star Trader Next up was the Spicy Pickle Popcorn for $7.50, which is popcorn tossed with crushed hot cheese puffs and dill pickle seasoning. Spicy Pickle Popcorn We were surprised that we liked this as much as we did! This has a nice mix of flavors though that balances everything out perfectly. The main flavor is the heat and cheesy flavor that comes from the hot Cheetos, followed by a light tangy flavor from the dill seasoning. There’s a bit of that buttery and salty flavor that makes the normal Disneyland popcorn so good, but it’s a lot easier to notice if you’re skipping over the hot Cheetos. Alien Pizza Planet There are two options available here, starting with the Haunted Heatwave Pizza for $9.49. This is spiced blush sauce topped with mozzarella and pepper jack, Italian sausage, classic and crispy cupped pepperoni, smoked bratwurst, and sliced red Fresno chiles garnished with basil and hot honey drizzle. Haunted Heatwave Pizza This is basically a meat lovers pizza with a bit of a sweet heat coming from the hot honey, but it wasn’t as hot as we were expecting. Without paying attention, it’s kind hard to make out what’s what, as everything just kinda tasted like a spicy sausage or pepperoni from the hot honey and chili flakes. We did enjoy it overall, but just know it won’t be something that knocks your socks off! There is some heat! We also grabbed the Pumpkin Spiced Breadsticks for $6.79, which are breadsticks rolled in pumpkin spiced sugar served with a caramel cream cheese sauce. Pumpkin Spiced Breadsticks The caramel sauce here was wonderful, but we felt the the pumpkin spice flavor on the breadsticks was too strong and artificial. The sauce helped tamp down the artificial flavor of the pumpkin a bit, but we wouldn’t have the breadstick without the sauce. Little Red Wagon Then we grabbed the Chili Cheese Corn Dog for $14.79, which is a classic corn dog topped with spicy chili, jalapeño-cilantro crema, cheddar cheese, and crispy onions served with a choice of Cuties Mandarin Oranges or potato chips. Chili Cheese Corn Dog We were originally afraid this combo would be a little too much, but we were wrong! The heavy meaty flavor from the chili took away from the hot dog though, so we really only noticed the texture from the hot dog. The chili wasn’t taste spicy at all to us, and neither was the jalapeño cilantro crema. It didn’t ruin the dish for us, but we were surprised that there wasn’t any spice at all. Yum! The combo of cornbread and chili was our favorite part of this! The sweet and warm corn bread went perfectly with the rich and meaty chili. It can be pretty messy, so be careful and remember to grab lots of napkins. Hungry Bear Barbecue Jamboree We were so excited to try the Cherry Cobbler Funnel Cake Fries for $10.29, which are cinnamon sugar-dusted funnel cake fries, cherry pie filling, vanilla ice cream, and streusel. Cherry Cobbler Funnel Cake Fries There wasn’t too much going on here flavor wise, but that doesn’t mean this wasn’t delicious! It’s a simple dessert where everything works together so well — the cherry pie filling has a fresh and vibrant cherry flavor which went perfectly with the rich vanilla ice cream. The funnel cake fries were warm and fresh with a sweet cinnamon flavor. If you love cherry, we say this is totally worth a try. Harbour Galley Finally, we grabbed the Pumpkin Cookies With Cream Cheese Spread, which are available in a 6-pack for $7.79 or a 13-pack for $13.79. Pumpkin Cookies With Cream Cheese Spread These are phenomenal! They’re served warm, have a nice crunch on the outside, and are soft on the inside. We loved cream cheese spread as well — it has some pumpkin seasoning on top, and we personally love using the spread to make a cookie sandwich. Yum! There are so many dining options in Downtown Disney at Disneyland, it can be hard to decide where to eat! Don’t worry — that’s why we’re here. We’ve eaten at every restaurant across Disneyland, so you know what’s worth the cost and what isn’t. We love a good round of appetizers We headed to Jazz Kitchen Coastal Grill & Patio at Downtown Disney to try their modern twist on fresh seafood with their New Orleans roots. First up, we had the “Celebration Special” French 70 for $17. It’s made with Empress Gin, Prosecco, Lemon Juice, and Lavender Simple Syrup. “Celebration Special” French 70 The main flavor from the drink came from the gin, so it’s a strong one! There were hints of sweetness and floral lavender through