  1. Strolling EPCOT’s World Showcase can give you the sense that you’re visiting another country between the smells, the decor, the shops, and the attractions, but this popular Disney World restaurant takes that notion one step further. If you’ve ever truly wanted to immerse yourself in another culture through food, festivities, and music, there’s one specific restaurant you CAN’T afford to miss on your next visit. Biergarten We recently stopped by Biergarten at EPCOT to scope out one of the liveliest meals you’ll find at Disney World, and now we’re bringing you our FULL review. Is it worth a stop on your next trip to the Most Magical Place on Earth? Find out here! Atmosphere Inside this restaurant is where you can celebrate Oktoberfest all year long! Here at Biergarten, you’ll feast on authentic German cuisine while enjoying the lively entertainment within its open dining room. We love the live entertainment! As you step through its doors, you’re immediately greeted by its open, yet amphitheater-style tiered levels to its dining room as your host brings you around to your table. Now’s certainly not the time to be shy, as you could find yourself making new friends and sharing a table with other diners. Time to make friends! After you’ve been seated and your drink order is taken, your server will direct your attention to the buffet stations that are towards the center of the room. Buffet But enough about the restaurant — what’s on the menu here?! Menu Since this is a buffet, you’ll pay one set price for most everything you’ll find on the menu. For adults, this meal will cost you $49, and for children ages 3-9, you can expect to pay $28. The buffet here is fairly extensive, so Disney World only lists a partial assortment on their menu online, but you can expect to find salads, traditional sausages, Sauerkraut, Schnitzel, rotisserie chicken, Spätzle, and Nudel Gratin here to grub. ©Disney They’ve got a small assortment of non-alcoholic beverages to choose from, like sodas, tea, coffee, and German Spezi… ©Disney …as well as a healthy beer selection. ©Disney There are also a few white and red wine offerings, too! ©Disney And if you’re feeling up for shots — they can accommodate that request. ©Disney And now, onto the main event — the food! Eats We loaded up our plate with many favorites from this restaurant, starting off with the Pork Schnitzel. While our reporter isn’t the biggest fan of this dish, it clearly has that meaty flavor you’d expect and is breaded well. We personally preferred the Chicken Schnitzel, which is closer to chicken tenders in the best way. You can grab lots of different sauces to go with your meal, such as mustard, hot mustard, ketchup, and even apple sauce! Our plate! As for the Pretzel Bread, we could eat our weight’s worth in it and still not be satisfied. It’s AMAZING. It’s beautifully soft on the inside and goes beautifully with the beer cheese soup. Pretzel Bread One of our favorites here is the Baked Mac and Cheese — it’s creamy, gooey, and almost a little greasy on the inside in the best way. If you’re someone who really loves cheese, this is 100% a dish you need to grab! The Vegan Pot Roast also really shocked us, because we would have believed that it was a regular pork pot roast. The meat was extremely tender, though, and while we’re usually used to lots of vegetables with pot roast, this seemed to only have carrots. Overall, we were very impressed with everything we tried! The Mac and Cheese is our favorite! Then it was time for dessert! Nothing here really stood out to us, unfortunately, but our favorite was the Salted Caramel Cheesecake Bite. It has a great salty/savory flavor thanks to the pretzel on top, but then the inside was gooey, creamy, and tasted just like a salted caramel cheesecake. Salted Caramel Cheesecake Bite The Chocolate Cupcake wasn’t anything to write home about, but if you’re someone who really loves chocolate or is looking for a classic dessert, it may be a good option. Our second favorite dessert was the Apple Strudel, which has cinnamon apple on the inside and strudel on the outside. We drizzled some of the vanilla sauce over it, too, and that really elevated it! Apple Strudel The Trifle was unfortunately a little dry for us, and we wished the chocolate had been more of a frosting rather than a pudding, but we did enjoy the cherry flavor in it. The Lemon Raspberry Square treat we had was just okay, too — it’s a little too tangy for us, and it was too floury in consistency, so we couldn’t get past that texture. Our entire dessert plate! The Chocolate Chip Cookie actually REALLY surprised us, because it tasted homemade. It was ooey gooey and was so easy to pull apart and munch on, but at the end of the day, it IS still just a chocolate chip cookie. Overall, we enjoyed most of these, but we don’t really think it’s worth stopping by JUST for these. Drinks To drink, we picked up a liter of Warsteiner Dunkel for $18.75. This is a classic German-style dark pilsner that’s a deep, chestnut brown color. It has a smooth, toasty malt flavor and mocha aromas, so much so that it almost tastes like espresso to