Hey, there! We’re back with another DFB Video today, and we’re talking about six things Disney did that people hated (and two that people are still arguing about)! Remember when the Tiki Room was “Under New Management”? Disney is constantly changing and growing… and sometimes growth comes along with some growing pains. While many changes are enjoyed and applauded, that’s not always the case. And we’re chatting about six changes Disney made that a lot of guests did NOT like (and a couple where opinions are still mixed) in our latest DFB YouTube Video! And if you love this video, there’s plenty more for you to enjoy over on our DFB YouTube Channel! By the way, have you subscribed yet? If you hit the button below, you can subscribe to the channel and never miss a single episode! If you know us… you know how much we LOVE cupcakes! Mocha Cupcake That’s why we we’re happy to bring you a NEW Mocha Cupcake at Gasparilla Island Grill at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort. So… let’s sink our teeth into this offering. The Mocha Cupcake is filled with coffee mousse and is topped with coffee buttercream, a coffee bean, and chocolate discs. Mocha Cupcake We thought the coffee mousse in the center was great, and we also really enjoyed the coffee buttercream! BUT…we were disappointed with the cake base itself. It was pretty dry and honestly nearly tasteless, offering just a hint of mocha flavor. We’re hoping this was just part of a bad batch, because this one could really woo coffee fans when well-executed. Mocha Cupcake We were also surprised to find that that the coffee bean on top is actually chocolate, too, just like the discs. The tiny shavings were pretty yummy and actually taste like mocha (unlike the cake!). Obviously, you should steer clear of this one if you aren’t a coffee fan, because this is definitely a cupcake for coffee lovers due to the strength of the mocha flavors where present! Mocha Cupcake This cupcake can be found at Gasparilla Island Grill at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort for $5.99 or a Dining Plan snack credit! Today is a big day for fans of the Epcot Food and Wine Festival! Booking opened to the general public this morning for the 2019 Epcot Food and Wine Festival Special Events, Eat to the Beat Concert Dining Packages, and Seminars and Demonstrations. Candy Sushi However, one returning Festival event is not yet open for booking: the family-friendly Candy Sushi, which will make its return to the Festival since its debut last year. (You can check out our review here.) In contacting Disney this morning, we were able to learn TWO new pieces of information about booking this event… and it’s good to know in advance, as it filled up fairly rapidly last year. Candy Sushi Booking Date We were informed that booking for Candy Sushi — which will be offered at 3:30 and 5:30 daily throughout the Festival in The Land pavilion — will open on May 30th at 9:00 AM EST. Seating for Candy Sushi Interested guests are currently advised to call (407) WDW-FEST; however, note that last year booking also became available online. As of press time, there is no Candy Sushi page on the Disney World website, so we will be keeping an eye out as more information comes available, and will keep you posted. Booking Price?? Another possible change that interested guests will want to note: two Cast Members we spoke with mentioned a possible $10 fee (plus tax) per person for Candy Sushi. This is especially worth noting because last year, Candy Sushi was complimentary. Because the official Disney site — at press time — still notes that “Booking information is coming soon,” we are calling the potential fee unconfirmed at this time. However, we still want to give interested guests a heads up that a new fee this year is a possibility. We will continue to keep you updated as we learn more! Calling all world-travelers – there’s a new table-service restaurant coming to the World Showcase at Epcot! As we’ve previously announced, this new addition to the Japan pavilion will provide guests a signature dining experience inspired by the natural beauty of Japan. Guests can enjoy a special Chef’s Table dining experience in the Water Room. The restaurant will be named Takumi-Tei, which means house of the artisan. The design celebrates the relationship between Japanese craftsmanship and the natural world, while the food is inspired by the wonderful collaboration between nature and takumi, the artisan. The upscale dinner menu will highlight wagyu beef in a sublime setting, and guests interested in the ultimate experience will be able to indulge in a multi-course tasting menu featuring traditional tea service. Signature cocktails and premium sake will be available along with a wine and craft beer menu. Takumi-Tei will open in the Japan pavilion at Epcot this summer and will be operated by Mitsukoshi USA, which operates the merchandise, restaurants (Teppan Edo and Tokyo Dining), and kiosks in the Japan pavilion. The new restaurant will add to the rich tapestry of cultural experiences available to guests in World Showcase. Stay tuned to the Disney Parks Blog for more information and details to be revealed! For more information on dining at Epcot, visit the Walt Disney World Resort website or call 407 WDW-DINE (407 939-3463). View the full article

