We know how exciting it is to finally be in Disney World! The months (or years) of planning have all culminated in this moment, and you can’t wait to explore everything the resort has to offer. Disney World is undergoing many changes right now, with numerous attractions and locations permanently closed to make way for expansions (like Pueblo Esperanza and Piston Peak National Park), and others currently undergoing refurbishment. Construction is happening in the old Animation Courtyard While it can be very disappointing to find out that your favorite attraction or location won’t be available while you are in Disney World, we want to prepare you in advance. There are a lot of closures to keep track of, but you don’t have to worry about tracking them yourself, as we have compiled a list of everything closed in Disney World this week. Let’s take a look at the attractions and locations that will be closed this week, from November 15th through November 22nd, at Disney World. Magic Kingdom Mickey’s PhilharMagic As of November 1st, 2025, Mickey’s PhilharMagic in Magic Kingdom is temporarily closed for routine refurbishment. It won’t be closed for long, though, as it is currently anticipated to reopen later in November. Based on the operating hours on Disney World’s website, Mickey’s PhilharMagic will likely be reopening by November 23rd as it is showing hours on that date. Mickey’s PhilharMagic The show is just undergoing a routine refurbishment, so we aren’t expecting any major changes, but you never know — we will be sure to keep you updated. Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin A popular Tomorrowland attraction is closed! Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin has been closed for refurbishment since August 4th, 2025, and isn’t expected to reopen until 2026. While the ride is closed, it will be getting some upgrades! It’s closed! Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin will be getting a new ride scene, new ride vehicles, a new character, and enhanced gameplay elements. Some of those gameplay elements include handheld blasters (soon you can shoot whenever you want!) and reactive targets. We got the chance to take a look at the new ride vehicle and test out the new blasters, and we have to say we were impressed! Fans Rank Pineapple Upside Down Cake Among BEST Snacks in Magic Kingdom Liberty Square Riverboat and Tom Sawyer Island An iconic part of the Magic Kingdom is now permanently closed. As of July 7th, the Rivers of America, including the Liberty Square River Boat and Tom Sawyer Island, are permanently closed to make way for the new Cars area, Piston Peak National Park. There are some construction walls up in the area now, and many of the structures on Tom Sawyer Island have been demolished. The river has also been drained! Rivers of America Piston Peak National Park will be replacing this area of Magic Kingdom. Disney has not yet announced an opening date for the new Cars area, but we do know it will feature two brand-new attractions and be themed to look like a National Park. Big Thunder Mountain Railroad On January 6th, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad closed for an extended temporary closure. The “Wildest Ride in the Wilderness” will be closed for at least a year and will reopen sometime in 2026. The ride will be undergoing maintenance while it is closed. When it reopens, it will have some “new magic,” according to Disney. Big Thunder Mountain Railroad Disney announced some of the new magic! Riders will see “spectacular natural caverns full of phosphorescent pools, shimmering and illuminating iridescent stalagmites (the ones on the floor) and stalactites (the ones on the ceiling)” — the Rainbow Caverns! We can’t wait to see what other changes might be coming to this ever-popular roller coaster! We have spotted some ride testing happening, which was very exciting. Magic Kingdom Leveled Up Its Christmas Decorations for 2025 Disney’s Animal Kingdom Harambe Market — Disney’s Animal Kingdom Harambe Market, a quick-service dining location in Animal Kingdom, has temporarily closed as of October 20th, 2025. It will be closed for a few months, and it is currently expected to reopen in early 2026. While we are sad to see the dining options decrease in Animal Kingdom, there are still lots of delicious options! Harambe Market You can stop by Flame Tree Barbecue or Satu’li Canteen for a tasty, quick-service meal. We aren’t expecting huge changes at Harambe Market during the refurbishment, but we will keep you updated as we learn more! Kali River Rapids Kali River Rapids is about to close for refurbishment! This water adventure has temporarily closed as of October 6th, and it is expected to reopen in December 2025. We aren’t expecting any huge changes to the ride, just some maintenance and general refurbishment. Kali River Rapids We commonly see Kali River Rapids closed during the cooler months for refurbishment. Splashing through a water ride just isn’t the same when it is cooler outside, so we can see why Disney chose the fall or winter months to do some maintenance on this attraction. TriceraTop Spin, Chester & Hester’s Dinosaur Treasures, Fossil Fun Games, The Boneyard, Dino Bite Snacks, and Trilo-Bites The first