  1. Calling all coffee fans! If you love grabbing a cold brew every time you step into the parks to start your day, we’ve got some fantastic news. ©Disney Disney just announced that new cold brew flavors are arriving all over Disney World, but there’s one catch — each new flavor is only available in one location, so you’ll need to visit all four parks to try them all! The Ube Cold Brew is one of the flavors at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, and you can grab it at Satu’li Canteen. This is made with Joffrey’s Cold Brew Coffee, ube sweet cream, butterfly pea tea whipped topping, and freeze-dried raspberries. ©Disney Over in EPCOT, you’ll find the Cold Crumb at Kringla Bakeri Og Kafe in the Norway Pavilion. This is a Skøl Bread-inspired Cold Brew made with coconut-flavored Joffrey’s Cold Brew Coffee, vanilla custard cold foam, and shredded coconut. It looks incredible, and we can’t wait to try it out! ©Disney The Epic Cold Brew Spectacular! will be available at Disney’s Hollywood Studios at Epic Eats. This is Joffrey’s Cold Brew Coffee, featuring vanilla flavor, and topped with cookie butter cold foam and a super neat chocolate hat on top! It’s one of the simplest treats, but we’re hoping it means it’ll be simply wonderful. ©Disney Over in Magic Kingdom, there are TWO new cold brew drinks! The first is the Honey-Lavender Cold Brew coming to Golden Oak Outpost, which is made with Joffrey’s Cold Brew Coffee with honey-lavender cold foam, honeycomb toffee, and a sugar candy piece. ©Disney And finally, over at Cheshire Cafe, you’ll find The White Rabbit. This is made with Joffrey’s Cold Brew Coffee, white chocolate sauce, raspberry cold foam, and topped with raspberry powder and a chocolate piece. ©Disney That’s not all, though! Cold brew will also now be available at MORE Disney World locations. The full list of locations where you can find cold brew is below, but the locations bolded are the new ones recently added. 2. Another big closure is hitting Disney World in 2026, but it’s not what you would expect! Lime Garage A major maintenance project will be hitting Disney Springs early next year at the Lime Garage. The work will focus on structural repairs on all five levels of the parking structure. Let’s take a look at the details, because it sounds like parking at Disney World’s shopping and dining district is about to get crazier. The Central Florida Tourism Oversight District (CFTOD) will be starting a “Lime Garage Maintenance Project” early next year, as it looks to fix up all the levels of the parking garage. You can see on the bid portal the listing of the project name and when it was posted. ©Planet Bids Although it is subject to change, based on documents made public by the CFTOD, it looks like the project will begin on January 12th, 2026, and go through March 13th, 2026. ©CFTOD It also appears that there will be a break in the middle of the project, with a brief reopening planned from February 11th, 2026, to February 17th, 2026. This is most likely to plan for the busy holiday weekend, as that falls on Presidents’ Day. Lime Garage parking According to Planet Bids, the CFTOD stated they are “seeking the services of a qualified general contractor to perform structural maintenance on the District’s Lime Parking Garage. The Lime Garage is a five-story concrete parking structure that supports the Disney Springs area within the District. Repairs will be focused on crack sealing on all ramps throughout the garage, per the repair procedures outlined in this scope of services.” Lime Garage It sounds like the plan is to get the work done quickly and efficiently, as it was also stated, “work shall be completed in phases, and Contractor shall work with the District to minimize disruptions and facilitate maximum garage capacity and operations around work zone(s). Contractor shall note this project has a critical schedule and a required completion date.” Lime Garage The Lime Garage is one of the shopping district’s most used garages! It offers over 2,000 parking spaces and direct pedestrian access to Disney Springs Town Center. It will be interesting to see how crowd flow looks and how parking in general holds up. Access from the Lime Garage When the Lime Garage is closed, you can use the Orange Garage and the Grapefruit Garage, along with the surface parking. If you’re staying at a Disney World Resort, don’t forget you can use their free bus transportation to take you right to Disney Springs! While Disney Springs can get busy at any time, the evenings and weekends are the busiest, and trust us, you don’t always want to deal with parking far away and walking in, especially if the Lime Garade is closed. Orange Garage We’ll be keeping an eye out for any more updates, and be sure to drop them! 3. Main Street, U.S.A. might look like just a charming entrance to Magic Kingdom, but it’s hiding some of the most unique souvenirs in all of Disney World. Main Street, U.S.A. This is not your average gift shop shopping spree. We’re talking about merchandise and experiences you literally cannot get anywhere else in the park (or sometimes, anywhere else on property). If you’re the type of person who wants to bring home something extra-special from your Disney vacation, Main Street is where you need to stop. Let’s break down every exclusive option you’ll want to know about before your next trip. Crystal Arts Souvenirs You’ve probably walked past Crystal Arts a dozen times without realizing just how special it is. Inside, you’ll find gorgeous crystal figurines, glassware, and even Cinderella Castle sculptures that sparkle under the lights. Many of the items here are handcrafted, which makes them one-of-a-kind. Tiara styles and colors You can also catch glassblowing demonstrations, which adds to the magic of seeing your souvenir come to life before your eyes. Whether you’re going for a delicate glass slipper or a dazzling ornament, this is the place to grab something you won’t find in the regular Disney gift shops. Starbucks Magic Kingdom-Specific Merchandise Yes, you can get your caffeine fix on Main Street, but that’s not the only reason to stop at the Starbucks tucked inside the