each sip, and the prosecco added some nice bubbles to the drink. There was a lemon peel on top, so while we saw the lemon incorporated, the flavor didn’t really come through. We love the purple We started with the Coastal Seafood Martini for $20. This “martini” has Blue Crab, Crawfish Tails, and Gulf Shrimp tossed with Red Onion, Bell Peppers, Jalapeño, Cilantro, and Fresh Lime. Coastal Seafood Martini All of the seafood was fresh with vibrant flavors, and our reporter said the crab was their favorite. While there are bites of jalapeno within, overall, the spice flavor was light and really allowed the seafood to shine. The tortilla chips that came with it were warm and salty, which made for a beautiful combination. So fresh! Then we had the Loaded Tots, which are Crispy Tots topped with Slow Cooked Chili, Apple-Wood Smoked Bacon, Cheddar Cheese, Green Onion, Chipotle drizzle, and Cilantro Lime Crema for $18. Loaded Tots Who doesn’t love loaded tator tots? They were rich and savory and full of meaty flavors from the chili and bacon. The chili had a little bit of kick, which we could taste in every bite, and the chiptole drizzle on top added the spice that we love. We loved the bites that had a bit of sweet and savory on them from the bacon, and the cilantro lime creme added a creamy and refreshing flavor on top. We seriously loved these Finally, we finished with the Beignet Quartet for $21. It’s a sample of four Glazed Beignets with flavors including Bananas Foster, Strawberry, Churro, and Simply Glazed. Beignet Quartet If you’ve been following Disney Food Blog for a while, you know what we LOVE our beignets, and these were no exceptions. Our favorite was the banana foster, which has a light banana taste with hints of caramel and vanilla throughout. The churro and glazed ones were good, but they weren’t incredible standouts for us. For those who love the classic flavors, they’ll want to stick with those. The strawberry one was a bit too sweet and artificial for us, but we enjoyed trying every flavor. Very fluffy Overall, we really enjoyed our visit to the Jazz Kitchen, and when we need that fresh seafood and killer tator tots, we know where to go. It’s been 5-year-old Aurora’s dream to meet her favorite Disney Princess, Cinderella, for as long as she can remember. There was just one small thing standing in the way: Aurora lives in Italy, far away from Cinderella’s castle at a Disney Park. But through the power of some special Disney magic, Aurora’s dream was able to come true with help from Disney Cruise Line. “Today I met Cinderella, and I hugged her!” Aurora said. Making Wishes Come True for Nearly 40 Families During one of the Disney Fantasy’s stops at the port of Civitavecchia this summer, Disney and Make-A-Wish® Italia came together to create an extra special experience for nearly 40 families from across Italy to enjoy a magical day onboard the ship, experiencing all the Disney magic at a time when it is needed the most. “To be able to grant such an important wish, means to give a child the strength to dream, to really believe in the power of dreams, of life, of everything beyond illness,” Aurora’s mother, Daniela, said. For the first time ever in Italy, our crew members brought the happiness, joy and magic of Disney to children living with critical illnesses who had wished to meet their favorite Disney characters. With many Make-A-Wish families unable to travel to a Disney park, this day provided an opportunity for wish children to enjoy a magical day close to home. A Day of Fun and Adventure with Disney Characters Together with their families, the children were the guests of honor onboard, starting their day full of fun with a Royal Tea Party where they met up with their favorite characters, including Disney Princesses, Thor, BB-8, Woody and Jessie. Next, it was off to explore activities in the Oceaneer’s Club hosted by the ship’s crew members. “Witnessing the joy that this day brought to the children and their families was an unforgettable experience that made me deeply grateful for the opportunity to help make a difference in their lives,” said John, Manager of Human Resources onboard the Disney Fantasy and Disney VoluntEAR. “It reminded me of the power of kindness and community, two things that are very dear to my heart.” And what better way to wrap up an amazing day than to celebrate with a dance party hosted by Captain Mickey, Captain Minnie, Donald, Daisy, Goofy and Pluto! “Disney Cruise