  3. By day, the iconic, towering Cadillac Range mountains in Cars Land at Disney California Adventure park serve as a majestic backdrop for Radiator Springs Racers. By night during the Halloween season, the setting magically transforms with spook-tacular light effects. All of Cars Land is transformed with a special Haul-O-Ween makeover as the townsfolk of Radiator Springs don Halloween costumes and decorate their respective homes for the season. In addition, popular attractions transform as well: Mater’s Junkyard Jamboree takes on a spooky tone as Mater’s Graveyard JamBOOree, and Luigi’s Rollickin’ Roadsters gets a seasonal twist to become Luigi’s Honkin’ Haul-O-Ween. Halloween Time at the Disneyland Resort is only haunting the parks until Oct. 31! View the full article

  8. According to Orange County Registry, in an effort to avoid another measle outbreak that effected over 100 guests at the Disneyland Resort back in 2014, the Los Angeles County health officials have issued a warning to anyone who’s been to Disney’s Anaheim theme park recently. Sleeping Beauty Castle at Disneyland They’ve just reported that a person infected with measles was at Disneyland just over one week ago, and guests who were also visiting that day may have been unknowingly exposed. The measles exposure advisory that was issued stated the infected person visited Disneyland on October 16th and guests who were at the park that day may have been exposed to the virus. Symptoms of the infection could develop up to 21 days from initial exposure. Hyperspace Mountain Health officials went on to report the infected guest was at Disneyland park from 9:15 AM and 8:35 PM on Wednesday, October 16th. In addition to this confirmed case of measles exposure, a person infected with measles also visited a Palms-area Starbucks coffee shop at 3006 S. Sepulveda Blvd. in Los Angeles between 7:50 and 10 AM on Wednesday, October 16. Adventureland entrance If you were at either of these places and are concerned you may have been exposed, you should contact your healthcare provider for immediate assistance. If you have not been immunized, the CDC urges everyone to get their measles shot to prevent the spread of this virus. Source: Orange County Register Have you recently visited Disneyland? 9. We here at DFB are no strangers to food hacks in the parks! Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run in Disneyland’s Galaxy’s Edge We’ve shared the delicious Churro Sundae, Mickey Ear Cookie Ice Cream Sandwich, and even the Blue and Green Milk Parfait creations that we’ve discovered so you can treat yo’self too! And, we’re back in Batuu to give you a li’l peak at our latest Disneyland food hack (warning: your mouth might start watering). Kat Saka’s Kettle in Galaxy’s Edge just debuted the most LIFE-CHANGING chocolate popcorn EVER. It’s seriously incredible and you have to eat it ASAP. Chocolate Popcorn at Kat Saka’s Kettle debuted just last week! BUT. We just made it even better! The AH-MAZING result of our poppin’ idea was the… drum roll please… Cheesy Chocolate Caramel Popcorn!!! Yeah, it tastes just as good as it sounds! And, it’s an extremely simple hack that’s easy breezy to get. We TOLD You Your Mouths Would Start Watering! Step 1: Popcorn Carts When you first enter Disneyland, you’ll want to stop at one of the multiple quick-stop popcorn carts to pick up the Caramel and Cheese Popcorn. Caramel and Cheese Popcorn A super sweet/salty hack all on it’s own. BUT THEN… Step 2: Kat Saka’s Kettle Now that you’ve got your first few flavaahhs, the finishing touch on this tasty snack is over in Batuu. Time to pick up some of that amazing Chocolate Popcorn over at Kat Saka’s that reminded us of cocoa puffs in the best way possible. After you pick up the sweet popcorn bag for $6.49 (actually, get two; one to eat now, and one for the hack), you’re ready for the third and final step. Chocolate Popcorn Step 3: Get Mixin’! Look at all that caramel, chocolate, and cheese goodness!! A Masterpiece in the Works! The trifecta of flavors was seriously satisfying. Every bite had a burst of sweetness from the caramel and chocolate, saltiness from the popcorn, and cheesiness from that incredible cheddar dusting. Cheesy Chocolate Caramel Popcorn The snack combo fills an entire R2-D2 bowl, so it’s perfect for movie night or game time (or those Halloween and Holiday parties we know you’re plannin’!). And guess what…ain’t NOBODY gonna have THIS amazingness at their party except YOU! (It’s OK. You can take credit for it.) 10. The holidays can be such a fun and exciting time…especially when Disney announces its special holiday dining offerings! Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party We haven’t made it through Halloween or Thanksgiving yet, but Disney has us in anticipation of the holiday season with the release of two new Christmas Day menus. There’s much to look forward to during the holidays at Walt Disney World. Between Epcot’s Festival of the Holidays, Disney Springs Christmas Tree Trail, and Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party in Magic Kingdom, there should be plenty to DO and EAT during the season. Disney Springs Christmas Tree Trail 2018 Read our Ultimate Guide to Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party HERE! We’ve already shared with you the newly released Christmas Day menu at Raglan Road Irish Pub & Restaurant, and now we’re excited to share with you the Christmas Day menus for two more restaurants at Disney Springs — Terralina Crafted Italian and Paddlefish. Available exclusively on Christmas Day, December 25th, Terralina Crafted Italian will be offering up a Braised Veal Osso Bucco. Priced at $48.00, it is served over Gorgonzola polenta and sautéed escarole topped with sage gremolata. Enjoy Dinner here on Christmas Day! Also available exclusively on Christmas Day, December 25th, Paddlefish will be offering a King and Snow Crab Boil. Priced at $60.00, the dish consists of Dutch Harbor King, Canadian Snow, sweet corn, red potatoes, and cornbread. Paddlefish These join what we think is an already incredible lineup of holiday dishes available on Thanksgiving and Christmas Day at Walt Disney World. Check Out Thanksgiving Day Menus Here! 11. “Avenger” fans assemble! Guests of all ages can now build and buy their own Super Hero gauntlet at Super Hero Headquarters at Disney Springs. Here’s how it works: Stark Industries has created a selection of gauntlet modules inspired by Captain America, Hulk, Iron Man and Spider-Man. Guests choose four modules to add together to create their own unique gauntlet inspired by their favorite hero – or mix together modules that represent multiple heroes. The modules they choose determine the voice, sound effects and the color of light of the gauntlet. Guests can even add an optional launcher that shoots button activated projectiles. Check out the video above, in which a few brave fans test out the process! View the full article
  12. As we reported to you earlier, Disney World has removed several of the Star Wars-themed names from its menu lunch and dinner items at Docking Bay 7 Food and Cargo. Docking Bay 7 Breakfast Menu And while the names on Docking Bay 7’s breakfast menu were also altered, the items still have Star Wars-themed titles unlike their lunch and dinner counterparts — weird, right? We also noticed some changes to the price and ingredients listed for Docking Bay 7’s Tuggs’ Overnight Oats — formerly known as Rising Moons Overnight Oats! So of course, we had to snag them to see what they now look like, and more importantly, taste like! Rising Moons Overnight Oats have been offered at Docking Bay 7 Food and Cargo since Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge opened at Disney World’s Hollywood Studios back in August of this year. The description formerly listed oats, dragonfruit, yogurt, and seasonal fruit for $7, but now the classic Batuu breakfast offering has been renamed Tuggs’ Overnight Oats, and the ingredients are now listed as overnight oats, mango smoothie, and mixed fruit! Docking Bay 7 Menu Read our entire Docking Bay 7 breakfast review here! So yeah, a little different! But what’s most notably changed is Docking Bay 7’s presentation of the overnight oats! Here’s how the new, pricer version looks — yup, if you want to fancy presentation, you’ll be shelling out $10.99 for Docking Bay 7’s fancy oats! Tuggs’ Overnight Oats What’s that thing chilling out in the top corner? It’s the new mango smoothie that comes on the side of Docking Bay 7’s oats! And it actually tastes surprisingly good! Super fresh and delicious on the side with the oats — our only complaint is that it’s a very small portion — only a couple gulps of smoothie and then it’s gone! Tuggs’ Overnight Oats And you’ve also probably noticed that the fresh fruit is now served as a side fruit salad on Docking Bay 7’s oats instead of all piled up in a cup like oats previously were. And just in case you were wondering, these cheaper oats are currently still available at Ronto Roasters and Oga’s Cantina. We like how you can stir the fruit into the oats with Docking Bay 7’s oats, or just enjoy it by itself! The fruit selection looks like a pretty small portion, too. The dragonfruit, blackberries, and blueberries have remained. And while ours didn’t have any kiwi, it did have some honeydew, cantaloupe, and star fruit. Tuggs’ Overnight Oats The Tuggs’ Overnight Oats still