  2. So, we don’t want to brag or anything, but we’d like to think that Disney World listens to us when we have a valid complaint. For example, y’all know we were pretty loud about it when the hushpuppies disappeared from the menu at Columbia Harbour House in Magic Kingdom. But, lo and behold, those hushpuppies came back. Liquid Nitrogen Minnie cake pop We also raised a bit of a fuss over the waffles at Sleepy Hollow when they switched from regular waffles to Mickey waffles. Now, we normally love Mickey-shaped food, but the new waffles did NOT stand up. But, hey, Disney changed those back to round waffles. Well, there’s another treat in Disney World that we think Disney listened to us about, and we’re HAPPY they did! Okay, so Swirled Showcase likes to offer some kind of liquid nitrogen snack during EPCOT festivals. Back in 2024, the food booth offered a Liquid Nitrogen Frozen Sweet Potato Mousse with candied pecans and maple-caramel sauce for the EPCOT Food and Wine Festival. And if that doesn’t sound appetizing, well, we know…it really wasn’t. It looked like cat food (and we said as much). Liquid Nitrogen Frozen Sweet Potato Mousse Well, Disney seemed to have learned its lesson and offered a Holiday Mickey-shaped Liquid Nitrogen Pop for the 2024 EPCOT Festival of the Holidays, which turned out to be super cute and pretty tasty. It was also so much fun to watch the Disney chefs make it. Holiday Mickey-shaped Liquid Nitrogen Pop Now, the pop we could get behind. So we were happy to see it return as the Liquid Nitrogen Minnie Cake Pop with berry sponge cake, white chocolate ganache, and colorful chocolate splats at the 2025 EPCOT Festival of the Arts. It was even cuter and tastier! So the cake pop was a win! We love the cake pops However, Disney got a little creative again with the liquid nitrogen snack at the 2025 EPCOT Food and Wine Festival. Now, we didn’t mind because the Liquid Nitrogen Frozen Pumpkin Cheesecake Mousse, featuring Philadelphia Cream Cheese, candied pecans, and maple-caramel sauce, really wowed us! It tasted like fall, and it looked nice, too. Liquid Nitrogen Frozen Pumpkin Cheesecake Mousse Well, that leads us to the horror show that was Swirled Showcase’s liquid nitrogen snack at the 2025 Festival of the Holidays. The Liquid Nitrogen Chocolate-Peppermint Mousse featuring M&M’S Holiday Mint Chocolate Candies looked like well, it looked like something our cat puked up, with M&MS thrown on top. Granted, it tasted okay, but we had to close our eyes to eat it. Liquid Nitrogen Chocolate-Peppermint Mousse featuring M&M’S Holiday Mint Chocolate Candies Well, we think Disney got the memo, because…whew…the Liquid Nitrogen Minnie Cake Pop is making a comeback for the 2026 Festival of the Arts, which begins on January 16th and runs through February 23rd. This is a much more eye-appealing treat. It makes sense that the pretty treat ends up with the EPCOT Festival of the Arts, though, because the festival is focused on the arts, including the culinary arts…and well, presentation is a huge part of that. Liquid Nitrogen Minnie Cake Pop ©Disney This year’s cake pop is a little different, too: instead of a berry sponge cake, it’s got a cotton candy sponge cake. We can’t wait to try it out! We’ll be at the festival on day one trying EVERYTHING, so you’ll want to make sure to stay tuned to DFB for ALL the reviews! 8 Menu Items To Order If You Want To Win a PRIZE at the EPCOT Festival of the Arts Join the DFB Newsletter to get all the breaking news right in your inbox! EPCOT’s Spaceship Earth Proof of Florida residency is required for these tickets, so keep that in mind before you purchase. 4. When you’re planning a trip to Disney World, there are TONS of options for where to stay during your visit. You can stay at a Disney-owned resort, a non-Disney resort located at Disney World, one of the many hotels and resorts off Disney World, or even an Airbnb. As for us, we prefer to stay at a Disney resort. Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort Disney resorts come with many perks, including transportation to the parks, Early Entry, Extended Evening Hours, and all the fun Disney atmosphere. Of course, there are different tiers of Disney resorts, and finding the one best for you can feel daunting. If you’ve been considering staying at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort but it’s outside your budget, we recommend another beach-themed resort instead! All the Beachy Vibes at a Cheaper Price When you stay at the Polynesian Resort, you get beautiful sandy beaches with a great view and plenty of places to lounge. The whole hotel is themed for the Polynesian culture and island way of life. But as a Deluxe resort, rooms come with a relatively high price point. View from the Polynesian Village Resort’s Island Tower That’s why we love the Caribbean Beach Resort! This hotel also has a beach theme with sandy beaches to relax the day away. There are hammocks to chill in, or if you’re interested in other recreational activities, you can play sand volleyball, go fishing, or play at the playground! Caribbean Beach Resort Caribbean Beach Resort is a Moderate resort, so the cost is typically less than staying at the Polynesian. The biggest difference between a Deluxe and a Moderate resort is that those staying at Deluxe resorts get Extended Evening Hours at the parks on select days. However, both resort levels get Early Entry into all four parks every day. Go chill on the beach! Don’t Forget About the Skyliner The Polynesian Resort is a Monorail resort, which means that the Disney Monorail runs right through it to take you to Magic Kingdom. But don’t discount the transportation at the Caribbean Beach Resort! Here, you have access to the Disney Skyliner, with routes directly to Hollywood Studios and EPCOT. Disney Skyliner The Skyliner station at the