The 2018 Wine and Dine Half Marathon wrapped up this past weekend and now we have exciting news to share – the dates for the 2019 Wine and Dine Half Marathon weekend have been released! Epcot Wine and Dine Half Marathon finish line ©Disney The dates for the race weekend are October 31 – November 3, 2019! You can celebrate Halloween AND run the race on the same weekend! We expect the 2019 Wine and Dine Half Marathon Weekend to include the half marathon, Wine & Dine 10K, Fall Feast 5K, Two Course Challenge, and the Kids Races. Hungry Bear Restaurant New offerings include the delicious-sounding BBQ Chicken Salad that consists of Pulled BBQ Chicken, Cherry Tomatoes, Bacon, Green Onion, Cheese, Red Cabbage, and BBQ Vinaigrette served with Flatbread. And we are thoroughly intrigued by Messy Melvin’s Vegan Specialty Burger — a Vegan Patty and Stewed Vegetables served with French Fries or House Slaw. Hollywood Studios is a busy park these days! In addition to the Skyliner coming in 2019, there also is work on the Chinese Theater’s new ride and Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge both coming in 2019. PLUS Christmas has arrived — we’ve got Santa Alien Popcorn Buckets, a decorated Toy Story Land, and so much more! Plus Plus (haha!), the Flurry of Fun holiday events start this week! Check out everything we found! Share Your Ears Wall at Hollywood Studios There’s a #ShareYourEars wall in Hollywood Studios. Snap your picture and post it with the #ShareYourEars hashtag and Disney will donate to Make a Wish Foundation. You’ll find this wall in Animation Courtyard on the way to Toy Story Land. There’s also a #ShareYourEars wall in Magic Kingdom by the Purple Wall. We anticipate seeing walls in Animal Kingdom and Epcot as well. Santa Alien and Pluto Popcorn Buckets Arrive in Hollywood Studios! OMG! We found a Santa Alien popcorn bucket in Hollywood Studios!!! Look at this guy! The area to the right of the Chinese Theater is now complete and they are still working on the area to the left of the Theater. Chinese Theater Construction A new ride, Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway, is coming to the Chinese Theater in 2019. The Theater had construction walls and scaffolding up around it until this past weekend. Now the walls and scaffolding are gone! The timing is perfect since the Jingle Bell, Jingle BAM show is projected on the Theater and the dessert party for the show has been held in the Theater courtyard in the past. Hollywood Studios’ Chinese Theater Construction Progress Adrian and Edith’s Reopens — with new Merchandise and Decor Adrian and Edith’s Embroidery Shop closed for refurbishment in September. Before the closing it was home to all sorts of Mickey and Minnie Ears and Hats as well as embroidery services for the ears and hats. Now it has reopened as a food merchandise shop. Maybe this is a replacement for Sweet Spells?? An abundance of pre-packaged Goofy’s Candy Co. sweets and Holiday treats are in the store now. Plus, the retro movie posters have been replaced with new decor making us a little sad. Take a look at all of the photos of the new space and merchandise here. With the debut of Toy Story Land earlier this year and the opening of Star Wars land scheduled for late 2019, Disney’s Hollywood Studios has been in a constant state of evolution. This week, the construction walls in front of the Chinese Theater came down, a new car entrance is scheduled to open, the park is getting ready for the holidays, and we spotted even more changes in the shops on Hollywood Boulevard! Adrian and Edith’s Adrian and Edith’s Head to Toe, the shop that was once stocked with ear hats, headbands, and an embroidery booth, has reopened after a refurbishment! Instead of hats and headbands, though, it’s now home to snacks and other merchandise. Maybe a replacement for Sweet Spells…? Adrian and Edith’s Head to Toe Connected to the Celebrity 5 and 10 shop, Adrian and Edith’s Head to Toe is located on Hollywood Boulevard near the park’s entrance. Adrian and Edith’s Head to Toe You might not recognize Adrian and Edith’s Head to Toe by name, but chances are you’ll recall their old Hollywood-style window display. Adrian and Edith’s The spacious shop now allows plenty of room for ALL OF THE SNACKS. (We spy goodies from Chip & Dale Snack Company!) Adrian and Edith’s Behold! An entire wall of sweets from Disney Chocolate Favorites, Minnie’s Bake Shop, and Goofy’s Candy Company. Adrian and Edith’s Holiday Mickey krispies, hot chocolate sets, cookies, gingerbread popcorn, and Countdown to Christmas Calendars are here, too! Wonderland Slush at the Cheshire Cafe This new frozen drink debuted today at the Magic Kingdom and we had to stop by to check it out! The Wonderland Slush is made with Minute Maid Raspberry Lemonade and Fanta Grape (both frozen, of course), and it’s served with a hard strawberry candy straw. Check out the candy-coated straw! The drink itself is sweet but not too sweet — if you’re a fan of grape soda you’re going to enjoy it! The straw is also delicious. But, a word of warning: it’s a paper straw coated with candy that you’re gonna want to eat — and the straw does get soggy! We suggest eating the candy last if you want to use the straw! If you’re planning a trip to Walt Disney World Resort around Thanksgiving and love college basketball, then you’ve struck gold. As you plan your visits to Toy Story Land at Disney’s Hollywood Studios or Pandora – The World of Avatar at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, you can also add a college hoops game or two to your vacation, because the AdvoCare Invitational will be underway at ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex. The tournament runs Nov. 22-25 and includes a loaded field lauded by college basketball experts as one of the most competitive preseason tournaments in the nation this year. Three of the eight teams in the AdvoCare Invitational are ranked in preseason top-25 polls – Florida State, LSU and 2018 NCAA National Champion Villanova. Alabama-Birmingham, Canisius College, College of Charleston, Memphis and Oklahoma State round out the field. For more than 50 years, Disney Ambassadors have served as emissaries of goodwill for the Disney destinations they represent. Walt Disney, himself, created the program in 1965, naming the inaugural Disney Ambassador, Julie Reihm, who helped him by making appearances, giving speeches, escorting dignitaries and more. Julie’s role set the standard for future decades of the Disney Ambassador program, which has grown to include a whole new world of Disney properties, including six resorts and Aulani, a Disney Resort & Spa.
