Disney adults have been loving Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind ever since it opened! What could make this ride any better? We have a few ideas. Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind There’s no denying that Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind is one of the most popular rides in all of Disney World. For many, it’s a must-do every single EPCOT day. But once you’ve ridden it a handful of times (or, let’s be honest, a LOT of times), you start noticing things. Maybe you have thought, “Okay… what if Disney did this differently?” We can’t promise that Disney will make these happen, but this is us politely asking Disney to consider these improvements! Rule #1: You Should Be Able to Choose Your Own Song One of the most anticipated parts of Cosmic Rewind is the music, but for a ride with such a stacked soundtrack, fans are hoping for a little more control. Imagine choosing your song Rip Ride Rockit–style, formerly at Universal Studios, before boarding, with each ride vehicle playing that track through its own speakers. It would instantly make repeat rides feel brand new, let guests avoid songs they’re not obsessed with, and turn every ride into a personalized experience. Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind Let’s be honest: Disney Adults already rank these songs constantly, so why not lean into it and let fans curate their perfect ride moment? Logistically, we know that this would require Disney to redo the ride vehicles and systems, so is it likely to happen? No. But some fans have worn their own headphones on the ride and chosen a song to rock out to — just be sure they don’t fall out! Cosmic Rewind Loading Area Rule #2: You Should Be Allowed to Skip the Pre-Shows The Cosmic Rewind pre-shows are impressive the first few times. But for guests who ride regularly, hearing the same dialogue over and over can feel less like storytelling and more like a delay between you and the coaster. That’s why Disney Adults are begging for an optional way to skip the pre-shows and head straight to boarding. It would keep first-timers fully immersed while giving repeat riders a faster, more efficient experience. Pre-show of Cosmic Rewind It could also be a great option for visitors who struggle with crowds and tight spaces, because those happen during this part of the queue. We know this could be abused by others who simply want to skip the line and head straight for the coaster. If you do feel overwhelmed by the preshows, just hang back from the crowd and stay to the left, as everyone else will crowd over to the right side to be closer to the doors. What I Wish I Knew Before Riding Guardians of the Galaxy in EPCOT Keep left Rule #3: The Queue Should Be Interactive Cosmic Rewind’s queue is packed with cool displays, hidden details, and futuristic tech, which is exactly why Disney Adults want more to do while waiting. Instead of relying on looped videos alone, fans would love interactive buttons, panels, or touchpoints that respond when you engage with them. Interactive queues have worked wonders on other attractions, and here they would give guests something fun to focus on during long waits while rewarding those who actually stop to explore. If we’re standing in line anyway, we might as well press some buttons, right? Cosmic Rewind Queue Rule #4: Every Great Ride Deserves a Snack at the Exit If there’s one thing DisneyFoodBlog readers know, it’s that no great Disney experience should end without food, and Cosmic Rewind is practically begging for a themed snack stand. “Caketoast,” a throwaway line from Drax in the ride, has already become a fan favorite, and Disney Adults would absolutely line up to try it in real life. Whether it’s caketoast or a full Guardians-inspired snack kiosk, adding food at the exit would extend the experience, boost EPCOT’s already-strong snack game, and give fans one more reason to talk about the ride long after it’s over. Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind These may not be official rules, but that doesn’t stop us from dreaming. There’s nothing like settling into your Disney World hotel room and turning on the TV to watch Disney Resort TV. For some of us, we also remember a program that you could catch on Resort TV, “Must Do Disney.” In fact, the host of that show, Stacy Aswad, became one of our favorite people to watch. Disney Resort TV However, after 15 years, Stacy disappeared from our hotel TVs, and we’ve been thinking about her ever since. However, a new ad for Disney World is bringing Stacy back! For many years, Stacy welcomed Disney guests into their hotel rooms and gave them a run-down of everything that was a “must