Caribbean Beach Resort is the main hub where you can get right on the Skyliner to either park. This is a HUGE perk as the Skyliner is usually pretty quick at getting you to and from the parks and your hotel. Disney Skyliner The biggest exceptions to this are right away in the morning when it can be busy, and late at night from EPCOT after the park closes. This line can get VERY long. But you’ll see a similar wait for the Monorail from Magic Kingdom to the Polynesian at night, too. The Pool Is SUPER Cool Both resorts have some pretty neat swimming pools, but the Fuentes del Morro pool at the Caribbean Beach Resort is SUPER cool. This pool is a zero-entry pool that is designed to embody a colonial Spanish fortress. There are 2 waterslides, one that is 102 feet long, and two water canons. There’s also a kiddie play area with mini water slides, a crow’s nest, and a barrel that will drench you in its downpour. Fuentes del Morro Pool And if the Fuentes del Morro pool isn’t enough to keep you and your family occupied, or you’re looking for a little more peace and quiet, there are five leisure pools located around Caribbean Beach Resort. Fuentes del Morro pool Four Words: Cheaper ‘Ohana Bread Pudding One of our all-time favorite desserts is at the Polynesian Resort — ‘Ohana Bread Pudding. You can get it at ‘Ohana during dinner and, if you ask, sometimes at Tambu Lounge. But the cost to dine at ‘Ohana, where you can grab a family-style dinner, is NOT cheap. Dinner costs $67 per adult and $44 per child. ‘Ohana bread pudding On the other hand, if you’re not willing to shell out nearly $70 for a meal to get the ‘Ohana Bread Pudding, you can check out Sebastian’s Bistro at the Caribbean Beach Resort, where they have a VERY similar bread pudding for a fraction of the cost. Sebastian’s Bistro is also a family-style restaurant, but dinner will only cost you $39 per adult and $21 per child. House-made Coconut Pineapple Bread Pudding The Celebrated House-made Coconut-Pineapple Bread Pudding is essentially ‘Ohana Bread Pudding, and we love it just as much (especially since we don’t have to pay nearly as much for it). YUM Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort is a great alternative to Disney’s Polynesian Village. It is a Moderate resort with all the beachy vibes you could ask for. There’s great dining, a fun atmosphere, and access to the Disney Skyliner. It might even top the Polynesian hotel with its cheaper price point! We’ve stayed at every Disney World hotel, so if you’re looking for help deciding which one will suit your family on your next vacation, keep following the DisneyFoodBlog and check out our friends at Small World Vacations! 5. Get ready for some mayhem in summer 2026 because the Muppets will have officially taken over the Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster! Disney announced Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster starring The Muppets back in November 2024, and we’ve been watching updates on this retheme like a hawk. ©Disney While we’re sad to see the original version of this ride go, we are THRILLED that the Muppets will have a new home at Hollywood Studios. Ahead of the ride’s official reopening, Disney has filed another permit to install set elements at Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster! Walt Disney Imagineering has filed a new permit to install set elements at Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets. The permit lists Jon Richards Company, FL, as the contractor performing the work — a company we’ve seen on previous permits for this project. They primarily work in set design and lighting, so we’re excited to see what changes will come once the ride officially reopens. ©Disney We previously reported that the pre-show for the Aerosmith version of the ride was closed, so this permit could be for installing the set elements for the new pre-show or the ride itself, which will feature Electric Mayhem recording a jam session in the studio once used by Aerosmith. With that pre-show now closed, Disney may work on that part of the ride first. ©Disney Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster is set to completely close on March 2nd, with the new Muppets version of the ride set to open in summer 2026. That’s a pretty short window for such a huge ride change, but the ride will be closed for at least a couple of months before it reopens. With the short window, we’re not expecting major changes to the ride itself — just the overall theming. Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster The new version of the ride will have G-Force Records being taken over by Scooter’s uncle, J.P. Grosse. Electric Mayhem is lined up to headline a huge Hollywood concert, but they’re getting so into their jam session in the studio that Scooter has to convince them to get to the stage on time. We’re expecting a race through iconic Hollywood locations to help make that happen, along with some killer tunes by Electric Mayhem! 