Oooh have we got a great new breakfast or snack option for you in Disney World’s Animal Kingdom! Get ready for some new eats in Animal Kingdom! If cinnamon is your jam, Isle of Java just introduced a sweet treat that needs to be on your “snacks to buy” list in AK. And wait until you hear about the dipping sauce! Let’s dive in… So I gotta give props to Isle of Java, who keep delivering with random baked goods that tbqh are more than you should expect from a theme park coffee kiosk. Isle of Java in Disney’s Animal Kingdom Today, we ran across some brand new mini cinnamon buns at this Joffrey’s location, and you know we had to get ’em. Cinnamon Mini Buns sign at Isle of Java And, yeah, even though we’d just stuffed ourselves at the brand new Restaurantosaurus Burgers and Sundaes dinner experience…we were totally glad we’d tried these little sweeties. Isle of Java Mini Cinnamon Buns The buns themselves were moist and substantial. Even though it was evening, we still had a decent couple of rolls here rather than a set of dry, crumbly, stale pastries (which, let’s be fair, most cinnamon buns have degraded to this point by early evening in other baked goods locations). A bun of substance Inside, again, a good amount of buttery moisture made this one worth the dough…in every respect. Inside the Mini Cinnamon Buns But let’s take a minute to talk about that dipping sauce. This isn’t your standard cream cheese dipping sauce (don’t get me wrong — I am NEVER going to throw shade at a cream cheese dipping sauce), but instead, here’s Animal Kingdom giving us a little something exotic. Coffee Caramel Dipping Sauce Coffee…Caramel? I mean…why hasn’t this been happening FOREVER? It’s different. It’s exotic. But it SHOULDN’T be…right? Coffee and caramel seem like they should be made for each other. And with this sauce, they were. The coffee was the stronger flavor here for sure, but the caramel flavor cut through the bitterness and brought the sweet. Overall the cinnamon buns are a (remarkably decent version of a) reliable, recognizable pastry, and that dipping sauce brings a fun, unique-but-shouldn’t-really-be-all-that-strange flavor to the mix. Are we singing about them from the rooftops? Nope. But when we find a cinnamon roll that can hold up to our scrutiny, we’re definitely going to mention it to you. You can grab them for $4.29 or a Disney Dining Plan snack credit. What’s your must-get Animal Kingdom snack? Let us know in the comments! Do you hear the thump thumping of big prehistoric feet and smell some incredible food grilling? Restaurantosaurus That’s right! We’re traveling back to the Mesozoic era in Animal Kingdom‘s Dinoland, U.S.A. to feast on some carnivorous and omnivorous eats at Restaurantosaurus‘s new dinner experience! While we’ve talked about how much we love the dino-themed quick-service location in our previous reviews, we were super excited to find out that they would be implementing a whole new dinner experience starting TONIGHT! Restaurantosaurus Atmosphere For a set price of $22.99 without tax per adult and $14.99 without tax per child aged 3-9 or a Disney Dining Plan quick-service credit, guests can select an entrée from a variety of burgers, a side dish, a token for a build-your-own-sundae bar, and a non-alcoholic drink. They had us at ice cream, tbh. Restaurantosaurus Entrance When we entered the restaurant, we checked in at a podium on the left side of room where we were greeted with a warm smile from the Cast Members. This is a podium dedicated only to the Burgers and Sundaes experience guests. Restaurantosaurus Dinner Check-In Note that Restaurantosaurus will continue to serve regular counter service options to other guests during this dining experience, but that Burgers and Sundaes folks will be seated in a special dining room. They handed us a small chalkboard with our name and table number and menus to glance through before placing our orders. Restaurantosaurus Regular Dinner Menu Restaurantosaurus Regular Dinner Menu There was even an allergy-friendly menu to accommodate guests further! Restaurantosaurus Allergy-Friendly Dinner Menu Restaurantosaurus Allergy-Friendly Dinner Menu Now there were many “magical moments” for us during the evening, but here’s the first: the burgers featured during the Restaurantosaurus dinner were developed by the same chef team who created D-Luxe Burgers at Disney Springs! YUM!! The burger blend is 7 ounces of seriously delicious brisket, short rib, and chuck. We settled on the Chili-Cheese (obviously we gotta have cheese) Corn Chips Burger and the Sunny-Side Up Burger. After placing our order with the Cast Member furthest to the left, we were given our ice cream tokens and our seater met with us to take us to our table. (How cute is this token?!?) Restaurantosaurus Ice Cream Token Along the way, she explained to us that there were unique dipping sauces we were welcome to help ourselves to (UM YES PLS ALL THE SAUCES)… Restaurantosaurus Dipping Sauce Station … cold and hot beverage cups were available by the drink station… Restaurantosaurus Drink Station …and that we could use the ice cream tokens to build our own dig site at the sundae bar after our meal! Adorbs. Restaurantosaurus Ice Cream Station After we sat down at our table and our chalkboard was taken from us… Restaurantosaurus Atmosphere …we were encouraged to doodle (and even write love notes to each other) with the white butcher paper and buckets filled with markers, crayons, and stencils. Table Doodle Bucket Table Doodle Bucket After all, the paleontologists who created the restaurant encourage guests to have a dino-mite time! Table Doodle Utensils Our Table Doodle! We were also told by our food runner that there wasn’t any outdoor seating for this experience at Restaurantosaurus. Instead, they stressed the benefit of AC and a fun meal without it being actual table service. We definitely didn’t mind staying out of the humidity, especially since it rained during our meal! Restaurantosaurus Dining Table Now let’s just talk about the cast members for a minute because THEY WERE AMAZING. So fun, so dedicated to making sure everyone had a great time, and 100% making the experience all that it could be. While we waited for our orders to arrive, cast members and managers kept walking around to check on tables and tell jokes to guests. “What’s a smart dinosaur called? A Thesaurus!” Restaurantosaurus Cast Member We hopped up over to check out the dipping sauces at the station. They had Buffalo, BBQ Mustard, Mayo Ketchup, and Horseradish sauces, all created by the same team who worked on the D-Luxe menu sauces! Dipping Sauces Okay, so we have to admit that Mayo Ketchup with its slightly sweet and slightly tangy taste and the BBQ Mustard with its smoky hints were our favorites, even though the Buffalo and Horseradish were still delicious. Dipping Sauces Moments after getting back to our table, we were surprised to have our food brought out so quickly (score a million for the chefs and food runners!!). Our Tasty Burgers! We started with the Chili-Cheese Corn Chip Burger… And, boy, did it taste like a grown-up sloppy joe! Chili-Cheese Corn Chip Burger The chili was seasoned beautifully and mixed with a hearty amount of sauce, meat, and more, but it never felt too heavy. Chili-Cheese Corn Chip Burger That bun was sturdy, you guys! No sloppiness here! Chili-Cheese Corn Chip Burger The Fritos on top added a satisfying crunch to every bite without getting soggy. Chili-Cheese Corn Chip Burger Chili-Cheese Corn Chip Burger The fries were basically steak