do” at Disney World from the early 2000s through 2021. So for millennials, Stacy is a big deal, and Disney is counting on that to get more millennials in the parks. We think it might be working because EVERYONE is talking about it on TikTok! ©Disney So be on the lookout for the ad featuring Stacy! Icons are icons for a reason! Mickey Beignets Recently, we took a visit to Port Orleans – French Quarter Resort to once again sample one of Walt Disney World’s best-known and most beloved hotel snacks to see if it still lives up to its reputation. The Scat Cat’s Club – Café is located just outside the Scat Cat’s Club – Lounge (naturally) and upholds the New Orleans-style French Quarter theming that makes up the popular hotel. Scat Cat’s Club – Café The cafe’s menu features alternating seasonal cocktails, bottled beverages, coffees, teas, and the main event — and our focus today — MICKEY-SHAPED BEIGNETS! Yuuuum On our most recent trip, we went with an order of 3 Mickey-shaped Beignets, which cost $7.99 and came with a choice of one dipping sauce, with both caramel and chocolate available. You can also get a double order of 6 Mickey-shaped Beignets along with two sauces for $12.99. Whichever size order you go with — this time, we went with the 3-piece along with the caramel sauce — you’re getting a delicious, fluffy snack. These beignets have a thick, almost doughnut-like texture that puts them much closer to real New Orleans beignets than the more “hollow” variant available at the Magic Kingdom. That’s not to say they’re overtly doughy, though, as the beignets are still pillowy and fluffy. So fluffy in fact that they have a tendency to fall apart as soon as you bite or cut into one, so if you want to immortalize their Mickey shape with a photo, do so before digging in. Delish! Toppings-wise, these beignets are absolutely CAKED in powdered sugar. It’s loaded on top of them, AND they’re sitting on a bed of it. Suffice to say, there is no shortage of a sugar rush if you so choose to indulge. That said, you can knock it off to try and avoid too much sugar intake if you so choose (though let’s be honest, if you’re ordering beignets covered in powdered sugar, you’re likely going all-in). The sauce adds a nice flavor bump, and the way it’s served on the side makes it easy to distribute it as one sees fit: You can drown the beignet in it, you can lightly drizzle it, you can dip each bite, etc. Look at that caramel So, did the beignets live up to the hype? As usual AB-SO-LU-TELY! They’re classic for a reason, and if you’re a fan, absolutely worth making a trip to Port Orleans, even if you’re not staying there. Stay tuned to DFB for more deep dives on Disney’s iconic snacks. Disney World is changing a lot in 2026. Magic Kingdom is expanding, Animal Kingdom is closing a popular land, and Hollywood Studios is developing 2 new areas. Blizzard Beach With all of these changes come a lot of closures and construction, which can make navigating the parks feel overwhelming and difficult at times. A lot of these changes can make things temporarily harder, but Disney just made it easier to visit two of their parks in 2026. In case you missed it, Disney is bringing back its $89 season pass! This seasonal pass gives you access to Disney World’s water parks for a limited time throughout the year. This is a great option for locals who love getting out of the house but don’t want to splurge on a full annual pass. It can also be a nice option for anyone who loves to swim and splash as often as possible. Blizzard Beach Disney has two water parks that alternate openings. This pass will give you access to Blizzard Beach and Typhoon Lagoon while it’s active. You can buy it now if you’re brave enough to hop in those icy waters. (Yes, Florida does sometimes get cold!) The passes will feature blackout dates from March 28th, 2026, until April 5th, 2026. Pineapple Upside-down Cone at Typhoon Lagoon The passes cost $89 per adult and $83 per kiddo, and they’re valid until May 9th, 2026. Don’t wait on this one, though, it’s a walk-up deal only, so when they’re gone — they’re gone! Disney Water Park Cabana Seating You can also get a free round of mini golf at either Winter Summerland Miniature Golf, Fantasia Gardens, or Fairways Miniature Golf when you visit before 4 PM, thanks to that little pass. Now this is only one round of golf included in your pass over the season, but we’ll take what we can get! Winter Summerland Mini Golf Right now, Typhoon Lagoon is open and isn’t closing for the season until February 14th, 2026. After that, Blizzard Beach will reopen on February 15, 2026. Luckily, that means you won’t even miss a day of swimming if you don’t want to. Blizzard Beach