Planning a Disney World trip means juggling a lot of factors, but timing can make or break your experience. Disney World Entrance While Disney World is generally busy, certain dates attract even larger crowds, resulting in longer wait times and increased chaos that can turn a magical vacation into a stressful one. Whether it’s major events, park closures, or holiday rushes, certain days in 2026 are going to be tougher than others. To help you plan smarter and avoid the biggest headaches, we’ve rounded up eight specific dates when you might want to reconsider your travel plans or at least brace yourself for what’s coming. DinoLand U.S.A. Closes for Good (February 2nd, 2026) February 2nd marks the official closure of DinoLand U.S.A. at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, and while this isn’t a special event that brings in outside crowds, it does change the park’s dynamics in a big way. When an entire land disappears, all those guests who would normally spread out across DinoLand’s attractions and pathways get funneled into the remaining areas of the park. Construction That redistribution means longer waits for popular rides like Expedition Everest, Kilimanjaro Safaris, and Flight of Passage. Plus, as construction begins on whatever’s coming next, you’ll likely encounter walls, rerouted walkways, and fewer quiet spots to escape the crowds. February already has unpredictable crowd patterns due to various events and holidays, so losing a whole section of the park only intensifies the congestion. The transformation will be worth it eventually, but the transition period could make for a more cramped experience overall. Disney Princess Half Marathon Weekend (February 26th – March 2nd, 2026) This runDisney event is a favorite among families and friend groups who love the themed race experience, and it brings in some serious crowds. The races happen early in the morning, which means road closures around EPCOT, Magic Kingdom, and the surrounding resort areas. If you’re not running, getting around can be tricky. ©runDisney Your best bet is to rely on Disney’s bus system or give yourself way more driving time than you think you’ll need. The sparkly costumes are fun to see, but the traffic jams are less charming. Springtime Surprise Weekend (April 16th – 19th, 2026) Springtime Surprise is still relatively new to the runDisney calendar, but it’s already drawing big crowds. Each year features different themed races, which keeps things fresh and brings in a steady stream of participants. That also means fresh road closures and increased congestion around the resorts. ©runDisney If you’re visiting during this weekend and you’re not part of the race festivities, expect some delays getting to and from the parks. Disney Wine & Dine Half Marathon (October 22nd – October 25th, 2026) This race weekend lands right in the middle of EPCOT’s International Food and Wine Festival, which is already one of the busiest times at the park. You’re dealing with a double dose of crowds here: runners causing road closures and food lovers heading to EPCOT for the festival. The combination almost guarantees traffic jams near EPCOT’s parking entrance. ©runDisney If you’re visiting during Wine & Dine weekend, prepare for some serious delays if you’re driving. runDisney: Disney Races and Events Schedule Cheerleading Worlds & Junior World Cheerleading Championships (April 22nd – April 27th, 2026) Late April brings a completely different type of crowd to Disney World. Thousands of competitive cheerleaders and their families arrive for these major championships at ESPN Wide World of Sports. The impact isn’t limited to the sports complex, though. Because many teams stay at the All-Star Resorts, the entire area around Animal Kingdom can feel noticeably more crowded. ©The Cheerleading Worlds Resort buses get packed, hotel parking lots fill up fast, and the main roads around the sports complex can turn into a gridlock situation. If you’re planning a late April trip, just know that you’ll be sharing the roads with a lot of extra vehicles. The Summit Championship (April 30th – May 3rd, 2026) Just when you thought April was done throwing crowds at you, the Summit Championship arrives. This is another major cheerleading competition at ESPN Wide World of Sports, and it brings the same kind of traffic challenges as Cheerleading Worlds. Buses and family cars will be constantly moving between competition venues and hotels, especially around the Value Resorts. ©Varsity Spirit LLC If you’re driving this weekend, factor in extra time and maybe some extra patience. The D2 Summit (May 8th – May 10th, 2026) The cheerleading season wraps up with the D2 Summit, which happens just days after the Summit Championship. While this event is slightly smaller, it still draws plenty of teams and supporters. Parking at ESPN Wide World of Sports will be full, and the All-Star Resorts will still have that competition weekend energy. ©Varsity Spirit LLC If you’re planning a quick Disney getaway during this time, don’t count on your car getting you to the parks quickly. Holiday Weekends Finally, don’t forget about the big holidays. Easter, Memorial Day, Fourth of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year’s are all peak times at Disney World. The parks are packed, and the roads leading to them are often jammed with visitors trying to check into their hotels or make it to rope drop. Even if you’re a local just stopping by for the day, holiday traffic can eat up a huge chunk of your time. If sitting in a long line of brake lights sounds miserable, you might want to plan your trip around these weekends. Fourth of July Disney World is busy year-round, but these eight dates in 2026 are when visiting could become especially challenging. Knowing what to expect can help you decide whether to reschedule your trip or at least prepare yourself mentally for what’s ahead. Our best advice is simple: if these dates are your only option, go in with realistic expectations, plan your park strategy carefully, and maybe build in some resort relaxation time to balance out the chaos. Your park bag is basically your survival kit at Disney World. Reusable utensils It’s got everything you need for a full day of magic, but let’s be honest, packing the wrong stuff (or forgetting key items) can totally mess up your day. We’ve spent countless hours testing products to figure out what’s actually worth throwing in your