UPDATE: The entry period for this event has closed. Please keep an eye on the Disney Parks Blog for future opportunities. This month, guests visiting Disney’s Hollywood Studios in Florida and Disney California Adventure park in California have been able to preview Disney’s new fantasy adventure “The Nutcracker and the Four Realms.” Today, we’re offering the special opportunity to join us for an advanced screening of “The Nutcracker and the Four Realms” film on October 28, 2018 at the AMC Disney Springs 24 theater before it debuts in theaters. The Disney Parks Blog “The Nutcracker and the Four Realms” Meet-Up begins at 11 a.m. ET (doors open at 10:00 a.m.) at AMC Disney Springs 24 at Walt Disney World Resort on Sunday, October 28. During the event, you’ll see a special advance showing of “The Nutcracker and the Four Realms.” Disney’s “The Nutcracker and the Four Realms” showcases the wondrous journey of Clara, who finds herself in a strange and mysterious parallel world, home to a host of eccentric characters and no shortage of surprises. It’s there that Clara encounters a soldier named Phillip, a gang of mice, and the regents who preside over three Realms: Land of Snowflakes, Land of Flowers and Land of Sweets. Clara and Philip must brave the ominous Fourth Realm and its ruling tyrant, Mother Ginger, to return harmony to the unstable world. “The Nutcracker and the Four Realms” comes to U.S. theaters in 3D on November 2, 2018. You can RSVP to join us at the October 28 meet-up right now by clicking here. Only one guest per confirmed registrant is permitted. A limited number of attendees may attend the meet-up, so be one of the first to sign up. First come, first served. Also, here are a few things you should know: All attendees who sign up for the meet-up must be 18 years or older, but guests do not need to be 18 or older. Please arrive early. Seating is first come first seated. No one will be admitted late. “The Nutcracker and the Four Realms” is rated PG. Limit one guest per registrant. We will send an email to individuals whose valid RSVPs are received by us before we reach the planned capacity to confirm their attendance for the meet-up. Mickey’s 90th Birthday Cupcake Topper ©Good Morning America And Disneyland Paris will be presenting a specialty pastry created in partnership with world-renowned French pastry chef Pierre Hermé (according to Disney, Chef Pâtissier Pierre Hermé has been named the “Picasso of Patisserie” by Vogue Magazine). Mickey and Chef Pierre Hermé ©Disney The “Mickey Zest Party” is a play on a classic lemon meringue tart with a Mickey-shaped shortbread base. Lemon filling with preserved lemon zest and pieces of lime-flavored meringue will be complemented by two chocolate circles of dark chocolate and strawberry puree. Mickey Zest Party Dessert ©Disney Guests at Disneyland Paris will be able to find the Mickey Zest Party at Walt’s – An American Restaurant in Disneyland Park and at California Grill in the Disneyland Hotel from November 17th through January 6th. To celebrate 90 years of magic with Mickey Mouse, Disneyland Paris teamed up with world-renowned French pastry chef Pierre Hermé to create a limited-time, one-of-a-kind dessert inspired by the world’s most beloved mouse! Chef Pâtissier Pierre Hermé – named the “Picasso of Patisserie” by Vogue Magazine – worked his culinary magic to create a symphony of citrus and zest that practically sings “Be Our Guest.” Taking inspiration from Mickey’s energy and enthusiasm, Chef Hermé translated those qualities into a tangy yet sweet marriage of fresh, fruity tastes. The result is “Mickey Zest Party,” Chef Hermé’s personal take on the famous lemon meringue tart, with a shortbread base in the shape of Mickey’s iconic ears, a lemon filling with preserved lemon zest and pieces of fluffy lime-flavored meringue finished off with two chocolate circles of dark chocolate and strawberry puree. This practically perfect patisserie will be available at Walt’s – An American Restaurant in Disneyland Park and at California Grill in the Disneyland Hotel from November 17 through January 6. Bon appétit and bravo Chef Hermé! View the full article

Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party returns to Magic Kingdom Park November 8, and this year Sorcerers of the Magic Kingdom fans can pick up a special game card inspired by Walt Disney’s Enchanted Tiki Room on party nights. In case you’re new to the Sorcerers of the Magic Kingdom interactive game, guests can team up with Merlin to help defeat scheming Disney Villains who wish to take over Magic Kingdom Park. Guests locate villain hideouts throughout the park and visit magic portals where they use special spell cards to ward off the villain’s attack. Each spell card stars a different Disney character, each with their own unique powers. The game begins at the Firehouse on Main Street, U.S.A., where you can pick up complimentary spell cards and maps. Additional cards can be purchased at select merchandise locations. According to Imagineer Jonathan Ackley, this year’s party exclusive card was whipped up by Merlin the Magician after he became enchanted with a quartet of caroling birds down in the tropics. “These charismatic avian performers inspired Merlin to create a new charm to give his acolytes for the year’s holiday celebration,” Jonathan said. “The Disney Villains will need to watch out, or they’ll end up with egg on their faces!” View the full article