If this feels like a lot to keep up with, don’t be too stressed out! Disney’s Avatar: Fire and Ash is heating up the box office right now at movie theaters across the world. ©Disney The third installment in the Avatar franchise, the film picks up a year after the events of Avatar: The Way of Water, with Jake and Sally as they work through grief and face new threats to their idyllic life on Pandora. Although the movie is playing in theaters now, we think we know when you’ll be able to watch it on streaming on Disney+. So we’re going to look at previous movies to figure out when Avatar: Fire and Ash should make it to Disney+. Note that Disney has not yet confirmed a streaming release date, though. The most recent movie release to get a premiere date on Disney+ is TRON: Ares. This movie was released in theaters on October 10th, 2025. It will land on Disney+ on January 7th, a little over three months from its film release date. ©Disney The Disney film that arrived before that was Freakier Friday, which arrived in theaters on August 8th, 2025. It made its way to Disney+ on November 12th, 2025. If you do the math, that is once more, a three-month window between the movie’s premiere date in theaters and its premiere on Disney+. ©Disney Let’s take a look at Disney’s most recent Marvel movie release, The Fantastic Four: First Steps, which arrived in theaters on July 25th, 2025. That movie made its Disney+ premiere on November 5th, 2025. Again, the math gives us a three-month release window. ©Marvel So if we do the math for the release of Avatar: Fire and Ash on Disney+, we can figure out when it will be on the streaming site. Avatar: Fire and Ash was released in theaters on December 19th, 2025. That means it will probably make its way to Disney+ on or around March 19th, 2025, if Disney keeps to its regular movie release-to-streaming timeline. ©Disney So we’ll be keeping an eye out for an official announcement from Disney about Avatar: Fire and Ash and let you know when the streaming release date is confirmed. Until then, stay tuned to DFB for more Disney news. Everything NEW Coming to Disney+ in January 2026 Join the DFB Newsletter to get all the breaking news right in your inbox! Click here to Subscribe! I’ve spent decades souvenir hunting and visiting every store in Disney World, and if there’s one thing I’ve learned, it’s that there are hacks hundreds of guests are likely not using. The Emporium in Magic Kingdom When you’re on vacation, you want to bring home a piece of the magic with you, but it can feel overwhelming. Between impulse buys, crowded stores, and waiting until the last minute, it’s easy to overspend and still leave wishing you’d bought something better. As someone who has been inside every single store at Disney World and also was a merchandise Cast Member, here are my top hacks for shopping for souvenirs! 1. Don’t Skip the Resort-Only Merchandise Many guests never realize that some of Disney World’s best merchandise isn’t inside the parks at all. Resort gift shops often carry items you won’t find anywhere else, including apparel, home goods, and resort-branded souvenirs that feel more exclusive. Shopping at resorts is also calmer and less crowded, making it easier to browse thoughtfully instead of grabbing something in a rush. I love collecting a souvenir from each resort that I stay in, whether it’s an ornament or a resort-themed pair of Minnie ears; it helps me remember my stay there! BouTiki 2. Don’t Buy Items First Thing in the Day Buying souvenirs early in the day is one of the most common shopping mistakes. Morning purchases often turn into all-day baggage, and impulse buys made before you’ve seen what else is available can lead to regret. Many items are sold in multiple locations across the parks, so there’s rarely a need to grab something immediately. Taking note of what you like and circling back later in the day allows you to shop more intentionally and enjoy your day hands-free. If you do want to buy something but don’t want to carry it around, Disney does offer lockers at the front of each park that you can rent for a fee. The Emporium 3. Don’t Wait Until the End of Your Trip to Buy Everything While waiting until the last day might sound smart, it can backfire quickly. Popular items sell out, certain designs are location-specific, and end-of-trip shopping often feels rushed and stressful. A better strategy is to buy items when you find something you truly love, especially if it’s unique to that park or store (and if you see that there are only a few left), rather than assuming it will still be there later. Strategic, spaced-out shopping leads to better souvenirs and fewer disappointments. Disney’s