Main Street Bakery. Each Disney park’s Starbucks sells mugs, tumblers, and other drinkware that are designed exclusively for that location. Starbucks Magic Kingdom mug ornament The Magic Kingdom collection often features Cinderella Castle and other park icons, which makes them a must-have for collectors. If you’re a die-hard Starbucks fan or just want a piece of merch that screams “Magic Kingdom,” this is where you’ll find it. The designs rotate and sell quickly, so if you spot one you like, don’t wait to grab it. Silhouette Portraits on Main Street This is one of the most old-fashioned—and most beloved—souvenirs you can take home. On Main Street, there’s a small cart where artists hand-cut your silhouette onto paper. It only takes a few minutes, and the result is a classic black-and-white portrait that feels timeless. You can even get them framed on the spot. Silhouette Portrait Studio in Magic Kingdom This is something generations of Disney fans have done, and it’s not something you’ll stumble across in most other theme parks. If you want a truly personal keepsake, this is the one to go for. Embroidery at Box Office Gifts and Curtain Call Collectibles Did you know you can personalize your Disney merch just as you set foot at the front of the park? Right at the entrance, Box Office Gifts (located near City Hall) and Curtain Call Collectibles both offer embroidery services. Curtain Call Collectibles You can buy a pair of Mickey ears or a hat and have your name stitched on it for that extra touch of Disney magic. Not only does this make your souvenir unique, but it’s also a fun way to commemorate a special trip, like a first visit or birthday. Just keep in mind that embroidery can take a little time, so plan accordingly if you want your gear personalized. Event and Party-Exclusive Merchandise Main Street is also the go-to hub for event-specific merch. If you’re attending Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party or Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party, Main Street shops are usually stocked with limited-edition items you won’t find during regular park hours. Stitch Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party Shirt We’re talking themed spirit jerseys, pins, ornaments, and more. These are the kinds of souvenirs that not only remind you of your trip but also of the specific event you attended, making them especially collectible. Keep an eye out for release dates and shop early, because these items tend to fly off the shelves. Main Street, U.S.A. in Disney World Main Street, U.S.A. is so much more than a photogenic walkway to Cinderella Castle—it’s a hidden treasure trove of exclusive Disney World merchandise. From handcrafted crystal pieces to personalized Mickey ears and even limited-time event items, there’s something for every type of collector. If you want to make sure your souvenir stands out from the sea of Disney tees and plushies, you’ll want to carve out some shopping time here. 4. The Disney World parks feels like construction central right now! Construction walls in Animation Courtyard Disney World is going through a LOT of change right now, but not all of them are changes we’re looking forward to. While we’re excited for new attractions and lands, we are dreading some of these changes in 2026! If you follow the Disney parks in any capacity, you might know that some big changes are coming to all of the parks. Some of those things are super exciting, and some things have filled us with an overwhelming sense of dread if we’re being honest! Dinosaur Closing One of the first things we’re dreading is the closing of the ride DINOSAUR and the rest of DinoLand. This famous attraction’s final day is on February 2nd, 2026. This means the final day to experience the ride, The Dino Institute Shop, Restaurantosaurus, and Restaurantosaurus Lounge is February 1st. DINOSAUR Dinosaur will be turning into an Indiana Jones attraction as part of the area’s transformation into Pueblo Esperanza. Dinosaur is an opening day attraction over at Animal Kingdom, so this one will sting. We can confirm some tears will be shed once it happens! Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Changes Our next change is one we’re dreading, but remain pretty hopeful about. Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster over in Hollywood Studios is evicting Aerosmith, and the Muppets are moving in! ©Disney Aerosmith has been a staple at this coaster since it opened in 1999, but in 2026, the Muppets are taking up residency. Disney has shared that the attraction will be “fueled by the tasty tunes of the Electric Mayhem and the high-speed hijinks of The Muppets.” The storyline will take guests on a VIP Tour of G-Force Records, where the Muppets have taken over management duties. Rock ‘n Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets ©Disney Electric Mayhem is lined up to headline their biggest Hollywood concert ever! During your time at G-Force, Disney has shared, “Along with the finest audio engineers (all penguins, of course), we’ll see Scooter doing his best to convince Electric Mayhem to stop jamming and get to their increasingly restless fans. But will it be enough time to get the band and the town and onstage on time?” ©Disney We are big Muppet fans, but we’re dreading these changes because you just never know quite what to expect with a retheme of an attraction. Disney has recently nailed some rethemes like the Country Bears and Test Track, but we’re hoping this isn’t just a band-aid for closing Muppets Courtyard! Relearning How To Become A Galactic Hero Now this news isn’t one we’re dreading too much, but we are preparing for it! Over in Magic Kingdom, Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin is getting a big overhaul! ©Disney The ride will be getting a new character, a new opening scene, new blasters, new targets, and new ride vehicles! It’s currently closed for these changes and won’t reopen until sometime in 2026. We’re actually pretty excited to see these upgrades, as big fans of this ride. That being said, we aren’t excited to relearn how to become a galactic hero. ©Disney A Galactic Hero is when you manage to