There might be nothing better than taking a refreshing splash in the pool while in the beautiful Florida sunshine. You might be thinking about the four main theme parks at Disney World when you think about your vacation, but you can’t forget about the two water parks available for guests as well. Typhoon Lagoon Disney just announced new dates and details for the two water parks, and we couldn’t be more excited! Usually, only one water park, either Typhoon Lagoon or Blizzard Beach, is open at a time, but having both water parks open at the same time returned for the first time in years for the summer of 2025. We’re happy to announce that from May 26th to September 8th, both parks will be open in 2026. Blizzard Beach If you’re staying at a Disney World hotel from May 26th to September 8th, you can get free tickets to the water parks on the day of your check-in. Everyone added to the room will be able to access the pass, and it’s such a fun way to enjoy the water parks without having to pay for an additional ticket. While we’re sad about the holiday season wrapping up at Disneyland, the return of some regular season fan-favorite offerings has us super excited! ©Disney In early December 2025, Disney revealed a bunch of 2026 Disneyland news — including some tidbits about returning entertainment. As part of the ongoing Disneyland 70th Anniversary Celebration, a popular fireworks show is about to come back after a winter hiatus, and we’re incredibly excited to see it grace the California night sky once more! The Halloween and holiday seasons are often transformative at the Disneyland Resort, and — as such — some of the 70th Anniversary offerings were put on pause while seasonal overlays and offerings took center stage. With the resort gearing up for “normal” operations again, we’re getting some beloved entertainment back — like the Wondrous Journeys fireworks spectacular! Wondrous Journeys This fireworks show was brought back specifically for the 70th Anniversary and features amazing pyrotechnics, projections on Sleeping Beauty Castle and Main Street, U.S.A., songs from our favorite Disney and Pixar movies, and more special effects. The holiday season officially ends on January 7th, 2026, so it makes sense that this 70th Anniversary offering is back at Disneyland Park beginning the next day on January 8th! Wondrous Journeys Similarly, the daytime Celebrate Happy Cavalcade — which features beloved Disney characters (including Duffy and ShellieMay, as well as Mickey and his pals in special anniversary outfits) — is returning to Disneyland on January 9th. Celebrate Happy! Notably, the uber-popular Paint the Night nighttime parade is THANKFULLY also coming back at the end of the month on January 30th! One of Disney’s most famous nighttime parades worldwide, Paint the Night features floats boasting dazzling lights and brilliant characters amid a soundtrack that features fan-favorite Disney tunes remixed to incorporate Owl City and The Jonas Brothers. Paint the Night Parade We must admit, we’ve missed these offerings dearly and can’t wait to experience them again this year! As a reminder, the 70th Anniversary Celebration runs through August 9th, 2026, after which these offerings will likely be shelved once more. Make sure you visit before then if you want to experience them in person! A major change is hitting EPCOT in less than two weeks! The 2026 EPCOT International Festival of the Arts will return on January 16th and run through February 23rd, 2026. This EPCOT Festival made its debut in 2017, and celebrates three artistic disciplines: the Culinary, Visual, and Performing Arts! EPCOT Festival of the Arts! We’ve been keeping an eye out for every update we can get about this year’s festival, and while we’re still waiting for the menus to drop, we did notice a change that could impact the number of Food Studios (or booths) that will be available this year. It looks like Refreshment Port, which typically has a couple of festival items, will be closed for refurbishment during the Festival of the Arts. Refreshment Port, located near the Canada Pavilion at EPCOT, is a quick-service spot that is open throughout the year. However, during festivals, you can typically expect to see some additional eats and drinks available — but it looks like that won’t be the case this year, at least not during the EPCOT Festival of the Arts. Refreshment Port According to the Disney World website, Refreshment Port will be closed for refurbishment beginning on January 12th, just a few days before the Festival of the Arts kicks off on the 16th. This means that we can expect one fewer food location to be an option during this year’s festival. Refreshment Port poutine Not only that, but based on the Disney World calendar, Refreshment Port will still be closed when the EPCOT Flower and Garden Festival begins on March 4th as well. As of now, Disney hasn’t officially announced the closure other than updating its website, so we’re unsure what sort of refurbishment this will be or how long it will actually last. This is definitely something we’ll be keeping an eye on! EPCOT Flower & Garden Festival In 2026, over 20 Food Studios and additional locations will serve enhanced food offerings to Festival of the Arts guests (much like the Marketplace Booths for the EPCOT Food and Wine Festival). The Festival features art-inspired dishes and drinks. Unique to the Festival of the Arts is a focus on the presentation of the dishes. Festival of the Arts There is also a focus on the performing arts, which is where the Disney on Broadway Concert Series comes into play. The