Hollywood Studios Stores 4. Use Mobile Checkout Whenever Possible Mobile checkout is one of Disney World’s most underrated shopping tools. Available in many larger stores, it allows guests to scan items, pay through the My Disney Experience app, and skip the traditional checkout line entirely. This can save significant time, especially during peak hours or at popular locations like World of Disney. If you know you want an item and just need to grab it quickly, mobile checkout makes souvenir shopping far more efficient. I love using it as a price checker tool as well for items that don’t have a price on the tag. Mobile Checkout at Creations Shop in EPCOT 5. Shipping Items Home Is Worth It Disney offers the option to ship purchases directly to your home, and for many guests, it’s a game-changer. Shipping eliminates the need to cram fragile or bulky items into luggage and reduces the stress of traveling with souvenirs. This is especially helpful for items like artwork, home décor, or multiple purchases made over several days. While there is a fee, many travelers find the convenience well worth the cost. When you head to check out, let the Cast Member know you are interested in shipping this item home, and they will have you fill out some paperwork. Disney World Stores Raise Shipping Prices Significantly You can get your items mailed directly to your home! 6. EPCOT’s World Showcase Has the Best Stores If you’re looking for souvenirs that don’t scream “theme park,” EPCOT’s World Showcase is the best place to shop. Many pavilions feature items sourced from or inspired by their respective countries, including home goods, snacks, beauty products, and handcrafted pieces. These gifts often feel more authentic and meaningful than standard Disney merchandise and make excellent presents or keepsakes. World Showcase shopping is ideal for guests who want something distinctive and memorable. I love the wide range of items that I can find in Japan’s Mitsukoshi store, and China’s House of Goods store has unique snack flavors to try! Mitsukoshi Department Store We want to help our readers by providing information so you know what might be worth your money, or what you can do to save some on vacation. As 2025 turned the page to 2026, American travelers — including those heading to Walt Disney World — caught a break at the pump. It may be time to drive to Disney World According to AAA, the national average gas price dropped more than 4 cents in the final week of 2025, falling to $2.89. The group says this is the cheapest December at the pump since the end of 2020. AAA credits the prices to crude oil prices remaining low and supplies remaining high, despite an “increase in gasoline demand over the holidays.” These prices were likely welcomed by the RECORD-BREAKING amount of travelers during the Holiday Season. Approximately 109 million Americans traveled by car over the final weeks of 2025, an increase of 2% compared to 2024, with driving being the overwhelming favorite mode of transportation. Traffic in Disney World Despite the Holiday Season ending, gas prices remain low for now, meaning that an early 2026 road trip, like say to the “Most Magical Place on Earth,” during a period where crowds are generally a bit lower (in a comparative sense anyway) might be a wise idea. The hope overall is that 2026 follows the same pattern as 2025, which was a “stable year for the national average with few fluctuations and no sharp spikes.” ©GasBuddy If you do decide to take advantage of these gas prices and take a road trip to Disney World, keep some further tips in mind, including: Keep the GPS ready. Make sure your car is loaded with any essentials you could need, from snacks to automotive fluids. Check up on any road construction or other hindrances that may be on your route. Map out a place to stop for the night if you’re driving in from far enough away. Driving to Disney World Gas prices are down for the moment, which means that road trips — including ones to Walt Disney World — are more in reach for many travelers at the start of 2026. Disney World is FULL of construction right now, that’s for sure, but it’s looking like one of these projects may be reaching completion. Meal from Harambe Market Over in Disney’s Animal Kingdom, Harambe Market closed on October 20th for a months-long refurbishment, and at the time, there was no reopening timeline in sight. Now, that may have changed. Nothing has been announced officially, but according to the Disney World website, it’s looking like this spot could be reopening in March! When Harambe Market closed, the only thing we knew was that it was set to reopen in “early 2026.” Now that it is 2026, Disney hasn’t announced