6. Disney World just dropped a TON of discounts that can help you save on your summer 2026 trip, but the deals are still rolling in! Tinker Bell Ticket Design In addition to exclusive discounts for Annual Passholders and Florida Residents, anyone can save up to 30% on hotel stays, too — in addition to getting two free hotel nights and park tickets. But that’s not all, because Disney just dropped an exclusive park ticket deal for Florida Residents, and we think you’re going to want to pay attention to this one! Disney World just dropped a NEW Florida Resident 2-day, 2-park ticket deal that allows Florida Residents to get access to certain parks for just $95 per day! This deal is currently only valid on tickets to Animal Kingdom and EPCOT, meaning you won’t be able to visit Magic Kingdom or Hollywood Studios with this ticket package. EPCOT The tickets cost $190 plus tax and can be used from January 12th to April 18th — perfect for an early 2026 trip to Disney World! They can also be used consecutively or nonconsecutively, giving you a little more flexibility depending on when you’re able to visit within the valid dates. Keep in mind that Park Pass Reservations will be required for these tickets, so don’t forget to make those before you head to the parks! Disney’s Animal Kingdom There are some important details you need to be aware of, which you can check out below: Tickets are valid for use from January 12th to April 18th, 2026, with an advance park reservation. To enter a theme park, both a park reservation and a valid ticket are required. Before purchasing this ticket, check that reservations are available for this ticket for the date(s) and park(s) you would like to visit. View reservation availability. Reservations are limited and subject to the reservation availability allocated to this ticket, as determined by Disney, and park capacity. Reservation availability is not guaranteed for any date. Reservations may be unavailable for any particular date or park, especially as you get closer to the date of visit or the ticket expiration date. For any given date, other admission types may be available for purchase, and reservations may be available for other admission types even though reservations for this ticket are fully reserved. For Florida resident tickets, all adults will need to show proof of Florida residency at the park entrance. Admission is subject to capacity closures and other restrictions. 7. Part of our job is scouring the internet for some of the new Disney finds, the best Disney finds, and everything in between. That just so happens to include the most EXPENSIVE Disney finds. ©Amazon Now, we’ve seen some pretty wildly expensive items inside the Disney World parks, especially EPCOT, since in World Showcase, you can find items from all over the world. But what if we told you there was a nearly $600 Disney item on Amazon? It’s true, even though we couldn’t believe it ourselves at first, but then we really took a closer look, and it all made sense. DISCLOSURE: This post may contain affiliate links, meaning when you click the links and make a purchase, we receive a commission. Cinderella’s Engagement Ring Could Be Yours ©Amazon This is not a drill, people! You can grab the Jewelili Enchanted Disney Fine Jewelry 10K White and Yellow Gold with 3/8 CTTW Diamonds Cinderella Bridal Ring on AMAZON of all places. It’ll cost you just under $600, which is MUCH cheaper than other engagement and wedding rings out there, or it’s a great gift for holidays, birthdays, anniversaries, and more. What makes it Cinderella themed, you may ask? Take a look at the underside of the ring! ©Amazon The ring itself is silver with a gorgeous circular design made with tiny diamonds on the top, but right underneath, you’ll find a gold piece that looks just like the underside of Cinderella’s carriage. It’s a wonderful small detail, because while it does make it Disney-themed, it’s not overly so. ©Amazon Truly, it’s a beautiful design, great for many occasions, but it’s easily the most expensive Disney item we’ve found on Amazon in recent months (and that’s saying something — we’ve seen some EXPENSIVE pieces). Want to grab it for yourself? Check out the link below! VIEW ON AMAZON We’ll continue to be on the lookout for all the latest and greatest Disney finds online and in the parks, so stay tuned to DFB! It’s a lighter pink on the bottle itself as well as the handle, then a darker pink for the logo, the top band, and the lid. Grab it here! If You Love Darker Colors ©Amazon If you’re more into darker, muted colors, you won’t want to miss the Foggy Tide Owala Freesip Sway! This one is mainly black with a dark gray top and small teal blue accents. The color scheme really does remind us of the ocean, so the name is a perfect fit. This one is especially great for people who don’t enjoy bringing a lot of attention to themselves. Grab it here! Love Clean and Simple? ©Amazon Now, if you’re someone who has immense luck and doesn’t get things dirty easily, the Iced Breeze Owala FreeSip Sway is right up your alley. Fantastic For Road Trips ©Amazon For those who prefer smaller tumblers, especially for traveling, the new Strawberry Fields Owala SmoothSip Slider Insulated Stainless Steel Coffee Tumbler is a great choice. 10. We have a lot of favorite snacks in Disney World, and yes, we talk about them ALL the time. We’ll always order up a DOLE Whip when we need a refreshing cold treat. We’ll never turn down Totchos in Disney’s Hollywood Studios. We’ll also never pass by the Spring Roll Cart in Magic Kingdom without getting our beloved Pepperoni Spring Rolls. Pizza Planet Spring Rolls Well, some NEW spring rolls have arrived in Hollywood Studios, and we had to see how they stack up to the spring rolls in Magic Kingdom. So we headed on over to Toy Story Land to the new Popcorn and Snacks stand to try out these new spring rolls and see how they compare! We’ve already shared our excitement about the grand opening of the new Popcorn and Snacks stand in Toy Story Land (we’ve been following the construction of this new snack spot for a while!). Imagine our surprise when we found Pizza Planet Spring Rolls on the menu for $9.49. So, OF COURSE we grabbed them. But how do they compare to the Pepperoni Pizza Spring Rolls in Magic Kingdom? The spring rolls! Well…we’re pretty sure these are the EXACT SAME SPRING ROLLS. They look the same, and they taste the same. Here are the Magic Kingdom Spring Rolls for comparison: Pepperoni Spring Rolls in Magic Kingdom We will say that the Pizza Planet Spring Rolls are a little less greasy than the last ones we had in Magic Kingdom. Like that’s it. You get the big round pepperonis stuffed in there, just like the ones in Magic