bag. These seven items? They’ve earned their spot through real-world Disney testing, and we’re excited to share them with you! DISCLOSURE: This post may contain affiliate links, meaning when you click the links and make a purchase, we receive a commission. Frogg Toggs Poncho Frogg Togg Poncho Let’s talk about Florida rain for a second. One minute it’s sunny, the next you’re drenched and miserable. We’ve spent way too many Disney days in wet clothes (not fun) or wasting time hiding from the rain (also not fun). That’s why we’re obsessed with the Frogg Toggs Poncho. This isn’t just any rain poncho. The material is incredible, and water literally beads right off it. Plus, it comes with its own little storage pouch, so when the rain stops, you just fold it back up and toss it in your bag. We’ve had ours for years no,w and they’re still going strong. It’s the kind of purchase you make once and use forever. Shop on Amazon FuelRod MAX10 FuelRod MAX10 Listen, we’ve been through so many portable chargers trying to find the perfect one for Disney days. Regular FuelRods are convenient since you can swap them at kiosks throughout the parks, but they never quite have enough juice for our longest days. Then we discovered the MAX10 version. This thing keeps our phones alive all day long, even when we’re constantly taking photos, checking wait times, and filming videos. And you still get that awesome swap feature when you need a fresh charge. Yeah, it costs more upfront, but the extra battery life is 100% worth it. We won’t go back to the regular version. Shop on Amazon VentaPak Lightweight Ventilation Backpack Spacer VentaPack Okay, so this little gadget costs about $45, which can feel a bit steep for a backpack accessory. But after months of testing, we’re totally sold on it. Basically, you clip it onto your backpack straps and it creates this gap between the bag and your back. That means airflow, which means way less sweat in the Florida humidity. It also redistributes weight across your back instead of pulling down on your shoulders, which has seriously helped with our end-of-day back pain. Now for the honest part: to make it work properly, you’ve got to tighten your straps more than usual. That means a snugger fit under your arms, so you might notice more armpit sweat (trade-offs, right?). It also makes the bag slightly trickier to take on and off throughout the day. But here’s the thing: when you’re lugging around water bottles, ponchos, snacks, and everyone’s souvenirs, your back will be screaming by midday without something like this. After several park days with the VentaPak, we genuinely feel less exhausted and way less gross by the time we head back to the hotel. If you deal with back issues or carry a heavy bag, this is worth every penny Shop on Amazon JISULIFE Handheld Mini Fan JISULIFE Handheld Mini Fan Not gonna lie, when we first saw this fan, we were skeptical. It’s so tiny when folded up, and it only has two little blades. How could something that small actually keep you cool? Turns out, we were totally wrong. This little powerhouse has become our constant companion on hot park days. It’s got three speed settings, folds up small enough for your pocket, AND it doubles as both a flashlight and a phone charger. Seriously, it’s like three products in one. Most portable fans are bulky and annoying to carry, but this one takes up barely any space. If Florida heat and humidity aren’t your thing, you need this in your bag. Shop on Amazon BAODINI Travel Essentials Mini Umbrella BAODINI Travel Essentials Mini Umbrella Sure, sunscreen protects your skin, but it doesn’t actually make you feel cooler when the sun is beating down on you. That’s where this umbrella comes in. It works as a regular rain umbrella, but it’s also designed to block UV rays. The difference is wild. We’re talking about an instant temperature drop of 5 to 10 degrees in the shade it creates. If handheld fans aren’t your vibe or you just overheat easily in direct sunlight, this compact umbrella is a total lifesaver. We were honestly shocked by how much cooler we felt using it on those brutal summer days. Shop on Amazon Sunseeke Silicone Straws Sunseeke Silicone Straws The simple truth is that Disney World’s paper straws are…not great. We appreciate the environmental effort, but they get soggy and fall apart so quickly. Instead of dealing with that frustration, just bring your own! These silicone straws are fantastic. They come with cute carrying cases so you can easily toss them in your bag, plus little cleaning brushes for your hotel room. Unlike hard metal straws or those collapsible ones, these are flexible but still hold their shape when you’re using them. They fold up for storage, clean super easily, and come in tons of color combos so everyone in your group can have their own. Shop on Amazon Reusable Travel Utensils Set Reusable Travel Utensils Set Quick service locations don’t always have complete utensil setups, and searching for silverware when you just want to eat is the worst. This compact utensil set solves that problem completely. It comes with a slim carrying case that fits easily in any bag, and the utensils themselves are way sturdier than those flimsy disposable ones you’ll find around the parks. They’re also super simple to rinse off discreetly. Even if you don’t think you’ll need them, they’re great to have as a backup. We love being able to just grab our snacks or meals without wondering if we’ll have the right utensil to eat them with. Shop on Amazon We’ll continue to bring you all the essentials through 2026, so stay tuned to DFB! View the full article