anything officially, but we took a look at their page on the Disney World website and noticed that hours are showing starting March 1st! ©Disney At this time, the menu page also isn’t available, which could mean that it’s being redone if this area is expected to offer new dining options. By the time it reopens (if what’s listed here is correct), DinoLand, U.S.A. will have been closed for just about a month, meaning that all dining locations over in that area of the park will no longer be available for that same amount of time. If you’re heading to EPCOT later this month, be forewarned that one of the park’s most popular rides is going to close for a LONG-AWAITED refurbishment. Who doesn’t love Olaf? On January 26th, EPCOT’s mega-popular Frozen Ever After attraction is set to close for a comparatively quick refurbishment that is scheduled to make major changes to the attraction’s original animatronics. When Frozen Ever After first debuted as the replacement for Maelstrom in 2016, the animatronic figures of Elsa, Anna, and Kristoff featured on the attraction were game-changers. They were the first Disney animatronics to be completely run on electric motors and the first to be manufactured using 3D printing techniques. However, there was one thing about their design that some took issue with: Their faces. Frozen family! See, instead of using traditional sculpting for their heads, the characters’ faces were projected using animation. While some liked this look, seeing it as true to the original animation, others felt the approach was very uncanny valley, giving them a “creepy” bulb-headed look. The … unique heads only became more pronounced over the last decade as more advanced animatronics like those on the Hong Kong and Tokyo Frozen rides have combined the smooth, electronic movements of the Frozen animatronics with remarkable sculpted faces that better capture the characters in three dimensions. ©Disney Frozen Ever After Hong Kong Disneyland In 2025, Disney announced that the Anna, Elsa, and Kristoff animatronics at EPCOT’s Frozen Ever After would be receiving upgrades similar to the highly regarded figures from the Hong Kong version, including sculpted faces that accurately capture the characters’ animated look in three dimensions. Anna and Elsa While Disney has not confirmed an official reopening date for the new and technologically improved Frozen Ever After quite yet, they have given a general February 2026 time for the debut of the new animatronics. Stay tuned to DFB for further updates on this and other Disney World projects. 2 New Things EPCOT World Showcase Desperately Needs Join the DFB Newsletter to get all the breaking news right in your inbox! This is going to be a HUGE year for change in Disney World, including Magic Kingdom. Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin is getting updated, while Big Thunder Mountain Railroad is getting a MASSIVE makeover. Construction has already started on the new Cars expansion in Frontierland, as well as on Villains Land, which will be going behind Big Thunder Mountain Railroad. ©Disney Cinderella Castle will also be changing soon, too: Disney previously announced that it would be getting a brand-new color scheme and that painting would begin soon, as in this month. That’s right. If you’re visiting Magic Kingdom this month, you may be faced with some construction walls, scrims, and other things around Cinderella Castle while it gets repainted. This means that your Cinderella Castle photos might be a little different until the new paint job is complete. The current color scheme Once completed, though, Cinderella Castle will revert to its more blue and silver look, and it looks like all the pink tones will be completely gone (those colors were added just before Disney World’s big 50th Anniversary Celebration). The good news is that Disney has shared that the scaffolding will be lowered by noon each day, so you’ll still have the chance to get some good castle pictures on your trip! If you’re curious how Disney repaints such a massive structure, we got a little insight back when it was painted to its current color scheme. Believe it or not, it’s a paint-by-number situation in that Disney assigns different numbers to the “bricks” of the castle so it knows which colors go where. Here’s a close-up of those numbers and how they were used when the castle was previously painted. Cool, right? Paint-By-Number Castle As far as how long the painting will take, well, we have no idea. Much of the previous painting job was done when Disney World closed in 2020. However, we don’t anticipate any such closures this year, which could mean the process will take a little more time. We’ll