Line’s warmth, care, and attention to detail created magical moments that these families will cherish forever. For many, it was a once-in-a-lifetime journey filled with joy, laughter, and wonder,” said Luciano Manzo, President & CEO Make-A-Wish® International. The Walt Disney Company is the largest wish granter in the world for Make-A-Wish, granting a wish every hour of every day. This special event in Italy is one of the many experiences that Disney and Make-A-Wish have worked together to create. Since the very first official wish was granted at Disneyland Resort nearly 45 years ago, Disney has helped fulfil over 170,000 wishes globally with Make-A-Wish, delivering happiness when it’s needed most to wish kids and their families. We recently stopped by Woody’s Lunch Box in Disney’s Hollywood Studios to try out a NEW arrival! While it may still feel like summer at Disney World, Halloween is in full swing, and this includes some new treats with fall flavors. Sid Spiced Berry Lunch Box Tart Over at Woody’s Lunch Box, you can find the iconic Lunch Box Tart! You can find a daily lunch box tart, and there is often a limited-time flavor to try out. A new flavor has arrived, and we had to give it a taste! For a limited time, you can grab the Sid Spiced Berry Lunch Box Tart for $4.99. It is a spiced berry-filled pastry topped with black marshmallow fondant, red sprinkles, silver sprinkles, and a white chocolate skull. A new arrival! We thought this tart had just the right amount of sweetness, without being a sugar overload. This tart had lots of chocolate flavor that paired great with the spiced berry flavor. There was definitely quite a bit of ginger and spice to the filling, so if you aren’t a fan of spiced chocolate, you won’t like this one. Sid Spiced Berry Lunch Box Tart The white chocolate skull was cute, but it didn’t complement the rest of the flavors too well. This might be a piece you eat by itself! This lunch box tart is a great deal for the price! While we definitely ate the whole thing ourselves, we could also see this being a good treat to share. If chocolate and spice is your jam, you need to plan a stop at Woody’s Lunch Box! Sid Spiced Berry Lunch Box Tart We love a good Lunch Box Tart, and it is one of our favorite snacks in Hollywood Studios! While you are at Woody’s Lunch Box, also make sure to check out the Totchos. These are another of our favorite Hollywood Studios snacks and they are pure comfort food. Nachos meet crispy tater tots! Yum! Have you ever heard of ‘coolcations’? ©Disney While we love going to our vacation staples like Disney World, it’s no secret that the summer heat can be a serious turn-off for vacationers. While we love some hot cheddar soup on a summer day in the parks, the heat can be a real damper on the trip. Now, it looks like a new type of vacation can solve this annual issue. According to the New York Times, “Coolcations” are the next big thing. Coolcations refer to the vacations that are booked for the simple goal of avoiding the heat in traditional summer spots. Skagway as Seen from Disney Alaskan Cruise They’re vacations that take place in cooler climates, so vacationers can enjoy the heat, but it seems like the crowds are catching on to the trend. Coolcations are driving tourists to Nordic countries, specifically as temperatures rise around Europe. While it is exciting for the region, it also presents environmental and social sustainability concerns. ©istock Norway countryside and farms in Aurlandsfjord branch of Sognefjord, Scandinavia In 2023, Norway reported more overnight stays than ever, plus two of its airports had a record number of travelers that year. In 2025, a study found that travel to Mediterranean spots fell 8% and 28% of European travelers are looking for cooler climate vacation spots. The New York Times even shared that reservations from France and Italy to Sweden rose 50 to 60%. ©istock Beautiful Nature Norway natural landscape aerial photography. Not only are Coolcations appealing because of the weather, but they also tend to have lower crowds. In Sweden, the region is also developing sustainability programs that will offer free museum entry for visitors who bike or collect trash. They’re also creating a self-driving mystery tour in the Faroe Islands to “get tourists off the beaten track.” ©istock Perfect reflection of the Reine village on the water of the fjord in the Lofoten Islands, Norway While it can be fun and exciting for the region, it