round of closures began in DinoLand U.S.A. on January 13th, 2025. TriceraTop Spin, Chester & Hester’s Dinosaur Treasures, and Fossil Fun Game were closed down, and construction has begun on the brand-new land themed to the Tropical Americas, Pueblo Esperanza. The Boneyard has permanently closed as of September 2nd. Dino Bite Snacks and Trilo-Bites are also permanently closed as of October 20th, 2025. Pueblo Esperanza Construction It is definitely a sad sight, but we are also excited to see Pueblo Esperanza! DINOSAUR and Restaurantosaurus are still open, but Disney has announced the rest of DinoLand, U.S.A. will be closing for good on February 2nd, 2026. Why Disney Fans Will Be at Animal Kingdom at 6:15 PM Every Night Disney’s Hollywood Studios Vacation Fun – An Original Animated Short with Mickey & Minnie — Disney’s Hollywood Studios Vacation Fun – An Original Animated Short with Mickey & Minnie is temporarily closed as of October 20th, 2025, in Disney’s Hollywood Studios. The good news is that it is just a temporary closure, and it is expected to reopen later this year! Vacation Fun Vacation Fun is joining an already lengthy list of closures in Hollywood Studios, including Animation Courtyard and Muppets Courtyard. There is still plenty to do in Hollywood Studios, but be prepared for a fair amount of construction happening! Animation Courtyard Animation Courtyard closed on September 25th, 2025, to make way for Walt Disney Studios. This new area is expected to open in 2026 and will be a special nod to the Walt Disney Studios lot. Star Wars Launch Bay will be turned into The Magic of Disney Animation. This attraction will have you interacting and exploring with this fun take on Disney Animation headquarters. Working on the Walt Disney Studios area This area will also feature a new Drawn to Wonderland indoor play area and the current Disney Jr. Play and Dance! show will be getting a makeover. During the transformation, you will still be able to visit “The Little Mermaid – A Musical Adventure” and Walt Disney Presents. Muppets Courtyard, including Muppet*Vision 3D, PizzeRizzo, and Mama Melrose’s Ristorante Italiano Muppet*Vision 3D AND PizzeRizzo closed on June 8th, and Muppets Courtyard has been walled off so construction can begin on the new Monsters, Inc. land. Mama Melrose’s Ristorante Italiano has been closed since May 11th. Recently, the Muppet*Vision 3D sign was officially taken down! Farewell Muppet*Vision Sign Don’t worry, the Muppets won’t be missing from Disney’s Hollywood Studios forever. The Muppets will eventually be taking over Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster in 2026. I’m Suddenly DREADING This Hollywood Studios Ride Change Blizzard Beach Blizzard Beach has been closed since September 8th, 2025! While it has been wonderful having BOTH Blizzard Beach and Typhoon Lagoon open at the same time this summer (which was the first time this has happened in YEARS), that has now come to an end. Blizzard Beach is now closed for refurbishment. Blizzard Beach Have no fear, though, if you are looking for somewhere to cool off and enjoy some fun in the water, Typhoon Lagoon will still be open! Although keep an eye on the weather, as Typhoon Lagoon will close when the temperatures become colder. REVIEWS: What to Eat (And What to AVOID) at Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon Water Park Disney World Hotels Promenade Fine Art Gallery — Disney’s BoardWalk Inn and Resort The Promenade Fine Art Gallery will be closing its Disney’s BoardWalk location on October 20th, 2025. However, the Promenade Fine Art Gallery isn’t closing for good, and it will just be moving to a new location. Promenade Fine Art Gallery The gallery hasn’t announced yet where that new location will be, but we will keep you updated as we learn more! The Paddock Pool, Aquatic Play Area, and The Paddock Grill — Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort The Paddock Pool, the aquatic play area, and The Paddock Grill will be closed from October 13th, 2025, until early December for routine maintenance. Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort As we enter the cooler months, we are seeing more hotel pools undergoing routine maintenance. It is all an important part in making sure the Walt Disney World Resort is looking its best. Leisure Pool at Miller’s Road — Disney’s Old Key West Resort If you are staying at Old Key West soon, you will want to take note of this closure! From September 29th through late November, the leisure pool at Miller’s Road will be closed for routine maintenance. Disney’s Old Key West Good news, though. The Sandcastle Pool and both leisure pools at Old Turtle Pond and South Point will still be open. So, there will be plenty of options for having some poolside fun! The Samawati Springs Pool Slide — Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge Starting on September 8th, the Samawati Springs Pool Slide will be closing at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge — Kidani Village for routine maintenance. Disney hasn’t announced a date for when the slide will reopen. Samawati Springs Pool If you’re staying at the resort, there will still be another water slide option for you to enjoy at the Uzima Springs