be keeping an eye on the castle while it’s being painted, though, so be sure to follow us for updates. “Good. It Was Awful and NOT Her Castle.” Disney Fans Have THOUGHTS on Big Magic Kingdom News Join the DFB Newsletter to get all the breaking news right in your inbox! Click here to Subscribe! In just one month, it’ll be time to officially say goodbye to one of our favorite parts of Animal Kingdom. Dinosaur This land began closing in early 2025 to make way for the new Tropical Americas land, but we got to experience our beloved Dinosaur attraction for another year. However, that time has come to an end — this is your reminder that in just ONE month, the rest of DinoLand, U.S.A. will close forever. On February 2nd, DINOSAUR, The Dino Institute Shop, Restaurantosaurus, and Restaurantosaurus Lounge will officially close, making February 1st the final day to experience each of these. Are you ready to ride it one more time? Work has already begun on the new Tropical Americas: Pueblo Esperanza land in the area formerly occupied by DinoRama, and it’s been great to see the recent progress! There she is! This new land will highlight the Tropical Americas through the stories of Encanto and Indiana Jones. It will feature classic Spanish-style architecture with a large hacienda that will become one of the largest quick-service restaurants in Disney World. We’ll get to see the rich, lush color and biodiversity of the Tropical Rainforest, and at the center of the land will be a large fountain where stories will be told by gathering villagers. Imagineers are taking inspiration from some of the most biodiverse areas on the planet, including, but not limited to, the northern part of South America, stretching up into Central America. ©Disney || Tropical Americas Land coming to Animal Kingdom There are to be three new rides in this land — an Encanto ride featuring the Madrigal family, a new Indiana Jones adventure ride, and a carousel. Hollywood Studios is going through some major changes! The theme park is adding two new lands and retheming one of its most popular attractions. Hi Ariel! Throughout these changes, we’ve seen a lot of construction walls, and some familiar faces even had to move locations. Luckily for us, Ariel is swimming back to her original meet and greet spot! Ariel from the Live Action Little Mermaid is returning to her home in the Animation Courtyard. The popular meet and greet was moved for a limited time to Echo Lake, where she met guests outdoors near the Indiana Jones Stunt Spectacular. She’s in Echo Lake! Disney had shared online that this change was temporary, but we weren’t sure when she would be moving back home until now! On Disney’s website, we noticed that Ariel’s meet and greet location at Walt Disney Presents is showing times again for January 12th, 2026. ©Disney Disney didn’t clarify why the change occurred, but we had a few guesses. Animation Courtyard is currently undergoing a complete transformation to become The Walt Disney Studios, inspired by the film studios in Burbank. The new area of the park will include “The Magic of Disney Animation,” which is inspired by Walt Disney Animation Studios and the Roy E. Disney Animation Building. The new building will even see characters come to life to take over the studio, which we can’t wait to experience. ©Disney They’re also adding a new playground inspired by Alice in Wonderland, and they’re updating the Disney Jr. show in the area as well. It’s very possible that demolition and construction could have impacted the meet and greet area and exit. Ariel will still be located near 50’s Prime Time restaurant until the switch on the 12th. Live-Action Ariel Meet-And-Greet in Walt Disney Presents Until the switch, her meet and greet location is outside, which can be impacted by weather, so be sure to check the My Disney Experience App for location changes and times throughout your trip. According to the app, you can find Ariel at 11:30 AM, 1:30 PM, and 2:45 PM throughout the day. Remember, this is subject to change daily, so always triple-check times. Look at the twirl. This is the only spot where you can meet the live-action Ariel in Disney World. If you’re looking for the cartoon version of the beloved mermaid, you can say hello to her over in Magic Kingdom! We’re eager to see if Ariel’s meet and greet at Walt Disney Presents changed at all. Be sure to keep following DisneyFoodBlog for more Disney updates, changes, and more. Happy New Year, DFB friends! We hope the year is treating you well, and we know you’re gearing up for some pretty awesome Disney things that are coming in 2026, including a TON of new shows and movies that the year will bring to Disney+. ©Disney