Spring Rolls have been a hot Adventureland commodity for a while now with unique, rotating flavor choices like cheeseburger, bacon mac and cheese, and buffalo chicken. Adventureland And that long list of delicious rolls has grown as a new spring roll flavor has popped up at the Spring Roll Wagon in Adventureland! Yep… the latest option is the new Cuban Spring Roll. Cuban Spring Roll We found this roll to be rather tasty. It’s filled with mustard, pickles, ham, and pork as a play on the classic sandwich. When taking a bite, the most prominent flavor was pickle. But we could taste the other components as well. Overall, we found it to be delicious, but especially so if you love pickles! Cuban Spring Roll You are able to pick two spring rolls for $7.50. And the Wagon is still serving the cheeseburger spring roll — read our full review here — though there wasn’t a sign for the option. So, be sure to ask which flavors are available on your visit, and grab one of each to mix things up a bit and enjoy! Spring Roll What’s your favorite treat in Adventureland? Boulevards of Movie Dreams Part One: Imagineering Hollywood
Disney4me posted a topic in Disney Blogs
Two beloved boulevards are celebrating anniversaries this year at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Thirty years ago, the glamorous entry to an all-new Disney park “…dedicated to Hollywood,” as the opening day plaque reads, “not a place on a map, but a state of mind that exists wherever people dream and wonder and imagine, a place where illusion and reality are fused by technological magic” was represented by a bustling city street of stores and services, “a Hollywood that never was—and always will be,” as the dedication concluded. This was (and is) Hollywood Boulevard. Debuting on May 1, 1989, Disney’s Hollywood Studios (originally Disney-MGM Studios) was the third theme park to open at Walt Disney World (after the Magic Kingdom in 1971 and Epcot in 1982). Originating in a concept for an entertainment-themed Epcot pavilion, the idea was expanded into its own park, which now occupies more than 135 acres. “Hollywood is certainly a place,” says Martin Turnbull, author of the Garden of Allah series of Hollywood historical novels, “but to a worldwide audience, in many ways it is a shared historical fantasy. It’s based in reality, but we have romanticized it into what we want it to be, and need it to represent.” The Disney Imagineers relied on those ideas—both history and cultural memory—in their design approach to Hollywood Boulevard. “The entry to the park itself is a kind of ‘Main Street, USA’ of early 20th Century Southern California,” says Vanessa Hunt, co-author of Poster Art of the Disney Parks. “It evokes the era and the locale skillfully, just as Main Street evokes the turn of the century hometown America.” Left: Pan Pacific Auditorium, Los Angeles, c. 1975. Library of Congress, Prints & Photographs Division, photograph by Carol M. Highsmith [LC-HS503-447] Most guests will likely never know the specific buildings being represented, but it’s a loving and remarkable gallery of historic architecture. The park gateway, for instance, is based on the 1935 Streamline Moderne Pan Pacific Auditorium façade in Los Angeles, and the entry plaza souvenir and information building is a reproduction of the 1936 Hollywood historic landmark Crossroads of the World. Down the street, real structures that still stand in Hollywood are paid tribute, including the corner entry of Mickey’s of Hollywood, based on the 1926 Baine Building at 6601 Hollywood Boulevard (named for the businessman who originated the Hollywood Christmas Parade), and Keystone Clothiers (named for the early Hollywood studio of Mack Sennett) is based on the 1933 Owl Drug Company building at 6382 Hollywood Boulevard. Other buildings around Los Angeles also provided inspiration, Trolley Car Café, the former location of L.A. Prop Cinema Storage, is derived from the 1907 Mission Revival style Ivy Substation in Culver City, and Adrian and Edith’s Head to Toe (named for costume designers Adrian, and Edith Head) is styled after the Chapman Park Market Building at 3451 West 6th Street in Los Angeles. Like a beloved movie you’ve seen a dozen times and would still watch a dozen more times, every visit to Disney’s Hollywood Studios can reveal more fascinating detail, another layer of sophisticated storytelling, and the pure pleasure of discovery. In a future post, a right turn off of Hollywood Boulevard will take us on an exploration of more Tinseltown history, on Sunset Boulevard at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. View the full article -

So… with that in mind, why not hack this snack a bit to make it even more delicious by swirling the suggested LEMON AND LIME Dole Whip?! Lemon Lime Dole Whip And THAT is how the hack of lemon-lime Dole Whip came to be! Lemon Lime Dole Whip You can get this Dole Whip creation for $4.99 or one Dining Plan snack credit.
