It’s been a while since The Old Prospector, Stinky Pete, has made an appearance in Toy Story 2…or anywhere for that matter. ©Disney Until now that is… Stinky Pete is out of his box again and this time he’s causing problems at Toy Story Land in Disney’s Hollywood Studios…via the Play Disney Parks App! The Play Disney Parks App is filled with fun games, Disney trivia, and more that you can play while waiting in line for rides. And Disney has just introduced an all-new interactive show effect that guests can experience when using the app while in line for Toy Story Mania! Now, you’ve got to be playing “Playset Party” in order to see Stinky Pete himself. “Playset Party” is a series of mini-games, and each little game helps you assemble the Toy Story Mania! playset. But get this, guys, Stinky Pete won’t make his appearance until after you complete all the mini-games. And just where will Stinky Pete pop up you ask? Well, Disney has said to “keep your eyes open near the end of the queue for a wild west-style jail cell that Andy has constructed.” They also left us with a little video to give us a sneak peek into the new interactive show effect! And don’t forget, the Play Disney Parks App will also be a part of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge — get all the details here! What’s your favorite Play Disney Parks App game? NBA Experience ©Disney It’s going to be a great summer at Disney World, but remember staying cool in the sizzling Florida sun is essential while touring the Disney parks. Read on for some great heat-busting tips! Tips For Keeping Cool at Disney World This Summer The agents at Small World Vacations know how to chill out when it’s hot. Here’s some of their tips and tricks to beat the heat: Go to the parks early in the morning, have lunch indoors, and then return to the hotel for a swim and/or nap in the A/C before heading back to the parks in the evening. Take advantage of Extra Magic Hours for Walt Disney World Resort guests, select Disney Springs Resort Hotels guests, and guests at the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin, and Four Seasons Orlando. Stay hydrated! Freeze a half-filled bottle of water and fill the rest with cool water. It will melt throughout the day and you always have COLD water. Remember: You can also get free cups of ice water at any quick service dining location. Fill a spray bottle or a hand-held, battery operated spray fan to spritz yourself with a mist. Graze on light, fresh, non-greasy foods that are easy to digest. Avoid big meals or heavy fast foods. Eat smaller portions of salads, cold protein, and fruits instead. Look for the interactive fountains at Epcot or Disney Springs and let the kids splash around (bring a bathing suit or change of clothes if they want to get really wet). Spend time in air conditioned attractions such as Soarin’, Flight of Passage, Mickey’s Philharmagic, Living Seas, Spaceship Earth, Tiki Room, Pirates of the Caribbean, Carousel of Progress, Star Wars Launch Bay, Indoor character meets, Tree of Life, The American Adventure, the World Showcase shops, Hall of Presidents, and more. Get wet on attractions like Splash Mountain or Kali River Rapids. Add the Park Hopper Plus Option to your theme park tickets and cool off at the Disney Water Parks. Add a few days to your trip so you can enjoy some down time each day to relax and avoid the heat and still be able to see everything. And remember to spend some time at the pool at your Walt Disney World Resort Hotel – just one more perk of staying on property! Plus, Disney Resort guests can also enjoy exclusive early morning and evening Extra Magic Hours. Transportation to the parks runs continuously so, you can return to your Disney Resort for a mid-day break and then, head back to the parks after dark. We have known for some time that Savi’s Workshop in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge would be a place where guests could build and create their own customized, high-end lightsabers. ©Disney But today, Disney has released new and EXCITING details about Savi’s Workshop in Black Spire Outpost on the Planet of Batuu. These new details and backstory for the workshop truly give us further understanding as to just how immersive Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge is going to be… Do you feel a strong connection to the Force? To find those who feel that same connection, the place to seek will be Savi’s Scrapyard, a hidden workshop on Black Spire Outpost. But before you can access the workshop, you must make an appointment with the Gatherers. The Gatherers are “a group of men and women who have dedicated their lives to restoring balance in the galaxy.” They do this by passing along their knowledge of the Force as well as the ancient ways of the Jedi. Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge Concept Art ©Disney Savi, one of the original Gatherers, and his friend Lor San Tekka (who made a brief appearance in Star Wars: The Force Awakens) believed in the Jedi Orders ideals and strived to pass on their knowledge of Jedi lore. For Savi, this meant creating the workshop by way of establishing a salvage business which served as a front to disguise his ultimate goal of guiding the next generation of Force wielders. But how, exactly? Why, by assisting them in building their very own unique lightsabers! So…if you’re ready to learn this knowledge, be on the lookout for a symbol on the front of the shop, which will let you know you’re in the right place. In order to get inside, you must tell the Gatherers the secret phrase! Sounds pretty epic already, right? But that’s just the beginning… These same Gatherers will act as guides to those who seek help building their own customized lightsaber. The Gatherers have secured a giant collection of stories and kyber crystals, along with additional saber parts from all over the galaxy. Stepping inside Savi’s Workshop, you will be surrounded by all sorts of lightsaber parts and pieces. But eyes will then be drawn to the center of the room featuring a large oval-shaped Builder’s Table which was assembled from ancient salvaged pieces. The table will be able to accommodate up to 14 lightsaber builders at a time. ©Disney So now onto the most important part…the LIGHTSABERS. The four themed lightsaber building options include Peace and Justice, Power and Control, Elemental Nature, and Protection and Defense. Peace and Justice lightsabers are salvaged from fallen Jedi temples and crashed starships with building pieces that were created for Force wielders of the Republic era. The design will be simple to reflect the commitment to the devout life of the Jedi Order. The Power and Control lightsabers were reclaimed from the ashes of the rumored Sith homeworld and abandoned Sith temples. The pieces were originally forged by the Sith of their time and their sharp form will represent “the brutality and relentlessness of the Sith’s insatiable desire for power and control.” The Force, as it is known, is an energy field created by all living things. The Force “surrounds us, penetrates us and binds the galaxy together.” The Elemental Nature lightsaber pieces are “born of that same Force” and as unique as the elements of nature. Examples include the wood from a Brylark tree, a bone of the Cartusion whale or a tooth from a Rancor. The Protection and Defense lightsaber is “cultivated from a time forgotten.” Featuring some of the earliest discovered lightsaber pieces, they will contain designs and inscriptions that are, as Disney says, “shrouded in mystery.” These lightsabers are created for protection and defense, reconnecting “the user with the most ancient wellspring of the Force.” Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge opens at Disneyland on May 31, 2019, and at Disney World’s Hollywood Studios on August 29, 2019. A Disney cruise is a vacation for the whole family that is unlike any other, and our seven-night Caribbean sailing on the Disney Fantasy from Port Canaveral, Florida, is one of our most popular summer getaways. In addition to the family fun you can find onboard the ship, these itineraries include tropical destinations like the Virgin Islands, Mexico, Jamaica, Grand Cayman and of course our own private island in the Bahamas, Castaway Cay! Even if you are a veteran cruiser, packing for a weeklong sailing can sometimes be tricky or intimidating…so we’ve provided the all-inclusive list! It’s perfect for warm weather itineraries to the Caribbean, filled with all of your must-haves plus a few items just for fun! Here are some of the essentials to bring on your seven-night tropical Disney cruise vacation: Daytime Fun on the Ship With everything from fun family pools to exclusive spaces for kids and adults alike, Disney cruises are jam-packed with activities for the whole family! Here are the essential items you should consider bringing on a seven-night tropical cruise: Swimsuits and cover ups – Pack at least two options to ensure you can spend as much time at the pool, in the hot tub or riding the AquaDuck as possible! Shorts, shirts, tank tops and sundresses – You’ll be spending lots of time outside enjoying the sunshine, so pack accordingly for the warmer temps. Athletic wear and gym shoes – There’s lots of ways to break a sweat on a Disney cruise! Bring clothes to play basketball on Goofy’s Sports Deck or to squeeze in a quick workout at the fitness center. The ocean view from the treadmill can’t be beat! Evening Entertainment, Dining and Deck Parties On your Disney cruise, the fun lasts all day! From family and adult-exclusive dining options to Broadway-style entertainment and high-energy deck parties, make sure you come prepared for a different experience each night: “Cruise casual” dinner attire – Plan to dress “cruise casual” in our main family dining rooms, which means no tank tops or swimwear. Dressy dining outfits – Bring dressier outfits for semi-formal and formal nights so you can take advantage of the onboard photography services. Those of you who plan to eat at Palo or Remy, be sure to dress to