fries — salty, thick, and ready to be dipped in as much sauce or chili as you like. Restaurantosaurus Fries Despite how yummy the Chili-Cheese Corn Chip Burger was, the Sunny-Side Up Burger was our favorite of the two (it was a hard decision to make!!). Sunny-Side Up Burger Each part of the burger was layered beautifully, making our mouths water before even tasting it! Sunny-Side Up Burger The mildly flavored cheese mixed well the the stronger tastes of the other ingredients. Sunny-Side Up Burger An ya gotta love that egg ooze. Sunny-Side Up Burger (Ugh, just look at all the peppered, eggy GOODNESS!!) Sunny-Side Up Burger D-luxe Burger in Disney Springs is known (to us at DFB anyway) for being one of the only places that doesn’t automatically cook your counter service burger to oblivion, and we appreciated that here as well. Sunny-Side Up Burger The chips placed on the bottom added some saltiness and texture to the soft burger. The onion rings were nice and crispy, although they tasted like typical counter service and not anything really special. Restaurantosaurus Onion Rings During our meal, we were told by the manager that they would be tentatively adding two bartenders to the staff at Restaurantosaurus so there would be one cocktail server to work the dining room and the other for quick-service. The same drinks served at Restaurantosaurus Lounge would be available during the dinner experience for an extra fee. Restaurantosaurus Lounge After our dinner plates were cleared, we were ready for our favorite part of the meal: ICE CREAM! Restaurantosaurus Ice Cream Station We took our tokens and were on our merry way to have a Cast Member give us the 2 scoops our coupon allowed. Restaurantosaurus Ice Cream Station The hand-scooped Edy’s ice cream featured regular flavors like Chocolate… Chocolate Edy’s Ice Cream … Vanilla… Vanilla Edy’s Ice Cream … Strawberry… Strawberry Edy’s Ice Cream … And a Raspberry Sorbet for guests with dietary restrictions and allergies. Raspberry Sorbet Edy’s Ice Cream But the real hero of the night: The SUNDAE TOPPING BAR! How much does my OCD brain love this map-o-toppings? SO. MUCH. Restaurantosaurus Sundae Topping Bar Hot Caramel and Hot Fudge were plentiful. Restaurantosaurus Sundae Topping Bar And then there was this sheer beauty. All the sauces, sprinkles, whipped cream, cherries, candy, and crunchies you could ever want — all there at the ready. These included chocolate chip cookies, whipped cream (x2), strawberry topping, pineapple topping, cherries, Mickey sprinkles, rainbow sprinkles, graham cracker crumbs, cake crumbs, fruity pebbles, M&Ms, chocolate cookie crumbles, chocolate rocks, waffle cone pieces, and (whew!) oreos. Restaurantosaurus Sundae Topping Bar Restaurantosaurus Sundae Topping Bar You can double up on flavors with your two scoops, so we chose vanilla and strawberry. Our Sundae Before And then aaaaaaaalmost used every topping in the haus. Our Sundae After I’m in love. Are you in love? Our Restaurantosaurus Build-Your-Own-Sundae Yeah — this whole situation was completely adorable, the cast members were wonderful, and we’d have no trouble at all coming back again! <3 Nosh or Not Restaurantosaurus’ new burgers and sundae bar experience will be great for you if: You’re in Animal Kingdom and are looking for a different take on counter service You love a good burger and are DONE with the “hockey puck special” you’ll get at most Disney counter service locations Your kiddo (or YOU) loves ice cream and can’t pass up a good sundae bar You want to take a little break in your touring, but don’t want to pay the prices for a table service restaurant You can skip this mesozoic meal if: You’re not a burger fan $22 for a counter service meal sounds over-the-top for your budget You’d rather mobile order, eat, and get back to the rides Overall We. Had. A. Blast. It was a very fun evening, and you could tell the cast members were having a great time with it. The food was remarkable (we love a good D-Luxe Burger and these were a super fun set of new options), and while the setting was still a counter service restaurant, we’ve never kept it a secret that we think Restaurantosaurus is an incredibly fun imagineering concept. But the thing that’s notable here is that this will be amazing for kids. The butcher paper and stencils, the sundae bar, the fun atmosphere — it’s perfect for your creative kiddo. And if mom and dad can have a great burger at the same time — SOLD. We’re not sure how long this experience will go on. It may be limited time during the Galaxy’s Edge crowd influx, or it may last a while longer. We’ll keep you updated here at DFB — see the link below to join our newsletter. Note that Pizzafari’s table-service dinner experience is still ongoing on the other side of Discovery Island, so it’s looking like Animal Kingdom continues to experiment with hybrid table service/counter service options for park guests. Let us know your thoughts on this! Have you gone to dinner at Restaurantosaurus yet? Let us know in the comments below! Happy Halloween (in August)! Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party When the end of summer hits and fall begins, we’re always more than ready to visit Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party. We hope you’re ready for a spoopy post because we went to the first party of the year (still in a candy daze tbh). We’re ready to tell you allll about this year’s entertainment offerings! We’ve seen plenty of delicious treats being featured at Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party and even some spine-chilling merch… But, now we have the deets on the spooktacular new fireworks, dance parties, parade floats, ride overlays, and MORE causing some toil and trouble over in Magic Kingdom. NEW Floats In The Boo-to-You Parade! The Boo-to-You Parade is one of our favorite parts of Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party! We love watching the floats and characters (looking at you and your spark-filled shovel choreo, Grave Diggers) travel down Main Street U.S.A dressed in their spooky finery. Although the parade begins at 9:15 and 11:15, we recommend that you find your spots at least 30 minutes beforehand. As always, the Headless Horseman starts off the parade with a terrifying ride through the route. Headless Horseman is the Harbinger of the Boo To You Parade After the horseman, the real spooks and ghouls start to come out! Boo-to-You Parade Mickey Mouse dressed in his vampire costume is one of the first character to greet guests during the parade. Look at that smile (and those pearly fangs)! Mickey Mouse And, all your favorite friends are back this year in their costumes! Pluto, Tigger, Pooh, and Friends! We’ve had to beware of Hitchhiking Ghosts, Grave Diggers, and Haunted Mansion Ballroom Dancers for a while now! But this year, you’ll also need to beware of the Spectral Bride who glides down Main Street U.S.A. along with the Haunted Mansion Ballroom Dancers. She lights up and is super cool…but SUPER hard to get a shot of in this light! If you want to photograph her, we recommend heading to a better lit area than we were in obvi. Spectral Bride Boo to You But that’s not all that’s new to Boo-To-You this year! There’s also a new Tomorrowland parade unit! That’s right, The Incredibles have joined the party! Incredibles Float Edna Mode would be happy to see that there are no capes on these supers! (By the way — peep Edna walking behind!) Incredibles Float Buzz Lightyear and the Aliens from Toy Story are additions to the parade