Disney on Broadway Concert Series features performances by some of Broadway’s most accomplished actors and actresses singing some of Disney’s most beloved songs at the America Gardens Theatre in The American Adventure pavilion. There is so much to explore at this festival, and we can’t wait until it kicks off! Disney on Broadway Concert Series We’re EPCOT festival experts here at DFB, so we’ll be on the lookout for even more updates you need to know about ahead of this year’s Festival of the Arts and more. In 2025, Disney introduced a new water park perk for hotel guests, which gave each member of their party admission to one of Walt Disney World’s water parks on their check-in day. Blizzard Beach That perk is continuing in 2026 — but only through select dates. Up until now, Disney hadn’t announced the official dates when hotel guests could take advantage of these free tickets, but now we officially know that you can utilize this perk from May 26th through September 8th, 2026. We’ve got all the details below! Disney World debuted a brand-new perk for hotel guests in 2025: free water park tickets to use on your check-in day. This offer was a great way to spend your arrival day, and we are excited that the perk has been extended into 2026. However, a major change is coming to the perk. In 2025, it was available at any time, but in 2026, it will ONLY be available during the summer. Blizzard Beach Disney has officially announced that the 2026 water park ticket perk will be available for hotel guests from May 26th through September 8th — just for the summer months. Blizzard Beach If this is a perk that your family was hoping to take advantage of, make sure you plan accordingly! Don’t forget to pack your swimwear, and you’ll probably want to keep it handy so you can easily access it if you’re looking to catch some waves or spend some time in one of Disney’s water parks. Blizzard Beach Keep in mind, though, that Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon water park will be closing for the season on February 15th so Disney can do some park maintenance and refurbishment. This means that Blizzard Beach will be open beginning on February 15th. Typhoon Lagoon But, Disney recently announced that BOTH water parks will be open during this time period, as part of the Cool Kids’ Summer offerings! Right now, there’s no word on the official reopening date for Typhoon Lagoon, but we’ll let you know as soon as that date is announced. There is one sign that marks the start of the holiday season for me at Disney World, and it’s when I see a silly little purple dragon wearing his blue Christmas sweater. It’s one of those things that only makes sense to Disney Adults, but if you know, you know. FIGMENT!!!!!! Unfortunately, if his sweater marks the start, it can also mark the end. Come along as we say our official goodbyes for the Figment Christmas sweater. First, we had to say hi to Figment on Journey Into Imagination with Figment. You’ll find him all over the ride, but he only wears his sweater in the sound scene (don’t ask why it’s only there, I don’t know). He normally wears a yellow sweater, because I guess it’s chilly in the sound room, and that quarter zip option was back on. I need this sweater Please say farewell to the sweater. Figment’s little holiday sweater Now we must say hi to the big dragon himself. He might be tiny on the ride, but he grows into a hugging size in ImageWorks, which is where you can meet him. Not sure why sometimes he wears clothes and sometimes he doesn’t, but do what you will with that information. He’s SO tall One last goodbye to the Christmas sweater in big dragon size. Figment in his Christmas Sweater Now that I’m a little sad, at least I only have to wait 10 months to see it again. This year, you could buy the sweater along with matching ears to help keep the spirit alive. Figment Holiday Sweater Ears Christmas isn’t entirely over in the parks yet. Festival of the Holidays has ended, but there are still tons of Christmas trees up around the property. It usually goes down after the Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend, which is from January 7th to 11th, so now’s the time to get your final pictures in. Disneyland has some big things coming in 2026! Construction is continuing on some major park expansions, and the park is still celebrating its 70th anniversary. Haunted Mansion in Disneyland The parks always have something exciting going on, even as construction hit the two theme parks. If you’re headed there anytime in January, you need to remember that a popular ride is closing temporarily! It’s a new year, and that means new construction! Disneyland is currently working on quite a few refurbishments, and with that come ride closures. If you’re a fan of the spooky and macabre, there’s one closure that will matter more than others. That’s right, the Haunted Mansion will be closing very soon! Haunted Mansion Holiday Each year, the popular Disney attraction closes around August to transform into the Haunted Mansion Holiday. This is when the ride takes on a Nightmare Before Christmas theme, and it is a VERY popular transformation. Jack Skellington and Sally stick around to delight guests, typically past New Year’s Day. Oogie Boogie! We’ve had a hunch when the ride would close to turn back to normal, and now it’s been formally confirmed! According to Disney’s website, the last day to ride the Haunted Mansion Holiday is January 11th, 2026. Starting on January 12th, 2026, the ride will be closed for Jack, Sally, and their friends to pack up their bags. Jack in Haunted Mansion Holiday It