Kingdom. Now, you will find plenty of mozzarella cheese in these rolls, along with some Italian spices and garlic, but the pepperoni is the star here. And all of it is wrapped in a wafer-thin crispy spring roll wrapper. A look inside But wait, there is ONE big difference. The marinara sauce that comes with these is the Red Gold marinara sauce. This sauce is runny and not as good as the sauce you get in Magic Kingdom. We also like the cups in Magic Kingdom better because it makes for easier dipping. We prefer the sauce in Magic Kingdom Overall, though, now you don’t have to go to Magic Kingdom to get the Pepperoni Pizza Roll snacks. But we’ll still say we prefer the Cheeseburger Spring Rolls in Magic Kingdom. Maybe we’ll get some additional flavors in Toy Story Land eventually. So yep, that’s how we feel about the new Spring Rolls, so you might want to head on over to Hollywood Studios to try them for yourself. And stay tuned to DFB for more Disney food reviews. 11. A Disney World vacation is carefully planned, and you want to ensure you make the most of your time and money. Between park reservations, dining plans, and Lightning Lane strategies, the last thing you want to do is spend valuable vacation time sitting in traffic on the way to a grocery store. Get snacks and drinks delivered! While grocery delivery has long been a popular option for Disney travelers, changes in the Central Florida market mean it’s time to rethink the go-to choice. With Kroger Delivery ending service in Central Florida as of February 1, 2026, Amazon Fresh is quickly becoming the easiest, most reliable way to stock your hotel room without ever leaving the magic. Here’s why Ubering to the grocery store is one Disney mistake you can confidently skip, and why Amazon Fresh is the better option. DISCLOSURE: This post may contain affiliate links, meaning when you click the links and make a purchase, we receive a commission. Reason #1: Ubering to the Grocery Store Wastes Vacation Time Time is one of the most expensive parts of a Disney World vacation. Ordering an Uber, riding off property, navigating a crowded grocery store, waiting in checkout lines, waiting on a new Uber, and then hauling bags back to your hotel can easily eat up one to two hours of your day. Amazon Fresh allows you to place an order in just minutes, whether you’re at home before your trip or relaxing by the pool after arrival. Instead of running errands, you can spend that time enjoying your resort, heading to the parks, or simply resting after a long travel day. Amazon Fresh Learn More Amazon Fresh HERE Reason #2: Amazon Fresh Delivers Directly to Your Disney Resort One of the biggest advantages of Amazon Fresh is its seamless integration with Disney World resorts. Grocery orders are delivered directly to Bell Services, where Cast Members store cold and frozen items properly until you’re ready to pick them up. This process works at Value, Moderate, and Deluxe resorts, and you don’t need to be present at the time of delivery, unless you are ordering alcohol. When it’s convenient for you, simply stop by Bell Services to retrieve your order, and no rushing back to the hotel or waiting around for a delivery driver. Pop Century Resort Reason #3: Amazon Fresh Is Often Cheaper Than Uber + Groceries Many guests assume delivery costs more, but when you break it down, Amazon Fresh is often the more budget-friendly choice. Amazon Fresh delivery pricing: $9.95 on orders under $50 $6.95 on orders over $50 FREE delivery on orders over $100 When you compare that to the cost of an Uber ride (plus tip) both ways, delivery quickly becomes the better value. Amazon Fresh also offers excellent pricing on Amazon Basics and Amazon Grocery brand items, like a $2.77 gallon of milk, which is hard to beat even in-store. For families or longer stays, these savings can add up fast. ©Amazon Learn More About Amazon Fresh HERE Reason #4: You Can Order Everything You Need in One Place Amazon Fresh isn’t just for pantry staples. You can order nearly everything you might need for your Disney vacation in a single delivery. Available items include: Fresh produce and cut fruit Cheese and cracker platters Yogurt, breakfast foods, and snacks Bottled water and drinks Diapers, wipes, sunscreen, and other essentials Instead of making multiple stops or realizing you forgot something after returning to your hotel, Amazon Fresh lets you handle it all in one order. Grand Floridian Resort Reason #5: You Stay in Vacation Mode the Entire Time Perhaps the biggest benefit of using Amazon Fresh is peace of mind. There’s no leaving Disney property, no traffic, and no navigating unfamiliar stores. Your groceries arrive while you’re enjoying your vacation, not interrupting it. For parents, planners, and anyone trying to minimize stress, this means fewer logistics and more time focused on what really matters: making memories at Disney World. Bay Lake Tower How to Use Amazon Fresh at Disney World Using Amazon Fresh is simple, even if you’ve never tried it before. Open the Amazon app and select Amazon Fresh. Add your items to the cart. Choose same-day delivery or schedule a delivery window up to three days in advance. Enter your Disney resort address. This can be found online or in your MyDisney Experience app. Add delivery instructions, noting Bell Services. Pick up your groceries when it’s convenient for you. Many guests choose to schedule delivery for their arrival day so groceries are waiting when they check in. More Details Amazon Fresh HERE ©Amazon Amazon Fresh is quickly becoming the best grocery delivery option for Disney World vacations. It’s affordable, flexible, and designed to keep you on property and in vacation mode, from start to finish. 