We’ve got exciting news coming from Disney World Resort, specifically Animal Kingdom, that you won’t want to miss! ©Disney Yesterday, we saw Disney file a new permit for the park that very well could be for the new Bluey experience coming to the Conservation Station later this year, and now, there’s a new casting call that caught our eye, too. It looks like Disney is searching for actors to bring this new Bluey and Bingo experience to life, and it gives us more of an idea of when we can expect to meet these beloved characters! The Disney Auditions website is where you can head to find what roles Disney is hiring for its theme parks, cruise line, and more, and a new listing just caught our eye. Disney World is casting for Host actors to bring this new experience to life. Auditions will be online submissions that will be accepted through January 23rd at 11:30 PM. The description of the event reveals that Bluey and Bingo will enter the park to interact with guests in Summer 2026, and will participate in photo opportunities, Bluey’s favorite games, and more. The actors must be comfortable with hosting large groups, improv, and working closely with children. Listing on Disney Auditions website The monologue that Disney is asking actors to submit reveals that this role will be the front-facing role, directly interacting with the kids and leading the group in the fun games and activities. Callbacks will be held on or around February 27th, 2026, but actors will find out if they’re requested for a callback no later than February 6th. The biggest piece of information? That rehearsals are expected to begin in early May! ©Disney We know this will be a HUGE hit for families, since so many kiddos (and adults!) are big fans of Bluey, so we think this summer in Animal Kingdom will be extra special. We’ll be sure to keep our eyes peeled for more information, but based on the rehearsal schedule, it is likely that this experience will kick off in late May or early June. When it comes to dining at Universal Orlando, there are lots of fantastic options to choose from. However, one of our absolute favorites is Finnegan’s Bar & Grill. ©Universal This restaurant is located in Universal Studios, and you’ll often find it to be pretty busy thanks to its great atmosphere, fantastic dining options, and prime location. However, this is your reminder that starting next week, this restaurant will be closing for a refurbishment. Finnegan’s will close on January 12th, and will remain closed through Winter 2026 — yes, that means all the way at the END of this year! At this time, there’s no specific reopening date, and we also don’t know what renovations are being done. It sounds like it’s pretty intense, considering it’ll be closed for the majority of the year, but we have no way of knowing for sure just yet. ©Universal This restaurant is located in the New York section of the park and is a festive traditional Irish-American pub and a full-service restaurant. You can find iconic Irish dishes like Irish Fish & Chips, Corned Beef & Cabbage, and Dublin Lawyer, but classic burgers, salads, and more are also available for those who want some more American dishes. It’s usually got great AC on hot days, and despite how busy it is, it’s usually a great way to take a break from the park. ©Universal Other closures will be taking place in Universal Orlando this year as well. The Hogwarts Express will be closed throughout most of February, and Jurassic Park River Adventure will be closed from January 5th, 2026, through November 19th, 2026. Revenge of the Mummy will be closed for a week in January, and some Volcano Bay experiences will be closed until December 18th, 2025. One of our favorite “holidays” in Disneyland Resort at the start of each year is Anaheim Ducks Day, which is a whole day dedicated to the popular Anaheim Ducks Hockey Club. On Feb. 22, 2026, guests may partake in the Anaheim Ducks Day event at Disney California Adventure park in Anaheim, Calif. This fan and park-goer favorite returns for one day, featuring appearances by select Anaheim Ducks players and Wild Wing, hockey-themed entertainment and activities, photo opportunities and more. (Richard Harbaugh/Disneyland Resort) This special event happens only one day each year, falling on February 22nd this year, and it’s a great way to experience special photo opportunities, check out exclusive merchandise, meet/see some of the players, and, of course, try out new snacks! Disney just released a sneak peek at three of the new snacks that will only be available during this special day, and we’re pretty pumped about all of them. These snacks will only be served at Disney California Adventure on February 22nd, so you’ll want to mark your calendars and grab those park tickets/park pass reservations. If you’re looking for a drink, you can try the Quacktail Cooler, which is made with Vodka and orange juice slushy with beer foam topping. You can find it at Hollywood Lounge! @disneyeats on Instagram For those who love savory items, you cannot miss the Chicken-fried Steak Burrito at Studio Catering Co.! This is made with Sautéed vegetables, egg, and country gravy with potato bites. It certainly looks delicious, and we can’t wait to give it a try in a few short weeks. @disneyeats on Instagram Finally, for those who have a sweet tooth (like me, this is what caught my eye IMMEDIATELY), the Ducks Day Brownie Cheesecake at Schmoozies! will be right up your alley. This is a Cookies and cream cheesecake with a brownie base covered with a dark chocolate shell (Why does California have to be so far away? This sounds AMAZING). @disneyeats on Instagram In addition to all the snacks, select players from the team will appear in the park, you can see a celebratory “Take Flight Fan Rally” in the World of Color viewing area, participate in themed activities at the dedicated “fan zone” in Hollywood Land, purchase event merchandise, take advantage of photo opportunities, and so much more. It’s bound to be a great day! On Feb. 22, 2026, guests may partake in the Anaheim Ducks Day event at Disney California Adventure park in Anaheim, Calif. Disney World is no stranger to trends! ©Disney They embrace fun food trends, and Cast Members have loved some of the more silly trends like the viral Tower of Terror photopass moment. Some online trends might even get you into trouble in the parks, so you have to be careful. Disney World even falls victim to a good viral TikTok every now and then, and this new one has us wondering just when this new popular trend will pop up in the theme parks. If you’re chronically online like we are, you’ve heard of Dubai chocolate or any Ube-flavored snack. It can feel like everyone is munching on these snacks, and even if you’ve never tried it, you find yourself suddenly craving Dubai chocolate. It happens to the best of us. We don’t even know what it tastes like, but based on videos, you just KNOW it has to be good. (Even if sometimes it’s not.) Iced Dubai Chocolate Matcha Well, a New Year has arrived, and so has a new up-and-coming trend. Despite it being nearly 100 years old, Shirley Temples are getting their moment right now as the first food trend of 2026! The famous drink, which is typically a light soda (typically Sprite) with grenadine syrup and a maraschino cherry in it, was created for the actress Shirley Temple when she was a child in the mid-1930s, but now, it’s having its moment for a totally different reason. According to GMA, the Shirley Temple is THE drink for Dry January. Shirley Temple If you don’t know, Dry January rolls around each year as people work on New Year’s Resolutions, and it’s when you just take a break from drinking alcohol. Many people like to substitute those adult beverages with fun mocktails