The arrival of the first snowfall ushered in a breathtaking start to the new year, transforming the parks in Paris and Tokyo into a shimmering winter wonderland. At Disneyland Paris, the resort’s charming streets and iconic Sleeping Beauty Castle were glistening under a fresh coat of snow, turning the park into a scene straight out of a fairy tale. But this year, the snow brought even more excitement as it fell upon the soon-to-open World of Frozen at Disney Adventure World*. While the immersive world officially opens on March 29, 2026, the sight of snow falling on the towering North Mountain offered a breathtaking preview, it’s as if Elsa herself has sprinkled a little extra magic over. When World of Frozen opens this spring, you will be able to step into the kingdom of Arendelle like never before. The immersive world will feature Frozen Ever After, a family-friendly boat ride journeying through Elsa’s Ice Palace. Visitors can also explore the charming village streets, shop for Frozen-inspired merchandise, and savor new eats at Nordic Crown Tavern. The magic of Arendelle will extend to its shimmering bay, where “A Celebration in Arendelle” will bring the Snowflower Festival to life. Presented several times a day, the show unfolds aboard three majestic Viking longships. This highly anticipated addition promises to bring the beloved story of Walt Disney Animation Studios’ Frozen to life like never before. To kick off 2026, delicate snowflakes fell on Tokyo Disney Resort. Rooftops were dusted in white, including Beast’s Castle at Enchanted Tale of Beauty and the Beast. It’s a rare and beautiful sight that adds an extra layer of charm to the resort’s already breathtaking landscapes. The snowfall brings with it a sense of celebration, as seasonal décor and festive touches come to life throughout the parks. From twinkling lights to cozy treats, winter at Tokyo Disney Resort and Disneyland Paris are a time when every corner feels like a wonderland. We are already dreaming of warming up with a cup of chocolat chaud or ホットチョコレー and taking in the stunning scenery. These first snowfalls remind us that winter at Disney parks around the world is truly something special. So bundle up, grab your camera, and take in the magic of the season. *Walt Disney Studios® Park will be transformed into Disney Adventure World on March 29, 2026 Disneyland Paris 2026 Dates and Details READ MORE Step into Disney Adventure World on March 29 READ MORE Tokyo Disney Resort Welcomes 900 Millionth Guest READ MORE The post First Snowfall at Disneyland Paris and Tokyo Disney Resort appeared first on Disney Parks Blog. After 30 years of dining at Disney World, I’ve learned that while dining reservations can absolutely enhance your trip, not every reservation is worth grabbing. Full spread from our meal at Cinderella’s Royal Table Here at DisneyFoodBlog, we know that Disney World has some incredible food. Over time, I’ve realized that the best dining plan is one that fits your priorities, your park strategy, and how you actually like to vacation. You are spending a lot of time and money on food at Disney World, so you want to enjoy it, and also you don’t regret it! Here are five types of dining reservations I’ve learned to pause before impulse booking. 1. Booking a Restaurant Just Because I Thought I Had To Some Disney restaurants can feel more like a “Must Do” than just a restaurant. Chef Mickey’s, Be Our Guest, and similar spots are often hyped up, especially for first-time visitors. And for many families, they really are magical, especially if character interactions or themed environments are high on your priority list. The Grand Ballroom in Be Our Guest Restaurant But I’ve learned that booking these restaurants just because they’re iconic can lead to disappointment if the experience doesn’t match what you value most. These meals often come with higher price tags, fixed menus, or a faster-paced atmosphere that may not feel relaxing. Tip: Before booking, ask yourself why you want the reservation. Is it the food, the atmosphere, or the photos? If it’s not checking at least one meaningful box, it might be okay to skip it this trip. Pluto at Chef Mickey’s 2. EPCOT Table Service When I Really Wanted Festival Booths EPCOT festivals are a huge hit with Disney visitors. With dozens of small plates, seasonal menus, and the freedom to snack around the World Showcase, festival booths let you try more variety without committing to a full meal. However, EPCOT also has some of the best restaurants on property. I’ve made the mistake of locking in a table-service reservation only to find myself rushing past booths I was genuinely excited to try. Table service can feel restrictive during festivals, especially when you’re already full or watching the clock. Tip: If you’re visiting EPCOT during a festival, consider skipping reservations altogether or booking just one flexible meal later in the evening. Mexico Booth at Food & Wine Festival 2025 3. Grabbing a “Hard-to-Get” Reservations There might be something thrilling about snagging a notoriously hard-to-get reservation, even if it wasn’t on your original list. I’ve done this more than once, only to sit down and realize I didn’t truly love the menu options. Restaurants like Story Book Dining at Artist Point offer incredible theming and storytelling, which can absolutely outweigh menu concerns for some guests. But food still matters, especially when you’re paying signature prices. Tip: Always read the menu first, and not just reviews. If you wouldn’t normally order those flavors or dishes, that reservation might be better left for someone who will truly enjoy it. Desserts! 4. Booking Breakfast When I Really Want to Rope Drop Disney breakfasts sound great in theory until your alarm goes off. Early park mornings are prime time for short waits and cooler temperatures, and I’ve often found myself wishing I’d skipped breakfast reservations altogether and just grabbed something quick. Breakfast dining can eat up valuable park time and add unnecessary stress to mornings that already require planning. Tip: If rope dropping is important to you, stick to quick-service breakfast, mobile ordering, or snacks you can eat on the go. Save sit-down meals for lunch or dinner when the parks are busier, and you’re ready for a break. Crystal Palace 5. Dining at Other Disney Resorts Without Easy Transportation Some of Disney’s best restaurants are located at resorts, like Boma and Sanaa, which are absolutely worth the hype. That said, if you don’t have a car, getting to certain resorts can be time-consuming and complicated, especially mid-day. I’ve learned that even amazing meals can feel less enjoyable when paired with multiple bus transfers or long travel times. Tip: If you’re relying on Disney transportation, prioritize resort dining that’s easy to access from where you’re staying or near the parks you’ll already be visiting that day. You can still head to these using Disney transportation, but be sure to build in lots of time to arrive. Dinner at Boma Disney dining can be magical, but it’s at its best when it aligns with how you want to experience your vacation. Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin just hit a new phase of refurbishment. ©Disney Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin has been closed for refurbishment for a while (and we’ve even had a sneak peek at the new ride vehicles and blasters coming to the attraction when it’s finished), but now there’s a visible sign of progress inside Magic Kingdom. Construction walls have gone up around the ride, giving us a better sense that the end of the work could be completed sooner than we expected! If you’ve been walking through Tomorrowland at Magic Kingdom recently and felt like something looked a little more…boxed in than usual, you’re not imagining things. Construction walls have officially gone up around Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin, marking a visible new phase in the attraction’s ongoing refurbishment. Construction walls Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin has been closed for a bit now as Disney works behind the scenes on updates to the ride, and while we’ve known it’s slated to reopen sometime later this year, this is the first major sign of changes you can actually see in the park. The walls now surround sections of the attraction’s exterior, signaling that work is actively underway and progressing beyond just behind-the-scenes maintenance. View from the Peoplemover For those following the construction (hello, that’s us!), this update is especially noteworthy. Space Ranger Spin is a Tomorrowland staple — a ride many guests grew up riding (and competing on, as they hoped to be recruited) — and it’s one of those attractions that quietly sees a lot of traffic day in and day out. Over the years, however, concerns have been raised about ride targets, blasters, and overall show quality, making this refurbishment highly anticipated by many who hope for smoother gameplay and refreshed effects. ©Disney While Disney hasn’t shared specific details about what’s being updated outside, the presence of construction walls usually indicates more involved work, whether that’s addressing exterior elements, queue areas, or access points connected to the attraction. It also suggests Disney is moving closer to the finish line, even if an exact reopening date hasn’t been announced yet. You can see the entrance above the construction walls If you’re planning a visit to the Magic Kingdom in the coming weeks, this is a good reminder to plan accordingly. Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin will remain unavailable for now, and the construction walls may slightly alter the flow of foot traffic through Tomorrowland. That said, Tomorrowland still has plenty to offer, and seeing active progress on a beloved attraction can be reassuring for fans eager to blast Zurg again soon. We’ll be keeping watch While we’re still waiting on an official reopening date, this update is a positive sign that Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin is on track to return soon — right now, Disney has shared that spring 2026 is when we can expect to see a new version of this ride! Until then, Space Rangers will just have to keep their laser fingers warmed up, because when the doors reopen, it’ll be time to aim for Galactic Hero once again. We’ll be updating you on every step of its progress and will be bringing you along with us on its reopening day! Be sure to stay tuned with us right here at DFB so you don’t miss a thing. Getting stuck on a Disney World ride can be annoying, but hear us out, it might just be the highlight of your trip! Dinosaur! We’ve ridden Disney World rides so many times that it’s a treat to see the ride in a completely new way. For example, getting to walk through Spaceship Earth with the lights on when it gets stuck, or Space Mountain with the lights on. Recently, a family member of someone on the DFB team got stuck on DINOSAUR and got to see the attraction with the LIGHTS ON! The agents at Small World Vacations know how to save money on your Disney Vacation! When you book your trip with Small World Vacations, their experienced agents monitor your reservation for possible future savings. They also compare discounts and figure out which one works best for your travel party, dates, resort, and touring plans. And they share expert tips and first-hand advice with you about your magical vacation. Alright, we’ll admit it, we’re crazy jealous! We’re not just jealous because we’ve never seen the ride with the lights on before, but we’re also jealous because the ride has less than a month left at the park, and we might NEVER get our chance to see it with the lights on! DINOSAUR If you ever have to evacuate an attraction at Disney World, there is usually an announcement that you aren’t allowed to take photos and videos. However, if there is no announcement made while you’re still sitting in the vehicle and the ride’s lights are on, then feel free to take a couple of pics (only if Disney doesn’t make an announcement saying you can’t). It’s pretty cool seeing a ride with the lights on! DINOSAUR with the lights on! If you’ve ever ridden DINOSAUR, you know how dark it truly gets on that ride. Some twists and turns are in pitch black almost. The father of a DFB team member got to see the hidden details in the sets, as well as more details on the dinosaurs on the ride. Look at the dino! With the attraction closing forever on February 2nd, along with the rest of DinoLand, it’s almost poetic to get to see new angles of the iconic ride before it goes. DINOSAUR will eventually become an Indiana Jones-themed attraction as part of the Tropical Americas transformation at Animal Kingdom. It’s crazy that we’re less than a month away from saying goodbye to one of the park’s staples. Although we are excited for what’s to come! It’s crazy seeing attractions with the lights on! We love sharing all the secrets and hidden details when it comes to Disney World, so make sure to stay tuned to the Disney Food Blog so you don’t miss any of it! New bao buns have arrived in Disney’s Animal Kingdom! We are suckers for fluffy bao buns filled with delicious fillings, so when we spotted a new addition to Tiffins Restaurant’s menu, we had to give them a try. New bao buns will also be coming to Nomad Lounge — although they will be different than the new ones at Tiffins. So, if you are a bao bun fanatic, check out both Tiffins and Nomad Lounge for new offerings. Tiffins Restaurant Over at Tiffins, you can grab the Pork Belly Bao Buns. Nomad Lounge will be offering Korean Barbecue Mushroom Bao Buns (although they