as well. Toy Story Float We’re eternally grateful to see these little guys! Toy Story Float You’ll also spot fan-favorite, Wreck-it-Ralph! We think that he’s just a teensy bit too big for the Sugar Rush Delivery Car. Wreck-it-Ralph Au revoir, Admiral Underpants! We’re on our way to the rides!! Attraction Overlays Okay, so attraction overlays are pretty normal for the parties Disney offers… BUT there are some new scares on display for this year’s Halloween party! For the first time, the Monsters Inc. Laugh Floor pals interact with party guests as they learn about the Human World holiday known as Halloween. Monster’s Inc. Laugh Floor Halloween Overlay Guests receive candy at the beginning and end of the show, and you have the ability to come and go as you please. Monsters Inc Laugh Floor Trick Or Treat Trail That guy on the screen is buying churros for everybody!! (We’ll take 13.) And this one is fun and cute — especially for the kiddos. Plus treats at the beginning and the end — #worthitfortheAC. Monsters Inc Laugh Floor Trick Or Treat Trail In Liberty Square, you’ll have a chance once again to see the fabulous Madame Renata or her sister Carlotta as they continue to haunt the front yard of the Haunted Mansion. Madame Renata in front of the Haunted Mansion They’re kinda like the ghost version of Anastasia and Drizella, if you ask us! FYI, they don’t really do meet and greets, but they will entertain you while you wait in line at Haunted Mansion! Madame Carlotta outside the Haunted Mansion In Adventureland, the live pirates have made a triumphant return to Pirates of the Caribbean! Located in the queue and the ride, these pirates are on a mission! Pirates of the Caribbean This pirate told us that we could do a deal — we do all the work and he gets all the treasure. Um…sorry pegleg! Live Pirate from Pirates of the Caribbean Space Mountain is pitch black again this year. While you twist and turn through the darkness you can jam out to a new “high-energy soundtrack.” Space Mountain Overlay The only thing seriously scary about Space Mountain at the Halloween party was that the queue was pretty long for most of the night. So, if you want blast off into the stars, you’ll need to ride this attraction first thing when you get to the event. Space Mountain In Fantasyland, you can spin into madness on the Mad Tea Party as special lighting and music are back again this year. Mad Tea Party Overlay We have to say that Mickey’s Not-So-Scary just keeps getting curiouser and curiouser, especially with… Disney’s Not So Spooky Spectacular Fireworks The new show, Disney’s Not-So-Spooky Spectacular, is hosted by Jack Skellington himself! Unlike anything we’ve ever seen before, Jack is a life-size puppet that realistically walks, talks, and scares like the Pumpkin King. At 10:15, our journey begins with a rendition of “This Is Halloween” before Mickey, Minnie, Donald, and Goofy sing a trick-or-treat song. Disney’s Not So Spooky Spectacular An array of projections transform Cinderella Castle throughout the show with bursts of orange, red, yellow, and pink fireworks in the sky. Disney’s Not So Spooky Spectacular The Halloween story continues as our beloved characters come across Jack Skellington’s ghost-dog Zero… Disney’s Not So Spooky Spectacular … A haunted house full of skeletons… Disney’s Not So Spooky Spectacular … A montage of Disney villains, and more. Disney’s Not-So-Spooky Spectacular While the new show’s story wasn’t pieced together very well, the amount of fireworks (and the appearance of Jack) made our jaws drop with eerie excitement. Disney’s Not-So-Spooky Spectacular Make sure to snag a good view of the castle early for the Not-So-Spooky Spectacular! You’ll definitely want to see as much as possible, and now that the Halloween show actually relies on those projections (with HalloWishes, it didn’t really matter that much if you could see the castle itself), a castle view will be a benefit. Dance Parties Two dance parties take place in Tomorrowland! You’ll find the Monstrous Scream-O-Ween Ball at Rockettower Plaza Stage… Scream-O-Ween Dance Party in Tomorrowland … With friends like Boo, Mike, and Sulley doing their best Monster Mash! Scream-O-Ween Dance Party in Tomorrowland You can also check out the Disney Junior Dance Party at Storybook Circus in Fantasyland to groove with characters like… Disney Junior Dance Party at Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party … Fancy Nancy (she’ll teach you how to do a pirouette)… Fancy Nancy debuts at the Disney Junior Dance Party at Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party … Doc McStuffins… Doc McStuffins at the Disney Junior Dance Party at Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party … And Vampirina! Vampirina at the Disney Junior Dance party at Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party If you’re near Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Cafe, be sure to stop by the DescenDANCE Party! DescenDance Party at Cosmic Ray’s While we’ve seen this party at Disney Springs, it’s now at Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party so guests can get down and be rotten to the core. DescenDance Party at Cosmic Ray’s Learn more about the DescenDANCE Party here! Hocus Pocus Villain Spelltacular The Hocus Pocus Villain Spelltacular has returned once again to the Castle stage at 8:30, 10:45, and midnight to make your night run amuck, amuck, amuck! Hocus Pocus Villains Spelltacular Join Winifred, Sarah, and Mary as they try to gather ingredients for their spell with the help of villains like Oogie Boogie. We wonder if Thackery Binx still has their Spellbook… Oogie Boogie Holds Court At the Hocus Pocus Stage Show You can even purchase a new spirit jersey to represent the Sanderson Sisters with pride! Hocus Pocus Villain Spelltacular Spirit Jersey You’ll look younger by the morning in this spelltacular shirt! Character Meet-and-Greets You can meet a variety of characters throughout Magic Kingdom during Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party. Check the full brochure for all the character meet and greet locations! Who’s your favorite character to visit? MNSSHP 2019 Brochure — click to enlarge During the first party, we happened to spot the Seven Dwarfs (they NEVER meet together except at special events, so this is a LONG line)… Seven Dwarfs at MNSSHP … Alice and the Mad Hatter… Alice and Mad Hatter … Tweedle Dee, Tweedle Dum, and the Queen of Hearts… Tweedle Dee, Tweedle Dum, and the Queen of Hearts …and Tarzan and Jane! Aight, y’all — hide your puppies, ’cause Ms. Cruella reigns supreme at a NEW event debuting this year at Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party! Cruella’s Halloween Hide-a-Way Welcome to Cruella’s Halloween Hide-a-Way, a super-special event taking place each night of MNSSHP, where guests indulge in unlimited eats and treats as well as alcoholic beverages and soft drinks, get VIP viewing for the Boo to You Parade, AND get to hob-nob with Cruella herself! Today, we had the opportunity to check out this event for the very first time, so follow along with us to see if it’s worth spending your moolah AND your precious MNSSHP time on. This event kicks off at Tony’s Town Square Restaurant each party night at 9:30 PM. And much like Tony’s Most Merriest Town Square Party — which you can read our review of here from last year’s Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party — this extra-ticket event allows guests to come and go at their leisure from 9:30 PM-12:30 AM on the designated party