us! While it’s very stout and heavy in flavor, it’s not going to weigh your stomach down, which we appreciated. Warsteiner Dunkle We can totally see how this is a favorite at this restaurant, and how you can just keep drinking it without getting tired of it. Our reporter isn’t the biggest beer fan normally, and they were a BIG fan of this one! Nosh or Not This Disney World restaurant is a must-visit if… You’re a big fan of German cuisine You’re more of an adventurous eater and love trying new dishes You love dinner and a show! You should skip this Disney World spot if… You’re a picky eater You want a quiet meal and/or don’t do well in loud environments You’re not comfortable being seated right next to other parties at the same table. Overall Not only were we really big fans of our meal, but we also adore the entertainment that you get to experience during your meal! The performers do a lot of classic German polka music, some of which is inspired by Disney songs, and they’ll even invite you out onto the dance floor at times, as well as encourage you to toast in your seats at certain points. It’s so lively and fun! The price of this meal is hard to justify for just the buffet itself, even though it is a really solid meal, but once you see how great the entertainment is, then the price makes more sense. 3. What’s it like to visit Walt Disney World EVERY SINGLE DAY? Well, we’ve been doing it for over 15 years, and in that time we’ve learned a lot. Magic Kingdom From knowing where to dine to which rides you might want to avoid, there’s plenty to know and “rules” to follow when heading to the “Most Magical Place on Earth.” Fear not, however, if you’ve got an upcoming trip, have Disney World on the brain, or just want to know some simple tips that’ll help you make the most out of your Disney World vacation, you’ve come to the right place! Whether it’s your first trip or your 100th, these nine DFB rules will help you have the best possible Disney World trip! DFB RULE #1: Escape Listen. Sometimes the parks get a little too hectic even for us. And that’s saying a LOT — because our team is in Disney World every single day. So it’s good to track down little pockets of peace inside the parks that’ll help you get away from the crowds when you need a quick breather and a reset. Skipper Canteen Mess Hall Some of our FAVORITE places to escape to when things feel a little TOO hectic are: Chill indoor attractions (like Carousel of Progress in Magic Kingdom and The American Adventure in EPCOT) Hidden areas off the beaten path (like the little side street off Main Street, U.S.A. between Crystal Arts and Uptown Jewelers in Magic Kingdom and the tucked away seating areas along Discovery River in Disney’s Animal Kingdom) And underrated table service restaurants that usually have last-minute reservations (like Nine Dragons in EPCOT and Jungle Navigation Co. Skipper Canteen in Magic Kingdom) Carousel of Progress I’m a Raging Introvert, and These Are the Quietest Times To Visit Magic Kingdom DFB RULE #2: STAY HYDRATED Naw, this isn’t just a DFB rule — this should REALLY be the LAW. As in… if WE don’t see you staying hydrated throughout the day, we should be able to pull a citizen’s arrest for your OWN SAFETY. Water Fountain Refill Station If you’re going to the parks at ANY time of the year — winter, spring, summer, or fall — then you’ve GOTTA make sure you know the best way to keep yourself (and your fellow group members) all stocked up on H20 and electrolytes all trip long. Hydro Flask Maybe that means bringing a refillable water bottle everywhere you go. Or maybe that means grabbing FREE water cups around the quick service locations as often as possible. Honestly, even if it means having to purchase the overpriced water bottles inside the park, have at it. Just as long as you’re staying hydrated and keeping away the horrible implications of dehydration (like headaches, irritability, nausea, blackouts, you name it), then we’re on YOUR side with however you wanna keep the water flowing. YAY free water! Do You Really Need Liquid IV to Stay Hydrated in Disney World? DFB RULE #3: Ride PeopleMover Welcome, fellow PeopleMover Fan Club members! AJ is the self-proclaimed president of this PeopleMover Fan Club, and we’re all very active members! Today’s meeting centers around the ONE RULE of the PeopleMover Fan Club: You’ve GOTTA ride this one when you’re in Magic Kingdom. Queue for the PeopleMover But — honestly — there IS something so soothing about riding those low-key, b-tier rides in the parks (especially if you’re tired of waiting in long lines for things). Along with PeopleMover, you might also be interested in checking out other super chill attractions that DON’T usually have too high of waits, such as: “it’s a small world” and Under the Sea: Journey of the Little Mermaid in Magic Kingdom Living with the Land, Grand Fiesta Tour: Starring the Three Caballeros, AND Spaceship Earth in EPCOT Peoplemover As the President of the PeopleMover Fan Club, I’m Begging You To Do This in Disney World. Please! DFB RULE #4: Know The Best Bathrooms When you gotta go, you GOTTA GO. But you don’t wanna