We’ve already seen a couple of new spirit jerseys in Disneyland that we’re wanting to splurge on. But just when we think we found the perfect park outfit, Disney releases more apparel for us to add to our collection. Mickey Balloon Spirit Jersey While strolling around the park, we spotted a few other shirts in New Orleans Square that are just too iconic not to add to our wardrobe. Le Bat en Rouge is where you’ll be able to get your hands on this ombré Minnie Ear tank top by Her Universe for $34.99. We could see this tank top going really well with the unicorn Minnie Ears when they finally make their big debut. Minnie Ears tank top Did you see Her Universe’s new Cinderella collection? Check it out here! Of course, we’re in love with all of the classic snacks at Disneyland, so we instantly fell for this Mickey Ice Cream Bar shirt for $36.99. It looks like someone’s already beaten us to it and taken a bite out of the bar! Mickey Ice Cream Bar shirt This shirt with the iconic Sleeping Beauty Castle logo is giving us all kind of nostalgic feelings. Sleeping Beauty Castle shirt We’ve seen this $36.99 shirt other places, like World of Disney, but so far we’ve only found the Mickey Ice Cream Bar and Minnie Ear shirts at Le Bat en Rouge. Last fall we saw Disney World’s Refillable Mugs, Minnie Ears, and many popular park snack and beverage options receive minor prices increases. Mickey Ice Cream Bar at Magic Kingdom That was just the tip of the tiny price increase iceberg! Over the last few weeks, we’ve spotted several small price hikes. They may not seem like much at first, but when you roll them all together, they start to add UP! But what effect will all of Disney World’s little price increases have on your trip? Let’s examine each one! Character Meal Price Increases One of Disney World’s sneakiest price increases happened to many of its character meals. The adult cost for character meals (including breakfast, lunch, and dinner) all increased $1. That might not seem so bad, but the cost of kids’ character meals cost all increased by $3-$4, which could really be a chunk of change if you have a lot of mouths to feed! Here are the restaurants affected: 1900 Park Fare at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort Bon Voyage Adventure Breakfast at Trattoria al Forno in Disney’s BoardWalk Inn Hollywood & Vine at Disney’s Hollywood Studios Garden Grill at Epcot Crystal Palace at Magic Kingdom Chef Mickey’s at Disney’s Contemporary Resort Cape May Cafe at Disney’s Beach Club Resort Storybook Dining at Artist Point at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge Akershus Royal Banquet at Epcot Tusker House at Disney’s Animal Kingdom ‘Ohana at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort Click here to see our full list of character meals at Disney World! How Can You Save? Generally, character meal breakfasts can be significantly cheaper than character meal lunches and dinners. You’ll also want to consider which character meals are plated and which are all-you-care-to-enjoy options. While buffets can be slightly more expensive, they might be a better value for a hungry group since you’d be able to fill up your plate several times! Hollywood and Vine Read more about the Disney World character meal price increases here! Park Hopper Price Increases Disney World’s two Park Hopper ticket add-ons also recently underwent a small price increase. These options allow guests to enter all four Disney World theme parks (with the optional “plus” add-on feature to access water parks and more) each day that they have a valid ticket. Park Hopper and Park Hopper Plus have both increased $5. Here’s the current pricing for both add-ons: Park Hopper Pricing: $60 increased to $65 per ticket for 1 day tickets $70 increased to $75 per ticket for 2-3 day tickets $80 increased to $85 per ticket for 4-10 day tickets Park Hopper Plus Pricing: $80 increased to $85 per ticket for 1 day tickets $90 increased to $95 per ticket for 2-3 day tickets $100 increased to $105 per ticket for 4-10 day tickets Typhoon Lagoon How Can You Save? While we often enjoy the flexibility of having Park Hopper with our Disney World tickets, it’s totally possible to get by just fine without it. And since all Disney World resorts have a pool area for their guests, that’s usually plenty to get us our chlorine fix while on vacation! If you do want to spend a good portion of the day at Typhoon Lagoon or Blizzard Beach, water park tickets can be purchased separately for around $69 per day per park which might save you some money in the long run versus purchasing a Park Hopper Plus! Find out more info about the recent Park Hopper price increases here! Disney World Annual Pass Price Increases One of the biggest price increases Disney World rolled out recently was for annual passes. As you’ll see below, both general public and Florida residents were affected by this price change. General Public Premier Passport increased from $2,099 to $2,199 Platinum Plus Pass increased from $1219 to $1295 Platinum Pass increased from $1,119 to $1195 Florida Residents FL Resident Platinum Plus Annual