get 999,999 points on the attraction, and we don’t want to brag, but we have gotten pretty good at it! We knew all of the secrets and hacks, but now we will most likely be starting at square one. Is this a real issue? Probably not. More Crowds in Hollywood Studios The last thing we’re really dreading is the crowd changes in Hollywood Studios next year. Animation Courtyard is being reimaged into The Walt Disney Studios, which is expected to open in 2026! ©Disney The new land will be a “special nod to the legendary Walt Disney Studios Lot” in Burbank, California. In Hollywood Studios, Disney Animation characters will “leap off the screen and into our world.” The new land will keep two of Animation Courtyard’s signature attractions (The Little Mermaid – A Musical Adventure and Walt Disney Presents) while introducing brand-new experiences inspired by beloved Disney characters as well as the “Once Upon a Studio” short film! ©Disney We’ll be getting an attraction called The Magic of Disney Animation, a reimagined version of the Disney Jr. Play and Dance show, and a brand new Alice in Wonderland-themed playground! In the first attraction, you’ll be able to interact and explore this fun take on the Disney Animation headquarters , and (spoiler) some of our favorite Disney characters have taken over! ©Disney We’re really excited for these updates, but we are dreading the crowds that will inevitably be there once the area opens in 2026. What’s Coming In 2027? Sure, there’s some dread attached to the changes coming in 2026, but we do have things we’re looking forward to in 2027! One confirmed opening is Pueblo Esperanza in Animal Kingdom! ©Disney || Tropical Americas Land coming to Animal Kingdom The land will highlight the Tropical Americas through the stories of Encanto and Indiana Jones. The land will feature will become home to two main attractions — an Encanto ride featuring the Madrigal family and a new Indiana Jones adventure ride! A Carousel will also provide another ride option. The Casita ©Disney The new land will feature classic Spanish-style architecture with a large hacienda that will also serve as one of the largest quick-service restaurants at Disney World. While we are genuinely aching over the loss of Dinosaur, we are excited to see what Disney creates in this new land. The new Tropical Americas land coming to Disney’s Animal Kingdom lets guests explore a preserved Maya temple – and the ensuing adventure – alongside Indiana Jones. Pueblo Esperanza is the only confirmed opening we’ll mention for 2027, but we do have a lot of potential openings! Over in Magic Kingdom, Disney is working on a major expansion of the park with the addition of 2 new lands. In August 2024, Disney officially announced that Magic Kingdom is expanding the theme park with a brand new Villains Land! Villains Land ©Disney This new land will be located behind Big Thunder Mountain and will feature two major attractions, along with new dining and shopping experiences. Disney has shared that this land will be “on an incredibly twisted grand scale.” They’ve remained fairly tight-lipped on this land, but we’ve spent some time zooming in on the concept art, hunting for clues! ©Disney Also in Magic Kingdom, Disney is building Piston Peak — the new Cars land! In this land, the cars are leaving Radiator Springs to explore the West and head into new frontiers. This area, which is replacing Tom Sawyer Island and the Rivers of America, will feature two signature attractions! Piston Peak ©Disney There will be a rally racer attraction where you will race through the mountains on wild terrain along mountain trails as you dodge geysers and splash through mud holes. In the queue of the new ride, you’ll be introduced to a new character: Ranger J. Autobahn Woodlore. The second ride will be geared toward “smaller racers” and will be fun for the whole family! Coming Coming to Frontierland at Magic Kingdom, a new area themed to Pixar Animation Studios’ “Cars” will leave Radiator Springs and head to the wilderness with two new attractions including an off-road race. Finally, one potential change coming to the parks in 2027 is the opening of the new Monsters Inc. Land! The story of the land will pick up after the events of the popular Pixar film, and humans have now been invited to visit the world of Monsters, Inc. Disney shares that here, “you’ll be able to stroll the streets alongside some of your favorite monsters” and even visit the Laugh Factory! ©Disney This land will feature a new suspended roller coaster, a new show, and (potentially) a new restaurant, all inspired by the movie! We are still a bit bitter because this area is the reason we lost Muppets Courtyard, but we can’t deny that the concept art looks amazing. ©Disney Villains Land, Cars Land, and Monsters Inc. Land don’t have a confirmed opening timeline, but we’re keeping our fingers crossed for 2027! Change is hard, but it’s inevitable! We’re excited for what’s to come, but we will be enjoying everything we can before it’s gone forever. 5. Early in September, Universal Orlando stated that construction will be coming soon to the Islands of Adventure theme park. Director of Public Relations Kristen Smith said in an emailed statement to the Orlando Business Journal that, “In the coming months, there will be construction activity in Lost Continent as part of site planning to ensure the area is ready for any future developments.” Islands of Adventure Main Entrance The Lost Continent is one of the islands at the theme park, and several attractions there have been closed down for a while. We also spotted a permit for the demolition of five acres within Islands of Adventure, approximately the size of the closed attractions in The Lost Continent. So what exactly will be getting demolished at Islands of Adventure, and what will remain? Well, we don’t know for sure yet, but we do have some ideas. What’s Being Demolished? As of now, Universal has not shared any official news about what is getting demolished at Islands of Adventure, but we do know that The Eighth Voyage of Sinbad, a stunt show, and Poseidon’s Fury have both been closed for a while now, since 2018 and 