One of those new shows is a new Marvel series, Wonder Man, and Marvel just dropped a new trailer that looks like a lot of fun. Even better? Wonder Man will debut THIS MONTH. So if you’ve been needing a Marvel fix, you’ll be able to satisfy it sooner than you thought. That’s right. You’ll be able to watch Marvel’s Wonder Man on January 27th! Marvel just dropped a new trailer for the series, and we have to admit it looks like it’s going to be a lot of fun. Marvel is certainly leaning more into the comedy for this one, and we are here for it. Wonder Man stars Emmy award-winning actor Yahya Abdul-Mateen II in the title role, as well as Ben Kingsley, who is reprising his role as Trevor Slattery (a character seen most recently seen in Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings). Wonder Man follows aspiring actor Simon Willions, who has gained superpowers. The series will show how he navigates the whole “Hollywood thing” while also dealing with his family, rivals, and his new powers. Of course, what’s an actor without a mentor? That’s where Trevor comes into play. The two have a chance meeting that leads Simon to a new opportunity with a legendary director, Von Kovak, who is remaking a superhero movie, aptly titled Wonder Man. You can probably get hilarious behind-the-scenes looks at and commentary on the entertainment industry as a whole. It should be a lot of fun, and I, personally, have started preferring Marvel’s TV shows to its recent slate of movies. So mark those calendars and get ready for the debut of Wonder Man! We’ll keep you updated on all Disney news, too, so be sure to keep following us for more. Happy New Year! If you were able to ring in the New Year at Disney World, we have a warning for you if you are heading back home in the next couple of days. The Orlando International Airport (MCO) is going to be BUSY. The busiest days during the New Year travel period are upon us, and we have some tips if you are traveling through the Orlando International Airport soon. Orlando International Airport The busiest travel days for New Year travel are: January 3rd (196,212 travelers), January 4th (195,960 travelers), and January 2nd (191,324 travelers). If you are heading home in the next three days, be prepared for lots of fellow travelers to be right there with you! It is a popular time of year for traveling; kids are out of school, and many businesses are closed for the holidays. If you are anything like us, that means it is the perfect time for a Disney World trip. Obviously, lots of other people are also thinking the same thing! Orlando International Airport is entering a busy travel period, and we have some tips to help make your trip home as smooth as possible! Even if you aren’t traveling during the busiest times, these are still great tips for your trip! Book Your Transportation Ahead of Time The first step in your journey home is making sure you can actually make it to the airport. Make sure you know how you’ll get there! Whether you drive there with your rental car, pre-book a rideshare service, or book a shared shuttle service like Mears Connect, make sure you have a plan. Mears Connect There will be lots of other people also trying to make it to the airport, so if possible, pre-booking your transportation is the way to go! Arrive Early Currently, Orlando International Airport recommends arriving at least THREE hours before your scheduled departure time, but it is also important to check with your specific airline for its recommended arrival time. You will want to make sure you have plenty of time to return your rental car, check your luggage, go through security, and reach your gate. MCO Airport While it can be tempting to squeeze every minute of your vacation, arriving at the airport extra early will help prevent a stressful situation if lines are long. It is always better to have some extra time to grab a bite to eat or just relax at your gate, rather than feeling rushed and worried about missing your flight. Use MCO Reserve If you don’t have CLEAR or TSA Pre-Check, consider taking advantage of MCO Reserve. This is a FREE service that can help you get through security faster. You can reserve your MCO Reserve time in advance, and when you arrive at the airport, you will be able to access a dedicated MCO Reserve lane during your reserved time window. ©Orlando International Airport You can book your time slot up to 7 days in advance, and screening times are available for flights departing between 6:30 AM and 8:30 PM. This service can help you get through security faster, but you will still want to make sure you arrive at the airport with plenty of time! Download the MCO App and your Airline’s App There’s