GO and have to wait in a long line just for a free stall — OR feel like you’re all cramped up with everyone and their mother inside the same bathroom. Bathrooms SO, here are a few of our favorite private porcelain retreats that we sure hope serve you as well as they’ve served us: The bathrooms at this Caribbean Beach Skyliner station are rarely ever busy, they’re super clean, and they’re QUIET. In Tomorrowland at Magic Kingdom, head over to the right of the Space Mountain entrance and find the restrooms behind the Rockettower Plaza Stage. These have quite a few stalls and are usually a lot calmer and cleaner than other Tomorrowland pit stops. In Town Center at Disney Springs — inside the little alleyway leading up to the Disney bus stop — you’ll find some private restrooms tucked away, outta sight outta mind. AND over by Imagination Pavilion in EPCOT, head over to the right side of the ride’s building to find some secret restrooms tucked away and off the beaten path. BATHROOMS! 5 New Things EPCOT World Showcase Bathrooms Desperately Need DFB RULE #5: Don’t ALWAYS Listen To Aunt Susan Bless Dear Aunt Susan. We love her and all, but — by golly — she sure does lead us astray sometimes. Especially when she’s under the impression that all Disney restaurants are basically the same, so it doesn’t really matter which one you decide to eat at. YES, IT DOES MATTER, AUNT SUSAN. IT MATTERS A LOT. Cosmic Ray’s in Magic Kingdom Ordering a regular burger at, say, Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Cafe in Magic Kingdom is gonna be a whole DIFFERENT experience versus ordering a BBQ burger at Regal Eagle Smokehouse in EPCOT. And churros from a vendor cart around the parks might be disappointing, but churros from Nomad Lounge in Animal Kingdom are gonna be possibly the BEST churros you’ve ever chowed down on! They were sooooo good! Dear Aunt Susan may not realize it, but there are ENDLESS possibilities and dining varieties all around Disney World — which is why we recently revamped our DFB Guide to Walt Disney World Dining to really ILLUSTRATE just how vibrantly DIFFERENT each Disney dining experience can be! If you wanna check out our new guide (just to prove Aunt Susan wrong), go ahead and check out the DFBstore website — and make sure to type in the code YOUTUBE to save some money on your total purchase! DFB Guides “Aisle Lice” Are Causing Chaos in Disney World Restaurants, and We Need To Talk About It DFB RULE #6: Beware Barf Alley It’s a dangerous world out there, friends — so we need to watch each other’s backs. And friends don’t let friends simply ride Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind AND Mission: SPACE in EPCOT back-to-back… not without WARNING them of the barf alley implications, at least. Mission Space Mission: SPACE and Cosmic Rewind are both neighboring rides inside World Discovery that rely on a SPINNING mechanic to make their rides all the more THRILLING. And you know what? It works. A little TOO well sometimes. So if you’re someone who’s prone to motion sickness (or even if you’re someone who can usually handle rides okay, but your body DOES reach a limit where enough is enough), be sure to pack your preferred over-the-counter tummy soothers (OR swing by EPCOT’s first aid center for a free sample-size of medication IF you forget yours back home). Inside Disney World’s Cosmic Rewind Coaster: Everything You Don’t See When the Lights Are Out DFB RULE #7: Plastic Cheese Is A MUST That gooey, golden, nacho-cheese-like sauce has been a DFB staple dipping sauce for years and years and YEARS now — and we’re not planning on abandoning it anytime soon! Plastic cheese is MOST prominent over in Disney’s Hollywood Studios (where you can find it at places like Backlot Express, as well as several of the food stands along Sunset Boulevard), BUT Magic Kingdom also keeps hold of this cheesy goodness at quick services like Casey’s Corner. A dip! Typically, plastic cheese will cost ya about $1 extra (but that $1 extra means ENHANCED flavor for your fries, corn dog nuggets, onion rings, tater tots, or whatever other savory snack you think needs a little perking up! FULL LIST of Eats on the Cheese Crawl at EPCOT’s 2025 Food and Wine Festival DFB RULE #8: Appreciate The Miniature Stuff If you know AJ Wolfe at all, then you KNOW how much she LOVES normal things that’ve been shrunken down into TINY things. Tiny Train Town But Disney likes to miniaturize things, too. So, IF you wanna track down the tiny stuff and go “awwwww it’s so CUTE” like we do every time we’re hanging around the parks, here are just a few of the places where you need to go: In Magic Kingdom, Disney has hidden several tiny doors throughout the lands. We’ve found tiny doors… In the wall surrounding Cinderella Castle Next to the bathrooms by Gaston’s Tavern On the second floor of the Frontierland train station Outside the Critter Co-op Gift Shop And at the bottom of the ticket booth in front of Big Top Treats. In Hollywood Studios, the Walt Disney Presents self-guided tour has several models illustrating the parks’ early years and development phases. (There’s just something