2023, respectively. Poseidon’s Fury The area these two attractions occupy is roughly five acres. The permit that was filed was for 4.9 acres. You add those two together, along with Universal’s statement that The Lost Continent will see upcoming construction “as part of site planning to ensure the area is ready for any future developments,” and it starts to seem like The Eighth Voyage of Sinbad and Poseidon’s Fury will be getting demolished soon to make way for new development. The Lost Continent But What About the Rest of The Lost Continent? Mythos, the full-service restaurant, is currently in operation and is located right across the walkway from the former Poseidon’s Fury. ©Universal This restaurant’s theming is very bold and fitting of The Lost Continent; it would be difficult to simply re-theme it without some major construction. Demolition of Mythos might be on the horizon for Universal to bring in new attractions; however, Universal may wait until later to close this restaurant since it likely wouldn’t be within the five acres noted on the permit. Plus, it would likely benefit the company to keep a restaurant like this open. Mythos Restaurant The Lost Continent also has shops and two quick-service restaurants currently in operation. These are directly in front of the closed stunt show. It wouldn’t be surprising if we saw some of these, the ones closest to the stunt show’s building, close when the construction walls go up. ©Universal Of course, all of these theories are completely speculation and our own ideas that have NOT been confirmed by Universal. But we’ll be keeping an eye out for any news from the company and let you know ASAP! In the meantime, keep following DFB for even more Universal Orlando news! We’ve tried dozens of differnet styles and brands, but the Stanley IceFlow is currently leading the pack. You can get this bottle in tons of colors, so you’re sure to find the one that you love. This one was totally worth the money, and price-wise, it was between the Hydro Flask and the Yeti, which we’ve already tried, and this one is currently our top pick so far. 12. When I’m in Disney World, more often than not, my feet are sore, my skin is drenched with sweat, and my hair is battling the humidity every step of the way. So you know which body part I expect will actually get to have a good time? My BUTT. Space Mountain No, I promise, I’m not getting into toilets here. Instead, I’m here to talk about ride vehicles! Some are surprisingly comfy (like Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind — kisses for you!), and others leave a lot to be desired. Especially over in Tomorrowland at Magic Kingdom, where they have a serious ride vehicle problem! First, I’m going to start by saying — this is not about you, Tomorrowland Transit Authority PeopleMover. You are a golden child who can do no wrong, and I love you. You may go home. Go on, you’re excused. (*fondly watches PeopleMover exit like a proud parent of an adorable toddler*) PeopleMover Okay, now, let’s get DOWN TO BUSINESS. The other Tomorrowland rides? You guys line up right here in front of me, ya bunch of troublemakers! I’m sick and tired of you toying with my emotions, my comfort, and worst of all, my knees and joints. Somehow, each of you is a problem child in your own unique way. Astro Orbiter TRON Lightcycle / Run, you might not be the worst offender, but you’re certainly near the top of the list. Your bicycle-style seating may look cool, but for those of us with calves enlarged by hours of theme park walking every week, you can be a pinchy, uncomfortable experience. And don’t even get me started on how awkward you are to ride while wearing a skirt or dress. TRON Lightcycle / Run Space Mountain, you’re probably the most famous of the uncomfy ride vehicles, though I don’t think you’re technically the worst either. You can be perfectly fine and enjoyable during the ride experience (we’ll blame the herky-jerky on the track and not the vehicle), but getting in and out of your little torpedo-shaped seats is an acrobatic feat for which I need to do a full series of stretches. I swear I’ve nearly dislocated shoulder joints multiple times during my disembarkations, and WHERE on earth am I supposed to fit my backpack while I ride?! Space Mountain on-ride photo Tomorrowland Speedway, don’t think you’re getting off scot-free, even though you’re less popular than those first two. Your ride vehicles are not only difficult for adults to get in and out of, but they STINK to high heaven (as my very Southern mother would say). Even though I’m a full-grown adult with a driver’s license, I struggle to drive your cars without banging into that metal bar every 30 seconds. Do better. Tomorrowland Speedway But above all else, I’m here to throw down with Astro Orbiter. YOU are the bane of my existence. You say you’re made for two occupants per rocket ship, but when I attempted to ride with another person, it was an obscene invasion of personal space. And I was riding with my husband! I nearly broke both his knees, and the centrifugal force created by the spinning of the ride threw us both against the metal walls in a rib-busting manner. This is not a ride vehicle you share with a casual friend, a first date, or really, any other adults. Ride with small children only, and even then, beware. Astro Orbiter Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin, I know you’re in the middle of a refurbishment right now, and if you see the trouble these other rides have gotten themselves into, I can only hope you’ll reopen with quality ride vehicles that will make Tomorrowland proud. You weren’t really a true offender to begin with, but I’ve got my eyes on you, just in case. ©Disney So there you go, the full scope of the Tomorrowland ride vehicle problem. I’m personally in the camp that Astro Orbiter is the worst offender, but at least we’ve got the wonderful PeopleMover to balance things out. Don’t forget to stretch before you board these rides! 