or sodas so they can still have a fancy drink without the calories or negative health effects. (Each person’s reason is different!) No Gamma Burst Cocktails for now! The current trend for Dry January has become a search for classic and nostalgic flavors, hence the rise in popularity of this classic drink, which was one of the original mocktails. This drink was one of our favorite ways of getting a “fancy” drink as a kid, so it makes total sense that people find comfort and joy in them! The genuinely iconic drink has recently inspired two “high fiber beverage brands”, Olipop and Poppi, to create their own version of the drink. ©Olipop As we’re seeing this drink appear more through different brands, it’s made us wonder if Disney World will get in on the fun! Now, you can already get Shirley Temples in Disney World, and we have many, many times. What we are really curious to see is if Disney puts their own spin on the classic drink. There’s already kind of some Shirley Temple history in Hollywood Studios, if you can believe it. A Shirley Temple from the Brown Derby If you didn’t know, the drink’s history is somewhat debated, but one restaurant that claims to be the originator of the drink is the original Brown Derby Restaurant, which has been replicated in Disney’s Hollywood Studios! The story goes that Shirley Temple was out with her parents and wanted a fun drink like the adults had, and BOOM, the restaurant created the drink for her then and there. We’ve even had Cast Members share this story with us, so they definitely claim it, although a few other restaurants say the same. Inside the Brown Derby! We could see Disney doing a fun twist on a milkshake, beverage, or even a coffee (imagine the cherry cold foam)! Sometimes it takes Disney a few weeks to join in on something going viral, but we would personally love to see their twist on a classic. We will be sure to keep our eyes peeled for any new additions around the parks, so be sure to keep following DisneyFoodBlog for more! 4 Food Trends That Fans Are DREADING in Disney World This Year Join the DFB Newsletter to get all the breaking news right in your inbox! Finding the perfect restaurant for your crew can make or break your Disney day. Biergarten Planning meals for a group of four at Disney World hits differently than dining solo or as a couple. You need enough space to actually sit together, dishes worth sharing, and ideally a vibe where everyone can relax without feeling cramped. And if you have picky eaters in your group, well, that takes this challenge to a whole new level. We’ve been testing restaurants across the parks to identify the best options that work for groups, so here’s what we’ve learned. Garden Grill Garden Grill is one of those spots that seems perfect on paper for groups, but here’s the thing: it actually works best for smaller parties. The tables in this rotating restaurant aren’t massive, which means if you roll up with more than four to six people, there’s a solid chance your group will get split up at separate tables. Garden Grill For a party of four, though? It’s pretty much ideal. You’ll all fit comfortably at one table, you can share the family-style dishes that come around, and everyone gets to enjoy the slow rotation past the Living with the Land scenes. Our first course! The character interactions are a bonus, and since the food keeps coming, nobody has to worry about ordering wrong or leaving hungry. Just know that if your group grows beyond four, this might not be your best bet. And when it comes to value, this is where Garden Grill really shines. At $49 per adult/$33 per child for breakfast, and $62 per adult/$43 per child at lunch and dinner, this is one of the most economical character meals on Disney property. Add in that it’s all you care to enjoy and that it offers comfort classics for each meal (Mickey Waffles, scrambled eggs, fresh fruit, and more for breakfast and roast turkey, mac and cheese, and mashed potatoes for lunch and dinner) means that this bottomless meal has something for everyone. Mickey at Garden Grill Let’s compare that with some other Character Meal buffets/all-you-care-to-eat options to show you how it measures up! Restaurant Location Adult Price Child Price (3–9) Characters (typical lineup) Akershus Royal Banquet Hall (Princess Storybook Dining) EPCOT (Norway Pavilion) $62 (breakfast) $69 (lunch/dinner) $39 (breakfast) $46 (lunch/dinner) Disney Princesses (rotating). “May include” Belle, Jasmine, Snow White, Aurora, Mulan(varies by day). Chef Mickey’s Disney’s Contemporary Resort $59 (breakfast) $69 (dinner) $38 (breakfast) $44 (dinner) Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Goofy, Pluto (chef attire) ‘Ohana (Best Friends Breakfast featuring Lilo & Stitch) Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort $53 $33 Lilo, Stitch, Mickey (Hawaiian outfit), Pluto Tusker House Restaurant (Donald’s Safari Breakfast) Disney’s Animal Kingdom $52 (breakfast) $64 (lunch/dinner) $35 (breakfast) $42 (lunch/dinner) Daisy, Donald, Goofy, Mickey (safari outfits) Topolino’s Terrace – Breakfast à la Art with Mickey & Friends Disney’s Riviera Resort $54 $35 Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Daisy (artist-themed costumes) 1900 Park Fare Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa $58 (breakfast) $69 (dinner) $37 (breakfast) $44 (dinner) Aladdin, Cinderella, Mirabel, Princess Tiana Cape May Cafe (Minnie’s Beach Bash Breakfast) Disney’s Beach Club Resort $49 $33 Minnie, Goofy, Donald, Daisy (beachy outfits) Hollywood & Vine (Disney Junior Play n’ Dine) Disney’s Hollywood Studios $49 (breakfast) $64 (lunch/dinner) $33 (breakfast) $44 (lunch/dinner) Doc McStuffins, Fancy Nancy, Vampirina, Goofy The Crystal Palace Magic Kingdom $54 (breakfast) $64 (lunch/dinner) $35 (breakfast) $44 (lunch/dinner) Winnie the Pooh, Tigger, Eeyore, Piglet Notes: Prices are before tax and gratuity where applicable; menus, prices, and character lineups can change without notice. Pluto is judging us Garden Grill is the “why didn’t we do this sooner?” pick for a party of four because it’s family-style (translation: no buffet stampede, no plate-juggling Olympics, no one getting abandoned at the table while someone hunts for Mickey waffles). The restaurant slowly rotates through Living with the Land, so you’re basically getting dinner and a ride, which is peak Disney efficiency. And the character time tends to feel calmer and more consistent, since the pace is built into the experience instead of depending on how chaotic the buffet line gets. Plus, it’s one of the easier character meals to actually talk, laugh, and eat like a functioning group… while Chip, Dale, Mickey, and Pluto pop by like they’re hosting your very wholesome, very snack-forward dinner party. Click here to check out our most recent review! Via Napoli For a group of four, Via Napoli is basically the cheat code for an easy, satisfying, everyone-wins meal in EPCOT. You’re in the Italy Pavilion, which means you get instant vacation vibes, a lively dining room that feels like it’s permanently 7:43 p.m. in Rome, and that warm, bustling energy that makes a meal feel like an event instead of “we inhaled food and sprinted back to rides.” Wood-burning “Volcano” Ovens: Stromboli, The menu is famously approachable, which is exactly what you want when you’ve got four different appetites, four different spice tolerances, and at least one person who’s “not that hungry” until the pizza arrives. You’ve got straightforward pastas, salads, and the kind of wood-fired pizza that doesn’t require a translation guide or a culinary dissertation. It’s crowd-pleaser cuisine with just enough glow-up to feel special. Even the pickiest eater in your group usually finds something