impress while you enjoy your adult-exclusive dinner! Men should pack dress pants and a collared shirt, while women should bring a dress, skirt or pants and a blouse. For more information, click here for dress codes at Palo and Remy. Pirate best – There’s no better place to become a pirate than IN the Caribbean! You’re invited to transform into pillaging pirates and become a part of the crew during “Pirate Night” on the Disney Fantasy. Your “pirate style” can include anything from pirate tee shirts and bandanas to eye patches, pirate hooks and even stuffed parrots! Light sweater – Temperatures can be cooler in the dining room and theater or out on deck with the evening ocean breeze, so pack a light sweater or jacket just in case. Adventures Ashore From exploring Mayan ruins in Mexico and ziplining through the trees in Jamaica during a Port Adventure, to lounging on the warm sand of a sun-drenched beach, there’s an exciting adventure ashore to fit everyone in your party! When you visit our award-winning private island, Castaway Cay, everything you need for a perfect day is included, like an all-you-care-to-eat buffet lunch, beach chairs, umbrellas, towels, hammocks and more … but you can still pack a few extra items to make the most of your day! No matter what shore excursions you experience, here are a few helpful packing tips to prepare: Backpack or collapsible tote bag – This will come in handy for carrying your personal items, as well as toting souvenirs you may buy in port. Considering throwing in some plastic zip-top bags as well in case your belongings get wet during your time ashore. Lightweight pants, capris or leggings – Shorts and a t-shirt are great for many shore excursions like historical village tours or sightseeing at the ruins…but more active experiences like hiking, climbing or ziplining will be more comfortable with pants. GoPro or underwater camera – There’s a lot to see and photograph under the water (including some hidden Mickeys at Castaway Cay) so make sure you have a way to capture it all! Appropriate shoes – Prepare to be on your feet! Bring comfortable walking shoes for sightseeing, sneakers for hiking or biking activities and flip flops or water shoes for a day at the beach. Just for Fun! There are lots of small ways to enhance your Disney cruise experience! For those travelers to Black Spire Outpost who feel a stronger connection with the Force, you are not alone. To find like-minded others, make your way to Savi’s Scrapyard. Those who have felt the call can seek out the hidden workshop and arrange an appointment to meet with the Gatherers – a group of men and women who have dedicated their lives to restoring balance in the galaxy by passing on their knowledge of the Force and the ancient ways of the Jedi. The Gatherers guide those who seek their assistance in creating their own unique customized lightsaber. The Gatherers have amassed a great collection of stories, kyber crystals, and other saber parts from around the galaxy. As “keepers of the Force,” they have passed down their knowledge from generation to generation, striving to keep the flame of hope alive. Savi was one of the original Gatherers and a friend to Lor San Tekka (whom we met briefly at the beginning of “Star Wars: The Force Awakens”). Like Lor, Savi was a believer in the ideals of the Jedi Order and helped to pass on his knowledge of Jedi lore. He created a salvage business as a front to hide his clandestine mission of guiding the next generation of Force wielders and helping them create their unique lightsabers. Those ready to learn this knowledge will find a symbol displayed on the front of the workshop indicating that they are in the correct location and they must give the secret phrase to the Gatherers to enter inside. Once inside the workshop, the Builders will be surrounded by various odds and ends, pieces and objects. These pieces become key elements in the building and refinement of their lightsabers. At the center of the room is the Builder’s Table, a large oval-shaped table assembled from ancient pieces salvaged from across the galaxy that can accommodate up to 14 builders at a time to choose their crystal and craft their lightsaber. There are four themes of lightsabers that guests can build: Peace and Justice: Salvaged from fallen Jedi temples and crashed starships, these lightsaber pieces were created for Force wielders of the Republic era. The simple designs reflect the commitment to the devout life of those whom they were created by – the Jedi Order – the once guardians of peace and justice in the galaxy. Power and Control: Reclaimed from the ashes of the rumored Sith homeworld and abandoned Sith temples, these lightsaber pieces were originally forged by the Sith of their time. Characterized by sharp and strong forms, these pieces showcase the brutality and relentlessness of the Sith’s insatiable desire for power and control. Elemental Nature: As we have been told, The Force is an energy field created by all living things; it surrounds us, penetrates