comes topped with the same berry-flavored mixture of boba pearls and sauce. The oats were a little juicer than we remembered and it seemed to us like they’d added more liquid to them. We didn’t necessarily like how the extra sauces gave the oats a looser texture, but they were super-flavorful! Tuggs’ Overnight Oats Here’s how it looked when we stirred ’em all up! They’re served nice and cold which makes them very refreshing on a hot day on Batuu! Tuggs’ Overnight Oats We think the Tuggs’ Overnight Oats would be a great lighter breakfast option if you didn’t have time to grab a bite before heading off to the Black Spire Outpost! And remember, you can still snag the more portable (and cheaper!) version of the oats at Ronto Roasters and Oga’s Cantina! Ronto Roasters Menu Check out our full review of the cup-version of the Overnight Oats here. The new Tuggs’ Overnight Oats cost $10.99 at Docking Bay 7 and may be worth the premium cost for its presentation, but its kinda a lot of money for not a lot of food, in our opinion. For the money and convenience, you may prefer grabbing your oats in a to-go cup from Ronto Roasters or Oga’s Cantina instead! What do you think of all the recent menu changes to Disney World’s Docking Bay 7? Let us know in the comments section! Related posts: NEWS! 15. Recently we had Matt Martin, Creative Executive of Franchise Story & Content from the Lucasfilm Story Group, visit Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disney’s Hollywood Studios in Florida, and while he was exploring the planet of Batuu, he met with some of the authors who helped bring some of the stories of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge to life. During the next few weeks we will be taking you through Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge to check out my list of “can’t miss” experiences with friends! To kick things off, Matt got the chance to explore Batuu with authors Delilah Dawson (author of “Galaxy’s Edge: Black Spire”), Zoraida Cordova (author of “Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge A Crash of Fate”) and Ethan Sacks (author of “Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge” comic series) along with illustrator Will Sliney. 17. Disney Cruise Line tries their best to be fun for the entire family! Disney Cruise Line’s Disney Dream Well, shipping off with Disney may have become a little more fun for the little ones because kiddos sailing on the high seas can now meet more Disney Junior characters! That’s right, Vampirina and Fancy Nancy have officially joined the cast of friendly faces aboard. There’s are a slew of ways for kids to find entertainment on the Disney Cruise Line, from activities in Disney’s Oceaneers Club and Lab to the awesome pool features and everything in between. Well, Vampirina and Fancy Nancy have decided to join in on the fun and have brought some special new experiences for the Oceaneers Club with them. ©Disney Children from 3-12 can join Vampirina in some spooky fun with the Dancelvania Dance Party. Kids get to make their own scary looks to show off during a dance party to the music from this favorite Disney show. Of course, Vampirina will be there to hang out and make for a fang-bearing good time. ©Disney Also at Oceaneer’s Club, kids can take part in Fancy It Yourself with Fancy Nancy! This experience will have little ones crafting their own artwork and learning how to do fancy signatures that will be displayed around the room. They’ll also have “fancy lessons,” learning how to walk, talk, and have tea… fancily, of course! And this crash course in the art of fancy wouldn’t be complete with a visit from Fancy Nancy herself to check in on all their new fancy skills. ©Disney Vampirina and Fancy Nancy are setting sail now with all four ships on the Disney Cruise Line: Disney Magic, Disney Wonder, Disney Dream, and Disney Fantasy. Fancy that! Would your little ones love to hang out with Vampirina or Fancy Nancy? Let us know in the comments! Related posts: Disney Cruise Line Bookings for Summer 2020 Sailings OPEN SOON! 19. Let’s take a trip down to the bayou for another roundup of What’s New at Disney’s Port Orleans Resort! Let The Good Times Roll or as they say, Laissez les bon temps rouler! Port Orleans — Riverside This is where we take you on a virtual walk around Disney World’s Port Orleans Resort to spot any and all of the latest food updates, construction, and merch we’ve spotted along the way! We hope you’re hungry because we have a TON of food updates for you to devour at both Port Orleans French Quarter and Port Orleans Riverside. Food Updates at Disney’s Port Orleans Resort- French Quarter First up, we’ll be geaux-ing to the French Quarter for