Andy’s backyard is ALL DECKED OUT in decorations for the annual holiday celebration in Disney World’s Hollywood Studios: the Flurry of Fun!! Toy Story Land for the Holidays! As the newest addition to Hollywood Studios, Toy Story Land is new to all the festive fun of the FLURRY! We’re checking out the event’s food as it starts to arrive on the scene today, but we couldn’t resist give you a special look at all the Land’s decorations, including the characters in their holiday best! Woody Woody is dressing up in his Christmas vest and topping his cowboy hat with a sprig of mistletoe. A large candy cane completes the look! Woody Jessie is “dolled up” in her peppermint candy vest, too! Jessie Jessie And Buzz is ready for the holidays… AND BEYOND!!! Buzz Lightyear As we all shrink down to the size of TOYS once we enter Toy Story Land, the decorations are likewise larger than (regular, non-toy ) life! Guests visiting Disney’s Hollywood Studios this morning are in for a holiday treat: the first sights of the holiday season have just arrived in Toy Story Land! Toy Story Land, which opened at the park earlier in 2018, allows guests to explore the fun and adventure of Andy’s backyard at Slinky Dog Dash, Alien Swirling Saucers and Toy Story Mania! And as of this morning, this joyfully toy-strewn land is officially set for the season, with new holiday decor that includes oversized cranberry-and-popcorn garland, an oversized Hamm sugar cookie, Green Alien ornaments, cardboard antlers on Rex and an Angel Kitty ornament and more. Also starting today, the land’s attractions have been plussed up with new holiday audio and music. We found a turkey cupcake in Animal Kingdom, and now have news of another turkey-themed treat in Disney Springs! The creative folks at Vivoli il Gelato are bringing us a brand new Turkey Sundae! (Sounds strange? Stick with us…) Vivoli il Gelato You’ve got to see this dessert to believe it! It is picture-perfect! The Turkey Sundae is made up of 3 scoops of chocolate gelato with lady fingers serving as the distinctive feathers. What we love most is the chocolate dipped cookie as the face with a candy corn beak! Keep reading for all the WHENS and WHERES for 2018! Hand-Made Candy Canes in Disneyland! If you’re not familiar with this Disneyland tradition, you can learn all about the Disneyland Candy Canes by clicking here! Disneyland Candy Canes 2018 Once again in 2018, the Candy Cane making will alternate between Candy Palace on Main Street U.S.A. in Disneyland and Trolley Treats on Buena Vista Street in Disney California Adventure. The Candy Palace Trolley Treats sign Candy Cane Tips Here’s our annual advice if you’re hoping to snag a Candy Cane: the rules state that guests are not supposed to line up prior to park open. But, we advise trying to line up about 30-45 minutes ahead of park opening anyway… and you likely won’t be alone. Then, proceed immediately to the designated shop upon opening. (Locations are specified by date below.) Wristbands will be distributed upon the shop’s opening. Based on previous years, typically 40 wristbands are distributed per batch with three batches per day, for a total of 120 wristbands. We have received feedback that more than 120 wristbands have been distributed at times, but your mileage may vary. As always, Disney simply states that “wristbands are limited.” One wristband allows the purchase of ONE Candy Cane (with a limit of one wristband per guest), and must be shown at time of purchase. Candy Cane Those with wristbands should go to the Candy Kitchen producing the day’s Candy Canes according to the batch time listed on their wristband. You may pick up your candy cane any time after your batch time, but prior to 4PM. Note that in previous years, if you didn’t pick up your candy cane by 4PM, it would be sold to someone waiting on standby. This is a task that Holiday Services department prepares for – and looks forward to – all year long, when the team magically transforms Magic Kingdom Park from “Halloween” to “holidays” in just one night. Justin Turner, the third baseman for the National League Champion Los Angeles Dodgers, visited Disneyland Resort this weekend. A true hometown hero, Turner was born in Long Beach, Calif. and attended California State University, Fullerton. He was at the Happiest Place On Earth to celebrate the birthday of his wife, Kourtney. The newlyweds were greeted by Mickey Mouse in front of Sleeping Beauty Castle at Disneyland park. That was fast! It was just last week we updated you on the status of what we could see of the construction going on at Hollywood Studios’ Chinese Theater as it becomes home to a new ride! Now, just four short days later, the construction walls are down around the Chinese Theater! Hollywood Studios’ Chinese Theater Construction Progress In 2019 the Chinese Theater will be home to a brand new ride, Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway. We don’t know an exact opening date yet, just sometime in 2019. So what’s different on the Theater? This extra-ticket event takes place for three hours after park close on select nights, and the limited guest access means little-to-no-wait for popular attractions (with event guests allowed to enter the park as early as 7 PM). The Spring Roll Cart in Magic Kingdom’s Adventureland has delivered an unexpected variety of Spring Rolls this year! First, there was the return of the Cheeseburger Spring Rolls.