us and binds the galaxy together. These lightsaber pieces are born of that same Force. They are as unique as the user and as the elements of nature: the wood from a Brylark tree, a bone of the Cartusion whale or even a tooth from a Rancor. Protection and Defense: Cultivated from a time forgotten, these earliest lightsaber pieces contain designs and inscriptions that are shrouded in mystery. Believed to be created for protection and defense, conferring anonymity and symbolizing emotional detachment, a lightsaber made from these pieces reconnects the user with the most ancient wellspring of the Force. Are you feeling the call of the Force? Will you answer it? What kind of lightsaber do you think will call to you? If you are planning to visit Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at the Disneyland Resort between May 31 (opening day) and June 23, 2019, a reservation and theme park admission are required. After June 23, 2019, reservations will not be required for visits to Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, and access to Disneyland park, Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge and experiences will be subject to capacity. Is there anything better than sipping on a nice, cool cocktail while strolling around World Showcase on a hot day in Epcot? Sparkling Strawberry Wine Pop As it turns out, there just might be… because new at the Via Napoli beverage and snack cart in Epcot’s Italy pavilion are COCKTAIL POPSICLES! THREE Cocktail Popsicles by Pop Fusions are joined by a non-alcoholic Strawberry Popsicle (listed on the bottom of the menu) so everyone can get in on the frozen fun! Menu Let’s kick things off with the non-alcoholic Strawberry Pop Fusions popsicle. This one held up really well in the heat, giving us plenty of time to enjoy the refreshing fruity flavor. Strawberry Pop Fusions Popsicle You’ll want to note the ingredients in this $8.00 popsicle: they’re simply strawberries, sugar cane, water, and fresh squeezed lemon juice — made right in Florida to deliver on freshness. Strawberry Pop Fusions Popsicle Now onto the alcoholic Cocktail Popsicles! The Limoncello is exclusive to Via Napoli, and is made of limoncello liqueur and fresh, locally grown raspberries. The Berry Sangria popsicle is made with locally sourced wine and fresh berries. Menu We went with the Sparkling Strawberry Wine Cocktail Popsicle. And it’s fun to know that these particular Pop Fusions popsicles are made with Florida’s Island Grove Wine Company wines. Sparkling Strawberry Wine Popsicle Sparkling wine and fresh locally grown strawberries come together to create a truly refreshing treat… IF you can eat it fast enough — we found it to be a pretty fast melt. We only found one slice of strawberry in the popsicle but there was still a hint of strawberry flavor and the treat was delicious overall! Sparkling Strawberry Wine Popsicle Since these seem to melt pretty fast (at least in our experience), we suggest grabbing a cup from a quick service location just in case so you don’t lose your cocktail popsicle to the concrete below! Now, when it comes to purchasing one of these, here’s a heads up…Cast Members at the cart will only allow you to purchase ONE per valid 21-and-over ID. Which one will you try? This summer, Disney California Adventure park celebrates the beloved characters and music of Disney’s “The Lion King” with an imaginative new adaptation of this timeless story, presented as a highly-theatrical outdoor musical production entitled, “Tale of the Lion King.” The show features a cast of 18 performers – including actors, singers, dancers and drummers – who form an ensemble called the Storytellers of the Pride Lands. This traveling troupe specializes in retelling revered stories in their own contemporary style, weaving their tale through language, song and dance. Creative Director Susana Tubert and the team at Disney Parks Live Entertainment are in the midst of a series of workshops and rehearsals with the cast in preparation for the opening of “Tale of the Lion King” later this summer. Here’s a look behind the scenes. In this imaginative story-theatre production, the scenic, prop and costume designs celebrate the spirit of Africa. All-new musical arrangements have been written for the most treasured songs from “The Lion King,” creating a score for the show with elements we associate with the emotional sweep of the original compositions, yet focused on the vocal performances of the actors and music from the drummers to drive a unique percussive sound. “Tale of the Lion King” graces the Palisades Stage at Disney California Adventure park for a limited time this summer, starting June 7. Carthay Circle Lounge at Disney California Adventure Park has always been a great place to kick back with a drink or an appetizer while waiting to dine at Carthay Circle Restaurant. Carthay Circle Lounge But, this spot just got even better! Carthay Circle Lounge has a new side patio seating location. We asked about the new area and only waited TWO MINUTES before