does present some concerns on the environmental impact. Synnove Solemdal, the director of the Sunnmore branch of the Norwegian Tourist Association, said, “In Norway, we feel very strongly about the responsibility we have to nature. People grow up learning how to use it and protect it. But people from other countries may not have that knowledge, so protecting nature becomes more and more challenging.” ©istock Breathtaking view of Sunnylvsfjorden fjord and famous Seven Sisters waterfalls, near Geiranger village in western Norway. To help prevent this in 2025, the government approved a 3% tourist tax on overnight stays and cruise travelers. While we never want our vacations to cost more, we love the balance of exploring new places while protecting the areas we’re traveling to. We also love the idea of coolcations because, as much as we love our days in Disney World, a break from the heat sounds amazing! Walt Disney World If you’re looking for the Disney touch while still enjoying a break from the heat, Disney offers Adventures by Disney as well as stops in Alaska with the Disney Cruise Line. We’re eager to plan our next coolcation (or any vacation) for that matter! As always, be sure to keep following DFB for more travel news, trends, and updates. “Ever wonder how Disney dreams become reality? It’s something called Imagineering!” It’s the year 2000, and you’re watching Disney Channel. If you have the sudden urge to draw Mickey ears with an imaginary wand, you also probably know who I am and I’m so excited to tell you I’m back. Yes, It’s me, Tom Morrow 2.0! I’m just as curious, chatty, and full of questions as ever and ready to answer what’s on your mind in the year 2025. But, if you’re brand new here, and not a millennial (I hear that’s what they call them), you’re probably wondering who I am, and why my return is so exciting. Well good news, because I’m here to bring you up to speed on my glorious return faster than you can say “any questions?” Who is Tom Morrow 2.0? Why, that’s a very philosophical question. I assume you want to know my history, right? I’m a mini-matronic robot who enjoys hosting educational shows, making puns, and exploring the magic behind Disney Experiences. I made my debut at EPCOT’s Innoventions, where I used to live, and quickly became a fan-favorite for my curiosity and my car. My car is back, but the Imagineers say that Innoventions is not. You may also remember me from the early-2000s Disney Channel segment “Imagineer That!” Back then, I got to hang out with Imagineers and uncover the science, storytelling, and engineering behind rides, fireworks, Audio-Animatronics… basically, anything that goes boom or whoosh or sparkles! Where Have I Been? My Innoventions days wrapped up in 2007, and I retired to the not-so-quiet halls of Walt Disney Imagineering in Glendale, California. I spent my days recharging, running diagnostics, and occasionally eavesdropping on Imagineers (while silently critiquing their coffee habits). Sounds like some pretty good downtime, yeah? You may be thinking, “Wow, Tom, why’d you decide to come back now?” Well, Imagineers have been cooking up more magic than ever— with projects currently in development around the world. With so much going on, people have more questions than ever about what’s going on at Walt Disney Imagineering, so the Imagineers got to work on “rebooting the ol’ circuits” — their words, not mine—because I’m the right robot for the job.! A team of dreamers and doers from all over Imagineering assembled to bring me back online. First, they caught me up on what’s trending and what all the kids are saying these days. Then they teamed me up with our research and development techies to update my design and motion programming — aka, a system upgrade with extra charm installed. They even refurbished my iconic car, redecorated my workspace, and basically made sure I’m ready for my big comeback. And with that, I’m here! What’s Next for Tom? With a shiny new parking spot, I’m ready to ask more questions, make bad puns, and dive deep into the magical minds of Imagineers everywhere. In this reboot of “Imagineer That!,” you’ll hear directly from the creative minds behind Disney Experiences. And yes, I’ll be there every step of the way, asking the your questions and some you didn’t even know you had — and maybe cracking a joke or two while I’m at it. Oh, and here’s a clue (you didn’t hear from me,) be sure to keep your eyes peeled during each episode. You