With the May 31st opening of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge in Disneyland fast approaching (and the August 29th opening in Disney World’s Hollywood Studios to follow), more and more details are coming to light about the land just about every day. Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge And those details include information on the five dining options coming to Galaxy’s Edge. For instance, just last Friday when menus were revealed for each location, we got a look at which beverages would be available as morning drinks at Oga’s Cantina. Moogan Tea, Blue Bantha, Bloody Rancor and Black Spire Brew ©Disney Parks Morning Specialties with alcohol will include the Spiran Caf and the Bloody Rancor, while Morning Specialties sans alcohol will include Black Spire Brew, Moogan Tea, Tarine Tea, and the bound-to-be-popular Blue Bantha Blue Milk served with a cookie. There will also be a few breakfast bites available at Oga’s Cantina as well, with Rising Moons Overnight Oats and the Mustafarian Lava Roll. With the newly released information, The Orange County Register is taking a look at starting your day at Oga’s Cantina, along with some notes about seating for the location. According to the article, Oga’s Cantina will open at 8:00 AM most mornings. When it comes to seating, Oga’s will have only “six snowboard-shaped tables, six booth seats and a standing room-only U-shaped bar.” Of course, reservations will not be available for the lounge, and The Orange County Register shares estimates that the wait times to get into Oga’s could be an hour or more. So our question is: what will your strategy be for starting your day in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge? If you’re one of the many Disney Parks Blog readers who love “Toy Story” films, then your next favorite character may soon be an adorable disposable spork named Forky from Disney and Pixar’s upcoming film “Toy Story 4.” And today, we are featuring new Forky items now available at Disneyland Resort and Walt Disney World Resort. New Forky inspired merchandise includes special plush, apparel and more (none of which is disposable)! FORKY (voice of Tony Hale) is not a toy! At least that’s what he thinks. An actual spork-turned-craft-project, Forky is pretty sure that he doesn’t belong in Bonnie’s room. The upcoming Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge will ultimately house two attractions — Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance and Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run. ©Disney from @DisneyParks on Twitter While we’ll have to wait until after Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge opens to ride Rise of the Resistance (which will open in a second phase for the land on both coasts), Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run will open with the rest of the land on opening day (May 31st for Disneyland and August 29th for Walt Disney World’s Hollywood Studios). As we celebrate 30 years of Disney’s Hollywood Studios, members of the Disney Parks Moms Panel are also remembering some of their most magical memories created at the theme park. “As someone that’s constantly on the lookout for adventure, I’ve always had the best time finding my thrills at Disney’s Hollywood Studios!” exclaims Wyatt. “Whether I’m rocking out to attractions such as Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith, or experiencing all-new excitement such as the toy-normous fun of riding Slinky Dog Dash for the first time, I know that I can count on Disney’s Hollywood Studios for larger-than-life entertainment each time I visit!” Wyatt is not alone when he considers the park one full of amazing attractions. For Sue, it’s all about The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror. “There’s the anticipation of walking down Sunset Boulevard, and seeing The Hollywood Tower Hotel in the distance – and the fear increases as we hear those screams. Once seated in the elevator, I never know whether to laugh hysterically or scream, as I just don’t know if I’m going up or down at any moment! I so enjoy that it is different every single time.” For others, Disney’s Hollywood Studios means memories of live action shows and perhaps even the chance to be a part of the act. “What sets Disney’s Hollywood Studios apart for me and my family are the chances to step into the story. From the audience participation at Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular! to the hilarious antics of the Citizens of Hollywood,” Missy explains. “I will never forget my husband’s first visit when he got called out of the audience to become part of the Citizens of Hollywood show. They ended up playing a prank on him, and we all laughed for days about it! My kiddos will always remember the trip too, where they had our whole family involved in recording a commercial. It’s these kinds of impromptu surprises that create memories we’ll cherish forever.” And let’s not forget about memorable snack times! “My absolute favorite spot in Disney’s Hollywood Studios is BaseLine Tap House! It is the perfect location to take a midday break,” explains Tabitha. “There is air-conditioned