being seated…we couldn’t believe it! Carthay Circle Lounge Side Patio Seating The location was GREAT. The atmosphere was amazing, we were able to see characters walk by and we were also able to watch A Suitcase and a Dream from our seats! Carthay Circle Lounge Side Patio Seating Of course, that wasn’t all…we had to grab a few apps and drinks while checking out the new seating location, because this is one of our favorite bar locations at Disneyland Resort. We chowed down on the Vietnamese Twice Cooked Beef Tacos with Fresh Pineapple — read our full review on those delicious tacos here! Carthay Circle Lounge We also sipped on Pimm’s Punch (yummm) and Ritual Hop-O-Matic IPA. Pimm’s Punch is one of our favorites — sweet and light and goes down WAY to easy! Pimm’s Punch We (and the readers and followers we’ve heard from) are LOVING the new side patio seating at Carthay. It’ll be an ideal place to kick back and relax this Spring and Summer at DCA! Whether you’ve planned a rest day at your resort, live locally and want a Disney dining experience, or just don’t want to eat another meal in one of Walt Disney World’s parks, dining on property without a park ticket offers many delicious options. Resort dining is often fantastic, and Disney Springs has more options for dining than every before. Special Dessert at Artist Point Here we gather TEN of the BEST places to eat at Walt Disney World WITHOUT a park ticket! Sanaa — Animal Kingdom Lodge – Kidani Village First up is one of our favorite table service restaurants in the World — and it also happens only to be a one-credit meal on the Disney Dining Plan! Sanaa features the flavors of Africa and India and serves up the Indian Bread Service, an irresistible appetizer of Indian flatbreads and several dipping sauces or chutneys. Bread Service Accompaniments Entrees at Sanaa range from Berbere-Braised Lamb Shank to Fragrant Duck, but one of our favorites is the Potjie Inspired, a duo that offers several vegetarian and vegan options in addition to meat. But Sanaa is worth a visit for more than the tasty eats. It’s also a warm and inviting atmosphere, and if you dine when the sun is still up, you will also enjoy savanna views — and perhaps even dine with a furry or feathered friend! Savanna View Click here to read our most recent review and to see why Sanaa is one of our favorite places to dine at Walt Disney World. ‘Ohana — Polynesian Village Resort If you’ve been a long-time DFB reader, you probably guessed ‘Ohana would be on our list! This family style, all-you-care-to-enjoy restaurant serves up a character breakfast (Lilo and Stitch!) and a festive dinner (Hawaiian storytelling and games!). For dinner, meats are cooked over a oak-fired grill and brought to the table on skewers, letting each guest try as much or as little as they’d like. Family style salad, teriyaki and stir-fried noodles, chicken wings, and pork dumplings accompany the meat and provide a little variety for diners. Sides — Wontons, Noodles, Stir Fried Vegetables, Chicken Wings But the real star here is the ‘Ohana Bread Pudding. (Yeah, we should probably note that the view isn’t bad, either, but that bread pudding!) ‘Ohana Bread Pudding has acquired a cult following for good reason! It’s a plate of dense, rich bread pudding topped with a massive scoop of vanilla ice cream. But when you pour that caramel-banana sauce on top? Disney food magic! ‘Ohana Bread Pudding with Sauce See more about dinner at ‘Ohana here! ‘Ohana also has the added bonus of convenience. It’s just a Monorail ride away from Magic Kingdom, which means you can enjoy this non-park meal even if you’re spending a full day at the park. In fact, the Polynesian is a great place to get away from the crowds for a while and recharge! Morimoto Asia — Disney Springs Morimoto Asia, located in Disney Springs, offers elegant dining and thoughtful, delicious Asian cuisine. The quality here is top-notch, and it’s matched by the beautiful dining room. Dining at Morimoto Asia is a true departure from theme park dining, and while it tends to be a bit pricey, it’s also delicious. (DFB Tip: Book a lunch ADR at Morimoto Asia to use one Disney Dining Plan table service credit (dinner requires two)!) Peking Duck at Morimoto Asia Check out our review of Morimoto Asia here! If you want to sample Chef Morimoto’s cuisine but can’t swing a table service meal, stop by Morimoto Asia Street Food, the quick service arm of Morimoto Asia! This spot is located on the covered patio and features pan-Asian street food. Everything from egg rolls to bao to pork ribs can be had here, and it’s all delicious! We particularly liked the Kalbi Bao Taco and the Shrimp Tempura Roll. (See our FIRST LOOK and review of Morimoto Asia Street Food here!) Shrimp Tempura Roll Raglan Road Irish Pub and Restaurant — Disney Springs Also located in Disney Springs, Raglan Road has become a perennial favorite of guests. This is because of the extensive, scrumptious menu of Irish-inspired eats that feature both traditional dishes and innovative ones. Diners