updates at two of its dining locations. Sassagoula Let’s head to Sassagoula where we noticed they’ve renamed out their previous Bacon Cheeseburger and are now calling it the Applewood Smoked Bacon Cheddar Cheeseburger (fancy, fancy!). If you’re trying to resist the sinful Beignet Cheeseburger, there’s now a new plant-based burger option playfully named the Floatworks Burger. Sassagoula Burger Menu Beignets have been removed from the Sassagoula menu. Don’t worry!! You’ll just have to head to Scat Cat’s Cafe for your fried dough cravings. But if your sweet tooth must be satisfied then and there, look no further than Sassagoula’s Mardi Gras King Cake. There have been quite a few changes in the “Italian Inspired” department. Vegetable pasta got a rename and is now “Pasta Primavera”. The 3 varieties of Flatbreads (meat lovers, veggie, cheese) have been removed and we now have a Super Slice available. The Cheese or Pepperoni “Fresh Baked Pizzas” are now listed as “Pizza Dinner”. Sassagoula Pizza & Pasta Updated Menu Mardi Grogs It looks like Copa Di Vino has replaced Mardi Grogs former Woodbridge wine offerings. Mardi Grogs New Wine List Sadly, all the specialty drinks have gone up in price. Mardi Grogs Updated Pricing Remember those specialty pretzels we recently told you about? These have been available at this spot for a while now, but this is the first time we’ve noticed a sign! Yep, you can grab a drink and a pretzel in one spot! So if you’re looking to eat your feelings after that $18.00 Hurricane, you can grab a Mickey Pretzel, Jalapeno Pretzel, or Cream Cheese Pretzel here. Mardi Grogs Pretzel Menu We totally picked up a Jalapeno Mickey pretzel. Food Updates at Disney’s Port Orleans Resort- Riverside We will now make our way over to Riverside where they, too, didn’t seem spared from menu changes. Boatwright’s Dining Hall Some adjustments were made to the Amelia’s Salad at Boatwright’s and it is now Vegan. Seems to be another change in the effort to bringing more plant-based options to Disney theme parks and resorts. In continuing the trend, a plant-based jambalaya has also been added to the menu. Boatwrights Updated Menu Riverside Mill At the Riverside Mill Food Court, the Plant-based burger has been replaced by the Mill Burger. It’s served with steak fries and is priced at $13.99. Riverside Mill Menu The hot dog has been removed and has been replaced by a Classic cheeseburger. Riverside Mill Menu The large pizza has been removed and we are left with the “Pizza Dinner.” Like at French Quarter, the 3 varieties of Flatbreads (meat lovers, veggie, cheese) have also been removed and we now have a Super Slice available. Riverside Mill Pizza Menu The Salad & Sandwich station has removed the Garden Salad option but now has an upgraded menu board with additional salads listed. Riverside Mill New Salad Board A little salad never hurts when you’ve been eating all those tasty beignets! Muddy Rivers Just as Mardi Grogs has changed from serving a selection of Woodbridge wines, Muddy Rivers Pool Bar joined in on the action and is now selling Copa Di Vino. Muddy River Updated Drink Menu Sad news for all you fans looking to guzzle down one of their delicious Hurricanes or an All That Jazz — we found here that menu prices have gone up. Cry Me A River. Muddy Rivers Updated Pricing We’ll be over here crying into our hurricanes. Merchandise Updates at Disney’s Port Orleans Resort- French Quarter We were totally DIGGIN’ The new Rainbow 1970’s Disney Collection we found last week at World of Disney and we’re excited that it is now available at another location! Jackson Square It’s time to Do The Hustle straight on over to Jackson Square at Disney’s Port Orleans French Quarter where we spotted the new Rainbow 1970’s Disney Collection for sale! 1970s Merch Hustles Into Port Orleans If you want to look TOTALLY GROOVY, you may be interested in the Rainbow 1970’s Disney Tank Top for $34.99. Rainbow 1970’s Disney Tank Top Those groovy colors are CALLING to us! Thanks for following us on the scene with What’s New at Disney’s Port Orleans Resort. 20. It’s nearly Halloween and in honor of the month’s spooky holiday, our Disney Doodles series is showcasing the best spell-casting, plan-spoiling witch and sorcerer characters from Disney film history. Which character fits this description better than Maleficent? In the 1959 animated film, Maleficent and her “pet” raven Diablo reside in a castle in the Forbidden Mountains, a detail that artist Ashley Taylor used in today’s Disney Doodle. “Maleficent resides in the Forbidden Mountains,” Ashley said. “It’s easy to imagine her and her goons trying to take over all of the mountains at Magic Kingdom Park.” View the full article
