This includes reconfiguring walkways, and tram loading and unloading zones and more. One of the central and incomparable strengths of Disney—cinematic excellence—is coming to The Land pavilion at Epcot, and its subject is as wide as the great, big, wonderful world around us. “Awesome Planet,” an on-screen exploration of the realm we call home, showcases the spectacular beauty, diversity and dynamic story of our earth with all the grandeur guests have come to expect. This new film – together with the new Circle-Vision film previously announced for the China pavilion, updates to the film at the Canada pavilion, and the “Beauty and the Beast” Sing-Along that is coming to France – hints at the scope of the coming transformation of this amazing park. The new films herald a bold new era for a theme park that is distinctly Disney in its view of the earth, its lands and its people. We’re aware, of course, that each time we touch Epcot, we are touching the setting for millions of precious family memories. So, we are very careful stewards of this park. “Beauty and the Beast” Sing-Along will rotate, for instance, with “Impressions de France,” which retains its place in Guinness World Records as the longest-running daily screened film in the world. With spectacular nature photography, immersive in-theater effects, and space sequences created by none other than Industrial Light & Magic (which provided the cinematic foundation for the Star Wars franchise), “Awesome Planet” will stir Epcot guests and deliver an environmental message that will resonate far beyond its final scenes. Look for more news soon on the transformation of Epcot. We’re looking forward to welcoming the world in a whole new way! View the full article

As the transformation of Disney’s Hollywood Studios progresses with last year’s opening of Toy Story Land and Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge opening on August 29, 2019, there are other changes surrounding the park in anticipation of greater crowd levels. The Disney’s Hollywood Studios parking lot just got a lot more character! Each section of the lot has been renamed after beloved characters guests can encounter on their adventures in the park: Mickey, Minnie, Jessie, Buzz, Olaf and BB-8. Two additional bus loops, just steps away from the main entrance, also have been added to serve guests arriving via Disney resort bus transportation. These milestones are an important step in the multi-phased transformation of the guest arrival experience at the park, which began last year with a new entrance allowing guests to enter the park from Osceola Parkway. Construction continues on refreshed parking tram lanes and walkways, additional screening areas and a station for Disney Skyliner. These exciting enhancements set the stage for a historic year at the park, which will include the opening of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge and Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway. View the full article

Join Us for a Bright and Colorful Weekend at Disney Springs
Disney4me posted a topic in Disney Blogs
When friends and family ask about the perfect time of year to visit the Walt Disney World Resort, my answer is always spring! There’s something about the perfect Florida weather during this time that makes everything more magical and around here there’s no exception. Disney Springs offers the best eateries to dine outside with amazing views and the perfect shopping spots to pick up all the new spring styles. If you’re limited on time and planning to visit soon, you can’t miss this weekend’s trio of special happenings starting this Friday! We started 2019 off by introducing the iconic “potion purple” collection, adding a pop of purple to your favorite Disney fashions staples like the Spirit Jersey and headband. At that time, I shared that new colors would debut throughout the year, and today I have more info on the latest. You may have seen a sneak peek of a “Dapper Yellow” Spirit Jersey (giving me all the summer vibes!) on social media not too long ago with a mention it was coming soon to Walt Disney World Resort. I’m so excited to share with you that this beautiful ray of sunshine will be available exclusively at World of Disney store at Disney Springs this Friday – March 22, 2019! The new spirit jersey is part of a new “flash color” collection and our merchandise team is working on even more colors to share with you in the near future. Pro tip: Don’t wait to shop because you’ll only be able to find this at the World of Disney store at Disney Springs, while supplies last. Limited quantities are available and once they’re gone, they’re gone. My suggestion? Be at World of Disney at 10 a.m. this Friday morning and park in the Lime Garage for easiest access to the store. Looking for a new pair of ears to pair with it? I think these sparkly new castle ears work perfectly for a summer look. If you’re interested in beauty and skincare, Sephora will host one of their biggest events of the year with Anastasia Beverly Hills Cosmetics. Fans of the beauty brand will have the opportunity to meet Anastasia herself by making a select purchase on Saturday, March 23 from 2-4 p.m. Meet and greet opportunities will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis. For more information, see a team member in store. Once you’re done shopping, swing by The LEGO Store for a special “I Love Cars” event March 22-24, perfect for those who have a need for speed! Bring the kids and your imagination to build a mini version of your dream ride plus race and compete to have your car displayed in the in-store gallery. Don’t forget to check out a life-sized exotic car model made completely from LEGO bricks for the perfect photo op! (Fun Fact: It can actually drive.) Which of these events are you most excited for? I’d love to know in the comments below! View the full article -