they’ll happily commit to, no dramatic negotiations required. Homemade Focaccia Pizza is basically designed for sharing, and Via Napoli takes that concept and runs with it. The pizzas here are huge. We’re talking authentic Neapolitan-style pies that are legitimately meant to feed multiple people. Prosciutto e Melone pizza Now let’s talk value, because sharing a pizza here is one of the best “bang for your buck” moves in EPCOT. The pizzas are big, satisfying, and built for splitting, which makes ordering for four feel simple: grab a couple pies, add a salad (or two, if you’re feeling like a responsible adult), and suddenly you’ve got a table full of food without each person ordering a separate entrée that costs as much as a small souvenir. Plus, splitting pizzas means everyone gets variety, and no one has to sit there jealous of someone else’s pepperoni situation. A group of four can easily split one or two pizzas, depending on how hungry everyone is, and the quality is legitimately good. It’s not just theme park pizza that happens to be round. This is the real deal with a proper wood-fired oven and ingredients imported from Italy. Inside Via Napoli It’s also a great spot for groups because it naturally encourages the “order together, share together” rhythm. That’s the secret sauce for a smooth meal: fewer decisions, fewer awkward “are we doing separate checks?” moments, and more time actually hanging out. Via Napoli is loud in a fun way, forgiving if your group is chatty, and perfectly positioned for that post-meal stroll around World Showcase where you can argue (politely, of course) about which pavilion snack is next. Click here to check out our most recent review! Flame Tree Barbecue Flame Tree Barbecue is the kind of place that makes a group of four feel like they’ve cracked the code to Animal Kingdom. You’re not stuck in a loud indoor cafeteria vibe, you’re tucked into this shady, breezy little oasis of winding paths and waterfront seating where it genuinely feels like you’ve escaped the crowds. It’s casual in the best way: show up hungry, find a table, and suddenly you’re having a “how is this quick service?!” moment while the park soundtrack fades into leafy calm. Baked Macaroni & Cheese with Pulled Pork And the menu? Deliciously un-complicated. This is barbecue that understands the assignment: big, hearty portions, familiar flavors, and options that make everyone happy without turning ordering into a 12-minute committee meeting. Ribs people can get ribs, chicken people can get chicken, pulled pork fans can live their best life, and everyone can pretend they’re “just going to share fries” and then immediately abandon that lie when the food hits the table. Flame Tree Barbecue meal For a group of four, Flame Tree really shines because it’s built for sharing. Barbecue is naturally communal food, and a platter situation lets you mix and match without anyone feeling locked into one choice. Order a couple entrées, grab an extra side or two, and suddenly you’ve got a spread that feels like a mini-feast without spending table service money. Or keep it cheap and simple and just grab a platter or two and split it up among your group. It’s peak bang-for-your-buck: filling, flavorful, and hearty enough that you’re not hunting for a second lunch thirty minutes later. Ribs, Chicken, and Pulled Pork Sampler And if you’ll allow me a shameless plug for my all-time favorite Disney treat – The Key Lime Pie Pop. This isn’t just dessert, it’s a tiny, blissful victory on a stick. It is an ENTIRE slice of Key lime pie (crust and all!) dipped in dark chocolate! Tart, creamy key lime goodness with that sweet coating and the little hit of crunchy magic, like someone took Florida and turned it into a handheld mic drop. If your group does nothing else at Flame Tree, do this: get the barbecue, eat like you mean it, then split the Key Lime Pie Pop… or don’t split it, because friendship is important, but so is having nice things. The perfect filling Click here to check out our most recent review! Biergarten Biergarten is basically the ultimate “we want a real sit-down meal, but we also want to have fun” pick for a group of four. The setting alone does half the work: you walk in and suddenly you’re in a cozy German village at twilight, complete with that indoor-outdoor vibe and communal tables that make it feel like you’ve been invited to a party, not just seated for dinner. It’s loud in a joyful way, the kind of place where laughing isn’t “disruptive,” it’s practically part of the soundtrack. Time to make friends! Now, yes, some menu labels will look like your high school German teacher dared you to pronounce them out loud. But here’s the secret: the food is peak comfort, even when the words are a little spicy. Think hearty, warm, and “I needed this after walking 12 miles in the Florida sun” energy. And because it’s a buffet, it hits that perfect sweet spot for groups: the cautious eater can stick to familiar favorites, and the adventurous one can go full “I will try everything once,” with zero pressure and no one stuck with an entrée they regret. Our entire dessert plate! That’s the real magic for four people: variety without drama. Biergarten is the perfect balance of classics and just-enough adventure, so everyone gets a win. You can build a plate that’s safe and cozy, or you can treat the buffet like a personal tasting tour through Germany. And if your group has that one person who insists they’re “not hungry,” don’t worry, the buffet will handle them. It always does. Biergarten Then there’s the beer. This is not a “sip and suffer” situation. You can order German beer by the pint, lean into the theme, and suddenly your meal feels like a celebration. Pair that with the live entertainment, and the whole experience turns into a mini Oktoberfest moment right in EPCOT. It’s rousing, it’s ridiculous in the best way, and it gives your table something to cheer for between bites. Biergarten isn’t just dinner, it’s dinner with a built-in energy upgrade, which is exactly what a group of four deserves. You’re basically guaranteed to sit together at one table, and the German-inspired dishes offer something different from the standard theme park fare you’ll find everywhere else. Click here to check out our most recent review! Jaleo Jaleo is basically the official headquarters of “we came to eat well and we brought opinions.” For a group of four, it’s the sweet spot between elevated and effortless, with a lively, colorful setting that feels like you’re doing something special without needing to whisper or sit up straight the whole time. This is a Disney Springs meal that says, “Yes, we’re adults,” while still letting you have a little fun with it. Jaleo by Chef Jose Andres The real genius is the menu: small plates designed to be shared. Translation: nobody has to commit to one entrée like it’s a legally binding contract. Your group can order a mix of classics and slightly more adventurous picks, pass things around, and build your own tapas tour based on whatever mood you’re in. It’s perfect for hanging with friends because sharing is part of the plan, not an awkward “can I try a bite?” afterthought. It’s also fantastic for a double date because the table stays busy, the conversation stays flowing, and the food gives you an endless supply of “okay but THIS one is my favorite” talking points. Flavor-wise, Jaleo nails that balance of comforting and curious. There are plenty of “yes, I recognize this and I will happily eat it” options, plus enough bold, bright, smoky, garlicky goodness to keep the adventurous eater from getting bored. It feels a little fancy, but it doesn’t feel fussy. No one’s leaving hungry, and no one’s leaving thinking, “We paid how much for a decorative