an app for that! We are huge fans of the MCO app, and it can provide you with lots of information for your trip. You can view wait times for security, check parking availability, find out about shopping and dining, and there is a map of each terminal. We highly recommend downloading it, along with your airline’s app. Your airline’s app can provide crucial details about your flight status and any updates you need to know. We want you to have all the information you need right at your fingertips! ©Orlando International Airport We know it can feel overwhelming traveling during busy times, but being prepared, arriving early, and having extra patience will go a long way. We are here to make sure you have the best Disney World vacation! Stay tuned to DFB for more Disney World tips, tricks, and news. First-time visitors often race to the biggest rides in Magic Kingdom, but in doing so, they could be missing some of the park’s most underrated attractions! Magic Kingdom When you’re planning your first day at Disney World’s opening day park, it’s easy to focus on the headliners with the longest wait times or the most hype online. But that can lead you to overlooking classic rides that offer air conditioning, shorter lines, and charm. These are the kinds of attractions that don’t always make the “must-do” lists, but end up being guest favorites once experienced. 1. Tomorrowland Transit Authority PeopleMover The PeopleMover is one of those attractions that first-timers often walk right past. Either because it’s tucked away in Tomorrowland or because they assume it’s “just a slow ride.” But this elevated cruise is actually one of the best ways to take a break while still seeing the park, offering fantastic views of Tomorrowland and even sneak peeks inside attractions like Space Mountain. It’s a relaxing, continuously loading ride with, at times, short waits. Making it a great stop when the crowds start to feel overwhelming, and your feet need a break! PeopleMover — a must-do! 2. Dumbo the Flying Elephant If you’re visiting without little kids, Dumbo is an easy one to skip. After all, it looks like a classic kid ride, but this is one of Magic Kingdom’s most iconic attractions. Flying high above Fantasyland is just as magical for adults as it is for kids. Plus, the indoor queue (that has an air-conditioned play area) and the double-sided ride system help keep waits moving. It’s a feel-good experience that’s worth making time for. If you’re like me, the kid inside of you will be grinning ear to ear! EVERY Magic Kingdom Ride and Attraction — 2025 Guide Dumbo the Flying Elephant 3. Walt Disney’s Carousel of Progress Many first-timers skip Carousel of Progress simply because they don’t know what it is, or they worry about committing 20 minutes to a show-style attraction. But this rotating theater is a piece of Disney history created by Walt Disney himself, and it’s one of the best places in the park to cool off, sit down, and enjoy some classic storytelling. Even better? Updates are coming to the attraction, giving longtime fans and first-time guests alike a reason to experience it now before the changes take effect. Soon, the Carousel of Progress in Magic Kingdom will be updated with an animatronic figure of Walt Disney himself! ©Disney 4. Under the Sea – Journey of the Little Mermaid This attraction is surprisingly easy to miss, thanks to its tucked-away location in Fantasyland. Hidden between Gaston’s Tavern and Storybook Circus, it can be easy to miss if you don’t know your way around the park just yet. Journey of the Little Mermaid is a charming, colorful dark ride with animatronics, music from the film, and usually manageable wait times. It’s a great option when nearby rides have long lines, and it offers a relaxing experience that first-timers often wish they hadn’t skipped. I’ve Tried Every Ride Hack in Magic Kingdom, And I’m Sharing the 3 That Work Every Time Under the Sea – Journey of the Little Mermaid Honorable Mention: Enchanted Tales with Belle While it’s technically a show, Enchanted Tales with Belle deserves a mention because many guests skip it without realizing how interactive and special it is. The details, impressive effects, and personalized storytelling make it such a fun and unique experience. It’s a great way to slow down and enjoy some immersive Disney magic without a massive time commitment. Enchanted Tales with Belle Whether it’s your first visit or your fiftieth, Magic Kingdom has plenty of hidden gems that are easy to miss if you don’t know where to look. Before your next visit, make sure to check DisneyFoodBlog for the latest ride updates, tips, and insider tricks to help you make the most of your Disney vacation.