night, noshing and sipping when they’re not watching the Boo to You Parade from a VIP vantage point. Cruella’s Halloween Hide-a-Way The exterior of Tony’s is decorated with a few pieces of fall decor as is the case with most Main Street USA edifices. Cruella’s Halloween Hide-A-Way We showed off our bands before gettin’ the party started. Cruella’s Halloween Hide-A-Way Tables have satin red runners and a centerpiece filled with black and white feathers. Cruella’s Halloween Hide-a-Way It wasn’t too over the top, but it did evoke Cruella. Cruella’s Halloween Hide-a-Way And the rooms also felt a bit more transformed and spooktacular thanks to the red uplighting. Cruella’s Halloween Hide-a-Way The event is filled with a bunch of sweet and savory eats, and there are both hot and cold food options (we’ll go through them all for you in a bit). Everything is served buffet style, so you can nosh on your own schedule. This broad buffet table offers antipasti, crudite, breads, meats and cheeses, and other appetizer options. It’s a good start, but don’t fill up too much here — there are more substantial hot food options that you need to try. Cruella’s Halloween Hide-a-Way Alcohol and beverages are included with your Cruella ticket, and there are two bars available to guests. One is located on the right as you walk into the restaurant, and the other is located in the enclosed porch area. Cruella’s Halloween Hide-a-Way The drink options included sodas, beers, and wines. The last call for alcohol came at 12:15 AM. A bar with freshly brewed Joffrey’s coffee is also set up in the main dining room. Cruella’s Halloween Hide-a-Way Talk about a midnight pick-me-up, right?! Cruella’s Halloween Hide-a-Way We kicked off the evening with a taste from the Witches Cauldron. The options included some super yummy Butternut Squash Ravioli, Fried Mozzarella, assorted Halloween Flatbreads, and more! Cruella’s Halloween Hide-a-Way The Fried Mozzarella is hand-breaded and served with marinara sauce. Cruella’s Halloween Hide-a-Way By far our fav food item of the night, the Butternut Squash Ravioli is mezzaluna ravioli with brown butter sauce, hazelnuts, crispy capicola, parmesan, and fresh sage. The flavors worked SO well together and we loved how the texture and ingredients complimented each other. Cruella’s Halloween Hide-a-Way Butternut Squash Ravioli We had the option of cheese and pepperoni flatbreads. These weren’t anything special. They were just meh. But they’d be a good option for those super picky eaters in your group. Cruella’s Halloween Hide-a-Way Pizza Flatbreads Another option is the Trio of Arancini. These fried rice balls were filled with braised beef, truffled mushroom, and fresh mozzarella. This was another one of our FAVORITES. They were warm and super yummy. They were also quick to eat, which is nice when you’ve spent cash money on a ticket for the MNSSHP party itself…and you’re trying to get your money’s worth from the hide-a-way event! Cruella’s Halloween Hide-a-Way Trio of Arancini And here are the ever-so-eerie Goblin Bites. These are mini meatballs on skewers. Good, but not Earth-shattering. Cruella’s Halloween Hide-a-Way Goblin Bites Now let’s explore the wickedly sweet dessert options. Cruella’s Halloween Hide-a-Way Desserts One of our favorites (getting points primarily for style) were the Dalmatian Chocolate-dipped Strawberries. Not only are they adorable, but the fruit was fresh and flavorful. Cruella’s Halloween Hide-a-Way Dalmatian Chocolate-dipped Strawberries You can also get yourself some of the Cruella Brownie Bites. Is it just me or does the icing look just like Cruella’s iconic hair? These were rich, but the flavors weren’t overpowering. Another great dessert option. But parents beware!! The icing will probably stain mouths, teeth, and hands as well as clothing. Cruella’s Halloween Hide-a-Way Cruella’s Brownie Bites Another dessert option were the Cannolis. Sadly, we weren’t too blown away by these. I think our reviewer’s exact words were “the cannoli would be insulting to anyone Italian.” Ouch. To put it nicely, the texture wasn’t authentic and the taste was bland. Cruella’s Halloween Hide-a-Way Cannolis And what would a Cruella party be without Kanine Krunchies? These are a spiced shortbread topped with every basic witch’s dream — pumpkin buttercream! Cruella’s Halloween Hide-a-Way Kanine Krunchies We also spotted some tiny Red Velvet Cheesecakes, and a fun Cruella-themed pushpop decorated with the villains iconic red shoe done in chocolate. And guess who was lurking at the back of the restaurant? Well, none other than Cruella herself! Hi Cruella!! She was available throughout the night for autographs and selfies. The hide-a-way was pretty crowded and the Cast Members did struggle to keep some of the food stocked. Mind you, this is the first night of the event…EVER! But knowing that this event is basically a carbon copy (sans themeing) of the Tony’s party during Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party last year, they should have the blueprint pretty well sorted out by now. Cruella’s Halloween Hide-a-Way Guests attending Cruella’s Hide-a-Way also have access to a reserved viewing area for “Mickey’s Boo-To-You” Halloween Parade. This viewing kicks off at 11:15 PM (it’s for the second parade of the night) and guests are welcome to keep coming and going to and from the Hide-a-Way until 12:30 AM — 30 minutes after the party officially ends. Boo-To-You The event is $99 per person and reservations for Cruella’s Halloween Hide-a-Way are available online or by calling (407) 939-3463. Is Cruella’s Halloween Hide-A-Way Worth It? OK, let’s recap: you’ve already paid nearly $100 for your Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party ticket. MNSSHP already offers more entertainment, events, rides, food, character meet and greets, and activities than anyone can feasibly pack into 5 hours; yet Disney’s suggesting you spend another $100 to dedicate some of your limited MNSSHP time at a cocktail party? It doesn’t reeeeeally make sense on the surface, so let’s dig into what the rationale might be for actually doing it. If the food had been amazing, we might recommend it a little more heartily; but while the food was fresh and respectable, it wasn’t something that merited paying this much money to NOT be at the Halloween party we already paid for. Now, Cruella herself is pretty cool. But not 100 extra dollars cool. Plus her line was super long most of the night. The VIP parade viewing? Very nice. But, let’s be honest — if you’re going to wait out the crowds until the second parade at MNSSHP, it’s pretty easy to get a good view (most people — especially families with small children — watch the first parade, the fireworks, and then leave…which means great vantage points for the second parade are pretty easy to find). The extra 30 minutes to nosh and drink after the party is officially over? Also a benefit. But last call for alcohol was at 12:15, and if you’ve waited until the very end of the night to eat the buffet food…well…you know you’re getting the leftovers since cast members aren’t bringing out fresh pans of eats at midnight when most of the guests have already gone. Soooo…we still can’t really figure out how the finances balance when it comes to booking these types of events, so your reasoning needs to be something that doesn’t have to do with making the party “worth it” in terms of cost. Maybe you love Cruella. Maybe you enjoy having a nice, air-conditioned spot to come back to throughout the evening where you can have a quick beer or glass of wine before heading back for more trick or treating. One of our reviewers remarked that she’d been to Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party several times in the past, and didn’t really need to do *everything.