can get fish and chips and shepherd’s pie alongside Caesar salad and burgers. Fish and Chips The added fun here is the vibrant atmosphere with music and, frequently, dance! Raglan Road is consistently good, and it’s a relaxed way to enjoy a meal without a park ticket. An Irish Egg at Raglan Road Jaleo by Jose Andres — Disney Springs Jaleo opened in March 2019 to rave reviews for the extensive, thoughtful menu and the colorful, beautiful atmosphere. Menu items are inspired by the cuisine of Spain and include classics like paella — the specialty of the restaurant — and Iberico ham. Tapas is also widely available here and makes for an exciting, interactive dining experience. Foosball Table Because Jaleo is brand new and because the menu is extensive with items for all tastes (and, from what we’ve been told, lots of food preferences), it is a terrific place to escape from the parks and try some special food. Gambas al Ajillo Check out our FIRST LOOK and review of Jaleo on its opening day! Homecomin’ — Disney Springs Chef Art Smith is known for his Fried Chicken, and Homecomin’ in Disney Springs has been serving it up hot and delicious since the doors opened in July 2016. Not only has the signature dish brought people back again and again, even entrees like the Cuban Sandwich and sides like mashed potatoes and mac and cheese provide a satisfying meal experience. We’ll eat Homecomin’s Fried Chicken any day! Homecomin’ now offers brunch, so you can get your Fried Chicken and Donuts on nearly all day long! (Click here to see what brunch is all about!) If you’re in need of some comfort food made really well while you’re on vacation (where, we all know, calories don’t count!), Homecomin’s soulful menu will get you there — without a park ticket! Contempo Cafe — Contemporary Resort Believe it or not there are quick service locations outside of the parks at Walt Disney World that are so consistently good, we even hit them up on a non-park day! Contempo Cafe is tops for its convenient location (hello, walkable from Magic Kingdom!) and for its delicious entrees and desserts. The Pot Roast is a DFB favorite when it’s on the menu, but we honestly love just about anything. Chicago Style Italian Beef Sub But if you’re looking for creative and delicious cupcakes and desserts (and who isn’t?), Contempo Cafe is a great place to Monorail into. The pastry case has a revolving selection of awesome cupcakes and one of our favorite Disney World Desserts: Peanut Butter Pie. Peanut Butter Pie If you’re looking for a non-park quick service meal and fancy yourself a glide on the Monorail, make Contempo Cafe your stop at Disney’s Contemporary Resort. We take a look at some of the newer Contempo Cafe menu items here! Storybook Dining — Wilderness Lodge When Disney announced a new character dinner was taking over Wilderness Lodge’s Artist Point, plenty of readers expressed dismay. But when we tried Storybook Dining for the first time, we were super impressed. The food was creative, thematic, and delicious — everything from Royal Prime Rib to A Stroll Through Nature (a vegetarian gnocchi dish) was excellent. Shared Appetizers for the Table And even as the food is terrific, it’s the rare character interactions that really make Storybook Dining a non-parks favorite. Diners will meet Dopey and Grumpy and have the opportunity to meet the Evil Queen! (Snow White is on hand, too!) So many fun photo opps and conversations to be had, all without stepping foot into a park! The Queen at Storybook Dining! California Grill For high-end signature dining at Walt Disney World, California Grill is on top — literally! This fine dining restaurant is located atop Disney’s Contemporary Resort and focuses on California cuisine and the use of local, sustainable ingredients. The menu here changes a lot (much to the dismay of some diners!), which means no two meals at California Grill are exactly the same. But quality is the name of the game at California Grill, and it’s pretty amazing to think a restaurant of this caliber is just a short Monorail ride from Magic Kingdom. California Grill Favorite dishes include the Oak-Fired Filet of Beef and the Sonoma Goat Cheese Ravioli. But a special bonus of dining at California Grill is the opportunity to view Happily Ever After — Magic Kingdom’s fireworks show — from the observation deck adjacent to the restaurant. It’s a way to enjoy the show without entering the park! Sonoma Goat Cheese Ravioli Grand Floridian Cafe Grand Floridian Cafe is a table service location that’s a hidden gem on the Monorail loop. This spot serves up seriously tasty breakfast, brunch, and lunch items — including the components of a Chicken and Waffle food hack! (See it here!!) Point of fact: we’ve had some of our favorite brunch items at Grand Floridian Cafe, and we recommend it for a non-park or a park day! Benedict Flight You can also dine at Grand Floridian for dinner, where the menu excludes breakfast items but still has some tasty options! Want to know what else you can do on your resort day?