Pool! ONLY the slide at The Samawati Springs Pool will be closed; you can still use the pool, just not the slide. You just may see or hear construction at work. Jellyrolls — Disney’s BoardWalk Jellyrolls at Disney’s BoardWalk officially closed on April 19th, 2025. This entertainment venue has provided our team with countless memories, and we know many others are also sad to see it close. Jellyrolls had its final farewell performance on April 19th and closed its doors forever on Disney’s BoardWalk. Jellyrolls at Disney’s BoardWalk However, this isn’t the end for Jellyrolls, as the bar has said they are “making a move.” We don’t know many details about that move yet, but we will keep you updated. If you’re wondering what grandma is cooking up for the holiday this year, come along with us as we check out Grandma’s Recipes booth at the Disney California Adventure Festival of Holidays! Grandma’s Recipes The 2025 Disney California Adventure Festival of Holidays has officially begun at Disneyland Resort, and there are LOTS of things to do. From now through January 7th, 2026, you can devour some tasty eats and drinks, check out unique entertainment, and more. Wondering just what you can eat at Grandma’s Recipes booth? Well, we’ve checked it out and now we’re sharing our FULL thoughts. Menu This year, you’ll find several returning items at Grandma’s Recipes! It’s a small menu with just two food items and two drinks, and just ONE item is NEW for 2025. The Barbacoa Tamal de Res and the Cookie Dough Yule Log both return from last year, along with the returning Café de Olla Cold Brew. New for 2025 is a boozy Café de Olla Carajillo Cocktail made with Spanish liqueur, Joffrey’s Mexico Origin Coffee, whole and condensed milk, and house-made spiced piloncillo syrup topped with a chocolate dulce de leche sweet cream and garnished with a mini pan dulce. 2025 Grandma’s Recipes Menu Now that we’ve taken a look at the menu, let’s dive into the food itself! Eats The Barbacoa Tamal de Res is back again this year and is made with Oaxaca cheese, tomatillo salsa, and crema, and you can order it for $9.75. Barbacoa Tamal de Res (2024) Last year, we found this to be a really good dish with a spicy kick, and we found the same this year. If you’re someone who doesn’t mind that kick and knows that this is a flavor profile you enjoy, this is definitely one you want to grab. Barbacoa Tamal de Res (2024) Also returning this year is the festive Cookie Dough Yule Log filled with chocolate chip cookie dough and white chocolate mousse covered with chocolate buttercream. You can buy this item for $8.50. Cookie Dough Yule Log We really enjoyed this dessert last year, and it was made for cookie dough fans! This year, we consider it to be one of our favorite items of the festival! It’s got lots of fun flavors, smooth chocolate frosting, and moist cake. The cookie dough center is a tasty surprise, and it’s just a bonus that it’s cute and photogenic! Drinks Returning for 2025 is the non-boozy Café de Olla Cold Brew made with Joffrey’s Mexico Origin Coffee, whole and condensed milk, and house-made spiced piloncillo syrup topped with a chocolate dulce de leche sweet cream and garnished with a mini pan dulce for $7.75. Café de Olla Cold Brew You need to enjoy cold brew to like this drink (based on our reporter’s review last year). The mini pan dulce is a bonus snack with this iced coffee. This year, the cinnamon cold brew is good, but the concha gets soggy, so we recommend taking it out ASAP and eating it normally, or just dipping it as you go. The concha had a hint of strawberry to it, which we enjoyed, and it paired great with the creamy and sweet coffee. Be sure to take that concha out fast! New for 2025 is a boozy Café de Olla Carajillo Cocktail made with Spanish liqueur, Joffrey’s Mexico Origin Coffee, whole and condensed milk, and house-made spiced piloncillo syrup topped with a chocolate dulce de leche sweet cream and garnished with a mini pan dulce for $19.00! (Yes, a boozy iced coffee for almost $20). The only difference — other than the price — between this and the non-boozy iced coffee is the addition of the Spanish liqueur. OVERALL Overall, this is a pretty solid booth that rarely lets us down. If you enjoy sweet snacks and drinks, and/or need a little caffeine pick-me-up during your festival day, we think this is a great spot to head to. Grandma’s Recipes Full Spread That’s it for this booth, but there’s a LOT more where that came from! Click here to see FULL menus and food photos of EVERY. SINGLE. When Toy Story Land opened in Disney’s Hollywood Studios in 2018, it wowed fans with its incredible theming and larger-than-life set pieces. Toy Story Land at Disney’s Hollywood Studios With three rides and a popular quick service restaurant (followed by a table service spot and gift shop that opened a few years later) inside a land based on a beloved movie series, it’s no wonder that Toy Story Land stays busy year-round. But if there’s one complaint that the masses have about the land…it’s the lack of shade! You see, when you’re building a land that’s “located” in Andy’s backyard and we’re all meant to be the size of Green Army Men, it’s likely that you want guests to have an unobstructed view of how large everything