* So having the opportunity to have a meal, meet a villain, and get VIP parade viewing could be worth the money if you thought about it from that perspective. And that’s up to you to figure out — what’s right for YOU and your family. And we hope we’ve shown you enough to help you decide. Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party welcomed its first guests of the season tonight, and we were among those who came ready to party. And by party, we mean eat! Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party That’s because Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party kicks off a season of often intricate and always creative Halloween treats, some of them exclusive to the Party and others available all day every day (which, by the way, is our preferred schedule of eating snacks). So put on your costume with the stretchiest pants, and let’s taste our way through EVERY treat at Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party! Yep, we ate them ALL — every single Halloween treat at the Magic Kingdom. And we’ve got plenty of photos and thoughts to share about each one. Come along with us! Halloween Treats Available All Day Main Street Bakery Main Street Bakery is running wild with the Amuck, Amuck, Amuck Cupcake. Amuck Cupcake The first impression here is very good: it’s totally thematic and a cool design. The Sanderson Sisters are holding court over the cauldron, as well they should! Amuck Cupcake This all-day treat is Halloween in a cupcake with peanut butter chips, chocolate candies, and toffee baked in the vanilla cupcake itself. Amuck Cupcake The filling in the Amuck Cupcake is clearly labeled ‘caramel sauce,‘ which we expected to be oozy and unctuous like delicious witches’ brew. But in reality, the sauce immediately pooled at the bottom of the cupcake, causing it to fall apart as soon as we cut into it. Amuck Cupcake But the real showstopper here, in terms of appearances, is that cake cauldron on top! The colors are perfect for the holiday: bright, shimmering green and deep black. Amuck Cupcake But inside, there’s a little bit of cake surrounded by a ton of black frosting, so it’s also pretty gruesome. Beware your pearly whites; this frosting will stain your teeth! Amuck Cupcake You can read our full review of the Amuck Cupcake here! The Halloween Cinnamon Roll is a returning favorite (see our first taste of this beastly roll here!) and features a colossal Mickey cinnamon roll with orange icing and a chocolate spider web. Halloween Cinnamon Roll We’ve long said this cinnamon roll would be even better with an extra drizzle of chocolate on top, and we stand by that. But it’s still fantastic, and as an all-day treat, it’s big enough to share with your crew for breakfast, too. Casey’s Corner Casey’s is holding down the fort on a simple chocolate brownie. They offered up a Mickey-fied version of this treat for Mickey and Minnie’s Surprise Celebration in May (see it here) and a Minnie Mouse version at last year’s Halloween Party (check that out here), but for the fall season, it’s Donald in a pumpkin. Donald Duck Brownie This straightforward sweet treat is a fudgey chocolate brownie in the Disney-ubiquitous black ramekin topped with vanilla buttercream and a white chocolate medallion featuring our favorite duck. Donald Duck Brownie This just so happens to be one of our favorite quick-service desserts. If you’re Halloween Party-ing with a picky eater, send them to Casey’s for this one. FYI — while this isn’t a Halloween item (it’s for Gay Days in Disney World) — Casey’s is also selling a Rainbow Glow Cube. Check out more views of this cool collectible here! Rainbow Glow Cube Storybook Treats The Maleficent Cone is taking over Storybook Treats once again! Maleficent Cone This is a black waffle cone filled with lime soft serve. It’s topped with chocolate horns and a bit of purple sugar. As ice cream treats go, this one is pretty refreshing with a decent hit of citrus. But we’re in it for the chocolate horns, anyway. Note that this time around (the Maleficent cone has been back several times through the past couple of years), the cone seems squatter and wider. It looks like the same amount of lime dole whip inside, but the cone is shaped slightly differently. Maleficent Cone Auntie Gravity’s Galactic Goodies We are ballistically excited for Auntie Gravity’s Galactic Goodies this year because she. is. bringing. the. spice! Pumpkin Spice Soft Serve Sundae, to be exact! Pumpkin Spice Sundae This is a swirl of pumpkin spice soft serve (yes!) topped with caramel sauce and candy corn. We loved this! The pumpkin spice flavors come through in the creamy ice cream, and the caramel adds just a hint of butteriness. Pumpkin Spice Sundae All in all we were big fans. (Hate candy corn? Ask for this one without!) Pumpkin Spice Sundae But Auntie is taking care of the PSL lovers this year because she’s also churning out a Pumpkin Spice Milkshake! Pumpkin Spice Milkshake Auntie has upped her fall milkshake game in 2019; last year she was serving up a Candy Corn Milkshake (check that out here), but this one is a lot more enjoyable. Again, the spices come through (it’s the same soft serve as the sundae — just blended). Pumpkin Spice Milkshake And to top it off, there’s a Mickey marshmallow straw. (That’s a Mickey marshmallow on a wide paper straw, not a straw made of marshmallow which… can we get one of those? Trick or treat?) Pumpkin Spice Milkshake The Pumpkin Spice Milkshake is listed as gluten-friendly, but be sure to ask about the candy garnish and the marshmallow! Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party Exclusive Treats Party-exclusive treats are just that: available only at the Party in a variety of locations. These are not included with the cost of admission; they’re all an extra cost. But in many cases, they are so worth it. Casey’s Corner For party exclusives at Casey’s you’ll find the “Now Begin Thy Magic Spell” drink…which, we admit, is a little clunky as far as names go. Even for Halloween. Now Begin Thy Magic Spell Slush This one was straight up cherry slush — pre-mixed in the slush machine — so there wasn’t a lot of “depth” to it, shall we say? Pretty much just tasted the cherry here — not a lot of the passion fruit, sprite, or lemonade came through. Now Begin Thy Magic Spell Slush But the white-chocolate-dipped (or completely dunked, in this case) apple slice was a fun ghostly touch. Pecos Bill Tall Tale Inn and Cafe Pecos Bill Tall Tale Inn and Cafe is serving up two Party-exclusive goodies. Hades Nachos have burned their way back in 2019 (we first enjoyed them last year). Hades Nachos are a base of black bean tortilla chips topped with Buffalo chicken, “plastic” nacho cheese, and anything you wanna add from the Fixin’s Bar. Hades Nachos We do love a nacho, and these are a great savory addition to the Party. They also bring a bit of heat with that Buffalo chicken, so do be prepared for some fiyah. Also at Pecos Bill’s is a sweet offering called Billy’s Worms & Dirt. Last year the Worms ‘n’ Dirt here wasn’t specially Billy’s, but we appreciate the addition of William “Billy” Butcherson (of Hocus Pocus fame!) to the dish. Billy’s Worms ‘n’ Dirt The Worms ‘n’ Dirt are made with “gluten friendly” cake crumbs, chocolate pudding, gummy worms, and