has also been confirmed that the original version of the attraction will reopen on January 23rd, 2026. The retheme will take just shy of two weeks. That’s not too bad! Haunted Mansion in Disneyland This is an annual closure, so we aren’t super surprised by it! This is just one of a few closures we’re seeing this month. The Mark Twain Riverboat is closing for a refurb on January 12th. This is a short closure because you can hit the waters again on January 16th! The timeline indicates this is just routine maintenance. Mark Twain Riverboat Over in Disney California Adventure, Inside Out Emotional Whirlwind closed on January 5th for its refurbishment. It’s scheduled to reopen on January 23rd. Again, just more regular maintenance! Inside Out Emotional Whirlwind Finally, Incredicoaster is also closing on January 5th. This is the longest closure of the four we’ve mentioned. The popular ride doesn’t open until February 6th, so there will be a month without the Incredibles. We’re eager to see how this impacts wait times! The Incredicoaster These closures are all routine, but if you aren’t prepared for them, they can really throw a wrench in your plans. Preplanning can make your trip as magical as possible, but if that feels overwhelming, you can let someone else do it! Small World Vacations has been our long-time trusted travel partner for a good reason! They take the stress out of planning, remind you of important closures, can help you dine at the best restaurants, and they’re services are free to you. This year is shaping up to be a big one for Disneyland, and we’re just at the start. The clock is ticking on a major deadline that could impact your upcoming travel plans. ©DHS.gov The United States Department of Homeland Security previously announced that passengers traveling through airports without a Real ID would be charged a fee of $45, and the deadline for that change is quickly approaching. Travelers who don’t have a Real ID or passport when flying through U.S. airports will be charged a $45 fee beginning on February 1st, 2026. The fee was originally proposed in October, and the initial cost was supposed to be $18; however, it has since increased. ©FLHSMV.gov The added fee is part of the Transportation Security Administration (TSA)’s next phase of the Real ID implementation process, which requires individuals to verify their identity through a biometric or biographic system if they don’t have compliant identification before crossing through a security checkpoint. ©AP TSA deputy executive assistant administrator for security operations, Steve Lorincz, said, “The fee was necessary because we needed to modernize the system. We needed to make sure that the system is safe.” The TSA says the fee will cover the administrative and IT costs associated with the program and ensure it’s covered by travelers — not taxpayers who aren’t flying or using the system. ©Department of Homeland Security If you still don’t have a Real ID and plan to fly after the February 1st deadline, you’ll need to go online at TSA.gov and follow the instructions listed to verify your identity and pay the fees. You’ll then receive an email confirmation to show the TSA officer before you can pass through the checkpoint, which will be valid for ten days. TSA lines at MCO Keep in mind, though, the TSA warns that even with the email confirmation, travelers without a Real ID or passport may not be allowed through the checkpoint. “We still need to go through the process to make sure that we verify who you are. And for whatever reason, if we can’t do that, then you can’t go through the process,” Lorincz said. Alternatively, you can go through the process of obtaining a Real ID at your local Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV). ©Disney We’re travel experts here at DFB, which means we’ll be on the lookout for even more updates you need to know about. This post is for my Type A planners who are already thinking about where they are traveling in 2027! (I know it can’t just be me) (Chloe Rice, Photographer) © Disney Adventures by Disney is a unique way to vacation as a Disney fan, and now we know that one of the most popular trips is getting some changes. That’s right — the Rhine River Cruise is getting some new enhancements AND a new vacation option is available starting in 2027! This trip takes travelers along the Rhine River, which is the second-longest river in Central and Western Europe. When the trip concludes, you’ll have visited Switzerland, Germany, France, and the Netherlands! (Chloe Rice, Photographer) © Disney In 2027, Disney will add several experiences. Firstly, you’ll be able to explore Eguisheim, France — this is the real-life village that helped inspire the setting for Beauty and the Beast! Another new option is a full-day excursion in Lucerne, Switzerland, to admire its Old Town, Glacier Garden, or even take a bike ride to the town of Neuf-Brisach, which houses a UNESCO World Heritage Site with a unique star-shaped design and a triple moat. Because one is not enough! (Kent Phillips, Photographer) © Disney The cruise ends in Amsterdam, and in 2027, you’ll have even more flexibility on what you do there. Whether that’s a scenic canal cruise or a visit to the preserved Dutch village called Zaanse Schans to decorate wooden clogs, Disney is offering these activities in the morning and afternoon for more choices. (Kent Phillips, Photographer) © Disney Not only are there enhancements, but Disney is adding a brand new adventure. Sleeping Beauty fans, you’re gonna want to listen up! The Munich Escape is a three-day/two-night vacation where