around them is. Unfortunately, that means that there’s a LOT of direct sun when you’re walking through the land. Slinky Dog Dash in Toy Story Land Recently, Disney began constructing a new popcorn stand in Toy Story Land, near the iconic “Cooties” bathrooms. When the walls went up a few months ago, there wasn’t much telling what it would be, and fans got their hopes up for some more shade. It is a popcorn bucket! We posted photos of the new popcorn stand (whose sign is visible above the edges of the walls) and several Disney Adults expressed their disappointment in the comments that the construction wasn’t a way to inject more shade into Toy Story Land. One follower said, “They’re doing everything but giving us shade ! They could easily make huge blades of grass (like in Honey I Shrunk the Kids playground) and that can be the shade and play to the Andy’s backyard aspect!” Something has “popped” up in Hollywood Studios! Another joked, “With absolutely no shade added ,” while one person said, “More shade is needed over there. It’s the pits of hell in the heat.” Wow, fans have some strong feelings on this topic! Toy Story Land at Hollywood Studios Some commenters shared that they hope the new snack spot will come with shaded tables nearby. Currently, there are walls up on the side by the popcorn stand as well as walls across the street on the corner of Galaxy’s Edge. We can cross our fingers that one of these sections will come with a seating area…WITH umbrellas, please! Galaxy’s Edge-side construction In all honesty, we totally understand how the fans feel. We’re in the parks nearly every day of the year, and that means our team is out there sweating it out with you guys in those sweltering summer months. Team Add More Shade to Toy Story Land unite! Where is the SHADE? Of course, we’ll keep an eye on the construction and we’ll let you know when the popcorn stand opens. We can’t wait to check it out! In the summer of 2025, Walt Disney World opened the Beak and Barrel lounge at the Magic Kingdom. The Pirates of the Caribbean-themed space has proven to be immensely popular, BUT there are definitely some issues that have Disney experts concerned. Rummy! Over my 7+ years writing about Disney theme parks — and 5x as long visiting them — I can’t remember too many restaurants that garnered quite as much anticipation as the Beak and Barrel. The highly themed establishment, which Disney describes as a spot where “bandits and buccaneers-to-be from every corner of the seven seas are welcome to join together and raise a toast to the pirate life!” The lounge is full of references and easter eggs for eagle-eyed guests to spot… if they have the time. Much like the similar Galaxy’s Edge establishment Oga’s Cantina, The Beak and Barrel has a STRICT 45-minute time limit. According to the experts on our team – as well as multiple commenters on Facebook and other guest reviewers — this has been the major issue many guests have with the establishment. The Beak and Barrel Between sitting, ordering, and receiving their food and drink, many feel they have little to no time to enjoy the establishment or to take in every it of theming in the lounge, especially in whichever room they’re not sitting in. Beak and Barrel While it’s understandable why Disney enforces this time limit so strictly, given how busy the bar is, it’s still a bummer for many who want to take in every element of the bar. Treasures However, the time limit isn’t the ONLY issue plaguing the Beak and Barrel. Some other problems include: Seating Issues: Given the lounge’s size and demand for reservations, there’s a very good chance that a smaller party (especially those of 2 or 1) may end up seated with another party, or simply given a standing room space. While this isn’t a dealbreaker, it’s definitely something to keep in mind and be prepared for if you score a reservation. Furthermore, as mentioned above, it can sometimes be tough to see everything in the restaurant. This can be further amplified based on your seats or assigned standing room spot. To be blunt, several spots make it hard to see, for example, the animatronic show featuring Rummy the parrot. The space is LOUD: The lounge’s small size and compressed crowds can make it quite loud inside, and in turn may make the experience overwhelming to the point of being incomprehensible. The Beak and Barrel The Magic Kingdom’s Pirates of the Caribbean-themed Beak and Barrel is one of the most popular spots in Walt Disney World right now, with reservations still hard to come by months after its debut. However, there are still some issues with the popular lounge that have our experts wary. Get ready to loosen your belt a notch because the Swan & Dolphin Food & Wine Classic is back, and we’re so ready. We tried all the food at this event, and we’re sharing our favorites! It’s time for the Food and Wine Classic! Each year at the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Resort, food-lovers and Disney fans alike gather for two evenings of unlimited bites, sips, and fun along the scenic causeway between the hotels. The 2025 edition runs on Friday, November 14, and Saturday, November 15, starting at 5:30 PM. With dozens of restaurants participating, live entertainment, and beverage