12. Could you really go all the way to a Disney park in JAPAN for cheaper than going to Disney World? Let’s find out. Fantasy Springs Arendelle castle in Tokyo Disney Sea If you’ve been feeling like Disney World is getting expensive, you’d be right. But recently, the idea began circulating online that you could actually take a trip to Tokyo Disney Resort instead of Disney World…and SAVE money in the process. I’m here to do the math and see if it’s true! For this scenario, I’m going to run the prices on a family of four living in the Atlanta area (so they can use the ATL airport!) and see which option could be more affordable. Our fictional family is made up of two adults and two children, ages 4 and 8. They’ll travel in September 2026 — let’s break it down! Flights Using Google Flights to estimate the cost of travel, let’s look at flight dates with a departure of Sunday, September 20th, and a return date of Saturday, September 26th. Flying from ATL to MCO (the Orlando International Airport) seems to cost around $1200 for a family of four booking with Delta, United, or Southwest Airlines. Southwest at MCO The same dates of travel would be about $4500 to fly to Haneda Airport (HND) in Tokyo. Now, if you were planning the same trip in February or March, you could get flights as low as $3300 (when purchasing in early January). Hotel If you’re booking a room-only reservation, you can only see a few months out on the Tokyo Disney Resort website. Pricing out their hotels for a week in April, the most expensive option is the rooms at Tokyo DisneySea Fantasy Springs Hotel — there, prices start at $1908 per night. The Tokyo Disneyland Hotel has a more moderate price of around $450 per night, while you could stay at the Toy Story Hotel for as low as $280 per night. The cheapest option of the bunch is the Celebration Hotel for about $174 per night. Entering Fantasy Springs from Fantasy Springs Hotel For those same April dates in Disney World, the cheapest option is All-Star Sports Resort for about $180 per night. A mid-range choice would be Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort for $330 per night or Old Key West Resort for $588. The most expensive option during that time is the Villas at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, which are priced around $1200 per night. Park Tickets For Tokyo Disney, ticket purchases only show on the website a couple of months or weeks in advance (an even smaller window than the hotel rooms). For prices in February 2026, an adult ticket averages around $57 per person for a single-park visit. Child single-park tickets are about $47 each. But if our family of four wanted to do multiple parks, they could get a 1-day Park Hopper ticket for all four of them for about $310 total. Peter Pan’s Never Land Adventure In February 2026, in Disney World, single-day, single-park tickets range from about $174 to $199 per adult. For the same family to get single-day Park Hopper tickets would total to a whopping $1114. That’s a HUGE difference! Transportation When visiting Tokyo Disney Resort and traveling from the airport, the most common method of travel is the Airport Limousine Bus, which offers transportation to various locations around the city (including Tokyo Disney hotels!) for about $20 per person. For a slightly cheaper option, you could take public transportation, but you’d need to navigate it yourself. Once you’re on the property, you do have to pay a small fee to ride the Tokyo Disney Monorail. You can buy a single-day or multi-day pass to the Monorail for around $5-$10 per person. Inside a Mears Connect Bus Getting to Disney World from the airport can be complicated! One of the most common methods here is the Mears Connect shuttle, which could be about $150 for a family of four round-trip. You could also opt to take an Uber or Lyft, though pricing varies greatly depending on your travel dates and flight times. Thankfully, in Disney World, transportation around the property is free, unless you want to pay to use a rideshare (like the super fun Minnie Vans!). Food Budget Looking at quick service food prices to compare Tokyo Disney to Disney World, you’ll probably be saving some cash on food when you travel internationally! Tokyo Disney quick service meals mostly come in under $10, ranging from $7-$9. One of the most expensive options was $12. Our spread In Disney World, you’d be lucky for a quick service meal for an adult to START at $12. Most meals there nowadays range from $12-$16 per person, with some getting as high as $17 or $18 if it’s a plate with a lot of meat. Souvenirs Finally, we’ve got to chat about souvenirs! Tokyo Disney has some souvenir prices listed online. You could get a sweatshirt at the resort for around $25 or a pair of Minnie ears for about $10. Mickey ear winter hats are about $20 each, while a tote bag would be $26. Fantasy Springs gifts Compare that to Disney World, and there’s a BIG difference. Sweatshirts here often run close to $80 each, with t-shirts ringing up at $30 for adult styles. Minnie ears are currently $35-ish, depending on the pair. Hats run about $25, and bags could vary greatly, but the cheapest ones could be as low as $20. What Did We Learn? With all those prices in mind, it seems that the most important step to planning an affordable trip to Tokyo is to get flights on the CHEAP. That would be the make-or-break moment! If you could score last-minute flights with an incredible deal or find a more budget-friendly airline, you could theoretically do Tokyo Disney Resort for cheaper than Disney World. Orlando International Airport Keep in mind that Disney World may also be more expensive because it technically has more to offer than Tokyo Disney Resort, size-wise. Disney World has four parks and two water parks, as well as dozens of hotels. If all those options are important to you, then the price could be worth it. Hollywood Studios But with any vacation, the key to going cheaper is to look at all