about seeing a teeny-weeny Jungle Cruise boat that makes my heart all happy) AND — of course — let’s not forget about TINY TRAIN TOWN right outside the Germany Pavilion in EPCOT. (Those little villagers are always up to SOME sort of mischief…) Model EPCOT’s Tiny Train Town Has Criminal Vandalism and a Sasquatch Problem DFB RULE #9: Ziploc Baggies Are A MUST We don’t wanna be dramatic or anything, but Ziploc baggies have saved our lives on more than one occasion. They saved us when we stepped in a puddle and needed to switch out our wet socks for a dry pair. They saved us when a sudden Orlando rainstorm hit and we realized a BACKPACK was still open (but the phone and charger had already been tucked safely away in a baggie). And they saved us when we purchased a carrot cake whoopie pie and could only take a few bites before we were already snacked out (so we got to save it for later and eat it for breakfast the next day)! ©Amazon So anytime we’re packing for Disney World trips, we make it a RULE that we pack MULTIPLE ziploc baggies — because there’s a HIGH chance we’re gonna use all of them before we head back home. The Park Bags Disney Grandmas Are Wearing to Disney World Right Now And there you have it! Hopefully, our rules help you have your best Disney World trip yet! 4. Southwest Airlines has been changing A LOT over the past year. Some of those changes have been controversial, like getting rid of free checked bags and adding seating assignments. Other changes have made sense, like new security updates to planes. Southwest at MCO Well, Southwest Airlines announced a new policy that will affect wheelchair users. When this rule goes into effect, wheelchair users will need to remove their lithium devices before boarding. According to People, the new rule will go into effect on September 25th. On and after that date, wheelchair and scooter users will need to remove the lithium batteries from their devices before boarding. Dave Hunt, Southwest’s vice president of safety and security, said this was being implemented “to enhance safety and align with international standards, further protecting our customers and our crew members.” Flying with Southwest Customers will have to take the lithium batteries out of their mobility devices and carry them into the cabin. However, the batteries will not count as a carry-on or personal item. Southwest has also announced that lithium batteries brought on board could not exceed 300 watt-hours — this new rule goes into effect on January 11th, 2026. ©Southwest Airlines This change comes after a slew of fires on planes caused by lithium batteries. According to the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), there were a record 89 lithium-ion battery-related events on flights in 2024 alone. This is also why Southwest previously implemented a rule that mobile charging devices must be visible while in use during flights, while the use of these devices is prohibited when stored in carry-on bags or overhead bins. 5. While Walt Disney World’s four theme parks are often full of guests that make it feel like every inch of them is packed, the truth is that all of them have abandoned buildings right smack dab in the middle of their busiest areas. Check out the windows! From a long-abandoned EPCOT pavilion to the husk of a several-times-transformed opening year Magic Kingdom attraction, these structures have been sitting empty for years — sometimes decades. In fact, in my 30 years of visiting Disney World, most of them have been vacant much longer than they were filled. Stitch’s Great Escape The show building at the front of Tomorrowland that once held Stitch’s Great Escape has actually been home to three different attractions over the years. Mission to Mars, a clone of the Disneyland original, opened in the Tomorrowland space in December 1971 — just months after the Magic Kingdom opened — and operated until October 1993. Alien Encounter ©Disney It was replaced by the beloved (and reviled) ExtraTERRORestial Alien Encounter from 1995 until 2003. The attraction was retooled into the much-bemoaned Stitch’s Great Escape in 2004, and remained in operation for the most part until 2018. The space has remained vacant, short of some limited meet & greets, since. ©Disney Stitch’s Great Escape Wonders of Life Wonders of Life opened to much fanfare at EPCOT in 1989. The pavilion, dedicated to health care, the human body, physical fitness, medicine and nutrition, was initially a hit thanks to the advanced-for-the-time simulator attraction Body Wars and the popular Cranium Command show. However. As EPCOT evolved with the additions of Test Track, Mission Space, and Soarin’ in the late 90s and early 2000s, its popularity sagged. ©Wikipedia The pavilion closed in 2007, and for the next decade, it was used as a temporary Festival Center during the park’s annual events. In 2019, Disney announced plans to turn the space into the new Play! Pavilion, which would be themed to be an “interactive futuristic city where guests would be able to interact with a variety of Disney characters.” As with many projects during this period, work on the