If you’ve ever wanted to meet the talented chefs and sommeliers behind the Disney California Adventure Food & Wine Festival, then this dining experience is an opportunity you won’t want to miss! For one night only during the festival, you can enhance your festival visit with a delicious four-course dinner where you’ll get the chance to meet with our talented Disney culinary team members. Each of the chefs and sommeliers that will be your hosts for the evening have been featured in our most recent Disney Festivals Cookbook, which features popular recipes from the Disney California Adventure Food & Wine Festival. The dinner itself celebrates storytelling through food and wine, and consists of four courses with dishes from the cookbook that reflect cuisines from Southern California. Each course is a new delight and each is paired perfectly with a hand-selected beer, wine, or cocktail. At the end of the dinner, the chefs and sommeliers will be available for photo and autograph opportunities. We asked Jimmy Weita, chef de cuisine of Park Events and Festivals at Disneyland Resort, about what he has planned for the dinner. “This dining experience will be a fun and completely reinterpreted version of our festival cookbook dishes, reimagined into a fine dining restaurant experience,” says Chef Jimmy, “The Disney California Adventure Food & Wine Festival has become known for its creative culinary mash-ups, and I’m really looking forward to sharing the melting pot of cultures and cuisines that can be found throughout Southern California.” Chef Jimmy is the one of the creative minds behind all of the savory dishes at this year’s festival, and is one of the chefs that will be in attendance at the dinner. This one-in-a-lifetime dining experience occurs on Thursday, March 28, 2019, from 6:30 to 9:30pm in The Vineyard Room at Wine Country Trattoria. Reservations must be made in advance and space is limited, so be sure to book today! For more information and to make your reservation, you can visit the Disneyland Resort website or call the Disneyland Dine Line at 714-781-DINE (714 781-3463). The Disney California Adventure Food & Wine Festival runs through April 23. You can check out my official Foodie Guide for all of the fabulous marketplace menus at this year’s event. In addition, I have a yummy Disney California Adventure Food & Wine Festival recipe to share straight from the Disney Festivals Cookbook: Shrimp Boil Tacos. These tasty tacos can be found at the Off the Cob Marketplace located near Golden Zephyr and come with andouille sausage and fresh corn. And did I mention they’re also gluten-friendly? Now you can make these delicious tacos from the comfort of your own kitchen with the recipe below! If you’re interested in purchasing the cookbook, it can be found at Seaside Souvenirs and the Studio Store at Disney California Adventure Park as well as various merchandise locations throughout Epcot at Walt Disney World Resort. SHRIMP BOIL TACOS WITH ANDOUILLE SAUSAGE AND FRESH CORN Serves 4 to 6 People Shrimp Boil Taco Filling Ingredients 1 1/2 pounds medium shrimp 2 sticks unsalted butter 2 tablespoons Old Bay Seasoning 1 tablespoon Cajun seasoning 1 1/2 teaspoons paprika 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper 4 garlic cloves, chopped 2 links andouille sausage, diced Kernels from 4 ears fresh corn Taco Ingredients 1 tablespoon canola oil 12 (4-inch) blue or yellow corn tortillas 1 bunch cilantro, chopped 2 limes, cut into quarters FOR SHRIMP BOIL TACO FILLING: Peel and devein shrimp. Remove tails and cut shrimp into bite-size pieces. Melt butter in large skillet over medium heat. Add Old Bay, Cajun seasoning, paprika, cayenne and garlic. Cook for 1 to 2 minutes, or until garlic and spices are fragrant. Add shrimp and cook 3 to 4 minutes, or until pink and opaque. Add sausage and corn and cook for 5 minutes, until heated through. Keep warm until ready to serve. TO SERVE: Heat oil in large skillet until shimmering. Add tortillas in batches and cook for a few seconds on each side, until soft and warm. Drain on paper towels. Top fried tortillas with shrimp mixture. Garnish with chopped cilantro. Serve with lime wedges. Cook’s Note: Use your nose when buying fresh shrimp—it should smell like the sea, and an ammonia odor indicates spoilage. (You could use frozen shrimp, but fresh shrimp have a better texture and taste.) What to drink: A Riesling with a hint of sweetness will cool the spiciness of the andouille sausage. Vampirina (aka “Vee”) is the star of the hit Disney Junior series, “Vampirina,” which blends spooky fun, heartfelt storytelling and Broadway-caliber music in stories that follow Vee as she faces the joys and trials of being the new kid in town after her family moves from Transylvania to Pennsylvania, including making friends and attending a new school in the human world. Along the way, Vee learns that it may be easier to blend in with her peers, but it’s more valuable to celebrate the qualities that make each individual unique. Want to learn how to draw Vampirina? Hello again from Disney Springs!! Earlier this week we sampled the Bacon Cheeseburger Mac and Cheese which we believe to be one of the items coming to the recently announced Mac and Cheese Truck which will soon join the other Disney Food Trucks. Bacon Cheeseburger Mac & Cheese And speaking other the other Food Trucks… they include the Fantasy Fare Food Truck which is where we’ve just tried ANOTHER new twist on mac and cheese. Introducing the Lobster and Shrimp Mac & Cheese!! Lobster and Shrimp Mac & Cheese This mac has a creamy cheddar and swiss sauce, and is topped with