13. Way back at the 2024 D23 Ultimate Fan Event, Disney announced that a NEW Cars-themed area was coming to the Magic Kingdom. In the many months since, they’ve revealed that the new installation will be the national park-themed Piston Peak, and will be located within Frontierland. Piston Peak ©Disney The area, which will be replacing the Rivers of America and Tom Sawyer Island, both of which closed in July 2025, will include two new rides. While we are super excited for Piston Peak to come to Magic Kingdom, we have some bad news about the rally race ride that will be part of this expansion. Construction has already begun on this area, with land clearing well underway in the months since the Rivers closed. ©bioreconstruct on X As mentioned, Disney has confirmed two rides for this area. The first will be geared toward “smaller racers,” which leads us to believe that this will be a family-friendly attraction with either no height requirement or a very low one. ©Disney We have a few more details about the second attraction, along with some concept art. This attraction is a racing ride where you will go on a “thrilling rally race through the mountains. Take on wild terrain as you race across the landscape, climbing mountain trails, dodging geysers, and — Mater’s favorite — splashing through mudholes.” According to a Disney Parks Blog post discussing the attraction, the ride will include racing over rocky terrain, ascending to mountain peaks, and dodging around geysers. Coming Coming to Frontierland at Magic Kingdom, a new area themed to Pixar Animation Studios’ “Cars” will leave Radiator Springs and head to the wilderness with two new attractions including an off-road race. While this new rally race attraction sounds super fun, we noticed a few things. We can expect this ride to have a higher height requirement since Disney specifically pointed out that the other attraction will be for “smaller racers.” Compared to Radiator Springs Racers in Disney California Adventure, the height requirement is 3′4″, and we could expect to see a similar height requirement for the new ride in Magic Kingdom. Radiator Springs Racers The concept art shows the cars racing through different terrains like dirt, but there is no track. It seems unlikely that this would be a trackless ride. We will keep our fingers crossed, as Cars Land in California Adventure does have a trackless outdoor attraction, so the technology may be able to be applied to the new rally race ride. Still, we do not think you will actually be racing through the dirt. ©Disney Cars Land in California Adventure resonates with people because they feel like they are walking right into the movie and being transported into Radiator Springs; the Magic Kingdom’s Cars expansion is not a second Cars Land and will be themed to fit into Frontierland. This may be disappointing to some as it will be a brand-new story. Coming to Frontierland at Magic Kingdom, a new area themed to Pixar Animation Studios’ “Cars” will leave Radiator Springs and head to the wilderness with two new attractions including an off-road race. Also, unlike Cars Land in California Adventure, the Cars expansion is not its own land, and you will likely be able to see other parts of Frontierland. Technically, this expansion is part of the land, but it can take you out of the immersion if you can see the Haunted Mansion or Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, whereas, in Cars Land, you really feel like you are on Route 66 in Radiator Springs. Cars Land in Disney California Adventure It is important to note that sometimes, the final product does not match the original concept art released. For example, the original concept art for Tiana’s Bayou Adventure differs from what was built. Tiana’s Bayou Adventure Although it has not been built yet, when the Tropical Americas-themed land, Pueblo Esperanza, in Animal Kingdom, was initially announced, the concept art showed a pink river outside of the Madrigal’s Casita. The updated concept art released this year is almost the exact same, but the pink river is now gone. This just goes to show that concept art changes and sometimes does not reflect the final product. Tropical Americas concept art with no pink river We will continue to keep an eye out for more information regarding the Cars expansion as well as all the other new and exciting projects making their way to Disney World in the coming years, so make sure to continue to follow along with Disney Food Blog so you never miss out on all the latest Disney news! ‘Cars’ Expansion Will Bring A New Shortcut To Magic Kingdom…And We LOVE IT! 15. An incident report obtained Monday by the Orlando Sentinel details paramedics’ response after Kevin Rodriguez Zavala lost consciousness while riding the Stardust Racers roller coaster at Universal Orlando Resort’s new Epic Universe theme park last month, leading to him later being pronounced dead. Orange County Fire Rescue was first dispatched to reports of an unresponsive citizen on Sept. 17 at 9:09 p.m., with the first personnel arriving at Epic Universe about six minutes later. They parked in the closest parking area, which was about 750 feet away from the entrance to Stardust Racers, the report from the agency shows. Fire rescue personnel made their way to Stardust Racers and saw two Universal paramedics treating Zavala, who was still in one of the ride’s seats with the restraint bar on and had a defibrillator attached to him. The paramedics were holding Zavala up in the seat, the report said. The paramedics told fire rescue that Zavala was in a state of pulseless electrical activity and that they only needed manpower to get him off the ride, according to the report. The report said the restraint bar was lifted and Zavala was taken by both the Universal and fire rescue personnel to an open area, where fire rescue performed CPR. Zavala was immobilized with a backboard and placed on a stretcher while CPR continued. He was rushed to Orlando Regional Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead. Zavala, of Kissimmee, was wheelchair-bound and had spinal cord atrophy since birth. When he rode Stardust Racers with his girlfriend that day, he was helped into the ride by Universal employees, according to his family. Attorneys representing Zavala’s family have angrily blasted Universal for statements that they say