smear of sauce?” This is real food with real payoff. And if your group wants to level it up, the drinks are ready for their close-up. Spanish wine is an easy win with tapas, and the cocktails are exactly what you want when the adults are treating themselves: fun, well-made, and ideal for toasting to your excellent decision-making. Best of all, splitting plates can be surprisingly friendly on the budget. You get that elevated-night-out feeling without torching your wallet… which means you’ll still have money for dessert. Or shopping. Or both, because we contain multitudes. REVIEW: We Stuffed Ourselves With Carbs and Cheese (But NOT Tiny Cokes!) at Jaleo in Disney World! At the recent Sixth Annual Global Tech & Data Showcase, Disney made a series of announcements regarding the company’s technological initiatives, including how “AI, insights, and automation” affect marketing initiatives. ©Disney Rita Ferro, The Walt Disney Company’s President of Global Advertising, wrote of the company’s announcements, “Advertisers are raising the bar for both accountability and innovation, seeking impactful ways to align with quality storytelling and data-led solutions that drive meaningful business results. Disney brings together world-class storytelling and the technology that connects brands with fans at scale across the world’s most premium live sports and entertainment experiences.” Disney’s announcement ran the gamut from creative developments to internal data collection technologies, fan behaviors, and user experience. From a creative standpoint, Disney discussed a new video generation tool designed for advertising that allows brands to create “high-quality” CTV-ready commercials using existing brand assets. According to Disney, this tool “supports creative versioning by audience, context, and placement and is informed by performance signals within the spot. The focus is on helping creative work harder inside Disney environments, while at the same time providing safeguards and building with human oversight and imagination throughout the process.” ©Disney Internally, Disney has a new AI-powered tool that “captures objectives, audience intent, timing, and constraints to focus on strategy and collaboration, rather than setup,” which will, in turn, make the advertising planning process with Disney faster and easier. Disney also discussed Compass. The tool (which launched in 2025), “brings together planning, data collaboration, and measurement into a single, connected experience” and supports campaigns across the U.S. and LATAM, with EMEA support coming. Those using the Disney Compass Brand Portal can see a “unified view of brand performance across campaigns and platforms, with category benchmarks and AI-powered summaries.” The company also confirmed that AI-powered summaries highlighting key learnings and identifying new opportunities for advertisers are coming to Compass soon. ©Disney Finally, Disney confirmed that they’re bringing vertical video to Disney+ in the U.S. in 2026, similar to the implementation of “Verts” on the ESPN app. According to the company, this vertical integration will allow the streaming experience to “evolve as it expands across news and entertainment and delivers a more personalized, dynamic experience that reinforces Disney+ as a must-visit daily destination.” Tony Donohoe, Disney’s EVP of Advertising Platforms, said, “These are tools and technology we’re bringing to advertisers because we believe they solve actual problems and drive actual value for you. It’s a blend of technical depth and storytelling sensibility that very few companies can deliver.” ©Disney At the Sixth Annual Global Tech & Data Showcase, Disney discussed a litany of products and technological initiatives designed to streamline their advertising initiatives. A BUNCH of new food just dropped at Disneyland Resort, and of course, we had to check out some of the new items. We are the Disney Food Blog after all; if there is food involved at Disney, we will be there! Disneyland Resort is still celebrating its 70th Anniversary, and some new treats are coming to mark the occasion. Plus, Disney just added some extra new food and drink items, because why not? Pink Milk Most of the new treats are available as of January 8th, although the new menu items at Flo’s V8 Cafe won’t be available until January 20th (don’t worry, we will be back to give you a full review of those new items, too!). Disney released a foodie guide earlier this month detailing the 91 NEW items coming to Disneyland. We stopped by Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure to try some of the new treats, so you know which ones are must-gets and which ones you should skip. Disneyland Park Pink Milk ($8.99) from Milk Stand This is a plant-based rice milk blend with sweet and fruity characteristics. We had to start with this one, because we were SO excited for it! It has been a long debate whether Blue or Green Milk is better, and now there is a third contender: Pink Milk! The Cast Member told us it was a strawberry and banana flavor, but the app says sweet and fruity. Pink Milk We couldn’t really make out any individual fruit flavors, and we honestly thought it mostly tasted like bubble gum. It has that artificial sweetness to it. We thought it was sweet and refreshing, and worth trying if you are a fan of the other milk drinks. Pink Milk Peanut Butter Brownie Slice ($7.99) from Jolly Holiday Bakery This is a brownie slice topped with peanut butter mousse, melted peanut butter, and chocolate. We had super high hopes going into this treat. Chocolate and peanut butter are a winning combination in our book, and we are happy to say that this treat delivered. It was served chilled and had a denser texture. Not like this is too dense to eat, but more of a fudgy consistency versus a cake consistency for the brownie. Peanut Butter Brownie Slice We loved the rich chocolate flavor of this brownie, and it paired well with the peanut butter mousse, which had a cool, creamy texture. If you love chocolate and peanut butter together, we think you should add this treat to your list. Peanut Butter Brownie Slice Breakfast Fantasyland Faire Fold ($12.99) from Red Rose Taverne This is a flour tortilla filled with cheese, hash brown, egg, bacon, sausage, and creamy aioli. It is only served during breakfast, so make sure you head over early if you want to snag it! This is a delicious pocket full of yumminess. We were impressed by how filling it was and loved the combination of flavors. Breakfast Fantasyland Faire Fold The creamy aioli had a bit of a kick and reminded us of Thousand Island dressing. It wasn’t overly spicy, but be prepared for a bit of heat to creep up in the end. The hash brown was crunchy, the bacon was crisp, the sausage was juicy, and the eggs were fluffy. All of this was topped with a gooey cheese! This is an item we would definitely get again. Breakfast Fantasyland Faire Fold Gaston Burger ($18.29) from Red Rose Taverne This burger is LOADED with pastrami; we are pretty sure we had more pastrami than beef patty. The pastrami was smoky and salty, with a great beef flavor. Unfortunately, the beef patty was on the dry side. We thought the sauteed onion and peppers added some great sweet and savory flavor. Gaston Burger We were hoping for a bit of kick from the pepperoncino, but there wasn’t much spice at all. The burger also had some pickles and a Thousand Island sauce on the bottom. It is a generous portion, and we really enjoyed all of the flavors. Gaston Burger Black Cherry Taverne Cold Brew ($6.79) from Red Rose Taverne This is a chocolate cold brew with a black cherry topper. This cold brew was just okay, and we think there are lots of better options. We didn’t get much chocolate