the options, set a budget ahead of time, and STICK to it! 15. Planning a Disney World trip in 2026 looks very different from what it did just a few years ago. Between ongoing construction, rising costs, and an increasingly tech-driven park experience, planning your Disney trip can become complicated. Big Thunder Mountain Railroad As someone with several Disney World trips already on the calendar for next year, I’ve been rethinking which extras actually improve my time in the parks and which ones don’t. Lightning Lane is often treated as a must-buy, but for many 2026 vacations, that assumption deserves a second look. The more I map out my upcoming trips, the clearer it becomes that skipping Lightning Lane can actually be beneficial. That doesn’t mean it has no value at all, but it does mean it isn’t always the best fit. Here are the reasons why I’m choosing to skip purchasing Lightning Lane for my Disney World trips in 2026 and why you might as well. Animal Kingdom: The Weakest Case for Multi Pass If you’re considering the Lightning Lane Multi Pass at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, it’s worth pausing before buying. With fewer Lightning Lane attractions than other parks and DinoLand closed, the overall lineup is smaller than in past years. Many of the park’s headliners, like Kilimanjaro Safaris and Expedition Everest, can be best tackled at rope drop, making paid line-skipping unnecessary. In fact, it’s very realistic to experience nearly everything Animal Kingdom has to offer in a single day without Multi Pass. For 2026, this park is a prime example of where Lightning Lane adds minimal value. Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lightning Lane Turns Disney Days Into Phone Days One of the biggest downsides to Multi Pass is how phone-centered it can make your day. Between monitoring return windows, refreshing availability, and booking new selections, you can end up glued to your phone on the MyDisney Experience app instead of enjoying the parks. If your goal is a more relaxed and casual Disney World experience, skipping Lightning Lane allows you to be present. You can focus on exploring, snacking, and wandering without feeling tied to a screen. For repeat visitors, especially, the trade-off often isn’t worth the convenience. Slinky Dog Dash Lightning Lane Multi Pass vs. Food-Focused Trips Don’t Always Mix Disney trips aren’t just about rides. Many visitors, including myself, plan their days around food, festivals, and dining reservations. Multi Pass can interfere with that kind of itinerary, as return windows can conflict with meals or festival booth stops around World Showcase. If you want to enjoy multiple table-service restaurants in a single day or take your time sampling festival foods, Multi Pass can actually make your schedule more stressful. Skipping it allows you to focus on a food-first, flexible approach that aligns perfectly with how many guests like to experience the parks. Trader Sam’s Tiki Terrace The Cost Adds Up In 2025, Multi Pass pricing climbed as high as $45 per person per day at Magic Kingdom, and for families or larger groups, that can add up quickly. By skipping Lightning Lane, you can save hundreds of dollars and redirect that budget toward table-service meals, special treats, or souvenirs. Combined with early alarms and rope drop strategies, skipping paid line-skipping can actually be a smart money move without sacrificing experiences. Hollywood Studios Longer Trips Don’t Need Lightning Lane as Much Lightning Lane can be most beneficial for short, one-day park visits, but longer trips give you the flexibility to spread attractions out naturally. In 2026, with several rides closed or down for refurbishment, attraction wish lists are smaller than in previous years. Spending multiple days at each park means you can accomplish most of your must-do attractions without purchasing Lightning Lane, allowing for a more relaxed and unhurried experience. Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith Ultimately, whether Lightning Lane makes sense in 2026 depends on how you want to experience Disney World. Staying informed is the key to making the best choice for your trip. For more planning tips, food news, and strategy updates, be sure to keep following along with DFB. It’s technically two different sweatshirts that are meant to be worn together, and the design is adorable. Minnie’s on a white sweatshirt, blushing, while Mickey’s on a cream one, blowing kisses. The floating red hearts connecting the two make it extra cute without being over the top. The arched Disneyland text with “est. 1955” and California underneath gives it that classic Disney vibe. Perfect for Valentine’s Day, anniversaries, or honestly any trip where you’re coordinating outfits. View on SALE Disney Cinderella Gus Gus In My Snacking Era Pullover Hoodie ©Amazon Gus Gus fans, this one’s for you. The black pullover hoodie features Gus Gus looking very pleased with himself, surrounded by cheese, sparkles, and snack energy. The “IN MY SNACKING ERA” text is written in that wavy retro font with pink, blue, and orange colors that pop well against the black. It feels trendy, cozy, and extremely relatable if your park strategy revolves around snacks. View on SALE Disney Minnie Mouse Daisy Duck Girls Crewneck Sweatshirt ©Amazon This one’s technically for kids, but let’s be real, the design is so cute. It has ribbed cuffs and a hem that make it comfy and warm for cooler days. If you’re planning a Disney trip with a little one, this is such a fun addition. View on SALE Disney Villains Scar Jafar Hades Hook Team Sweatshirt ©Amazon Villains fans are going to love this. It feels edgy in the best way and is perfect if you’re more Team Villains than Team Princess. View on SALE Magical Crewneck Sweatshirt ©Amazon This sweatshirt is basically a love letter to Disney snacks. Front and center, you’ve got popcorn, a Mickey ice cream bar, a Mickey cookie, a pink Starbucks-style drink, park tickets, and balloons. 