Back in July, we told you about Animal Kingdom’s newest place to chill out: Restaurantosaurus Lounge. At the time, it was described as undergoing a three month trial period and had limited hours from 5PM to closing. But we loved the concept, particularly as indoor air conditioned places to rest our adventuring feet are always welcome in Walt Disney World’s largest park. Restaurantosaurus Lounge That said, as much as we love the concept, sticking a “lounge” in a corner of a counter service restaurant does not make for a relaxing retreat. We’ll give you our full thoughts at the end of this article, but first — some details… . Originally a part-time project, Restaurantosaurus Lounge appears to be a more permanent fixture. Cast members tell us that the spot, located in one of the Restaurantosaurus dining rooms, is opening earlier in the day now. On the day of our visit, they were ready to open the doors by noon (but that may vary from day to day, until earlier hours are official). Restaurantosaurus Lounge sign and entrance side You can check out the menu and a few drink options before you decide to go in. Restaurantosaurus Lounge Display Once you do enter the space, you’ll find the always-awesome theming of Restaurantosaurus in full effect. In fact, if you’ve been to Restaurantosaurus before, you’ll recognize this as part of the restaurant that’s been closed off for use by Lounge patrons. So take your time to enjoy the details. Restaurantosaurus Lounge The check-in counter is also where you place your order, so things are pretty compact here. But check out the details behind the counter. Oh, and also the bottles of liquor. Those paleontology students look like they know how to throw a party… Restaurantosaurus Lounge The Restaurantosaurus Lounge drinks menu is small. Basic beers like Bud Light and Heineken are available alongside Safari Amber and Old Elephant IPA. A handful of wines are available as well, including a South African option. Restaurantosaurus Lounge Menu Four cocktails and three mocktails are available, along with two snacks: Buffalo Chicken Dip and Sweet-and-Spicy Mixed Nuts. Restaurantosaurus Lounge Menu We wanted to sample that Buffalo Chicken Dip because…Buffalo chicken. But the allure of the cleverly-named cocktails and mocktails was too much, so we tried two of those, too. Restaurantosaurus Lounge Food and Drinks The Teal Rex is a mocktail that’s tart and heavy on the pineapple. In addition to the prominent pineapple juice, the Teal Rex (which is a GORgeous color!) also contains Odwalla lemonade, lemon juice, Sprite, and non-alcoholic blue curacao. Teal Rex We found this to be really refreshing; and since it’s a mocktail, the whole family can enjoy sipping on the Teal Rex. Teal Rex The Carnotaurus Meteoritis (you’ll recognize the dinosaur species from the nearby Dinosaur ride) is a cocktail consisting of bourbon sour from Buffalo Trace Bourbon, lemon juice, strawberry puree, sweet-and-sour, and Sprite. The drink is definitely sour, although there’s a pleasant amount of sweetness from the strawberry puree. Bourbon drinkers will appreciate the liquor in this one, which is strong. Overall, it’s delicious! Carnotaurus Meteoritis The Buffalo Chicken Dip is a massive portion of dip served with an even more massive amount of house-made chips! Essentially, this is a mound of Buffalo chicken chunks, chopped celery, diced tomatoes, creamy buffalo sauce, a ton of blue cheese, and bright green scallions. Buffalo Chicken Dip First, the portion size on this is enormous — way bigger than we were expecting. But the combination of chicken and cheese with the fresh vegetables is well balanced. Buffalo Chicken Dip The chunks of chicken are big as well, and while they’re coated in Buffalo sauce, there’s not much heat to be found. The whole thing is super hearty and filling — even if you share. And we do recommend sharing! Buffalo Chicken Dip One thing of note about the dip is that the bowls are pre-made and stored in a cooler behind the counter. So even though the dip contains some fresh elements, we wouldn’t say that they’re super crisp. And the dip was a little watery, likely due to sitting for a short time. This doesn’t affect the flavor, but it might impact the texture in some cases — I’m SERIOUSLY not a fan of watery Buffalo chicken dip. Buffalo Chicken Dip The huge portion of chips is exactly as you can find in quick service spots all over the World, including resort food courts. But that’s all right by us because we love these things. And they come just as you see them — separate from the dip — so if you’ve got a group with picky eaters, they can enjoy the chips without dip. Buffalo Chicken Dip Chips You might recall the Buffalo Chicken Chips we spotted at Trilo-Bites and Dino-Bite Snacks in the past. The Restaurantosaurus Lounge dip is a much larger, deconstructed version. The chips here aren’t seasoned, and the toppings aren’t quite as vibrant. So, we’re always up for a Walt Disney World lounge, and this one is small but convenient. But the bottom line is…why in the world wouldn’t you just trek a few steps through Discovery Island and go to Nomad Lounge?? Nomad is fantastic — a full bar, great menu, good service, and comfortable seating areas (click here to see a recent Nomad Lounge review). Why would you spend valuable park time in Restaurantosaurus Lounge when you could be at Nomad? It just doesn’t make sense. We’ll keep an eye on things to see how long it sticks around and whether or not they add some additional food items to the menu. For now, be in the know and go to Nomad. $$$ Money Saving Food Hack at Disneyland Resort!