flavor from the cold brew, and the black cherry flavor in the topper wasn’t very strong either. When you just taste the topper by itself, you do get a sweet dark cherry flavor, but it gets a bit lost when you combine it with the cold brew. Not awful, and if you are looking for a cold brew, this could be a possibility, but if you are looking for more flavor, we wouldn’t recommend this one. Chocolate Croissant Cookie ($6.79) from Maurice’s Treats This is essentially a huge chocolate chip cookie with a crispy texture from the sugar and croissant being cooked flat. The chocolate flavor was a bit lighter than we expected, but it worked well with the buttery flavor from the croissant. Chocolate Croissant Cookie We thought the flavor was great, but the texture wasn’t our favorite. We would probably prefer a chocolate croissant or chocolate chip cookie over this treat, but if you love crisp baked goods, this might be a favorite for you! Chocolate Croissant Cookie Sweet Heat Beignet Chicken Sandwich ($15.29) from Tiana’s Palace Yummy! This was one of our favorite treats of the day. All of the flavors work super well together. The chicken is covered in buffalo sauce, which brings a bit of heat. It isn’t crazy spicy, but if you don’t like buffalo sauce, you will want to skip this one. The chicken was crispy, while the meat inside was still tender and juicy. Sweet Heat Beignet Chicken Sandwich The slaw had a cool, tangy taste that helped offset some of the chicken’s heat. Then, you get a bit of sweetness and vanilla flavor from the beignets. We will definitely be back to grab this sandwich again! Sweet Heat Beignet Chicken Sandwich Disney California Adventure Infinity Cream Puffs ($9.50) from Terran Treats This comes with six mini cream puffs in the following flavors: raspberry, cotton candy, key lime, strawberry, pabana, and orange cream. They are super bright and fun, and also taste delicious. We loved that each cream puff had a unique flavor. Each one’s puff pastry was perfectly cooked and filled with a cold and creamy filling. Infinity Cream Puffs Our favorite was probably the pabana (passionfruit, banana, lemon, and mango flavors). It was fruity and tropical. The key lime was surprisingly tart, the cotton candy tasted exactly like cotton candy, and the orange cream had a refreshing orange flavor. Infinity Cream Puffs The strawberry was tart and fruity with a blast of fresh flavor. The raspberry one was probably our least favorite, but it was still good. It just didn’t have as much flavor as the other ones. Infinity Cream Puffs Formulated French Toast ($11.99) from Pym Test Kitchen The Formulated French Toast features bacon, blueberry-flavored popping spheres, Jamaica syrup, whipped cream, and sprinkles. We probably wouldn’t say this is our favorite breakfast option on Disneyland property. The bacon was the best part; it wasn’t too chewy and had a mix of smoky and savory flavors. Formulated French Toast The french toast had a mild cinnamon flavor, but it was SO dry. The syrup helped with the dryness a bit, but it also brought out an odd flavor in the french toast that we weren’t a fan of. It was an artificially sweet flavor with a bit of floral notes. The popping boba had a very strong flavor, and we would honestly probably scrape it off next time. Formulated French Toast Matcha-Raspberry Baymax Macaron ($7.79) from Lucky Fortune Cookery This macaron is filled with raspberry gelee and matcha buttercream. The raspberry is the most prominent flavor in this treat, although you can also taste the matcha. It is not overly sweet, which we think is perfect for the flavor combination. Matcha-Raspberry Baymax Macaron The macaron was crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. We wish there was a bit more of the matcha flavor in this, but overall, we enjoyed it. Plus, we always love how adorable the Baymax macarons are! Matcha-Raspberry Baymax Macaron Strawberry, Hazelnut, Chocolate & Pistachio Mickey Shake ($14.29) from Schmoozies! This is a strawberry shake with pistachio whipped topping, fried kataifi, and chocolate sauce. Surprisingly, the hazelnut flavor was the most prominent flavor we tasted. We got a hint of strawberry, but it was definitely less pronounced than the hazelnut flavor. Strawberry, Hazelnut, Chocolate & Pistachio Mickey Shake We weren’t huge fans of the whipped cream; it was overly green and VERY thick. It was so thick it ended up sticking to the cup. You do get the pistachio flavor, but it’s very artificial. Also, be warned that the whipped cream will dye whatever it touches green! For almost $15, we don’t think this shake is worth it, unless you really love hazelnut or thick whipped cream. Strawberry, Hazelnut, Chocolate & Pistachio Mickey Shake Watermelon Cotton Candy ($6.50) from Outdoor Vending There isn’t much to watermelon cotton candy, but it definitely lives up to its name! It has a light watermelon flavor paired with that classic cotton candy flavor. It is sweet with a hint of fruitiness, and we really enjoyed this treat. Watermelon Cotton Candy The 70th Anniversary bag is also super fun. There is something so fun about chowing down on cotton candy in the middle of a theme park, and this treat delivers. Watermelon Cotton Candy We are in the Disney parks every single day, and we are always on the lookout for new food items. It’s valid for theme park admission between May 26th through September 15th, but you need to purchase your trip by February 15th. So how does this deal stack up? Disney’s Animal Kingdom Well, we looked at the cost for a sample trip from June 7th through June 13th for two adults and two children, with a stay at Disney’s Pop Century Resort. This would be a 6-day trip, but with the deal, that means two of those theme park days are free. The price for the vacation package, including the hotel stay and a 6-day theme park ticket, is $3,766.53. Pop Century Resort This is a great deal if you want to maximize your time in the theme parks and spend every single day in a park (and that’s something you could EASILY do). Four parks in six days gives you plenty of time to check out everything each park has to offer. Up to 30% off Hotels Okay, let’s look at the other offer. This one gives you up to 30% off hotels. Disney’s Pop Century Resort So we plugged in the same dates as before, June 7th through 13th, at Disney’s Pop Century Resort for two adults and two children. When prompted, we chose the hotel offer. The hotel rate we were quoted was $186.13 per night (the standard rate is $232.67 per night). When we add on a 6-day park ticket, the grand total comes out to $4,356.10. Disney’s Hollywood Studios entrance As you can see, the math shows that the first deal is the better one. A major publication has bestowed a big honor on Disney, as TIME has named the company one of America’s “Most Iconic Companies.” ©Disney The list is “a comprehensive analysis that seeks to identify entities that have not only achieved commercial success but have also become deeply ingrained in the American identity, shaping perceptions, habits, and aspirations,” and Disney came in 11th. The company fell just behind the Ford Motor Company, Apple, the Coca-Cola Company, Walmart, Amazon, McDonald’s, General Motors (GM), Google, and Nike, and ahead of PepsiCo, Oracle, Hershey, OpenAI, Cisco, Dairy Queen, Costco, Chick-fil-A, and Etsy. Rides based on Disney’s animated films have been part of Disney’s theme parks from the very beginning, as attractions based on Peter Pan, Snow White, and Mr. Toad anchored Disneyland’s Fantasyland when the park opened in 1955. Over the last 7 decades, films from across the Disney and Pixar canon have been immortalized at resorts around the world. ©Disney That said, to the chagrin of some fans, not every