you’ll explore the heart of Bavaria. Staying steps from Munich’s city center, you’ll venture out to make your own traditional German treats and visit a centuries-old brewery. The best part is that this includes a trip to Neuschwanstein Castle. Any guesses on the significance of this? If you guessed that it was the castle that inspired Sleeping Beauty Castle at Disneyland Resort, you’d be correct! (Chloe Rice, Photographer) © Disney Looking to book an Adventures by Disney trip? We highly recommend reaching out to our friends over at Small World Vacations! They take all the stress out of planning, and their services are totally free. Yep, I said FREE. The theme for Magic Kingdom in 2026 is CHANGE. EVERYTHING is changing in Magic Kingdom. Rivers of America and Tom Sawyer Island are gone FOREVER while Disney builds a new Cars-themed expansion, Piston Peak, in Frontierland. A new Villains land is being built behind Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, which is also currently under construction for some new updates. Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin is even getting updated. Happily Ever After Well, that’s not all, because the ICON of Magic Kingdom is also changing, starting this month. Disney has plans to repaint Cinderella Castle, starting this month, and that’s going to impact some entertainment in the park as of January 28th. While Disney repaints Cinderella Castle, three shows that happen at the Castle will be making some adjustments. That includes the “Let the Magic Begin” welcome show that you can catch when Magic Kingdom opens. That show generally takes place on the stage in front of Cinderella Castle, so it will need to make adjustments while the castle is being repainted. Let The Magic Begin Another show that will have to adjust its performance somewhat is Mickey’s Magical Friendship Faire, which also takes place on the stage in front of the castle. We’re not sure exactly what kind of changes these shows will need to make, but you’ll want to be aware that they might not be the same while the castle is being repainted. Mickey’s Magical Friendship Faire Finally, the biggest and brightest (literally) show in Magic Kingdom will also be adjusted while the castle is being repainted. That would be Happily Ever After, Magic Kingdom’s nighttime fireworks show. Again, Disney has not yet confirmed how this show will change, but it could be a little different if you’re viewing it during that time. Happily Ever After will also change We’ll be checking out these changes on January 28th to let you know what to expect, so be sure to stay tuned to DFB to stay updated. “It’s Going Back to the Way Walt Intended” Disney Fans Are Reacting to the Changes Coming to Cinderella Castle at Magic Kingdom Join the DFB Newsletter to get all the breaking news right in your inbox! Over in Disney World, a Disney Springs bakery closed forever. Sprinkles, a national cupcake bakery chain, permanently closed on January 1st. The Disney Springs location was part of the chain’s national closure which was only formally confirmed on the day of the closure. Sprinkles Cupcakes is closed The hours were removed from Disney’s website, and a Cast Member confirmed it’s permanently closed. This closure surprised many, including employees of the company and even the original creator of the brand, who sold it to a private equity firm in 2012. These sweet cupcakes will be missed! Disney has yet to confirm what will take this location’s place, if anything. You can read everything we know about the closures here! CONFIRMED: Sprinkles Cupcakes in Disney Springs Permanently Closes More closures hit Disney World! Finally, it seems like Disney World wanted even more closures because another attraction will be briefly closing for a refurbishment. Over on their website, Disney confirmed that half of Pete’s Silly Sideshow will be closing for refurbishment on January 4th, 2026. The Astounding Donaldo at Pete’s Silly Sideshow in Magic Kingdom This impacts Goofy and Donald’s side of the meet and greet. On the other side, Minnie Mouse and Daisy Duck will also be unavailable starting January 4th. Previously, Disney shared that the boy’s side of the meet and greet wouldn’t close until January 5th. Disney has yet to confirm when this location will reopen, but they have shared where you can find these 4 friends in the meantime. Minnie Mouse at Pete’s Silly Sideshow The four will still be located in Storybook Circus in Fantasyland, so keep your eyes peeled for some circus performers! Thanks to all of the other construction going on around the parks, we hope that this refurbishment will be relatively short. Here at Disney Food Blog, there are a few things that the entire team agrees on. One of them is how much we love little plastic animals in our drinks at Disney World! The Penguin Club We’ve had rubber ducks, pigs, bunnies, and more, and we’re always on the hunt for more. This time, we’re heading to Disney Springs, where we find most of these special drinks, to try a seasonal drink we just couldn’t miss. At eet by Maneet Chauhan, we grabbed The Penguin Club for $15.95, which has a mix of coconut rum, blue curacao, pineapple juice, and cream of coconut. The Penguin Club LOOK AT THIS ADORABLENESS!!! The penguin is playing a guitar! A guitar! There were a few penguins we could choose from, but this little rockstar penguin stole our heart. We love the drinks at eet, and this one is no exception. It mainly tasted of coconut but had a fun blue color. It was also like a slushy, which was perfect for the penguin. PENGUIN The marshmallows on top were a