21. We know we’re not the only folks who stand in that long line at Starbucks at Main Street Bakery in Magic Kingdom every morning waiting for our caffeine fix. It seems like a lot of Disney World visitors gotta’ have that Starbucks first thing in the morning. New Starbucks drinks! Now, we also know we’re not the only folks who get excited when a new drink menu drops at Starbucks, and now that it’s a New Year, we’re standing in line to try two new Starbucks drinks, and let’s just say one was a hit, and the other was a miss. But which was which? Let’s chat! Okay, let’s start with the Iced Dubai Chocolate Matcha for $6.75. Yes, Starbucks has jumped on the Dubai Chocolate trend with this matcha drink made with pistachio sauce, milk, and chocolate cream cold foam. But we have to give Starbucks some credit: this drink does the trend justice. It’s a very creamy drink with a more subtle matcha flavor. Iced Dubai Chocolate Matcha This drink has a nice creamy sweetness, and even as it melts, it gets even better. Although our reporter isn’t a big matcha fan, she admitted she might end up ordering this one again. Pro tip: the chocolate is only on top and a lot of it ends up on the lid, so you’ll want to kinda’ scrape some of that off the lid and into the drink. Chocolate on top However, the second drink failed to impress us. The Caramel Protein Latte is a protein-boosted latte with espresso and caramel syrup for $7.45. Honestly, it’s just like they dumped some protein powder in there and called it a day because it’s got that chalky protein powder texture going on. Caramel Protein Latte The coffee flavor is the strongest thing you get here, though, and we honestly thought it could use more caramel. So if you’re more of a flavored coffee fan than a coffee fan, this could be a disappointment. When this one melts, it just gets watered down and tastes like a regular latte at times. So, yep, we weren’t super impressed, but hey, it is a good way to get some extra protein in your diet, we guess? We’ll keep trying more new foods in Disney World, so be sure to keep following along for more reviews. 24. I spoke to an Academy Award-nominated filmmaker about her upcoming Disneyland documentary, and she revealed some BIG details about the new film coming to the Disney+ streaming service! ©Disney Disneyland Handcrafted is a brand-new documentary focused on the creation of Disneyland, featuring rarely seen footage from the Disney Archives. Coming to Disney+ and Disney YouTube on January 22nd, 2026, this documentary is helmed by Leslie Iwerks — an award-winning director and producer who comes from a long lineage of Disney icons. We were afforded the opportunity to speak with her, and she shed some insight on the film, Disneyland history, Walt himself, and the filmmaking process! To say Leslie Iwerks is accomplished is an understatement. Iwerks is an Oscar and Emmy-nominated filmmaker, with several credits under her belt that largely relate to the documentary genre. The daughter of Don Iwerks (a Disney camera technician and notable inventor/overseer of the Studio Machine Shop and the Camera Service Department) and the granddaughter of Disney Legend Ub Iwerks (Walt Disney’s original animator and the designer and co-creator of Mickey Mouse), Leslie has turned her talents to showcasing the chaotic creation of Disneyland back in 1955 through video and images that were once tucked away in the Archives. ©Deadline Having grown up around such rich Disney history, it’s no wonder that Iwerks found her filmmaking path leading back to Disneyland. She started her career in 1999 by sharing her grandfather’s story with The Hand Behind the Mouse: The Ub Iwerks Story, and has revisited Disney history with The Pixar Story and The Imagineering Story. The Imagineering Story ©Disney While putting together Disneyland Handcrafted, Iwerks went through over 100 hours of raw material depicting Disneyland’s earliest days and discovered fascinating outtakes that hadn’t been shown to the public, as they were sitting away in the Walt Disney Film Archives. Iwerks and her team were able to produce high-resolution scans of every reel and restore the content for this innovative documentary. I spoke with Iwerks about her film and what viewers can expect, and she gave some very thoughtful responses. When asked about the early stages of filmmaking and what draws her to a story (like the history of Disneyland), Iwerks said, “It’s really a matter of what interests me and what feels like is going to be a compelling story and actually has drama to it — an emotional journey I can take the audience on. There are some enlightening moments, and there are some lessons to be learned, and — hopefully — a tear or two.” ©Disney I asked her if there were any surprises she discovered when doing research for the film. Iwerks laughed and said, “Yeah, how they actually did it in one year!” — referencing the hectic completion of Disneyland. “How this whole thing happened in one year is mind-boggling to me, and then to watch the footage as it unfolds over the course of the year and see how unfinished it was still leading up to opening day…The pressure must have been enormous on everybody.” When Disneyland opened on July 17th, 1955, it had been barely completed, but with some major budgetary sacrifices, non-functional drinking fountains, counterfeit tickets, ride breakdowns, and even melting asphalt. Walt and his team faced massive stress to get the park done so quickly, and it wasn’t perfect when it did open — but it’s come so far since then and continues to grow as Walt’s promise of Disneyland never truly being completed lives on. ©D23 Iwerks teased lots of emotional moments in Disneyland