a white chocolate tombstone. But if you’re gluten intolerant, be sure to double check! Billy’s Worms ‘n’ Dirt This is another simple sweet, and we love it for that. Something about worms ‘n’ dirt brings us straight back to childhood, and now we’re ready for more trick-or-treating, thank you. Golden Oak Outpost Golden Oak Outpost is serving a trio of Party bites and bevs: a Caramel Pretzel, Cinnamon Donuts, and Frozen Apple Cider. The Cinnamon Donuts were available at last year’s Party (check them out here)! Cinnamon Donuts They’re still fried golden brown and coated in tasty cinnamon sugar. The Warm Caramel-Stuffed Pretzel is another repeat offering. It’s a big, doughy pretzel with a ribbon of caramel stuffed into its center. Warm Caramel Stuffed Pretzel This is a balance of sweet and savory with a heavier lean toward savory, so if you’re looking to get away from the sweets a little, and you’re a big fan of pretzels, this is a good option. Warm Salted Caramel-Stuffed Pretzel Golden Oak’s final Halloween Party item is a Frozen Apple Cider. Last year the cider here was chilled (just served over ice), so the Frozen version is a slushy step beyond. Frozen Apple Cider We found this to be refreshing for its soft-frozen consistency, but it doesn’t come across as a rich, flavorful cider. It’s more like apple juice, and we think it’s likely because of the slushy preparation. Still, if you love slushies, you’ll enjoy this one. Just don’t go in hoping for that quintessential cider flavor. Sleepy Hollow Haunting the Party at Sleepy Hollow is the Headless Horseman Cheesecake. This is layers of chocolate mousse and chocolate cake coated in bright orange mirror glaze. (We saw a similar creation a couple of years ago at Gaston’s Tavern.) Headless Horseman Pumpkin Cheesecake Inside the cheesecake are chocolate crunchies, which add some needed pops of texture in the soft-on-soft creation. Headless Horseman Pumpkin Cheesecake It’s topped with a chocolate Headless Horseman piece printed with his arm holding a spooky jack o’lantern, and a dollop of pumpkin spice cream. The texture of this is closer to the Satu’li Canteen Blueberry Cheesecake than dense, rich cheesecake; but if you are looking for a soft chocolate mousse, this is tasty. Headless Horseman Pumpkin Cheesecake Sleepy Hollow also has — as per usual — a Mickey Waffle Sundae, this time in Chocolate. In the past we’ve seen pumpkin-flavored waffle sundaes here (and red velvet for the winter holidays), so we were excited to see how black chocolate waffles tasted. Turns out, they’re fairly subtle (unfortunately the black color seems to be mostly from food coloring, not chocolate itself). Chocolate Mickey Waffle Sundae But the pumpkin gelato served with the sundae: YES! The frozen consistency of the gelato makes it seem much lighter than the mousse in the Pumpkin Cheesecake, and it’s really delicious. Chocolate Mickey Waffle Sundae We’re saying you’ll probably go for the chocolate Mickey Waffles but stay for the pumpkin gelato. Liberty Square Popcorn Cart Liberty Square’s Popcorn Cart is just a stone’s throw away from the Haunted Mansion (a must at the Halloween Party!), and you’re definitely going to want to find it. The cart is selling Constance’s For Better or For Worse Wedding Cake. Constance’s for Better or For Worse Wedding Cake You’ll recognize Constance as the murderous bride from the Mansion’s attic scene, and her cake is killin’ it, too. This is a mini tiered citrus cake layered with raspberry Bavarian cream, covered in glacage (mirror glaze), and decorated with buttercream pearls and flowers. Constance’s For Better or For Worse Wedding Cake For the final grisly touch: a chocolate axe! Yeah, we get the point: this wedding cake comes with a side of terror! Constance’s For Better or For Worse Wedding Cake Kudos to the Magic Kingdom bakery team on this one! Brilliant and delicious. Storybook Treats Fantasyland’s Storybook Treats will begin offering a Party-exclusive treat in September. It’s called Snake Eyes, and it looks funky! This bright-green concoction is a mix of Sprite, lime soft serve, and green apple flavoring. It’s garnished with gummy worms and light-up dice (hello, souvenir!). Snake Eyes We’ll be back for a review just as soon as it’s ready for guests to roll the dice! Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Cafe Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Cafe is offering the Berry Blaster, a glass of purple goodness that combines blue curacao, cherry lemonade, and Sprite. A garnish of lemon and raspberries basically clues you in to the flavor game here: berry with a hint of citrus. But because it’s Sprite rather than lemonade, the Berry Blaster manages to be sweet rather than sour. Berry Blaster This is refreshing and tasty; get this if you’re in need of hydration in Tomorrowland. Berry Blaster And to chase your Berry Blaster: the Lots-O-Burger! We’ve seen Lots-O used as culinary inspiration before (see him at Disneyland Resort’s Pixar Fest here), and the presentation uses a similar technique to the Mickey’s Surprise Celebration Cheesburger we saw branded earlier this year. Lots-O-Burger The Lots-O-Burger is topped with brie fondue, an onion ring, and strawberry-bacon jam. Don’t worry: the strawberry is balanced out by the bacon in a delicious combination that doesn’t make this treat too sweet. (Remember the tasty strawberry glaze we tried at Backlot Express not too long ago? Turns out strawberry is delicious when it goes savory!) Lots-O-Burger If you’re looking for a tasty savory meal during the Party, the Lots-O-Burger is a good option! Aloha Isle You arrrrrrrrg going to want to try the Pirate’s Horizon at Aloha Isle. This drink combines pineapple, orange, and passion fruit juices on ice with a wedge of pineapple. Pirate’s Horizon Though the Halloween Party is a nighttime affair, we loved this bright, sunshiney drink! But it DID get super sweet and syrupy there at the end, so after you take your sunset shot, stir this one a bit before tasting. Pirate’s Horizon Cool Ship Hades is keepin’ it spicy with his nachos over at Peco Bill’s, but at Cool Ship, the Hades Hatred beverage combines lemonade and (non-alcoholic) blue curacao with blueberry popping pearls and a swath of blue cotton candy. Hades Hatred In addition to its fun aesthetics, Hades Hatred is pretty tasty…once you get over the incredible sweetness that is cotton-candy-melted-in-your-drink! Hades Hatred Yep, this tasted like straight up blueberry sprite. But note that there weren’t any straws available at Cool Ship when we were there, so you may have to go begging at another counter service spot to actually drink this one through the cotton candy! Hades Hatred Cinderella Castle Snack Carts The Jack Skellington Push Pop is returning to the Party, and this year he’ll be found at snack carts near Cinderella Castle. Jack Skellington Push Pop Jack is comprised of layers of chocolate cake, vanilla buttercream, white and dark chocolate crisp pearls, and dark chocolate curls. We preferred Jack last year to the year previous (panna cotta blech), so we’re glad the push-pop features buttercream once again. But Jack’s not alone this year! You can also get a Sally Cake Pop (!!!) at the Castle Carts, and this one is gluten-friendly! Sally Push Pop Sally’s presentation is gluten-friendly vanilla cake, buttercream, and strawberry crispy pearls. Very simple — but delicious! That said, the gluten-friendly cake was very crumbly versus moist, so be prepared for that! Sally Push-Pop The tiny pops of strawberry from the crispy pearls is fun and fruity. If you’re after simple flavors, definitely get this one (even if gluten is your BFF). Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party Souvenir Buckets and Sippers Lucky for us, Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party always brings the fun with themed souvenirs, and this year is no exception. Note that for all of the items below, Disney Parks Blog didn’t say where or even when these will be available (they only said “throughout the season”), but we’ll make note of where we spot them! We’re starting with what’s sure to be the most coveted of all the souvenirs: the Hitchhiking Ghosts Collection! @DiningInDisney found this trio in Disneyland Resort last week, and now they’re available on the east coast, too! AND, we DID see them available at MNSSHP tonight! Hitchhiking Ghost Souvenir Collection Gus was at Golden Oak Outpost, Ezra was at Pecos Bill’s, and Phineas was at Liberty Square popcorn cart and Pecos Bill’s! Lines were SUUUUPER long, though, so if you want these guys, get ’em right away when you get to the park. Here are some things to know: Phineas and Gus are buckets, and Ezra is a sipper (you can see the straw popping through Ezra’s hat). Click here to read all about these super cool collectibles! Hitchhiking Ghosts Collection This year there’s also a Mickey Pumpkin Balloon Popcorn Bucket, too. We LOVE a Mickey Balloon Popcorn Bucket, and this one is for sure made for displaying at home all season long! This was also available at the party tonight — we found it at the Castle popcorn cart, and at Storybook Treats popcorn cart. Mickey Pumpkin Balloon Bucket Oogie Boogie is back to his popcorn bucket roots, but this time the design is a little more…ahem…in your face! Oogie Boogie Popcorn Bucket See? It’s his face! As per usual, Oogie Boogie is a popular ghoul, so grab him when you see him! And finally, brace yourself. Because “what’s this” is a Jack Skellington Sipper! Yeah, everyone’s freaking about him. We’ll let you know when we see him! Jack Skellington Sipper He’ll sell out fast, we’re certain! That’s it from the very first Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party! Be sure to check out DFB’s full coverage, including Halloween Party merchandise, entertainment, and special events! And stay tuned to the DFB Guide YouTube channel where we’ll be posting lots of video from the Party, too! Will you be attending Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party this year? Are you grabbing an all-day snack while you’re in Magic Kingdom this season? Let us know what you’re looking forward to eating in the comments below! Note that while DFB did have a reporter at a Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party media event this evening, all of these food reviews were done by a separate DFB reporter who had purchased a ticket for entry to the party. All food items reviewed were purchased by DFB. The opening day for the 2019 International Epcot Food and Wine Festival is almost here! Epcot’s International Food and Wine Festival We know there are TONS of new booths and menu items hitting the promenade this year — from that AH-MAZING Raclette cheese at the Alps Booth to our-brand-new-favorite Mule Beer at Coastal Eats! And we TOTALLY got the chance to try a ton of them today! We can’t wait to share our reviews and photos with you! Let’s take a look at some of the NEW items making their way to the 2019 International Food and Wine Festival. And fair warning, my friends, proceed with caution as you may leave this post hungrier than you expected! Food and Wine Festival New Booths to the 2019 Food and Wine Festival The Alps Calling all cheese lovers!! This is THE booth for you. The Alps is a new booth addition this year where you’ll find Swiss-inspired dishes like a Venison Stew with Crushed Potatoes and…be still my little cheese-lovers heart…a Warm Raclette Swiss Cheese with Baby Potatoes, Cornichons, and a Baguette. Warm Raclette Swiss Cheese So in addition to trying the raclette, we got to see what the process will be in the booth for scraping that gorgeous cheese from the melty block of raclette! It’s SO COOL! Check out our social media channels to see it in action! The Alps Anyway, the raclette — don’t miss it! One of the new desert options will be the Blueberry and Almond Frangipane Tart. This is made with crème fraîche and Blue Diamond® Almonds. This one was very light and our reviewers loved it. The pastry cream was very flavorful — perfect with the fruit! Blueberry and Almont Frangipane The Alps will also serve Rosé De Gamay. Rose Gamay You can view the full 2019 Food and Wine Festival Alps menu here! Appleseed Orchard Appleseed Orchard is another new booth addition to the Food and Wine Festival. Here, you will find a Charcuterie and Cheese Plate that features Burton’s Maplewood Farm Applejack Brandy Barrel Aged Maple Syrup and Caramel-Apple Popcorn. Appleseed Orchard Sign The apple-inspired beer flight was pretty dangerous considering it tasted like straight apple juice!! So GOOD but BEWARE!! Apple Cider Flight Check out the full NEW Appleseed Orchard booth menu here! The Donut Box Now, y’all, CHECK IT OUT! If you were wondering what happened to all the cronuts this year…we’ve got the answer! Another new booth was JUST announced! The Donut Box will open at the festival on October 1st…and it sounds like it’s replacing Taste Track, which always offered the festival cronut options! This location will have a Black and White Coffee Cocktail garnished with a fresh yeast donut sprinkled with chocolate espresso bean crumbles. This was our favorite of the alcoholic options we tried today. Though it was STRONG, we loved the flavors and SUPER LURVED the donut. (True, it’s not a cronut…so maybe cronuts have had their day at Disney. We’ll keep you updated.) Black and White Coffee Cocktail The Donut Box will also have a Sweet Corn Fritter with Fresno and red pepper jelly, Strawberry-dusted Yeast Donut Holes, and a Strawberry Smoothie made with Blue Diamond Breeze Almondmilk®. There will also be festival exclusive beer called Boston Cream Donut Ale created by Central 28 Beer Company (DeBary, Fla.). Looking forward to that last one… . You can read more about The Donut Box here! Cool Wash Mo’ Betta’ with the extra booths!! We’ve got another new addition JUST ANNOUNCED today! Cool Wash — which is an existing location at Epcot — will be transformed into a new booth experience for the Food and Wine Festival this year. Cool Wash Here you will be able to create frozen beverages with slushy flavors like Orange Cream and Blue Raspberry. There will also be a bunch of fun mix-ins like Swedish Fish, Boba Pearls, Jelly Drops, and Pop Rocks! Get your kids ready for some SURRIOUS SUGAR. You can read more about Cool Wash here! Returning Booths with New Menu Items Thailand Thailand will be serving up a Shrimp with a Cold noodle salad. Thailand Festival Booth This looks very similar to the one served last year, but this time no scallop cake is being served with the dish. Shrimp and Cold Noodle Salad The sauce was excellent and the shrimp were a good size. But overall the dish wasn’t super memorable on this go ’round. Check out the full Thailand booth menu here! Islands of the Caribbean The Islands of the Caribbean will be serving up their Jerk-spiced Chicken in an all-new way this year. You can expect to see this fan-favorite grilled ON STAGE! The Jerk-spiced Chicken is served with roasted sweet plantain salad and mango chutney. Islands of the Caribbean Booth Last year it was