animated classic has gotten the ride treatment. Whether box office results scuttled plans — RIP Atlantis: The Lost Empire-themed Submarine Voyage refurbishment — or a film’s pop culture influence seemed to wane, many entries in the library have seemingly been skipped over. That said, fans shouldn’t fret, as recent events tell us that any Disney or Pixar animated film still has a chance of becoming a ride… There’s no denying that Disney has fast-tracked the development of certain attractions based on animated films in recent years. After the gargantuan success of Frozen in 2013, EPCOT’s Maelstrom was turned into Frozen Ever After by 2016. Frozen Ever After Other fresh examples include the Inside Out Emotional Whirlwind, which opened at California Adventure in 2019, just four years after the Pixar film, and the original Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure, which opened at the Disneyland Paris Resort 7 years after the Pixar film. Inside Out Emotional Whirlwind The trend is continuing with the upcoming Encanto attraction at Animal Kingdom, which is scheduled to open in 2027, a scant 6 years after the film debuted in theaters. ©Disney However, fans of older films shouldn’t give up hope just yet. While Disney has been using relatively recent films in some projects, that doesn’t mean that older films are completely off the table. After all, the massive Monsters, Inc. expansion coming to Hollywood Studios — complete with a first-of-its-kind suspended door coaster — is based on a film that was released in 2001. ©Disney Further examples can be found at the Tokyo Disney Resort. The acclaimed Enchanted Tales of Beauty and the Beast dark ride opened in 2020, 29 years after the legendary film. Enchanted Tale of Beauty and the Beast at Tokyo Disneyland Meanwhile, over at Tokyo DisneySea, the Fantasy Springs expansion – which opened in 2024 – features 3 mini-lands within: One based on Frozen, one based on Tangled, and in a full circle moment, one based on the 70-year old Peter Pan, just like Disneyland decades earlier. Peter Pan’s Never Land While Disney has prioritized films like Encanto and Frozen, quickly getting rides following their debuts, Monsters, Inc. land and other examples show that it’s never too late for Imagineering to develop a ride based on the company’s animated films. When planning a trip to Disney World, there are 4 things that we focus our planning on: accommodations, rides and Lightning Lanes, transportation, and DINING. Truthfully, dining might be our number 1 focus. There are just so many places to eat at the parks, hotels, and Disney Springs, and we love checking them all out. Even though we’ve been to them all many times over, they never get old. Mickey Beignets at Disney’s Port Orleans Resort If you’re planning a 2026 Disney World vacation and you’re starting to think about your dining situation, we want to caution you to be EXTRA careful when you’re booking your restaurants if you plan to take advantage of the new 2026 Disney Dining Plan deal. Here’s why. This year, Disney is offering free Dining Plans for kids ages 3-9 years old. That’s a great deal, especially if you were already considering getting the Dining Plan. The deal is available to those staying at a Disney World Resort hotel, as long as the adults on the reservation are purchasing the Dining Plan. DDP symbols There are two variations of Disney Dining Plans at Disney World: the Disney Quick-Service Dining Plan and the Disney Dining Plan. The Quick-Service Dining Plan comes with two quick-service meal credits and one snack credit for each night of your stay. The Disney Dining Plan comes with one snack credit, one quick-service meal credit, and one table-service meal credit for each night of your stay. Each meal comes with an entree (or buffet/family style meal at select table-service locations), a dessert (except during breakfast), and a beverage (including an alcoholic beverage for those 21 years or older). Ice Cold Hydraulics If you opt for the Quick-Service Dining Plan, you won’t need to worry about reservations. But if you decide to purchase the Disney Dining Plan with table-service meal credits, you’ll want to make restaurant reservations at your 60-day window. Definitely take advantage of ALL your credits to make sure you’re getting everything you pay for. And when you’re booking your reservations, you’ll want to be particularly careful to ensure you’re getting the best bang for your buck. How To Maximize Your Disney Dining Plan Credits Our meal at Biergarten Restaurant If you’re traveling with kids 9 years or younger and staying at a Disney hotel, you can get the dining plan free for them in 2026, but that also means you’ll want to book restaurants that are typically higher in price to make the cost of your own Dining Plan worth it. Your best bet will generally be character meals! Take advantage of these experiences with your table-service credits, as they’re often the most expensive meals at Disney World. This isn’t a hard and fast rule, but it’s usually the case. You’re a Cutie Pluto! For example, breakfast at ‘Ohana with characters such as Stitch is less expensive than the family-style dinner meal at ‘Ohana without characters. But other than that, you’ll usually find character meals to be the most expensive dining options, and ones you’ll likely want to book with your table-service credits to make the cost worth it. Stitch at ‘Ohana It’s also important to note that some character meals take TWO table-service credits, so you’ll use two nights’ worth of credits for the one meal. These experiences include the following: Cinderella’s Royal Table Akershus Royal Banquet Hall Story Book Dining at Artist Point with Snow White Aurora at Cinderella’s Royal Table If character meals aren’t your thing, or you just don’t want to do a character meal every day, then you’ll really want to crunch the numbers. Pick restaurants that are a bit higher in price, but also know that several other restaurants also require TWO table-service credits, including Be Our Guest Restaurant at Magic Kingdom and Fine/Signature Dining Restaurants. If you’re unsure how many credits you need at a restaurant, you can look on the restaurant’s website to check. Be Our Guest ballroom The Disney Dining Plan currently costs about $98 for adults (10+ years) per person per night of your stay. If you assume $10 or less for a snack and $25 for a quick-service meal, then you’ll want to find somewhere that’s around $60 per person for your table-service restaurant, including dessert and a drink. To really make your money go the distance, you may want to grab an alcoholic beverage with your meal since they’re typically more expensive than a soda and come with the price of your Dining Plan. (You do also get a refillable resort mug with your dining plan to use for the length of your stay, which has a value of $22.99.) Disney just filed a NEW permit for work to be done at the Conservation Station in Disney’s Animal Kingdom! Conservation Station Disney has been on a roll recently with filing a variety of permits, including permits for Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster, the new Indiana Jones ride in Animal Kingdom, the Magic Kingdom expansion, Haunted Mansion, the Imagination Pavilion, Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort, and more. The newest permit was filed by Disney Live Entertainment for work to be done at 1250 E Savannah Circle (the address of the Conservation Station). The permit is to “install a new transformer, disconnect, 200A panel, and 100A relay panel for future addition in EER room.” The work will be performed by Maddox Electric Company LLC, located in Winter Garden, FL. Maddox Electric Company LLC is an electrical contractors that