suggest Zavala’s disability played a role in his death. He was found slumped over in his seat, and witnesses said that his head kept banging on the headrest. The Orange County medical examiner ruled his death as accidental and the result of “multiple blunt impact injuries.” Universal reopened Stardust Racers on Saturday and updated its procedures and signs to reinforce existing warnings for “physical eligibility requirements” of riders. Guests using mobility devices, such as wheelchairs, must be able to walk independently. However, the park will continue to use “transfer devices” to assist visitors into the ride. 18. When it comes to dining at Disney World, you’ve got a TON of options. Want something quick and easy? You’ve got it. Something middle-of-the-road and comforting? Yep, that too. And if you’re looking for something upscale and luxurious, you can find that as well. Les Halles Boulangerie Patisserie We recently stopped by Les Halles Boulangerie Patisserie in EPCOT’s France Pavilion to check out a GIANT new treat, and now we’re bringing you our FULL review. Is it worth a stop on your next trip to the Most Magical Place on Earth? Find out here! Over at Les Halles Boulangerie Patisserie in EPCOT’s France Pavilion, they’re now serving up the Croiss Oh La La — a GIANT croissant dipped in chocolate — for $13.95. And, while that sounds like quite an expensive croissant, this thing could easily feed a family. IT’S HUGE Seriously, this thing was nearly as big as our reporter’s head when she tried it! It barely fit on the plate. It’s the same delicious, buttery, flaky croissant you can normally get at Les Halles — only giant, and covered in chocolate. Just beware: people WILL stop you to ask where you got it. Look at this thing! Our only complaint is that we wish there had been more chocolate, or even a filling — it was just a lot of croissant dough, which isn’t necessarily a bad thing, but it could have been a little bit more exciting. Though, how much more exciting does a giant croissant need to be? We were happy to see that despite the croissant being huge, the flaky crumb structure remained intact on the inside. The chocolate started to melt pretty quickly once we took it outside as well. The crumb structure was amazing The Croiss Oh La La is only around for a limited time, so grab it while you can! It has been selling out pretty early in the mornings, so you’ll want to get to Les Halles as soon as it opens. We’ll be on the lookout for more GIANT new snacks to review for you around Disney World. 19. Christmas has hit Disney World, and we’re SO ready to grab new merchandise to celebrate. Holiday merch is here! We visited Magic Kingdom to explore the Emporium’s new Christmas collections and help get into the holiday spirit. It’s only October, but seasonal souvenirs are known to sell out fast in stores and online. Ready to take a peek? DISCLOSURE: This post may contain affiliate links, meaning when you click the links and make a purchase, we receive a commission. One of the new collections this year is the Disney Fair Isle Print Collection, which looks like a classic sweater. They have slipper Crocs with Santa Mickey on them, which are lined with a soft sherpa. We’re always down for Crocs Hidden in the pattern are the castle, snowflakes, Mickey icons, Christmas trees, and holly leaves. I love the back strap, which looks like it’s lined with garland and has a red bow with a Mickey head in the middle. Find on the Disney Store Also part of the collection is the Santa Mickey Mouse Spirit Jersey. Are you a spirit jersey fan? No collection is complete without a spirit jersey, and a holiday collection is no exception. We love spirit jerseys when the weather is a little bit between seasons and we’re not quite ready for a heavy jacket. The long sleeves are just enough to keep us warm while running around the parks. Find on the Disney Store If you haven’t gotten a Lug bag yet, please consider the Mickey Mouse Holiday one. We love Lug! This bag is just too dang cute. Mickey, in his plaid Santa hat, is front and center, and the bag is embroidered with snowflakes to bring in even more winter fun. These bags are incredibly convenient and fit all essentials in a cross-body style. They have a Lug for everyone, but this holiday one is going to be popular. Find on the Disney Store Another new collection! This is the Mickey Mouse Family Christmas Collection, featuring “The Merriest place on Earth” T-shirt and Pullover. Matching shirts, anyone? On the front, Mickey and Minnie are driving the sleigh with Pluto pulling everyone along. If you look closely, you can also see Chip and Dale, Goofy, Donald, and Daisy, along with stacks and stacks of presents. I love the embroidered stars and snowflakes around the sleigh, too. Find on the Disney Store We also spotted this Mickey Mouse and Friends Holiday Long Sleeve. So many options! Donald Duck is on the front big and center (he is number one after all) with his Santa hat and all of the other friends are along the back and sleeves. We love the long-sleeve shirts for winter in Florida, and if you’re heading to the parks, these might be perfect for you and the family. Find on the Disney Store While these haven’t been released online yet, they are the Green Plaid Minnie Ears. The pearls are so pretty, and the dark green will look festive no matter which park you’re in. The pearls are perfect! We’re so glad the holidays are here, and we’re ready to deck the halls. 