didn’t have them quite yet when we were in Animal Kingdom last week. We grabbed a table at Tiffins Restaurant to try out the new buns, and now we are bringing you our review! You can grab the Pork Belly Bao Buns for $16. They feature Korean barbecued glazed pork belly, cucumber kimchi, and pickled green papaya. Each order comes with 2 buns. We thought these bao buns were delicious. The combination of sweet and sour flavors balances each other nicely. You get sweetness from the barbecue sauce and sourness from the cucumber kimchi and pickled green papaya. Pork Belly Bao Buns The pickled fruit and veggies, along with the cilantro, gave this dish a very fresh profile. The pork belly was tender, with a good amount of chew. Everything was packed into soft, fluffy bao buns. The various textures come together to make this taste like a very well-rounded dish. Our only complaint was that there were only two buns; we wanted more! Pork Belly Bao Buns While you are at Tiffins, we also recommend checking out Tiffins Signature Bread Service. It features Thai red curry milk bread, pão de queijo, papadam, coconut-curry sauce, guava sauce, and ginger-pear chutney. We come back to this bread service time and time again! You could even grab it alongside these new bao buns for a bit of an appetizer sampler. Sounds like a delicious time in Animal Kingdom to us! Tiffins Signature Bread Service We are looking forward to trying the new bao buns coming to Nomad Lounge soon, too! We are in the parks every single day looking out for the latest news and trying all the new foods. We want to make sure you always have the most up-to-date information for your Disney World vacation! Our favorite city (well, excluding CityWalk) just got a whole lot more convenient. Last year, downtown Orlando announced a free parking initiative that’s continuing into the new year. The Park DTO program was first launched during the COVID-19 pandemic to encourage traffic and consumers downtown. The popular freebie was relaunched in 2023 and has helped Orlando’s recent growth with over 30 new local businesses opening downtown last year. Lake Eola Drivers can get free two-hour parking at all parking spaces downtown – both metered and non-metered – 24 hours a day, every day of the week. The move is to encourage both visitors and locals to support local businesses, make downtown more accessible, and explore everything the city has to offer. Free parking isn’t new – our favorite spots like Disney Springs have free parking 24/7, and Universal CityWalk offers free parking after 6PM – but notable spots in downtown Orlando specifically charge high parking rates. The Dr Phillips Center, which we frequent for shows and concerts, charges a whopping $40 for premium parking. Downtown Orlando’s free parking initiative makes places we love more accessible to drivers. Winter Park To get free parking, you’ll need to download the ParkMobile app from the app store, then you’ll enter the code “ParkDTO” to activate the offer and input your parking space number. Only 12 free codes were given out per account last year, but this year it’s been upgraded to 16 free codes! Certain restaurants also offer complimentary valet with this offer – visit downtownorlando.com/parkdto for more info. This offer lasts until December 31st, 2026, or until the allocated funding is expended. Stay tuned to Disney Food Blog to hear if it’ll stay for 2027! Check out our favorite Orlando restaurants! EPCOT’s Festival of the Arts starts NEXT WEEK, and we couldn’t be more stoked! Festival of the Arts Disney just recently released the full menus for this festival, which already has us making a list of which options we want to try most, and we can’t wait to check out all the live entertainment and artwork that make this festival as special as it is. If you’re planning to head to the festival and want to make the most of it, these are the EIGHT essentials you can’t forget to pack! DISCLOSURE: This post may contain affiliate links, meaning when you click the links and make a purchase, we receive a commission. Never Struggle to Find Silverware Again! Reusable Travel Utensils Set There’s nothing worse than grabbing an item you’re really excited about from a festival booth, only to find that there’s no silverware available. Solve the problem in advance and grab the Reusable Travel Utensils Set! Numerous of our reporters use these on festival days, and they’ve held up extremely well. Not to mention that the case it comes in makes it VERY easy to pack away. Grab it here! Hold All Your Snacks Easily We always bring a tray! You only have two hands, but by using a Tray, that doesn’t mean you have to limit yourself to only two snacks! By grabbing yourself a tray, you can load it with snacks to take back to a table and try multiple of the items on your list at once. Or, you can share with the others at your table if you’re feeling generous (we normally just hold them all to ourselves, but you do you!). Grab it here! No More Paper Straws Silicone straw set Listen, we love that Disney is trying to be environmentally friendly by using paper straws in their parks, but let’s be honest — they’re of awful quality, and will fall apart in your mouth before you have a chance to drink your drink. Avoid that entire fiasco by grabbing yourself the Sunseeke Silicone Straws! They’re completely reusable and come with carriers to make bringing them around the parks super easy. Grab it here! Keep Yourself Cool! AMKEN Waist Fan Festival of the Arts happens during the winter, but that doesn’t mean there aren’t warm days in Epcot. Sometimes, you may find that a restaurant or ride has its heat on way too high, and you find yourself overheating even when you need a jacket outside. We personally are big fans of the AMKEN Waist Fan to keep ourselves cool! We’ve tried a lot of fans in the parks, and this one is super powerful, but doesn’t get in the way of your day. You can wear it on your waistband, you can wear it on a lanyard around your neck, or hold it in front of you — we love the versatility! Grab it here! Keep Everything Germ Free! ©Amazon No matter what time of year it is in the Disney World parks, there are germs everywhere. The same can be said for anywhere publicly, but in Disney World, everyone is touching every handrail, ride vehicle, and everything in between. At a festival, when you may be eating more than normal, you wanna make sure your hands are staying as clean as