specialize in commercial and industrial construction projects throughout Central Florida. Conservation Station While it doesn’t specifically state that the permit is for work related to the new Bluey Experience coming to the Conservation Station, there are a few hints that suggest it could be. First of all, the permit was prepared by Disney Live Entertainment, which will likely be the department responsible for the new Bluey experience. Also, the address matches the Conservation Station, so the work will be done there. So, it is definitely possible the permit could be related to the arrival of Bluey. Animation Experience at Conservation Station What exactly is the new Bluey experience? So far, Disney has announced that a new Bluey experience is coming to the Conservation Station. Guests will be able to play and dance with Bluey and Bingo. Plus, there will be the opportunity to play games from Bluey episodes, like butterly keepy uppy, and to experience animals native to Bluey’s home country, Australia. ©Disney While Disney hasn’t officially announced the extent to which Bluey will take over the Conservation Station, we have spoken with Cast Members there, and it sounds like most of the current experiences will be closed. Cast Members we spoke to said that the Animation Experience and the Affection Section could be going away for good to make way for this new experience. Again, Disney has not officially confirmed the closure of these other experiences, but based on information from multiple Cast Members, the Conservation Station will undergo significant changes when Bluey comes. A new bill would make it illegal for Florida drivers to hold their phones on the road. Traffic in Disney World The hands-free bill is being revived after the state’s last session, and it would focus on expanding the state’s ban on texting and driving. If the bill is passed, it will take effect on October 1st, 2026. According to FloridaPolitics.com, the bill would make it illegal for drivers to make calls on the road, hold the phone, or even rest it on their laps. The bill, which is titled SB 1152, says “‘Handheld manner’ means holding a wireless communications device in one or both hands or physically supporting the device with any other part of the body.” Traffic Near Magic Kingdom The bill would include anything from cell phones to laptops and even gaming devices under this description. It won’t impact first responders or include small radios or in-vehicle systems. If caught violating the law in a school zone or past construction workers, drivers will receive a $150 fine and 3 points off their license. Haunted Mansion Phone Case If caught again, a second fine will be $250 and 3 more points off their license. A third offense would result in a $500 fine, 4 more points against the license, and a 90-day suspension of their license. The bill first appeared in the 2024 Session, where it passed the House but was never scheduled for the Senate. Driving in Florida During the 2025 Legislative Session, the bill reemerged and passed in the Senate. In reversal of the previous year, the bill was never scheduled for the House. According to the NHTSA, roughly 3,275 lives were lost in 2023 due to distracted driving. Don’t be distracted! The NHTSA describes distracted driving as “any activity that diverts attention from driving, including talking or texting on your phone, eating and drinking, talking to people in your vehicle, fiddling with the stereo, entertainment, or navigation system.” It also clarifies that texting is the most alarming distraction. Be aware when driving The bill currently doesn’t have a House companion. It’s customary to introduce identical bills in both houses simultaneously, which creates what we know to be “companion bills”. They’re almost identical, including titles, except in the resolution and concurrent resolutions, according to the Florida Legislator. They’re similar, and the use of companion bills allows for analysis and deliberation by both houses at the same time. Welcome to Florida This bill is modeled after similar bills from 30 other states, plus Washington, D.C. REMINDER: A Major EPCOT CHANGE Happens Next Week
Disney4me posted a topic in Disney Food/Restaurants
If you’re visiting EPCOT next week, things are about to look very different. Festival of the Arts! In just one week, EPCOT will quietly shift into a whole new vibe as one of its most colorful festivals returns. Even regular visitors may be surprised by how quickly the park transforms, with new sights, flavors, and creative details popping up almost overnight. And we can’t contain our excitement for much longer! If you’re heading to EPCOT soon, consider this your friendly reminder that the park is about to look a little different! EPCOT In just one week, EPCOT International Festival of the Arts will officially kick off, bringing colorful booths, creative details, and a whole new vibe to the park. Even if you’ve visited recently, the start of the festival means you’ll suddenly notice new decor, temporary food studios popping up around World Showcase, and art displays tucked into places that normally feel familiar. Festival of the Arts (2025) Festival of the Arts is one of EPCOT’s most visually striking festivals, and it’s always fun to watch the park transform almost overnight. Walkways fill with vibrant murals, and chalk art begins to appear along your walk towards World Showcase, while festival signage starts to hint at everything there is to explore. It’s a subtle but noticeable shift that longtime EPCOT fans flock to see right away. Nate Baranowski making chalk magic in 2025 Of course, one of the biggest things we’re looking forward to is the food. Festival of the Arts is known for its creative, art-inspired menu items that look almost too good to eat. The festival’s food studios typically feature playful presentations, bold flavors, and unique twists that set them apart from EPCOT’s other festivals, making them a favorite for anyone who’s up for trying something new. ©Disney We’re also excited for the art elements that give this festival its name. From gallery-style displays and artist booths to interactive experiences that let guests participate in the creativity, Festival of the Arts adds an extra layer of discovery to a day at EPCOT. Even just strolling through World Showcase feels more whimsical during this time. Mrs. Potts and Chip So if you’re visiting EPCOT next week or shortly after, don’t be surprised if things look a bit brighter, bolder, and more artistic than usual. Festival of the Arts is almost here — and EPCOT is about to get a fresh splash of creativity. We’ll be covering EVERYTHING there is to see, do, and eat on Festival of the Arts opening day! Sometimes you just have to learn lessons the hard way in Disney World. Disney’s Old Key West Over the years, I’ve made countless mistakes in Disney World — from forgetting to pack a phone charger in my park bag to losing belongings on rides to choosing restaurants that were definitely not right for me. But each time I’ve made a mistake in Disney World, I’ve learned a valuable lesson. And today, I’m here to warn you about a “shortcut” I once tried! If you’ve been to Disney World a few times, you may know that there are quite a few shortcuts hidden around the parks and resorts. These pathways often connect between lands or hotels to shave off a little bit of transportation time, and they can come in handy when navigating the property if you know how to use them. However, some of them are more harmful than they are helpful. Disney’s Saratoga Springs Having the ability to walk from your hotel to the hotel next door is a fun perk — it opens a whole new world of dining and shopping opportunities. But if you’ve ever thought about