lobster, shrimp, and crackers. And a chef confirmed this is the same recipe that will be at the new truck. Lobster and Shrimp Mac & Cheese This dish is super creamy and rich. The cheese sauce packs a lot of flavor — you can really taste the tang from the Swiss. The crackers are a fun touch and when crumbled, add a nice buttery crunch to your bite. There are also several huge, perfectly cooked shrimp. Shrimp Close Up The one downside is that the lobster is barely noticeable. I’m not sure if it was my serving or if that’s normal, but the chef said it was mixed in pretty finely. He did, however, give me a few perfectly cooked chunks to add in! Shrimp and Lobster Mac with added Lobster Overall, this was a tasty and decadent dish that does not taste like it came from a truck! It’s rich and creamy, and would make for an indulgent meal, or great snack if shared. So far, we’ve gone TWO for TWO with the new mac and cheese varieties! And we cannot WAIT for the Mac & Cheese Truck to make its appearance this month so we can try the rest of them! Join the DFB Newsletter to get all the breaking news right in your inbox! This week the Disney Parks Moms Panel Awards will feature our panelists’ top choices at the Disneyland Resort. There were a few runaway winners this year, and yes, the favorite snack remains victorious! Favorite Snack First up, snacks! The clear winner here was the churro! Our panelists just can’t get enough of the tasty treat. Remember, churros are available at Churro Carts throughout the resort, as well as favorite spots like Senor Buzz Churros and Cozy Cone Motel in Disney California Adventure park. Honorable mentions in this category go to Mickey-shaped beignets and of course, corn dogs! Panelists Churro Tip: Be sure to look for the specialty churros during seasonal events as well. Favorite Restaurant For the third year in a row, the hands-down winner is the Blue Bayou Restaurant at Disneyland park! The panelists love the theming, the food and the nostalgia of Blue Bayou. Opened in 1967, the restaurant has been a must-visit destination for guest for years. Carthay Circle Restaurant was also a favorite, along with Carnation Café. Favorite Attraction for Preschoolers The unanimous winner in this category is “it’s a small world” in Disneyland park. Our panelists love taking their little ones on this attraction, but admit they love it probably as much as their kids. Peter Pan’s Flight and Mr. Toad’s Wild Ride also received high recognition in this category! Favorite Show Lastly, in this year’s Disneyland Resort Awards, the winner for the favorite show is…World of Color. According to our panelists, viewing this show is the most magical way to end your day! Congratulations to this week’s winners! Next up is Disney Cruise Line. When it comes to cruising in Northern Europe, the amount of choices can seem daunting. In 2019, Disney Cruise Line offers a variety of itineraries from July to September, each with its own line-up of incredible locales. So which one is the right fit for your family? To help you narrow down the choices, I’ve selected three of my favorite options to highlight for you today. Whether you choose one of these or another of our popular Northern Europe itineraries, you’re sure to be treated to a mix of spectacular destinations. And the best part is that all of our Northern Europe cruises in 2019 include at least two full days at sea so you can experience even more fun and relaxation onboard the Disney Magic. 7-Night Northern Europe Cruise from Dover, England Two weeklong options from Dover, England, near London, include a stop in Copenhagen, one of the most popular port cities in Europe with storybook architecture, verdant parks, cobbled plazas and distinguished culture. The cruise departing August 18 features a visit to Amsterdam, known for its elaborate canal system, tulip fields, windmills and world-class museums. You’ll also visit Stavanger, Norway (adventure seekers: search Preikestolen or Pulpit Rock on Instagram) and Gothenburg, Sweden, a first-time destination for Disney Cruise Line with picturesque Dutch-style canals, tree-lined boulevards and wealth of cultural attractions. The September 1 sailing calls on three stunning destinations in Norway: Oslo, Kristiansand and Bergen. For nature lovers, Oslo offers hiking on quiet trails and boating through gorgeous fjords, while history buffs have their pick of more than 50 museums. Kristiansand is a charming port town on the southern coast of Norway where you can visit picturesque beaches or the colorful town center. And in Bergen, you can explore the iconic Fantoft Stave Church or stroll through the boutique shops, museums and eateries at Bryggen, the old Hanseatic wharf. 7-Night Northern Europe Cruise from Copenhagen, Denmark Departing from Copenhagen on August 1, this cruise to the Baltic features a visit to St. Petersburg, the cultural capital of Russia, plus Tallinn, Estonia; Helsinki, Finland, and another first-time port for Disney Cruise Line, Nynäshamn, Sweden. The picturesque port town of Nynäshamn is a scenic gateway to visit Stockholm, Sweden’s vibrant capital city boasting incredible medieval sites, lush parks and a charming waterfront area. 10-Night Northern Europe Cruise from Copenhagen, Denmark to Dover, England This longer cruise departing August 8 starts in Copenhagen and ends in Dover, giving you the chance to extend your vacation in both Denmark and England. Ports of call include Tallinn, Estonia; Helsinki, Finland; Stockholm, Sweden; Fredericia, Denmark, and a special treat – an overnight call on St. Petersburg. A Russian gem, St. Petersburg has retained much of its historic architecture, dotted with colorful gilded monuments, magnificent palaces and churches and other breathtaking landmarks.