pairings from around the world, it’s one of the most delicious weekends on property. So here are the dishes that we are still thinking about! From the moment we step onto the causeway and catch that first aroma from the booths, our team knows what to look for: bold flavors and dishes that make us stop in our tracks. We tried everything from gourmet small plates by the resort’s top chefs and a few refreshing drinks. We’ll let you know exactly which items had us coming back for seconds (or thirds!). There’s so much to eat! Over at Bourbon Steak, the Slow Braised Wagyu Beef Short Rib with Celery Root Espuma and Shallot Marmalade is beautifully done. It still has really great fatty pieces where the meat needs to be nice and tender, and that bourbon glaze around it just really hits, especially whenever it’s warm. The accompaniments elevate the flavor fantastically as well — the sauce, the carrot, and the little microgreens are just beautiful on it and really add to the brightness of the flavor. Slow Braised Wagyu Beef Short Rib Beer Garden has some great Chicken Wings this year that you won’t want to miss. These were perfectly juicy and lightly sprinkled with breading at the top that added more texture than flavor, which we loved. They’re coated in a sweet buffalo sauce, giving them a little pop of a kick to it and spice, but not anything that lingered or was too heavy. Chicken Wings Beer Garden (specifically Carnival Corner) is also home to the Pineapple Upside Down Cake with Ice Cream, and Disney, we need this in the parks ASAP! This was one of the most delicious eats we’ve ever had. It’s covered with just enough powdered sugar to be perfect, and to us, it’s worth the ticket alone to sit here and eat as much funnel cake with Pineapple Dole Whip as we want — if you want something sweet, this is the way to go! Pineapple Upside Down Cake with Ice Cream Finally, over at Chinatown, the Shu Mein is vegan, but a great choice for everyone who enjoys noodles, in our eyes! If you’re a fan of Captain Cook’s noodles but really want a Chinese filter on it instead of pan-Asian, this is definitely a dish to grab. It’s topped with a few toppings like little chives and pieces of tofu that, texture-wise wise taste like meat to the noodles, but the noodles themselves are also cooked very well. We added a little extra soy sauce, which made it a little extra soupy, but so good in the flavor department — just like ones you’d pick up at the Polynesian, with a Chinese spin. We can’t recommend it enough! Shu Mein This year’s Food & Wine Classic ends TONIGHT, November 15th, but if you missed it this time around, you can keep a lookout for tickets to drop for next year’s event — we’ll be sure to keep you updated. Travel delays can ruin even the best-planned trip. Orlando International Airport When I was flying from Houston to Charleston recently, I got stuck overnight in Atlanta. I was tired, frustrated, and ready to sleep anywhere that wasn’t a cold, bright gate chair. The airline offered me a hotel voucher, but I didn’t take it, and it ended up being one of the best travel decisions I’ve ever made. Let’s talk about the $232 I spent that completely changed how I think about airport layovers. So here’s the situation. When I learned I would be stuck in Atlanta overnight, I was told there might be a few standby options, so I stuck around hoping something would open up. By the time I finally gave up, it was well after midnight. At that point, heading to a hotel didn’t feel worth the effort. I would’ve had to get the voucher, call a shuttle, check in, sleep for maybe three hours, and then do the whole thing in reverse to get back through security before sunrise. That’s when I saw it: the Minute Suites. ©Priority Pass If you’ve never heard of them, they’re essentially small private rooms located inside the airport. Each one comes with a door that locks, a comfy daybed sofa (that can sleep two people), clean pillows, and fresh blankets. There’s also a desk, a desk chair, and charging ports, plus a TV that lets you access DirecTV and Netflix. ©Minute Suites The suite I stayed in even had an Amazon Alexa to help adjust the lighting and volume, and the Wi-Fi was fast enough to stream or get some work done without interruption. ©Minute Suites Some locations also offer shower facilities, which you can book separately. Mine in Atlanta did, and while I didn’t end up using it this time, it’s nice to know it’s an option for those long-haul travel days when you just need to feel human again. ©Minute Suites Now, it wasn’t cheap. I was quoted $70 per hour or $232 for an overnight stay. I hesitated for about five seconds before deciding my sanity was worth it. The second I closed the door behind me, I knew I’d made the right call. The room was dark, quiet, and private, three things you rarely get in an airport. I stretched out on the daybed, set an alarm, and finally got some real rest. No overhead announcements, no flickering fluorescent lights, and no worrying about someone grabbing my bag while I tried to doze off. ©Minute Suites Could I have saved money by using the free hotel voucher? Definitely. But there’s something to be said about the peace of mind that comes with staying inside the airport. I didn’t have to