nice addition and reminded us of the ones in Lucky Charms, where they’re softer on the outside and stiffer on the inside. We loved the crunch and extra texture! We wouldn’t necessarily run out of the house to grab this again because we have more unique drinks, but if you’re looking for a fun option at Disney Springs or are already eating at the restaurant, it’s a great addition to your day. These drinks are usually monthly specials, so make sure you try them out in January if you have your heart set on them. The marshmallows were fun, too We’re always trying new snacks around Disney World, so make sure you keep following Disney Food Blog for more of our favorite treats you won’t want to miss on your vacation. One of the best parts of a new month is seeing what kind of new snacks drop in Disney World. Now, we all know that Gideon’s Bakehouse drops new cookies and cold brews every month, so we couldn’t wait to see what the bakery had in store for January 2026. Gideon’s January drops! Well, we just found out what those new snacks are, and let’s just say we made a beeline to Gideon’s Bakehouse to try them out. So keep reading to see what we think of these new treats! The new Gideon’s Bakehouse menu this month features some banana-flavored items, and if you love bananas, you’ll GO bananas over the Banana Box Pie Cookie for $7. This cookie is made with banana (the fresh and real kind), toffee, and spices, and topped with white chocolate and crunchy candied vanilla wafers. Y’all…this is bananas foster in cookie form because that’s what it tastes like. It’s also one of the more original Gideon’s flavors we’ve had in a while. Banana Box Pie Cookie We tasted a hint of caramel in the cookie, along with the toffee, but the banana and spices are really what makes this baby sing, although you can also get a hint of sea salt with it, too. There’s a nice chewiness to it, as well, that we assume is because of the caramel. It offers the cookie a nice texture. So, yeah, we are SOLD. Excuse us while we go back and get another one. The banana flavor is REAL But first, we also had to try the Banana Nitro Cold Brew for $6.50. This one also has real banana in it, and you can tell. You might wonder if banana goes with coffee, but cold brew is so smooth and sweet that the banana flavor blends perfectly with it. Again, we’re totally getting bananas foster vibes. The cold brew cream at the top is banana-flavored, so be sure to swirl that around in the drink real good. Banana Nitro Cold Brew This is just a well-balanced coffee drink that isn’t overcloyingly banana or sweet. Gideon’s has us craving another one of these, too. But we have an idea…what if Gideon’s mixed this banana cold brew with its amazing peanut butter cold brew? Um…someone let us know if that happens! So if you happen to be in Disney Springs this month, be sure to drop in and try these new treats, especially if you love banana flavors. You won’t be disappointed! One thing you should know about me is that I absolutely love sandwiches. I think they’re one of the best snacks and lunches, and are always there when you need them. When I can’t decide what to eat in Disney World, I’m usually going to grab a sandwich. Deli Sandwich We headed to Hollywood Studios to try out a new deli sandwich, and y’all, we might have found one of the favorite bang-for-your-buck lunches. Over at Ice Cold Hydraulics, which is near the now closed Muppet Courtyard, which is being turned into Monstropolis, we grabbed the Deli Sandwich with Lays Chips and made with capicola, mortadella, salami, sliced provolone, and spicy aioli for $12.79. Good size! This is a pretty solid snack for $12, especially since a bag of chips can cost around $3. It comes pre-wrapped, and while we wish it were a little bit fresher, we enjoyed the low heat from the capicola and spicy aioli and the saltiness from the meats. The spice is very low and doesn’t linger, which we appreciated, and we enjoyed the size of the sandwich as well. We think we could easily share this or eat half and throw the rest in our backpack for later. Look at those layers When we spoke with a Cast Member, they explained that since PizzeRizzo closed (and yes, I’m still sad about it), Backlot Express has been super busy since it’s also a quick service location with familiar dishes. The Cast Member said they’re testing more savory options at Ice Cold Hydraulics to help with crowds and provide more options, and we’re here for it! It’s a new year, which means new hotel perks for both the Disney World and the Disneyland Resorts! Typhoon Lagoon Change is coming to the two U.S.-based Disney theme park resorts in 2026 — and that includes changes to already established hotel perks! With the new year now getting into full swing, it’s an important time to remind you about a few existing hotel perks at both Disney World and Disneyland that will look mighty different in 2026…and maybe not for the better. In 2025, Disney introduced a new water park perk that allowed any guest staying at a Disney World resort hotel FREE ENTRY into Blizzard Beach or Typhoon Lagoon ONLY on check-in day. This perk worked for all registered guests on a Disney hotel reservation year-round, but was criticized for limiting access to check-in day only. Well, the limitations are only growing this year. Summit Plummet at Blizzard Beach Disney revealed last year that starting January 1st, 2026, this perk will now be limited to specific summer dates ONLY. As of this writing, Disney has yet to release the eligible dates, but it’s something we’re monitoring and expecting to be released VERY soon. Typhoon