seating inside, as well as shaded seating outside, with snacks the kids enjoy and cold adult beverages for mom and dad. When you are walking through the market in Black Spire Outpost on planet Batuu, you may come across a podracer engine heating up a spit of meats run by a pitmaster droid. And that’s how you’ll know you’ve found Ronto Roasters when it opens as part of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge on May 31, 2019 in Disneyland and on August 29, 2019 in Disney World’s Hollywood Studios! Ronto Roasters ©Disney The specialty of the house? Why, it’s grilled ronto — a beast native to Tatooine. While Disney released the menu for Ronto Roasters late last week, there was something missing on the list that is appearing now that the menu (albeit, without prices) is coming up on Disneyland.com. The newly revealed item is for Breakfast: the Ronto Morning Wrap with scrambled eggs, grilled pork sausage, shredded cheddar, and peppercorn sauce wrapped in pita bread. Ronto Roasters will also serve the Rising Moons Overnight Oats which will likewise be served for Breakfast at Docking Bay 7 Food and Cargo and Oga’s Cantina. Blue AND Green Milk ©Disney Parks Of course, we’ve known that for some time now; however, the official menu — without prices for now– is now posted on Disneyland.com. Here’s a look at the flavor notes for both Blue and Green Milk! Milk Stand Menu screenshot Both beverages will be non-dairy (coconut and rice milks) and served frozen. A new cupcake can currently be found at The Mara in Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge. African Sunshine Cupcake And it’s hard not to notice it because the beautiful African Sunshine Cupcake is certainly eye-catching! The sign for the cupcake (which also lists it as $4.99 or a Disney Dining Plan snack credit) explains the inspiration behind the confection, noting that “Africa is the 10th largest producer of sunflowers in the world.” African Sunshine Cupcake sign The icing sunflower is created with a layer of fudge in the center covered by crisp candy pearls, all surrounded by yellow and green vanilla-flavored buttercream petals. African Sunshine Cupcake The chocolate cake base is further flavored with orange, and the citrus really bursts through in the taste! Disney has given out complimentary buttons for years, giving guests the chance to tell the world what they’re celebrating while on their vacation. These buttons can be found at locations like Guest Relations inside the parks. First Visit Celebration Buttons And a few days ago Disney added to that button collection by releasing a line of non-complimentary buttons that give guests even more celebration options. These NEW buttons feature Disney attractions and characters! Check those out here! Celebration buttons like these have been featured on sites like Etsy for the longest time, but Disney has finally hopped on the trend themselves. And just when we thought we had seen all the new celebration buttons…we spotted a snack pair perfect for food lovers like us! Celebration Buttons The pack comes with two buttons. The “I’m here for the SNACKS” button features a few iconic snacks that can be found throughout the parks like Dole Whip, a Mickey pretzel, and a Mickey caramel apple! Celebration Buttons And you KNOW we’re ALWAYS here for the MICKEY BARS! We found the buttons at the World of Disney store in Disney Springs…though we suspect that you can find them at other locations throughout Disney World as well. The pair of buttons is $9.99. Starting May 24th, guests at Disneyland Resort and Walt Disney World will be able to feast their eyes on some new merchandise. Disney is unveiling a series of limited-release Mickey Mouse Ear hats and Minnie Mouse Ear headbands designed by celebrities, designers and artists! Designer Ears ©Disney AND the Ears will also be available on shopDisney.com. Disney shares that the collection “will introduce signature elements of each collaborator to the iconic silhouettes of Mickey and Minnie for a never-before-seen look.” Designer Ears ©Disney New designs will be released each month. Designs will include, among others, a bridal-inspired design with hand sewn crystal and pearl embroidery by Vera Wang, a crystal-encrusted ear hat from The Blonds, a pink-puffed ear headband by Betsey Johnson, a mommy-and-daughter set by Cupcakes and Cashmere and a genuine crafted leather, floral-inspired ear headband by COACH. Heidi Klum has designed a pair which will be released this fall, and Karlie Kloss will release a pair in early 2020. Have you heard about the all-new Disney Parks Designer Collection? Today we’re back with another Disney Doodle from artist Ashley Taylor. In our Disney Doodles series, our Disney artists take turns imagining what different Disney characters would do or see first if they had the chance to visit a Disney park. Today, Ashley imagines what the characters from the 1988 television series “Chip ‘n Dale: Rescue Rangers” would do if they could visit Disney’s Animal Kingdom. The castle, which is the only royal residence at a Disney park that celebrates all the Disney Princesses, is not only visually beautiful, but packed full of fun.