never know what you might spot in the background. Check out the first episode of “Imagineer That!” and check back here for more adventures with yours truly: Tom Morrow 2.0, Imagineering’s tiniest, talkiest, and most inquisitive host. Next episode of Imagineer That! will be loading September 15th! Want to hear more about what’s being dreamed up, designed, and created? Magic Kingdom is changing faster than you can say “bibbidi bobbidi boo.” Magic Kingdom Between major ride closures, brand-new experiences, and even permanent overhauls, it feels like the park is rewriting its playbook in real time. And if you’re planning a trip soon, you definitely don’t want to walk in unprepared. That’s why we’re breaking down the new “rules” you need to know to avoid confusion, disappointment, or just wasting time on things that aren’t even open anymore. Let’s get into it. Rule #1: Don’t Expect to Spend All Evening at Beak and Barrel There’s a brand-new hot spot opening in Magic Kingdom, and it’s going to be the place everyone wants to go. Beak and Barrel, the Pirates of the Caribbean-themed lounge, officially opens its doors on August 29th, 2025. Disney has added a key restriction here: guests can only spend 45 minutes inside the lounge. ©Disney That’s right — this is not a place where you’ll be hanging out all night long. The rule is in place to keep crowds moving, since demand will be through the roof when it first opens. On top of that, Disney launched Advance Dining Reservations on August 20th, and a months-worth sold out in mere minutes. Translation? Treat this like you’re snagging a new ride opening. Plan ahead, set an alarm, and don’t assume you’ll be able to just stroll in. Rule #2: Accept That Big Thunder Mountain Railroad Is Gone for a While Here’s a tough one to swallow. Big Thunder Mountain Railroad has been closed since January 6th, 2025, and it won’t reopen until sometime in 2026. That’s a multi-year closure, which is rare for Magic Kingdom. Construction at Big Thunder Mountain Railroad Disney has shared that the beloved coaster will come back with “a little bit of new magic,” but the bigger story here is what’s happening around it. Construction on the new Piston Peak Cars-themed land and the eventual Villains Land expansion means this area of the park is going to feel very different for the next couple of years. So if Big Thunder is a must-do for you, you’ll need to wait until it reopens — and maybe start getting excited about what’s coming next instead. Rule #3: Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin Is Powering Down Another classic is taking a break, but this one’s for a glow-up. Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin closed on August 4th, 2025 for some serious enhancements, and it won’t reopen until 2026. It’s closed! When it does come back, expect an entirely refreshed experience. We’re talking new handheld blasters, interactive targets that actually light up when you hit them, and even “Buddy,” a brand-new support-bot character designed by Imagineering and Pixar. ©Disney The ride vehicles are also getting a sleek redesign with built-in monitors that track your score. Basically, Space Ranger Spin is leveling up from retro fun to modern interactive gameplay. But for now, the rule is simple: don’t count on riding it during your 2025 visit. ©Disney Rule #4: The Dumbo Playground Is Closed If your kids love blowing off steam at the play area next to Dumbo the Flying Elephant, you’ll want to prepare them ahead of time. The playground is closed through “later in 2025.” Dumbo the Flying Elephant The ride itself is still spinning, but the play space that many families rely on for a break is unavailable. This is one of those small closures that can cause big headaches if you were banking on it for downtime. Bring a backup plan for little ones who need to get their wiggles out. Rule #5: Say Goodbye to Tom Sawyer Island and the Riverboat This one is permanent. As of July 7th, 2025, Tom Sawyer Island and the Liberty Square Riverboat are officially closed forever to make way for the all-new Piston Peak Cars-themed land in Frontierland. Tom Sawyer Island is now CLOSED While it’s sad to say goodbye to these nostalgic classics, the new land is shaping up to be a major expansion. Guests can look forward to a rally-race attraction, a family-friendly ride for younger kids, and a full National Park-inspired design. Piston Peak ©Disney Expect waterfalls, geysers, and plenty of Cars-themed details. The Walt Disney World Railroad is even being adjusted to accommodate the new footprint. The rule here? Don’t expect the Frontierland you remember. It’s in full transformation mode. Rule #6: Plan Around Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party Seasonal events bring their own rules, and this one is a biggie. From August 15th through October 31st, 2025, Magic Kingdom closes early on party nights for regular day guests. That means if you’re visiting on one of those select dates, the park will close at 6PM, no exceptions. 