Lagoon I had mentioned the perk’s controversy over limitations already, and this change certainly doesn’t help. With the perk being valid only on check-in day — which is a common travel day where guests are just looking to get to their hotel room and decompress — it makes matters worse that you have to time your arrival to fit the water park’s hours of operation. Now, with this new summer limitation, this is a perk you won’t even receive in the colder months. Blizzard Beach With that said, if you’re still intent on taking advantage of this new summer-exclusive perk in 2026, the following Disney World hotels will grant you eligibility: Bay Lake Tower at Disney’s Contemporary Resort Boulder Ridge Villas at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge The Cabins at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort The Cabins at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort – A Disney Vacation Club Resort The Campsites at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort Copper Creek Villas & Cabins at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort Disney’s All-Star Music Resort Disney’s All-Star Sports Resort Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge Disney’s Animal Kingdom Villas – Jambo House Disney’s Animal Kingdom Villas – Kidani Village Disney’s Art of Animation Resort Disney’s Beach Club Resort Disney’s Beach Club Villas Disney’s BoardWalk Inn Disney’s BoardWalk Villas Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort Disney’s Contemporary Resort Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa Disney’s Old Key West Resort Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort Disney’s Polynesian Villas & Bungalows Disney’s Pop Century Resort Disney’s Port Orleans Resort – French Quarter Disney’s Port Orleans Resort – Riverside Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa Disney’s Wilderness Lodge Disney’s Yacht Club Resort Disney’s Riviera Resort The Villas at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa Blizzard Beach The Disneyland Resort is also having some hotel perk changes kick in — each starting January 5th, 2026. First up is the controversial removal of the Early Entry for Disneyland Resort hotel guests. The Early Entry perk used to let hotel guests staying at Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa, Pixar Place Hotel, and the Disneyland Hotel enter a select theme park 30 minutes before the normal posted park opening time. Disneyland Hotel Hotel guests can now enter the parks early via rope drop, along with other regular guests. Rope drop crowds! However, these hotel guests will have a small leg up in the form of a new complimentary Lightning Lane pass per guest for any Multi Pass eligible attraction per trip. This replacement perk has not been met with fanfare, however, as it is only offered for one use during the entire length of stay, and cannot be used on Single Pass rides Rise of the Resistance at Disneyland and Radiator Springs Racers in Disney California Adventure. To view this pass and book a reservation, you’ll need to follow the appropriate steps in the Disneyland app. Lightning Lane at Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway But that’s not the only bad news coming out of the West Coast. The same day that Early Entry is removed, guests staying at Pixar Place Hotel will LOSE the dedicated park entrance to Disney California Adventure. Pixar Place Hotel This entrance was used exclusively by Pixar Place guests as a shortcut into the heart of Disney California Adventure, bypassing a lot of walking through Downtown Disney and the Disneyland Esplanade. Pixar Place entrance in DCA closed Guests can still use the dedicated Grand Californian entrance to get into California Adventure — which is about half the walk of the regular trek. This entrance is open to all guests via the hotel entrance or the one found in Downtown Disney, and the park entrance from the hotel drops you off right in Grizzly Peak. Grand Californian Hotel Perk changes — both good and bad — are expected to continue at both Disney World and Disneyland as the year continues, so be sure to keep it posted right here at DFB to stay in the know all year long! When you’re headed to Disney World, it’s important to pack everything you need in your bag. That includes the things you may not THINK you’ll need, and then regret immensely when you realize you didn’t think it’d be important. We LOOOVE reusable straws! Now, listen, we totally get that not EVERYTHING marketed as an “essential” actually IS one. We’ve seen it time and time again, and that’s why WE spend money on those, so then we can tell you what’s actually worth it (spoiler alert: there are a LOT out there that we’d never recommend). These six items, though? We’ve tried them all out ourselves and genuinely think they made our trips a lot better — now we want the same thing for you! DISCLOSURE: This post may contain affiliate links, meaning when you click the links and make a purchase, we receive a commission. A Poncho That Actually Works Frogg Toggs Poncho If there’s one thing we love more than getting soaking wet without a poncho, it’s buying a poncho in Disney World for a wild price, then realizing it rips super easily, or makes you feel like you’re a baked potato in a hot oven on a humid summer day in the parks. That’s where the Frogg Toggs Poncho comes in! For me personally, this is the ONLY poncho I will ever use. If I’ve forgotten it on my trip, I immediately regret it when I’m walking around with sopping wet clothes, or hiding inside instead of enjoying my Disney World