think about shuttles or traffic or security lines in the morning. When I woke up, I just gathered my things, walked a few minutes to my gate, and was ready to board. ©Minute Suites If you’ve ever had to sleep in an airport before, you know the struggle. The chairs are usually impossible to get comfortable in, the lights never go off, and you’re constantly half-awake keeping an eye on your stuff. After this experience, I can safely say that spending the money for a Minute Suite was absolutely worth it. These suites aren’t just in Atlanta either. You can find them in several major airports including: Houston (IAH) Dallas/Fort Worth (DFW) Nashville (BNA) Philadelphia (PHI) Salt Lake City (SLC) New York’s JFK Baltimore (BWI) Charlotte (CLT) Newark (EWR) So if you ever find yourself stuck between flights in one of these cities, this might be your new favorite airport hack. ©Minute Suites For business travelers, this setup makes even more sense. Between the desk, fast Wi-Fi, and quiet environment, it’s perfect for anyone who needs to take a call, finish some work, or just reset before the next leg of their journey. And for families, it can be a lifesaver, especially when you’re traveling with little ones who need a nap or some downtime away from the airport chaos. ©Priority Pass I think that’s what makes Minute Suites such a game changer. It’s not necessarily about luxury; it’s about comfort and convenience when you need them most. Whether you’re exhausted after a long travel day or just need a few hours to recharge, it’s a way to reclaim a bit of control in a situation where you usually have none. ©Priority Pass So yes, I spent $232 to sleep in an airport, and I’d do it again in a heartbeat. Next time I get stranded between flights, I’ll be booking a Minute Suite before I even think about heading to a hotel. It might not be the cheapest option, but after one truly restful night in the middle of a travel nightmare, I can confidently say it’s worth every penny. ©Minute Suites If you ever find yourself stuck overnight during your next Disney trip or flight home, remember this: Sometimes convenience is the real travel luxury. ©Minute Suites We’re constantly bringing you tips and tricks that could help you on your upcoming Disney World trip, so make sure you keep following Disney Food Blog for more. Disney World is currently in its CHANGE era, apparently, because changes are happening everywhere. There are three new lands on the way, which will bring new rides, as well as a huge expansion in Magic Kingdom. Some rides are even getting some major updates. France Pavilion Now, EPCOT went through a massive transformation not too long ago. That transformation included the addition of Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure in the France Pavilion. Well, that relatively new ride just went through a major change…and we headed straight to EPCOT to check it out. Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure was closed from November 10th through 13th to make a huge update to the ride. The 3D attraction was converted to a 2D ride. Well, the ride recently reopened, and we got to see just how different it looked. The first change we noticed is that the area where you would normally pick up 3D glasses for the ride has a curtain in front of it. So that’s something new. Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure queue When we got on the ride vehicle, it felt a little weird not having the glasses on, but the ride itself is the same. The 2D screens look really good with very clear images, so we were glad to see that the film part of the ride looked great. Our photos don’t really do it justice, but it is hard to snap a photo while you’re moving around! Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure So that’s a lot different from the previous ride. One thing we noticed is that without the 3D, it feels a little less immersive because you don’t have those sort of “in-your-face” moments that made it seem so realistic. The ride itself, though, is just as enjoyable, and we can imagine that a lot of folks who get motion sickness with 3D will really appreciate this change. I, personally, got nauseous with the 3D version, so this 2D version means I can ride it again without worrying about how I’ll feel after! Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure It’s nice that Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure is now a little more accessible to Disney World visitors, and the truth is if you haven’t been on it before, you probably won’t even notice that lack of immersion we felt. Disney has plans for more updates to the ride and its queue, too, so we might see some new details added to bring that feeling of immersion back with 2D. Stay tuned to DFB for more. Yo ho matey’s! Do you know where all the pirates aboard Disney’s newest cruise ship, the Disney Destiny, will be hanging out during their voyage across the sea? Cask & Cannon The Disney Destiny is setting sail for the first time on November 20th, and we are so excited! The brand-new ship is themed to heroes and villains, and you’ll encounter many of your favorite characters from Disney to Marvel. We got a chance to get an early look at the Disney Destiny, and we found the burried treasure (a lounge) where every mate will be hanging out! Before we dive in, if you’re wanting to cruise with Disney, the agents at Small World Vacations know how to save you money! When you book your trip with Small World Vacations, their experienced agents monitor your reservation for possible future savings. They also compare discounts and figure out which one works best for your travel party, dates, resort, and touring plans. And they share expert tips and first-hand advice with you about your magical vacation. It’s time to step into Cask & Cannon — the pirate-themed lounge on the Disney Destiny. Right off the bat, we knew this was somewhere we could see us coming to time and time again. The whole lounge has striking details. Dead Men Tell No Tales banner! It has nice seatng areas from individual chairs to big booths. It felt like we were sitting and drinking in a pirate ship. You can even sit on barrels! Seating There was some cool decor on the walls and on the shelves. We could see things like treasure, candles, rum bottles, and other antique items. Decor on the shelves There were also swords mounted on the wall — hopefully there aren’t any bar fights that’ll get started! Swords on the wall On the bar counter we could see the Dead Man’s Chest with bottles of The Kraken next to it. The themeing here was amazing! Dead Man’s Chest Also, check out the taps. There’s a kraken tentacle, a parrot on a barrel, keys… The tap …and more themed taps. More of the tap There are tons of food and beverage options available at this lounge. Should we start getting into the drinks? The menu The first thing we had was the Shiver Me Timbers for $20. This was made wiht Barrel Aged Goslings Spirited Seas Ocean Aged Rum, Demerara, and Orange Bitters. This is very much like an old fashion with rum. It’s very tasty and the rum is very smooth. It’s a strong drink — not nearly as sweet as other old fashioned drinks with more simple syrup in them. Shiver Me Timbers That being said, it was well-balanced with enough sugar in it to keep it from having a real bite. Again, the rum was good, and the orange citrus taste was a nice addition. This was very tasty! Next, we had the Drink Up Me Hearties for $15. It was made with Bacoo 11 Year Tequila Cask Rum, Patron Reposado, Giffard Banane du Bresil, and Cream. This is NOT a Pina Colada, BUT if you like Pina Colada you might like this. This has a tropical fruity flavor with that creamy mouth feel. Drink Up Me Hearties If you don’t like sweet drinks, this is not the one for you! The cream floats on the top, so you’ll need to stir it quite a bit to get the cream to mix in nicely. If you’re a tropical drink fan, this is one you 100% need to pick at Cask & Cannon. It’s a sweeter drink! After that, we had The Kraken for $14, which is made with Kraken Black Spiced Rum, Cointreau, Lime, Orgeat, and Ginger. This drink is like ginger beer spiked with rum, and that is the extent of the flavors we personally get from it. We’re not complaining, it is delicious, but if you are expecting something more complex, you will not find it here. There’s a gummy candy “kraken tentacle” floating in there, too! The Kraken! It is sweet but not overly sweet, refreshing in its own way, and leaves a warm burn in your stomach. If you love a Moscow Mule, give this a try. It is rum instead of vodka, with a very strong ginger beer flavor and just enough subtle extras to set it apart, at least on paper. This one was interesting! Last, but not least, we had The Dead Man’s Chest for $25. This is an experience for two pirates, and is made with Zacapa 23 Solera Rum, Pineapple, Lime, Agave, and Coconut Froth. Dead Man’s Chest! The Dead Man’s Chest is billed as an experience for two, and it really is. Your server brings out a small wooden treasure chest, opens it, and inside are two identical cocktails set on uplights so they glow through the smoke that spills out. This is an experience! There are even a few gold-wrapped chocolate coins tucked in the bottom. Chocolate coin! It’s theatrical, fun, and honestly a pretty good deal—most cocktails on the ship run $18–$25, and this entire chest with two drinks is $25 total. How cool is this?! The drinks themselves are served in highball glasses and taste like a classic tropical rum punch. You get strong pineapple and coconut flavors, with pineapple taking the lead. Let’s have a taste! If you like pineapple juice or rum punch, this will hit the spot. Plus, getting a matching drink with your travel partner and capturing the chest reveal makes for a great little moment — and a great video. Cheers! This lounge is unique, fun, and overall a great experience. You need to make sure you stop by here whenever you find yourself on the Disney Destiny. We’ve got lots more to show you with this brand-new cruise, so make sure to stay tuned to the Disney Food Blog for more! At the start of 2026, EPCOT will kick off one of the most beautiful and creative festivals, but some fans are already annoyed by it! EPCOT Festival of the Arts! If you’ve spent any time in the Disney fan community, there can be acronyms for a lot of things. For example, RnR is for Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster, and LWTL is for Living with the Land. Which brings us to the EPCOT