Play! Pavilion was paused. However, unlike much of the rest of EPCOT’s “reimagining”, work never resumed. In 2023, Disney confirmed that the space was being “reevaluated” and the former Wonders of Life has remained vacant since. ©Disney || Play Pavilion Concept Art Tortuga Tavern Currently, the Pirates of the Caribbean-themed Beak and Barrel is dominating the psyche of Magic Kingdom guests. Hence why many have almost forgotten that the park previously had another — much less intricately themed — pirate-themed eatery: Tortuga Tavern. Tortuga Tavern Originally opened in 2011, the quick-service location offered a menu mainly consisting of Mexican food. The restaurant closed in the summer of 2024, initially for refurbishment, and has simply stayed closed since, though the space is accessible. Jellyrolls Jellyrolls, a dueling piano bar, became a favorite for many guests thanks to its talented pianists, who would often engage in improvisational bits in the midst of performing the biggest songs of the ’70s, ’80s, ’90s, and 00’s (which guests could specifically request using $1 and $5 bills). In addition, the 18+ club offered a full bar — including the nightly “Jellyroll of the Day” drink special — and popcorn to snack on. Jellyrolls Despite the bar’s cult favorite status, JellyRolls closed for good (on Disney World property) in April of 2025, joining other BoardWalk mainstays like the ESPN Club and Big River Grille & Brewing Works in the Disney history books. The site is currently empty. Jellyrolls Millennium Village The centerpiece of the park’s Millennium Celebration, this purpose-built 60,000 square foot area housed exhibits – ranging from small presentations to elaborately themed environments, and even a virtual reality “ride” – showcasing countries that weren’t represented in World Showcase proper, including Brazil, Chile, Israel, Saudi Arabia, Sweden, and others. The Millennium Village The Millennium Village opened in October of 1999 and became quite popular, so much so that many hoped the concept might become a permanent part of EPCOT after the celebrations ended. However, that wasn’t meant to be, as the village closed when the celebration ended in January of 2001. The structure is currently used during Food & Wine and other EPCOT festivals; however, for most of the year, it sits empty and vacant, taking up a potential World Showcase expansion pad. Millennium Village These abandoned buildings are sitting right in the middle of some of Disney World’s busiest and crowded spots. 8. Disney, Universal Pictures, and Warner Bros. Discovery have sued a Chinese artificial intelligence image and video generator for copyright infringement, according to The Hollywood Reporter. ©Disney | Walt Disney Company Headquarters This is the second lawsuit over alleged copyright infringement that Disney, Warner Bros., and Universal have joined together on, with the first being against Midjourney for its image-generating service. The lawsuit was filed on September 16th in the California federal court and accuses MiniMax of building its business by pillaging the studios’ intellectual property (IP). The company’s service, Hailuo AI, allows users to generate content of iconic copyrighted characters. Mickey and Steamboat Willie Disney, Universal, and Warner Bros. have characterized MiniMax’s alleged infringement as an existential threat. The lawsuit claims it’s “only a matter of time until Hailuo AI can generate unauthorized, infringing videos” that are “substantially longer, and even eventually the same duration as a movie or television program.” Universal Orlando AI companies have been training their technology on data and content from the internet for years without compensating creators, which has led to lawsuits from authors, record labels, news organizations, studios, and more. They contend that some AI tools “erode demand for their content.” Motion Picture Association CEO Charles Rivkin said in a statement that AI companies will be “held accountable for infringing on the rights of American creators wherever they are located.” He added, “We remain concerned that copyright infringement, left unchecked, threatens the entire American motion picture industry.” Rex Hailuo AI is marketed by MiniMax as a “Hollywood studio in your pocket” and uses studios’ characters in promotional materials, according to the lawsuit. The complaint also alleges that when prompted with Darth Vader, the service generates an image of the character with a MiniMax watermark. It can also generate videos of Disney, Universal, and Warner Bros. characters such as Minions, Guardians of the Galaxy, and Superman, the lawsuit claims. ©Illumination The lawsuit is seeking unspecified damages, including disgorgement of profits and a court order barring MiniMax from continuing to exploit studios’ works. We’ll continue to keep an eye on this lawsuit in addition to the Midjourney lawsuit Disney has filed. In the meantime, make sure you stay tuned to the Disney Food Blog for the latest Disney news. 11. Universal just blew my mind. Surfside Over my 30+ years visiting the major theme parks that call Central Florida home, I’ve