day. The moment anyone tells me they’re looking for a poncho, this is the one I’ll recommend every time! Check it out here! Never Run Out of Plugs Again Flat Plug Power Strip There’s very little that annoys us more than realizing we don’t have enough outlets in our Disney World hotel room for all our electronics. Or, maybe you’re like me and don’t want to spread out your electronics all over the room, and would instead prefer to keep them in one place. The Flat Plug Power Strip is 100% for you then, and will ease all your worries! Turn one outlet into seven and give yourself peace of mind that everything will charge how it should. Check it out here! A UV Umbrella Will Change it ALL BAODINI Travel Essentials Mini Umbrella Sure, you’ve heard of umbrellas for rain, and they usually work pretty well. Maybe you’ve actually seen regular umbrellas used to keep the sun off of people as well! Again, a very smart idea, but sometimes it doesn’t work super well. We’ve tried the BAODINI Travel Essentials Mini Umbrella on some of the hottest days of the year and are NOT JOKING when we say it drops the temperature underneath it by 5-10 degrees instantly. I was in the park with one of my coworkers who was trying this out, and it was a RELIEF — I wanted to stay under it all day, and plan to grab myself one before summer comes around again (I very much regretted not having one this past year). Check it out here! The MultiCharger for ANYTHING USB MultiCharger for MagicBand+ Don’t be fooled by the name of the MultiCharger for MagicBand+ — yes, it can charge up to four MagicBand+ at one time, but it can ALSO charge anything else that uses a USB charger. That means your phone, watch, camera, and more could all be charged using this one device. It’s another way to help keep all your items contained in one spot, and that means things don’t get lost as easily. Check it out here! Never Use Paper Straws Again A Sunseeke Silicone Straw inside our Frozen Coke! We love that Disney wants to be environmentally friendly and move away from plastic, but those paper straws in the park are truly awful (we’re all thinking it). If you’re someone who doesn’t want to mess with them, bring along a pack of the Sunseeke Silicone Straws to use — they all come with their own carrying cases, making it easy to bring them around the park with you! You can rinse them out at water fountains or in the bathrooms, and then they’re good to go for the next time you need to use them. Check it out here! Single-Use Utensils? No, Thank You Reusable Travel Utensils Set Something else we really love using, especially during EPCOT festivals, is the Reusable Travel Utensils Set! One set comes with four packs (that’s a GREAT deal), and you can easily carry them around with you in the parks with the carrying case they each come in. Again, they’re easy to rinse off before your next use in the park — you’ll never need to worry about finding silverware ever again. Check it out here! We’re constantly on the lookout for the essentials that will ACTUALLY make your Disney World trip easier, so stay tuned to DFB! View the full article

We’re headed to Disney Springs in 2026! Of course, we LOVE the theme parks at Disney World, but do not sleep on the dining and shopping district of the resort. Disney Springs has so many underrated and overlooked gems. So whether you’re planning a non-park day or you’re an Annual Passholder filling a blackout day, you need to visit Disney Springs. Truffle Mushroom Frites While you’re at Disney Springs, you’ll see so many restaurants and snack spots. You likely can’t go wrong with any of them, but we definitely have our favorites. If you have picky eaters, are going out for a date, or need to stick to a budget, we’ve got you covered. Best for Families eet by Maneet Chauhan Mango and Guava Cheesecake! Eet by Maneet Chauhan is a quick-service restaurant that serves up “traditional [Indian] flavor with modern flair.” It’s a hidden gem that the whole family will love. You’ll find remixed takes on favorites like Pimento Whipped Paneer or the Tandoori Chicken Poutine. There’s plenty of seating here, and the food has a cozy home-cooked feel. Spread from eet by Maneet Chauhan While we love eet, it is important to know that if you have a picky eater in the family, you may want to opt for one of the other restaurants in this list. The flavors at eet are Indian-inspired, meaning they have big, bold, and bright flavors that you won’t find anywhere else in Disney World. Summer House on the Lake Summer House on the Lake Summer House on the Lake is great for families because there’s so much here! You can get lunch, dinner, weekend brunch, and on-the-go breakfast. There’s an attached cookie bar bakery, three different bars, and a rosé bar (rosé all day, am I right?). 