20. We were hoping this day wouldn’t come, but unfortunately, it is here. Disney Shirts After seeing price increases hit t-shirts at Disneyland, we knew the change would eventually hit Disney World as well. On a recent trip to Magic Kingdom, we noticed the price increases had made their way to the Emporium. Here’s what you need to know. DISCLOSURE: This post may contain affiliate links, meaning when you click the links and make a purchase, we receive a commission. Well, it finally happened. We recently saw prices increase on shirts at Disneyland, so we knew it was only a matter of time before the change hit Disney World as well. At the Emporium in Magic Kingdom, we noticed that the pricing had been updated for classic Disney t-shirts. The price has gone up Now, you’ll pay $29.99 each for two shirts, or $32.99 for one shirt. This is an increase over the previous $25 each when you buy two, or $29.99 for one shirt. That’s nearly $10 more for two shirts, or $3 more for one shirt by itself. Price increase Luckily, we’ve noticed that this price increase hasn’t impacted all the Disney shirts online, but it has impacted some. You can shop them all at the link below! Check Out These Disney Tees Online While this price increase is disappointing, it’s not entirely shocking. We typically see thousands of price increases hit Disney World in October — whether it be on park tickets, snacks, merchandise, special experiences, hotels, or something else entirely. As of now, we haven’t seen any other price increases pop up, but it’s only a matter of time at this point. Disney shirts We’ll definitely be on the lookout for more price increases around Disney World and will let you know as soon as we see them pop up. We’re anticipating they’ll hit sometime around mid-October, so be prepared if you’ve got an upcoming trip. You also might want to consider finally booking that trip before the price increases hit! Disney shirts at Creations Shop in EPCOT We’ll be waiting for more price increases to hit Disney World this October and will let you know when they do. In the meantime, make sure you stay tuned to the Disney Food Blog for the latest Disney news and beyond. 19 Critical Dates for Disney World Fans in 2026 Join the DFB Newsletter to get all the breaking news right in your inbox! 22. Flying today can be stressful, but this one change is making it a little easier! TSA lines at MCO Between flight delays, long lines, and TSA rules, it can feel like a marathon every time you head to the airport. For years, one of the biggest hassles has been navigating TSA checkpoints: shoes off, laptops out, liquids in tiny bags… You know the drill. But just when we’d all gotten used to the ritual, TSA has shaken things up in a big way with a policy shift that’s set to make travel just a little bit easier for everyone. If you’ve flown recently, you’ve probably noticed something different at security. That’s because the TSA just made a huge change: the mandatory shoe removal rule is officially gone. No, you’re not still dreaming, passengers now can keep their shoes on when going through standard security screening at U.S. airports. Check out the NEW rules! This shift, announced by Homeland Security on July 8, 2025, marks the end of a nearly 20-year policy born in 2011. The logic? Advances in screening technology and layered security methods now allow footwear to be scanned effectively without needing to be removed. For years, only TSA PreCheck travelers could leave shoes on, and now that perk has expanded to almost everyone. MCO Airport Of course, there are still caveats. Homeland Security was clear that while the blanket rule is lifted, TSA officers retain discretion to ask someone to remove their shoes if additional screening is needed. Also, the policy is for domestic U.S. airports and applies to regular security lanes. So if your shoes trigger an alert or there’s something unusual in your screening, you might still have to remove them. Orlando International Airport This should keep TSA lines flowing better, which means less time in line for you! For more travel news, follow us at DFB! 24. It’s certainly no secret that Disney World is undergoing some significant changes right now. Disney Springs! Over at Magic Kingdom, new Cars and Villains-themed areas are being built, while Animal Kingdom’s DinoLand is being transformed into Pueblo Esperanza. While nothing quite as major has changed at Disney Springs this year, there have been updates you probably still need to know about! While Disney Springs may not be undergoing a huge overhaul like some of the Disney World parks, there were still some big changes that took place in 2025. Let’s take a look. Get ready for games LEVEL99, an interactive, social entertainment experience known for its challenge rooms, will open its first-ever Florida location in Disney Springs! ©LEVEL99 This new addition will mark LEVEL99’s fifth location — a first-of-its-kind (okay, fifth) destination for real-world, challenge-based, social entertainment for adults featuring over 50 physical and mental challenges set in artistic environments. It’s essentially a giant, futuristic arcade and entertainment center. ©LEVEL99 While the new attraction itself hasn’t opened, we did spot an exciting change when we were at Disney Springs recently — LEVEL99 has started showing advertisements and gameplay on the giant screen outside the building! LEVEL99 is coming to Disney Springs! We’ll keep you updated on the official opening of this new addition. What is LEVEL99, and what do you need to know about it? A spooky new tradition There’s a NEW Halloween bar in Disney World! Jock Lindsey’s Hangar Bar is one of our favorite themed hangouts in Disney World, located in The Landing at Disney Springs. Jock Lindsey’s Halloween Bar The restaurant itself is Indiana Jones-themed, but around the holiday season, it gets a festive overlay. This year, for the first time, Jock Lindsey’s is also doing a Halloween overlay! Zombie Eye Bites Disney invited us out to check out Jock Lindsey’s Halloween Hangar Bar, and we got to see the space decorated, as well as try a couple of the treats on the menu (no tricks, here!). You can check out our full review at the link below! REVIEW: We Tried Disney World’s NEW Halloween Bar and You’re Going To LOVE It! Caffeine pick-me-up The Starbucks on the West Side of Disney Springs was closed for refurbishment for a while, and when it reopened, it had a brand-new look! West Side Starbucks at Disney Springs As you make your way through the entrance, you’re greeted by a similar setup as before, only this time, you might notice it looks a little different. The mural that decorates just above the ordering counter stretches throughout the room and now depicts a tropical scene with colorful animals, birds, and fanning leaves. New look! It’s a nice update that really helps brighten the room as you