possible — we prefer to do that with Hand Sanitizer Hand Wipes! They’re easy to keep in your bag and will give you peace of mind throughout the day. Grab it here! Help Yourself Budget! Disney gift cards! One of the best ways to budget in Disney World, in general, but especially on festival days, is with Disney Gift Cards! Now, you don’t have to wait to get to the parks to buy these — you can purchase them online ahead of time, or even grab them at your local grocery stores. These are especially helpful when budgeting for souvenirs or snacks at the festival — we know that from firsthand experience! Grab it here! Hand Sanitizer That Won’t Get Your Bag Messy Touchland and Disney Special Edition Hand Sanitizer + Mist Case There are lots of hand sanitizers out there, and while one of our reporters really didn’t WANT to love the Touchland & Disney Special Edition Hand Sanitizer + Mist Case as much as she did, there’s something to say about how easy it is to clip to the outside of your bag and spray on your hands whenever you need it. Plus, it’s Disney themed! How cute is that? Grab it here! Protection Against The Sun is Always Important! Supergoop! There’s a lot of sunscreen out there on the market, and at the end of the day, having ANY sunscreen to protect yourself against the sun is better than nothing. However, we’re big fans of the Supergoop! brand! They’ve got multiple different types to fit your skin type, activity level, and more, and we’ve got lots of members of our team who use it in the parks often. Grab it here! We can’t wait to be at the opening day of the festival to bring you all the latest news and reviews, so stay tuned to DFB! View the full article

When it comes to Disney World, it can be either the most magical time of your life or a trip you don’t mention for years until it finally becomes funny to talk about how bad it went. AMKEN Waist Fan That might sound dramatic, but it’s really true! There are a lot of aspects of Disney World that make it a one-time trip for people, like the crowds, long lines, prices, and the HEAT. We’ve spent over 15 years learning the best tips for crowds, strategies to avoid lines, and ways to budget. Now, this new online find might be just the way to fight those detrimental summer days. DISCLOSURE: This post may contain affiliate links, meaning when you click the links and make a purchase, we receive a commission. Sure, there are ways to fight high temperatures in Disney World. You can head to indoor attractions or restaurants, you can drink lots of water, and you can take breaks from the park. At some point, you will inevitably have to head back into the sunshine to get to your next destination, and that can be tough. That’s where our favorite fan comes in, and it’s MUCH better than you’re imagining. AMKEN Waist Fan The AMKEN Waist Fan This was a cooling fan that might have changed our lives in Disney World. This fan can clip onto your waist, rest on tables, attach to strollers, hang around your neck, or even be a handheld device for wherever you need the best cooling. We put this fan to the test in Disney World, and it worked even better than we could have imagined. Our AMKEN Waist Fan on our waist The fan comes with a belt or clips so you can attach it to your pants or waist and slip it under your shirt for the MAXIMUM cooling power. The fan has 3 speeds, so you can adjust the air as needed. In our experience, it ran on high non-stop for 4 hours, which is seriously impressive. Its cooling power is also super strong to the point where it almost made us COLD at one point, where the air was hitting us directly, which is nearly unheard of with portable fans. How it props up on tables! If you carry heat in your torso or back area, this can be a game-changer to make the park feel survivable. Even if you don’t hold heat in those areas, this can be an amazing and small way to cool off, even if you can’t make it indoors. For the price, we think this fan is sturdy and is super effective. We will admit, it’s not a super quiet fan. It’s not too bad, but the sound is noticeable, and we can see it being an issue for anyone with noise sensitivity. Clipping it onto our shirt! It also might be a bit heavy for people on their waist, but our reporter didn’t experience any issues when testing. We love that this device is versatile and can operate anyway we need it to during those long days. We can see this fan being useful in Disney World, at any sporting events, hunting, fishing, weddings, outdoor photoshoots, and more! We also like that it has a flashlight and hazard light feature for additional safety elements. Shop on Amazon Now This fan might be our number one find for surviving those Disney World summers, but you know we’ll keep searching just in case. As always, be sure to keep following DisneyFoodBlog for your Disney toolkit, ultimate guides, and more. View the full article

Well, it’s not every day that we walk into Disney World only to see that something has completely closed without a word to anyone. Marketplace Snacks Now, we ARE in Disney World every day, and we walk around the parks to try and catch things just like this, because as wild as it sounds, things ARE changing in the resort every single day. We stepped into Disney Springs today to check out the Lime Garage closure, which we’ve known was coming for many months, but then we spotted another closure — Marketplace Snacks is somehow completely…and no one has said ANYTHING about it. We, quite literally, stood in front of this spot for five minutes, trying to figure out what was going on. Marketplace Snacks is TOTALLY closed. The menu is gone, the windows are closed, and we were scratching our heads, wondering what was going on. Marketplace Snacks closed?! We checked online, and this spot is still listing normal hours for today, which is very unlike Disney. They’re usually pretty quick at updating websites with current information. ©Disney After about half an hour, we circled back around to see that Cast Members had rolled a cart over with Entrance and Exit signs, and we were told that this spot is under refurbishment beginning today! We weren’t told what it’s for, how long it’s expected to last, or anything more about it, only that it’s under refurb, instead of being closed for good (thank GOODNESS!). The signs have all been put up too! This is all VERY strange, considering it’s not like Disney to begin a refurbishment without changing hours online