walking from Saratoga Springs Resort to Old Key West Resort, I’m here to discourage you from taking that path. View from pathways at Saratoga Springs You can travel this way by starting on the Saratoga Springs Nature Path near the hotel’s lobby. It’ll take you past part of the golf course, but when it says “nature” path, it MEANS it. You’ll mostly be walking alongside the woods and getting a glimpse at the edge of the property as you go. It almost feels weird to be walking this way, but I followed the signs and maps to make sure I was on the right track. ©Google Maps From there, you’ll work your way towards Old Key West property and link up with one of the trails heading to the front of the resort. The entire walk takes about half an hour from one hotel to the next, so it’s definitely not the route to travel when you’re in a hurry. And I’ll warn you that it’s fairly easy to get lost! There are a few different paths branching off from this one, and there are golf course walkways to add into the mix as well. ©Disney If it’s a particularly hot or sunny day, the walk can be kind of miserable as well. In general, I’m definitely going to recommend you just hop on the Sassagoula River Boats (there’s a dock near the Saratoga lobby) and take one of those over to Old Key West instead. If you ride the boats, you can also swap between the two main routes and ride to Disney’s Port Orleans Resorts as well. Saratoga Springs Water Taxi So I suppose if you’ve got plenty of free time and energy to do a long walk in the sun, this pathway might be a fun one to know about. It’s not very popular, and it could be a good route for a jog. However, it definitely doesn’t qualify for the title of “shortcut.” There’s nothing short about it! Old Key West For hotels that have a much easier walking path between, try staying at the Polynesian Village Resort and Grand Floridian Resort, the Caribbean Beach Resort and Riviera Resort, or the Pop Century Resort and Art of Animation Resort. The Yacht Club, Beach Club, Swan and Dolphin, and BoardWalk are all within walking distance of each other as well. For the second consecutive year, Universal’s Halloween Horror Nights will kick off in August. In a Universal Orlando news release recapping key dates and events for 2026, the resort said the annual fright fest will be held on select dates between Aug. 28 and Nov. 1. The first time that HHN launched in August was last year. The release did not include ticket pricing, precise dates or theme details about the haunted houses for HHN. Coming soon on Universal’s event guide are Rock the Universe, a Christian-music event, on Jan. 23-24 and Universal Mardi Gras, which runs Feb. 7 – April 1. The resort also plans several Harry Potter-based events, including Butterbeer Season (March 1-May 31), Back to Hogwarts (Aug. 1-Sept. 1) and Dark Arts, which was presented as happening on “select nights this fall.” Universal will observe Passholder Appreciation Days Aug. 15-Sept. 30 and the return of its holiday celebration, again featuring Grinchmas and the Holiday Parade Featuring Macy’s, is scheduled for Nov. 14-Jan. 3. Most events are included with regular theme park admission, although Horror Nights and Rock the Universe are separately ticketed. SeaWorld’s Halloween Spooktacular, a daytime event, will run Aug. 29-Nov. 1, and its after-hours Howl-O-Scream select nights from Sept. 4 and Oct. 31. Dates for Brick or Treat at Legoland Florida and for Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, an extra-ticket event at Magic Kingdom, have not been released. (In 2025, it began on Aug. 15.) Presenting a 2026 wish list for Orlando’s theme parks: There is one hope or dream per park, and the goal is to have them not be too expensive. Disney, Universal and SeaWorld already have their big-ticket to-do lists going, even if they are frequently under wraps. If we’re wishing big, we’d like all those juicy details about impending opening dates and new attractions. Instead, those facts likely will seep out bit by bit into 2027. To keep this exercise out of total-negativity mode, there also are shout-outs for each park for something that brings joy. Epcot • In my mind: I wish the Disney Skyliner onboard spiel would be updated, specifically the part about learning languages around World Showcase. How do you say “as if” in Japanese? • On the bright side: Watching actress Sheryl Lee Ralph, who was at the park serving as a narrator for Candlelight Processional, take two spins on Cosmic Rewind: Guardians of the Galaxy roller coaster, was a double delight, thanks to a Disney-released video. Disney’s Hollywood Studios • In my mind: Closing my eyes and re-imagining the Citizens of Hollywood troupe back on the streets. • On the bright side: Sunset Boulevard has long been a people-watching hotspot. It’s as if a parade might stroll by … or a bunch of Muppet fans. Skipper Canteen restaurant is quietly in its second decade of operation at Magic Kingdom theme park. (Matt Stroshane/Walt Disney Co.) Magic Kingdom • In my mind: Putting my Tomorrowland hat on and imagining driverless vehicles from parking lot to Transportation & Ticket Center or even, gasp, the gates of MK. • On the bright side: The calm atmosphere of Skipper Canteen restaurant, mere steps from the Adventureland bottleneck madness. Dewayne Bevil / Orlando SentinelA kite version of Simba, the lead character in "The Lion King," soars during a performance of "Disney KiteTails" at Disney's Animal Kingdom, one of the former entertainment offerings seen from Discovery River Amphitheater. (Dewayne Bevil/Orlando Sentinel) Disney’s Animal Kingdom • In my mind: Daydreaming about a popular show going into Discovery River Amphitheater, although this breaks the not-too-pricey pledge. • On the bright side: Kevin, the big bird from “Up” and the party atmosphere of the Viva Gaia Street Band reaffirm the value of characters and live entertainment. (Hat tip to Tam Tam Drummers of Harambe, too.) SeaWorld Orlando • In my mind: I wish I understood the parking lot situation, which can be perceived as a free-for-all. (Rarely do I see an employee out there until I’m leaving.) • On the bright side: The Sesame Street Party Parade remains top-notch. Oscar the Grouch greets guests during the Sesame Street Party Parade, which debuted at SeaWorld Orlando in 2019. (Joe Burbank/Orlando Sentinel) 3075270 Universal Studios • In my mind: You can’t miss the construction for the unidentified Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit replacement project. Fingers crossed for details, but not that hopeful since Rockit itself was very noticeably vertical before Universal acknowledged its existence back in 2009. • On the bright side: Watching people wait for the dragon to blow smoke at Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Diagon Alley. Islands of Adventure • In my mind: It would be nice for the Seuss Landing skyline to have the Green Eggs and Ham Cafe’s rotating sign and a completed arch from the Port of Entry side again. • On the bright side: Using the water cannons aboard Me Ship, The Olive to spray unsuspecting riders on Popeye & Bluto’s Bilge-Rat Barges. (This is a free-of-charge experience.) Islands of Adventure visitors take aim at Popeye & Bluto's Bilge-Rat Barges from above aboard Me Ship, The Olive. (Orlando Sentinel file) Epic Universe • In my mind: Oh, for Epic to be a year-round option for annual passholders, add-on or otherwise. (Recycled wish from 2025.) • On the bright side: Watching grown men bob their heads to the Super Nintendo World soundtrack was an early Epic highlight. Super Nintendo World debuted with Epic Universe theme park last year. (Ricardo Ramirez Buxeda/Orlando Sentinel) Email me at dbevil@orlandosentinel.com. BlueSky: @themeparksdb.