stayed at countless kinds of hotels in the area — including Value, Moderate, and even Deluxe Tier at resorts. Recently, I stayed at a Universal Orlando Resort hotel for the first time, and was shocked Now, I’ve been visiting the Universal Resort for nearly 30 years as well, but on each of those trips, I was either staying offsite or adding Universal days onto a Disney trip while staying on Disney World property. However, that changed this summer when I stayed at Universal Endless Summer Resort – Surfside Inn. The Lobby Endless Summer — made up of Surfside as well as its sister Dockside Resort — is one of Universal’s Value resorts, putting them on par (and up for comparison with) Disney’s Value Resorts: The All-Stars, Art of Animation, and my beloved Pop Century. I have to say, as big a fan as I am of Pop, Universal’s Value offerings are ahead of Disney’s right now. Endless Summer Surfside Pool For starters, the hotel itself has overall aesthetics more comparable to Disney’s Moderate Tier hotels than the Mouse House’s Value offerings, even though its prices are on par or sometimes cheaper than the latter. Theming The theming continues throughout the resort, with touches that are closer to Disney offerings like the Caribbean Beach Resort than they are to the brash, gigantic characters and sculptures that populate Disney’s Value Resorts. Surfs Up This followed through to the food court area, the Beach Break Cafe, which had a cleaner, more upscale vibe than, say, Everything Pop! Beach Break Cafe seating area Both my family and I found the food to be overall better as well, though, of course, that’s in the eye of the beholder. That said, offerings like this roast chicken dish… Citrus Roasted Chicken … or the Shrimp Po’Boy sandwich was closer to table service restaurant quality and portion size than our most recent meals at Disney Value Resorts. Yum And finally, there are the rooms. While the accommodations were overall on par with Disney’s Value resorts… Endless Summer Surfside Room … we found the bathroom layout — and large walk-in shower — at Surfside to be superior. Surfside bathroom In addition, the fact that the hotel utilizes a traditional tower layout as opposed to the Value Resort’s spread-out, motel-style building design made maneuvering around the hotel and catching transportation to the parks in the morning much easier. Surfside I’ve long proclaimed my fandom for Disney’s Pop Century Resort, and it remains one of my favorite places on Walt Disney World property, but a recent stay at Universal’s Endless Summer: Surfside Inn & Suites has me a bit angry about just how far behind Universal Disney’s value hotel experience is. 14. If you’ve ever visited Disneyland, you might have had an experience where you lost something in the parks. Maybe you recovered it through the Lost and Found system (which is AMAZING, by the way!), or maybe you didn’t even realize the thing you lost was gone until you got home. Main Street, U.S.A. in Disneyland Well, believe it or not, the items that get returned to lost and found that don’t get recovered actually get to be part of a sale that’s open to the general public. Well, a sale for Disneyland lost and found items is coming up soon, and you could save as much as 90% off. According to The Orange County Register, a Disneyland Lost and Found Sale is happening on September 30th, but make sure to read the rules carefully. The sale, which will be held at the Goodwill of Orange County Marketplace, about 15 minutes from Disneyland, will offer up to 90% off lost Disneyland souvenirs that have never been claimed from Disneyland, Disney California Adventure, and Downtown Disney. Who knows what you might find at the sale? Disneyland Cast Members will have to register in advance to attend the sale, which will happen from 6:30 AM to 11 AM. However, Cast Members are not allowed to bring a guest, although they could at previous events. The Goodwill will then open to the general public after there are no Cast Members left in line (which could happen after 11 AM). You can buy stuff from Disneyland Lost and Found Items that you can expect to find include hats, headbands, sunglasses, plush dolls, souvenir sipper cups, autograph books, bubble wands, and even lightsabers, all at a heavily discounted price. Plush dolls go for around $3 each, while souvenir sipper cups go for around $5. 15. The Halloween season is HERE at Disney World — which means it’s time for some frightfully delicious treats! Halloween sampler Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party is underway, and the spooky vibes can be found all over the Walt Disney World Resort — including at Disney Springs! In fact, Disney Springs’ Swirls on the Water is offering a fun Halloween twist on a classic Disney treat! Swirls on the Water offers interesting and unique takes on the famous DOLE Whip treat, and it EASILY delivered the goods in one of our latest reviews. Swirls on the Water! Swirls on the Water offers DOLE Whip samplers that change seasonally, and the Halloween-inspired sampler is a must-try. Costing $7.99, this treat comes with three DOLE Whips that are locked