2024 Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party Map The Halloween Party itself runs from 7PM to midnight, and if you’ve got a ticket, you’re in for parades, fireworks, and all the candy you can carry. But if you’re not attending? You’ll lose hours of evening park time. So make sure to check the event calendar before locking in your Magic Kingdom day, or you could be in for a very short visit. The Bottom Line Disney World is always evolving, but right now, Magic Kingdom feels like it’s in the middle of a major transformation. Between long-term closures, a shiny new lounge, and an entire land under construction, there are plenty of “new rules” to keep track of. That’s why it’s so important to do your research and stay updated before your trip. Knowing these changes can save you from disappointment and help you make the most of your park day. After all, even when rides are closed and lands are being rebuilt, there’s still plenty of magic to be found at the Most Magical Place on Earth. Stay tuned to DFB for all your Disney World news! Southwest Airlines has been undergoing multiple changes throughout this past year, and many of them have not been popular with consumers. Southwest Airlines They got rid of their policy that would allow passengers two free checked bags, and they’re also assigning seats for the first time beginning in 2026. However, now another change has just hit the airline that we have a feeling many passengers won’t be happy with. According to The New York Times, Southwest Airlines is now changing another long-standing policy beginning January 27th, 2026. From that point on, “the airline will require passengers who ‘encroach upon the neighboring seat’ to proactively purchase an additional ticket, which might not be refunded.” Southwest at MCO Previously, Southwest’s policy was that passengers could either pay the cost of an extra seat ahead of time, BUT later receive a refund, or they could show up at the airport and request an extra seat at no charge. These inclusive policies made the airline the preferred airline for many plus-size passengers. However, now a second seat will not be refunded “unless the flight departs with at least one open seat and both seats are purchased within the same fare class.” Passengers will also be required to purchase this other seat in advance of their trip; showing up to the airport and requesting an additional seat will no longer be allowed. Southwest Tigress Osborn, the executive director of the National Association to Advance Fat Acceptance, called the change devastating and said, “Southwest was the only beacon of hope for many fat people who otherwise wouldn’t have been flying…And now that beacon has gone out.” She also mentioned that many plus-size passengers are already hesitant to fly due to the threat of harassment on board. ©Southwest Airlines Kaycee Bivens, a South Carolina travel agent who works exclusively with plus-size passengers, pointed out that the additional cost may mean fewer customers for Southwest, stating, “If you’re already budgeting and now you’ve got to add $300 to $400 to your budget, that may mean [less] travelers.” Additionally, she pointed out that while this change further aligns Southwest with other airlines in their policy similarities, Southwest’s policy, “was not just an industry leader but an example to other industries that accommodating people in the body they have today is an important business practice.” More Recent Air Travel News The TSA Rule You NEED To Know When Flying with a PetNEWS: Air Canada Flight Suspends All Flights Due to StrikeThis Budget Airline Just Added a NEW All-You-Can-Fly Pass!Sorry To Tell You But Flights Are Getting WAYYYYY BumpierI Was Today Years Old When I Learned This Hotel Has Its Own TSA Security Checkpoint We’ll be sure to keep you updated on all the latest travel news so you can feel prepared when you fly, so stay tuned to DFB.