8th Street Frita Burger The food is California-style with a breezy beach atmosphere. You can grab flavorful salads, sandwiches, pizzas, and more made with garden-fresh ingredients and seasonal Florida ingredients. There’s something here for everyone, even if you’re a picky eater, and it’s all done very well. Earl of Sandwich Earl of Sandwich Earl of Sandwich is not unique to Disney World, but it is a great budget-friendly and family-friendly option. It offers reasonably priced hot sandwiches, wraps, salads, smoothies, lemonade, and prepared “Grab & Go” items. Plus, you can get kid favorites like mac & cheese, tater tots, and grilled cheeses. One of our favorites is the Holiday Turkey Sandwich; it’s pretty much a Thanksgiving meal in a sandwich. DELISH. The Holiday Turkey sandwich Best for Adults Homecomin’ Shine Bar and Social Shine Bar We already LOVE Chef Art Smith’s Homecomin‘, and Homecomin’ Shine Bar and Social is very similar to the main restaurant. However, the Shine Bar is a great place for adults only. We will say, brunch here is our favorite. But you really can’t go wrong dining here any time of the day. Friend Chicken and Doughnuts You can enjoy the fantastic food off the main menu (like juicy and tender fried chicken of your dreams) AND moonshine-based cocktails in the outdoor seating area or on the go. You will also leave dreaming about their Cheddar Cheese Drop Biscuits. Cheddar Cheese Drop Biscuit Jock Lindsey’s Hangar Bar Jock Lindsey’s Hangar Bar Technically, Jock Linsey’s Hangar Bar is family-friendly, but we know adults will love hanging out here, grabbing some eats, and a few specialty drinks. The lounge is based around the oft-trusted pilot for Indiana Jones, and it serves uniquely themed cocktails and tapas – like the Air Pirate’s Cargo Loaded Pretzel, the Snakebite Sliders (“Why did it have to be snakes?”), the vodka-based Reggie’s Revenge Cocktail, and SO MUCH MORE. They also release some of the most incredible themed food and drinks around Halloween and the Holidays. Turkey Egg Rolls If you are visiting around that time, we highly recommend stopping here to check them out. Phantom Dumplings It is important to note that Jock Lindsey’s does not take reservations. Wine Bar George Wine Bar George Wine Bar George is a great place to grab a glass of wine, a bite to eat, and people-watch from the upstairs balcony seating area (there are indoor seating options, too). There are HUNDREDS of wine options, but if you have a hard time picking just one (or two), the servers are trained to help you find the perfect wine for you. Saganaki on Fire — Dinner and a show?! Yes, please! The food here ranges from small plates (like hummus and crispy Mac and cheese bites) to charcuterie boards to family-style plates. You can also get brunch here on Saturdays and Sundays, just be sure to grab a reservation! Crispy Mac & Cheese Bites Best on a Budget The Polite Pig The Polite Pig Get Michelin-recognized Modern Barbecue in a variety of wood-fired smoked and grilled items at a budget-friendly price! The Polite Pig could totally fall under family-friendly favorites, too. Southern Pig Sandwich It has great options for everyone in the family, including a kids’ menu featuring smoked turkey, chicken tenders, and mac & cheese. And for the adults, ALL drinks are served on tap! Morimoto Asia Street Food Morimoto Asia Street Food Spread If the signature restaurant, Morimoto Asia, isn’t in your budget, but you really want to try some of iconic Iron Chef Masaharu Morimoto’s Pan-Asian cuisine, then stop by the quick-service counter, Morimoto Asia Street Food, instead! You’ll find options ranging from $5 to $18, including noodles, sushi, bao, salmon, and skewers. Best for Date Night Splitsville Luxury Lanes Splitsville Looking for a casual date night option? Check out Splitsville Luxury Lanes! You can play several rounds of bowling while dining on upscale pub grub. You’ll find a pineapple Dole Whip pina colada, pizza, burgers, and more here. Frozen Flight Plus, you don’t have to play to dine or dine to play. But when you make the reservation, make sure you clarify exactly what you want to do — play, dine, or both. The Edison The Edison If you’re looking for a place to go on your date night that is less casual but still relaxed and fun, try The Edison! This spot has an industrial-gothic 1920s theme and features a menu with classic American food presented in modern ways. But what really makes The Edison a great date night option is all the fun drinks and events. The PB BB Electric Co. You can get an old-timey soda, a non-alcoholic beverage, or a high roller cocktail and stop by for a cocktail or mixology class with your date. Check out The Edison’s website to find out what events will be hosted in 2026. Best for Brunch Raglan Road All This… And Eggs On Top The Rollicking Raglan Brunch is served up on Saturdays and Sundays. You’ll find menu items such as pancakes, avocado toast, and Eggs Benedict, but they’ll be way elevated (and with witty names that’ll make you chuckle), making them far superior to your local diner. Plus, since the brunch is served on the weekend, you’ll get to enjoy your meal AND river dancing and live Irish music up on the main stage. The BOATHOUSE The BOATHOUSE Consider a nautical-themed brunch with live entertainment for your next brunch experience! The Boathouse hosts the Captain’s Sing-Along Brunch, during which you can sing and request songs from dueling piano players. (Not every room has the piano players, but if you end up in a room without them, you’ll still enjoy light, themed music). Full spread from The BOATHOUSE You can also enjoy tasty brunch items with a nautical twist, such as Crab Cakes Benedict, along with chorizo breakfast tacos, and the Biscoff cookie waffle. Chef Art Smith’s Homecomin’ Homecomin’ Hash! As we previously mentioned, we’re big fans of Homecomin’. It doesn’t have the same live entertainment during brunch as The Boathouse and Raglan Road, but the fantastic, home-cooked food makes up for that. You get to enjoy a limited-time brunch menu with good ol’ southern specialities, like the fried chicken and donuts, short rib hash, and a heaping biscuits and gravy plate. We think you’ll be pleased wherever you go for a bite at Disney Springs, but when you’re headed there in 2026, give these top restaurants a try! We’ve enjoyed LOTS of meals at each of these, and they are hands down some of our favorites.