at all, even if it happens the day of. However, it’s now been multiple hours past 11 when this spot was supposed to open, and hours have not changed online. More Recent Disney Springs News! Tons of construction projects are happening around Disney World Resort, and we don’t just mean the parks — the Disney World hotels and Disney Springs are seeing lots of construction too! Disney Springs Lime Garage Disney Springs is home to some of our favorite shopping and dining options, and with so much to do, it needs a lot of parking to be able to accommodate its crowds. There are numerous parking lots and areas available, but one MASSIVE one has just closed for refurbishment, which means parking might get a little tricky for the next few months. The Lime Garage in Disney Springs will be closed for a refurbishment for the majority of the first quarter (three months) of 2026. It’ll be closed from January 12th through February 11th, then will reopen very briefly from February 12th through 16th, then close again from February 17th through March 13th. Lime Garage Closed We checked it out this morning, and sure enough, the parking lot is all closed off to guests, but the restrooms nearby do remain open. We’ll continue to keep a close eye on what construction continues to look like as it progresses, because it’s not entirely clear yet what work is being done. The bushes = closed off This means when you’re parking at Disney Springs, these will be your options for parking: Orange Garage (closest to the West Side of Disney Springs) Orange parking garage Grapefruit Garage (located behind Lime Garage; you must walk over a skyway to get to Disney Springs) ©DisneySpringsTwitter Watermelon Parking Lot (closest to Cirque du Soleil) Cirque du Soliel Strawberry Parking Lot (to the left of Watermelon Parking Lot, in between Disney Springs and Saratoga Springs) Strawberry Lot It’s our assumption that the Orange Garage and Watermelon Parking Lots will be busiest during this closure, but regardless of where you’re heading in Disney Springs, you’ll want to allow a little extra time to travel if you’re taking your own car and will need to park. If you’re staying at a Disney World hotel, you can also take a bus or water transportation to Disney Springs, and that travel shouldn’t be as heavily affected! Watermelon Lot We’ll continue to keep you updated throughout this construction, as well as keep you informed about all the other projects happening around the resort, so stay tuned to DFB! Staying OFF-PROPERTY can be a cost-effective way to enjoy Disney World without paying Disney World prices, but there are some tips and realities you need to be aware of before committing to this type of lodging. ©Marriott Good Neighbor Hotels are nearby hotels that are usually more affordable than Disney-owned hotels but are still partnered with Disney World to provide quality services, such as transportation and early entry to the theme parks in some cases. Over 40 hotels from major brands like Hilton, Marriott, IHG, and many more make up the list of Good Neighbor Hotels, and we spent hours upon hours conducting research to discover some secrets general tourists might be missing. One of our reporters spent hours examining each and every Disney World hotel — both Disney-owned and Good Neighbor Hotels — looking at special quirks, specific offerings, and reading all the fine print that’s usually glossed over. In her studies, she found some pretty important secrets that we’ve felt compelled to reveal! You can’t always trust non-Disney shuttles Non-Disney shuttles may NOT always be your friend. Several Good Neighbor Hotels offer complimentary shuttle service to and from the Disney World Resort, but sometimes they aren’t easily accessible. Parks Shuttle For some of these hotels, shuttle schedules can be SUPER limited and may only take you to certain parks instead of all of them. Some hotel shuttles may drop you off well AFTER park opening or pick up way BEFORE park closing. Some shuttles don’t do drop-offs while others don’t do pickups — forcing you to plan alternate means of transportation. Uber at EPCOT If you’re staying at a non-Disney hotel, just be very, very careful. Relying on those outside shuttles can be a BIG mistake if you have a big to-do list and are trying to stick to a time-based itinerary. You’ll want to visit the website of your Good Neighbor Hotel to find shuttle specifics, or call and ask questions if those specifics are hard to find. The hidden fees will get ya ALWAYS CHECK FOR RESORT FEES!!! While some Good Neighbor Hotels don’t have any resort fees, others do, so booking will require a little bit of scouting. ©Disney When we were doing our hotel homework, we searched for dates, selected a room, got the final pricing, and examined all the fine print details. Right before you check out, you’ll usually see things fully priced out — including those pesky resort fees. ©Homewood Suites by Hilton Orlando The trick is to go all the way to basically almost booking a reservation to make sure you’re seeing accurate pricing. From there, you can make an informed decision. These checkout pages also feature loads of other useful tips, like cancellation deadlines, refund policies, important operational hours, other “hidden” fees, and more hotel information. If you’re dropping hundreds or thousands of dollars on a room, it doesn’t hurt to spend a couple of minutes to verify what you’re paying for. Dining options can be rough Sometimes, on-site dining for some of these non-Disney hotels is VERY limited. Some might include free breakfast and a grab-and-go “restaurant”, others might also have a pool bar, and some of the higher-end options might feature various restaurants. It all depends on which of the 40+ hotels you choose. Delta Orlando The important thing to remember is that these are NOT the Disney-owned hotels when it comes to food. If you’re banking on a food court that even the lowest tier of Disney World hotels have, you might be out of luck. Hot food, restaurants, and plentiful dining options are not a universal feature of Good Neighbor Hotels. While some hotels do have some wonderful dining options, there are many that will leave you out to dry. We also recommend checking out your hotel’s dining details to see what they offer, because it may be VERY different than what you’re used to if you were used to a Disney World hotel. Breakfast is included in your stay at some Good Neighbor