Disney4me posted a topic in Disney Food/Restaurants
When Halloween Time began last month in Disneyland Resort, we headed to the west coast to show you the best (and creepiest) eats. And what we found at Boardwalk Pizza & Pasta in Disney California Adventure Park was one of our favorites. Boardwalk Pizza and Pasta It’s Anti-Vampire Pizza, and our Disneyland correspondent Heather (bwahahahahaha, @DiningInDisney!) thought it was awesome. It’s comprised of roasted garlic sauce, smoked gouda, roasted red peppers, marinated chicken, and tomato-harissa sauce. And while there’s a healthy dose of garlic on there, it doesn’t have you running for the hills. Anti-Vampire Pizza! And now Heather (or rather her husband!) has found a way to level up the Anti-Vampire Pizza: by getting an entire pie instead of a single slice! That’s right! For $39.99, this whole pizza can be yours! Heather did some pizza math (our favorite kind of math, if you must know!), and if you factor in the price of this pizza by the slice, you’re saving about $20 getting the whole pie! Can’t get enough Mickey-shaped treats this Halloween season? We brought you the scoop on festive fall treats available in Walt Disney World, and now we’re coming at ya with a review on this spooky, sweet treat from Trolley Car Cafe in Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Need to know more about this pumpkin-inspired dessert? We’ve got you covered. Chocolate Cake topped with chocolate mousse and chocolate Mickey ears from Trolley Car Cafe Officially named Chocolate Cake – topped with chocolate mousse and chocolate Mickey ears, this dessert consists of a mini chocolate cake topped with chocolate mousse, orange and black glaze, and chocolate Mickey ears. Anyone else feel like they missed an opportunity to call this Mickey Mousse? No, just us? Chocolate Cake topped with chocolate mousse and chocolate Mickey ears from Trolley Car Cafe This cutie is about half cake and half mousse. The little platform on the bottom is a cookie, too! Chocolate Cake topped with chocolate mousse and chocolate Mickey ears from Trolley Car Cafe While it might look like a pumpkin, this baby is all chocolate. If you’re feeling an autumnal dessert but you’re not into that pumpkin spice flavor, this might be one to try. Chocolate Cake topped with chocolate mousse and chocolate Mickey ears from Trolley Car Cafe The chocolate flavor throughout this dessert was on point and not too rich. Chocolate Cake topped with chocolate mousse and chocolate Mickey ears from Trolley Car Cafe The cookie at the bottom didn’t have a ton of flavor, but it did add a nice texture. Chocolate Cake topped with chocolate mousse and chocolate Mickey ears from Trolley Car Cafe While the Mickey Mousse (can’t help it) was a tasty treat, we think there are more exciting desserts available at the Trolley Car Cafe. If you’re in the mood for something more memorable, check out the Carrot Cake Cookie or Chocolate Peanut Butter Crunch Cupcake (AKA the “Butterfinger” cupcake). You’ll find Trolley Car Cafe on the corner of Sunset and Hollywood Boulevard at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Yes, it’s the same location as Starbucks! We just showed off a few fun Halloween and fall-time treats unique to Walt Disney World a few days ago, and reviewed that yummy cinnamon pumpkin cupcake in Animal Kingdom as well! Now we’re headed over to Disney’s Wilderness Lodge to tackle another Halloween-y sweet treat — the Poison Apple Cupcake! Let me just remind everyone that accepting a poison apple from some mean, scary witch in the forest is a bad idea. Really, a terrible one. Snow White taught us all a valuable lesson. But, accepting a poison apple cupcake from the lively cast members at Roaring Fork in Disney’s Wilderness Lodge, well, that’s a completely different story. Spoiler alert: It’s a really good idea. And a delicious one, too. Roaring Fork Limited Time Poison Apple Cupcake We LOOOOVE Wilderness Lodge. It’s like walking into a fall/winter day in a National Park Lodge every time I’m there…which is a nice mind trick when it’s still. so. freaking. hot. in Florida. Throw a Halloween-themed cupcake into the mix, and I’m game. The Poison Apple Cupcake is a caramel-filled, apple-flavored cupcake, with generous heaping of chocolate ganache that flows down the sides, complete with that evil glare made famous by the Evil Queen in her old hag disguise. Poison Apple Cupcake Right off the bat, you can taste apple from the cupcake. At first glance it looks as if it’s red velvet, but it’s not. It was almost as if they churned fresh apples and threw them into the batter, and it was delicious. Adding to that, it’s filled with caramel. And it tastes like the same caramel you can find in the Germany pavilion at Epcot’s World Showcase. It’s thick and incredibly flavorful. I wish I could have had a cup of that alone! Caramel Filling The one downside I had with this cupcake wasn’t the red icing, but the green ganache on top of it. It tasted like artificial food dye and nothing more. Still, it made for a perfect Poison Apple look. Poison Apple Cupcake at Roaring Fork If you’re looking for a fun, creative take on a caramel apple while visiting Walt Disney World, it’s a no-brainer to try this out. You’ll find it at Roaring Fork through October 31st, so you have 11 more days, people! ;-D To check out more fun Halloween eats at Disney World right now, see our exclusive DFB Halloween Snacks Printable for Magic Kingdom here, or read up on sweet treats around the World here!