walk in and sets the tone for your experience inside. The rest of the seating area indoors and outside looks very similar to the layout that was here before. Aside from a few more lighter touches, this appears to be the biggest difference we were able to note about the reopened location. NEW Nightmare Before Christmas Starbucks Tumbler Available NOW! An adorable new trend Alright, this might not be “major” in the traditional sense of the word, but if you know anything about us here at DFB, you’ll know that we can’t get enough of the adorable trend of putting tiny little animals in drinks. We’ve spotted a few at eet by Maneet Chauhan, like this dragon… Dragon’s Breath …and this little octopus! Hank’s Gulf Coast Sunset But, we’ve also seen this trend over at The Polite Pig with the Pigsty… Pigsty …and the Pig Lagoon. OINK The BOATHOUSE likely started this whole thing, with its iconic Duck Duck Razz drink featuring a rubber duck. Keep the animal drinks coming, Disney Springs! 25. Disney fans love a shiny new upgrade—except when that upgrade comes with a glaring downside. Attraction Sign at Animal Kingdom directing Guests to Standby Line and Lightning Lane Entrances It’s been a full year since Disney World debuted the Lightning Lane Premier Pass, and while it definitely made waves for being the ultimate “all-access” Lightning Lane option, it’s still missing one very big perk. If you’ve been hoping Disney would fix it by now, bad news: the Premier Pass still does not allow park hopping. Here’s what that means for your trip planning. A Quick Refresher: What Is the Lightning Lane Premier Pass? Disney officially introduced the Lightning Lane Premier Pass on October 30th, 2024, as the top-tier version of their Lightning Lane system. Think of it as the “all-inclusive” option: instead of juggling return times, availability, or having to buy separate Individual Lightning Lanes, the Premier Pass gives you one-time access to every Lightning Lane attraction in a single park for the day. ©Disney Yes, that means all the big-ticket rides are included. TRON Lightcycle / Run, Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind, Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance — the heavy hitters are all on the list. Plus, you don’t have to constantly refresh the app or lock in return windows like you do with the Lightning Lane Multi Pass. You just show up, scan in, and go. You might want to grab a Lightning Lane That convenience is huge, and it’s why the Premier Pass got so much attention when it launched. But here’s where the record scratches. The Big Problem That Hasn’t Changed The Premier Pass is park-specific. When you buy it, you’re locked into one park for the entire day. If you want to park hop, you cannot take your Premier Pass with you. Instead, you’d need to buy another Lightning Lane option (like a Multi Pass) for your second park. Tower of Terror Lightning Lane sign For example, let’s say you spend $349 on a Premier Pass at Hollywood Studios. You ride everything you want there, and then in the afternoon you decide to hop over to EPCOT. You can’t use your Premier Pass anymore. If you want Lightning Lane access at EPCOT, you’ll have to pay extra for a Multi Pass — or just tough it out in standby lines. Frozen Ever After Lightning Lane and Standby Line sign in EPCOT That feels like a big miss for an offering that’s supposed to be the premier experience. Why This Matters More Than You Think Park hopping is a core part of the Disney World experience for a lot of guests. Families might want to hit Magic Kingdom in the morning, then EPCOT for dinner. Hardcore park-goers sometimes try for all four parks in one day. Even casual visitors often bounce between two parks to make the most of their trip. TRON Lightcycle / RUN Lighting Lane Without park hopping, the Premier Pass loses a lot of flexibility. Yes, it’s nice to skip the line on nearly every ride in a park, but if you’re paying up to $449 at Magic Kingdom, being told “sorry, you’re done for the day” once you hop feels pretty restrictive. And with how expensive Premier Passes already are, adding another Lightning Lane purchase on top of that makes the price tag skyrocket. For many families, that can push the experience from “splurge-worthy” into “unrealistic.” Why Hasn’t Disney Fixed It? That’s the million-dollar question. The Premier Pass is advertised as limited-quantity and high-demand, which means Disney knows people are still buying it despite the park-hopping issue. As long as guests are willing to pay, Disney has little incentive to make it more flexible. Kali River Rapids Lightning Lane sign in Disney’s Animal Kingdom From a logistical standpoint, park hopping would also be tricky to manage. Imagine the system having to track one-time access for every attraction across multiple parks in a single day. That’s a much bigger lift than restricting it to one park. Still, it’s the kind of problem you’d expect Disney to tackle with their most expensive Lightning Lane product. So…Is the Premier Pass Worth It? If you’re visiting one park for the entire day and want to guarantee access to every Lightning Lane ride without the stress of booking windows, the Premier Pass can make sense—especially at Magic Kingdom or Hollywood Studios, where high-demand rides can eat up your time. Slinky Dog Dash Lightning Lane But if you’re a park hopper, this pass isn’t designed for you. You’ll either be stuck with standby lines after you leave your first park or paying for a second Lightning Lane product on top of your already hefty Premier Pass bill. Bottom Line The Lightning Lane Premier Pass has been around for a full year, and it still has the same frustrating limitation it launched with: no park hopping. Until Disney changes that, this pass is best for single-park, single-day planners who want to ride it all without worrying about time slots. If hopping between parks is part of your strategy, you’ll want to think twice before investing in Premier Pass. Rise of the Resistance Lightning Lane We’ll keep watching to see if Disney ever adjusts this policy, but for now, the “premier” pass in Disney World still comes with a pretty un-premier catch.