International Festival of the Arts, affectionately (and accidentally) dubbed “FArts” by fans for short. Yes, it stands for Festival of the Arts, but that hasn’t stopped the internet from having a field day with the acronym! What Is the EPCOT International Festival of the Arts? The Festival of the Arts is one of EPCOT’s most visually stunning events with a mashup of art, music, and food that celebrates imagination in every form. In 2026, the festival will run from January 16 through February 23, bringing six colorful weeks of creative fun to Disney World. This fan-favorite festival first debuted in 2017 and has grown into one of the most photogenic and interactive experiences EPCOT offers all year. 2025 EPCOT Festival of the Arts Guests can expect to sample gorgeous, art-inspired dishes at food booths, where the chefs turn every plate into a masterpiece. Think desserts that look like paint palettes and beautifully plated bites that are almost too pretty to eat (almost). Our team is there on opening day to try everything so you, our readers, can know what’s worth your time and money. Rainbow Cake The “FArts” Phenomenon Now, let’s talk about that nickname. Disney fans love their abbreviations — we’ve got MNSSHP (Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party), MVMCP (Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party), and of course, FArts (Festival of the Arts). The acronym has been around for years, but it never fails to make newcomers stop mid-scroll and laugh. Festival of the Arts One reader, Elysha Savarese, commented on DFB’s page, “I love FARTS!!!!” Others in the community have chimed in with jokes like “Best name ever” and “I can’t take it seriously, but I’ll still book my trip!” However, some fans are not as pleased. One reader wrote, “I’ll Never Get Over That Lady Calling It Farts”. To be fair, something about beautiful art and food does not mix with the nickname. 2025 Festival of the Arts What’s Been Confirmed for 2026 Disney has already shared some exciting details for the 2026 festival lineup! The beloved Disney on Broadway Concert Series will return to the America Gardens Theatre, featuring Broadway stars performing Disney classics live. Dining packages will also be available later, which guarantee you reserved seating for a concert night (a must-do if you want to skip the standby lines). Aladdin on Broadway Returning favorites include Figment’s Brush with the Masters scavenger hunt, where you’ll search World Showcase for Figment as he sneaks into famous works of art, and the always-popular Animation Academy, paint-by-number murals, and interactive photo ops. Of course, there will also be plenty of exclusive festival merchandise! The holidays have officially arrived at Disney Springs! The Christmas trees are up, holiday treats have arrived, and the nightly “snoapfall” has returned. The holidays are so magical at Disney World, and Disney Springs is celebrating the holidays big time. There is so much to do, and the best part is that you don’t even need a park ticket to take part in the festivities at Disney Springs. Holidays at Disney Springs We had the chance to get a sneak peek at some of the holiday festivities and officially kick the holiday season off at Disney Springs. Let’s go! There is A LOT happening at Disney Springs to celebrate the holidays! We had the opportunity to kick off the holiday season at Disney Springs with a special Christmas tree lighting. The ceremony kicked off with a performance by the Holiday Brass Band, which you can catch daily in Disney Springs during the holidays (at 6 PM, 7 PM, 8 PM, and 9 PM). Holiday Brass Band Then a family was brought onstage to help light up the gorgeous tree in Town Center. In Disney fashion, the tree is lit with pixie dust, which is blown onto it to light it up and welcome the holiday season. Of course, there was also plenty of snoap falling too! It’s the holiday season in Disney Springs! You can also see this beautiful tree all lit up and catch snoap falling in Disney Springs! The nightly snowfall occurs every half hour, beginning at sundown, near the Town Center tree. The Town Center tree isn’t the only Christmas tree you will find in Disney Springs, though! The Disney Springs Christmas Tree Stroll is also back this year. You can grab a complimentary map and find the 19 themed trees located throughout Disney Springs. It’s snoaping! Match the stickers on the map to the corresponding trees, and then return your map to a redemption location for a special surprise! You will find all sorts of themes, including Encanto, Coco, Toy Story, Star Wars, and more. It is a free activity that we always love doing during the holiday season. While you are finding trees, you can also do some shopping and dining. ‘Encanto’ Christmas Tree But that is not all! You can also find tons of themed goodies all across Disney Springs, including special bites and sips at Jock Lindsey’s Holiday Hangar Bar. We were able to try a sampling of these items during the kickoff celebration, but you can also check out our full review of the new menu items. Holiday Drinks at Jock Lindsey’s Hangar Bar Plus, Jock Lindsey’s is also decorated for the holidays! It’s hard to beat festive eats and drinks with gorgeous holiday decor.