Pass stays at $999 FL Resident Platinum Annual Pass stays at $899 FL Resident Gold Annual Pass increased from $699 to $719 FL Resident Silver Annual Pass increased from $519 to $539 FL Resident Theme Park Select Pass stays at $439 FL Resident Weekday Select Annual Pass increased from $349 to $369 Epcot After 4 Annual Pass increased from $309 to $319 (Note that current Disney World Annual Passholders are eligible for discounted renewal rates.) Magic Kingdom How Can You Save? Many people visit Disney World frequently enough to justify the cost of purchasing or renewing an Annual Pass (AP), but with these recent price changes, it’s more important than ever to ensure you’re utilizing your AP status enough to make it worth your while! Be sure to take advantage of all the AP discounts on rooms, dining, merchandise, freebies, and more to help offset the increased cost of your pass. Read more about Disney World’s Annual Pass price increases here! Minnie Van Price Increases Hiring a Minnie Van to take you to or from the Orlando International Airport used to cost a flat service fee of $150 (gratuity not included), but the fee just crept up to $155. A Minnie Van to Port Canaveral (which services the Disney Cruise Line) has also increased from $240 to $249. Minnie Van How Can You Save? Minnie Vans are a nice luxury to have but aren’t a necessity by any means. If you’re staying at any of Disney World’s Resort Hotels, Disney World provides a free, complimentary airport shuttle service called Disney’s Magical Express. The shuttle is also available to take guests from their Disney World resort to Port Canaveral for less money than a Minnie Van. VIP Tour Price Increases Many of us only dream of experiencing a Disney World VIP Tour with our very own “Plaid” (a.k.a. Guest Services Cast Member wearing a fancy plaid vest!), but these experiences run rather pricey. And now the price has gone up once again! The minimum length of one of these tours is 7 hours, and pricing starts at $425 per hour. However, depending on what time of the year you go, this base cost can fluctuate. While these tours previously peaked at $625, it looks like the tours have experienced an increase and now cost up to $750 per hour. VIP Tour Price Increase ©Disney How Can You Save? If you had your heart set on booking one of these luxurious tours, you’re gonna have to save up a few more bucks! To diffuse the cost, you can try wrangling in some friends and family members to help you split up the bill amongst the group! Each VIP tour can accommodate up to 10 guests including infants, so if you spread the cost around a group it could be much more doable! Click here to read more about the VIP Tour price increases here! Overall Even though these recent price changes may just be a small increase from the previous prices, we understand how important every dollar you spend can be! These changes may mean putting extra money aside for an upcoming trip or restructuring your plans to save a few extra bucks, but don’t let these increases put a damper on your vacation! We always want to make sure you know how to get the most bang for your buck, so make sure you’ve signed up for our newsletter to keep up with the latest price increases and other Disney park news! Check out some more of our favorite money-saving tips below! Will you be forgoing any of these experiences because of Disney World’s recent price increases? Let us know in the comments below! Who’s up for a visit to The Bengal Barbecue?! Bengal Barbecue We’ve been eating our way around Disneyland’s Adventureland today, checking out some new (and updated) snacks at The Tropical Hideaway. But the Hideaway isn’t the only place with some additional goodies these days. And old favorite, The Bengal Barbecue is currently putting the spotlight on a new Specialty Skewer! Joining the other Jungle Skewers on the menu (such as the Banyan Beef, Outback Vegetable, Pork Belly Skewers and more), the Specialty Skewer serves up shrimp, spiced ham, and pineapple with a Piña Colada dressing. Specialty Skewer Though we anticipated that some sweetness might come through from the piña colada sauce, the flavor emphasis stayed on the savory side. Specialty Skewer In fact, we didn’t pick up much flavor from the dressing at all. We did, however, pick up on the terrific taste of the shrimp, ham, and pineapple (don’t you just love grilled pineapple?), with the seasoned ham being especially delicious! Specialty Skewer Though the Specialty Skewer ($6.49) is seasonal, the Cast Member we spoke with informed us that it should be around for at least a couple of months. And that’s good news because this is a great addition to an already solid selection. (Because don’t forget, there’s a BACON-WRAPPED Skewer here, too!) Specialty Skewer The only trouble, in fact, is that this new option makes your tasty Skewer decisions that much more difficult at The Bengal Barbecue. So it’s highly recommended that you grab a friend, say “Hi!” to the Tiger, and try a few! Join the DFB Newsletter to get all the breaking news right in your inbox! Click here to Subscribe! Check out more Disneyland Food Reviews