Handcrafted, saying, “I don’t know if there’s any other story of construction that you’ll have a bigger fanbase for. Because Disneyland has such a big fanbase, I think this will give people renewed appreciation for how it was built, why it was built, the passion behind it, and the risk that it took to get it done.” ©Disney When asked about some footage she’s really excited for people to see, Iwerks brought up the gags. “They just had funny ways of having fun with this construction footage. Just a lot of cute things that I think they thought would be fun for the ABC television show.” Iwerks added that it works as a time capsule that takes you back to 1954 Anaheim that provides an honest look at life back then that should invoke nostalgia. ©Disney Considering the level of pressure Walt underwent during the construction of a project he cared so deeply about, I asked Iwerks about how her film will tackle capturing Walt’s emotions through it all. Iwerks said, “We are able to find some soundbites directly from Walt that explain his point of view and what he was thinking at that time. The majority of the audio bites are from people he was surrounded by that can speak about him.” The film provides “an outside-in point of view about Walt, but also Walt himself, almost explaining his own point of view as a counter to what they’re saying.” ©Disney Seeing Walt in the footage was a real treat for Iwerks and her team. “What I think is nice about this is that he is promoting the film on ABC as a showman, and he’s excited, but once you cut from that, you’re in the dirt and you’re in the pressure and it’s real life. It’s this counterbalance between show and reality that makes this film unique.” ©Disney As a reminder, Disneyland Handcrafted will debut on Disney+ and Disney YouTube on January 22nd, and is — per Disney — “a feature documentary that details the legacy, passion, and nostalgia in the year leading up to the creation of Disneyland. [The film] will detail the ultimate story of risk and capture the excitement of Disneyland as it was being built more than 70 years ago. With a chance to peek behind the orange groves and experience the making of the park like never before, this documentary will take you back in time to visit the Disneyland of yesteryear and provide a look at the dedication, expertise, and focus that was required to turn a dream into reality.” As Disney and Disneyland fanatics, we CAN’T WAIT to watch Disneyland Handcrafted and dive into the impressive story of “The Happiest Place On Earth”! Showcasing Walt’s original theme park, this film is sure to give Disney fans of all ages a unique look at the hard work and dedication it took to bring this incredible concept to life. 25. It’s going to be easier than ever to stay on-site at a Disney Resort, thanks to Disney’s ever-growing hotel scene! Lakeshore Lodge Concept Art ©Disney That’s right — over the next few years, Disney has CONFIRMED that it’s bringing us several brand-new hotels to its theme park resorts! From a new rustic, yet elegant lodging option at Disney World to immersive, story-driven stays in Shanghai, here’s everything we know so far about new Disney hotels in development! As of this writing, we know that Disney is in the process of opening three new hotels. These projects are in various stages of construction and planning. Once done, however, these hotels are set to make significant shockwaves that elevate your Disney stay. Disney Lakeshore Lodge — Disney World Resort Starting stateside in Disney World, Disney Lakeshore Lodge is currently making significant progress alongside Bay Lake and will be Disney World’s newest resort hotel. ©Disney Lakeshore Lodge will be a nature-inspired Disney Vacation Club (DVC) and Deluxe Resort that reflects the beauty of the outdoors with Disney storytelling heavily thrown into its design. A closer look We’re talking rustic themes, waterfront restaurants, art featuring crossovers of nature and Disney, serene pools, upscale amenities, and more than 900 rooms and villas. via @bioreconstruct on X/Twitter This will be one of the largest hotel openings at Disney World in years, expanding hotel capacity tremendously while providing a whole new type of luxurious lodging in the process. ©Disney Slated to open in 2027, it’ll offer a unique experience while still providing that famous Disney charm and first-class service. Two new hotels are coming to Shanghai Disney A lot’s happening at Shanghai Disney Resort right now as it builds TWO new hotels! Already home to Shanghai Disneyland Hotel and Toy Story Hotel, the resort is currently building a third hotel, which will be a nine-story deluxe hotel with roughly 400 rooms on the south shore of Wishing Star Lake and inspired by Shanghai’s architectural legacy. Decorated in an Art Nouveau style, the hotel’s guiding principle is “authentically Disney and distinctly Chinese.” An opening date has yet to be announced, but progress is moving swiftly. Shanghai Disneyland Hotel ©Shanghai Disney Resort Additionally, the resort is building a fourth themed hotel close to the Shanghai Disneyland Park’s main entrance. We’re still learning a lot about this new hotel, but it’s been teased that it will welcome guests into a “premium destination infused with Disney stories and imagination.” Featuring “unprecedented immersive storytelling experiences in a way that Disney uniquely brings to life,” this hotel will be integrated into an expanded Disneytown development that offers brand-new dining, shopping, and entertainment options. This project was recently announced, so we don’t anticipate it opening until 2027 or later. ©Shanghai Disney Resort Disney never stops, and we’ll never stop keeping up with all the latest Disney Resort developments worldwide — so keep it posted right here at DFB to stay in the know and get the most up-to-date news!