Hotels. As a bonus secret, it’s important to note that amenities aren’t always printed in black and white. Some hotels might not have certain amenities on their own, but may have relationships with neighboring hotels that have special perks. For example, the Swan Reserve has access to the Swan and Dolphin hotels’ amenities, but you do need to make the 5-to-7-minute walk there. In our studies, there were other non-Disney hotels that had similar situations — maybe they didn’t have an elaborate pool, but they had a partnership with a hotel next to them that had something cool that you could access. Ultimately, it always comes down to doing research of your own! Our reporter spent hours looking at every hotel, but if you narrow down your preferred choices to just one or a few, it shouldn’t take you nearly as long to see what’s available to you and which hotels make sense for your budget, needs, and itinerary. We’re constantly examining the Disney World hotels and staying at them ourselves to get a better understanding of what you can expect during your next vacation! We’ll continue to relay all the latest Disney World hotel (both Good Neighbor AND Disney-owned) updates, tips, and reviews, so keep it posted right here at the Disney Food Blog to stay in the know! Mardi Gras Parade Universal Mardi Gras features live concerts, delicious food, and a festive parade that you won’t want to miss. Throwing beads from the float! Reservations for Annual Passholders open on January 15th after 12 PM. TONS of new treats and drinks dropped in Disneyland last Thursday, January 8th! Of course, we stopped by to try some of the new offerings—like PINK milk!! Yes, there is now a third milk option in Galaxy’s Edge! Plus, we also grabbed a Sweet Heat Beignet Chicken Sandwich, Infinity Cream Puffs, and 9 other new food items. We also really wanted to try another new treat, but by the time we stopped by to grab it, it had already SOLD OUT. Pink Milk Cast Members said they didn’t anticipate its popularity, so they didn’t make many. We vowed to make our way back — earlier this time — as soon as we could. Well, we have some good news! We stopped by Disneyland this weekend, and we were able to secure this popular treat! Here it is: the Mickey-Shaped Cinnamon Roll Macaron! You can find this treat at the Cappuccino Cart at Disney California Adventure. You can grab it for $9. It is a cinnamon roll macaron shell filled with cream cheese buttercream and cinnamon caramel. Mickey-Shaped Cinnamon Roll Macaron The macaron is served chilled, and it is veeerrry delicate. It broke the moment we took it out of the container, so we recommend snapping your pictures before trying to remove it from the plastic! The treat had a strong cream cheese flavor that seemed to overpower the cinnamon flavor. You got some hints of cinnamon, but cream cheese is definitely the star. Mickey-Shaped Cinnamon Roll Macaron We wish there were a bit more of a cinnamon flavor, but if you are a cream cheese fan, we think you will love this macaron. It is definitely a cute treat, but we were a bit disappointed in the overall flavor. We still enjoyed it, but it didn’t really deliver on the “cinnamon roll” flavor. If you’ve ever found yourself grabbing a last minute meal in DinoLand U.S.A., this news might sting a little. Restaurantosaurus A popular Disney World restaurant is officially closing its doors next month, and it’s going to change how guests eat in Disney’s Animal Kingdom for a while. We finally have firm dates, plus details on where that familiar food is heading next. If Restaurantosaurus has ever been part of your Animal Kingdom routine, you’ll want to know exactly what’s happening and when. Restaurantosaurus, the longtime quick service staple in DinoLand U.S.A., is permanently closing on February 2nd, 2026. That means the very last day to eat there will be February 1st, 2026, so the clock is officially ticking. For years, this spot has been a reliable option for burgers, chicken nuggets, and air conditioning, which honestly made it a go to for a lot of families. Whether you loved the kitschy theming or just needed a break from the heat, Restaurantosaurus definitely filled an important role in many of our Animal Kingdom dining plans. Restaurantosaurus This closure is part of the larger transformation happening in the park, specifically the construction of the Tropical Americas area, also known as Pueblo Esperanza. This new land will take over the current DinoLand footprint and is already under construction. Pueblo Esperanza Construction So what happens to all those familiar menu items once Restaurantosaurus is gone? Disney plans to shift much of that food to Harambe Market. This quick service restaurant near Kilimanjaro Safaris has been closed for months, but it looks like Disney’s website is showing availability for Harambe Market starting March 1st, 2026. ©Disney When Harambe Market does reopen, we’re expected to see a change to the menu. We’re expecting to see items like burgers, chicken strips, and hot dogs added to the lineup to help replace what DinoLand is losing. Previously, Harambe Market focused more on rice bowls, pita wraps, salads, and desserts with bold flavors. We personally loved those options, so we’re hoping Disney finds a way to keep some of that identity while still offering more familiar fare. Meal from Harambe Market There is one important thing you’ll want to keep in mind, though. Harambe Market only offers outdoor seating, unlike Restaurantosaurus, which gives you a full indoor dining area and a break from the weather (Harambe Market does not). If rain rolls in or the heat gets too intense, you may need to carry your food somewhere else. Harambe Market Long term, the answer is coming with Pueblo Esperanza. Disney has shared that there will be a massive hacienda style quick service restaurant coming to Tropical Americas, which Disney said will be one of the largest quick service locations in all of Walt Disney World. We’re just going to have to wait until 2027 for it to open. Tropical Americas If Restaurantosaurus has been one of your Animal Kingdom comfort meals, now’s the time to plan one last visit. After February 1st, 2026, it’ll officially be gone, and Animal Kingdom dining is going to look a little different for at least the next year. As always, we’ll keep you posted on menu updates, reopening dates, and everything else you need to know to eat your way around Disney World.