Here!! Which Skewer is your favorite at Bengal Barbecue? Please let us know with a comment! Let’s face it, we have seen some rainy days this past month in the sunshine state. Sure, it makes the trip a bit soggy, but no rain shower can stop the magic of a Walt Disney World Resort vacation. Don’t believe me? Check out these great tips from the Disney Parks Moms Panelists on how to enjoy your Disney day despite a little rain shower. For Anne Marie, some of her best Disney vacation memories took place on a rainy day! And one of her favorite tips? Grab that poncho! “For rainy days, I highly recommend bringing ponchos or other rain gear in addition to umbrellas. I recall my fellow panelist Amy recommending wearing a ball cap with a brim under the hood of your poncho or jacket to keep the rain off your face.” Panel Pro Tip: Ponchos, rain jackets and other rain gear can be found at numerous merchandise locations throughout the parks. Don’t see them, just ask a cast member to point you in the right direction. Outside Character Meet and Greets can be halted should a rain shower pop up, and we certainly don’t want our friends like Jessie and Woody braving the elements! However, Jessica reminds guests that Florida weather can change as quickly as the color of Pascal and although your favorites might have to step inside for a moment they will return as soon as they are able. Panel Pro Tip: Be sure to check out all the excellent locations you can meet your favorite Disney Characters … inside! And remember a rainy day can be the best day ever … “I absolutely love rainy days at the Walt Disney World Resort. The crowds tend to be lighter and with so many attractions, queues, dining locations, and merchandise locations indoors, there are a lot of breaks from the rain. I have also noticed that there is rarely a day where it rains all day. It often starts and stops instead,” Tabitha. Panel Pro Tip: If rain causes a change in your outside plans for the day, why not take in an inside show or perhaps enjoy a snack. Did someone say Dole Whip? For more rainy day tips or other Disney vacation planning questions, visit DisneyParksMomsPanel.com for a personalized answer from one of our panelists. Greetings from The Tropical Hideaway, fellow tiki bird and Dole Whip enthusiasts! Tropical Hideaway While this little patio oasis opened back in 2018 to offer weary Adventureland explorers a much-needed rest and a snack — it seems they’ve updated their menu. And it appears one of our favorite tropical treats might have gotten the axe! At this time we can’t be certain whether or not the Pineapple Lumpia we love at this joint has vanished for good or not, but today we noticed the delicious snack was NO LONGER THERE! The pineapple lumpia was always listed simply as “Sweet Lumpia” and we noticed that the ingredients in a Sweet Lumpia had CHANGED! The new variety of lumpia was listed on Tropical Hideaway’s mobile order menu today and features banana and jackfruit! Banana Jackfruit Lumpia Like we said, the Banana Jackfruit Lumpia could just be replacing the Pineapple Lumpia for a short time, so we still might see the Pineapple Lumpia return from the jungle at any time! And rest assured if you’re a fan of the savory Pork Lumpia, it’s still listed on the official menu and hasn’t gone anywhere! We’re huge fans of the pineapple version of this sweet treat but thankfully, we loved this new one too! Banana Jackfruit Lumpia While the jackfruit didn’t come through very much, we could definitely taste the banana! The warm caramel sauce drizzled over the tops of the lumpia married the flavors together perfectly! You get two of these little crispy rolls per order and we’d definitely get these guys again! They weren’t as sweet at the Pineapple Lumpia which, if you’ll recall, are dusted in sugar after they’re deep-fried, but the Banana Jackfruit Lumpia still had a nice balance of flavors to them and an excellent crispy, flaky wrapper! Banana Jackfruit Lumpia The Banana Jackfruit Lumpia cost $6.99. We’ll keep an eye out for the Pineapple Lumpia and let you know if we see them return. Welcome back to The Tropical Hideaway! Tropical Hideaway Tucked in Disneyland’s Adventureland, the Hideaway has a new item for visiting adventurers to consider: PB&J Mochi! You actually won’t find the PB&J Mochi listed on the menu at The Tropical Hideaway just yet (though you can currently spot it on the Disneyland website menu). The Tropical Hideaway Menu This spin on the Japanese rice cake snack incorporates the flavors of a classic peanut butter and jelly sandwich starting with a sweet raspberry sauce drizzled over the serving of three mochi in place of jam. PB&J Mochi And the peanut butter? That’s found in two places. You’ll notice something in addition to the raspberry sauce topping the mochi called peanut butter dust! PB&J Mochi But you’ll also find creamy peanut butter inside the mochi, which were more light and fluffy than dense. PB&J Mochi The PB&J Mochi trio is $6.99, and it’s a fun addition to the Hideaway’s unique offerings of Dole Whip treats (including Loaded Dole Whips), steamed Bao Buns, and Lumpia.