served as a lollipop; but the presentation seems to be a bit different this year, likely thanks to how it’s being cooked. Spiced Jerk Chicken Read our Jerk Chicken review here!! Africa A new vegan dish to Africa is the Spicy Kenyan Vegan Githeri with white beans, pigeon peas, curry rice pilaf, and kachumbari slaw. Africa Festival Booth We thought that this was extremely flavorful without being heavy. It’s a great option when you want a substantial dish without being weighed down. Spicy Kenyan Vegan Githeri Take a look at the 2019 Africa booth menu here! Coastal Eats New to the Coastal Eats menu this year is the Pacifico Striped Bass Tostada with slaw and fire-roasted tomatillo sauce. Coastal Eats The Pacifico Striped Bass Tostada had a little bit of heat, which we were totally there for. We also really enjoyed the crunch that the tostada added and we loved the flavors of the sauces. Pacifico Striped Bass Tostada Short’s Brewing Co. Mule Beer is a festival exclusive. We thought that this drink tasted JUST LIKE a Moscow Mule and we think it will be a great option to cool guests down during the early (still WAY HOT) days of the festival. Mule Beer Check out the full Costal Eats menu here! Active Eats Looking for a mid-day pick-me-up?! 2018 Active Eats Then head over to Active Eats for their new Fruit and Nut Snack Bar. This is made with pecans, almonds, toasted coconut, chocolate chips, and drizzled chocolate on top. This one was crunchy and fun, but has enough protein from the nuts to keep you going around the showcase. It’s a fun option for kids to get into the mix. Fruit and Nut Energy Bar You can view the full 2019 Active Eats booth menu here! Australia Australia is servin’ up the new Deconstructed Pavlova, which is made with pastry cream, citrus-macerated berries, and lemon myrtle meringue. Australia Booth We loved the crunch from the meringue and the fruit was uber fresh and delish! But I’m intrigued to see the price point on this. It’d better not be too over the top for a few berries and some sugar-air… . Just sayin’. Deconstructed Pavlova You can view the entire Australia menu here! Shimmering Sips Mimosa Bar Disney has brought back three of last year’s most popular mimosas to the Shimmering Sips Mimosa Bar, the Topical, Blood Orange, and Key Lime. Shimmering Sip Mimosa Bar And this year they have decided to make a flight out of them! So you will get 4oz of each! Mimosa Flight The mimosas were all super sweet and we could hardly taste the alcohol at all! So be careful with this one! You can read our 2018 Shimmering Sips Mimosa Bar review here! So two BRAND NEW booths and several brand new items? Not a bad evening if we do say so ourselves! Remember to go check out ALL the menu items at the 2019 Epcot Food and Wine Festival HERE, and follow DFB on August 29th as we eat EVERYTHING at the festival…and share all the photos with YOU! Which item are you most excited to try? Let us know in the comments below! While The Haunted Mansion is spooky year-round, it becomes ten times eerier with the addition of ghouls and ghosts during Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party. And, this party-exclusive dessert is giving us hot and cold running chills! The Haunted Mansion Tombs Constance’s For Better or For Worse Wedding Cake has materialized at the Liberty Square Popcorn Corn, ready for sorry guests to fall madly in love with it. Liberty Square Popcorn Cart Treat Sign The citrus-scented cake is topped with raspberry Bavarian cream, glaçage and buttercream pearls, decorative flowers, and a chocolate axe. Constance’s Wedding Cake This cake was very moist and delicious. Just a slight amount of the citrus flavor came through, so it wasn’t overwhelming. The raspberry flavor was light as well, but we could still taste it. There was only a tiny amount of buttercream on the outside, and we wish there had been more to balance out the other fruity flavors. Constance’s Wedding Cake The dessert itself was very wiggly, almost like it was scared of Constance herself! Constance’s Wedding Cake You can take a bite of this terrifying treat for $7.50 or a Disney Dining Plan snack credit during Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party! We’re about to give ya pumpkin to talk about! Auntie Gravity’s The Halloween treats in Magic Kingdom are some of our favorites during the year. While we’ve already seen the Pumpkin Spice Milkshake, Auntie Gravity’s Galactic Goodies is also creating the perfect swirl with the Pumpkin Spice Soft-serve Sundae! Pumpkin Spice Sign at Auntie Gravity’s The pumpkin-flavored soft-serve ice cream is topped with caramel sauce and candy corn and is served in your choice of a cup or a cone. Pumpkin Spice Soft-Serve Sundae We personally looove pumpkin-flavored treats, but this sundae outdid itself. The ice cream lightly tasted of pumpkin spice mixed with sweet cream. Also, the caramel sauce mixed beautifully with the sundae. The candy corn on top was a nice chewy finish to complement the pumpkin ice cream. Pumpkin Spice Soft-Serve Sundae You can get this AMAZING sundae throughout the Halloween season Auntie Gravity’s for $5.49 or a Disney Dining Plan snack credit. You can never have too much pumpkin spice, right?! Are you celebrating the start of the Halloween season in Disney World? Let us know in the comments below! Related posts: Review! We have rarely been so excited about a milkshake in Disney World, you guys… Auntie Gravity’s Galactic Goodies And, do you want to know why? We’ll give you one hint: it’s our favorite fall flavor!! The Pumpkin Spice Milkshake is now available at Auntie Gravity’s Galactic Goodies in Magic Kingdom! Pumpkin Spice Sign at Auntie Gravity’s The pumpkin-flavored shake is topped with whipped cream and candy pumpkins, and is accompanied by a Halloween straw and a marshmallow Mickey! Pumpkin Spice Milkshake It looks similar to last year’s Candy Corn Milkshake, but the flavor is completely different. The Pumpkin Spice Milkshake tasted like a frozen pumpkin pie (!!) right down to the whipped cream on top. The only things that made it different from a real pie — y’know, other than the fact that it’s a milkshake — were the sweet candy pumpkins and soft marshmallow. But, we LOVED them and thought they completed the treat. Pumpkin Spice Milkshake You can get the new shake throughout the Fall season at Auntie Gravity’s for $7.99 or a Disney Dining Plan snack credit. And, if you’re going to Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party, this is the perfect drink to start off your spooky night! Pumpkin Spice Milkshake Stay tuned to Disney Food Blog as we review even MORE Halloween treats, like the Amuck Cupcake! Have you tried the Pumpkin Spice Milkshake? Let us know in the comments below! And now, less than two weeks from opening, here’s more! Two additional new marketplaces – The Donut Box and Cool Wash – will debut Oct. 1 with sweet eats and refreshing sips. Disney chefs have harnessed their creative energies for a festival spin on the donut craze, producing irresistible marketplace goodies that include a Black and White Coffee Cocktail garnished with a fresh yeast donut sprinkled with chocolate espresso bean crumbles. Also on the menu is a Strawberry Smoothie made with Blue Diamond Breeze Almondmilk® and an exclusive festival beer called Boston Cream Donut Ale (yes, we said “donut ale”!) from Central 28 Beer Company, located in DeBary, Fla. Cool Wash will be a chill stop where you can create your own frozen beverages with slushy flavors ranging from Blue Raspberry to Orange Cream.