into a brightly designed container. It’s certainly pretty The first is a classic DOLE Whip Pineapple, swirled with vanilla soft-serve and a fresh pineapple wedge. It’s hard to beat the classic tangy pineapple with a creamy vanilla soft-serve. While the wedge is more of a unique addition, this flavor is reliably good and never lets us down. A classic! The Green Apple Soft-serve is swirled with salted caramel soft-serve, apple pie filling, and Halloween sprinkles, and the flavor reminded us of The Sanderson Sisters Caramel-Apple Pie Sundae at Swirls on the Water. The green apple is VERY green and sweet, and the salted caramel adds some fun texture and sweetness of its own. We have to warn you, though — this treat has a super-strong salted caramel flavor, so if you generally disagree with that kind of flavor, this won’t be the treat for you. It’s spooky looking! The last DOLE Whip is a Marshmallow soft-serve swirled with chocolate soft-serve, chocolate sauce, and a graham cracker topping. We got plenty of s’mores vibes with this one, although it tastes akin to a candy bar in ice cream form. Soft and creamy, the marshmallow against the chocolate flavor won us over. SO good. If these unique flavors don’t sound that appetizing to you, you’re in luck! There are tons of interesting flavors, such as the DOLE Whip Mango and Chamoy Float at Aloha Isle, the I Lava You Float (Fanta Strawberry Soda and Passion Fruit flavor served with DOLE Whip Orange and topped with popping candy) at Sunshine Tree Terrace, and the Ursula Cone (Wild Berry Soft-serve with candy coral and citrus cotton candy in a black vanilla cone) at Storybook Treats. All three restaurants are found at Magic Kingdom. Ursula Cone Of course, if you want to stick with Swirls on the Water, you’ll also be able to find Orange, Watermelon, Lime, and other fun flavors! 17. Morgan & Morgan, the law firm known for its “For the people” tagline, is suing Disney over the potential use of Steamboat Willie in its advertisements, according to the Associated Press. Steamboat Willie The suit was filed in federal court on September 17th, claiming that the character is not copyrighted because the U.S. copyright expired in 2024. Morgan & Morgan claims it reached out to Disney to make sure they wouldn’t be sued for using Steamboat Willie in its ads, and Disney’s lawyers said they didn’t offer legal advice to third parties. ©Disney The law firm said it was filing the lawsuit to get an official decision. Otherwise, it fears being sued by Disney for trademark infringement. Disney has not yet responded to a request for comment, the Associated Press reports. Fantasmic! with Steamboat Willie The black-and-white animated ad that Morgan & Morgan wants to air depicts Mickey captaining a boat on land that crashes into a car driven by Minnie. She then pulls out her phone and calls the law firm. In the beginning and ending of the commercial, there is a voiceover advising that Disney did not approve or authorize the statement. Steamboat Willie keychain The version of Mickey Mouse known as Steamboat Willie became part of the public domain on January 1st, 2024. Essentially, this means that it no longer falls under copyright law. Anyone can use Steamboat Willie however they want as of now, though Disney likely still isn’t too keen on that happening. ©Disney We’ll be sure to keep you updated on this developing situation. 19. I have a confession to make that may blow your mind: I’ve never been on Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind in EPCOT in Disney World. Cosmic Rewind I know, I know…it’s shocking that someone who writes for DISNEY Food Blog hasn’t been on one of Disney World’s most popular rides. Now, I usually JUMP at the chance at riding a new ride when I get the opportunity, but I’ve been to Disney World several times since Cosmic Rewind opened and I haven’t even once even thought about riding it, but I have a very good reason that I’m going to share with you. So, a little background information on me. I hate spinny things. I have hated spinny things my entire life, so this isn’t something that’s come about as I got older. When I was a kid, I avoided the merry-go-round at all cost,s and I was even leery of getting on a carousel. I once got tricked into doing a carnival spinning ride by a friend once and I never talked to her again. So I hate spinny rides. I will never ride the Mad Tea Party Obviously, that leaves things like Mad Tea Party in Magic Kingdom OUT. So here’s another funny story to make my point: the first time I visited Disneyland, I decided to ride Space Mountain because I’ve heard it’s so much better. One thing that I did not know is that, unlike the Space Mountain track in Disney World, the Space Mountain track in Disneyland goes downwards IN A SPIRAL. Anyway, I would like to apologize to the random person I sat next to on that Space Mountain who was probably wondering if I was going to hurl all over them — I had my hand over my mout,h and I’m sure I was paler than normal. Fortunately, I didn’t, but I had to find a place to sit down and take a nice, long rest. I didn’t ride anything else that day, though. Space Mountain Now, the weird thing is I can ride motion simulator rides all day long: Star Tours is a favorite, and I’ll ride it over and over. But for some reason, if something goes in a circle, I can’t handle it. No,w since my youth, I’ve also developed vertigo, which makes it that much worse. Star Tours So fast forward to Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind’s early previews. I’d already had my concerns hearing about how the coaster vehicles swivel and rotate around. Then I heard from DFB team members and others who rode it early that it could be a bit nauseating. Of course, there was also a lot of talk about how there are quite a few trash cans at the exit of the ride, which is almost ALWAYS a bad sign that people are getting off that ride sick. Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind So I did my research: I watched a full ridethrough video of the ride, and it confirmed my worst fears: Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind is NOT for me. I haven’t even once been tempted to ride it because I remember those times where my ENTIRE day was ruined because I made a bad ride choice. So why am I sharing this? Well, people often go to Disney World thinking they MUST ride one ride or another, but I’m here to tell you that it’s up to you and you should really decide if you want to ride something that might be sketchy for you and then deal with the consequences of losing time in having to recover from that ride experience. Inside Disney World’s Cosmic Rewind Coaster: Everything You Don’t See When the Lights Are Out In my opinion, it’s way better to miss out on a ride than to miss out on a lot of other Disney World experiences because a ride made you feel sick. I’ll just admire it from the outside If you REALLY still want to experience part of the ride, though, you can always go through the queue, experience the pre-show, and use the “Chicken Out” exit when you get to the loading area. That’s perfectly acceptable, and you just need to let a Cast Member know that’s your plan. Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind pre-show The beauty of Disney World is that there is something for EVERYONE in the parks. I always tell folks that you could go to Disney World or Disneyland and not get on a single ride and STILL have plenty of things to do. Plus, there are rides for those of us who don’t want to spin in circles to choose from (and, honestly, I’ll just ride Haunted Mansion five times in a row and be happy). Stay tuned to DFB for more. 20. A big change just happened in Magic Kingdom, and we’re not sure how we feel about it. Cool Ship with a new look If Tomorrowland is your first stop in the morning for TRON Lightcycle / Run, or your catch to take a break in the afternoon with the PeopleMover, you might have noticed a big red spaceship close to the Tomorrowland Speedway. Well, it looks like this rocket blasted off! Cool Ship was a misting spaceship that we ran straight to during those hot summer months. It was also attached to a small quick-service counter with bottled water and drinks. They served plenty of ice cream and popcorn, too! Cool Ship We noticed a few months ago that the entire area was covered with construction walls, and then we saw that it had been completely removed. What happened to our beloved Cool Ship? EMPTY! When we were riding the PeopleMover, we noticed that a new structure was up and that Cool Ship had a whole new look! There’s not a bright red rocket on top, but we can still see the idea of a shapeship on it, with its modern curves and details. View from the PeopleMover It also looks like it’s still going to be a small food stand, but this time, there are more windows, hopefully meaning that the inside is packed with air conditioning for the Cast Members. The colors are also bright and fun with the teal and red accents. That looks like a spaceship, right? There is currently no reopening date, but according to the Disney World website, it is scheduled to reopen sometime later this year. The previous menu is listed, but we’re not sure if there are going to be new changes coming. We can’t wait to eat here again While Cool Ship is under construction, don’t forget to check out the Lunching Pad for some quick bites. They have pretzels (including a Cream Cheese Warm Stuffed Pretzel), hot dogs, fountain drinks, and more. Jalapeño Popper Dog We’ll be keeping an eye out to see what happened to Cool Ship and if a new menu is coming along with it. Make sure you keep following Disney Food Blog for more. A statement from Universal said the adult male had been at the park Wednesday night and fell ill after riding the twin coaster attraction that’s within Epic Universe’s Celestial Park. “Universal is cooperating with the Orange County Sheriff’s Office following a tragic event involving a guest at Epic Universe on Wednesday night,” the Universal statement released by the Orange County Fire Rescue Department reads. “The guest became unresponsive after riding Stardust Racers and was transported to the hospital, where the guest later died.” No more information about the guest has been released.
